- 0:00Speaker 1: The following program is produced by the tech Talk Radio Network.
- 0:03Speaker 1: This is Alice Cooper, the original Technoe Todd, and you're
- 0:06Speaker 1: listening to tech Talk Radio. Welcome to another episode of
- 0:11Speaker 1: tech Talk Radio.
- 0:12Speaker 2: I'm a d Taylor, I'm Sean de Weird, I'm Matt Jones,
- 0:16Speaker 2: and I'm justin Lemme.
- 0:17Speaker 1: Last week on the show, we kind of left on
- 0:20Speaker 1: a cliffhanger, and the cliffhanger was all about uh Dji
- 0:26Speaker 1: and you know, Sean has kind of been our DGI guy,
- 0:28Speaker 1: and you know, DJI has still been in the news
- 0:31Speaker 1: and there was word that, you know, you wouldn't be
- 0:33Speaker 1: able to buy certain DJI products.
- 0:35Speaker 2: Before we go to that, though, I just want to say, Sean,
- 0:37Speaker 2: I am so very very sorry.
- 0:41Speaker 1: What what happened? What happened Notre Dame, Notre Dames.
- 0:45Speaker 2: Ah. You know, as of last show, Notre Dame was
- 0:50Speaker 2: about to go and play for the national championship and
- 0:53Speaker 2: it was just this crazy because they were just getting
- 0:55Speaker 2: stomped on it. And I'm texting Sean and I'm like, Sean,
- 0:59Speaker 2: is there's like a but you can press to like
- 1:01Speaker 2: make Notre Dame wake up or something, because this is
- 1:04Speaker 2: just really.
- 1:05Speaker 1: Not Oh that's so good. Sorry about that.
- 1:07Speaker 3: Yeah, they kind of had a rough end of the
- 1:10Speaker 3: first and second quarter and then a really bad beginning
- 1:13Speaker 3: of the second half, and then the second half was better,
- 1:16Speaker 3: but they just didn't get there.
- 1:18Speaker 4: It was too far gone.
- 1:19Speaker 5: Oh man, Sean, I will say that.
- 1:21Speaker 4: I feel your pain.
- 1:23Speaker 2: I was rooting so hard for Washington and then Washington,
- 1:27Speaker 2: which can run like eighteen little plays, versus a team
- 1:31Speaker 2: that has Sei Kwon barklay. He's talk well professional now,
- 1:34Speaker 2: but yes, yeah, but that was that was all they needed.
- 1:38Speaker 2: They didn't need anything else. They just needed one dude,
- 1:40Speaker 2: and Curb stomped Washington.
- 1:43Speaker 1: Will you guys be watching the Super Bowl? No, no, no.
- 1:47Speaker 4: I have to.
- 1:48Speaker 3: I will. I will watch it because it's on and
- 1:50Speaker 3: I like commercials, But other than that, it's just going
- 1:53Speaker 3: to be on in the background.
- 1:54Speaker 1: You know. It's funny because if you think about it,
- 1:55Speaker 1: in the last few years, whenever they were talking about
- 1:57Speaker 1: a commercial, we would usually see that from before the game.
- 2:01Speaker 1: They you know, they would run and they've been pretty
- 2:03Speaker 1: quiet this year when it comes to what commercials we're
- 2:06Speaker 1: gonna be seeing during the game.
- 2:07Speaker 2: I've been seeing a lot of teaserst like the Dorrito's
- 2:10Speaker 2: one where they're like interviewing players from the Chiefs and
- 2:14Speaker 2: they're like, oh, which which commercial did you like the best?
- 2:17Speaker 2: And they're like, well, like that one and they're like,
- 2:18Speaker 2: stay tuned for the Doritos super Bowl commercial. And you know,
- 2:22Speaker 2: that's just one example. But I've been seeing a lot
- 2:23Speaker 2: of these teaser commercials.
- 2:26Speaker 1: Right, Well, do you do you have a favorite over
- 2:28Speaker 1: the years, a commercial that stands out? I mean there's
- 2:31Speaker 1: been some good ones. My favorite. Budweiser's were always like
- 2:35Speaker 1: one of the ones that I thought were pretty good.
- 2:39Speaker 2: I mean I really like the Dilly Dilly, you know,
- 2:41Speaker 2: the Budweiser medieval ones, but.
- 2:43Speaker 3: Bud like, yeah, yeah, I don't know, man.
- 2:46Speaker 2: I mean the Dorito's always is a good one. I
- 2:49Speaker 2: mean they they put a lot of money into it
- 2:50Speaker 2: every year. I really enjoy those. I really can't say
- 2:54Speaker 2: of a particular one, but yeah, it's gotta be.
- 2:57Speaker 4: I I did care.
- 2:58Speaker 3: I did like the e Trade baby once.
- 3:00Speaker 1: For a while, yeah, right, once, Yes, those are always good.
- 3:04Speaker 1: The Breaking Bad ones from a couple of years ago,
- 3:06Speaker 1: those were pretty good if you remember those, and that
- 3:09Speaker 1: was wasn't that Dorito's. If I'm not mistaken, the raise.
- 3:13Speaker 4: I want to say, maybe.
- 3:14Speaker 1: It's Laise Yeah or Pops Pops the yeah, the pop
- 3:19Speaker 1: they they the chips and you had everybody at them.
- 3:22Speaker 1: It was it was a lot of fun.
- 3:23Speaker 2: But anyway, going going back to what you were talking about,
- 3:25Speaker 2: I'm sorry, we gotta have a tangent there, but Sean, Yeah,
- 3:29Speaker 2: what uh Andy talking about the dj I stuff?
- 3:31Speaker 1: Yeah? You you were you were teasing about this drone?
- 3:34Speaker 1: Uh what is the latest legislation that you know of
- 3:38Speaker 1: that you could tell us when it comes to dj.
- 3:39Speaker 3: I, it's it's all buried under all the executive orders
- 3:43Speaker 3: that have been signed. So I have no idea. It
- 3:46Speaker 3: was supposed to be talked about before President Trump took office,
- 3:50Speaker 3: but now it's being held back. Nobody really knows. It's
- 3:54Speaker 3: probably gonna get wrapped up in some sort of tariff
- 3:57Speaker 3: that he's gonna sign in. Who knows, But for now,
- 4:01Speaker 3: like we've been talking about it, probably for the past
- 4:03Speaker 3: six months, right, I think in the last six months,
- 4:06Speaker 3: DJI has released at least four different flavors of drones. Right.
- 4:11Speaker 3: A couple of them have been iterations of the Mavic
- 4:14Speaker 3: Pro the Mavic Air, but this one is a new version.
- 4:18Speaker 3: This is a new one that they have. This is
- 4:19Speaker 3: a brand new line of DJA drones called the DGI Flip.
- 4:24Speaker 3: If you remember the DGI Spark, which was probably twenty
- 4:30Speaker 3: fifteen twenty sixteen, it was really really tiny. Oh yeah,
- 4:33Speaker 3: the it had the rounded propeller blades on, it had
- 4:37Speaker 3: a really short flight time, had single single single camera,
- 4:40Speaker 3: no gimbal. So this is a parent version of that.
- 4:45Speaker 3: That's what kind of my take on it is the
- 4:46Speaker 3: Spark with a little bit of an upgrade called the
- 4:50Speaker 3: DGI Flip, starts at four hundred and thirty nine bucks.
- 4:54Speaker 3: It's foldable, so when you store it up, the blades
- 4:57Speaker 3: actually fold down flat, so it actually has a flat profile,
- 5:01Speaker 3: so it could like fit like in a laptop bag, like.
- 5:03Speaker 1: In like, oh nice, slitch your laptop in.
- 5:06Speaker 3: It could slide in like a laptop almost into a bag.
- 5:09Speaker 3: So that's kind of the the benefit of this one
- 5:12Speaker 3: is that it's super collapsible, but it's got your you know,
- 5:16Speaker 3: similar flight times, thirty forty minute flight times, it's got
- 5:20Speaker 3: all of your similar resolutions and camera pixels and all
- 5:25Speaker 3: that stuff. So there's not much different in terms of
- 5:27Speaker 3: the technology. It's just the form factor and for four
- 5:31Speaker 3: hundred and thirty night Bucks.
- 5:33Speaker 1: Yeah, you get it with.
- 5:35Speaker 3: Just the controller and the drone, you use your phone
- 5:37Speaker 3: as the screen, or you can get it with the
- 5:40Speaker 3: RC two, which is six hundred and thirty night Bucks
- 5:43Speaker 3: that comes with the remote with the screen on it
- 5:45Speaker 3: so you don't have to use your phone.
- 5:48Speaker 1: Is that would this be a good Would this be
- 5:50Speaker 1: a good one for somebody who's never flown a drone
- 5:52Speaker 1: that wants to play a drone to get.
- 5:55Speaker 3: I will I will. I will say that any of
- 5:57Speaker 3: the DJI models that are reasonably priced are good for
- 6:01Speaker 3: beginners that did. The DJI system is so good at
- 6:06Speaker 3: flying itself that when you're up in the air, you
- 6:11Speaker 3: can just let go of the controls and it kind
- 6:12Speaker 3: of just hovers that right. You could obviously manipulate that
- 6:16Speaker 3: and get into some trouble if you're flying recklessly. But
- 6:19Speaker 3: if you're being patient and you're being smart and you're
- 6:22Speaker 3: flying safe, you're gonna have no issues flying these dj
- 6:24Speaker 3: A drones.
