- 0:00Speaker 1: This is seven, tor Boy, The Mark Simoon Show starts now. Ay,
- 0:10Speaker 1: well it's Thursday already. This has been a long week.
- 0:13Speaker 1: I think it's the weathers. This makes us a depressing,
- 0:16Speaker 1: awful week. Anyway, we got a lot to get to today.
- 0:19Speaker 1: We'll get to Alex pretty new video emerging showing what
- 0:22Speaker 1: a horrible guy this guy is. We'll get to that.
- 0:26Speaker 1: We'll get to a possible government shutdown coming very soon.
- 0:30Speaker 1: We'll get to the President what he's up to today.
- 0:32Speaker 1: We'll get to the Hall of Fame not voting Belichick in.
- 0:36Speaker 1: We'll get to the horrible anti Semitic attacks that have
- 0:40Speaker 1: been taking place over the last couple of days and
- 0:42Speaker 1: what's going to be done about it. We'll get to
- 0:45Speaker 1: mayor mom Donnie. The budget crisis. Oh, I don't know.
- 0:49Speaker 1: I mean, you got a major, multi billion dollar budget crisis.
- 0:55Speaker 1: Is this kid the guy you'd want to figure it out?
- 0:57Speaker 1: I don't think so. Okay, here's the lad in Minneapolis.
- 1:01Speaker 1: Tom Holman held a press conference this morning which impressed everybody,
- 1:07Speaker 1: his tone, his content, calming the situation down. Holman has
- 1:12Speaker 1: been in Minneapolis meeting with the mayor, the governor, police chiefs.
- 1:15Speaker 1: He's got more police chiefs to meet today, and he
- 1:19Speaker 1: explained it very slowly and carefully. If a lot of
- 1:22Speaker 1: people saw this, it's going to help calm things down.
- 1:26Speaker 1: I don't know how many people saw it, but it
- 1:28Speaker 1: was broadcast live, even on CNN, even on MSNBC or
- 1:34Speaker 1: whatever the hell it's called now. Holman explaining that ICE
- 1:38Speaker 1: does this all over the country in many many cities
- 1:41Speaker 1: and many many states, and in all those places it's
- 1:44Speaker 1: done peacefully, orderly, and that's because they have the full
- 1:48Speaker 1: cooperation of the locals. And in most of those places
- 1:52Speaker 1: they have a much smaller footprint and you know, less agents,
- 1:57Speaker 1: just a smaller group. And he explained that in Minneapolis
- 2:01Speaker 1: it could have had a much, much, much smaller group
- 2:03Speaker 1: of agents there, of vice officers, but because the locals
- 2:08Speaker 1: won't cooperate, he had to send a lot more people.
- 2:11Speaker 1: In other words, and explain this carefully. If it takes
- 2:14Speaker 1: twenty guys to go do the arresting of people, you
- 2:17Speaker 1: send twenty people and that's it. If there's going to
- 2:21Speaker 1: be no police on the ground anywhere to assist, now
- 2:25Speaker 1: you've got to send another thirty or forty or fifty
- 2:28Speaker 1: to take care of crowd control. Because you're going to
- 2:31Speaker 1: get these screaming, angry, nutjob protesters. And in any situation,
- 2:36Speaker 1: the police keep the protesters on that side of the
- 2:39Speaker 1: street where they're free to yell and wave their signs
- 2:44Speaker 1: and blow their whistles. But if you take the police
- 2:47Speaker 1: away and the barricades away, nothing stops the protesters for
- 2:50Speaker 1: just going physically after the law enforcement and confronting them.
- 2:55Speaker 1: That's what happened on January sixth. If they had done
- 2:58Speaker 1: what the President said, had the ten thousand troops guarding
- 3:02Speaker 1: the capitol, the protesters would have been held way back,
- 3:05Speaker 1: would have never gotten anywhere near the capitol. But without
- 3:08Speaker 1: any of the troops, you just had the building security
- 3:11Speaker 1: guys there. The capitol police, you know, they're not trained
- 3:14Speaker 1: for controlling a mob of four hundred thousand people. So
- 3:19Speaker 1: protesters were able to get into the capitol, overrun the place,
- 3:22Speaker 1: physically confront the law enforcement. That's when you have disaster,
- 3:25Speaker 1: and that's what happened in Minneapolis. They deliberately withdrew all
- 3:29Speaker 1: the police. These guys. Ice guys were alone on the
- 3:32Speaker 1: street confronted physically by the mob. So it's home and
- 3:36Speaker 1: explained they're going to have to have the local police
- 3:39Speaker 1: step in control the protesting, keep it peaceful, keep it nonviolent. So,
- 3:46Speaker 1: in other words, protesters can't drive their car into an officer,
- 3:50Speaker 1: they can't wrestle with an officer, they can't physically confront them.
- 3:54Speaker 1: Now new videos come out of pretty which is pretty shocking.
