- 0:00Speaker 1: Scrubbing In with Beca Tilly and Tanya rad and iHeartRadio
- 0:04Speaker 1: and two times People's Choice Award winning podcast.
- 0:10Speaker 2: Hello everybody, we are scrubbing in.
- 0:16Speaker 1: I'll let you have your moment.
- 0:18Speaker 2: Then I said we could hard.
- 0:19Speaker 1: I'm nothing if I'm not a student today, I'm fine.
- 0:26Speaker 1: Oh just fine, yeah, just a little fine. Why I'm
- 0:30Speaker 1: just crampy, Yeah, crampy and crabby.
- 0:34Speaker 2: I'm a little krabby too.
- 0:36Speaker 1: Dang. Yeah. When are you getting yours any day?
- 0:42Speaker 3: Now?
- 0:42Speaker 2: Oh?
- 0:42Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 0:43Speaker 2: Yeah, So I'm we're.
- 0:44Speaker 1: All right into each other.
- 0:45Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah. So I'm I'm like on my like
- 0:49Speaker 2: nearing my rage feeling and then and then it'll come.
- 0:54Speaker 1: It's really crazy, like when you think about it, like
- 0:58Speaker 1: we just bleed out.
- 1:00Speaker 4: I was talking Alison about this yesterday.
- 1:02Speaker 1: It's so crazy to me.
- 1:04Speaker 4: And do you have like two weeks out of the
- 1:05Speaker 4: entire months just kind of stolen from you?
- 1:08Speaker 5: Yes?
- 1:08Speaker 2: Yeah, because when you're not physically, as Donia's so eloquently
- 1:11Speaker 2: put it, bleeding out, you are going through just all
- 1:17Speaker 2: the emotions.
- 1:18Speaker 1: Yeah, of life, yes, yes, And like what's so crazy
- 1:23Speaker 1: is like when you're in your trying to conceive season
- 1:26Speaker 1: of life. Yes, the same pre period symptoms are like
- 1:31Speaker 1: pregnancy symptoms. So you're like, oh, my nipples are hurting,
- 1:34Speaker 1: and you're like, oh my god. And then you're like, oh,
- 1:36Speaker 1: they hurt every month before I get my period, you
- 1:38Speaker 1: know what I mean. So then I'm like, I've never
- 1:39Speaker 1: asked chatchbet more stuff in my life and it's always
- 1:43Speaker 1: like split it could be this, and it could be this.
- 1:45Speaker 1: I'm like, yeah, thanks for that information.
- 1:49Speaker 2: I think that's the information, and a doctor would give
- 1:51Speaker 2: two though. Yeah, it could be like I can't just
- 1:53Speaker 2: text my doctor right now. Chat you b T he
- 1:56Speaker 2: got me? Yeah? Wait? Did you see there is this
- 2:01Speaker 2: group of girls that went on this bachelorette party, Acquired
- 2:04Speaker 2: Style and her group of friends.
- 2:07Speaker 1: You didn't see her style?
- 2:08Speaker 2: No, my gosh. Social media is so weird because.
- 2:12Speaker 1: Your feelings are.
- 2:14Speaker 2: Inundated with this one thing and you're like everyone knows
- 2:18Speaker 2: about this, and then.
- 2:19Speaker 1: And then here comes Tony on the other side of everything. Hallelujah.
- 2:25Speaker 2: So this group of girls, it's these identical twins and
- 2:29Speaker 2: one of them they're her user name is acquired Style.
- 2:32Speaker 1: Okay, anyone else I would recognize on this trip?
- 2:35Speaker 2: Do you know Lauren Wolf? She's an amazing travel influencer
- 2:39Speaker 2: kit Keenan. She was on The Bachelor. Nope, I don't
- 2:43Speaker 2: think you know anyone else.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Okay, so.
- 2:47Speaker 2: Acquired style. I think her name is Bridget Bridget and
- 2:52Speaker 2: her identical sister is Danielle. So Bridget is planning her
- 2:56Speaker 2: bachelorette party and the whole time she's kind of showing
- 2:59Speaker 2: leading up to it. These are just people that are
- 3:01Speaker 2: really good at creating social media content. And she has
- 3:05Speaker 2: a theme for it called Acquired a Husband. That's the
- 3:07Speaker 2: bachelorette theme. She acquired a husband. So they they she
- 3:11Speaker 2: starts off and she's in this penthouse suite in New
- 3:14Speaker 2: York and she's getting all her bridesmaids their spray tnds
- 3:17Speaker 2: or all the girls going on the trip their spray
- 3:19Speaker 2: tands and she documents it. And then it's time for
- 3:22Speaker 2: the trip and they get this insane private jet to
- 3:26Speaker 2: Saint Bart's okay, and it has like bedrooms on it,
- 3:30Speaker 2: this private jet. It's crazy. Another rich well that everyone's
- 3:34Speaker 2: trying to figure out, like what I mean that's just
- 3:37Speaker 2: being able to get a private jet, much less that
- 3:41Speaker 2: private jet is insane. How much that could cost? Yeah,
- 3:45Speaker 2: So then she's promoting this. It's like an AI mirror,
- 3:50Speaker 2: so it's a travel mirror, and it's like, if you're
- 3:53Speaker 2: looking at the mirror, it puts the place where you
- 3:55Speaker 2: should put your blush and content and everything. So it's
- 3:59Speaker 2: called Beauty. I guess it's a big beauty brand, Swan Baby.
- 4:03Speaker 2: So everyone's like, we've never heard of Swan Beauty, and
- 4:06Speaker 2: now they're they paid for this private jet and sponsored
- 4:09Speaker 2: this trip.
- 4:10Speaker 1: They sponsored her bachelorette.
- 4:12Speaker 2: So then you find out she she's friends with the
- 4:15Speaker 2: daughter of the owner of the company. Okay, so they're
- 4:19Speaker 2: just loaded and they have like a yaw and st
- 4:21Speaker 2: Bart's all this stuff.
- 4:22Speaker 1: Okay, but the way they.
- 4:24Speaker 2: Are churning out content every almost all the girls who
- 4:27Speaker 2: are influencers on the trip.
- 4:28Speaker 1: Okay.
- 4:29Speaker 2: So there's a group of girls and you know, you
- 4:30Speaker 2: always have the bachelorette where there's girls who are not
- 4:34Speaker 2: not fond or care about social media, and then you
- 4:39Speaker 2: have the girls who love social media and the girls
- 4:44Speaker 2: that are the social media content creators are they're just
- 4:47Speaker 2: pumping out content, so everyone's you're getting it from it.
- 4:50Speaker 2: If you watch one, you're getting all of okay, and
- 4:52Speaker 2: it was insane. So now everyone's like I can't believe
- 4:55Speaker 2: my bachelorette is after this, and everyone's like, thank god,
- 4:59Speaker 2: my bachelorette was before this. And someone's like, my friend,
- 5:03Speaker 2: my all my friends sending me the private jet video,
- 5:08Speaker 2: like we're not getting a private jet. But it was
- 5:12Speaker 2: just the craziest thing ever, and they crushed it. I
- 5:14Speaker 2: don't know how they did it.
- 5:16Speaker 3: Wow.
- 5:16Speaker 2: Yeah, so it was an inspirational aspirational I would say,
- 5:19Speaker 2: but anyway, your own bachelorette. No, no, but all these
- 5:24Speaker 2: people have opinions on this, right, they're like, oh, in
- 5:28Speaker 2: this economy, it feels so like in your face. And
- 5:30Speaker 2: I'm like, when I get on social media, I want
- 5:34Speaker 2: people who are aspirational. I don't want to watch people
- 5:37Speaker 2: doing the same. Like I'm trying to watch people who
- 5:39Speaker 2: are living bigger than me because I want to live bigger.
- 5:43Speaker 1: So it's funny that you say that, because I too
- 5:46Speaker 1: love that. I love seeing like people's like amazing trips
- 5:50Speaker 1: and like things that are like very out of reach
- 5:53Speaker 1: for me.
- 5:53Speaker 2: Huh.
- 5:54Speaker 1: But then I also like love seeing like the there's
- 5:58Speaker 1: this s girl that I follow that she's like what
- 6:00Speaker 1: I eat in a day as a battie, and she
- 6:02Speaker 1: just like it's just like she's just doing it, eating
- 6:07Speaker 1: like I don't know, big Coca Cola and some Papa,
- 6:12Speaker 1: some donuts and you know what i mean. She's like
- 6:13Speaker 1: go through her day and it's just very like not curated,
- 6:17Speaker 1: not cute. She's just like doing it in the thing.
