- 0:07Speaker 2: Hands to Hester and Hester.
- 0:10Speaker 1: Got it, FATA, You're locked in to Off the Bench
- 0:14Speaker 1: Brack to troll live from the Raising Kine studio. Here's
- 0:21Speaker 1: Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn.
- 0:53Speaker 3: James.
- 1:15Speaker 4: All right, welcome in OTB.
- 1:22Speaker 3: Back to normal. Yeah, the wolf Pack people in the
- 1:26Speaker 3: room today, Back to the wolf back. Sorry, U a
- 1:28Speaker 3: little rusty here he's gonna start the show and didn't
- 1:31Speaker 3: have headphones, so you need those apologize.
- 1:36Speaker 4: Back back together.
- 1:37Speaker 3: What happens when you quit for a couple of weeks.
- 1:40Speaker 3: I told you well ahead of time. Uh, and I
- 1:42Speaker 3: won't be here Monday and Tuesday, but we'll talk about
- 1:44Speaker 3: that later. Obviously, some very very sad news. That's why
- 1:48Speaker 3: we didn't come in yeeing and howling like we normally do.
- 1:51Speaker 3: And I am very excited to be back with the
- 1:53Speaker 3: wolf Pack. But sadly, as most of you have probably
- 1:57Speaker 3: already heard this morning, we lost the goat Skip Bourban.
- 2:03Speaker 3: He passed away last night. And somebody that means everything
- 2:08Speaker 3: to LSU, not.
- 2:09Speaker 4: Just baseball LSU. That just covers it all.
- 2:13Speaker 3: So many people, so many people that he impacted in
- 2:16Speaker 3: his eighty eight years here on earth. And I know
- 2:20Speaker 3: Matt and I had a chance to work with him
- 2:22Speaker 3: in a completely different way. He wasn't our coach, but
- 2:25Speaker 3: he was our athletic director, and we certainly enjoyed every
- 2:29Speaker 3: moment of that. He sat right in front of us,
- 2:32Speaker 3: him and his wife on the planes we had to
- 2:35Speaker 3: We're fortunate to have great conversations with him many times
- 2:38Speaker 3: on road trips. So sadly today we are, you know,
- 2:43Speaker 3: coming on air with the news that Skip Bourbman again
- 2:45Speaker 3: passed away at eighty eight.
- 2:47Speaker 5: Yeah, and the I guess it was early, early in
- 2:50Speaker 5: the early in the morning, so the middle of the night.
- 2:53Speaker 5: And yeah, it is a absolute obviously, I don't have
- 2:58Speaker 5: to say it to anybody. I don't have to tell
- 2:59Speaker 5: you about what Skip Merbin has meant to LSU athletics.
- 3:04Speaker 5: An absolute legend. Somebody that didn't just when he came here,
- 3:09Speaker 5: didn't just build a great like baseball program.
- 3:12Speaker 6: He kind of.
- 3:13Speaker 5: Helped change LSU athletics and the trajectory that this athletic
- 3:16Speaker 5: was programmed.
- 3:17Speaker 6: This athletic program was going.
- 3:20Speaker 5: And you know, for an entire generation of people here
- 3:23Speaker 5: in Louisiana change the way that you would watch your
- 3:27Speaker 5: LSU Tigers play sports, and not just baseball, in every
- 3:30Speaker 5: single sport. So guy that brought three hired it, of
- 3:36Speaker 5: course five national championships as a coach in baseball, but
- 3:40Speaker 5: also as an athletic director, hired three national championship coaches
- 3:46Speaker 5: and one coach that recruited us here. So we are
- 3:50Speaker 5: thankful for everything that he's done, you know, personally for
- 3:53Speaker 5: us in our trajectory of our football playing careers, in
- 3:57Speaker 5: our lives and our families and everything. So everything is
- 4:00Speaker 5: all tied together. We are all tied together as one
- 4:03Speaker 5: big l s U family. And yeah, just extremely sad news,
- 4:08Speaker 5: but also, man, what a what a joy it was
- 4:12Speaker 5: too to know him.
- 4:14Speaker 6: What a joy it was for all of.
- 4:16Speaker 5: Us as l s U fans too, that he was
- 4:21Speaker 5: such a huge part of l s U and l
- 4:23Speaker 5: s U athletics. And we can celebrate that, and we
- 4:27Speaker 5: can celebrate his life and what in his legacy and
- 4:30Speaker 5: what he has.
- 4:30Speaker 6: Meant, and we do. We celebrate that.
- 4:33Speaker 5: We love Skip and you obviously it's sad to the passing,
- 4:38Speaker 5: and but man, what a what a legend.
- 4:41Speaker 6: And we we owe.
- 4:43Speaker 5: A lot obviously, and it's yeah, we can, I think
- 4:47Speaker 5: all of us we can celebrate and look back at
- 4:50Speaker 5: his time and look back at what he did, and
- 4:53Speaker 5: it's a legendary.
- 4:54Speaker 3: It absolutely is. And you said it well because it
- 4:57Speaker 3: wasn't just baseball. It was shoot athletics when he took
- 5:01Speaker 3: over his ad and you know, making moves to bring
- 5:04Speaker 3: in national championship coaches here and to be bold about
- 5:07Speaker 3: what the program could be, to be bold and what
- 5:10Speaker 3: LSU meant. And Lsu didn't have a lot of heyday
- 5:13Speaker 3: in football, right and so he knew what it was
- 5:17Speaker 3: in baseball and.
- 5:17Speaker 4: He wanted that for the football program.
- 5:19Speaker 3: So as athletic director, he goes out and he makes
- 5:22Speaker 3: some incredible hires, changes the complete path of the football
- 5:27Speaker 3: program to try to match what the baseball program was
- 5:31Speaker 3: and just all the things that the access that they
- 5:33Speaker 3: gave us to the best of the best, we're going
- 5:36Speaker 3: to have the best facilities, we're gonna have the best
- 5:38Speaker 3: of everything.
- 5:39Speaker 4: And you know, that was Skip's vision.
- 5:40Speaker 3: So again, we didn't get a chance to play for
- 5:43Speaker 3: him because we're not baseball players, but we did have
- 5:46Speaker 3: a chance to really get to know him, and yes,
- 5:49Speaker 3: Matt did kiss him on top of his head when
- 5:51Speaker 3: we found out we were going to make the national
- 5:52Speaker 3: championship on a plane ride back home from.
- 5:55Speaker 4: Like, why would you not?
- 5:57Speaker 6: Yeah? Why would you not?
- 5:58Speaker 4: It was right there in front of you. It is
- 6:00Speaker 4: so great opportunity. I seize it. You did, and so
- 6:04Speaker 4: Alandra Tata obviously one.
- 6:06Speaker 3: I'm glad to be back with y'all here in the
- 6:08Speaker 3: room before I get back on the road.
- 6:10Speaker 4: Missed everybody in.
- 6:11Speaker 3: This room, and I appreciate y'all holding down the fort
- 6:13Speaker 3: to say the least like y'all did. But I know,
- 6:17Speaker 3: y'all you know obviously LSU baseball fans and elandra I
- 6:19Speaker 3: think that might be your favorite LSU sports So I
- 6:22Speaker 3: know that you know you weren't here obviously when when
- 6:24Speaker 3: Skip was coaching, but I know you've had a chance
- 6:26Speaker 3: to interact with him a bunch over the last couple
- 6:28Speaker 3: of years.
- 6:29Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, I don't really have much more to
- 6:31Speaker 2: add than what y'all already said. He's a legend, and
- 6:33Speaker 2: he made LSU baseball what it is today, like it wouldn't.
