- 0:17Speaker 1: It is time to leave or worries outside and laugh
- 0:21Speaker 1: with us inside the treehouse. I'm Daniel Malley, along with
- 0:24Speaker 1: Trey Trenholm, Raj Sharma and mister Jerry called well, today
- 0:30Speaker 1: is bred Day, June fourteenth, twenty twenty five. We're at
- 0:37Speaker 1: the end of another week. Blessed to be here. Yes,
- 0:46Speaker 1: So Sunday is Father's Day and for most of us
- 0:50Speaker 1: here inside the treehouse, it's a little awkward because most
- 0:52Speaker 1: of us don't have our dads anymore. Raj, how many
- 0:56Speaker 1: years ago did you lose your daddy?
- 0:58Speaker 2: Twenty two so? Three years? Oh? Got it?
- 1:02Speaker 1: Twenty so three years ago? Trey, how long has it
- 1:05Speaker 1: been since mister Trenholm passed? Eleven years eleven? It's it
- 1:12Speaker 1: been that long? Yeah, yeah, Jerry, do you still have
- 1:18Speaker 1: your dad?
- 1:19Speaker 3: I have my biological dad. He's the only one that
- 1:22Speaker 3: I have left. My adoption of dad died nineteen years ago.
- 1:25Speaker 1: Gotcha. My dad passed away a couple of years ago.
- 1:31Speaker 1: So we all we're all part of the dead Dad's club.
- 1:35Speaker 1: Although Jerry's showing off because he's got another one. Technically,
- 1:41Speaker 1: I have a biological father somewhere, but I don't know
- 1:46Speaker 1: his status.
- 1:48Speaker 2: I think I've been watching Forensic Files and I think
- 1:51Speaker 2: I think I do really yeah, I think I know
- 1:57Speaker 2: exactly where it could be. I'm just going on a guest.
- 2:01Speaker 1: All right, hang on to that little nugget because I
- 2:03Speaker 1: want to. I want to make sure we have plenty
- 2:05Speaker 1: of time to hear about that in the meantime before
- 2:12Speaker 1: we get to Raj thinking he found my father on
- 2:15Speaker 1: an episode of Forensic Files on television. Lucky me. We
- 2:19Speaker 1: can actually celebrate Father's Day by doing something especially stupid,
- 2:26Speaker 1: and that's celebrating fake dads, because, let's be honest, there
- 2:33Speaker 1: are some great great fathers out there, but the running
- 2:36Speaker 1: joke is there are so many bad dads that we
- 2:38Speaker 1: look to TV dads to really get the good, good wisdom.
- 2:44Speaker 1: I loved my dad, Raj, you had a great dad. Tray,
- 2:47Speaker 1: you had an amazing dad. Jerry, I'm not sure, but
- 2:52Speaker 1: we can all appreciate the TV dad. It's a different
- 2:56Speaker 1: it's a different character than the TV husband. Right, TV
- 3:00Speaker 1: husband is an idiot usually like a it's like like
- 3:06Speaker 1: like in the TV show. According to Jim, you want
- 3:08Speaker 1: to talk about the stereotypical TV husband, it was it
- 3:14Speaker 1: was Jim Belushi.
- 3:15Speaker 2: On that show King of Queens, same thing.
- 3:17Speaker 1: King of Queen's very similar. Yeah, but that makes you think, Okay,
- 3:22Speaker 1: someone decided to go ask a bunch of people, well,
- 3:24Speaker 1: who are the best TV dads of all time? I
- 3:31Speaker 1: think we all know the worst. And the irony to uh,
- 3:36Speaker 1: doctor Cliff, doctor Heathcliff Huxtable is that he used to top
- 3:41Speaker 1: this list, but since it found out that he'd like
- 3:44Speaker 1: to drug women and sleep with them against their will
- 3:47Speaker 1: in real life, not the character on Cosby, Uh, he
- 3:51Speaker 1: no longer makes this list.
- 3:55Speaker 2: Yeah. But even on the show, like he was telling
- 3:57Speaker 2: people who he was, like he did right, Like what
- 4:00Speaker 2: was his job?
- 4:01Speaker 1: He's a gynecologist in the basement of his house.
- 4:06Speaker 2: Yeah, it doesn't get creepier than that.
- 4:10Speaker 1: Granted it was a very nice home. It was a
- 4:13Speaker 1: very technically still technically the basement.
- 4:18Speaker 2: And some of the people, some of the accusers were
- 4:20Speaker 2: actually guest starters on the show as pregnant women in
- 4:23Speaker 2: the basement.
- 4:24Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah, co starring is patient number three but
- 4:28Speaker 1: victim number one. Yeah, unfortunately so Yeah, Cosby no longer
- 4:36Speaker 1: reigned supreme on the best TV Dads of All Time list.
- 4:40Speaker 1: The top twenty five best dads of all time. I'll
- 4:44Speaker 1: run through these here. Number twenty five Ward Cleaver from
- 4:47Speaker 1: Leave It to Beaver, Okay, excellent. Tony Misscelli from Who's
- 4:52Speaker 1: the Boss comes in at twenty four. Tony Danza beat
- 4:58Speaker 1: Ward Cleaver.
- 5:00Speaker 2: That's kind of awesome.
- 5:02Speaker 1: That sounds like a headline he probably did. Yeah. Twenty
- 5:08Speaker 1: three Tom Bradford, who is the dad in eight is enough?
- 5:11Speaker 1: That would be uh, mister Dick van Patten, Tim Taylor
- 5:15Speaker 1: from Home Improvement at twenty two. Okay, surprised he's that
- 5:20Speaker 1: far down on the list. Well, he was a combination
- 5:25Speaker 1: of TV husband, which is kind of an idiot, mixed
- 5:29Speaker 1: in with TV dad, and so because of that, he
- 5:32Speaker 1: didn't have a whole lot of that TV dad wisdom.
- 5:34Speaker 1: He had more of that TV husband idiocy because I
- 5:37Speaker 1: mean in almost every episode he's blowing himself up or something.
- 5:40Speaker 2: Yeah, and he was also in real life for convicted
- 5:42Speaker 2: drug dealer, so he kind of wanted to push past
- 5:45Speaker 2: the wisdom.