- 6:19Speaker 1: And I'm like, I also love that content too, do
- 6:22Speaker 1: you know what I mean?
- 6:22Speaker 2: Yeah, but that's like her. That's like that's a category
- 6:26Speaker 2: of content, right, the food stuff and watching people do
- 6:30Speaker 2: day to day things. But I'm saying when people go
- 6:32Speaker 2: on trips, I want to see the outrageous stuff because
- 6:36Speaker 2: I'm like, holy hell, like that is incredible. But you know,
- 6:41Speaker 2: everyone has an opinion at the end of the day.
- 6:43Speaker 2: People are people were making videos like if you have
- 6:46Speaker 2: anything negative to say about this trip, just say you're jealous.
- 6:50Speaker 2: That's all it. Just say you're jealous. Yeah, I'm jealous.
- 6:55Speaker 2: I'm like, Wow, that's amazing. I don't necessarily think that
- 6:58Speaker 2: that's what you need to have an amazing bachelorette, but
- 7:01Speaker 2: what an incredible opportunity totally to do that totally and
- 7:04Speaker 2: they entertained. I watched so much of the content, Oh.
- 7:07Speaker 1: My gosh, really, just you should go back and watch it.
- 7:10Speaker 2: You have a lot of scrolling hours.
- 7:12Speaker 1: I love that for me, actually, I love you know.
- 7:15Speaker 1: I also this is like so weird. I love seeing
- 7:17Speaker 1: like one event through the eyes of like multiple people there,
- 7:21Speaker 1: do you know what I mean?
- 7:22Speaker 2: Like, like what kind of event.
- 7:23Speaker 1: Like Coachella, for instance, We're seeing it from people who
- 7:26Speaker 1: were there with brands and seeing people who were camping,
- 7:29Speaker 1: and like seeing all the different sides of it. Like
- 7:31Speaker 1: I really thoroughly enjoyed that, Like seeing the people who
- 7:33Speaker 1: were talking with just about the food versus the people
- 7:36Speaker 1: who were there just for the music versus the people
- 7:38Speaker 1: who were just there for their outfits.
- 7:39Speaker 2: Like I love it too.
- 7:40Speaker 1: I love it.
- 7:41Speaker 2: I loved Coachella content specifically.
- 7:45Speaker 1: There was this clip of Amaya Papaya there because they're,
- 7:49Speaker 1: you know, like you know, the show Beyond the Villa.
- 7:51Speaker 2: It doesn't seem to be doing well and they don't
- 7:53Speaker 2: it seems like people aren't liking the cast as much
- 7:56Speaker 2: seeing them be on the villa.
- 7:58Speaker 1: Yeah, fears people do not want to see them be
- 8:01Speaker 1: on the villa, but they There's like this little video
- 8:04Speaker 1: of they're asking a Mile like did you watch Beyond
- 8:06Speaker 1: the Villa Season one? And she was like I saw
- 8:08Speaker 1: clips on on social media and I was like, that's
- 8:12Speaker 1: how we all ingest our content these days. Yeah, seeing
- 8:16Speaker 1: the clips online.
- 8:18Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't think people are loving everyone's personalities on
- 8:22Speaker 2: beyond the villa. Yeah, I haven't seen anything great about it. Like,
- 8:26Speaker 2: if anything, I've seen people turn on the girls and
- 8:29Speaker 2: they're like all fans of or going back to liking
- 8:32Speaker 2: Pepe and and all this stuff. I just looking bad Hannah.
- 8:36Speaker 2: I keep seeing people talk about Hannah. Oh she was
- 8:39Speaker 2: so beloved now saying you can't you can't get greedy.
- 8:43Speaker 2: If what you're on.
- 8:44Speaker 1: Top, you gotta just stay on there, like, don't be
- 8:46Speaker 1: don't be doing these reality TV shows, Just stay on top.
- 8:50Speaker 2: I kind of feel like Leah did that, and like Leah.
- 8:53Speaker 1: Okay Tep Yeah, I always say to her name wrong.
- 8:55Speaker 1: Everybody literally tells me every time I say it wrong,
- 8:58Speaker 1: it's a TEP and I say k TB, So that
- 9:01Speaker 1: makes sense. So it's what is it, KTEB?
- 9:02Speaker 2: I think it's KTEB. And she just kind of does
- 9:06Speaker 2: her thing but didn't really do beyond. She was doing it,
- 9:09Speaker 2: I know, but she wasn't really. I don't have memories
- 9:13Speaker 2: of her talking like she knew to stay out of
- 9:17Speaker 2: the dramas. When I'm saying, oh, I feel, I feel
- 9:20Speaker 2: she knew knew where to stay to make sure no
- 9:23Speaker 2: one could switch up on her.
- 9:24Speaker 1: I can't believe that they turned on Hannah. She was
- 9:27Speaker 1: like the most beloved.
- 9:28Speaker 2: I mean, that's just what. I don't know if that's
- 9:30Speaker 2: the overall consensus. It's just what's coming up on my fee.
- 9:33Speaker 2: You can tell me what I'm just saying. I don't know.
- 9:35Speaker 2: I don't know what the general majority is feeling. But
- 9:40Speaker 2: that's just what I've seen these people being like.
- 9:43Speaker 1: Well, let me tell you something about me. There are one, two, three, four, five,
- 9:50Speaker 1: a little less than six weeks until Love Island USA
- 9:53Speaker 1: premieres again.
- 9:55Speaker 2: What does that mean?
- 9:56Speaker 1: Heaven?
- 9:57Speaker 2: Heaven? When do they announce the past? How early do
- 10:01Speaker 2: they announce the cast?
- 10:02Speaker 1: I don't know the answer to that, because like, I
- 10:03Speaker 1: don't really care, do you know what I mean? Like
- 10:05Speaker 1: you don't care about them until you are watching the show.
- 10:08Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 10:08Speaker 1: So it's not like.
- 10:11Speaker 2: I'm going, We're going to F one this weekend in Miami,
- 10:14Speaker 2: So I hope I have some good sightings for it.
- 10:19Speaker 1: Was Hamilton. He is an F one racer, I wonder
- 10:21Speaker 1: if you'll see Kim Kardashian.
- 10:24Speaker 2: I don't think they're public.
- 10:27Speaker 1: They're like frolicking on the beach in Malibu.
- 10:30Speaker 2: Right, But that's just a stalker getting or paparazza getting shots.
- 10:33Speaker 2: And I don't think they're out like doing public events together.
- 10:37Speaker 2: I guess is what I'm saying.
- 10:38Speaker 1: They're not.
- 10:39Speaker 2: I'm just saying I don't know if she would go
- 10:40Speaker 2: and be there, but she I mean I could if
- 10:42Speaker 2: she was gonna be at one. I feel like Miami
- 10:44Speaker 2: could be the one for sure. I'll let you know
- 10:45Speaker 2: if I see her.
- 10:47Speaker 1: Oh, Miami's fun. Do you want to hear about your
- 10:49Speaker 1: atte there?
- 10:50Speaker 2: Oh, well, I'll let you know.
- 10:52Speaker 3: You know what happened in Miami?
- 10:54Speaker 1: Never Miami?
- 10:55Speaker 3: Never happened? Who says that Pitbull and the song that
- 10:58Speaker 3: we play every ten minutes?
- 11:01Speaker 4: I love Miami?
- 11:02Speaker 2: Yeah, John, Yeah, it's mister three or five.
- 11:04Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 11:05Speaker 3: By the way, you know what I enjoy on social media? Nothing,
- 11:08Speaker 3: It's just one of these things like why do I
- 11:09Speaker 3: enjoy this? I don't know. I love watching people try
- 11:12Speaker 3: to guess beverages they drink the through straw out of
- 11:15Speaker 3: a cardboard box.
- 11:16Speaker 2: I love that. I want to do that.
- 11:18Speaker 3: I could watch that all.
- 11:19Speaker 1: Day same, I could do I love those videos.
- 11:24Speaker 2: I might. I might do it just for fun.
- 11:26Speaker 3: Maybe to describe that to me and have said I
- 11:27Speaker 3: have no interest in that, but I watch them like, yes,
- 11:29Speaker 3: I want more of this, please.
