[upbeat rock music] It's a nice catchy little riff. Till we get something better. I'm coming here with a very positive mental attitude.
0:17
Excellent. [upbeat rock music] [laughs] I guess we're back with the ch- show that's as disjointed as your grandmother's hip, man. Badang.
0:33
It's the Full Spectrum Cycling Podcast with Sven and JK. Hello, hello. And Tony Berger. Hola. [singing] Right on, right on, right on.
0:47
Hey, even though it's, uh, only been a couple weeks since our good friends have listened to us, [laughs] it's been longer than that since we've been in the studio- That-... our ownselves... that is true. That is true.
0:57
Where, where's the studio located again? From the magic of 826 East Locust Street in River West. Beautiful. Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Beautiful. River West. Everyday Cycling Podcast studio and bike emporium.
1:11
Things of that nature. And if you wanna get in touch with us on the show, you call that number: 717-727-2453. That's 2453, which means bike. Bike. Bike.
1:29
Cool. So, uh- Welcome back... what were we talking about? [laughs] Well, yeah. Well, hey, how's it going? I am back in the Milwaukee. Missed all the snow. Mm-hmm. Yeah, no, I didn't miss it all.
1:44
Oh, that's- At all [laughs]... you got back for the really big one. Well, plus the day I left was the other big one. Well, that's 'cause you left. So we sat for five hours in the airport waiting for the snow to,
1:54
uh, let us leave. [laughs] But, uh, yeah, you know, it was okay. I was actually happy to be back for the one that wasn't supposed to be big that turned out to be big. It was big. Big.
2:07
Yeah, you can't say we didn't get any snow this year here. Uh-uh. Uh- I was waiting for it. It was like- This damn farmer's almanac...
2:14
I'm, I, I was like, no, every year, February always unleashes something, and then you just don't know which one it's gonna be, and boom, boop, boop. So I'm not surprised.
2:25
A little startled at times, but- Yeah, had a couple- Yeah... pretty good rides out there in the white stuff. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Still, uh, dialing the Chumba Ursa Major in. I saw you- Did you... Where's that...
2:38
Oh, the book. The, the book. Where's the book? The book. The, the book. You didn't read the book. Did you read the book? The Unwritten Book of the Road? The Surly book? [laughs] The Intelligentsia? Oh, I have not.
2:49
This book. I was busy studying. This Lee McCormack book, this Dialed deal. So he's got this different way to fit bikes, and I decided to give it a whack on the, uh, on the Chumba
3:01
and lowered my bar, like, oh, I dunno, about a l- over an inch, maybe more, and it actually feels really good. Yeah. Kinda happy. Dialing it in. Dialing that thing right on in.
3:11
I believe I saw you riding to brunch after you had dialed that in. Yeah, I was out test riding it. Ah, nice. Little ice rink lap and couple other things.
3:20
[laughs] Since it was, uh, like, 10 to 10 when I left, and brunch was 10- At 10:00 [laughs]... [laughs] 10- It's, it's a whole block away... straight up 10 o'clock.
3:32
Yeah, that, well, it qualified for a ride on that day, so that was good. There you go. How about today, though? It's a little sloppy out there. It's a pretty messy, uh, ride. Yes, yes. Nice slush.
3:42
The heinie is still [knocks on wood] Moist... moist. Moist. Yeah, you know, with the, uh, uh, did we get... We've had a lot of snow, so- Yeah... now it's melting. Yeah. Today was a weird one. Mm-hmm.
3:55
Kind of a sleety, "Oh, hey, now it's a little bit of a snow globe. Oh, no, it's, now it's raining." Now it's raining. And it's just windy and uh. Yeah, it was, uh, it was cold when the Surly boys came and visited. Oh.
4:08
It was a little nipple. I guess we can't talk about the fancy thing until the next show- Yeah... 'cause technically Saturday you're gonna hear something.
4:15
That would be tomorrow if you're listening to this on Friday, but it's three days from now since- Yeah... it's Wednesday. We can't tell you, 'cause we promised we wouldn't.
4:21
Yeah, so Saturday look for a big announcement from Surly. Um, I can announce that we got some Surly bikes getting assembled right now, so- Yes... got some Low Sides, got some Karate Monkeys, got some Brid- Yeah...
