- 0:02SPEAKER_00: We've had this male friend since college.
- 0:05SPEAKER_00: Um and we've always pretty much known we wouldn't really work as a couple because we're like completely different personalities.
- 0:12SPEAKER_00: Um but we were both single for a really long time.
- 0:14SPEAKER_00: So a few months back we decided to become like friends with benefits and just have some fun.
- 0:21SPEAKER_00: You know what I mean?
- 0:22SPEAKER_00: Well, I just found out I'm pregnant.
- 0:24SPEAKER_02: Ooh.
- 0:25SPEAKER_02: So what we're trying to do here is kind of help her figure out how to deal with this situation because there was no plans for a future coupling of these two.
- 0:34SPEAKER_02: I mean from either party.
- 0:36SPEAKER_02: Neither one.
- 0:37SPEAKER_02: And that's fine.
- 0:37SPEAKER_02: You guys both agree.
- 0:38SPEAKER_02: Hey, if you agreed on that, you might actually be able to make headway with the future of this.
- 0:43SPEAKER_01: And it sounded like, like in the full message, it sounded like she wants to keep the baby.
- 0:48SPEAKER_01: It's a matter of what's the messaging to him.
- 0:50SPEAKER_01: How are is she going to relay this to him and what's going to be next steps?
- 0:55SPEAKER_01: And uh we're gonna start with this one.
- 0:57SPEAKER_01: 11 uh let's see, 9118 says it's only fair to let him know as soon as possible, which is exactly what Scott and I said.
- 1:04SPEAKER_01: We agreed on that.
- 1:05SPEAKER_01: It's an agreement.
- 1:06SPEAKER_01: They both didn't exactly want this outcome, but the ball will now be in his court to decide how he wants to handle the situation.
- 1:14SPEAKER_01: Now that's interesting because then we have somebody on the opposite end who says, this is from uh 9927, no matter what happens, this man has no decision.
- 1:25SPEAKER_01: And if that baby is born or not, we have to stop acting acting like this is a team decision.
- 1:31SPEAKER_02: Okay, I'm I guess I'm I I have to question that.
- 1:34SPEAKER_02: Does that stem from a personal experience, you know, uh for that person, that text of that?
- 1:40SPEAKER_02: You know, did they feel as though uh maybe they were in a very similar situation and the uh person they were with maybe it didn't work out and they continued to have the child, and then instead of working out a you know, a situation, uh whatever that would look like, immediately went to support court and said, take him for 17% until that kid's 21.
- 2:02SPEAKER_02: Well, I think I think there are there are big feelings that come into play, and I'm now speaking to the large, largely, not 100%, largely the male population of our listening base.
- 2:15SPEAKER_02: Uh, quite a few of you probably have been in a situation where you get a little bit bitter because, well, you whether you wanted to have the child or you didn't originally, you're paying for it.
- 2:27SPEAKER_02: And there are feelings that go with that.
- 2:29SPEAKER_02: And unfortunately, that can be difficult.
- 2:31SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna be very honest about something, and maybe because I'm adopted, I make this statement.
- 2:37SPEAKER_02: Since okay, we agree, she's gotta tell them right away.
- 2:40SPEAKER_02: I would seriously consider adoption.
- 2:42SPEAKER_02: You have no idea how many families are out there that are desperate and would give a child an amazing future.
- 2:50SPEAKER_02: Then think about this.
- 2:51SPEAKER_02: I know I've I've never given someone up for adoption.
- 2:54SPEAKER_02: I mean, I was the adopted one.
- 2:56SPEAKER_02: Yes, but the chosen one.
- 2:58SPEAKER_02: I don't know how the feelings go for, like, say, mom.
- 3:00SPEAKER_02: I mean, it sounds like maybe the father would be very excited in this and they could work it out together.
- 3:06SPEAKER_02: And like you said, you should come up with a contract that basically keeps you, you know, from having to go through problems down the line.
- 3:13SPEAKER_02: But there are so many families that are desperate for a good situation.
- 3:17SPEAKER_01: And I and I feel that, but especially because they have been friends for so long.
- 3:22SPEAKER_01: There is this part of me that is hopeful that they can come up with a solution.
- 3:26SPEAKER_01: Also, it sounds like she does want to keep this child.
- 3:30SPEAKER_02: It sounds, but is that a reaction that happens a lot of times, nine out of ten times, maybe 98 out of 100 times, your first reaction is, I'm pregnant, I want to keep the kid.