- 11:31Speaker 2: So I'm always shocked that people when people don't get
- 11:34Speaker 2: them right, I think the harder I think the harder
- 11:36Speaker 2: version is doing the same soda from different places or
- 11:40Speaker 2: different Yeah, like McDonald's can zero diets.
- 11:48Speaker 3: Yeah, those are amazing because the ones I watch they
- 11:51Speaker 3: get them all. It's amazing. I watch the other guy
- 11:53Speaker 3: who does all red, all red beverages, all purple beverages,
- 11:56Speaker 3: and those are also very, very enjoyable. But when they're
- 11:59Speaker 3: all versions of coke and they get it right, I'm
- 12:01Speaker 3: blown away.
- 12:02Speaker 2: Yeah, I arrogantly think I could do it, but I
- 12:06Speaker 2: think I'd be humbled. So I'm curus. I'm just curious
- 12:08Speaker 2: about my skill level.
- 12:09Speaker 1: I feel like I saw one with water at one point.
- 12:16Speaker 2: The thing.
- 12:18Speaker 4: Mark when you were growing up and you're watching like
- 12:21Speaker 4: these incredible movies and listening to this music and just thinking,
- 12:24Speaker 4: you know, in a few years, I'm gonna watch a
- 12:26Speaker 4: guy guess different red.
- 12:27Speaker 3: Yeah, and yet I'm all in on it. Yeah, I'm
- 12:30Speaker 3: like going into his profile. Done.
- 12:33Speaker 1: But you know what I think the water one was
- 12:35Speaker 1: that I saw. I think it was an ad for
- 12:38Speaker 1: like like the water purifier for their home.
- 12:44Speaker 2: Yeah, it was like, Yeah, I tried to pitch it
- 12:47Speaker 2: to a brand one time as for a sponsored video,
- 12:50Speaker 2: and they wouldn't let me. And I'm like, this is
- 12:52Speaker 2: because I don't want to compete.
- 12:53Speaker 1: Yeah, but they don't want like their competitors next to them,
- 12:56Speaker 1: you know, just.
- 12:57Speaker 2: Be like yeah, yeah, until I got.
- 13:00Speaker 1: This can't be.
- 13:02Speaker 2: I'd have to really put on a but I was.
- 13:05Speaker 2: I was suggesting doing the different drinks from the same company.
- 13:10Speaker 1: I could never. I would lose so bad. I don't
- 13:13Speaker 1: even know the difference between skirt and seven up I squirt, skirt,
- 13:19Speaker 1: skirt skirt.
- 13:21Speaker 3: I bet you could do squirt the summer. I bet
- 13:23Speaker 3: you could.
- 13:24Speaker 1: I don't think so mountain do and skirt, Yeah.
- 13:29Speaker 4: Well, I mean squirts grapefruit and different Yeah, there's a
- 13:34Speaker 4: different forms of citrus.
- 13:37Speaker 3: I was mountain dew and mellow yellow. I would struggle with.
- 13:41Speaker 4: I thought it would be hard to.
- 13:46Speaker 3: Skirt.
- 13:48Speaker 1: I like, just never drinks. It's actually so funny so
- 13:50Speaker 1: I was like really gassy yesterday, thank you. It was
- 13:55Speaker 1: my period and I was like burping a lot, and
- 13:59Speaker 1: Robbie was like, what did you drink today? I was like,
- 14:01Speaker 1: the last soda I had was the PEPSI I drink
- 14:03Speaker 1: in Mammoth in February, Like I don't drink soda.
- 14:06Speaker 2: So I was like crazy, Yeah, oh so much soda,
- 14:10Speaker 2: so bad, so bad, you know, to each their own.
- 14:15Speaker 4: No, we're hoarding the dit coke with lime. Have you
- 14:18Speaker 4: guys had that I have? It's a limited edition. It's
- 14:20Speaker 4: so good, and they like stopped selling it. So every
- 14:22Speaker 4: now and then we'll be at a target, we'll see
- 14:24Speaker 4: if I'm in the sale section. We just like we're
- 14:27Speaker 4: stockpiling die coked.
- 14:29Speaker 1: A ginger ale when your tummy is upset, it's good.
- 14:34Speaker 1: Nothing's like a Becca.
- 14:35Speaker 3: I would watch you do like you're a diet doctor,
- 14:37Speaker 3: pepper expert.
- 14:39Speaker 2: You should do soda.
- 14:40Speaker 5: I know, I really, I'm surprised you haven't. You're right, yeah,
- 14:45Speaker 5: because you don't know how to make the box, make
- 14:49Speaker 5: the ball poke a hole in a box. Donya, give
- 14:53Speaker 5: me some credit.
- 14:54Speaker 1: Okay, I'm just wondering, like what's stopping you?
- 14:56Speaker 2: You know, just laziness really dang. Mostly it's what stop
- 15:00Speaker 2: saying from everything.
- 15:01Speaker 3: Yeah, do you think you could do the coke one?
- 15:04Speaker 2: That's the thing. I think I could do the coke one. Yes,
- 15:06Speaker 2: But I watch people be so confident and then they
- 15:09Speaker 2: don't get them, and I'm like, maybe it's harder out
- 15:13Speaker 2: of side, out of mind, you know.
- 15:14Speaker 3: But it's also a lot of legwork because somebody's got
- 15:16Speaker 3: to go to the you know, gas station and get
- 15:18Speaker 3: it out of the fountain. Somebody's got, like you got
- 15:20Speaker 3: to go get all the different times.
- 15:22Speaker 2: I could get a bunch of them at seven to eleven,
- 15:24Speaker 2: that's true. I could hit fountain, bottle, hand diet and bottle,
- 15:30Speaker 2: and then I could just get a different fast you
- 15:32Speaker 2: know Donald's. Yeah, yea, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah.
- 15:34Speaker 4: I would be impressed to see fountain from different places. Yeah,
- 15:38Speaker 4: because McDonald's has a specific taste which everyone knows. But
- 15:42Speaker 4: like the other I mean, Burger King and Wendy's, I
- 15:44Speaker 4: don't think I could tell.
- 15:45Speaker 2: And my thought is is it the ice that what
- 15:48Speaker 2: is it that makes it taste different in the same
- 15:50Speaker 2: style cup. It's it really is a scientifical It's.
- 15:54Speaker 4: The syrup comes in a metal container instead of a box.
- 15:58Speaker 4: And it's the ratio of syrup to water. When I
- 16:01Speaker 4: worked at a movie theater, we would do uh, there
- 16:04Speaker 4: was a separator. We could put on the little nozzle
- 16:06Speaker 4: and it would give you just soda, water and just syrup.
- 16:08Speaker 4: And we would take hits of like just syrup sometimes
- 16:13Speaker 4: just right syrup is honestly really good.
- 16:15Speaker 1: Gross.
- 16:17Speaker 2: Good to know what y'all are doing back there. Then
- 16:21Speaker 2: shall we get into some deer.
- 16:22Speaker 1: Well, that's what we're doing, is going to go in
- 16:25Speaker 1: a different tangent about movie theaters.
- 16:27Speaker 3: We could do that too. We should take a break off.
- 16:29Speaker 1: You guys don't mind, okay, because I did something in
- 16:31Speaker 1: the movie theater that was like kind of embarrassing.
- 16:34Speaker 2: Sure we're back, Ah, okay, you had another excuse me moment?
- 16:56Speaker 3: Well, like not.
- 16:56Speaker 1: Quite because I didn't know well I actually didn't know
- 16:59Speaker 1: that other person either. But so we were sitting down
- 17:02Speaker 1: and Robbie was getting our popcorn and drinks or whatever.
- 17:06Speaker 1: So me and the kids walk up, go to our
- 17:08Speaker 1: seats and there's four people sitting in our seats.
- 17:12Speaker 3: What movie where you're saying? Tell you this is important
- 17:14Speaker 3: to the story. Movie was Super Mario?
- 17:18Speaker 1: Yeah, I couldn't even remember because I did not enjoy it.
- 17:26Speaker 1: I know, spoiler alert, but I like the first one,
- 17:29Speaker 1: so it's no knock on Mario brother brothers.
- 17:32Speaker 3: Maybe watch the first one, and I watched it on
- 17:33Speaker 3: a plane and I did not particularly care for it.
- 17:36Speaker 4: It was fun.
