Latest / Non-Toxic Living / Toxic Skincare and the Truth About Clean Beauty With Marisol Teijeiro
Transcript
- 0:00I walked into a very, very well-known beauty distributor, and they give me this free sample. I turned over the label, and I could not believe it. Like, this so-called natural branded. It's kind of like the whole thing that happened with McDonald's, you know, real meat trademark. And in the cosmetic industry, the same thing is happening as well, too. Seriously?
- 0:17thousands of chemicals that are aging you that are causing cell death they're called gerontogens right and they age you they're toxins that age you that are actually in your skincare products it might make you look good in the short term exactly but in the long term it's going to age you now you're going to stick to their it's like a drug yeah to stay on the drug that's right right and you're staying on this the skin routine yeah or you have to do more fillers because if you do it younger you just got to keep doing it and now you return customers
- 0:43If there's something that concerns you the most surrounding toxicities, and we talk a lot about it with clean beauty, what do you think it would be? Actually, if you go and take any of your high-priced nighttime makeup remover or lip gloss moisturizers, all of them, they all contain...
- 1:00Dr. Marisol, welcome to the show. Warren, thanks so much for having me. It's like we just, I just saw you and I kind of did. Dr. Marisol was in town and we did, that's on my social media. You saw some of those videos we talked about.
- 1:15toxic acrylic nails and eyelashes and beauty wipes and toxic beauty wipes and all these things. We're going to get into that today. Awesome. But first, I want a little bit of your backstory. How did you get into natural beauty, natural processes to leave a clean life?
- 1:32Awesome. So I actually have a past history of being a beauty queen. I was second runner-up at Miss Canada, and then I won Miss Model of the World Canada and represented Canada. I never even knew that. Oh, yeah. No, I have a big beauty background. And so I started, that kind of started me on my pathway. But of course, at the time, I was uneducated and had no idea about beauty.
- 1:52the things that were in our cosmetics or in the tools that we use for self-care when it comes to our skin. And then, you know, as I got older, things in my health started going bad, and then I was attracted to castor oil, started using a bit of castor oil, this cool, clean beauty thing with the job that I was doing, and then I happened to decide to go back to school to become a naturopathic doctor because I wasn't getting any better.
- 2:18I was dealing with things like acne, I was having problems with my skin, like blotchiness, I'd have to use a lot of foundation and cover up, and not only that, but my stomach was a disaster, I was dealing with IBS, so I decided to go become the doctor. And then on my journey, you know, I explored so many different products, I worked in the natural health industry even before becoming a naturopath, so I'd always been exposed to so many different things, and I just started noticing that there was alternatives for everything.
- 2:44And I was really intrigued by that fact. And I didn't understand why people were using like products that had, you know, multiple, multiple ingredients. And then they could basically not not read any of them or none of them are understandable. Me, even me as a doctor, sometimes I'll go and look at a label and I'll be like, what the heck is this?
- 3:05Right. And so I just realized that, you know, there needed to be a change done from both a health perspective and a clean beauty perspective. I started a company called Queen of the Thrones, which is like the number one castor oil produced or online in North America. And it's just been an awesome journey, just educating women, young girls like your beautiful daughters and just showing them that there's an alternative way and they can start early because honestly, at this point in time, I'm 46.
- 3:35And if I look back to pictures of me when I was 20, I'm going to let you know that I look a lot better now. In fact, I feel maybe not that I'm aging in reverse, but I'm aging with real grace. Yeah. And real beauty. Yeah. And, you know, I don't want to go on the bandwagon of doing things like Botox and fillers. And like I'm just I'm almost a little bit destroyed inside because I'm seeing girls wanting to do that in their 20s. And that's so difficult.
- 4:00detrimental to their overall well-being and health and actually their beauty long-term. So I just really want to educate and just get people using simple ingredients at Mother Nature. The beautiful, natural woman. I mean, that's what I've always, I'm not, I tell my wife, I don't want makeup on you. I want to see your lines. I want to see your smiles, the non-verbals, like everything makes you beautiful. And in a world where we're removing lines,
- 4:25I love your smile lines. Yeah. I love to see you age because as I fall in love with you, I see that, right? Right. That's what I literally say. You know, it's like, wow. You know, and when you fall in love for the right reasons and you see people.
