- 0:45Speaker 3: The plays get broken down and science gets denied.
- 0:48Speaker 1: I gotta come off the bitch.
- 0:49Speaker 3: Hour two of Off the Bench Live from the Raising
- 0:52Speaker 3: Kanes Studio.
- 1:28Speaker 4: All right, welcome back again, Hour number two OTV here
- 1:32Speaker 4: live from the Raising Caines Studio. Again, it was LSU
- 1:35Speaker 4: twenty three Arkansas twenty two. LSU gets to six and
- 1:40Speaker 4: four on the season, three and four in sec play
- 1:43Speaker 4: with a chance to have a five hundred record. If
- 1:45Speaker 4: you're able to go on the road and pull off
- 1:47Speaker 4: an upset against Oklahoma. We'll get there. Whenever that happens.
- 1:51Speaker 4: But now we'll go back to some of the Arkansas
- 1:54Speaker 4: film and Matthews.
- 1:56Speaker 5: Ready to go. I think, yeah, absolutely, we're ready to go.
- 1:59Speaker 5: So we we love breaking down some film around here.
- 2:02Speaker 5: So if you are, you know, if you got a
- 2:03Speaker 5: chance to pull up the old YouTube and watch along.
- 2:06Speaker 1: If you're doing your car, just pull over, pull off
- 2:08Speaker 1: to the side, shut up. Yeah.
- 2:10Speaker 5: If you're at work, tell your bass watch it tape bruh.
- 2:12Speaker 5: Make sure it's street legal whatever you're doing out there.
- 2:15Speaker 4: Don't have a DVD player like Flint had where you
- 2:17Speaker 4: could flip a switch.
- 2:18Speaker 1: And watch it.
- 2:19Speaker 5: Yeah, it can wait. It can wait. You can always
- 2:22Speaker 5: catch this later as well. The text can wait. The
- 2:26Speaker 5: text can wait. So let's go to the film here,
- 2:28Speaker 5: and if you're if you're just listening to radio, we're
- 2:29Speaker 5: gonna we're gonna kind of break it down and Jake's
- 2:31Speaker 5: gonna kind of help us kind of talk through this.
- 2:34Speaker 5: So here's a really nice play. This is a second
- 2:36Speaker 5: quarter eleven thirty nine left.
- 2:39Speaker 1: What we do here.
- 2:40Speaker 5: You could tell that the LSU offensive staff was expecting
- 2:43Speaker 5: a lot of cover two uh, because this is a
- 2:45Speaker 5: straight cover two beater route concept that we're running right here.
- 2:48Speaker 5: So we got a little I must call it a
- 2:50Speaker 5: little wide bunch situation out here. So we got three
- 2:54Speaker 5: receivers to the right in a bunch formation with the
- 2:57Speaker 5: middle guys holding the point. And then we have a
- 2:59Speaker 5: on the X down here we got a nasty split.
- 3:01Speaker 5: What a nasty split means, It's just the wide receiver
- 3:04Speaker 5: is in tight close to the line of scrimmage. What
- 3:06Speaker 5: they're trying to do here is actually get the nasty
- 3:08Speaker 5: split the receiver to chip on the way out, which
- 3:11Speaker 5: again I don't love, but a couple of really nice
- 3:14Speaker 5: things to watch here on display execution from Van Buren
- 3:19Speaker 5: on a believe it's a third down here. So what
- 3:23Speaker 5: we got here is a cover two beater. So what's
- 3:25Speaker 5: gonna happen here is you got two safeties. They're split safeties.
- 3:29Speaker 5: They're gonna get the halves of the field. So Aaron
- 3:31Speaker 5: Anderson is gonna run a basically a snag route. I'm
- 3:35Speaker 5: gonna call a snack route, and then the tight end
- 3:37Speaker 5: air trade isn't gonna come and run an OTB route
- 3:40Speaker 5: or over the ball. So what they're gonna do and
- 3:42Speaker 5: OTB route's gonna hold the miclif bench.
- 3:45Speaker 1: Although if you want to call it off the bench.
- 3:47Speaker 5: He's gonna run the off the bench ro out to
- 3:49Speaker 5: hold the miclimbbacker, and then the snag route's gonna hold
- 3:52Speaker 5: the Sam linebacker, and then when the safety gets wide
- 3:56Speaker 5: over the top, what we're gonna have is basically it's
- 3:59Speaker 5: like a a glance post or a little rolled in
- 4:02Speaker 5: like a It's kind of a lazy end route, if
- 4:05Speaker 5: you will.
- 4:05Speaker 1: That's why.
- 4:07Speaker 5: So what we're doing here in cover two, we're holding
- 4:09Speaker 5: the mic linebacker, we're holding the wheel linebacker and hitting
- 4:11Speaker 5: a little lazy post glance post ride over the top
- 4:15Speaker 5: of that, and it works a perfection great call. There's
- 4:18Speaker 5: not a lot of beaters for other like if they
- 4:20Speaker 5: ran quarters right here, I don't know where you're going
- 4:22Speaker 5: with the ball, but they got this a perfect Cover
- 4:24Speaker 5: two beater. I've actually never seen this concept, but look.
- 4:29Speaker 1: Works out to perfection. I don't love this chip down here,
- 4:36Speaker 1: but you know it is what it is.
- 4:38Speaker 4: You can tell that they're they're they're they're really they're
- 4:41Speaker 4: so worried about protection. And when you when you have
- 4:44Speaker 4: a receiver at the bottom of the formation thinking about
- 4:48Speaker 4: chipping an edge rusher, that lets you know just what
- 4:52Speaker 4: they think they can't.
- 4:53Speaker 1: Do and protection.
- 4:55Speaker 5: And I want to show you the second awesome part
- 4:57Speaker 5: on this play that I saw what has l Is shues,
- 5:00Speaker 5: guards and tackles struggled with all season long. Was playing
- 5:05Speaker 5: was blocking up the games, the ets where the where
- 5:09Speaker 5: the defensive lineman crosses, where the defensive tackle goes and
- 5:12Speaker 5: hits the hits. Our left tackle and the defensive end
- 5:15Speaker 5: loops underneath. But I want you to watch our left
- 5:18Speaker 5: guard and our right and our left tackle right here.
- 5:23Speaker 5: Boom passed it off. We've been wanting to see this
- 5:26Speaker 5: all season long, and wait, haven't How many times have
- 5:29Speaker 5: we seen this defensive end loop underneath and the guard
- 5:32Speaker 5: not get back to them and create issues?
- 5:35Speaker 1: Perfect blocked up? Amazing, that's awesome job.
- 5:38Speaker 5: They've been working on it and been working on it,
- 5:40Speaker 5: and it's perfectly executed here on a big play when
- 5:42Speaker 5: you're down.
- 5:44Speaker 1: Good execution. I like to see his foot work a
- 5:45Speaker 1: little bit better.
- 5:46Speaker 5: He's still like he's shuffle shuffle, his feet aren't matching up.
- 5:49Speaker 4: I don't think you're gonna like college quarterbacks footwork no
- 5:53Speaker 4: matter what tape you want.
- 5:54Speaker 1: It's just it's not anything that we ever learned. All right,
- 5:57Speaker 1: we got to get back to react.