- 17:38Speaker 1: Second's yeah, so okay, So there's people sitting in our seats,
- 17:42Speaker 1: and I was like, excuse me, ma'am, I think you're
- 17:46Speaker 1: sitting in our seats, and mind you, it's like her,
- 17:49Speaker 1: her husband and like their two kids. They've all got
- 17:51Speaker 1: their popcorn their laps there. We had like the recliner
- 17:53Speaker 1: seats of horizontal, completely horizontal popcorns in the seats flying
- 17:58Speaker 1: around because they've been sharing already, like in joining the commercials.
- 18:02Speaker 1: And I'm like, you're in our seats. She's like, no, no,
- 18:05Speaker 1: we're in you know, G one, two, three, four, And
- 18:07Speaker 1: I was like, oh, okay, So like I don't even
- 18:09Speaker 1: think about it. But then I look at the seat
- 18:10Speaker 1: in front of me and it's twenty and we're h
- 18:13Speaker 1: twenty in nineteen eighteen seventeen, So I was like, and
- 18:17Speaker 1: I look over and I see they're on the opposite side.
- 18:22Speaker 1: So a normal person would just like take the four
- 18:24Speaker 1: of us who haven't sat down and like ghosted on
- 18:26Speaker 1: their side, and I was like, actually, sorry, mam, you
- 18:28Speaker 1: are in our seats. Where whatever whatever made this family
- 18:31Speaker 1: of four have to recline their seats, get all their
- 18:35Speaker 1: shovel their stuff together, put their jackets back on, and
- 18:38Speaker 1: walk around to the other side of the movie theater.
- 18:41Speaker 2: So they were in the same row, just on the
- 18:43Speaker 2: other side. Why did you do that?
- 18:45Speaker 1: Because they were in my seats? I didn't even like think,
- 18:48Speaker 1: and then I was like, I'm an asshole.
- 18:50Speaker 2: Oh okay, yeah, well I mean at the end of
- 18:53Speaker 2: the day, it's like, because what if, like.
- 18:55Speaker 1: They didn't buy those seats, and then halfway through the
- 18:57Speaker 1: movie somebody comes up and is like, ma'am, are not
- 19:01Speaker 1: real seats, you know? And then like I don't know,
- 19:04Speaker 1: Like that's where my mind goes, you know what I mean,
- 19:06Speaker 1: Like I'm going to get because I'm not in my
- 19:08Speaker 1: actual seat, and then what if these seats were like
- 19:10Speaker 1: not actually theirs? And then I'm disrupted. I like to
- 19:14Speaker 1: follow the rules.
- 19:16Speaker 2: Yeah, which I guess in a situation. I guess if
- 19:20Speaker 2: I it would be the same thing as getting on
- 19:22Speaker 2: an airplane and you're in the same row, but someone's
- 19:24Speaker 2: on one window seat and then there's the window seat
- 19:27Speaker 2: on the other side, right, And if someone sat in mind,
- 19:29Speaker 2: I'd be like, oh, no, worries, I'll just take yours
- 19:31Speaker 2: on the side, right.
- 19:33Speaker 1: I didn't do that, Yeah.
- 19:35Speaker 2: But maybe for next time you will. Yeah.
- 19:36Speaker 1: It was a learning moment. Yeah, yeah, teaching the moment.
- 19:39Speaker 5: All we can ask for is to be a student,
- 19:41Speaker 5: to be a sponge of the world.
- 19:45Speaker 2: Next time, you'll go this has happened before. And then
- 19:47Speaker 2: I bet mid movie someone will come up and go,
- 19:50Speaker 2: these are not real seat.
- 19:51Speaker 1: Are seats? These are stolen seats. I don't know. Like
- 19:55Speaker 1: that's where my head goes.
- 19:56Speaker 3: We're reminiscing the other day about how assigned seats at
- 19:59Speaker 3: movies is a recent and recent innovation.
- 20:03Speaker 2: Yeah, it makes sense for I don't know that I
- 20:06Speaker 2: love it.
- 20:07Speaker 4: I love it on our beloved and dearly departed dark
- 20:10Speaker 4: light cinemas used to be the only ones that did it.
- 20:12Speaker 3: Yeah, everyone. But I also feel like in the old days,
- 20:14Speaker 3: we would just say, hey, we should go see a movie. Anyways,
- 20:17Speaker 3: go to the theater. Fifteen we go see it. Now
- 20:20Speaker 3: you'd be you're gonna be sitting apart, You're gonna be
- 20:22Speaker 3: all over the place because now you have to get
- 20:24Speaker 3: them in advance. You really do.
- 20:26Speaker 2: Yeah, I used to have to remember having to call
- 20:29Speaker 2: the theater and seeing what time the movie started.
- 20:32Speaker 1: Are that I don't remember?
- 20:34Speaker 3: Quiz my kids. So I'm asking kids, my daughters. I said,
- 20:37Speaker 3: when I was young, how did I know what time
- 20:40Speaker 3: movie started? And they were stumped on that. They really
- 20:44Speaker 3: could not come up with a way. No phones, no internet.
- 20:48Speaker 1: They like, carry your pigeons.
- 20:50Speaker 3: They didn't guess carrier pigeons. They might have guessed that
- 20:52Speaker 3: we called them, but we didn't call them. I rarely
- 20:55Speaker 3: called the theater because there was a different way that
- 20:58Speaker 3: we could know the news paper. We were a newspaper family.
- 21:01Speaker 3: They did not come up with that.
- 21:04Speaker 2: Wow, Yeah, we were capturing the gen Z listeners of this.
- 21:09Speaker 3: Well, that's fascinating to them.
- 21:10Speaker 2: It's like from the land of.
- 21:15Speaker 1: Your I'm proud of it. But I honestly don't remember
- 21:19Speaker 1: those days of like not having a science sea.
- 21:21Speaker 2: We only oh, not having a signed suit. I mean,
- 21:23Speaker 2: now someone would go and have to save them, and
- 21:25Speaker 2: it was stressful if you were the one having to
- 21:27Speaker 2: save them while people got the snacks.
- 21:29Speaker 3: Yeah, but I also don't know how it worked in
- 21:30Speaker 3: Los Angeles because I was in Madison, Wisconsin. It's really
- 21:33Speaker 3: easy to put the forward theaters that we had in
- 21:35Speaker 3: town in the newspaper. LA had to have fifty theaters. Yeah,
- 21:38Speaker 3: but you have your local newspaper, the La Times.
- 21:41Speaker 1: No, there's more localer ones.
- 21:42Speaker 3: So the localer ones had it, not the big ones.
- 21:44Speaker 1: I would assume, Yeah, that's that was an Orange County
- 21:47Speaker 1: because we had a theater by our house, and it
- 21:48Speaker 1: was like I remember like the Ross Morgazette or something.
- 21:51Speaker 1: Oh okay, yeah, something like that.
- 21:55Speaker 2: Yeah, it's good times. Honestly, I mean we you know,
- 21:58Speaker 2: you watch there's these like nostalgia videos from times of
- 22:03Speaker 2: like nineties, and people, I think even the younger generation
- 22:08Speaker 2: wishes they knew what that was like, because they're so
- 22:12Speaker 2: inundated with social media and phones and technology that they're like,
- 22:16Speaker 2: I can't even imagine a life without having to live
- 22:19Speaker 2: this way.
- 22:20Speaker 1: And I'm like, it's so fascinating to me because I
- 22:23Speaker 1: feel like I'm always ingesting something. I will have my
- 22:26Speaker 1: phone going on reels and just like going and I'm
- 22:30Speaker 1: like cleaning, I'm listening to a podcast, I'm watching the
- 22:35Speaker 1: television while I'm on my phone, like I'm constantly ingesting
- 22:38Speaker 1: and it's crap too, Like it's like it's like learning
- 22:42Speaker 1: another language, you know, Like it's not it's like stuff
- 22:48Speaker 1: that's you know, Reese Witherspoon has like a secret AI
- 22:52Speaker 1: you know, it's like some conspiracy about Reese Witherspoon.
- 22:55Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 22:55Speaker 1: I went deep into that one because like, you know,
- 22:57Speaker 1: how she posts that video for like women learn or
- 23:00Speaker 1: like you're gonna get left behind and there was like
- 23:02Speaker 1: all this backlash from it mm hmm and a lot
- 23:04Speaker 1: of people, and then she posted like, oh, I'm so sorry.
- 23:06Speaker 1: I just meant to be helpful. It wasn't like anything.
- 23:07Speaker 1: And then somebody like a deep dive and like her
- 23:10Speaker 1: brand is like partnered with some AI company or something.
- 23:14Speaker 1: I don't know the details. Obviously it didn't stick.