- 5:46Speaker 1: Yeah. Number twenty one Stephen Keaton the Dad and Family Ties. Okay, yeah,
- 5:53Speaker 1: Number twenty Red Foreman from that seventies show. Yeah, I
- 5:57Speaker 1: love it now. That is a dad. Yeah, that is
- 6:00Speaker 1: a tea. That is a quint essential TV dad except
- 6:03Speaker 1: for the fact that he was kind of mean, So
- 6:05Speaker 1: he really stands out on this list, right. Number nineteen
- 6:09Speaker 1: Philip Drummond from Different Strokes, You know, the one that
- 6:12Speaker 1: we've talked about in here, that kidnapped a pair of
- 6:14Speaker 1: black boys from a basketball court and took them home
- 6:16Speaker 1: as his own.
- 6:19Speaker 2: White privilege.
- 6:25Speaker 1: Number eighteen Philip Banks, the dad in Fresh Prince of
- 6:29Speaker 1: bel Air. I'm sorry, but just that one episode, just
- 6:33Speaker 1: the one episode between him and Will Smith talking about
- 6:38Speaker 1: Will Smith's dad on the show. Oh man, that still
- 6:44Speaker 1: kind of cracks me up a little bit. That was
- 6:46Speaker 1: some power. That was some powerful stuff for his sitcom.
- 6:48Speaker 2: Yeah, And then the final episode when they start, like
- 6:51Speaker 2: the house is empty and it's just Will and Uncle Phil,
- 6:55Speaker 2: and he starts reminiscing about all the stuff they did
- 6:57Speaker 2: together and that that hug was like, oh okay, yeah,
- 7:02Speaker 2: that was really that was really good.
- 7:06Speaker 1: Number seventeen Phil Dunfie from Modern Family. He beats out
- 7:10Speaker 1: Uncle Phil. We actually went back and rewatched the majority
- 7:17Speaker 1: of Modern Family recently, and that show holds up. It
- 7:21Speaker 1: has moments where it's really really clever, and then they
- 7:24Speaker 1: have a hard time balancing sometimes being clever with being
- 7:27Speaker 1: too cute, and near the end it went more too cute,
- 7:30Speaker 1: see than clever, and so we usually stop watching somewhere
- 7:33Speaker 1: in there. But still a bunch of those seasons are
- 7:35Speaker 1: really really funny.
- 7:36Speaker 2: But like his physical comedy is just so ty. Barnett's
- 7:40Speaker 2: physical comedy is just so good.
- 7:42Speaker 1: When he's on that sort of elliptical cross trainer thing
- 7:48Speaker 1: going around the neighborhood. Have you've seen this tray? So
- 7:51Speaker 1: you know what elliptical is at the gym?
- 7:53Speaker 4: Right, I know what you're talking about.
- 7:55Speaker 1: And you know the the trike looking thing. It's like
- 7:58Speaker 1: your legs spread out wider than an elliptical. Then you're
- 8:01Speaker 1: this is what he would. This is a whole episode
- 8:02Speaker 1: of him going around the neighborhood. One of these things.
- 8:05Speaker 1: I think I saw one one time on the Katie
- 8:07Speaker 1: Trail when we lived in Dallas, and I thought, oh wow,
- 8:10Speaker 1: that guy's single, and then it will be forever.
- 8:15Speaker 2: The episode where he has the flu but doesn't know
- 8:17Speaker 2: it and he's at Disneyland and he wants to ride
- 8:20Speaker 2: the Riots with his son and he's going through the
- 8:23Speaker 2: flu like he passes out on magic Like that.
- 8:28Speaker 1: Really was good. He had to actually act out passing
- 8:31Speaker 1: out in the middle of the roller coaster. It's phenomenal.
- 8:34Speaker 1: Chef's kiss. Okay, So going back to the list, Top
- 8:37Speaker 1: twenty five TV dads of all time? Number sixteen Peter
- 8:40Speaker 1: Griffin from Family Guy, How is he even? Mike Brady
- 8:48Speaker 1: from The Brady Bunch at fifteen, Michael Bluth from Arrested
- 8:51Speaker 1: Development at fourteen, Jason Seaver on Growing Pains at thirteen,
- 8:56Speaker 1: what is it?
- 8:56Speaker 2: Trey Michael Blue from A Rest I know, Jason Vaitman.
- 9:06Speaker 4: This is a quality list, It really is, it.
- 9:08Speaker 1: Really really is. Number twelve, Howard Cunningham from Happy Days.
- 9:13Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 9:14Speaker 1: Number eleven Homer Simpson from The Simpsons. Ay, and coming
- 9:21Speaker 1: up later, we'll give you the top ten best TV
- 9:25Speaker 1: dads of all time, because if you thought the first
- 9:27Speaker 1: fifteen was if I'm being honest, you know, hang on,

- 11:14Speaker 1: Daniel Malley, along with Trey Trenholm, Raj Sharma and Jerry Caldwell.
- 11:18Speaker 1: Coming up just a little bit later, we'll finish the
- 11:23Speaker 1: best TV dads of all time. But I want to
- 11:26Speaker 1: make sure that I want to make sure we check
- 11:28Speaker 1: in with Trey, who's sort of like our tree house daddy,
- 11:31Speaker 1: and that's because he's the oldest. Now, keeping in mind,
- 11:34Speaker 1: it's not my much, but as it is your for
- 11:40Speaker 1: the sake of this argument, you are treehouse Daddy. Trey
- 11:45Speaker 1: decided to flex his dad muscles this morning by trying
- 11:50Speaker 1: a new kettlebell workout. What did you combine with your
- 11:52Speaker 1: kettlebell workout? Trey?
- 11:54Speaker 4: It was a kettlebell hit workout.
- 11:57Speaker 1: So the kettlebell workout wasn't difficult to know off for
- 12:00Speaker 1: our daddy Tray that he needed to combine it with
- 12:03Speaker 1: a high intensity interval training element.
- 12:07Speaker 2: Do we not? Do we not remember two weeks AGO's lunge?
- 12:11Speaker 1: Thank you, Raj. Two weeks ago you thought you tore
- 12:14Speaker 1: your quadricep muscle doing a lunge. Now you're doing high intensity,
- 12:20Speaker 1: high intensity interval kettlebell training.
- 12:23Speaker 4: But but but doing a nine minute warm up stretch
- 12:27Speaker 4: thing beforehand?
