- 0:01Speaker 1: Welcome to a meeting of the minds, crafted from decades
- 0:05Speaker 1: of talk show experience, an extension of the magic they've
- 0:08Speaker 1: created together on radio in the phenomenon called M & M.
- 0:13Speaker 1: Hot topics in the news and wisdom from life. It's
- 0:16Speaker 1: Mark Davis and Mike Gallagher. This is M & M Extra.
- 0:22Speaker 2: Yes, it is. On this Monday, the 28th day of September,
- 0:26Speaker 2: Mark Davis, Mike Gallagher, we are the M's, and it's
- 0:28Speaker 2: actually both of us. These pesky travel and vacation things.
- 0:33Speaker 2: It's funny. We originally started thinking, let's try to arrange
- 0:37Speaker 2: and be gone at the same time. But I was
- 0:39Speaker 2: gone last week and you were here and did remarkable stuff.
- 0:42Speaker 2: And listen, whether it's one of us or both of us,
- 0:44Speaker 2: before any of us says anything more, we are brought
- 0:46Speaker 2: to you by Preborn. It's brought to you just so
- 0:48Speaker 2: much of what we do, brought to you in part
- 0:49Speaker 2: by Preborn. You can stand for life today by joining
- 0:53Speaker 2: us and providing ultrasounds to girls and women. You will
- 0:56Speaker 2: double the likelihood that she will choose life. Go to 833-850-BABY, 833-850-BABY,
- 1:03Speaker 2: or go to preborn.com slash mmextra. You will learn more
- 1:07Speaker 2: about them later in today's episode. But the other M,
- 1:11Speaker 2: the Mike Gallagher, with his freshly restored Mike Gallagher Twitter handle.
- 1:14Speaker 2: He's back. He's ready. And boy, am I ready to
- 1:17Speaker 2: hook up with you here and sling some hot topics.
- 1:19Speaker 3: I'm very bitter. I'm very angry about your vacation because
- 1:22Speaker 3: you screw up my whole world when you go on vacation,
- 1:25Speaker 3: and I'm here by myself, and I'm having a tap dance.
- 1:29Speaker 3: I don't understand why you can't. You understand on a podcast,
- 1:33Speaker 3: you could just open up your laptop from vacation, and
- 1:35Speaker 3: we could do the podcast. Wouldn't be a vacation then,
- 1:40Speaker 3: would it? This doesn't feel like a vacation. Is this
- 1:43Speaker 3: work to you? Is the Eminem extra work to you?
- 1:46Speaker 3: I mean, I'm already hurt. Here's my feelings that are hurt.
- 1:49Speaker 3: When I was solo, the live viewership on YouTube that
- 1:54Speaker 3: I'm looking at right now, it's half of what it
- 1:59Speaker 3: is when you're here. So it's all you.
- 2:01Speaker 4: Yeah, it is.
- 2:02Speaker 3: It is. So there goes my inferiority complex on steroids.
- 2:07Speaker 3: My whole schedule is all screwed up. I mean, here
- 2:09Speaker 3: I am schlepping out to Los Angeles, but I'm doing
- 2:12Speaker 3: everything from on the road. I can do it. If
- 2:15Speaker 3: I can bring a laptop with me to L.A., why
- 2:17Speaker 3: can't you bring a laptop with you to some she-she
- 2:20Speaker 3: vacation resort you and Lisa go to?
- 2:21Speaker 2: We were in Santa Barbara, and we had a lovely time. And,
- 2:25Speaker 2: in fact, looking ahead, because we've got four days of
- 2:29Speaker 2: hot news-breaking action, et cetera, et cetera. Friday, a theme show.
- 2:35Speaker 2: Mike and I are going to do California Friday. California
- 2:39Speaker 2: Friday on such a winter's day. No mamas and the papas,
- 2:42Speaker 2: but two guys talking about a state that conservatives... We
- 2:47Speaker 2: slap California around all the time. It deserves it in
- 2:50Speaker 2: terms of the way it is run and the horrible
- 2:52Speaker 2: politics that come out of there. But there are few
- 2:55Speaker 2: places in America that are as beautiful, as wondrous, as
- 2:58Speaker 2: vexing and frustrating. So California stories... On Friday.
- 3:02Speaker 3: But you gave me a couple. Let me add to
- 3:05Speaker 3: that real quick. Because I was in Pasadena. And funny story,
- 3:10Speaker 3: I stayed at a hotel near the venue at the Pasadena,
- 3:15Speaker 3: it was called the Ambassador Auditorium. This hotel was such
- 3:20Speaker 3: a dump. It was horrible. And here I am trying
- 3:25Speaker 3: to be industrious and find a hotel near the property.
- 3:29Speaker 3: So finally somebody says, why didn't you stay at the
- 3:32Speaker 3: Langham Huntington Hotel? Yes. Well, I checked in to the
- 3:36Speaker 3: Langham Huntington. Oh, my goodness. The Sound of Steel. Oh,
- 3:40Speaker 3: it was upscale and it was a neat history to it.
- 3:43Speaker 3: It's been a hundred years old or whatever, but beautiful resort,
- 3:46Speaker 3: beautiful hotel. And Pasadena, I would wake up in the morning,
- 3:51Speaker 3: the mountains surrounding the city, the beauty, the landscape, the homes.
- 3:57Speaker 3: I mean, the neighborhood where the Langham Huntington Hotel is,
- 4:01Speaker 3: is in this beautiful neighborhood. I asked my driver, they
- 4:04Speaker 3: had a They had a lot of security for this event,
- 4:07Speaker 3: and I'm glad because he had Nick Shirley. We had
- 4:10Speaker 3: Steve Hilton, the gubernatorial candidate, Larry Elder, Larry O'Connor, Alex Marlow,
- 4:16Speaker 3: Jen Horn, and I, and a number of local and
- 4:19Speaker 3: regional politicians. So they had security out the wazoo. I
- 4:25Speaker 3: found out what the price tab was for that day.
- 4:27Speaker 3: I won't say it publicly, but I might text it
- 4:30Speaker 3: to you. one day worth of security, but it was
- 4:33Speaker 3: worth it. And so they didn't want to, and they
- 4:35Speaker 3: assigned all of us our individual security people. And they
- 4:39Speaker 3: were all like LAPD officers off duty. And they were
- 4:43Speaker 3: so great. And these guys, gosh, and they actually love
- 4:47Speaker 3: what we do. They know we're pro-law and order. They
- 4:49Speaker 3: know we're pro-police. And it was just beautiful. And so
- 4:55Speaker 3: we're driving through, the guy's driving me in his vehicle,
- 4:59Speaker 3: Back to the hotel for a little break. And I said,
- 5:01Speaker 3: what do these houses go for? I said, are they
- 5:04Speaker 3: a million and a half, two? He goes, two. He goes,
- 5:08Speaker 3: they're starting at five and above. Five million or more.
- 5:12Speaker 3: And Mark, I'm going to tell you right now, the
- 5:14Speaker 3: $ 5 million house that he pointed to, you have a
- 5:17Speaker 3: beautiful home. It was your home. Now, I love you.
- 5:23Speaker 3: I don't think your house is five mil. You are correct, sir.
- 5:26Speaker 3: But if you picked it up and planted it in Pasadena, California,
- 5:30Speaker 3: you'd be spending $ 5 million for that property. It was
- 5:32Speaker 3: a beautiful, beautiful visit. And so you're right, Mark, to
- 5:36Speaker 3: your point. And I feel bad. I realized I was
- 5:39Speaker 3: standing on air, and I'm heard in L.A., just like
- 5:42Speaker 3: you and I. A lot of people in L.A. loved Eminem,
- 5:44Speaker 3: and I got a lot of great feedback about Eminem
- 5:46Speaker 3: in L.A., incidentally, at this event. But I thought, here
- 5:51Speaker 3: I am saying publicly how much I hate going to L.A.
