- 0:00Speaker 1: Track Us the Galaxy's Most Unpredictable Star Trek Podcast.
- 0:15Speaker 2: Hello, and welcome to track Cast the Galaxy Podcast. I
- 0:20Speaker 2: am your host, Dane Lombardo. I am thirty three percent
- 0:24Speaker 2: of the Galaxy's Most Unpredictable Star Trek podcast, and with
- 0:27Speaker 2: you today we have sixty six percent of the.
- 0:31Speaker 1: Galaxy in sixteen. It's like sixteen. I just hit the buttons.
- 0:37Speaker 1: I just hit the buttons.
- 0:38Speaker 2: Man, what's up man?
- 0:40Speaker 1: Not too much.
- 0:40Speaker 2: It's going on with you, you know, trying to do
- 0:44Speaker 2: something different, trying to do the show from inside, trying
- 0:48Speaker 2: to uh use use my wife's laptop, which didn't work
- 0:52Speaker 2: so well. That's why the show is starting.
- 0:54Speaker 1: I like that you got the map behind you, like
- 0:56Speaker 1: you're trying to take over.
- 0:57Speaker 2: That's it. That's uh all the missile sites.
- 1:03Speaker 1: I was ready to go.
- 1:06Speaker 2: You know. A funny story is during the yard with
- 1:10Speaker 2: the yard sale of the summer, while preparing for it,
- 1:12Speaker 2: my wife found this tube with the with the big
- 1:14Speaker 2: giant map of the United States and she went to
- 1:18Speaker 2: put it out and she's like, this has never been opened.
- 1:20Speaker 2: And she went to put it out for sale and
- 1:22Speaker 2: I said, no, no, it has. I started like tracing
- 1:26Speaker 2: all the states that we traveled to as Oh, I
- 1:29Speaker 2: rescued it from the art sale. Just put it up
- 1:31Speaker 2: on the wall in the basement. Somebody would be pissed
- 1:34Speaker 2: if they bought that for a dollar, took it home
- 1:36Speaker 2: and have the states are colored in.
- 1:37Speaker 1: So you know what I've got in a tube in
- 1:40Speaker 1: my garage is.
- 1:43Speaker 2: I don't know if I want to hear it.
- 1:46Speaker 1: Oh no, I think you'll like you know what's in.
- 1:48Speaker 2: The tube my garage?
- 1:50Speaker 1: Oh my god, No, it's it's some old posters. Yeah. Yeah,
- 1:58Speaker 1: I've got one of eighties movie he Man like it's
- 2:03Speaker 1: skeletor Yeah. And then I've got one from the original
- 2:09Speaker 1: Batman from eighty nine, nice batmobile. Yeah, and these are
- 2:14Speaker 1: like original posters from back then. So it's kind of cool.
- 2:17Speaker 1: That's cool.
- 2:19Speaker 2: I'm going out because one of the legs on this
- 2:24Speaker 2: table is shorter.
- 2:24Speaker 1: Than the other, so mm hmm, all about short legs.
- 2:29Speaker 2: Do the old restaurant trick, you know, where you ball
- 2:33Speaker 2: up a napkin.
- 2:33Speaker 1: And yeah, put it under one of the legs and oh.
- 2:38Speaker 2: Yeah, much better look at that.
- 2:40Speaker 1: There you go.
- 2:41Speaker 2: We're high tech.
- 2:43Speaker 1: Yeah, a waiting give us his good morning gents. Glad
- 2:45Speaker 1: I kept the show this morning. Yeah, hey, good morning. So, yeah,
- 2:50Speaker 1: to anything uh fun or interesting this week? Dan? What
- 2:54Speaker 1: did we do?
- 2:55Speaker 2: I went to a flea market yesterday.
- 2:57Speaker 1: Oh that's cool.
- 2:59Speaker 2: Took the family to to a flea market and you know,
- 3:02Speaker 2: nice kids haven't really been to I mean, they've been
- 3:05Speaker 2: to small ones, but it's just.
- 3:07Speaker 1: Like a big one.
- 3:08Speaker 2: Yeah, and it's funny, like the stuff that kids are
- 3:11Speaker 2: amazed by. Oh it's a dad that that whole truck
- 3:16Speaker 2: just sells pickles.
- 3:17Speaker 1: Yep, buddy, that's awesome. So yeah, it turned.
- 3:26Speaker 2: Into an all day thing because it was an hour
- 3:27Speaker 2: drive to get there, and then you know, oh, well
- 3:30Speaker 2: I'm hungry, and so we got pizza afterwards. And and
- 3:35Speaker 2: I know a guy who owns a vintage toy shop
- 3:37Speaker 2: about ten minutes from where we were, so you know,
- 3:39Speaker 2: we went there and right and then by the time
- 3:42Speaker 2: we got home it was just turning. It was supposed
- 3:45Speaker 2: to be a couple of hours turned into an all
- 3:46Speaker 2: day thing. But it was fine, you know what I mean,
- 3:49Speaker 2: anything to get these kids out of the house.
- 3:51Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, we went to uh to the nephew's soccer games,
- 4:00Speaker 1: and of course yesterday is the day that it decided
- 4:02Speaker 1: to turn into fall, so it was like bitterly cold, rainy,
- 4:07Speaker 1: and the one who's ready for it. Yeah, so they're
- 4:11Speaker 1: out there loving it because they're running around they feel fine,
- 4:14Speaker 1: but all the parents are miserable. All just cuddled up.
- 4:17Speaker 1: So uh. And then each game, like one was at nine,
- 4:20Speaker 1: the other one was at noon, so there's like a
- 4:22Speaker 1: two hour wait in between the two. So we went
- 4:26Speaker 1: to a local coffee shop and that's when the boys
- 4:29Speaker 1: sat me down and they were like, because they called
- 4:32Speaker 1: me uncle Dan, they go, Uncle Dan, what are we
- 4:35Speaker 1: gonna do for your birthday? Like it's important, Like we're
- 4:41Speaker 1: meeting this coffee shop to discuss business.
- 4:43Speaker 2: Now, so what's you decide on?
- 4:46Speaker 1: So we have an independent arcade out here called the
- 4:50Speaker 1: Jedi Alliance. It's inside of an old church, Like it
- 4:55Speaker 1: looks like an old church, right, but it's a giant
- 4:57Speaker 1: arcade and it was recently by Newsweek the second best
- 5:01Speaker 1: arcade in the country. I think number one is the
- 5:05Speaker 1: Galaxy and Ghost in Chicago. But that's where we're gonna go.
- 5:11Speaker 1: It's eighteen bucks unlimited play. You just go and play
- 5:14Speaker 1: as much as you want. It's a bunch of old
- 5:16Speaker 1: stand up games, nothing new that you have a whole
- 5:19Speaker 1: like a whole section of pinball too, so nice. Yeah,
- 5:25Speaker 1: the oldest cred about pinball, so I'm surprised by that.
- 5:29Speaker 2: But my son, my son discovered pinball this summer.
- 5:32Speaker 1: Oh nice.
- 5:34Speaker 2: When we were on vacation. He was like, what's this.
- 5:36Speaker 2: This is video games for four video games sort of thing.
- 5:39Speaker 1: Yeah. I think your son and my oldest nephew right
- 5:43Speaker 1: around the same age.
- 5:44Speaker 2: My son, I'll be thirteen in about two weeks.
- 5:46Speaker 1: Yeah, and my oldest nephew is fourteen.
- 5:48Speaker 2: So yeah, so yeah, there probably it's a lot of
- 5:51Speaker 2: the same dumb shit.
- 5:53Speaker 1: Yeah, Minecraft, a lot of Minecraft.
- 5:56Speaker 2: Minecraft roadblocks, Yeah, Minecraft roadblocks, and YouTube.
- 6:02Speaker 1: That's uh yeah, that's a trifecta. Yeah, that is the trifecta. Yeah. Well, uh,
- 6:12Speaker 1: we should probably get into the news a lot of
- 6:15Speaker 1: things we probably don't want to talk about. Oh, and
- 6:20Speaker 1: being that this is a supplemental because we're gonna talk
- 6:22Speaker 1: about Peacemaker, we'll do the supplemental the entertainment news. So
- 6:27Speaker 1: all right, all right, So we do have a little
- 6:35Speaker 1: bit of Star Trek news because the New York City
- 6:37Speaker 1: Comic Con is going on right now, so they did
- 6:40Speaker 1: have uh, you know, quite a few announcements about Star Trek.
- 6:47Speaker 1: So of the big things we got announced was a
- 6:50Speaker 1: new trailer for Star Trek Academy, that show's coming, and
- 6:55Speaker 1: uh oh another Papa Bad. So we had a new trailer.
- 6:59Speaker 1: It came out out. Reviews are mixed. I did see
- 7:03Speaker 1: a lot of people still saying, hey, where's my legacy?
- 7:05Speaker 1: But I also did see a lot of people saying, hey,
- 7:07Speaker 1: this looks better than I thought it would be. So
- 7:11Speaker 1: I don't know. I mean, it looks like a show.
- 7:15Speaker 1: I hope to be pleasantly surprised, but we'll see.
- 7:19Speaker 2: I uh, you know, I watched every episode of Discovery.
- 7:23Speaker 1: Yep, I watched it.
- 7:25Speaker 2: No one can say I didn't give it a chance.
- 7:28Speaker 2: Every single episode of Discovery, Yeah right. Some of them
- 7:33Speaker 2: were homework, Well they were all Homer.
- 7:37Speaker 3: You know.