- 12:30Speaker 1: I don't know if you doing that workout would be
- 12:32Speaker 1: wise with a nine day warm up.
- 12:36Speaker 2: You should try the one I'm on, it's excellent. It's
- 12:38Speaker 2: the kettle chip workout. It is oh so good, so
- 12:42Speaker 2: many different flavors, different.
- 12:46Speaker 1: Lots of yeah, oh yeah, cream and onion.
- 12:50Speaker 2: Oh yeah, there you go, cracked.
- 12:53Speaker 1: That's a good one.
- 12:54Speaker 2: So that's that's my leg day.
- 12:58Speaker 1: Funky fusion that it did. Yeah, I mean this with
- 13:06Speaker 1: all sincerity, Trey. Kettlebell workouts are hard enough. Why do
- 13:09Speaker 1: you feel the need to add more intensity by combining
- 13:12Speaker 1: it with a hit workout?
- 13:14Speaker 8: So I follow this guy and that does the workouts,
- 13:18Speaker 8: And that was one of the things that popped up
- 13:21Speaker 8: was just I was really looking at it more for
- 13:24Speaker 8: time and I was like, all right, what the hell?
- 13:28Speaker 8: And and make the mistake It hit whipped my ass.
- 13:33Speaker 8: It was a thirty one minute workout. It took me
- 13:34Speaker 8: actually about thirty eight minutes to get through because I
- 13:37Speaker 8: had to hit some pauses here and there just to
- 13:39Speaker 8: catch my breath.
- 13:43Speaker 9: In that.
- 13:43Speaker 2: I picture how Trey got into this, and this is
- 13:47Speaker 2: just how the movie Brain of Mine works is. After
- 13:50Speaker 2: the quad scare, Trey was in my head is like
- 13:55Speaker 2: in a dark room, like staring at his quad and
- 13:57Speaker 2: it's like, oh, so you think you can take me down?
- 14:02Speaker 2: Kettlebell like and that's all it was said. And then
- 14:04Speaker 2: the next thing, that intense workout. There's a montageous foreigner
- 14:08Speaker 2: song that plays. Oh yeah, yeah, for sure.
- 14:11Speaker 1: I just think it's so scary that, as a fifty
- 14:14Speaker 1: year old man, you're combining a kettlebell workout with a
- 14:17Speaker 1: hit workout. If I was to do that, it would
- 14:21Speaker 1: just be hitting myself in the head with the kettlebell.
- 14:27Speaker 2: I need kettle bell.
- 14:30Speaker 9: All right, let me let me.
- 14:30Speaker 1: Try this new TikTok workout.
- 14:32Speaker 9: And go.
- 14:37Speaker 1: All right, that's that's my first rep. All right, I mean,
- 14:41Speaker 1: let me let me try my next one. Oh how
- 14:45Speaker 1: many sets of this do I have to do? Oh?
- 14:51Speaker 2: And then Dan's new new series, The Best e rs
- 14:53Speaker 2: in Town.
- 14:59Speaker 1: How to hit your deductible in one day.
- 15:06Speaker 2: CT. It's not it's not over time anymore.
- 15:09Speaker 1: That's right.
- 15:11Speaker 2: You can do it in one the danil Malley workout
- 15:13Speaker 2: CT in one session.
- 15:18Speaker 1: You remember seven minute abs, here's five minutes C.
- 15:25Speaker 2: That's right. Oh, fill out the form with this big pencil.
- 15:33Speaker 1: I can't. My grip strength is shot. That's probably why
- 15:40Speaker 1: they That's probably why they invented the big pencil. Because
- 15:42Speaker 1: the guy that did the hit workout combined with the kettlebells.
- 15:46Speaker 1: His hand was cramped around the kettlebell handle, and the
- 15:49Speaker 1: only writing utensil that would fit is a big pencil.
- 15:54Speaker 2: Does he always fart when he blinks his right eye?
- 15:56Speaker 9: That's weird?
- 15:58Speaker 1: All right? Second set? Oh extrap, Oh it hurts alright,
- 16:08Speaker 1: let me try this again. That'll give me just enough
- 16:16Speaker 1: for the last set. Here we go. Oh, I put
- 16:24Speaker 1: my finger in the wrong spot.
- 16:28Speaker 2: Shouldn't have car bloaded.
- 16:35Speaker 1: Sorry, ma'am. It's totally involuntary at this point.
- 16:42Speaker 2: The only workout series not on DVD.
- 16:50Speaker 1: I have an idea. Let's do a hit cattlebell workout
- 16:53Speaker 1: to the oldie training. Richard Simmons comes bouncing out this
- 17:02Speaker 1: training session. This training session sponsored by Depends.
- 17:10Speaker 4: And your local er.
- 17:16Speaker 1: Oh, the TikTok influencers. The fitness industry is gonna just
- 17:19Speaker 1: really hate you, but the big farm is gonna love you.
- 17:24Speaker 1: So you managed to go? Oh yeah, so did you
- 17:28Speaker 1: manage to get through the entire kettlebell slash hit work
- 17:31Speaker 1: out without hitting yourself in the head or dropping a
- 17:34Speaker 1: kettlebell on your foot?
- 17:36Speaker 2: H wow?
- 17:38Speaker 1: Okay, well then well done.
- 17:41Speaker 3: Yeah, so I guess the question remains what did happen?
- 17:46Speaker 1: Tree?
- 17:48Speaker 8: I mean, there are a couple of times I was,
- 17:51Speaker 8: you know, on the ground, trying to catch my breath,
- 17:54Speaker 8: pondering what the hell am I doing?
- 17:58Speaker 1: What got you off the floor like a twenty five
- 18:04Speaker 1: year old wearing Lululemons.
- 18:06Speaker 4: No, I do try to.
- 18:09Speaker 8: There's a little like yoga workout room on the side
- 18:13Speaker 8: of the gym and the complex I live, and I
- 18:16Speaker 8: try to go in there so.
- 18:18Speaker 4: You know, my old my old man.
- 18:20Speaker 8: You know, workouts aren't distracting to anyone else, but you can't.
- 18:28Speaker 8: You can't look out by the pool and go.
- 18:30Speaker 1: Oh, you know that's smart though, because that reminds you
- 18:34Speaker 1: why you're working out in the first place.
- 18:36Speaker 4: Yeah, a bunch of girls I'm too old for.
- 18:38Speaker 2: It's I love about Jerry's like, so what went wrong?
