- 0:36None. What's up everybody?
- 0:44It's your boy Keithy. Friday night, another wild and
- 0:48wacky week for me, but finally doing the thing, just making
- 0:52sure we're good everywhere. I think we're good everywhere,
- 0:55but the tick of the talk. I'll get that organized in a
- 0:58second, but super glad to be back.
- 1:01It's Friday night, I'm down. Got to make this as painless as
- 1:06possible. The off the rails what is going
- 1:09on islands you hold crazy. Too many puppies.
- 1:21Anyway, glad to be back. Hope everybody's tuning in.
- 1:25I appreciate y'all. We're going to get through the
- 1:28whole week of music coverage. The week that was happy Friday
- 1:33the 13th. You know, a date built in
- 1:38superstition and prejudice, but not by us.
- 1:42So let me just make sure that the ticket is Taco in here and
- 1:46then we will continue. It has been a time.
- 1:54Let's see how's everybody doing out there.
- 2:04It like I said, I hope everybody's OK.
- 2:06It has been wild and wackiness kind of couple of weeks for me.
- 2:11I'm trying to get back next week to do the show on Thursday as we
- 2:15intended because that is the best and that's what we like to
- 2:22do. But yesterday I had a secret
- 2:24mission, my third in four weeks, where I was not able to do the
- 2:30show on Friday. Let's have a liquid death.
- 2:31Have a liquid Sierra. What's up Hun?
- 2:34My love? Cheers.
- 2:40I peeked on. I peeked in on you when you were
- 2:42sound asleep. I have a funny story to tell you
- 2:45later. And then we'll get dinner when
- 2:47I'm done here. But all right, let's do the damn
- 2:50thing. Thanks for everybody who's
- 2:51watching. I think Don is at a concert.
- 2:55He will probably not be tuning in this week, but that's fine.
- 2:58Can't. You can't do it.
- 2:59It's just like when I played in bands.
- 3:01You can't be at every show. It's not humanly possible hope
- 3:05everybody likes my George Corp grinder shirt respect the neck
- 3:11hilarious. You guys are hilarious.
- 3:13But anyway, we only start the show with the announcements.
- 3:15We'll get into the tip menu and all the things soon.
- 3:19I am live The best experience for this show is as always, Ken
- 3:22count and Becky's here. What's up brother and track city
- 3:26and yo Moji 418 what up? What up?
- 3:31We're usually live on all the things twitch, YouTube,
- 3:35Facebook, Instagram and I like hanging out on TikTok respecting
- 3:42that bro, respecting that. I didn't get it, put it into the
- 3:45show today, but George made his like monthly donation to all the
- 3:49kids hospitals and orphanages and dropped like literally a
- 3:52U-Haul truck worth of stuffed toys that he gets from playing
- 3:59the claw game. He dominates the claw game
- 4:01wherever he goes. So who says that Death Metal
- 4:07doesn't have a heart? They lied to you.
- 4:11They lied to you. But anyway, it's Friday night,
- 4:13normally not our regular time to go on.
- 4:15And like I said, hopefully next week I get back on schedule.
- 4:19Reminder if you're in the LA area or within striking distance
- 4:22of traveling to LA in May, we are giving away a pair of
- 4:25tickets to see Echo and the Bunnymen at the legendary Greek
- 4:29Theatre, the band I grew up listening to.
- 4:33It's super cool. We partnered with Golden Voice
- 4:36to bring you this ticket giveaway.
- 4:38We have another giveaway next week or a vinyl giveaway, which
- 4:43is super cool. We just wrapped up our giveaway
- 4:46on a big pile of books. I notified the winners waiting
- 4:49to get a response, and then we have more stuff to do in
- 4:53giveaway this spring. So I'm really excited about all
- 4:56these things. We usually start the news with
- 4:59some sad news. This one was a heartbreaker.
- 5:01Christina Cavallera, the daughter of Max and Gloria
- 5:05Cavallera, passed away after an illness this week.
- 5:08She was her in her own right, a music industry legend.
- 5:11She started out her career working with her famous mom and
- 5:14dad and being a tour manager for Soulfly when they launched that
- 5:18band in 1998. And she went on to work in the
- 5:23business for a long time all over the world.
- 5:25And just very sad. She herself had a life that was
- 5:28kind of, you know, unfortunately had some tragedy in it.
- 5:34She had lost two of her four children to infant deaths.
- 5:38And obviously her brother Dana died when she was very young
- 5:42also. And it's a really tough time.
- 5:45We love the Cavaliers here. I have interviewed Max Cavalero
- 5:48more than any other artist in 20 years of doing music journalism.
- 5:52And so I'm always very sad. And when somebody good passes
- 5:56away. What's up death rattle?
- 6:00Grandfather Dan? I mean, like, OK, I guess Then,
- 6:05you know, again, you have to earn your own stripes, even if
- 6:09you got a family name and wealth.
- 6:11She certainly didn't come from Bunny.
- 6:13But, you know, I met her once and she was super nice, and
- 6:18everything I ever heard about her was positive.
- 6:20What's up? Death rattle?
- 6:22OK, you know, some people are, you know, even if you a lot of
- 6:26people are born with a silver spoon and they put heroin in
- 6:29that spoon and shoot it into their arm.
- 6:31She didn't. So, you know, just my two cents.
- 6:38What do I know? Dillinger Compound is here.
- 6:42What's up? Late night Kifi on a Friday.
- 6:44Thanks, Dillinger for always being a real 1.
- 6:48This was another sad one this week.
- 6:52Here, let me get big in this. Andrew Rankin, who is the
- 6:56original drummer of The Pogues, died.
- 6:59Seems like there's a version of The Pogues.
- 7:01I guess they have been playing for a few years.
- 7:05But yeah, Andrew passed away. Very sad.
- 7:09Also, Dave Alexander, who was the original bassist of Iggy and
- 7:13the Stooges, died. You know, we were talking about
- 7:16this last week with these major illnesses.
- 7:19A lot of our heroes are leaving us, which really sucks, you
- 7:25know? Again, also, Greg Brown, the
- 7:27original guitar player of Cake died last weekend.
- 7:30Kind of got overshadowed by everything else.
- 7:32But if you like the band Cake, that's a band for you. 4
- 7:38Dillinger shows in Europe announced today.
- 7:40Amazing. I did not know that today was
- 7:44kind of a drowned in my inbox day.
- 7:48Also in the pop culture world, Bud Court, you definitely know
- 7:52his many roles, but most notably Harold and Maude, the cult
- 7:55favorite. Oh, Brixton Academy.
- 7:58That's one of my bucket list places to go.
- 8:01Hopefully England in 2027. We'll see how it goes.
- 8:06I'd like to get there, but Bud Court rest in power.
- 8:10Don't know the details of his passing, but I'm very sad to
- 8:13hear that. And yeah, maybe I need to give.
- 8:16Harold and Maude was never a movie that was like, held a lot
- 8:19of sway with me. But maybe I need to give it
- 8:22another try. Tell me what you think out
- 8:25there. If you're Harold and Maude fans.
- 8:26I know Melissa is, but you know anybody else?
- 8:29If you love Harold and Maude, tell me, and not notably to
- 8:33anybody else that's not a New York Giants football fan but a
- 8:36footnote in our history. Ray Hanley died.
- 8:39Ray Hanley had the misfortune of following Bill Parcells as the
- 8:43coach of the Giants from 1991 to 1992.
