Transcript
- 0:06Speaker 1: Hey everybody, this is Anthony Michael Hall, and you're listening
- 0:08Speaker 1: to my friends Brian J.
- 0:10Speaker 2: And Misty on Movie Meltdown.
- 0:12Speaker 3: Don't touch that dial.
- 0:17Speaker 4: It's showtime.
- 0:18Speaker 5: This episode is rated M for Misty. Yes, that's right,
- 0:22Speaker 5: this is a Misty episode, so it will be laced
- 0:24Speaker 5: with profanity even more than usual. If you're not comfortable
- 0:27Speaker 5: with this level of profanity, perhaps this isn't the episode
- 0:30Speaker 5: for you. But we have many other episodes to choose
- 0:32Speaker 5: from that do not feature Misty, and will probably be
- 0:35Speaker 5: far less offensive. Okay, maybe. That having been said, on
- 0:39Speaker 5: with the show.
- 0:40Speaker 6: Our nuclear reactor pumping out one million kilowatts of power.
- 1:10Speaker 5: Five more cooling in the containment chamber. To your stations,
- 1:13Speaker 5: we have a movie meltdown.
- 1:15Speaker 2: That's right.
- 1:16Speaker 1: I'm Abe Froman, the Sausage King of Chicago.
- 1:21Speaker 2: Yeah, that's me.
- 1:33Speaker 1: What's up and welcome to Movie Meltdown.
- 1:34Speaker 5: I'm Brian.
- 1:35Speaker 3: I'm Misty.
- 1:36Speaker 2: And I'm Jay.
- 1:38Speaker 1: And we're coming to you live via digital recording from Chicago.
- 1:41Speaker 3: Actually, we're technically on the outside of Chicago, aren't we?
- 1:45Speaker 1: They always like to nitpick about that nonsense. Is that
- 1:48Speaker 1: a Chicago thing?
- 1:49Speaker 3: We're live from Schiller Park, Illinois.
- 1:52Speaker 1: From the luxurious motel. And we're not plugging these bastards.
- 1:59Speaker 1: From the.
- 2:01Speaker 3: The fabulous place that had a busted-in bathroom door and
- 2:05Speaker 3: I killed a cricket as soon as... I guess that's
- 2:07Speaker 3: bad luck.
- 2:08Speaker 6: It's a motel that shall not be named.
- 2:11Speaker 1: The Waldorf Historia. This luxurious, fancy hotel.
- 2:15Speaker 3: Hey, you know what? It was a lot cheaper and
- 2:18Speaker 3: free parking.
- 2:19Speaker 1: That's pretty handy, actually, in this situation.
- 2:21Speaker 3: No shit. And I was hoping... You know, God forbid,
- 2:24Speaker 3: I was like, a mile. We can do a mile.
- 2:26Speaker 3: Because it's only a mile from the convention center. Unless
- 2:29Speaker 3: it's pouring.
- 2:31Speaker 1: That was the fun return trip.
- 2:33Speaker 3: Yeah, it wasn't bad going there. Yeah, but coming back,
- 2:37Speaker 3: it wasn't like torrential or it wasn't like hurricane. But
- 2:40Speaker 3: it was like a little soggier than I like to be.
- 2:44Speaker 3: My chucks were all squishy.
- 2:47Speaker 2: You had a rain jacket.
- 2:48Speaker 3: Yeah, but that did not cover my feet.
- 2:50Speaker 5: Well, you're just wearing it wrong.
- 2:51Speaker 7: Apparently.
- 2:52Speaker 2: Apparently.
- 2:53Speaker 3: And why, pray tell, would we happen to be in
- 2:55Speaker 3: the Chicago area? I will tell you, we were at
- 2:59Speaker 3: Wizard World.
- 3:00Speaker 1: Hanging out at the amazing Chicago edition of Wizard World. Yay!
- 3:06Speaker 3: We haven't been here for a while. It's been quite
- 3:08Speaker 3: a few years.
- 3:08Speaker 1: It's been a long time for Chicago, yeah. We've done
- 3:11Speaker 1: several episodes from here in the past, but it's going
- 3:14Speaker 1: back a ways.
- 3:15Speaker 3: It has, because it's such a haul. I mean, it's like...
- 3:19Speaker 3: I mean, it's usually far away and it's like half
- 3:22Speaker 3: the time we're like, oh, well, I've seen that person before.
- 3:23Speaker 1: It's usually far away. Sometimes Chicago moves a little closer.
- 3:27Speaker 3: I wish it would.
- 3:28Speaker 1: I said that earlier. I was like, if we could
- 3:30Speaker 1: just like, you know, like lasso it and get some
- 3:35Speaker 1: sort of toe hitch.
- 3:36Speaker 3: Or get that teleporter working.
- 3:40Speaker 1: Well, you know. I mean, it'd be a lot easier
- 3:42Speaker 1: if we could just get that teleporter.
- 3:44Speaker 3: That would make things so much easier. I could get
- 3:46Speaker 3: so much more. I was going to say I could
- 3:47Speaker 3: get much more done, but I'm fucking lazy.
- 3:49Speaker 1: You're not doing anything.
- 3:50Speaker 3: I'm not going to accomplish anything more. I could kill
- 3:54Speaker 3: more time not doing anything and not be late.
- 3:56Speaker 1: See, there you go. That would be a lot easier.
- 3:59Speaker 1: And I do have a lot of stuff to do,
- 4:01Speaker 1: but it would just be more episodes.
- 4:03Speaker 3: I have a lot of forensic files to watch. And
- 4:05Speaker 3: then I'm like, oh, wait, I've already seen this episode.
- 4:07Speaker 1: Yeah, that was really sad.
- 4:08Speaker 3: It's not sad. I didn't listen.
- 4:10Speaker 1: It's like the fact that you've already seen this episode
- 4:12Speaker 1: of Forensic Files says more about you than maybe the
- 4:16Speaker 1: subject of it. Anyway, it's a whole nother.
- 4:18Speaker 3: Dude, they have it on like marathons all the time.
- 4:20Speaker 3: So it's like I sit there.
- 4:21Speaker 1: They have nothing else to play on these channels.
- 4:25Speaker 3: They have a channel called, what's the channel? Investigation Discovery,
- 4:29Speaker 3: I think. And it's pretty much all they show. I
- 4:32Speaker 3: was on vacation this past week. So pretty much all,
- 4:35Speaker 3: this week.
- 4:36Speaker 1: As opposed to most of the week.
- 4:39Speaker 3: Dude, what the fuck are you saying? I go to work.
- 4:41Speaker 3: I work hard, sweaty, swamp ass. It's not pleasant. Trust me.
- 4:45Speaker 3: But it's like, I was on vacation this past week,
- 4:47Speaker 3: so I was watching Investigation Discovery. They have so many
- 4:51Speaker 3: shows about people killing each other. That's literally all I watch.
- 4:55Speaker 3: Killer kids, killer kin, killer this, killer that. And I'm
- 4:59Speaker 3: just like, dude, kids are vicious, dude. There's a lot
- 5:03Speaker 3: of kids on there. I thought it was about kids
- 5:04Speaker 3: killing kids.
- 5:05Speaker 1: Like teenagers or pre-teens?
- 5:07Speaker 3: Oh, pre-teens, dude.
- 5:08Speaker 1: That's even more weird.
- 5:09Speaker 3: Like a 10-year-old, you know.
- 5:11Speaker 1: I mean, kids are creepy, so.
- 5:13Speaker 7: They are.
- 5:13Speaker 1: I wouldn't trust them.
- 5:15Speaker 3: So, yeah, I watched more than my fair share of those.
- 5:18Speaker 3: If anybody ever, like, keeps track of our TV watching,
- 5:21Speaker 3: I'm probably going to be up on a list somewhere.
- 5:24Speaker 1: The one I'm already on for my Googles. I just
- 5:27Speaker 1: type the weirdest stuff in. I mean, sometimes it's legit
- 5:30Speaker 1: for the show because, again, we say a lot of
- 5:34Speaker 1: ridiculous things and half the time I'll Google it and
- 5:37Speaker 1: make sure it's getting into the list the right way
- 5:39Speaker 1: or whatnot. But sometimes I just put weird stuff in
- 5:42Speaker 1: there to mess with them because I know they're watching me.
- 5:45Speaker 3: I put stuff in there because I get curious. I'm like,
- 5:47Speaker 3: what did the crime scene look like?
- 5:49Speaker 1: No, I just put random nonsense in there just to
- 5:53Speaker 1: mess with the Google spies.
- 5:56Speaker 3: You're weird. But, yeah, it's been a long time since
- 6:00Speaker 3: we've been to Chicago. I figured I'd bring it back.
- 6:03Speaker 3: I don't know if we wanted to talk more about
- 6:04Speaker 3: the convention and why we came to the convention.
- 6:07Speaker 1: I mean, there's one main reason we came to the convention.
- 6:10Speaker 3: That's the only reason.
- 6:11Speaker 1: And I told them.
- 6:12Speaker 3: Me and Brian had a specific reason. I think boyfriend
- 6:15Speaker 3: Jay over here.
- 6:16Speaker 1: He had a different reason.
- 6:18Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:19Speaker 3: My reason was Rose McIver was here because she.
- 6:22Speaker 8: I'm scared.
- 6:23Speaker 3: The zombie girl is just so fucking cute and she's
- 6:26Speaker 3: just adorable.
- 6:27Speaker 1: She's adorable.
- 6:28Speaker 3: And it's like, when you talk to her and she
- 6:31Speaker 3: talks funny because apparently she's.
- 6:33Speaker 1: It was a long time into that series before either
- 6:36Speaker 1: of us had any idea she didn't have an American accent.
- 6:39Speaker 3: Dude, New Zealand?
- 6:40Speaker 1: She's like a super genius actress because we were thoroughly
- 6:44Speaker 1: convinced she was from, I don't know, where are they?
- 6:46Speaker 1: Seattle or wherever in that show.
- 6:47Speaker 3: Dude, I totally, I was... Because sometimes people are slipping
- 6:50Speaker 3: and I was like, There was this other show I watched.
- 6:53Speaker 3: What was the other show that I watched? Slashers. And
- 6:56Speaker 3: there's this girl on there, and I don't know where
- 6:58Speaker 3: she's from, but she tries to act like she's playing
- 7:00Speaker 3: all cracker white. But then she starts going, and I'm like, dude, no.
- 7:03Speaker 3: What is that coming out of your face? Oh, that's
- 7:05Speaker 3: not an English accent. That's not even American. That's some
- 7:07Speaker 3: kind of, what's her name? Something McGrath. Katie McGrath? That
- 7:12Speaker 3: could be possibly right.
- 7:13Speaker 9: Mark.
- 7:14Speaker 3: I had to look and make sure she wasn't married
- 7:16Speaker 3: to him or something. I'm like, ugh.
- 7:17Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 7:19Speaker 3: But yeah, I think maybe she's Scottish, maybe, but every
- 7:21Speaker 3: once in a while this accent comes out of her,
- 7:23Speaker 3: especially when she gets mad, and this accent comes out,
- 7:26Speaker 3: and I'm like, whoa, whoa, whoa, back that accent up, bitch,
- 7:28Speaker 3: because that is not right. You are not fooling anybody.
- 7:31Speaker 3: But yeah, adorable little Rose MacGyver. I had no fucking
- 7:35Speaker 3: clue that she was anything other than plain old girl
- 7:39Speaker 3: from Washington.
- 7:39Speaker 1: It was that weird little bumper that they did for
- 7:43Speaker 1: the CWs, or is that what they call them, that
- 7:45Speaker 1: thing now?
- 7:45Speaker 3: What, the CWs? Yeah, CWs. Anyways, I did the whole,
- 7:49Speaker 3: thank you for watching. That's like not at all.
- 7:53Speaker 1: I think we messaged like, because we were both watching.
- 7:55Speaker 1: I think we messaged like 10 seconds later going, wait, what?
- 7:59Speaker 1: Did you hear that? What the hell was that? What
- 8:02Speaker 1: came out of the TV hole?
- 8:03Speaker 3: I'm like, what? So yeah, I had to look it up.
- 8:07Speaker 7: So yeah.
- 8:08Speaker 3: Apparently in New Zealand she's a goddamn Kiwi. We're trying
- 8:10Speaker 3: to figure out if she knows Carl Irving. I don't
- 8:11Speaker 3: know that many Kiwis. I'm assuming they all know each other.
- 8:13Speaker 2: Maybe.
- 8:14Speaker 1: It's like a little neighborhood.
- 8:16Speaker 3: It's not that big of a country, right?
- 8:17Speaker 2: They're all friends.
- 8:18Speaker 3: They know each other. All have sheep together.
- 8:22Speaker 1: Go to Peter Jackson's house.
- 8:26Speaker 3: Doesn't everybody in New Zealand have sheep? I don't know.
- 8:30Speaker 1: Generalizations! Sorry, New Zealand listeners.
- 8:35Speaker 3: I'm not saying they did anything to the sheep. I'm
- 8:36Speaker 3: just saying all New Zealand was sheep farmers.
- 8:40Speaker 2: I mean.
- 8:41Speaker 3: Or beer drinkers hanging out at the pub. Isn't that
- 8:43Speaker 3: what New Zealanders do?
- 8:45Speaker 5: That's most countries.
- 8:47Speaker 3: I know.
- 8:47Speaker 1: That's what Americans do.
- 8:49Speaker 3: We don't have pubs. We have bars, usually. Unless you
- 8:51Speaker 3: want to try to get fancy and hang out in
- 8:52Speaker 3: the fancy parts of town.
- 8:53Speaker 1: Then you have the pub.
- 8:55Speaker 10: Yikes.
- 8:55Speaker 3: But anyway, she was so cute. And she didn't say
- 8:57Speaker 3: much and my head was exploding at the time. Which
- 9:00Speaker 3: is still a little bit on the exploding side. But
- 9:02Speaker 3: I got a cheers. by the way. It was so adorable.
- 9:06Speaker 3: She's like, thanks for watching the show and cheers. And
- 9:08Speaker 3: I'm just like, aww.
- 9:10Speaker 1: She thanked us for coming because I told her it
- 9:13Speaker 1: was pretty much the main reason we came down to
- 9:16Speaker 1: the entirety of the show.
- 9:17Speaker 3: That was the only reason. Honest to God, that's the
- 9:19Speaker 3: only reason I was like, because like any other time
- 9:21Speaker 3: I'm like, it has to be somebody really awesome to
- 9:27Speaker 3: get me to go that far. It's like, hell, it
- 9:29Speaker 3: has to take somebody pretty awesome to get me to
- 9:31Speaker 3: like cross the bridge or something.
- 9:32Speaker 5: Streets.
- 9:33Speaker 3: Dude seriously leave the house you know but yeah so
- 9:37Speaker 3: all day i added her and i've been like stressed
- 9:40Speaker 3: all week because i'm like i kept checking her like
- 9:43Speaker 3: twitter and i'm like all right she is still filming
- 9:47Speaker 3: like on friday.
- 9:48Speaker 1: Get out of canada girl.