- 3:58Speaker 1: You know, the media spent two three days explaining to
- 4:01Speaker 1: you he's a gentleman, he's a nurse. He tweets people
- 4:05Speaker 1: he's a carrying, gentle sweet nurse. Well, this new video
- 4:11Speaker 1: makes him look like a raging nutjob. If you didn't
- 4:16Speaker 1: know anything about this incident, if somebody just showed you
- 4:18Speaker 1: this video and say, hey, look at here's a road
- 4:19Speaker 1: rage incident, you think this guy should be in a
- 4:22Speaker 1: metal institution. He's driving by, he sees ice officers arresting somebody,
- 4:29Speaker 1: so he stops his car, slams on the brinks, jumps out,
- 4:33Speaker 1: starts calling him all kinds of names. I think if
- 4:35Speaker 1: you go to my Twitter you can find the one
- 4:36Speaker 1: with the audio. We can't play it on the air
- 4:39Speaker 1: because it's all F mother, F this, mother, F that,
- 4:43Speaker 1: and he's screaming at the police, come on, arrest me,
- 4:45Speaker 1: assault me, you mother. It's really vile. Can't play it
- 4:49Speaker 1: on the air. But he then goes after the car,
- 4:56Speaker 1: the ice vehicle. He starts a firsty, he spits at
- 5:00Speaker 1: the ice officer, he spits at the vehicle. Then he
- 5:03Speaker 1: starts kicking the vehicle. And I got to give him credit,
- 5:06Speaker 1: he's pretty good at that kicking, because he kicked it
- 5:08Speaker 1: hard enough to completely destroy the tail light. Not just
- 5:11Speaker 1: smash the glass on it, but he knocked the whole
- 5:14Speaker 1: everything out of the car, leaving a big hole in
- 5:17Speaker 1: the back of the car. Again on my Twitter you
- 5:19Speaker 1: can see the video. So he's damaged this car. Now
- 5:22Speaker 1: it's undrivable, no tail light and a big hole in
- 5:26Speaker 1: the back. And the officers now stop, get him out.
- 5:29Speaker 1: They wrestle him to the ground, and I don't know why,
- 5:33Speaker 1: but they didn't arrest him. He committed a terrible crime there,
- 5:36Speaker 1: vandalizing this vehicle, but they didn't arrest him. They let
- 5:40Speaker 1: him go. They diffused the situation. They were very surprisingly tolerant.
- 5:46Speaker 1: They let him go. They should have arrested him there.
- 5:49Speaker 1: They should have arrested him and had him locked up.
- 5:51Speaker 1: Maybe that way his life would be saved, because he
- 5:53Speaker 1: wouldn't be back on the street to do this. Stuff.
- 5:56Speaker 1: So he's a very violent, out of control, raging sort
- 6:01Speaker 1: of a guy. The videos are all over the place. Now,
- 6:03Speaker 1: you know the shooting video, you've seen that a million
- 6:06Speaker 1: times on mainstream news. But this video of him raging
- 6:10Speaker 1: out of control damaging the vehicle, of course you don't see.
- 6:13Speaker 1: You see that once and then they don't show it again. Now,
- 6:16Speaker 1: Holman also explained this Ice operation, it's perfectly legal. In fact,
- 6:20Speaker 1: it's an operation to enforce the law, and Holman pointing
- 6:25Speaker 1: out it's what America voted for. America voted for this,
- 6:29Speaker 1: to have the illegals rounded up and taken out removed,
- 6:33Speaker 1: especially the criminal ones. America voted for this. This is
- 6:36Speaker 1: what they're doing. So it was a pretty good press conference.
- 6:42Speaker 1: You'll see it throughout the day today. There's a cabinet
- 6:45Speaker 1: meeting a little later. This couple hours, President will hold
- 6:49Speaker 1: a cabinet meeting. I'm sure he'll go on at length
- 6:51Speaker 1: about all this. Everybody's gonna be looking to see where
- 6:55Speaker 1: Christy nom is in the cabinet meeting, if she gets
- 6:57Speaker 1: to speak, and if the President as he goes around
- 7:00Speaker 1: the room defends her, she's under fire right now. A
- 7:03Speaker 1: lot of people calling for her to be fired. She's
- 7:06Speaker 1: been sidelined. Knowing the president when Hexath was in a
- 7:10Speaker 1: lot of trouble there, he'll probably do the same thing.
- 7:12Speaker 1: You'll praise him, give him praise, givem a pat on
- 7:14Speaker 1: the back. But keeping quiet. Now there's a lot going on.
- 7:20Speaker 1: There's the talk of a shutdown, maybe this weekend, maybe Monday.
- 7:23Speaker 1: The good thing is the snowstorm has affected Washington, d C.
- 7:27Speaker 1: In a lot of places, so most of these congress
- 7:29Speaker 1: people cannot get back to Washington or don't want to
- 7:32Speaker 1: get back to Washington, so that may delay things. The
- 7:34Speaker 1: shutdown would be over ICE defunding ICE, defunding Homeland Security.
- 7:41Speaker 1: Now you can't really do that because if it defund
- 7:43Speaker 1: homeland security, that's a lot of other things. That's the TSA.
- 7:47Speaker 1: There's too many things in there. You can't just defund it.
- 7:49Speaker 1: So they'll fight about certain things. You'll see Schumer with
- 7:53Speaker 1: the glasses no longer the Ben Franklin glasses now the
- 7:56Speaker 1: big swifty Lazar glasses, the big cl Kent glasses. And
- 8:02Speaker 1: you know he gets all esteemed. It's the video of
- 8:04Speaker 1: him yesterday or the day before using the F word,
- 8:07Speaker 1: trying to sound tough, but it's great to way what
- 8:10Speaker 1: he gets all riled up. The glasses are fogging up.
- 8:13Speaker 1: Here's Schumer yesterday.
- 8:14Speaker 2: But we also realized that this puts our democracy at risk.
- 8:19Speaker 1: It's a force of thuggery.
- 8:21Speaker 2: The federal government is supporting a large force of thuggery.
- 8:25Speaker 2: Can we really worry about its consequences for America if
- 8:28Speaker 2: we don't rain them in.
- 8:30Speaker 1: This guy is the worst actor ever. You can give
- 8:32Speaker 1: them any dialogue and he can make it boring anything,
- 8:36Speaker 1: and he could put you asleep. So they'll fight about
- 8:39Speaker 1: things with to avoid the shutdown. They'll fight about ice
- 8:43Speaker 1: and changes, big changes. Now. One of the things democrats
- 8:47Speaker 1: want is no masks. They have to take the masks off.
