Latest / Do You F*cking Mind? / 2025 Rebrand & Glow Up Day 9: We are leaving the past in the past
Transcript
- 0:14Speaker 1: Hello, my beautiful beans, Welcome to day nine of our
- 0:17Speaker 1: ten day life. Just becoming a fucking icon of life.
- 0:24Speaker 2: Day nine.
- 0:25Speaker 1: So this I'm just diving straight into it because I
- 0:28Speaker 1: promise to make these shortened sweets.
- 0:29Speaker 2: I'm gonna command to the promise.
- 0:32Speaker 1: This one is about leaving the past in the past,
- 0:36Speaker 1: and I'm just trying to give you a bit of
- 0:38Speaker 1: a pep talk, a bit of a way of framing
- 0:41Speaker 1: your mind and how you look at things to really
- 0:43Speaker 1: be able to leave the past in the past.
- 0:44Speaker 2: Okay, because anything that you do that is favoring.
- 0:49Speaker 1: The you of the past over the you of the
- 0:52Speaker 1: future is keeping you in the past.
- 0:55Speaker 2: Okay. Now, the past doesn't have to be all bad.
- 0:58Speaker 1: There's a lot of things in my past that really
- 1:01Speaker 1: served me for that time in my life or for
- 1:03Speaker 1: that season, but it's not necessary to bring it forward.
- 1:06Speaker 2: It's not like I have to get rid of everything
- 1:09Speaker 2: unhealthy and everything toxic.
- 1:10Speaker 1: While a lot of that is, well, a lot of
- 1:12Speaker 1: what I'm referring to is things that aren't good for
- 1:14Speaker 1: you or aren't but a lot.
- 1:16Speaker 2: Of the things that I'm referring to also.
- 1:17Speaker 1: Keep you stagnated in stagnation station. Okay, and we don't
- 1:24Speaker 1: want to be there. We want to be moving forward.
- 1:27Speaker 1: We want to be entering our new era. It's impossible
- 1:30Speaker 1: to rebrand if you're holding onto the old brand. Okay,
- 1:35Speaker 1: you have to be able to let go, and you
- 1:39Speaker 1: also have to be willing to allow a part of
- 1:42Speaker 1: your old self, whether it's routine behaviors, things that you
- 1:45Speaker 1: used to do, whatever it is, you have to allow
- 1:48Speaker 1: that thing to die and to mourn it and be
- 1:52Speaker 1: at times, maybe not for everything, be like, Okay, I'm
- 1:55Speaker 1: thankful for that. It just doesn't serve me anyone, But
- 1:57Speaker 1: I'm thankful for that time and what it serves me
- 1:59Speaker 1: to be able to move on.
- 2:00Speaker 2: You have to create space for the new, all right.
- 2:04Speaker 1: If I want to refurbish my home, I can't keep
- 2:07Speaker 1: all the old furniture and just bring in new. It
- 2:11Speaker 1: will look fucked, okay, There'll be no sense of style.
- 2:16Speaker 1: No one would compliment me on my daycore. So I
- 2:19Speaker 1: would have to eliminate the old, get rid of it, donated,
- 2:23Speaker 1: do whatever, and then clean slate bring in the new.
- 2:26Speaker 1: So that's kind of what we're gonna look at. But
- 2:28Speaker 1: I wouldn't get rid of everything in my home, would I.
- 2:30Speaker 1: I'd still keep the things.
- 2:31Speaker 2: That still work. I'd keep my beautiful fiddlely figs, I'd
- 2:33Speaker 2: keep the things that I like, so you don't have
- 2:35Speaker 2: to get rid of everything.
- 2:36Speaker 1: So that's how I want you to look at the
- 2:38Speaker 1: old you, things that don't serve you.
- 2:40Speaker 2: Versus the new youth sense sense.
- 2:50Speaker 1: When we talk about taking a leap, we often think, Okay,
- 2:55Speaker 1: I'm gonna wait for everything to be lined up and ready,
- 2:57Speaker 1: and then I'm gonna take that leap. We don't want
- 2:59Speaker 1: to high up loose ends until there's a new beginning
- 3:04Speaker 1: right there within my grasp. And the reason for that
- 3:07Speaker 1: is because of course we're afraid. We don't want to
- 3:10Speaker 1: be uncomfortable. We're scared of the unknown. We just don't
- 3:13Speaker 1: like what it represents, or we're worried that things aren't
- 3:16Speaker 1: going to work out. We g ourselves up and talk
- 3:20Speaker 1: ourselves out of so many things, so we're like, well,
- 3:24Speaker 1: until that thing is there on the horizon, I'm not
- 3:26Speaker 1: why let go of this kind of stuff here all right?