- 6:37Speaker 7: I don't think Jay Johnson.
- 6:38Speaker 2: Would be here if Skip didn't build it into what
- 6:42Speaker 2: it is. But other than that he's just like an
- 6:44Speaker 2: extremely good person outside of sports. So just losing a
- 6:49Speaker 2: giant in Baton Rouge and Louisiana and for the LSU
- 6:55Speaker 2: like entire history. So yeah, but other than that, I
- 6:59Speaker 2: don't It's obviously super sad, but I don't have much
- 7:03Speaker 2: more to add.
- 7:03Speaker 5: Other than losing a giant is a great way to
- 7:06Speaker 5: put it. Yeah, you are, and just think about just
- 7:09Speaker 5: like you said, who knows what the program is, but
- 7:13Speaker 5: the but the butterfly effect. Yeah, not even of the
- 7:17Speaker 5: skip Bertman nineteen eighty four, right he got here, that changed.
- 7:22Speaker 6: It's been forty what forty two years.
- 7:24Speaker 2: Since then, so not even just forty LSU baseball, I
- 7:27Speaker 2: think just college baseball in general.
- 7:29Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, for sure.
- 7:31Speaker 8: Yeah, he is the most important LSU figure of my lifetime.
- 7:35Speaker 8: Look at, yes, five national titles, never lost in a
- 7:38Speaker 8: championship game. I mean, we know his winning percentage seven
- 7:41Speaker 8: SEC championships. Great, But you know, when when I was
- 7:44Speaker 8: growing up, like I was born in ninety six, Skip
- 7:46Speaker 8: stop coaching in ninety one and two thousand and one,
- 7:49Speaker 8: so I was I was at the tail end of
- 7:51Speaker 8: Berman as a coach.
- 7:52Speaker 6: But I remember when he took over his athletic director.
- 7:54Speaker 8: You always hear Nick Saban say, Man, when I got
- 7:57Speaker 8: this job, I almost regretted it a little bit because
- 7:59Speaker 8: the facilities were so bad. After Saban was hired, they
- 8:01Speaker 8: needed to bring in a guy that could do that.
- 8:03Speaker 8: Skip Bourbman was the only guy that could make that happen.
- 8:06Speaker 6: He hard Less Miles.
- 8:07Speaker 8: Look what Les Miles did for you guys his career,
- 8:09Speaker 8: and I mean Los Miles was here over a decade,
- 8:12Speaker 8: and I mean people, people loved it. Les Miles was
- 8:14Speaker 8: a beloved coach here. You know, for a number of years.
- 8:17Speaker 8: He was the athletic director. When John Brady took the
- 8:20Speaker 8: men's basketball team to the Final four, the last final
- 8:22Speaker 8: four this program's ever been to, Skip Bourbon was the
- 8:25Speaker 8: athletic director. Like whether it's a coach is an ad
- 8:29Speaker 8: all the all the big time names that have come
- 8:31Speaker 8: through l s U. Like even even now, like after
- 8:35Speaker 8: he's retired, you hear a name and you're like, wait,
- 8:37Speaker 8: Skip's gonna be there, like like the Skip Bourbon Like
- 8:39Speaker 8: even even now like this, it's just it's incredible, Like
- 8:42Speaker 8: you want to talk about a long life worth living
- 8:46Speaker 8: like that was Skip Burman.
- 8:48Speaker 3: You know, and he's so known for his like stories too,
- 8:51Speaker 3: like his his one liners and his stories and all
- 8:54Speaker 3: his foreign players tell him. I can tell you just
- 8:56Speaker 3: from from my personal conversations, Like I don't want to
- 9:00Speaker 3: talk baseball with him because I loved baseball, and you know,
- 9:03Speaker 3: he's a goat. And he would always bring it back
- 9:05Speaker 3: to him playing football. I think it was Miami Beach
- 9:09Speaker 3: High School. He's like, you know, well, let me tell
- 9:12Speaker 3: you about me playing a little football, you know, And
- 9:14Speaker 3: he would go into his stories of playing football. And
- 9:17Speaker 3: I think he ended up coaching baseball at the same
- 9:20Speaker 3: high school that he that he played for.
- 9:21Speaker 4: But like that was my favorite part.
- 9:23Speaker 3: Like he would tell me about him playing football in
- 9:25Speaker 3: high school, and he just had a way to tell
- 9:28Speaker 3: tell a story.
- 9:29Speaker 6: I just remember.
- 9:30Speaker 5: So when I was I first got to LSU, I
- 9:33Speaker 5: remember doing the recruiting. I had met Skip during the
- 9:36Speaker 5: recruiting at you know, some recruiting event or something like that.
- 9:39Speaker 5: I didn't know him, spent a lot of time with
- 9:41Speaker 5: them in the recruiting process, so I didn't have I
- 9:44Speaker 5: hadn't put all the pieces together in my mind. I'm seventeen,
- 9:47Speaker 5: eighteen years old. I hadn't put all the piece in,
- 9:49Speaker 5: like the hierarchy of LSU athletics and the AD and
- 9:52Speaker 5: and all the and all the parts and pieces that
- 9:55Speaker 5: it went into it, and all the higher ups. But
- 9:57Speaker 5: I remember just being a freshman, like walking the hall,
- 10:00Speaker 5: the locker room, and I would see Skip and he
- 10:04Speaker 5: would stop me in the hall and talk to me
- 10:06Speaker 5: and say like he'd know my name. And I was
- 10:09Speaker 5: just like a little es bird, like a freshman that
- 10:12Speaker 5: was fourth fifth on the depth chart, red shirted, like
- 10:16Speaker 5: I didn't mean anything to LSU football at the time,
- 10:18Speaker 5: and it was just like he would stop me and
- 10:20Speaker 5: talk to me and tell me, like ask me how
- 10:22Speaker 5: my parents were doing. And he was just that kind
- 10:24Speaker 5: of guy that was fully invested in when he was
- 10:28Speaker 5: athletic director, and that's how we knew him was the
- 10:30Speaker 5: athletic director before you know, after.
- 10:32Speaker 6: His head coaching time.
- 10:33Speaker 5: But like he was fully invested in all all the sports,
- 10:36Speaker 5: all the players, and cared about the individuals and not
- 10:40Speaker 5: just the athletic program or the team as a whole.
- 10:42Speaker 5: He cared about the actual people on the roster. And
- 10:45Speaker 5: so I remember that that's special to me because I
- 10:49Speaker 5: was I was a nobody and this legend, this giant
- 10:54Speaker 5: would stop and talk and know the history about me
- 10:57Speaker 5: and ask me questions, and it was just like it
- 10:59Speaker 5: was a it was a cool it's a cool memory.
- 11:01Speaker 3: Yeah, and look throughout the day, I'm sure we'll continue
- 11:04Speaker 3: to bring it up.
- 11:04Speaker 4: We'll continue to tell old stories.
- 11:07Speaker 3: We are going to effort to try to maybe get
- 11:09Speaker 3: a player that played for Skip News Skip to kind
- 11:12Speaker 3: of come on and give us his memories of Skip Bourbman.
- 11:15Speaker 3: So many again, legendary stories from Skip about Skip.
- 11:18Speaker 4: He was a legendary storyteller himself.
- 11:21Speaker 3: And so unfortunately we do start the show with the
- 11:24Speaker 3: news of Skip Boerbman passing at the age of eighty eight.
- 11:28Speaker 4: All right, we will step away.

- 14:07Speaker 6: Yeah. When I took this job, he said, Man, I'll
- 14:10Speaker 6: never I'll never miss the show.

- 14:16Speaker 4: Exactly, You're right.
