- 0:00Speaker 1: What's going on, everybody, It's Jeff here. I wanted to
- 0:03Speaker 1: let you know we recorded this podcast episode on Monday,
- 0:05Speaker 1: March third, twenty twenty five. By the time you hear this,
- 0:08Speaker 1: some things may have changed here or there, but we
- 0:10Speaker 1: hope you enjoyed the show. Welcome to Table Talk here
- 0:34Speaker 1: at the Philadelphia Sports Table podcast show, the longest running
- 0:37Speaker 1: weekly Philly sports podcast show in the world, over eleven
- 0:40Speaker 1: and a half year strong than April's going to be
- 0:42Speaker 1: twelve years and we love being in your ears. We
- 0:45Speaker 1: got a great Table Talk discussion coming your way this
- 0:48Speaker 1: week where we dive into some NFL draft talk, some
- 0:52Speaker 1: prospects talk. We're gonna be getting into a couple of
- 0:54Speaker 1: teams to arrival of the Philadelphia Eagles what they may
- 0:57Speaker 1: be doing during this offseason in terms of the draft
- 1:01Speaker 1: as well. I can't believe draft season is here. I
- 1:03Speaker 1: mean a lot of us were watching the Combine this
- 1:05Speaker 1: past week, watching a lot of talent that's going to
- 1:08Speaker 1: be entering pro football in the near future. So we
- 1:11Speaker 1: got a great discussion coming away. Let's get right to
- 1:14Speaker 1: it and joining us this week. He is the lead
- 1:16Speaker 1: writer over at Fans Side and absolutely love talking football
- 1:20Speaker 1: with him, and especially as the NFL Draft is right
- 1:22Speaker 1: around the corner, a lot of prospects to get into.
- 1:25Speaker 1: And we're certainly gonna be talking a lot about the
- 1:27Speaker 1: upcoming NFL Draft on the Philadelphia Sports Table podcast show
- 1:30Speaker 1: for the coming weeks. So anyway, we've got to John
- 1:34Speaker 1: Bueller with us from Fans Side and John, Buddy, it
- 1:36Speaker 1: is great to see you, Great to talk with you.
- 1:38Speaker 1: Thanks for jumping on this week.
- 1:40Speaker 2: Always a pleasure, draft, always a pleasure. You're looking forward
- 1:43Speaker 2: to it?
- 1:43Speaker 1: Yeah, we got a great discussion coming your way, and
- 1:45Speaker 1: I really wanted to get into, like right off the bat,
- 1:48Speaker 1: one of the Philadelphia Eagles' main rivals in the NFC East,
- 1:52Speaker 1: the Dallas Cowboys, and what they may do in the
- 1:55Speaker 1: upcoming NFL Draft. Interestingly enough, as I'm like scrolling through Twitter,
- 2:01Speaker 1: you know, I come across one of your stories and
- 2:04Speaker 1: you put up a piece recently on Fans Side that
- 2:06Speaker 1: really talked about Brian Schottenheimer's recent comments that make the
- 2:11Speaker 1: Cowboys first pick of the draft seem inevitable. He appears
- 2:16Speaker 1: to want that running back of the future in Dallas. John,
- 2:19Speaker 1: And I'm wondering, you know, as you were writing the
- 2:21Speaker 1: piece as you're covering this story here, what are your
- 2:24Speaker 1: thoughts on how Brian Schottenheimer really went about this and
- 2:27Speaker 1: how the Cowboys are really looking at the running back
- 2:30Speaker 1: position through this draft. What are your thoughts here?
- 2:34Speaker 2: It's very interesting with Dallas because this is Brian Schottenheimer's
- 2:39Speaker 2: first and maybe potentially only opportunity to be a head coach. Right,
- 2:44Speaker 2: none of the other teams that had a vacancy interviewed him.
- 2:47Speaker 2: I think the last time he was up for a
- 2:49Speaker 2: job might have been for Vanderbilt when it went to
- 2:51Speaker 2: Derek Mason the way back in the day.
- 2:53Speaker 1: Yeah that's a while ago.
