Transcript
- 0:01[SPEAKER_03]: Welcome to the Mile High Huddle Podcast with your football priests, Chad Jensen, and Zach Kilmerman.
- 0:08[SPEAKER_03]: Remember, Broncos Country is not a geographical location.
- 0:12[SPEAKER_03]: It's a state of being.
- 0:20[SPEAKER_03]: Welcome in everybody to the mile-high hotel podcast.
- 0:22[SPEAKER_03]: I'm your host, Chad Jensen, and with me is my fellow football priest.
- 0:25[SPEAKER_03]: You know him, you love him.
- 0:27[SPEAKER_03]: Zach Kelverman, Zach, it's the off season.
- 0:29[SPEAKER_03]: We expect to see the ubiquitous lists and rankings.
- 0:33[SPEAKER_03]: So I guess in one sense, I should tip my cap to Fandwell for giving us something to talk about.
- 0:38[SPEAKER_03]: But today, I just got to ask, did you see there, what was it?
- 0:42[SPEAKER_03]: Year two and year three quarterback rankings that had Bonyx at number four, or what were your thoughts?
- 0:49[SPEAKER_02]: I haven't seen that, but I would have to know of course Chad the context who was ahead of him who was behind him.
- 0:56[SPEAKER_02]: I'm trying to understand it's just ranking the second and third year quarterbacks.
- 1:00[SPEAKER_02]: That's it.
- 1:00[SPEAKER_03]: So here I'll pull it up real quick.
- 1:02[SPEAKER_03]: I'll tell you, I'll give you better setup there.
- 1:05[SPEAKER_03]: So it was only the year two and year three quarterbacks.
- 1:09[SPEAKER_03]: So they have it ranked
- 1:17[SPEAKER_03]: All two familiar phases here, Jaden Daniels number three, Bonyx for Cam Ward five.
- 1:23[SPEAKER_03]: That's the top five and then real quick.
- 1:25[SPEAKER_03]: Tyler shook at six, Jackson dart at seven, Michael Pentech's junior at eight, J. J. McCarthy nine, should do our Sanders 10.
- 1:31[SPEAKER_02]: I feel like both should at least at minimum be number three.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know about putting Jaden Daniels because he had a washed out sophomore season.
- 1:38[SPEAKER_02]: I know he had a pretty good rookie season, but he did nothing last year and he, uh,
- 1:43[SPEAKER_02]: and you oppose that by what Bo Nix did leading within a game within the Super Bowl.
- 1:48[SPEAKER_02]: You can make an argument for one or two, but he should at least be number three.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_03]: I argue number one.
- 1:55[SPEAKER_03]: And people, there's a, I mean, a lot of folks Zach outside of Denver.
- 1:59[SPEAKER_03]: They roll their eyes and they're going to say, what are you talking about?
- 2:01[SPEAKER_03]: He has no pro bowls.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_03]: He has no all pros.
- 2:05[SPEAKER_03]: He didn't even win rookie of the year.
- 2:07[SPEAKER_03]: How could you put bone nicks above Drake may, Caleb Williams or Jayden and or Jayden Daniels?
- 2:13[SPEAKER_03]: And it really is that just comes down to the numbers.
- 2:16[SPEAKER_03]: You cannot argue the numbers.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_03]: Most wins.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_03]: most yards, most touchdowns.
- 2:23[SPEAKER_03]: And by the way, two of those three quarterbacks that were ranked ahead of him, I hear this.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, well, Bo was a day one starter.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_03]: Well, so was Caleb Williams and so was Jayden Daniels.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_03]: Now, Jayden Daniels got hurt in year two as you brought up.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_03]: And that was one of our big concerns.
- 2:38[SPEAKER_03]: He might be the most talented guy out of all of them.
- 2:40[SPEAKER_03]: But the big concern coming out of college, obviously, was Kenny, Kenny, Kenny stay healthy.
- 2:45[SPEAKER_03]: Is he durable?
- 2:46[SPEAKER_03]: Can he hold
- 2:48[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and when that with that wiery frame, there's always until he bulk stuff, shit, at or unless he'll bulk stuff, there's always going to be the stigma of whether he's injury prone.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 2:57[SPEAKER_02]: I'm a, even if I wasn't covering the Broncos, I still would be higher on bone nicks than I would be on Jaden Daniels.
- 3:03[SPEAKER_03]: Guys, we've got plenty to talk about tonight, even though again, it's the 24th day of June.
- 3:08[SPEAKER_03]: Guys, we're going to get to training camp.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_03]: It's going to be here before you know it.
- 3:11[SPEAKER_03]: But tonight we're excited because we kicked our superstar segment can down the road by two days, because we wanted to make sure it could line up.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_03]: with our guests tonight's schedule because he's in a unique situation.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_03]: He's one of the guys that really exemplifies the hashtag the MHH hashtag state of being right Broncos country is not a geographic location.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_03]: It is a state of being which means it is wherever you are and this particular superstar and dear member and dear friend Glenn Ashley happens to be in Australia.
- 3:45[SPEAKER_03]: So let's bring him on Glenn Ashley.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_01]: Good morning, everyone, from the CF crisis of Australia in a mall, high salute.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_03]: So he's we're actually like in a time funnel right now, because for us, it's six, 11, mountain time on Wednesday, but for Glenn, it's just after 10 a.m. on Thursday.
- 4:05[SPEAKER_03]: But anyway, dude, thank you for making time for us.
- 4:08[SPEAKER_03]: We've been looking forward to this big dog.
- 4:10[SPEAKER_03]: And I got to ask you, and I'm sure people are going to wonder, what's with your, your moniker here, the sheriff, explain that to us.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_01]: So I've been doing the juice podcast with Kenny and Trevor for the past seven weeks.
- 4:25[SPEAKER_01]: They got me on their show during the draft and their group including Jody is the forehorsesman along with Keith Brugman.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_01]: So I thought, well, you can't have fight horsemen and they're a bit young and, you know, need to be put under control sometime.
- 4:42[SPEAKER_01]: So the sheriff Monica fitted
- 4:47[SPEAKER_01]: Peyton Manning's more all-time favorite bronco.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_01]: Plenty of cowboy hats in the cupboard being, you know, having an Australian country family.
- 4:53[SPEAKER_01]: So that's where the sheriff came from.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_01]: So I run with it.
- 4:57[SPEAKER_03]: Nice.
- 4:58[SPEAKER_02]: Glenn I told you before the pot I want to thank you for all you've done for the many years you go back supporting the podcast I genuinely mean that man I'm not trying to sound disingenuous you've been incredible throughout these years and everything but since it's your first appearance on the podcast we all want to know what we asked this about everyone what is your Broncos Mount Rushmore I know I'm putting you on the spot but four players that will make the the list free
- 5:22[SPEAKER_01]: It's so hard, like when I go back in history, I struggle behind what I've watched.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_01]: So I sort of try and put a lens on it of what I've seen.
- 5:32[SPEAKER_01]: I would have to go away, Manning, Von Miller, and God rests his soul, D.T.
- 5:39[SPEAKER_03]: Love it.
- 5:40[SPEAKER_03]: All right, I'm just getting this locked in.
- 5:43[SPEAKER_03]: I'm getting this locked in because I'm running it, oh, come on, run it as a ticker, what the heck, man?
- 5:49[SPEAKER_03]: It's trying to, there we go, I'm gonna do this.
- 5:51[SPEAKER_03]: Bam, well, that work, yeah, ad banner, like this.
- 5:54[SPEAKER_03]: So we got it right, John L.A. Peyton Manning, Von Miller, and the late great Demarius Thomas.
- 5:59[SPEAKER_03]: That's a pretty solid Mount Rushmore, if I don't say so myself.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_03]: Now, I know a lot of people, Gwen, will be wondering
- 6:10[SPEAKER_03]: could become not only a Broncos fan, but a diehard Broncos fan, and someone who's like really into and quite knowledgeable about the draft.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_03]: But let's set the drafting aside.
- 6:21[SPEAKER_03]: How did you become a Broncos fan?
- 6:24[SPEAKER_01]: So in Australia, Melbourne is known and in the world as a sporting capital of the world.
- 6:29[SPEAKER_01]: We love all of our sports and my grandfather played elite level of strain football.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_01]: So he was an NFL fan and back in the 80s, we used to get two games a week plus the Super Bowl and the playoffs.
- 6:43[SPEAKER_01]: And everyone went for the giants.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_01]: They went for the cowboys.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_01]: They went for the
- 6:54[SPEAKER_01]: in that small period, but I didn't really select them full hard.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_01]: It was like, they're my team for now.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_01]: Then I watched Peyton Manning go through college, so my allegiances were like, right, I'm going to go for wherever Peyton Manning goes.
- 7:08[SPEAKER_01]: Broncos was my second team, Colts were my first team, and then the trade happened, and it was bliss.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_01]: It was never bliss.