4:35
the Bridge Club. Did you by chance ride a Karate Monkey? I did ride a Karate Monkey. I rode a Karate Monkey too. Mid suspension fork. Yes. Felt pretty good on the streets in the snow and that icy alley. Yeah?
4:45
That was pretty sketchy. Yeah, I did not do that. [laughs] I saw that alley and decided I would just ride through the snow. [laughs] Well, it just showed me how stable that bike is, yes. [laughs] Yeah, yeah, good stuff.
4:57
Uh, they left- Did you get a, uh, Midnight Special? I got one coming. Uh, it's in a box still.
5:03
For you viewers at home that don't know what that is, stop what you're doing, but keep listening- 'Cause he's about to ruin-... and Google Karate Monkey, or Midnight Special... Midnight Special by Surly Bikes.
5:14
It's a Road Plus bike. It's kinda nice. Got some big old tires on it. 650B rims. Beautiful. White. 4- 47s it can take, or bigger? It can take up to 60s, actually. Oh, 60s. Comes stock with 47s on it. Yeah, there we go.
5:32
Yeah, for our, I, m- mean, in, in this last three weeks and the snow globe and the freezing and the thawing and the thawing and the freezing and the cold and the warm and all this stuff- [laughs]...
5:40
there have been some major street renovations by nature. [smacks lips] Potholes- Yes... gravel, uh, [laughs] all sorts of- Oh, yeah...
5:49
nasty, um, potential pitfalls that, I dunno, I think a Road Plus bike might be your huckleberry in that kinda stuff pretty good. I mean, I'm riding 45s, so I guess I'm only two millimeters off. Right.
6:02
And I say thumbs up to that, daddy-o. Just, uh, kinda takes the edge off the potholes and the- Uh-huh... cracks and the- Keeps it down on the, on the road too. It cuts through the heavy ice and it's kind of a...
6:16
Yeah, every once in a while in the winter I like to ride a skinny bike for that reason. Yeah. Skinny tire. I mean, the fat bike gets ridden on the sidewalk and the yards and the alleys and the- Yeah...
6:27
other places that are- Parking lots... less encumbered by vehicles, like automobiles. Bridges. Bridges. I like that thing. [laughs] I like me my fat bike.
6:39
Yes, so we've been kinda trying to get onto the beach, but it's been so full of snow, haven't been happening. Up in, uh, Port Washington? I heard that it was good, but I'm not willing to drive up there on hearsay.
6:53
I want photographic evidence [laughs] and people who've actually- You hear that, Mike? Yeah, Mike, he keeps saying, "Come on up" - [laughs]... and I say, "Have you been out there?" And he said, "No, I heard it's good."
7:01
[laughs] So now I'm hearing it thirdhand, and I'm not gonna drive that far for thirdhand information. [laughs] Yeah, there's other reasons to drive up to Port Washington. Yeah, I suppose. But I agree.
7:15
Uh, I- It is some of the nicest beach riding when it's, when it's cold, though. What's the name of the, the, the meat shop? Bernie's. Oh, that's a good question. Bernie's Meats.
7:25
Something right on Main Street there, a water store- I just wait for either Lunds or, or Trusky to walk out with something that they'll hand me to eat. [laughs] And I love it. I just always- I watch the sights...
7:35
I, I always, I always end up, like, being there on a day that they're closed, and that it's so- Which is like Sunday at noon or something ridiculous- Yeah... like that. And it's so painful.
7:44
It's like, "Oh, that sounds so..." And you can just... All you can do is look through the window. [laughs] You can kinda smell it. You hold- [laughs]... scratch the door. Ah, drives me nuts. Short trip.
7:56
Uh, the- [laughs] Bernie's. Bernie's Fine Meats. Bernie's. Right on. Yep. My self Google actually worked. Right. Yahoo. Yeah, closed on Sundays, which is a lot of the time when we're up there riding.
8:07
Yeah, yeah, for sure. So right on. Well, there you go then. Not only are they not open on Sunday, they're closed. [laughs] Either the- I always-... pessimistic way or the optimistic way...