- 5:54Speaker 3: and how much I hate L.A. Maybe not a Norman
- 5:58Speaker 3: Vincent Peale move on my part, huh? I mean, stupid
- 6:01Speaker 3: of me to say that. It's like saying, oh, hey, Dallas. Well,
- 6:04Speaker 3: what are you doing here then?
- 6:05Speaker 4: But it is.
- 6:06Speaker 3: It's a beating. I mean, the politics, the policies, all
- 6:11Speaker 3: the crap, the needles in San Francisco. I mean, one
- 6:15Speaker 3: of America's beautiful cities, too. Mark, the Democrats have destroyed
- 6:20Speaker 3: that place.
- 6:22Speaker 2: And it's right in front of their faces and from
- 6:24Speaker 2: relative converts like Adam Carolla to– sort of libs like
- 6:29Speaker 2: Bill Maher, these will be the people who will tell
- 6:31Speaker 2: you that they know that Gavin Newsom and Karen Bass
- 6:34Speaker 2: and leaders like this make life miserable in California cities
- 6:38Speaker 2: and for all Californians. And then people like them march
- 6:41Speaker 2: dutifully into their polling places and keep reelecting people with
- 6:46Speaker 2: these horrible ideas, election cycle after election cycle. Can Steve Hilton,
- 6:51Speaker 2: for governor, can he beat Javier Becerra? Does anybody think
- 6:55Speaker 2: that's a chance or is that just a.
- 6:57Speaker 3: On the record or off the record? What do you want? Well,
- 6:59Speaker 3: let's see.
- 7:00Speaker 2: This would seem to be on, but pretend it's off.
- 7:03Speaker 3: Okay. Off the record, everybody there said Steve is unbelievable.
- 7:07Speaker 3: He would be great. He doesn't have any chance at all.
- 7:10Speaker 3: That's what they say. That's what they say in person. Now,
- 7:13Speaker 3: I don't know if that's true or not. I mean,
- 7:15Speaker 3: they also said, look, that leads us to what I
- 7:18Speaker 3: can't wait to talk to you about today. It was
- 7:21Speaker 3: only the last week, almost while you were away, that
- 7:24Speaker 3: suddenly we get this tsunami of media coverage that it's
- 7:30Speaker 3: over for the Republicans, that all of a sudden everything's
- 7:33Speaker 3: going to change. There's going to be a blue wave.
- 7:36Speaker 3: They're going to take the House. They're going to take
- 7:38Speaker 3: the Senate. Up and down the ballot, Democrats are going
- 7:41Speaker 3: to win everywhere. Tallarico is guaranteed, they're telling us. Annie
- 7:46Speaker 3: Andrews in South Carolina is guaranteed, they're telling us. And
- 7:50Speaker 3: it's only been in the last week or so. Nothing
- 7:52Speaker 3: has changed. Gas prices haven't changed. I mean, they've gone
- 7:56Speaker 3: up a little bit, but they haven't really changed. And
- 8:00Speaker 3: so we had some fun. You and I talked a
- 8:02Speaker 3: little bit about this earlier today. Look at the polling history.
- 8:06Speaker 3: Look at the famous Des Moines Register and Seltzer poll.
- 8:11Speaker 3: Remember that? Kamala's going to take Iowa by three. That
- 8:14Speaker 3: was upholstered. Trump took Iowa by 18. 18, Mark.
- 8:21Speaker 2: Just a little swing.
- 8:22Speaker 3: A little swing, even in your state. Ted Cruz, when
- 8:26Speaker 3: he was up against Colin Allred, remember that race?
- 8:30Speaker 4: Oh, of course.
- 8:31Speaker 3: Do you remember what the pollster said? Oh, it's neck
- 8:34Speaker 3: and neck. It's anybody's race. Cruz wins. Maybe he's only
- 8:38Speaker 3: up by one point. He won by like almost 10 points,
- 8:42Speaker 3: eight and a half points. So, Mark, here we go again.
- 8:45Speaker 3: It's like Lucy with the football and Charlie Brown. We're
- 8:49Speaker 3: pretending that suddenly these pollsters have this burst of credibility. And, Mark,
- 8:55Speaker 3: they do not. They do not. Stop it.
- 8:57Speaker 2: And what is happening? I mean, there are lots of
- 9:00Speaker 2: different pollsters, and the answer may not be the same
- 9:03Speaker 2: from polling organization to polling organization. But what do you
- 9:07Speaker 2: think is happening? You know that virtually everybody watching and listening,
- 9:10Speaker 2: listening to our radio shows, watching this enterprise– You know
- 9:14Speaker 2: that there is a vast belief that pollsters are partisan,
- 9:19Speaker 2: that they are trying to ask questions designed to elicit
- 9:22Speaker 2: a certain response. And then they can pedal it back,
- 9:25Speaker 2: dial it back and say, hey, things changed. Do you
- 9:28Speaker 2: believe that the ridiculous Tallarico lead over Paxton that you
- 9:32Speaker 2: can find in virtually every poll is? Is that real?
- 9:37Speaker 2: Did they balance it? Did they imbalance it? Did they
- 9:40Speaker 2: tilt it? Are pollsters as in the tank for the
- 9:47Speaker 2: left as many people think they are?
- 9:50Speaker 3: Well, I asked that very question of Newt Gingrich earlier today,
- 9:53Speaker 3: and Newt said pollsters are mostly left, even if they
- 9:57Speaker 3: don't publicly reveal it. And they do have an agenda.
- 10:01Speaker 3: They are intentionally demoralizing Republican voters. And look, John Cornyn
- 10:08Speaker 3: isn't helping in your state. John Cornyn, my gosh, and
- 10:12Speaker 3: you've interviewed the guy, and I hope it's not a
- 10:14Speaker 3: sensitive subject to you.
- 10:15Speaker 2: Because— I don't mean like I'm personally wounded to learn
- 10:23Speaker 2: that a man who I've had such high regard for,
- 10:25Speaker 2: you know, over the years has turned into such a
- 10:29Speaker 2: disappointing establishment toad.
- 10:32Speaker 3: Well, he's a snake. He's a snake. And here he
- 10:34Speaker 3: was on CNN. I want to play this. The guy stops.
- 10:39Speaker 3: Let's play this.
- 10:40Speaker 2: Manu Raju in the hallway of the Senate.
- 10:42Speaker 3: And he starts out by saying, you know, I want
- 10:45Speaker 3: to make sure here you're not going to help support
- 10:49Speaker 3: Ken Paxton in any way, shape, or form in his
- 10:52Speaker 3: race against Tallarico. Check this out, Mark.
- 10:56Speaker 2: So you're not planning on helping him at all, fundraising?
- 11:00Speaker 4: That's correct.
- 11:00Speaker 2: Why is that?
- 11:02Speaker 5: Well, for all the reasons that we pointed out in
- 11:05Speaker 5: the primary, I think, you know, You know, the risk
- 11:09Speaker 5: for Republicans is if we nominate flawed candidates in November,
- 11:15Speaker 5: we risk losing. And we haven't elected a Democrat in
- 11:20Speaker 5: Texas statewide since 1990, well, before 1994. And this is
- 11:25Speaker 5: the way that, you know, majority parties become minority parties
- 11:29Speaker 5: by nominating candidates that are less than appealing to a
- 11:33Speaker 5: general election electorate.
- 11:35Speaker 2: Does he deserve to be a senator?
- 11:37Speaker 5: Say it again?
- 11:37Speaker 2: Does he deserve to be a senator?
- 11:39Speaker 5: I'll let the voters.
- 11:40Speaker 3: Decide that one. Oh, you're going to let the voters decide? Well,
- 11:44Speaker 3: the voters decided about you, Mr. Cornyn.
- 11:47Speaker 2: Sure did.
- 11:48Speaker 3: The voters made a decision and they fired you. This
- 11:51Speaker 3: is what's crazy.
