- 0:00Speaker 1: 406 News Radio 570 WKBN and Ron Furb.
- 0:03Speaker 2: Till 7 tonight. Hello there. Go ahead, please.
- 0:06Speaker 3: Yes, I was talking before I get to Marjorie Taylor Greene.
- 0:09Speaker 3: I want to, you know, election day is next week.
- 0:12Speaker 3: I never vote early because I'm still doing research.
- 0:16Speaker 4: Right.
- 0:16Speaker 3: And I research all of the new levies that they're
- 0:20Speaker 3: putting on. People seem to complain about real estate taxes
- 0:23Speaker 3: all the time. But whenever they put a new... two
- 0:26Speaker 3: point five bill levy on its yes right across the
- 0:30Speaker 3: board for everybody it it dumbfounds me but uh... i'm
- 0:35Speaker 3: in trumbull county i'm in liberty i called uh... dave
- 0:38Speaker 3: choices office today in washington and one of the local
- 0:41Speaker 3: offices trying to get some information the staff it couldn't
- 0:45Speaker 3: be polite or they were very nice young ladies but
- 0:49Speaker 3: as soon as you started asking questions about policy and
- 0:52Speaker 3: what What David Joyce has done, they just, you know,
- 0:58Speaker 3: refer you to the campaign. They can't answer those questions.
- 1:03Speaker 3: The questions I had with Joyce were if he took
- 1:06Speaker 3: money from AIPAC and if he voted with the Democrats
- 1:11Speaker 3: on the transgender issues that I know he did. But
- 1:17Speaker 3: they wouldn't answer the questions. I talked to two different people.
- 1:21Speaker 3: So I think I'm going to probably go with... Nikki
- 1:24Speaker 3: Frenchco for my congressperson.
- 1:30Speaker 2: How long has Dave Joyce been there? Has he been
- 1:32Speaker 2: in Congress?
- 1:33Speaker 3: No, Dave Joyce has been there a long time. He's
- 1:36Speaker 3: a career congressman. He's only been my congressman since they
- 1:40Speaker 3: redistricted the area here. And they cut down into this
- 1:45Speaker 3: little sliver of Trumbull County.
- 1:48Speaker 1: I think he's been in Congress like 30 years. I've
- 1:51Speaker 1: got to double-check myself.
- 1:53Speaker 2: But I mean..
- 1:54Speaker 3: He's a big... He takes a lot of money from AIPAC.
- 1:58Speaker 3: And that's one of the things that Marjorie Taylor Greene
- 2:00Speaker 3: talked about. She said, we're $ 39 trillion in debt. We
- 2:04Speaker 3: can't afford all of the foreign policy, foreign aid that
- 2:11Speaker 3: we're giving. And the Congress people that she knows are
- 2:14Speaker 3: all putting the domestic needs of you and me on
- 2:18Speaker 3: the back burner. And they're putting foreign policy and foreign
- 2:21Speaker 3: aid first. And then she went in to go with
- 2:25Speaker 3: issues like immigration, seemed to be going on the back burner,
- 2:29Speaker 3: job displacement from AI, which is a very big problem,
- 2:33Speaker 3: she said.
- 2:33Speaker 1: Dave Joyce was first elected in November 2012. So it's
- 2:40Speaker 1: been 12, 13, 14 years? 13 years?
- 2:44Speaker 5: Yes.
- 2:45Speaker 2: Right, so he's been there a while.
- 2:47Speaker 3: Yeah, I think just on the... And then she brought
- 2:51Speaker 3: up the AIPAC issue again. I'm not anti-Semitic. The one
- 2:55Speaker 3: guy's caller the other day said that I was anti-Semitic.
- 3:00Speaker 2: I get tired of the attacks for people on that.
- 3:03Speaker 1: When people are talking about AIPAC, they're talking about a
- 3:05Speaker 1: lobbyist group which has a great deal of influence and
- 3:09Speaker 1: buys a lot of influence with politicians. And to be
- 3:13Speaker 1: critical of it doesn't make you anti-Semitic or anything. It
- 3:16Speaker 1: makes you a concerned American saying, just like you should
- 3:19Speaker 1: be about any lobbyist group that buys influence. You should
- 3:24Speaker 1: be concerned about all of them. And there shouldn't be
- 3:26Speaker 1: a taboo to speak out against one with some label
- 3:30Speaker 1: that you're anti-Semitic.
- 3:31Speaker 2: I mean, there's many people who think AIPAC has too
- 3:33Speaker 2: much power. You're speaking out.
- 3:34Speaker 3: Against the country. You're speaking out against a lobbying group,
- 3:36Speaker 3: not a person individually or a religious group.
- 3:40Speaker 5: Correct.
- 3:41Speaker 6: Correct.
- 3:42Speaker 3: The only person that is not taking money right now
- 3:46Speaker 3: in the Republican Party in Congress is Tom Massey from Kentucky.
- 3:52Speaker 3: The other ones were Marjorie Taylor Greene, who's gone, and Gates,
- 3:56Speaker 3: who's gone. And so I looked up, I said, I
- 3:58Speaker 3: can't believe that every Republican is taking money from that
- 4:01Speaker 3: lobby except one. And there's a, you can track it,
- 4:05Speaker 3: it's called track AIPAC, and it gives you the breakdown
- 4:09Speaker 3: of of every dollar amount that the Congress people get.
- 4:14Speaker 3: And I was surprised to see Mike Rooley got $ 38, 547
- 4:17Speaker 3: from AIPAC. But the big players in Ohio are like
- 4:21Speaker 3: Jim Jordan.
- 4:22Speaker 6: He got $ 243, 000.
- 4:22Speaker 3: Mike Turner, $ 228, 000. They're on the big committees, the Intelligence
- 4:26Speaker 3: Committee and Judicial.
- 4:27Speaker 7: But..
- 4:40Speaker 3: It really disappointed me that all of our Republicans are
- 4:44Speaker 3: not listening to the people and they're listening to our
- 4:48Speaker 3: lobbying group. And it's just not APAC. It's other lobbying groups,
- 4:53Speaker 3: pharmaceuticals and everything. They take money from everybody.
- 4:57Speaker 7: Right.