8:20
I just love it when Lunds comes out with a, one of them smoked pork chops. Oh. Pork, pork chops. He's like, "You gotta try this." I'm like- Oh, and happy birthday- Mr. Lunds... to Mr. Lunds. Yesterday.
8:31
I like how people on Facebook look at something from six years ago and goes like, "You must be having fun with Dave today." I'm like, "Six years ago today." Yeah.
8:38
[laughs] But not today per- [laughs] You know, it says right there, memory from six years ago. Was that the, uh, sombrero hat and the- Yeah... shot of tequila? Uh-huh. Yeah, I saw that.
8:47
Well, we were at, uh, we were at that very... What's that one called? Uh, Lindo? Slinto. Yeah, Slinto Lindo. Oh. Uh, we were there a couple weeks ago. Look, and their pictures are gone. Ain't no picture no more. Oh.
8:58
So, so that's a legacy photo now. Huh. Or they moved them or something. [laughs] I've, uh, not yet s- been to that establishment, but my tenant swears by it. Yeah, I stopped- I think it's, uh- When did I stop?... tasty.
9:12
Yeah, I stopped in there just recently, like a week or three ago. You know Alberto's. You're so close to Alberto. [laughs] You're so close to Alberto. [laughs] Yeah, that's the other part, yeah.
9:20
Yep, lots of choices in the old Mexican food here in Milwaukee, folks. When you come and visit, make sure you stop at one. Not to, not to- Oh, State of, State of the Union, that was it. Oh. 'Cause I found it...
9:32
It was amazing. [laughs] To watch the State of the Union now in Slinto Lindo? Well, having, having it on in a Mexican restaurant with the sound on and everyone, like, a lot of people just hanging and watching.
9:44
I, not exactly... I was like, wow, that is... Wow, this is not exactly the viewing party I was- Expecting... th- thinking that would occur anywhere. But yeah. And was that Slinto Lindo? Yeah. Nice. It was awesome.
9:56
Well, what if we get the DNC conference? I bet you all those restaurants are gonna get packed. Huh? Man, it was- 50,000 tourists for a week.
10:05
It was a really r- They're gonna rue the day they ever saw a fat bike, I'll tell you what. Man, we gonna be- It was a mini-... fat biking all over them... yeah, mini pitcher margarita special- [laughs]...
10:15
at that time too. Right. Didn't hurt matters. [laughs] Yeah, Mondays are good days for those kind of things. Yes. Or was it a Tuesday? Could be. I think it was a Tuesday. Taco Tuesday. Yeah.
10:29
Well, Tuesday was the State of the Union. [laughs] Mondays are Camino night. We're pitching places. Well, that, that's the funny part about Tuesdays. Uh, Alberto's closed. It's like- Ooh...
10:38
it's like, don't even wanna deal with the Taco Tuesday nonsense. [laughs] You guys are gonna go and do what you do. We'll be here. Come tomorrow. Yeah, man.
10:48
I'm looking at my companion from the airplane trip out to Las Vegas right there on the table. Would it be this right here? Yeah, Grant Petersen's Just Ride book. If you haven't read- It-... this book, you should read.
10:59
It was a good read. It's a- You know?... good, quick, fast read. Yeah, it, uh- I saw him when he spoke in Milwaukee. I think he signed this for me. Oh, yeah, look, he signed it for me. There you go. Yeah.
11:09
He's a good guy. Good sense of humor. He, you know, they approached him to write the book, and they're like, "We want 300 pages." He's like, "I'm not doing it." He's got- But, yeah...
11:20
several words of wisdom in there, though. Yeah, yeah, he does. It's, it's definitely- I like how... What does he... I like how he calls, uh, the BORAF. [laughs] The boring old ride across France.
11:31
Basically saying that, that racers are ruining cycling essentially. Yeah. For the average person. He has a lot of great words of wisdom, like, you know, if you have flat pedals, you ride your bike more
11:41
'cause you won't have to change shoes. [laughs] Damn right. It's like, that's kinda genius. [laughs] You can ride it in any un- You can ride them with any clothes on too. Yeah. You don't have to put fancy- Right...
11:49
special stuff on with billboard looking designs. Right. Just get on your bike and ride the damn thing. Yeah. Yeah. Get on your bike and ride. Today, though, special pants would be in order.