- 18:41Speaker 2: So it's like nothing and then just he just wheels away.
- 18:48Speaker 8: There's some you know, definitely some times where thank god,
- 18:51Speaker 8: I am in a room by myself, because especially when
- 18:53Speaker 8: trying to do like some of the ab stuff where
- 18:55Speaker 8: you know you're doing a like roll up and then
- 18:59Speaker 8: thrust your hips the air and stuffy little gas my
- 19:02Speaker 8: escape here and there.
- 19:02Speaker 4: Because uh huh, you just that point.
- 19:06Speaker 8: That is something I have noticed with age, like especially
- 19:08Speaker 8: for some reason, climbing the stairs, like going upstairs for
- 19:11Speaker 8: some reason, it's like, you know.
- 19:13Speaker 2: You don't need to work out, you need a proctologist. Buddy.
- 19:18Speaker 1: Let me get a look in here. Let's see me
- 19:21Speaker 1: take a look. Take that weird number one number one.
- 19:31Speaker 2: Now I know why you always live on the first floor.
- 19:38Speaker 1: H whoops, I forgot to disarm before I started my workout.
- 19:51Speaker 9: You're in the Treehouse.

- 20:41Speaker 1: is the Treehouse Show. I'm Dan, He's Trade. That's Raj.
- 20:44Speaker 1: That is Jerry. Today is Friday, June fourteenth, two thousand
- 20:49Speaker 1: twenty five. We started the show talking about the top
- 20:53Speaker 1: twenty five best TV dads of all time, and it's
- 21:00Speaker 1: it's interesting which one of the first fifteen that we
- 21:03Speaker 1: went through stood out to you guys the most. And
- 21:06Speaker 1: it sounds like Michael Bluth, the dad in Arrested Development,
- 21:10Speaker 1: coming in at number fourteen, is the one that has
- 21:12Speaker 1: surprised you, Trey and Raj the most.
- 21:16Speaker 2: Yeah, why did you watch the show?
- 21:21Speaker 8: Because don't Sleep with your cousin doesn't seem like certainly great.
- 21:26Speaker 4: It seems like a low bar.
- 21:29Speaker 1: That is some quality dad advice though, Yeah, and you
- 21:33Speaker 1: know the episode, Like, I love that show.
- 21:37Speaker 8: I think Jeffrey Tambor was one of the most underrated
- 21:40Speaker 8: between that and Larry Sanders show. I think he's just
- 21:42Speaker 8: absolutely brilliant. But there is one the first season. I
- 21:45Speaker 8: think it's like episode six where it's the conjugal Visit
- 21:47Speaker 8: one where Michael Bluth is trying to get you know something,
- 21:51Speaker 8: so he's getting like a hooker for his dad. Yeah,
- 21:54Speaker 8: so there there'd be another reason why I kind of
- 21:57Speaker 8: questioned the list.
- 22:00Speaker 2: Apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
- 22:05Speaker 1: So in that case, there were some surprises as far
- 22:08Speaker 1: as the top twenty five best TV dads of all time.
- 22:11Speaker 1: That's one I think we'd all agree. We're really wondering
- 22:15Speaker 1: how it is. Peter Griffin from Family Guy came in
- 22:18Speaker 1: at number sixteen on this list, so it's an entertaining list,
- 22:22Speaker 1: no doubt. And that's just twenty five to eleven. So
- 22:26Speaker 1: let's now do the top ten best TV dads of
- 22:32Speaker 1: all time. Number ten from The Munsters Herman Munster excellent.
- 22:38Speaker 1: You're talking about the heyday of Hollywood TV black and white.
- 22:45Speaker 1: That was a kind of a controversial show for the
- 22:48Speaker 1: time because you're talking about a family show where family
- 22:53Speaker 1: was very very vanilla on TV, and the Monsters obviously
- 23:00Speaker 1: stood out quite a bit.
- 23:03Speaker 8: I'm surprised something of that age made the list because.
- 23:06Speaker 1: I am too. They had leave it to Beaver on
- 23:13Speaker 1: spot number twenty five.
- 23:14Speaker 4: Well, but and that low I kind of understand.
- 23:18Speaker 1: But if this list was done twenty years ago, Ward
- 23:21Speaker 1: Cleaver is probably in the top ten. Keeping that in mind.
- 23:25Speaker 1: At number nine of the best TV dads of all time,
- 23:29Speaker 1: Fred Sandford from Sandford and Son excellent. Yeah, not so
- 23:36Speaker 1: much for the self esteem building for his son there,
- 23:39Speaker 1: but still great TV dad, Classic TV Dad number eight
- 23:45Speaker 1: from Step by Step Frank Lambert. Okay, how in the
- 23:50Speaker 1: actual does Patrick Duffy, who portrays the dad and step
- 23:56Speaker 1: by Step make this list?
- 23:59Speaker 2: Talented actor, a brilliant human being, a practicing book.
- 24:04Speaker 1: He wasn't even the best dad on things on TG
- 24:07Speaker 1: I have.
- 24:09Speaker 2: Abby Ewing. Yeah, it's still part of a dynasty. He
- 24:17Speaker 2: makes the list always, all.
- 24:19Speaker 1: Right, Well, speaking of TG, if he actually is not
- 24:22Speaker 1: the best dad on TG, if that was the thank goodness,
- 24:26Speaker 1: it's Friday lined up back in the day at number seven.
- 24:29Speaker 1: Danny Tanner from Full House. Okay, yeah, but not if
- 24:34Speaker 1: you saw not if you saw his stand up.
- 24:36Speaker 2: That is correct.
- 24:38Speaker 1: That's a very very different man. Yes, just goes to
- 24:42Speaker 1: show how good of an actor Bob Sagett is that
- 24:44Speaker 1: he can play one of the sweetest, most innocent seeming
- 24:48Speaker 1: fathers in television history but be one of the most
- 24:52Speaker 1: foul mouth stand up comedians in history.
- 24:54Speaker 2: Yeah, they had to, They used to have to put
- 24:55Speaker 2: out a notice at comedy clubs when Full House came out,
- 25:00Speaker 2: said this comedy show is blue and he would open
- 25:03Speaker 2: with this joke and it was one of my favorites.
