- 0:00Speaker 1: It makes me fall in love. Is when a community
- 0:01Speaker 1: gets together and helps out. And if you haven't heard
- 0:05Speaker 1: this earlier, we were out and about this KFM ninety
- 0:08Speaker 1: four point five. We wanted to just go into the
- 0:10Speaker 1: communities who are affected by that storm. Now, even the
- 0:13Speaker 1: aftermath of the storm. I know it's not storming right now,
- 0:16Speaker 1: but sure, can I tell you there are still areas
- 0:18Speaker 1: that are flooded, still areas that are without electricity. We
- 0:22Speaker 1: chatted to somebody just yesterday out in a Voosta Way,
- 0:26Speaker 1: Villierstorp Way and their little town. There's no connection, not
- 0:29Speaker 1: even Wi Fi signal. It's a really big big thing.
- 0:33Speaker 1: And we couldn't just sit around as a radio station
- 0:35Speaker 1: and not do anything. And that's why Cassidy the team,
- 0:38Speaker 1: they were out and about. They were doing their thing
- 0:41Speaker 1: and I love this team. The team is also known
- 0:45Speaker 1: as the KFM Crew driven by Jatare. One of them
- 0:48Speaker 1: has been so kind as to answer my call. And
- 0:51Speaker 1: I appreciate that, Dylan, because I know you're very busy,
- 0:54Speaker 1: you're very busy person, but you answered my call. Thank you,
- 0:58Speaker 1: thank you for being here.
- 1:00Speaker 2: Our Yes yeah, oh really yeah, yes. When I see
- 1:04Speaker 2: that number, when I see it, I will answered.
- 1:06Speaker 1: Immediately, well, thank you for answering this one. I know
- 1:09Speaker 1: that you were out and about Feed the Nation Foundation. No, no,
- 1:12Speaker 1: that's Pick and Pays hunger relief initiative. We decided to
- 1:16Speaker 1: join them. Tell me about, you know, just what you
- 1:19Speaker 1: were actually up to, you know, arriving there, and what
- 1:23Speaker 1: the work was done, you know actually on the ground.
- 1:25Speaker 1: I'd love to know bit more about that.
- 1:27Speaker 2: That was an amazing call. So we first of all
- 1:29Speaker 2: went to this this amazing lady in kay Lecher that
- 1:33Speaker 2: feeds that was cooking up a storm. She feeds me
- 1:36Speaker 2: in the community three days a week. And we were there.
- 1:39Speaker 2: Of course Ash was sprepping the saw and Tasco came
- 1:42Speaker 2: on board. Tasko was there with the loads of breads,
- 1:45Speaker 2: the crates of bread and we of course that was
- 1:47Speaker 2: our location. We all met up there and we went
- 1:49Speaker 2: to green Point Wall in Kyriature. It was about ten
- 1:52Speaker 2: minutes drive away, and I tell you there was people waiting.
- 1:55Speaker 2: The atmosphere was just amazing. I mean there was a
- 1:59Speaker 2: bit of emotion, there was just but the important part
- 2:02Speaker 2: for me called about the unity and right, it was
- 2:04Speaker 2: about the unity that people came out and they supported
- 2:08Speaker 2: and when we got to Greenbourne or there was there
- 2:11Speaker 2: was little ones, there was moms, they were there. It
- 2:14Speaker 2: was just everybody was there. But when I tell you,
- 2:16Speaker 2: it was Cso it was amazing given given the fact
- 2:19Speaker 2: that of course we come out of a storm and
- 2:21Speaker 2: it and it was devastating and it affected so many
- 2:24Speaker 2: people within the community. And this was just one way
- 2:28Speaker 2: of we can pay and see the nation. And of
- 2:30Speaker 2: course we gave him to grieve back to say we
- 2:32Speaker 2: are yeah, we see, we see your need and were
- 2:35Speaker 2: yet to help you out with what the abe is
- 2:36Speaker 2: that you need. And then like you said, the weather
- 2:38Speaker 2: is great so we could do this. And we thought
- 2:41Speaker 2: we're gonna still see some trees fallen down and all
- 2:45Speaker 2: those things. But I think now given that the weather's
- 2:47Speaker 2: cleared up, we could clear so many things, like the
- 2:49Speaker 2: city could clear up so many things. And it gave
- 2:51Speaker 2: us an opportunity to go into the community and say
- 2:54Speaker 2: we are.
- 2:54Speaker 1: Here, Lick commend Well. The thing is, it's not done yet.
- 2:57Speaker 1: I feel like there are still many people who would
- 2:59Speaker 1: like to as maybe their organizations, their brands, them as individuals,
- 3:04Speaker 1: are there still some ways we can help out.
- 3:06Speaker 2: Of course, of course we'd love for you to help
- 3:09Speaker 2: out and listen to help out. So what they could
- 3:11Speaker 2: do is they can donate anything essential, blankets, whatever it
- 3:15Speaker 2: is that you can help us out with. You can
- 3:17Speaker 2: go to a pick and Page store across the province
- 3:20Speaker 2: to make your donation and that is where we feed.
- 3:23Speaker 2: The foundation would of course distribute that to disaster management
- 3:27Speaker 2: and they will of course distributed to the various communities.
- 3:29Speaker 2: So of course if you close to pay in a
- 3:32Speaker 2: pickn Pain by all means dons donate every bit help.
- 3:36Speaker 1: Dylan, thank you so much for answering my call once
- 3:38Speaker 1: again and for being such a committed member of the
- 3:40Speaker 1: k FROM crew driven by Jator. We appreciate you and
- 3:44Speaker 1: all the best. Stay warm and stay safe.
- 3:46Speaker 2: Thank you so much. God likewise, chat you to.
- 3:49Speaker 1: It very soon. All pick and based stores, as Della mentioned,
- 3:52Speaker 1: are access points for you to donate and do what
- 3:55Speaker 1: you can to support those in your community. We'd really
- 3:58Speaker 1: appreciate that. Also, check out KF on social media today