- 14:18Speaker 6: At least I'll check him with you.
- 14:21Speaker 4: Look, look, I do apologize for that, but you know.
- 14:25Speaker 6: I gotta be honest with you.
- 14:26Speaker 5: I think our listeners are tired of hearing me lead
- 14:28Speaker 5: the show around.
- 14:29Speaker 7: They're tired of hearing Marler for sure.
- 14:31Speaker 4: Well, one guy told me that Marlar was going to
- 14:34Speaker 4: take my job.
- 14:36Speaker 2: We had to explain to Marlar what Wally Pitt means.
- 14:39Speaker 2: So there's no way in hell that he is taking
- 14:42Speaker 2: your spot.
- 14:42Speaker 4: That is wild.
- 14:45Speaker 5: That I only know what that means because you've said
- 14:48Speaker 5: it multiple times since I've been on this show.
- 14:51Speaker 4: You're not a baseball guy.
- 14:52Speaker 8: He played baseball and like just just casual as ever,
- 14:55Speaker 8: He's like, it's Wally Pip.
- 14:57Speaker 5: Here's that guy. Okay, I believe I heard that it was.
- 15:01Speaker 5: It was one hundred years ago.
- 15:02Speaker 7: It was a while ago.
- 15:05Speaker 4: We talk about all the time. I don't know how
- 15:09Speaker 4: to go? How to go? I was a great question, honestly, honestly,
- 15:12Speaker 4: great question could have been.
- 15:14Speaker 7: But I'm just kidding a lot better.
- 15:17Speaker 6: A lot of we gotta go to the tape.
- 15:19Speaker 2: I thought Matt did great, and so did our co hosts.
- 15:23Speaker 4: Yeah, we have held it down.
- 15:24Speaker 5: We had a lot of feelings that I'm very thankful for,
- 15:27Speaker 5: Richard Dixon, Chris Marler people.
- 15:32Speaker 4: Yeah, there's a lot of villains. We did have a
- 15:36Speaker 4: lot of Taylor.
- 15:37Speaker 6: Taylor was gone to We had a lot of.
- 15:39Speaker 7: I was out for two days, so.
- 15:41Speaker 6: Yeah, a lot of producers.
- 15:45Speaker 2: Well, to be fair, he went to Saint Bart's like
- 15:47Speaker 2: a week before this.
- 15:48Speaker 4: All.
- 15:48Speaker 5: Yeah, Oh, come on, guys, don't don't hold that over
- 15:51Speaker 5: my head.
- 15:54Speaker 7: I'm not We're not going to like.
- 15:55Speaker 6: One guy gets bottle service for an entire week.
- 15:58Speaker 7: God forbid, a saxophone comes up on.
- 16:00Speaker 2: The table for a few days, holding it over your head.
- 16:03Speaker 7: But we're not gonna act like you've been like locked
- 16:05Speaker 7: up here.
- 16:06Speaker 4: You went to St. Barts. I went to Latrobe, Pa,
- 16:09Speaker 4: you know, I mean.
- 16:11Speaker 6: Texas Latrob Pa had a kid starts.
- 16:15Speaker 5: It's not like the other You could argue that talking
- 16:18Speaker 5: to all the big time NFL head coaches.
- 16:20Speaker 3: And quarterbacks is more fun than a party vacation. It
- 16:24Speaker 3: was fun, But I saw videos of your vacation. I'll
- 16:27Speaker 3: take one of those.
- 16:28Speaker 2: Someone in the Chad just said that Skip wouldn't want
- 16:31Speaker 2: us to change for him, that we should have Ye,
- 16:33Speaker 2: do you know what?
- 16:34Speaker 6: That's a probably many That's a good point.
- 16:37Speaker 7: It's a good point. But I felt a little weird.
- 16:39Speaker 4: It came on like, yeah, yo.
- 16:42Speaker 6: Guys, guess what happened? Yeah, yeah, no.
- 16:44Speaker 3: Look, I forgot my headphones from my bag. I was
- 16:47Speaker 3: trying to do the show. To start that headphones, I'm rusty,
- 16:51Speaker 3: you know, because I've had I've had the over the ears.
- 16:54Speaker 7: I did say, I'm asa Skip, just straight to the intro.
- 16:58Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 17:00Speaker 5: I think a lot of people, a lot of really
- 17:01Speaker 5: great people and people that care would would say that.
- 17:04Speaker 5: You could say that a lot like, yeah, they wouldn't
- 17:06Speaker 5: want you to go out of your way to go
- 17:08Speaker 5: in mourn or to go you know whatever. But we
- 17:13Speaker 5: we wanted everybody he wants to show respect. I mean yeah,
- 17:18Speaker 5: and it's and it did it, you know, of course
- 17:20Speaker 5: with a skip skip passing.
- 17:22Speaker 6: In the middle of the night, so you appreciate that. Yeah, absolutely.
- 17:31Speaker 4: Jump the ear in Rogers interview we did yesterday.
- 17:35Speaker 6: Did that yesterday. Yeah, we've been teasing it for days.
- 17:37Speaker 2: Yeah, we're like coming up next. He's the Lakers being
- 17:45Speaker 2: sold like three times.
- 17:47Speaker 4: Okay, talk about it. We did it.
- 17:50Speaker 5: We have one of those one minute segments of yesterday.
- 17:54Speaker 4: You see something, you don't say how long you're teasing
- 17:56Speaker 4: it for?
- 17:58Speaker 6: We say, coming up. Yeah, they came up.
- 18:01Speaker 3: I did feel bad since y'all did play the Aaron interview, like, yeah,
- 18:07Speaker 3: nobody likes to play pranks like me here.
- 18:10Speaker 5: Yeah, he's like nobody's like nobody has fun anymore.
- 18:14Speaker 6: I'm so sad.
- 18:16Speaker 3: Because we had Cam Heyward and t J. Watt like
- 18:19Speaker 3: together before then. We were asking him about Aaron and whatever,
- 18:24Speaker 3: and they were kind of talking about the prank City
- 18:27Speaker 3: does pool or whatever, and almost like they didn't.
- 18:30Speaker 4: Join any of that.
- 18:31Speaker 6: I'm like, man, I always all those young guys are
- 18:35Speaker 6: so serious.
- 18:36Speaker 5: It's like all it's like it's like all the college
- 18:38Speaker 5: kids now they don't even go party anymore.
- 18:39Speaker 3: Yeah, was like yeah, I play their video games. I
- 18:43Speaker 3: don't play video games. I want to throw water.
- 18:45Speaker 6: I want to get airsoft guns and shoot you as
- 18:47Speaker 6: you walk to your room.
- 18:49Speaker 3: He gave me credit for the for the best prank,
- 18:51Speaker 3: though he said that you had the best one of
- 18:53Speaker 3: all time.
- 18:57Speaker 5: He had the story mixed up. They had it backwards.
- 19:01Speaker 5: They did it to you, they did it to me.
- 19:04Speaker 5: So it was before. It was before the last fourth
- 19:08Speaker 5: preseason game. We were in Kansas City in my third
- 19:11Speaker 5: year in the league. Is so I was getting I
- 19:14Speaker 5: was starting the game. It was my first start ever.
- 19:17Speaker 5: I know, like I was always a first bus guy.
- 19:19Speaker 5: You go to the first bus, I get there, and like,
- 19:20Speaker 5: especially for this game I was starting, I was nervous.
- 19:23Speaker 4: I was like, I'm on my.
- 19:24Speaker 5: Third year, so it's like I haven't had to go
- 19:28Speaker 5: in in a big time situation yet in my career.