- 8:47He coached two seasons. He got the job because Bill
- 8:49Belichick turned down the Giants job because he didn't want to
- 8:52follow ourselves. He saw the Giants probably
- 8:55coming apart a little bit as a team, barely making it in,
- 8:59winning that Super Bowl. And Bill went to go coach the
- 9:02Cleveland Browns, which he was terrible at, by the way, before
- 9:06he went to the Patriots in his epic run, his eventual Hall of
- 9:10Fame run, and Ray Hanley had been like a member of Mensa.
- 9:14He went to Stanford, where he was running back.
- 9:17He used to do like complex calculus in his head for fun.
- 9:24He would have loved Wordle, but he died recently.
- 9:28Obviously, the Giants were terrible for a couple of years,
- 9:30underachieving, we'll say, not a playoff team in 91 to 92.
- 9:34But anyhow, rest in peace. Ray Henley celebrating birthdays
- 9:39this week, the great Henry Rollins of Rollins Band and
- 9:43Black Flag and all the things Rollins, you know, it continues
- 9:48to be an interesting enigma. He did an interview with Tom
- 9:51Green. I need to kind of do some news
- 9:53around this really quick. He did an interview on the Tom
- 9:55Green's new web show, and he talked about how once in a while
- 10:00he misses getting on stage and yelling into a mic and doing
- 10:04hardcore metal. But the problem is that he
- 10:07didn't ever want to become kind of a jukebox of ria lounge.
- 10:11That what he considers to be like artists going out and only
- 10:14doing the hits. Rollins feels like that's in
- 10:17genuine. Hey, Curtis is here for a
- 10:19minute. What's up, Robert Rango is here
- 10:22just talking about the the weekly live stream.
- 10:24Brother, Good to see you. So Rollins celebrated a birthday
- 10:30today. Curmudgeonly and old sometimes
- 10:33misses being in a band. Mostly not.
- 10:36Peter Hook of New Order and Joy Division and Peter Hook and the
- 10:41Light had a birthday this week. This is an older picture of him
- 10:45when he was younger. Also, celebrate your birthday.
- 10:49This kind of makes me sad. John Williams, the great
- 10:53composer of every theme song you love from classical music and
- 10:58movies, celebrated a birthday. This we've got pickies 93 or 94.
- 11:03This is him, Joseph Williams. In the picture there is his son
- 11:07who's the singer of Toto and has been for a long time.
- 11:12I think he would make a very good singer for Journey if
- 11:14Arnell can figure it out. Also celebrating a birthday this
- 11:17week is one of my favorite singers ever.
- 11:19San Francisco's own Mark Ossigeda of Death Angel and
- 11:23Carrie King and the wedding band with Kirk Hammett and a bunch of
- 11:27other things. Fun stuff.
- 11:29Oh oh look, a cunt. I don't know if you're in
- 11:33America, it's so rough here right now, but you know,
- 11:37watching Pam Bondi eat complete shit while lying her face off in
- 11:42front of Congress was pretty amazing.
- 11:44She not only doesn't is not qualified for her station, she
- 11:47doesn't understand the law in America, of which she is the
- 11:51senior most legal authority in American history in terms of the
- 11:56position, you know, not not the Supreme Court, but actually the
- 12:00attorney general. Wild shit is wild.
- 12:08Anyway, moving right along. You know I would do this for
- 12:14free and I do do this mostly for free.
- 12:16Ghost code. We do have some advertising on
- 12:18our website, but we do accept tips.
- 12:20The best way to tip us is via Super like or Super Thanks on
- 12:25our YouTube Ghost Cult mag. But we have a Ghost Cult Live
- 12:31YouTube now as well as my personal YouTube that I'm going
- 12:34to start doing some fun things with behind the scenes karaoke,
- 12:38jams, Maybe some of my band stuff will live there.
- 12:42We update our link tree every day.
- 12:43We do this mostly, you know, we're trying to earn a wage
- 12:47doing this, but it's really hard.
- 12:49It's mostly a volunteer operation heading into our 14th
- 12:52year and but yeah, if you're feeling tipsy, shoot us a tip.
- 12:55We also take Cash App, Venmo, Kofi, all Echo's, code bag,
- 13:01PayPal, all the things. There's our cash app if you want
- 13:05to check it out. OK, it's time for the news
- 13:06rundown. And as always, when we do the
- 13:09news rundown, we discuss metal festivals and there was a lot of
- 13:14them announced this week. So let's Jim on it.
- 13:17But first, the features. Sorry, news rundown.
- 13:19Next features. Now, I should probably do a
- 13:22rundown of the itinerary of every show, right?
- 13:25A couple of big ones this week. Mark Menge.
- 13:27We've been doing a lot of stuff with Metal Allegiance, but Mark
- 13:30is also the founder and brain, you know, the mastermind, the
- 13:33brain power behind King Ultra Mega, which is the Soundgarden
- 13:37tributes you've been seeing rolled out the last year out on
- 13:41Rain and Phoenix Music. Right in time for Curtis to
- 13:43probably not miss this mention, but Pretty Predo is here.
- 13:48What's up, buddy? So yeah, Mark Menge, he's
- 13:52brilliant bass player. I saw him at Metal Allegiance
- 13:56last month. Play Cliff Burton's bass from
- 13:58Day on the Green. He's an incredible bassist and
- 14:03King Ultra Mega is awesome. They're working their way up to
- 14:06a full album release and all the things, but meanwhile, one song
- 14:10at a time, this is pretty amazing.
- 14:12I saw the debut live of King Ultra Mega with Elisa White
- 14:17Goose, formerly of Arch Enemy. Got some March Enemy news in a
- 14:19minute talking about, you know, doing the day.
- 14:23I tried to live it. It was incredible.
- 14:25It was incredible. Also, I interviewed 84 Days.
- 14:30If you haven't heard of 84 Days, they are a punk rock group
- 14:34made-up of Randy Bradbury of Penny Wise and Cameron Webb.
- 14:38Cameron Webb is the Super producer of Motörhead and Social
- 14:41Distortion and every big metal core and pop punk band and so
- 14:46they have a super group. They also have Tony from No
- 14:49Doubt on drums and guitar player from The Vandals contributing.
- 14:53And it's a pretty bad ass pop punk and hardcore record.
- 14:58And it's basically songs that Randy had that were not
- 15:00appropriate for. It was like, this doesn't sound
- 15:02like Pennywise. Let me put this out.
- 15:05So this is, you know, kind of a solo vehicle for Randy.
- 15:08But it was really awesome. I interviewed both Randy and
- 15:10Cameron, and Cameron is very, you know, was like, I'll chat
- 15:14with you next time about production stuff.
- 15:15So I would love to really talk to him again and drill down and
- 15:21drill down with him and talk more production things.
- 15:24So yeah, real good. Also also also also let's see
- 15:33features. Also, just to kick catch you up
- 15:36in case you missed it, I recently interviewed David Jay,
- 15:39formerly of Bauhaus and Love and Rockets about his new anti ice
- 15:43single. This is him here with Shepard
- 15:45Fairey on their collab poster. He also worked with Seattle
- 15:49artist Tomo 77 who's artwork and graffiti is all around town.
- 15:55I also interviewed Nicholas, Nicholas Moriarty and Nicolas
- 15:58Cage fighter. Is anybody else excited to see
- 16:01Nicolas Cage and the live action Spider Noir thing on Amazon?
- 16:07I'm so pumped for this. I love comic book nerd shit and
- 16:10I'm really excited. He was so good in the 2 animated
- 16:14Spider Man movies as Spider Noir.