- 6:25Speaker 1: And that price, that's a good price. I remember when
- 6:28Speaker 1: you know, let's go back about five six years, maybe
- 6:31Speaker 1: even a little longer. If you wanted to get a
- 6:33Speaker 1: drone and you wanted to spend five hundred dollars on
- 6:36Speaker 1: a drone, you would get twelve minutes maybe ten minutes
- 6:39Speaker 1: flight time. I mean they were it was pretty bad
- 6:41Speaker 1: back then.
- 6:43Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean I look back to when I bought
- 6:45Speaker 3: my first drone, which would have been which was mid
- 6:47Speaker 3: late twenty thirteen, right, I paid sixteen hundred dollars for mine,
- 6:52Speaker 3: and I got twenty minutes maybe twenty minutes on a battery.
- 6:56Speaker 1: Isn't that justin? I think he ended up getting the
- 7:00Speaker 1: Phantom four as well, But didn't I think he crashed it,
- 7:03Speaker 1: didn't he?
- 7:04Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 7:05Speaker 2: No, I I had the fact honestly, you know, before I,
- 7:09Speaker 2: before I went and bought a DJ, Sean was the
- 7:11Speaker 2: first person I ever I talked to about it, because
- 7:14Speaker 2: I was I was in the market for a Phantom four,
- 7:17Speaker 2: which was the one that obviously really didn't fold down
- 7:21Speaker 2: and it required a backpack size case to hold it
- 7:24Speaker 2: and carry it. But I remember talking to Sean going, Hey,
- 7:27Speaker 2: you know, I'm about to spend this kind of money.
- 7:29Speaker 2: Is is this actually something I can fly?
- 7:32Speaker 4: Like?
- 7:32Speaker 2: I'm concerned that I might be biting off more than
- 7:35Speaker 2: I can chew and and Sean I remember texting me
- 7:38Speaker 2: back and was like, dude, these things literally fly themselves like,
- 7:43Speaker 2: they will hover, they will return to home. They are
- 7:46Speaker 2: the smoothest, easiest thing to control. And so I was like,
- 7:49Speaker 2: all right, well, I guess I'll try it.
- 7:51Speaker 4: And sure enough.
- 7:52Speaker 2: I mean it was great, but the Phantom four, it
- 7:55Speaker 2: was a great drone. It's just that it was so bulky, yeah,
- 7:59Speaker 2: and the flight time wasn't the greatest. So I ended
- 8:02Speaker 2: up I ended up selling it on eBay to some
- 8:05Speaker 2: guy in Indiana somewhere, not Sean, and then eventually, you know,
- 8:12Speaker 2: down the line, I ended up buying myself. I think
- 8:14Speaker 2: it was a Mini three.
- 8:15Speaker 1: Right right there. I mean, they are a lot of fun.
- 8:20Speaker 1: Now under a certain weight limit, you don't have to
- 8:22Speaker 1: get a license. If somebody is thinking about fifty.
- 8:25Speaker 3: Grams or something like that, it's half a pound, I
- 8:29Speaker 3: believe so. And this one does make note of that.
- 8:32Speaker 3: It's under the two hundred and fifty gram mark two
- 8:35Speaker 3: hundred and forty nine. So they're really fine tuning these
- 8:39Speaker 3: and reducing as much weight as possible to stay below
- 8:42Speaker 3: that limit, to have them registered with the FAA and
- 8:45Speaker 3: things like that. Now, who knows what the new whatever
- 8:51Speaker 3: the fa comes out of all these executive orders and stuff. Right,
- 8:55Speaker 3: who knows what the drone legislation is going to look like.
- 8:57Speaker 3: You know, if you were paying attention, Trump was already
- 9:01Speaker 3: asking his security advisors, like he wants to know about
- 9:04Speaker 3: all this drone stuff and he wants it public. So
- 9:06Speaker 3: we're gonna hope we'll see what comes of that. Right,
- 9:09Speaker 3: So who knows what comes for private drawne operators in
- 9:14Speaker 3: the drum business. It's to be determined. But I think
- 9:18Speaker 3: dj I is just is is doing a good job
- 9:20Speaker 3: of keeping pressure on the market and releasing content where
- 9:25Speaker 3: maybe others aren't being as bullish, and you know, if
- 9:28Speaker 3: their name stays out there the most whenever something turns
- 9:32Speaker 3: around and you can get back into the market. I
- 9:33Speaker 3: mean outside of dj I, can any of you name another.
- 9:38Speaker 1: Competitor, uh not sharper image right right right, they're out there.
- 9:50Speaker 2: Whatever the Ukrainians are using, I don't know comes with
- 9:55Speaker 2: extra licenses and some it tar stuff with import export
- 9:58Speaker 2: another top secret.
- 10:01Speaker 1: Yeah. I was in best Buy and they had they
- 10:03Speaker 1: had a few other ones that were available other than
- 10:07Speaker 1: the DJI. They had taken down the DJI display and
- 10:10Speaker 1: then when I asked about it, they just said, oh no, no,
- 10:14Speaker 1: we're just you know, we still have drones and we're
- 10:16Speaker 1: still going to have carry the new ones when they
- 10:18Speaker 1: come in. And then that was about it. But they
- 10:20Speaker 1: had some others that were on display, and I can't
- 10:23Speaker 1: remember the gosh the name of the manufacturer, but they
- 10:25Speaker 1: were inexpensive. But just something told me they just didn't
- 10:27Speaker 1: have that startiness that you're gonna find with Dji's drones.
- 10:32Speaker 3: No, it's just it's if you go to any amateur
- 10:37Speaker 3: professional photographer, they want consistent, reliable flight time with quality imagery.
- 10:44Speaker 3: And that's the only company that I know of that
- 10:47Speaker 3: it can produce that is Dji. I mean, you have
- 10:52Speaker 3: Skydio is another one that makes it reasonable.
- 10:55Speaker 4: Well.
- 10:56Speaker 3: Parrot, if you remember, Parent was actually probably one of
- 10:59Speaker 3: the first ones to make a drone. They made a
- 11:02Speaker 3: styrofoam one that had the wrapped blades that was pretty
- 11:06Speaker 3: pretty widely popular because it fit under that weight limit
- 11:10Speaker 3: and flew with an app on your phone.
- 11:12Speaker 1: Parent had. Parent had that drone that had big wheels
- 11:15Speaker 1: on it and you could roll it and then it
- 11:18Speaker 1: would take off. It's kind of a trip.
- 11:20Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 11:20Speaker 3: Yeah, So, I mean there's some other ones, but like
- 11:23Speaker 3: outside of the consumer and an and prosumer market. You
- 11:28Speaker 3: get you start getting into the agricultural business, and that's
- 11:31Speaker 3: when you start seeing the other, the other, larger, moretancy optimus. So, really,
- 11:38Speaker 3: dj I, if you're not flying a DJI drone, you're
- 11:43Speaker 3: kind of shooting yourself in the foot.
- 11:44Speaker 1: What kind of camera system is on the flip one
- 11:47Speaker 1: at that price, it's probably not going to be four
- 11:50Speaker 1: K or anything like that.
- 11:51Speaker 3: No, it's got it's got. I have the specs up here, right,
- 11:54Speaker 3: it's got the let's see the camera image. It's a
- 11:56Speaker 3: one and one third inch sensor. It can do forty
- 12:00Speaker 3: eight megapixel. It does let's see video resolution. It'll do
- 12:05Speaker 3: four K at twenty four twenty five thirty forty eight
- 12:09Speaker 3: fifty sixty and one hundred frames. Wow, it'll do full
- 12:12Speaker 3: HD Soen nineteen twenty ten eighty at twenty four thirty
- 12:16Speaker 3: forty eight, fifty sixty and one hundred frames. So it
- 12:19Speaker 3: doesn't have any high speed except one hundred one hundred frames.
- 12:22Speaker 3: So it doesn't do one twenty to forty or anything
- 12:24Speaker 3: like that.
- 12:24Speaker 1: Right, that's pretty amazing.
- 12:26Speaker 3: You can shoot, you can shoot log, so if you're
- 12:29Speaker 3: a professional, you can shoot in log. Yeah, it's I mean,
- 12:34Speaker 3: like I said, it's it's not a downgrade from like
- 12:37Speaker 3: the Mavick three, maybe in pixel count on the total
- 12:41Speaker 3: image like sensor size, but this is all way more
- 12:45Speaker 3: than the average Joe is gonna need for TikTok or
- 12:49Speaker 3: YouTube or anything like that. Right, if you're doing it
- 12:53Speaker 3: just for fun and you want to post videos to
- 12:55Speaker 3: your kids or your your trip, like this is gonna
- 12:58Speaker 3: be more than enough.
- 12:59Speaker 1: There's a guy on next store in my community that
- 13:02Speaker 1: I live in that keeps putting putting up drone videos
- 13:05Speaker 1: flying over the neighborhoods of the neighborhoods that people live
- 13:08Speaker 1: in on next door. But it's interesting, you know, Well.
- 13:11Speaker 3: So I will measure he said, he's flying in your neighborhood.
- 13:14Speaker 4: Yeah, I will say.
- 13:16Speaker 3: Please do not violate temporary flight restrictions over wildfires in California.
- 13:22Speaker 1: Oh yeah, like this.
- 13:23Speaker 3: There was these these fires in California. They have all
- 13:28Speaker 3: this aerial firefighting, and a drone got hit by one
- 13:34Speaker 3: of the Canadian whatever Canadian fire a hole in the way.
- 13:40Speaker 1: So would it be the drone hit that or the
- 13:42Speaker 1: plane hit the drone which at that speed out of yeah,
- 13:49Speaker 1: but ground airplane, but it grounded.
- 13:52Speaker 3: All flights in that area for a period of time,
- 13:55Speaker 3: so they lost significant you know, containment on the fire.