- 9:50Speaker 3: That's what i'm saying come on bring it out it
- 9:53Speaker 3: was like literally it was up until like friday or
- 9:55Speaker 3: thursday she was still posting pictures of them like on
- 9:57Speaker 3: set and i'm like either these are older pictures or
- 10:00Speaker 3: she is going to end up not being there. And
- 10:01Speaker 3: I'm going to be super upset. But she was here.
- 10:05Speaker 3: And she was awesome. And she was super cute.
- 10:07Speaker 1: We knew it was safe. Midway, when we were driving there,
- 10:11Speaker 1: you were still checking her feed.
- 10:12Speaker 3: I was.
- 10:12Speaker 1: And she had pictures of her adorably napping on the
- 10:15Speaker 1: way to work.
- 10:16Speaker 3: I'm like, if you are napping, how are you posting
- 10:18Speaker 3: pictures of it? You are a fake napper.
- 10:21Speaker 1: It was a later postings?
- 10:23Speaker 3: I don't know, but she's so cute. It's okay. She
- 10:25Speaker 3: can feel about napping. It's all right. Adorable. What was
- 10:30Speaker 3: your reason for coming on Boyfriend?
- 10:33Speaker 2: The pickled green tomatoes from Super Dogs.
- 10:37Speaker 1: I mean, I got to say, going to Super Dogs
- 10:39Speaker 1: is a good secondary reason to come here. First and foremost,
- 10:44Speaker 1: Kim Minchin's awesome and Rose is super. but when i
- 10:48Speaker 1: was like oh yeah i haven't been to super dogs
- 10:50Speaker 1: in a long time so super dog.
- 10:54Speaker 3: I do adore super dogs i don't like because it's
- 10:56Speaker 3: like i don't like hot dogs so i get like
- 10:58Speaker 3: a hamburger what if the hot.
- 10:59Speaker 1: Dog was wearing like a bling cloth that was made
- 11:03Speaker 1: out of like a leopard skin and he had big.
- 11:04Speaker 3: Muscles i still wouldn't eat him that'd be just weird i.
- 11:07Speaker 1: Don't know i mean you could be friends with him
- 11:10Speaker 1: and You can hang out, maybe? You can hang out,
- 11:13Speaker 1: and your eyes can glow in an evil, evil way.
- 11:15Speaker 3: Dude, seriously, they are. They're pretty frightening, but they're awesome.
- 11:18Speaker 1: If you're not following along, you need to follow our
- 11:21Speaker 1: Instagram feed, obviously, because we took a whole lot of
- 11:24Speaker 1: pictures of the creepy sign, which I love, but it's.
- 11:27Speaker 2: A little creepy.
- 11:29Speaker 3: But in the awesome kind of way.
- 11:30Speaker 5: Yeah, definitely.
- 11:32Speaker 1: I mean, I wouldn't keep taking pictures of it and
- 11:35Speaker 1: be buying T-shirts with the M & Js on there
- 11:37Speaker 1: if I didn't think.
- 11:37Speaker 11: It was awesome.
- 11:38Speaker 3: If I could find it in my size.
- 11:39Speaker 1: We're still trying to pin down the size. But I
- 11:41Speaker 1: have a magnet with it on there.
- 11:42Speaker 3: I got a keychain.
- 11:44Speaker 1: They're awesome.
- 11:45Speaker 3: And they came in the tiniest, cutest little boxes. And
- 11:47Speaker 3: I'm like, oh my god, this is ridiculous. What is
- 11:50Speaker 3: the actual purpose of this box? Because it's tiny. I mean,
- 11:52Speaker 3: they're not going to put any food items in there.
- 11:55Speaker 3: Maybe a cheese curd?
- 11:57Speaker 1: Do they have fortune cookies?
- 11:59Speaker 3: I don't think so.
- 12:00Speaker 1: Hot dog shaped fortune cookies?
- 12:02Speaker 3: That would be ridiculous. Yeah, I wouldn't put it past them.
- 12:05Speaker 3: The convention itself seems like it had grown this year.
- 12:08Speaker 3: But again, we haven't been here for a couple years,
- 12:09Speaker 3: so I don't know when the expansion actually took place.
- 12:12Speaker 3: But it was like, because before it was just in
- 12:13Speaker 3: that one huge room. Now it's in like at least
- 12:15Speaker 3: two rooms, and there might have been more rooms we
- 12:17Speaker 3: just never found. I'm not really sure.
- 12:19Speaker 1: Photo ops were upstairs.
- 12:21Speaker 3: It was all spread. It was so huge. I was
- 12:23Speaker 3: just like, I was overwhelmed. That could be part of
- 12:26Speaker 3: why my head still hurts, but I'm not really sure.
- 12:30Speaker 3: Some celebrities weren't even allowed to peep at certain celebrities.
- 12:33Speaker 3: They were like, don't step around.
- 12:35Speaker 1: That's happened before, though.
- 12:36Speaker 2: That happens.
- 12:37Speaker 1: Sometimes it may be the celebrities being weird, and sometimes
- 12:42Speaker 1: I think they just realize things are going to get
- 12:44Speaker 1: out of control if that many people can crowd around
- 12:47Speaker 1: and stare at them, because that's what happens when you're
- 12:49Speaker 1: a celebrity. People just gawk at you all day.
- 12:51Speaker 3: Like, we never actually saw Bruce Campbell. I know he
- 12:54Speaker 3: was there.
- 12:55Speaker 1: He usually isn't that weird about it, though, because he's
- 12:57Speaker 1: Bruce Campbell. He just doesn't care. He knows he's a superstar.
- 13:00Speaker 1: He's just like, hey, guys, how's it going? I'm going
- 13:02Speaker 1: to be over here writing my name a whole lot.
- 13:04Speaker 2: See you later.
- 13:05Speaker 3: Michael J. Fox.
- 13:06Speaker 8: Michael J.
- 13:06Speaker 1: Fox, you probably need to put a drape around him. Seriously,
- 13:11Speaker 1: there's a lot of people in that building. If they
- 13:14Speaker 1: all were just loitering around over there, nobody's going to
- 13:16Speaker 1: get through. It's going to make a big traffic jam
- 13:19Speaker 1: at the least. It could just get all crazy. I mean,
- 13:23Speaker 1: he's Michael J. Fox, for God's sakes.
- 13:25Speaker 5: He is.
- 13:25Speaker 3: I was surprised he was there. I've never seen him
- 13:28Speaker 3: at a convention around here.
- 13:29Speaker 1: Not in this area. No, they've done a lot in
- 13:31Speaker 1: the last couple of years. For a while, they weren't
- 13:33Speaker 1: doing anything. And then these last, ever since the anniversary hit,
- 13:36Speaker 1: they all did their little get back together and take
- 13:39Speaker 1: a picture. It seems like we've done a few more
- 13:41Speaker 1: of these.
- 13:42Speaker 3: They did have a mini reunion this weekend.
- 13:45Speaker 1: Me and my beloved Leah Thompson, yes.
- 13:48Speaker 3: I didn't see her.
- 13:50Speaker 1: I saw her. As soon as we walked by, I
- 13:53Speaker 1: was like, I saw her.
- 13:56Speaker 9: Oh, Leah.
- 13:56Speaker 3: And Christopher Lloyd, is that his name? Yes.
- 13:59Speaker 1: He was there. I did see him.
- 14:02Speaker 3: I didn't see him.
- 14:03Speaker 1: Very briefly.
- 14:03Speaker 5: There was a lot of.
- 14:04Speaker 1: People in there.
- 14:04Speaker 3: Like I said, my head was mid-explosion most of the time,
- 14:06Speaker 3: so I was just like, couldn't really tell what was
- 14:09Speaker 3: going on a lot of the time. But that is
- 14:11Speaker 3: not the fault of Wizard World as far as I know,
- 14:13Speaker 3: so I can't blame them for my headache. But I
- 14:16Speaker 3: never saw John Barrowman either. He was wandering around, I guess.
- 14:19Speaker 1: He was there, yeah. We saw his table. He had
- 14:22Speaker 1: Tim Tams.
- 14:23Speaker 3: Why did he have Tim Tams? I don't know what
- 14:26Speaker 3: the hell, what are Tim Tams?
- 14:28Speaker 1: They're not from this country.
- 14:30Speaker 2: It's okay.
- 14:31Speaker 3: Yeah, okay. I thought about getting Milo Ventimiglia's autograph, even
- 14:36Speaker 3: though I just probably slaughtered his name. It's probably not
- 14:38Speaker 3: at all correct. But then he had this really weird mustache,
- 14:40Speaker 3: and I was just like, whoa, dude.
- 14:43Speaker 1: It is an interesting look. I think even he seems
- 14:45Speaker 1: to have a sense of humor about it because he
- 14:47Speaker 1: put a big fake mustache on the non-mustachioed picture of
- 14:52Speaker 1: him behind himself.
- 14:53Speaker 3: Yeah, the banner was rocking a mustache.
- 14:55Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 14:56Speaker 2: Though.
- 14:56Speaker 1: Initially it wasn't, and then they put some sort of
- 14:58Speaker 1: furry thing on his left.
- 15:00Speaker 3: Or a caterpillar just wandered up there.
- 15:02Speaker 1: Could have been the case.
- 15:04Speaker 2: That was pretty funny.
- 15:05Speaker 1: So at least he has a sense of humor.
- 15:08Speaker 3: He wandered around for like, there was so much stuff
- 15:11Speaker 3: to see.
- 15:12Speaker 1: That's the way this one always is. Every time we're here,
- 15:14Speaker 1: I'm like, man, this thing is just huge.
- 15:17Speaker 3: But it didn't seem quite as crowded. I guess maybe
- 15:19Speaker 3: because they expanded, they kind of spaced stuff out a
- 15:21Speaker 3: little bit better.
- 15:21Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 15:22Speaker 3: Because it seems like in the past you were ass deep,
- 15:25Speaker 3: elbow to elbow with nerds.
- 15:26Speaker 1: Not that we're not sort of used to that.
- 15:29Speaker 3: But I don't smell. There were some smells today that
- 15:33Speaker 3: I was not a fan of.
- 15:34Speaker 1: And maybe worse than usual. I don't know what was
- 15:37Speaker 1: going on out there, but I don't know. I feel
- 15:41Speaker 1: like I try to give them a break sometimes.
- 15:43Speaker 3: Maybe because it rained.
- 15:45Speaker 1: It's like a wet dog smell, but it's wet nerd smell.
- 15:49Speaker 1: That's not good for anyone.
- 15:50Speaker 3: It is truly not. The lines were way more manageable
- 15:55Speaker 3: this year. Because there's been years when we've come in
- 15:58Speaker 3: and it's just like, holy shit. They've had it like
- 16:01Speaker 3: down the block and down the street and outside.
- 16:04Speaker 1: That's like real world Comic-Con lines. We don't want anything
- 16:07Speaker 1: to do with that. I have no patience for lines
- 16:10Speaker 1: at this point in life or the world.
- 16:12Speaker 3: See, I didn't have to wait in any lines at
- 16:14Speaker 3: all today. And it's like, we even, by the time
- 16:16Speaker 3: we get here around noon maybe.
- 16:17Speaker 1: Something like that.
- 16:18Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 16:19Speaker 3: So, I mean, as I was like noon, they opened
- 16:21Speaker 3: at 10. I'm like, oh, maybe it shouldn't be too bad.
- 16:24Speaker 3: Or maybe a little bit of a line. No, I mean,
- 16:26Speaker 3: aside from like getting through the initial crowd and busting
- 16:29Speaker 3: through trying to figure out where we were going, you know,
- 16:32Speaker 3: there was no lines. There was just, I got a
- 16:35Speaker 3: free button. I was pretty excited.
- 16:39Speaker 1: Your Civil War button.
- 16:40Speaker 3: I did. I got two. Actually, I got another free button, too,
- 16:42Speaker 3: but I don't remember what it is. And I'd have
- 16:43Speaker 3: to get out the look, so that's just not going
- 16:45Speaker 3: to happen.
- 16:46Speaker 1: Yeah, what was that other thing? Was that from the
- 16:50Speaker 1: terrible radio show people?
- 16:52Speaker 3: You got a bottle opener?
- 16:53Speaker 1: Yeah, I got a bottle opener, which I'm going to
- 16:55Speaker 1: take a belt sander to it and grind that lame
- 16:58Speaker 1: DJ's name off of it and then give it to somebody.
- 17:01Speaker 3: Dark chocolate covered cranberry flavored things?
- 17:05Speaker 1: That I'm okay with. Those I've had before. Those are
- 17:07Speaker 1: really good.
- 17:08Speaker 3: I'm pulling that shit off on boyfriend because I don't
- 17:10Speaker 3: like dark chocolate.
- 17:12Speaker 9: Blasphemy. Milk chocolate.
- 17:14Speaker 2: It's fine. I'll eat it.
- 17:16Speaker 7: I was getting ready to say we were before before
- 17:20Speaker 7: we even left the road before we left on this
- 17:22Speaker 7: excursion we were trying to keep like how many Suicide
- 17:25Speaker 7: Squad Harley Quinn outfits are we going to see how
- 17:28Speaker 7: many Jokers I didn't see as many Deadpools as I anticipated.
- 17:31Speaker 1: Yeah you were mostly saying Harleys and Deadpools I was
- 17:34Speaker 1: like are you counting Jokers because I feel like we're
- 17:36Speaker 1: going to get more Jokers than even Deadpool Harley I
- 17:39Speaker 1: don't think anybody's going to touch Harley at this point
- 17:41Speaker 1: because there's a lot of girls that come to conventions
- 17:44Speaker 1: now which is odd adjusting to in the world. And
- 17:48Speaker 1: it's Harley. I mean, everybody in the world loves Harley.
- 17:51Speaker 3: And you can buy the costume as a regular outfit
- 17:54Speaker 3: at Hot Topic.
- 17:54Speaker 1: At the convention. There was a rack of them when
- 17:57Speaker 1: we walked in and like towards the front. Like in
- 18:00Speaker 1: case you didn't already come here in a Harley costume,
- 18:02Speaker 1: go ahead and just put it on right there. It's
- 18:04Speaker 1: all right.
- 18:05Speaker 2: Yeah, there were a couple girls that were there, even
- 18:08Speaker 2: like a couple moms that just had the, the, Daddy's
- 18:13Speaker 2: Little Monster. Daddy's Little Monster shirt. Like you were saying,
- 18:16Speaker 2: it's been released upon the world.
- 18:19Speaker 3: There was a time when those costumes were costumes. You
- 18:21Speaker 3: had to buy them. There were specific costumes or you
- 18:23Speaker 3: had to put it together as a costume. These are ready-made.
- 18:26Speaker 3: Buy it at the mall. It's not a costume anymore.
- 18:30Speaker 3: It's regular clothes.
- 18:32Speaker 1: That's what I said. Again, it was like three weeks
- 18:34Speaker 1: before the movie opened, and I went to the mall,
- 18:37Speaker 1: which I'm prone to do. I don't understand why either.
- 18:41Speaker 1: I don't fit in with those people, but it's still
- 18:43Speaker 1: very homey there. It's a weird.
- 18:46Speaker 6: alluring you go there walk around and realize you're like
- 18:49Speaker 6: oh why did i come.
- 18:50Speaker 1: Here kind of but well it's it's always been that
- 18:53Speaker 1: way with me it's like i i don't fit i'm
- 18:56Speaker 1: not these these pretty pretty people that go.