- 8:50Speaker 1: Now that's probably not going to happen. There's a compromise
- 8:52Speaker 1: the government has proposed. They'll keep the mask, but each
- 8:55Speaker 1: one will have a number on them, an identifying number.
- 8:58Speaker 1: So if you want to report for anything, you just
- 9:01Speaker 1: give the number and the government can look up exactly
- 9:04Speaker 1: who the guy is. The reason for the masks is
- 9:07Speaker 1: these crazy lunatics. If they can see the face, we'll
- 9:11Speaker 1: try to identify the person and then go terrorize their
- 9:14Speaker 1: family in their homes. So that's the reason for the masks.
- 9:19Speaker 1: Stephen Colbert shocked a lot of people last night making
- 9:24Speaker 1: a joke about He started talking about you, you know, calling
- 9:28Speaker 1: these people Nazis, calling them Nazis, and he played clips
- 9:30Speaker 1: of everybody calling them Nazis, and then Colbert said something
- 9:33Speaker 1: to the effect of, that's wrong to compare them the Nazis.
- 9:38Speaker 1: The Nazis didn't wear a mask. Give the Nazis credit.
- 9:41Speaker 1: They didn't wear a mask. They showed their faces. In
- 9:43Speaker 1: other words, he was praising the Nazis over Ice, which
- 9:47Speaker 1: is horrible, horrible thing to say. It's trivializing the Holocaust.
- 9:53Speaker 1: It's praising the Nazis. It's given them credit for something,
- 9:57Speaker 1: and trivializing the Holocaust is always a sign of real
- 10:00Speaker 1: serious anti Semitism. Colbert getting a lot of backlash. He's
- 10:04Speaker 1: already fired, so there's not much they can do to him.
- 10:07Speaker 1: Speaking of anti Semitism, we've had a couple of horrible,
- 10:10Speaker 1: horrible incidents in the last couple of days. There was
- 10:14Speaker 1: a rabbi walking down the street wearing a yamaka and
- 10:19Speaker 1: a guy comes up and starts screaming the worst anti
- 10:22Speaker 1: semitic and then attacks the rabbi. Knocks from the ground,
- 10:26Speaker 1: beats him up. Here's the rabbit.
- 10:27Speaker 3: I just said, it cannot happen like this. I must
- 10:31Speaker 3: fight back, and I just give him back. And I
- 10:33Speaker 3: found myself into a fight. I never you know, I'm
- 10:36Speaker 3: not a fight I'm a rabbi. And I found myself
- 10:40Speaker 3: falling in the floor, in the snow, getting punched.
- 10:43Speaker 1: In horrible, horrible incident. And then in the Hubbad Center,
- 10:47Speaker 1: the Lubavic Center in Brooklyn, Crown Heights, Brooklyn, attacked by
- 10:51Speaker 1: a guy in a car at the entrance. He comes up,
- 10:56Speaker 1: as he said, if he's driving up to the entrance,
- 10:58Speaker 1: then he tries to drive through it, smash it. Then
- 11:00Speaker 1: he pulls his car back and then goes forward again,
- 11:03Speaker 1: trying to smash it over and over and over again.
- 11:06Speaker 1: A lot of police patrolling that center, and luckily they
- 11:09Speaker 1: were close by. They got the guy, pulled him out
- 11:11Speaker 1: of the car. Here's the news report. Yes, this is
- 11:15Speaker 1: a witness.
- 11:15Speaker 4: He's yelling at the boys to move out the way
- 11:18Speaker 4: as they were standing in the driveway, and he pulls
- 11:21Speaker 4: his car in and then he starts ramming the building,
- 11:25Speaker 4: driving in, reversing, driving in again, just driving in and out.
- 11:28Speaker 4: Did it about five times straight away. Boys ran to
- 11:30Speaker 4: there's a police unit parked outside the main entrance to
- 11:33Speaker 4: the building and around the police came and pulled him
- 11:37Speaker 4: out of the car, arrested him. It was about six
- 11:39Speaker 4: foot long hair. He was just in his wearing a shirt,
- 11:42Speaker 4: but just underwear.
- 11:45Speaker 1: Yeah, how cold it was yesterday it was like windchill
- 11:49Speaker 1: minus six. He's just in this underwear. So obviously a
- 11:53Speaker 1: raging nut anti Semite. Something's got to be done about this.
- 11:56Speaker 1: It's out of control. You know, you always hear about
- 11:59Speaker 1: the Muslim community. I checked with police officials. There's no
- 12:03Speaker 1: attacks anywhere on the Muslim community. It's all anti Semitic attacks,
- 12:07Speaker 1: all anti Semitic attacks all over in New York. It's
- 12:11Speaker 1: got to stop. The Police Commissioner held a press conference
- 12:14Speaker 1: denouncing all this and announcing the arrest, and Mamdannie stood
- 12:17Speaker 1: with her and then spoke about the horrible anti semitism
- 12:21Speaker 1: and his tone was right, his words were right. Let's
- 12:23Speaker 1: hope he meant it. Here's the good news. We have
- 12:27Speaker 1: a new City Council speaker who runs the city council,
- 12:31Speaker 1: Speaker of the City Council, and that's a very big job.