12:03
I'm wearing special pants today. [laughs] I- It depends on the weather... I am not And you're moist Yes. [laughs] And you're very moist. It was one of those where, yeah, I know- Oh, you got Showers pants on...
12:15
I have Showers pants on. I don't wanna go around with- Let me tell you-... screwing around. [laughs] Sh- Showers pants, Showers Pass pants are the, one of the best investments I've ever made. I have a pair somewhere.
12:25
They are so good. I don't know where they are, though. Oh. Maybe it's time to order a new pair. Well, but they're almost new, since I- Oh... I mean, I wear the Lou pans a lot more because
12:35
normally it's not soaking wet rain around here. It's- It's been soaking wet rain. Yeah, that wouldn't be- Recently... a good day to... The Lou pants don't quite- No, they don't, they're not seam-sealed. Nope.
12:45
And they can get moist. But they're awesome when it's colder out. Lou Binick, ladies and gentlemen. Yeah. What is his website again? I don't know, Fox? Foxwear. Foxwear.net or something..net. Look him up.
12:57
I can put that in the show notes if I remember or I listen- Yeah... to the show beforehand and take some notes on what we talked about [laughs] since I don't know what we're talking about.
13:07
Just maybe having an all-day IPA. Oh, yeah. 'Cause- Sponsored by Founders All Day IPA... or at least they could be if they- Yeah... listened to this podcast. There's room. Room, room, folks. You know?
13:19
Room for sponsorship. Perhaps you could, uh, supply us with a tamper. I'm just saying. Hmm. What else we got going? Hey, International Clash Day. That was pretty good. Pretty good. Yeah.
13:32
And I was very excited to see Paul Seabar started his show out with a Clash song this morning. Ah, yes. That was- So that was- Actually, he's been doing it for two years. A while. What? Yeah. [laughs] Every time?
13:44
Since- Do I just miss... I must tune in late... since, uh, the, uh, uh, election. Oh, of course he has. I've caught it a few times. [laughs] Yeah. Oh, Mr. Seabar.
13:57
So yeah, it, it, it's one of those at 9:00 when I tune in I'm g- like, "Okay, it is." Yeah, I'm late. That's, that's my problem- I, I, I'm like, okay... a lot of times, I'm always late to Seabar. It's like, damn it.
14:07
I'm not real keen on the show prior, that's all. It's like- Oh, yeah... a little late. Definitely. WWMSC, ladies and gentlemen. You can tune into that, uh- I- yeah... all over the dang old place. Yeah.
14:16
You don't even need to be on the radio. You can do it on the interwebs. WWMSC.org. Org. Listen live. Probably one of the best radio stations in the country. Oh, hell yeah. I would say. Easily.
14:25
I mean, you, there's stuff on there you just don't get any- anywhere else. If you're not into commercial radio, folks, give this one a go. Highly recommend it. Stream it after this show.
14:36
Yeah, or stream it with this show. Or- I was thinking how much this just needs, like, a music bed for this whole show, just kind of the little groovy tunes in the back, sort of- Dun, dun, dun, dun. Dun, dun, dun, dun...
14:45
yeah, something- Dun, dun... maybe African, um- Dun, dun... rhythms or something- Dun, dun, dun, dun... or, I don't know. Dun, dun. Sebar, he, he should, you know, he's always got something good going in the background.
14:57
Dun, dun. [Instrument vocalizing] Yeah. I like how he tries to pronounce things. It's great. [laughs] I saw him in, uh,
15:05
in Virginia Beach once, and he, he was playing the Bayou Boogaloo, and they were the only five people in the entire festival that were wearing pants.
15:13
[laughs] They showed up and not realizing that it was 110%- Oh, yeah... humidity, and they looked pretty miserable. In, in New Orleans? In, no, they were in, uh- Virginia Beach... we were in, we were in Virginia Beach.
15:24
Oh, Virginia Beach. Yeah. Yeah. That, that's, gets swampy. I- They were literally on the stage just pouring sweat. It was entertaining. And there is no shade. No. No. No, no.
15:35
Oh, now you make a, a yearly trek there, don't you? Yes, I do. JK makes a yearly trek- Yeah... to the old, uh- VA Beach... VA, and has, on more than one occasion, rented fatness- Yes, yes... whilst in that area.