- 7:38Speaker 2: There's a few that I watched twice. Actually, no, actually
- 7:42Speaker 2: I watched all of them, almost all of them twice
- 7:44Speaker 2: because in preparation for the last season.
- 7:47Speaker 1: Yeah, that's right, you watched.
- 7:49Speaker 2: I rewatched the whole thing. So no one can no
- 7:52Speaker 2: one can ever say I didn't give it a chance.
- 7:58Speaker 2: I'll give this a chance, too, but if it's if
- 8:02Speaker 2: it's terrible, I don't know if I'm gonna watch the
- 8:04Speaker 2: whole thing. I don't know if I could do it.
- 8:08Speaker 1: Yeah, no, I feel you there, I don't know if
- 8:10Speaker 1: I can do it. We did also get a premiere date.
- 8:12Speaker 1: It's going to premiere January fifteenth, So that's really just
- 8:15Speaker 1: right around the corner it is. Yeah, it's yeah, it's coming.
- 8:20Speaker 1: So so school will be in session soon, you know.
- 8:27Speaker 1: All a waiting game says, the trailer looks so bad.
- 8:31Speaker 1: If you can't make this look good in a trailer
- 8:33Speaker 1: of what hope do you have for the show? Yeah,
- 8:36Speaker 1: I don't know. I did notice that there were there
- 8:41Speaker 1: were negative comments on the YouTube channel, and then later
- 8:46Speaker 1: those YouTube negative comments were gone, so I don't know
- 8:49Speaker 1: if they were deleting them probably or maybe they just
- 8:52Speaker 1: got buried in the algorithm. I don't know, so it's
- 8:56Speaker 1: hard to say for sure. I don't want to flat
- 8:58Speaker 1: out say there they were delete, but they were gone.
- 9:03Speaker 2: I'm not looking forward two. What I feel might be
- 9:11Speaker 2: the wo'ssification of cleons.
- 9:16Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I guess we'll see you know, yeah.
- 9:19Speaker 2: Like, are these are these the like? Like have they
- 9:23Speaker 2: equated laonicity with like toxic masculinity and we have to
- 9:30Speaker 2: do away with toxic masculinity, so we're doing away with
- 9:33Speaker 2: toxic klaonicity or I don't know these words are really working.
- 9:38Speaker 1: But yeah, I was gonna say, it feels more like
- 9:40Speaker 1: the the the harmonization, right, like the blending. You blend
- 9:47Speaker 1: it so much that it doesn't it's not distinct anymore. Yeah,
- 9:51Speaker 1: you know, but we'll see, well, we'll see what happens.
- 9:56Speaker 1: We also did again get announced for Star Trek Surfleet
- 10:00Speaker 1: Academy that Stephen Colbert will be part of the show.
- 10:04Speaker 1: He's going to be a computer voice. Yeah, he's going
- 10:09Speaker 1: to be the Digital Dean is what they call him,
- 10:12Speaker 1: making announcements. So I imagine just randomly in the background,
- 10:16Speaker 1: you'll hear his voice, like you know, the the Erosions
- 10:20Speaker 1: go to Pod four for gym class, stuff like that.
- 10:25Speaker 2: So I'd be interested to know if that was always
- 10:30Speaker 2: a thing, or if this was something that was added
- 10:36Speaker 2: last minute. Is this that is in season one that's
- 10:42Speaker 2: not going to be in season two because he's feuding
- 10:46Speaker 2: with CBS right now. I mean what, I'd be interested
- 10:51Speaker 2: to know what the what the story is.
- 10:53Speaker 1: I would love to know that too. I imagine, really
- 10:57Speaker 1: all it took was him going down to a st
- 11:00Speaker 1: video for maybe a day or two reading like eight
- 11:02Speaker 1: lines and now he's done. Yeah, and so it really
- 11:06Speaker 1: could have been anybody. And you know it would have
- 11:12Speaker 1: been funnier if they've got like new people all the time,
- 11:14Speaker 1: like really distinct voices, like get bobcat Goldwyn one day,
- 11:19Speaker 1: get Paul Shore another.
- 11:21Speaker 2: And and sa again he's he's the narrator or he's
- 11:24Speaker 2: the voice of a computer.
- 11:25Speaker 1: What does he he's the voice of the computer they're
- 11:28Speaker 1: calling the digital dean that basically makes announcements for the
- 11:32Speaker 1: school for Sperfleet Academy.
- 11:35Speaker 2: So basically what they should be using all of the
- 11:41Speaker 2: clips they have of Major Barrett.
- 11:43Speaker 1: Roddenberry for yeah, yeah, so there you go, or or
- 11:51Speaker 1: you or you could have got you know what while
- 11:52Speaker 1: he's still alive William Shatner. That would have been cool too. No,
- 11:58Speaker 1: they should do let's say they.
- 12:00Speaker 2: Should run they should run forty years of Casey's Top
- 12:03Speaker 2: forty through the AI generator and have Casey case to it.
- 12:10Speaker 1: That's kind of awesome, or you know what, see if
- 12:13Speaker 1: you can license it from from Disney and get James
- 12:17Speaker 1: Earl Jones boys, if Drs Vader making announcements.
- 12:21Speaker 2: There you go.
- 12:22Speaker 1: Yeah whatever. So yeah, we also did get a clip
- 12:27Speaker 1: from Strange New Worlds that I think was the most
- 12:31Speaker 1: star treking clip that they could possibly shell out, especially
- 12:34Speaker 1: in the wakes of the critiques of season three, like
- 12:39Speaker 1: they're just trapped in in a red hole, in a
- 12:41Speaker 1: black hole and trying to get out and trying to
- 12:44Speaker 1: figure out a mission and get out of it, and
- 12:46Speaker 1: they even talk about like, oh, we're gonna go visit
- 12:48Speaker 1: a Strange New World like basically just screaming to the fans, Hey,
- 12:53Speaker 1: don't forget about us, please, please, we promise you will
- 12:56Speaker 1: do better next season.
- 12:57Speaker 2: Yeah, we'll do better.
- 12:58Speaker 1: Yeah, they're drying. They're drying, says Beta.
- 13:05Speaker 2: Klingons is what he's called.
- 13:07Speaker 1: Maybe I like that idea. Oh man, the woodification of
- 13:14Speaker 1: Klingons became a long time ago. Yeah, you could argue
- 13:17Speaker 1: that too, honestly, I mean.
- 13:20Speaker 2: Well, I mean yeah, true.
- 13:31Speaker 1: Yeah. Our next news story comes to us from uh
- 13:36Speaker 1: NPR because we love NPR. No, it's fine, But Colin
- 13:44Speaker 1: Hanks is talking a little bit more about his recent
- 13:48Speaker 1: documentary about John Candy, saying, sorry, Dad, John Candy was
- 13:52Speaker 1: the nicest guy in Hollywood. Colin Hanks is the son
- 13:55Speaker 1: of Tom Hanks. Okay, yeah, so I don't know if
- 13:59Speaker 1: you've seen, but it is on Amazon Prime right now,
- 14:03Speaker 1: the New.
- 14:05Speaker 2: I just you're gonna laugh at me. I just got
- 14:09Speaker 2: Prime Video for the first time this week. My wife
- 14:14Speaker 2: for years shared an Amazon count with her sister, and
- 14:17Speaker 2: because of that, we didn't have we didn't we had
- 14:20Speaker 2: Amazon Prime. We didn't have Prime Video. Okay, and they
- 14:24Speaker 2: changed the they changed their terms of service beginning I
- 14:28Speaker 2: think next month or something where you can't you can't
- 14:31Speaker 2: split the Prime account between households. So I said, well,
- 14:35Speaker 2: just spin it off and get your own and I
- 14:36Speaker 2: can finally watch this show, The Boys that I've heard
- 14:39Speaker 2: so much about. And uh so I started that last
- 14:43Speaker 2: week or earlier this week. I uh so far. I mean,
- 14:48Speaker 2: I'm only like two or three episodes in.
- 14:51Speaker 1: Yeah, but.
- 14:53Speaker 2: It's pretty cool, right, you know. I like it.
- 14:58Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 14:58Speaker 2: I'm usually not not into like the adultification of superheroes,
- 15:04Speaker 2: but these are made up superheroes for this show. They're
- 15:07Speaker 2: not really converting something else that's that's already out there.
- 15:10Speaker 1: So yeah, you know, I'm good with it.
- 15:15Speaker 2: As we're as we're doing a supplemental on an adultified, right,
- 15:22Speaker 2: superhero I just realized. But we'll get we'll get into
- 15:25Speaker 2: that too, and why this is why this is okay?
- 15:27Speaker 1: Also yeah, well and then the the other thing too
- 15:32Speaker 1: about the Boys is they have that spin off show
- 15:35Speaker 1: gen V, which they really do treat like a like
- 15:39Speaker 1: a side comic, but it does factor into the main storyline.
- 15:43Speaker 1: So is that the animated one. No, no, no, that's a
- 15:46Speaker 1: whole other thing. But gen V is like a superhero college. Okay, yeah,
- 15:53Speaker 1: but it, like the main cast do show up. It's
- 15:57Speaker 1: really good. So oh yeah, and a waiting game is
- 16:00Speaker 1: right too. Invincible is good. Season two is weaker, but
- 16:03Speaker 1: other seasons are good. Yeah, that's true. Invincible is really good.
- 16:08Speaker 2: I have not seen Reacher. He's asking about Reacher.
- 16:11Speaker 1: Oh, I have not seen.
- 16:13Speaker 2: I'm aware of it. I've seen some clips. Yeah, that
- 16:17Speaker 2: dude is built and smacks people around.