- 12:33Speaker 1: The city council speaker has as much power as a
- 12:37Speaker 1: mayor in doing things in New York. Well, the new
- 12:39Speaker 1: City Council speaker, Julie Menin, we had a luncheon for
- 12:43Speaker 1: her yesterday. I talked to her yesterday. She's great. Julie
- 12:46Speaker 1: men In, new City council speaker, the first Jewish I believe,
- 12:51Speaker 1: I think Jewish city council speaker. And she has already
- 12:55Speaker 1: announced she's forming an anti Semitism task force. They will
- 13:00Speaker 1: have they'll have a lot of power to do things
- 13:02Speaker 1: all over the city about anti Semitism, including holding hearings
- 13:06Speaker 1: and holding people accountable. So that's the goodness. And she's
- 13:09Speaker 1: a she's a Democrat, but she's a very very moderate
- 13:13Speaker 1: conservative Democrat, very common sense So whatever whatever Mom Donnie
- 13:18Speaker 1: tries to do, she can help counter it. So you
- 13:21Speaker 1: got some balance there. It's very important to remember you
- 13:23Speaker 1: got a city council speaker who's the opposite of Mom Donnie. Hey,
- 13:28Speaker 1: Bill Belichick, it's not getting to the Hall of Fame.
- 13:31Speaker 1: Everybody yelling and screaming about it. Some major names are
- 13:35Speaker 1: now not coming to the ceremony as a result of
- 13:37Speaker 1: Belichick being snubbed. Tom Brady can't believe it.
- 13:42Speaker 5: I don't understand it. I mean, I was with them
- 13:44Speaker 5: every day. If he's not a first ball of Hall
- 13:46Speaker 5: of Famer, there's really no coach that should ever be.
- 13:49Speaker 1: Yeah, now, if you win six Super Bowls and you
- 13:52Speaker 1: can't get in, what the hell do you have to
- 13:54Speaker 1: do to get in? Now? Some people say, what would
- 13:57Speaker 1: what would be the reason they would snubb? Some say, well,
- 13:59Speaker 1: the cheating. Okay, there was some cheating with the Patriots,
- 14:04Speaker 1: stealing signals, playing around with the inflation on the ball,
- 14:07Speaker 1: that kind of stuff. But I'm sure it happens all
- 14:10Speaker 1: over the place. But they think that might be the reason.
- 14:12Speaker 6: They didn't think that someone who had run a year's
- 14:15Speaker 6: long cheating operation should.
- 14:17Speaker 7: Get into the Hall of Fame in his first year
- 14:19Speaker 7: of eligibility.
- 14:21Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know. Without the cheating, they
- 14:24Speaker 1: would do just fine. Hey, Jimmy Johnson says he's not
- 14:27Speaker 1: coming to the ceremony. Had chartered a plane he was
- 14:30Speaker 1: going to go there. He said, to hell with it,
- 14:32Speaker 1: I'm not going this year. Belichick should have been automatic.
- 14:37Speaker 1: So hey, Sunday, there's a chance of what they call
- 14:41Speaker 1: a bomb cyclone. This is snow now, it's probably not
- 14:46Speaker 1: that bad snow wise. At the worst it will be
- 14:48Speaker 1: about three inches. There's two different models, so this could change,
- 14:53Speaker 1: but the current trajectory shows it kind of missing most
- 14:58Speaker 1: of us. It's gonna hit eastern Long Island maybe hard,
- 15:02Speaker 1: and maybe the Jersey Shore. But in the city, Westchester,
- 15:06Speaker 1: Fairfield County, NASA County won't be as bad. But in
- 15:11Speaker 1: other words, we might get one to three inches and
- 15:13Speaker 1: on the other places maybe over three. But it's called
- 15:16Speaker 1: a bomb cyclone. What that means is it's fast and furious.
- 15:20Speaker 1: It's not like last the weekend where it snows for
- 15:24Speaker 1: you know, nineteen hours. This is like two three hours
- 15:26Speaker 1: of this ferocious snow and it all comes at once,
- 15:29Speaker 1: and it comes with very fast, heavy winds. So that's
- 15:33Speaker 1: why they call it a bomb cyclone. Keep an eye
- 15:35Speaker 1: on this. It could be this Sunday now, then after
- 15:39Speaker 1: that Monday Tuesday looks like it get lay up to
- 15:42Speaker 1: thirty two maybe slightly above freezing. You might start melting
- 15:45Speaker 1: some of this snow. There are snow melters. They started
- 15:48Speaker 1: to bring those into the city where you plow up
- 15:50Speaker 1: the snow and dump it in the melter and it
- 15:52Speaker 1: turns it into water and goes down the drain. But anyway,
- 15:55Speaker 1: we got a lot to get to. Oh, don't go away.
- 15:57Speaker 1: We'll get to Bruce Springsteen and many apples. He's come
- 16:00Speaker 1: up with a song. You know, you got to hear
- 16:02Speaker 1: this ridiculous. Anyway, we'll get to that coming up. We'll
- 16:05Speaker 1: take some calls. Next. Eight hundred three two one zero
- 16:09Speaker 1: seven ten is the number. Eight hundred three two one
- 16:12Speaker 1: zero seven ten set up pre set on the iHeartRadio
- 16:15Speaker 1: app to do woar to hear Mark Live. Set another
- 16:19Speaker 1: for Mark's podcast to hear him anytime.
- 16:23Speaker 5: Now back to Mark Simon on woar.
- 16:27Speaker 1: Well, let's take some calls. Let's go to uh, let's
- 16:31Speaker 1: go to Danny in Boston. Danny, how you doing?
- 16:35Speaker 5: Hi? Mark?
- 16:36Speaker 7: I just want to say that if Legal Immigration got.
- 16:38Speaker 1: A translate for people who are living in New York,
- 16:40Speaker 1: Mack means Mark, it's from Boston.
- 16:43Speaker 7: Oh all right, mister Simon, the Legal Immigration's got a
- 16:47Speaker 7: golf too, because we're getting flooded now, it's ridiculous. And
- 16:51Speaker 7: what's going on?
