- 0:00Speaker 1: Kylan Fugg, what do we need to know today?
- 0:02Speaker 2: So we have got three major tropical storms making headlines
- 0:05Speaker 2: right now. One of them is actually responsible for the
- 0:07Speaker 2: rain we got this weekend. Hurricane Isaiah left four people
- 0:11Speaker 2: dead after hitting Florida and Alabama. It has weakened, but
- 0:14Speaker 2: the damage is extensive. Hurricane Simon is threatening Mexico's Pacific
- 0:19Speaker 2: Coast with dangerous winds and flooding. And then there's Rachel.
- 0:22Speaker 2: which has weakened, but of course still bringing some rain
- 0:24Speaker 2: and flash flooding concerns to the valley and other parts
- 0:27Speaker 2: of Arizona. So definitely a lot of weather happening kind
- 0:30Speaker 2: of all around us. And I'm not really sure how
- 0:33Speaker 2: this is possible, but apparently the milk in your refrigerator
- 0:37Speaker 2: has more government safety regulations than artificial intelligence. That's what
- 0:42Speaker 2: Microsoft's president is saying. His name is Brad Smith. And
- 0:45Speaker 2: he's like, listen, AI companies should have to report serious problems,
- 0:50Speaker 2: data breaches, security issues, even have emergency kill switches if
- 0:54Speaker 2: things go wrong. But right now, that's not the case.
- 0:58Speaker 2: If things go wrong, they can sweep it under the
- 1:00Speaker 2: rug and we'll never know. And the fact that this
- 1:03Speaker 2: is literally the head of Microsoft saying this is pretty
- 1:07Speaker 2: wild to me.
- 1:08Speaker 1: Well, the thing is, too, the milk business has been
- 1:09Speaker 1: around for 200 years. The AI thing is just new.
- 1:13Speaker 2: It's still so new. I'm sure there was a lot.
- 1:15Speaker 1: Of stuff going on behind the scenes when the milk
- 1:17Speaker 1: business first started.
- 1:18Speaker 3: Big milk.
- 1:18Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:20Speaker 2: And then I think about like it's not like it's
- 1:22Speaker 2: not like these people are saying, hey, let's keep this
- 1:26Speaker 2: on the download. They're being like, can somebody please regulate this?
- 1:29Speaker 2: It's my company, but I need some.
- 1:31Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:32Speaker 3: How come it's the people that are developing it are saying, hey,
- 1:35Speaker 3: we're a lot of scary part. That are like that
- 1:39Speaker 3: because isn't like the security breach, right?
- 1:41Speaker 1: Like some people are like.
- 1:42Speaker 3: Typing in like how to like kill my husband and
- 1:45Speaker 3: getting away with murder.
- 1:46Speaker 2: Like what they need to. That should probably have some
- 1:50Speaker 2: sort of regulation.
- 1:51Speaker 1: Yes, exactly.
- 1:53Speaker 2: That's exactly what they're saying. Now, I never thought I
- 1:56Speaker 2: would say this, but Arizona is home to the worst
- 1:59Speaker 2: in something. Unfortunately, out of all the McDonald's in the
- 2:03Speaker 2: entire country, the worst rated one is right here in Arizona.
- 2:08Speaker 1: Guess which one?
- 2:10Speaker 2: I wonder. I venture to say you've never been to
- 2:13Speaker 2: this one, John Jay, just because you live in your bubble.
- 2:15Speaker 2: It's a surprise.
- 2:16Speaker 1: Oh, close.
- 2:17Speaker 2: The one surprise at the end of the list is
- 2:19Speaker 2: getting national attention for all the wrong reasons.
- 2:21Speaker 1: No one knows.
- 2:22Speaker 2: Have you been to that McDonald's, Noah?
- 2:25Speaker 4: My younger cousin actually worked at this McDonald's for three months.
- 2:29Speaker 4: It is an absolute... poop fest over there. That McDonald's
- 2:35Speaker 4: is seriously the worst McDonald's in the country. And I've
- 2:38Speaker 4: seen the news articles on social media and people go
- 2:40Speaker 4: to the comments, clearly you haven't been to my McDonald's
- 2:43Speaker 4: or whatever already. People like to... put their location on
- 2:47Speaker 4: the throne.
- 2:47Speaker 3: Don't they have to, like, adhere to a certain level
- 2:50Speaker 3: of awesome to be at McDonald's?
- 2:52Speaker 1: That's what they're doing.