- 7:16[SPEAKER_03]: You never went back to the culture.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_01]: No, and if I had of chosen a team in the 90s, it would have been the Cowboys, because Troy Ackman was my favorite player as a child before our always-time.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_01]: I just loved how physical and feacy was and how much hits he could take like, as you know, with our Australian game, no pads, no helmets, 360 game.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_01]: We are BS crazy, you know what I mean?
- 7:42[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah.
- 7:44[SPEAKER_03]: And I learned by the way that BS, if we were to actually say it, like that means like cool, like this is some BS, that in Australia, at least with these dudes that I did an interview with not too long ago, they were using it like BS means like, all this is some BS, that'd be like, this is dope, this is some BS.
- 8:02[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 8:03[SPEAKER_01]: So you've got bat s and bs.
- 8:06[SPEAKER_03]: Right.
- 8:07[SPEAKER_01]: But very, very similar.
- 8:09[SPEAKER_01]: A lot of words that you guys have in the vernacular that you would look down on.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_03]: Right.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_01]: We can use them in a really positive way.
- 8:16[SPEAKER_01]: You can call your friends things that Americans would frown at and we're literally using it as a term of indiament.
- 8:24[SPEAKER_02]: I'm gonna have to get a list from you after the podcast cleanse so I can use them my daily life But yeah, I have so many questions for you.
- 8:31[SPEAKER_02]: Super Bowl 50 doesn't count give me your favorite memory You've experienced as a Broncos fan.
- 8:38[SPEAKER_01]: I wouldn't count Super Bowl 50.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_01]: I would I would go to Manning seven touchdowns and and may wanting to smash my television because I wanted him to get a When they benched you yeah
- 8:52[SPEAKER_01]: I wanted all the records.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_03]: He could have, too.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_03]: He could have gotten hit that day.
- 8:57[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so yeah, give me that.
- 8:59[SPEAKER_01]: But also also give me the the first playoff game of Bernick's winning.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_02]: Great pull.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 9:08[SPEAKER_01]: Seriously.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_01]: Everyone contributed.
- 9:12[SPEAKER_03]: True.
- 9:13[SPEAKER_01]: That I really feel right now that way are in the position to build a dynasty.
- 9:19[SPEAKER_01]: The way we've drafted, we've just got to fill out our running back room a little bit more and hopefully Coleman does what he needs to do.
- 9:25[SPEAKER_01]: And Zach and I have been saying this for the early 10 years, get us a hard-wrenched line backer.
- 9:33[SPEAKER_01]: Man, get us a new defensive coach because VJ, you don't know how to use a coverage line backer.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_01]: So bring any young minds, give us someone who can cover tight ends, the defense could run themselves.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_03]: love it.
- 9:51[SPEAKER_03]: That's good stuff.
- 9:52[SPEAKER_03]: All right.
- 9:52[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, so we've learned how you became a Broncos fan.
- 9:56[SPEAKER_03]: We got your Mount Rushmore.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_03]: We know your favorite moment.
- 10:00[SPEAKER_03]: Let's talk about Bonix.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_03]: You're saying, hey, look, man.
- 10:03[SPEAKER_03]: We could be in the beginning of a dinastic future with the Denver Broncos.
- 10:08[SPEAKER_03]: Talk more about why you are so bullish on that.
- 10:12[SPEAKER_01]: I just think Berenix is one out of the box.
- 10:15[SPEAKER_01]: He's almost got an 80-star mindset and attitude as to the way he goes about things.
- 10:21[SPEAKER_01]: And he's so humble.
- 10:23[SPEAKER_01]: We haven't given him all the tools to succeed the way he needs to.
- 10:28[SPEAKER_01]: And I think his game that he's played in the short time that we've had him with the routes that J. Lam Waddle runs and the fact that he holds the ball, our offense is gonna go berserk.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_01]: I really think that we're going to be in more three school wins than the one school wins, that the titles are going to turn from last year.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_03]: I'm getting excited over here, Zach.
- 10:54[SPEAKER_02]: Me too.
- 10:55[SPEAKER_02]: Glenn, I hate to turn it a little more somber, but I'm going to make you the Broncos general manager right now.
- 11:01[SPEAKER_02]: You probably can tell where I'm going with this.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_02]: We have a player that was arrested twice in a week span.
- 11:06[SPEAKER_02]: What would you do with Jonathan Cooper?
- 11:08[SPEAKER_02]: Would you keep him?
- 11:09[SPEAKER_02]: Would you get rid of him?
- 11:12[SPEAKER_01]: I really do believe everyone deserves a second chance, don't get me wrong, but we need to wait for the league to hand down their decision.
- 11:20[SPEAKER_01]: I think we're in a unique position as far as what we were going to do on defense, because my thoughts were that we're going to bring Cam Jordan in anyway, as that replacement for JFM.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_01]: But now it's like, okay, well, what are we going to do to add some experience to the
- 11:39[SPEAKER_01]: And then what's he going to be like after that?
- 11:41[SPEAKER_01]: So do we actually bring in, do we bring in two players?
- 11:44[SPEAKER_01]: Did we bring in a clown in a miller to cover sort of both of those and to give the young players some support behind them?
- 11:52[SPEAKER_01]: Because in a deep playoff run you need some experience.
- 11:55[SPEAKER_01]: Like when we brought him where, you know, like when we brought in T.J. Ward, like when we brought in Sanders, like when we, you know, filled out that roster,
- 12:05[SPEAKER_01]: Because you look at how we went in the playoff cell defense had it down day we had no running back and our wide receiver room was empty because of injury.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_01]: So you need that depth.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_03]: Very interesting.
- 12:19[SPEAKER_03]: I think that's that's fair, Zach, and hey, you know, let's wait to see how some of these dominoes fall, not the least of which is NFL and exactly what kind of discipline, it's going to hand down to Jonathan Cooper.
- 12:32[SPEAKER_03]: All right, let's let's look ahead a little bit here, Glenn, a lot has been made.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_03]: of the Broncos not only getting a first play schedule, but by virtue of their record last season, but the fact that they're drawn the AFC East, as is all the, all the AFC West teams, but you got the AFC East teams.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_03]: You got the NFC West teams also on the schedule, which by the way, those two divisions cranked out five playoff teams last season.
- 12:57[SPEAKER_03]: Then you saw the way that the schedule was shaped up with those really tough for six weeks.
- 13:02[SPEAKER_03]: A lot of Broncos kind of took the breath away for a second.
- 13:05[SPEAKER_03]: I think a lot of folks rebounded.
- 13:07[SPEAKER_03]: How are you feeling about the Broncos in 2026?
- 13:09[SPEAKER_03]: What's your outlook?
- 13:11[SPEAKER_03]: And if you have a record prediction by all means, yeah, sure.
- 13:15[SPEAKER_01]: So I'll take an
- 13:18[SPEAKER_01]: If you're going to go to the promised land, you need to beat the best.
- 13:22[SPEAKER_01]: So I actually love the way the schedules set up.
- 13:25[SPEAKER_01]: You want to have a hard start.
- 13:28[SPEAKER_01]: You want to have some easier running the middle, but then you also want to run into the playoffs, playing teams that are going to challenge you.
- 13:34[SPEAKER_01]: Could you imagine if we were playing all lower ranked teams for the end of November, December, and the first week of January?
- 13:42[SPEAKER_01]: you could go in with some higher expectations of how you've been playing and then you're going to get your pants pulled down.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_01]: So the schedule is a schedule.
- 13:51[SPEAKER_01]: It's what we get given.
- 13:53[SPEAKER_01]: It's it's really well balanced for us and you know the floor should be 13 and 4.
- 14:00[SPEAKER_01]: Well we've got a high powered offense.
- 14:02[SPEAKER_01]: We've got the best defense in the game bar the coverage line back up.
- 14:07[SPEAKER_01]: We've got a young receiving car that's at a jailing model and two tight ends that can actually catch the ball.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_01]: Drawing with some mist tackles where the biggest bug bear for this team last year and we've brought in two tight ends that can catch in jailing model.
- 14:25[SPEAKER_01]: And then we've added red mud or who's not only a really good tackler, but he doesn't miss tackles.
- 14:33[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, what's not to like it to be caught together rather than JFM.
- 14:37[SPEAKER_01]: So we should be aiming to be in the Super Bowl.
- 14:42[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm not a big proponent of people being worried about bionics as ankle, because that type of procedure I've had myself.
- 14:50[SPEAKER_01]: And within the first 12 to 8 a.m. months, you're gonna have to have pins or plates adjusted.
- 14:55[SPEAKER_01]: So having that done before the season is a big ticker box, because he could have got six weeks in, had some discomfort, and then they need to do it then and then what?
- 15:05[SPEAKER_01]: He gets maybe three games into the playoffs so anyone out there who's worried about that don't be don't listen to the media.