- 4:57Speaker 1: But I mean, it's it's why you say I think
- 5:00Speaker 1: it's why people voted for Trump. People say, OK, when
- 5:02Speaker 1: are when am I going to get the attention? And
- 5:05Speaker 1: when when will it be America first? And that's why
- 5:09Speaker 1: people voted for Trump. But it seems like Trump somewhere
- 5:11Speaker 1: along the way has a little bit, in my opinion,
- 5:14Speaker 1: lost his way that that he needs to refocus on
- 5:18Speaker 1: America first affordability, inflation overall. energy prices, and deporting all
- 5:26Speaker 1: these people that have come here illegally. You're not hearing
- 5:28Speaker 1: much anymore these days about ICE, about people being rounded
- 5:32Speaker 1: up and showing the door out of this country who
- 5:34Speaker 1: came here illegally. It seems like that's kind of vanished
- 5:38Speaker 1: to a large extent. Listen, get back on the America
- 5:40Speaker 1: First agenda. That's why you were elected. And if you don't,
- 5:46Speaker 1: I think you'll pay a dear price in the midterms,
- 5:48Speaker 1: which is shocking to me because As bad as Trump
- 5:52Speaker 1: can be on this affordability issue at this time, he's
- 5:55Speaker 1: way better than any Democrat choice.
- 5:58Speaker 3: Oh, for sure. Could you see Kamala right now?
- 6:01Speaker 5: No.
- 6:02Speaker 3: What shape would you be in if she was president?
- 6:04Speaker 1: Listen, I don't know how you could vote for any
- 6:06Speaker 1: Democrat because you go right back to the crazy agenda.
- 6:09Speaker 1: Men can have babies and tampons in men's bathrooms and
- 6:13Speaker 1: transgenderism and all this craziness. That's where the Democrat Party is,
- 6:17Speaker 1: the far-left Democrat Party, and higher taxes. And remember, we're
- 6:22Speaker 1: only going to tax the rich. But when they get
- 6:24Speaker 1: in power, they raise property taxes in Virginia. They raise
- 6:28Speaker 1: them in New York. So it's not just the rich.
- 6:31Speaker 1: They tax the productive and want to hand it out
- 6:34Speaker 1: to illegals and everybody else. So the alternative, there isn't
- 6:40Speaker 1: an alternative. Trump and the Republicans are still the best
- 6:43Speaker 1: at this. I just want Trump to refocus back on affordability,
- 6:48Speaker 1: and I want him to focus on getting people out
- 6:49Speaker 1: of the country that are here illegally.
- 6:51Speaker 3: Yes, and I go back to saying that I was
- 6:55Speaker 3: disappointed that he took information from Israel as a government
- 7:01Speaker 3: on the war. I think it was a big mistake.
- 7:04Speaker 3: And what he's doing now, he's pushing the timeline out.
- 7:06Speaker 3: He just today said they're going to reconsider bombing Israel.
- 7:09Speaker 3: and moving the timeline out, I go back too much.
- 7:13Speaker 1: Well, see, I don't understand that because here's the mixed signals.
- 7:17Speaker 1: They keep telling me Iran wants to make a deal,
- 7:19Speaker 1: Iran wants to make a deal, Iran wants to make
- 7:22Speaker 1: a deal. Well, then if they want to make a
- 7:24Speaker 1: deal and you keep telling me that, why you got
- 7:27Speaker 1: to go back to doing more bombing and pushing the
- 7:31Speaker 1: timeline out?
- 7:33Speaker 2: So what's fact and what's fiction?
- 7:35Speaker 1: Is Iran willing to make a deal, or is Iran saying, no,
- 7:38Speaker 1: we're not interested in doing any of this stuff?
- 7:40Speaker 3: Well, therein lies the problem. We got bad intelligence, and
- 7:44Speaker 3: we were told, Israel said, take out all of their leaders.
- 7:49Speaker 3: Take out all of the top people. Well, now we
- 7:52Speaker 3: have no one to negotiate with. So that's making it
- 7:55Speaker 3: more difficult to carry on negotiations.
- 8:01Speaker 1: I would like to see it come to a conclusion.
- 8:04Speaker 1: uh a successful conclusion because you're in it this deep
- 8:07Speaker 1: i mean there's no point in debating whether or not
- 8:09Speaker 1: we should have been there in the first place or
- 8:11Speaker 1: how this got started the reality is it's it's here
- 8:15Speaker 1: now so how do we solve this problem and reach
- 8:18Speaker 1: a conclusion to where things can get back to normal
- 8:23Speaker 1: and we can focus on five dollar gallon gas is
- 8:27Speaker 1: ridiculous but it's not just us i mean you're going
- 8:29Speaker 1: to have major problems as far as fertilizer is concerned
- 8:32Speaker 1: you're going to have A lot of people don't, I think,
- 8:35Speaker 1: pay attention. You're going to have large sections of the
- 8:38Speaker 1: world that are going to have serious problems.
- 8:39Speaker 2: With food and starvation.
- 8:43Speaker 1: You are going to have serious problems in other countries
- 8:48Speaker 1: because of this effort. Like you said, starvation is kind
- 8:52Speaker 1: of stuff. And the fertilizer issue. I was just reading,
- 8:55Speaker 1: I think it was on CNBC or one of the sources,
- 8:58Speaker 1: where recycled plastics are back in fashion because of the
- 9:02Speaker 1: problems in the Middle East. I don't know what we
- 9:04Speaker 1: get through the Strait or whatever is going on, but
- 9:09Speaker 1: But there's issues with plastic and the cost of petroleum
- 9:12Speaker 1: and all of that kind of jazz.
- 9:15Speaker 2: So everything's a mess. Let me put it this way.
- 9:17Speaker 2: Everything is a mess right now. It is just a mess.
- 9:22Speaker 3: Except the market. The market is so resilient. It amazes
- 9:25Speaker 3: me every day. I said, it can't get any better
- 9:28Speaker 3: with this bad news. I said, it's taken all of
- 9:32Speaker 3: the bad news and hit new record highs. And if
- 9:35Speaker 3: you look at Apple... this morning. It's a big pop-up
- 9:38Speaker 3: on their earnings, one of the MAG7 stocks. I sold
- 9:43Speaker 3: out of the money calls on that big information. But
- 9:47Speaker 3: I was thinking of that young fellow that called you.
- 9:49Speaker 3: What do I do? How do I get in the market?