- 4:40For who they really are. I mean, not to say we're not going to give you hacks. Yeah, of course. Because if your skin's dehydrated and there's a difference between a line from a smile and a dehydrated face. Absolutely. It's like the skin of my hands get dehydrated and then it has that...
- 4:57you know oh yeah well we're here in arizona talk about dehydration thank god i'm like using all the oils and such but you're right like it's it's really about bringing the real you out yeah and i feel like going on this journey now is for me that's part of my mission is like like we don't need all the pills the potions all these different things like there's so many simple ways to do it and and really like honoring what real beauty is you know so that i'm super excited to to be speaking about this with you
- 5:23Yeah. Nature, nature has the solutions that we talk about, you know, I mean, yeah, you're a castor oil expert when it comes to natural beauty. Yeah. But there's other oils and there's other things. And then there's antioxidants that we eat. Yes. Should be eating that helps with skin and inflammation. And it's just this whole thing. But let's start with this. Right. I think in the cosmetic industry in America. Yeah. It's.
- 5:47Billions and billions of dollars and billions and billions of tons of toxins. And for example, to shock the audience, there's only 11 banned ingredients in beauty products in the U.S. versus Europe, 2,400.
- 6:04At least. Unbelievable. Banned ingredients in beauty products. Yeah. And then we just had the big state Senate legislation, you know, looking at the fruit loops in America versus the fruit loops in Europe. Yeah. They won't poison their kids with known ingredients like colors, you know, artificial colors that cause behavioral issues. Exactly.
- 6:23Exactly. And Fruit Loops sells more Fruit Loops in here in the U.S. because of the colors. Instead of watermelon, natural watermelon. There's so many ways to work around it, right? And so this is where we're at in America, the cosmetic industry. Yeah. There's regulation. It's about money. Yeah. And it's about choices. So...
- 6:41Let's educate this audience to say, hey, let's avoid those. Even if you can avoid those, there's more than that, chemicals. There's thousands of chemicals that are aging you, that are causing cell death. You bet. That are causing, they're called gerontogens, right? And they age you. They're toxins that age you that are actually in your skincare products. It might make you look good in the short term. Exactly. But in the long term, it's going to age you. Now you're going to have to stick to their, it's like a drug. You have to stay on the drug. That's right.
- 7:09Right. Right. And you're staying on this the skin routine. Yeah. Or you have to do more fillers because if you do it younger, you just got to keep doing it. And now you return customer. Oh, so it's yeah, it's maddening. It's maddening. And I think one of the biggest things you're bringing up about like the difference between like, you know, North America and then the EU. Like that's that's relevant to our food, to our beauty care products, to absolutely everything.
- 7:32And they're still mad over it. They're still mad over it. But the other thing is just like the greenwashing that happens on the label for the audience that they don't know what greenwashing is. Like it's where products are called like organic and natural. Like I walked into a very, very well-known beauty distributor that, you know, I'm not going to mention the name, but so many people frequent it. It was my first time actually in the store because I don't buy in.
- 7:54I don't buy into those things because like I went, they gave me a free sample as part of me like purchasing something. I was really fortunate to find a really great deodorant that was made out of oud and oud is like a ancient Arabic oil that can be used for scent, which is very, very clean. So I was able to find a great product there. However, then they give me this free sample and it looked like on, from a face value, Ooh, it's like a clay mask. How cool.
- 8:20Because all you need for a clay mask is clay, right? That's it. That's a secret. Maybe a little bit of egg or you can use some food in that clay mask and make it like froth up and work better and stick and dry to your face. But I've turned over the label and I could not believe it. Like this so-called natural, you know, branded. It's kind of like the whole thing that happened with McDonald's, you know, real meat trademark.