- 11:51Speaker 2: 2-1 margin on the runoff on May 27th. And this
- 11:56Speaker 2: is just inexplicable.
- 11:57Speaker 3: It was 2-1.
- 11:58Speaker 2: Did you say 2-1? It was nearly a 2. 60-something
- 12:01Speaker 2: to 30-something.
- 12:02Speaker 3: Yep.
- 12:02Speaker 2: It was not close. This was the Republican runoff. The
- 12:05Speaker 2: first go-round on March 3rd, they make us wait forever
- 12:09Speaker 2: for the runoffs in Texas for some reason. On March 3rd,
- 12:13Speaker 2: Cornyn had 42. Paxton had 40 and Wesley Hunt had
- 12:17Speaker 2: about 13. So Cornyn got a plurality. But the Wesley
- 12:22Speaker 2: Hunt vote was a Paxton vote. And then it all
- 12:24Speaker 2: kind of gravitated over to him, which is why in
- 12:26Speaker 2: the runoff, it wasn't even remotely close. And yet here
- 12:30Speaker 2: is John Cornyn talking about what the voters want and
- 12:33Speaker 2: what voters seem to indicate their tastes are. What the
- 12:35Speaker 2: Republican voter taste was was to turn the page past him,
- 12:39Speaker 2: and he just can't handle it. And I know it's hard.
- 12:43Speaker 2: Losing sucks.
- 12:44Speaker 3: I get it.
- 12:44Speaker 2: I get it. I get it. But, man, this is
- 12:46Speaker 2: not helpful. This is just so not helpful.
- 12:49Speaker 3: And I got into a fight with a South Carolina
- 12:52Speaker 3: caller today because you've got Darlene Graham Nordone, Lindsey Graham's sister,
- 12:57Speaker 3: up against Dr. Annie Andrews. Now, you take a gander
- 13:01Speaker 3: at what Dr. Annie Andrews stands for. I mean, it's
- 13:06Speaker 3: like a fever dream of leftist, radical, rabid nonsense from
- 13:11Speaker 3: guns to all of it. You go down the list,
- 13:13Speaker 3: everything you'd expect, abortion up to the moment of birth,
- 13:16Speaker 3: abortion All the crazy stuff. And this guy said, well,
- 13:18Speaker 3: I'm not going to vote for Darlene because she's– look
- 13:24Speaker 3: at her track record. Look at her voting record. I said,
- 13:26Speaker 3: excuse me? She doesn't have a voting record. What are
- 13:27Speaker 3: you talking about? Well, she gave herself a raise when
- 13:30Speaker 3: she was the director of The Blind and whatever she did.
- 13:34Speaker 4: Oh, Lord.
- 13:35Speaker 3: Give me a break. I said, you mean Darlene giving
- 13:38Speaker 3: herself a raise– Makes her less viable than Dr.
- 13:44Speaker 4: Annie Andrews.
- 13:45Speaker 3: And the guy– and here's the crazy part. The guy
- 13:48Speaker 3: thoroughly agreed at how radical and what a lunatic Annie
- 13:52Speaker 3: Andrews is. Yep. And yet he wants to get her elected. Yeah, exactly.
- 13:57Speaker 3: It's unreal to me. And they will tell you, no,
- 14:00Speaker 3: they don't. This takes me back to Trump in 2016.
- 14:03Speaker 3: It's like, well, I just don't think I can do the,
- 14:06Speaker 3: you know, I can't pull the lever for Trump. Then
- 14:08Speaker 3: a Hillary presidency is OK. Oh, no.
- 14:11Speaker 2: Well, then you're going to vote for Trump. Oh, no,
- 14:12Speaker 2: I can't. It is a it's a crazy making circular
- 14:16Speaker 2: argument that it makes it it makes it clear that
- 14:20Speaker 2: it's all performative argument. From Cornyn on down to the
- 14:23Speaker 2: dog catcher to your buddy at Starbucks, if they cannot 100%
- 14:27Speaker 2: get behind Ken Paxton, then by definition, they are okay
- 14:31Speaker 2: with a Tallarico win. In South Carolina, anybody, listen, I.
- 14:34Speaker 3: Was a Ralph Norman guy.
- 14:36Speaker 2: If you can't get, but Darlene won fair and square.
- 14:40Speaker 2: And if you can't get behind her, that means you
- 14:42Speaker 2: are okay with this ghoulish Democrat winning. By definition, there
- 14:47Speaker 2: is no escaping this.
- 14:49Speaker 3: Right, and my mystery in my mind is are these
- 14:52Speaker 3: people just ignorant? Are they obtuse? Or are they sort
- 14:58Speaker 3: of deviously wanting to punish the state that they live
- 15:02Speaker 3: in because they're mad that the outcome of the election
- 15:05Speaker 3: didn't go the way they wanted it to go?
- 15:07Speaker 2: Combination of B and C. Combination of B and C. Obtuseness,
- 15:10Speaker 2: just the inability to kind of go, I don't like
- 15:13Speaker 2: this person, but the other person.
- 15:14Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 15:15Speaker 2: But that was B. Obtuse was B. Your third choice— wanting,
- 15:20Speaker 2: secretly or not so secretly, to just deliver a shiv
- 15:24Speaker 2: into the ribs of people that just didn't vote the
- 15:27Speaker 2: way they wanted to, even in their own party. John
- 15:30Speaker 2: Cornyn would love Tallarico to win. So would some of
- 15:34Speaker 2: the people around the state who are making those similar noises.
- 15:37Speaker 2: And they have this perverse logic that a Paxton Laws— this
- 15:41Speaker 2: is kind of the Karl Rove approach— I can't even
- 15:43Speaker 2: speak his name anymore, that it kind of would be
- 15:47Speaker 2: a refreshing cleanser, a stable cleaning, as Karl Rove, I think,
- 15:52Speaker 2: put it. in order to get the Republican Party back
- 15:55Speaker 2: the way it needs to be. Good gosh almighty.
- 15:59Speaker 3: Well, I'm going to ask. Everybody's back. All these comments.
- 16:04Speaker 3: Here we go again. My inferiority complex. Mark is back. Oh,
- 16:08Speaker 3: my life is complete. Mark and Mike are back together.
- 16:11Speaker 3: I love that. Look, you know I'm mostly teasing. But
- 16:16Speaker 3: what we need is action from our podcast audience. Now,
- 16:20Speaker 3: we have a smaller audience today. Now, initially with our podcast,
- 16:24Speaker 3: because it's brand new. This is a new venture that
- 16:27Speaker 3: we're on together. And so we're building, we're growing. And
- 16:30Speaker 3: one of the things we want to deliver is success
- 16:33Speaker 3: to our partners. I want to ask everybody who's listening
- 16:37Speaker 3: or watching the podcast right now to join me in
- 16:41Speaker 3: doing something. And I'm doing something in real time. I've
- 16:44Speaker 3: just texted FFTP to 51555. Because when you do that
- 16:50Speaker 3: on your phone... You're going to get a link back
- 16:52Speaker 3: where you can make a contribution. to Food for the Poor. Now,
- 16:56Speaker 3: let me tell you why it's important. First of all,
- 16:57Speaker 3: Food for the Poor is a beautiful ministry. They have
- 17:00Speaker 3: delivered 4.7 billion meals. I'm saying billion with a B
- 17:06Speaker 3: to people all over the world. They don't just drop
- 17:09Speaker 3: food boxes off and then they get out. They don't
- 17:11Speaker 3: do that. They buy from local farmers. They stay entrenched
- 17:15Speaker 3: in communities that really need it. Now, if you text
- 17:19Speaker 3: the letters FFTP on your phone to 51555, you can
- 17:25Speaker 3: make a donation. And I'm doing it right now. I'm
- 17:29Speaker 3: going to do a pretty sizable donation to get the
- 17:33Speaker 3: ball rolling because I got a report today. We've been
- 17:35Speaker 3: with Food for the Poor for a week or two,
- 17:38Speaker 3: and it's a little flat, Mark. I'm not going to
- 17:42Speaker 3: sugarcoat this.