- 19:32Speaker 5: Like if I don't look like I'm playing for my
- 19:34Speaker 5: job right now, like I'm a third year guy, like
- 19:36Speaker 5: I have to go perform well, or like they're going
- 19:39Speaker 5: to look for another backup, Like I have to perform well.
- 19:42Speaker 6: So I was nervous. I wanted to get to the
- 19:43Speaker 6: I wanted to get to the game.
- 19:44Speaker 5: Wanted to get stretched out, go over the playbook and
- 19:47Speaker 5: just like get a feel for the stadium. Well, I
- 19:52Speaker 5: didn't make the first bus because sitting TJ. Lang and
- 19:56Speaker 5: Mark Tauscher as well had locked me in. They had
- 19:59Speaker 5: made the ring of like it was it was towels
- 20:03Speaker 5: taped in.
- 20:04Speaker 3: It was I think part of it was a I
- 20:06Speaker 3: think the part that was actually wrapped around the door
- 20:09Speaker 3: handle was an iron. Yeah, because they had they had
- 20:12Speaker 3: like the cord, the electrical cord so it couldn't break
- 20:15Speaker 3: and uh yeah, I couldn't budge my door open, and
- 20:19Speaker 3: I was calling people. Yeah I missed the first boss, Yeah,
- 20:24Speaker 3: I almost missed the second. Both Mike Mike McCarthy like
- 20:26Speaker 3: because I called into the side and because we're talking about,
- 20:29Speaker 3: you know, y'all all being together, and then we started
- 20:31Speaker 3: talking about Aaron being there and like brings back memories
- 20:33Speaker 3: and this is off the air, and he's like, yeah,
- 20:35Speaker 3: it brings back great memories and also memories of all
- 20:40Speaker 3: those guys that you talked about being real dummies.
- 20:45Speaker 6: Hey, championships, championships, Okay, championship in town.
- 20:48Speaker 4: You know he did he did mention.
- 20:51Speaker 3: He's like, yeah, I've never seen puffier and redder eyes
- 20:54Speaker 3: on a Saturday morning, then sitting and flying after having
- 21:01Speaker 3: a couple of beers there in guble Copops.
- 21:03Speaker 6: So well, it's team building, that's what it is.
- 21:05Speaker 5: That's what he was laughing about it. That's what these
- 21:07Speaker 5: kids these days don't understand. I mean, he laughs about it.
- 21:10Speaker 5: But he kept me around there for six years.
- 21:11Speaker 4: I didn't. I don't think he thought it was a
- 21:13Speaker 4: negative thing. He thought it was good Pittsburgh.
- 21:16Speaker 5: Yeah, but yeah, during that story, I was very late.
- 21:22Speaker 4: I was very upset, very mad, pretty sure.
- 21:25Speaker 5: A punch of people in the locker room on the
- 21:27Speaker 5: face left hand to I had to play a game
- 21:30Speaker 5: that went I went through for three hun a big deal.
- 21:34Speaker 4: It was a good brank though.
- 21:35Speaker 6: It was a real good brank.
- 21:36Speaker 4: Did you get him back? Oh?
- 21:38Speaker 5: We like in some form of fashion. Yeah, yeah, you know,
- 21:43Speaker 5: I don't even remember how there's we did so much.
- 21:45Speaker 5: I mean it was it was. It was a good team.
- 21:47Speaker 5: We had a good time in Green Bay. And it
- 21:49Speaker 5: sounds like there's a bunch of Pittsburgh's got a bunch
- 21:52Speaker 5: of no fun guys.
- 21:53Speaker 4: Yeah, not as fun as you were.
- 21:55Speaker 6: Of course.
- 21:57Speaker 4: It didn't.
- 21:59Speaker 6: DNA. You can't be too serious. I get to college
- 22:02Speaker 6: where you all at St. Norbert's.
- 22:04Speaker 5: Norbert's College is the Peer Wisconsin, which is basically Green Bay.
- 22:09Speaker 5: I got you actually have to drive everything in Green
- 22:12Speaker 5: Bay ten minutes. There's nothing further than ten minutes in
- 22:16Speaker 5: Green Day.
- 22:16Speaker 4: It was literally just like yeah, no.
- 22:19Speaker 5: The place that I my condo that I lived was
- 22:22Speaker 5: into Peer and it was like thirty seconds from Saint Norbert's.
- 22:24Speaker 5: So it was like, right, it was, it's ten minutes
- 22:26Speaker 5: from the stadium.
- 22:27Speaker 4: I don't really know why y'all did that.
- 22:28Speaker 6: You could have just stayed in your condo. I could have,
- 22:32Speaker 6: but but it was is.
- 22:35Speaker 4: Like forty minutes from Pittsburgh for five minutes.
- 22:37Speaker 5: I mean, we we kept the same walk like we
- 22:39Speaker 5: practiced at Lambeau. We practiced in our same practice field,
- 22:43Speaker 5: practice facility.
- 22:44Speaker 4: We just all stayed.
- 22:45Speaker 5: They wanted us all stayed like corrals. I got you
- 22:48Speaker 5: and keep us. It was like a sleep and it
- 22:50Speaker 5: was bad. It was like dorm room. Yeah, that's what
- 22:52Speaker 5: this was, big time, like old school dorm rooms.
- 22:55Speaker 2: Like.
- 22:55Speaker 3: Trust me, I've been to a lot of the old
- 22:57Speaker 3: school Pentagon I've been a lot of Deep three campuses
- 23:00Speaker 3: in the last two and a half weeks where any
- 23:03Speaker 3: of them haunted like St.
- 23:06Speaker 6: Norbert's was.
- 23:06Speaker 3: So the Bills practiced somewhere in Rochester. I don't even
- 23:10Speaker 3: feel bad. I don't even remember the schools.
- 23:11Speaker 4: Now, but really so they were, they were there.
- 23:15Speaker 3: The chiefs were at Missouri Western State University.
- 23:21Speaker 4: Have you know?
- 23:26Speaker 3: That's exactly what I said. I was like, did Marlar
- 23:29Speaker 3: play baseball here? I had another direction to this place,
- 23:33Speaker 3: so I have. I have been to a lot of
- 23:36Speaker 3: D threes because the ones that don't practice at their
- 23:39Speaker 3: facility it's a D three college.
- 23:41Speaker 4: Now, I'll say this, there's some really.
- 23:43Speaker 3: Nice D three colleges across the country, like that one
- 23:47Speaker 3: in in Latrobe. I think Saint Vincent, like incredible. You
- 23:53Speaker 3: know who's from Latrobe, Pa? Because I got a history.
- 23:56Speaker 3: Let's we're there two days only two day trip that
- 23:57Speaker 3: we had. You had a legendary golfer.
- 24:02Speaker 6: Tiger Woods, Arnold Palmer, Okay.
- 24:07Speaker 4: Legendary.
- 24:10Speaker 3: Children's TV show mister Rogers, Yes, mister Rogers, and are
- 24:18Speaker 3: everywhere I got around this town.
- 24:20Speaker 6: So the place is not that big though. I mean
- 24:22Speaker 6: those are two.
- 24:23Speaker 4: Two good ones Latrobe, PA.
- 24:27Speaker 6: That's two good ones. Yeah, I mean, tell nobody's heard
- 24:30Speaker 6: of yeah, not bad.
- 24:32Speaker 3: So we went to so on Friday they had a
- 24:34Speaker 3: practice and it was very cool. Like, by the way,
- 24:37Speaker 3: I've never seen so many hills and mountains in my life.