- 8:42Right. Like a registered trademark. But and in the cosmetic industry, the same thing is happening as well, too. Like they're they're greenwashing their labels are telling us it's natural. There's this really big push now on clean beauty. They use the terminology everywhere. But really, the products are being sold under that guise of clean beauty. Most of them aren't clean beauty.
- 9:01No, they're not. At all. And even like a lot of the fingernail polish, they're saying they're more natural and they're safe and they're not. Exactly. They still contain formaldehyde. Exactly. But everyone's jumping on this clean trip because it makes – It makes sense. They go faster. It's like, hey, we can sell more products. So it comes down to moving more product and that's why we need to really be able to spot greenwashing. Yeah.
- 9:23Here's another one that I just learned. There's Musk, right? And they were talking, this individual was talking about Sephora and it's all fragrances and not just throwing Sephora under the bus. They may even have any fragrance company. Yeah, any fragrance company. But they were saying, like, why are children...
- 9:40girls, puberty in particular, right? It used to be 16, now it's, you know, the average is 13, but it's happening in nine year olds and 10 year olds. And one of the major ingredients is a toxin that's found in musk, which is fake fragrance. The one chemical in there is known to cause that exact problem. So the warning is, if you have children, don't let them wear fragrance.
- 10:06Yeah. Because if we're doing that, it's a major trigger to cause it triggers early puberty. It triggers that musk scent, the chemical in it. I can't remember what it was exactly, but it triggers early puberty. I didn't read the study yet. I just saw some flashes of it. So I have to dig into it deeper. It's wild. Yeah. But I know it to be true. I know that there's these endocrine disruptors, but this particular endocrine disruptor triggers that. So it's not just about it's happening to our kids. Yeah.
- 10:32Oh, and just think like, you know, it's very easy for them to get convinced. And this is the world that we're living in, right? When like movie stars or people that they idolize are all coming up with their own fragrances. You know, I remember being a young girl and I was all into Britney Spears and Britney fragrance or JLo or what have you. Right. Like it was just kind of the thing that you did. You had your favorite movie stars or now would be favorite Instagram, you know.
- 10:55celebrity and you'd be wearing their fragrance and and and then you know i think also the key factor too here is also education of the parent because parents have a huge responsibility with their young girls and boys for that matter as well too to teach them to show them i know that with
- 11:11I'm super sensitive to smells like you talk to my husband about it. Like I walk in somewhere and I walk right out because I just can't do it. And mainly like you and I share this common histories that we got exposure to chemicals early on. So we're extremely sensitive to things. Right. Which is, you know, sometimes it could be like it looks like it's a blessing in disguise. Right. Is what it is like, you know, people don't love it if you go with them and you know, you're smelling something and you're walking away.
- 11:34Well, your body knows, right? Your body knows. I mean, you're designed to smell something and know whether it's going to be good or bad for you. Like we have these senses and they're not to be ignored. We have these gut feelings if you're around the wrong person. Yeah, yeah. I mean, I remember this as a kid. This is an old story and I've never said this ever to anyone. But I remember seeing a guy walking. I got a weird gut feeling as a kid. Interesting. And he flashed my mom. Yeah.
- 11:59But I saw him and I'm like, that's a bad guy. And I just had the tape and he flashed my mom. Like, which is the stupidest thing I've ever seen flashing. Like, come on. That's hilarious. Oh my God. Flashing was a thing. That is too funny. He's like, I got away with flashing. But I mean, what happened to that? You know, I feel bad for that guy. It's like, what, how is that helping? Yeah. What pain are you masking by flashing? I don't know. Maybe he was sexually abused. Yeah. I don't know. So I'm not, you know, I'm literally not gonna, I mean, that was wrong. Yeah. You know, he should be thrown in jail, you know, or totally for that.
- 12:27But at the same time, I also look underneath like what happened. Right. It's like a toxicity that's in his life for him to behave that way. But these gut feelings is what it comes down to. So we have senses. Yeah. Our nose knows. And our kids know and like we want to nurture those things in our children.