- 16:20Speaker 1: Yeah, he's a giant dude. He's a giant dude. But anyways,
- 16:26Speaker 1: John Candy, his documentary is on Amazon Prime.
- 16:29Speaker 2: It's called like, yeah, yeah, I saw the I saw
- 16:33Speaker 2: the I saw an ad for it.
- 16:35Speaker 1: That's that's what Okay, that's what got on that.
- 16:38Speaker 2: Yeah, growing up John Candy, I mean that dude is hilarious.
- 16:43Speaker 1: That dude was the man back in the day. Yeah,
- 16:45Speaker 1: he was in all this stuff, like it was great.
- 16:49Speaker 1: I know, our target demo. That's why I put this
- 16:51Speaker 1: story in. We all we all grew up with John
- 16:53Speaker 1: Candy watching.
- 16:56Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a shame we lost him.
- 16:58Speaker 1: Yeah, for sure. It's got clips from his from his
- 17:03Speaker 1: his funeral, It's got a ton of interviews with people
- 17:06Speaker 1: talking about him, so it's out there. It's supposed to
- 17:09Speaker 1: be really good. I have yet to watch it, but
- 17:12Speaker 1: I do plan on seeing it. You know, John Candy
- 17:15Speaker 1: was a pretty big deal in my life too.
- 17:17Speaker 2: So you know, I honestly I never saw his last movie,
- 17:21Speaker 2: the one that he I think he died while it
- 17:23Speaker 2: was still in production and they and they use the
- 17:25Speaker 2: body doubles and stuff. I think it was called Wagons East. Yeah, yeah,
- 17:31Speaker 2: never watched it.
- 17:32Speaker 1: I watched it when it came out. Yeah, And like
- 17:38Speaker 1: I was a kid then, right, it was like four
- 17:39Speaker 1: I was like fourteen, and I remember not liking it.
- 17:42Speaker 1: I don't remember the movie really, yeah, but I remember
- 17:45Speaker 1: being like bored by it.
- 17:47Speaker 2: I think part of me doesn't want to because then
- 17:51Speaker 2: like in my mind, it's over. Yeah, see them in
- 17:55Speaker 2: them all.
- 17:56Speaker 1: Yeah, although I've been wanting to watch The Great out
- 18:00Speaker 1: Doors again for some reason. I do remember loving that movie. Yeah,
- 18:06Speaker 1: so maybe i'll watch it again in one of these days.
- 18:09Speaker 2: I think, what what what's her name is in that?
- 18:12Speaker 2: Heather Grant? Oh?
- 18:14Speaker 1: Really? Yeah, I think it's well as a kid.
- 18:18Speaker 2: No, I think she's because that was around the same
- 18:21Speaker 2: time as License Licensed to Drive came out.
- 18:24Speaker 1: Oh that's right.
- 18:25Speaker 2: Yeah, I think she was like the girl that his
- 18:28Speaker 2: son met at the at the pool hall or something.
- 18:32Speaker 2: If unless I'm confusing her with somebody else.
- 18:34Speaker 1: But no, no, no, you might be right.
- 18:39Speaker 2: No, what's up lips?
- 18:41Speaker 1: Yeah, great, yeah, says it's another girl. So it's another girl,
- 18:48Speaker 1: all right, yeah, alright, trust her?
- 18:52Speaker 2: Okay, fine and fine, I'll go watch License to Drive again.
- 18:59Speaker 1: Oh well, And speaking of a fix, especially somebody in
- 19:02Speaker 1: a bad, bad spot, our last news story comes to
- 19:05Speaker 1: us from people and says, and so Eddie, Eddie Winslow
- 19:10Speaker 1: is in big, big trouble. I don't know if we've
- 19:13Speaker 1: seen this, but Family Matters star Darius muc Cray under
- 19:18Speaker 1: fugitive arrest near US Mexican border, held without bail on
- 19:24Speaker 1: felony charge. He was taken into custody October eighth, so yeah,
- 19:30Speaker 1: I don't think Carl can help him out with this one.
- 19:35Speaker 1: He was arrested with the out of state charge of
- 19:37Speaker 1: a felony warrant. We don't know what that charge is
- 19:40Speaker 1: right now, but he is being held without bail currently
- 19:44Speaker 1: in San Diego. Apparently this is the third time he's
- 19:48Speaker 1: been arrested since twenty fifteen. So yeah, his next court
- 19:54Speaker 1: ate is this Wednesday, October fifteenth. So Eddie, come on, man,
- 19:58Speaker 1: get it together. Yeah, Arkle would say very horrible things
- 20:05Speaker 1: about you right now. Man, it's not good. I just
- 20:08Speaker 1: hope that you did not do that. Mm hmm yeah.
- 20:13Speaker 1: So all right, Oh no, he went black screen on me.
- 20:19Speaker 2: I'm good.
- 20:20Speaker 1: Sorry, all right. I thought you couldn't handle Eddie. You
- 20:24Speaker 1: just lost it, couldn't handle it, You couldn't handle it. Yeah.
- 20:31Speaker 2: Darius McCray fan club president.
- 20:33Speaker 1: That's right. Who isn't it giant Darius McGray fan club president.
- 20:38Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, Whody and the Blowfish is just my
- 20:40Speaker 2: favorite band.
- 20:41Speaker 1: So that's another Darius. I know, I know, I know.
- 20:49Speaker 1: That's all the Darius. I know all the two.
- 20:51Speaker 2: That's that's both dariuses Darius Darry hair, I don't know,
- 20:56Speaker 2: let's do yeah.
- 21:02Speaker 1: No, that's a fan club, the Darry All right, let's
- 21:08Speaker 1: let's get into supplement, all right, all right, so we
- 21:20Speaker 1: are we.
- 21:20Speaker 2: Doing the dance? Are we starting with.
- 21:22Speaker 1: The oh yeah and then the yeah? We need to
- 21:28Speaker 1: play all the all the glam rock that they play. Yeah,
- 21:33Speaker 1: so we are talking Peacemaker. We just wrapped up the
- 21:38Speaker 1: second season and apparently this will be the final season.
- 21:42Speaker 1: James Gunn has said that there will be no season three.
- 21:47Speaker 1: So we had two seasons of the show. It's interesting
- 21:51Speaker 1: how it hopped universes. I mean, this this season had
- 21:54Speaker 1: a lot to do because it had to explain kind
- 21:57Speaker 1: of our new DCU, had to set up the future
- 22:01Speaker 1: of it, and it had to be a show unto itself.
- 22:05Speaker 1: So there was a lot going on for this little show,
- 22:13Speaker 1: and it I think it pulled it off. I think
- 22:16Speaker 1: I know that the season Falalite has been getting mixed
- 22:19Speaker 1: reviews from fans. Some people loved it, some people hated it. Yep, okay,
- 22:24Speaker 1: so you're one of them that did not like it,
- 22:26Speaker 1: that's fine. I I think I agree with one of
- 22:30Speaker 1: the comments that we had in our group. Devall said
- 22:32Speaker 1: that season or episode seven was the real season finale.
- 22:37Speaker 1: This season or episode eight was like the epilogue. I
- 22:41Speaker 1: kind of think that too.
- 22:43Speaker 2: I and I agree with that. And here's the thing, Yeah,
- 22:47Speaker 2: they should have had then, they should have had seven episode,
- 22:51Speaker 2: a seven episode season, okay, with a ninety minute finale, Yeah,
- 22:59Speaker 2: because episode was only thirty minutes. Yeah, it was really short.
- 23:06Speaker 2: It was really short. An episode eight, which was which
- 23:11Speaker 2: I agree was all epilogue stuff. Excuse me, was twice
- 23:15Speaker 2: as long as that. Yeah, in episode seven, so much,
- 23:21Speaker 2: so much was packed into that episode. So much happened. Yeah,
- 23:26Speaker 2: so much happened in that thirty minutes that you know
- 23:32Speaker 2: it it ended, and you're like, I can't wait to
- 23:34Speaker 2: see the rest of this next week. And there just
- 23:36Speaker 2: wasn't right where where I think the seven days of
- 23:41Speaker 2: waiting for it was the problem. Whereas if they had
- 23:45Speaker 2: just showed seven and eight back to back at the
- 23:48Speaker 2: same time, maybe maybe it would have been better received.
- 23:54Speaker 2: I thought, for sure, we're going to see Keith again
- 23:56Speaker 2: the next the next episode, Yeah, because you know it's
- 24:01Speaker 2: there's unresolved stuff theah, right, you know, he wants to
- 24:07Speaker 2: murder Chris in the same way which you know there's
- 24:11Speaker 2: a story to be told there. Chris murdered his brother
- 24:14Speaker 2: Keith in this timeline. In the other timeline, Keith wants
- 24:18Speaker 2: to murder Keith. Chris murdered his brother Keith. He didn't
- 24:21Speaker 2: murder him. Chris killed his brother Keith. Yeah, Yeah, killed
- 24:26Speaker 2: his brother Keith in the in the regular timeline, feels
- 24:30Speaker 2: intense guilt about it, and in the other timeline, Keith
- 24:36Speaker 2: is gonna Keith wants to murder Chris. There's a there's
- 24:41Speaker 2: a story there, There's there's something. Yeah, they just kind
- 24:45Speaker 2: of ignored it. We had an hour of them going
- 24:50Speaker 2: to Okay, now we're on the stupid planet. Now we're
- 24:53Speaker 2: on another stupid.
- 24:54Speaker 1: Planet, which, from what I understand this is from the comics.