- 23:16Speaker 2: That's an interesting concept because I do think that technology
- 23:20Speaker 2: is going forward, whether you jump on or not. So
- 23:22Speaker 2: you either jump Onieve.
- 23:23Speaker 1: Reese withersoend is doing us any harm.
- 23:25Speaker 2: That's what my thing is. My mentality with anything is
- 23:32Speaker 2: if you want, if you want to stick with what
- 23:34Speaker 2: you know and not learn what's new or what's the
- 23:36Speaker 2: new way of the world, then you have that opportunity,
- 23:39Speaker 2: But I think not learning it is just a disadvantage
- 23:42Speaker 2: because at some point, like our parents who have refused
- 23:46Speaker 2: to learn certain things because it was too hard or
- 23:48Speaker 2: they don't want to, you know, be a part of
- 23:51Speaker 2: the movement or technology, they're the ones help and if
- 23:56Speaker 2: you don't, if you don't learn it, it's still happening
- 23:59Speaker 2: whether you learn, whether you choose to learn it or not.
- 24:02Speaker 4: If I may speak against miss Witherspoon, this feels very
- 24:05Speaker 4: much like a few years ago when every celebrity was like,
- 24:08Speaker 4: you got to get an NFT and.
- 24:10Speaker 2: That's what she did too, though she was saying that too.
- 24:12Speaker 4: Yeah, And someone on Twitter pointed out that you never
- 24:16Speaker 4: saw this when like no one was like, hey, cell
- 24:19Speaker 4: phones are coming, whether we like it or not, we
- 24:21Speaker 4: need to get used to cell phones, like people just
- 24:23Speaker 4: use them, you know.
- 24:24Speaker 1: No, it's interesting, Mark, do you mind doing a little
- 24:26Speaker 1: hard search and maybe ask is Hello Sunshine affiliated with
- 24:30Speaker 1: an AI company?
- 24:33Speaker 2: I do agree, like I do think there's that mentality
- 24:36Speaker 2: of like promoting something secretly that may but it does
- 24:40Speaker 2: feel like, how in my mind, in the worst way possible,
- 24:45Speaker 2: how do they stop AI at this point?
- 24:47Speaker 4: I mean, you can't I mean like.
- 24:48Speaker 2: The NFT and bitcoin stuff, which I know the people
- 24:51Speaker 2: got that got involved in that early on are doing
- 24:53Speaker 2: really well for themselves with the bitcoin or whatever. But
- 24:57Speaker 2: I don't know what n bits and coin their bits
- 24:59Speaker 2: in their coins. But yeah, I think it's just one
- 25:03Speaker 2: of those things where it's and I also think though
- 25:05Speaker 2: it's kind of like everything's kind of a man's world,
- 25:07Speaker 2: and so I think her mentality is like, don't don't
- 25:10Speaker 2: think that just because men are the ones who are
- 25:12Speaker 2: leading the way that women can't also be in on
- 25:16Speaker 2: what what's going on?
- 25:18Speaker 3: Right?
- 25:18Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 25:19Speaker 1: I just choose to believe that Reese Withersman is always
- 25:21Speaker 1: on the right side of the conversation and I will
- 25:23Speaker 1: not be told otherwise. Mark, did you get an inform?
- 25:25Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean it's pretty different. The Sunshine is owned
- 25:28Speaker 3: by Candle Media, which is owned by an equity firm
- 25:30Speaker 3: called Blackstone. Blackstone is a major investor in AI infrastructure.
- 25:34Speaker 1: Okay, so there's tears here.
- 25:36Speaker 3: There's tears.
- 25:37Speaker 4: Blackstone is going to own all of our homes very shortly.
- 25:40Speaker 2: Here is Blackstone like the Grill?
- 25:42Speaker 4: No, No, they're like a private equity firm. They just
- 25:45Speaker 4: buy up everything. I think they own Zillow, they own
- 25:48Speaker 4: like everything. Oh and they rule.
- 25:50Speaker 3: They're cool.
- 25:51Speaker 1: I was like, yeah, yeah, I know them heatone.
- 25:55Speaker 2: Well, either way, I am a Blackstone. I have very
- 26:01Speaker 2: I fear a world of AI because it's like, it's
- 26:07Speaker 2: sad the loss of human interaction and thinking for yourself
- 26:10Speaker 2: and doing research. But does it have as advantages at
- 26:13Speaker 2: the same time, Yes, it's me too.
- 26:15Speaker 1: I'm kind of on that side, and like you either
- 26:18Speaker 1: like learn and to adapt or whatever. But my fear
- 26:22Speaker 1: is these jobs that they're replacing, what's everybody going to do?
- 26:25Speaker 2: Like, that's that's the question.
- 26:27Speaker 1: What's everyone going to do? We need jobs? What's the
- 26:31Speaker 1: unemployment right now? Well, let's not go down there.
- 26:34Speaker 2: Yeah, let's just's what we know, which is dear bonya.
- 26:37Speaker 3: There we go.
- 26:39Speaker 1: All right.
- 26:39Speaker 3: Here's one from anonymous. I have a mother in law dilemma.
- 26:44Speaker 3: My daughter turned one. We had a birthday party this
- 26:46Speaker 3: past weekend. My in laws are nice people, but they're
- 26:48Speaker 3: very overbearing. They would see us every weekend if they could,
- 26:52Speaker 3: but they live a few hours away, which helps. At
- 26:54Speaker 3: the party, I saw my mother in law kiss my
- 26:56Speaker 3: daughter on the mouth, and my mother in law had
- 26:59Speaker 3: a cold sore on lip At the time, I was
- 27:01Speaker 3: really strict about this when my daughter was a newborn.
- 27:03Speaker 3: But even now I don't like anyone kissing her on
- 27:05Speaker 3: the lips. My husband and I don't even do that.
- 27:07Speaker 3: I mentioned to have a husband. He said he didn't notice,
- 27:10Speaker 3: but now I don't know how to handle it. They
- 27:11Speaker 3: don't watch her alone often, but they do sometime, and
- 27:14Speaker 3: this freaked me out. Am I the crazy one?
- 27:17Speaker 2: No? No, but I need to know. I did not
- 27:20Speaker 2: grow in a house where we kissed on the lips.
- 27:22Speaker 1: I did not, either did anyone else any lip kissers
- 27:25Speaker 1: in here?
- 27:25Speaker 3: Mark's mom is a lip kisser.
- 27:27Speaker 1: Yes, okay, I think I'll be a lip kisser though
- 27:30Speaker 1: in my next era of life.
- 27:34Speaker 2: Why are you? Why would you choose that?
- 27:36Speaker 1: Though? Because I already like lip kiss my dog? So
- 27:39Speaker 1: I feel like, you know what I mean?
- 27:43Speaker 4: Hello, Are you gonna like lip kiss up until like
- 27:48Speaker 4: a certain point?
- 27:49Speaker 2: No?
- 27:49Speaker 1: No, no, no, no, like when they're a baby. Yeah, I
- 27:53Speaker 1: don't know. I'm just I'm just I'm just guessing that
- 27:56Speaker 1: I'm Robbie a lip kisser. No, he's not.
- 27:58Speaker 2: Okay, are you a lip kisser your kids? Okay? Are you?
- 28:03Speaker 1: I also feel like dad the daughters is a little weird.
- 28:06Speaker 3: But even when they're a baby.
- 28:07Speaker 4: No, I've never Tom Brady got a lot of heat
- 28:10Speaker 4: his son. Oh really as a child. Yeah.
- 28:16Speaker 2: Anyway, yeah, to each their own. Well, yeah, I guess
- 28:20Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 28:22Speaker 1: Do you wish? I don't know.
- 28:25Speaker 2: It throws me a little bit personally. Yeah, I don't know.
- 28:27Speaker 2: I don't know, but anyway, you don't know.
- 28:30Speaker 1: I just feel like when you have a baby, but
- 28:32Speaker 1: there's a wage where you just go this, we got
- 28:38Speaker 1: to stop this.
- 28:39Speaker 3: You're like, it's not the conversation here. To each their own,
- 28:42Speaker 3: but how does she deal with it when she doesn't
- 28:44Speaker 3: approve of her mother in law doing that?