- 14:00Speaker 3: All because this one guy was being stupid and he
- 14:03Speaker 3: got caught because he was posting it online. Yet all
- 14:06Speaker 3: these pictures of the area of the fires and stuff like,
- 14:10Speaker 3: and they recovered the pieces of the drone they showed
- 14:13Speaker 3: pictures of if you look, just google it, you'll find it. Right.
- 14:15Speaker 3: They showed them the damage it did and all that
- 14:17Speaker 3: stuff too. So just just don't be stupid. Like, that's
- 14:19Speaker 3: what I tell everybody when I tell them, can I
- 14:22Speaker 3: shoot this video? Can I shoot this? Just don't be stupid.
- 14:25Speaker 3: Common sense goes a long way with flying drones. Don't
- 14:28Speaker 3: be stupid.
- 14:29Speaker 1: Well, yeah, isn't there restrictions to flying over neighborhoods in
- 14:32Speaker 1: some cases where you know, you don't fly over someone's backyard,
- 14:35Speaker 1: you know and see people lounge.
- 14:37Speaker 3: Again, Well, there are expectations of privacy, right, But don't
- 14:40Speaker 3: let people tell you that they own the airspace over
- 14:43Speaker 3: their homes because that is incorrect. You do not own
- 14:46Speaker 3: the air space above your homes. I am legally, legally
- 14:50Speaker 3: available to fly over your home in the airspace above
- 14:53Speaker 3: your home. Now I can't fly over your home and
- 14:56Speaker 3: snoop on you and invade your reasonable ex spectation of privacy.
- 15:01Speaker 3: But if I'm flying above your home, in my above
- 15:04Speaker 3: my home and I happen to see your house.
- 15:07Speaker 1: Totally legal, right right. I don't shoot.
- 15:10Speaker 3: Down my drone because that's also legal.
- 15:12Speaker 1: Yeah, that would not be good to prove that one. Yeah, exactly,
- 15:17Speaker 1: all right, So this sounds like a good deal. Is
- 15:20Speaker 1: this available now? The dj I flip?
- 15:23Speaker 3: I I mean, I just wanted to put one of
- 15:25Speaker 3: my cart and see at a cost it's available right now?
- 15:28Speaker 1: Are you going to get it? No? No, not gonna
- 15:31Speaker 1: get it.
- 15:32Speaker 3: I don't have time or the effort to renew my
- 15:34Speaker 3: license and get back into drones like.
- 15:37Speaker 4: I thought, maybe this doesn't require a license.
- 15:40Speaker 3: Well, if I got one, I would get my license
- 15:42Speaker 3: because then I could fly for work.
- 15:43Speaker 1: Oh oh, there you go.
- 15:46Speaker 3: There are reasons why I would get my license back,
- 15:48Speaker 3: but it I just don't have the time of the
- 15:49Speaker 3: effort to put into another hobby right now. So yeah,
- 15:54Speaker 3: maybe once Max gets old enough and wants to get
- 15:57Speaker 3: into flying my drones or my RC planes and stuff,
- 16:00Speaker 3: maybe I'll get back into or get him one that's reasonably.
- 16:03Speaker 1: Sized okay, all right, all right. We had some good
- 16:06Speaker 1: comments last week from the show when we were talking
- 16:10Speaker 1: about something that apparently touched a lot of people. Uh,
- 16:14Speaker 1: and that was the removal removal of DVD Blu ray
- 16:17Speaker 1: drives out of laptops. And we were talking about, you know,
- 16:20Speaker 1: the reason being is better cooling. Uh, they would use
- 16:23Speaker 1: that space for cooling, better battery. Uh. And the fact
- 16:27Speaker 1: is that a little bit warn't using that kind of media.
- 16:30Speaker 1: Some of the comments were a little angry, Uh, some
- 16:33Speaker 1: of them were, uh, yeah, we had one, we had
- 16:36Speaker 1: one show.
- 16:37Speaker 3: I want to I want to make a comment to
- 16:38Speaker 3: John Dell over here.
- 16:39Speaker 1: Okay, So John, because you had mentioned they needed more
- 16:42Speaker 1: room for graphics cards. I know what you meant.
- 16:46Speaker 3: Right, everybody knows you can get gaming laptops with graphics
- 16:49Speaker 3: cards in them. Right, they still don't fit a DVD drive.
- 16:52Speaker 3: They're big and they're bulky, but they still don't fit
- 16:55Speaker 3: a DVD drive in them. And yes, they make mobile
- 16:58Speaker 3: versions of GPUs take up a PCI Express slot like
- 17:02Speaker 3: get on board. Dude.
- 17:04Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't understand there's no graphics cards that are
- 17:07Speaker 2: in laptops, you know.
- 17:08Speaker 3: I mean, he's he's he's he's thinking that we're talking
- 17:10Speaker 3: about like an HP that's got integrated graphics on the chip.
- 17:14Speaker 2: Well, sure there are those, but they're also dedicated graphics cards.
- 17:18Speaker 2: I mean, I have an Aceus rog Strix ally with
- 17:22Speaker 2: a you know, an I nine processor, but it also
- 17:26Speaker 2: has a thirty seventy TI graphics card in it. And
- 17:30Speaker 2: you're telling me that that's just one single chip solder
- 17:32Speaker 2: to the motherboard. No, no, John Doe, You're wrong.
- 17:35Speaker 1: Yeah, somebody somebody else wrote might as well be a
- 17:40Speaker 1: GPU discrete graphics, but legit GPUs with real power requirements
- 17:44Speaker 1: can take up substantial PCB real estate. And Matt, Matt,
- 17:50Speaker 1: you weren't that happy with that one.
- 17:52Speaker 2: Well, I mean like it kind of went back to
- 17:55Speaker 2: what John Doe wrote of like you know, oh, it's
- 17:57Speaker 2: not in there. It takes up substantial real estate. G
- 18:02Speaker 2: let's look at the size of desktop graphics cards that
- 18:06Speaker 2: can't fit in some cases nowadays. No flying monkey farts
- 18:11Speaker 2: that it takes up space. Yeah, and that's because I
- 18:14Speaker 2: can't say what I'm really thinking.
- 18:15Speaker 4: Yeah, it takes up space. It's a shocker.
- 18:18Speaker 2: Yeah woo, but no, I'm sorry, like sitting there being like, oh,
- 18:22Speaker 2: there are no graphics cards and laptops.
- 18:24Speaker 1: Bro.
- 18:24Speaker 4: Oh, they just take up a lot of space.
- 18:26Speaker 2: Bro, what I need you to do first off is
- 18:29Speaker 2: go outside and touch some grass.
- 18:31Speaker 5: And then do like the most minute bit.
- 18:34Speaker 2: Of research possible because gepus have been in laptops for
- 18:38Speaker 2: over a decade. My laptop in college almost oh my god,
- 18:42Speaker 2: almost twenty years ago. Anyways, that had its own graphics
- 18:47Speaker 2: card twenty years ago. Like, I'm sorry, you've got you've
- 18:50Speaker 2: got four tech professionals telling you this, but you the
- 18:55Speaker 2: couch quarterback of John Doe is like, no, man, you're wrong. Well, John,
- 19:00Speaker 2: you're wrong about us being wrong.
- 19:02Speaker 1: I think what they're doing is they're they're picturing that
- 19:04Speaker 1: old idea of that big graphics card and that you know,
- 19:08Speaker 1: a lid opens up and there you slide it into
- 19:11Speaker 1: a slot. And no they I.
- 19:14Speaker 2: Mean they do have something like that, which is an
- 19:18Speaker 2: external enclosure that you can put those desktop graphics cards
- 19:23Speaker 2: in and then hook that to your laptop and then
- 19:25Speaker 2: hook your display up there and it.
- 19:26Speaker 4: Those do exist.
- 19:27Speaker 1: Yep, we've heard those.
- 19:28Speaker 2: And also they you know, the laptop cards aren't quite
- 19:31Speaker 2: as powerful as the desktop cards. I mean, they're getting
- 19:35Speaker 2: closer to it, but You're never going to get the
- 19:38Speaker 2: performance out of a fifty ninety desktop card and a laptop.
- 19:43Speaker 2: It's just not going to happen. Maybe maybe in twenty
- 19:45Speaker 2: years time it might figure out a way. But I
- 19:48Speaker 2: do seriously have a thirty seventy TI in my laptop
- 19:53Speaker 2: and on my desktop. I have a twenty eighty TI,
- 19:57Speaker 2: a whole generation bef that and my twenty eighty obviously
- 20:02Speaker 2: would not fit in my laptop. But I'll tell you
- 20:05Speaker 2: my laptop with the thirty seventy I can't keep that
- 20:09Speaker 2: thing unplugged. I need to have power on that all
- 20:13Speaker 2: the time. If I try to run a game, a
- 20:16Speaker 2: very graphically demanding game on battery, yeah I got about
- 20:21Speaker 2: a half an hour.
- 20:22Speaker 1: Oh wow, that's it. I like what Nick's said. I said,
- 20:27Speaker 1: I don't want a smaller, thinner laptop. I wanted to
- 20:30Speaker 1: be big and heavy enough to bludgeon someone who with
- 20:33Speaker 1: give me a disk drive, more USB ports and than
- 20:36Speaker 1: anyone cool actually a cool actual use, and a headphone jack.
- 20:41Speaker 1: I mean a lot of people want that.
- 20:43Speaker 2: If yeah, yeah, if I'm swinging my laptop and a coworker,
- 20:48Speaker 2: I don't want them getting back up, Like if I'm
- 20:51Speaker 2: gonna go to HR for it.
- 20:52Speaker 4: I want to go to HR for it.