- 16:18Glacier Musical podcast wraps up our series this weekend on Dio
- 16:22with Dream Evil. Diminishing returns in the Dio
- 16:25solo career, but super interesting and fun to chop it
- 16:28up with Don De Lamont and of course the host Nick Cameron.
- 16:33Really, really fun series on Theo.
- 16:35Our next series is on Megadeth. Next week we're going to do a
- 16:39chaser episode, so the beer during the week.
- 16:42This regular series said that a chaser and the chaser is going
- 16:44to be on Record Store Day where we deep dive the entire catalog
- 16:49of Record Store Day and talk about what our buy lists will be
- 16:52and what they will not be. And then I think I will do a
- 16:55metal and rock centric only Record Store Day preview and
- 17:01post mortem. And a reminder, Ghost Cold Mank
- 17:06has a podcast. This show will be a podcast.
- 17:09You can check us out wherever you listen to podcasts.
- 17:14I came, I saw, I forgot what I was doing.
- 17:16I went back, I got distracted. I have no idea what's going on.
- 17:18Is this my cup? I have to pee.
- 17:20This is how my brain works on ADHDI.
- 17:23Only took one Ritalin today. I probably should have took two.
- 17:26But anyway, now it's time for the news rundown and now we will
- 17:34talk about metal festivals. This is a lot of fun.
- 17:38I'm having a good time. Like like Wayne's World, I'm
- 17:43having fun. Tomas passed by, Joe passed by
- 17:48and Mike passed by on the good old TikTok.
- 17:58How it feels entering the festival, how it feels leaving.
- 18:01I believe the Revenant is getting a re release right for
- 18:05is it 10 years or any? Oh my God that is insane.
- 18:09And just a quick reminder, if you follow us we will follow you
- 18:13back when this show is over. Warm Tour continues to add
- 18:17bands. If this is a thing for you,
- 18:21definitely check it out. Their socials is the place to
- 18:23keep it locked when the whole lineup is complete for each
- 18:27date. We will break it down, but it
- 18:30does seem kind of hard to do when they're adding like, you
- 18:36know, 5 to 10 bands every day. It's a little difficult to, you
- 18:39know, kind of kind of get it in there.
- 18:42But anyway, let us see, let us see.
- 18:46Mojave experiences coming up March 20th to 21st.
- 18:49I will be there looking forward to it.
- 18:51Earthless and Dead Meadow headlining.
- 18:54Also Milwaukee Metal Fest applied to go cover this acid
- 18:58bath, Kill switch, Engage ministry on a whole bunch of
- 19:01other killer bands that I love. So I'm really pumped for it,
- 19:04including Death Angel doing Act 3, which is awesome because I
- 19:07missed that this just got the complete line up.
- 19:10This is camp punk Sylvania celebrating 15 years body count,
- 19:14pump up and face to face a Wilhelm screen Co defendants,
- 19:19pink shift. We've interviewed all those
- 19:20bands, Bad Cop, Bad Cop and a whole bunch of others in
- 19:24Pennsylvania right near the Poconos, Takedown Fest got
- 19:29announced this week. Phil Campbell and the Bastard
- 19:31Sons, the Wild Hearts President and Grand Magus and a bunch of
- 19:38other bands we like. In the UK, Blood Stock has
- 19:42announced their their is it their third official winter
- 19:45gathering? But they're second in a row.
- 19:47Headline by Rotting Christ. We covered Rotting Christ at the
- 19:50Parthenon doing their 35th anniversary set last year.
- 19:55So they're still continuing to do the 35 years of Roddy Christ.
- 19:58And I think they're probably going to call it a day when
- 20:00that's over. But this looks really cool.
- 20:03With Sorrow, that's a really good man.
- 20:05Pest Control. Fun name.
- 20:07So yeah, fun. I wonder if they'll add a few
- 20:09more bands, but we covered that this year.
- 20:11Our guy Bill Moundsley in the UK.
- 20:13We've got a few UK people coming on now to do more stuff when we
- 20:17cover more live things. Bottle Rock is already sold out
- 20:19of Saturday tickets. I'm not attending this this year
- 20:24but I hope to go back in a future year.
- 20:26Was a lot of fun last year. Also reminder prepare the
- 20:29ground. Basically the North American Rd.
- 20:32burn is taking place in late May Decibel Metal and Beer Fest
- 20:39takes place in early May. Power Trip.
- 20:40Municipal Waste. Kyle, Lisa Kromix, Kryptopsy
- 20:43looks pretty badass. Money Roots just announced their
- 20:48whole lineup last week, and now they've announced they will do a
- 20:51Brazil edition this year as well as a Europe edition, so that's
- 20:56pretty fun. Revolution Calling This is a
- 21:01punk rock festival in Europe headlined by Cox Bar on their
- 21:05farewell tour, Blood for Blood, Kickback Foundation, Youth of
- 21:09Today, Alone in a Crowd, Hope Conspiracy, Project X Propane
- 21:14Propane just signed a Napalm Records for a new record.
- 21:16That's really exciting. So I look forward to hopefully
- 21:19getting an interview with those guys.
- 21:21Nick Cameron of Glacial Musical is a huge Propane fan.
- 21:26Road to Ruin is here. What's up?
- 21:27What's up? Good to see you.
- 21:28Thanks for being here. Much appreciated.
- 21:33All righty. Let's see.
- 21:35What else? What else?
- 21:36What else? Monsters Rock cruises down some
- 21:38pre party with yesterday and today.
- 21:40Madam X shot of Poison. I think that's like a Poison
- 21:44tribute band maybe with former members of Poison, Pretty Boy
- 21:48Floyd and more and Soto and Beeler, which is Jeff Scott,
- 21:55Soto and Beeler, who we interviewed recently, Jason
- 21:59Beeler Forever. Jeff Vesta is coming back with
- 22:03Young Widows and Atomic Cult. This looks pretty killer.
- 22:06And Avondale Music Hall Pig Destroyer is on Day 2.
- 22:11That was all the festivals for to come.
- 22:17Tommy Benson, you're funny. Anyway, so in concerts this
- 22:25week, big news out of Turkey. Turkey has canceled an upcoming
- 22:31concert from the European Tour with Behemoth and Slaughter to
- 22:34Prevail because of questionable morals.
- 22:39Obviously. Behemoth is the overtly satanic,
- 22:42formerly black metal band that is basically now a theatrical
- 22:45death metal band. Slaughter to Prevail I'm not a
- 22:48big fan of because I feel like bands have been doing what's
- 22:51Letter to Prevail does for decades.
- 22:54They're just kind of the hot thing right now.
- 22:56I don't think they're that great myself, but banned from Turkey.
- 23:00And then Nergal came out and was like, of course, we were banned
- 23:03by the puritanical people of, you know, the government of
- 23:06Turkey. This that the other thing.
- 23:08So this is a wonderful Photo by Rich Price Photography.
- 23:12Rich used to shoot for us in the UK for a long time, and then he
- 23:15stepped out to do other things. But this is a gorgeous photo.
- 23:24Not to be outdone, Pantera just booked an arena show in Turkey.
- 23:29I don't know, Pantera has a lot of songs about Satanism and drug
- 23:32use and we and whiskey, but somehow you know.
- 23:37Pantera is playing kind of off dates from their Metallica
- 23:40summer tour headline dates across Europe.
- 23:43So wild. Nothing else booked after this
- 23:47for Pantera. We'll see what happens.
- 23:49Down is heating up, We'll talk about that.
- 23:51The Church, I don't know if you're a fan of the church.