- 25:05Speaker 2: And he said his daughter came up to him after
- 25:07Speaker 2: she saw a few episodes of the show Full House
- 25:10Speaker 2: and said, Dad, you're just nothing but a sweet, sweet
- 25:14Speaker 2: old actor. And he said, on, thank you, honey, and
- 25:17Speaker 2: you're out of the wheel, bitch. And then he would go,
- 25:22Speaker 2: it's not it's it's it's not ABC TV. Buckle up,
- 25:26Speaker 2: and that's how he would start his sets. So that
- 25:30Speaker 2: was pretty awesome.
- 25:32Speaker 1: Coming in at number six Best TV Dads of all
- 25:34Speaker 1: Time from Roseanne dan Connor about that, I have no
- 25:39Speaker 1: issues with that. Not only am I a massive, massive
- 25:42Speaker 1: fan of his as an actor, but the character. Yeah,
- 25:47Speaker 1: it was good TV dad. Number five Carl Winslow from
- 25:50Speaker 1: Family Matters, which gives me an excuse to bring up
- 25:55Speaker 1: the Carl Winslow theory. Carl Winslow, the dad from Family Ties,
- 26:02Speaker 1: is also Officer Al Powell from the Diehard Universe because
- 26:07Speaker 1: it's the same actor, Reginald vil Johnson, and same job,
- 26:11Speaker 1: same job, same city. I think, no, no, no, I
- 26:13Speaker 1: think Family Matters with Chicago whatever, it's the same thing.
- 26:17Speaker 1: It's Reginald vel Johnson theory.
- 26:19Speaker 2: And I think he got a transfer.
- 26:21Speaker 1: Yeah, he was trying to get away from John McLean.
- 26:25Speaker 1: I was like, man, I've had enough of this. Okay,
- 26:28Speaker 1: now that now we get into the top four from
- 26:30Speaker 1: Bob's Burgers Bob Belcher Top TV Dads of all Time?
- 26:33Speaker 1: I never I have not seen enough episodes to put
- 26:35Speaker 1: him anywhere on the list.
- 26:37Speaker 9: I can.
- 26:38Speaker 1: I can concur with that one. That's a good one, Okay, Yeah,
- 26:40Speaker 1: he's a good job. Number three Archie Bunker from All
- 26:43Speaker 1: in the Family was no or just really really memorable.
- 26:48Speaker 2: No, we're a giant racist.
- 26:49Speaker 1: It's a giant racist.
- 26:52Speaker 2: So for the seventies, really memorable. Yeah.
- 26:57Speaker 1: Number two, Number two for the best TV dads of
- 27:01Speaker 1: all time? Andy Taylor The Andy Griffith Show. Wow, now
- 27:06Speaker 1: I know what you're thinking. Who could they have possibly
- 27:10Speaker 1: put in the top spot over Andy Taylor from the
- 27:16Speaker 1: Andy Griffith Show. And if you said Al Bundy from
- 27:20Speaker 1: Married with Children, you would be.
- 27:22Speaker 2: Correct, and that would be our generation.
- 27:33Speaker 1: Just like our generation. This list has its flaws, but
- 27:38Speaker 1: for the most part, I'm okay with them.
- 27:41Speaker 3: When he really needed to show up, he did, you know,
- 27:43Speaker 3: when he beat the crap out of that guy that
- 27:45Speaker 3: hurt Kelly, and you know all those times he did
- 27:49Speaker 3: step in to stand up for his wife and his
- 27:51Speaker 3: family and all that. But it really really mattered. He
- 27:54Speaker 3: was there.
- 27:55Speaker 2: Yeah, the satellite Dish. Fantastic episode. He gets electrocuted and
- 28:02Speaker 2: falls off the roof, but still loves his family.
- 28:07Speaker 1: And let's not forget his four touchdown game whole high
- 28:10Speaker 1: school rise. Maybe that's what got in the top slot.

- 29:05Speaker 1: tree House Show. I'm Dan, He's trade. There's Raj. That
- 29:08Speaker 1: is Jerry called well. Today is Friday, June fourteenth, twenty
- 29:10Speaker 1: twenty five. Then a father centric show today because Father's
- 29:15Speaker 1: Day is coming up on Sunday. Raj, we need to
- 29:18Speaker 1: go back to this you mentioned it earlier. Why is
- 29:20Speaker 1: it you think you found my biolog How is it
- 29:23Speaker 1: you think you found my biological father.
- 29:26Speaker 2: Well before we came on the air, I was watching
- 29:30Speaker 2: as I do HLN, and they have forensic Files on
- 29:34Speaker 2: and I don't know if it was forensic files, but
- 29:36Speaker 2: it's one of the shows where they're talking about, you know,
- 29:38Speaker 2: small town this and small town And there was a
- 29:41Speaker 2: baby boy who was in the eighties kidnapped and taken
- 29:45Speaker 2: to more, Oklahoma. And I don't know how far that's
- 29:48Speaker 2: from where you were traded in the walmart, but I
- 29:53Speaker 2: am glad that those of the other family had the receipt.
- 29:57Speaker 1: Real quick, let me fill in the gap here. I
- 30:00Speaker 1: was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and for three months I
- 30:02Speaker 1: was in foster care. And when my parents came to
- 30:05Speaker 1: pick me up from the State of Oklahoma Health and
- 30:08Speaker 1: Human Services in Oklahoma City, they were given the wrong baby.
- 30:14Speaker 1: Another couple had taken me somewhere south or west of
- 30:19Speaker 1: Oklahoma City to their town, and my dad and my
- 30:25Speaker 1: mom had waited years to get matched with a baby,
- 30:28Speaker 1: which was me. They wanted me. They didn't want this
- 30:30Speaker 1: other kid that somebody else been matched with, So they
- 30:33Speaker 1: decided to meet halfway between Oklahoma City and the town
- 30:36Speaker 1: where these people had already gotten me home, and it
- 30:38Speaker 1: happened to be in a Walmart parking lot. They made
- 30:40Speaker 1: the switch, and that's all she wrote. I don't know
- 30:43Speaker 1: what town that was in, and my Oklahoma geography is fuzzy,
- 30:49Speaker 1: like my memories when I was three months old, so
- 30:51Speaker 1: I don't know which Walmart in Oklahoma they did the swap.
- 30:56Speaker 1: I don't know if More, Oklahoma is west or southwest
- 30:59Speaker 1: of Oklahoma City.