- 18:58Speaker 3: To the mall so you want to say matthew there.
- 19:00Speaker 1: Is a oh yeah but there is a very homey
- 19:03Speaker 1: quality in the mall like i'm phantom of the mall
- 19:05Speaker 1: and i live in the rapture somewhere and i'm like
- 19:08Speaker 1: yeah time to go to the mall So that's my
- 19:11Speaker 1: experience at the mall. But I still, like, I get
- 19:13Speaker 1: called back there every couple of weeks. And I don't
- 19:16Speaker 1: buy anything. I don't have any money. I just go
- 19:17Speaker 1: there to loiter around and see what sort of weird
- 19:19Speaker 1: things they have out now. And that week in particular,
- 19:22Speaker 1: I saw at least, not just that exact version, but
- 19:26Speaker 1: at least three variations on Daddy's Little Monster. And I
- 19:30Speaker 1: was like.
- 19:31Speaker 3: Did it use different fonts or something?
- 19:34Speaker 1: The Hot Topic one was dead up like the one
- 19:36Speaker 1: in the movie. Then they had an alternate other version.
- 19:40Speaker 1: And then there was another store that had an alternate
- 19:42Speaker 1: different font version. And I was just like, oh, people
- 19:46Speaker 1: don't know. I was like, you non-geeks don't realize how
- 19:49Speaker 1: many of these... shirts we are going to be flooded
- 19:52Speaker 1: with in a few weeks.
- 19:53Speaker 3: Did any of them have it in the Comic Sans font?
- 19:56Speaker 1: Nope. Did you want them to?
- 19:58Speaker 3: Nope.
- 19:59Speaker 1: Would you wear one if it was in Comic Sans?
- 20:01Speaker 3: I would not.
- 20:02Speaker 1: How about Impact?
- 20:03Speaker 3: I would never wear it to begin with.
- 20:06Speaker 1: I mean, what if it was, you know, Impact?
- 20:08Speaker 3: Maybe Gothic Colonial.
- 20:10Speaker 1: All right.
- 20:11Speaker 3: I don't even know if that's a thing.
- 20:13Speaker 1: I just totally made that shit up. Brush script.
- 20:15Speaker 3: Wingdings.
- 20:17Speaker 1: Welcome to Font Talk. Thanks for joining us.
- 20:20Speaker 3: Why was wingdings even a thing, by the way?
- 20:23Speaker 1: Has anybody actually used wingdings in like a sentence? I
- 20:29Speaker 1: guess you could throw one on a flyer somewhere if
- 20:32Speaker 1: you just needed a weird little image, but. In any
- 20:35Speaker 1: normal usage. What's the point of wingdings? I have no idea.
- 20:39Speaker 1: Somebody write in and let us know. So yes, other
- 20:42Speaker 1: than Harley, what sort of crazy costumes did we run into?
- 20:46Speaker 3: We ran into a lot of the gender swappings.
- 20:48Speaker 1: That's true. How many Mistys did we see today?
- 20:50Speaker 2: We had a.
- 20:51Speaker 1: Lot of Mistys. A lot of Mistys. That was my
- 20:55Speaker 1: early count. I was like, okay, I guess I need
- 20:57Speaker 1: to start counting how many guys dressed as Misty there are.
- 20:59Speaker 11: I want to do this kind of buff.
- 21:01Speaker 1: I saw, yeah, the first one was pretty ripped. And
- 21:04Speaker 1: then the other one I was like, he's a little
- 21:06Speaker 1: too good at this. Like, I don't know. So I
- 21:09Speaker 1: got at least three guys dressed as Misty. And then
- 21:12Speaker 1: there was 41 regular girl Mistys. And then there was
- 21:17Speaker 1: the one, as we were hanging out at the food court,
- 21:20Speaker 1: I was like, okay, we're playing the game again. Does
- 21:24Speaker 1: she just happen to rock the side ponytail a lot
- 21:27Speaker 1: and accidentally wore a yellow shirt today? Or is she
- 21:31Speaker 1: trying to be Misty and she's just not very good
- 21:33Speaker 1: at it? I'm not really sure.
- 21:35Speaker 3: It's a common problem we have.
- 21:36Speaker 1: Yeah, sometimes, there were a couple times today I was
- 21:39Speaker 1: just playing the game of costume or that's their life. Like,
- 21:44Speaker 1: I don't really know.
- 21:46Speaker 2: Yeah, it's gotta be anime, right?
- 21:48Speaker 1: Well, then there was that game that you and I
- 21:50Speaker 1: were playing. I'm like, as much as I'm immersed in
- 21:54Speaker 1: pop culture and I feel like, I don't know anything.
- 21:59Speaker 1: But at least I'm a unconscious of pop culture goings-on, usually,
- 22:03Speaker 1: to some extent, more than regular people on the street,
- 22:08Speaker 1: and I get in there, and I'm just like, there's still, like,
- 22:10Speaker 1: once every 10 minutes at least, something will walk by me,
- 22:15Speaker 1: and I'll go, I don't know, you just, there's, you
- 22:18Speaker 1: can't catch up, there's too much stuff being thrown at
- 22:22Speaker 1: you out in the pop culture world now, and I'm
- 22:24Speaker 1: just like, I don't know, something from anime, I can't
- 22:27Speaker 1: keep up. I watch so little anime compared to even
- 22:30Speaker 1: the other stuff that I'm just like, well, just assume
- 22:33Speaker 1: if I don't know what it is, it's an anime
- 22:35Speaker 1: thing that I don't really know what it is.
- 22:37Speaker 2: Yeah, pretty much.
- 22:39Speaker 3: In our previous trips here, we were pretty gung-ho about
- 22:41Speaker 3: taking pictures either with or of the costume people. This year,
- 22:46Speaker 3: there was only one that I was like, that's it.
- 22:51Speaker 3: I need my picture with that person because... Their costume
- 22:55Speaker 3: was awesome. Well, it was a duo costume, and I'm
- 22:58Speaker 3: not going to say that the other half wasn't as good.
- 23:01Speaker 3: But the other half wasn't as good compared to the
- 23:04Speaker 3: first half.
- 23:05Speaker 1: The first half was pretty impressive.
- 23:07Speaker 3: Because I saw there was a Jareth. Again, I'm pretty
- 23:12Speaker 3: sure it was gendered. I'm pretty sure it was actually
- 23:13Speaker 3: a chick.
- 23:14Speaker 1: Well, even more reason. I mean, the first time as
- 23:18Speaker 1: we passed by, I was calling them out going, okay,
- 23:20Speaker 1: you're doing that outfit wrong. Don't you have a couple
- 23:22Speaker 1: pair of socks at home you could shove in there?
- 23:24Speaker 1: Because I'm like, there's a key element to that outfit.
- 23:27Speaker 3: David Bowie's, the crotch of Jareth is like, it's an
- 23:32Speaker 3: entity all on its own. It is like.
- 23:36Speaker 1: But that Jareth wasn't even trying. I'm like, come on.
- 23:40Speaker 1: Even if you're not working with that, you can, it's
- 23:42Speaker 1: a costume. Come on, work with us.
- 23:44Speaker 3: So yeah, the Jareth was. I was pretty impressed. I
- 23:48Speaker 3: was like, holy shit. Because I was like, even with
- 23:49Speaker 3: my head exploding, I'm like, no way. I'm going to
- 23:51Speaker 3: regret this for the rest of my life if I
- 23:53Speaker 3: don't go over there and get my picture taken with
- 23:56Speaker 3: these people.
- 23:56Speaker 1: I've seen a couple of people try to do it
- 23:58Speaker 1: over the years, and usually they turn out pretty bad.
- 24:01Speaker 1: This one, like, they kind of had everything on point.
- 24:05Speaker 1: The hard thing is the hair. Like, even if it's
- 24:08Speaker 1: a wig, a lot of times it looks terrible. That
- 24:10Speaker 1: hair was on. Like, they nailed the hair. They'd done
- 24:15Speaker 1: a lot of makeup, which sometimes they don't even do
- 24:17Speaker 1: much with the makeup.
- 24:19Speaker 3: Were the eyebrows on fleck?
- 24:22Speaker 1: And they did a whole lot of makeup and stuff.
- 24:24Speaker 1: And then the costume was.
- 24:25Speaker 3: I can't say on fleck.
- 24:26Speaker 1: This sounds like crazy girl talk.
- 24:30Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 24:30Speaker 1: But, yeah, the costume was really good, too, and had
- 24:34Speaker 1: the crazy crystal ball. So I'm just like, you know,
- 24:37Speaker 1: points all around on that one.
- 24:38Speaker 3: The ball seems kind of small.
- 24:39Speaker 1: Yeah, it wasn't... To scale.
- 24:44Speaker 3: To scale, exactly.
- 24:47Speaker 1: It's late.
- 24:48Speaker 8: It is.
- 24:48Speaker 3: It's been a long day. We've been on the road
- 24:49Speaker 3: with a five-hour drive, and then there was hours of
- 24:51Speaker 3: walking around, and then we just had Super Dogs, so
- 24:53Speaker 3: my stomach's kind of like, what have you done?
- 24:55Speaker 1: Had a wonderful meal. Thanks, Super Dogs.
- 24:59Speaker 3: No, they're delicious, but there's grease, and it's like there's roast.
- 25:03Speaker 1: That's how you make food.
- 25:04Speaker 3: I know, but it's like, I ate two pickles, and.
- 25:08Speaker 1: Things are getting crazy. Missy has had two pickles.
- 25:11Speaker 3: Not one, but two pickles. I know, right?
- 25:15Speaker 8: But yeah.
- 25:17Speaker 3: Yeah, the Jareth was just amazing. There was a Jareth
- 25:20Speaker 3: and a Sarah, which I'm sorry, but I'm like, there's
- 25:24Speaker 3: only two of us.
- 25:25Speaker 1: You are no Jennifer Connelly.
- 25:26Speaker 3: Not everybody can be Jennifer Connelly. Even Jennifer Connelly these
- 25:29Speaker 3: days can't be Jennifer Connelly anymore.
- 25:31Speaker 1: She's fine. She's just like a mom now.
- 25:34Speaker 5: What are you going to do?
- 25:35Speaker 2: It happens.
- 25:37Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, that's the only one that I was
- 25:38Speaker 3: like desperately needed to have my picture taken with. I
- 25:41Speaker 3: was just like, I was very excited about that.
- 25:44Speaker 1: I was trying to think what other ones we ran across.
- 25:46Speaker 1: There were some other weird characters.
- 25:49Speaker 3: That one thing from Bob's Burgers was there. The girl,
- 25:52Speaker 3: I don't know her names. I've never watched Bob's Burgers.
- 25:54Speaker 3: I was going to be like, I pointed out to you,
- 25:55Speaker 3: but I didn't know if you saw it or not.
- 25:57Speaker 1: Twentina or Louise.
- 26:01Speaker 3: She didn't have bunny ears.
- 26:03Speaker 1: And Tina.
- 26:04Speaker 3: Okay. I've never watched Bob's Burgers.
- 26:09Speaker 2: I saw three or four Velmas. I saw one Shaggy.
- 26:17Speaker 1: I saw several I don't really care what I'm supposed
- 26:22Speaker 1: to be. Because you've had a lot of geeks making
- 26:25Speaker 1: rules and like, oh, you can't dress like this because
- 26:28Speaker 1: of your body type, or the one I was thrilled
- 26:30Speaker 1: with today was like, I don't fucking care what race
- 26:32Speaker 1: this character is. This is the one I want to play.
- 26:34Speaker 1: So I saw a black Thelma. I saw at least
- 26:38Speaker 1: one black Carly. I'm like, good for you.
- 26:41Speaker 5: That's awesome.
- 26:41Speaker 1: I'm like, does your character fucking go with it?
- 26:45Speaker 3: What bugs me is when they so half-ass it.
- 26:47Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 26:48Speaker 1: No, I told you, that's my favorite new option. There's
- 26:53Speaker 1: the ones that are really, really impressive and they're good.
- 26:56Speaker 1: And then there's I barely even tried that I kind
- 27:01Speaker 1: of appreciate. There's a level of like, I almost put
- 27:04Speaker 1: a little bit of half-ass effort into this, but not really.
- 27:08Speaker 1: It's the ones in the middle that just make me sad.
- 27:11Speaker 1: Because if you look like you put a lot of
- 27:12Speaker 1: work into it, And it still doesn't look good. That
- 27:15Speaker 1: just is sad.
- 27:16Speaker 3: But I have more respect for them because at least
- 27:18Speaker 3: they try.
- 27:18Speaker 12: I do.
- 27:19Speaker 1: Like, I respect them for putting a lot of work
- 27:20Speaker 1: into it, but it always just makes me like, aw.
- 27:22Speaker 1: It's like, then you're just like, it's sad.
- 27:24Speaker 3: Like the one.
- 27:25Speaker 1: You tried real hard, sport. Good for you.
- 27:28Speaker 3: The one that pissed me off today was the girl
- 27:30Speaker 3: in the Sally outfit.
- 27:31Speaker 1: That was the one. I was like, way to half-ass it, Sally.
- 27:35Speaker 3: Because she was just wearing the dress. Oh. She couldn't
- 27:37Speaker 3: even bother to take like an eye, like some eyeliner
- 27:40Speaker 3: and like. stencil on some stitches. There was nothing on
- 27:47Speaker 3: her legs.
- 27:47Speaker 1: She didn't rip her leg off and have it trail
- 27:50Speaker 1: behind her.
- 27:50Speaker 3: She just had regular girl makeup on, regular old hair,
- 27:52Speaker 3: but she was wearing a Sally dress. I'm like, what?
- 27:55Speaker 1: I was like, good for you. Wait a half-ass.
- 27:57Speaker 6: I'll tell you the one that I liked. My favorite
- 27:59Speaker 6: one was somebody dressed up as Toad from the live-action
- 28:06Speaker 6: Super Mario short that was put out on YouTube. I
- 28:10Speaker 6: don't know if anybody remembers this, but it was a small, mini,
- 28:14Speaker 6: fan-based film.
- 28:16Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know if anybody's seen that. Because you
- 28:19Speaker 1: were telling me about it while we were walking, and
- 28:21Speaker 1: I'm like... It was awesome because... I recognized just enough
- 28:24Speaker 1: to go, okay, yeah, I see he's going for Toad,
- 28:26Speaker 1: but I don't even know the reference, and I feel
- 28:28Speaker 1: like I've watched a lot of nonsense on YouTube. He
- 28:31Speaker 1: nailed it.
- 28:32Speaker 2: It's an Asian guy.
- 28:33Speaker 5: But he looked.
- 28:34Speaker 6: like the actual character from the hell it could have
- 28:37Speaker 6: been the actual character from maybe it is you might
- 28:41Speaker 6: have been you know i couldn't tell but god i
- 28:45Speaker 6: love that short because i made my kids sit down
- 28:47Speaker 6: and watch it and uh she was like oh that's pretty.
- 28:49Speaker 2: Cool uh but yeah i mean his was awesome so
- 28:54Speaker 2: that was the only.
- 28:55Speaker 6: One i was kind of like i kind of wanted
- 28:57Speaker 6: to say something but i didn't say anything so.