- 3:41SPEAKER_02: You know, I mean, you you think that, or you've, or you were raised, that's the obligation I have now.
- 3:45SPEAKER_02: The truth of the matter is a great option is in front of you right now.
- 3:50SPEAKER_02: And it keeps you guys off the hook from being if this worked out great, if this worked out where he was like, Oh my god, this is super exciting, and I will always be in their life, and we can work out the financial matters so we don't have to have this be a bitter situation.
- 4:06SPEAKER_02: Great.
- 4:07SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 4:07SPEAKER_02: That's a one in a million thing that happens, right?
- 4:10SPEAKER_02: But at the same time, you know, it there are there's such positive that could come from this, and I honestly think she doesn't have to feel trapped, because I'm sure there's a piece of it that does uh that she does.
- 4:22SPEAKER_02: He doesn't have to feel trapped.
- 4:24SPEAKER_02: And this wasn't a situation, they both went into this knowing this could happen.
- 4:30SPEAKER_02: This this is a very, you know, of course, this was not one of these like, oh, surprise, you know.
- 4:37SPEAKER_01: Well, obviously, what 9927 means in this is because it sounds like she wants to involve him and wants to uh I would say hopefully in a unified way raise a baby.
- 4:48SPEAKER_01: But what I think they're ultimately saying is you're right, if she decides to keep it, there is no real decision anymore.
- 4:56SPEAKER_01: It is, hey, I'm keeping it, right?
- 4:59SPEAKER_01: I don't care what you say, which is something that that ultimately can happen.
- 5:04SPEAKER_02: I I wish I hope she looks at this in the biggest picture possible and thinks about.
- 5:09SPEAKER_02: I mean, she sounds pretty young.
- 5:11SPEAKER_02: I'm not saying being young doesn't mean you have something established in your life, but if you're pretty young, you got a lot going on in front of you.
- 5:17SPEAKER_02: You've got uh a career, you've got uh the you know, th you want to travel maybe a little bit, things like that.
- 5:24SPEAKER_02: I'm not saying the kid is gonna be your anchor, but maybe this is a situation that you know, if you're just not ready, you don't have to be ready.
- 5:33SPEAKER_02: You have good options.
- 5:34SPEAKER_02: Hold on, we got another text we'll get to after this.
- 5:37SPEAKER_02: Three, two, one.
- 5:39SPEAKER_02: You're listening to Scott and Allie.
- 5:41SPEAKER_02: Scott and Allie's big three.

- 5:59SPEAKER_01: The White House said it'll feature top past moments and announcements.
- 6:03SPEAKER_01: And this is right after the White House television press pool said, yeah, we're not gonna cover President Trump's events after he did he borrowed some outlets.
- 6:10SPEAKER_01: Like it first started with three, and then everyone else came to the table too.
- 6:14SPEAKER_01: ABC was bowing out, CBS, MB, I mean MSNBC.
- 6:18SPEAKER_01: They all were like, nah, we're gonna stand in solidarity with our other reporters.
- 6:23SPEAKER_01: Several experts and publications, like the New York Post, say it's essentially a form of state TV.
- 6:31SPEAKER_01: And you may not know this name, but you will now.
- 6:34SPEAKER_01: Wilbur Rafael Garcia Perez was the Venezuelan man who was shot by an ICE officer in Austin during a traffic stop.
- 6:42SPEAKER_01: We talked about this yesterday while he was working as a door dash driver.
- 6:46SPEAKER_01: He says he is in significant pain with a bullet still lodged in his back, and advocates allege he was taken into federal custody within four hours of surgery.
- 6:54SPEAKER_01: He has no criminal history uh beyond undocumented status, though.
- 6:58SPEAKER_01: And three workers were shot yesterday morning at a senior living facility in South Los Angeles after a fellow employee allegedly opened fire.
- 7:08SPEAKER_01: Police say the shooting happened shortly before 11 a.m.
- 7:11SPEAKER_01: in the lobby.
- 7:11SPEAKER_01: And the victims, a man in his 60s, two women in their 40s and 70s, were taken to a hospital.
- 7:18SPEAKER_01: One was critically injured while the other two are in stable condition.
- 7:21SPEAKER_01: Officers found the suspected gunman, a male employee in his 60s, on another floor and arrested him.
- 7:28SPEAKER_01: None of the facilities, more than 100 residents, were injured.
- 7:31SPEAKER_01: And there's the big three.