- 31:00Speaker 8: If it is, then More Oklahoma's south of Oklahoma City,
- 31:03Speaker 8: right smack Dad between Norman and Oklahoma.
- 31:05Speaker 1: City, so it could have been more. Tell me more
- 31:09Speaker 1: about who you think might be my biological daddy.
- 31:11Speaker 2: Well, they actually exchanged you and not for store credit,
- 31:14Speaker 2: so that's good. But the husband and wife abducted a child.
- 31:23Speaker 2: And that's why I think it's your dad, because they
- 31:26Speaker 2: went to the hotel motel that they were hold up in,
- 31:30Speaker 2: and as the police surrounded the motel, they banged on
- 31:34Speaker 2: the door and yelled for the father. I can't remember
- 31:36Speaker 2: his name, but they yelled for the dad to come out,
- 31:39Speaker 2: and he wouldn't and they kept banging on the door
- 31:41Speaker 2: and he kept going, what what like you need to
- 31:44Speaker 2: come out? We're checking on your welfare. And he goes,
- 31:46Speaker 2: they didn't ask anything. They said, come out, we're checking
- 31:49Speaker 2: on your welfare. And he says out loud, I ain't got.
- 31:52Speaker 9: No baby in here.
- 31:55Speaker 1: Dad.
- 32:00Speaker 2: They didn't even ask that man if he had abducted
- 32:02Speaker 2: a child. He just yells out the first communication he
- 32:05Speaker 2: has and goes, I ain't got no baby in here.
- 32:07Speaker 2: And the way he said it, I was like, that's
- 32:09Speaker 2: dand's dead.
- 32:10Speaker 1: That doesn't sound anything like me.
- 32:14Speaker 2: I know, but it does sound like you're dad. He
- 32:19Speaker 2: just automatically gave forth information for no reason.
- 32:24Speaker 1: Nobody asked did you get a name? Like, did you
- 32:27Speaker 1: get a last name for him or the or the lady?
- 32:31Speaker 2: The last name. I didn't get the first name, but
- 32:33Speaker 2: the last name was Walter Walters. Is what I got
- 32:37Speaker 2: was the last name.
- 32:38Speaker 1: And so here's one of the mysteries of my youth.
- 32:41Speaker 1: All right, So, uh, my birth certificate, like Obama, is
- 32:47Speaker 1: not an actual birth certificate. It's a certificate of live
- 32:50Speaker 1: birth because I guess they didn't hand him out to
- 32:55Speaker 1: the rescue babies. I don't know. So so on my
- 33:02Speaker 1: on on my adoption decree, Okay, my adoption decree that
- 33:08Speaker 1: my parents got when they when they got me where
- 33:10Speaker 1: it changes my name to their name?
- 33:13Speaker 2: Right?
- 33:15Speaker 1: My given name was baby boy Guffy. Oh so I
- 33:21Speaker 1: didn't even get a first name.
- 33:23Speaker 2: What if that was your first name? You're so lucky.
- 33:27Speaker 2: What if you was just Guffy O'Malley.
- 33:29Speaker 1: So so, I'm just assumed for forty five years that
- 33:32Speaker 1: my given that my first name as a baby, baby
- 33:36Speaker 1: boy Guffy. I just assumed it was a placeholder, and
- 33:40Speaker 1: Guffey was the surname of probably my mom.
- 33:44Speaker 2: Mm hmm.
- 33:45Speaker 1: But you're saying, what if they actually named me baby boy?
- 33:50Speaker 1: Oh god? I can never watch Dirty.
- 33:52Speaker 2: Dancing again, at least not in the corner.
- 34:00Speaker 1: Or is that the only place I should watch it
- 34:02Speaker 1: and just just patiently wait for the ghost of Patrick
- 34:05Speaker 1: Swayzee to come get me.
- 34:07Speaker 2: He would never have a show in a million years.
- 34:09Speaker 2: If your name was Guffy O'Malley, you would be a
- 34:14Speaker 2: bandito or some like in the petty And you know
- 34:17Speaker 2: who shot first, Guffie o'melly.
- 34:20Speaker 1: I feel like that would be better than baby O'Malley.
- 34:24Speaker 2: Baby O'Malley sounds like a gangster in the twenties. No
- 34:27Speaker 2: one to get there, Oh, baby O'Malley.
- 34:29Speaker 1: I'll knock off this Walmart's here, I'll find him. Yeah,
- 34:37Speaker 1: so I assume the Guffy last name. I'm assuming that
- 34:41Speaker 1: was my mom's last name, because what little information I
- 34:44Speaker 1: have about my biological parents was that they were not married.
- 34:47Speaker 1: So I'm assuming the last name I would get on
- 34:49Speaker 1: that initial paperwork would be my mom's, not my dad's.
- 34:52Speaker 2: Yeah, and I'm pretty sure they weren't married, because he
- 34:55Speaker 2: ended up doing twenty two years in Oklahoma City Jail
- 35:00Speaker 2: Oklahoma Penitentiary. She was also being held housted because he
- 35:04Speaker 2: wanted to give her a baby, so she ended up
- 35:08Speaker 2: getting the child, and they rescued her and arrested him.
- 35:12Speaker 2: She was not part of the abduction plot, and then
- 35:14Speaker 2: the baby was returned to its rightful owners or parents,
- 35:18Speaker 2: whatever you want.
- 35:20Speaker 1: Technically, I don't know what there's I think they do.
- 35:23Speaker 2: I don't know, do you do? You still have to
- 35:25Speaker 2: feed them? I don't know how it works, but yeah,
- 35:27Speaker 2: they were returned to the people that were in the
- 35:30Speaker 2: Walmart parking lot. I don't know how it works.
- 35:32Speaker 1: You know what, Raj, It's possible, It's possible. Maybe I
- 35:35Speaker 1: maybe I was the baby in that episode of Forensic
- 35:37Speaker 1: Files you were watching. I have no way of knowing.
- 35:40Speaker 2: Yeah, well every time, you know, if you you know,
- 35:42Speaker 2: if you see sirens and and hear sirens and see
- 35:45Speaker 2: the red, white and blues and you kind of flinch,
- 35:48Speaker 2: maybe that's because that's who saved you in Oklahoma and
- 35:51Speaker 2: took you to your now parents or then parents. I
- 35:54Speaker 2: don't know how it works, but yeah, that's they. It
- 35:57Speaker 2: all came to a wonderful conclusion. Everybody got the maybe
- 36:00Speaker 2: she got on with her life and he ended up
- 36:02Speaker 2: being someone's bride in prison.