15:46
Surprisingly, they do, and man, saltwater on- Oh. [laughs] It is insane. Even with the best of rinses, next morning, total rust. Rust. Total rust. It seemed like what you- It's amazing...
16:04
I noticed that in Costa Rica, too, at the- I was-... rental shop... I was so impressed. I mean, just, like, wow. I didn't, I would not have thought that, just right, like that... Ooh. Mm.
16:14
It seemed like, uh- But it's okay... the price you were paying for the rental was, a lot of it was just prepping the bike after you're done. Yeah.
16:20
It's like, "Oh, well, that's pretty cheap considering they basically have to overhaul the thing every [laughs]- Yeah, exactly. I know. I'm like, I'm like, "50 bucks for a day? Sure." Yeah.
16:28
And- That said- And I get to ram it right through the fricking ocean? Hell yeah. Insane. 'Cause I don't care. [laughs] Man. It's like, I, I don't have to- Don't buy that rental fleet.
16:38
[laughs] No, there are ways to mitigate that, but they're very expensive. Mm-hmm. Involve belt drives and titaniums- Roller... and such. [laughs] Yeah.
16:45
I get a feeling that they don't really- But then they're not a $50 a day rental. [laughs] Yeah. No, no, no. But I don't think they rent a lot of them anyways. No. That's better...
16:52
and they, probably most people just stay on the road or the paths and such and don't actually go down near the- Yeah... the great Atlantic. Mm-hmm. S- Those people. What, what were they?
17:04
They were- I, I totally wanna- Were they Konas or something? Uh, one year was a Kona. Yeah. And, uh, what was the... S- not, nah, it's, uh... La, la, la, la, la, la. Mm. Pop quiz. Yeah, [laughs] no doubt.
17:19
I can go through my phone. Hey, did you guys see these new coasters your beers are lying on? Yes. I was just admiring this. It threw me off. And they turn out really well. They did turn out really well.
17:27
These are Everyday Cycling, Everyday, [laughs] everydaycycles.com coasters. And- Which, by the way, my, uh, boss gave me shit because I posted one day that the, uh, Everyday Cycles wouldn't be open due to weather.
17:38
He's like, "Well, then it's not every day." Oh. Oh. Like, ouch. Whoa. That's harsh, dude. Someone's riding their bike every day. Back to Kona, whoa. Yeah. Kona whoa. [laughs] Whoa. Being a union cyclist. Whoa.
17:51
I am an FBI agent. So the, um- I'll dovetail there. [laughs] F- if anybody's looking for coasters, Sticker Monkey or Sticker Mule. Sticker Mule had a, like 50 of them for a really good price.
18:05
I don't know if they still have it going on, but it's like, well, I can do that for- Just send them a logo and they do it. Yeah Pretty cool. Then I called Tierra and I said, "Tierra, I don't have a round logo.
18:13
Can I have one by tomorrow?" And she said, um, "All right." So- Boom... it was very quick of her to- Boom... whip that right on up. Thanks, Tierra.
18:22
And I bought them one day, and they were at my house two days later, done, in a box, ready to go. Beautiful. Oh, that internet. Sticker Mule, baby. Sticker Mule. That internet. You need sticker stuff.
18:31
That thing is just crazy. They're, they're my go-to now instead of Vistaprint. Ooh. Sponsored by the Mule. The Mule. The Mule.
18:40
Speaking of, uh, belt drives and fanciness, that's a pretty nice looking bike behind you there. Yeah, well we're- How closer are we to, uh, getting that finished?
18:48
Oh, well, since I got, uh, a belt and a sprocket that work well together, it's about, uh... See those cables [laughs] there? It's that close, huh? Tuckin' those up and it's done. It's that close.
18:59
Yeah, I had that Rohloff, you know, in the little box. It's kind of a funky twist thing you do. It's like, all right, I'll do that tomorrow. I like that attitude. It's getting too close to showtime, so- Yeah.
19:10
That's gonna be a hot ride... uh, should be done tomorrow, though, is what it should be. That's gonna be a hot ride. Rohloff belt drive. Mm-hmm. Bonzy Nash. Schlick Schlick Cycles goodness. The Northpaw. The Northpaw.