- 9:51Speaker 3: I'm in my 20s. I was just going to tell him,
- 9:54Speaker 3: you want to get in the market. You always want
- 9:57Speaker 3: to be in the market. And you know, for the
- 9:59Speaker 3: long term and just hang it, you know, go through
- 10:02Speaker 3: the ups and downs, and you'll come out okay. And
- 10:05Speaker 3: then the other caller that mentioned the one politician that
- 10:08Speaker 3: was married four times. I thought that was funny. OK,
- 10:13Speaker 3: but Mickey Rooney was married eight times. Johnny Carson was
- 10:17Speaker 3: married four times. They were both nice people. So, you know,
- 10:20Speaker 3: it doesn't your marital status has nothing to do with
- 10:24Speaker 3: if you're going to be a good politician.
- 10:25Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm just reading here the headlines on CNBC. Oil
- 10:30Speaker 1: prices fall after Iran sends updated peace proposal to mediators
- 10:34Speaker 1: in Pakistan. So I hope that that is accurate, and
- 10:39Speaker 1: I hope that that is something that we'll be able
- 10:42Speaker 1: to find agreeable to. And then the next headline, U.S.
- 10:46Speaker 1: oil prices will exceed Iran wartime high to above 125
- 10:54Speaker 1: a barrel as conflict drags on, this Kalishi trader says. So,
- 11:00Speaker 1: I mean, these are the two headlines, one right after
- 11:03Speaker 1: the other. I mean, you are correct. S & P
- 11:05Speaker 1: closes at new records, Tasha, in May as oil prices
- 11:10Speaker 1: cool and Apple rises. Jobs and earnings will dominate the
- 11:14Speaker 1: first full week of May. And then, like it says,
- 11:19Speaker 1: it says oil prices fall after Ron sends updated peace
- 11:21Speaker 1: proposal to mediators in Pakistan. I hope you got to
- 11:26Speaker 1: concede one thing. The people that are calling the shots
- 11:28Speaker 1: know way more than we do. And hopefully they are
- 11:32Speaker 1: close to reaching some type of an agreement that's acceptable
- 11:35Speaker 1: to Trump and it's acceptable to Iran. And we can
- 11:42Speaker 1: get back to working on affordability and get back to $ 2.
- 11:45Speaker 2: 50 a gallon, right?
- 11:47Speaker 3: Yeah, that would be nice. That would be nice.
- 11:49Speaker 1: Yep. Thank you.
- 11:51Speaker 2: Appreciate it. You're on here.
- 11:52Speaker 8: Hi, Ron.
- 11:54Speaker 2: Yes.
- 11:55Speaker 8: Yeah. Uh, It's, you know, when he just talked today,
- 12:01Speaker 8: he said that, talking to the reporter, he said, should
- 12:05Speaker 8: we bomb them or should I wait? I mean, this is...
- 12:10Speaker 8: He thinks he's playing games.
- 12:13Speaker 1: Well, I think he's not playing games. I think he's
- 12:15Speaker 1: negotiating in public.
- 12:17Speaker 8: What is the whole thing when everybody says he's waiting
- 12:20Speaker 8: to make a deal? What deal is it? Well, I
- 12:23Speaker 8: don't know.
- 12:23Speaker 1: I'm reading a headline here today. Oil prices fall after
- 12:26Speaker 1: Iran sends updated peace proposal to mediator in Pakistan. So
- 12:30Speaker 1: maybe by saying, do we start the bombing up again,
- 12:34Speaker 1: it gets Iran to say, okay, let's put another proposal
- 12:37Speaker 1: on the table and start the talks again.
- 12:39Speaker 2: Maybe it moves the process along.
- 12:41Speaker 8: What is the war about then, Ron? Again, I asked
- 12:45Speaker 8: you that question yesterday. If it's the regime change or
- 12:49Speaker 8: is it, and Hedstead said to Congress that we're winning
- 12:54Speaker 8: the war, and they've been decimated, but they still have the,
- 12:58Speaker 8: what word did he use?
- 13:01Speaker 2: The dust. The dust.
- 13:02Speaker 9: The dust.
- 13:27Speaker 8: And it gets upsetting because, you know, so they want
- 13:31Speaker 8: 47 virgins when they die.
- 13:33Speaker 1: You know, come on.
- 13:34Speaker 8: I mean, it's, you know, and Richard's become quite radical.
- 13:38Speaker 8: He really has. He's been talking and talking about today
- 13:42Speaker 8: people not wanting to, people are bums. Like they've said
- 13:46Speaker 8: that me and Emmanuel and that we don't want to
- 13:48Speaker 8: hand up. We want to hand out. I don't want
- 13:50Speaker 8: to freaking hand up. I don't understand. I don't understand it.
- 13:53Speaker 8: And I guarantee you that he paid for his kid's education.
- 13:57Speaker 8: People that are in debt to student loans are paid
- 14:01Speaker 8: for themselves.
- 14:01Speaker 2: What's wrong with that?
- 14:04Speaker 8: I'm not saying there's anything wrong, but he has no
- 14:05Speaker 8: position to tell somebody when his own kids did maybe
- 14:08Speaker 8: pay for it. I don't know for sure, so I'm
- 14:10Speaker 8: not going to make an accusation. And Biden didn't want
- 14:14Speaker 8: people to just get rid of their loans. They wanted
- 14:18Speaker 8: to be able to stop the interest on them so
- 14:21Speaker 8: that they could get..
- 14:22Speaker 2: Well, now tap the brakes, sir. Tap the brakes.
- 14:25Speaker 1: Remember, Biden was forgiving student debt, totally wiping it off
- 14:28Speaker 1: the books.
- 14:29Speaker 8: But we know that that wasn't going to be the case.
- 14:31Speaker 8: We knew that he wasn't going to be able to
- 14:33Speaker 8: do that. Nobody even wanted to give it a second
- 14:36Speaker 8: thought because we were giving something to somebody. But then
- 14:40Speaker 8: you guys say, well, we can't have these young people
- 14:42Speaker 8: like Alec called in and said he can't maybe get
- 14:44Speaker 8: a home because of certain things. I mean, you know,
- 14:48Speaker 8: you can't say that we want to help people and
- 14:50Speaker 8: work for the young people and then we don't want
- 14:51Speaker 8: to give them an opportunity. You know, I mean, most
- 14:54Speaker 8: people that have student loans are people between 34 and
- 14:57Speaker 8: 45 or 50 years old. And those people are professionals.
- 15:02Speaker 6: They're doctors.