- 25:01Speaker 1: There is a whole comic storyline where they put all
- 25:04Speaker 1: the all the bad guys on one planet. They end
- 25:08Speaker 1: up training it into mad Max style, and then from
- 25:11Speaker 1: their dark side goes after that planet, and then from
- 25:14Speaker 1: there they spill back into their prime universe, which sets
- 25:19Speaker 1: up one of the Infinite Crisis or one of the Crisis.
- 25:24Speaker 1: There's so many of them.
- 25:26Speaker 2: I just feel like there's a lot. There's a lot
- 25:31Speaker 2: that they couldn't have that they could have done, and
- 25:32Speaker 2: they just didn't.
- 25:34Speaker 1: I think part yeah, Keith.
- 25:37Speaker 2: Still has access to the.
- 25:42Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, because on his side it's still open.
- 25:45Speaker 2: Yes, on his side, it's still open. Right, he did survive.
- 25:50Speaker 2: They made sure to show us that he he survived.
- 25:56Speaker 2: You know, if they were going to close the book
- 25:57Speaker 2: on that dimension, the way to do that is, you know,
- 26:02Speaker 2: Amelia kills him and then hops through the door and
- 26:05Speaker 2: it's and it's done. Yeah, literally close the door on
- 26:09Speaker 2: that dimension. They didn't do anything sure show us that
- 26:12Speaker 2: he was still alive, and then and then nothing unless
- 26:16Speaker 2: all right, well you know what what if Keith finds
- 26:20Speaker 2: Chris in that other world?
- 26:23Speaker 1: Well he's looking for I's gonna happen.
- 26:25Speaker 2: But if but but when? What? What show? What movie?
- 26:28Speaker 2: Is that gonna happen? And they're saying that there's no
- 26:31Speaker 2: there's no season three of this show, which means if
- 26:33Speaker 2: we see these characters again, they're going to be popping
- 26:38Speaker 2: up in other people's shows, other people's movies, other people's stories.
- 26:41Speaker 2: They're not gonna how can they then be the main story? Right,
- 26:45Speaker 2: they're doing a peacemaker movie. I don't think I don't
- 26:49Speaker 2: think that's gonna work either, because the tone of this show,
- 26:54Speaker 2: I think is not what you would put into a
- 26:58Speaker 2: movie theater and put out to the world that hey,
- 27:01Speaker 2: this is connected to the new DCU, So take your
- 27:04Speaker 2: take your seven year old who loved Superman to go
- 27:07Speaker 2: see this.
- 27:08Speaker 1: Well, so we do know that the next big thing
- 27:12Speaker 1: is Man of Tomorrow, which is not necessarily a sequel
- 27:16Speaker 1: to Superman, but a Superman and Lex Luthor team up movie.
- 27:20Speaker 1: The the estimate is, or the belief is that they
- 27:23Speaker 1: will be fighting Brainiac. Coming together to fight Brainiac. I
- 27:28Speaker 1: think what you could do since you're setting up all
- 27:30Speaker 1: these multi portals instead of Brainiac being only tied to
- 27:34Speaker 1: one universe, and he shows up and he's collecting from
- 27:38Speaker 1: every world. He collects from every universe, right, Yeah, and
- 27:42Speaker 1: then so he's an interdimensional threat, and that's why you
- 27:46Speaker 1: need Lex because he knows about this technology, and you
- 27:50Speaker 1: need Superman to fight him. So that's why they come together,
- 27:54Speaker 1: and so that would yeah.
- 27:55Speaker 2: I'm sorry, I'm sorry God, I was gonna say.
- 27:58Speaker 1: And then that's why Salvation gets brought in as well,
- 28:03Speaker 1: because it's another planet that could be potentially threatened by
- 28:07Speaker 1: a Brainiac and Superman won't let the bad guys be
- 28:10Speaker 1: killed because he's not that way. We've seen that.
- 28:13Speaker 2: Yeah, so who's the guy who played Keang that got fired?
- 28:18Speaker 2: And then like he was right? I think he was
- 28:21Speaker 2: found not guilty on whatever he was worsted for. And
- 28:24Speaker 2: you know his careers, Oh oh.
- 28:25Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah yeah, Jonathan Majors.
- 28:28Speaker 2: Yeah, they should make him brain.
- 28:31Speaker 1: That would be hilarious. That would be hilarious.
- 28:36Speaker 3: I mean, James Gunn has no problem you know, stealing
- 28:40Speaker 3: actors from from or alluring I should say, luring actors
- 28:44Speaker 3: away from Marvel or actors he's worked with before that moment.
- 28:47Speaker 1: Well, he did mention that he had talked to Ryan
- 28:51Speaker 1: Reynolds about using Deadpool just like they open a doorway
- 28:55Speaker 1: and there's Deadpool, just like a waven well and then
- 29:01Speaker 1: and then they would trade, right because like in either's
- 29:03Speaker 1: in an either uh what is the Secret Wars or
- 29:06Speaker 1: or Doom Doomsday, they're gonna be opening different dimensions. You
- 29:11Speaker 1: could open like open one area and they're Superman or Peacemaker.
- 29:15Speaker 1: You know. So yeah, they had talked about that.
- 29:18Speaker 2: But so it's weird though because in episode seven they
- 29:25Speaker 2: reference to Marvel when vigil Anti and vigil Anti did
- 29:28Speaker 2: the finger guns at each other. They were like, hey,
- 29:31Speaker 2: we're doing the Spider Man meme, and uh, you know,
- 29:35Speaker 2: Marvel has already acknowledged that this Sam Rai Meet Spider
- 29:40Speaker 2: Man movies take place in the MCU multiverse, where it
- 29:45Speaker 2: may compare Peter to Superman. So I think Marvel exists
- 29:53Speaker 2: as comic books in the DCU, and DC exists as
- 29:57Speaker 2: comic books in the Marvel universe.
- 29:59Speaker 1: Yeah. I was gonna say, isn't that the thing? Yeah? Yeah, yeah,
- 30:08Speaker 1: A waiting game says, is it true? The next movie
- 30:10Speaker 1: is gonna be Supergirl. Yeah, yeah, and Jason Momoa's Lobo
- 30:15Speaker 1: is going to be in that. I'm excited about that.
- 30:17Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, that's who we should have played from the beginning.
- 30:21Speaker 1: Oh absolutely, absolutely, yeah. But he'll he'll make a great Lobo.
- 30:28Speaker 1: That's that. Supergirl I think is gonna be a lot
- 30:30Speaker 1: of fun. That comic is really good. So but yeah,
- 30:35Speaker 1: Peacemaker overall, I liked the season. I thought it was good.
- 30:41Speaker 1: I thought it was funny that we went to uh
- 30:44Speaker 1: dimension X where the Nazis won and Peacemaker at first
- 30:48Speaker 1: thought it was like the greatest thing, like I love
- 30:52Speaker 1: it here, Like oh god, I.
- 30:55Speaker 2: Like how at a by I think she was talking
- 31:01Speaker 2: to Judo Master. She's like, I never I never said
- 31:04Speaker 2: he was smart.
- 31:06Speaker 1: Yeah he's got a good heart. Yeah yeah, good boy.
- 31:11Speaker 2: When Amelia says to to to Chris, how did you
- 31:15Speaker 2: not notice this this.
- 31:16Speaker 1: Mural of uh yeah, gianta Hitler Murrell.
- 31:22Speaker 2: It turns around and it's like it's like the whole
- 31:24Speaker 2: wall in the office. How do you not notice that?
- 31:27Speaker 1: Yeah? Because because he's an idiot, he's.
- 31:29Speaker 2: Laser focused on certain things.
- 31:33Speaker 1: Oh man, Yeah, when.
- 31:38Speaker 2: I have to say, I'm gonna I'm gonna say some
- 31:41Speaker 2: things right now. You may not like it. There may
- 31:45Speaker 2: be there may be some hurt feelings. I have a
- 31:51Speaker 2: pretty opinion of professional wrestling. Oh no, I I think it's.
- 32:00Speaker 1: On what.
- 32:04Speaker 2: No, but hear me out?
- 32:06Speaker 1: Okay, okay.
- 32:07Speaker 2: Because of that, I have pretty low expectation expectations from
- 32:17Speaker 2: wrestlers who become actors.
- 32:20Speaker 1: Right.
- 32:23Speaker 2: The Rock is a pretty terrible actor. Yeah he's He's
- 32:27Speaker 2: made a gazillion dollars, but you know he's he's a
- 32:30Speaker 2: pretty terrible actor.
- 32:33Speaker 1: Jay has been shows over his voice.
- 32:39Speaker 2: Dave Batista. I don't know if he's a good actors.
- 32:42Speaker 2: The only thing I know him from is Guardians of
- 32:46Speaker 2: the Galaxy where he's playing that specific character who has
- 32:51Speaker 2: a very specific delivery style of all of his lines,
- 32:55Speaker 2: So you know, I don't know how he is in
- 32:59Speaker 2: other things. John Cena. My first exposure to John Cena
- 33:03Speaker 2: as an actor was probably around it's probably around two
- 33:07Speaker 2: thousand and nine, a twenty ten ish. We went to
- 33:11Speaker 2: the drive in theater, which is usually a double feature,
- 33:14Speaker 2: and he saw something I don't remember what it was.