- 17:43Speaker 2: Then I am going to meet you on the battlefield
- 17:46Speaker 2: and ask you to follow your example. Again, texting FFTP,
- 17:49Speaker 2: which stands for Food for the Poor. to 51555. And listen,
- 17:54Speaker 2: we've talked about a lot of fundraising efforts throughout our careers.
- 17:57Speaker 2: If you don't have $ 1, 000 lying around, that's fine. You
- 18:00Speaker 2: got 100, you got 20, because everything you do helps
- 18:03Speaker 2: these amazing people add to their 44 plus year legacy.
- 18:07Speaker 2: You mentioned those 4.7 billion meals. We've seen some of
- 18:11Speaker 2: them with yours and my own eyes. Our trip, we
- 18:13Speaker 2: made a few years back to Guatemala to see what
- 18:16Speaker 2: these people do, bringing food and faith, bringing hope and help.
- 18:21Speaker 2: And if you can just be a part of that
- 18:22Speaker 2: here in our hemisphere for some of the neediest among us,
- 18:26Speaker 2: it'll be a great, great kickstart. As summer goes into fall,
- 18:29Speaker 2: as everybody gets back sort of into the working grind
- 18:33Speaker 2: after summer, text FFTP to 51555. And help us get
- 18:37Speaker 2: a really good, solid donation boost today. We would love it.
- 18:40Speaker 2: The link is right there.
- 18:42Speaker 3: And you want to match my– can I challenge you?
- 18:44Speaker 3: Because here's what I just did. $ 160 feeds four children,
- 18:46Speaker 3: four starving, needy children for an entire year. Will you
- 18:53Speaker 3: match my 160, Mr. Davis? The moment we're done. The
- 18:56Speaker 3: moment we're done. And I did it just now. It's
- 18:58Speaker 3: so easy. In fact, it's kind of crazy how simple
- 19:01Speaker 3: the process is. So if you text FFTP, it's a
- 19:04Speaker 3: text message, and your address, the one you're sending it to,
- 19:08Speaker 3: is 51555. Text FFTP to 51555. I'm not kidding.
- 19:14Speaker 2: You, Mark.
- 19:14Speaker 3: In the last 30 seconds that you and I have
- 19:16Speaker 3: been talking, I made the donation of $ 160. It's the
- 19:19Speaker 3: first option you have. You can feed four children for
- 19:22Speaker 3: a year, and we're very, very grateful. So if everybody
- 19:25Speaker 3: will do that today, come on, let's have a better
- 19:26Speaker 3: report tomorrow because they're now starting to keep daily reports.
- 19:30Speaker 3: I know you and I are going to meet later
- 19:31Speaker 3: today with the great folks. at Food for the Poor.
- 19:34Speaker 3: And let's have a great start with this. These are
- 19:37Speaker 3: folks that have invested in our show because they know
- 19:39Speaker 3: that this audience responds, so we need you. Relief Factor
- 19:43Speaker 3: knows how responsive you are when it comes to supplements. Hey,
- 19:46Speaker 3: when you're suffering back pain, leg pain, shoulder pain, neck pain,
- 19:50Speaker 3: I mean, look. Look at Mark Davis. We were so
- 19:54Speaker 3: excited because Mark likes to take a tennis ball, and
- 19:58Speaker 3: he throws a ball with Igor and Kathy out in
- 20:00Speaker 3: the backyard of his house. Igor and Kathy. One's a
- 20:04Speaker 3: golden retriever, right? And one's a poodle. And a rat terrier.
- 20:07Speaker 3: And a rat terrier. Yep. Igor and Kathy are now
- 20:10Speaker 3: with Daddy, and you're throwing a ball with a lot
- 20:13Speaker 3: less stress and strain on that sore shoulder of yours. Why, Mark?
- 20:18Speaker 3: Because of Relief Factor.
- 20:19Speaker 2: Relief Factor. Just taking that little rotator cuff issue away.
- 20:22Speaker 2: If the Rangers had me on the mound, maybe they
- 20:24Speaker 2: could have made the playoffs this year. I wouldn't take
- 20:27Speaker 2: that leap, but I'll take this leap, and that is
- 20:29Speaker 2: to leap toward Relief Factor. 1-800-4-relief or relieffactor.com. And you
- 20:34Speaker 2: can have a couple. And listen, everybody's issue is going
- 20:36Speaker 2: to be different. Mike has some back issues. I had
- 20:38Speaker 2: a shoulder issue. I also had that sort of approaching
- 20:41Speaker 2: your 69th birthday, kind of sore for a few minutes when.
- 20:44Speaker 3: You wake up issue.
- 20:46Speaker 2: And I don't even have that anymore because it's like
- 20:48Speaker 2: it's the all natural ingredients and relief factor. They just
- 20:51Speaker 2: work their way into your system in a non-narcotic way.
- 20:55Speaker 2: And they just make you better. They make you feel better.
- 20:58Speaker 2: They give you a pain-free life. And I wouldn't trade
- 21:00Speaker 2: anything for it. 1-800-4-RELIEF. And that starter kit is $ 17.
- 21:05Speaker 5: 76.
- 21:05Speaker 2: Get it, $ 17.
- 21:06Speaker 4: 76.
- 21:06Speaker 2: At relieffactor.com or 1-800-4-RELIEF. We hope you'll do it and
- 21:11Speaker 2: have the kind of results that Mike and I and
- 21:13Speaker 2: a bunch of other people have had as well. 1-800-4-RELIEF, relieffactor.com.
- 21:17Speaker 3: You mentioned sports. Dare I ask you about the Dallas Cowboys?
- 21:21Speaker 2: Look at the time.
- 21:22Speaker 4: Wow. Mark. Mark.
- 21:27Speaker 3: Look, did they intentionally sabotage the end of that game?
- 21:31Speaker 3: How do you not? That game was guaranteed overtime. Seven
- 21:35Speaker 3: seconds to go. You got the ball on the two.
- 21:38Speaker 3: Dak overthrows George Pickens supposedly on purpose. But then it's okay.
- 21:42Speaker 3: It's seven seconds, whatever. Then you kick the field goal.
- 21:45Speaker 3: You tie it up. And then you actually kick off
- 21:48Speaker 3: to them, which was an enormous mistake. Just squib it.
- 21:51Speaker 3: Let some clock time. And maybe not all the clock
- 21:53Speaker 3: would have gone away, but you would have had like
- 21:55Speaker 3: two or three seconds instead of seven it was enough
- 21:57Speaker 3: for Lamar Jackson to loft a pass call a timeout
- 22:01Speaker 3: and kick a game-winning field goal with one second to
- 22:03Speaker 3: go from 56 yards out in a stadium where they
- 22:07Speaker 3: never should have been playing. These international games make me crazy,
- 22:11Speaker 3: whether it's Rio or Frankfurt or Dublin or Melbourne. Why
- 22:16Speaker 3: do they do this, Mark?
- 22:18Speaker 4: Money.
- 22:18Speaker 3: They make a bunch of money.
- 22:20Speaker 4: From who?
- 22:21Speaker 3: From the people in Rio?
- 22:22Speaker 2: Sure. They have– is it kind of fun to go
- 22:26Speaker 2: see some American football– If you're living in Rio or
- 22:29Speaker 2: Dublin or Melbourne, Australia, sure. So if you throw the
- 22:33Speaker 2: Jaguars and somebody out there, the long-suffering Jaguars who get
- 22:37Speaker 2: most of those foreign games.
- 22:38Speaker 4: What are they going to do?
- 22:39Speaker 2: Are they going to have a foreign division? Are they
- 22:40Speaker 2: going to have a European division and make people play
- 22:43Speaker 2: their entire season jet-lagged out of their gourd? It's stupid,
- 22:47Speaker 2: and I wish they would stop.