- 20:55Speaker 1: Or zombies. You'd never know, right, I mean zombie could
- 20:58Speaker 1: be coming in through the window, and I do like that.
- 21:00Speaker 3: We get a little bit further down the comments, we
- 21:02Speaker 3: start getting conspiracy theories about big media.
- 21:05Speaker 1: Oh yeah, big media was doing it.
- 21:07Speaker 3: Media got rid of the DV drives because anybody that's
- 21:09Speaker 3: fancy with the computer knows how to rip DVDs exactly.
- 21:12Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I definitely want to talk about that.
- 21:15Speaker 3: One a handbreak and make MKB Can Mountain.
- 21:19Speaker 2: Or Auto GK Auto Gordian not if you want to
- 21:22Speaker 2: go old school with it. Uh.
- 21:24Speaker 1: Cannon Mountain had the comment though, that I identified with
- 21:28Speaker 1: nobody is wondering this except for my parents.
- 21:34Speaker 3: It's okay, so if you think back, right, I have
- 21:37Speaker 3: vivid memories of my mom buying.
- 21:39Speaker 1: A new CD burner, Oh yeah, man.
- 21:42Speaker 3: And me wondering what the heck the numbers meant on
- 21:45Speaker 3: the box, right, because it was sixteen x three x.
- 21:49Speaker 1: Two x thirty two x Yeah, what all those numbers mean?
- 21:53Speaker 4: And then I what the heck is LightScribe?
- 21:55Speaker 3: Right? So it's like, so my parents, my mom understood
- 22:00Speaker 3: all that, and like that was the beginning of like
- 22:02Speaker 3: my interest in like what that actually means, and then
- 22:05Speaker 3: learning about write and read speeds versus you know, all
- 22:08Speaker 3: that stuff. So it's just kind of a fun memory
- 22:10Speaker 3: for me.
- 22:11Speaker 1: It was was pretty good, So it's good comments again
- 22:14Speaker 1: both sides of it. And I want to thank everybody
- 22:16Speaker 1: for watching the video. And again you could see that
- 22:19Speaker 1: you could find the link on our YouTube page to
- 22:21Speaker 1: be able to check that out. We also had a
- 22:23Speaker 1: comment about Project Zomboid, which was a good one and
- 22:26Speaker 1: I liked it because justin you're you're getting more into
- 22:29Speaker 1: that and t bone Terra said my favorite game of
- 22:32Speaker 1: all time and people are people are liking that and
- 22:35Speaker 1: with that, I don't know if you heard this week
- 22:37Speaker 1: that they're talking about re releasing SIMS one and two
- 22:42Speaker 1: for the PC, so people and I think it's created
- 22:45Speaker 1: so buch excitement and that type of gameplay that now
- 22:48Speaker 1: people are saying, I want.
- 22:49Speaker 4: To play SIMS.
- 22:50Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 22:51Speaker 2: I mean the Project Zomboid is is very SIMS esque.
- 22:54Speaker 2: I mean, if you will, I mean it looks a
- 22:56Speaker 2: lot like the original SIMS with like the kind of
- 22:59Speaker 2: a three quarter view. And we talked about it last week,
- 23:02Speaker 2: and you know, since the last show I mean, I've
- 23:04Speaker 2: been playing it almost every single day, and you know,
- 23:08Speaker 2: I it's it's interesting because when one of my characters
- 23:11Speaker 2: will die, because eventually, again, as I mentioned in the
- 23:14Speaker 2: last show, your character will die. It's just a matter
- 23:16Speaker 2: of when, not if. And my character will will die
- 23:20Speaker 2: to a zombie or or maybe he got scratched by
- 23:23Speaker 2: a bush and bled out. But once you, once your
- 23:28Speaker 2: character dies, you can continue in that persistent map and
- 23:32Speaker 2: then create a new character. So I thought, oh, I'll
- 23:35Speaker 2: just keep doing that. I'll just use a character for
- 23:37Speaker 2: a couple of days, have him run around, gather but
- 23:39Speaker 2: a bunch of loot. I don't care about his health,
- 23:41Speaker 2: I don't care about remember where he started it. Yeah,
- 23:44Speaker 2: and then as soon as that person gathers up all
- 23:46Speaker 2: the loot and puts it back in my quote unquote
- 23:49Speaker 2: safe house man, then I'll kill him off, and then
- 23:51Speaker 2: I'll go create a new character, and then I'll do
- 23:53Speaker 2: the same thing Rinson repeat until I got all the
- 23:55Speaker 2: loot that I.
- 23:56Speaker 4: Need to have. Yeah, but there's there's one thing I
- 23:59Speaker 4: didn't realize.
- 24:00Speaker 1: What's it.
- 24:01Speaker 2: Well, I was playing my latest character, and I was
- 24:04Speaker 2: running around doing my thing right during the evening, and
- 24:08Speaker 2: I was going in through like I think it was
- 24:10Speaker 2: like a video store next to like a strip mall whatever,
- 24:15Speaker 2: and all of a sudden I heard the age old
- 24:17Speaker 2: sound of.
- 24:20Speaker 1: What was it?
- 24:21Speaker 2: And all of a sudden, all the power went out.
- 24:23Speaker 2: Uh oh, And I was like, wait, what what's going on? Sure? No,
- 24:29Speaker 2: I had to go finally look it up because I thought, oh, whatever,
- 24:31Speaker 2: maybe this little building whatever the power went out.
- 24:33Speaker 1: Nope.
- 24:34Speaker 2: After a certain amount of time, the power in the
- 24:36Speaker 2: entire game shuts off, and so does running water. So
- 24:40Speaker 2: now my refrigerator that is and freezer that is stocked
- 24:43Speaker 2: full of fresh food and frozen food is all spoiled
- 24:47Speaker 2: and I have no running water, and so now my
- 24:50Speaker 2: characters are all dying left and right because.
- 24:53Speaker 4: I did not plan for that.
- 24:54Speaker 2: So now I'm just I'm starting a whole new game
- 24:57Speaker 2: all over again. Oh man, because I didn't realize about
- 25:00Speaker 2: after about eight days in game time, right, the power
- 25:03Speaker 2: and the water shut off. And it makes sense because
- 25:06Speaker 2: it's a zombie apocalypse. Who's running the power station and
- 25:09Speaker 2: the and the plumbing, right, And I was like, oh,
- 25:12Speaker 2: they must have just forgot about that and left it
- 25:13Speaker 2: on auto, and it just you know, it'll have power Forever.
- 25:17Speaker 4: Nope, nope.
- 25:18Speaker 1: Oh boy. All right, so it's Project Zomboid, which is
- 25:22Speaker 1: available for you able to play out twenty bucks on Steam.
- 25:25Speaker 1: All right, I gotta take a quick break.
- 25:27Speaker 4: Come back.
- 25:27Speaker 1: We do have some listener questions, and I got a
- 25:31Speaker 1: question for you guys, if you're going to be camping
- 25:33Speaker 1: out for it, I'll tell you about that coming up
- 25:35Speaker 1: with tech talk Radio.
- 25:36Speaker 2: I'm Andy Taylor, I'm shan to Wear, I'm Matt Jones,
- 25:41Speaker 2: and I'm Justin. Let me find us online at tech
- 25:43Speaker 2: talk radio dot com.
- 25:44Speaker 4: We'll be right back.
- 25:45Speaker 1: And now back to tech talk Radio. So I've been
- 25:51Speaker 1: wondering all week when I heard the news if any
- 25:55Speaker 1: of you are going to be camping out for the
- 25:58Speaker 1: big event that is that it has taken place now,
- 26:02Speaker 1: or if you camped out because the brand new graphics
- 26:06Speaker 1: So we were talking about graphics cards earlier. The brand
- 26:09Speaker 1: new ArtX fifty ninety launched this week, the fifty ninety
- 26:15Speaker 1: and the fifty eighty, and they said people are actually
- 26:19Speaker 1: sleeping intent outside Microcenter. You know, they used to be
- 26:23Speaker 1: concert tickets or like Revenge of the Jedi or Return
- 26:26Speaker 1: of the Jedi.
- 26:26Speaker 4: Call of Duty, Call of Duty.
- 26:28Speaker 1: Yeah, now for graphics cards, the thing is, and I
- 26:32Speaker 1: kind of wonder, do you think people are buying these
- 26:34Speaker 1: just to turn around and sell on Some are some
- 26:38Speaker 1: are well, remember back, you know, a couple of years ago,
- 26:41Speaker 1: it was you could buy as many of them online,
- 26:43Speaker 1: like when the PlayStation five got released or the Xbox
- 26:46Speaker 1: Series X. You get all the scalpers that would write scripts,
- 26:50Speaker 1: that would log in and buy every single one that
- 26:54Speaker 1: they could possibly get because there's no limit, and so
- 26:57Speaker 1: now then then and they would turn around and scalp
- 27:00Speaker 1: them on eBay for three times the price. Well, people
- 27:02Speaker 1: started wising up to that, and retailers started wising up
- 27:05Speaker 1: and said, no, you need to buy them in person,
- 27:08Speaker 1: and you're gonna get one or maybe two with the most.
- 27:11Speaker 1: And so now we're going back to those days where
- 27:13Speaker 1: people are camping out waiting for their opportunity to get it,
- 27:16Speaker 1: which is awesome.
- 27:17Speaker 5: I would I.
- 27:19Speaker 3: Called it like four years ago when all this was happening.
- 27:23Speaker 3: I said, you're gonna you're gonna see retailers selling at
- 27:27Speaker 3: the brick and mortar because people are gonna get soaked
- 27:30Speaker 3: about not being able to buy graphics they're just not
- 27:33Speaker 3: gonna buy them.
- 27:34Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, and you're gonna.