- 16:52Speaker 1: How much snow do you have there in Boston right now?
- 16:55Speaker 7: Oh we're supposed to Just like you said, we're getting
- 16:57Speaker 7: more Sunday but it's we're buried here. We have so
- 17:00Speaker 7: many Third world as. They don't know how to shovel snow.
- 17:03Speaker 7: That's why legal immigrations.
- 17:05Speaker 1: If you need snow shovel that's what you get. The
- 17:07Speaker 1: third world there is, that's uh, the illegals, that's two
- 17:09Speaker 1: shovels the snow.
- 17:11Speaker 7: Uh.
- 17:11Speaker 1: Where are you? Where are you in Boston?
- 17:15Speaker 7: I'm considered as southeas I love, but I love the
- 17:18Speaker 7: North end of the Italian restaurants still there, still beautiful
- 17:21Speaker 7: and delicious, of course.
- 17:24Speaker 5: Uh.
- 17:24Speaker 3: The thing is, it's funny.
- 17:26Speaker 1: Southea was South Boston. Southee was like the bad, bad area.
- 17:30Speaker 1: Now it's like the hottest place in the world. Now
- 17:31Speaker 1: it's the meatpacking district of Boston.
- 17:35Speaker 7: Uh So, what's all the hippies? All the hippies, hippies
- 17:37Speaker 7: and yippies are up there. They all lived in there.
- 17:40Speaker 7: Did the governor mem he wants.
- 17:41Speaker 1: To do she wants to translate for those here in
- 17:44Speaker 1: New York, Governor, it means, governor, Uh, I love your
- 17:47Speaker 1: Boston accent. It's great, thanks for calling. Uh. It happens
- 17:51Speaker 1: in a lot of neighborhoods Dorchester, Southey in Boston or
- 17:55Speaker 1: not Dorchester as they say in Boston Dorchester. Uh, these
- 18:01Speaker 1: rundown rough neighborhoods with these old timers, and then all
- 18:04Speaker 1: of a sudden they become like the meatpacking district. They
- 18:06Speaker 1: become the hottest place. There's a million twenty somethings running
- 18:09Speaker 1: around and drives these old timers crazy. Let's go to
- 18:12Speaker 1: Richard in Bay Shore. Richard, how you doing.
- 18:16Speaker 6: Hey, good morning Mark. Two quick points, one about Holman
- 18:19Speaker 6: and one about Preddy. I think Holman should wear his
- 18:23Speaker 6: medal that Obama gave him whenever he can. I mean,
- 18:25Speaker 6: he makes a public appearance. I think it'll you know,
- 18:29Speaker 6: they formerly streaming press can't ignore it, and it'll create
- 18:32Speaker 6: a discussion which will be I think positive.
- 18:36Speaker 1: Well it's a good idea, but Holman's not the type
- 18:39Speaker 1: to do it. He's not a grand standard. Even said
- 18:41Speaker 1: at the beginning of this press commas This Morning goes,
- 18:43Speaker 1: I'm not a photo ops guy. He's you remember the
- 18:49Speaker 1: Seinfeld episode where they got to meet Elaine's father played
- 18:54Speaker 1: by the old actor Lawrence Tierney, and he's just gruff guy.
- 18:58Speaker 1: They get all uncomfortable the guy that's home and he's
- 19:00Speaker 1: I mean, he's a great guy. I'm an American hero,
- 19:02Speaker 1: but K wouldn't want to spend New Year's Eve with him.
- 19:06Speaker 1: Let's just put it that way. He's not the most
- 19:07Speaker 1: lively guy in the world, but he's a very very
- 19:10Speaker 1: top top guy, perfect guy in this situation, and his
- 19:14Speaker 1: press conference today was brilliant, exactly the right tone. Let's
- 19:18Speaker 1: go to Freddy in Long Island. Freddie, how you doing?
- 19:22Speaker 5: First time? Called a first time call a monk. I
- 19:25Speaker 5: have two questions for you.
- 19:27Speaker 7: The first question is how do you what do you
- 19:31Speaker 7: think about the percentage of the protesters that are paid
- 19:34Speaker 7: in Minnesota.
- 19:35Speaker 1: Oh, it's another very good point. Many of them are
- 19:38Speaker 1: organized paid, and Holman said today of those of you
- 19:42Speaker 1: financing this, justice is coming soon, so there is an
- 19:46Speaker 1: investigation tracking the money. Second question, what do you.
- 19:49Speaker 5: Think the percentages of the of the people though that
- 19:51Speaker 5: are there.
- 19:52Speaker 7: What percentage you think it is that are paid protesters
- 19:55Speaker 7: of all the people that.
- 19:56Speaker 1: It's probably fifty percent because when you start this, well
- 19:59Speaker 1: I don't I'm just guessing it could be. When you
- 20:04Speaker 1: start this kind of stuff, it's the paid protesters. We've
- 20:09Speaker 1: seen the trucks pull up passing out the signs that
- 20:12Speaker 1: are all obviously from the same printer, very expensive printing.
- 20:15Speaker 1: Remember we saw that in the twenty twenty summer Riots,
- 20:18Speaker 1: where the truck would pull up and pass out bats
- 20:20Speaker 1: and bricks to everybody. Very organized, very well financed. But
- 20:25Speaker 1: then they start online. Everybody's tweeting and you know, in chats,
- 20:29Speaker 1: letting everybody know where they are. So when they let
- 20:31Speaker 1: everybody know where the paid protesters are, then a million
- 20:35Speaker 1: amateurs will show up and join in. But Homan making
- 20:39Speaker 1: a clear they are tracking the money and they will
- 20:41Speaker 1: be coming after they DJ will be coming after some people.