19:25
Just a- Paw... it's a, it's a redo. It's a retrofit, a refit. That's it. I like it, though, with the green and the white wheels, the white rims. They, you know... And the black spokes.
19:38
That's a, that's a nice combination. So while I was out there in Vegas, I relearned my dislike for 29ers. Or the ribs. [laughs] I can laugh now. Yeah. Before, not as much.
19:53
[laughs] Uh, unlike the last time when I borrowed a, I borrowed a...
19:58
They're both Trek EX, Fuel EXs, just different years, and this was, like, a '16 that was a 29er with Pinare tires on it, like 2.2s or threes or something.
20:09
And then the time before that was a 27 plus with, like, three-inch tires. World of difference, especially on those trails out there that are a little kinda sandy and washed out-y. Yeah...
20:20
and I went off the first drop, and right away I kinda landed a little nose heavy and hit a bush. [laughs] A bush. And then we were cruising along, and I wasn't, just wasn't really, it wasn't r- I wasn't grooving on it.
20:34
And- Wasn't instilling confidence... well, then I washed out on something where I normally would have plenty of traction on bikes I'm used to riding now, and ended up with my elbow and my chest and hurting my ribs, and-
20:47
Oh. I don't know. I guess that's what happens when you fall down. I've, I don't think I've fallen mountain biking in, like, five years.
20:52
I've fallen plenty on the street, on the road, in front of cars, you know- [laughs]... after, after events that happen with things- Events... and a beer and stuff. Mm-hmm. But no, not on the mountain bike trails.
21:06
That's 'cause the bigger tires, to me, just are so much more confidence inspiring, and the traction and the things and the deals, and they go over stuff, and I don't fall down.
21:15
I fell down at almost zero miles per hour the other day, and my ribs still hurt. That's one that happens. Was that right by the park bench? Yeah, it was. I thought I saw a picture of that. Looked like a- It was...
21:23
little angel in the snow. Ouch. Or a rainbow in the dark. [laughs] Okay, just a... That's actually what they call the color of that Lowside, something like- Mm... Rainbow In The Dark- In the dark... I believe. Nice.
21:36
Black. Black. With, with speckley things. I'm kinda excited about that. I, I mean, I had a one by one rat ride back in the old days,
21:44
and, uh, this is sort of the modern take on it with a 26 by 3 tire and single speed and, uh- Is that a disc or is rim? It's disc, isn't it? It's disc. Yeah. Yeah. It's got- And it's got modern stuff.
21:56
It's got, you know, boost spacing, and it's got, uh, through axles and the other good things if you decided that you wanted to- Beat the shit out of it [laughs]... throw other parts at it.
22:06
You know, if you broke your aluminum frame, whatever you were riding, and you still have some parts from it- That's the... I did notice that was a good-... throw it right on there. Yep.
22:12
It's got a, it's a good parts bin bike. [laughs] Yeah, I mean, you can buy the frame only, so, or frame and fork, I guess, would be the frame set version.
22:21
And then you can throw your, your bin parts upon it, which has always been a Surly thing. Yeah. You know, basically adapt it to what you're doing, and, uh- Right...
22:30
you could even throw a freaking derailleur on the thing if you wanted to. I didn't think it had a derailleur. It's got a hanger. It doesn't have a derailleur. A derailleur. It's got a hanger.
22:37
It's got a derailleur hanger. Yep. Didn't cost them any more to put it on there, so they put it on there. Interesting. And, and in fact, the rear wheel is a cassette with spacers to make it a single speed.
22:46
It's not a single speed hub. On a kind, I don't think they make single speed hubs in boost spacing- Oh, there you go... with, you know, just a single cog.
22:55
Oh, you should make it a, a- You hear how the show just got all technical?... 70 speed. That's technical, folks. That's... Yeah. You should go with Friction and make it just a three-speed. Yeah. There you go.
23:04
Dial it in with just three, a three cog cassette. Think, think, think. I could, I could see that. Serious climbing. I'm gonna do a Eagle- High speed... a new SRAM Eagle 3X.