- 33:18Speaker 2: And the second movie was a movie called The Marine
- 33:22Speaker 2: and oh God, yes, and he was it was a
- 33:25Speaker 2: star And I watched about the first five minutes of
- 33:31Speaker 2: it and I turned to my wife and I said,
- 33:33Speaker 2: we can go. It was just, yeah, his acting was
- 33:38Speaker 2: so bad, so bad. Fast forward when I saw a
- 33:43Speaker 2: suicide squad, I was like, all right, you know whatever,
- 33:49Speaker 2: he was kind of the Peacemaker in that show. Was
- 33:57Speaker 2: like his bravado was so over the time and and
- 34:01Speaker 2: fake that I couldn't distinguish it from bad acting. How
- 34:05Speaker 2: much of this is the character is awful, and how
- 34:10Speaker 2: much of it is the actor is awful? It was
- 34:12Speaker 2: it was tough to tell.
- 34:14Speaker 1: It was very wrestler. Yeah.
- 34:17Speaker 2: Season one of Peacemaker. I don't know if you recall
- 34:23Speaker 2: I watched it on a whim and I was like
- 34:26Speaker 2: ashamed at how much I was enjoying it. And I
- 34:30Speaker 2: really remember this, I really enjoyed it a lot. I
- 34:36Speaker 2: don't There was so many good things about that show
- 34:40Speaker 2: that I don't particularly think John Cena was what drew
- 34:46Speaker 2: me to it or made me think that it was great. Yeah, yeah,
- 34:52Speaker 2: stay on board, I'm coming to them, coming to the point.
- 34:56Speaker 2: I'm coming to the point. I don't don't know if
- 35:01Speaker 2: he has retained a professional acting coach or what mm hmm,
- 35:07Speaker 2: but his skills as an actor this season are thousands
- 35:15Speaker 2: of percent better. Yeah, there than when I drove away
- 35:21Speaker 2: from that theater fifteen years ago. And I and I
- 35:26Speaker 2: tip my hat to John Cena when his friends were
- 35:30Speaker 2: stabbing his brother to death m hm, and he just
- 35:35Speaker 2: screamed in angity for them to stop.
- 35:37Speaker 1: Like I felt that. Yeah, I felt the man I felt.
- 35:43Speaker 2: I'm sitting there like, holy shit, holy shit. I was
- 35:46Speaker 2: on the edge of my seat.
- 35:48Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 35:48Speaker 2: So I still don't like wrestling, but yeah, but you
- 35:55Speaker 2: know what, I'm impressed with John Cena. And if I
- 36:00Speaker 2: ever run into him at an airport or something, I'll probably.
- 36:04Speaker 1: I'll probably blas private man he will never run into him.
- 36:07Speaker 2: Either of I see all these videos if people running
- 36:09Speaker 2: into him places.
- 36:10Speaker 1: That's true, that's true.
- 36:11Speaker 2: Let me alone and have a lunch with my friend.
- 36:13Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, you know I will say this,
- 36:17Speaker 1: uh being being a fan of his for a while now,
- 36:22Speaker 1: the the journey you have taken is very similar to
- 36:26Speaker 1: the journey that pro wrestling fans have taken. Yeah, he was.
- 36:31Speaker 1: He was the man from early two thousand and on
- 36:34Speaker 1: right or well mid two thousands on and and people
- 36:38Speaker 1: did not like him because the ww was shoving him
- 36:41Speaker 1: down our throats. They were always putting the championship on him,
- 36:45Speaker 1: always like like you could not beat Sina. People called
- 36:48Speaker 1: him Super Sena. He does like five moves before he
- 36:54Speaker 1: gets to his finisher, so they called it the five
- 36:56Speaker 1: moves of Doom. So like people, people hated it, right,
- 37:00Speaker 1: It just they did not want this guy. He was
- 37:03Speaker 1: also kind of like, you know, a little a little
- 37:06Speaker 1: cheesy and with his with his T shirts and his
- 37:09Speaker 1: matching teach hat looking looking like a giant toddler with
- 37:13Speaker 1: his shorts. People just did not like this guy. But
- 37:18Speaker 1: over the years he won people over. People realize, oh
- 37:23Speaker 1: my god, this guy's actually really good. And it wasn't
- 37:27Speaker 1: until he originally left to go to Hollywood and kind
- 37:29Speaker 1: of became a part timer that people were like, oh
- 37:32Speaker 1: my god, this guy's actually amazing. And I think he
- 37:35Speaker 1: did say that he did get an acting coach for sure,
- 37:38Speaker 1: because he's one of these guys that no matter what
- 37:40Speaker 1: he does, he wants to do it to the degree, right.
- 37:46Speaker 1: He has mentioned that in multiple interviews. But yeah, I'm
- 37:50Speaker 1: very impressed with him. I think if you watch other
- 37:54Speaker 1: Batista stuff, other stuff he's been in, he's a phenomenal actor.
- 37:58Speaker 1: Like if you're impressed with seene H, you're gonna be
- 38:01Speaker 1: really impressed with Dave Batista.
- 38:03Speaker 2: You know, I said this is somebody. I said, this
- 38:06Speaker 2: is somebody at work, and they were like, yeah, I
- 38:09Speaker 2: still don't think he's he's a good actor. And I said, okay, well,
- 38:15Speaker 2: you know he's a guy who's jacked and he's done
- 38:18Speaker 2: action movies. Is Arnold Schwarzenegger a good actor? Honestly?
- 38:25Speaker 1: Is he?
- 38:26Speaker 2: No? He's not. No. We're supposed to, you know, we're
- 38:31Speaker 2: supposed to think that you know, some guys, some US
- 38:36Speaker 2: Army commando has an Austrian accent or whatever. You know,
- 38:40Speaker 2: we just we just accept you know, he was jacked
- 38:43Speaker 2: and and chiseled, and we just kind of accepted it.
- 38:47Speaker 1: Right.
- 38:49Speaker 2: I think he's a better act I think John Cena
- 38:51Speaker 2: is a better actor than Arnold Schwarzenegger.
- 38:53Speaker 1: Ever was at this point. Yeah, I agree, I agree,
- 38:59Speaker 1: and yet but he's is better. Yeah, yeah, not much. Now.
- 39:04Speaker 1: I would say they're they're pretty on par, but Batista's
- 39:07Speaker 1: a little bit better. But it's kind of funny because
- 39:12Speaker 1: both those guys came into Hollywood after The Rock, and
- 39:15Speaker 1: they have lapped the Rock in acting skills, maybe not
- 39:19Speaker 1: box office money, not box office yeah no, no, no, no, no,
- 39:24Speaker 1: The Rock is insane, but well maybe not so much anymore.
- 39:30Speaker 2: No, his latest movie, his new movie kind of bombs, right.
- 39:34Speaker 1: I saw a headline that said, we've discovered one thing
- 39:37Speaker 1: the Rock can't lift audienced entronce interest.
- 39:41Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, And I mean, honestly, we owe the DCU,
- 39:47Speaker 2: the new DCU, to Dwayne Johnson. His failed his failed
- 39:53Speaker 2: takeover of the dc is what prompted this.
- 39:57Speaker 1: When when Superman came out, I posted it to me
- 40:00Speaker 1: that was my favorite Superman meme and it just said
- 40:02Speaker 1: it had pictures of Superman. I said, first time wanted
- 40:04Speaker 1: to thank Dwayne Johnston. Yeah, yeah, so, I mean, yeah,
- 40:12Speaker 1: it's why he's run back to wrestling. Dwayne Johnson has
- 40:15Speaker 1: become a partial owner of ww He's always yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 40:20Speaker 1: right now, he's on the board of directors. He pops
- 40:22Speaker 1: up every great once in a while, he's he's trying
- 40:26Speaker 1: to rebuild his momentum. So yeah, you know, go back
- 40:30Speaker 1: to basics, do what you need to do. I get it.
- 40:34Speaker 1: So there's yeah.
- 40:39Speaker 2: There's rumblings of uh, Henry cavill as Batman.
- 40:44Speaker 1: What do you what do you think of that? I've
- 40:46Speaker 1: heard that. I don't see it happening. I really don't.
- 40:52Speaker 2: You don't think it would you don't think it would
- 40:54Speaker 2: be good, or you don't think it's going to happen
- 40:56Speaker 2: or both.
- 40:57Speaker 1: I think I don't think it's gonna happen. I think
- 41:00Speaker 1: he's very he's a he's a good enough actor that
- 41:03Speaker 1: he could do the role and do it great. I
- 41:06Speaker 1: don't see him as if we were going to have
- 41:09Speaker 1: a Superman that became Batman a Superman actor, my hot
- 41:14Speaker 1: take is it would be what's that guy's name, Tyler
- 41:17Speaker 1: holkon the Superman and lewis that guy, Like, if you
- 41:22Speaker 1: look at his publicity shots versus Bruce Wayne, like it's
- 41:26Speaker 1: pretty on par See.
- 41:29Speaker 2: I kind of want to see Henry cavill as Batman
- 41:33Speaker 2: because the Snyder Bots will.
- 41:37Speaker 1: Not know what to do, right, all the angry monkeys.
- 41:43Speaker 2: Yes, they will not know what to do? How do
- 41:46Speaker 2: how do we shoot on this without shitting on Henry.
- 41:48Speaker 1: Cavill I I think if they're gonna do a crisis
- 41:56Speaker 1: event in the next like five to ten years, I
- 42:00Speaker 1: want him to be the Superman from another another dimension.
- 42:04Speaker 1: Bring him back as like Superman, you know Prime or
- 42:10Speaker 1: not Prime, but you know another one. Yeah, yeah, something
- 42:14Speaker 1: like that. Okay, yeah, but we'll see what they do. Well.
