- 0:00Speaker 1: You're never going to tear Kesey Epuric apart from her
- 0:03Speaker 1: chook because on the weekend, keesy Epuric, the member for Goida,
- 0:07Speaker 1: joins me in the studio. Right now, Kezia, this is
- 0:10Speaker 1: an incredible story. Your chook on the weekend was being
- 0:14Speaker 1: taken by a snake.
- 0:15Speaker 2: It was, oh, let me turn the right microphone on
- 0:17Speaker 2: for you first. There we go.
- 0:18Speaker 3: He hi, Katie, it was the chuck was gone. We
- 0:21Speaker 3: were in my house. There was myself, Lisa, my mother
- 0:25Speaker 3: was there. She'd come up for a feed, my sister
- 0:27Speaker 3: Plexi you know, sundown's coming when the jobs are done
- 0:29Speaker 3: and get a free feed, and my niece Brioni and
- 0:32Speaker 3: we were just minding her own business whatever, and we
- 0:34Speaker 3: heard this all mighty squawk and you know straight away
- 0:37Speaker 3: it's a chook being strangled. So we shot out like lightning.
- 0:42Speaker 3: Blacksie and Lisa went down to the chook you had
- 0:44Speaker 3: with the torches. I went over here to get gloves,
- 0:46Speaker 3: I know, Brianni went to get a pillow case because
- 0:47Speaker 3: that's the usual catching implements for chock's in the Royal Air.
- 0:51Speaker 3: And it was a big bloody water python and they're
- 0:54Speaker 3: a bit feisty. They're not super friendly, you know, they're
- 0:57Speaker 3: not venomous, but they're a bit feisty, and Plexi corner.
- 1:00Speaker 3: She just pounced on its head and we ran down
- 1:03Speaker 3: and this poor chalk had just put out its one
- 1:06Speaker 3: wing and done its last flat. So we picked as
- 1:09Speaker 3: a black hen, and thank god it was en. If
- 1:11Speaker 3: it was a rooster, might have let it go. Sorry fowlers. Anyway,
- 1:16Speaker 3: so we brought on the van and now I had
- 1:18Speaker 3: it took before about ten years ago, a little silky head.
- 1:23Speaker 2: I just can't say that in a sentence, A little
- 1:25Speaker 2: silky head. It was also being strangled by a python.
- 1:28Speaker 3: Anyway, so we put up. I said, come on, BRIONI
- 1:30Speaker 3: need and we're gonna bring this back, you know. So
- 1:32Speaker 3: she does this little pumpump bump bump bump on the
- 1:34Speaker 3: heart and I opened his little beak and her beacon.
- 1:37Speaker 3: I went, oh, no touching.
- 1:40Speaker 2: You didn't put your mouth over No, I.
- 1:41Speaker 3: Didn't want to ressussinate that much. Anyway, So we kept going,
- 1:46Speaker 3: I reckon. We went for a good five minutes, and anyway,
- 1:48Speaker 3: Plexi lasted disposing of the snake in this in the
- 1:51Speaker 3: pillow case, and so we kept doing it, and you know,
- 1:55Speaker 3: we sort of thought, well, the theory is same as
- 1:57Speaker 3: humans roughly, So we tried from our five minutes and
- 2:00Speaker 3: we didn't really get any response. I said, oh, well,
- 2:03Speaker 3: put it on the nice rug. You know, I had
- 2:05Speaker 3: a good life, and Brione wasn't prepared to give up
- 2:08Speaker 3: on this little mutt. So she went over and she said,
- 2:10Speaker 3: oh easy, I think it's still breathing.
- 2:12Speaker 2: Oh shit, is it? Oh quick, back on the table.
- 2:14Speaker 3: Bump bump, bump, bump, bump blom. Anyway, we sort of
- 2:22Speaker 3: kept moving it and moving it around. It's about it's
- 2:24Speaker 3: a medium sized toug it wasn't it wasn't a bantam.
- 2:27Speaker 3: It wasn't a big monster one anyway. So you roughly
- 2:29Speaker 3: just push it onto put in the chest somewhere, and
- 2:33Speaker 3: then its claws started to expand out, and we were,
- 2:36Speaker 3: I don't believe it, the little bastard's still here. Yeah. Anyway,
- 2:40Speaker 3: so we just stood it up right sort of on
- 2:42Speaker 3: its haunches, and it was definitely holding its head up.
- 2:46Speaker 3: It hadn't opened its eyes, so obviously I reckon it
- 2:49Speaker 3: was probably ten seconds twenty seconds away from absolutely carking it.
- 2:54Speaker 3: So we put it in a little doggie pet pack,
- 2:56Speaker 3: and so it could stand up all night or just
- 2:58Speaker 3: set up, and I reckon it will survive.
- 3:01Speaker 2: Sure enough, next morning cracked in the pack. Oh my goodness.
- 3:07Speaker 2: So we took it out.
- 3:08Speaker 3: It flew off and went with the other chooks, and
- 3:10Speaker 3: that's it will be larier puric.
- 3:12Speaker 1: I don't know that there's many people that could say
- 3:14Speaker 1: that they've resuscitated a chok too.
- 3:16Speaker 2: Now that's right, don't give them two chalks.