- 29:16Speaker 1: Toad, Toad, he's so cool, he's friends with Princess Toadstool.
- 29:20Speaker 9: Hey, hey, don't catch him, he is not a mushroom. Toad, Toad,
- 29:26Speaker 9: he's the best. Saves the kingdom in the best. Toad,
- 29:30Speaker 9: he's a hero. Fighting with Mario. Saving the world.
- 29:41Speaker 8: It's intermission time so how about taking a break get

- 30:23Speaker 12: In a neighborhood on the wrong side of Chicago, lives
- 30:28Speaker 12: are about to be changed. An English priest is looking
- 30:31Speaker 12: for a parish to bring hope to those without.
- 30:34Speaker 3: Give me a dollar, man.
- 30:35Speaker 8: Get out of here!
- 30:37Speaker 3: You!
- 30:38Speaker 11: In this neighborhood, they'll kill you for your shoes.
- 30:40Speaker 8: Y'all better let me inside before I'm defeated.
- 30:42Speaker 3: It's on me.
- 30:43Speaker 12: To bring meaning to the meaningless.
- 30:47Speaker 8: You could wait all day in this dump and you
- 30:48Speaker 8: won't get a dime for your collection.
- 30:50Speaker 1: No, I'm not collecting it.
- 30:52Speaker 8: You won't hear that.
- 30:53Speaker 1: No place for a minister.
- 30:56Speaker 12: A community is ready to listen.
- 30:59Speaker 9: Go to the people and not wait for the people
- 31:01Speaker 9: to come to you.
- 31:01Speaker 12: To a man who does things differently.
- 31:05Speaker 8: I mean, all this drinking, betting, swearing, all the stuff
- 31:08Speaker 8: they're not supposed to do.
- 31:09Speaker 12: Where's a priest learn to shoot from like that?
- 31:11Speaker 3: He's only been in the neighborhood for one week.
- 31:13Speaker 2: He's already done more good than any Bible pusher I've
- 31:15Speaker 2: ever met.
- 31:16Speaker 12: Father Jim is a man who preaches a different kind
- 31:19Speaker 12: of religion. Well, I'll take the bugger off.
- 31:22Speaker 9: Why don't you shut up, boy?
- 31:24Speaker 12: He became their inspiration.
- 31:26Speaker 8: Huh? It's just a silly little joke, that's all.
- 31:28Speaker 3: There's no real harm done.
- 31:30Speaker 12: But once he'd won their hearts, he'd won their trust.
- 31:33Speaker 8: I bet it all goes straight in his pocket.
- 31:36Speaker 12: Friendship has its own rewards. Dennis Waterman and Roger Daltrey
- 31:42Speaker 12: star in Cold Justice, the other side of Chicago.

- 32:53Speaker 5: Go!
- 32:53Speaker 9: Power Rangers!
- 33:08Speaker 1: Okay, so while we were at Wizard World, I got
- 33:10Speaker 1: a chance to talk with actress Serena Vincent. Now, some
- 33:13Speaker 1: of you out there may just know Serena from back
- 33:15Speaker 1: when she got her start as the Yellow Galaxy Ranger
- 33:18Speaker 1: in a certain little show called Power Rangers Lost Galaxy,
- 33:22Speaker 1: which actually, Rose MacGyver, the other main reason we made
- 33:25Speaker 1: our way to this convention, also started off as a
- 33:27Speaker 1: ranger herself on Power Rangers RPM. So that seems to
- 33:31Speaker 1: be the case these days. A lot of actors are
- 33:33Speaker 1: using Power Rangers as a way to launch their careers.
- 33:37Speaker 1: Sounds like a good plan to me. But aside from that,
- 33:40Speaker 1: for movie geeks like us, you may also know Serena
- 33:42Speaker 1: from a very memorable role in Not Another Teen Movie,
- 33:46Speaker 1: and horror fans may remember her from Cabin Fever, Return
- 33:48Speaker 1: to House on Haunted Hill, or It Waits. But these days,
- 33:51Speaker 1: Serena is playing the slightly overwhelmed mom, Suzy Diaz, on
- 33:55Speaker 1: Disney's series Stuck in the Middle. So now, let's find
- 33:57Speaker 1: out a little on how Serena got involved in the business,
- 34:00Speaker 1: and some of her experiences along the way. I usually
- 34:05Speaker 1: try to get in early and see how people got
- 34:07Speaker 1: involved in the entertainment industry.
- 34:08Speaker 11: You were from Vegas originally?
- 34:11Speaker 4: Yeah, I was born and raised in Las Vegas.
- 34:14Speaker 10: So it's like kind of growing up in a small town,
- 34:17Speaker 10: but you can get anything you want any time of day.
- 34:19Speaker 1: I mean, that's its own weird version of the entertainment industry,
- 34:23Speaker 1: especially then. They've kind of changed it now, but I
- 34:26Speaker 1: guess how was it growing up in the middle of that?
- 34:28Speaker 4: No, I had really humble upbringings.
- 34:31Speaker 12: Like, I.
- 34:32Speaker 10: Basically grew up a desert kid, riding four-wheelers in the desert.
- 34:36Speaker 10: My mom was a dance teacher, so we had a
- 34:38Speaker 10: dance studio in the back of our house. So I
- 34:40Speaker 10: grew up singing and dancing and making up plays and
- 34:43Speaker 10: all that kind of stuff. And so the lights and
- 34:47Speaker 10: the strip and all of that part of Vegas isn't really...
- 34:51Speaker 10: And the gambling wasn't a part of my life at all.
- 34:54Speaker 10: Neither of my parents worked in the casino industry. And
- 34:58Speaker 10: it's sort of like for tourists. You don't hang out
- 35:01Speaker 10: on the strip, you know, as a 12-year-old kid.
- 35:03Speaker 1: It's like normal people that live in Orlando. It's not
- 35:06Speaker 1: part of your life to go to Disney.
- 35:08Speaker 4: Exactly.
- 35:09Speaker 1: Well, then I guess, so was it the dance that
- 35:11Speaker 1: definitely planted the seed and got you involved in performance overall?
- 35:15Speaker 4: Yeah, I think so.
- 35:16Speaker 10: That led into, I did a lot of musicals and
- 35:19Speaker 10: musical theater and.
- 35:22Speaker 10: In community theater in Vegas and high school and as
- 35:27Speaker 10: part of a theater ensemble.
- 35:28Speaker 4: So I was really like in it for the theater.
- 35:33Speaker 1: And you, I guess, got into, because I've talked to
- 35:36Speaker 1: a few people that got in through pageants and that.
- 35:39Speaker 1: Was that something you were interested in or was it
- 35:42Speaker 1: just something that became a stepping stone?
- 35:44Speaker 10: I always wanted to be in Miss, like do the
- 35:48Speaker 10: Miss Teen USA, Miss Nevada Teen Pageants.
- 35:51Speaker 4: And my parents said, no, those things are rigged and
- 35:55Speaker 4: it's expensive.
- 35:56Speaker 10: So I, they went out of town and I raised
- 36:00Speaker 10: all the money myself and I bought.
- 36:01Speaker 4: A dress and I entered and I won. And then
- 36:04Speaker 4: I went on to Miss Teen USA.
- 36:06Speaker 10: And after that wasn't like a really crazy experience for me.
- 36:10Speaker 10: And I wasn't interested in doing any more pageants after that,
- 36:13Speaker 10: but it did sort of like open my mind to
- 36:16Speaker 10: like television.
- 36:17Speaker 4: And it was after that I moved to LA and
- 36:19Speaker 4: started acting.
- 36:20Speaker 8: That was.
- 36:20Speaker 11: I mean, it was just out of high school, moved
- 36:23Speaker 11: to L.A. with no real contacts. Was it one of those?
- 36:25Speaker 9: None.
- 36:26Speaker 10: I just piled all my stuff in my car. I
- 36:30Speaker 10: started college at Marymount College. I lived in the dorms.
- 36:33Speaker 10: I had no money.
- 36:33Speaker 4: I didn't know anyone.
- 36:35Speaker 10: And I got an agent just miraculously within the first
- 36:38Speaker 10: couple weeks I lived there and started auditioning and worked.
- 36:41Speaker 11: Good luck, guys.
- 36:43Speaker 1: So I guess as you went into film, had you
- 36:46Speaker 1: always been kind of a movie fan growing up?
- 36:49Speaker 3: Um.
- 36:49Speaker 4: Yeah, I grew up watching.
- 36:51Speaker 10: Like, I was obsessed with, like, Ghostbusters and Indiana Jones
- 36:56Speaker 10: and some of my favorite Jaws and some of my
- 37:00Speaker 10: favorite movies.
- 37:01Speaker 11: And sitcom.
- 37:02Speaker 4: Like, I loved.
- 37:04Speaker 9: I loved.
- 37:05Speaker 4: I Love Lucy, and Who's the Boss? All those fun shows. And, yeah,
- 37:14Speaker 4: I didn't really.
- 37:14Speaker 10: I thought that people that were on TV and in
- 37:16Speaker 10: movies lived on a different planet, and I never thought
- 37:19Speaker 10: I would... I didn't even know how one would create
- 37:22Speaker 10: a career in this business, but it happened.
- 37:25Speaker 11: Yeah, I mean, it is one of those.
- 37:26Speaker 1: Some people are super strategic about it, and then sometimes
- 37:29Speaker 1: you just go into the acting, and it works.
- 37:32Speaker 11: So, yeah, it's... It's strategic. I.
- 37:35Speaker 10: I definitely am driven, and, like, I can see something,
- 37:40Speaker 10: and then however many years later it happens, which is crazy, you.
- 37:45Speaker 1: Know, but.
- 37:46Speaker 3: I.
- 37:48Speaker 11: Mean, definitely you are.
- 37:49Speaker 4: This is sort of, like, slowed, like, I think some people, like,
- 37:53Speaker 4: have set plans. They have, like, five-year plans. I'm not
- 37:55Speaker 4: one of those people.
- 37:56Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, of all the different stuff, like, getting
- 37:58Speaker 1: into Power Rangers and then getting involved in, like, horror movies, like,
- 38:01Speaker 1: you kind of just used... What came along and found
- 38:04Speaker 1: the best parts of it, yeah. Were you a big
- 38:07Speaker 1: horror fan or was that not a fun experience?
- 38:10Speaker 4: Well, yeah, I grew up watching Jaws and all those
- 38:12Speaker 4: great movies.
- 38:13Speaker 10: So I am a big horror fan and I feel
- 38:16Speaker 10: honored that I get to be in the horror genre community.
- 38:20Speaker 1: Different experience once you're behind the camera and dealing with
- 38:23Speaker 1: all the prosthetics.
- 38:25Speaker 4: Yeah, it's fun. Horror movies are totally different than anything else.
- 38:29Speaker 4: It's a good time. And now we're on a Disney show.
- 38:32Speaker 11: That's what I was going to say.
- 38:33Speaker 1: And I watch the Disney channel more than a so-called
- 38:36Speaker 1: adult should. And I've watched all of Stuck in the
- 38:38Speaker 1: Middle and it's amazing how well, because I went in
- 38:42Speaker 1: kind of not sure what this was going to be
- 38:43Speaker 1: and how well put together these characters are and how,
- 38:47Speaker 1: what a great representation of family this is.
- 38:50Speaker 11: And all of it's really well done.
- 38:52Speaker 4: Thank you. That means the world.
- 38:53Speaker 10: We have some incredible writers. It's a really hard show
- 38:56Speaker 10: to write. There's a lot of, it's a big cast
- 38:58Speaker 10: and We have an incredible showrunner, incredible writers, and I
- 39:02Speaker 10: feel so grateful to be a part of it.
- 39:04Speaker 4: It's a really fun role for me. It's totally different.
- 39:07Speaker 10: It's what, again, something that I wanted, I saw myself doing,
- 39:11Speaker 10: but I wouldn't quite.
- 39:12Speaker 4: Know how to get there.
- 39:13Speaker 10: And so I just sort of let it go, and
- 39:15Speaker 10: it came, and I love it.
- 39:18Speaker 4: And I love my TV kids.
- 39:19Speaker 1: And it's cool to kind of see you in a
- 39:21Speaker 1: totally different role, like having been in horror and all
- 39:24Speaker 1: this other stuff and now have to play a mom.
- 39:26Speaker 11: And like, that's a whole different challenge right there.
- 39:28Speaker 4: Yeah, it is.
- 39:29Speaker 10: It's a part of me that most people don't know
- 39:33Speaker 10: from my other work, but I do have a really
- 39:35Speaker 10: big maternal side and nurturing side and kooky, silly side
- 39:40Speaker 10: that I haven't gotten to explore in my work until
- 39:45Speaker 10: this role.
- 39:46Speaker 4: So I feel grateful.
- 39:48Speaker 1: I thought it was an interesting setup now that you're
- 39:50Speaker 1: also working with all these young actresses that are in
- 39:53Speaker 1: a position.
- 39:53Speaker 11: Where you were at one point a little younger even
- 39:55Speaker 11: than you. I tell them all the time.
- 39:57Speaker 4: I tell them all the time. You'll understand when you're
- 40:00Speaker 4: a TV mom. When you're a TV mom, you'll understand.
- 40:04Speaker 11: You just wait. It's coming.
- 40:06Speaker 4: I think it's funny. They think I'm so dorky and silly.
- 40:09Speaker 11: Didn't you understand I was a Power Ranger?
- 40:11Speaker 4: Yeah. That works well with the boys. The boys like that.
- 40:15Speaker 11: I would think, yeah, especially the two little ones.
- 40:17Speaker 8: Exactly.
- 40:18Speaker 1: All right.
- 40:18Speaker 11: And then you just want to plug the show? Tell
- 40:20Speaker 11: everybody to watch Stuck.
- 40:21Speaker 1: In the Middle?
- 40:21Speaker 9: Please.
- 40:22Speaker 10: Yeah. Follow me at Serena Vincent on Instagram and Twitter
- 40:25Speaker 10: and watch Stuck.
- 40:26Speaker 1: In the Middle on Disney.
- 40:28Speaker 11: I endorse it. It's a great show. Thank you.
- 40:30Speaker 9: Sometimes it feels like things are out of control.
- 40:51Speaker 11: So thank you once again to Serena for talking with me.
- 40:53Speaker 1: It's always kind of crazy trying to have a conversation
- 40:56Speaker 1: at these events, so I'm glad we could at least
- 40:58Speaker 1: get a chance to talk for a few minutes and
- 41:01Speaker 1: definitely check out Stuck in the Middle. I've said it before,
- 41:04Speaker 1: I think Disney has really stepped it up over the
- 41:06Speaker 1: years and is now putting together shows that are better
- 41:09Speaker 1: written than a lot of stuff on network TV. So
- 41:11Speaker 1: check it out, it's got great characters and a really
- 41:14Speaker 1: impressive cast of young actors. Alright, so now let's get
- 41:17Speaker 1: back to our sleepy time discussion. Yes, this is why
- 41:21Speaker 1: you don't let your cast members lay down on the
- 41:23Speaker 1: bed when they record. Oh well, it's been a great
- 41:26Speaker 1: road trip, so let's get back into it.