- 22:48Speaker 3: Well, you know where you're going to make money is
- 22:50Speaker 3: you're going to make money in Dallas or you'd make
- 22:52Speaker 3: money in Baltimore or you'd make money for the teams
- 22:55Speaker 3: that host the games. I don't I am with you.
- 22:59Speaker 3: I find these games that we play in the National
- 23:04Speaker 3: Football League or in America's Major League Baseball. in Rio
- 23:10Speaker 3: or Paris or the black hole of Calcutta being the
- 23:15Speaker 3: stupidest thing imaginable. Why are you sticking your thumb in
- 23:21Speaker 3: the eye of a sports fan in Dallas, Texas, who
- 23:24Speaker 3: wants to see the game?
- 23:26Speaker 2: This would have been a home game. I don't know
- 23:27Speaker 2: if it would have been ours or the Ravens, but
- 23:29Speaker 2: it would have been something that the fans in either
- 23:31Speaker 2: of these cities would were denied the opportunity to go
- 23:34Speaker 2: and root for their team so that they could go
- 23:36Speaker 2: make a whole bunch of money in Brazil.
- 23:40Speaker 3: Brazil!
- 23:41Speaker 2: I would have had this complaint even if the Cowboys
- 23:44Speaker 2: had won. But they've got huge problems. The Schottenheimer honeymoon
- 23:47Speaker 2: is over. The coaching is bad. The preparation is bad.
- 23:51Speaker 2: Our talent remains good, which makes this intolerable.
- 23:56Speaker 3: It's awful. Gosh, I feel bad. I felt bad for
- 23:58Speaker 3: the Tampa Bay Bucs. I was watching the Bucs game
- 24:00Speaker 3: last night a little bit, too, here in Tampa Bay.
- 24:03Speaker 3: They blew it, and that hot shot quarterback went down.
- 24:07Speaker 3: They showed that injury. Mark, you don't often see this
- 24:10Speaker 3: on TV. I'm trying to think of the gunslinger quarterback.
- 24:14Speaker 3: I'm drawing a blank for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
- 24:16Speaker 2: Baker Mayfield?
- 24:18Speaker 3: Baker Mayfield goes down with a thumb injury. Look, if
- 24:22Speaker 3: you are in the NFL, I don't care what position
- 24:25Speaker 3: you're in, you're a tough, you're a man's man. You're
- 24:29Speaker 3: a tough guy. son of a, you know what you're,
- 24:31Speaker 3: you can take, I mean, these guys get hit on
- 24:35Speaker 3: a regular, he went down and he was screaming and
- 24:39Speaker 3: you could hear the announcer. And of course now they've
- 24:43Speaker 3: got the, I guess the sub for Tony Romo, if
- 24:46Speaker 3: I'm not mistaken, it was that crew was Jim Nance
- 24:48Speaker 3: and somebody else was JJ Watt. And I, and who's not,
- 24:53Speaker 3: he's no Tony Romo. And I'm sorry. I love me
- 24:56Speaker 3: some Tony Romo. I don't, I know he's polarizing and,
- 24:59Speaker 3: controversial as a broadcaster. I think he's a good guy.
- 25:02Speaker 3: I think he had a bad day and he made
- 25:04Speaker 3: a mistake, and I don't think he ought to lose
- 25:06Speaker 3: his career over the operating while intoxicated thing he had
- 25:10Speaker 3: in Wisconsin. But in any event, I think it was J.J.
- 25:14Speaker 3: I think that was the same broadcast group.
- 25:16Speaker 2: We've got to pause for a second because Jim Nance
- 25:18Speaker 2: and J.J. Watt were doing the Brazil game.
- 25:20Speaker 3: Oh, they were doing the Cowboys game. All right, so
- 25:22Speaker 3: whoever the color commentator was for the Bucs, I'm sorry.
- 25:25Speaker 3: I only watched a few minutes of it, but he said–
- 25:28Speaker 3: You can hear him screaming. Mark, he went down, and
- 25:34Speaker 3: you could hear it on the audio from the game.
- 25:37Speaker 3: The quarterback was screaming. Look, I'd be dead. They didn't
- 25:41Speaker 3: put me in a body bag. I mean, it may
- 25:43Speaker 3: just be a thumb, but you get my thumb pulled backwards.
- 25:47Speaker 3: You just have– that's it for me. Get me off
- 25:49Speaker 3: the field and take me to the funeral home.
- 25:51Speaker 2: The worst– I still remember because before they changed the
- 25:55Speaker 2: name and repelled me forever when I was growing up
- 25:58Speaker 2: in the suburbs of D.C. Of course, I bled burgundy
- 26:00Speaker 2: and gold for a long time. And then I was
- 26:02Speaker 2: working my way through radio and I was in Memphis
- 26:04Speaker 2: in the mid-1980s when Lawrence Taylor went down on Joe
- 26:08Speaker 2: Theismann's back leg as he reared back to pass. I
- 26:11Speaker 2: still see that.
- 26:13Speaker 5: Nightmares.
- 26:13Speaker 3: That was a nightmare. God bless them all. Hey, can
- 26:17Speaker 3: we do a little Bill Maher? Go back to him
- 26:19Speaker 3: for a moment. Do you mind? I want to play
- 26:21Speaker 3: something for you. This was from a week ago. But
- 26:24Speaker 3: it's so true. And I was saving it for you
- 26:27Speaker 3: on your triumphant return to the Eminem Extra. Bill Maher,
- 26:32Speaker 3: Trump was taking some pot shots at Maher this morning.
- 26:34Speaker 3: And I don't, Trump ought to take the win on
- 26:37Speaker 3: Bill Maher. Because Bill Maher is willing to give Trump
- 26:40Speaker 3: credit where credit is due.
- 26:41Speaker 5: Yep.
- 26:42Speaker 3: You know, if there's a criticism of Trump that is accurate,
- 26:46Speaker 3: and I say this as a supporter, you're a supporter,
- 26:48Speaker 3: we voted for him three times. The criticism of Trump
- 26:51Speaker 3: that is accurate is if you're not 100% on board
- 26:54Speaker 3: with him, he's liable to just take your legs out
- 26:58Speaker 3: from under you. And he did that today. He put
- 27:02Speaker 3: Bill Maher in the same category as, I think, Scarborough,
- 27:06Speaker 3: or maybe it was O'Donnell, one of the MSNL clowns.
- 27:09Speaker 3: And it's like Bill Maher is so willing to be
- 27:13Speaker 3: fair with Trump sometimes.
- 27:15Speaker 4: Not always.
- 27:17Speaker 3: Not necessarily consistently. But he does give him credit where
- 27:21Speaker 3: credit is due. I want you to hear the little
- 27:22Speaker 3: tirade he went on about what the Democratic Socialists of
- 27:26Speaker 3: America represent. This was last week. You were already gone.
- 27:30Speaker 3: He had Jessica Tarloff on as a guest from The Five.
- 27:34Speaker 3: And she was doing her best to try to keep
- 27:36Speaker 3: her head above water. And Maher wasn't having a lot
- 27:39Speaker 3: of her either. And listen to what Maher said. Hey,
- 27:44Speaker 3: we're 36 days away. You're going to vote for the DSA?
- 27:47Speaker 3: You want to vote for these DSA candidates? Do you
- 27:50Speaker 3: know what the Democrat Socialists of America stand for? Bill
- 27:54Speaker 3: Maher does.
- 27:55Speaker 6: Have you seen the platform from the Democratic Socialists of America?
- 28:00Speaker 6: They ask us to imagine a future without capitalism, where
- 28:03Speaker 6: your job isn't just a job to pay bills. And
- 28:06Speaker 6: then they say, speaking of bills, you don't really have
- 28:09Speaker 6: them anymore.
- 28:11Speaker 4: No bills. I'm listening. I'm listening to insanity, but I'm listening.