- 5:58Speaker 4: By the way, that's that's a portion of the field
- 5:59Speaker 4: that LSU had like crime scene tape over for a
- 6:03Speaker 4: large portion of the year, almost like they thought they
- 6:06Speaker 4: would get arrested if they completed a pass in that
- 6:09Speaker 4: portion of the field. So it's so good to see
- 6:11Speaker 4: them attack that portion. And you could tell Arkansas was like, oh,
- 6:14Speaker 4: they're not gonna throw it there. Yeah, like they're not
- 6:17Speaker 4: gonna tack them, They're not gonna ta no, so we
- 6:18Speaker 4: can just like actually cover from the hash to out
- 6:22Speaker 4: of bounds, which in college.
- 6:23Speaker 1: Is not that much.
- 6:24Speaker 5: It's not that much room anyways. So they and it
- 6:27Speaker 5: was perfectly executed. So let's go down another play. Now,
- 6:30Speaker 5: this is this is gonna you're gonna think I'm like
- 6:32Speaker 5: highlighting the left tackle here because he does get beat
- 6:34Speaker 5: give up a bad sack. But I just want to
- 6:36Speaker 5: watch a couple of things again. We're in a nasty
- 6:38Speaker 5: split down here, and he's not chipping this defensive end.
- 6:41Speaker 1: He's just gonna bluff them like he is.
- 6:43Speaker 5: Uh, but I want you to watch so in trying
- 6:46Speaker 5: to protect the quarterback with this nasty split from a
- 6:50Speaker 5: wide receiver. Okay, we just showed it on the last
- 6:52Speaker 5: play where he's chipping the the a edge rusher, whether
- 6:55Speaker 5: it's a defensive end or a backer on the ball
- 6:57Speaker 5: right here. This is basically it might be a backround
- 7:00Speaker 5: the ball right here, but he's bluffing him. But he's
- 7:03Speaker 5: there to help protection out. But what he does is
- 7:08Speaker 5: ends up messing up the entire route concept because we're
- 7:11Speaker 5: gonna have a deep post right here. We are going
- 7:13Speaker 5: to have we're gonna call it like an indie. We
- 7:15Speaker 5: call it pin indy. And every everyone runs this rail
- 7:19Speaker 5: where he comes over the middle and then he bursts
- 7:21Speaker 5: backed outside almost to like the corner area. Then the
- 7:23Speaker 5: backside guy is going to run a deep end cut
- 7:26Speaker 5: and so the read goes it's a top down read. Uh,
- 7:29Speaker 5: so you read the read the deep post, then to
- 7:32Speaker 5: the indie, which is Aaron Anderson back to the backside
- 7:35Speaker 5: dig route. So what happens in trying to protect the
- 7:38Speaker 5: quarterback you get two guys right next to each other
- 7:42Speaker 5: because there there's not Now Aaron Anderson gets pushed inside
- 7:45Speaker 5: a little bit too much.
- 7:46Speaker 1: But it's okay.
- 7:48Speaker 5: Now this ball if the left tackle should go to
- 7:51Speaker 5: the post. Now Van Buren's footwork is not good enough.
- 7:54Speaker 5: He's not His footwork's too fast here that he wouldn't
- 7:57Speaker 5: ever see the post or get to it. Left tackle
- 8:02Speaker 5: of course misses him. But this should be this should
- 8:05Speaker 5: be a dig route.
- 8:06Speaker 1: Throw right here.
- 8:06Speaker 5: They just get too close and trying to protect the quarterback.
- 8:09Speaker 5: They kind of screw up the route combination because you
- 8:12Speaker 5: never want two guys next to each other.
- 8:14Speaker 1: Right.
- 8:14Speaker 5: Of course, you got to make the block and everything,
- 8:16Speaker 5: but a couple of things improve. I don't love the
- 8:19Speaker 5: nasty split by the receiver. I don't love Van Buren's footwork.
- 8:23Speaker 1: Of course. I don't like the block by the left tackle.
- 8:25Speaker 1: He whiffed. I got it.
- 8:26Speaker 5: That's not really the point of highlighting this play he did,
- 8:31Speaker 5: I mean didn't get a hand on him.
- 8:34Speaker 1: Yep. Anyho come back to reality a little bit, yep.
- 8:38Speaker 5: But anyway, all these plays I'm showing, every single pass
- 8:41Speaker 5: play almost there's some sort of extra protection for the quarterback,
- 8:48Speaker 5: which is warranted a lot, but then at some points
- 8:50Speaker 5: it kind of screws everything else up a little bit.
- 8:53Speaker 5: So just a little education for you, a little bit
- 8:56Speaker 5: of the why why things happen.
- 8:59Speaker 4: Yes, some of the some of the route combinations, stuff
- 9:03Speaker 4: like from from like day one of whoever the new
- 9:07Speaker 4: offensive coordinator is yep, Like that's gonna get I would
- 9:12Speaker 4: assume that's gonna get cleaned up, because you gotta you
- 9:14Speaker 4: gotta unravel some stuff the foundational principles, Like I've there's
- 9:18Speaker 4: route concepts we've run that I've never really seen.
- 9:21Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying.
- 9:22Speaker 4: It's And so it's hard for me to go all
- 9:25Speaker 4: in on the paint on the quarterbacks and receivers right
- 9:28Speaker 4: now because when I turn on the tape, I'm like,
- 9:32Speaker 4: I don't know what they're trying to get done.
- 9:34Speaker 1: And that's me saying that.
- 9:36Speaker 4: And I understand route concepts pretty well and what and
- 9:38Speaker 4: what are coverage beaters? The man sitting to my left
- 9:41Speaker 4: knows him better than anybody I've ever been around. And
- 9:43Speaker 4: if if I don't notice them, okay, that's a problem.
- 9:46Speaker 4: If he doesn't notice them, that's.
- 9:47Speaker 1: A real issue.
- 9:49Speaker 4: And so it's hard for me to really, like I said,
- 9:52Speaker 4: just go all in because I'm like that there there
- 9:56Speaker 4: has to be a rhyme and a reason for a
- 9:57Speaker 4: route combination, like and it's got to have different layers
- 10:00Speaker 4: to it, and it's got to be on different levels,
- 10:02Speaker 4: like even our flag football teams that we coach.
- 10:04Speaker 1: I'll get everybody to run their route and.
- 10:06Speaker 4: I'm like stop and I'll show, Okay, we got discovered
- 10:10Speaker 4: that cover, discovered that car, we got all quadrants like
- 10:12Speaker 4: are covered.
- 10:13Speaker 1: There's somebody in each window.
- 10:14Speaker 4: Because you try to say, hey, whatever coverage you run,
- 10:18Speaker 4: one of these routes is going to be a situation
- 10:21Speaker 4: where I feel like we can win. I don't see that.
- 10:24Speaker 4: I see guys in the same area. I see inside
- 10:26Speaker 4: releases on routes. You're never supposed to have an inside release,
- 10:29Speaker 4: and so that jumbles things up as well.
- 10:32Speaker 1: I see the som So.