- 41:29Speaker 5: It's part of your problem, you know, you haven't seen
- 41:31Speaker 5: enough movies.
- 41:32Speaker 8: All of life's riddles are answered in the movies. And now,
- 41:36Speaker 8: on with the show.
- 41:44Speaker 9: We'll be right back.
- 42:08Speaker 3: We did get a free autograph today. Well, me and
- 42:10Speaker 3: Brian did. You are not one for free things, so.
- 42:14Speaker 2: I didn't feel like talking to anybody.
- 42:16Speaker 3: I didn't really talk. I mean, at one time, you know,
- 42:18Speaker 3: I made very small talk and then I got his
- 42:21Speaker 3: autograph and then walked away.
- 42:22Speaker 2: I didn't feel like carrying stuff.
- 42:24Speaker 3: But it was free!
- 42:25Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 42:27Speaker 2: Sometimes I just don't feel like having to deal with anybody.
- 42:30Speaker 3: But it was Ben England, apparently the creator of The Tick.
- 42:35Speaker 5: The Tick.
- 42:35Speaker 3: And apparently, I mean, like, several other things. He actually
- 42:38Speaker 3: wrote some TV episodes. Like, he wrote on Angel, Firefly, and, like,
- 42:44Speaker 3: a lot of other, like, shows he had had a
- 42:47Speaker 3: part in. I was impressed. I was like, dude, sign
- 42:49Speaker 3: in for free. I'm like, I'll go. I'll get out.
- 42:51Speaker 1: Well, they've got the new series coming into the mix now.
- 42:55Speaker 3: Yeah, the pilot was on last night.
- 42:57Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 42:58Speaker 2: Is it, what's his name playing the tape?
- 43:00Speaker 8: No.
- 43:01Speaker 1: Oh, well. I agree that's troubling, but The Tick's stronger
- 43:08Speaker 1: than that. The Tick was an amazing animated series. And
- 43:15Speaker 1: if you would ask me, do you want to turn
- 43:17Speaker 1: it into a live action goofy sitcom? I would be like, God, no,
- 43:20Speaker 1: don't do that. And then that was awesome too. So
- 43:22Speaker 1: it's like the tick strong enough material that it can
- 43:25Speaker 1: kind of jump from one thing to the other.
- 43:27Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 43:27Speaker 3: But Patrick Warburton is so awesome.
- 43:29Speaker 1: It's like, he was, I mean, he's great, but I mean,
- 43:32Speaker 1: he wasn't cause the animated voice is perfect too in
- 43:36Speaker 1: its own way. And like, it's not him. So it's like,
- 43:40Speaker 1: they just found a different way to take it with
- 43:42Speaker 1: the sitcom version. And like, I love that one, too, but, like,
- 43:45Speaker 1: I love that animated series so much that, like, again,
- 43:49Speaker 1: and I had some of even the comics, too, so,
- 43:52Speaker 1: I mean, it was always just a well-written story. It
- 43:55Speaker 1: knew what it was making fun of. It knew, you know,
- 43:58Speaker 1: the whole thing is just satire on superheroes anyway, which
- 44:02Speaker 1: I did, like I said, I did talk to him
- 44:04Speaker 1: a little bit, and that's what I said. I was like,
- 44:06Speaker 1: you're in a whole other world now. Like, it's amazing
- 44:09Speaker 1: that it's lasted as long as it has and come
- 44:12Speaker 1: back several times now and now that you're, it's been
- 44:16Speaker 1: a long stretch since that last one, so now that
- 44:19Speaker 1: you're coming back again, it's like, you're in a whole
- 44:21Speaker 1: new world, because superheroes weren't even that big a thing
- 44:24Speaker 1: when the tick started, and he was like, yeah, it's different,
- 44:28Speaker 1: and like, he thought it was funny too, that like,
- 44:31Speaker 1: one of the main things he was making fun of
- 44:33Speaker 1: when he started making the comic was Daredevil, and he's like,
- 44:38Speaker 1: and now, Daredevil is a huge thing, and a way
- 44:41Speaker 1: bigger property than We'll probably get to. So, yeah, it's
- 44:45Speaker 1: funny that he was making fun of one that hardly
- 44:47Speaker 1: anybody knew at the time, and now it's one of
- 44:49Speaker 1: the bigger series in the world out there. He was
- 44:53Speaker 1: very cool, so I was glad to talk to him.
- 44:55Speaker 3: Speaking of Daredevil, I don't think I saw any of
- 44:57Speaker 3: that cast either.
- 44:57Speaker 2: I saw one Daredevil.
- 44:59Speaker 1: Did you see Foggy?
- 45:01Speaker 3: Froggy? I can't ever get his name right.
- 45:02Speaker 9: Oh, no.
- 45:03Speaker 2: I thought you were talking about Cosplay.
- 45:04Speaker 1: Not the people. Yeah, they were wandering off. I don't
- 45:06Speaker 1: know if they were doing photo ops or something, but yeah,
- 45:08Speaker 1: all their tables were There, but empty. But yeah, as
- 45:11Speaker 1: far as.
- 45:11Speaker 3: The cosplayers, I think I saw like a handful of
- 45:13Speaker 3: the Daredevil. Why is there no foggy cosplayers? Or do
- 45:21Speaker 3: we just not know?
- 45:21Speaker 1: I didn't see that girl either.
- 45:23Speaker 2: What is her name?
- 45:24Speaker 3: In the real world?
- 45:25Speaker 2: Either way.
- 45:26Speaker 1: She's super hot. I totally came around. Like in the
- 45:29Speaker 1: first couple of episodes, I'm like, I mean, she's a
- 45:32Speaker 1: good actress. And then like this last, like season two,
- 45:35Speaker 1: like they like, Every episode, I'm like, what kind of
- 45:39Speaker 1: lighting are you using? Damn, she looks good.
- 45:41Speaker 3: Except for that mole.
- 45:42Speaker 9: Eh.
- 45:43Speaker 1: But now she covers it up massively. There's a lot
- 45:45Speaker 1: of makeup going on in the second season.
- 45:46Speaker 3: There needs to be.
- 45:48Speaker 1: You just don't like weird moles. I don't.
- 45:51Speaker 3: Weird moles creep me out. At least that close to
- 45:53Speaker 3: the face, like the mouth. I don't know.
- 45:56Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 45:57Speaker 1: She's super hot.
- 45:57Speaker 7: She is.
- 45:58Speaker 1: And I didn't get to see her today, so.
- 45:59Speaker 3: I didn't see her at all.
- 46:01Speaker 1: Maybe at a future date. Possibly.
- 46:05Speaker 3: Um. I don't think if any other cosplayers or anything
- 46:09Speaker 3: stood out in my mind. There were some that I
- 46:11Speaker 3: was like, that's just impractical. You can't see out of that.
- 46:14Speaker 3: I know you can't see.
- 46:17Speaker 2: The guy with the TV screen for a head.
- 46:20Speaker 1: That was pretty cool.
- 46:20Speaker 6: How the hell did he do that and was able
- 46:22Speaker 6: to see where the hell.
- 46:23Speaker 2: He was going?
- 46:25Speaker 1: I'll give you that. That's the thing. I was like,
- 46:27Speaker 1: I understand how it's playing because it did have an
- 46:29Speaker 1: image going on it constantly. But I'm like, well. Now
- 46:32Speaker 1: screens are tiny and he had a giant old school
- 46:35Speaker 1: monitor for heads. I'm like, okay, you can gut that
- 46:38Speaker 1: thing and have a lot of empty room. But it's true.
- 46:42Speaker 1: It's not like he was just carefully walking along. He
- 46:46Speaker 1: was just cruising along like nothing was going on. So
- 46:49Speaker 1: I'm really not sure how it was so.
- 46:51Speaker 6: Yeah, he had an old school monitor and the thing
- 46:54Speaker 6: that was playing on there was the old.
- 46:57Speaker 2: 3D mazes that used to be a part of the Windows.
- 47:02Speaker 5: Screensaver.
- 47:03Speaker 1: I recognized it and I was like, I can't remember
- 47:05Speaker 1: if it was a game. It was an old school computer.
- 47:08Speaker 2: It was the screensaver.
- 47:10Speaker 1: I do remember that, yeah.
- 47:12Speaker 2: Because I never used that one. Brick maze.
- 47:14Speaker 1: Oh no, I was looking at it and being like,
- 47:16Speaker 1: I'm going to put some words up here to spin
- 47:18Speaker 1: around in a circle.
- 47:19Speaker 2: Yeah. Or space.
- 47:21Speaker 3: I like the star field one myself.
- 47:22Speaker 1: Yeah, the star field was good. I did that a
- 47:24Speaker 1: lot too. When I didn't have my flying toasters on.
- 47:27Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 47:29Speaker 1: You could set the level of toasting.
- 47:32Speaker 2: Pre-flying toasters.
- 47:34Speaker 1: Man, that was the best part. You could adjust the
- 47:36Speaker 1: level of toast. You could have light or dark. Sometimes
- 47:39Speaker 1: you could burn it if you go too far.
- 47:41Speaker 3: I didn't know that.
- 47:42Speaker 1: Maybe that was the deluxe one that came out afterwards.
- 47:44Speaker 1: But eventually you could adjust the darkness of the toast
- 47:48Speaker 1: on your flying toasters. Hi, ask your grandpa about that, kids.
- 47:52Speaker 1: You may not understand what the hell we're talking about.
- 47:55Speaker 1: Google Flying Toasters. It's okay. So, have you watched anything lately?
- 48:02Speaker 3: I have watched a couple things. I've tried to drag
- 48:05Speaker 3: boyfriend kicking and screaming into watching several things with me,
- 48:07Speaker 3: but that doesn't necessarily end well. But what else did
- 48:11Speaker 3: I watch? I watched the second season of Scream, which
- 48:14Speaker 3: you did not watch. Except for maybe like bits and pieces.
- 48:17Speaker 2: Who, me?
- 48:17Speaker 3: Yes, you.
- 48:17Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't care about it.
- 48:20Speaker 3: But it's Scream, and I love Scream, and I love
- 48:21Speaker 3: most things related to Scream.
- 48:24Speaker 2: It's a bunch of kids on screen pretending to be Scream.
- 48:29Speaker 2: I already saw the movie. I don't need to see
- 48:30Speaker 2: the TV show.
- 48:31Speaker 1: I think they're going for something different. I only made
- 48:35Speaker 1: it like... Did I watch the first episode? I don't
- 48:37Speaker 1: even know if I watched any of it.
- 48:38Speaker 3: You had Bella Thorne in the first episode.
- 48:40Speaker 1: No, I don't think I watched... It was one of
- 48:43Speaker 1: those I kept meaning to and just haven't had time yet.
- 48:46Speaker 1: I watched Scream Queens.
- 48:48Speaker 3: I love Scream Queens.
- 48:49Speaker 1: The pilot of that.
- 48:50Speaker 12: Oh.
- 48:51Speaker 1: That I didn't get any for that. I just don't
- 48:52Speaker 1: have time to watch. There's too many damn TV shows.
- 48:54Speaker 3: Like, I really like the Scream TV series, but they
- 48:57Speaker 3: try to put too much drama in there, and I'm
- 48:59Speaker 3: just like, whoa, just go back to killing some people.
- 49:01Speaker 3: I don't want to hear your little sappy story. I
- 49:03Speaker 3: don't want to watch you fucking cry. Let's just get
- 49:06Speaker 3: to gutting some teens, like what this show is supposed
- 49:08Speaker 3: to be about. I mean, come on now.
- 49:11Speaker 1: How are you gutting her like a fish?
- 49:16Speaker 3: What else did I watch?
- 49:17Speaker 2: Preacher.
- 49:18Speaker 3: I watched the first season of Preacher, but I think
- 49:20Speaker 3: I might have talked about that last time I was
- 49:22Speaker 3: on the show. But I finished watching it. I think
- 49:24Speaker 3: the last time I was on, I might have had
- 49:25Speaker 3: like two or three episodes to go. Maybe. So anyway,
- 49:28Speaker 3: I got through the first season of Preacher. God damn,
- 49:30Speaker 3: I love that show.
- 49:33Speaker 1: Is there a cowboy in it? You forgot to mention
- 49:36Speaker 1: your favorite guy all day today.
- 49:37Speaker 3: I still have no idea what that guy was supposed
- 49:40Speaker 3: to be. And my only guess was he was one
- 49:42Speaker 3: of the cowboys from Preacher. The earth cowboys.
- 49:45Speaker 11: There was a.
- 49:45Speaker 1: Guy wandering around the convention today with one of those. Again,
- 49:51Speaker 1: until I saw him, I was like, oh, I forgot
- 49:53Speaker 1: those existed. Those giant foam cowboy hats that like used
- 49:58Speaker 1: to be a novelty thing. And you did see people
- 50:00Speaker 1: like wearing them at sporting events and whatnot. Like all
- 50:03Speaker 1: kinds of crazy, like stupid ways to do that. But yeah,
- 50:07Speaker 1: he was cruising around all day long today.
- 50:09Speaker 3: No matter where we went.
- 50:11Speaker 1: Every time we turned around, like, damn it, there's that
- 50:13Speaker 1: cowboy again.
- 50:13Speaker 3: What the fuck is he supposed to be from?
- 50:15Speaker 1: I don't know. But he had a weird look to him.
- 50:18Speaker 3: He walked funny.
- 50:19Speaker 2: He walked funny.
- 50:20Speaker 1: And just his face. He looked weird.
- 50:21Speaker 2: I don't know what was going on.
- 50:22Speaker 1: He might have been from another dimension.
- 50:24Speaker 3: He might very well have been.
- 50:25Speaker 1: I'm going with that as my answer.
- 50:27Speaker 3: He was strange.
- 50:29Speaker 1: So anyway, sidetracked you. Preacher. Preacher and Cowboys.
- 50:33Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 50:33Speaker 3: I was like, I don't know what that, I don't know,
- 50:35Speaker 3: Dominic Cooper guy, which I probably just, that's the right one.
- 50:38Speaker 3: I always get them confused. Yeah, it's Dominic Cooper because
- 50:41Speaker 3: I always want to think Dominic West and he's not attractive.
- 50:44Speaker 3: But like I said, Dominic Cooper though, I adore because
- 50:47Speaker 3: he's like a poor man's Carl Urban. I'm like, wait
- 50:49Speaker 3: a minute, Carl Urban's kind of a poor man's Carl Urban.
- 50:52Speaker 1: What the hell are you saying?
- 50:54Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 50:56Speaker 7: So, yeah.
- 50:56Speaker 3: I got through whatever there is a preacher to have
- 50:59Speaker 3: gotten caught up on. So, I'm all caught up on that.
- 51:02Speaker 3: And I adore it. What else did I try to
- 51:05Speaker 3: make you watch? And you were like, okay.
- 51:09Speaker 2: Penny Dreadful.
- 51:10Speaker 3: Penny Dreadful. We got through the first season of Penny Dreadful.
- 51:12Speaker 3: And let me tell you, there is so much going
- 51:16Speaker 3: on on this show.
- 51:18Speaker 11: There is.
- 51:19Speaker 3: I like the show. I think I would like it
- 51:21Speaker 3: a little bit more if it didn't have the just
- 51:23Speaker 3: gratuitous sex. I'm just like, calm it down, people. You
- 51:28Speaker 3: can't make it through one episode.