- 2:52Speaker 2: What's the problem in the story? In the article, it
- 2:54Speaker 2: just says, out of the average ratings of all of them,
- 2:57Speaker 2: they average a one star. Oh, my gosh. I would
- 3:00Speaker 2: not want to be in that meeting the next morning
- 3:03Speaker 2: after that article came out. I'm guessing some people are
- 3:05Speaker 2: going to get fired. I don't know. On a happier note,
- 3:08Speaker 2: apparently the secret to a happier home may be getting
- 3:11Speaker 2: rid of all the beige and white we've all been
- 3:14Speaker 2: obsessed with. Gen Z and millennials are embracing something they're
- 3:17Speaker 2: calling dopamine decor, which is filling your home with bright colors,
- 3:23Speaker 2: fun patterns, even furniture inspired by gummy bears. Pinterest says
- 3:27Speaker 2: searches for that gummy bear look are up like a
- 3:29Speaker 2: bajillion percent. Designers are saying all the playful decor can
- 3:32Speaker 2: help make your home feel happier and more comforting when
- 3:35Speaker 2: life gets stressful. I want to end on this one,
- 3:38Speaker 2: and this is so heartwarming. So there was this dad
- 3:43Speaker 2: in Phoenix who got scammed out of his entire DoorDash
- 3:46Speaker 2: paycheck right before his little girl's second birthday. He was
- 3:49Speaker 2: absolutely devastated because now he couldn't afford to buy her
- 3:51Speaker 2: anything for her birthday. Two Phoenix police officers responded to
- 3:54Speaker 2: his call. They listened to everything that happened. They, you know,
- 3:57Speaker 2: obviously put in... to investigate what went down. But then
- 4:01Speaker 2: also on their own time, they decided to go shopping
- 4:03Speaker 2: with their own money, bought this little girl clothes, toys,
- 4:06Speaker 2: even a pink bicycle with tassels. And then we showed
- 4:08Speaker 2: up at the family's house with all the gifts. The
- 4:10Speaker 2: dad like started crying and this is just this beautiful moment.
- 4:13Speaker 2: It was all captured on police body cam, but I
- 4:15Speaker 2: love hearing great stories like that. Kind of just like,
- 4:17Speaker 2: I don't know, just like restores your faith in humanity
- 4:20Speaker 2: a little bit. So a great job to those officers.
- 4:23Speaker 2: And that's what you need to know.
- 4:24Speaker 1: No, you have more to add to the McDonald's story.
- 4:26Speaker 1: The one that your cousin worked at.
- 4:29Speaker 4: I was going to say, when I worked at Subway,
- 4:32Speaker 4: we were taught that on Google reviews for major chains,
- 4:36Speaker 4: because there's so many reviews that come in day in,
- 4:38Speaker 4: day out, the lowest you'll usually see is like a
- 4:42Speaker 4: three star, even if things are really, really bad. So
- 4:44Speaker 4: for a big chain to have a one star at
- 4:46Speaker 4: a certain location is like really crazy. If it's a
- 4:49Speaker 4: mom and pop shop and it has a one star,
- 4:51Speaker 4: you'll go and you'll have a great experience. It's like,
- 4:53Speaker 4: I don't know why this place is a one star,
- 4:54Speaker 4: but if a fast food place has a one star, it.
- 4:57Speaker 1: Has to be.
- 4:58Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:58Speaker 1: But there's also, it's also McDonald's. So it's like, I
- 5:00Speaker 1: bet you a one-star McDonald's. I mean, it's like the
- 5:03Speaker 1: largest restaurant chain in the world. Like, What's so bad
- 5:08Speaker 1: about it?
- 5:08Speaker 2: Well, it's probably this. It's probably when you show up
- 5:11Speaker 2: to McDonald's, you expect the cheeseburger to be the same.
- 5:14Speaker 1: That's true.
- 5:14Speaker 2: You expect the fries to taste like McDonald's fries. You
- 5:16Speaker 2: expect the service to at least be there. And it's
- 5:19Speaker 2: like people are consistently waiting and getting upset and the
- 5:21Speaker 2: food's not right. So it's like you.
- 5:24Speaker 3: Kind of got to get that out of control, you know?
- 5:25Speaker 4: I love McDonald's.
- 5:26Speaker 2: You're expecting something and you don't get it.
- 5:28Speaker 1: Or somebody got burned there and they just made it
- 5:30Speaker 1: their mission to trash that one McDonald's on Google reviews.
- 5:33Speaker 2: It takes a lot of people to do that.
- 5:35Speaker 1: Because I love McDonald's. I truly do. I agree right now.
- 5:39Speaker 4: I do, too.
- 5:41Speaker 2: It takes some hash browns, right?
- 5:42Speaker 3: Have you seen the commercial for Burger King where they
- 5:44Speaker 3: start off the commercial? You told us our chicken nuggets
- 5:46Speaker 3: were no good. So we went back and made them better.
- 5:49Speaker 3: That's kind of an honest approach.
- 5:51Speaker 1: I like it, though.
- 5:51Speaker 2: I like it when companies, like, they listen and they say, hey,
- 5:54Speaker 2: we messed up here. Let's make it right.
- 5:57Speaker 3: That's the way to do it.