- 12:43We do. Trust your gut. And they're like, I always believe, you know, instinct is something very primal comes from the gut in the lower energy areas of the chakras. But intuition is more of a divine feeling that you get in your heart. And intuition usually like what you're looking for is like for your heart to expand and for you to feel like, ooh, okay, this feels so good. I love like, you know, I feel this way around Rebecca and the girls, you know, and you like, my heart just expands every time I see you guys. I don't get weird gut, like instinctual things that I should run away because instinct is all about running away.
- 13:12You feel safe. And I feel safe. We feel safe around you. A hundred percent. And the thing with our kids is like they know this. So when they start seeing things or hearing things or, you know, like when I started showing them that I was feeling so reactive to sense and such and even makeup, like they were taking notice. And it all is led by example. So we've got to become the people who we wish we would have been able to be when we were younger. This is true. You know, like it's really, really important. Let's talk about some of the things that our kids are using and adults are using that are...
- 13:41Toxic that they can remove. Yeah. And then let's look at some of the natural solutions. Some of them is let's not use glues and acrylic eyelashes, which is super toxic. And it's such a trend. Oh, my gosh. So let's talk about some of those things. And then let's look at some of the natural things that we can do because you're an expert at it.
- 13:58Awesome, awesome. So, you know, you just want to take the human body from head to toe and just really look and see what we're doing. Let's start with the biggest organ in the skin. Body moisturizers, number one. Again, look on the back of the labels. With your beauty care products, you've got to be looking at labels no differently than you're looking at labels of food.
- 14:15whether you're looking for... Because it is food. It is food. It's food for your skin, and that's a huge organ, right? And my little tidbit for everyone in the audience out there is you always want to look at the label. Even if you can't read the ingredients, it doesn't matter. You don't have to be able to read them, but...
- 14:31Not being able to read them or pronounce them typically indicates that it's going to be some kind of a chemical derivative. It's a fast way. It's a fast way. That's the fast way. And people are like, oh, you should be able to read the ingredients. We get feedback. Yeah. I'm like, no, if you can't read it. I can't even read half of them. Yeah. I'm like, well, but people like a lot of people stepped up and say, if you can't read them, that's a good indication that they're not going to be good for you. And here's the thing. If it is a chemical ingredient right afterwards, if they says derived from organic coconut oil or whatever. Yeah.
- 15:00the good companies will say where it's derived from and then if you want to you can look this stuff up online if you know and like uh what's the uh think dirty is the app that i love think dirty is the cosmetic app which is put out by the ewg yeah the environmental working group
- 15:15And Think Dirty is great. I remember I actually got introduced to that again early on in my 20s when I started this whole revolution of my beauty care and self-care. And I'm so impressed with it. I mean, again, it's not perfect. Like, how do they police every single product out there in the world? But, I mean, it's at least a really, really great starting point. It's a great general sweep.
- 15:33Yeah, exactly. It really is. It puts you on the right path. So what else? The skin, right? It's whatever it puts on your skin, it's in your bloodstream. Yeah. I mean, like you can do body moisturizer. It's so simple. Like I do like dry brushing to exfoliate, right? Which is a simple ancient practice, right? So easy. Get boar hairbrush.
- 15:50Yeah, exactly. And then, but I just add in castor oil with that just before I dry brush and it makes it easier, more tolerable. And castor oil is really like deeply hydrating and richly nourishing for your skin. So all over your body, that's awesome. So that's step one. Body moisturizer, dump that, right? Ditch the body moisturizer that has like more than a couple of ingredients. You don't need it.
- 16:09It's not necessary. It's not necessary. Then we can go to things like the feet. Okay, so there's all these feet scrubs that you can buy. You know, again, so many ingredients. Read those ingredient labels. All that you need to do is use a foot pumice stone. That's it. These are all ancient techniques. I just did that. Yeah. Because I walk around barefoot. Yeah. And I was going to come here and I'm looking down and I'm seeing, oh my gosh. Like I have calluses and dirt from walking in the garden. Yeah, of course. So I saw my wife's pumice stone. Yeah.