- 51:30Speaker 1: See, again, you said that earlier today. I was like,
- 51:33Speaker 1: that is weird that two people, I've really only heard
- 51:37Speaker 1: two people talk about it in the recent weeks, and
- 51:41Speaker 1: both of you had the exact same comment. If you
- 51:45Speaker 1: were listening, that's what David said about it, too. So
- 51:47Speaker 1: I'm just like, what kind of porn are you guys watching?
- 51:50Speaker 1: I'm like, this is like.
- 51:51Speaker 2: I'll third that because it.
- 51:53Speaker 1: Was, if it's that overwhelming, cause that's the thing. I
- 51:56Speaker 1: watch a lot of crap on cable and, and there's
- 51:59Speaker 1: plenty of sex. So, I mean, if this is above
- 52:01Speaker 1: and beyond everything else, that's constant sex. Good Lord. I mean,
- 52:06Speaker 1: it's just porn, right?
- 52:07Speaker 3: But it is. Cause it's like, if you have, if
- 52:10Speaker 3: you ever have two characters in a room at some point,
- 52:12Speaker 3: you're like, oh, well they're going to do it. Even
- 52:14Speaker 3: messy hair with another dude.
- 52:16Speaker 1: And I'm just like, Well, they were left by themselves.
- 52:19Speaker 1: What else did you expect them to do?
- 52:21Speaker 3: Because, I mean, there are so many characters. I mean,
- 52:24Speaker 3: you get vampires. Spoiler alert. Anybody who hasn't seen it,
- 52:30Speaker 3: it's been on for three seasons now, possibly two seasons.
- 52:33Speaker 3: They're on Netflix. You have vampires. You got Dorian Gray.
- 52:38Speaker 3: There's a psychic who possibly is possessed by a demon.
- 52:43Speaker 3: There's werewolves. Van Helsing was on there.
- 52:46Speaker 2: Frankenstein.
- 52:47Speaker 3: Frankenstein.
- 52:48Speaker 5: Bride of Frankenstein.
- 52:50Speaker 3: She's in the next season. We haven't gotten to her yet.
- 52:52Speaker 2: Dr. Frankenstein.
- 52:54Speaker 1: Curse of Frankenstein.
- 52:56Speaker 5: Oh, no.
- 52:57Speaker 3: It's like there is everything going on. You don't need
- 52:59Speaker 3: to have the gratuitous ass shots. You just don't need it,
- 53:03Speaker 3: you know?
- 53:04Speaker 1: Speak for yourself.
- 53:06Speaker 3: Dude.
- 53:08Speaker 1: Now I'm sold on this show.
- 53:09Speaker 8: It's just.
- 53:11Speaker 3: Like I said, it's just constant sex. And they're like,
- 53:14Speaker 3: maybe I'm old, maybe I'm prude, whatever. But it's just
- 53:17Speaker 3: not necessary. It's like, I watch this show because I
- 53:20Speaker 3: want to watch a horror show. I want to watch
- 53:23Speaker 3: the horror and the, you know, the evil of there's
- 53:28Speaker 3: Draculars and they done kidnapped Mina and they're going to
- 53:31Speaker 3: find Mina and then, well, wait, no, we got to
- 53:33Speaker 3: stop and have sex first.
- 53:33Speaker 1: But what about all the whoring? You got to work
- 53:36Speaker 1: in more whoring.
- 53:37Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 53:40Speaker 3: And it's just like, some of it's just like, wait
- 53:43Speaker 3: a second, dude.
- 53:44Speaker 8: Stop.
- 53:45Speaker 3: Bitches got consumption. Maybe it's best not to fuck the
- 53:49Speaker 3: whore with consumption.
- 53:51Speaker 1: You're going to catch the consumptions.
- 53:53Speaker 3: Because apparently that was, everybody had this fucking consumption back then.
- 53:56Speaker 1: I don't know if that's one of those kind of diseases,
- 53:59Speaker 1: but whatever. I guess they'll find out the hard way.
- 54:01Speaker 3: I mean, it's like, it's not like a, it's not
- 54:03Speaker 3: an STD. It's a tuberculosis. Isn't that what it was?
- 54:07Speaker 5: Pretty much, yeah.
- 54:08Speaker 3: Well, it seems like half the damn people on there
- 54:09Speaker 3: got it. Well, probably just like two. But you know
- 54:12Speaker 3: what I mean?
- 54:13Speaker 1: It's like two more than most shows I watch. So
- 54:15Speaker 1: I guess that's a lot.
- 54:16Speaker 3: There's just a bloody coffin during the sex. And I'm
- 54:18Speaker 3: just like.
- 54:19Speaker 2: Hot.
- 54:22Speaker 1: Now I'm totally on board.
- 54:24Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 54:24Speaker 3: And the one dude was like totally into it.
- 54:26Speaker 7: He's like, yeah.
- 54:27Speaker 3: And I'm like.
- 54:29Speaker 1: Hey, we all have our thing. You know what I'm saying?
- 54:31Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 54:33Speaker 3: Yeah, there's just, like I said, there's just so much
- 54:36Speaker 3: going on. And Boyfriend was just like, what are you watching?
- 54:38Speaker 3: What is this?
- 54:40Speaker 1: Consumption porn. Exactly.
- 54:42Speaker 3: Because that's what I'm into.
- 54:43Speaker 2: Hell yeah.
- 54:45Speaker 3: What else have I watched? I watched a movie by
- 54:48Speaker 3: myself on the YouTube. Because apparently it's, I'd heard about
- 54:53Speaker 3: this movie existing because apparently it came out in the 90s.
- 54:55Speaker 3: And it's, ooh, I'm a big old nerd. And it's like,
- 54:59Speaker 3: Anybody who knows me knows that there are very few
- 55:01Speaker 3: things that I love more than my 90s young adult
- 55:04Speaker 3: horror books.
- 55:06Speaker 1: Super geek.
- 55:08Speaker 3: Give me some R.L. Stine, Fear Street books. Give me
- 55:10Speaker 3: some Christopher Pike. Give me some Ritchie Tankersley Cusick, and
- 55:13Speaker 3: I am fucking set.
- 55:15Speaker 5: That last one wasn't even real words.
- 55:16Speaker 3: I said what? It was three. Ritchie Tankersley Cusick. Love it.
- 55:19Speaker 3: Love it. Love it.
- 55:21Speaker 9: L.J.
- 55:22Speaker 3: Smith, you know, anything along those lines, you know. And
- 55:26Speaker 3: I will read the hell out of it. Well, apparently,
- 55:30Speaker 3: from one of Christopher Pike's more what books, Fall into Darkness.
- 55:36Speaker 3: I don't know if anybody, nobody's probably fucking heard of
- 55:39Speaker 3: this movie. It came out in the 90s. Considering the
- 55:42Speaker 3: main star is Tatiana Ali.
- 55:44Speaker 8: All right.
- 55:46Speaker 1: I am familiar with her. And by that time, she
- 55:48Speaker 1: was pretty damn hot.
- 55:50Speaker 3: Jonathan Brandes.
- 55:51Speaker 9: It's a neat.
- 55:53Speaker 2: Dead.
- 55:54Speaker 3: He's very much dead.
- 55:55Speaker 1: That makes this extra spooky.
- 55:56Speaker 11: Ah, spooky.
- 55:58Speaker 3: But it was, yeah, it was one of Christopher Pike.
- 56:02Speaker 3: He was kind of like the slightly more mature R.L. Stine,
- 56:06Speaker 3: but still in the same, teenagers reading it. But there
- 56:10Speaker 3: was talk of sex and stuff and everything.
- 56:12Speaker 1: Again, that's the author, right?
- 56:14Speaker 3: Yeah, Christopher Pike.
- 56:15Speaker 1: So not the, did he not have a name for
- 56:18Speaker 1: his series of books?
- 56:19Speaker 3: Not like the teen ones, like for like, Like, his
- 56:23Speaker 3: Goosebump-type ones were called Spooksville. But that was, like, definitely
- 56:27Speaker 3: the more kind of Goosebumpy kind of... I never got
- 56:30Speaker 3: into Goosebumps. I was straight up Fear Street. I never...
- 56:32Speaker 3: I skipped Goosebumps.
- 56:34Speaker 1: You were just too mature for Goosebumps.
- 56:36Speaker 3: I was advanced.
- 56:38Speaker 1: That's where we're going.
- 56:39Speaker 5: Yes.
- 56:41Speaker 13: But, uh.
- 56:42Speaker 3: Anyway, Fall into Darkness, which was one of my favorites
- 56:44Speaker 3: because it's just so fucking like, what? The whole premise
- 56:49Speaker 3: is there's a group of friends. Anne is kind of
- 56:52Speaker 3: like the main snotty girl. And then there's Sharon that
- 56:57Speaker 3: kind of like, she plays piano and she's going to
- 57:00Speaker 3: go to college. But Anne's brother falls in love with her.
- 57:06Speaker 3: He likes her. He asks her out.
- 57:08Speaker 1: And she's like, oh, well, no.
- 57:10Speaker 3: So something happens and he dies. They think he was
- 57:12Speaker 3: depressed or whatever. And then there's this other guy who
- 57:15Speaker 3: has a thing for Anne. And Anne decides to take
- 57:19Speaker 3: her shit out on Sharon. And she tries to fake
- 57:20Speaker 3: her own death. And that just ends horribly for everybody.
- 57:25Speaker 3: But yeah, I was just one of those even reading
- 57:27Speaker 3: it when I was a teenager. I'm like, there is
- 57:29Speaker 3: just so much going on in here. Because there is.
- 57:32Speaker 3: There's just a whole lot of text that she faked
- 57:33Speaker 3: her own death by jumping off a cliff. And then
- 57:36Speaker 3: there was harnesses and... It's very complicated.
- 57:38Speaker 1: Is this all contained within the movie?
- 57:41Speaker 3: Yes.
- 57:44Speaker 1: What's the budget level of this movie?
- 57:45Speaker 3: Not very much.
- 57:46Speaker 1: That's what I was going to say. Since I don't
- 57:48Speaker 1: remember hearing about it even at the time, which being
- 57:51Speaker 1: a geek that I was even in the 90s there,
- 57:53Speaker 1: I would have probably heard about it. Unless it was
- 57:56Speaker 1: not very well publicized.
- 57:57Speaker 3: It felt very much like a made-for-lifetime original.
- 58:01Speaker 1: Oh, well, that's probably why. Try to avoid those.
- 58:04Speaker 3: Yeah, it was not a big budget. It was mostly
- 58:06Speaker 3: just them kind of hanging out by a stream.
- 58:09Speaker 8: Hmm.
- 58:09Speaker 1: That does sound interesting.
- 58:13Speaker 3: But it's just, you know, Anne's fucking crazy, so she
- 58:17Speaker 3: decides that she wants to fake her death and make
- 58:20Speaker 3: it look like Sharon did it to get back at
- 58:21Speaker 3: her and ruin her life for Anne's brother dying. You know,
- 58:28Speaker 3: so it's just she goes to fake her death and
- 58:31Speaker 3: shenanigans apparently ensue and they're not really shenanigans. Anne ends
- 58:35Speaker 3: up dead. Spoiler alert, it came out in the 90s.
- 58:37Speaker 3: If you don't fucking know by now, then too bad.
- 58:39Speaker 1: But nobody saw this movie.
- 58:41Speaker 3: Well, then they're probably not going to see it now.
- 58:44Speaker 1: Baby, you sold mine.
- 58:46Speaker 3: I doubt it.
- 58:47Speaker 1: I would watch Tatiana Ali. I don't know about that
- 58:50Speaker 1: brainless dude.
- 58:52Speaker 3: I feel so sad when I watch him because I'm like,
- 58:54Speaker 3: He wasn't horrible. He was kind of cute, you know.
- 58:58Speaker 1: He hung out with Rodney Dangerfield. I mean, he came
- 59:00Speaker 1: up with all the benefits of being a cool ladybug.
- 59:03Speaker 3: He got no respect.
- 59:06Speaker 1: He got to hang out with Adele Louise. and maybe
- 59:11Speaker 1: another Deluise, depending on when that season was.
- 59:14Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 59:14Speaker 1: I never watched that crazy Sequest nonsense. I just know
- 59:17Speaker 1: there were several Deluises involved.
- 59:19Speaker 3: I never watched that at all.
- 59:22Speaker 1: That's the only other thing I know he was from.
- 59:25Speaker 3: He was in Never Ending Story 2.
- 59:28Speaker 1: Yeah, okay. We'll stick on the ladybugs. So, you'll love
- 59:33Speaker 1: this movie is what you're saying.
- 59:35Speaker 3: I like the book better because I mean... Those are
- 59:37Speaker 3: two different things.
- 59:39Speaker 1: Oh my God. My constant argument.
- 59:42Speaker 3: Well, your argument is stupid.
- 59:44Speaker 1: No, they're not. They're two different things. Why did you
- 59:47Speaker 1: like the story in the book better? Let's go with that.
- 59:50Speaker 3: Well, because it's hard to describe because of the end.
- 59:56Speaker 3: Major spoiler alert. The guy who was in love with Anne,
- 59:59Speaker 3: which was her boyfriend's brother. Like I said, it gets
- 1:00:02Speaker 3: very convoluted.
- 1:00:03Speaker 5: It is convoluted.
- 1:00:04Speaker 3: Well, when she fakes her death, he finds her and
- 1:00:09Speaker 3: he's like, Well, fine, fuck Anne. He goes in and
- 1:00:11Speaker 3: kills her.
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: Well, this sounds fun.
- 1:00:15Speaker 3: And he hides her body in some cave or whatever.
- 1:00:17Speaker 3: And in the book, he takes Sharon there and she
- 1:00:22Speaker 3: finds the body. And so after her whole thing of
- 1:00:29Speaker 3: being arrested for killing Anne and they find out that
- 1:00:31Speaker 3: it's all fake or whatever, at the end, she's arrested
- 1:00:34Speaker 3: again because they have this whole scene and he jumps
- 1:00:36Speaker 3: off the cliff. And it gets blamed on her, too.
- 1:00:40Speaker 11: So, yeah.
- 1:00:42Speaker 3: So she's innocent throughout the entire movie, or in the
- 1:00:44Speaker 3: entire book, she is actually innocent, you know. She didn't
- 1:00:47Speaker 3: kill Anne. The, I forgot his fucking name, Jonathan Brandes,
- 1:00:51Speaker 3: his character, did. But in the movie, they try this
- 1:00:54Speaker 3: whole thing where she may or may not have killed
- 1:00:58Speaker 3: Anne's boyfriend to get revenge on him getting all of
- 1:01:00Speaker 3: her money after she dies. It was just kind of like,
- 1:01:04Speaker 3: it's not at all fitting with the character we've known
- 1:01:06Speaker 3: from all the book and or the movie. Because even
- 1:01:09Speaker 3: in the movie, you're like, That's not even... No? Why
- 1:01:16Speaker 3: would she go to the point of killing the guy
- 1:01:18Speaker 3: who actually didn't do anything to begin with?
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: Because he wants to.
- 1:01:27Speaker 3: I was just like, it's cheap is what it felt like.