- 15:11[SPEAKER_01]: They don't know what they're talking about.
- 15:13[SPEAKER_01]: They've never even laced up any boots never even taken a hit of any nature, pads or no pads.
- 15:19[SPEAKER_01]: So have confidence in this team we're building a dynasty.
- 15:23[SPEAKER_01]: We've had 10 years of pain.
- 15:25[SPEAKER_01]: This is our time.
- 15:27[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I don't know if any, I don't know if you watched wrestling or watch wrestling, you would make a great promoter.
- 15:32[SPEAKER_02]: Let me just tell you, man, it all comes naturally to you, but you actually took the last thing I was going to ask you, and it was kind of a dumb question.
- 15:38[SPEAKER_02]: I was thinking, but you're not worried at all about bone X's ankle and make everyone else feel better about why it's like you explained so SOP.
- 15:47[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I just feel that some people get emotional and they don't really understand the physical aspects of sport these days are very very hard to understand unless you've played those sports unless you've had those injuries, you know, all the media trying to do is to get the most views they can so they're going to put absolute mail on everything and make everyone worry and.
- 16:11[SPEAKER_01]: As a Broncos fan, we know how poor the media are towards them, so why listen to anything outside of our little MHH Broncos, RMSN network bubble?
- 16:22[SPEAKER_01]: Keep it in our community because you've got people who understand the game, who are real minded and then the people who are worrying, we got you, we'll put our arm around you, Michaela, we'll put our arm around anyone else,
- 16:42[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, yeah, a lot of, I mean, that's also, I guess to Glenn, one of the, one of the markers of fanhood, right, we ride the emotional roller coaster and but I'm with you.
- 16:54[SPEAKER_03]: I'm with you.
- 16:54[SPEAKER_03]: I think things are, it's going up right now and the Broncos.
- 16:58[SPEAKER_03]: I think they just what they did last season was just the first little statement right and it's only going to get more intense like the chiefs they're worried the chargers they've been worried it's going to be fun to see how it all shakes out but Glenn brother thank you so much for giving us some of your time tonight for us this morning for you give our best to your boy Jackson Tom football priest say what's up
- 17:24[SPEAKER_03]: and guys by the way follow follow Glenn on Twitter at real mid.
- 17:29[SPEAKER_03]: You can see this his handle on screen right now and then check out the podcast stuff he's doing with the RSN guys the juice podcast right.
- 17:38[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so the juice football podcast we do want to choose day not.
- 17:42[SPEAKER_01]: We go on pretty much after Calvin's corner and we cover all 32 teams.
- 17:47[SPEAKER_01]: So okay.
- 17:47[SPEAKER_01]: It's a little little different to what you guys are doing with a little bit of the same and yeah we're just three guys having fun talking about football like what else would you want to do with your spare time?
- 17:59[SPEAKER_03]: Very cool.
- 18:00[SPEAKER_03]: Very cool buddy.
- 18:00[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you again.
- 18:02[SPEAKER_03]: We'll get you back on in the near future big dog and one of these days.
- 18:05[SPEAKER_03]: Hopefully we'll get to meet you.
- 18:06[SPEAKER_03]: But Glenn, thanks for being a member.
- 18:08[SPEAKER_03]: Thanks for being a friend and and also the inspirational messages on Instagram and the DMs do keep them coming.
- 18:14[SPEAKER_03]: I'm like, yeah, I can walk through a wall right now with this stuff that Glenn sent him.
- 18:17[SPEAKER_03]: Let's go.
- 18:18[SPEAKER_03]: But anyway, thank you big dog.
- 18:19[SPEAKER_03]: Appreciate you.
- 18:21[SPEAKER_01]: No, it's a privilege and an honour to be on this show that I've been supporting for over 10 years.
- 18:26[SPEAKER_01]: And I consider you guys to be my friends and everyone else in our community.
- 18:30[SPEAKER_01]: And I will make it to a meet and greet once I get clearance to fly and Jackson will come with me.
- 18:37[SPEAKER_01]: So he's been avidly nicknamed Megatron by any of my friends that are from America, because he's six and he looks like he's 11.
- 18:46[SPEAKER_03]: Nice.
- 18:47[SPEAKER_03]: Awesome.
- 18:47[SPEAKER_03]: Right.
- 18:48[SPEAKER_01]: I'll tell him hot from the price and I'm doing it.
- 18:50[SPEAKER_01]: Please do.
- 18:50[SPEAKER_01]: Guy Bronch ice.
- 18:51[SPEAKER_01]: Thanks, Glenn.
- 18:52[SPEAKER_03]: Appreciate you, man.
- 18:53[SPEAKER_03]: There he goes.
- 18:54[SPEAKER_03]: Glenn Ashley also known as the sheriff on his podcast.
- 18:59[SPEAKER_03]: A dear member, a good friend, drop in some knowledge tonight.
- 19:02[SPEAKER_03]: And Zach, you had some interesting things to say.
- 19:05[SPEAKER_03]: I really liked what his thoughts were on just the idea that this is a budding dynasty.
- 19:10[SPEAKER_03]: And I think back to.
- 19:12[SPEAKER_03]: Sean Peyton last summer right Zach and I think a lot of people viewed it as him trying to will something into existence but he's a very experienced head coach spent through the ringer time and time again and I think he feels like all the ducks were finally in a row things were lining up and he ended up being right he's like this is one of the few teams like a handful of teams I've coached
- 19:33[SPEAKER_03]: that I have a chance to win a Super Bowl and dude, they were right there if it's not for the freak injury to bonus, it could have perhaps come true, but I doubt his tune has changed.
- 19:43[SPEAKER_03]: He might be a little bit more careful exact this time around about what Sean Payton chooses to put into the media in terms of his expectations or view on the team, but I can't imagine he's moved off that.
- 19:54[SPEAKER_02]: chat I got to be honest man like over the course of doing this podcast we've talked we've had the pleasure of talking to a lot of different brachos fans both in person and on this show with our superstar segments I enjoyed that interview with Glenn genuinely more than a lot of others and that's not a a slight against anybody else I just thought he was completely locked in
- 20:13[SPEAKER_02]: He was very comfortable on camera, but every point he made, it wasn't homeristic, it wasn't too biased.
- 20:18[SPEAKER_02]: I think it was layered in just the reality of the situation and that the rest of the NFL should fear the Broncos and not the other way around.
- 20:27[SPEAKER_02]: I think he got that message across perfectly.
- 20:30[SPEAKER_03]: He was.
- 20:30[SPEAKER_03]: He's awesome.
- 20:31[SPEAKER_03]: Dude, a lot of fun with great insight.
- 20:33[SPEAKER_03]: Great.
- 20:34[SPEAKER_03]: Just kind of vibe about him very Aussie in the best sense.
- 20:37[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, that just laid back, but also very confident in his opinions.
- 20:43[SPEAKER_03]: I love that.
- 20:44[SPEAKER_03]: We got Shannon Mills jumping in a dear member of our company, our off the top rope.
- 20:49[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you, Shannon.
- 20:49[SPEAKER_03]: Shannon, we love you.
- 20:50[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you so much.
- 20:51[SPEAKER_03]: You have hopefully you understand how much this really does help us support like this this deep into the off season like we're grinding.
- 20:59[SPEAKER_03]: We're trying to just get by till football season.
- 21:02[SPEAKER_03]: We're almost there.
- 21:02[SPEAKER_03]: We've gone almost the distance.
- 21:04[SPEAKER_03]: We just got a little little ways left and
- 21:07[SPEAKER_03]: you're going to allow us and help us to get there.
- 21:09[SPEAKER_03]: So thank you, Shannon.
- 21:10[SPEAKER_03]: She says, hey, Chad Zach, and of course, a message to Glenn and Broncos Country.
- 21:14[SPEAKER_03]: I totally agree with Glenn.
- 21:16[SPEAKER_03]: She says, I've been so relaxed this off season for once.
- 21:20[SPEAKER_03]: The Broncos have depth in most positions.
- 21:23[SPEAKER_03]: So much to be positive about and the sky is the limit.
- 21:28[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I mean, another thing that Glenn said Zach that resonates is like, what did he call it?
- 21:32[SPEAKER_03]: The athletes mindset.
- 21:34[SPEAKER_03]: So like, hey, man, you got to beat the best to be the best.
- 21:37[SPEAKER_03]: Like, don't shrink away from it.
- 21:38[SPEAKER_03]: Don't don't worry about the fact that you're playing some of the better teams in the league this time around.
- 21:43[SPEAKER_03]: Like, go out and prove that so are you.
- 21:46[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, exactly.
- 21:46[SPEAKER_02]: That's the same point I made when the schedule came out.
- 21:48[SPEAKER_02]: I like how it's set up because it'll really, I hate the expression, but iron sharpened iron, and that'll come out in the wash with the Broncos.
- 21:55[SPEAKER_02]: Shannon, thank you so much.