- 42:21Speaker 1: I don't know. I guess we should talk a little
- 42:24Speaker 1: bit more about Peacemakers since we kind of going over
- 42:27Speaker 1: it so is.
- 42:31Speaker 2: See, there's so many like unanswered questions, like what's the
- 42:34Speaker 2: deal with with Eaglely?
- 42:39Speaker 1: But I mean, isn't that isn't that kind of good too?
- 42:41Speaker 1: I mean they're setting up the universe that you want
- 42:44Speaker 1: people to be interested, you want.
- 42:46Speaker 2: It, Okay, but if we're not getting another season a Peacemaker,
- 42:51Speaker 2: like are we getting an Eaglely spilm? When is this
- 42:54Speaker 2: going to be resolved when.
- 42:58Speaker 1: I mean we could see some like partial resolution in
- 43:03Speaker 1: Man of Tomorrow. Like they're just side characters that every
- 43:06Speaker 1: now and then pop up and like you see them
- 43:08Speaker 1: move their story advanced a little bit further, kind of
- 43:11Speaker 1: like what they do with the Hulk right now in
- 43:12Speaker 1: the Marvel Right he can't have his own movie, but
- 43:15Speaker 1: his stuff gets pushed along a little.
- 43:18Speaker 2: Bit in each movie the DCU Hulk.
- 43:22Speaker 1: Yeah, man, or we'll or we'll do We'll don't.
- 43:26Speaker 2: I can't wait till the series comes out.
- 43:31Speaker 1: No, they're gonna do the Pet Justice League. You got, Crypto,
- 43:34Speaker 1: you got eagerly, We'll just let's just start bringing them
- 43:37Speaker 1: all in, all the pets. Yes, yeah, do you make
- 43:43Speaker 1: Ace talk or an inner monologue? Bark? Do you bark?
- 43:55Speaker 1: You will?
- 43:58Speaker 2: Yes?
- 44:00Speaker 1: A waiting game. I want Brandon uh Lechner as as Batman.
- 44:06Speaker 1: He I don't need I've seen this guy, like pictures
- 44:10Speaker 1: of him. He does look like Batman, like he looks
- 44:14Speaker 1: like the dude. But I don't know it's acting. I
- 44:19Speaker 1: couldn't tell you, you know, hmmm, I don't know. If
- 44:24Speaker 1: you do you get a no name person like you
- 44:27Speaker 1: did with with Superman.
- 44:36Speaker 2: Probably that would probably work best. But I really want
- 44:43Speaker 2: to see those Snyderbots short out, I really do.
- 44:49Speaker 1: Yeah, I would love to see that as well. I
- 44:52Speaker 1: would love to see the bots go crazy. But you know,
- 44:55Speaker 1: give it time. You know. Next up is is uh
- 44:58Speaker 1: is Supergirl. We also got the clay Face movie currently
- 45:01Speaker 1: in production, which, yeah, that's gonna be wild that that's
- 45:05Speaker 1: our introduction to the Gotham because if the clay Face
- 45:08Speaker 1: does take place in in the DCU, as far as
- 45:12Speaker 1: we know, so uh, we have the Batman uh too
- 45:17Speaker 1: starts shooting next year.
- 45:20Speaker 2: I don't know, man, I think that's gonna delay, delay, delay,
- 45:25Speaker 2: go away. That's that's why I think it's gonna happen
- 45:28Speaker 2: with that.
- 45:29Speaker 1: I hope not. Man, because they released the Penguin, and
- 45:32Speaker 1: the Penguin was such.
- 45:33Speaker 2: A good show, then fold it in, fold it in.
- 45:39Speaker 1: He doesn't fit with this Superman in the rest of
- 45:43Speaker 1: the universe. Everything else is too fantastical for him to
- 45:47Speaker 1: just walk on into that. Hm, that's the problem. Yeah,
- 45:52Speaker 1: it's too grounded, you know. And his his you know,
- 45:58Speaker 1: low key sat In Bruce Wayne and all of a
- 46:01Speaker 1: sudden you got squirrels, you know.
- 46:05Speaker 2: Yeah, you're his his uh Chevy Nova.
- 46:11Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, it.
- 46:12Speaker 2: Doesn't bit with you know, Lex Luthor's flying skyscraper that's
- 46:16Speaker 2: opening portals.
- 46:17Speaker 1: To right right, Yeah, you're right. He's supposed to be
- 46:21Speaker 1: a rival to Lex, and like that's not gonna match.
- 46:25Speaker 2: Yeah, So what's what's going on with Blue Beetle. I
- 46:31Speaker 2: heard this was being folded in. I heard it's not
- 46:34Speaker 2: being folded in. I heard some things are being folded in.
- 46:37Speaker 2: I heard that the actor is going to reprise the
- 46:42Speaker 2: role in animation. But they've already said in the DCU,
- 46:45Speaker 2: if if you're playing the character on screen, you're voicing
- 46:48Speaker 2: it in animation, we're going to keep it all together.
- 46:52Speaker 1: So yeah, So so both James Gunn and Sola mon Rona,
- 46:57Speaker 1: the actor that plays Blue Beatle, have said you will
- 47:01Speaker 1: see him in the DCU, that Blue Beatle has been
- 47:04Speaker 1: brought in. Zola has said in his own podcast, I've
- 47:08Speaker 1: heard the show a couple of times, that he is
- 47:11Speaker 1: currently recording a Blue Beetle animated series. He has already
- 47:16Speaker 1: done voice work for that, so when he pops up again,
- 47:21Speaker 1: who knows. There was a big rumor that he was
- 47:23Speaker 1: going to pop up in the Peacemaker finale. Yeah, that
- 47:26Speaker 1: Blue Beetle would show up. There was also rumors that
- 47:29Speaker 1: maybe Superman would show up. Neither happened, so I guess
- 47:34Speaker 1: we'll see. I could see him popping up in another film,
- 47:39Speaker 1: I don't know which one. Maybe they do a Titans
- 47:41Speaker 1: film and Blue Beetles brought in. We don't know, right
- 47:45Speaker 1: because if you just drop out the team and just
- 47:48Speaker 1: call him Titans, then the guy's young enough that they
- 47:50Speaker 1: can just put him in that. And they have mentioned
- 47:54Speaker 1: they want to do a Titans film, so fine, they
- 48:00Speaker 1: they have said, though they don't know if they will
- 48:02Speaker 1: pick up on some of the loose threads from the film.
- 48:06Speaker 2: Well, they did set up a lot of stuff with
- 48:08Speaker 2: the with the class in the background, which you know,
- 48:12Speaker 2: that was cool stuff I was looking forward to. And
- 48:15Speaker 2: the rest of that.
- 48:16Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I think they wanted Jason Sadeikas to play
- 48:19Speaker 1: the original Blue Beetle. So but we'll see. Well, I
- 48:25Speaker 1: don't see them doing that. If they do the Booster
- 48:29Speaker 1: Gold film or show, I could see Blue Beetle pop
- 48:33Speaker 1: up on that mm hmm, But we we don't know
- 48:38Speaker 1: at this point. It's all speculation awaiting game. I like
- 48:43Speaker 1: to see a comic accurate Robin, which Robin there's like
- 48:48Speaker 1: eighty of those guys, you know, pick one. I think
- 48:53Speaker 1: if we get to signal, we we've lost the plot
- 48:56Speaker 1: in the DCU. But I don't think we'll ever get
- 48:59Speaker 1: the signal. What his signal signal is. One of the
- 49:03Speaker 1: newest members of the bat Family, he is the only
- 49:06Speaker 1: one that is allowed to operate during the day because
- 49:11Speaker 1: Bruce Wayne has said, oh, you're you're the one with
- 49:13Speaker 1: the purest heart, so you need to be there in
- 49:16Speaker 1: the daylight to help the people. I think Batman just
- 49:19Speaker 1: needed somebody for the day shift.
- 49:23Speaker 2: I don't know, man, I haven't I'll be honest. I
- 49:25Speaker 2: haven't read a Batman comic in probably twenty five years.
- 49:30Speaker 1: Yeah. I mainly watched like recaps on YouTube.
- 49:34Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, you know. Or I'll every once in a
- 49:37Speaker 2: while open up Wikipedia and just read about a character
- 49:39Speaker 2: and see like the highlights of what's happened.
- 49:44Speaker 1: And one thing I do not like.
- 49:48Speaker 2: Is the family, the bat family the Superman family. I
- 49:56Speaker 2: feel like Batman works best alone or with like one
- 50:02Speaker 2: or two partners. Having a team yeah, gets kind of silly.
- 50:08Speaker 2: I think Superman works best as the last son of Krypton.
- 50:13Speaker 2: He's the last person of his kind, you know. Supergirl.
- 50:21Speaker 2: I guess that's okay. But you know, after a while,
- 50:24Speaker 2: it's like you start counting and how many Kryptonians we've
- 50:26Speaker 2: got running around on this planet. It's not Krypton anymore.
- 50:30Speaker 2: There's nothing special about him.
- 50:32Speaker 1: So I don't know. Yeah, I I like the bat family.
- 50:41Speaker 1: I think film wise, you can't have too many of
- 50:45Speaker 1: them because then it takes the edge off of Batman.