- 27:35Speaker 3: Have all this stock sucked up by scalpers. That's just
- 27:38Speaker 3: gonna sit there stagnant and not getting sold, not getting
- 27:41Speaker 3: off the shelf. And nobody wants that.
- 27:43Speaker 4: Right.
- 27:44Speaker 3: Yes, the the the the vendor is making their money,
- 27:47Speaker 3: but then their product's not getting out there. They're gonna
- 27:48Speaker 3: get a bad reputation. It's bad publicity. So now you're
- 27:51Speaker 3: seeing you canmp out for this stuff just like you
- 27:56Speaker 3: used to. Like I think the last thing I camped
- 27:58Speaker 3: out for was I went to a Best Buy at
- 28:01Speaker 3: like three in the morning to get the Super Nintendo Classic.
- 28:06Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I remember that fast.
- 28:08Speaker 2: Have you guys seen the this is uh it's been
- 28:11Speaker 2: about a week or maybe two weeks old right now
- 28:13Speaker 2: at this moment. But if you go to YouTube and
- 28:15Speaker 2: just look up Costco Pokemon, there is an amazing amount
- 28:20Speaker 2: of videos of it. Looks like Black Friday. People are
- 28:24Speaker 2: rushing into Costco and and buying these uh you know,
- 28:28Speaker 2: buy the case of Pokemon cards and and I guess
- 28:32Speaker 2: so there's a new there's yet another edition of Pokemon
- 28:35Speaker 2: coming out. Uh can remember what it's called wrapped the
- 28:37Speaker 2: top of my head. But the thing about Costco is
- 28:40Speaker 2: that they're they're selling them. They mean, they got these,
- 28:42Speaker 2: they got palettes full of them, and people are rushing
- 28:45Speaker 2: in and they're fighting each other over these things. And
- 28:47Speaker 2: so I went to my local Costco and I asked
- 28:49Speaker 2: one of the employees. I said, hey, you all got
- 28:51Speaker 2: that uh Pokemon? Did I miss it? And he's like, oh, no,
- 28:54Speaker 2: we haven't gotten ours in yet. And I said, uh,
- 28:57Speaker 2: have you seen any of these videos of people just
- 28:59Speaker 2: you know, do in these crazy things And he's like no.
- 29:02Speaker 2: And this this was actually the manager of the Costco
- 29:04Speaker 2: that I was at, and he's like, no, I haven't
- 29:06Speaker 2: seen anything. I said, dude, you really need to look
- 29:08Speaker 2: this up because this is really bad publicity for Costco.
- 29:11Speaker 2: I mean, this is this is liability on Costco's part
- 29:14Speaker 2: if somebody gets injured in your store trying to get this,
- 29:18Speaker 2: you know, I said, you know, I was looking at
- 29:20Speaker 2: all these comments on the videos and some of the
- 29:22Speaker 2: costcos are wising up and what they're doing is they're
- 29:24Speaker 2: basically putting the limit that you can buy pre made
- 29:27Speaker 2: in a cart and lining up all the carts and
- 29:29Speaker 2: saying take a cart go, like this is your take
- 29:32Speaker 2: a car go? You know, more rushing no more running
- 29:35Speaker 2: to the back to get the cards. This is what
- 29:37Speaker 2: you can buy, take it and go. But it's the
- 29:39Speaker 2: same ideas people are rushing in. They're not buying them
- 29:42Speaker 2: for themselves. They're buying them so they can open it up,
- 29:45Speaker 2: find the legendary mythical cards, and then go around and
- 29:48Speaker 2: sell them on eBay for ten times the price.
- 29:51Speaker 1: Do you remember during the pandemic it was was it
- 29:53Speaker 1: the thirty ninety that came out, and people were selling
- 29:58Speaker 1: them for four or five times the price and then
- 30:02Speaker 1: you know, now a couple of years later, people that
- 30:04Speaker 1: have them are like, yeah, it's okay.
- 30:09Speaker 4: I think what they did.
- 30:09Speaker 2: They'd also discompared the new fifty ninety that just came out.
- 30:12Speaker 2: They said, the fifty to ninety, a single fifty ninety
- 30:15Speaker 2: overclocked would beat like two or three thirty ninety. Tis
- 30:21Speaker 2: wow an SLI or whatever they call it now now
- 30:24Speaker 2: those SLI it is Anthia does sl I, AMD does crossfire.
- 30:30Speaker 1: Spiking of that am D. I mean, AMD is still
- 30:33Speaker 1: a viable opponent when it comes to video cards. I
- 30:37Speaker 1: mean we get a lot of press with the you
- 30:40Speaker 1: know RTX GTX, but when you look at the you
- 30:43Speaker 1: know what they're doing with the the am D cards,
- 30:48Speaker 1: those are.
- 30:48Speaker 2: Just as good, right I'm I'll chime in on this
- 30:51Speaker 2: one because I'm running an am D card when, as
- 30:55Speaker 2: our listeners know, I rebuilt my whole PC stack a
- 30:59Speaker 2: couple of months ago, so I've got a Radion seventy
- 31:02Speaker 2: nine hundred XT in mind, and you know, I run
- 31:08Speaker 2: Space Marine two on Ultra everything and I'm still getting,
- 31:12Speaker 2: you know, over. I think when I was running it
- 31:15Speaker 2: with my buddy the other day, I was getting over
- 31:16Speaker 2: one hundred and twenty frames a second.
- 31:18Speaker 4: The lot of time I'm playing right, one of the
- 31:20Speaker 4: main reasons.
- 31:21Speaker 2: I was talking to one of my other buddies and
- 31:23Speaker 2: he was talking about how he has to get He's
- 31:25Speaker 2: getting a new Nvidio card and I was like, why
- 31:27Speaker 2: aren't you grabbing an art A radio an ARTIX card
- 31:31Speaker 2: and he was like, well, the reason why is because
- 31:33Speaker 2: the AI stuff that I'm doing at home, I need
- 31:35Speaker 2: the coudacors and that that is where AMD is lagging
- 31:41Speaker 2: behind in video and video is starting to dump all
- 31:45Speaker 2: of their money into AI.
- 31:48Speaker 1: Although it's very interesting with the story that came out
- 31:51Speaker 1: this past week that China is developing their AI and
- 31:54Speaker 1: they're using less resources than what we seem to be using,
- 31:59Speaker 1: and they're seeing that they may have found the niche
- 32:01Speaker 1: right there while all of us are saying, you gotta
- 32:03Speaker 1: have the you know, you gotta have this type of
- 32:05Speaker 1: card and this type of system put together that what
- 32:08Speaker 1: they're doing is much better and runs less. There was
- 32:12Speaker 1: a story that just came out today as of the
- 32:13Speaker 1: recording of this show. You know that it was I
- 32:16Speaker 1: think it's called deep search or deep what is it
- 32:19Speaker 1: called deep deep seek?
- 32:20Speaker 4: Deep seek?
- 32:21Speaker 2: Deep seek is the Chinese AI version they There's a
- 32:25Speaker 2: couple of stories going on around this. First off, Andy,
- 32:27Speaker 2: you're right, Deep Seak came out and said, hey, we
- 32:29Speaker 2: can do this for pennies on the dollar, and that
- 32:33Speaker 2: caused Invidia stock to lose six hundred billion dollars of
- 32:38Speaker 2: worth because of the people freaking out going way, hold on,
- 32:42Speaker 2: we don't need Innvidia to do this, and and then
- 32:46Speaker 2: Vidia stock took a massive hit.
- 32:49Speaker 4: Second, deep what do you call it again? Deep seek?
- 32:53Speaker 2: Deep actually suffered a massive cybersecurity attack today and write
- 33:00Speaker 2: it down. Yeah, so there's a massive cybersecurity deck and
- 33:03Speaker 2: I have a good feeling I know who is behind it.
- 33:06Speaker 1: Well, yeah, we can't say that but still this is
- 33:10Speaker 1: very interesting, especially when they say we can do this
- 33:12Speaker 1: you know, less resources.
- 33:14Speaker 3: So in video put put out a response to that,
- 33:17Speaker 3: right saying, Yo, you guys still use our chips for
- 33:21Speaker 3: your like you're still using our stuff to do your
- 33:24Speaker 3: deep seek so like.
- 33:26Speaker 2: Chill, yeah, but sure, but for a heck of a
- 33:28Speaker 2: lot cheaper than what open ai and other companies are
- 33:31Speaker 2: saying is required to be able to do this. Did
- 33:34Speaker 2: you see there was there was a I saw another
- 33:37Speaker 2: article value, I saw another article come out about this.
- 33:39Speaker 2: That Meta not one of my favorite companies, but Zuckerberg
- 33:45Speaker 2: is He's got war rooms set up with all of
- 33:49Speaker 2: his top engineers being like, figure out why they're able
- 33:53Speaker 2: to do this so much better and faster than us,
- 33:56Speaker 2: like dedicating tons of man hours to just being like
- 33:59Speaker 2: figure it out well.
- 34:01Speaker 1: Open Ai also made some kind of announcement that they're
- 34:04Speaker 1: going to work on kind of a uh it's an
- 34:07Speaker 1: AI that if you are used door dash or if
- 34:10Speaker 1: you use any of the delivery services, you would be
- 34:14Speaker 1: you know, interacting with AI to handle all of that.
- 34:17Speaker 1: And from what I'm hearing, it's not that great. It's
- 34:20Speaker 1: not working out that great. There's been issues and problems,
- 34:24Speaker 1: and I'll be honest with you, and I kind of
- 34:25Speaker 1: wonder if any of you ever had to make a
- 34:28Speaker 1: phone call somewhere to try and get support. It's ridiculous
- 34:32Speaker 1: now what you go through because of the AI. I
- 34:36Speaker 1: liked it even Yeah.