- 21:57[SPEAKER_02]: I think there should be a way we either should give you one or put it in your handle.
- 22:00[SPEAKER_02]: You, Diana and Michaela, a little like lightning boulder, power symbol, just to symbolize that you are a part of the power company, keeping the lights on each and every day Shannon.
- 22:09[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you so much for that.
- 22:11[SPEAKER_03]: It's great to see a, I mean, another thing she's bringing up the depth.
- 22:15[SPEAKER_03]: Glenn brought this up to Zach and not to turn it in any way to negative town because I don't really think it's that big of a negative in my opinion, but I know you Zach might feel differently and Glenn, but are you really that worried about the lack of a coverage lineback or what are your thoughts on that?
- 22:29[SPEAKER_02]: I'm worried about the lack of an experienced proven coverage linebacker chat.
- 22:34[SPEAKER_02]: I have very high hopes in in players like Murdoch and even still Korean A read and Laville Bailey.
- 22:40[SPEAKER_02]: I like what they showed in preseason.
- 22:41[SPEAKER_02]: But they're not proven, they're not experienced, they're still projects, they're still hypotheticals, and they're still at the bottom of the depth chart.
- 22:48[SPEAKER_02]: And at the top of the depth chart, which I know bothers Glenn, is still Alex Singleton and still Justin Sternot, and that's still a problem.
- 22:56[SPEAKER_03]: Shannon, much love and respect.
- 22:58[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you again so much for that very, very generous super chat and once again, I want to congratulate you all so on your nicks winning it all very, very cool.
- 23:08[SPEAKER_03]: We got two song fill also checking in saying good evening, Chad Zach, he can Scott and the sheriff could bowl nicks break manning's touchdown record this year.
- 23:18[SPEAKER_03]: So it's the single season passing touchdown record Zach of 55.
- 23:24[SPEAKER_03]: not sure it'll ever get broken.
- 23:25[SPEAKER_03]: But I guess it might Zach is they start, you know, they're not done adding games to the season right now at 17, you know, they're at least wanting to get to another even number again so they can have half season.
- 23:35[SPEAKER_03]: But 55 touchdowns, Glenn also brought up that 2013 season, the way it started out with a bang with Peyton Throne seven touchdowns, single game.
- 23:45[SPEAKER_03]: Let's bend tied.
- 23:46[SPEAKER_03]: But
- 23:47[SPEAKER_03]: still stands as a single game and a fell record against the Ravens that particular season.
- 23:52[SPEAKER_03]: What's your thought here for Phil?
- 23:53[SPEAKER_02]: Yep, it's June 24th.
- 23:55[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 23:56[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if it's going to happen anytime soon.
- 23:58[SPEAKER_02]: Like Chad was laying out.
- 23:59[SPEAKER_02]: He set the bar pretty damn high fill.
- 24:02[SPEAKER_02]: I do think Bo will set a career high potentially in passing touchdowns with the acquisition of Jalen Water.
- 24:08[SPEAKER_02]: Although why I temper my expectation, especially for what you're saying there,
- 24:12[SPEAKER_02]: is they're going to run the ball a hell of a whole lot.
- 24:14[SPEAKER_02]: They drafted you on a Coleman for a reason.
- 24:16[SPEAKER_02]: They brought back JK Dobbins for a reason.
- 24:18[SPEAKER_02]: They still like RJ Harvey.
- 24:20[SPEAKER_02]: They'll have Julio McLaughlin and Tyler today for now on the roster.
- 24:23[SPEAKER_02]: So with that and just the way with the offense to set up, I look for him to maybe break 40, but getting into the 50s.
- 24:30[SPEAKER_02]: I don't see it.
- 24:31[SPEAKER_03]: He came close to breaking into the thirties as a rookie.
- 24:34[SPEAKER_03]: He finished with 29.
- 24:35[SPEAKER_03]: He actually took a little bit of a step back in terms of the number of touchdowns year two, 25.
- 24:41[SPEAKER_03]: But still Zach, I think.
- 24:44[SPEAKER_03]: 40, if you can get to 40, then I can believe in 50, one day.
- 24:48[SPEAKER_02]: Like it can happen, exactly.
- 24:49[SPEAKER_03]: But just keeping the expectations within the realm of the plausible, gonna be going up against some, yeah, that's improved supporting cast, no doubt about it.
- 24:57[SPEAKER_03]: Another point, Glenn did a great job at Lucidating while he was with us.
- 25:01[SPEAKER_03]: But you're going up against some really good defenses this season.
- 25:04[SPEAKER_03]: So if Bo can get to 30, that's another milestone.
- 25:07[SPEAKER_03]: If he can get to 40, even better.
- 25:10[SPEAKER_03]: But I do think Phil, somewhere within his,
- 25:12[SPEAKER_03]: development and growth as a quarterback in the league.
- 25:16[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, he might have a chance at one point to break that record, but remember, when Peyton Manning first broke the record, which was Marino's previously longstanding 48 touchdowns, that was in two, that was at 0304, either 0304, I think it was 0404.
- 25:31[SPEAKER_03]: But either way, Zach, that was 99, 99, 2001, two, three, four.
- 25:38[SPEAKER_03]: So you know, that was like year seven for Peyton, when he hit it the first time, then you get to 2013.
- 25:43[SPEAKER_03]: And that was his 15th season.
- 25:45[SPEAKER_03]: So it'll take Bow a little bit of time to get to that level, but I think you can get there.
- 25:50[SPEAKER_02]: I think how you put it was perfect.
- 25:52[SPEAKER_02]: If he can get to 40, then I'll believe he can get to 50, but it's kind of baby steps and crawl before you run kind of thing, but I do think he'll have a more efficient season, they'll have a more explosive offense, but I don't know that he wants all the credit.
- 26:05[SPEAKER_02]: I think he wants to be the point guard, Boneyx, and distribute the ball evenly.
- 26:09[SPEAKER_02]: That includes the backfill with the running game.
- 26:11[SPEAKER_02]: So we'll see if what he ends up at this season.
- 26:14[SPEAKER_03]: All right, guys.
- 26:14[SPEAKER_03]: We have a lot more that we are going to be getting to this evening.
- 26:19[SPEAKER_03]: Taylor jumping in, talking about dear members.
- 26:21[SPEAKER_03]: He was with us just last week.
- 26:23[SPEAKER_03]: Here he is dropping a super chat saying high fellows, giving props to Glenn.
- 26:28[SPEAKER_03]: He says football needs to be here.
- 26:31[SPEAKER_03]: Go Broncos.
- 26:32[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, dude.
- 26:33[SPEAKER_03]: Um,
- 26:34[SPEAKER_03]: We're marching through the NFL Summers Act to six weeks, it can be brutal, but this podcast, these conversations are one of the ways that we pass the time.
- 26:44[SPEAKER_03]: And if we stay in that funnel, we'll get there before you know, the time will pass and all the sun is like, whoa, July 28, training camp is here.
- 26:52[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I mean, we talk about the power company with the, the women of the podcast, but you all are part of the power company keeping us motivated and powered and energized each and every day to do this podcast.
- 27:03[SPEAKER_02]: Again, that's not disingenuous.
- 27:04[SPEAKER_02]: I mean that full throw.
- 27:06[SPEAKER_02]: Did I mean that with all of my heart.
- 27:07[SPEAKER_02]: I can speak for Chad, who I see is is not in his head.
- 27:10[SPEAKER_02]: You guys make this all definitely worthwhile each and every day.
- 27:13[SPEAKER_02]: So thank you guys.
- 27:15[SPEAKER_03]: 805 Broncos fan thank you for that super chat big dog means a lot we appreciate you says hey chat and Zach thank you for all you do keeping us all entertained and up-to-date during the off-season super talented individual thank you 805.
- 27:28[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you buddy appreciate you.
- 27:30[SPEAKER_03]: We've got a we've we've had a few reps.
- 27:33[SPEAKER_03]: This is officially episode, well I'll tell you this is let me tell you this how long Zack and I have been at it 12,000 it's like well you 1200 something I think it's like 12 here I'll tell you right now this is episode number 12 74 so 1,274 repetitions of us that turn it on there
- 27:57[SPEAKER_03]: the cameras getting the mic in front of us, turning on the lights and going live.
- 28:01[SPEAKER_03]: So we're just grateful that folks like you 805 when we go live, you're here to listen to a stock, man.
- 28:07[SPEAKER_03]: So thank you.
- 28:08[SPEAKER_02]: Plus it's time to counting all the videos we've done, like all the other content we've shot together, Chad.
- 28:13[SPEAKER_02]: Like you said, we've been around the block with this brand a few times.
- 28:17[SPEAKER_03]: And we're still loving every minute of it, even in the depths of the offseason, you guys make it so much fun.
- 28:24[SPEAKER_03]: Shout out to the rock, what's up, big dog.