- 2:54Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:55Speaker 2: So, like, Brian Schottenheimer is one of the mutuals that
- 2:59Speaker 2: me and my fancy dot com colleague Cody Williams, so
- 3:02Speaker 2: I do a do the Fall Start podcast with. So
- 3:04Speaker 2: he's a Cowboys fan, I'm a Georgia fan. So Brian
- 3:06Speaker 2: Schottenheimer has been the OC for both of our teams. Look,
- 3:10Speaker 2: Brian Schottenheimer is the son of Marty Schottenheimer, and that
- 3:13Speaker 2: means Marty ball run run past punts, so obviously runs
- 3:17Speaker 2: the two most important downs there.
- 3:19Speaker 3: And I think with him getting.
- 3:21Speaker 2: Promoted from within, it's a blessing and a curse for
- 3:24Speaker 2: the Cowboys. It's a blessing in the sense that he
- 3:27Speaker 2: knows the roster very well. He's been there for a
- 3:29Speaker 2: long time, you know, throughout I think the entire Mike
- 3:32Speaker 2: McCarthy era. So he knows what the problems are. But
- 3:35Speaker 2: then you're also like, I can't see the forest of
- 3:37Speaker 2: the treats. Yeah, you're you're picking at twelve. And the
- 3:42Speaker 2: idea is like if Ashon genty of Boise States there, Yeah,
- 3:45Speaker 2: take him, That's fine, that's you know, that's like taking
- 3:48Speaker 2: b John Robinson. That's like taking Todd Gurley back in
- 3:51Speaker 2: the day Jamior Gibbs, that type.
- 3:53Speaker 3: Of running back.
- 3:54Speaker 2: Yeah, Like if you're at twelve and he goes six
- 3:56Speaker 2: to the Raiders, are you really going to take O'mrion
- 3:59Speaker 2: Hampton out of North Carolina who is probably gonna go
- 4:02Speaker 2: like twenty four to the Vikings or something like that.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Yep. And what I find interesting, and we're gonna get into,
- 4:08Speaker 1: like how certain positions are kind of deep in the draft.
- 4:12Speaker 1: I mean, one position that is deep in this draft again,
- 4:15Speaker 1: we're gonna get to it is the interior defensive line position.
- 4:18Speaker 1: And I would think that the Cowboys. It would behoof
- 4:21Speaker 1: of them to possibly look at that type of position,
- 4:25Speaker 1: but I just don't know if they're gonna do it.
- 4:27Speaker 1: Like it seems that the Dallas Cowboys, year in and
- 4:30Speaker 1: year out, they make head scratching decisions when it comes
- 4:33Speaker 1: to the NFL Draft, when it comes to free agency,
- 4:36Speaker 1: when it comes to franchise tagging certain players. It's just
- 4:40Speaker 1: they're a mind boggling organization. And as an Eagles fan,
- 4:43Speaker 1: I'm on the sidelines loving it. I'm absolutely loving what
- 4:46Speaker 1: the Dallas Cowboys are doing. So it's gonna be interesting
- 4:49Speaker 1: to see what they do with that first round pick.
- 4:50Speaker 1: And again, we're gonna be getting into a lot of
- 4:52Speaker 1: this in the future here on the PSD podcast show.
- 4:56Speaker 1: But I wanted to reference another article, John, that you
- 4:58Speaker 1: had recently wrote O Fans Sided about the Atlanta Falcons,
- 5:02Speaker 1: and I view this franchise in a very interesting way
- 5:07Speaker 1: because of just how they've been flailing for so long.
- 5:11Speaker 1: There are franchise I think that could potentially take it
- 5:15Speaker 1: to the next level year after year, but they continually
- 5:19Speaker 1: fail at it. And I read your recent piece just
- 5:23Speaker 1: on how they really need to concentrate on their pass rush.
- 5:26Speaker 1: This offseason. I mean it's one of the worst in
- 5:28Speaker 1: the NFL. I mean, this is the team that's been
- 5:30Speaker 1: all over the place again in recent years, bizarre decision
- 5:33Speaker 1: making in terms of their roster and personnel. Do you
- 5:36Speaker 1: see the Atlanta Falcons making a strategic push to upgrade
- 5:40Speaker 1: their pass rush through free agency, the draft or both.
- 5:44Speaker 1: How do you think they how do you think they
- 5:46Speaker 1: plan on, you know, making that plan of action for themselves.
- 5:50Speaker 2: Well, this is the team I read for Jemorge on Saturday,
- 5:53Speaker 2: Falcons on Sundays, So it all evens.