- 28:46Speaker 2: I would say, I personally did not grow up in
- 28:48Speaker 2: a in a family where we kiss on the lips,
- 28:50Speaker 2: and your son, my husband and I we also are
- 28:54Speaker 2: not doing that, so we'd really I know it's hard
- 28:57Speaker 2: because she's so cute and and that's how y'all grew
- 29:00Speaker 2: up raising your kids, but I just we would really
- 29:03Speaker 2: appreciate it if you know when you're watching her that
- 29:05Speaker 2: you don't gets her on the lips, just because there's
- 29:07Speaker 2: so much in the air and her immune she's small,
- 29:10Speaker 2: and her immune system isn't strong and we just don't
- 29:13Speaker 2: want to risk it.
- 29:14Speaker 1: I would have my husband do it.
- 29:16Speaker 3: He's got to step up here.
- 29:17Speaker 1: Yeah, I would one hundred percent. I mean, I'm trying
- 29:20Speaker 1: to put myself in this situation. If my mother in
- 29:22Speaker 1: law did that and I saw it, I would be like, girl,
- 29:26Speaker 1: we're not doing that. Like I would totally say that
- 29:28Speaker 1: to her. But she's cool and I'd feel like she
- 29:32Speaker 1: would listen to me. But you have to say it
- 29:35Speaker 1: in the moment.
- 29:36Speaker 3: Law are sensitive though she's gonna be like, oh, okay, Oh,
- 29:39Speaker 3: I guess I don't know anything about raising children. Oh oh,
- 29:41Speaker 3: I guess I'm gross. I guess I'm disgusting that you
- 29:43Speaker 3: know she's gonna be difficult, especially if it as overbearing
- 29:47Speaker 3: as you say.
- 29:47Speaker 1: I feel like in the moment, I would have addressed it,
- 29:50Speaker 1: Like if I saw it happening, I'd be like I
- 29:52Speaker 1: would go in there. But since the moment has passed,
- 29:55Speaker 1: I feel like you have to have your husband do
- 29:57Speaker 1: it and have your husband have the conversation because it's
- 29:59Speaker 1: his mom. If it were my mom, I would have
- 30:01Speaker 1: the conversation with her and he has to just be
- 30:04Speaker 1: firm on that and just be like and.
- 30:05Speaker 2: Don't make it about her personally, make it about like
- 30:08Speaker 2: a cold sword.
- 30:09Speaker 1: But you could pass herpies that way.
- 30:11Speaker 2: No, no, no, no, it's totally true.
- 30:14Speaker 1: Yeah, and like so many people have herpies nowadays because
- 30:16Speaker 1: of that. Can you look it up?
- 30:19Speaker 2: I would just say, yeah, I think your husband has
- 30:25Speaker 2: to say something, and I would, but I agree. I
- 30:28Speaker 2: think she's going to get defensive, so I would just
- 30:29Speaker 2: say her music is not strong. I know your protical,
- 30:36Speaker 2: I know you're proud.
- 30:42Speaker 1: You cannot say that.
- 30:43Speaker 2: I would just say, you know, we're we were not
- 30:45Speaker 2: kissing on the lips, Like, we don't even kiss her
- 30:47Speaker 2: on the lips, So we'd really appreciate if you respected
- 30:49Speaker 2: that boundary.
- 30:50Speaker 5: Yeah, but your husband's got it, got a step unless
- 30:53Speaker 5: you see it.
- 30:54Speaker 1: Again, unless you see her do it and you see
- 30:56Speaker 1: her in the action. I would, I would.
- 31:00Speaker 3: You would not, Yes, I don't think you would.
- 31:04Speaker 5: No.
- 31:05Speaker 3: Yeah, it's awkward, it's not okay, fine.
- 31:09Speaker 2: Yeah, this is your husband's job, all right.
- 31:14Speaker 3: Another anonymous Growing up, I always got my hair short,
- 31:16Speaker 3: but everyone long ever since I met my husband and
- 31:18Speaker 3: we got married. Now we have little kids, and summer's
- 31:20Speaker 3: coming and I'm thinking about going back to something shorter
- 31:22Speaker 3: and easier. When I brought it up, he said he
- 31:25Speaker 3: really hopes I don't cut it because he loves it long.
- 31:28Speaker 3: I was excited about the change, but now I'm torn.
- 31:30Speaker 3: I don't want to disappoint him, but it's my hair
- 31:33Speaker 3: and I miss having it short. Do I take his
- 31:35Speaker 3: opinion new account and keep it longer, Just go for
- 31:37Speaker 3: it and do what I want?
- 31:38Speaker 1: I mean, come on, this is like, this is like
- 31:40Speaker 1: one oh one, Yeah, you do what you want girl. Yeah,
- 31:43Speaker 1: you cut your hair. Your hair, here's a no uterus,
- 31:46Speaker 1: no opinion.
- 31:47Speaker 2: Hey what Yeah, Haley likes my hair darker. But I
- 31:53Speaker 2: just get highlights and say thanks so much.
- 31:58Speaker 1: Opinion about he's oh, you look gorgeous like that. Oh
- 32:02Speaker 1: you look great with that. I'm like, come on, yeah.
- 32:04Speaker 2: No, but I'm just like but she never She's always like,
- 32:07Speaker 2: oh my gosh. But then I'll do it blonde, and
- 32:09Speaker 2: she's like, you look so beautiful, and I'm like, I
- 32:11Speaker 2: think you like my hair lighter. You just don't know it. Yeah,
- 32:15Speaker 2: But I do what I want. Yeah, And Haley does
- 32:18Speaker 2: what she wants. And we can have our opinions on things,
- 32:22Speaker 2: but at the end of the day, it's your hair,
- 32:24Speaker 2: you're styling it. You have kids pulling on it, yeah,
- 32:26Speaker 2: and you don't have kids pulling on it.
- 32:28Speaker 1: It goes both ways too. Like the other day, like
- 32:31Speaker 1: Robbie loves cutting his hair. It's like his favorite pastime.
- 32:34Speaker 3: Oh, he loves his hair.
- 32:36Speaker 1: Yes, in the sink every night, he's like every night,
- 32:40Speaker 1: i'd say four out of seven nights, well, tweaking it,
- 32:43Speaker 1: tweaking it like a little here, a little there, little here,
- 32:46Speaker 1: a little there. It's like his favorite thing to do.
- 32:49Speaker 4: And I'm like, it looks great.
- 32:50Speaker 2: He just hey, it does a great job.
- 32:53Speaker 1: Thank you. I'll pass it along and I'll be like, babe,
- 32:56Speaker 1: like enough of the cutting of your hair. Like I'll
- 32:58Speaker 1: tell him, like, just let's grow it own. Just keep
- 33:01Speaker 1: cutting it. Yeah. I do like a longer. I feel
- 33:03Speaker 1: like it looks more distinguished.
- 33:04Speaker 3: But even when it grows out longer, he's still chopping away.
- 33:07Speaker 1: And it's like, but it's not. He's not giving himself
- 33:09Speaker 1: a full haircut every night. It's just like a little
- 33:11Speaker 1: trim little yeah, like, oh, I'll see like a little
- 33:14Speaker 1: thing here, I'll snip it. I have hair all over
- 33:18Speaker 1: the bathroom.
- 33:18Speaker 2: All that's a big issue.
- 33:20Speaker 1: But it does clean up after himself. He will like
- 33:23Speaker 1: swipe it into the thing and wipe it down and
- 33:25Speaker 1: like you know, like he does. He doesn't just like
- 33:27Speaker 1: leave it, which I appreciate, but like you can't get
- 33:31Speaker 1: rid of hire one hundred percent of hair like that,
- 33:33Speaker 1: do you know what I mean?
- 33:35Speaker 2: I really don't.
- 33:36Speaker 4: I shave in the backyard because of that, because I've
- 33:40Speaker 4: never been able to get it like completely clean, because
- 33:43Speaker 4: I like and my hair is like so coarse and dark.
- 33:45Speaker 4: It's like I use an electric.
- 33:46Speaker 1: Sha shave in the back shave in the backyard.
- 33:49Speaker 4: I have a Wow. My neighbors love this. I have
- 33:53Speaker 4: a magnetic mirror that attaches to like we have like
- 33:56Speaker 4: a pergola out there, and I just go out there
- 33:58Speaker 4: with my electric shaver, put the mirror up, shave.
- 34:01Speaker 1: Should you send me the link to that mareor yes?
- 34:03Speaker 4: Happily I go back inside and that's it.
- 34:07Speaker 2: Wow.
- 34:08Speaker 3: Yeah, fascinating.
- 34:10Speaker 2: If he's doing it at night, he's not gonna go
- 34:12Speaker 2: out there. You're very well.