- 15:03Speaker 8: They're nurses. People in the medical field, engineering field. And
- 15:06Speaker 8: they can't get ahead. They're not even able to pay
- 15:09Speaker 8: the interest on their loans. And those loan companies took
- 15:13Speaker 8: advantage of those people when they were 18 years old.
- 15:16Speaker 8: And I'm not saying that you've got to..
- 15:19Speaker 1: 425 in the afternoon, NewsRadio 570, Dodie KVN. Ron Furb
- 15:22Speaker 1: from the Kingdom of Mahoning, you're on the air.
- 15:25Speaker 4: Boy, there's a big bunch of topics out there today,
- 15:28Speaker 4: isn't there?
- 15:28Speaker 2: Yes, sir, there is.
- 15:30Speaker 4: Am I, oh my. Well, I hate to... I'm going
- 15:33Speaker 4: to do this. I don't, Trump is not going to
- 15:36Speaker 4: win at this thing with Iran. Already Iran is the
- 15:40Speaker 4: proxy for Russia and China. And all we've got to
- 15:44Speaker 4: say is, look at what he did to us. He
- 15:45Speaker 4: put tariffs on, he took them off. Put them on,
- 15:48Speaker 4: took them off. Put them on, took them off. And
- 15:51Speaker 4: the people that, and when you say lesser government, the
- 15:55Speaker 4: thing that bothers me is now they're catching some of
- 15:58Speaker 4: the people that did huge amounts of fraud because there
- 16:02Speaker 4: wasn't enough people out there to check it. Trump had
- 16:05Speaker 4: no idea what he's going to do here with Iran.
- 16:08Speaker 4: And I can't say that I believe him because he doesn't.
- 16:12Speaker 4: He says he's got a plan, but he never really
- 16:15Speaker 4: tells you about it because he doesn't want to tell
- 16:18Speaker 4: them about it or he doesn't have any. And Iran's
- 16:21Speaker 4: not going to deal with the United States. They hated
- 16:24Speaker 4: us for how long? This was a mess. This is
- 16:28Speaker 4: a total mess. And now the whole world's paying for it.
- 16:32Speaker 4: Gas in England, $ 9 an hour, $ 9 a gallon. And
- 16:36Speaker 4: we're paying, what, almost $ 5? All because of this nonsense,
- 16:41Speaker 4: because he thought he was going to go in and
- 16:43Speaker 4: bully his way through because he did it in Venezuela.
- 16:48Speaker 4: I just, he's got this all messed up. If you
- 16:51Speaker 4: take a look at it, he graduated. His dad gave
- 16:54Speaker 4: him a million dollars. He messed that up. His dad
- 16:56Speaker 4: had to come in and bail him out of a problem.
- 17:01Speaker 4: And then he started filing for bankruptcies on other properties
- 17:04Speaker 4: and stuff. It's just, it makes no sense. And the
- 17:08Speaker 4: Bitcoin thing, up and down, now it's there, now it's
- 17:11Speaker 4: in the negative, now it's in the positive. I don't
- 17:14Speaker 4: see anything happening. And his son-in-law going over trying to
- 17:17Speaker 4: broker a deal with these people. They're not going to
- 17:21Speaker 4: broker a deal with a Jew. They hate Jews. So I,
- 17:28Speaker 4: but every, six months later you hear about where he
- 17:31Speaker 4: managed to get, Jared managed to get a whole big $ 20,
- 17:35Speaker 4: $ 10 million or $ 30 million loan from other countries. So
- 17:40Speaker 4: is he over there talking money, or is he over
- 17:43Speaker 4: there trying to do something?
- 17:47Speaker 1: At any point, do you sit back and say, okay,
- 17:49Speaker 1: let's just forget why it started or whether it should
- 17:52Speaker 1: have or not, because you've got to deal with the
- 17:54Speaker 1: reality that it's here. But do you ever sit back
- 17:57Speaker 1: and say to yourself, okay, it seems militarily... that they've
- 18:00Speaker 1: accomplished a lot. Our military's been very dominant as far
- 18:03Speaker 1: as the skies and the seas and the bombing campaign
- 18:06Speaker 1: and the lack of artillery that's being fired back. So
- 18:12Speaker 1: wouldn't you say that seems pretty successful? The blockade seems
- 18:15Speaker 1: to be working pretty good, and it's putting a stranglehold
- 18:19Speaker 1: on Iran. They're not sitting in a great position. position
- 18:23Speaker 1: right now they they're in serious they got serious issues
- 18:27Speaker 1: as far as their economy is concerned and supplies stand
- 18:32Speaker 1: by i'm gonna stand by i'm gonna come right back
- 18:33Speaker 1: to you i gotta do my headlines and we'll continue
- 18:36Speaker 1: our conversation news radio 570 wkbn 4.35, NewsRadio 570, WKBN, Chile,
- 18:45Speaker 1: on this May 1st, 44 degrees.
- 18:47Speaker 2: So I'd go back and ask you the question.
- 18:48Speaker 1: I mean, I listened to what you were saying about
- 18:50Speaker 1: all of this, and it pretty much is a waste
- 18:53Speaker 1: of time to debate whether or not we should have
- 18:55Speaker 1: got into it in the first place or not. The
- 18:56Speaker 1: reality is we're in it. And would you not say
- 19:01Speaker 1: just based as an American, as you sit back and watch,
- 19:05Speaker 1: it seems our military has done a pretty impressive job
- 19:07Speaker 1: as far as the bombing campaign and and the lack
- 19:12Speaker 1: of military fights, I guess, that you see from Iran
- 19:19Speaker 1: right now, that they've done a pretty good job as
- 19:22Speaker 1: far as that is concerned, and the blockade seems to
- 19:24Speaker 1: be pretty effective, too. I mean, you almost, in your comments,
- 19:29Speaker 1: give me the impression you think Iran is winning.
- 19:31Speaker 2: Well, they are not.
- 19:31Speaker 1: They're devastated as far as their country is concerned, as
- 19:34Speaker 1: far as their military is concerned, and... Their economy is devastated.
- 19:40Speaker 1: They're in a terrible place. And that's why they say
- 19:44Speaker 1: as this goes on, as blockade goes on, it can
- 19:49Speaker 1: bring an agreement. that's favorable to them and to the
- 19:53Speaker 1: United States. I mean, there's a headline I was reading
- 19:55Speaker 1: earlier today, oil prices fall after Iran sends updated peace
- 19:59Speaker 1: proposal to mediators in Pakistan. So just maybe there is
- 20:04Speaker 1: a possibility it's working.