- 23:53I saw the church last year with Afghan Whigs and they were
- 23:56marvelous. They had an incredible record
- 23:58out in 2024. They are touring the Singles
- 24:011980, the 2025 N American tour coming in June.
- 24:06I wouldn't mind going to see them again.
- 24:08They were wonderful. This is a bluegrass and folk
- 24:13play, The Porch on a Windy Hill, a new play with old music taking
- 24:16place in New York City, and our own.
- 24:20Omar Cordy took in the opening night show and wrote a review of
- 24:23it. I didn't think that this kind of
- 24:24music was in his wheelhouse, but he really enjoyed it, so might
- 24:28be worth checking out. I don't.
- 24:33Decapitation, Bruja and No Cure tour coming up soon.
- 24:38Ghost is winding down their current leg of the USA Skeletor.
- 24:46This is their second full length American tour supporting their
- 24:50Skeletor album of last year, the Ghost Co Album of the Year.
- 24:54Much to everybody chagrin. Even though I thought it was
- 24:57awesome and did get the most votes from our staff across the
- 25:01world was a very close vote. Crowbar face Fuck off is here.
- 25:06What's up? Good to see you.
- 25:09So yeah, Ghost dropped a new video today in time for
- 25:13Valentine's Day. It was very goth and romantic
- 25:16for the song Umbra and it's I know a Ghost.
- 25:19Not hearing too many people complain about the phone list
- 25:22shows like they were a while back.
- 25:25Wrong has some other tour dates coming up in Europe's.
- 25:29They're celebrating their 31 years of cleansing with an
- 25:32occasional show this year, as well as their live album that's
- 25:36coming out. Trying to get my hands on one of
- 25:38those. Maybe we'll catch up with our
- 25:39good buddy Tommy Victor again, a guy who yelled at me once at CBG
- 25:44VS back in the 90s. Cancel Rat has announced some
- 25:50additional shows on the off dates from the Amman Clock tour.
- 25:54That's Amanomark and Death Clock.
- 26:00WADA and Mortis are doing the tour.
- 26:05Pretty cool. WADA acoustic black metal
- 26:08record. Kind of the same vibe as Zaster
- 26:10or Panopticon, who people know that I love.
- 26:15Dillinger says. I guess the Lemon Heads are
- 26:18done. I guess Evan Dando is a prick.
- 26:21We were talking about that earlier today.
- 26:22Evan Dando is a prick. I was a big Lemon Heads fan.
- 26:27I love It's a shame about Ray. And I love Boston punk.
- 26:32And they were, you know, he was a good looking dude and goofy
- 26:35and self aware and they were a fun little band.
- 26:38And then he's like literally ruining his career with, you
- 26:41know, swears up and down he's not on drugs, but he has very
- 26:44druggy behavior, which I don't like.
- 26:46Jaybird is here. What up Jaybird, a trainee was
- 26:51added some additional spring headline shows around their
- 26:54other tour already announced with Seven Dust that begins
- 26:57soon. Fire from the gods, now fronted
- 27:00by Mike C Town from formerly of What is it Bury You Dead and a
- 27:09few other bands is now the singer of Fire from the gods
- 27:12since Channer went solo. AJ Channer Massive Wagons, which
- 27:17is kind of one of the the UK clutch who's a band ghost called
- 27:20Love's is the Everywhere We Go UK tour coming soon in April.
- 27:25You can always tell the European and Europe tour dates because
- 27:29the dates are backwards from America.
- 27:30Ha ha ha. The Aside and Cal the Capitation
- 27:34Co headline tour coming up soon. Kind of fun.
- 27:37The Black Keys. I don't know if this is a band
- 27:39for you, but The Black Keys have announced a world tour.
- 27:43I know they were kind of cancelled some tour dates in the
- 27:46last few years saying that they were not, you know, economically
- 27:50viable. So I wonder if they're going to
- 27:52play smaller venues and do you know residency type things
- 27:57instead of those things. John 5 has announced the
- 28:02European headline tour. Always go see John 5.
- 28:05Super fun. If you love guitar nerd shit.
- 28:07His VI PS are awesome. He gives a lot of time, he talks
- 28:11to people, takes photos with you, not next to you or behind
- 28:14you. He gives merch, guitar picks.
- 28:17I love John 5, he's great and he always puts on a fun show.
- 28:21Kind of like a Rob Zombie light if you will.
- 28:27Adelita's Way is a band we've interviewed a while back from
- 28:30Las Vegas. They are starting to ramp up the
- 28:32tour machine again. I know they had a record last
- 28:35year that kind of came and went, but it was solid.
- 28:38Good band. Grave Huffer, friend of the
- 28:40show. Neanderthals Rise, 2026 show
- 28:43dates. They are from Missouri.
- 28:48Looks like they have Kansas City, Colorado Springs, Denver,
- 28:51Salt Lake City, Vegas, Albuquerque, Albuquerque,
- 28:56Oklahoma City, KC, Joplin and a few others, so maybe we'll catch
- 29:00that tour. All them witches are going to
- 29:04tour with King Buffalo. This looks like the Southeast
- 29:11and the Midwest. That looks that's a great tour
- 29:15corner. Last few dates coming up this
- 29:17week. I just saw them in Berkeley and
- 29:20I just want to wrap for a second some real talk to my besties out
- 29:24here. Like if you love bands, you have
- 29:27to go see them. Especially rock and metal music
- 29:30is outside our music. We've learned that it's not
- 29:33really for everybody. We're never going to be fully
- 29:36accepted and loved. And the reality is that artists
- 29:39don't make money except when they sell merchants shows of
- 29:42which they're already getting kind of ripped off by the
- 29:43venues, and they need you to show up and go see them so they
- 29:48will come back again. A lot of people say to me, look,
- 29:51I didn't know this band was coming on tour.
- 29:53Well, there's a show every week where I talk about all the tours
- 29:55that got announced. There's posters with the tour
- 29:58dates. You can pause and copy down your
- 30:00date or go to gosculptbank.com and find those things.
- 30:03But like I saw a fully packed, almost sold out room.
- 30:07It's only like 250 people but packed on a Tuesday and I was
- 30:12actually late to the show and it was wall to wall people and I
- 30:15had to navigate through the crowd to get to merch.
- 30:18And I was really, I was not annoyed.
- 30:19I was happy. I was like, I'm so glad this
- 30:21show is packed now. Coroner hasn't toured much since
- 30:24they reunited. They did a tour in the last
- 30:26couple of years. They played Barrel with Death
- 30:28Fest. I missed them.
- 30:29This is the first time I have ever seen this band I have been
- 30:33a fan of since high school or Community College so it was
- 30:37really amazing. They were great.
- 30:40They Heathen opened one of my favorite bands.
- 30:42Missed the beginning but caught most of their set.
- 30:43Love them. Hometown show for Heathen.
- 30:47Go see these bands when they come to your town and don't
- 30:49complain if they don't come back again and you don't go see them.
- 30:53Soapbox off I hate God. Has it added a fall UK tour?
- 31:06They're already on tour all spring with Crowbar.
- 31:09Wait is going to open an intercourse?
- 31:13Kind of fun band. Hard to Google, but fun maybe I
- 31:17Hate God is going to announce a new album.
- 31:19I'm on Clock tour. Just a reminder, we should be
- 31:21covering this Among the Mark and Death Clock with support from
- 31:24Castle Rat. Roddy Bottoms book tour wraps up
- 31:28next week. I would love to see him do a
- 31:31reading. He already did San Francisco and
- 31:33I missed it. It was sold out.