- 3:20Speaker 3: I mean, there's an old saying you should never get
- 3:21Speaker 3: give up on a wounded duck, because ducks have amazing
- 3:23Speaker 3: recovery powers, more so than any other poultry. And but
- 3:27Speaker 3: this this chalk faired income it was a goner and
- 3:31Speaker 3: so and it's just running around like normal. I mean,
- 3:34Speaker 3: it can't have any brain damage, as you know, because
- 3:35Speaker 3: choks don't have any brains.
- 3:37Speaker 2: So it's fine.
- 3:39Speaker 3: What's up?
- 3:40Speaker 2: That's it? Well, CAZy, you know you're spinning a good yarn.
- 3:43Speaker 1: You know you're telling a good story when there's people
- 3:45Speaker 1: outside the studio watching you. Tell the studio, tell us
- 3:49Speaker 1: what's going on inside the studio.
- 3:51Speaker 2: Well, then we obviously have to do something with the snake.
- 3:54Speaker 2: So what did you do with the snake.
- 3:55Speaker 3: Well, you're try and go about twenty kilometers away from
- 3:57Speaker 3: your home because you don't want it to come back.
- 3:58Speaker 2: So I took it down.
- 4:01Speaker 3: Neighbors, you're a friend's place that doesn't have Facebook about
- 4:05Speaker 3: the story.
- 4:08Speaker 2: You are out of control. Good on you?
- 4:10Speaker 1: What a true territory tale to resuscitate a chalk well?
- 4:14Speaker 3: Everyone, every animal deserves a fig like every terrantory. And
- 4:18Speaker 3: I suppose so you know, if you think you can
- 4:20Speaker 3: bring it back to life, why don't you give it
- 4:22Speaker 3: a shot?
- 4:23Speaker 2: But no touching, no.
- 4:26Speaker 1: Keasy appearing.
- 4:27Speaker 2: You've made our day today.
- 4:29Speaker 1: I reckon You've made the day of a lot of listeners.
- 4:31Speaker 1: It's been very heavy this morning. Hearing a good news
- 4:35Speaker 1: story is a great story.
- 4:37Speaker 2: I don't know we'll have a survival story.
- 4:38Speaker 3: She doesn't have a name, but maybe we'll call her
- 4:40Speaker 3: name now, I don't know Lucky or something.
- 4:42Speaker 1: I think Lucky's a great name. But you are going
- 4:43Speaker 1: to bring her into the studio this morning?
- 4:45Speaker 2: Find out No, No, she's there.
- 4:47Speaker 3: But as soon I said come on, I've got to
- 4:48Speaker 3: try and round you up, gone, she was gone with
- 4:50Speaker 3: a rooster boyfriend.
- 4:52Speaker 1: She's gone.
- 4:52Speaker 2: Chris and I.
- 4:53Speaker 1: Were very keen to make the lucky chalk.
- 4:55Speaker 2: I'll try. I'll try and catch her and bring her
- 4:57Speaker 2: in one day. I'll let you know her in for
- 4:58Speaker 2: the week that Watson get a relief on Brida. A
- 5:01Speaker 2: bit of a bit of cackling might go on to
- 5:05Speaker 2: add to the well.
- 5:07Speaker 1: But you did bring your therapy dog into the Georgio.
- 5:09Speaker 2: Yeah, Georgia.
- 5:10Speaker 3: She's a great therapy she's a great therapy dog. She's
- 5:13Speaker 3: she loves people. She's for those listening. She's a carne
- 5:15Speaker 3: corso and they're just amazing. Bridge, just a big, gentle giant.
- 5:20Speaker 1: And she's a regular visitor to three sixty.
- 5:22Speaker 2: Yeah, she's been a few times and she doesn't fart.
- 5:24Speaker 2: She doesn't like the other dogs.
- 5:27Speaker 3: No, he's fat under the ches. He's gone to that
- 5:29Speaker 3: great yard in the sky. But yeah, she's a good girl.
- 5:32Speaker 3: So I'd recommend the breed to anyone.
- 5:34Speaker 1: Oh well, Kezier Puric, thanks for coming in this morning
- 5:37Speaker 1: and bringing a smile to everyone's faces and bringing to
- 5:41Speaker 1: the chalk back to life.
- 5:42Speaker 3: The RESUSS team. Well, it was actually niece Briani. She's
- 5:45Speaker 3: she's out in nightclif.
- 5:46Speaker 2: She she's a legend. She's a legend.
- 5:49Speaker 3: I know she's not special therapist, so so for children,
- 5:53Speaker 3: specializes in children, and she's actually rescued.
- 5:57Speaker 2: Animals herself before.
- 5:58Speaker 3: But oh well, she's been known to put her arm
- 6:01Speaker 3: up and help get things.
- 6:03Speaker 2: Out of help to deliver a baby. She has an animal.
- 6:06Speaker 3: Yeah, she's well, it's a farm stuff, you know, that's it.
- 6:09Speaker 3: You know, you've got to have. There's sex and there's death,
- 6:11Speaker 3: and you've got to have more than one than the other.
- 6:13Speaker 3: I said, you haven't got a farm.
- 6:16Speaker 2: Or much of a life, or of a life. Geesy empiric. Thanks,