- 20:06Speaker 6: Comment?
- 20:07Speaker 4: I can't see that, because every time they turn around
- 20:09Speaker 4: and say, we're going to do this, they settle down.
- 20:12Speaker 4: The United States ain't going to bomb them no more.
- 20:14Speaker 4: But you're fighting against a country that hates America for everything.
- 20:20Speaker 4: But then on top of that, they're the 11th strongest military,
- 20:25Speaker 4: the 11th strongest military in the world. So we throw bombs,
- 20:29Speaker 4: they're going to start throwing stuff back at other countries
- 20:32Speaker 4: in the Middle East and everywhere. Over a nuclear bomb?
- 20:37Speaker 4: Why does Israel need a nuclear bomb? Why did China
- 20:40Speaker 4: need a nuclear bomb? China got one, then Pakistan got one.
- 20:44Speaker 4: We took the bombs, the bombs come out of Ukraine,
- 20:48Speaker 4: and now Russia's in there just bombing the hell out
- 20:50Speaker 4: of everything. If they had a nuclear bomb, do you
- 20:53Speaker 4: think Russia would try to do anything?
- 20:55Speaker 6: No.
- 20:55Speaker 5: No.
- 20:57Speaker 4: They wouldn't have.
- 20:58Speaker 1: So in essence, your argument, just so I understand your argument,
- 21:01Speaker 1: you're saying, who are we as the United States to
- 21:04Speaker 1: tell another country like Iran whether or not they can
- 21:06Speaker 1: have a nuclear weapon or not?
- 21:08Speaker 2: Is that an accurate statement?
- 21:10Speaker 4: Seems like everybody wants one. And they're just using it
- 21:14Speaker 4: for a deterrent matter, hopefully, compared to God, or any God.
- 21:18Speaker 4: They're using it for a deterrent, because you figure India
- 21:25Speaker 4: and that impacts, they were They were fighting, and they're
- 21:28Speaker 4: still fighting.
- 21:30Speaker 1: All right, so I'm just trying to get a read
- 21:32Speaker 1: on your thinking. You're, in essence, saying, who are we
- 21:36Speaker 1: to tell them they're a different country, whether or not
- 21:38Speaker 1: they can have a nuclear weapon? And then you're saying
- 21:41Speaker 1: that you think that this thing is going to just
- 21:46Speaker 1: drag on, in your opinion?
- 21:49Speaker 4: I believe, yes, it's going to drag on until finally
- 21:51Speaker 4: Trump's not in there, or... Trump's just going to give up.
- 21:55Speaker 4: He's going to say, we won. We didn't win anything.
- 21:59Speaker 4: We didn't win a thing except loss of American soldiers.
- 22:03Speaker 4: And we're in Saudi Arabia or Iraq.
- 22:05Speaker 1: Well, we didn't lose very many soldiers. But, I mean,
- 22:09Speaker 1: from a military standpoint, it's done well. You just don't
- 22:11Speaker 1: think that it's going to work out in the long run.
- 22:14Speaker 2: I mean..
- 22:24Speaker 4: They don't care. But he should have never stepped in
- 22:32Speaker 4: there and done that. It makes no sense. All these people,
- 22:37Speaker 4: what are we fighting over? We're not fighting over the
- 22:39Speaker 4: people that are starving. We're not fighting over the people
- 22:41Speaker 4: that need medical attention. What we're fighting over is a
- 22:44Speaker 4: nuclear bomb. And think of it. If one shoots off
- 22:48Speaker 4: a nuclear bomb, how many other countries are going to
- 22:50Speaker 4: start shooting theirs off? Now we've got a mess on
- 22:55Speaker 4: our hands. And then when Russia goes on to talk nuclear,
- 22:59Speaker 4: he's just rattling his sword like the Pillsbury Doughboy in
- 23:03Speaker 4: North Korea.
- 23:05Speaker 2: All right, so in your opinion, the whole thing was
- 23:06Speaker 2: a mistake from the very beginning.
- 23:09Speaker 6: Yes, sir.
- 23:09Speaker 4: He should have thought about it or got the correct
- 23:12Speaker 4: people instead of the yes people, because when it all fails,
- 23:17Speaker 4: Trump can't take the rap. Oh, no, it wasn't my fault.
- 23:22Speaker 4: People told me the wrong thing, and that's his state.
- 23:25Speaker 4: What did you think about this, Mr. Trump, when somebody
- 23:27Speaker 4: said something? Oh, I don't even know what you're talking about.
- 23:32Speaker 4: And here he's supposed to be what? The CEO? The
- 23:36Speaker 4: boss hog? I voted for him the first time, and
- 23:41Speaker 4: I got halfway through his first. And I said, what
- 23:44Speaker 4: in the world did I take on this guy? All
- 23:46Speaker 4: of a sudden, the debt in the United States escalates,
- 23:49Speaker 4: and it continuously does. It's hurting everybody. I mean, he's
- 23:56Speaker 4: going after things that are going to help people that
- 23:58Speaker 4: need food, medical attention. We're closing down these non-profit hospitals
- 24:05Speaker 4: and doctors' offices throughout the United States. All over the
- 24:11Speaker 4: place because he keeps pulling the money off.
- 24:16Speaker 3: For people that need it.
- 24:18Speaker 4: Luckily, you and I and a lot of us don't.
- 24:24Speaker 4: But what about the ones that can't? And when I
- 24:26Speaker 4: ask my grandkids about who did you vote for, you
- 24:29Speaker 4: know what the first answer comes out of all of
- 24:31Speaker 4: their mouths?
- 24:32Speaker 3: They're all crooked.
- 24:33Speaker 4: They don't care about me. They could care less about me.
- 24:38Speaker 4: They only care about how they can make money.
- 24:43Speaker 2: There you have it. All right. I appreciate your thoughts today.
- 24:46Speaker 2: Appreciate it. NewsRadio 570.
- 24:48Speaker 5: Don't you care?
- 24:48Speaker 2: And you're on the air.
- 24:51Speaker 6: Hello.
- 24:52Speaker 1: Yes. Yes.
- 24:53Speaker 7: Hello? Yes.
- 24:57Speaker 10: We're calling about a rally tomorrow for Hannah. It's my
- 25:03Speaker 10: friend's son that passed away.