- 24:39Speaker 3: I was like, this is not where I'm from. Heels
- 24:42Speaker 3: He'll like a heel heel, uh because we're driving through them,
- 24:46Speaker 3: and I'm like, well, this is cool. But we watched
- 24:48Speaker 3: practice from one because like the practice field was like
- 24:51Speaker 3: in a valley and like we got a chance to
- 24:53Speaker 3: sit on top so we could see every field because
- 24:54Speaker 3: they like three of them, you know. So that was
- 24:57Speaker 3: fun on Friday. But then on Saturday they go to
- 24:59Speaker 3: Latrobe High School and it's hacked. Oh, ten thousand people there. Yeah,
- 25:06Speaker 3: and then they had a track around the field and
- 25:09Speaker 3: like right behind it they had like this offense and
- 25:12Speaker 3: it was five deep. That's crazy, and all these players
- 25:15Speaker 3: signed autographs forever.
- 25:17Speaker 6: They had getting volunteers on the track.
- 25:20Speaker 3: Oh yeah, they had to get after it practice like
- 25:22Speaker 3: we did our radio show in the stands on the
- 25:26Speaker 3: fifty yard line. Yeah, it was really cool. Like we
- 25:28Speaker 3: had fans like kind of asking us questions, like while
- 25:31Speaker 3: we're on there, We're like we'll get to we'll try
- 25:32Speaker 3: to get to that one. But so we did the
- 25:35Speaker 3: show like during their practice. That's really very like there's
- 25:38Speaker 3: an old steel meal in the in like the distance
- 25:41Speaker 3: they see it.
- 25:42Speaker 4: I wasn't. Oh my god.
- 25:47Speaker 5: People always kind of complain and make fun of people
- 25:49Speaker 5: from Texas, like always being so proud of being from Texas.
- 25:53Speaker 5: Try try mean someone from Pittsburgh. It's it's even elevated.
- 25:58Speaker 4: Yes, I agree with that.
- 25:59Speaker 2: I would like people from Louisiana to meet themselves, not
- 26:02Speaker 2: from because they are the same way, but are.
- 26:04Speaker 4: The most very proudful from where I'm from. And you
- 26:07Speaker 4: should be the threes up all the time.
- 26:10Speaker 6: But yeah, if you if but if you.
- 26:12Speaker 7: Want to like if not that like screams Pittsburgh is
- 26:16Speaker 7: if you.
- 26:17Speaker 3: Ever want like just like nostalgia, like you want to
- 26:19Speaker 3: go back and you want to like a little piece
- 26:22Speaker 3: of Americana, go to that practice.
- 26:24Speaker 6: Yeah, man, I love Mike McCarthy.
- 26:26Speaker 4: It is it is.
- 26:27Speaker 7: They just need a better alternate.
- 26:30Speaker 6: I'm missing missing them already, bet you do. It's a
- 26:35Speaker 6: good coach, good dude. It seems like a great loves
- 26:39Speaker 6: players having fun. Yeah, all right, Jerry can't have that,
- 26:43Speaker 6: So that makes sense when we come.
- 26:44Speaker 4: Back, I can give y'all the only camp that was
- 26:46Speaker 4: a little Oh.
- 26:47Speaker 7: Yes, I was gonna ask you for your favorite one.
- 26:50Speaker 3: We'll tell you what that team is and what that
- 26:53Speaker 3: location was when we come back here.
- 26:55Speaker 4: On their TV.
- 26:56Speaker 3: Off the bench, I got Pools dot com, Russellpools dot com,
- 27:01Speaker 3: the website for Russell pool Company.
- 27:04Speaker 4: I'll tell you what.
- 27:05Speaker 3: There's a couple of places that I was or I
- 27:08Speaker 3: wish I had a pool to jump in. Oh, it
- 27:10Speaker 3: was hotter than hot and you live in the hottest one.
- 27:13Speaker 3: So go ahead and build that dream pool in your backyard. Now,
- 27:16Speaker 3: one thing I always remember, they're gonna be there throughout
- 27:19Speaker 3: the entire process, from the very beginning, the construction building
- 27:22Speaker 3: your pool and the maintenance for your pool.
- 27:24Speaker 4: So they'll be there afterwards as well.
- 27:26Speaker 3: And if you bought a house that has a boring pool,
- 27:28Speaker 3: a kidney shape pool with no features to it, they
- 27:31Speaker 3: can come in and they can beyond say you, they
- 27:33Speaker 3: can upgrade you, all right. They can add so many
- 27:35Speaker 3: different features to that existing pool.
- 27:38Speaker 5: Go ahead, reach out to them Russellpools dot com and
- 27:40Speaker 5: don't take our word for a go to their website.
- 27:41Speaker 5: Go to Russelepools dot com and just look at their
- 27:43Speaker 5: gallery work. Look at all the work they've done. They
- 27:45Speaker 5: can do like a resort style. They can do any
- 27:47Speaker 5: They can do a square pool, they can do a circle,
- 27:49Speaker 5: they can do literally anything. Like Jake said, also renovations.
- 27:52Speaker 5: If you bought a house with an old pool and
- 27:53Speaker 5: you want to you wanted to have a little glow.
- 27:55Speaker 6: Up, we go to Wrusselepools dot com. Russellpools dot Com.
- 28:04Speaker 1: Two thousand and seven, Shamps Purple and Gold to the core.
- 28:08Speaker 1: This is off the Bench with Hester and Flynn, Matt
- 28:12Speaker 1: and Rouge's go to for all things Louisiana sports. You remember.
- 28:22Speaker 9: Junk Spin?
- 28:25Speaker 1: Do you remember.
- 28:28Speaker 7: We had all begin just.
- 28:30Speaker 4: See all right?
- 28:33Speaker 3: Welcome back He and OTB Wolf back back together here
- 28:36Speaker 3: in the Raise of King Studio. I don't know, I'd
- 28:44Speaker 3: have to get it out and look how many teams,
- 28:46Speaker 3: how many camps we went to. I think it's something
- 28:47Speaker 3: like fourteen and sixteen days or something of that nature.
- 28:51Speaker 3: I got two more coming up here to finish it
- 28:53Speaker 3: up next week. But I'm gonna let you guess, like
- 28:57Speaker 3: which one may be like didn't hit because I mean
- 29:01Speaker 3: we went to you know, some of the best the
- 29:03Speaker 3: playoff teams Chargers, Bills, Patriots, Texans, Steelers. You know a
- 29:09Speaker 3: lot of really good teams that we think are going
- 29:12Speaker 3: to be good again. And he guess is the ones
- 29:14Speaker 3: like damn, maybe just didn't hit?
- 29:16Speaker 4: Oh yeah, for sure. No, it's not a guess guarantee.
- 29:19Speaker 6: What's that?
- 29:20Speaker 4: Browns Brown?
- 29:23Speaker 3: Yes, I'm surrised any I will say that the facility
- 29:27Speaker 3: is very nice, very the fact that you know that,
- 29:32Speaker 3: I don't know why I know that that is.
- 29:38Speaker 4: Monkoan was great.
- 29:39Speaker 3: He was electric on radio, like his first interview that
- 29:42Speaker 3: he's given to NFL radio. So like we were very
- 29:45Speaker 3: excited for that, and I think I kind of guilty
- 29:47Speaker 3: the mentals.
- 29:48Speaker 4: Like get over here.
- 29:51Speaker 3: You have yelled at me as a coach, I'm yelling
- 29:55Speaker 3: at you, now get over here.
- 29:56Speaker 4: He was great.
- 29:57Speaker 3: Now we didn't really like, you know, we didn't ask
- 30:00Speaker 3: or quarterbacks they don't have one right now because you know,
- 30:02Speaker 3: they got a competition and we knew we weren't gonna
- 30:04Speaker 3: get that anyway and whatever.