- 10:37Speaker 5: I've already highlighted that our wide receiver room is one
- 10:41Speaker 5: of the bright spots of this team because of a
- 10:43Speaker 5: lot of the gritty work that they've they're doing in
- 10:45Speaker 5: the trenches and in the blocking scheme and the effort
- 10:47Speaker 5: that they're showing. It has been fantastic to see that
- 10:50Speaker 5: progression throughout the year, when in a year where the
- 10:53Speaker 5: receivers aren't getting the stats they want, the touches they want,
- 10:56Speaker 5: the tds they want, they're not getting all that stuff,
- 10:58Speaker 5: but they're still playing hard and doing the things that
- 11:00Speaker 5: they're being asked to do to try to win the game.
- 11:02Speaker 5: In the running game and blocking out with screens and
- 11:05Speaker 5: things like that, and you don't see anybody. You don't
- 11:07Speaker 5: see any bad body language in this receiver room, which
- 11:10Speaker 5: is awesome to see because of all the receiver of
- 11:13Speaker 5: all the position groups, usually it's the wide receivers that get.
- 11:18Speaker 1: The bad body language and want the ball. Oh yeah,
- 11:20Speaker 1: they look like eleven j.
- 11:21Speaker 4: Cutler's out there sometimes when things aren't going the way
- 11:23Speaker 4: that position.
- 11:25Speaker 5: And that's the kind of like the alpha mentality you
- 11:27Speaker 5: want in a wide receiver.
- 11:28Speaker 1: Same with the dB.
- 11:31Speaker 5: But to Jake's point, when they're running routes and they're
- 11:35Speaker 5: running route concepts, sometimes there doesn't seem to be I
- 11:38Speaker 5: can't decipher what are route concepts trying to get accomplished.
- 11:43Speaker 5: And then sometimes they're running routes that it's just like
- 11:46Speaker 5: Cardinal sen mistakes that they're making. Like you said, inside
- 11:49Speaker 5: release on a corner route. Yeah, inside release from the
- 11:52Speaker 5: outside when you're supposed to run a fade route and
- 11:54Speaker 5: it's cover two, they're inside releasing and bringing the cloud
- 11:57Speaker 5: defender into the slot.
- 11:58Speaker 1: Guy, Like I've seen these things.
- 12:00Speaker 5: I just showed you an in route at the commercial
- 12:02Speaker 5: bike like a deep en route where the guy's running
- 12:06Speaker 5: like he's running it on paper, but he's not pressing.
- 12:09Speaker 5: He's not closing the distance between him and the dB.
- 12:12Speaker 5: To make that guy may have to panic and make
- 12:14Speaker 5: him make a decision. So he's getting he's just sitting
- 12:16Speaker 5: on it and covering up. Like there's little things that
- 12:19Speaker 5: could help this wide receiver crew improve so much from
- 12:22Speaker 5: just getting open because a lot of times we're running
- 12:24Speaker 5: these concepts and I'm like, I don't understand the point
- 12:26Speaker 5: of the concept, and I don't know where I would
- 12:30Speaker 5: go with the ball. If I was a quarterback, usually
- 12:33Speaker 5: the answer is I'll hit a check down. But our
- 12:35Speaker 5: checkdowns are chipping right now, and they're late getting out
- 12:38Speaker 5: into their zones. And sometimes they're so late getting out
- 12:41Speaker 5: in their zones they're stacking over the top of a
- 12:44Speaker 5: receiver that's an outlet, and you're let they're letting one defender.
- 12:47Speaker 1: Cover two people.
- 12:49Speaker 5: Now, I say that like the coaching staff that is
- 12:53Speaker 5: there right this second. They are working with a foundational Yeah,
- 12:57Speaker 5: for sure, an offense that foundational is flawed. Yes, So
- 13:02Speaker 5: there's only so much you can do. So and what's
- 13:05Speaker 5: one thing you're gonna do when we just saw Kurn
- 13:07Speaker 5: get whiffed, right, Yep, you got to protect them and
- 13:10Speaker 5: they're trying to protect them, and I applaud that and
- 13:12Speaker 5: I and I agree with all that, but I just
- 13:14Speaker 5: you have to there's a balance there that sometimes when
- 13:17Speaker 5: you feel like you're protecting the quarterback, you're actually not
- 13:20Speaker 5: protecting the quarterback because you're not giving him any options.
- 13:23Speaker 4: It's going back to the old seven man protection when
- 13:26Speaker 4: you're struggling. Actually, seven man protection invites more problems than
- 13:31Speaker 4: it does solution.
- 13:32Speaker 5: So what they're doing is not what they're what they're
- 13:34Speaker 5: being asked to do right now, That from a coaching standpoint,
- 13:36Speaker 5: is not easy, not at all. Create this game planning great,
- 13:39Speaker 5: let's protect them, but not protective.
- 13:41Speaker 4: But because you got to use the foundations that were
- 13:42Speaker 4: putting the place by you know, Joe Sloan and that
- 13:47Speaker 4: you know he was the OC right, So when you
- 13:49Speaker 4: take over an interim basis, like you can't just install
- 13:51Speaker 4: your own terminology, your own verbiage and things you haven't
- 13:53Speaker 4: done just in a bye week.
- 13:55Speaker 1: You got to try to make the best of it.
- 13:57Speaker 4: And you know there's plays in the game that we
- 13:58Speaker 4: could point to that you're trying to you that, Like
- 14:00Speaker 4: you had the one drive where it's like who's going
- 14:02Speaker 4: to throw the pass? Those things were cool. It's like, hey,
- 14:05Speaker 4: Juwan Johnson was an All state quarterback. He's thrown for
- 14:09Speaker 4: more yards I think than anybody Taylor's That is that correct.
- 14:12Speaker 4: Didn't you break all the angel records?
- 14:14Speaker 1: Right? So hey, if he's gonna play running back, how
- 14:16Speaker 1: well about you let him throw a pass or two.
- 14:19Speaker 1: That'd be a nice change of pace.
- 14:20Speaker 4: Well he did, right, And so like those are things
- 14:22Speaker 4: that you can install moving forward. But as far as
- 14:25Speaker 4: the foundation pieces, it is what it is. For the
- 14:28Speaker 4: most part. You just got to try to make the
- 14:30Speaker 4: best of it.
- 14:30Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, you do.
- 14:31Speaker 5: And I like, like I just said, it's what they're
- 14:34Speaker 5: being asked to do right now, is not It's certainly
- 14:36Speaker 5: not easy because if if there weren't protection issues, one
- 14:40Speaker 5: on one pass protection issues all season, then of course
- 14:43Speaker 5: you don't get those chips and those stumps that were
- 14:45Speaker 5: talking about. Now, it's a good change up to have.
- 14:48Speaker 5: I just don't think you can be relying on it.
- 14:49Speaker 5: And I watched this film from this past weekend. It's
- 14:53Speaker 5: like every play, every play, And again I'm not saying
- 14:57Speaker 5: I would have done anything different, I would, you know,
- 15:01Speaker 5: It's it's it's tough going into the game because I'm
- 15:04Speaker 5: sure in practice, like you get the thump and the
- 15:06Speaker 5: guy gets out into the right spot, you know what
- 15:07Speaker 5: I mean, and the timing doesn't look too bad. But yeah, anyway, overall, typically.
- 15:16Speaker 4: For what you're saying though, like if you do what
- 15:18Speaker 4: they're doing as far as making sure you're helping, it's
- 15:21Speaker 4: because you're going against a von Miller and you're like,
- 15:25Speaker 4: von Miller is not going to beat us this week.