- 28:18Speaker 3: I'm listening.
- 28:21Speaker 6: Their website says in the future, you don't pay a
- 28:23Speaker 6: mortgage or have a landlord because comfortable housing is a
- 28:26Speaker 6: human right.
- 28:27Speaker 4: Wow.
- 28:28Speaker 6: So the government pays for all housing for everyone everywhere?
- 28:31Speaker 6: That sounds like it could be a little pricey. Oh,
- 28:35Speaker 6: not just housing?
- 28:36Speaker 4: Also health insurance? Food? Education? Medicine? Transportation? Free daycare? Free
- 28:41Speaker 4: universal daycare?
- 28:43Speaker 3: Just day?
- 28:44Speaker 4: What about.
- 28:48Speaker 3: What about night? So, I mean....
- 28:51Speaker 6: Just how much will this heaven on earth cost? Well,
- 28:55Speaker 6: the estimates are between 72 trillion and 212 trillion, which,
- 29:00Speaker 6: of course, Debbie Downer economists say will cause astronomical.
- 29:03Speaker 4: Inflation, whatever. Well, then give everyone more money.
- 29:06Speaker 6: Isn't that hard? Just stop worrying about money. It gives
- 29:10Speaker 6: you those fine lines.
- 29:13Speaker 4: Like, take L.A. County. Something bad happened here.
- 29:17Speaker 6: Kids in foster care were abused in decades past, going back.
- 29:21Speaker 4: To 1959, and now L.A.
- 29:23Speaker 6: Is going to give almost $ 5 billion to the victims,
- 29:26Speaker 6: even though experts say this may very well bankrupt the
- 29:29Speaker 6: county and thus the people who live here today, who
- 29:32Speaker 6: feel bad about the whole thing but didn't themselves commit
- 29:35Speaker 6: sex crimes in the Eisenhower era. But we're going to
- 29:38Speaker 6: do it anyway because it's the right thing to do
- 29:40Speaker 6: in a world where money is free and consequences don't exist.
- 29:43Speaker 4: People, money is there to be given away. I mean,
- 29:48Speaker 4: it's not really there, of course.
- 29:49Speaker 3: It's all gone.
- 29:51Speaker 6: What would be your opinion of $ 5 million? Because in 2021,
- 29:54Speaker 6: the San Francisco reparations plan recommended paying every eligible black
- 29:59Speaker 6: adult that amount, plus a house for $ 1 and the
- 30:03Speaker 6: elimination of all personal debt and a guaranteed income of
- 30:06Speaker 6: nearly $ 100, 000.
- 30:07Speaker 4: For 250 years.
- 30:09Speaker 6: And let me just say, not only do I support
- 30:11Speaker 6: this proposal, I'm willing to identify as whatever it takes
- 30:13Speaker 6: to get it. I mean, imagine what you'd get if
- 30:19Speaker 6: you're black and got diddled in foster care.
- 30:22Speaker 2: Oh, oh, oh, just I mean, but it's classic. And
- 30:27Speaker 2: then just this past weekend on the same real time
- 30:29Speaker 2: program with Bill Maher, he's talking about crime going down.
- 30:32Speaker 2: He said, sure, some of that's political, some of it's not.
- 30:35Speaker 2: But of the part that's political, it's called Trump making
- 30:38Speaker 2: clear that that crime is going to have punishment, that
- 30:41Speaker 2: wrongdoing may not be as tolerated. that Democrats are way
- 30:45Speaker 2: more permissive about everything, and maybe some of the reason
- 30:47Speaker 2: that crime is going down is because, Bill Maher's words,
- 30:50Speaker 2: because Trump is a badass. You can't not notice things
- 30:54Speaker 2: like that.
- 30:55Speaker 3: Let's listen. This is a shorter clip. Let's listen together.
- 30:57Speaker 3: We've got that clip as well. Bill Maher, this is
- 31:00Speaker 3: giving Trump credit where credit is due, and I would
- 31:03Speaker 3: think President Trump would like being described by Bill Maher
- 31:07Speaker 3: as a badass.
- 31:08Speaker 4: And it's not just drug crime that's way down. It's
- 31:11Speaker 4: all crime. And again... Probably much of it is not political.
- 31:15Speaker 6: It's because you can't move two inches in America without
- 31:17Speaker 6: being tracked, photographed, and followed by a flock camera. But
- 31:21Speaker 6: it's also because when Democrats expand the safety net, there
- 31:25Speaker 6: are less desperate people. And because Trump is a badass. Now,
- 31:30Speaker 6: I don't agree with many of his methods, like how
- 31:33Speaker 6: they sometimes just deport people to countries where they have
- 31:36Speaker 6: absolutely no connection, like Meghan and Harry. LAUGHTER Is doing
- 31:48Speaker 6: it this way the right thing?
- 31:50Speaker 5: No.
- 31:51Speaker 6: But it's just childish to pretend that when you elect
- 31:53Speaker 6: to f * * * around and find out president,
- 31:56Speaker 6: a no more Mr. Nice Guy booting your ass, V
- 31:59Speaker 6: for Vendetta, kick ass and take names, say hello to
- 32:03Speaker 6: my little friend president, that's not going to have some
- 32:06Speaker 6: effect on crime.
- 32:07Speaker 4: He has UFC fights on the lawn. I think the
- 32:10Speaker 4: bad guy's got the message.
- 32:12Speaker 3: That's it?
- 32:14Speaker 4: The badass.
- 32:15Speaker 2: And yet to have won over... To have Bill Maher
- 32:18Speaker 2: saying those things about you is as noteworthy a victory
- 32:22Speaker 2: as any dyed-in-the-wool, red-meat conservative saying good things about you.
- 32:27Speaker 2: We're supposed to. We're front-loaded to have support for the
- 32:31Speaker 2: Trump agenda. When you get something like that– and I
- 32:34Speaker 2: know in Trump land, it's either– It's very, very binary,
- 32:37Speaker 2: very black and white. You're either for me or against me.
- 32:40Speaker 2: And when Bill Maher went to the White House and
- 32:44Speaker 2: Trump autographed the 100 or so insults, he has that
- 32:49Speaker 2: framed in his own podcast studio there on Club Random,
- 32:53Speaker 2: the podcast he does. But I don't know. These are
- 32:56Speaker 2: curious times.
- 32:57Speaker 3: These are curious times, and they get curiouser and curiouser.
- 33:02Speaker 3: When you were gone on Friday, I decided to devote
- 33:05Speaker 3: the whole episode to my heart health. And I did
- 33:08Speaker 3: it because it's relevant to people. And when you get
- 33:13Speaker 3: to a certain age, after you're 50, you've got to
- 33:16Speaker 3: stay on top of stuff. And you and I are
- 33:19Speaker 3: so thankful for these body scans because you had one.
- 33:24Speaker 3: showed a little bit of a concern. They got in there.
- 33:27Speaker 3: They did a little, they did the end, the catheterization,
- 33:31Speaker 3: and you got a 30% blockage, which is pretty good.
- 33:34Speaker 3: You're all right. You're going to be fine. You're going
- 33:35Speaker 3: to stay on top of it. They checked me after
- 33:38Speaker 3: a body scan, and I have a 52% blockage in
- 33:41Speaker 3: the old Widowmaker. And I'm, you know, I'm going to
- 33:46Speaker 3: be very careful about it. And one of the big
- 33:48Speaker 3: things they tell you to do is lose weight. And
- 33:50Speaker 3: when I think about how God has blessed us with
- 33:53Speaker 3: so many Ways to take care of yourself. Look, weight
- 33:57Speaker 3: is a huge factor when it comes to plaque buildup
- 34:02Speaker 3: in your arteries. It's just a fact. And you lose
- 34:05Speaker 3: the weight and you stay. Look, 30 minutes a day
- 34:07Speaker 3: on the bike now. I'm doing it seven days a week.