- 34:38Speaker 4: Yeah, I love it.
- 34:40Speaker 2: You pull on McDonald's, You're like, first thing is hi,
- 34:43Speaker 2: we coome McDonald's would be using the app today, and
- 34:45Speaker 2: you're like no, And then all of a sudden it's yeah,
- 34:47Speaker 2: how can I help you?
- 34:49Speaker 4: The uh the.
- 34:51Speaker 2: Two too quick things on that one tying back to
- 34:54Speaker 2: deep seak for a second, they're the other thing about
- 34:57Speaker 2: deep seek is that it's open source and uh open
- 35:02Speaker 2: AI started to make some comments about like, yeah, well
- 35:05Speaker 2: you know they're minding all your data, and they're like, uh,
- 35:07Speaker 2: or I can unlike chat GPT, I can just run
- 35:11Speaker 2: it locally on my own hardware. So there's that and
- 35:16Speaker 2: uh something for our listeners that I love this website
- 35:21Speaker 2: so very much. If you have to make a call
- 35:24Speaker 2: and it goes to AI or a phone tree or something,
- 35:28Speaker 2: go to the website. I think it's uh, dial a
- 35:32Speaker 2: human or talk to a human and you can put
- 35:35Speaker 2: in like the company you're trying to reach and it
- 35:37Speaker 2: will give you the direct steps. Yeah, dial a human,
- 35:40Speaker 2: It'll give you the direct steps for how to get
- 35:42Speaker 2: to a person, even if that's just like the switchboard. Actually, no,
- 35:46Speaker 2: I take that back. It is talk the number two
- 35:49Speaker 2: human dot com. Talk to human dot com now that
- 35:53Speaker 2: talks to human dot com. Now justin you had told
- 35:55Speaker 2: us one before where you can actually find the bosses
- 35:59Speaker 2: and that's more of an mail things called email the
- 36:01Speaker 2: boss email email, and that's still around what Matt saying.
- 36:04Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, uh, that's kind of the same thing.
- 36:07Speaker 2: If you're looking to try to bypass all the the
- 36:09Speaker 2: levels of support and you just want to go straight
- 36:12Speaker 2: to the CEO to complain. Uh yeah, email the boss
- 36:15Speaker 2: dot org is a great place.
- 36:17Speaker 1: And I don't I don't think it's going to get
- 36:18Speaker 1: any better. I mean, I I really don't see it
- 36:21Speaker 1: as more and more companies rely on AI. Uh. I
- 36:25Speaker 1: just I don't think it will get any better. I
- 36:27Speaker 1: worry for the radio industry because there are you know,
- 36:30Speaker 1: radio DJs in a studio where now it won't let them.
- 36:33Speaker 1: It won't let callers talk to the DJ, it'll let
- 36:37Speaker 1: them talk to the AI that has taken the request
- 36:39Speaker 1: they've taken the you know, what do you want to
- 36:41Speaker 1: need to know about? Blah blah blah. That's being being
- 36:45Speaker 1: in radio over thirty years, that's been like one of
- 36:48Speaker 1: the best things about it.
- 36:50Speaker 2: Yeah, it's the connection with the people and and and
- 36:52Speaker 2: and I'm finding that uh less and less. I'm listening
- 36:56Speaker 2: to terrestrial radio. I mean, even with the Spotify the
- 37:00Speaker 2: about two years ago they released the Spotify DJ and
- 37:03Speaker 2: that guy. I mean, it's it's an AI voice, it's
- 37:05Speaker 2: an AI system, but it sounds just like a real person.
- 37:09Speaker 2: It's more like kind of like a top forty hip
- 37:11Speaker 2: hop DJ. The way the person, you know, the AI sounds,
- 37:14Speaker 2: that's the same person the way AI sounds. But I
- 37:17Speaker 2: can totally see that coming to a local radio station
- 37:21Speaker 2: near you. I mean, I do still listen to like
- 37:23Speaker 2: morning show radio because you know, they interact so much
- 37:26Speaker 2: with the audience, But when it comes to like afternoon
- 37:30Speaker 2: drive or anything else, a lot of times maybe it's
- 37:33Speaker 2: still done by a person, but a lot of times
- 37:35Speaker 2: it's tracked. Yeah, there is no DJ even in the
- 37:38Speaker 2: studio now, not in this station, the one we're on.
- 37:41Speaker 2: I come here every afternoon. I'm here, and it is
- 37:44Speaker 2: rare because I've worked in other buildings. I've been in
- 37:47Speaker 2: other buildings while you know, radio has been going on,
- 37:50Speaker 2: and yeah, that seems to be a common practice to track.
- 37:53Speaker 1: I did it for Westwood One. I was on you know,
- 37:56Speaker 1: seventy stations across the country, and it's just it's the
- 37:59Speaker 1: way the way the industry works. They got to make
- 38:02Speaker 1: their money. And there they go.
- 38:04Speaker 2: And you can totally tell when the station is being
- 38:06Speaker 2: tracked because the DJ will start to talk and they'll
- 38:08Speaker 2: have the incoming song underneath them. Yeah, but the incoming
- 38:12Speaker 2: song is actually louder than the DJ, and the DJ
- 38:14Speaker 2: just keeps talking and you're like.
- 38:16Speaker 1: That's just bad equipment. That's yeah, that's distract that's just
- 38:19Speaker 1: bad equipment. That's not good.
- 38:21Speaker 4: Uh.
- 38:24Speaker 2: Jensen Wang, the CEO of Nvidia, he said, and when
- 38:30Speaker 2: all the AI stuff started to pop off, he was like,
- 38:32Speaker 2: we are in the new industrial revolution. He goes, this
- 38:36Speaker 2: is going to disrupt everything. If you think it won't,
- 38:40Speaker 2: you're wrong. It's going to disrupt everything. There was so
- 38:43Speaker 2: reading an article. I can't remember the guy's name, so
- 38:46Speaker 2: I apologize. I can dig it up later. But I
- 38:48Speaker 2: checked his bona fides. He's been a writer in Hollywood
- 38:50Speaker 2: for decades, and he was like, you know, normally when
- 38:53Speaker 2: you want to do a new movie, like a really
- 38:56Speaker 2: new movie, not a remake or a sequel or something
- 38:59Speaker 2: like that, waiting six seven, eight months for a fully
- 39:02Speaker 2: fleshed out script from one up to a team of writers.
- 39:07Speaker 2: He went on to chat GPT and said, I want
- 39:10Speaker 2: five brand new movies, not remakes, nothing like that. I
- 39:15Speaker 2: want five brand new movies, and I want a script
- 39:18Speaker 2: for all of them. And he went back about an
- 39:20Speaker 2: hour later and he was like, I had five movies
- 39:23Speaker 2: across multiple genres, with fully fleshed out scripts, plot points, everything.
- 39:28Speaker 2: I was actually talking to my wife about this the
- 39:31Speaker 2: other night and he took one of them and read
- 39:33Speaker 2: through the whole thing, and he was like, I had
- 39:34Speaker 2: to make like three edits then that was it. That's it,
- 39:38Speaker 2: and were my wife and I were talking about that
- 39:40Speaker 2: and we're like, well for movies, yes, I can absolutely
- 39:43Speaker 2: see that happening. That was definitely one of the big
- 39:45Speaker 2: sticking points during the Writer's Guild strike when they're going
- 39:50Speaker 2: through is you know, talking about AI and using their
- 39:53Speaker 2: data and their property and things like that. The question
- 39:57Speaker 2: when for me was when is AI going to be
- 40:01Speaker 2: able to write a TV show because a movie is
- 40:03Speaker 2: a self contained unit and you can go all the
- 40:06Speaker 2: way through and you're done. But when is a AI
- 40:09Speaker 2: going to be able to write a multi season long,
- 40:12Speaker 2: twenty episodes a season TV show with character development, plot points,
- 40:17Speaker 2: twists and turns. Because when that happens, and you can
- 40:21Speaker 2: and a studio executive can just be like, we need
- 40:24Speaker 2: a new sci fi show. Somebody go punch that into
- 40:26Speaker 2: the computer. You don't need to go shop around for it.
- 40:29Speaker 2: They can just be like, Nope, don't like that one,
- 40:31Speaker 2: generating new one. Nope, generating new one.
- 40:33Speaker 1: Imagine this too. You have you start your own network now,
- 40:37Speaker 1: I mean you can have you can have your own
- 40:39Speaker 1: TV channel. There are companies that can make it possible
- 40:41Speaker 1: for you for you to stream content the whole bit.
- 40:45Speaker 1: You can have a hit show that could become grassroots
- 40:48Speaker 1: people love it. And this is crazy. You don't even
- 40:51Speaker 1: need to use a cast. You can have it all
- 40:53Speaker 1: created by AI, the people in it, everything, And you
- 40:57Speaker 1: know the thing that's the whole thing about this, It
- 40:59Speaker 1: said's changing so much in the world. Some saying we
- 41:02Speaker 1: don't like it. I don't even like using the self
- 41:04Speaker 1: checkout when I go to the store.
- 41:07Speaker 4: Can I play Devil's Apoget just fine? Moment?
- 41:09Speaker 2: Yeah, when it comes to like a TV show or
- 41:11Speaker 2: a movie, when was the last time, and be honest,
- 41:14Speaker 2: all three of you, all right, when was the last
- 41:15Speaker 2: time you actually cared about who wrote a particular episode
- 41:19Speaker 2: or who was the technical director or who was the
- 41:21Speaker 2: executive producer of a particular show. When was the last
- 41:25Speaker 2: time any of you cared about that?