- 1:01:30Speaker 3: It's like a cheap ploy, whatever. I don't think I've
- 1:01:36Speaker 3: watched anything else.
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: I went and saw a semi-recent movie and one that
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: a lot of people had opinions on. I saw Ghostbusters.
- 1:01:47Speaker 3: Yeah, I have no desire to see that whatsoever. Because
- 1:01:51Speaker 3: the trailer was horrible.
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: See, and I agree with you on that. Once again,
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: they need to let the director make their own trailer.
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: Just don't give it to these damn trailer people because
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: they either ruin the entire movie and put everything in
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: there Or they cut it so wrong that it looks
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: like the wrong movie that you don't want to go
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: see and then you don't want to go see it.
- 1:02:13Speaker 2: So, I don't know.
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: They need to change the way that they make so
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: many trailers today because they're just wrong. Other than that,
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: of the people that have been complaining about it for
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: the last year or more, people just need to shut
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: up because it's actually a pretty good movie. I was
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: surprised how much I liked it. And, I mean, I
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: still don't understand why they needed to, like, reset the universe. Like,
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: I've said all along, like, I don't even care if
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: you want to make girls go and be Ghostbusters.
- 1:02:43Speaker 5: That's fine.
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: Why would they not want to if people, I mean,
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: how many damn TV shows with people running around looking
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: for ghosts? We had them on earlier today, and I
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: was making fun of them here, too. But, I'm like.
- 1:02:52Speaker 3: Yeah, the one I made them change the channels. I'm like,
- 1:02:54Speaker 3: I am not watching this.
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: That was terrible. In the usual fashion of, you guys
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: hear that? No, nobody heard anything. It's a fake ghost show.
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: You guys are full of shit. So again, so if
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: you want to go look for ghosts.
- 1:03:08Speaker 3: It was a show that had douchebags on it in
- 1:03:10Speaker 3: case anybody out there was curious.
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: Yeah, that show's stupid. And so is that guy.
- 1:03:13Speaker 3: I hate that guy.
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: So, but yeah, I'm like, if you, I could care
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: less if it's girls or whoever, whoever you cast in it,
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: just make it good people. But it does seem like,
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: why wouldn't they just leave it in the same universe
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: and be like, Hey, remember those guys like 20, 30
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: years ago who did that? We're going to try to
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: do that too. So, I... But really, I mean, if
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: you take that out.
- 1:03:33Speaker 3: Or if they even took him on as apprentices or something.
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: Well, I mean, at one point, that was one of
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: the original... Well, that was one of the many, many...
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: They've done so many versions of the screenplay over the years.
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: And at one point, they did have all the original
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: cast in the written form. Again, they hadn't signed on
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: because Bill Murray didn't want to do it at that point.
- 1:03:53Speaker 11: But, um.
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: Yeah, they were going to bring them on and were
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: training the new people and they were going to cast
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: a bunch of new kids to be the new Ghostbusters.
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: So that was, in fact, one of the potential ways
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: it could have gone in an alternate universe. But, yeah,
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: otherwise it's like this one they just start over again,
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: more or less. They don't ever make mention of it
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: and it would ruin any cameos that do happen to
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: be in this, which, spoiler alert, there are some cameos,
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: don't you worry.
- 1:04:21Speaker 3: Is Annie Potts in there?
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: Like, everybody. If they could have gotten Harold Ramis as
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: a ghost, he would have been in there.
- 1:04:31Speaker 3: That would have been awesome.
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: It would have been really awesome, actually, if they could have, like,
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: CG'd him in there. But other than that, like, again,
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: even with them just starting from scratch again, I'm fine
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: with it as the way it plays out now. Like,
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: I don't necessarily know why that's the decision, but who cares?
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: That's what they did. So, if you just start from scratch, though,
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: what I was worried about and what that trailer makes you...
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: I expected so much dumb slapsticky nonsense and they always
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: force that kind of stuff on specifically Melissa McCarthy and
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: like again I think she's really funny I think she's
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: so much better than that and there's not that much
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: of that kind of comedy at all in this movie
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: like the stuff that I like the best is just
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: the little back and forth between the three and then
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: four main characters and like it's all just really simple
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: stuff it's basic dialogue that Some of which I'm wondering
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: if it's even in the screenplay, if it was just
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: stuff they said while they were shooting, because it's all
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: really natural, and that stuff is the stuff that I
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: enjoyed the most. It was just, those girls are really
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: likable characters, and you get in there, and they've got
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: good dialogue, and good back and forth between each other,
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: and the special effects look great, because they spent millions
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: on them, and everything else just kind of works. I mean,
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: they do these weird little nods to the original... but
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: not in an overwhelming way. Like, even the stuff that
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: they worked in that you think they're totally doing it
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: beat for beat of the other movie, they're actually not.
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: That was the other thing I was kind of impressed with.
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: They really do an entirely different story and almost go
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: out of their way to, like, throw a monkey wrench
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: into it coming together the way the other one did.
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: And then maybe later down the line, it looks like,
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: assuming they get greenlit to do another one, they'll work
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: some of that stuff in. But for the most part,
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: it's like they actually.
- 1:06:24Speaker 3: I thought that they already decided they were not going
- 1:06:26Speaker 3: to make another one because.
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: They lost so much money.
- 1:06:29Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: That could all change. But they definitely left the door
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: wide open to finish a couple of ongoing Ghostbusters universe
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: bits of just plot points, really. So I'm like, yeah,
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: that would be fine if they want to come back
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: and work some of the stuff in from the original
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: 84 version. But, I don't know. I liked it for
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: what it was. I think it's a lot of fun.
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: I think all four of those actresses are great. Like,
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: I don't know. I really ended up liking all of them.
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: And I think, again, it wasn't amazing so much that
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: I was just floored by it because it was a
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: different type of movie than I expected. It's still just
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: a good, solid comedy. But it was that. I was
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: just so impressed with the fact that it didn't suck.
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: And on top of that, it was just good performances
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: and entertaining all around. I was really impressed with what
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: it ended up being more than anything else.
- 1:07:28Speaker 5: So, I think it's worth watching.
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: People just need to get over themselves and just quit
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: complaining about it.
- 1:07:33Speaker 3: I just can't get over the trailer.
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: That trailer's bad. I said that when I saw it.
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: I was like, oh, this looks dumb. And I don't
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: feel like any of that stuff comes through in the
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: actual movie. It's just cut really bad.
- 1:07:45Speaker 3: But it's so hard for me when I really hate
- 1:07:47Speaker 3: the trailer to... force myself to sit down like alright
- 1:07:50Speaker 3: once I've seen it I'm like nope I've already got
- 1:07:53Speaker 3: an opinion formed in my mind it's hard for me
- 1:07:56Speaker 3: to like break that that.
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: Means no more trailers for you it means all of
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: the trailers for me nope you have to not watch
- 1:08:04Speaker 1: it is one of those like there's some stuff I'm
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: like or even if I'll hear like I've heard a
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: few like listening to shows people will be like seriously
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: don't watch the trailer first just go watch this movie
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: cause it's way better and they'll run stuff for you
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: and if I find that out I will avoid the
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: trailer until after I watch the movie because I'm like,
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: once again, the people making the trailers screw things up.
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: They ruin the movie in the process sometimes.
- 1:08:27Speaker 3: Do you remember the guy who's trying to sue DC
- 1:08:30Speaker 3: because there are scenes in the Suicide Squad trailer that
- 1:08:34Speaker 3: were not in the movie?
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:08:36Speaker 3: He's like, I drove three hours to watch the movie
- 1:08:40Speaker 3: to see the scenes that were in the trailer and
- 1:08:43Speaker 3: they weren't in.
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: The movie at all. first off where do you live
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: you weirdo they play it was playing at every mall
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: and multiplex in.
- 1:08:52Speaker 3: The country he said he drove three.
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: Hours Why would you need to drive three hours to
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: get to the most mainstream showing of a movie ever?
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: First of all, that guy's an idiot.
- 1:09:03Speaker 3: But he said there were specific scenes that were the
- 1:09:06Speaker 3: Joker's doing stuff, and I wanted to specifically see those scenes,
- 1:09:10Speaker 3: and they.
- 1:09:11Speaker 2: Weren't in there.
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: Specifically, that guy's not in the movie now. Tough luck, dude.
- 1:09:14Speaker 3: I'm like, dude, if you just wanted to see the
- 1:09:16Speaker 3: scenes that were in the trailer, just watch the fucking trailer.
- 1:09:19Speaker 5: It's free on YouTube. Go find it.
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: Have fun.
- 1:09:21Speaker 3: I was like, dude, you're an asshole. False advertising.
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: Well, once again, if we're going back to the people
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: making the trailer their job... Not to even make a
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: good representation of the movie. Their job is to get
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: you to come to the theater. And they did their job.
- 1:09:39Speaker 3: It worked.
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: Your ass went. You were a sucker. They did a
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: really good job. So, again, you have to, viewer beware.
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: You better know that you're not necessarily getting what you
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: saw in the trailer when you go to see a movie.
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: You better deal.
- 1:09:55Speaker 2: With that, people.
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: And that's not like that's the first time that's happened.
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: There's tons of the times that I've heard those stories before.
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: I mean, there's some that an entire alternate part of
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: the movie got shot, pieces of that got put in
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: the trailer, and then they cut that whole segment.
- 1:10:15Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: It's not like that's an unusual thing, really, in making movies. So,
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: once again, this guy just doesn't leave the house much.
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: He doesn't know how movies work. He doesn't know where
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: to find one, obviously.
- 1:10:27Speaker 2: So.
- 1:10:29Speaker 3: It should never take you three hours to get anywhere
- 1:10:32Speaker 3: to see a movie not to see.
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: A regular well again i've i know people that have
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: driven like to another city to see like a specific
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: showing like okay it's like a original 35 millimeter print
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: not everybody's gonna play that anywhere there's not even theaters
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: equipped to do that in a lot of cities now
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: so it's like if you want to go see a
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: physical print of it that's one thing if it's a
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: one-off you know smaller movie that you know or they're
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: doing a special film fest here like all of that
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: would make sense but a major release to every theater
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: like it's not even like it was a select cities
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: kind of thing that thing went out wide you're an.
- 1:11:08Speaker 3: Idiot maybe it just took him three hours to waddle
- 1:11:11Speaker 3: his fat ass out of his mom's basement maybe.
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: He just like doesn't know how to work his google
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: maps and he just drove in circles for three hours
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: until he got there I don't know. People, some of
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: these people out there, they need assistance. I'm not giving them.
- 1:11:27Speaker 8: Fuck no.
- 1:11:30Speaker 3: I would ask boyfriend's opinion, but he's falling asleep.
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: Yeah, I guess that means we should wrap things.
- 1:11:38Speaker 9: Up.
- 1:11:38Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm tired too and my head's starting to feel
- 1:11:40Speaker 3: extra splody again. So before I get even more retarded
- 1:11:43Speaker 3: than I have in this entire process.
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: Too late. Alright, so we, I guess we will leave
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: it at that. So, yeah, with that, I guess we
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: will wrap up. And before we do, we want to
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: send a big thank you to Wizard World for letting
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: us be part of the event and hang out with
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: Rose more than anything. But to find out what they've
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: got going on, which is quite a bit because they're
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: in cities all over the country, go to wizardworld.com and
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: see which cities and when they will be up and
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: running and who's going to be in yours.
- 1:12:19Speaker 3: Sorry, I got distracted trying to look them up and
- 1:12:20Speaker 3: see who it was. I was like, where can we
- 1:12:22Speaker 3: go next?
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: You're trying to go to another one right now.
- 1:12:25Speaker 3: I'm going to have one in Richmond, Austin, Tulsa, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia,
- 1:12:31Speaker 3: New Orleans, Portland, Cleveland, St. Louis, Philadelphia again, Sacramento, Orlando, Nashville. Ooh, Nashville.
- 1:12:38Speaker 3: What's next year, though?
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: You guys have heard of many of those cities. You
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: probably live near one.
- 1:12:44Speaker 3: Columbus, too.
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: So go find yourself one of those conventions and go
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: check it out.
- 1:12:48Speaker 3: They are awesome, full of awesome things. And like I said,
- 1:12:51Speaker 3: they usually bring in the higher caliber celebrities. I mean,
- 1:12:56Speaker 3: where else are you going to see Michael J.
- 1:12:57Speaker 2: Fox?
- 1:12:59Speaker 3: I mean, Norman Reedus. No, we forgot to talk about
- 1:13:04Speaker 3: Sean Patrick Flannery and his lack of buttons.
- 1:13:07Speaker 1: Dude, just at least one more button on your shirt.
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: That's all I'm saying. I don't need to see your
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: navel when you're signing autographs, dude.
- 1:13:15Speaker 3: You might need to.
- 1:13:19Speaker 2: What? Fall asleep.
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: What?
- 1:13:24Speaker 3: What?
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: I'm tired.
- 1:13:27Speaker 2: I'm tired. What?
- 1:13:31Speaker 3: He snored. And then he snored. Sorry.
- 1:13:37Speaker 2: I'm tired.
- 1:13:38Speaker 3: I agree.
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: I am as well.
- 1:13:43Speaker 13: Alright.
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: So yeah. Dude, button your shirt. That's all I'm saying.
- 1:13:48Speaker 2: Who are we talking about? Sean Patrick Flannery?
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: Look at me. Somebody pay attention to me.
- 1:13:55Speaker 2: My chest.
- 1:13:59Speaker 3: It's not bad looking.
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: Especially for an old dude.
- 1:14:02Speaker 3: He's not like ancient.
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: He's as ancient as the rest.
- 1:14:05Speaker 10: Of us now.
- 1:14:07Speaker 2: Yeah, but it's just kind of sad, though, because it's.
- 1:14:11Speaker 6: At that point where he's just grasping at anything to
- 1:14:14Speaker 6: stay relevant.
- 1:14:15Speaker 1: Yeah, that's kind of the way I've put it. It's
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: just like, look, I'm working out. Look how hot I am.
- 1:14:22Speaker 3: He does Brazilian jiu-jitsu. No, he does something else, I think.
- 1:14:25Speaker 3: I just made that up. He does some kind of
- 1:14:29Speaker 3: fighting thing. It might not be Brazilian.
- 1:14:31Speaker 2: I think he does jiu-jitsu.
- 1:14:34Speaker 3: See, you can't remember either.
- 1:14:35Speaker 2: Yeah, was it jiu-jitsu or does he do Krav Maga?
- 1:14:38Speaker 3: No, I don't think he does that.
- 1:14:39Speaker 2: Okay, maybe it was jiu-jitsu.
- 1:14:41Speaker 3: Whatever it is, he does a lot of stuff. And
- 1:14:44Speaker 3: apparently he wants everybody to see the stuff he does.
- 1:14:46Speaker 1: He wants everybody to see his stuff.
- 1:14:48Speaker 2: Look at this. Look at my chest area.
- 1:14:51Speaker 1: So, yeah, he was hugging a lot of them girls
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: over there at his table.
- 1:14:55Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: And then as he got off of them, I was
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: just like, and his shirt's open. What's going on at
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: this table? What kind of an operation is this?
- 1:15:04Speaker 2: Was it you that said, check out his shirt?