- 3:29Speaker 1: Why let go of this routine or this behavior or
- 3:32Speaker 1: this job or this whatever it is, this.
- 3:36Speaker 2: Home that I'm living in, this whatever.
- 3:39Speaker 1: But the problem is, unless you create that space, the
- 3:43Speaker 1: likelihood of that thing being within your grasp is pretty low. Okay,
- 3:47Speaker 1: because you're in this old routine. You're not exposing yourself
- 3:51Speaker 1: to new things. You're not exposing yourself to new experiences
- 3:54Speaker 1: that are going to equal growth, that are going to
- 3:56Speaker 1: get you to that new place.
- 3:57Speaker 2: All right, So we this idea of taking a leap.
- 4:03Speaker 1: The point of it being a leap is because it
- 4:06Speaker 1: is scary. It represents somewhat of the unknown. Otherwise it
- 4:09Speaker 1: wouldn't be a leap of faith. You can't actually be
- 4:12Speaker 1: taking a leap of faith if you're going from one
- 4:14Speaker 1: safe thing to be like, oh, that's a sure thing
- 4:16Speaker 1: and done.
- 4:17Speaker 2: That's not a leap of faith. Where's the faith? You
- 4:19Speaker 2: had the proof that it was there, and then you did.
- 4:21Speaker 1: The point of a leap of faith is to be like,
- 4:23Speaker 1: I am going to really be able to be like,
- 4:25Speaker 1: I've got to cut ties with one thing in order
- 4:29Speaker 1: to move on to the other thing.
- 4:30Speaker 2: Now.
- 4:33Speaker 1: I know a lot of you are thinking, well, you know,
- 4:35Speaker 1: why do I want to let go of something that's
- 4:36Speaker 1: serving me? But I'm talking a lot about things that
- 4:38Speaker 1: might not be serving you either, And then you might
- 4:40Speaker 1: be saying, well, Alex says, why the fuck would I
- 4:42Speaker 1: want to hold onto something that is painful or that's
- 4:44Speaker 1: not serving me, Because even letting go of pain can
- 4:50Speaker 1: be difficult because of the comfort.
- 4:52Speaker 2: That it represents.
- 4:54Speaker 1: Okay, So an example, if this is revisiting old wounds
- 4:59Speaker 1: because of nostalgia, or revisiting your ex's social media pages
- 5:06Speaker 1: because you kind of like ripping up that wound. You're hurt,
- 5:10Speaker 1: you're just trying to find comfort, or you're trying to
- 5:12Speaker 1: find answers, you're trying to find closures. You keep revisiting, revisiting,
- 5:16Speaker 1: the thought of acknowledging that something's done and over and
- 5:20Speaker 1: that time in your life is now finished, and needing
- 5:23Speaker 1: to move on is so scary that we'll stay stuck
- 5:26Speaker 1: in these loops and these patterns that hurt us even more.
- 5:30Speaker 2: So, that's what I mean about needing to let go
- 5:33Speaker 2: of this pain.
- 5:34Speaker 1: It's scary to be in the open unknown, where all
- 5:37Speaker 1: the hard work is on you, where all the recovery,
- 5:40Speaker 1: where all the healing.
- 5:42Speaker 2: Journey is on you and no one else but only you,
- 5:44Speaker 2: because you can do it. That's scary. So we think,
- 5:46Speaker 2: while put that off, I'll wait.
- 5:48Speaker 1: Maybe they're going to change their mind, Maybe things will
- 5:50Speaker 1: go back to how they used to be. And maybe
- 5:52Speaker 1: things could go back to how they used to be.
- 5:54Speaker 1: But do you want to wait and waste potentially weeks, months,
- 5:58Speaker 1: years of your life wait and hoping that things turn around?
- 6:01Speaker 2: Or are you going to be that opportunity has come
- 6:04Speaker 2: and gone.