- 31:36Queen's right? Had to cancel a few dates this
- 31:38week due to illness. I don't know if it was Jeff that
- 31:41was personally unwell, but they have rebooked the dates they had
- 31:45to cancel, so that's nice. I know Jeff has promised an off
- 31:49an operation. Mind crying three at some point.
- 31:52Do we need this metal bait at 87?
- 31:57And Jennifer Walker LV has passed by.
- 32:00Nice to see you. Appreciate you appreciate you.
- 32:06So I think that's that all right just a reminder about the tip
- 32:09menu. If you're feeling tipsy, please
- 32:11drop us a tip. We appreciate it.
- 32:15We are going to do membership soon.
- 32:16I know I keep promising that quick word from our affiliate
- 32:19partner Fable beard. Look at this awesome beard.
- 32:23I smell great that this is I was saying today to my girlfriend.
- 32:27This is the best my beard has ever done.
- 32:30I've got this holiday scent, the Reef Wrangler that smells like a
- 32:34just gorgeous. And then there's also the
- 32:37villager, which is also excellent.
- 32:38They also have non scented bombs and beard products in case
- 32:43someone in your life is sensitive to smells that come in
- 32:46these cool droppers that come in beautiful packaging.
- 32:50They're like based on D&D characters, right?
- 32:53Which is, you know, right up my nerd ass alley.
- 32:55I haven't really played D&D in since high school, but I respect
- 32:59everybody that is in the in the hustle that's a dungeon master.
- 33:03So I put a little beard oil on my comb and then just brush it
- 33:07in like so. Smells great, feels great, no
- 33:13dandruff, great healthy beard, doesn't irritate my extremely
- 33:17sensitive skin. All natural ingredients, no
- 33:22additives or BS Amazing stuff. Fable Beard if you want to hook
- 33:26up your beard and get your beard game like my beard game.
- 33:28They also have the deodorant, beard washes, shampoos, all the
- 33:32things. Use the link in our description
- 33:34or our link. Trainee, get $10 off your first
- 33:37order. We get free fabled beard merch.
- 33:40And when you see ads at ghostcultman.com, that's from
- 33:45the Lamb Goat Media Network. Lamb Goat, the much meaner
- 33:48version of Ghost Cult. I'd like to say they are our
- 33:51friends. Also shout out to my homie and
- 33:55my break in case of Glass web developer Craig Caruso, Caruso
- 33:58apps.com. Check it out if you need help
- 34:01with your WordPress and digital strategy needs.
- 34:06And of course, we're streaming everywhere but TikTok on Stream
- 34:08Yard. If you want to stream like we
- 34:11do, use Stream Yard. Denise passed by.
- 34:16She's one of our top viewers on TikTok.
- 34:17Thanks, Denise. I really appreciate you.
- 34:21All right, we're on all the things.
- 34:23Twitch threads, blue sky, Reddit, Discord, all the things.
- 34:29So let's run down the news. There are some major, major
- 34:34things going on in the world of rock and metal this week.
- 34:40First, first and foremost, let's talk about Kurt Cobain.
- 34:45An independent body of forensic scientists looked at all the
- 34:51evidence of Kurt Cobain suicide and our attempt.
- 34:55They're alleging this is not their findings say that the
- 35:00results are not conclusive with suicide.
- 35:03I think this is insane. And, you know, I think it's
- 35:12pretty insane to open up a case that is closed 30 years ago this
- 35:16year, 32 years ago and say, like, Cobain didn't kill
- 35:21himself. Epstein didn't kill himself.
- 35:24Kurt Cobain definitely did, in my opinion.
- 35:27Have you ever met junkies? The notion, you know, Courtney
- 35:31has been fighting this thing. Courtney Love has been fighting
- 35:33this thing as it is. She was a woman in punk rock.
- 35:36She was a, she helped start riot girl and she's had a deal with
- 35:41the people shitting on her for 30 years.
- 35:43She loved Kurt. She definitely didn't kill him.
- 35:46That's insane. I've met Dylan Carlson, I've
- 35:50interviewed him, I've spent time around him.
- 35:52This guy has like one brain cell left after he fried himself in
- 35:55the 80s. So they claim that the, you
- 36:02know, certain things are not adding up, but it's very, you
- 36:05know, it's not very conclusive. I would say from what I read.
- 36:09Maybe I'll do a video on it next week.
- 36:11Maybe I'll do a poll over the weekend and see if people want
- 36:13me to actually do a whole episode.
- 36:15But I wasn't quick to like, I know people jump on this for
- 36:18clicks and I didn't, and I'm probably dumb and I probably
- 36:21should have, but I didn't. Yeah, I don't.
- 36:24I didn't really. What I read didn't look like
- 36:26conclusive evidence to me. But, you know, what do I know?
- 36:31I don't think he killed himself. Yes, I Dillinger, these aren't
- 36:35Yes, you watched it. Yes, yes, I, I'm saying that I
- 36:40read the I read, I read the report.
- 36:44I, I didn't skim it. I read it.
- 36:46I took some notes in case I was going to do a show on it, a live
- 36:50stream. There are some things again
- 36:55that, you know, maybe look questionable, but none of this
- 36:59is new. This was all all the same stuff
- 37:02was considered at the time of his death and you have to like
- 37:07to have them reopen. The case is for the Seattle
- 37:11Medical examiner and Sheriff's Office to admit failure and say
- 37:15they got it wrong. I know yes in the 10 individual
- 37:24accredited medical people, but what is their purpose in doing
- 37:28this? Because they love Kurt Cobain
- 37:30and they hate Courtney Because they want to see justice done.
- 37:34I, I don't know, it seems like they have a lot to gain.
- 37:37If the case is reopened, you know, celebrated celebrity death
- 37:42will get opened up again. And, you know, that's just my,
- 37:50that's just my thing, you know, my two cents.
- 37:55But I, I, I like a lot of conspiracy theories.
- 37:58I liked a lot of conspiracy theories back like in the day.
- 38:01Not now, Arch Enemy. Holy shit.
- 38:05Just a couple of months after Elisa White Goose left Arch
- 38:11Enemy under very mysterious circumstances, both the current
- 38:15members of the band and Angela Gasol shared the same social
- 38:19media post. It's basically they only want
- 38:23justice. All right, Dillinger, I'm with
- 38:25you, bro. Angela is possibly rejoining
- 38:31March Enemy. Before we get too carried away,
- 38:34I want to say that it is the anniversary of Burning Bridges
- 38:40and so I don't know if this is just a ploy to get people hyped
- 38:43for an anniversary release. I know that Michael and Chris's
- 38:47dad passed away last year and Michael had talked about doing
- 38:51the solo record, which he's worked on, and maybe not doing
- 38:54March Enemy. But I would say that I think
- 38:56it's a very fair bet that there's a lot of money in like
- 39:02Arch Enemy with Angela doing like festivals in Europe.
- 39:06You know, I know a couple of people pointed out that she was
- 39:08struggling with her voice when she dropped out of the entire
- 39:11music business. She's done a couple of features
- 39:13here and there. But touring after you've been
- 39:16out of the game for, you know, 1213 years, 14 years is a lot.
- 39:21You know, at the same time, would I love to see it?
- 39:24Of course I would. I, I believe something will get
- 39:28announced soon, but this broke the Internet.
- 39:31Our site went down from all the traffic surge, social media
- 39:35posted that, you know, gangbusters.
- 39:37So people are apparently very into this.
- 39:39And of course, I think there's a thing happening.