- 5:55Speaker 3: Out in the end. I just hope they have a plan.
- 6:00Speaker 2: I know they're not really swimming in cap space. So
- 6:03Speaker 2: the ability to bring back Matthew Judon on a second
- 6:06Speaker 2: contract is probably not happening. You may it's kind of
- 6:09Speaker 2: hit or miss. If you're gonna bring Justin Simmons back,
- 6:11Speaker 2: he may go to Philadelphia because Vic Vangio's there and
- 6:14Speaker 2: you've got to replace Darius Slay and everything like that.
- 6:18Speaker 3: But I would hope that.
- 6:20Speaker 2: The Falcons probably do what they did last year at quarterback,
- 6:24Speaker 2: like they're like, Okay, let's get a guy and Cousins,
- 6:26Speaker 2: let's get a guy in Pennix. But like at pass rusher,
- 6:29Speaker 2: So you're attempting to solve it, and you may you
- 6:31Speaker 2: may pay a premium for potentially a guy from the Eagles,
- 6:34Speaker 2: Josh Sweat may become available. I think that he may
- 6:36Speaker 2: have priced himself out. You go, you go in that direction.
- 6:40Speaker 2: I'd love for them to get a guy like Jalen
- 6:42Speaker 2: Walker out of Georgia, Michael Williams out of Georgia, maybe
- 6:45Speaker 2: Mike Green out of Marshall. James Pearce Junior out of
- 6:48Speaker 2: Tennessee scares me a little bit because he reminds me
- 6:50Speaker 2: of Vic Beasley, and I can't, I can't.
- 6:51Speaker 1: I can't do that anymore.
- 6:54Speaker 2: No, no, no, But I will say though Atlanta has
- 6:57Speaker 2: hit on a lot of its first round picks, just
- 7:01Speaker 2: not in the defensive line, you know, the attack mckinleys
- 7:03Speaker 2: of the world, the dry Perry. So maybe if Will
- 7:06Speaker 2: Johnson's still there out of Michigan at cornerback, get a
- 7:10Speaker 2: guy to pair opposite of aj Twell go from there
- 7:13Speaker 2: and then maybe, you know, maybe maybe take a guy
- 7:15Speaker 2: in a free agency. You also have Brayln Trice, who
- 7:18Speaker 2: was third round pick out of Washington, got injured the
- 7:20Speaker 2: first preseason game. They're expecting big things with him opposite
- 7:24Speaker 2: of ard Le mccketty obviously didn't work out because he
- 7:26Speaker 2: didn't play.
- 7:27Speaker 3: But I hope that they go out about.
- 7:29Speaker 2: It, you know, not just having one guy solve all
- 7:31Speaker 2: the problems, just just attacking like the Eagles, dud just
- 7:33Speaker 2: just draft a bunch of dogs and go for.
- 7:35Speaker 1: That absolutely, especially in the trenches, right yeah, you gotta
- 7:38Speaker 1: have that solidified in the NFL anymore these days. So
- 7:42Speaker 1: all right, well, John, let's get into some NFL prospects
- 7:45Speaker 1: talk here. I want to get into some players that
- 7:48Speaker 1: may make a difference for some teams at the top
- 7:51Speaker 1: of the draft board. And of course, as we do
- 7:53Speaker 1: every year when it's draft time, we're looking at the
- 7:56Speaker 1: quarterback position. We're looking at the quarterback position to see
- 8:01Speaker 1: how they're gonna be able to help various teams in
- 8:03Speaker 1: the future. We know the two top prospects, Cam York
- 8:07Speaker 1: Judor Sanders Jackson Dart from Ole miss is also a quarterback.
- 8:11Speaker 1: I guess we can keep our eyes on. Not too
- 8:14Speaker 1: sure if he's gonna be a first round draft pick necessarily.
- 8:17Speaker 1: Then again, crazy things have happened in NFL drafts as
- 8:20Speaker 1: of late. I mean, I'm wondering are the top teams
- 8:24Speaker 1: like the Tech, the Titans, I'm sorry, Titans, Browns, and Giants.
- 8:28Speaker 1: I mean, are they going to be jocking for position
- 8:31Speaker 1: over talent like York and Sanders. How do you kind
- 8:36Speaker 1: of see this playing out from everything that you've been
- 8:39Speaker 1: writing about, reporting on. How do you see the top
- 8:42Speaker 1: of this draft board really shaken out as it pertains
- 8:44Speaker 1: to the quarterback position?