- 50:49Speaker 1: Because Batman's supposed to be angry, he's supposed to be
- 50:52Speaker 1: kind of a loner, but you do need somebody for
- 50:55Speaker 1: him to talk to and kind of explain what's going
- 50:57Speaker 1: on in his head. So that's why you have al
- 51:00Speaker 1: for right, Yeah, but but if you had a partner
- 51:04Speaker 1: that kind of helps. The problem is the trope you
- 51:06Speaker 1: run into, which is what happened in the in the
- 51:09Speaker 1: two movies we have with Robin, is Robin becomes the
- 51:12Speaker 1: damsel and in distress, right, he just becomes the lackey
- 51:16Speaker 1: to get kidnapped, and so that that's the trope you
- 51:20Speaker 1: run into. Now, if you did something where maybe you
- 51:25Speaker 1: started with an aged up Dick Grayson who's already night
- 51:31Speaker 1: Wing and maybe operating in his own city, he had
- 51:33Speaker 1: been trained by Batman, and there there's already kind of
- 51:37Speaker 1: conflict between them, then you could have something right.
- 51:41Speaker 2: Which they name dropped Blood Haven.
- 51:44Speaker 1: In uh right, they've they've not run a couple of times,
- 51:48Speaker 1: so I wouldn't mind seeing a night Wing, and night
- 51:52Speaker 1: Wing is kind of just fun Batman, you know, so
- 51:56Speaker 1: that that could be a lot of good times. But
- 52:03Speaker 1: so we'll see. What what are you hoping to see
- 52:06Speaker 1: in the upcoming films in the Supergirl and Man at Tomorrow.
- 52:14Speaker 2: I would like to see them builds towards a proper
- 52:18Speaker 2: Justice League. Okay, we are yet to see a proper
- 52:21Speaker 2: Justice League, right, yeah, you know what they gave us
- 52:26Speaker 2: in the past. No, I would like to see the
- 52:31Speaker 2: redemption of Green Lantern on films.
- 52:35Speaker 1: Oh yeah, we didn't mention that they're making the Lantern show.
- 52:38Speaker 2: Guy Gardner aside. You know, Guy Gardner was fun in
- 52:43Speaker 2: uh in Superman. He was fun in a couple of
- 52:48Speaker 2: scenes here in Peacemaker. But Guy Gardner is in Green Lantern.
- 52:51Speaker 2: Guy Gardner is like a caricature of Green Lantern. He's like,
- 52:55Speaker 2: he's like, you know, they gave the ring to the
- 52:58Speaker 2: wrong guy and we haven't gotten it. We haven't gotten
- 53:00Speaker 2: it back yet. So I'm I'm excited to see proper,
- 53:06Speaker 2: proper green lantern. I'm interested to see what they're gonna
- 53:11Speaker 2: do with the Flash. Yes, we got a pretty terrible
- 53:19Speaker 2: interpretation of.
- 53:20Speaker 1: Him, Yes on film.
- 53:25Speaker 2: That being said, I I enjoyed the movie.
- 53:28Speaker 1: Yeah, fla the Flash movie.
- 53:30Speaker 2: I don't know how much of that was him interacting
- 53:33Speaker 2: with with Michael Keaton. It was a pretty good story. Yeah,
- 53:39Speaker 2: I think they missed the opportunity to tie it to
- 53:43Speaker 2: the rebooting of of the DCU, but you know, it
- 53:46Speaker 2: is what it is. Also one of the most successful
- 53:51Speaker 2: DC movies or TV shows of the last ten or
- 53:55Speaker 2: fifteen years was The Flash on CW. That was that
- 53:57Speaker 2: was consistent, that was consistently They're highest rated show for years.
- 54:03Speaker 2: It surpassed Arrow, which it spun off from, outlived it
- 54:08Speaker 2: by several years. And you know, I'm still finishing that
- 54:12Speaker 2: show up. I think we're in the second to last season,
- 54:15Speaker 2: my son and I and it's getting a little it's
- 54:16Speaker 2: getting a little hokey. Yeah, but you know, there's a
- 54:21Speaker 2: lot of people that loved that loved that show, so
- 54:26Speaker 2: in some ways it's a tough act for them to follow. Yeah,
- 54:31Speaker 2: there's a lot of people that want them to use
- 54:33Speaker 2: Grand gust and I don't think they're going.
- 54:35Speaker 1: To do that.
- 54:36Speaker 2: He's not a movie actor, he's a he's a TV actor.
- 54:40Speaker 1: I mean, he wants to do it, but.
- 54:42Speaker 2: Oh, I know, I know he wants to do it.
- 54:44Speaker 2: But I'd also be interested in seeing a a more
- 54:48Speaker 2: comic book accurate Barry Allen because Grant wasn't really it. Yeah,
- 54:55Speaker 2: and what's his nuts? Definitely wasn't it.
- 54:59Speaker 1: What if they skip Berry Allen and go to Wally
- 55:01Speaker 1: West for Flash?
- 55:04Speaker 2: So funny thing. You know the years that I read comics,
- 55:09Speaker 2: Wally Wally was the Flash.
- 55:12Speaker 1: It wasn't.
- 55:12Speaker 2: It wasn't Barry. Wally was the Flash. Barry was the
- 55:15Speaker 2: guy whose shadow he was living in and always trying
- 55:18Speaker 2: to live up to and eventually surpassed a lot of
- 55:23Speaker 2: things that we now associate with The Barry Allen flash
- 55:29Speaker 2: had came from the Wally years. The speed for us
- 55:34Speaker 2: that was a Mark Wade created that for the Wally
- 55:39Speaker 2: West run of the Flash. You know his kids in
- 55:43Speaker 2: the future Impulse. You know, I'm watching the show now
- 55:46Speaker 2: an impulse. Impulse comes back in time and interacts with
- 55:50Speaker 2: with his dad. In the comics, Bart Allen was the
- 55:56Speaker 2: was the grandson of Barry Allen, not the Sun. He
- 56:01Speaker 2: was the grandson. And yeah, he came back to the
- 56:03Speaker 2: past to get some training, but it was Wally who
- 56:06Speaker 2: was training him, not not Barry. So you know, they've
- 56:11Speaker 2: kind of taken some of this stuff and poured it
- 56:13Speaker 2: over to Barry. The idea that uh and and even
- 56:18Speaker 2: even the TV show from the nineties they did this,
- 56:21Speaker 2: the idea that he had to consume a huge amount
- 56:25Speaker 2: of calories to fuel his powers. That's a Wale thing.
- 56:29Speaker 2: Barry never needed to do that years ago, and that
- 56:32Speaker 2: was a Wally thing until Wally discovered the Speed Force,
- 56:36Speaker 2: and then it wasn't.
- 56:39Speaker 1: A waiting game. Is Wally West was the Flash in
- 56:40Speaker 1: the Justice League? Great? Yeah, in the cartoon. In the cartoon,
- 56:43Speaker 1: yes that was Wally West, Yes, yes it was.
- 56:49Speaker 2: But he worked at a crime lab, right, yes, yes,
- 56:54Speaker 2: So they've they've kind of com mingled these two characters
- 56:57Speaker 2: over the years, and Wally his kind have been forgotten
- 57:03Speaker 2: when a lot of what makes people like that character
- 57:07Speaker 2: came from him.
- 57:08Speaker 1: So I don't know, I think you could do it,
- 57:13Speaker 1: but the problem you're gonna have is like if you
- 57:15Speaker 1: bring in Blue Beetle and He's like, oh, man, I
- 57:18Speaker 1: wish I had my mentor, And then Wally West, Oh
- 57:20Speaker 1: I wish I had my mentor. It's too much of
- 57:23Speaker 1: the same, you know, because then you also made have
- 57:26Speaker 1: after the Lantern show, you'll probably have John Stewart, who's
- 57:29Speaker 1: probably you'll probably lose Hal Jordan in the show. So
- 57:32Speaker 1: then John Skirt's like, oh, I wish I had my mentor.
- 57:35Speaker 2: Right, And again I'm not I'm not caught up on comics,
- 57:41Speaker 2: but you know, in the nineties, in the in the
- 57:43Speaker 2: mid nineties to early two thousands, when I was reading
- 57:48Speaker 2: pretty much everything that DC came out with, Green Lanton
- 57:53Speaker 2: was none of those guys. Green Lantern was Kyle Rayner.
- 57:57Speaker 1: Yeah, and he was and he.
- 57:59Speaker 2: Was the last one, yeah, And he was only the
- 58:03Speaker 2: He was only Green Lantern because Hal Jordan went that
- 58:05Speaker 2: shit crazy and uh.
- 58:07Speaker 1: Right, right came Parallax.
- 58:09Speaker 2: So yeah, So I know that character still exists in
- 58:13Speaker 2: the DCU, Kyle Rayner, but I know those storylines do not,
- 58:18Speaker 2: because they've reset things a couple of different times. So
- 58:21Speaker 2: I don't know how he fits in. I don't know.
- 58:24Speaker 2: Does he have a new origin, I don't I don't know.
- 58:28Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know either, but we should probably get
- 58:32Speaker 1: to listener feedback because we have Chasbis waiting to jump on.
- 58:37Speaker 2: I'm gonna get a power cord.
- 58:39Speaker 1: Okay, listener feedback, All right, Well Dan gets his power cord.
- 58:48Speaker 1: Thanks for coming our you know ears listener feedback real
- 58:52Speaker 1: quick though, before we get to Chasbiz, just to let
- 58:56Speaker 1: you know, you can always give us a call and
- 58:59Speaker 1: leave us a voicemail at five seven zero six six
- 59:02Speaker 1: one zero zero zero one. That's seven five to seven
- 59:06Speaker 1: zero six six to one zero zero zero one. Nobody
- 59:11Speaker 1: will listen to your call. We will then just play
- 59:14Speaker 1: it later on the show. It's just therefore you to
- 59:16Speaker 1: leave a voicemail. Also, we are on all the social media's,
- 59:20Speaker 1: all the old man approved ones. At least we're not
- 59:22Speaker 1: on the snapchat, but you know, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram.