- 6:04Speaker 1: It's done, it's finished, and I've got to actually like
- 6:07Speaker 1: it's finished. In order for me to move on with
- 6:09Speaker 1: my life. I've got to actually like that career is
- 6:10Speaker 1: not going to happen for me anymore. And if I
- 6:12Speaker 1: sit and wait and hope while it's causing me so
- 6:15Speaker 1: much pain, versus if I take the reins and be like,
- 6:18Speaker 1: let's rebrand, let's turn things around. Let's say, if I
- 6:20Speaker 1: sit here and I'm constantly you know, looking up my
- 6:23Speaker 1: ex's past to get answers, to get this, to get that,
- 6:26Speaker 1: instead of being like, in order to actually feel happy again,
- 6:29Speaker 1: in order to actually move on, I need to go
- 6:32Speaker 1: cold turkey. I need to be the bigger person for
- 6:35Speaker 1: my sake. Nothing to do with them, but I need
- 6:37Speaker 1: to severtize, block them, remove them as a follower, stop
- 6:44Speaker 1: like going into the past. I've got to tell people
- 6:46Speaker 1: around me, don't bring it up unless I tell you
- 6:49Speaker 1: that I want you to bring it up, but just
- 6:50Speaker 1: do not be bringing it up without my consent all
- 6:53Speaker 1: these things because I'm like I need to that's going
- 6:56Speaker 1: to be in the past if I want.
- 6:58Speaker 2: To move on.
- 6:59Speaker 1: Why am I bringing my ex, my baggage, my other
- 7:03Speaker 1: shit into my everyday reality.
- 7:04Speaker 2: Every day you wake.
- 7:05Speaker 1: Up, you have the chance to move into a new
- 7:10Speaker 1: stage of your life. And I'm not just talking about
- 7:12Speaker 1: break ups here, but breakups in one of them.
- 7:14Speaker 2: I'm talking about it.
- 7:15Speaker 1: No matter where you're at in your life, every day
- 7:17Speaker 1: represents a potential reset, a potential fresh start.
- 7:22Speaker 2: But we are like why I could tempting, but no,
- 7:27Speaker 2: thank you.
- 7:27Speaker 1: I'm just gonna bring up shit from my past and
- 7:29Speaker 1: bring it into my awareness and waste all this time
- 7:31Speaker 1: that I'll never get back and stock stock stock stock
- 7:34Speaker 1: stock stalk stock.
- 7:35Speaker 2: I'm gonna feel shit about myself. I'm gonna cry, I'm
- 7:37Speaker 2: gonna feel really bad.
- 7:38Speaker 1: I've just chosen to bring up these emotions like I've
- 7:41Speaker 1: literally dug up an old wound.
- 7:43Speaker 2: I've ripped the scab of this old world.
- 7:45Speaker 1: Now I'm bleeding. Now, I'm really upset. Now I'm really hurt.
- 7:47Speaker 1: And then I wonder why I'm not getting over it.
- 7:50Speaker 1: Why I'm not meeting anyone else, Why I'm not starting
- 7:53Speaker 1: to feel better about my single life. Because I've just
- 7:56Speaker 1: caused myself torture, That's why. And there's only so much
- 8:00Speaker 1: my brain can do. We think that our brains are
- 8:03Speaker 1: against us at all times, but our behaviors are pretty
- 8:06Speaker 1: against us too.
- 8:07Speaker 2: Like you know, we're not.
- 8:08Speaker 1: You've got to give you your brain the best opportunity
- 8:11Speaker 1: at moving on and taking a leap of faith and
- 8:15Speaker 1: being daring and putting themselves out there and all of that.
- 8:17Speaker 1: And by doing that, like, in order to do that,
- 8:20Speaker 1: we've got to be pretty fucking strict with ourself. So
- 8:22Speaker 1: when you start identifying what do I need to leave
- 8:25Speaker 1: in the past, I don't care if it represents comfort
- 8:27Speaker 1: what doesn't serve me, because comfort and serving you are
- 8:32Speaker 1: two separate things. Sometimes they align, sometimes they don't align.
- 8:37Speaker 1: Sometimes what gives us comfort in the moment is very detrimental,
- 8:41Speaker 1: very detrimental in the long term, whether it's a substance,
- 8:44Speaker 1: whether it's a behavior, whether it's a compulsion to check
- 8:47Speaker 1: your X, whether it's always living in the past in nostalgia,
- 8:50Speaker 1: thinking that the glory days are behind you.
- 8:53Speaker 2: That kind of comfort can be.
- 8:55Speaker 1: Very damaging for your current self, for your self love,
- 8:58Speaker 1: for your confidence with you within your abilities about your future,
- 9:01Speaker 1: for how optimistic you about your future. And it's also
- 9:03Speaker 1: damaging for your future self because it's keeping you in
- 9:05Speaker 1: your old self, in the old life. Okay, because everything
- 9:10Speaker 1: you are right now is just a summation of your past.