- 39:41Somebody jumped in my comments and was like, she wasn't their
- 39:44first singer. And I've never said she was
- 39:46their first singer because I know, I've seen, I, I know John
- 39:49Livia, Johan Livia and I know, you know, black earth and all
- 39:53that. And they did the black art tour
- 39:54a while back. I think when people see like
- 39:57misinformation, it just triggers their brain and they just start
- 40:01assuming that we all cut because of there's a, a phenomenon in,
- 40:04in journalism, which again, a lot of my brethren are not
- 40:08journalists, but there's a phenomenon called sameness of
- 40:11news. And that's like, on one hand, if
- 40:14everybody has the same news, we all become kind of numb to it.
- 40:17And on the second hand, if you don't have the same news
- 40:21everybody else has, you look like, why aren't, why don't you
- 40:24have this? So even when I have broken
- 40:26stories, uncovered stuff. Discovered things, found out
- 40:31things, been given tips that were valid.
- 40:34People are like, well I didn't see it anywhere else so you must
- 40:38be full of shit. Well no, because the Internet is
- 40:40full of shit and Facebook is full of shit.
- 40:43You know, I saw something today that like Rob Halford is going
- 40:47to do a 10 part Netflix series on gay metalheads.
- 40:50He's not like don't believe if it sounds too fantastical, it is
- 40:55100% not real. But anyway, Arch enemy.
- 40:58I'm excited to see what this turns out to be.
- 41:00Keep it to keep it tuned to Ghost Cult.
- 41:02We will immediately tell you what the deal is as soon as we
- 41:05know. Beyond this social media teaser
- 41:10Nevermore, this is a big thing we are waiting for.
- 41:12I was surprised it happened so soon, but they have their debut
- 41:16show in April, so they announced who the lineup was and it's 3
- 41:20nondescript unknown guys. I know people were unhappy about
- 41:25the announcement that didn't tell us who they were.
- 41:27Tell us some stuff about them. But I have assurances from the
- 41:30publicist at Rating Phoenix Music.
- 41:32They will be doing a drip campaign where you learn about
- 41:34each guy leading up to the show and they're going to, you know,
- 41:38maybe they're going to do some new music.
- 41:39They're definitely going to do this tour and get their feet wet
- 41:42again. They've been rehearsing.
- 41:43Ola Anglin directed the documentary, took this
- 41:46photograph. I think it's kind of cool fun
- 41:53times, all right, Bad Bunny and Kid Rock, whatever you want to
- 41:59say, whichever halftime show you watch.
- 42:01I watched the bad Bunny 1 and I thought it was amazing and
- 42:04wholesome almost and you know, beautifully done and very in
- 42:09depth. Go watch new rock stars
- 42:10breakdown of the Super Bowl halftime show if you really want
- 42:14to get an in depth understanding of of what that entire thing was
- 42:17about. But we'll say the fallout from
- 42:21Kid Rock's, you know, whether it's a failure or not is not for
- 42:24me to say. I think it was.
- 42:25But the the fallout is that his Rock the country concert tours
- 42:31are now losing shows by the day. There was some discussion about
- 42:37whether he lip synched or not or whether he was syncing his live
- 42:40vocals to backing tracks. Sure it was not live.
- 42:45Bad Bunny's performance was performed live but the audio
- 42:49track was all pre recorded. So but here you know just like
- 42:55bands dropping off the rock the country thing, multiple dates
- 42:59being cancelled. Even at the thing he was like he
- 43:03was putting on a show and like even the people that were live
- 43:05in the studio which was very few because it was a televised
- 43:08stream thing so it wasn't meant to have a big audience or they
- 43:12should have thought about that. He cursed into the mic at the
- 43:15end of it like fuck this shit. So like clearly he didn't go the
- 43:18way he thought it was going to go.
- 43:22But anyway, I love watching like white people with nice hair on
- 43:27conservative television turn themselves inside out about how
- 43:31UN American and unpatriotic bad Bunny show was when it was
- 43:34absolutely American because Puerto Rico.
- 43:37Puerto Ricans are Americans. Puerto Rico is in America should
- 43:40be a state, especially if we tax them and we use their and abuse
- 43:45their island for things. But and then dumb asses like
- 43:49Jake Paul, who lives in Puerto Rico for attack filter
- 43:52complained about the Super Bowl and was pretty racist on it's on
- 43:56a tweet. But Jake Paul's a dumb chuckle
- 43:58fuck. I'm glad he could get his pet,
- 43:59his face punched in for millions of dollars.
- 44:01He brings nothing else to humanity other than that.
- 44:06All right, moving on though, put out their first new song in 12
- 44:15years today. Added to cover it is a a Doctor
- 44:18John cover which I thought was interesting.
- 44:19We do know that down the last couple of years was originally
- 44:22recording an album of covers and what Kurt Weinstein said is the
- 44:27band could not agree on what covers to do so they recorded a
- 44:32few and then scrapped the project.
- 44:33Wise Blood Records is here. What's up brother?
- 44:35Jackie's here, what's up? Oh my brethren.
- 44:41Much appreciated everybody. So new down music, new down
- 44:45album coming later this year. They have some tour dates
- 44:49announced and spoiler alert down link that they are going to be
- 44:53at Afterchuck. So I think we will get the
- 44:55usually we get the Aftershock lineup late February, early
- 44:58March. I wouldn't be surprised if they
- 45:00have to put the line up out now because being you know, I don't
- 45:03know if that was on purpose. They made a mistake.
- 45:11Aftershock in my backyard here in the Bay Area in Sacramento.
- 45:14Maybe I will go back this year also also Denzel Carian knock
- 45:19loose off those guys put out a collab song today called Hide my
- 45:25this week couple of days ago banger song really fun.
- 45:30There's a line in it. The video's great Co directed by
- 45:33Brian, the singer of the band vocalist of knock loose.
- 45:37He he Co directed. It's like a shot in a skate park
- 45:42and then there's a line in there with Denzel Curry goes fuck your
- 45:45favorite rapper. It's like one of the most brash,
- 45:48ballsy things I've ever heard in my life.
- 45:50COC Gimme Gimme more song is awesome.
- 45:53You know it is awesome. I was telling my partner today I
- 45:57pre-ordered the Lamb of God in the COC, like instantaneously,
- 46:04and I got the Gimme More single, so there were limited edition.
- 46:08So I'm pumped for that on the new COC web store.
- 46:12Yeah, it's great. I'm into it.
- 46:14It kind of reminds me. I thought it was going to sound
- 46:16more like Volume Dealer and not be so heavy because that's the
- 46:20last album with Stanton Moore on drums I think.
- 46:23Or he came in at that time and then they moved to Bower if I'm
- 46:27not mistaken. But I actually thought it was
- 46:29pretty heavy and reminded me of like, reminded me of the COC
- 46:33trio which didn't have Pepper. It also reminded me of Wise
- 46:36Blood, like the boogie Metal. So I'm into it.
- 46:40New down, new COC. Didn't think it was going to
- 46:42happen in the same week but here we are.
- 46:45Also Oh yeah. So yes, Dan COC.
- 46:47Denzel Curry. Here's the COC photo with
- 46:50Stanton Moore and Patrick Brothers on bass.
- 46:54My man from hockey on on bass. Dio Lookout Dio and Black
- 47:02Sabbath AKA Heaven and Hell is getting a deluxe box set of
- 47:07everything they ever released plus live concerts, including
- 47:09Live in Vodkan, which was one of Rodney's last shows ever.
- 47:13And I'm kind of pumped for this. Going to be expensive.
- 47:16I might have to pull the trigger on it.