- 30:06Speaker 4: But it was like pulling teeth to get players like and.
- 30:10Speaker 3: We got Drake May, Josh Allen, shared Golf, Justin Herbert,
- 30:15Speaker 3: you name it, like we got them all head coach like.
- 30:17Speaker 5: Every time you would post something, I was like, oh wow,
- 30:19Speaker 5: Lita got Lamar, they got Josh, they got it.
- 30:23Speaker 4: But the Browns they were like, they gave us two players.
- 30:26Speaker 3: Our guys are too big time in fairness, like for
- 30:30Speaker 3: Wessenger and Harold Fannon, you couldn't get a Jared Verse.
- 30:35Speaker 4: No, we're supposed to get Grant. We're supposed to get
- 30:38Speaker 4: a Grand Delp. Like ah blah blah blah blah.
- 30:41Speaker 3: I'm like, no, I know Grant, And if I call
- 30:43Speaker 3: him and ask him, did y'all ask him to do this,
- 30:46Speaker 3: He's gonna tell me no, Like, just go get him.
- 30:49Speaker 3: I've known him for a long time. I promise you
- 30:51Speaker 3: Grant's gonna come out here if you go ask him.
- 30:54Speaker 3: It's the only one everybody else. And again, like I
- 30:57Speaker 3: do appreciate getting Monk in because that was the best
- 30:59Speaker 3: part of it. He was He was really good. He
- 31:01Speaker 3: only said one curse word, which was shocking. But yeah,
- 31:05Speaker 3: all these teams, man, they were great. The pr stats
- 31:07Speaker 3: did incredible job making sure yesterday, which we're going to
- 31:10Speaker 3: get into after this break.
- 31:12Speaker 4: I was at Saints Camp. Oh boy, they you know what,
- 31:18Speaker 4: screw it, Let's go ahead and get into it right now.
- 31:19Speaker 3: Excited, Okay, carved up the Jags.
- 31:26Speaker 4: I'm talking about.
- 31:27Speaker 3: Really, I'm like a thirteen win team, And I don't
- 31:31Speaker 3: care who was at practice and what report you were reading.
- 31:33Speaker 4: I'm just telling you.
- 31:33Speaker 3: I stayed for the whole practice, and I had my
- 31:35Speaker 3: junior reporter, Memphis Houster with me, and we both saw it.
- 31:40Speaker 3: They diced them up the Saints defense. They couldn't block
- 31:45Speaker 3: the rush like Saints defense. The Jacks couldn't block the rush.
- 31:47Speaker 3: That was awesome to see. Now, of course, we all
- 31:51Speaker 3: know the offensive guys are the superior siute of the football,
- 31:53Speaker 3: So that's where I stayed most of the time. Tyler Shuck,
- 31:56Speaker 3: Chris olave zon vele play after play. The running backs
- 32:03Speaker 3: had really good runs. Ak had a couple of really
- 32:05Speaker 3: nice runs. Spencer Rattler had an incredible deep ball he
- 32:09Speaker 3: hit up like.
- 32:09Speaker 2: He's gonna start the prey that team.
- 32:14Speaker 3: So I was there going back to last year and
- 32:19Speaker 3: last year when we were there and I talked about
- 32:21Speaker 3: this and maybe maybe I'll get them to send it
- 32:22Speaker 3: to me if we can get time today to play
- 32:25Speaker 3: the Tyler shuck. But I was like, dude, when I
- 32:27Speaker 3: was here last year, I interviewed three quarterbacks when I
- 32:31Speaker 3: was there last year, it was Jake Hayner's day. To
- 32:33Speaker 3: start from where we were last year at going to
- 32:37Speaker 3: that training team to where we're at this year, it's
- 32:39Speaker 3: not even a distant cousin. Like, they looked so much better,
- 32:44Speaker 3: and they look crisp, and they looked together and organized,
- 32:48Speaker 3: and look you at a new coaching staff. They're trying
- 32:50Speaker 3: to learn each other. Last year it was a well
- 32:53Speaker 3: oiled machine. And again if it was against the Dolphins,
- 32:56Speaker 3: because I was at the commander's camp and the Commanders.
- 32:58Speaker 4: Tore the Dolphins up. Okay, you're probably supposed to.
- 33:02Speaker 3: Jacksonville won thirteen games and ran their whole team back.
- 33:05Speaker 3: Like that's the same team, right the Saints. You know,
- 33:08Speaker 3: that's the number one pass rush team in the NFL.
- 33:10Speaker 3: And the Saints that they may have given up like
- 33:13Speaker 3: two sacks and like a twenty two play like kind
- 33:16Speaker 3: of passing period, which is pretty good.
- 33:19Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 33:21Speaker 5: I think the nobody wanted to see a different team
- 33:24Speaker 5: come on the Pritese field more than the Saints offense.
- 33:27Speaker 5: From all the reports that we have been getting that
- 33:28Speaker 5: the defense was kind of winning most of the days,
- 33:31Speaker 5: the offense was had had their moments, but the defense
- 33:34Speaker 5: was kind of dominating most of training camp for the Saints,
- 33:37Speaker 5: which is which is fairly normal, like you probably get
- 33:40Speaker 5: a couple like normally, I would say the offense wins
- 33:42Speaker 5: a few more days than what the Saints were doing.
- 33:45Speaker 5: So we didn't really know. I know, Nick Underhill comes
- 33:49Speaker 5: on our show every Tuesday. It was I feel like
- 33:52Speaker 5: he started getting a little nervous, like even this past Tuesday,
- 33:54Speaker 5: starting to get a little nervous that especially red zone,
- 33:56Speaker 5: especially red zone that they still weren't having.
- 33:58Speaker 4: That was like a red zone might have been the
- 34:00Speaker 4: best period they had.
- 34:01Speaker 5: So like he was saying they were so bad at
- 34:04Speaker 5: at finishing drives in the red zone last year.
- 34:06Speaker 4: It's carried over to training camp.
- 34:08Speaker 5: So it's and I asked, I was like, hey, is
- 34:11Speaker 5: this more of like the offense struggling or if they're struggling,
- 34:16Speaker 5: that means the defense is doing well or is it
- 34:18Speaker 5: the defense playing well? And he really couldn't put his
- 34:20Speaker 5: finger on it, couldn't, couldn't have a great tough camp.
- 34:23Speaker 5: It's it's impossible, right, But the Jacksonville Jaguars come on
- 34:29Speaker 5: the practice field and nobody was probably happier than the
- 34:31Speaker 5: Saints offense because they get to actually run plays that
- 34:34Speaker 5: they hadn't been running against the same defense every single day.
- 34:37Speaker 5: So it's awesome to hear Saints fans that's that's it's
- 34:40Speaker 5: great news. And like the quarterbacks performing well, the passing
- 34:43Speaker 5: game looking good, like you said, I mean you just said,
- 34:45Speaker 5: you have a second year head coach now who's an
- 34:47Speaker 5: offensive minded guy, who's had success as an offensive coordinator
- 34:50Speaker 5: at every single stop he's had. And then you got
- 34:53Speaker 5: a a second year quarterback making that huge jump that
- 34:58Speaker 5: I the biggest jump that you can make in your
- 35:00Speaker 5: your career as a quarterback is you're one to two.
- 35:02Speaker 5: So we'll see if he can. But all indications from
- 35:05Speaker 5: yesterday says that, man, they are, they're looking sharp, they're
- 35:08Speaker 5: looking good. And like you talked about training camp last year,
- 35:12Speaker 5: like last year was a quarterback competition between two young
- 35:15Speaker 5: guys trying.