- 16:39And I saw my foot and I'm like, I think these go together. I love it. And I went at it and I'm like, it cleaned. Perfectly. Because I'm walking around with flip-flops on. I mean, I cared what people think. Actually, I didn't care. I'm like, I want to be non-toxic. No, but it's good for you, right? It's good for you. And it feels good.
- 16:54And it toughens your foot up and gets a new layer of callus, but it worked so effectively. Yeah, try it with castor oil. Yeah, I will. Do castor oil first and then pumice. Oh, it would be so quick. It's ridiculous. Then it won't rip the skin off and makes it supple so it just smooths it up. It's so awesome. I have really bad feet because I also grew up as a dancer, like pointe shoes and tap and modern dancing where you're actually doing rotations on your feet, on barefoot, and you're doing tons of stuff on your feet there. I wouldn't want to get kicked by you though.
- 17:22Oh yeah, probably not. You have hard feet. It's go really high. And so like for me, feet has always become a thing and I can just always tell. And, you know, it's literally for me, it's like one of those, those treatments with like castor oil and the pumice stone and it's good. So it's, it's really rapid, but again, it's just nature's, nature's cure. So that's feet. Then going to the nails. Everyone is getting these plastic nails done constantly. And, you know, number one, I'm,
- 17:49I guess because of being a doctor and being in clinical practice, like when I was doing pageants, I definitely wasn't getting artificial fake nails. Every once in a while now, if there's a real special occasion. As a special treat. Right. I'll get a shellac done or I'll get my nails done. But I do things to work around it in a natural way.
- 18:09So for an example, the chemicals in the nails are definitely like the glues that they're using. You can smell, you just need to walk in and smell it. That's another indicator. If it smells like it's like slightly burning your nose or not feeling good. Again, your nose knows. Yeah, that's right.
- 18:25So in nail salons, you just walk in and you can smell that. And that's the smell of chemicals. They often recommend once you get nails done, taking them off and where they retake all, like they basically wrap it up in more chemicals in order to take off your nails. So what I do with shellac on my toes as an example, I just let them grow out. Like instead of going back in to get more chemicals.
- 18:46You know, there's a principle in toxicity medicine. When I was in clinic, my specialty was environmental medicine and everything about toxins and homotoxicology, so the study of toxins within the human system. And there's a principle of total load. And the total load principle has to do with, you know, you have, say, a wine glass or a glass of water. You can, you know, you can tolerate this amount of toxins and your body can hold it in a container.
- 19:12But if you keep on pouring water and you keep on going, going, going, eventually it's going to overflow. And when you overflow, you've passed the point of total load. You've basically weakened and overwhelmed all of your detoxification mechanisms and your body can't do anything with it. So what I'm doing there by, you know, not getting nails done all the time or maybe, you know, going for something a little bit more simpler, like not going back in and taking them off and just allowing them to grow off is I'm reducing the total load. So I can have a little bit of fun things and I can, you know. Your body can handle a little bit.
- 19:41Yeah, and also I have to say, as a woman, as someone who comes from a history of beauty pageants, as someone who loves to appear well, just because for myself it gives me a lot of pleasure. Yeah, you love to have fun. I love to have fun. It's my personality, right? So I like to, from time to time, be able to do that. So I just try to do it with the most caution as possible and just do it in a smart way. So I think it's about becoming a smart, clean beauty adopter in your life also, right? So that's nails, love.
- 20:07Well, in nails, I just want to add to that. It's become a social activity, right? Oh, yeah. Go with girlfriends. Where women get a break. I was sitting at a clean restaurant. Yeah. There's finally one in Salt Lake. It's called Contento. Well, there's actually a couple. Redmond's Farm Stores, another good one in Salt Lake. Oh, nice. Really, really healthy. Yeah. And it's hard to find. Yeah.
- 20:25But these girls all got their nails and they're all talking about the nails that they got. I got this color and look at this little cool thing. And I'm looking at that going, there is such an emotional social connection to nails to pull that away from someone. Yeah. Because I know how that happens. It's it's it's like smoking together. Right. You know, getting nails together is the new smoking.