- 28:27[SPEAKER_03]: get to see one of our dearest of members in the MHH mayor mayor of this community brother hope you're doing well Taylor I'm not sure exactly what you're talking about he says hey fellas do you like models new look did he cut his hair something's that I don't know what's his new look Taylor describe it for yeah I'm not sure different like maybe I miss something on Twitter today um which would not be a huge surprise because I don't typically spend too much
- 28:56[SPEAKER_03]: but you'll have to fill us in on that big dog.
- 28:58[SPEAKER_03]: And listen to the wrong here, guys.
- 29:00[SPEAKER_03]: Subscribe, hit the thumbs up, we need you.
- 29:03[SPEAKER_03]: And yes, that discord, we also need you at the discord.
- 29:06[SPEAKER_03]: That links in the description.
- 29:07[SPEAKER_03]: It's free to join, it's free to participate.
- 29:09[SPEAKER_03]: It's a lot of fun.
- 29:11[SPEAKER_03]: It's awesome part of the community.
- 29:13[SPEAKER_03]: Glenn Jumpin' in with the comments saying, Red Murdock, the rookie seventh round draft pick who goes down in history as the 2026 Mr. irrelevant, last pick in the draft.
- 29:24[SPEAKER_03]: says Murdoch will surprise everyone and end up as the number two linebacker.
- 29:29[SPEAKER_03]: We really missed, I think wanting Anthony Hill Jr. the Texas linebacker and Jake Golday, nor trading up.
- 29:39[SPEAKER_03]: I'm interested to see Tori and York in coverage at the NFL level if he makes the 53.
- 29:45[SPEAKER_03]: Well, man, he's built like a safety, York, you know, 511, 226, like he's weight wise, like what Leslie Woodyard was back in the day when he arrived in Denver as a former safety trying to make it as a linebacker, except York's few inches shorter than Woodyard was.
- 30:03[SPEAKER_03]: So we'll see, Zach, how do you think York's going to look as a coverage guy?
- 30:08[SPEAKER_02]: If that could be his specialty, the Broncos can find a place for him even on the practice squad and get him on the field at some point to help him out.
- 30:15[SPEAKER_02]: But Glenn, I think what we can both agree on obviously is the Broncos have kicked the can down the road for far too long at the inside linebacker position, waiting until the seventh round to address that spot.
- 30:27[SPEAKER_02]: It's still I agree with you.
- 30:28[SPEAKER_02]: It didn't sit right with me then.
- 30:29[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't know I love Red Murdock and it doesn't sit right with me now.
- 30:32[SPEAKER_02]: Hopefully it doesn't come back to buddham.
- 30:33[SPEAKER_03]: There have been many reports that the Broncos were after hill.
- 30:38[SPEAKER_03]: They wanted hill.
- 30:39[SPEAKER_03]: There have also been reports that they were after a specific tight ends in the second round.
- 30:44[SPEAKER_03]: And these are the reasons why they traded back.
- 30:46[SPEAKER_03]: And I'm sure that they had some of those guys very high on their board, no doubt about it.
- 30:50[SPEAKER_03]: But,
- 30:52[SPEAKER_03]: They weren't desperate.
- 30:54[SPEAKER_03]: And I guess that that just goes to show you whether we agree with it or not.
- 30:58[SPEAKER_03]: They're confident level in Singleton and Sternard.
- 31:01[SPEAKER_03]: But Dutchy, good to see you, brother Albert, give our best to Michelle.
- 31:05[SPEAKER_03]: Hope you guys are doing well.
- 31:06[SPEAKER_03]: Shout out to Keith, Sam Broncos country.
- 31:09[SPEAKER_03]: What's up?
- 31:10[SPEAKER_03]: Mile high salute.
- 31:11[SPEAKER_03]: Keith, one of our great members on YouTube.
- 31:13[SPEAKER_03]: And I gotta congratulate Clayton, who's been a long time
- 31:17[SPEAKER_03]: MHH supporter on Facebook.
- 31:20[SPEAKER_03]: He says, I got me a truck today guys.
- 31:22[SPEAKER_03]: Let's go do some grads Clayton congrats.
- 31:26[SPEAKER_03]: I had a similar kind of emotion come over me earlier this week.
- 31:30[SPEAKER_03]: My wife came down comes into the office and hands me a piece of mail.
- 31:36[SPEAKER_03]: I opened it up and it's a title.
- 31:38[SPEAKER_03]: paid off the truck.
- 31:40[SPEAKER_03]: All right, we got the truck now, free and clear.
- 31:43[SPEAKER_03]: It's a nice feeling, no more payment.
- 31:45[SPEAKER_03]: So anyway, nice to see you there, buddy.
- 31:48[SPEAKER_03]: And then also, Kirsten, she's on this thing about Murdoch.
- 31:51[SPEAKER_03]: And another dear member, she says, looking forward to seeing Murdoch and York work together, that will be big if they both make the 53.
- 32:00[SPEAKER_03]: It would be big, not only because one of them is acts at 7th round pick and a linebacker, but
- 32:05[SPEAKER_03]: an undrafted guy they did have one last year perine Reed made the 53 out of camp so I think
- 32:13[SPEAKER_03]: is that they've had 21 out of 22 years, an undrafted rookie.
- 32:17[SPEAKER_03]: I think this year, if a rookie makes it, it will be 22 out of 23 of the past, so 22 out of the past 23 seasons, an undrafted rookie's that makes the 53 of all those years, though.
- 32:28[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I guess it does stretch back to the Peyton Manning years, but this might be one of the hardest years for an undrafted guy to crack the roster.
- 32:36[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and before read it was Level Bailey making the team or at least fighting for a roster spot shot in training camp and did 24.
- 32:43[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and he's still hanging around.
- 32:45[SPEAKER_02]: So I don't know if both are going to make it, but between the four of the young linebackers, I'm praying, and I'm hoping that a couple could step up and become the future.
- 32:54[SPEAKER_03]: Shilo jumping in with the super chats and shot out to tie to end you this week in Nashville.
- 32:59[SPEAKER_03]: Are you going?
- 33:00[SPEAKER_03]: Are you going to be there?
- 33:01[SPEAKER_03]: Now, Shiloh, if you guys didn't know, he's a semi-pro football player, and he plays tight end.
- 33:08[SPEAKER_03]: So you'll have to let us know, brother, if you're going to be there.
- 33:11[SPEAKER_03]: But yeah, we'll look forward to that for sure.
- 33:14[SPEAKER_02]: I did see that Lucas Crawl is an attendance of all people, so I hope that works out for him.
- 33:20[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I do he needs every little bit of help he can get, that's not me trying to clown him.
- 33:26[SPEAKER_03]: Sure.
- 33:27[SPEAKER_03]: The Broncos sent pretty clear message to curl and add kids and troublemen to be honest with you in how they approach the draft.
- 33:33[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, to late round guys in Justin Jolie a fifth rounder, but they did trade up to get Justin Jolie and then down Bentley Zach and seventh rounder, but that was definitely a message that was sent.
- 33:44[SPEAKER_02]: Scott, you're funny, man.
- 33:45[SPEAKER_02]: That was good.
- 33:47[SPEAKER_03]: These Mr. Producer cracking us up.
- 33:52[SPEAKER_03]: Anyway, Shilo dude stoked.
- 33:54[SPEAKER_03]: We'll see how it shakes out.
- 33:55[SPEAKER_03]: He says, I wish I could go.
- 33:56[SPEAKER_03]: We have a home game ourselves this week.
- 33:59[SPEAKER_03]: All right, brother.
- 34:00[SPEAKER_03]: Well, good luck in that game, and I hope you have nine catches for 85 and a study.
- 34:06[SPEAKER_03]: That's my hope for you, Big Dog.
- 34:08[SPEAKER_03]: Hopefully it's in the game plan.
- 34:09[SPEAKER_03]: He also says, I wish, or I hope, Jolie is there to learn from some of the current and past legends.
- 34:15[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I'll have to, we'll have to figure it out and find out exactly who's there and get an attendance report.
- 34:21[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe we shall see.
- 34:23[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I didn't see if Jolie's out there, but I know he'll be working with Bonaix and the rest of the Brock is off and so the course of the officer or the rest of the summer and into training camp.
- 34:31[SPEAKER_02]: I'm excited for what Jolie could bring to the table in year one.
- 34:35[SPEAKER_03]: No doubt about it.
- 34:36[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, Kirsten says, and by the way, Kirsten real quick, before I got this, she says her if you guys remember, she was asking for prayers for her brother, who's trying to make it become a Marine.
- 34:47[SPEAKER_03]: She says my brother has 10 hours left in his crucible before he becomes a Marine.
- 34:52[SPEAKER_03]: all of our vibes, all of our prayers are behind him, Kirsten, and though I'm certain he will succeed.
- 35:00[SPEAKER_03]: That's really, really cool.