- 35:16Speaker 4: Not to make mistakes.
- 35:17Speaker 5: So and you know, I kind of I told this
- 35:20Speaker 5: to Nick when he was saying how different it looked
- 35:22Speaker 5: this year. I was like, well, last year you had
- 35:24Speaker 5: guys that were taking a lot of checkdowns because they
- 35:26Speaker 5: didn't want to make mistakes because if you make a mistake.
- 35:29Speaker 6: It's like it's a competition. This year, they know where
- 35:32Speaker 6: they stand.
- 35:32Speaker 5: This year. Tyler knows that he's a starter. This year,
- 35:35Speaker 5: Spencer knows that he's the backup. Like, they can now
- 35:38Speaker 5: go and work their craft. They can test things, they
- 35:42Speaker 5: can try things, they can try, try a different type
- 35:45Speaker 5: of thrower, different type of read to see if it works,
- 35:47Speaker 5: to push the limits of what they can do and
- 35:49Speaker 5: accomplish as an offense instead of playing safe like in
- 35:53Speaker 5: a competition. So I think you're seeing that. I think
- 35:55Speaker 5: you're seeing more And Nick was excited about that because
- 35:58Speaker 5: you're seeing more down the field throws. Last year was
- 36:00Speaker 5: like okay, third re check down like type situation, and
- 36:03Speaker 5: this year it's a lot more free flowing.
- 36:05Speaker 3: Yeah, and the move of the ball period they each
- 36:06Speaker 3: hit a big play. If I'm the New York Jets,
- 36:09Speaker 3: like Spencer Raler would be my starting quarterback. Yeah, no
- 36:13Speaker 3: doubt about it. After watching him play yesterday, him and
- 36:16Speaker 3: Shug both, I can't now. If I'm the Saints, I'm like,
- 36:19Speaker 3: I'm not giving you him.
- 36:21Speaker 5: Very be very careful without saying anything positive about Ray.
- 36:26Speaker 7: Why Matt keeps getting come for?
- 36:29Speaker 3: I keep getting on Twitter by whom just the people, masses,
- 36:33Speaker 3: the people win the crowd. Well, both quarterbacks played really well.
- 36:39Speaker 7: How dare you say that that's.
- 36:41Speaker 3: Just a DP ball over the top beat the defense.
- 36:45Speaker 3: He completed like a nice like eighteen yard comeback, like
- 36:48Speaker 3: through it before the receiver broke to come back and
- 36:51Speaker 3: put it on the money.
- 36:53Speaker 4: They both had a really big day.
- 36:55Speaker 6: There's they only have one quarterback. Then I sold the clip.
- 36:58Speaker 8: It's like, you know, the ball gets thrown, a Lave
- 37:01Speaker 8: goes up over the dB, pulls it down runs. You're like,
- 37:03Speaker 8: that's a third stringer. None those Travis Hunter. Those Travis
- 37:06Speaker 8: Hunter that he caught the ball over.
- 37:07Speaker 3: And Travis Hunter was in a blender yesterday. He got
- 37:12Speaker 3: he got kind of got picked on in the reddit.
- 37:14Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 37:15Speaker 5: Yeah, because the Saints are. You know, Saints have always
- 37:18Speaker 5: been there the hammer, not the new Yeah.
- 37:19Speaker 4: Saints were.
- 37:20Speaker 3: I think they were coming in from like the twelve
- 37:22Speaker 3: yard line. It was around the twelve, and they had
- 37:25Speaker 3: play from the twelve where he hit a Lave for
- 37:27Speaker 3: a touchdown. Then they had to play from the eight
- 37:29Speaker 3: where he had bele Yeah.
- 37:31Speaker 5: I did see that clip where Lave pretty much head
- 37:34Speaker 5: topped him like he he most Travis Hunter and news
- 37:37Speaker 5: flash for everybody love not a big guy. No, and
- 37:41Speaker 5: he went up though he went up. Not a great
- 37:43Speaker 5: look for Travis Hunter. Like you said, like he was
- 37:45Speaker 5: getting bullied yesterday, which is uh, I hate to see.
- 37:49Speaker 6: It, Jake. Everybody saying Bryce Lance had a big day.
- 37:52Speaker 4: He did. Yeah, he had. He had a win. I
- 37:54Speaker 4: think he had a win over Hunter too.
- 37:56Speaker 6: He was super productive.
- 37:58Speaker 4: Colleague, the baron had had one trying to think. I
- 38:03Speaker 4: don't remember who the quarterback was.
- 38:04Speaker 8: I mean, think about how concerned Saints fans were with
- 38:07Speaker 8: the receiver position.
- 38:08Speaker 4: Did you guess that was my theme yesterday?
- 38:10Speaker 3: My theme yesterday was last year you had three quarterbacks
- 38:14Speaker 3: and you didn't know who was gonna start, and you
- 38:16Speaker 3: had no receivers.
- 38:18Speaker 4: And I, like, I asked everybody.
- 38:19Speaker 3: I asked Mickey Lomis when he came on, and I
- 38:20Speaker 3: was like, Hey, how's this feel compared to that?
- 38:22Speaker 4: He goes hold a lot better, a lot better.
- 38:25Speaker 3: Yeah, when they love the three guys they were drafted at.
- 38:28Speaker 6: Receiver, Oh, I bet they're all gonna play.
- 38:31Speaker 5: I mean Barrion Brown was the camp darling for the
- 38:33Speaker 5: first week, week and a half. Right, every single day,
- 38:35Speaker 5: I was like this is brown another day, another day,
- 38:38Speaker 5: stacking days on top of each other.
- 38:40Speaker 4: If Tyson was.
- 38:41Speaker 7: It yesterday that Tyson left, Yes, but it was minor.
- 38:44Speaker 3: And because I was there, he was like, man, he's
- 38:48Speaker 3: not Look, he is not a player that's going to
- 38:50Speaker 3: play seventeen games, right, I don't think he's just not
- 38:54Speaker 3: hen you know. And but I think that's why the
- 38:57Speaker 3: Saints drafted two receivers behind him.
- 38:59Speaker 4: He gonna play like they wanted to play seventeen games.
- 39:02Speaker 5: Well, but in fairness, not a lot of guys play
- 39:05Speaker 5: seventeen games.
- 39:06Speaker 3: No, No, you can look at the like the snat leaders.
- 39:09Speaker 3: There's a lot of fifteen, sixteen game guys. It's just
- 39:12Speaker 3: hard to do.
- 39:12Speaker 5: It's a seventh That's why NFL players and the players
- 39:16Speaker 5: associated fought against seventeen games for so long.
- 39:19Speaker 6: It's a long it's a long season, right, it's very long.
- 39:22Speaker 5: You're hitting the biggest, the fastest, the baddest dudes in
- 39:24Speaker 5: the world every single week, like it's a long season.
- 39:27Speaker 5: So seventeen games is it's a lot to ask of
- 39:30Speaker 5: anybody like that. You're not going to have some sort
- 39:32Speaker 5: of concussion in a hamstring, just something right, So.
- 39:37Speaker 3: And That's why it's so good to have those younger
- 39:38Speaker 3: receivers too. And it's good to see Vele, you know,
- 39:42Speaker 3: be the guy you look. You made a trade with
- 39:44Speaker 3: an asset to get him. You didn't just get him
- 39:47Speaker 3: for free. So it's good to see him going out there.
- 39:51Speaker 3: It's just it looks completely.
- 39:53Speaker 8: Different to your point though, Like I don't want to
- 39:54Speaker 8: say it didn't matter because he's a great player, But
- 39:56Speaker 8: like last year, if you were lost to Lave, you'd
- 39:58Speaker 8: have been in deep trouble.