- 20:46Oh, my God. You're right. And eyelashes is also the new smoking. All of these things are the new smoke. And it's almost also too, like, it's a massive cultural trend that if you're not keeping up to the trend or the Joneses, you know, like, think about your daughters, right? Your daughters are probably so unique in their school because, you know, they're living a clean lifestyle. In our home school, yeah. That's right. I forgot about that. Unique in her tennis.
- 21:10Oh, yes. We were talking about that when we were at her house. Yeah, yeah, yeah. She goes tennis and there's girls from all the different schools and all different things. And guess what? They love her. They're intrigued. That's right. You're homeschooled. Right. And they think they're cool. And now they used to like stick away from her. But now they want to be her friend. They want to find because she's so confident. She's kind. I love that. She doesn't react. I love that. These other kids. She was great.
- 21:31She's so well adapted. And you said if you're homeschooled, they're not adapted. She is so kind. She knows how to, she knows what- Hold herself. I mean, these kids are saying like, yeah, this girl is depressed and has anxiety and her mom and dad are divorced.
- 21:48And she's like, I'm just nice to her. And, you know, and, you know, but it's really, you know, she's just, she's talking about all the feelings. Yeah. Because we allow her to feel. I love that. And so she's a feeler. She's confident. And she's 13, but she's going through all the feels. The changes. The changes, too. Yeah. But she's just so confident and so aware of the feels. But...
- 22:08she's not mean, she's kind, she still smiles. And so now she's attracting all the outsiders. You'd think they would, at first they're kind of like picking on her. Right, of course, yeah. She's unique. Yeah, but she's unique and she's special. And I'm like, yes. But you know, that's what the beauty industry is selling.
- 22:24So if you can be unique and special, right? Being crunchy can be cool. It can be totally cool. And the thing that's happening in the beauty industry is that they're selling confidence. Right? You put on mascara. You do this thing. You put on these eyelashes. They're selling confidence. Right?
- 22:39Unfortunately, my daughter is a huge consumer of the eyelashes and I wish I could, you know, I try to like the other day she took them off at home and I'm like, oh, you look so beautiful with like just your natural eyes. But, you know, she's it's she's at that age where she's just impacted by what other people are doing a lot. And so it takes a long time to get that.
- 22:58And you really have to like emphasize with your children. Come on, like, like you look gorgeous as you are, love, love yourself as you are, because the beauty industry is just preying on our lacks of confidence, on our low self-esteem in this generation of Instagram and TikTok and social media. You know, when, when, you know, people are just like, you know, wearing all these things and doing all these cosmetic trends. And, you know, like, I know that we partake in it as well, too, working on social media and such, but I think our way of doing it is really to more...
- 23:25with a greater good and a greater intention is to get people switched and transferred over to better quality things that will help them rather than take away from their lives. Right? All while picking their pocket at the same time. And creating a repeat customer.
- 23:40Right. Because now you're ripping your eyelashes off. Now you need their fake ones for the rest of your life. Right now, your nails haven't breathed and are damaged and they're thin. Yeah. Now you need to put more nails on. So it does create these toxicities are, you know, it's called in marketing, the repeat buyer.
- 23:56That's right. Right. The lifetime value. You have an LTV attached to you. Absolutely. So one more toxin and then we're, you know, I'll ask you a couple more questions. Okay. Sounds good. The next one I'm going to definitely say is going to, so I talked about eyelashes, nails, those brand new, those masks that everyone's seen that people put on, they basically look like a scary monster mask. We did, again, an Instagram video on that. The monster mask. Yeah, pretty much. Monster mask. I dated myself.
- 24:20These guys are full of toxins within them. They're basically like they support the cream or the lotion or whatever is used in it is actually put in the packaging and then you just take it out of the packaging. It's like easy, quick way to do like a mask. Again, there's so many easier ways that you can do it. You don't need to be buying that. But you do it. We do it with a little like the ancient way. We have a non-toxic clay mask with some herbs and you paint it on. And my girls do it with. Yeah.