- 8:47Speaker 3: Right now?
- 8:47Speaker 2: I see cam Ward going number one.
- 8:50Speaker 1: Yeah, it may calling him York? Was I just calling
- 8:53Speaker 1: him York for some reason? I have been loved. I
- 8:56Speaker 1: have been loving cam Ward and calling him cam York.
- 8:59Speaker 1: For God's folks, I know I'm gonna I'm gonna be
- 9:01Speaker 1: getting some correspondence because I'm screwing up names constantly on
- 9:05Speaker 1: the show. For God's sake. Oh my gosh, here let
- 9:08Speaker 1: me do this. I just slapped myself in the face.
- 9:10Speaker 3: Folks.
- 9:11Speaker 1: There you go.
- 9:11Speaker 3: It's that time.
- 9:12Speaker 2: It's that time of the year where like we're just
- 9:14Speaker 2: trying to we're just trying to fight through the super Bowl. Exactly,
- 9:17Speaker 2: turn off off it.
- 9:20Speaker 1: Gosh, I'm so sorry to interrupt.
- 9:21Speaker 2: You go ahead in no ways, but I would I
- 9:25Speaker 2: would be surprised if camboard did not go one. Uh.
- 9:29Speaker 2: I know that the Titans general manager Mike Burgunsei, who
- 9:32Speaker 2: came over from the Chiefs, he said, we may go
- 9:34Speaker 2: the best player available. I don't buy that way. Do
- 9:36Speaker 2: you leave the well run organization like the Chiefs. Do
- 9:40Speaker 2: they have the number one pick for the Titans and
- 9:42Speaker 2: then not take a quarterback because like the Titans need
- 9:46Speaker 2: something absolutely horrible ownership. They need some sort of an
- 9:49Speaker 2: identity there. Uh my, My colleague Cody Williams did write
- 9:53Speaker 2: a mock draft day for fanside dot com, having the
- 9:55Speaker 2: Giants potentially trade up to three, trade up from three
- 9:58Speaker 2: to one with the Titans. The t would take Abdul
- 10:01Speaker 2: Carter out of Penn State at three, and then he
- 10:03Speaker 2: had Shureg Sanders going two to the Browns. I am
- 10:06Speaker 2: much much higher on shod Or Standers than Camboyd. I
- 10:09Speaker 2: think Camboard's kind of got flags for me. Yeah, some
- 10:12Speaker 2: of his comments, some of the stuff that he does.
- 10:14Speaker 2: I'm just like, sure Sanders, yes he's the son of
- 10:16Speaker 2: Deon Sanders, but there's a certain polish to him, like
- 10:18Speaker 2: I'm not seeing the dumb stuff. Shureth Sanders is like, yeah,
- 10:22Speaker 2: maybe maybe let's not go to this organization, let's go
- 10:25Speaker 2: to another one. But I want to see shore Standers
- 10:28Speaker 2: go to the Raiders. I think that that fits a lot.
- 10:30Speaker 2: Pete Carroll will be good, respect Brady. We'll see what
- 10:33Speaker 2: happens playing Chip Kelly's system. He kind of reminds me
- 10:35Speaker 2: of Gino Smith, like the good Geno Smith, which I
- 10:38Speaker 2: think would be really good.
- 10:41Speaker 3: Ward.
- 10:42Speaker 2: I don't know, I try, I've been Maybe he's like
- 10:44Speaker 2: a lesser version of like Deshaun Watson coming out of Clemson,
- 10:48Speaker 2: like the Joe, the Deshaun Watson, Joe Burrow Tony rimo
- 10:50Speaker 2: type of player. Could do a lot of things, but
- 10:52Speaker 2: I feel like where he goes is very dependent. And
- 10:55Speaker 2: then uh, Jackson Dart, who I think may go to
- 10:58Speaker 2: someone like the Steelers, but then they may either either
- 11:02Speaker 2: Hammer or Justin Fields go there, or you know, Jackson
- 11:04Speaker 2: Dart maybe go to the Rams. Yeah, maybe the Raiders
- 11:07Speaker 2: in the second round. He kind of reminds me of
- 11:09Speaker 2: like Baker Mayfield.