23:16
No, just three s- three gears in the back there. Yeah, exactly. Not in the front. Yeah, I was gonna say. Just... No. [laughs] What? [laughs] That's insane. Yeah, 3X would imply front, I guess, wouldn't it? Mm.
23:26
That would be silly. It'll be a one by three, is what I'm saying. I like that, a one by three. Derailleur-ed. I mean- I suppose you could dingle-... completely silly... speed it.
23:35
I don't see why you couldn't throw two cogs on there, like the, swap out the front and rears just to get your different ratios. Clickety, clickety. Well, that'd be kind- With no derailleur. Yeah. You know. Yeah. Yep. Mm.
23:47
That's a possibility. You could do all this with a Surly Lowside- Mm-hmm... and more.
23:52
And you can also, if you follow Greg at all, have this super annoying I've Got Friends in Low Places song in your head for the last two days. [laughs] Yes, sir.
24:00
Because I was whistling it on the way here, and I don't really like that song very much, folks. Nope, don't like that song. Nope, like it at all. Don't even know. Is he back? I heard he's back.
24:09
I haven't heard anything- Is he?... that he's done since he's back, though. Oh. I don't want him back. I didn't want him here in the first place. [laughs] There was a, uh, a network
24:19
event a few weeks back which threw me off, and I flipped it on, and I'm like, "What? Did I, like, step through a wormhole?" [laughs] Oh. Like that, no, it was just- Talk amongst yourselves.
24:30
I'll go replenish our beer supply from- Oh... Founders All Day IPA. Because it is all day. Yeah, is he suddenly relevant again? Like, no. No. It's like, uh- It's a money grab... it's like Chachi. Oh, yeah, yeah.
24:45
Chachi being involved, you know, Bio being involved in politics right now. I'm like, "No one cares about you anymore. No one cared about you when you were Chachi, and we care way less now. Go away."
24:56
Yeah, but when he was Charles in Charge, he was in charge. He, he was in charge. He should've still went away. [laughs] Do you think he's trying to get in good with Alyssa Milano?
25:05
'Cause she's all over the place in the politicking. Is she now? Oh, yeah. Maybe. Yeah, she was at some of the hearings for, um, Supreme Court Justice- Right... and just glaring at them. Like- Yeah...
25:17
she was glaring at him. I do recall that. Like U-T-O-S. You mentioned it. Yeah. That or the Monopoly Man- The gray guy... would pop in. [laughs] It was always awesome. I love the Monopoly Man that pops in on these.
25:30
[laughs] It's like, "We, we, we got the monocle." Perfectly on camera, thank you, C-SPAN. When I start [laughs] When I hit 60, I think I'll start sporting a monocle. Do you have to- I'm gonna take fat biking...
25:41
do you have to hold it in with your eye muscles? I think so. Yeah. Unless you have a- Yeah, you just gotta wedge it just right... unless you have a stick. You could have it on a stick. Well- Yeah, like Hopper glasses.
25:52
[laughs] Isn't that what the Planters peanut guy does? Yeah. I don't know. Yeah, yeah. Wow, this, this podcast goes in weird directions sometimes. [laughs] Hey, here's something I do know.
26:01
Uh, tomorrow, believe it or not, I guess the warm weather today maybe sped this up. We should be getting in spring and summer versions of club ride gear. Mm. It is the, the, the preseason order from- Club ride...
26:16
last year, but getting delivered this year. So not only do we have a bunch of, uh, cold weather stuff still, hey, anybody, 10% off that cold weather stuff if you say you heard it on the podcast.
26:28
Some of that's some pretty nice gear. And, uh, got this new, got the new stuff coming in for springtime too, which I don't know where the hell we're gonna put it. It's not like this place is big or anything.
26:40
But it's nice. We'll throw it all on the floor. Hey, here's a pile of stuff. Pick some of it up. Yeah, go for it. Yeah. Ooh, that'd be a good free-for-all action. That would be fun to watch.
26:49
That'd be recordable for another podcast. [laughs] I'm not sure how we'd, uh, price that. Depends on how well they do it. Yeah. Yep, that'd be a frenzy. Frenzy. Frenzy. Frenzy. Yeah. I would be- Frenzy...