- 24:49their mother it's easy right and so instead they're just doing this rapid quick thing so you know that's another thing too like if you're wanting to do clean beauty there's going to be a little bit of elbow grease involved or you know like you know there's things like gua sha that people use now you know i was uh joking around that i'm like you're knuckling your face but you know what that's an easy way to do it without buying a gua sha or doing doing anything but i mean there's so many ways to do it but you're just going to be putting a little bit more time
- 25:13and elbow grease in order to create it, to create that clean beauty routine. But it's so worth it at the end of the day. Like it just, everything is like, let's take Botox, because Botox is a really big thing. And I think I want to, I definitely want to illustrate it. They're recommending for women now, like earlier and earlier to do Botox in their 20s and such. The problem with Botox is that, well, Botox freezes your face, it's a toxin, botulinum toxin.
- 25:39It is a toxin. It freezes the nerve. And when you freeze the nerve, now, of course, you don't notice any wrinkles. And they're doing this as a preventative. Okay? Like, literally, seriously, as a preventative to prevent wrinkles in the youth at 20. And so, but the problem with this, if you look from a physiological level, is that if you stop using the muscle...
- 26:00muscle attaches onto bone and if you stop use and one of the key signs of aging is your bone begins to deteriorate And you lose the fat pad under your skin So if you now have muscles that are completely frozen like on your upper lip or here on your forehead or around your eyes Guess what all the muscular attachments onto the bone are not putting any force keeping the bone strong and healthy
- 26:25So we don't know yet. There's a consequence. There's a huge consequence. And of course, they don't know yet. They're just testing this on young 20-year-olds, 15-year-olds, whoever's going after this. And literally, like, they don't really know the long-term consequences of it. So I think that that's really important. Again, there's so many ways that you can just do it naturally. Or, I mean, it won't be as good. It won't freeze your face. So you've got to take, you know, the good with the bad. But there's just a better way to age, I feel.
- 26:50All right, so here's, I got a couple final wrap-up questions here. There's one non-toxic trick, or I hate to say hack, but someone could use to help with clean beauty. What would it be? I can guess. You know, you know it. I'm going to say it. I'm going to scream it from the mountaintops. And, you know, I don't ever want this to be a product pitch, but like castor oil. Castor oil, you know, the very first beauty influencer was Cleopatra. And she owed her beauty to castor oil. The whites of her eyes, and this is documented.
- 27:20And you know, castor oil... She was a cutie. She was a cutie. And actually, if you go and take any of your high-priced, you know, nighttime makeup remover or the oils that are trending big these days that are to remove the makeup or... Which, by the way, have a ton of chemicals within them. And really, you could just get away with just using castor oil. Castor oil is an ingredient in most of those. But all your high-priced anti-age serums, if you go look at them, lip gloss, moisturizers, all of them, they all contain castor oil.
- 27:49So why not just go to the source, the original, you know, clean beauty aid and use that and you can use it all over your body. I already mentioned a couple of examples, like with when you use like a foot pumice or when you're doing dry brushing for overall body moisturizer, you can, you can oil pull with castor oil, which is easier to do than doing it with coconut or sesame oil. And that really helps, you know, hydrate, moisturize, nourish the oral mucosal. Yeah, exactly. Yeah.
- 28:17And then, you know, I love supporting that with like a good probiotic afterwards to really keep things well nourished in the mouth. You can wash your face with oil, like literally super, super easy. And it leaves your skin like as soft as a baby's bottom.
- 28:32You can support the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles with castor oil. You can improve the appearance of your brows and your eyelashes. You can improve the appearance of your hair with castor oil. You know, there's just so many ways to use this one versatile oil. Like if you go look at any of my bags or luggage or purses, like I basically got castor oil everywhere.
- 28:51Everywhere you definitely know me because you like pulling out of my bag like you know I got castro for it Right, so there's just so many uses people are gonna be able to follow you on yeah What's be a be well queen queen queen? Yeah, exactly is where I speak a lot about clean beauty. It's actually it's such an important mission for me now and
- 29:09Next question. If there's something that concerns you the most surrounding toxicity, and this could be anything, I've gotten great answers like anger. So any of the pillars that we have with toxicity, absorption, inhalation, ingestion, energy, meaning frequency or whatever, mindset, there's all these different toxicities. And we talked a lot about them with clean beauty. But if there's something that concerns you the most, what do you think it would be? It's stress.