- 25:05Speaker 6: She's on her way over here. Can you hold on
- 25:07Speaker 6: a second?
- 25:08Speaker 2: You're calling about a rally?
- 25:12Speaker 10: Yeah, we're calling about a rally for my friend's son, Hannah.
- 25:17Speaker 10: And it's going to be 12 to 4 tomorrow.
- 25:19Speaker 9: Yes.
- 25:22Speaker 8: Hello, Mr.
- 25:23Speaker 5: Romberg.
- 25:23Speaker 7: I'm Carolyn Morgan. I am Hannah Sassi's mother. He fell
- 25:29Speaker 7: and died in hospital care in St. Elizabeth, downtown Youngstown
- 25:34Speaker 7: Mercy Health Hospital. He was told to get up and
- 25:38Speaker 7: practice walking if he wanted to go home, even though
- 25:42Speaker 7: he was on massive blood thinners and didn't have the
- 25:45Speaker 7: strength to do so. They left him filthy dirty. They
- 25:50Speaker 7: left buckets of defecation and urine on his tray table
- 25:55Speaker 7: for days at a time. He was thirsty and wanted
- 25:59Speaker 7: to come home, but they wouldn't let him because they
- 26:02Speaker 7: entered our son at 26 years old into a trial
- 26:09Speaker 7: test study experiment for remdesivir. Ohio got 100 vials of it.
- 26:18Speaker 2: Now pause for a second. When did this happen?
- 26:23Speaker 7: Well, he fell on.
- 26:25Speaker 2: October 17th of 2021.
- 26:25Speaker 7: He fell.
- 26:26Speaker 10: How old was he when he fell?
- 26:27Speaker 2: 26 years old.
- 26:28Speaker 7: He had just turned 26.
- 26:29Speaker 2: And how did he fall?
- 26:43Speaker 7: They left him sitting at the edge of the bed
- 26:45Speaker 7: on the 17th of October.
- 26:47Speaker 2: Why was he in the hospital?
- 26:49Speaker 7: I'm sorry?
- 26:51Speaker 1: You're not answering my questions. I don't know anything about
- 26:54Speaker 1: what you're talking about. Why was your son in the
- 26:57Speaker 1: hospital in the first place?
- 26:59Speaker 6: Okay.
- 27:00Speaker 7: My son went to the hospital because he had a
- 27:03Speaker 7: little bit of upper respiratory, a little short of breathing.
- 27:07Speaker 7: He wanted to get checked out. He didn't know what
- 27:09Speaker 7: it was or if it was serious. It could have
- 27:11Speaker 7: been bronchitis. It could have been anything.
- 27:14Speaker 2: All right, so he went to the hospital.
- 27:16Speaker 7: He tested non-detected for COVID.
- 27:18Speaker 2: So he tested for COVID.
- 27:20Speaker 7: Sorry, go ahead.
- 27:22Speaker 1: Just answer my questions, please. So you're saying he tested
- 27:25Speaker 1: positive for COVID, correct?
- 27:27Speaker 10: Negative.
- 27:28Speaker 3: Negative.
- 27:28Speaker 7: Non-detected.
- 27:30Speaker 2: All right. Then why do they give him remdesivir?
- 27:34Speaker 7: Because on the paper of his medical records, it says
- 27:38Speaker 7: that the result was edited, now detected, after they removed
- 27:44Speaker 7: two nurses from his care. All right.
- 27:49Speaker 1: So based on what you're saying, instead of talking to me,
- 27:53Speaker 1: if you feel that you've received an injustice or improper care,
- 27:58Speaker 1: why don't you hire a lawyer?
- 28:00Speaker 7: Well, we did, and that's why we are having this rally.
- 28:06Speaker 1: Well, don't you think instead of having a rally, you
- 28:09Speaker 1: should hire a malpractice attorney if you feel that your
- 28:13Speaker 1: son got malpractice or was a victim of malpractice?
- 28:16Speaker 6: Oh, absolutely, and I just told that to you.
- 28:18Speaker 1: All right.
- 28:18Speaker 2: Did you get an attorney?
- 28:20Speaker 6: Yes, we did.
- 28:21Speaker 7: And the attorney filed the case.
- 28:22Speaker 4: All right.
- 28:23Speaker 10: Downtown Mahoney County.
- 28:25Speaker 1: So what do you want? Then why are you calling me?
- 28:28Speaker 1: Isn't this a matter for the courts to decide whether
- 28:31Speaker 1: or not?
- 28:32Speaker 7: Well, why we're calling you is because we're having a
- 28:35Speaker 7: rally in front of the hospital down there Saturday and Sunday,
- 28:40Speaker 7: May 2nd, May 3rd, from noon to 4. And many
- 28:43Speaker 7: people told me to call you so that you can
- 28:47Speaker 7: put the word out there or people can hear about this.
- 28:50Speaker 7: Because it's not only my son that fell and died
- 28:52Speaker 7: in the hospital. This happened a week and a half
- 28:55Speaker 7: ago to another person's loved one. They don't put the
- 28:58Speaker 7: guardrail up. The other person fell out of bed and
- 29:02Speaker 7: broke their neck and died and was left to die
- 29:06Speaker 7: on the floor. The same as my son. They did
- 29:09Speaker 7: not lay him back down and put the guardrail up.
- 29:13Speaker 7: They left him sitting at the edge of the bed
- 29:16Speaker 7: and told him he would have to practice walking if
- 29:18Speaker 7: he wanted to get home. He tried to do as
- 29:22Speaker 7: they told him to do. He took a few steps
- 29:25Speaker 7: after he got up and he literally fell. timbered over,
- 29:29Speaker 7: cracked his head on the floor, suffered a subdural hematoma.
- 29:34Speaker 7: The hospital records are faked. They have been adulterated. We
- 29:39Speaker 7: have proof.
- 29:40Speaker 10: Of that for.
- 29:41Speaker 7: Example they said that they resuscitated him after seven minutes
- 29:45Speaker 7: which is a lie because deeper in.
- 29:47Speaker 1: The record you understand i'm not a judge here to
- 29:54Speaker 1: hear to hear your case i Okay, but you're going
- 29:58Speaker 1: on with this, and I'm hearing your side of it.
- 30:01Speaker 1: I'm not hearing the other side and their defense of it.