- 47:17I'm going to see if Rhino will send it to me.
- 47:20They did send me that Smashing Pumpkins box set and they like
- 47:23the job I did, so we'll see if they'll send me this.
- 47:26Interestingly enough, I want, I wanted the KISS box set and I
- 47:29shot my shot asking for it. One of the two KISS box sets
- 47:32that came out last week and they're like, we could
- 47:34theoretically send it to you if you will send it back to us
- 47:36after you make all your content. I was tempted, but I didn't.
- 47:41It's risky. This is amazing.
- 47:45This is Graham Bonnet is doing a new solo album and he has a song
- 47:50with Bruce Dickinson. They shot the music video for
- 47:52this in Southern California recently as Bruce Dickinson is
- 47:56in the LA area making a brand new solo album, The Mandrake
- 47:59Project Volume 2. Graham Bonnet new solo album
- 48:03coming soon. Graham's been fighting with his
- 48:05former band Alcatraz. It's adorable, you guys.
- 48:07You all white guys are adorable when you fight with each other.
- 48:11Evil Rob's here. What's up, brother?
- 48:13Long time no talk. We should catch up soon.
- 48:18So, yeah, Graham Bonnett and Bruce Dickinson.
- 48:19I'm into it. Pussifer has recorded a cover
- 48:25from Low as part of their ICE protests.
- 48:28I don't know if they have multiple covers.
- 48:31I know. Perfect Circle had done a lot of
- 48:33covers at one point with the Emotive Project, but this has
- 48:37not officially been released. It was in their stories, so I
- 48:40don't know if it's going to get released at a later time.
- 48:45Vienna Falco's here, what's up? Dawn of the Dan has passed by.
- 48:52What's up? What's up?
- 48:53All right, let's see, what else? What else?
- 48:58Almost done with the show 10:00 on a Friday night.
- 49:02Good morning Saturday to everybody else in the world.
- 49:06Burton C Bell is selling some of his photography on his website
- 49:10to fund his future recording and endeavors.
- 49:13Some of these are very pricey but pretty interesting.
- 49:15Time lapse photos and some other nature photos and things that he
- 49:20has been doing. Not, you know, still waiting for
- 49:23a full Burton C Bell tour, but he did open for God Forbid last
- 49:27year and a show we covered in LA here.
- 49:32These handsome bastards are exhumed from San Jose and the
- 49:37Bay Area and they have a new album coming soon.
- 49:39They have a new song coming soon.
- 49:40So so I will interview the band. Voivod has a new single in a
- 49:44video out this week on tour soon.
- 49:47One of my favorite bands of all time, this is Ghost Bells.
- 49:51Their new album Cats Couture is out now and they have just been
- 49:54announced as the opener for the entire 2026 KMFDM tour.
- 49:59That's exciting and OK MFDM had pushed their tour to late spring
- 50:03after some illness issues, but they will be on tour with them.
- 50:07If you want an absolute unhinged, weird band, Carl
- 50:12Honker out of Texas, out of Dallas, TX.
- 50:15I, I just talked to these guys, They are bananas.
- 50:18They're basically, they call them their music Slug Metal or
- 50:23Slug Core, and it is basically avant-garde grind core meant to
- 50:29be listened to by slugs. I don't know what the fuck that
- 50:32is about or what I just said, but I promise you I'm sober
- 50:36right now. But they're not.
- 50:37I actually have never done drugs.
- 50:39I was correct. That was OK.
- 50:40You guys on drugs. He's like, we have never done
- 50:42drugs. I was like, you got to be
- 50:43shitting me. You've never done drugs.
- 50:46You seem, I know a lot of drug people.
- 50:47You seem like people that have done a lot of drugs.
- 50:50But OK, He'll trim the British. So the crossover metal core
- 50:56hardcore band just dropped a new EP this week with a few new
- 50:59songs. They're going on tour soon.
- 51:02Super fun band. Nick Sampson of the long running
- 51:07UK old school death metal band Benediction has stepped down
- 51:11from the band. He's better known as the lead
- 51:13guitarist that just joined Onslaught.
- 51:15He's actually quite fantastic lead player.
- 51:18Benediction has a series of festivals and headlight dates
- 51:20coming up this spring and summer.
- 51:22And they have a filling bassist for now and they will recruit a
- 51:26new basis later. But Nick has moved on to just
- 51:29focus on Onslaught. I know they have a new record
- 51:31coming out. They have a lot of touring going
- 51:33on. Good for him.
- 51:35This is the project I was talking about Good Day Father,
- 51:38which brings together This is kind of fucking wild, it's Brian
- 51:43Futter from Catherine Wheel and Tanya Donnelly from Belly.
- 51:46I do feel like this band name is probably an inside joke because
- 51:51I don't like, OK, that's interesting.
- 51:53Is it good day father or good day father?
- 51:56There's no punctuation. It must be an inside joke, but
- 51:59I'm I'm excited. I love Catherine Wheel and I
- 52:01love Belly and I'm super excited for whatever indie alternative
- 52:05rock album they put together themselves.
- 52:08I'll be looking out for the music.
- 52:12Also while she sleeps as a band, we've covered a lot.
- 52:14Here it goes called metal core band.
- 52:18They launched their own fan community called the Sleep
- 52:20Society. Pretty killer great band.
- 52:22The photograph I actually photographed them with
- 52:25Architects and Bring Me the Horizon in Brooklyn way back in
- 52:29the day in the pre plate times. They are taking a break from
- 52:32touring to focus on a new album for probably 2027.
- 52:37And they were talking about kind of the expectation to constantly
- 52:40tour and quickly put out a new record.
- 52:42And they just felt like they want to really hone in and, and
- 52:47spend time writing on this new album.
- 52:49And they're going to be off the road for a while and they want
- 52:53people to know it. So I think that's fine.
- 52:56You know, it's a it's a unhealthy time in the world.
- 53:01Do you be healthy as you can? Also also also also Frozen Soul
- 53:10put out a brand new song, a pretty grindy death metal song.
- 53:14It's like a minute long, 53 seconds long.
- 53:16They're going on tour soon, opening for Avatar.
- 53:18A lot of Avatar kids are going to learn about Frozen Soul for
- 53:21the first time. They might get punched in the
- 53:23face. We probably could get a Frozen
- 53:25Soul interview at some point soon.
- 53:27A killer song from Frozen Soul from Texas, Buck Ice.
- 53:35And then this is kind of interesting.
- 53:37We told you we were talking about Cliff Burton last week,
- 53:40right? This week was Cliff Burton day
- 53:42on the 10th. Oh, sorry, this is Graham Nash
- 53:46really quick. This is kind of a trend on
- 53:48threads where older rock and and classic rock artists are doing
- 53:54this like friend where they're like telling about themselves.
- 53:57Here's me and it's kind of a bring awareness to sobriety and
- 54:01men's health and mental health especially.
- 54:03So here's Graham Nash, who I did not think he was on threads.
- 54:06Maybe someone posted this for him, but 84 years old, living in
- 54:10New York City, still learning how to live.
- 54:11Honestly, I spent years numbing things I didn't know how to
- 54:14face, carrying pain I never put into songs.
- 54:16Today I'm sober, today I'm healing, still healing, still
- 54:20here. I thought that was great, so I
- 54:22just wanted to mention that for a second.
- 54:23Dillinger says. I predict there will be a new
- 54:25Oath Breaker record. They're already playing gigs, so
- 54:27I think Caro will rejoin them. I don't know if they got a new
- 54:31singer, but I think it's Caro, and I know she's been busy with
- 54:34Aman RA, but yeah. So anyway, now.