- 34:09Speaker 3: My doctor said, Mike, you could do five. I said, nope,
- 34:11Speaker 3: I want to do seven. And I don't kill myself.
- 34:15Speaker 3: I mean, I do a moderate amount. 30 minutes, I
- 34:18Speaker 3: can doom scroll on my phone. I can stare at
- 34:21Speaker 3: my new handle on X at Mike Gallagher rather than
- 34:24Speaker 3: at Gallagher's show, but I'm doing it while I'm pedaling.
- 34:27Speaker 3: But I also, thank goodness, can share the news that
- 34:31Speaker 3: PhD weight loss works. Somebody just texted on the comment
- 34:35Speaker 3: line on our YouTube page that Mike's You can see
- 34:38Speaker 3: Mike getting thinner and thinner, and I am. I put
- 34:41Speaker 3: weight back on this past year. I got back on
- 34:43Speaker 3: the PhD bandwagon, and I said, no more. And I've lost,
- 34:47Speaker 3: I'm not kidding you, since June 25th. I'm right now
- 34:50Speaker 3: at almost 40 pounds down. Since June 25th, this is
- 34:55Speaker 3: only the end of September, PHD works.
- 34:57Speaker 2: Well, this is incredible. With that kind of time and
- 35:00Speaker 2: that kind of track record, there's no reason for people
- 35:03Speaker 2: not to go right to 864-644-1900, 864-644-1900, or myphdweightloss.com. There's
- 35:10Speaker 2: a familiar Mike G promo code. Mike and Mark, they'll
- 35:14Speaker 2: know that you got it from us. And you get
- 35:15Speaker 2: two free weeks in the program. They'll even cover the
- 35:17Speaker 2: cost of the food. What's that, $ 1, 500? So who doesn't
- 35:20Speaker 2: want to do that?
- 35:23Speaker 3: 864-644-1900 or MyPhDWeightLoss.com. Take advantage of these great tools that
- 35:30Speaker 3: we have around us to stay on top of things. Because, Mark, look,
- 35:34Speaker 3: and I did. I got tons of great feedback after
- 35:37Speaker 3: I did the show. I was a little embarrassed because
- 35:38Speaker 3: I thought, but I was like literally reading my heart
- 35:41Speaker 3: scan on the air Friday on the podcast. I thought,
- 35:45Speaker 3: narcissist much? But I wanted people to know that this
- 35:48Speaker 3: is what I've got. This is what I'm facing. And
- 35:51Speaker 3: you know me. You know me well enough to know
- 35:54Speaker 3: I am convinced I'm going to drop dead any second now.
- 35:57Speaker 3: I mean, I've got Tracy involved. I've got her enrolled
- 35:59Speaker 3: in CPR classes.
- 36:01Speaker 2: Talk fast. Just in case.
- 36:02Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah. No kidding.
- 36:04Speaker 2: Get this going, man.
- 36:05Speaker 3: Did you when you got the concern and I remember
- 36:09Speaker 3: your call and you you and I talked privately before
- 36:12Speaker 3: you went public with your heart catheterization and you shared,
- 36:17Speaker 3: you know, but you sounded fine. You weren't worried at all.
- 36:21Speaker 3: Were there any doubts? Did you do you think about
- 36:23Speaker 3: your mortality in moments like these, Mark?
- 36:26Speaker 4: I do.
- 36:27Speaker 2: My dad had a heart attack when he was 36
- 36:29Speaker 2: years old, and I've outlived both my mom and my dad.
- 36:32Speaker 2: Both my mom and my dad had both cancer and
- 36:34Speaker 2: heart disease, so I'm just happy to get to each weekend.
- 36:38Speaker 2: And yet, I've had doctors tell me that having outlived
- 36:41Speaker 2: both of my parents, my mom died when she was 64,
- 36:44Speaker 2: my dad's 66, and I'll be 69, God willing, coming
- 36:48Speaker 2: up in November, that it means that there must be markers.
- 36:50Speaker 2: And of course, I've also never smoked.
- 36:52Speaker 3: You know, I'm.
- 36:56Speaker 2: I guess I'm pretty good at handling stress or making
- 36:59Speaker 2: decisions that lead to less stress, which is a good
- 37:01Speaker 2: thing that I took way too long to figure out.
- 37:03Speaker 2: But that suggests that it's not like there's a ticking
- 37:06Speaker 2: clock on me necessarily any more or less than anybody else.
- 37:10Speaker 2: But I feel like I have a strong sense of
- 37:12Speaker 2: faith in God's timing, but also that I, too, want
- 37:15Speaker 2: to do things in terms of weight loss and exercise
- 37:17Speaker 2: and just being just making good decisions and so that
- 37:21Speaker 2: ultimately you don't have to walk around just wondering if
- 37:23Speaker 2: this is your last day, if this is your last year. But,
- 37:28Speaker 2: you know, heredity is one thing. Choices are another. And, yeah,
- 37:32Speaker 2: there are two lists, things that are under your control
- 37:35Speaker 2: and things that aren't. Of the things that are under
- 37:38Speaker 2: your control, get on it.
- 37:40Speaker 3: Get on it. And the things that aren't, let them go.
- 37:43Speaker 3: You can't control heredity. And I'm the same way. I
- 37:46Speaker 3: lost my mom when she was 59. My dad died
- 37:49Speaker 3: when he was 63. So I've outlived both of them too.
- 37:52Speaker 3: And I think about that often. And I always thought,
- 37:54Speaker 3: because cancer took them both. I mean, my mom died
- 37:57Speaker 3: of bladder cancer. My dad died of what was really
- 38:00Speaker 3: cancer of the blood. It was leukemia. but they both
- 38:03Speaker 3: died at young ages. And so I always figured cancer
- 38:08Speaker 3: was probably, I hate to say it out loud, but
- 38:10Speaker 3: in the cards for me, I'd never dreamed of heart,
- 38:14Speaker 3: never thought there'd be some kind of a heart thing. And,
- 38:17Speaker 3: you know, but look, I'm going to control what I
- 38:19Speaker 3: can control. In fact, I'm going to meet with a
- 38:21Speaker 3: cardiologist tomorrow for the first time here in Florida. And
- 38:25Speaker 3: then I have a friend whose voice is in my
- 38:27Speaker 3: head saying, Mike, You don't want a Florida cardiologist. You
- 38:31Speaker 3: want a New York cardiologist. Why? Because the New York
- 38:35Speaker 3: cardiologists are better. Now, I don't know if that's true
- 38:37Speaker 3: or not. Oh, that's weird.
- 38:39Speaker 2: You don't buy that?
- 38:40Speaker 3: It's not– I mean– I mean, I go to New
- 38:43Speaker 3: York all the time. I go to New York regularly.
- 38:45Speaker 2: So if you have a choice– I guess just by
- 38:47Speaker 2: raw population, if they're just more people, more doctors. But
- 38:50Speaker 2: it's not like the difference between New York and Idaho.
- 38:54Speaker 2: I mean, you're in Florida, which is God's waiting room
- 38:59Speaker 2: for a lot of people because you've got tons of
- 39:01Speaker 2: quality cardiologists that will keep you on the planet for
- 39:04Speaker 2: as long as we need.
- 39:05Speaker 3: I hope so. Well, we'll keep you posted on it.
- 39:08Speaker 3: I'm going to, you know me, I don't suffer in
- 39:10Speaker 3: silence and there's no suffering. Oh, we're going to know everything.
- 39:13Speaker 3: But I feel great. Like you feel great. I mean,
- 39:15Speaker 3: we both feel good and we love doing what we
- 39:18Speaker 3: get to do, but look, this is truly life and
- 39:20Speaker 3: death kind of stuff. And we want to stay alive
- 39:22Speaker 3: for as long as possible. And I want you to
- 39:24Speaker 3: step up and save babies' lives. That's why Preborn is
- 39:27Speaker 3: our title sponsor. Every day we get to select this beautiful,
- 39:32Speaker 3: beautiful organization that simply provides ultrasounds to young women and
- 39:36Speaker 3: girls who are considering an abortion, because Mark, it is
- 39:40Speaker 3: statistically a fact that when a woman sees her baby
- 39:44Speaker 3: on an ultrasound and hears her baby's heartbeat, it doubles
- 39:48Speaker 3: the chance that she's going to choose life.