- 30:05Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 30:05Speaker 2: I mean, there's nothing.
- 30:07Speaker 7: Why don't you promote it? That's the only.
- 30:10Speaker 2: Hospital we have in this area.
- 30:12Speaker 7: Trumbull is closed. Northside is closed. Southside Rehabilitation is closed.
- 30:18Speaker 7: And people are falling and dying in St. Elizabeth Mercy
- 30:21Speaker 7: Health downtown Youngstown.
- 30:22Speaker 2: All right, in your opinion, all right. That is my.
- 30:25Speaker 7: Opinion, and I have the proof. So if you want
- 30:29Speaker 7: to cover for them, too, that's on you.
- 30:31Speaker 1: But at least the people should know. Will you be
- 30:35Speaker 1: quiet for a minute and actually listen?
- 30:37Speaker 7: Why don't you stop being rude?
- 30:40Speaker 2: I don't want to hear anymore. You're on the air.
- 30:43Speaker 9: Yes, hello?
- 30:43Speaker 2: Yes, hi.
- 30:46Speaker 9: I want to talk about local politics.
- 30:49Speaker 2: Yes.
- 30:50Speaker 9: Change always starts local, right? through the local politics. We
- 30:57Speaker 9: have some Republicans that were hired locally. They said they
- 31:00Speaker 9: were going to change things, right? Some of them actually
- 31:05Speaker 9: went down the Mar-a-Lago with Trump.
- 31:09Speaker 4: Okay.
- 31:10Speaker 9: Trump hasn't been up in this area since he was elected.
- 31:13Speaker 9: I don't see any change happening. All I see is
- 31:18Speaker 9: $ 60 million being agreed upon to fix some government buildings.
- 31:26Speaker 9: And this is a very poor community.
- 31:27Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 31:31Speaker 9: I mean, I am Republican, but I don't see the
- 31:34Speaker 9: local Republican politicians doing anything.
- 31:41Speaker 2: You don't see them doing anything as far as..
- 31:43Speaker 9: We're the new businesses. We're the new... I mean, we
- 31:47Speaker 9: had a road on Western Reserve that has been blocked
- 31:53Speaker 9: for a couple years, a Sparkles had to close because
- 31:58Speaker 9: they couldn't get any business. You know, they need to
- 32:03Speaker 9: get involved in things like that.
- 32:06Speaker 2: Okay, so..
- 32:08Speaker 9: I mean, they have talking points just like the Democrats.
- 32:11Speaker 9: They're all in it together, in my opinion. Once they
- 32:15Speaker 9: get into office, they can't do anything, it seems like.
- 32:20Speaker 9: It's just... They're just chasing their tails constantly. We have
- 32:25Speaker 9: a governor who I think is more of a Democrat
- 32:28Speaker 9: than a Republican. And all he cares about are the
- 32:32Speaker 9: AI centers going into these local communities. I mean, it's
- 32:37Speaker 9: a joke.
- 32:41Speaker 2: All right. So what's your solution?
- 32:46Speaker 9: The solution is we need to be honest about who
- 32:50Speaker 9: we're electing. I mean, they say they're going to change things,
- 32:54Speaker 9: but all they say is, I can't do anything about that.
- 32:57Speaker 9: We already agreed upon this money.
- 32:59Speaker 2: Okay, so you're elected to.
- 33:02Speaker 9: Fight these people, so this money isn't agreed upon.
- 33:06Speaker 1: So you think on a local level, the Republicans go along.
- 33:10Speaker 1: You can't tell a difference, basically, you're saying on a
- 33:12Speaker 1: local level, between a Republican that's elected and a Democrat, correct?
- 33:17Speaker 9: No, most of the Republicans are... old Democrats that had
- 33:23Speaker 9: to become Republicans to get elected.
- 33:27Speaker 4: Okay.
- 33:27Speaker 9: I mean, these people would have been Democrats 20 years ago.
- 33:31Speaker 9: But now that public opinion has switched, they're kind of
- 33:36Speaker 9: forced to go that way. But they still do the
- 33:39Speaker 9: same things. They want your tax dollars. Oh, we need
- 33:42Speaker 9: your tax. We still need this money. We still need
- 33:45Speaker 9: this money. For what? To build... To build... more government buildings.
- 33:53Speaker 9: What does that do for the people?
- 33:55Speaker 6: It doesn't do anything.
- 33:56Speaker 9: It's just a, it's, it's a joke.
- 33:59Speaker 2: All right.
- 33:59Speaker 6: So they don't fix the roads.
- 34:01Speaker 9: They don't do anything.
- 34:02Speaker 6: All right.
- 34:03Speaker 1: I mean, you're all over the map on this kind
- 34:04Speaker 1: of stuff. Basically, if I had to sum up what
- 34:06Speaker 1: you're saying to me is you, you can't, you're looking
- 34:09Speaker 1: for a more aggressive Republican that, that you can tell
- 34:13Speaker 1: a difference between their philosophy and the Democrat.
- 34:17Speaker 2: Is that an accurate statement?
- 34:20Speaker 9: Exactly. I just think once they get in there.
- 34:22Speaker 2: They find out it's a battle. All right.
- 34:25Speaker 1: So you're saying where's the fight in local Republicans to
- 34:29Speaker 1: actually change things? You're not seeing it. The second thing
- 34:33Speaker 1: you brought up is Western Reserve Road. And that's a
- 34:36Speaker 1: major project out there. I don't think politicians can do
- 34:39Speaker 1: much about it. If you if you actually looked at
- 34:41Speaker 1: what was taking place at Western Reserve Road, as far
- 34:44Speaker 1: as the tear out and putting in the storm drains
- 34:48Speaker 1: and they had to move the telephone poles and They're
- 34:51Speaker 1: putting in all new infrastructure under the roadway in addition
- 34:55Speaker 1: to the roadway. It is not a project that happens
- 34:58Speaker 1: in the blink of an eye. I don't know what
- 35:01Speaker 1: politicians can do. It simply takes a long time to
- 35:04Speaker 1: fix a road that was in that condition and bring
- 35:08Speaker 1: it up to a better standard.
- 35:10Speaker 2: What do you want them to do?
- 35:12Speaker 9: I agree, but they're supposed to improve infrastructure. To bring
- 35:18Speaker 9: in business. It seems like when they do these projects,
- 35:20Speaker 9: they lose business.