- 20:45Speaker 1: Let's go to Dave in Orange County. Dave, how you doing?
- 20:48Speaker 8: Hey, I do, Bud. The reason why Belichick has gotten
- 20:52Speaker 8: Hall of Fame close. He's just not a nice person.
- 20:55Speaker 8: He's mean, he's arrogant, He's that's.
- 20:58Speaker 1: Half the guys in the NFL, that's half the Quarner back.
- 21:02Speaker 8: Well, well, you know what, he takes it a little
- 21:04Speaker 8: too far, you know what I mean? I get you know,
- 21:06Speaker 8: you know, you could be a hard guy and also
- 21:10Speaker 8: be respectful.
- 21:11Speaker 1: Hey, I hate to say it. I hate to say
- 21:13Speaker 1: it because I knew the guy. But there was nobody meaner,
- 21:16Speaker 1: nastier than Joe DiMaggio. But he got in the Hall
- 21:18Speaker 1: of Fame. Oh okay, I'm sorry. I didn't realize. Hey, how
- 21:23Speaker 1: much snow do you have? How much snow do you
- 21:25Speaker 1: have in Orange County?
- 21:27Speaker 5: Oh? We got we got a good amount.
- 21:28Speaker 8: We got at two feet up here, two feet?
- 21:31Speaker 1: Oh my god.
- 21:32Speaker 8: The problem is that it's not going anywhere, you know,
- 21:35Speaker 8: It's just it's mouths abound the snow.
- 21:37Speaker 1: All right, it made me feel better. You made me
- 21:40Speaker 1: feel better. He's got these got two feet, we got
- 21:42Speaker 1: six inches. We shouldn't complain so much. Uh, I didn't
- 21:45Speaker 1: have to go to the gym this week. I just
- 21:46Speaker 1: get enough excess jumping over puddles, climbing up snow banks.
- 21:51Speaker 1: So they do have these big, huge, enormous machines. It
- 21:54Speaker 1: looks like a big enormous truck, and you take the snow,
- 21:57Speaker 1: you plow it up, and you jump it into this
- 21:59Speaker 1: thing and it melts it down to water and gets
- 22:02Speaker 1: rid of it. Some shopping centers use them. Was the
- 22:07Speaker 1: plow You know, when you plow a shopping center, you
- 22:10Speaker 1: end up piling up the snow. You lose half your
- 22:11Speaker 1: parking spaces. But if you got these snow melters, you
- 22:15Speaker 1: just dump it into there and eventually can clear the
- 22:17Speaker 1: whole parking lot. All the snow is gone. They started
- 22:20Speaker 1: bringing these things into the city last night. I don't
- 22:22Speaker 1: know how many they have, but they're starting to do
- 22:25Speaker 1: that with the snow. The other thing they do is
- 22:27Speaker 1: they now start plowing up this snow that's piled up
- 22:30Speaker 1: on the sides there, put it in the trucks and
- 22:32Speaker 1: go dump it in the river. So that operation started yesterday. Hey,
- 22:36Speaker 1: when we come back, the greatest political analyst, the dean himself,
- 22:39Speaker 1: Ed Rollins next on seven to ten, wor here's more,
- 22:44Speaker 1: Marks amone on seven to ten wr. Well, let's talk
- 22:49Speaker 1: to the dean himself, Ed Rollins, who's run more campaigns,
- 22:54Speaker 1: more successful campaigns than anyone's done in more white houses,
- 22:57Speaker 1: knows everything about this stuff, Ed Rollins? How you doing good?
- 23:02Speaker 5: Mark? How are you doing this morning?
- 23:04Speaker 1: Very good? Can you believe it's talking about government shutdown again?
- 23:07Speaker 1: Why did this happen?
- 23:11Speaker 5: Well, you know you only had a couple of boat
- 23:13Speaker 5: margins in the House and in the Senate. Anything can happen.
- 23:16Speaker 5: And I think to a certain extent, Democrats cann't take
- 23:18Speaker 5: any issue they can to embarrass the president. I think
- 23:23Speaker 5: to a certain extent, they need to resolve this, and
- 23:25Speaker 5: resolve this quick. If you go through another couple of
- 23:27Speaker 5: weeks of the shutdown, it looks like the president doesn't
- 23:30Speaker 5: know what he's doing. Doesn't know look, and he's now
- 23:33Speaker 5: in a position where he's got to got to be
- 23:35Speaker 5: pretty much perfect in everything he does. From the forestable future.
- 23:41Speaker 5: One of the concerns I had as I went to
- 23:42Speaker 5: highway the end of the day, had his small crowd
- 23:45Speaker 5: seven other people, and he's got all he was supposed
- 23:49Speaker 5: to message about economy and how good things are. And
- 23:52Speaker 5: you know, he always gets distracted. He needs a script
- 23:56Speaker 5: in his head, not a necessarily script on a teleprompter.
- 24:00Speaker 5: But this is what I'm gonna talk about. I'm not
- 24:01Speaker 5: gonna talk about Ice. I'm not going to talk about Ukraine,
- 24:04Speaker 5: not going to talk about Iran. I'm gonna talk about
- 24:07Speaker 5: the American public and all the things that we have done.
- 24:10Speaker 5: He can do for the American public. That's what people
- 24:13Speaker 5: want to hear. He does that, and these trips are worthwhile.
- 24:16Speaker 5: If he doesn't do this, you have a small crowd
- 24:18Speaker 5: to go out there, and you have bigger crowds in
- 24:20Speaker 5: the opposition. It's not it's not a productive use of
- 24:25Speaker 5: his time.