- 35:01[SPEAKER_03]: But, and thank you.
- 35:02[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's been a long time, Zach.
- 35:05[SPEAKER_02]: We've been at this together.
- 35:08[SPEAKER_02]: And
- 35:09[SPEAKER_03]: You know, it's like what's weird is the way the universe works because we weren't trying to really quote unquote make it on YouTube.
- 35:18[SPEAKER_03]: We had our upload podcast.
- 35:21[SPEAKER_03]: We did a podcast that would upload two episodes per week.
- 35:24[SPEAKER_03]: Remember this is that one in the early part of the week where we'd be reacting to whatever the last game was.
- 35:29[SPEAKER_03]: And then later in the week episode where we'd be previewing whatever the next game wasn't then when we get to the offseason and we're still trying to maintain that kind of cycle on early, one later in the week.
- 35:40[SPEAKER_03]: And then the one later in the week we would usually have a segment that we called the Mile High Mail Bank.
- 35:45[SPEAKER_03]: And that's where we would drop the line, you know, we are your football priest and all that stuff.
- 35:50[SPEAKER_03]: And then one day, I just, I got a notification.
- 35:52[SPEAKER_03]: Hey, you've been accepted to the YouTube Partner Program.
- 35:56[SPEAKER_03]: And the only reason why that happened guys was all of our audio uploads that we were doing as a podcast, what auto share, I connected our YouTube account.
- 36:04[SPEAKER_03]: So it was just auto shared a mile-high hotel YouTube.
- 36:07[SPEAKER_03]: And that was pretty much the only videos that were going up.
- 36:09[SPEAKER_03]: And just over years of doing that, and not really paying that much attention to it, we qualify for the Partner Program.
- 36:15[SPEAKER_03]: I'm like, oh, that's cool.
- 36:16[SPEAKER_03]: What does that even mean?
- 36:17[SPEAKER_03]: And I learned about it, my uncle.
- 36:18[SPEAKER_03]: And then one day, I'm like, you know what, Zach, we should do the mile high mail bag sent this week, just do the whole episode as a live.
- 36:27[SPEAKER_03]: We'll do it live and we'll stream to YouTube and we'll stream to Facebook.
- 36:31[SPEAKER_03]: It'll be fun.
- 36:32[SPEAKER_03]: And the rest is history.
- 36:33[SPEAKER_03]: We did it one time, had so much fun with the engagement live from everybody, the questions and the conversation that Zach that we just, that's every episode from here on up.
- 36:43[SPEAKER_02]: Well, Kirsten, I want to give an early congratulations to your brother, God bless him, God bless your family.
- 36:50[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously, God bless his country, but thank you so much for sharing that.
- 36:53[SPEAKER_02]: And if you haven't done so yet, relay this message, thank him from us for his service.
- 37:00[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, it means a lot.
- 37:01[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you.
- 37:02[SPEAKER_03]: No doubt about it.
- 37:03[SPEAKER_03]: I will talk to him there.
- 37:05[SPEAKER_03]: No doubt about it.
- 37:06[SPEAKER_03]: All right, guys, we still have a little bit of time left here, but we got some other things.
- 37:11[SPEAKER_03]: We're going to talk about some players with some serious momentum heading into training camp, but first guys, we got to take a quick second and we're going to talk about another great sponsor up tonight show and that is Shopify because guys, we are proud.
- 37:33[SPEAKER_03]: customers, users of Shopify and have done so dating back to 2019 when we launched the MHH Merch Store which you guys asked for, you guys wanted Merch, we're like, we don't even know how to build a website, we don't know what we're doing and by the way, like,
- 37:49[SPEAKER_03]: Are you guys going to actually buy anything?
- 37:50[SPEAKER_03]: There's like a lot of problems, a lot of obstacles that we perceived in our way, but fortunately guys, Shopify made it so easy for us to get started like it was basically an overnight thing.
- 38:02[SPEAKER_03]: And Zach, I got to give him credit.
- 38:04[SPEAKER_03]: Zach, you spearheaded that back in the day, and I know how much Shopify made that easy by easing the concerns, the expertise, the helpful tools, the platform just easy to use.
- 38:15[SPEAKER_03]: And of course, we couldn't have succeeded
- 38:19[SPEAKER_02]: That's absolutely correct.
- 38:20[SPEAKER_02]: Shopify is the commerce platform behind millions of businesses around the world and 10% of all e-commerce in the US from household names like Mattel and Magic Spoon to brands just getting started and niche brands like MHH get started with your own design studio with hundreds of ready to use templates Shopify helps you build a beautiful online store that matches your brand style.
- 38:45[SPEAKER_02]: What if people haven't heard about my brand?
- 38:47[SPEAKER_02]: Shopify helps you find your customers with easy to run email and social media campaigns.
- 38:52[SPEAKER_02]: And what if I get suck?
- 38:53[SPEAKER_02]: Well, Shopify is always around to share advice with their award-winning 24-7 customer support.
- 38:59[SPEAKER_03]: No doubt about it guys.
- 39:00[SPEAKER_03]: So it is time to turn the what ifs into Chuching with Shopify today.
- 39:06[SPEAKER_03]: Sign up for your $1 per month trial today at Shopify.com slash
- 39:17[SPEAKER_03]: All right, Zach, back to the conversation and I want to get your thoughts on a few things here.
- 39:22[SPEAKER_03]: So today, it's kind of a stock report is more of like a momentum report.
- 39:29[SPEAKER_03]: I laid out Zach six Broncos with, quote unquote, soaring stock heading into training camp.
- 39:35[SPEAKER_03]: Now granted, training camp still weighs off, but that's the next stop on this trip is training camp.
- 39:41[SPEAKER_03]: And I want to get your thoughts on these guys.
- 39:43[SPEAKER_03]: So first things first, it might seem like Captain Obvious
- 39:47[SPEAKER_02]: You want to talk about soaring stock, how about jail and won't I mean, I don't think anyone stock is soaring higher after OTAs and many can't chat.
- 39:56[SPEAKER_02]: He's as advertised, what is a really to say, we'll judge him when the pads go on and then the lights get brighter, but as of right now, he was worth what they gave up and then some for Bonix.
- 40:07[SPEAKER_03]: Whatever one kept saying was he's just different.
- 40:12[SPEAKER_03]: And man, it's gonna be fun seeing him make plays in the orange and blue this year.
- 40:16[SPEAKER_03]: Another guy's act we'd have to talk about in terms of soring stock.
- 40:20[SPEAKER_03]: Jonah Coleman, a guy who the Broncos were drawn to because they perceived him to be NFL ready and through the rookie camp to OTAs, through many camp, he certainly looks the part.
- 40:34[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and I always talk about where the Broncos got him, but it's still incredible Chad.
- 40:39[SPEAKER_02]: They were considering a second round pick for a guy.
- 40:40[SPEAKER_02]: They got two rounds later, a guy who fits the system like a glove, a guy who I can feel, who I feel can be the RB one of the future taking over for JK Dobbins.
- 40:49[SPEAKER_02]: He's going to have a role as a rookie, although it's a committee backfield, but he's going to make his presence felt early and often this season.
- 40:57[SPEAKER_03]: I think a big reason why they waited and didn't take him that early was their confidence in JK Dobbins and RJ Harvey, they didn't need to necessarily spend early when they had other priorities that they wanted to use the higher around capital on, which in this case, because they didn't have a first going into the draft or a third.
- 41:15[SPEAKER_03]: They had to really be choosy about what they did with that first pick that ended up trading out of the second into the third and taking Tyler on yet him so for Coleman to be there pick one or wait you're right Zach that was an absolute steal and I think it's going to be viewed that way.
- 41:31[SPEAKER_03]: In the fullness of time as it marches on all right here's another guy now this might be Zach.
- 41:36[SPEAKER_03]: a little hyperbolic to say, soaring stock, but Sam milling or Zach, you got to at least say this dude's got some momentum.
- 41:44[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I for a third string quarterback, I think it's pretty fair to say a soaring stock and when he's opened up to the competition to be the backup quarterback, potentially.
- 41:53[SPEAKER_02]: and with how Sean Peyton's talking them up and also the move to Davis Webb as the O.C.
- 41:58[SPEAKER_02]: I think his game matches the type of quarterback that Davis Webb was and I think he gravitates toward him a little bit.
- 42:05[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not discounting him.
- 42:06[SPEAKER_02]: I thought he'd be just a roster body, a campbody, but he's legitimately making waves right now for that number two quarterback job.
- 42:13[SPEAKER_03]: I beat a dude aside from his kind of fun slap dash.
- 42:20[SPEAKER_03]: preseason finale performance last year's act.
- 42:22[SPEAKER_03]: There really wasn't much about Eleanor that impressed me, whether it was his body of work as a cult or what he did as a Bronco last year and the preseason and training camp.