- 15:27Speaker 4: We're gonna make sure wherever von Miller is, then we
- 15:30Speaker 4: have presence, like we either chip or we give body
- 15:32Speaker 4: presents and then we get like typically you'll do that
- 15:35Speaker 4: for like an elite edge rusher, we gotta affect him.
- 15:39Speaker 4: He can't be like Arkansas doesn't really have that. Like again,
- 15:43Speaker 4: they were playing their mic backer on the edge because
- 15:45Speaker 4: they felt like they had an advantage and he's the
- 15:47Speaker 4: one that got the sack there, so I understand it.
- 15:50Speaker 4: But typically, like you only have that point of emphasis
- 15:53Speaker 4: as much as they did when you have an elite.
- 15:55Speaker 5: Rusher And what did what were you taught when you
- 15:57Speaker 5: were a chipper? I know what we taught was basically,
- 16:01Speaker 5: if you see color, you chip yes. Now if the
- 16:04Speaker 5: defensive end or linebacker on the rest, if he rushes
- 16:07Speaker 5: head up or inside you, you get out on your route.
- 16:11Speaker 5: If basically was like if you if there's meat there,
- 16:13Speaker 5: hit it. You know what I mean.
- 16:15Speaker 4: And every every tackle, every tackle liked it a little
- 16:17Speaker 4: bit different, So you had to make sure you had
- 16:19Speaker 4: that conversation. Marcus McNeil, who a lot of y'all remember
- 16:23Speaker 4: he played at Auburn, was an incredible player. He's like, dude,
- 16:27Speaker 4: give presence, but don't touch my guy. Give presence, but
- 16:30Speaker 4: do not touch him. Don't knock me off my block.
- 16:33Speaker 4: I had Jeremy Cleary, who was our right tackle.
- 16:35Speaker 1: He played a k State.
- 16:36Speaker 4: He was like, oh my god, please help all right,
- 16:39Speaker 4: anytime you can hit him, please do it, Like he
- 16:41Speaker 4: wanted a hand on him.
- 16:42Speaker 1: So you had to.
- 16:42Speaker 4: Remember like your tackles and what their preference was, because
- 16:45Speaker 4: like they had their way of doing things, and so
- 16:48Speaker 4: they wanted to make sure that you were on the
- 16:49Speaker 4: same page.
- 16:50Speaker 5: And a lot of times it's like I don't want
- 16:52Speaker 5: you to push him in unless it's.
- 16:54Speaker 1: At the at the line of scrimmage.
- 16:55Speaker 5: Like a lot of times they didn't want to run
- 16:57Speaker 5: him back from like if they'd already set and aid
- 17:00Speaker 5: contact with the defensive end Russian, they didn't want to
- 17:02Speaker 5: running back coming in and pushing them in. Yeah, because
- 17:04Speaker 5: they'd already said there. Yeah, they'd want to hit them
- 17:06Speaker 5: go straight forward. So basically it was like if you
- 17:08Speaker 5: see a rib, break it, if you see if you
- 17:10Speaker 5: see an armpit, take it.
- 17:12Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 17:12Speaker 5: That was basically like the coaching strategy. But if you didn't,
- 17:18Speaker 5: you're out on your route concert. You're not trying to
- 17:20Speaker 5: look for work. If it's there, take it.
- 17:23Speaker 4: And if you want to see the goats at running
- 17:26Speaker 4: back chips, go watch Joseph Dai film and that will
- 17:29Speaker 4: give you everything that you need to know. All right,
- 17:31Speaker 4: we got to take a break. We'll do it now

- 20:12Speaker 4: Sugar Bowl does like everything the right way, So that
- 20:15Speaker 4: is a cool deal. Louisingsports dot Net and the station
- 20:18Speaker 4: are doing again. Go check that out, Losing Sports dot
- 20:21Speaker 4: Net backslash contest.
- 20:26Speaker 1: Hell yeah, all right.
- 20:28Speaker 4: One of things we haven't really talked about in you know,
- 20:31Speaker 4: sometimes us as offensive players, maybe we start to watch
- 20:35Speaker 4: the offense first before we get to the defense. But
- 20:38Speaker 4: the job that this defense did for LSU against Arkansas
- 20:42Speaker 4: after the first drive, and look the first drive a
- 20:44Speaker 4: lot of times it's like a prize fight, right, you're
- 20:47Speaker 4: just kind of taking their job a little bit. You're
- 20:48Speaker 4: trying to figure out, Okay, how hard does this got punch? Okay,
- 20:51Speaker 4: all right, cool, I gotta figure it out. Now, let
- 20:53Speaker 4: me make my adjustments. And again, Arkansas bad football team.
- 20:57Speaker 4: Arkansas offense really good, one of the best statistically in
- 21:02Speaker 4: the country, certainly one of the best in the Southeastern Conference.
- 21:05Speaker 4: And Blake Baker in this defense, they hold Arkansas to
- 21:08Speaker 4: fifteen points because obviously the block punt touchdown was the
- 21:12Speaker 4: other seven.
- 21:12Speaker 5: So Patrino's really good coach, right, really good offensive coach.
- 21:15Speaker 5: He put on a master class of the first fifteen,
- 21:18Speaker 5: an absolutely master class. Like it was dynamic, it was
- 21:25Speaker 5: it had purpose to it. It was look over here,
- 21:27Speaker 5: I go over here, let's power it here like they
- 21:30Speaker 5: it was an absolute master class of first fifteen. But
- 21:33Speaker 5: once they got past that first fifteen, of course, we
- 21:35Speaker 5: you know, LSU kind of lucked out on a fumble
- 21:37Speaker 5: too when they pitched it. We got a fumbled in
- 21:40Speaker 5: that first fifteen, so it kind of got them out
- 21:42Speaker 5: of rhythm right there. But man, I was I was
- 21:44Speaker 5: watching that game. I think I texted y'all too. I
- 21:46Speaker 5: was like, oh my god, this first fifteen script for
- 21:48Speaker 5: Petrino was incredible. Yeah, so that was one of the reasons.
- 21:51Speaker 5: But once they got kind of past that scripted portion
- 21:54Speaker 5: of the game, like Baker in the crew, they kind
- 21:56Speaker 5: of settled into it.
- 21:58Speaker 1: Absolutely performance of the year certainly.
- 22:02Speaker 4: I thought it was multiple guys that did a lot
- 22:04Speaker 4: of things, and Harrold Perkins Junior was, you know, we
- 22:06Speaker 4: kind of joked about it, like Arkansas hates to see
- 22:08Speaker 4: that guy coming. They should because I mean, he has
- 22:11Speaker 4: played well against him really his entire career. I mean
- 22:13Speaker 4: even going back to when he was a young player.
- 22:15Speaker 4: He kind of won the game by himself. They heard
- 22:17Speaker 4: four sacks and they heard him as Yeah, somebody along
- 22:21Speaker 4: the way certainly did. And so for Lshu's defense to
- 22:24Speaker 4: hold that offense to fifteen points, that is an incredible
- 22:27Speaker 4: date at the office.
- 22:28Speaker 1: And it's not like you went out there and.