- 41:27Speaker 1: Uh no, no, it's more for me. It's always about
- 41:30Speaker 1: the cast.
- 41:31Speaker 3: Probably the Mandalorian Okay, oh yeah, when when you had
- 41:35Speaker 3: a lot of really good, famous writers and directors doing it?
- 41:40Speaker 4: Sure, and I can see that.
- 41:42Speaker 3: The one that I can go back to is Dallas Howard,
- 41:47Speaker 3: the episode that she directed, which if you go back
- 41:50Speaker 3: and watch this episode that she directed, there there is
- 41:52Speaker 3: almost a scene by seeing replication of Apoll thirteen that
- 41:57Speaker 3: her dad. Oh yeah, when the when the back through
- 42:01Speaker 3: Ron Howard, when it came when when the Apile thirty
- 42:04Speaker 3: came back to the atmosphere and tracks through the atmosphere.
- 42:07Speaker 3: Look it up. It's really cool. But that that's really
- 42:09Speaker 3: that's why the last time outside of Star Wars stuff.
- 42:12Speaker 2: With mine, mine's a cheat because it's based off a book,
- 42:18Speaker 2: but Dune because I needed somebody to have the appropriate
- 42:25Speaker 2: vision of grandeur and scale and the sheer misos that
- 42:30Speaker 2: is wrapped up in this book. I didn't care who
- 42:33Speaker 2: the executive producer was. I cared who the director was going.
- 42:36Speaker 5: To be for that.
- 42:37Speaker 2: I wanted somebody who could really gnaw the meat off
- 42:41Speaker 2: of that down to the bone. And Dennis Villano did
- 42:44Speaker 2: an amazing job.
- 42:45Speaker 1: Now did you see the first one, the very first
- 42:48Speaker 1: Dune that came out back? I want to see it.
- 42:50Speaker 2: Was it the eighties or nineties, nineteen eighty four, David
- 42:53Speaker 2: lynch rest in Peace Save Us?
- 42:55Speaker 5: I did.
- 42:56Speaker 4: It's Outside of the don Cosmos. It's a fun movie.
- 43:02Speaker 2: Yeah, But if you're comparing it to the book, I'm
- 43:05Speaker 2: just like slamming my head into the wall. I'm like,
- 43:08Speaker 2: you had Patrick Stewart as Gurnie Hallick and this is
- 43:13Speaker 2: what you give me.
- 43:15Speaker 1: Kenny McMillan man was so good in that love that
- 43:18Speaker 1: sting and just great.
- 43:21Speaker 2: So I do you know, you guys were able to
- 43:22Speaker 2: provide a few examples, and that's awesome, great examples of that.
- 43:26Speaker 2: But I would still stand by my point. For the
- 43:29Speaker 2: most part, people don't care about who writes it, who's
- 43:34Speaker 2: the executive producer, who's the technical director, right, heck, who's
- 43:38Speaker 2: even the director. They care about who's in it and
- 43:41Speaker 2: the plot. And so if AI starts writing these shows,
- 43:45Speaker 2: and as long as we can still maintain human actors,
- 43:48Speaker 2: you know, I don't think people are really gonna care
- 43:50Speaker 2: all that much.
- 43:52Speaker 4: That was actually part of the.
- 43:57Speaker 2: Sag the Screen Actors Guild. Their strike was about in
- 44:01Speaker 2: their contracts. It was your likeness can be used in
- 44:04Speaker 2: any future project via AI, and they were like, even
- 44:07Speaker 2: after your death, well, well that's money out of my pocket.
- 44:11Speaker 2: And it was actually the first time this ever came
- 44:13Speaker 2: into play. Here's a random, weird bit of trivia for you.
- 44:17Speaker 2: Crispin Glover did.
- 44:19Speaker 5: Not want to come back for.
- 44:21Speaker 2: Back to the Future too, right, He didn't, So they
- 44:24Speaker 2: used computers at the time to recreate his presence in
- 44:28Speaker 2: the movie.
- 44:29Speaker 4: He sued them and won.
- 44:31Speaker 1: Did he win at that? Due that you won?
- 44:33Speaker 4: He did one?
- 44:34Speaker 2: And after that it was a actor's likeness cannot be
- 44:37Speaker 2: used without their explicit permission, because they he didn't give
- 44:41Speaker 2: them permission to use his That was the whole Robin
- 44:43Speaker 2: Williams with the Aladdin genie, he offered to do Aladdin
- 44:47Speaker 2: for free or for the minimum amount, as long as
- 44:51Speaker 2: they didn't use his likeness in any type of advertising
- 44:54Speaker 2: or marketing purposes, and Disney did. And then Robin Williams said, also,
- 44:58Speaker 2: by the way, I'm never doing another movie for you
- 45:01Speaker 2: ever again.
- 45:01Speaker 1: Wow, did not even know that? All right, listen, we
- 45:04Speaker 1: got to take a quick break. We come back with
- 45:06Speaker 1: more of tech talk Radio. I'm Andy Taylor, I'm.
- 45:08Speaker 5: Sean de Weird, I'm Matt Jones, and I'm justin.
- 45:11Speaker 4: Let me send us a X at tech talk Radio.
- 45:15Speaker 5: We'll be right back now back to tech talk Radio.
- 45:19Speaker 4: Rick from so Rita, Did I say that?
- 45:21Speaker 1: Correct?
- 45:22Speaker 4: That right? Yeah?
- 45:23Speaker 1: You might as well move here now it's great, sweet,
- 45:26Speaker 1: I got right.
- 45:28Speaker 2: Rick says, Hey, guys, my twenty seven inch monitor is
- 45:30Speaker 2: about to go to the monitor Heaven and I'm trying
- 45:32Speaker 2: to decide what to replace it with. I do a
- 45:34Speaker 2: lot of different things on my screen at the same time.
- 45:36Speaker 2: Is a big screen better or maybe two screens? Thoughts
- 45:39Speaker 2: and what's a good brand? So I have done a
- 45:45Speaker 2: couple of different iterations of my displays over the years,
- 45:50Speaker 2: and it really depends kind of on what you're doing.
- 45:54Speaker 5: If you need something that.
- 45:56Speaker 2: You need really accurate colors, Like you're doing a lot
- 45:58Speaker 2: of photoshop creative stuff like that, you definitely want to
- 46:01Speaker 2: go for a monitor that And we'll touch background monitors
- 46:07Speaker 2: in a second exactly if you don't need that, if
- 46:10Speaker 2: you don't need the pure accurate color recreation things like that.
- 46:15Speaker 2: For years, I ran off a forty two inch LG
- 46:18Speaker 2: flat screen TV as my monitor. Four years.
- 46:23Speaker 4: Eventually I decided to change it. It was actually I
- 46:26Speaker 4: remember when I changed it.
- 46:27Speaker 2: It was when I turned thirty and I replaced it
- 46:29Speaker 2: with a thirty two inch Samsung curved monitor for gaming,
- 46:36Speaker 2: and it was better. For gaming, it was, and the
- 46:38Speaker 2: colors popped more, But for everything else I was doing,
- 46:41Speaker 2: it didn't matter. If you're doing a lot of things
- 46:44Speaker 2: on your screen at the same time, what is going
- 46:47Speaker 2: to be the biggest thing for you is going to
- 46:49Speaker 2: be screen real estate. So you have the like the
- 46:52Speaker 2: thirty nine forty nine inch ultra wide monitors, that's just
- 46:56Speaker 2: this big old arc curving in front of you, and
- 46:59Speaker 2: you can break that into two screens. So really what
- 47:04Speaker 2: it's coming down to is like what you're doing and
- 47:06Speaker 2: what's your budget, right, Because if you don't have a budget.
- 47:09Speaker 2: All right, We're going to talk about my dream here
- 47:11Speaker 2: for a second. Is the Samsung Arc two. It is
- 47:15Speaker 2: like a fifty five inch monstrousity. The controls come in
- 47:20Speaker 2: a separate attached puck and you can put multiple inputs
- 47:24Speaker 2: to it if you want, but it's built and baked
- 47:26Speaker 2: into it that you can break this fifty five inch
- 47:29Speaker 2: monstrosity down into two screens, four screens, or just one
- 47:34Speaker 2: big one, and you can also rotate the whole thing.
- 47:37Speaker 2: So if you're playing like flight sims, it looks like
- 47:39Speaker 2: you're in a cockpit. So I know this is a
- 47:42Speaker 2: big dump of information for you, Rick. So mainly what
- 47:45Speaker 2: it's going to come down to is like, do you
- 47:47Speaker 2: need a lot of screen real estate? If yes, go
- 47:49Speaker 2: for a bigger monitor. Are you doing creative stuff go
- 47:52Speaker 2: for a monitor. Do you have a tighter budget and
- 47:54Speaker 2: you need a lot of real estate, go for a
- 47:56Speaker 2: flat screen TV's.
- 47:59Speaker 4: That's kind of my advice on.
- 48:00Speaker 2: That, because sometimes when you're mounting multiple monitors, which is
- 48:04Speaker 2: the other thing that can also get frustrating as well.
- 48:07Speaker 1: I've been using a Curve thirty nine LG for about
- 48:11Speaker 1: a year and a half, and honestly, I came from
- 48:14Speaker 1: two twenty seven inch screens. I actually liked it better
- 48:18Speaker 1: when I was using the two screens than the long
- 48:22Speaker 1: curved screen. It was easier for me to move info.
- 48:26Speaker 1: Now I did find. You know, with Microsoft I've running Windows.