- 34:14Speaker 1: If I put a mirror out there.
- 34:15Speaker 4: I've done a night except my alex a w ale
- 34:17Speaker 4: light up spotlight.
- 34:19Speaker 1: I'll give it a little spotlight out there.
- 34:21Speaker 4: It's easy.
- 34:22Speaker 1: Wow, thank you for the idea. Easton Welcome.
- 34:26Speaker 2: Yeah, girl, cut that hair. Wait, so we have two
- 34:32Speaker 2: anonymous emails, but they seem they seem like they're from
- 34:38Speaker 2: like the same friendship, but two different sides, which we've
- 34:41Speaker 2: never had before. And we're not confirmed if this is true.
- 34:43Speaker 2: It just feels like that. So we're going to read
- 34:45Speaker 2: those when we come back. We're bout okay, So these
- 35:04Speaker 2: are not from they're not connected, we.
- 35:06Speaker 3: Don't think so. Well. Yeah, I feel like they offer
- 35:09Speaker 3: insight to each other.
- 35:11Speaker 2: Yeah, which I love.
- 35:13Speaker 3: This is the first one. I have a friend and
- 35:15Speaker 3: need some advice. I've been close with his friend for
- 35:17Speaker 3: ten years. I'm in college, but our lives are very
- 35:19Speaker 3: different now. I'm married, two kids. She's single, really wants
- 35:23Speaker 3: to start a family. We find a partner. She's very
- 35:25Speaker 3: open about feeling jealous of friends who already have that
- 35:28Speaker 3: within two hours apartner. With the past few years, I'm
- 35:31Speaker 3: always going to her. I go for her birthdays, holidays, dinners, everything,
- 35:34Speaker 3: but she's always quote too busy to come to me
- 35:37Speaker 3: and gets annoyed if I ask to bring my kids
- 35:40Speaker 3: or if she wants to meet them. I try to
- 35:42Speaker 3: be understanding because I know there's a sensitive area for her,
- 35:44Speaker 3: but it's starting to feel one sided. When I told
- 35:47Speaker 3: her I was pregnant, her response was, oh, I'm so jealous,
- 35:50Speaker 3: and that kind of sums up the vibe. I feel
- 35:52Speaker 3: like she can't be happy for me because I'm putting
- 35:54Speaker 3: in all the effort. What should I do? All Right?
- 35:56Speaker 3: We got that one that was number one, now number two.
- 36:01Speaker 3: I'm about to be thirty three and I'm so single.
- 36:03Speaker 3: All my friends are married in relationships and most have kids.
- 36:06Speaker 3: I've always been proud of not settling and being okay
- 36:08Speaker 3: on my own, but I'm really down about it. I'm
- 36:11Speaker 3: always a single one. I don't know if I'll ever
- 36:13Speaker 3: get to experience getting engaged, getting married, having a family.
- 36:16Speaker 3: I try to channel by Entertania and put myself out there,
- 36:18Speaker 3: but it's hard. Some days. This might sound cringe, but
- 36:21Speaker 3: what I'm feeling especially down. I go back to listen
- 36:24Speaker 3: to Tanya's dating, engagement, and wedding episodes and lists me up.
- 36:27Speaker 3: But it also reminds me I haven't had those moments yet,
- 36:30Speaker 3: and I'm feeling very jealous of my friends who are
- 36:32Speaker 3: starting families. But I feel guilty for having those feelings.
- 36:35Speaker 3: Tanya and Beckett, do you feel this kind of envy
- 36:38Speaker 3: or jealousy and how do you deal with it? But
- 36:39Speaker 3: these could be the same people, well.
- 36:42Speaker 2: Done, wouldn't Yeah, I definitely feel like that these could
- 36:47Speaker 2: be from the same dynamic. You can what are your
- 36:53Speaker 2: what is your take? Should we start with the first one?
- 36:56Speaker 1: Well, I mean, it's like it's like two sides of
- 36:59Speaker 1: the same coin.
- 37:00Speaker 2: So I'm going to start at the first email. So
- 37:04Speaker 2: here's my thought process on this is that you are
- 37:08Speaker 2: y'all are in very different seasons of life. You have kids,
- 37:11Speaker 2: and you have to consider your kids' schedule, your husband's Like,
- 37:14Speaker 2: you're in a very different stage where you're having to
- 37:17Speaker 2: think about other people in your life, specifically especially having kids,
- 37:21Speaker 2: because I feel like they're just on their schedule and
- 37:23Speaker 2: you kind of have to be upon that as much
- 37:27Speaker 2: as you can, especially depending on how old they are.
- 37:30Speaker 2: So having a friendship with someone who is in a
- 37:33Speaker 2: totally different season of life, who isn't making any effort
- 37:37Speaker 2: to really meet you in the middle when it comes
- 37:40Speaker 2: to spending time together or having a relationship with you,
- 37:44Speaker 2: makes it even more difficult. Like you almost need a
- 37:47Speaker 2: friend who you need a friendship even if that's what
- 37:49Speaker 2: she's wanting, and even if she feels jealous, if she
- 37:52Speaker 2: wants to be in your life, like she does have
- 37:55Speaker 2: to make an effort regardless of how busy she is
- 37:58Speaker 2: doing whatever she wants. I think that's in anything though, right.
- 38:03Speaker 1: Yeah, it's like such a weird It's such a it's
- 38:06Speaker 1: such a weird thing because I feel like when I
- 38:09Speaker 1: was single and watching everybody get married, I was so
- 38:12Speaker 1: jealous and it was but not jealous to the point
- 38:15Speaker 1: where I took it out on them, right, Like it
- 38:18Speaker 1: just made me. It was more like jealous sad, Like
- 38:20Speaker 1: I was just like, why haven't I had that yet?
- 38:23Speaker 1: And then also I'm in this stage of life where
- 38:26Speaker 1: I'm seeing like friends get pregnant, and like that creates
- 38:29Speaker 1: a whole different type of emotion in me too. So
- 38:31Speaker 1: it's like all these feelings that she's having are so
- 38:34Speaker 1: normal and I think everybody experiences. But it's so funny
- 38:38Speaker 1: because I just feel like we always want what we
- 38:41Speaker 1: don't have, do you know what I mean? And like
- 38:43Speaker 1: we can never appreciate this season that we're in and
- 38:45Speaker 1: the things that we do have because we're always wanting
- 38:47Speaker 1: something else. So like the friend that has the kids
- 38:50Speaker 1: in the life. I'm sure she's jealous of her friend
- 38:52Speaker 1: who has all of her free time and gets to
- 38:54Speaker 1: do whatever she wants, Do you know what I mean?
- 38:56Speaker 1: Like we're always comparing, and we're always jealous, and we're
- 38:59Speaker 1: always is kind of having those feelings. That being said,
- 39:06Speaker 1: I feel like when you have a baby, especially in
- 39:11Speaker 1: those first few months, your life changes dramatically, and I
- 39:14Speaker 1: feel like as the single person, you do have to
- 39:16Speaker 1: make more of an effort to be there for that friend.
- 39:21Speaker 1: Like when I was a single one in my family
- 39:23Speaker 1: and we had holidays, I always just did whatever my
- 39:25Speaker 1: family wanted because I was a single one, so it
- 39:27Speaker 1: was like easy, do you know what I mean? So
- 39:29Speaker 1: I feel like you kind of do have to take
- 39:31Speaker 1: that on.
- 39:34Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean now, I like, Ali's one of my
- 39:37Speaker 2: best friends and she has a nine month old baby,
- 39:41Speaker 2: and it's like, when I want to hang out with Ali,
- 39:45Speaker 2: I know that I am seeing Ali and remy the baby,
- 39:49Speaker 2: and it's like it's a new season because there's this
- 39:52Speaker 2: added element to it. But I love this season of
- 39:56Speaker 2: getting to watch her baby grow up and get to
- 40:00Speaker 2: be in this season of life with her as my
- 40:02Speaker 2: best friend because she is going through this and I
- 40:06Speaker 2: get to be a part of it with her, you know.
- 40:08Speaker 2: And I also know that I have to focus also
- 40:12Speaker 2: on friendships that are in the same season of life
- 40:14Speaker 2: because Allie's not always going to be available to hang
- 40:16Speaker 2: out with me. So it's like I have to also
- 40:18Speaker 2: seek out friendships who are able to and nurture those
- 40:22Speaker 2: friendships who are also in the same season of life.