- 22:33Speaker 4: You know, did anything that you haven't really done all
- 22:36Speaker 4: season long, Like you didn't have these crazy exotic looks,
- 22:38Speaker 4: like you ran your defense, and so it was their
- 22:41Speaker 4: best against your best and you just had the better day,
- 22:45Speaker 4: Like you made the plays. Harold Perkins had a great
- 22:48Speaker 4: interception right there was the fumble, and that's a self
- 22:50Speaker 4: inflicted mom but you get that, you take that, you
- 22:53Speaker 4: take advantage, and you you know, have them inside the
- 22:57Speaker 4: ten yard line multiple times where they don't come away
- 22:59Speaker 4: with point points. And to go after one on one
- 23:02Speaker 4: against montsour Delaine, that's a choice, certainly a choice. That's
- 23:06Speaker 4: like they tried. They just watched that film too. Yeah,
- 23:09Speaker 4: they lined it up to go against him. It was
- 23:11Speaker 4: almost like they were just going to go left. Regardless,
- 23:14Speaker 4: I'm probably not gonna go against the guy that's gonna
- 23:16Speaker 4: be in the conversation and win the thorpe. I'm probably
- 23:18Speaker 4: not going to try to single coverage him and make
- 23:21Speaker 4: a play a back shoulder fade against that guy because
- 23:23Speaker 4: he saw a company. He's like, uh, yeah, I'll take this,
- 23:26Speaker 4: thank you, yep, like you're really testing me.
- 23:29Speaker 5: It was a great play because they singled him up
- 23:31Speaker 5: and and Monsour played outside shoulder yep, and so it
- 23:35Speaker 5: made him on this It made him try to inside
- 23:37Speaker 5: release a fade route because he didn't want to press
- 23:39Speaker 5: a dB that was outside shoulder on him. And he
- 23:43Speaker 5: had the confidence enough to whear if he was running
- 23:45Speaker 5: inside inside running route that he could still trail him
- 23:50Speaker 5: and make the play like yeah, he expected the fade
- 23:53Speaker 5: come and made the guy go inside with you. You
- 23:55Speaker 5: never want to go inside on a on a fade
- 23:57Speaker 5: route in the red zone and he kind of gave
- 23:59Speaker 5: up on the bar. A great play, I mean, yeah,
- 24:01Speaker 5: it's a it's certainly a choice to attack.
- 24:03Speaker 1: Him one on one.
- 24:05Speaker 5: But the classic like Petrino old school coach, like we're
- 24:08Speaker 5: gonna run, We're gonna run our offense. Who they got
- 24:10Speaker 5: out there. We're gonna run our offense. We're gonna set
- 24:12Speaker 5: it up all right. Yeah, we're to the boundary. Absolutely,
- 24:14Speaker 5: this is what we do. We're on the if we
- 24:16Speaker 5: were on the right, hash we do it to the
- 24:17Speaker 5: other side, run the left ash classic interception. Oh how
- 24:22Speaker 5: about Like I thought one of the play of the
- 24:23Speaker 5: games was the quarterback sneak stop. Oh yeah, well, who
- 24:27Speaker 5: was it? I thought Gillery kind of he headlocked him.
- 24:31Speaker 5: It was like the way, let's that's how you stop
- 24:33Speaker 5: a push push, Yeah, that's how you stop a quarterback snake.
- 24:36Speaker 5: Just come over the top, yeah and hit and put
- 24:39Speaker 5: him in a headlock. Yeah, that was fantastic. I thought
- 24:41Speaker 5: that was one of the plays of the game.
- 24:43Speaker 1: Yeah yeah.
- 24:44Speaker 5: And you never see a defensive tackle from a tackle
- 24:47Speaker 5: position going. You see the linebackers sometimes come over the top,
- 24:50Speaker 5: sot to scrape over the top and do that, but
- 24:52Speaker 5: for a big boy to do it.
- 24:53Speaker 1: Cob and Gillileries certainly had his best year to date
- 24:56Speaker 1: in an LSU uniform. I thought he played fantastic.
- 24:59Speaker 4: The job that Kyle Williams has done with what he's
- 25:01Speaker 4: been given in the interior of the defensive line. Remember
- 25:04Speaker 4: he's not the entire D line. He's just the interior,
- 25:06Speaker 4: so he's the defensive tackles. And really, you know, I
- 25:10Speaker 4: would say with what Blake wants to get done to
- 25:14Speaker 4: what Bo Didley was recruiting, that typically don't match up,
- 25:19Speaker 4: like Bo Davis wanted bigger space eaters, and I think
- 25:21Speaker 4: you need something a little bit different, and so you
- 25:23Speaker 4: go get a good and out of the transfer portal
- 25:25Speaker 4: who's played well, but Jacovin Gillery's by far played his
- 25:29Speaker 4: best football in an Elisi uniform this year. I think
- 25:31Speaker 4: Kyle's doing a hell of a job with that unit.
- 25:33Speaker 4: And you know, my hope is that Kyle's right back
- 25:36Speaker 4: here next year. Regardless of who the coach is. You've
- 25:39Speaker 4: got some dogs coming in this recruiting class at that
- 25:42Speaker 4: position that are way more the body type that they're
- 25:44Speaker 4: looking for.
- 25:45Speaker 1: And I don't know who the coach are going to be.
- 25:49Speaker 1: None of us know.
- 25:50Speaker 4: But when you look at this defensive staff, the improvement
- 25:53Speaker 4: that they've made, and you just saw like a game
- 25:55Speaker 4: plan against a running quarterback that looks like it was
- 25:59Speaker 4: a little bit different, and you kind of wonder, okay, well,
- 26:02Speaker 4: you know, what were some of the limitations there Prior
- 26:05Speaker 4: to that, and so.
- 26:07Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know who the coach is going to be.
- 26:08Speaker 5: There would certainly be an indictment if they didn't look
- 26:10Speaker 5: strong and hard at keeping a good handful of the
- 26:13Speaker 5: defensive coaching staff together. And I think it would start
- 26:16Speaker 5: with Kyle Williams, Court Raymond, Blake Baker. I don't want
- 26:21Speaker 5: to not single out everybody else, but those are the
- 26:23Speaker 5: ones that come to the top of my head. Certainly,
- 26:24Speaker 5: Jay Golsen's done a great job with the safeties.
- 26:27Speaker 4: We talked about Tomarcus Cooley, we talked about Aj Hawsey, right,
- 26:30Speaker 4: Jake Golsen's a safety coach, big right. So I think
- 26:34Speaker 4: the defensive staff had a great game plan against a
- 26:36Speaker 4: really good, talented offense and like Matt said, a great
- 26:40Speaker 4: play caller as well.
- 26:41Speaker 1: By Petrino's a lot of things, some good on a
- 26:45Speaker 1: great motorcycle, some bad. Right.
- 26:47Speaker 4: One thing he can do is call an offensive ball
- 26:49Speaker 4: game and room fifteen points. A guy that had been
- 26:54Speaker 4: running around on everybody didn't run around on LSU out there.
- 26:57Speaker 4: You know, he had one draw play I thought was
- 26:59Speaker 4: a really great performance and a good game plan. We
- 27:01Speaker 4: even saw the return of the old Maryland I Blitz
- 27:05Speaker 4: that they did a year ago. Hadn't seen that and
- 27:07Speaker 4: they did it, and so yeah, it's a little bit
- 27:10Speaker 4: of everything in this one.