- 29:37Stress makes us age and we look aged faster. Women, in fact, their faces will age faster just from tightened shoulders. Because when you have tight shoulders, you're unable to naturally circulate the blood well. And the skin requires good circulation with good nutrients. And then on top of that, it also blocks up your lymphatic nodes and the area of the lymphatics that is used to pull all the bad stuff, like the cellular waste and everything that needs to come out of the skin.
- 30:06A lot of lymph right here. Yeah. So that would be what it is. And so that's one of the reasons, you know, I believe stress is really a causative factor in aging too fast and also in disease. And I think it's the one thing that sometimes gets forgotten about and we blame everything else. But we've got to look at stress like we really, really do. It's just so important.
- 30:24Yeah, so I agree. You know, I mean, especially when it comes to toxicity, it can cause fear. And I never say that. It's like, hey, just one step at a time. Let's just get you healthier. Let's get this toxic load to drop. So we're not storing and bioaccumulating. Your body can catch up. And what happens with toxicity is the more that we, if we get an overwhelming amount, like if I took, if I drank too many microplastics today, my body couldn't excrete them. It's a credit card. You urinate like a credit card a week now. Exactly.
- 30:53Exactly. And if you're in, and I'm say I'm urinating a half a credit card. Yeah. And that's how much my body can urinate. That other half is storing, causing inflammation in my tissues, leading to brain damage, neurodegenerative conditions, heart disease, like it's being linked to a lot of stuff. So if you can lower the load of stress, whether it's a chemical, physical or emotional stress, your body can handle so much. Yeah. So when you start...
- 31:18Here's the trick that I do. I'm like, you know what? I can't control this. I can only control what I can control. Yeah, that's right. This is not serving me. Yeah, I'm not putting any. I'm just going to let it bounce. Yeah. And it's going to work out. Right. And then retrain my brain. And you are actually the queen. Yes. I mean, you're the queen of words. Yeah.
- 31:36Well, there's a really, really great book called As a Man Thinketh, and it's by James Allen. And there's a quote in there that says, you know, I'm paraphrasing, so I'm not going to get exactly perfect, but you can really tell the age and the struggles and the stressors that people have had by the lines on their face.
- 31:53And it's just so true. Like, like the more stressed you have been, the more trauma that you've experienced, all of these things add and impact your beauty. So it's not just the clean beauty products that we want to be choosing more often. It's also to what we're doing in a daily life. Like the words we're saying to ourselves, that's a huge impactor. Like, I love you. You're beautiful. You're like.
- 32:13Yeah, it's so good. I'll just honestly say it. Louise Hay was famous about doing mirror work. So you'd look in your back rear view mirror and you'd be like, I love you, you're beautiful, and you keep saying that all throughout the day. It's like the Saturday Night Live. Yeah, exactly. It's exactly that, right? Because we do have the impact to change our lives through our words. Shakespeare said, and this is, I can say this perfectly, is that my thoughts fly up, my words stay low, words without thoughts never to heaven go.
- 32:40So if there's some kind of mission or wish that we want in life, well, then we got to put those beautiful thoughts with beautiful words. And then and that that also reduces stress.
- 32:48Well, you are beautiful. And those are beautiful words. And it's a great way to end the show. How can they, where they can find you? Yeah, yeah. So they can find me again on Instagram, TikTok, all the major platforms, at BeWellQueen. And then my company is at Queen of the Thrones. And again, that's on all the major platforms as well, too. So if you want to come on by and see what the clean beauty, the Castor Oil clean beauty revival is as well, would be great. And I have a book coming very, very soon as well, too, which is very exciting. And it's all about Castor Oil clean beauty.
- 33:18I just released my new book. I'm so excited to read it. Yay. So I'll get you a copy. Thank you, Warren. Thanks for being here. Oh, you're just the best. Lots of love, too, for you. All right. Take care. Bye-bye. Thank you.