- 24:26Speaker 1: You know, all the economic numbers are up. Everything's been
- 24:29Speaker 1: inflating down. You know, the economic stuff is great. He's
- 24:31Speaker 1: such a great salesman. Why is he so bad on
- 24:34Speaker 1: messaging this?
- 24:37Speaker 5: Well, I think to a certain extent he he's said
- 24:40Speaker 5: over and over again, this is what's happening. And I
- 24:43Speaker 5: think he probably doesn't mean this is as sexy as
- 24:45Speaker 5: it should be, as much fun as going after all
- 24:50Speaker 5: the other stuff. Yeah, he loves the international stuff. He
- 24:53Speaker 5: loves he loves to you know, this is it's pretty interesting.
- 24:57Speaker 5: You know, I work for Nixon, Ford, Reagan, a round,
- 25:01Speaker 5: boyish and then around another presidents ever since. Some like
- 25:07Speaker 5: the press, some don't like the press. Trump doesn't like
- 25:09Speaker 5: the press. He likes to taunt them to get them
- 25:12Speaker 5: in the Oval office and perform with his good friend,
- 25:16Speaker 5: whoever they go, the friend of the day maybe whatever,
- 25:18Speaker 5: the world leader. And most most Americans don't care about that.
- 25:21Speaker 5: What they care about right now is they're still not
- 25:23Speaker 5: sure about the economy. All I know is when they
- 25:27Speaker 5: go to the grocery store, their checks aren't going as
- 25:29Speaker 5: far as they used to. And that's the issue here.
- 25:32Speaker 5: And he's got a few months to get the solved.
- 25:36Speaker 5: Certainly it's still out there on terrafs and all the
- 25:39Speaker 5: rest of it is is for some reason, there's a
- 25:42Speaker 5: backslide that's kind of a big impact. He's got a
- 25:46Speaker 5: lot of members of Congress are very word and as
- 25:48Speaker 5: I've said on the show before, the first thing that
- 25:51Speaker 5: the Congress he cares about is not whether President or
- 25:53Speaker 5: Piggan has high approval numbers, is to do they have
- 25:56Speaker 5: high approval numbers? And are they going to get re elected?
- 25:58Speaker 5: As they get into this political process. You know, you're
- 26:01Speaker 5: not talking about the maximum probably is twenty five thirty
- 26:04Speaker 5: seats that you could lose. But it's a big difference
- 26:07Speaker 5: if you run the campaign well and get some benefit
- 26:10Speaker 5: out of it, and everybody's everybody's saying the same thing.
- 26:13Speaker 5: You have too many people in this administration saying their
- 26:15Speaker 5: own thing. And at the end of the day, you know,
- 26:19Speaker 5: it's disaster in Minnesota and the ice and all the
- 26:21Speaker 5: rest of it. Who's just really hurt him? And I
- 26:23Speaker 5: would basically not use her anymore if does on a fire,
- 26:27Speaker 5: just how I go do FEMA stuff. But at the
- 26:30Speaker 5: end of the day, you know he's he's not going
- 26:33Speaker 5: to get a good word back on ICE. ICE can't
- 26:36Speaker 5: do any more than they've done. We are basically getting
- 26:39Speaker 5: people who are illegally in the country out in the country,
- 26:42Speaker 5: with a lot of them dating the volunteer program to
- 26:44Speaker 5: fly back to their country and had to highlights a
- 26:48Speaker 5: lot of stuff, but most of all needs a highlight economy.
- 26:50Speaker 1: Yeah. So you know you can think about this very
- 26:53Speaker 1: clearly and simple and clear. I can do that. But
- 26:57Speaker 1: when you get elected and you're sitting there in that
- 26:58Speaker 1: oval office all day, are there like a thousand people
- 27:01Speaker 1: pulling in every direction and a million things as.
- 27:04Speaker 5: Clearly you need you need to have a team around,
- 27:08Speaker 5: and you know you don't have to you don't have
- 27:09Speaker 5: to be with anybody. I mean, at the end of
- 27:11Speaker 5: the day, you can have two or three advisors you
- 27:12Speaker 5: want to come in and tell you what you want
- 27:14Speaker 5: to hear, will tell you what you need, information you
- 27:16Speaker 5: need you control that environment. He kind of likes crouds,
- 27:21Speaker 5: you know. He when he gets in troubles these short
- 27:24Speaker 5: interviews where he's either on an Air Force one or
- 27:27Speaker 5: he's going the helicopter or what have you, and he
- 27:28Speaker 5: says something that you shouldn't be saying, or something that's
- 27:31Speaker 5: in or five o'clock in the morning. At three o'clock
- 27:34Speaker 5: in the morning when he gets up and he gets
- 27:35Speaker 5: on his h on his Twitter account. You know, you
- 27:40Speaker 5: gotta try and read a night of course, well wash
- 27:44Speaker 5: watch movies. Who are sports? Uh, there's a lot on
- 27:48Speaker 5: his plate and he's no one. No president has accumulated
- 27:51Speaker 5: as much power as he has. Nixon tried, as Lynda
- 27:55Speaker 5: Johnson tried. But he's done it. I think to a
- 27:58Speaker 5: certain extenting down He's use it. You know.
- 28:01Speaker 1: Uh, it's hard to keep in touch with the people,
- 28:03Speaker 1: like really have your finger on the pulse when you're
- 28:05Speaker 1: in the White House. So you can try to watch
- 28:08Speaker 1: your Fox News, you can try to watch the newscast,
- 28:10Speaker 1: you can, but I remember reading that Reagan like to
- 28:13Speaker 1: watch sitcoms like Roseanne because he would show him people's
- 28:16Speaker 1: lives and how they were.