- 27:11Speaker 1: Yep.
- 27:12Speaker 5: So what did we say, three turnovers, go on stand,
- 27:16Speaker 5: miss field goal, missfield goal, and win by one.
- 27:20Speaker 1: Let's go.
- 27:20Speaker 4: But you get a dumb Tiger, get a dumb and
- 27:22Speaker 4: by the way, last thing on the defense before we
- 27:24Speaker 4: take a break. You've done this without your best overall
- 27:28Speaker 4: player in what weeks in the middle of your defense,
- 27:30Speaker 4: and you've.
- 27:32Speaker 1: Had some guys fill in.
- 27:33Speaker 4: You've had some guys fill in the athletic ability of
- 27:37Speaker 4: what you had to what you have now not on
- 27:40Speaker 4: the same page obviously, and so they've had to try
- 27:42Speaker 4: to play without their best player in the middle of
- 27:44Speaker 4: the defense and it's been a bright spot for a
- 27:47Speaker 4: year that has not been great.
- 27:48Speaker 5: Well, let's also give some credit where credit is due
- 27:50Speaker 5: here overall best player on defense. I don't know if
- 27:52Speaker 5: Witt is the best player on defense any like at
- 27:55Speaker 5: this point with way Monster and aj are playing, that's true, Yeah,
- 27:58Speaker 5: the heart and soul of the defense. But Monsour, I mean,
- 28:01Speaker 5: he's my god. He's played himself into a high high
- 28:04Speaker 5: high first round.
- 28:05Speaker 1: He was a third team All ACC guys, So a
- 28:07Speaker 1: good player, are you serious? Is third team ACC? Right?
- 28:14Speaker 4: So like he was a he was a good player,
- 28:16Speaker 4: But what Corey Raymond and this staff have unlocked in him,
- 28:19Speaker 4: like the full like what I mean, just a great
- 28:22Speaker 4: example they can use now in the transfer portal.
- 28:24Speaker 1: Hey, you were third team all ACC. You came here.
- 28:27Speaker 1: Now you're going to be a top twenty draft choice.
- 28:30Speaker 4: Right, even an older player, you can sell development with
- 28:34Speaker 4: this defensive staff. So look, it's my hope that whoever
- 28:37Speaker 4: the next head coach is looks at that says, hey,
- 28:39Speaker 4: let's let's keep some continuity here because remember last time,
- 28:42Speaker 4: like when BK came in, like everything hit reset, everything
- 28:45Speaker 4: started like everybody in the building, not just on the staff,
- 28:48Speaker 4: and so familiar faces guys that recruits know, guys that
- 28:52Speaker 4: the current players obviously have a great relationship with as well.
- 28:56Speaker 4: And I mean even things like maybe a wit Weeks
- 28:58Speaker 4: comes back, if Blake Baker in this staff or back.
- 29:01Speaker 5: So yeah, you sure hope you don't get in the
- 29:02Speaker 5: situation we just we just went through a situation where
- 29:05Speaker 5: a coach came in and said, no, I don't care
- 29:07Speaker 5: about what's been I'm gonna do it. But my way,
- 29:09Speaker 5: you would think that you'd like to have a coach
- 29:11Speaker 5: that comes with a mentality like, let's what what is work?
- 29:14Speaker 5: There's something that's working that's really great. Here, let's maintain
- 29:17Speaker 5: the things that work and change the things that don't.
- 29:21Speaker 4: A couple of things inside the chat here by four chat.
- 29:23Speaker 4: How about Petrino's field toss dive. Yeah, you don't come
- 29:26Speaker 4: to L s U and try to toss on us.
- 29:28Speaker 1: That's our play.
- 29:29Speaker 4: If anybody is going to ever toss dive, it's L
- 29:32Speaker 4: s U or at least that's.
- 29:33Speaker 1: The way that it used to be. Uh.
- 29:36Speaker 4: Yeah, completely disagree with sweet g L s U. Please
- 29:39Speaker 4: don't say weeks our best player guy will play teams
- 29:42Speaker 4: at the next.
- 29:42Speaker 1: Level at best. Come on, Oh really tell me more.
- 29:47Speaker 1: That's that's just not factual. I'm looking.
- 29:50Speaker 4: You can argue best player because like Delane and Halsey
- 29:52Speaker 4: have been playing incredible, like Matt said, like certainly the
- 29:55Speaker 4: heart and soul. Uh to say he's a team's player
- 29:58Speaker 4: at the next level, that's just completely false.
- 30:01Speaker 1: He's gonna play.
- 30:02Speaker 5: Well, everybody is a team's player, play like at the
- 30:05Speaker 5: next level, a.
- 30:06Speaker 1: Special team specialist.
- 30:08Speaker 4: No, now that's now the guy's athletic, quick to the punch,
- 30:13Speaker 4: great rushing the passer as well, good in coverage. Yeah,
- 30:17Speaker 4: that's that's just completely false, And it's fine. It's your opinion,
- 30:21Speaker 4: but I'm just telling.
- 30:21Speaker 5: You, and it's okay to say he's not the best
- 30:23Speaker 5: player on the defense.
- 30:25Speaker 1: Yes, and AJ Halsey too.
- 30:28Speaker 4: Yeah, I've had too many scouts ask me about what
- 30:32Speaker 4: weeks to think that he's just a team's player.
- 30:35Speaker 1: Good there, but it'd be great if he could come back.
- 30:37Speaker 4: I'll tell you that. Hey, you want to play with that.
- 30:39Speaker 4: Your brother got a lot of things. Hey, n I
- 30:42Speaker 4: l is going to be great for what weeks saying.
- 30:44Speaker 5: Somebody's also asking does halse have the speed to play
- 30:46Speaker 5: at the next level. There's a place in the NFL.
- 30:49Speaker 1: For Oh think about like your favorite position star.
- 30:54Speaker 4: But there's some there's some NFL teams that love to
- 30:57Speaker 4: run the star like a true star position, like a
- 30:59Speaker 4: kind of a they don't cause they don't call it star,
- 31:01Speaker 4: but it's kind of like a backer safety mix, like
- 31:04Speaker 4: the Broncos. That's one of their key positions. Oh yeah,
- 31:08Speaker 4: Halsey will play Hawsey will definitely play.
- 31:11Speaker 1: That Cam Chanceller played. I was in Seattle.
- 31:13Speaker 5: You know position you played safety safety safety there you
- 31:16Speaker 5: go on the Star. They just called him a safety rover.
- 31:22Speaker 5: Wait what did Alabama I call this?
- 31:23Speaker 4: Oh gosh, wolf they had a wolf position, they had
- 31:27Speaker 4: another was wolf and something else.
- 31:29Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, I can't wolfe him. I'll have to

- 33:21Speaker 4: It's always a great time to go for dose. It

- 33:34Speaker 4: now it's a great time. Tomorrow is a great time.
- 33:36Speaker 4: It's always a great time to go for dose. Grab
- 33:39Speaker 4: an ice cold do sekis today?
- 33:44Speaker 1: Was it getting better at my sound effects? I'm here worse.