- 11:10Speaker 3: A little bit.
- 11:10Speaker 2: Yep, so pretty high on them. And then probably after
- 11:13Speaker 2: that you're looking at Quinn. You was out of Texas,
- 11:15Speaker 2: Jalen Miller out of Alabama Viewers. Unfortunately that's next. Dan
- 11:19Speaker 2: Bradford and he's brittle as hell.
- 11:21Speaker 1: I'm not a yourers fan at all, to be honest
- 11:23Speaker 1: with you, Like I even if he gets the right
- 11:25Speaker 1: type of quarterback, coach or even head coach, offensive coordinator,
- 11:28Speaker 1: what have you. We talk on this podcast a lot
- 11:30Speaker 1: about relationships and how those relationships behind the scenes are
- 11:34Speaker 1: so important for a quarterback to be able to do
- 11:36Speaker 1: what they need to do on the field. Even if
- 11:38Speaker 1: he does have a great relationship viewers, I just don't
- 11:41Speaker 1: think he is a great NFL caliber quarterback.
- 11:44Speaker 2: No. I think if he goes somewhere like the Rams
- 11:46Speaker 2: where it's McVeigh, you're kind of going from like, okay,
- 11:49Speaker 2: a plus with Sark to a plus with McVeigh.
- 11:51Speaker 3: Maybe it'll work.
- 11:52Speaker 2: But like there's other situations out there where, like put
- 11:55Speaker 2: him on the Saints. Even though I like Doug Nussmeyer,
- 11:59Speaker 2: they're gonna get Garrett next year.
- 12:02Speaker 1: Right, absolutely right? Well, moving along with the conversation here, uh,
- 12:08Speaker 1: this year, the tight end position is really talented in
- 12:12Speaker 1: this draft. I mean we've got you know, We've got
- 12:14Speaker 1: Penn States, Tyler Warren, Michigan's Colson Loveland. There are probably
- 12:19Speaker 1: the two top tight ends that are gonna be off
- 12:20Speaker 1: the board this coming April in the draft, this kind
- 12:24Speaker 1: of first round potential and overall tight end depth, John,
- 12:28Speaker 1: it doesn't happen too often in NFL drafts as we know.
- 12:31Speaker 1: So do you see certain teams really clamoring for tight
- 12:35Speaker 1: ends in this upcoming draft because there are more than
- 12:38Speaker 1: a few of them? What are your thoughts here?
- 12:40Speaker 2: Well, I think Titan one is your guy, Tyler Tyler.
- 12:44Speaker 3: Warren, are you related to it?
- 12:47Speaker 1: I wish I was. Sorry taking a drink there, I
- 12:49Speaker 1: wish I was, but I am not.
- 12:51Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm not.
- 12:52Speaker 2: I'm not related to Walker ber either, Okay exactly. I
- 12:57Speaker 2: think maybe Warren could go as high as like the
- 12:59Speaker 2: Saints at at nine them like a Jimmy Graham type
- 13:02Speaker 2: of player.
- 13:03Speaker 3: Yep, the Cowboys could be a good fit for them.
- 13:05Speaker 3: At twelve, they break my heart.
- 13:07Speaker 1: I am so tired of Penn State players going to
- 13:10Speaker 1: the Cowboys ever since Sean Lee. It has broken my heart.
- 13:13Speaker 1: We got Michael Parsons. I can't deal with it. If
- 13:16Speaker 1: it's Tyler Warren maybe jumping off the Ben Franklin Bridge
- 13:20Speaker 1: in Philly. If you if you hear a guy doing
- 13:22Speaker 1: that the night of the draft, that's me, Joe.
- 13:24Speaker 2: That's I've also seen a theory out there that maybe
- 13:28Speaker 2: he replaces Kyle Pitts in Atlanta because Pitts is kind
- 13:30Speaker 2: of more of like a not an eleven personnel sort
- 13:33Speaker 2: of things, So maybe he goes somewhere like you trade
- 13:35Speaker 2: him the Chargers, maybe a draft Warren there Again, I
- 13:38Speaker 2: think Atlanta's gonna go all defense in.
- 13:40Speaker 3: This in this draft with their five picks, not a lot,
- 13:43Speaker 3: but I would say Warren and then Lovely a little.