- 39:50Speaker 2: And it's easy that when you think about it, it
- 39:53Speaker 2: becomes pretty obvious because abortion for many is kind of
- 39:55Speaker 2: conceptual where you just go, I got a problem, got
- 39:58Speaker 2: to fix the problem.
- 39:59Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 39:59Speaker 2: When you see what's going on, you realize that you
- 40:01Speaker 2: don't have a problem. You have a life growing inside you.
- 40:04Speaker 2: If the problem is you don't want to be a mom, okay,
- 40:07Speaker 2: choose life, choose adoption. You don't have to kill that
- 40:10Speaker 2: life that's growing inside you. And if that ultrasound and
- 40:13Speaker 2: hearing the heartbeat and seeing the life growing inside you
- 40:15Speaker 2: is Is something that helps you choose life? Isn't that
- 40:18Speaker 2: something everybody listening and everybody watching would like to do
- 40:21Speaker 2: something to help? And here's how you can. $ 140 helps
- 40:24Speaker 2: give five mothers a free ultrasound. $ 280 saves 10 babies.
- 40:29Speaker 2: $ 28 a month can help save a baby a month
- 40:31Speaker 2: for less than a dollar a day. And if you
- 40:33Speaker 2: do happen to have $ 15, 000, you can buy an ultrasound
- 40:37Speaker 2: machine that will save lives for years to come. And
- 40:40Speaker 2: it's 833-850-BABY, 833-850-BABY, or go to preborn.com slash mmextra. We're
- 40:48Speaker 2: so grateful with all the messaging that we've given you
- 40:50Speaker 2: today and all the people who are helping us bring
- 40:52Speaker 2: these messages to you. Just know how proud we are
- 40:54Speaker 2: to help save the lives of the unborn with our
- 40:58Speaker 2: friends at preborn, preborn.com slash mmextra.
- 41:02Speaker 3: And you know what I want to do this week
- 41:04Speaker 3: on our shows? Because this is important. First of all,
- 41:07Speaker 3: a little housekeeping. Thanks for supporting all our sponsors and
- 41:11Speaker 3: our partners. Don't forget to like and subscribe. And I
- 41:14Speaker 3: want to make sure that you just click on that
- 41:17Speaker 3: like button or the subscribe. Like and subscribe at M &
- 41:20Speaker 3: M Extra. Here we are, YouTube, Apple, Spotify, wherever you
- 41:23Speaker 3: get your podcasts. Please subscribe. Please like what we do
- 41:27Speaker 3: because we continue to grow by leaps and bounds. On
- 41:29Speaker 3: our pre-born campaign... I've got this vision that M &
- 41:34Speaker 3: M Extra is going to donate an entire ultrasound machine,
- 41:38Speaker 3: which is $ 15, 000. So far, we have two people who
- 41:43Speaker 3: graciously donated $ 3, 000 apiece, tax deductible, and you're going to
- 41:47Speaker 3: have lunch with Mark and Mike in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.
- 41:52Speaker 3: So we need three more. We've got 6,000 in. We
- 41:55Speaker 3: need three more donors. You can bring a guest. And Mark,
- 41:59Speaker 3: we've got to start doing this on our respective shows.
- 42:01Speaker 3: Can we dive in tomorrow on Eminem? Let's do it.
- 42:05Speaker 3: Eminem Experience. I mean, let's do it on your show
- 42:08Speaker 3: on KSky and then on my network show we'll do
- 42:10Speaker 3: it as well. Because I think we can wrap this
- 42:13Speaker 3: up and get 15,000 in. in the kitty. There's nothing
- 42:16Speaker 3: like this audience. And the podcast family is growing and
- 42:21Speaker 3: becoming connected with one another. And we're doing it in
- 42:23Speaker 3: a variety of ways. Mark, I like getting personal on
- 42:26Speaker 3: this podcast. I like asking you things about mortality. One
- 42:30Speaker 3: of my kids and one of my sons and I
- 42:32Speaker 3: talked last night about everything he was calling to see
- 42:35Speaker 3: how I was feeling and what's going on. He said,
- 42:36Speaker 3: are you scared? And I said, I'm scared of one thing.
- 42:40Speaker 3: I'm not scared of dying. I'm not scared of when
- 42:44Speaker 3: God says it's your time. I don't want to die
- 42:47Speaker 3: like alone and like Lindsey Graham. That was the reason
- 42:51Speaker 3: I got the scan, by the way. When I read
- 42:53Speaker 3: about the circumstances behind Lindsey's passing— I thought this poor
- 42:57Speaker 3: guy is in his townhouse in D.C. calling his staff,
- 43:02Speaker 3: knowing something was terribly wrong. And then they couldn't get
- 43:04Speaker 3: in the door because the door was locked. That's what
- 43:07Speaker 3: I don't want. I don't want to have a cardiac
- 43:09Speaker 3: event while I'm home alone, and I don't know if
- 43:13Speaker 3: they're going to get up to me in time or whatever.
- 43:15Speaker 3: That's what scares me, and that's just me venting a
- 43:20Speaker 3: little bit publicly and getting very personal.
- 43:22Speaker 2: Well, it's funny, too, because if there are any two
- 43:24Speaker 2: people who do radio shows with their lives just spilled
- 43:27Speaker 2: out like an open book, it's you and me. But
- 43:29Speaker 2: there's something about this environment where we have the time
- 43:32Speaker 2: and complete topical freedom. We have a radio obligation to
- 43:36Speaker 2: hit the top news stories, which we do here in
- 43:38Speaker 2: the podcast world as well. But when it's just time
- 43:40Speaker 2: to kind of just riff about life, I still have
- 43:43Speaker 2: people come to me and talk about a month, two
- 43:47Speaker 2: months ago when we did Education Friday, which involved education policy,
- 43:52Speaker 2: but also involved what it was like when young Mark
- 43:54Speaker 2: and young Mike were in school and the stories of
- 43:56Speaker 2: your childhood and And what you kind of had to
- 43:58Speaker 2: go through with what was going on at home or
- 43:59Speaker 2: what was going on in a couple of weird school situations,
- 44:02Speaker 2: it was in such detail and so vivid, people still go,
- 44:05Speaker 2: I couldn't stop listening. I couldn't. And it just touched people.
- 44:10Speaker 2: We don't get together in three dimensions as human beings
- 44:13Speaker 2: enough to talk about stuff. So if the stuff that
- 44:15Speaker 2: we do helps just be a plan B for that,
- 44:20Speaker 2: then I'm more than blessed and more than happy to
- 44:23Speaker 2: do it with you and with all these wonderful viewers
- 44:25Speaker 2: and listeners.
- 44:26Speaker 3: I'd love to make Eminem Extra a place where we
- 44:29Speaker 3: get deeply personal, especially on Fridays when we sort of
- 44:32Speaker 3: go off the typical headlines and the breaking news. So
- 44:36Speaker 3: join us each and every day. Thank you for being
- 44:38Speaker 3: a part of it. A big thank you to Eric
- 44:40Speaker 3: and Yasmin and Tracy for doing such a great job
- 44:44Speaker 3: helping to put this podcast together. And Mark, let's do
- 44:47Speaker 3: it again tomorrow. What do you think?
- 44:48Speaker 4: I think that's a plan.
- 44:49Speaker 3: Tomorrow will be five weeks to the election.
- 44:51Speaker 2: We'll have that and much more.
- 44:52Speaker 3: So do join us. See you tomorrow.
- 44:57Speaker 4: Thank you.