- 35:21Speaker 1: Well, these projects take time. I mean, when I hear
- 35:27Speaker 1: people complain about it, it's unfortunate. I mean, if you
- 35:31Speaker 1: like those particular businesses, they were still available. The road
- 35:34Speaker 1: wasn't closed. You just had to, you could still go there.
- 35:38Speaker 1: But keep in mind, I don't know if that's why
- 35:40Speaker 1: Sparkle closed down. I don't know if that, I'm sure
- 35:43Speaker 1: it was a factor in it, but also Myers came
- 35:45Speaker 1: and there's a lot of competition.
- 35:47Speaker 2: I'll be right back. 570 WKBN.
- 35:52Speaker 1: Ron Furr, back to it. News Radio 570 WKBN. Okay,
- 35:57Speaker 1: onward we go.
- 35:57Speaker 2: You're on the air.
- 35:59Speaker 6: Hey, Ron, I was listening to you on the caller before, JJ.
- 36:02Speaker 6: You guys brought up the name of APEC.
- 36:07Speaker 2: Yes.
- 36:07Speaker 6: And it's kind of funny because I live here in
- 36:10Speaker 6: north at Tabula. And there's a company called APEC circling
- 36:16Speaker 6: around here to get land for windmills. And they're trying
- 36:21Speaker 6: to acquire property to bring these windmills in. And you
- 36:25Speaker 6: guys were saying that they were more of a lobbyist group?
- 36:30Speaker 2: He was talking about a lobbyist group for Israel, not
- 36:35Speaker 2: for windmills.
- 36:37Speaker 6: Oh, yeah, because I was doing research on it and
- 36:41Speaker 6: trying to get all my facts together, I guess.
- 36:45Speaker 4: Why?
- 36:45Speaker 2: Where do they want to put windmills in Ashtabula?
- 36:50Speaker 6: They're going to a lot of the local farmers and stuff,
- 36:54Speaker 6: and they're trying to acquire around 12,000 acres of property.
- 37:00Speaker 6: And from what I just heard is that they pretty
- 37:02Speaker 6: much got it, and they're going to be setting up
- 37:05Speaker 6: an office in Jefferson.
- 37:09Speaker 2: 12,000 acres?
- 37:11Speaker 6: Yeah, and they've just about got it through the local.
- 37:14Speaker 2: That's a lot of acreage.
- 37:16Speaker 6: Yeah, from what I understand, it's going to be a
- 37:18Speaker 6: natural wind farm, and they're going to put them all
- 37:23Speaker 6: together and stuff. The reason this all happened is because the,
- 37:27Speaker 6: Senator in 2017 changed the setback laws from 1,300 feet
- 37:33Speaker 6: from a roadway and power lines and stuff, and now
- 37:35Speaker 6: they changed them to..
- 37:36Speaker 1: I'm surprised anybody could buy that much acreage that it
- 37:41Speaker 1: would even be available.
- 37:41Speaker 2: I mean, it seems like it would be a huge expense.
- 37:43Speaker 2: They're not buying it.
- 37:44Speaker 6: They're leasing it.
- 37:45Speaker 2: Oh, I see.
- 37:46Speaker 6: It's on a lease.
- 37:47Speaker 2: I got you.
- 37:49Speaker 6: And going through our local township and stuff, and the
- 37:52Speaker 6: zoning guy, I talked to him, and they were trying
- 37:54Speaker 6: to put... zoning restrictions on to stop them. But now
- 37:58Speaker 6: come to find out that they're going to the state.
- 38:00Speaker 2: Stand by for a minute. Stand by for one minute.
- 38:09Speaker 5: From ABC News, I'm Brian Clark. What does the future
- 38:13Speaker 5: hold for Spirit Airlines? The Wall Street Journal reports that
- 38:17Speaker 5: the airline is preparing to cease operations on Saturday. That
- 38:20Speaker 5: would be disappointing for travelers like Marcus Stringer.
- 38:23Speaker 6: Spirit has always been the best of them.
- 38:25Speaker 2: I always play spirit, so I don't think nothing that's
- 38:28Speaker 2: better than spirit.
- 38:29Speaker 5: President Trump told reporters at the White House he was
- 38:31Speaker 5: still considering a government bailout. Purdue Pharma has dissolved. The
- 38:36Speaker 5: maker of OxyContin has ceased operations today as part of
- 38:39Speaker 5: a $ 7. 4 billion settlement and bankruptcy plan. The Sackler family,
- 38:44Speaker 5: which owned Purdue, will pay $ 1. 5 billion today and make
- 38:47Speaker 5: more payments over the next three years. No members of
- 38:50Speaker 5: the family have faced any criminal charges for Purdue's role
- 38:53Speaker 5: in the opioid epidemic, which is blamed for over 900,000 deaths.
- 38:58Speaker 5: President Trump's on the road for the first time since
- 39:00Speaker 5: authorities say a 31-year-old man tried to harm him at
- 39:03Speaker 5: the White House Correspondents' Dinner last weekend.
- 39:05Speaker 2: He's in Florida. So they want me to be in
- 39:07Speaker 2: a secure place. I said, what's more secure than the villages?
- 39:14Speaker 5: Getting a warm welcome and speaking before the crowd at
- 39:17Speaker 5: the age-restricted community. As he left the White House, he
- 39:20Speaker 5: said that military strikes on Iran could continue.
- 39:24Speaker 1: So they want to make a deal, but I don't,
- 39:26Speaker 1: I'm not satisfied with it.
- 39:28Speaker 2: So we'll see what happens.
- 39:29Speaker 1: Iran wants to make a deal because they have no
- 39:33Speaker 1: military left, essentially, and they.
- 39:36Speaker 2: Want to make a deal.
- 39:37Speaker 4: But I'm not satisfied with it.
- 39:39Speaker 5: But the military operation, according to the White House, has
- 39:42Speaker 5: been terminated in a letter to Congress on day 60
- 39:45Speaker 5: of the conflict, and that's the point where, by law,
- 39:48Speaker 5: the president's required to seek congressional approval for using more
- 39:52Speaker 5: military force. He called that law unconstitutional. The organization in
- 39:56Speaker 5: charge of the Oscars is addressing AI and its new rules,
- 39:59Speaker 5: saying that humans have to be at the center of
- 40:01Speaker 5: the creative process, but AI neither helps nor harms the
- 40:04Speaker 5: chances of a nomination. You're listening to ABC News.