- 9:14Speaker 1: You are currently a representation of the past because all
- 9:20Speaker 1: your actions, behaviors, interactions, relationships has led to this point.
- 9:23Speaker 1: If you want to change what next week is going
- 9:26Speaker 1: to look like and what in six months time is
- 9:27Speaker 1: going to look like, you've got to start acting differently now.
- 9:31Speaker 2: Okay, that's the only way it's going to change.
- 9:33Speaker 1: You're going to be like, oh, I want six months
- 9:34Speaker 1: to look different, so I'm going to start changing what
- 9:37Speaker 1: I do in six months. No, sis, No, You've got
- 9:40Speaker 1: to start doing it now, because if in six months time,
- 9:43Speaker 1: you're going to look like what the last few months, weeks,
- 9:46Speaker 1: whatever has looked like. So the change has to start now,
- 9:50Speaker 1: and you've got to be able to leave the past
- 9:52Speaker 1: in the past.
- 9:53Speaker 2: So I want you to identify what.
- 9:56Speaker 1: Is just comfort and is good for me, and what
- 9:58Speaker 1: is comfort and isn't good for me, and what's confident
- 10:01Speaker 1: isn't good for me is gone in the bill, in
- 10:04Speaker 1: the bin, in the trash, in the pubel.
- 10:08Speaker 2: Okay, gone. So if you need to write it down,
- 10:12Speaker 2: write it down.
- 10:13Speaker 1: If you need to grab a little booklet and be like,
- 10:15Speaker 1: all right, I'm going to write like a column of
- 10:16Speaker 1: like good comfort and bad comfort. Or you might already
- 10:19Speaker 1: have the answer in your head. You might be like,
- 10:20Speaker 1: I know exactly what Alexis is talking about. She's looking
- 10:23Speaker 1: down the barrel of the fucking camera right now, and
- 10:25Speaker 1: I'm watching this video, and I'm being targeted right now,
- 10:29Speaker 1: and she's looking into my soul, and I know exactly
- 10:31Speaker 1: what that is.
- 10:32Speaker 2: It is this.
- 10:32Speaker 1: I need to stop stalking my ex I need to
- 10:35Speaker 1: by stalking, I mean going through their socials. I need
- 10:37Speaker 1: to stop reminiscing on this time. I need to stop
- 10:40Speaker 1: kicking myself about this stupid business decision that I made
- 10:44Speaker 1: that hasn't served me. I need to stop living and regret.
- 10:49Speaker 1: I need to stop all these things. If I take
- 10:52Speaker 1: this shit into my future, my future is going to
- 10:55Speaker 1: look exactly the same as my current self right now.
- 10:57Speaker 1: If I'm thrilled with my current self, keep doing what
- 10:59Speaker 1: you're doing. If I'd like changes to happen, I need
- 11:01Speaker 1: to get rid of certain things. And like I said,
- 11:03Speaker 1: it's not a leap of faith. If you've got a
- 11:05Speaker 1: sure thing there, You've got to let go of something
- 11:07Speaker 1: in order to create space in order for you to
- 11:10Speaker 1: look at new possibilities, and then you take that leap.
- 11:13Speaker 1: That's what you're going to do, all right. That is
- 11:15Speaker 1: all for the episode of today. Hopefully it's given you
- 11:18Speaker 1: some food for thought. It's helped you kind of realize
- 11:20Speaker 1: where your head is at and where you want to see,
- 11:22Speaker 1: like real fucking change, and what you're actually going to
- 11:25Speaker 1: get rid of. We are cutting the dead weight. Tomorrow
- 11:28Speaker 1: is the last day of the last ten days. If
- 11:30Speaker 1: you've been writing this down, which I hope you have,
- 11:32Speaker 1: please revise your notes and go over it and refresh
- 11:35Speaker 1: all the different topics that we've spoken about the last
- 11:37Speaker 1: ten days, because it's going to be all nine days
- 11:39Speaker 1: as of today, because it is honestly going to be
- 11:41Speaker 1: so helpful for you to like hit the ground running
- 11:44Speaker 1: this year.
- 11:44Speaker 2: Guys. That is all for today. I love you guys
- 11:46Speaker 2: so much.
- 11:47Speaker 1: As always, please remember be kind to yourself, be kind
- 11:49Speaker 1: to your brain. Don't take shit from anyone, and especially
- 11:52Speaker 1: don't take shit from yourself.
- 11:54Speaker 2: Dunker
