🇫🇷 France to Deploy 70,000 Police as Students Vow to Continue Protests
France will deploy approximately 70,000 police officers and gendarmes nationwide on Saturday, October 24, as the government prepares for another wave of demonstrations following serious unrest the previous weekend.
Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez announced the security operation, which includes specialised police units, mounted officers, helicopters, drones, armoured vehicles and water cannon. Authorities say the measures aim to prevent further violence, vandalism and looting. The deployment is around 10,000 personnel larger than the previous weekend’s operation.