- 33:47Speaker 5: Solid. It's pretty solid. It's probably the same same guy forty.
- 33:51Speaker 5: I'm not gonna improve in my sound.
- 33:52Speaker 1: Effects started out strong.
- 33:54Speaker 5: Actually, no, you can always improve content and never any
- 33:57Speaker 5: self improvement is the way I live my life.
- 34:02Speaker 1: That's wrong. What's so funny with me? Laughing? Nose? Taylor?
- 34:11Speaker 4: You know what, Arkansas probably disappointed that they didn't get
- 34:13Speaker 4: the victory in Tiger Stadium. They didn't get to load
- 34:17Speaker 4: up the old Golden boot and drive it back up
- 34:20Speaker 4: to Fable Arkansas.
- 34:21Speaker 1: Do you think it would have set first class? Oh?
- 34:23Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, they have that in a different spot than
- 34:25Speaker 4: we do. I promise you that, I promise you.
- 34:28Speaker 1: Got it under the plane.
- 34:29Speaker 4: They got it in first they got it in first
- 34:31Speaker 4: class with a seat belt onlot. It might it just
- 34:35Speaker 4: might be so as bad as their feeling after a
- 34:37Speaker 4: one point loss. You know who feels worse? South Carolina?
- 34:41Speaker 4: Oh my gosh. Why Because they were up thirty to
- 34:45Speaker 4: three going into halftime and Shane Beemer was hyping up
- 34:49Speaker 4: the crowd there at cayle Field as they went into
- 34:53Speaker 4: the locker room, and you.
- 34:54Speaker 5: Would normally think, what was the record going into that game?
- 34:57Speaker 5: It was really bad record?
- 34:58Speaker 1: I think it was.
- 35:00Speaker 5: Yeah, so you would think that like going into the
- 35:04Speaker 5: number three team in the country, going onto their home
- 35:06Speaker 5: field and losing by one point, you would think normally
- 35:10Speaker 5: that wouldn't be a fireable offense.
- 35:13Speaker 1: But it was a fireable offense.
- 35:14Speaker 2: Shaneamer put on a masterclass a big lead, way too conservative.
- 35:18Speaker 5: So what was the staff that was that they showed
- 35:21Speaker 5: on television? I got it pulled up here.
- 35:23Speaker 1: It was.
- 35:26Speaker 5: Teams in the SEC and SEC play since two thousand
- 35:30Speaker 5: and four, teams are oh and two hundred and eighty six.
- 35:33Speaker 5: Why when trailing by twenty seven plus points, zero wins
- 35:39Speaker 5: two hundred and eighty six losses in SEC play when
- 35:41Speaker 5: trailing about twenty seven plus points, that that means they
- 35:47Speaker 5: don't win very often.
- 35:50Speaker 1: But they won.
- 35:53Speaker 5: That game. And so you can say all you want
- 35:55Speaker 5: about like the heart of the Champion, which is wildly impressive,
- 35:59Speaker 5: what A and M did like to be able to
- 36:01Speaker 5: overcome that. Let's give them all of the flowers, because
- 36:05Speaker 5: they deserve all the flowers.
- 36:06Speaker 1: They played awful.
- 36:07Speaker 5: Marcel played terrible early on, They played out, they were
- 36:10Speaker 5: trying to do things that they don't normally try to do.
- 36:13Speaker 5: In South Carolina played their best half of football and
- 36:16Speaker 5: so give them all their flowers, but my god, they're
- 36:20Speaker 5: a team cannot just go and win it down by
- 36:23Speaker 5: twenty seven and one half.
- 36:24Speaker 1: The other team has to absolutely lose it.
- 36:27Speaker 5: Yeah, so yeah they should feel great about it, but
- 36:31Speaker 5: it is an absolutely fireable offense to lose a game
- 36:36Speaker 5: went up at thirty.
- 36:38Speaker 4: To three at half time. Yeah, terrible, Like, yeah, you
- 36:42Speaker 4: got to find a way. You got to you got it.
- 36:43Speaker 4: Now you're three and seven. You got to run the football.
- 36:45Speaker 4: You got like you gotta running quarterback like you gotta.
- 36:48Speaker 4: You gotta start from the very get go. Hey, we're
- 36:51Speaker 4: gonna control this clock, and this is just how we're
- 36:53Speaker 4: going to play this game.
- 36:55Speaker 1: You can't lose that game, dude. I gotta know.
- 36:58Speaker 4: Shane Beamer's buy out is is a big one, certainly
- 37:01Speaker 4: for South Carolina, and I love I love Shane. Shane's
- 37:04Speaker 4: always been great to me, his greats, come on the
- 37:07Speaker 4: afternoon show with me, great dude, and he's had some
- 37:10Speaker 4: good moments last year. Last year they were on some
- 37:13Speaker 4: playoff team.
- 37:15Speaker 1: Man, when you.
- 37:16Speaker 4: Lose a thirty to three lead like that and then
- 37:19Speaker 4: the objects of you going into halftime and pumping up
- 37:23Speaker 4: the opposing crowd it's just a tough look to.
- 37:25Speaker 1: Come back from it.
- 37:26Speaker 5: It's a tough look. And like I yeah, and just
- 37:28Speaker 5: like you, I really like him. I heard him. He
- 37:32Speaker 5: was the biggest takeaway from me from SEC media days,
- 37:34Speaker 5: just being impressive, just talking and hearing his confidence and
- 37:36Speaker 5: hearing the way he spoke, and I was like, man,
- 37:38Speaker 5: that's a guy I could play for for sure. Like that,
- 37:40Speaker 5: that guy, that guy gets it. He's good. H the
- 37:44Speaker 5: way he speaks is great. But after that game, I
- 37:49Speaker 5: was like, oh, yeah, I'll be doing a eulogy Monday.
- 37:52Speaker 5: That's how That's how strongly I felt about it. You
- 37:55Speaker 5: just can't it can't happen. But you know what the
- 37:58Speaker 5: benefactors is a know, good for you all. You get
- 38:01Speaker 5: to stay number three in the country. Yeah now for now, Yeah,
- 38:07Speaker 5: that's it's coming.
- 38:08Speaker 1: It's coming. I don't think so. They're still pretty good.
- 38:11Speaker 1: They just played really bad. It's it's gonna happen.
- 38:13Speaker 5: Everybody runs a stinker, like you always as good teams,
- 38:16Speaker 5: you always want that, like there's a get right game
- 38:21Speaker 5: every year, Like it's it's the rude awakening, like we
- 38:25Speaker 5: had that game. That's that learning moment, and you always
- 38:28Speaker 5: hope that you just come out on top of that
- 38:29Speaker 5: game and it doesn't ruin your season. Well, was that
- 38:32Speaker 5: A and M's Was that A and M's game that
- 38:34Speaker 5: they were like, all right, that's the bring us back
- 38:36Speaker 5: to reality, humblest little bit. Let's learn from this. We're
- 38:39Speaker 5: still really good. Usually think that we wanted that type
- 38:42Speaker 5: of game.
- 38:43Speaker 2: Yeah, and they looked at Arkansas team put forty two
- 38:46Speaker 2: on them, three and overtime.
- 38:47Speaker 1: Well, Arkansas is a great team. She was just really great.