- 48:30Speaker 1: If you mouse up, say you grab your document and
- 48:33Speaker 1: you go to the top of the page, you'll see
- 48:35Speaker 1: different layouts. So you could do two by two or
- 48:39Speaker 1: one two three, and you could set those and just
- 48:42Speaker 1: drag and drop and drag it'll set those. But I
- 48:45Speaker 1: liked it when I could just drag it across over
- 48:48Speaker 1: to that screen and that's always there and then what
- 48:51Speaker 1: I'm working on right there. That's the benefit of two screens.
- 48:54Speaker 1: But if you get a big enough screen, like you
- 48:56Speaker 1: get that monstrosity, this huge one fifty five A, you
- 49:00Speaker 1: got a lot of real estate to work with.
- 49:02Speaker 5: Right Yeah.
- 49:04Speaker 2: Personally, I'm running to Samsung thirty two inch curved monitors and.
- 49:11Speaker 4: I love it.
- 49:12Speaker 1: Wow, justin what are you running there?
- 49:15Speaker 2: I have just a single Asus fourteen to forty p
- 49:20Speaker 2: monitor for the center, and then I just have two
- 49:22Speaker 2: cheap Dell twenty three inch monitors on the side, one
- 49:27Speaker 2: being vertical, one being horizontal. Because I really don't care
- 49:30Speaker 2: too much about what's on the side. It's more just
- 49:32Speaker 2: for extra real estate to put on like a web
- 49:34Speaker 2: page or outlook or whatever. It's the main monitor in
- 49:39Speaker 2: the center, the one that I'm staring at the most,
- 49:41Speaker 2: needs to be the better quality, how about you, Sean.
- 49:44Speaker 3: I'm running a twenty four inch Acer one hundred and
- 49:47Speaker 3: forty four Hurts on the left and just a straight
- 49:50Speaker 3: up Dell twenty four inch on the right, so nothing fancy.
- 49:56Speaker 3: They're mounted to my desk, got a stand so they're elevated,
- 49:59Speaker 3: so they've there's no stand on my desk, so I
- 50:01Speaker 3: can underneath and stuff.
- 50:03Speaker 1: Yeah, and you can't do that. You can buy stands
- 50:04Speaker 1: that will hold both monitors if you're gonna go with two.
- 50:06Speaker 1: And the other thing I've seen is people that go
- 50:10Speaker 1: with these thirty nine inch curves that there's stands available
- 50:13Speaker 1: that you could put it on top, put one on
- 50:15Speaker 1: top of it.
- 50:16Speaker 2: So I.
- 50:18Speaker 4: Did that for my wife.
- 50:20Speaker 2: Really, they gave she had a thirty nine inch Ultra Wide,
- 50:23Speaker 2: and her new job gave her another monitor to use
- 50:26Speaker 2: at home.
- 50:26Speaker 4: It was about the same size. And I know the company.
- 50:29Speaker 2: It's called the Aries, like Ares, the god of War,
- 50:33Speaker 2: the Aries Wing and it was a little fun to
- 50:38Speaker 2: put together. I blame my dogs more than the construction.
- 50:42Speaker 2: But she's now got like right in front of her
- 50:45Speaker 2: is her work MacBook Pro, so the webcams like directly
- 50:48Speaker 2: in front of her. And then just to the right,
- 50:50Speaker 2: she's got this ultra wide and stacked on top of
- 50:53Speaker 2: it is another monitor, and it's got articulation, So the
- 50:56Speaker 2: one on top is actually canted about forty five degrees
- 51:01Speaker 2: so that when she looks, she's not having to look
- 51:03Speaker 2: way up. It can't just right, so with that angle,
- 51:06Speaker 2: she just looks over and gets the full experience of
- 51:10Speaker 2: the monitor right there.
- 51:11Speaker 4: Like perfect, that's awesome.
- 51:13Speaker 1: Perfect, Okay, real quick. Here is something to consider though,
- 51:16Speaker 1: if you're thinking about doing dual monitors in that type
- 51:20Speaker 1: of situation, if you were thinking about doing a new monitor,
- 51:23Speaker 1: you want to check what you currently have as far
- 51:25Speaker 1: as your graphics card or even maybe you have integrated
- 51:29Speaker 1: graphics on this computer that maybe you're using, make sure
- 51:33Speaker 1: it can support that. Not every system is going to
- 51:37Speaker 1: be able to support two monitors because of the inputs
- 51:41Speaker 1: or i should say outputs of that video card to
- 51:43Speaker 1: that bigger monitor. So again something to consider. There are
- 51:47Speaker 1: graphics cards that can do you know dual head so
- 51:50Speaker 1: you can connect those there are some that you use
- 51:52Speaker 1: now DisplayPort or HDMI. Maybe you could do dual HTMI,
- 51:56Speaker 1: but certainly want to check that out first. We could
- 51:59Speaker 1: take another quick break. We come back with more of
- 52:00Speaker 1: tech talk Radio. You can find us on the way
- 52:03Speaker 1: of at tech talk radio dot com. I'm Andy Taylor,
- 52:05Speaker 1: I'm Sean de Weird, I'm Matt Jones, and I'm justin Leme.
- 52:08Speaker 4: We'll be right back and now fact to tech talk
- 52:11Speaker 4: Radio over the.
- 52:13Speaker 2: Break, and he was showing the rest of us that
- 52:15Speaker 2: he got a shiny new USB hub for five dollars
- 52:20Speaker 2: at a shop.
- 52:21Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 52:21Speaker 2: The thing that I love about this is he was like, look,
- 52:23Speaker 2: I found it for five dollars. And the first question
- 52:25Speaker 2: to all of us asked her, do you know what's
- 52:26Speaker 2: inside of it?
- 52:27Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 52:28Speaker 5: So like for those not for those who don't know,
- 52:31Speaker 5: and what I mean by what's.
- 52:32Speaker 4: Inside of it?
- 52:33Speaker 2: There was a thing done by the FBI a few
- 52:36Speaker 2: years ago where they bought a whole bunch of random
- 52:39Speaker 2: cables off Amazon and they tore them apart and found
- 52:41Speaker 2: out that some of these cables had a chip in there.
- 52:44Speaker 5: Now I was copying and sending off the data that
- 52:47Speaker 5: went through it. Really Yeah.
- 52:49Speaker 2: So when people are like, oh, I got this great
- 52:51Speaker 2: new thing for like five dollars, we're like, yeah, what's
- 52:52Speaker 2: the company, where's it made? Do you know what's inside
- 52:55Speaker 2: of it? Are you going to crack it open and
- 52:57Speaker 2: take a look. I'm gonna have to now right, Oh
- 52:59Speaker 2: you absolutely, you're gonna have to do it and send
- 53:02Speaker 2: pictures to us so we can be like, Andy, you're
- 53:04Speaker 2: not safe.
- 53:05Speaker 1: It is a made in Thailand, and it has a
- 53:07Speaker 1: USBC and it has three usbas I thought, wow, this
- 53:10Speaker 1: is great. A USB hub USBC hub right.
- 53:13Speaker 2: There, and also a chip to report everything you're doing
- 53:15Speaker 2: back to the CCP.
- 53:16Speaker 1: It's great.
- 53:17Speaker 2: So what we're trying to say with this is not
- 53:19Speaker 2: like scaring people like don't buy discount electronics. It's more
- 53:23Speaker 2: that you want to know the brand that you're buying.
- 53:26Speaker 2: I want to know where it's made, you know, to
- 53:29Speaker 2: try and keep yourself safe. Everyone is getting sneakier. Justin
- 53:34Speaker 2: brought up the CCP, the Chinese Communist Party. They're getting sneakier.
- 53:38Speaker 2: Russia is getting sneakier. Hey, shocker, America is getting sneakier too,
- 53:42Speaker 2: and we are not immune to all of this. So
- 53:45Speaker 2: it's really one with these cool devices. It's like, I
- 53:47Speaker 2: got it for five bucks. It's a cool microphone. It's like, okay,
- 53:52Speaker 2: what's in your microphone?
- 53:53Speaker 5: Man? What's going on with that?
- 53:55Speaker 1: All right, let me show you guys something ridiculous to
- 53:57Speaker 1: wrap the show. See this thing it pulled out, It
- 54:01Speaker 1: folds all right, and then you can put your phone
- 54:05Speaker 1: on the slot in the back and it's a magnifier.
- 54:09Speaker 1: It magnifies your smart phone.
- 54:12Speaker 5: Saw that on a Disney show like three years ago.
- 54:15Speaker 4: I've seen that before. Yeah, this is crazy.
- 54:17Speaker 3: It was only Andy spent a little too much time
- 54:20Speaker 3: overnight watching QVC. Yeah, twenty bucks for that thing said
- 54:24Speaker 3: he has are the late night things you see on QVC.
- 54:28Speaker 2: Andy's favorite channels are QVC and Hallmark. I was about
- 54:32Speaker 2: to say he had to be on QVC because the
- 54:33Speaker 2: Hallmark channel must have gone down or something. I didn't
- 54:35Speaker 2: get you.
- 54:36Speaker 1: Guys Christmas present. So he's gonna get you each a hub.
- 54:41Speaker 5: I'll pass on, all right, you though, Yeah, there you go,
- 54:44Speaker 5: so that counts all right.
- 54:46Speaker 1: Well, that's it for this week's Tech Talk Radio. I'm
- 54:48Speaker 1: gonna crack this thing open. We'll see what's in it,
- 54:50Speaker 1: and we'll report it next week on the show. All Right,
- 54:52Speaker 1: I'm Andy Taylor.
- 54:54Speaker 5: I'm Sean dea Weird, I'm Matt Jones, and I'm Justin.
- 54:57Speaker 2: Let me once again find us on the web tech
- 54:59Speaker 2: talk radio dot com. Have yourselves a great week.
- 55:01Speaker 4: We'll see it.