- 54:45Oh, this is fun. Turnstile.
- 54:47Boy, these guys won't quit. The last few weeks Brady Ebert
- 54:51of Turnstile calls out his former band for being chills and
- 54:57stealing from charity and being, you know, the virtue signalers
- 55:00and performative. Then he announced his new band
- 55:04the Set. They dropped the new single.
- 55:06And then he started shit talking his own band.
- 55:09And then his band kicked him the fuck out this week.
- 55:12So fuck that guy. And they also have a new single,
- 55:15so don't talk shit. Here's the Cliff Burton blurb.
- 55:19This week was Cliff Burton Day in Castro Valley, CA, right
- 55:23across the Bay from San Francisco.
- 55:25It was pretty cool. Some bands played.
- 55:27It was like a round table of guests.
- 55:30You can go watch that on the Gomez Grip YouTube channel.
- 55:34Gomez Grip, just like it sounds. He is a Castro Valley person and
- 55:41metal scene guy and he is been basically the reason there has
- 55:45been Cliff Burton day. Pretty amazing.
- 55:49Also, Brian Slingle is going to be a guest on the Jim Rome
- 55:53podcast. Jim Rome's one of the biggest
- 55:55sports podcasts. He used to be on ESPN, kind of a
- 55:57Dick, but he's very knowledgeable about sports,
- 56:00especially hockey. You know, the Brian is a massive
- 56:03hockey fan and has one of the biggest personal collections of
- 56:06hockey jerseys in the world at his house.
- 56:11And again, we got the full Record Store Day list now at
- 56:16recordstoreday.com. But Glacially Musical will be
- 56:19breaking down the whole list, the entire list next week.
- 56:23But also, I will be doing an upcoming preview of what my pull
- 56:26list will be for Record Store Day, what my hopeful pull list
- 56:29will be. And then I will do a post Record
- 56:33Store Day share of what I have. So now it's time for New Music
- 56:39Friday. We did this last week.
- 56:42Let's see if we can do it again where I share a place of music.
- 56:47Y'all on TikTok Might be out of luck but what can you do before
- 56:52I run through the new music that came out this week.
- 56:54Not that big a list but a decent list for the 13th of February.
- 57:00Friday the 13th, let's see some stuff.
- 57:05Oh this is a band I really love. Let's see if this is on YouTube
- 57:11on the tube of you. Let's find this bit.
- 57:20Let's see, I had a problem with I had a problem with screen
- 57:28sharing on Zoom this week. Oh, here we go.
- 57:31Ask Bringer Sub Glacial. This is the title track from
- 57:35their their new album that's out today.
- 57:38Let's do a little of this. I'll hit play.
- 57:57OK, pretty damn great. That was fun.
- 58:04Wow, wow, wow, wow. All right, let's do the new
- 58:07Music Friday rundown real quick. That was fun.

- 1:00:27Sun Decay, The Blood Lives Again, So released TX-2 End of
- 1:00:32Us for some Metal Core on Hopeless Records, and probably
- 1:00:36one of the most talked about releases of the week, Worm.
- 1:00:39Necroplace on Century Media Records as a comeback record for
- 1:00:43Worm, but I think was retired for quite a while.
- 1:00:47So with that out of the way, it's the final part of the show
- 1:00:51and it's time for the mailbag. And I have kind of a mailbag
- 1:00:55potpourri today. So I'm going to get rid of this
- 1:00:57and just do the solo view of me. So I have a few things to show
- 1:01:02you. I got contacted by this fancy
- 1:01:05vape company T Vape for two of their products and I'm not going
- 1:01:10to unbox them now, but I am going to do a review for the
- 1:01:13website and future content about this.
- 1:01:16But if you're vaping people, we're vaping people at this
- 1:01:19house. The Arc GT4 by Zeus from the
- 1:01:25company T vape is a plated gold plated vape that will allow you
- 1:01:30to vape both herb and liquids. It sounds like pretty high tech
- 1:01:36falutin stuff. I'm trying to get into more
- 1:01:39product stuff. I talked about these awesome
- 1:01:42NT100 headphones from Rode and my Blue Yeti Rode mics and
- 1:01:47talked about all those things lately and Stream Deck and
- 1:01:50things like that. So they sent us the vape and
- 1:01:52they sent us this cooling diffuser which you put into the
- 1:01:56vape and then draw poles from the diffuser.
- 1:02:01This seems really cool technology.
- 1:02:03I'm really excited to try it out.
- 1:02:05I have some herb here and maybe some liquids that work, but also
- 1:02:11let's do some other things and Kiki's bag of junk.
- 1:02:15I have a couple of T-shirts to share with you.
- 1:02:18I'm not a big Valentine's Day person but just happened to get
- 1:02:23my partner a couple of gifts. Love you Melissa, we got
- 1:02:26matching shirts from Unto Others with his bat.
- 1:02:29Look at this awesome bat design. Really high quality shirt,
- 1:02:32pretty nice price. Unto Others is working on new
- 1:02:36music. I know they finally delivered
- 1:02:38their Halloween to EPS this week after their debacle with the
- 1:02:43vinyl provider. I also got this awesome T-shirt
- 1:02:48from that weird T-shirt shop, the shitty Beetles.
- 1:02:51If you know, you know. If you don't know, let me know.
- 1:02:55But if you know, you know, maybe I'll give a shitty Beetles
- 1:02:58related prize away. Then I got a little delivery of
- 1:03:03some some more purchases, some more vinyl purchases.
- 1:03:11But these are some 7 inches. So I got a 7 inch box set
- 1:03:15collection from Cromax, their 2020 EP all collected as a 7
- 1:03:21inch so 7 inches from a Rising Empire record.
- 1:03:25It's pretty cool. This is all from these vinyls.
- 1:03:27Come to us from the MVD shop that normally has B movies and
- 1:03:32horror movies. Love you too babe.
- 1:03:35So I got this Cromax set which is dope.
- 1:03:39I really would like to interview Harley Crow Mag again.
- 1:03:41Definitely go see his movie that came out last year.
- 1:03:46It was pretty amazing. 2 singles from Rancid's series of singles
- 1:03:51here's Devil's Dance, Clockwork Orange, Emperor's Lapdog in 100
- 1:03:55years, and also Black Lung, Life Won't wait, New Dress and
- 1:04:00Warsaw. I think these were like Outcome,
- 1:04:02the Wolves singles that they put out.
- 1:04:05And then last and not least, the Dahmer's Terror on Wheels.
- 1:04:08Dahmer's have a new song coming out in a few weeks, so I'm kind
- 1:04:11of excited for that. So that's kind of a Pope for me.
- 1:04:14Edition of the Mail Bag this week.
- 1:04:18I have a lot of stuff at home to check and I'm cutting through
- 1:04:21the backlog of things to check. So that is the Mail Bag, which
- 1:04:26means that's the show. Thanks so much for watching.
- 1:04:29It has been a week, let me tell you.
- 1:04:31But I'm grateful for all of you. I'm glad to still be here.
- 1:04:34And as we say every week in the juncture of the show before we
- 1:04:38take it home, it's a tough time in the world.
- 1:04:40So take care of each other, take care of yourselves, and remember
- 1:04:44to stay as metal as humanly possible.
- 1:04:46Be like Corpse Grinder and respect the neck.
- 1:04:51And that is the weekly ritual by Ghost Cult.
- 1:04:54I'm going to dance a jig on the way out.
- 1:04:56Follow at Ghost Cult man peace.