- 38:51Speaker 1: That's what that's what it must be.
- 38:53Speaker 4: All right, Well, you're not doing a eulogy there for
- 38:57Speaker 4: Shane this our first week while. But no, Actually, when
- 39:02Speaker 4: we come back, I'll tell you which eulogy you will
- 39:04Speaker 4: be doing in our number three and I'll tell you

- 41:49Speaker 5: I'm glad to have them back on the team.
- 41:50Speaker 4: Certainly somebody we've enjoyed working with for a long time. Well,
- 41:55Speaker 4: somebody's not gonna be working for the Pelicans anymore, speaking
- 41:59Speaker 4: of working with green head coach, he gone fired.
- 42:05Speaker 1: Yeah, look, this is this is overdue. Obviously.
- 42:09Speaker 4: The Pelicans have played thirteen games this year, and they've
- 42:12Speaker 4: already had two different losing streaks, one of five games
- 42:15Speaker 4: and one of six games. That's right, thirteen games played.
- 42:18Speaker 4: They've already had two different losing streaks. Won five games,
- 42:20Speaker 4: won six games, and only thirteen games played. Had to happen,
- 42:25Speaker 4: just had to should have happened, probably a long time ago.
- 42:31Speaker 4: I'm not saying you're the most talented team in the world,
- 42:33Speaker 4: but you've got too much talent to play as bad
- 42:35Speaker 4: as you are. I mean, you're two and eleven, two
- 42:38Speaker 4: and eleven already on this year, and you look, you've
- 42:41Speaker 4: got some exciting rook rookies I mean, Fears and Queen
- 42:45Speaker 4: are good rookies, like they've got some promise to them.
- 42:48Speaker 4: And you add that with Trey Murphy and Herb Jones
- 42:51Speaker 4: and some of the other pieces. You have Zion Zion,
- 42:54Speaker 4: and you can never count on when he's going to
- 42:56Speaker 4: be on the court. But I'm not saying you should
- 42:58Speaker 4: be the best team in the NBA, but any means
- 43:00Speaker 4: but you had too much talent on the roster to
- 43:03Speaker 4: play as poorly as you were.
- 43:06Speaker 1: Taylor, that's an interesting choice. He's getting his tears wiped. Guys,
- 43:11Speaker 1: why is he crying? I don't know. I just thought
- 43:14Speaker 1: it was I can't remember a moment where Willy Green
- 43:16Speaker 1: should have that kind of emotion. What's that movie with
- 43:19Speaker 1: Will Ferrell when they hugged all strange? That step brother
- 43:25Speaker 1: like that before?
- 43:26Speaker 5: Looks like that scene, huh fun.
- 43:37Speaker 1: Can y'all think of a moment where Willy Green should
- 43:39Speaker 1: have had a tear wipe from his y? No, they
- 43:41Speaker 1: didn't have any playoff series.
- 43:43Speaker 2: Zion went down again something Well, No, I mean there's
- 43:46Speaker 2: ever any emotion that he knows too well to be
- 43:49Speaker 2: upset about and be that?
- 43:52Speaker 1: Is there too much crying in sports? Yes? Question needs
- 43:56Speaker 1: to be asked. I feel like, have you ever cried
- 43:59Speaker 1: when or lose? No, not on the field at least, no,
- 44:04Speaker 1: are you That's probably more appropriate.
- 44:06Speaker 4: It was what you said you did in the locker
- 44:08Speaker 4: round you for beating the Cowboys. Maybe happy tears?
- 44:11Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, yeah, that was an emotional ride for me.
- 44:14Speaker 5: I'd got cut by the Raider, has been traded from Seattle,
- 44:18Speaker 5: came back and beat the Cowboys.
- 44:20Speaker 1: Which seemed.
- 44:22Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, good emotional on That's what I'm saying, Yeah,
- 44:25Speaker 5: But feel the question is to be asked, is there.
- 44:26Speaker 1: Are too much crying? It's sports right now. I get it.
- 44:28Speaker 5: You gotta be in touch with your emotional self. You're
- 44:30Speaker 5: innerview things are people want people to be passionate. But
- 44:33Speaker 5: I'm just asking questions. I'm not saying that there is
- 44:36Speaker 5: no there's.
- 44:37Speaker 4: Just a lot.
- 44:37Speaker 1: I feel like there's a lot of it. Yeah, No,
- 44:39Speaker 1: I don't. I can't think of a I can't think
- 44:42Speaker 1: of a scenario where.
- 44:43Speaker 5: Right, like I still think about to this day, t
- 44:45Speaker 5: Boat crying on the field after after the regular season loss,
- 44:48Speaker 5: a regular season loss, and like it was emotional for
- 44:51Speaker 5: him and I get that that's that's great, Like it
- 44:53Speaker 5: was so uncommon that that still sticks out.
- 44:57Speaker 4: Yeah, yes, a crab when he gave the speech like
- 45:01Speaker 4: no team in America is going to play as hard.
- 45:03Speaker 1: As we already that speech is memorialized.
- 45:06Speaker 4: It is is it a plaque or is it as
- 45:09Speaker 4: the ground.
- 45:10Speaker 1: On the ground? Yeah, I think I was like on
- 45:12Speaker 1: the side of the building. Now you don't walk on that.
- 45:14Speaker 4: That was on the side of the building as you
- 45:16Speaker 4: walk into like the football facility.
- 45:18Speaker 5: That's that's you don't walk on that speech. Yeah, selfies
- 45:21Speaker 5: by that one.
- 45:22Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, cool. Is the Pelican season already classic? It's
- 45:31Speaker 1: on the side of the building. It's over, mid it's over.
- 45:34Speaker 1: It really was ever before it started. But like again
- 45:37Speaker 1: it's not the most talented roster. But they shouldn't be
- 45:40Speaker 1: as bad as they are. That's fair enough.
- 45:43Speaker 4: Well, yes, you got too much talent again, like you
- 45:48Speaker 4: should be like at least in the conversation of playoff,
- 45:51Speaker 4: like what are we doing?
- 45:52Speaker 1: Yeah, somebody's on the side of.
- 45:53Speaker 4: The building, if not to play off the play in, yeah,
- 45:55Speaker 4: playing something something?
- 45:56Speaker 1: Yeah, the promise? What is that this basic red brick
- 46:02Speaker 1: It looks like it's like a building font. Is that?
- 46:06Speaker 4: Yeah, it's like the most basic font you can find
- 46:10Speaker 4: the Microsoft word A jester white.
- 46:14Speaker 1: I've never seen a white sign like that. Yeah, why
- 46:16Speaker 1: is it not orange and blue? It feels like something
- 46:20Speaker 1: at least make it like more metallic. Behind it would
- 46:24Speaker 1: have Maine. It looks like it's like behind the corner
- 46:26Speaker 1: of a building. Is this thing hidden? They still grab
- 46:29Speaker 1: newspapers too, out of newspaper bens. I don't know. All right,
- 46:32Speaker 1: we got a lot coming in our number three.
- 46:34Speaker 4: We got weekend winters, we got Devin Snow, we got
- 46:37Speaker 4: a eulogy for a fallen brother.
- 46:39Speaker 1: We have all that coming your way. Now, number three
- 46:42Speaker 1: off the bench.