- 40:00Speaker 6: Tyson doesn't play.
- 40:01Speaker 8: You had a lot and Bryce Lance, you have barry
- 40:03Speaker 8: On Brown, you have Devon ve Like, you still got options.
- 40:06Speaker 8: You could lose a guy or two and still be okay.
- 40:09Speaker 6: That was not the case.
- 40:10Speaker 4: Trey Palmer had a nice catch side about Mason Tipton.
- 40:14Speaker 7: Nobody's talking about Mason.
- 40:16Speaker 4: I think Mason's hurt. Nobody's talking at Bob's not here.
- 40:20Speaker 7: Yeah, Chase Young dominating.
- 40:25Speaker 4: We had him. Oh was he a giant?
- 40:27Speaker 7: Is he good on the mic?
- 40:28Speaker 4: Though? He is?
- 40:29Speaker 3: Like so he was so I didn't have him in
- 40:33Speaker 3: his career, but Pat did when he was in Washington.
- 40:35Speaker 3: He goes man, that guy's matured and completely changed and Chase.
- 40:41Speaker 3: To his credit, he talked about, so Tyry Wilson's there
- 40:45Speaker 3: because I was Tyrie Wilson a couple of years ago.
- 40:49Speaker 3: He said, I was the high draft choice that you
- 40:52Speaker 3: know got traded, was on a one year deal.
- 40:54Speaker 4: Here. I had to go. I had to go prove myself.
- 40:56Speaker 3: He had mentioned that he goes and it was because
- 41:00Speaker 3: the things that I did, like patted his chest, he
- 41:03Speaker 3: wasn't sores me.
- 41:04Speaker 4: It's like it was like it was me, and so
- 41:06Speaker 4: I had to change some things in my life. He's like,
- 41:07Speaker 4: and I did.
- 41:08Speaker 3: He goes, and I think Tyree can sit here and
- 41:10Speaker 3: he sees a model of somebody that's kind of gone
- 41:12Speaker 3: through the same thing that he's going through right now.
- 41:14Speaker 4: He said.
- 41:14Speaker 3: He's a talented guy, he said, and you know he
- 41:17Speaker 3: can then he kind of hyped him up a little
- 41:19Speaker 3: bit of what he can be.
- 41:20Speaker 4: But now Chase was really good.
- 41:21Speaker 2: Yeah. I saw a really funny video the Saint social
- 41:25Speaker 2: media put out and the admin's asking all the players
- 41:27Speaker 2: like would you fight if somebody was bullying?
- 41:30Speaker 7: Would you fight them?
- 41:31Speaker 2: And they were like yeah, obviously like point them out,
- 41:34Speaker 2: and then she's like, what if it was Chase Young
- 41:36Speaker 2: and they're.
- 41:36Speaker 6: Like, ooh, yeah, I know.
- 41:39Speaker 7: I don't know about Chase Young.
- 41:40Speaker 3: Yeah, he looks he looks like a video game character,
- 41:44Speaker 3: like and you're in a fighting game and he's like
- 41:45Speaker 3: the final balls of me.
- 41:48Speaker 6: A little bit, not at all people, and you're just
- 41:54Speaker 6: that kind of guy, basically the same dude.
- 41:56Speaker 3: On that note, we'll step away because oil boy, I'd
- 42:00Speaker 3: be shocked when we come back here at Raisin Kings Studio.
- 42:05Speaker 1: Off the bench.
- 42:06Speaker 4: What seventeen to know?
- 42:07Speaker 1: You said?

- 44:01Speaker 4: After going to.
- 44:04Speaker 3: Almost fifteen teams, it's gonna be fifteen by the time
- 44:07Speaker 3: we finished up.
- 44:10Speaker 4: Patrick Mahomes looked really good.
- 44:12Speaker 6: Yeah that's what they say, And they said like fully healthy,
- 44:14Speaker 6: like ready to go.
- 44:15Speaker 4: It was crazy.
- 44:16Speaker 3: It was this man a robot towards a c L
- 44:19Speaker 3: and LCL in December when did so when he was
- 44:23Speaker 3: out there like like no big knee brace, moving around
- 44:27Speaker 3: like he always does.
- 44:28Speaker 6: They're talking about that with Daniel Jones too. When the
- 44:30Speaker 6: hell did he tar his achilles? It was late the year.
- 44:33Speaker 6: Ken They're saying he's gonna be ready for the right
- 44:36Speaker 6: the rest of them.
- 44:37Speaker 4: Yeah, it's crazy. He's gonna be really good.
- 44:44Speaker 6: So you're putting the hole league unnotice Well, I just.
- 44:47Speaker 3: Don't think you're gonna get the version of the Chiefs
- 44:49Speaker 3: you got last year. I still think they're behind what
- 44:51Speaker 3: I saw and with the Chargers, and I still think
- 44:54Speaker 3: the Broncos are gonna be really really good. But yeah,
- 44:58Speaker 3: home's back. Yeah, Taekwon Thornton, he's gonna be the number
- 45:02Speaker 3: one to see.
- 45:02Speaker 8: I think they went to him a little bit last year.
- 45:05Speaker 8: I remember he ever did some three yards per catch
- 45:07Speaker 8: last year. I mean he made some plays like he
- 45:09Speaker 8: never to of catches. But when they went to the news,
- 45:12Speaker 8: it was a big time.
- 45:13Speaker 3: Taekwon Thornton. You like, I'm not even gonna make fun
- 45:18Speaker 3: of you because shouldn't know who that is.
- 45:20Speaker 7: I've never heard the name.
- 45:23Speaker 4: Brother.
- 45:23Speaker 6: He's big too, isn't he He's like six two six three.
- 45:27Speaker 6: That's all I can.
- 45:29Speaker 3: Do it.
- 45:29Speaker 7: I know you want to do it.
- 45:33Speaker 6: Yeah, they got a bit six two.
- 45:34Speaker 4: Yeah, it's a big kid. Kennath Walker looked really good. Yeah,
- 45:39Speaker 4: chiefs are gonna be in the conversation. You know. I'm sorry,
- 45:41Speaker 4: sorry to break the news, y'all. Yeah, that's gonna be.
- 45:47Speaker 6: Patrick Mahomes Glad you're back, man.
- 45:57Speaker 7: He related, we're gonna tell you about all right, carball.
- 46:02Speaker 4: Of things. I don't even want to know what the
- 46:04Speaker 4: most off the rails thing that y'all got into was.
- 46:07Speaker 7: I don't actually know.
- 46:08Speaker 6: I actually, I mean we actually stay pretty sports me
- 46:12Speaker 6: because you know, I don't know.
- 46:17Speaker 4: The clips that I saw, like y'all were Jared Cyrus Allen.
- 46:21Speaker 4: I was at practice.
- 46:22Speaker 3: He didn't run the ones or she rice dropped like
- 46:25Speaker 3: three passes when I was there. Uh he did, So
- 46:29Speaker 3: I gotta stand by kind of what I said there.
- 46:30Speaker 3: He Taekwon is going to be a big, big part
- 46:32Speaker 3: of that offense.
- 46:33Speaker 4: All right. I remember two when we come back here
- 46:35Speaker 4: on O TV. Off the bench, you got this one?
- 46:43Speaker 4: What look at there?
- 46:45Speaker 6: Y'all?
- 46:45Speaker 4: Added somebody when I was gone.
- 46:48Speaker 6: About our guys. Yeah, when we're talking about Louiana Power.
- 46:54Speaker 5: We're talking about Louisiana energy, but Catteris is developing the