- 42:32[SPEAKER_03]: But that year he spent in the fold with web, with Peyton, with Beau, Stinnah all the dude.
- 42:40[SPEAKER_03]: He knows the playbook.
- 42:42[SPEAKER_03]: He's looking way more comfortable and in command and the big thing about Eleanor that kind of separates him from Stinnah.
- 42:49[SPEAKER_03]: He's got that kind of bonyx ascability to make miracles happen when things break down.
- 42:56[SPEAKER_03]: And that's not to say that Stitty doesn't have Zach a little bit of mobility to him.
- 42:59[SPEAKER_03]: He's a much better athlete than people give him credit for, but let's face it.
- 43:03[SPEAKER_03]: He's a pocket quarterback.
- 43:04[SPEAKER_03]: That's Jared Stidham.
- 43:06[SPEAKER_03]: Don't really ask or expect him to be more than that.
- 43:08[SPEAKER_03]: We saw what happens, Zach.
- 43:09[SPEAKER_03]: If things start breaking down on Jared Stidham, you get the two-handed fumble.
- 43:13[SPEAKER_03]: You lose control of the game.
- 43:16[SPEAKER_03]: Crap goes downhill, et cetera.
- 43:18[SPEAKER_03]: That gives me some hope with Elinger, but I still think that he's got a long road ahead if he's gonna unseat Stitham.
- 43:24[SPEAKER_03]: Cause this is an actual open competition if you wanna believe Sean Payton.
- 43:28[SPEAKER_03]: They are actually open to the possibility of Elinger, unseeding Stitham who has been the QB2's Act since 2023.
- 43:36[SPEAKER_02]: It's so important and ironic in a way that you brought that up, Chad, about telling your his ability to move, because I, one connotation I have with Linger was the quote from Sean Peyton when they first signed him and he was talking about his, I think it was his foot speed or his, his maneuverability, his, his, how quick he can move in the pocket using his legs, that's something that impressed Sean Peyton immediately.
- 43:56[SPEAKER_02]: And I think you hit the nail on the head.
- 43:58[SPEAKER_02]: It's an attribute that Jared Siddham just does not have and will never have.
- 44:03[SPEAKER_03]: All right, here's a couple more, and then we'll go back to the chat.
- 44:06[SPEAKER_03]: Talk about soaring stock, Zach, Q Robinson.
- 44:10[SPEAKER_03]: Now, Glenn brought up, hey, with this stuff with Cooper, why not maybe consider Vaughn, why not Judeveon clowny, bring him a couple of veterans in.
- 44:19[SPEAKER_03]: And I hear that, as time has gone on, Zach, I've become
- 44:23[SPEAKER_03]: Not so much clowny but much more sympathetic and open to the idea of Vaughan coming back especially post Jonathan Cooper getting arrested twice, but I don't think you need to.
- 44:34[SPEAKER_03]: I mean the veteran presence would be great and that experience sure.
- 44:38[SPEAKER_03]: But Q Robinson is looking like the truth, Zach, like champion at the bit to get out there and produce.
- 44:44[SPEAKER_03]: And then that's to say nothing of Jonah Ellis, but from a stock perspective, Q Robinson, soaring right now.
- 44:51[SPEAKER_02]: I know he wanted to go back to New Orleans all along, but it would have been nice for the Broncos to sign cam Jordan.
- 44:56[SPEAKER_02]: would have been nice for them to have a player of his magnitude.
- 44:59[SPEAKER_02]: But I think Hugh Robinson's stockchad is skyrocketing indirectly too because of the Cooper situation.
- 45:06[SPEAKER_02]: He's the next one up to benefit.
- 45:08[SPEAKER_02]: He's the benefactor from a potential Jonathan Cooper absence, either by cut or by suspension, but his own abilities too are becoming just too hard to ignore on the field.
- 45:18[SPEAKER_03]: Another guy and this was probably the biggest surprise name on this list, Zach, Matt Henningson, the former 2022 sixth round pick who, you know, last summer it was looking like that's all she wrote probably for his NFL career when he suffered that Achilles tear.
- 45:35[SPEAKER_03]: I think it was, was it him or Gargulo that got injured against the Niners in the joint practice.
- 45:40[SPEAKER_03]: I think it was him.
- 45:42[SPEAKER_03]: But either way, he rehabbed hard.
- 45:44[SPEAKER_03]: Broncos brought him back on a one-year deal.
- 45:46[SPEAKER_03]: They weren't quite ready to say goodbye.
- 45:49[SPEAKER_03]: And I know Eric was far less impressed, or at least the implications of how well Henningson played in the off-season and performed in mini camp.
- 45:58[SPEAKER_03]: He's kind of like, I pumped the brakes, but the Broncos typically carry seven defensive linemen's at out of camp.
- 46:04[SPEAKER_03]: Last two years, Jordan Jackson's been that seventh guy.
- 46:08[SPEAKER_03]: I think there's a really good chance this time around it could be Henningson.
- 46:12[SPEAKER_02]: And because the Broncos did not sign cam Jordan, it allows the younger players on the roster that forgotten ones like Henningson to get a shot to step up.
- 46:21[SPEAKER_02]: Whether he does step up, we'll be determined in training camp in the preseason.
- 46:24[SPEAKER_02]: He still has a long road to ho here, Chad, but he's definitely going to be given a shot and he has looked good to his credit in the offseason program.
- 46:32[SPEAKER_03]: All right, last name, and I've already brought him up when we were talking about Coleman, but that's Tyler Onyetham.
- 46:38[SPEAKER_03]: And if you didn't know any better, you'd be forgiven for watching the highlight clip or observing from the sideline going, wait a minute, is that John Franklin Myers out there?
- 46:46[SPEAKER_03]: Because he's rocking the 98 jersey.
- 46:48[SPEAKER_03]: And then he also kind of looks and plays like him from a body type style, Tyler on yet, I'm so far, so good.
- 46:54[SPEAKER_03]: He kind of hope and praise that the two, your first two draft picks in this class, it happens to be a third in a fourth round pick, but you'll hope that those two picks,
- 47:05[SPEAKER_03]: Look is NFL ready as Coleman and on yet him have up to this point and on yet him.
- 47:10[SPEAKER_03]: He's like, look, I'm not trying to be John Franklin Myers.
- 47:13[SPEAKER_03]: He talked about this earlier in the office.
- 47:14[SPEAKER_03]: He's like, I'm just trying to be me and do my thing.
- 47:16[SPEAKER_03]: You know, if I can end up filling in and taking over that role, great at some point, but like let me be Tyler on yet him.
- 47:23[SPEAKER_02]: This is why I love potting with you brother because we share a brain more often than not.
- 47:27[SPEAKER_02]: I was actually watching only Adams highlights the other day.
- 47:29[SPEAKER_02]: I swear to God, I thought to myself, he looks a lot like JFM.
- 47:33[SPEAKER_02]: He reminds me a lot of JFM both with his stature and his play.
- 47:37[SPEAKER_02]: What I do respect about him as well Chad, he wasn't signed for the majority of the broadcast offices and practices.
- 47:43[SPEAKER_02]: He's still went out there on a waiver and participated.
- 47:45[SPEAKER_02]: I give him a lot of credit for that.
- 47:46[SPEAKER_02]: He could have easily just sat out.
- 47:50[SPEAKER_03]: Absolutely.
- 47:51[SPEAKER_03]: All right, back to the chat guys, um, a low-hot Patrick.
- 47:55[SPEAKER_03]: Let's go lion coffee.
- 47:57[SPEAKER_03]: Glenn says Jackson, his boy, listened to the mile high male bag on iTunes with me before any of the lives.
- 48:03[SPEAKER_03]: I listened to the uploads all the way back to 2015 before Zach.
- 48:07[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, dude.
- 48:08[SPEAKER_03]: Those were the days, man.
- 48:09[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, gee, you go way back.
- 48:11[SPEAKER_03]: Um,
- 48:13[SPEAKER_03]: No doubt about it, and that's really cool.
- 48:15[SPEAKER_03]: I appreciate you sharing that with us.
- 48:17[SPEAKER_03]: But guys, we're up against it.
- 48:19[SPEAKER_03]: Now listen, we got one more question.
- 48:23[SPEAKER_03]: This is the two minute warning.
- 48:24[SPEAKER_03]: So why is that going through a few messages here?
- 48:26[SPEAKER_03]: Right now, any topics or questions we haven't gotten to tonight drop them in the chat.
- 48:31[SPEAKER_03]: I'll look for them, I'll star them.
- 48:32[SPEAKER_03]: We'll hit them before we dip out here.
- 48:33[SPEAKER_03]: I got at least one already earmarked, so don't go anywhere.
- 48:36[SPEAKER_02]: I got to get out to Australia one day, man.
- 48:38[SPEAKER_02]: And if I could just bear the flight, I got to get out there one day and see Glenn.