- 40:24Speaker 2: And it's finding that balance of both because I want
- 40:28Speaker 2: to be I want Allie to be my best friend
- 40:31Speaker 2: in every season of life, so regardless of how often
- 40:34Speaker 2: I'm going to see her or what we're going through,
- 40:37Speaker 2: I want to be there and experience it with her.
- 40:40Speaker 2: And then also, like I think about Britt having two boys,
- 40:42Speaker 2: and like when we want to see each other, they
- 40:44Speaker 2: just the kids come and it's a new experience, but
- 40:49Speaker 2: it's still so fun because I'm getting to watch her
- 40:51Speaker 2: in this season, and then when the times when I
- 40:53Speaker 2: get to have her and someone's babysitting the kids, it's
- 40:56Speaker 2: even it's so special, And I think it's just kind
- 40:59Speaker 2: of where at that age, I personally have never experienced
- 41:02Speaker 2: the jealousy of wanting marriage or kids, Like I cannot
- 41:07Speaker 2: relate to that at all. Because I always found I
- 41:11Speaker 2: felt very content in my single era and then I
- 41:14Speaker 2: met Hayley, and I don't envy. I don't really feel
- 41:17Speaker 2: envy about any of it. So I I'm having a
- 41:20Speaker 2: hard time with the second email because I I haven't
- 41:24Speaker 2: experienced that. Yeah, but I know that you felt that
- 41:27Speaker 2: very heavily going through like going to like bridal showers
- 41:31Speaker 2: and weddings while you were in your single era, like
- 41:34Speaker 2: really wanting them.
- 41:35Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 41:36Speaker 2: So I think it's just one of those things of
- 41:40Speaker 2: continuing to pour into yourself and love yourself and find
- 41:44Speaker 2: the things that you love and feeling content without needing someone,
- 41:47Speaker 2: because if you have a void, it can't be expected
- 41:53Speaker 2: for someone to fill that void.
- 41:55Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 41:56Speaker 1: And I just want to say, like, I do understand
- 41:58Speaker 1: like the frustration, because I do you feel like there
- 42:00Speaker 1: was a point in my life when I was single
- 42:02Speaker 1: and I was going to every wedding shower, every baby shower,
- 42:06Speaker 1: every this, spending my money going to this, spending my
- 42:09Speaker 1: money going to that, and then I obviously got married.
- 42:13Speaker 1: I want to say say later in life, but like
- 42:15Speaker 1: I don't feel like I guess I did. I guess
- 42:17Speaker 1: I'm like a late late later marrier. Later bride, and
- 42:23Speaker 1: a lot of those people were not involved at all,
- 42:27Speaker 1: didn't eat you know what I mean, Like, didn't come
- 42:28Speaker 1: to anything. I would They weren't even invited to anything
- 42:31Speaker 1: because there was just they hadn't even met my husband,
- 42:33Speaker 1: you know what I mean. Because but I don't put
- 42:35Speaker 1: any blame on them because they got married and then
- 42:37Speaker 1: they had kids and their lives just turned into a
- 42:39Speaker 1: whole different situation. And so it's just like it's just
- 42:43Speaker 1: the nature of kind of how that happens and how
- 42:46Speaker 1: it unfolds and you get mom friends and you get
- 42:49Speaker 1: you know what I mean, Like it just happens, and
- 42:52Speaker 1: so I don't know, I feel like you have. You
- 42:54Speaker 1: can be jealous, but don't let it like.
- 42:57Speaker 3: I think I.
- 42:58Speaker 2: Wouldn't let it as jealousy as much as it's something
- 43:02Speaker 2: that you know that you want, a desire, Like it's
- 43:04Speaker 2: a desire that you want and and you're I truly
- 43:08Speaker 2: believe that when when a desire that that's that strong
- 43:11Speaker 2: is in your heart, that it's gonna happen. But you
- 43:16Speaker 2: you can't rush it, you know. You couldn't Tanya couldn't
- 43:20Speaker 2: rush Robbie. I couldn't rush Hailey like you're just and
- 43:24Speaker 2: you didn't try. I think, if anything, you're a testament
- 43:27Speaker 2: that you can't rush it because it it's supposed to happen,
- 43:31Speaker 2: so I think, and also be there for your friends
- 43:35Speaker 2: who are also in a new stage of life and
- 43:39Speaker 2: make sure they're showing up for you. And if they
- 43:40Speaker 2: can't show up for you as a friend, that in
- 43:42Speaker 2: the way that you need to find friends who are
- 43:44Speaker 2: in the same stage of your life. Yeah, because it
- 43:46Speaker 2: really is important, you know. And it's not saying, oh,
- 43:50Speaker 2: I can't have friends that are in a different stage
- 43:52Speaker 2: of life. It's just, hey, I know I need something
- 43:55Speaker 2: more than they're able to give me right now. And
- 43:57Speaker 2: that's that's the circle of life.
- 44:00Speaker 1: It again the sickle. I can't even picture myself trying
- 44:06Speaker 1: to make like new friends.
- 44:08Speaker 2: Really, I feel like that makes so much, so many
- 44:11Speaker 2: new friends.
- 44:12Speaker 1: Oh yeah, tell me more.
- 44:15Speaker 2: I just we make new friends. I think it's so important.
- 44:23Speaker 2: You haven't made new friends, you have new friends. I
- 44:25Speaker 2: feel like, ever since you married Robbie, y'all have friends
- 44:27Speaker 2: that y'all go on double dates with.
- 44:28Speaker 1: The are his best friends and their wife.
- 44:30Speaker 2: But they're your new friends too.
- 44:31Speaker 1: Yeah, but it's different. It's not like I'm like going
- 44:34Speaker 1: up to someone and being like, Hi, Sally, like our
- 44:36Speaker 1: kids play together, Like do you want to have a
- 44:38Speaker 1: play date? Like that seems so weird.
- 44:40Speaker 2: Because you you, like, realistically, when are you fitting a
- 44:43Speaker 2: new friend to put the energy into in your life?
- 44:46Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying, My energy right now is
- 44:48Speaker 1: really on Barbara Bral Yeah.
- 44:50Speaker 2: Yeah, when you got Barbecue Brawl, Like, there's no time
- 44:54Speaker 2: for new friends, no new friends when BBQ Brawl is on.
- 45:00Speaker 2: But I will say, Haley and I, but.
- 45:04Speaker 1: It's just so funny because I just did a whole
- 45:07Speaker 1: deep dive into all the people from barb you, Like,
- 45:10Speaker 1: there are just all new people. I've never seen these
- 45:12Speaker 1: people of new friends. Yeah, yeah, new friends, all their Instagrams. Yeah,
- 45:18Speaker 1: it's just funny. Yeah, it's a whole new world, this
- 45:22Speaker 1: cheffing world.
- 45:24Speaker 2: I also feel Haley and I have made a lot
- 45:26Speaker 2: of friends that are like when WLW relationships. And I
- 45:31Speaker 2: think it's also really important to have the same, like
- 45:35Speaker 2: the same experience, because there's a lot of things where,
- 45:38Speaker 2: like you, most of my friends can't relate to my
- 45:41Speaker 2: my experience, you know, such as falling in love with
- 45:45Speaker 2: a woman.
- 45:46Speaker 1: Tell me more, just like falling in love is falling
- 45:48Speaker 1: in love.
- 45:49Speaker 2: Yeah, but you go through different things when it's a
- 45:51Speaker 2: woman based on just society, Okay, So like making friends
- 45:58Speaker 2: who are part of the community has been like really
- 46:02Speaker 2: amazing and I don't know, I think there's just but
- 46:05Speaker 2: we have the time for you know, nothing but time.
- 46:08Speaker 2: We don't if we were watching barbecue Brawl, like we
- 46:10Speaker 2: would not have that extra time to invest. But we're
- 46:13Speaker 2: wide open.
- 46:15Speaker 1: Well yeah, you guys have Survivor to watch, so oh.
- 46:18Speaker 2: Yeah, that's true, which I'm sure Hayley's watching at home
- 46:20Speaker 2: right now. All right, we have to wrap it up,
- 46:23Speaker 2: but just a reminder, if you ever have dilemmas, need advice,
- 46:28Speaker 2: want to share something with us, you can DM us
- 46:31Speaker 2: on Instagram at scrubbing in pod or email us at
- 46:33Speaker 2: scrubbing in at iHeartMedia dot com. We love y'all, so
- 46:36Speaker 2: we love you