27:06
I'm excited to see the, uh, club ride- Frenzy... summer gear. Frenzy. [laughs] Yeah, I don't know. We've made some pretty good picks in there, I think. I...
27:14
d- danged if it wasn't five months ago that we did it, but pretty sure there's something in there worth wearing. Usually from club ride there is. There's always something worth wearing with club ride.
27:22
Tony found a new pocket on his pants the other day. [laughs] I did. I checked to see if my phone fits in it. I totally didn't know it was there. I showed it to Greg. I'm like, "Check it out. It fits perfectly." Yeah.
27:35
[laughs] Nice. So if I had been less of a slacker and didn't wait till, like, 40 minutes before showtime to send Travis a note, uh, having... trying to get him to call us at 717-727-2453.
27:47
That's 717- He'd have called in but, uh- 27- Bike... bike. Hey, maybe next time we'll have Travis on. We haven't had a, a chat with our buddy from Alaska lately. That will be- Right on.
27:57
Oh, it's certainly gotta be more interesting than what we're talking about. [laughs] Um, I don't know. How goes the resolution, revolution? I... even with very bruised and sad ribs, I am continuing with the resolution.
28:12
Awesome. I have yet to miss a day. Making the revolutions? I had a friend come over, and we had a little bit... He, he thought that the other Founder's IPA was the All Day, so he got the full strength.
28:24
Oh, that's, that's an over seven, baby. That's over a seven. It's 7.7. [laughs] That's seven, seven on the old Richter scale. And, uh, I realized it was 10:30 at night and I hadn't ridden my bike yet.
28:34
I managed to keep the Riverside down, barely. Good deal. Good deal. So, yes. You, have you still? I- Fell off? I'm out. I'm out. [laughs] You fell off. I'm out. I did as much as...
28:48
and there are just times it just couldn't happen. Even when I... it couldn't happen, I jumped on the steed and rode through the living room. Oh, that's, that counts.
28:59
[laughs] For, for those of you listeners out there, I have made an insane New Year's resolution to ride my bike for 1,000 days. Oh, it's 1,000 days now. It's 1,000 days. Not just a, not just a year. No. Well, that's...
29:09
bye, crackie. Yeah, so- We should get Scott Dixon on someday 'cause I'm pretty sure he did 25 years straight- Every day... without missing a day. [laughs] Yes. Now- That's dedication... yep.
29:21
Yeah, we did some math one time. It was an insane amount of hours 'cause he puts in, like, 25,000 miles a year. That's pretty insane. Yeah. Yeah. Hey, we'll call him up one of these days. Uh, I don't know.
29:36
I guess that's, we killed our half hour. Well, it's always fun killing a half hour here. Yeah. Thought I might've had something else to talk about. Oh, you know what else? I, we...
29:44
well, we were watching Red Bull uh TV- Sebastian Bach is coming to- [laughs]... Trailer Park Boys: The Game. [laughs] Trailer Park Boys: The Game. God, uh- Easy money.
29:56
We're, we're working on getting cameras set up so people can look silly at us. Yeah, right? That'd be awesome.
30:01
If you're in the local area, I got the NBC Sports, uh, channel deal for all your fancy Spring Classic-type races now that cyclocross season's over pretty much. And we have a good- Oh... Mr. Hurry. Oh, hi y'all.
30:16
Oh, this was, uh, that's Crankworx from last year from, uh- [laughs]... Red Bull Television. Gotta have some cycling on the old, on the old big screen in a chapter. Yeah. Or a mouthpiece- Yeah... for a half hour.
30:28
How's it going? I, I think we should probably get- All I'm saying is I've been staring directly at the damn mouthpiece. [laughs] At, at his mouthpiece.
30:35
I bet that guy's really happy to have that mouthpiece from time to time. There we go. [laughs] Is that, is that better? That's even worse. [laughs] It doesn't look as good in slow motion, does it?
30:50
[laughs] He's Swedish, man. Don't worry about it. He's not gonna come over here and kick our asses or anything. [laughs] Yeah, next thing you know, he's gonna be here. Right? All right, folks.
31:02
Have a great evening or day, whenever you're listening to this podcast. [upbeat music] Ba, da, da, wa. Uh, okay, bye. Name's Mike. Bye. I like bike.
31:14
[upbeat music]