- 49:38[SPEAKER_03]: By the way, I haven't shouted him out yet tonight.
- 49:41[SPEAKER_03]: Roy, a dear member.
- 49:42[SPEAKER_03]: Good to see you, brother.
- 49:43[SPEAKER_03]: Also, David Yunkin says Broncos freaking current country.
- 49:47[SPEAKER_03]: I'm just about done building my front porch.
- 49:50[SPEAKER_03]: Only working three hours a day.
- 49:51[SPEAKER_03]: Do that as sick.
- 49:52[SPEAKER_03]: David, good for you, buddy.
- 49:54[SPEAKER_03]: Also, M. Blacks was the very first comment of the night, brother.
- 49:57[SPEAKER_03]: The party may commence for I have arrived.
- 49:59[SPEAKER_03]: No, I did see that.
- 50:01[SPEAKER_03]: I did see the comment.
- 50:02[SPEAKER_03]: I didn't start it quite yet, but because I saw the comment,
- 50:06[SPEAKER_03]: It's like, okay, the party can now begin.
- 50:08[SPEAKER_03]: We started the show.
- 50:09[SPEAKER_03]: And here we are, M-Blex, love your buddy.
- 50:11[SPEAKER_03]: Hope you're doing well.
- 50:13[SPEAKER_03]: And then Zach, I don't know if it's kind of, just a sign of the times and where we're at in the NFL calendar.
- 50:20[SPEAKER_03]: A lot of folks still kind of far away from the campfire.
- 50:24[SPEAKER_03]: But I really only see one topic slash question we have not answered, so let's grab it.
- 50:29[SPEAKER_03]: And that's from Glenn, and he says,
- 50:32[SPEAKER_03]: My question to you priests, Scott and the community who does not make the 53 at wide receiver tie-dend and running back.
- 50:41[SPEAKER_03]: So this is an interesting question we can we got a couple of minutes left to your Zach.
- 50:44[SPEAKER_03]: Let's start with wide receiver who doesn't make it?
- 50:47[SPEAKER_02]: a little Jordan Humphrey I don't think he makes it I don't think in that in that sense though chat I don't think he can butler makes the 53 either I think they keep him the of the practice squad and call him up when necessary but I think this is the year where a little Jordan Humphrey finally God willing is expendable.
- 51:04[SPEAKER_03]: I think first we have to come do an understanding even if we don't agree on the number of receivers they're going to keep.
- 51:11[SPEAKER_03]: So under Peyton it's typically been five.
- 51:15[SPEAKER_03]: They're have been a couple times where it's six, but it's not usually because they start out with five.
- 51:21[SPEAKER_03]: They start out with five, and then a guy like Humphrey or someone else
- 51:25[SPEAKER_03]: Does a few elevations on the practice squad then eventually gets promoted at the 53 now we got six.
- 51:30[SPEAKER_03]: So I predict it's going to be five out of camp.
- 51:33[SPEAKER_03]: Who are the five?
- 51:34[SPEAKER_03]: Well,
- 51:35[SPEAKER_03]: Courtman Sutton, Jalen Waddle, Pat Bryant, Marvin Mims, Troy Franklin.
- 51:39[SPEAKER_03]: To me, those are the five locks, barring a trade that none of us could possibly foresee right now.
- 51:43[SPEAKER_02]: Yep.
- 51:44[SPEAKER_03]: And so who's left on the cutting room for everybody's act from Lil Jordan Humphrey?
- 51:48[SPEAKER_03]: You mentioned Butler, although if Butler goes out there in the preseason especially and makes some of those big plays he was making in the UFL, he could force his way onto the roster because the Bronx will be like shoot.
- 52:00[SPEAKER_03]: He's six five 242 runs under a four or five and he's making all these plays if we cut him someone's going to claim him so and then you know Michael Bandy all the undrafted rookies dang key who else am I missing man Jack Colby cats as those guys probably not making the 53
- 52:17[SPEAKER_02]: I was going to say kind of along the same school of thought, if he makes a lot of plays in the precies and a team butler in the Brock, who's tried to hide him on the practice squad, a team could poach him to their 53 as well.
- 52:28[SPEAKER_02]: So that's going to be interesting.
- 52:29[SPEAKER_02]: Good problem to have in that situation.
- 52:31[SPEAKER_03]: Running back, again, let's figure out how many we expect them to keep last season's act.
- 52:37[SPEAKER_03]: They kept
- 52:39[SPEAKER_03]: four out of camp, they initially waved apprentice the full back.
- 52:43[SPEAKER_03]: So you got to count the full back in the math, but then quickly elevated and then promoted him to the 53.
- 52:50[SPEAKER_03]: So for the most of the seasons act, let's just say they carried five counting the full back last year that was Dobbins Harvey.
- 52:57[SPEAKER_03]: McLaughlin, but day, apprentice.
- 53:00[SPEAKER_03]: So who's left, really?
- 53:01[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, you got the new guy coming in, Jonah Coleman, plus one other kind of new face he joined the late last year, December and Cody Shrader.
- 53:10[SPEAKER_03]: So who doesn't make it?
- 53:13[SPEAKER_03]: Everyone, I think the last one that could make it is McLaughlin.
- 53:17[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously, the three locks chatter evident in Dobbins, Harvey, and Jonah Coleman.
- 53:21[SPEAKER_02]: After that though, if they're going to keep for with the fifth fullback, the fifth player being a fullback, I do think that fourth running back will be McLaughlin and Badeigh and Shrader are going.
- 53:31[SPEAKER_03]: I just think there's more there with McLaughlin, I think he just brings more to the table like if you needed a guy to kind of help carry the load like he did.
- 53:40[SPEAKER_03]: By the way, when McLaughlin came in after the JK Dobbins injury last season, went from literally dress clothes to now I'm the number two.
- 53:49[SPEAKER_03]: leapfrogging, but day by the way in that process, dude, he averaged over five yards per carry down the stretch for the Broncos and into the playoffs.
- 53:56[SPEAKER_03]: So like, that's a valuable dude.
- 53:58[SPEAKER_03]: And I just think there's too much investment on the part of the team.
- 54:00[SPEAKER_03]: He's like a draft pick.
- 54:02[SPEAKER_03]: Like, he went undrafted, but the amount of investment and payoff they've gotten.
- 54:06[SPEAKER_03]: Like, I think you're right.
- 54:08[SPEAKER_03]: McLaughlin's the last guy in to turn the lights off.
- 54:11[SPEAKER_03]: And outside the door, close behind, unfortunately, it's Tyler, but day, it's probably Cody Shrader, but I'm not
- 54:18[SPEAKER_03]: willing to write off Shrader yet because that dude does have some chops.
- 54:21[SPEAKER_03]: So I'm interested to see how he looks in the preseason.
- 54:24[SPEAKER_02]: One thing though is obvious here, Chad, it's amazing how improved the Broncos backfield has gotten to be in the last couple of years.
- 54:32[SPEAKER_02]: But the last one at one time was the RB1.
- 54:34[SPEAKER_02]: Now he's looking like the RB4.
- 54:36[SPEAKER_02]: That's a huge difference, man.
- 54:38[SPEAKER_03]: no doubt no doubt tight end again how my my very first way to early fifty three man roster projection I was having a little bit of fun I'm like all right I'm gonna buy into this Sean Peyton
- 54:51[SPEAKER_03]: Caleb loaner thing a little bit, they're going to carry five, but they're not guys.
- 54:54[SPEAKER_03]: They're going to carry four.
- 54:56[SPEAKER_03]: And so the four, who is it going to be exact to me, it's probably Ingram trout, jolly, and then I still think it's Adkins job to lose no disrespect to Bentley, no disrespect to loaner for that matter just because
- 55:11[SPEAKER_03]: similar to McLaughlin, Adkins has been there for a few years.
- 55:15[SPEAKER_03]: Signed as a college free agent, they've developed him.
- 55:17[SPEAKER_03]: He's still technically the best blocking tight end on the roster.
- 55:21[SPEAKER_03]: So I think Bentley or Loner, any of those guys, have to do quite a lot to unseat Adkins is that fourth guy.
- 55:27[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, Ingram's a lock, Troutman, unfortunately, is a lock.
- 55:32[SPEAKER_02]: The third tight end, Jolie is a lock, Chad.
- 55:33[SPEAKER_02]: And I agree with you, I think the fourth will come down to a few people, but Adkins, considering he can play fullback
- 55:39[SPEAKER_03]: We'll get that last spot excellent point on the full back thing and then so who's off that means probably Bentley this year and loaner both of whom I think get resigned to the practice squad and we'll go from there now who was I think it was class broke the news a few months ago loaners act in late December and into the playoffs.
- 56:02[SPEAKER_03]: said no to a team that wanted to sign him off Denver's practice squad and onto their 53.
- 56:07[SPEAKER_03]: He said, no, I want to stay.