- 13:46Speaker 2: Bit later, you're looking kind of down in the range
- 13:48Speaker 2: with like the Broncos and Chargers, like they got to
- 13:51Speaker 2: get boaticks and weapons and they got to see if
- 13:53Speaker 2: Justin Herbert's the dude, I'm so tired of this. It's like,
- 13:56Speaker 2: are you gonna make it happen? Like Jim Harbaugh is here, like,
- 13:59Speaker 2: go out there, try to beat the Chiefs. They're vulnerable,
- 14:02Speaker 2: and we saw the Eagles kick their tail in the
- 14:04Speaker 2: Super Bowl, Like, go out there.
- 14:06Speaker 3: Get it.
- 14:06Speaker 2: You've gotta have more guys than just Lad McConkey y.
- 14:09Speaker 2: But I kind of feel like that part of the
- 14:11Speaker 2: draft twenty three through twenty five, somewhere in that range
- 14:15Speaker 2: you could be looking at Warren coming off the board,
- 14:17Speaker 2: maybe Loveland if Warren goes higher.
- 14:19Speaker 1: All right, very good again, folks. Talking to John Bueller
- 14:22Speaker 1: from fan Sided does great, great work, a lot of NFL,
- 14:27Speaker 1: a lot of NFL content that they're forced putting up
- 14:29Speaker 1: over at fans Sided, not just NFL content, but you know,
- 14:33Speaker 1: we love our fan Sided sites out there. John, Where
- 14:35Speaker 1: can folks find you on? You know, the Twitters other
- 14:38Speaker 1: social media sites that you may be on, so we
- 14:40Speaker 1: can hopefully get you a few more follows here and there.
- 14:43Speaker 2: Yeah, you can follow me on Twitter or the X
- 14:45Speaker 2: at Bueller one eighteen. All of my written work is
- 14:49Speaker 2: on fansidea dot com. I mostly cover college football in
- 14:53Speaker 2: the NFL from a national scope. I also write a
- 14:55Speaker 2: lot about the Atlanta Braves. I have a twice weekly
- 14:59Speaker 2: college foot podcasts I do with my boss and colleague,
- 15:03Speaker 2: Cody Williams called Fall Start. It's loosely tied to Fan Sided.
- 15:06Speaker 2: We basically just it's just dumb, but we we walk up.
- 15:10Speaker 1: That's what we've been doing here for almost twelve years, buddy,
- 15:13Speaker 1: all dumb stuff.
- 15:15Speaker 2: And I also got a weekly Atlanta Falcons podcast like
- 15:19Speaker 2: through blogging Dirty the Falcons Sisher fan sided do that
- 15:23Speaker 2: about once a week, usually on a Wednesday. It's a
- 15:26Speaker 2: little bit more, a little more tame. I'm mostly talking
- 15:28Speaker 2: to myself trying to cover the NFL from a national
- 15:31Speaker 2: scope field inso a tortured Falcons fan. It's off the
- 15:35Speaker 2: rails too.
- 15:36Speaker 1: Sounds good, sounds good.
- 15:37Speaker 3: Well.
- 15:37Speaker 1: As I mentioned earlier, the interior defensive tackle position, interior
- 15:42Speaker 1: defensive line position is really solid and deep in this
- 15:46Speaker 1: year's draft. I mean, it feels like it's perhaps the
- 15:50Speaker 1: deepest defensive tackle class over the past five years or so,
- 15:54Speaker 1: and that bodes well for teams like the Eagles, who
- 15:58Speaker 1: love to build their team through the trench. As we
- 16:00Speaker 1: talked about the fact that the Falcons are probably gonna
- 16:03Speaker 1: be utilizing and drafting some defensive tackles uh through throughout
- 16:07Speaker 1: this draft as well, what are your thoughts on the
- 16:09Speaker 1: interior defensive tackle position this year? John, And you know how,
- 16:14Speaker 1: you know how it may be a theme for this
- 16:16Speaker 1: year's draft.