- 59:30Speaker 1: We're there. We're loving every minute of it. And so yeah,
- 59:33Speaker 1: so Dan is still working on that power cord. So
- 59:35Speaker 1: in the meantime, let me bring in chas Biz. There is.
- 59:41Speaker 1: How's it going man? That pretty good? How are you good? Good?
- 59:44Speaker 1: Did you enjoy Beace Maaker?
- 59:46Speaker 4: Yes, I didn't like the season finale, but I enjoyed it.
- 59:49Speaker 4: I think the show should have been ten episodes.
- 59:53Speaker 1: Not eight. Ten longer.
- 59:56Speaker 4: Well, it should have been longer, that's right. Yeah, Well
- 1:00:00Speaker 4: they need to bring back longer seasons because you could
- 1:00:03Speaker 4: develop the characters more.
- 1:00:04Speaker 2: Yes, because it's.
- 1:00:06Speaker 4: Such a short season that you have all these characters
- 1:00:09Speaker 4: and you can't you know, you don't really care about
- 1:00:14Speaker 4: you know, the lesbian love story. You know that don't
- 1:00:17Speaker 4: make you like them. You barely get it, you know.
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: Oh did you did you realize in Peacemaker? Who who
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: the Brudeaux character was?
- 1:00:32Speaker 2: Uh?
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: Huh?
- 1:00:33Speaker 5: The the.
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: Argus agent that ends up hooking up with Rick Flag?
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: Oh, the hot one.
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: Yeah, you know who that is.
- 1:00:41Speaker 4: She's someone from a.
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: The Card season two, the doctor that we all loved. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: that's her. That's her. Yeah yeah yeah.
- 1:00:51Speaker 6: Rick Flag's like blowing her off, and.
- 1:00:53Speaker 4: I'm like, what are you doing?
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: Flag? Rio's is just rolling over in his grave right now?
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: Yeah Rios Oh.
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: Oh so I okay, So that's slip my mind. When
- 1:01:02Speaker 2: I was talking about missed missed opportunities and and and
- 1:01:06Speaker 2: unfollowed threads. You know, this guy is this guy is
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: pissed off and risking national security because he's upset that
- 1:01:16Speaker 2: his son is dead and his son is right behind
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: that door, right, Yeah, and they don't even touch it,
- 1:01:24Speaker 2: his Nazi son. We don't know that. We don't know that.
- 1:01:29Speaker 2: We don't know that he's a Nazi because no, no, no,
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: no no, because Augie. We we watched the whole season
- 1:01:35Speaker 2: thinking Augie was a Nazi, and five minutes before he
- 1:01:38Speaker 2: got he got there, five seconds before he got stabbed
- 1:01:40Speaker 2: in the neck, we found out that he's a good guy.
- 1:01:44Speaker 2: Now if you look at if you look at Rick
- 1:01:46Speaker 2: Flagg Junior in Earth X, he's a lot softer than
- 1:01:52Speaker 2: the Rick Flag that we knew in the Suicide Squad movie.
- 1:01:57Speaker 2: So I don't think he's a Nazi.
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: He might not be, You're right, because he wasn't all
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: he was just you're in your world. What else can
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: you do? You do the best you can. Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:02:13Speaker 4: It's like Fidgilani when he goes to his house, right,
- 1:02:16Speaker 4: and it's like, my dad's not gay in this universe.
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: And the thing is his dad's probably probably is gay.
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: Yeah, just suppressing it. Yeah, yeah, you.
- 1:02:31Speaker 4: Know, it's like, my dad's not gay and he's just
- 1:02:34Speaker 4: like he's just like laughing.
- 1:02:36Speaker 2: Doesn't he just say hi?
- 1:02:37Speaker 4: To his dad or anybody.
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: Speaking of ridiculous stuff like that. I have to tell you,
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: guys about this movie that I watched when I was
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: in the hospital, because it is the most goddamn ridiculous
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: thing you've ever seen in your life. It's called Birth
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: of the Dragon. It is a fictional story about Bruce Lee.
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: So for real, in real life, Bruce Lee did have
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: this like underground fight with this like I don't know somebody,
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: and and like only like a dozen people got to
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: witness this fight. But it was it was a fight
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: between him and this dude and there was no no, no,
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: it was like uh Wong jack Man or something like that. Okay,
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: but we don't know much about him. We don't know
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: much about what was the cause of the fight. Uh.
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: The only yes, there you go. The only thing we
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: know is, according to the magazine results, is that Bruce
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: Lee won. Yeah, so this fight happened and we don't
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: know anything about it. So this movie decides to answer
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: that question by just making shit up and so and
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: so they say that this Swang jack Man was a
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: shout monk who had disgraced himself and had come to
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: the US to to make a penance. And somehow he
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: finds Bruce Lee doesn't approve approve of Brucely's method of
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: training people in America. So they decide to have a
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: fight to see if Bruce Lee is able and allowed
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: to to train people. And then while they're doing that,
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: they become friends, and then they take down a giant
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: human trafficking ring together. I'm not even kidding. This is
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: the movie that.
- 1:04:33Speaker 2: Sounds awful, but you know what, it's nothing. It's nothing new.
- 1:04:37Speaker 2: Do you know who who Frank Dukes is?
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: Yeah? Yeah, the The Kick.
- 1:04:45Speaker 2: No, No, that's.
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: Okay, Oh Frank the blood Sport, Yes, yes, okay, yeah.
- 1:04:54Speaker 2: So that tournament that Blood Sport takes place at. No
- 1:05:00Speaker 2: one has ever been able to verify that it actually
- 1:05:04Speaker 2: his military record. No one has ever been able to
- 1:05:08Speaker 2: verify his military records. Of course, you know. He's like, oh,
- 1:05:11Speaker 2: well that's because it's all classified because this, you know,
- 1:05:15Speaker 2: and things he said, I was tied to this unit,
- 1:05:17Speaker 2: and people from that unit are like, no, we don't
- 1:05:19Speaker 2: know this guy, we never met him. You know. The
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: only things they could find is like he was I
- 1:05:24Speaker 2: don't know what state he grew up in, but you
- 1:05:26Speaker 2: know he was in like the New Mexico National Guard
- 1:05:29Speaker 2: for you know, a couple of years, never deployed overseas
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: for anything. The guy who he said trained him, uh
- 1:05:38Speaker 2: you know, Shallon Munk or whatever. No one can verify
- 1:05:44Speaker 2: that he exists. His name is similar to another name
- 1:05:49Speaker 2: in some piece of fiction, so I mean complete, complete,
- 1:05:56Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, well this guy, this guy, this guy taught
- 1:05:59Speaker 2: Ninjit Seminars, right.
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: Right, yes, yeah, well, same thing with that. Uh, what's
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: the name of that movie? Catch me if you can,
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: the one of Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks. That's all
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: made up. None of that should happen.
- 1:06:14Speaker 2: Yeah, oh yeah, the whole movie.
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, that a whole movie is fake. Yes, I
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: found that out to you. But Bruce Lee is real, Yes,
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: all right.
- 1:06:24Speaker 4: He's better Bruce Lee or Chuck Norris.
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: Oh, Chuck Norris. No, Bruce Lee. Bruceley is great. But
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: but Bertha Dragon great action scenes. The guy that plays
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: Bruce Ly does a really good job. But it's just
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: goddamn ridiculous and hilarious. The amount of times I yelled
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: bullshit while watching that movie in the in the hospital,
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: yelling bullshit.
- 1:06:46Speaker 4: I always hate movies that are based on true stories,
- 1:06:49Speaker 4: and you just see right there.
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, that did not happen.
- 1:06:54Speaker 2: That is this word play. There's based on a true story.
- 1:06:57Speaker 2: There's based on actual events in spy by actual events.
- 1:07:01Speaker 2: They you know, they play they played games with with
- 1:07:04Speaker 2: how they how they.
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: When they say inspired, that means we're about to lie
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: to you. Yes, none of this happened.
- 1:07:11Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, so inspired by actual events. Yeah, there's a
- 1:07:17Speaker 2: there was a god once with two arms and two
- 1:07:19Speaker 2: legs who did kung fu. There you go, inspired by
- 1:07:22Speaker 2: actual events?
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: What is that movie? The movie The Strangers were like,
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: these people invaded cabin and start like killing the people
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: in the cabin. That movie was originally sold as inspired
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: or based on a true story, and the true story
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: was that the director and the writer were like, this
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: could happen. Yes, that was it. That's the true story. Yeah.
- 1:07:44Speaker 6: It was like all the Conjuring movies.
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: You know, yeah, God, that's my favorite. I don't know
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: how much you know about those. And I don't know
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: why I know this offhand, but they got sued by
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: somebody early on in the Conjuring series who said that
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: he had the book and film rights, and so Warner
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: Brothers said, well, we're basing this off of news reports
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: and and accounts. So these are these are basically actual events,
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: so you can't sue us because we're doing story. You
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: can't copyright actual events, to which the guys said, great,
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: prove ghosts exists then, since these are actual events. Fucking
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: smart smart move. And yeah, Warner Brothers settled out a court.
- 1:08:33Speaker 2: Guys.
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: Yeah, all right. Uh, you know we've been going pretty long.
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: We should probably start wrapping this up. I know, all right,
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: Dan's got to get back to world domination. Yes, all right, well,
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: thanks everyone for listening. We'll catch you next time.