- 36:04Speaker 1: It would actually be pretty fitting for me because normal
- 36:08Speaker 1: kids get delivered by stork and then I got dropped
- 36:10Speaker 1: off by swat.
- 36:14Speaker 8: And honestly, you know, if if you were to say
- 36:17Speaker 8: baby boy Guffy and you saw a man with a
- 36:20Speaker 8: helmet and a big pencil, you would the name would
- 36:22Speaker 8: be fitting.
- 36:24Speaker 2: Unlike the helmet.

- 37:06Speaker 1: This is the Treehouse show. I'm Dan, He's Trade. There's Raj.
- 37:10Speaker 1: That is Jerry Caldwell. Today is Fred Day, June fourteenth,
- 37:18Speaker 1: twenty twenty five. Let's celebrate today with birthdays. He is Kickass.
- 37:26Speaker 1: He's also Quicksilver in Avengers Age of Ultron. He's Aaron
- 37:31Speaker 1: Taylor Johnson, thirty five years old today. He's thirty five
- 37:35Speaker 1: years old today, Aaron Taylor Johnson. Let's see, he was
- 37:41Speaker 1: also he was also on Bullet Train and he is
- 37:46Speaker 1: also rumored to be up for the new James Bond role.
- 37:52Speaker 1: Aaron Taylor Johnson started out as Kickass and could end
- 37:56Speaker 1: up as the next James Bond.
- 37:58Speaker 2: It's pretty cool.
- 38:00Speaker 1: And for those that don't know, while he is thirty
- 38:03Speaker 1: five today, his wife is Hollywood director Sam Taylor Wood.
- 38:10Speaker 1: She is fifty eight.
- 38:14Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 38:15Speaker 2: Interesting.
- 38:16Speaker 1: So when they got married, he was Aaron Johnson and
- 38:20Speaker 1: she was Sam Wood and or something like that, and
- 38:23Speaker 1: they combined like they co hyphenated their last names. So
- 38:27Speaker 1: he's Aaron Taylor Johnson, she's Sam Taylor Wood. And there's
- 38:32Speaker 1: also if you're on Instagram long enough, like I've been
- 38:35Speaker 1: some nights, regrettably, you'll see a little suggested real and
- 38:38Speaker 1: it'll be of because I follow a lot of Marvel
- 38:41Speaker 1: stuff and he's been in Marvel stuff. He's also Craven
- 38:44Speaker 1: the Hunter and that one that flopped recently. There's a
- 38:49Speaker 1: video of him on the red carpet for one of
- 38:52Speaker 1: his movie premieres. And his right side is his wife,
- 38:57Speaker 1: who's fifty eight. She directed fifty s Age to Gray,
- 39:00Speaker 1: by the way, and on his left is her daughter,
- 39:04Speaker 1: his stepdaughter. And when you see the three of them
- 39:08Speaker 1: all standing together, it doesn't look very obvious as to
- 39:12Speaker 1: who the actual wife is.
- 39:16Speaker 2: It's the one eating soup.
- 39:23Speaker 1: You want some more soup, mama?
- 39:25Speaker 2: Okay?
- 39:27Speaker 1: Anyway, other birthdays today we were talking about the best
- 39:30Speaker 1: dads of all time. Danny Tanner from Full House was
- 39:33Speaker 1: on the list. Today is Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen's birthdays.
- 39:37Speaker 1: They are thirty nine today, the twins from Full House
- 39:40Speaker 1: thirty nine.
- 39:41Speaker 2: No, that's also how much they weigh. That's also how
- 39:44Speaker 2: much they weigh individually, nine pounds.
- 39:48Speaker 1: That is actually a good question to ask. I wonder
- 39:50Speaker 1: what weighs more Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, or the
- 39:53Speaker 1: carton of cigarettes they each smoke a day.
- 40:00Speaker 4: Or how their sister ended up having a better career.
- 40:03Speaker 1: Yeah, speaking of Marvel people.
- 40:05Speaker 8: Uh, but god, that makes I mean I remember the
- 40:09Speaker 8: Olsen countdown clock to eighteen.
- 40:12Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, God's just god, that was a long time ago. Yeah, man,
- 40:19Speaker 1: were we were something back then? Yeah, and so were they.
- 40:24Speaker 1: I'm not sure which one, Mary Kate or Ashley, but
- 40:28Speaker 1: one of them got married to some French guy years ago.
- 40:32Speaker 1: And when you go to weddings, sometimes as a guest
- 40:37Speaker 1: of the wedding, you'll get a favor, a party favor,
- 40:40Speaker 1: wedding favor. It's a tiny gift from the bride and
- 40:43Speaker 1: groom for their guests. For Mary Kate or Ashley Olsen's wedding,
- 40:49Speaker 1: whichever one it was. Their their wedding favorite was cigarettes
- 40:54Speaker 1: on every table at the reception. Oh wow, I mean.
- 41:00Speaker 2: His name, who's his name, Philippe Morris.
- 41:04Speaker 1: Probably.
- 41:06Speaker 2: Oh that's so that's so gross. I'm so fitting. I
- 41:10Speaker 2: love it.
- 41:11Speaker 1: I'm realizing now that today is actually a very Marvel
- 41:15Speaker 1: heavy birthday day. So you got the Olsen twins who
- 41:18Speaker 1: were not in Marvel, but their sister Elizabeth is as
- 41:20Speaker 1: a scarlet witch. Aaron Taylor Johnson was Quicksilver in Age
- 41:24Speaker 1: of Oltron. Kat Dinnings is thirty eight. She's from Two
- 41:28Speaker 1: Broke Girls, The Forty year Old Virgin, and she was
- 41:31Speaker 1: in the Thor movies. Chris Evans, Captain America is forty
- 41:37Speaker 1: four today. Oh yeah, okay, I'm not yep. Stellin Scarsguard
- 41:46Speaker 1: is seventy four today. He is the phenomenal Swedish actor
- 41:50Speaker 1: who plays Eric Selvig in the Thor and Avengers movies.