- 16:17Speaker 2: I tell you what I I think if I see
- 16:20Speaker 2: a mock draft for Mason Graham's going anywhere but five
- 16:22Speaker 2: to Jacksonville. Yeah, Like it's just it's just not a
- 16:24Speaker 2: good draft, right, That's It's like it's like like number
- 16:27Speaker 2: four is gonna be Travis under to the Patriots. Number
- 16:29Speaker 2: five is going to be Mason Graham to the uh
- 16:32Speaker 2: the Jaguars. But like, yeah, he kind of reminds me
- 16:35Speaker 2: of a little bit of like a Warren Sapp sort
- 16:37Speaker 2: of stuff. There's a lot of really good players out
- 16:39Speaker 2: there on the edge and like just the whole defensive
- 16:41Speaker 2: front seven. It's kind of like you can pick whatever
- 16:44Speaker 2: you want. You've got, like, you know, your true speed
- 16:46Speaker 2: guys like Mike Crane and James Pearce Junior. And you've
- 16:50Speaker 2: got guys, you know, Mason Graant, like a more more
- 16:52Speaker 2: traditional tackle. You've got the Donovan guy. I can't say
- 16:56Speaker 2: his last name out of BC.
- 16:57Speaker 1: I know what you're talking about. I can't say it either.
- 16:59Speaker 1: Christ is messing up cam Ward's name for God's sake.
- 17:02Speaker 2: Yeah, you got a what Nick Scourton out of A
- 17:05Speaker 2: and M. You got Shamar Stewart out of an M.
- 17:07Speaker 2: You got three guys out of Georgia. And it's also
- 17:11Speaker 2: crazy like four guys potentially can go in the first
- 17:13Speaker 2: round in Michigan. They won like eight games last year.
- 17:15Speaker 1: Yeah, it's gonna be really interesting to see what happens
- 17:19Speaker 1: at the detackle position for sure. I'm hoping the Philadelphia
- 17:22Speaker 1: Eagles are gonna be just dipping their dipping their hands
- 17:25Speaker 1: right right in that talent because with Milton Williams likely leaving.
- 17:29Speaker 1: You mentioned Josh Sweat too, and yes he's a pass
- 17:31Speaker 1: rusher defensive end, but uh, you know, it's it's ripe
- 17:35Speaker 1: with talent this year in terms of the defensive tackle position. So, buddy,
- 17:39Speaker 1: before I let you go, wanted to talk about secondary
- 17:42Speaker 1: players in this year's draft, and it's a good year
- 17:46Speaker 1: to need a cornerback or a safety in this year's
- 17:49Speaker 1: draft pretty deep as well. I'm wondering your thoughts on
- 17:53Speaker 1: whether or not we're gonna see some top level secondary
- 17:55Speaker 1: prospects coming off the board early in Day one as well.
- 17:58Speaker 1: What are you thinking here?
- 18:00Speaker 2: I think that that's very much in play as well.
- 18:03Speaker 2: There's such a premium for that. It's a wide receiver
- 18:06Speaker 2: dominant offense because it's a passing centric The first cornerback
- 18:10Speaker 2: off the board is going to be a Travis Hunter.
- 18:12Speaker 2: I know you want to play both ways, Just just
- 18:14Speaker 2: pick one. Just be an yeah, just be the elite
- 18:18Speaker 2: at one as opposed to good it too, like I
- 18:21Speaker 2: understand he's from my neck of the woods and everything
- 18:23Speaker 2: like that and the Atlanta area, but like, just just
- 18:26Speaker 2: go to Patriots and be like exactly, pretty big fan
- 18:31Speaker 2: of Will Johnson in Michigan. I'd love to see him
- 18:33Speaker 2: fall down to Atlanta at fifteen, he may be off
- 18:36Speaker 2: the board somewhere like eight to Carolina. Carolina's gonna get
- 18:39Speaker 2: a really good player at eight. Dan Morgan, former a
- 18:42Speaker 2: live background oft the You and with the Panthers is
- 18:44Speaker 2: just look at his chops watching somebody else above him
- 18:46Speaker 2: do dumb stuff. There's also Today Baron, Texas cornerback is
- 18:51Speaker 2: probably going to go pretty high as well because he's
- 18:55Speaker 2: kind of a name, Like I didn't really hear much
- 18:57Speaker 2: about him at Texas, but that's probably a good thing.
- 19:00Speaker 2: And then I'm a massive fan of Malachi Starks out
- 19:02Speaker 2: of Georgia. Yeah, I think that he made like the
- 19:05Speaker 2: Colts are gonna take one of those two guys because
- 19:06Speaker 2: they've got nobody from the defense at backfield. And you
- 19:10Speaker 2: just just go out there. Listeners the PSD podcast, you're