- 28:18Speaker 5: So what does the.
- 28:19Speaker 1: President do to like, really really be in touch with people.
- 28:22Speaker 5: Well, he likes, he likes. He's a news jumpie, and
- 28:26Speaker 5: you know, he wants it all to be perfect, and
- 28:28Speaker 5: it's never going to be perfect. He listens to your show,
- 28:32Speaker 5: which is my friend Michael Goodwin's column and New York Post,
- 28:36Speaker 5: and you know. Yeah, even even Fox gets off of
- 28:41Speaker 5: us sometimes and you know, too much of that is
- 28:45Speaker 5: he sinks, you know, right, Reagan, Reagan was a very
- 28:49Speaker 5: secure man. Hagan. Hagan was someone who got dollars that
- 28:51Speaker 5: he the needs. And when he's a movie star, even
- 28:54Speaker 5: a lifeguard, you're heca college. Uh. Trump is still fighting
- 28:58Speaker 5: every day, fighting, fighting to get commission. I mean his
- 29:00Speaker 5: president of the state has been buck to twice. Uh
- 29:03Speaker 5: you know that to be enough for any man. But
- 29:05Speaker 5: you know the stupidity about the about the oh no
- 29:09Speaker 5: Bel Peace Prize, Yeah, peace Prize, It's just it's is ridiculous.
- 29:13Speaker 5: I mean, who cares. Uh, you know, there's uh the
- 29:17Speaker 5: fact that Obama got one of those first month in
- 29:20Speaker 5: office was it was a gift. Was it was mainly
- 29:23Speaker 5: a had done This president has has done some real
- 29:25Speaker 5: stuff and at the end of the day here he
- 29:27Speaker 5: will do some moral stuff again if he doesn't get distracted.
- 29:30Speaker 1: Well yeah, but Reagan, as you say, it was a
- 29:32Speaker 1: movie star. He was a happy guy. But when you're
- 29:34Speaker 1: a billionaire and you've worked a lot of these billionaires, uh,
- 29:37Speaker 1: they're fighters. They're always fighting there. That's how they became billionaires.
- 29:40Speaker 1: They're fighting, fighting, billionaires.
- 29:42Speaker 5: Yeah, Well, there's no president been surrounded by as many
- 29:48Speaker 5: billionaires as he is. They're in his cabinet, you know.
- 29:50Speaker 5: And and I think to a certain extent, uh, you know,
- 29:53Speaker 5: he didn't come in as a billionaire. He's now become
- 29:55Speaker 5: a billionaire. And I think to a certain extent of
- 29:57Speaker 5: chumulating money, uh is something that's important to him. Doing
- 30:02Speaker 5: deals is important to him. But what he's going to
- 30:04Speaker 5: do is make the country feel like they're benefiting every
- 30:07Speaker 5: every rain he does. And that's you know, it's it's
- 30:10Speaker 5: a challenge. It's a challenge every president has, but this
- 30:13Speaker 5: is a president once you know what we what are
- 30:16Speaker 5: we doing? Back in Pennsylvania, we argue in the stupid
- 30:18Speaker 5: ass actually six years ago. I mean that becomes a
- 30:21Speaker 5: news story today. What's he doing there? Why is he there?
- 30:25Speaker 5: And if you don't clearly lay out the why you're there,
- 30:28Speaker 5: which you shouldn't be, uh, talk about the future and
- 30:32Speaker 5: talk about people, talk about schools.
- 30:34Speaker 7: Uh.
- 30:36Speaker 5: Because he still has he still has a hero ball,
- 30:41Speaker 5: but it's still people love him. But Jenny pulls up
- 30:44Speaker 5: polarizing president. There's people like, hey, him. So when you
- 30:47Speaker 5: go to Iowa and you have seven hundred people. You
- 30:48Speaker 5: make a big deal out of going there and flying
- 30:50Speaker 5: Air Force one and what have you. And you have
- 30:52Speaker 5: in a very small stage. There's more people outside against
- 30:55Speaker 5: you than there are on a tourn for you. You
- 30:59Speaker 5: know that's not a good picture. At the end of
- 31:01Speaker 5: the day. Control as much of an as you can,
- 31:03Speaker 5: and you've he's got the big plane, you've got the
- 31:05Speaker 5: big staff. You can control. No one doesn't rallies well
- 31:08Speaker 5: that he does. Nobody does performances being what he does.
- 31:11Speaker 5: He needs to do it.
- 31:12Speaker 1: All right, Well, great stuff, great analysis, Ed Rollins, thanks
- 31:15Speaker 1: for being with us. We'll talk again soon.
- 31:17Speaker 5: My pleasure.
- 31:17Speaker 1: All right, take care, take care. Hey, don't forget coming
- 31:21Speaker 1: up at noon today. They do a wonderful show every day.
- 31:24Speaker 1: You're going to learn a lot. Listen to Buck Sexton
- 31:26Speaker 1: Clay Travis at noon today, then at three o'clock. You
- 31:30Speaker 1: got the most listened to radio show in America. And
- 31:33Speaker 1: there's reasons why it's the most listened to. Listening to
- 31:36Speaker 1: it today three o'clock Sean Hannity, then Jesse Kelly at six,
- 31:41Speaker 1: and every night at nine Jimmy Fala Boy, what a
- 31:44Speaker 1: great show. Really loves this show. It's got all kinds
- 31:47Speaker 1: of great guests and talk and topics, but it's also very,
- 31:49Speaker 1: very funny. He's also one of the great comedians, and
- 31:52Speaker 1: he'll be with us in the next hour. Jimmy Fail
- 31:55Speaker 1: at Tonight at nine on seven to ten wo