- 41:54Speaker 1: And by the way, just for a little quick, you
- 41:56Speaker 1: know thing, because we'll occasionally talk about Star Wars on
- 41:59Speaker 1: the show, he plays a rebel spy handler. It's part
- 42:04Speaker 1: of the rebellion in Star Wars on the show. And
- 42:07Speaker 1: or he is so good. The show is really good.
- 42:13Speaker 1: It's it's it's you know, it's very character driven heavy,
- 42:17Speaker 1: and you know, it's it doesn't really have any lightsabers,
- 42:21Speaker 1: but it's just a really quality show. And he is
- 42:23Speaker 1: phenomenal in it.
- 42:25Speaker 2: Has he related to the other stars Guard the other two?
- 42:29Speaker 1: Yes, although I don't know in which manner. I don't
- 42:32Speaker 1: know if he's daddy or if he's uncle, or if
- 42:36Speaker 1: if I'm being honest, if it's actually just coincidence, and
- 42:38Speaker 1: maybe where they're from. Scars Guard is like Smith in America,
- 42:43Speaker 1: because no actor though, I mean, what's that?
- 42:46Speaker 4: So he's just he's a phenomenal actor.
- 42:48Speaker 8: Yeah, going back to like I remember Goodwill hunting is
- 42:51Speaker 8: I think is where I probably.
- 42:55Speaker 2: Yes, okay, gotcha, Yeah he is great. Yeah, okay, I
- 43:01Speaker 2: didn't know he was a stars Guard. Yes, that's just
- 43:04Speaker 2: there's the there's uh. Then there's the two younger Scars guards.
- 43:10Speaker 2: One of them, one of them played Tarzan in a
- 43:13Speaker 2: in a Tarzan remake that was actually pretty good if
- 43:16Speaker 2: I'm being honest.
- 43:17Speaker 9: Uh.
- 43:17Speaker 1: And the other one, uh Bill plays penny Wise, the
- 43:20Speaker 1: clown and the new it Uh stuff.
- 43:24Speaker 2: Oh, very cool. That should be like, that should be
- 43:26Speaker 2: They should hold up that name when they're giving you
- 43:28Speaker 2: a field sobriety test. And if you can say stars
- 43:31Speaker 2: Guard correctly, you can go home. Uh.
- 43:35Speaker 1: Scars stars Guard is what they hand out at Chinese airports.

- 45:06Speaker 8: Walter scars Guard all his kids and actually he has.
- 45:09Speaker 2: Like seven, but oh my god.
- 45:11Speaker 8: But the three Alexander you mentioned, Bill you mentioned, then
- 45:14Speaker 8: Gustaf you've also if he's been in some stuff that
- 45:17Speaker 8: you would like, evil and and like some movies that
- 45:22Speaker 8: you you might know. Uh so obviously talented children too.
- 45:26Speaker 8: I must have been a good father.
- 45:28Speaker 2: Yeah, but when it comes to the names, like one
- 45:31Speaker 2: of them clearly was just not as loved like you got,
- 45:34Speaker 2: like alex and then Volta.
- 45:37Speaker 1: Yeah, can you give those two us against You've got
- 45:39Speaker 1: Alexander scars Guard, Bill Scars Guard, those the ones I know, Gustaf,
- 45:43Speaker 1: Gustaf and then Voltron Scars Guard Walter like Walter, sorry,
- 45:48Speaker 1: Valter Valter Okay.
- 45:51Speaker 4: And then there's a girl eha e I j A.
- 45:55Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 45:56Speaker 2: Yeah, but the one that just got named Bill like
- 45:58Speaker 2: they didn't care anymore.
- 46:00Speaker 1: Maybe that's his nickname. Yeah, maybe his name is Vilhelm. Yeah,
- 46:08Speaker 1: he just goes by Bill.
- 46:11Speaker 2: I'm Gustav. This is my brother Bill.
- 46:19Speaker 1: Okay, so let's let's let's revisit our best TV Dads
- 46:22Speaker 1: of All Time? H Is there a name that we
- 46:27Speaker 1: didn't mention? Was there name that was glaringly omitted from
- 46:31Speaker 1: the Best TV Dads of All Time? List?
- 46:33Speaker 2: Yes? And I'm appalled at this list that Jim Walsh
- 46:39Speaker 2: James Eckhouse was not from nine oh two one oh
- 46:41Speaker 2: Beverly Hills nine o two one oh was not on
- 46:44Speaker 2: the list.
- 46:44Speaker 9: He shouldn't be.
- 46:45Speaker 1: Do you see all the problems his kid has or
- 46:48Speaker 1: his kids had? Was it one of his daughters played
- 46:51Speaker 1: by Shannon Doherty immediately exclusion from the Best Dad's list?
- 46:55Speaker 2: No? No, I mean he saved her so many times.
- 46:58Speaker 2: And Brandon when he had his gambling problem and his
- 47:00Speaker 2: drinking problem. Jim was there.
- 47:03Speaker 1: I think you should have been there more. Maybe he
- 47:05Speaker 1: would have been able to have the children avoid these problems.
- 47:08Speaker 2: You wanted to give them their independence. He's a loving father.
- 47:13Speaker 4: Was Alan Thick on there for growing Pains?
- 47:16Speaker 2: Yes he was okay, but not John Schneider Jonathan Kent
- 47:20Speaker 2: from Smallville?
- 47:21Speaker 1: No? Really, he had to raise Superman. Yeah he did
- 47:24Speaker 1: not Ultimate Dad. Well, not only that, but it was
- 47:27Speaker 1: teenage Superman and you know those I mean, it's I mean,
- 47:30Speaker 1: you think about it, that show had some amazing potential
- 47:33Speaker 1: for other storylines because they just focused on high school Superman,
- 47:37Speaker 1: when really it could have been a combination of Superman
- 47:40Speaker 1: meets the Wonder Years, and you could have had some
- 47:43Speaker 1: really interesting questions asked that we've all wondered about, like
- 47:46Speaker 1: what's it like to hook up with Superman? Because I
- 47:49Speaker 1: think the conversation's always had where it's like what happens
- 47:52Speaker 1: when he goes? Oh, like what happens to her? Does
- 47:54Speaker 1: does she go? And then you know, does she go?
- 47:59Speaker 2: I think they cover it when they say he's faster
- 48:01Speaker 2: than a speeding bullet.
- 48:06Speaker 1: That answers all the questions right there. For all things Treehouse,