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: I was like, let's talk about his shirt or lack thereof.
- 1:15:09Speaker 6: I was like, geez, he's barely got it on. Of
- 1:15:16Speaker 6: my seven buttons, only three.
- 1:15:18Speaker 3: Are buttoned up. HBJJ, is that a thing?
- 1:15:22Speaker 2: HBJJ?
- 1:15:23Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:15:23Speaker 2: Yeah, it's Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
- 1:15:32Speaker 3: I got it right? Mm-hmm. Boom. But, yeah, there was
- 1:15:36Speaker 3: a lot of some chest going on there. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:15:41Speaker 3: That's the thing. Maybe that's his whole point. He distracts
- 1:15:44Speaker 3: you with his chest. You can't see that his forehead's
- 1:15:45Speaker 3: not moving.
- 1:15:46Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: He's beautiful.
- 1:15:48Speaker 3: I feel kind of bad for him. Because back in
- 1:15:49Speaker 3: the day, it was always like, oh, because you have
- 1:15:51Speaker 3: Sean Patrick Flannery and Norman Reedus would be side by side.
- 1:15:55Speaker 3: And now they're like on opposite ends of the room
- 1:15:57Speaker 3: because it's like.
- 1:15:58Speaker 6: It used to be he was the big name and
- 1:16:00Speaker 6: Norman Reedus was just kind of there.
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: It was like, oh, Sean Patrick Flannery is the cute
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: brother in that movie.
- 1:16:07Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: And nobody knew who the hell that other guy was.
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: He's the greasy one. And now, oh, how the tables
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: have turned.
- 1:16:16Speaker 3: I was just like, I was aggravated because it cost
- 1:16:18Speaker 3: $ 105 to get a picture with Norman Reedus. And I'm like, dude, $ 105.
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: He needs that extra five.
- 1:16:22Speaker 3: Well, I feel like he's buying the basic essentials like
- 1:16:24Speaker 3: shampoo or anything. Because he's like greasy as shit. It's like, dude,
- 1:16:28Speaker 3: come on now. And it's like, when I got his autograph,
- 1:16:30Speaker 3: it was like, I think he might have been on...
- 1:16:32Speaker 3: Had he actually been on The Walking Dead yet?
- 1:16:34Speaker 2: He'd been on The Walking Dead, but he'd only been
- 1:16:35Speaker 2: like one or two episodes.
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: It hadn't taken off quite as.
- 1:16:38Speaker 2: Not at all.
- 1:16:39Speaker 1: Quite as much as it would.
- 1:16:40Speaker 3: We waited, what, five minutes in line, if that? And
- 1:16:43Speaker 3: it cost me what... 40 or 50 bucks to get
- 1:16:46Speaker 3: both of their autographs.
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: And they took pictures at the table. Multiples, if I remember.
- 1:16:52Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:16:53Speaker 3: You know. And it's like, they were really nice, and
- 1:16:56Speaker 3: it was very calm. Now it's like, you want to
- 1:16:58Speaker 3: get anywhere within a 10-foot radius of Norman Reedus, it's like, nope.
- 1:17:01Speaker 3: Wait a minute. There's going to need to be copious
- 1:17:03Speaker 3: amounts of money involved for this. It was, what, 80
- 1:17:05Speaker 3: bucks for the autograph and 105 for a picture. I'm like, dude,
- 1:17:09Speaker 3: when your character dies, your stock is going to plummet.
- 1:17:12Speaker 2: So....
- 1:17:13Speaker 3: I guess he better cash in on it now so yeah.
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: I guess so yeah especially as long as he worked
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: in the industry and again nobody paid much attention to
- 1:17:22Speaker 1: him because you go back and look at his imdb
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: and he's in a bunch of stuff you're like oh
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: yeah that weird dude in the other blade movie i
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: forgot that was him like he's been doing stuff for
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: years one.
- 1:17:33Speaker 6: Other movie was where we watched it was a space
- 1:17:35Speaker 6: movie and he popped out of the ceiling and you
- 1:17:37Speaker 6: were like You're like, holy crap, I think.
- 1:17:40Speaker 7: It's Norman Reedus.
- 1:17:41Speaker 3: It was covered in all this black goo. The only
- 1:17:43Speaker 3: reason I knew it was him was I could hear
- 1:17:44Speaker 3: him say fuck repeatedly. And I'm like, I recognize that fuck.
- 1:17:48Speaker 3: That's Norman Reedus. What the hell was that?
- 1:17:52Speaker 2: It wasn't Event Horizon.
- 1:17:53Speaker 3: No.
- 1:17:55Speaker 2: Doom.
- 1:17:56Speaker 3: No. No. Because, yeah, he literally falls out of the
- 1:18:00Speaker 3: ceiling long enough to die. Like, he comes, he falls down,
- 1:18:04Speaker 3: he curses a lot, and then he's like, something killed him.
- 1:18:06Speaker 3: I remember that.
- 1:18:08Speaker 2: What was that movie?
- 1:18:09Speaker 1: Spaceballs?
- 1:18:11Speaker 2: No, it wasn't Spaceballs.
- 1:18:13Speaker 3: It was even covered in slimy black shit. He was
- 1:18:16Speaker 3: probably still cleaner than he is in the real world.
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: He's got a look, man, and it has worked for him.
- 1:18:25Speaker 1: Let's see.
- 1:18:27Speaker 3: I'm looking, I'm looking, I'm looking, I'm looking, I'm looking.
- 1:18:29Speaker 1: That's not it.
- 1:18:30Speaker 3: Pandorum? Was that right?
- 1:18:34Speaker 2: Yeah, that sounds vaguely familiar.
- 1:18:39Speaker 3: I think it was Pandorum.
- 1:18:40Speaker 2: I think it was Pandorum too.
- 1:18:42Speaker 3: Couldn't tell you a goddamn thing about that movie.
- 1:18:44Speaker 2: Except for he pops out of the ceiling.
- 1:18:48Speaker 3: That's about it. He was in that one really good
- 1:18:50Speaker 3: episode of Master of Horror.
- 1:18:52Speaker 1: Cigarette Burns?
- 1:18:53Speaker 3: Yes.
- 1:18:55Speaker 1: That's one of the ones everybody always talks about.
- 1:18:58Speaker 3: Ooh, Deuce is Wild. I'm looking. I still love Boondocks. Ooh,
- 1:19:04Speaker 3: it was 8mm.
- 1:19:04Speaker 8: 8mm.
- 1:19:06Speaker 2: He was an 8mm?
- 1:19:08Speaker 3: Apparently he was an 8mm.
- 1:19:11Speaker 1: Once again, he was making stuff for years and just
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: always a small character.
- 1:19:17Speaker 3: 97.
- 1:19:17Speaker 1: Nobody paid attention to him.
- 1:19:20Speaker 3: His first credits appear to be in 1997.
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: One day somebody handed him a crossbow and his life changed.
- 1:19:27Speaker 3: Dude, seriously. He'd never take a shower again. Now that
- 1:19:35Speaker 3: you're awake, do you have anything else to add.
- 1:19:38Speaker 2: Oh, the other really good cosplayer, Mrs. Mila Wallace.
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: Okay, yeah. She put a lot of time into that.
- 1:19:49Speaker 6: Because Misty was like, look, look, look, look, look, look, look,
- 1:19:52Speaker 6: without having to come out and just be like, Brian,
- 1:19:55Speaker 6: look at her.
- 1:19:56Speaker 3: I had to point because.
- 1:19:57Speaker 2: Right next to us, yeah.
- 1:19:59Speaker 3: I had to point. I had to physically point.
- 1:20:00Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:20:01Speaker 2: Because, I mean, I didn't.
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: There's a lot of people around there.
- 1:20:03Speaker 13: I don't know who you're talking about.
- 1:20:05Speaker 6: Without the syringe sticking out of her chest, you wouldn't
- 1:20:09Speaker 6: have known who she was.
- 1:20:10Speaker 2: You might have been like, is she? She's kind of dressed,
- 1:20:14Speaker 2: I think.
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: She's just got the white shirt.
- 1:20:17Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: And the blood coming out of her nose and the wig.
- 1:20:20Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:20:21Speaker 1: So all that, you know, with the cherry on top
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: that is a syringe sticking out of her chest.
- 1:20:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:20:26Speaker 1: That's a pretty good costume.
- 1:20:28Speaker 2: That's all I got.
- 1:20:29Speaker 5: So.
- 1:20:31Speaker 6: Oh, there was one guy there that was, I guess
- 1:20:35Speaker 6: he was like Super Saiyan Goku or something.
- 1:20:38Speaker 1: Oh, the one with the giant hair?
- 1:20:40Speaker 2: The one that like worked out.
- 1:20:42Speaker 6: Looks like he worked out.
- 1:20:43Speaker 3: The one with the back knee?
- 1:20:45Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:20:47Speaker 6: It was a guy that looked like he worked out
- 1:20:49Speaker 6: every day for the past two years just for this convention.
- 1:20:54Speaker 6: Because he was like super ripped. And then he had
- 1:20:59Speaker 6: Goku hair. and that hair was pretty impressive really yeah
- 1:21:03Speaker 6: it looked like you went through a lot of a
- 1:21:04Speaker 6: lot of i don't know if that was real hair
- 1:21:06Speaker 6: or not.
- 1:21:07Speaker 1: Either way though i was just kind of a lot
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: of hairspray how yeah how specific each little like triangle
- 1:21:13Speaker 1: of hair that shot out in a different direction yeah
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: did a pretty good job on that yeah whether it
- 1:21:18Speaker 1: was real or not somebody spent a lot of time
- 1:21:20Speaker 1: on yeah so i was like it's probably sad that
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: Of the two, I'm more impressed by your hair, because
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: you probably spent a lot of time working out.
- 1:21:28Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:21:28Speaker 1: But I'm just like, look at that hair!
- 1:21:30Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:21:30Speaker 3: You know what I think that's one of the most
- 1:21:31Speaker 3: of that I just realized?
- 1:21:32Speaker 9: What?
- 1:21:33Speaker 3: Winter soldiers.
- 1:21:34Speaker 12: There were a lot.
- 1:21:35Speaker 1: There were a lot of winter soldiers.
- 1:21:37Speaker 3: Male and female.
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: I was going to say, a lot of girls were
- 1:21:39Speaker 1: winter soldiers.
- 1:21:40Speaker 6: Well, when you were talking about the gender swap ones,
- 1:21:43Speaker 6: did you see there was at least two or three
- 1:21:45Speaker 6: gender swap Joker Harlequins?
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: I saw a lot of girl jokers, but I've seen
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: a good amount of girl jokers. There were girl jokers,
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: but there.
- 1:21:58Speaker 2: Were girl Jared Leto jokers.
- 1:22:01Speaker 1: Yeah, I saw a couple of those.
- 1:22:03Speaker 2: And their guys were the Harley Quinns.
- 1:22:06Speaker 3: I must have missed those.
- 1:22:07Speaker 6: Yeah, because one of them took a picture at the
- 1:22:10Speaker 6: radio DJ place where you got the bottle opener with
- 1:22:14Speaker 6: the stuff you're going to scrape off of. But yeah,
- 1:22:16Speaker 6: there was one, there was, there was a boy there
- 1:22:19Speaker 6: that was like, um, he had really short hair. And
- 1:22:23Speaker 6: then I think he had one side of it had a,
- 1:22:26Speaker 6: he had short blonde hair. One side had a little
- 1:22:29Speaker 6: splotch of blue and the other had a splotch of pink.
- 1:22:32Speaker 6: And he was wearing like high heels and, but he
- 1:22:36Speaker 6: was a guy and his, his girlfriend was the Joker.
- 1:22:39Speaker 6: So it was, and, and back to the thing when
- 1:22:43Speaker 6: you're talking about the shirts, um, The other thing that
- 1:22:46Speaker 6: I saw a crap ton.
- 1:22:48Speaker 2: Of was the property of Joker jackets.
- 1:22:52Speaker 3: Oh my gosh, yes.
- 1:22:53Speaker 2: Everybody had them on, it seemed like.
- 1:22:57Speaker 1: I was not wearing them.
- 1:22:59Speaker 5: No.
- 1:23:01Speaker 3: Seems like I just remembered one more thing that I
- 1:23:02Speaker 3: was going to say, but now I can't remember what
- 1:23:04Speaker 3: it was. Now I'm like, damn it to hell.
- 1:23:06Speaker 2: Cosplay? Artists?
- 1:23:09Speaker 3: No, I was going to talk about, because you mentioned
- 1:23:11Speaker 3: the booth that had the radio stuff. That's when I
- 1:23:15Speaker 3: went in there to get the free sample.
- 1:23:17Speaker 4: Oh, yeah.
- 1:23:18Speaker 3: They're like, you can enter to win for the White Sox.
- 1:23:20Speaker 3: And I'm like, dude, I can win Sox? I was
- 1:23:22Speaker 3: like so excited.
- 1:23:24Speaker 1: Yeah, you have to remember where you are.
- 1:23:28Speaker 3: I still had no clue. I'm like, I didn't know.
- 1:23:29Speaker 1: I mean, odds are even if you lived here, you
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: wouldn't know anything about the sporting teams.
- 1:23:36Speaker 3: I was like, dude, Sox.
- 1:23:37Speaker 1: But nobody's more excited about Sox than you.
- 1:23:40Speaker 2: Yeah, that's pretty funny.
- 1:23:42Speaker 3: I was so excited about socks, and I was very
- 1:23:44Speaker 3: disappointed when I realized that I could not possibly win socks.
- 1:23:47Speaker 2: That's baseball.
- 1:23:50Speaker 1: The most opposite of socks.
- 1:23:52Speaker 3: They wear socks.
- 1:23:54Speaker 1: I don't think so.
- 1:23:55Speaker 3: They don't wear socks in baseball.
- 1:23:56Speaker 2: I think they have special socks.
- 1:24:00Speaker 3: I could have special socks.
- 1:24:01Speaker 2: I'll have to ask Chad.
- 1:24:03Speaker 1: If anybody needs special socks.
- 1:24:04Speaker 5: It's you.
- 1:24:05Speaker 7: All right.
- 1:24:09Speaker 3: Are we done for realsies this time?
- 1:24:10Speaker 1: Let's round this out for reals.
- 1:24:11Speaker 3: Because I'm fucking tired.
- 1:24:13Speaker 1: Thank you to Wizard World. We obviously had fun and
- 1:24:16Speaker 1: we are worn out. Otherwise, we will return next time.
- 1:24:19Speaker 5: Same geek feed. Thanks for listening.
- 1:24:21Speaker 3: Bye.
- 1:24:22Speaker 2: Bye.
- 1:24:24Speaker 4: I got my socks on. I got my socks on.
- 1:24:28Speaker 6: I got my all got socks on.
- 1:24:31Speaker 4: I got my socks on.
- 1:24:33Speaker 9: I got my socks on. I got my all got
- 1:24:37Speaker 9: socks on.
- 1:25:45Speaker 4: Yeah, you know I.
- 1:25:46Speaker 9: Look hot in my Argyle socks. When I step in
- 1:25:48Speaker 9: the spot, you know it's time to rock. I pull
- 1:25:50Speaker 9: them up to the top.
- 1:25:51Speaker 1: Of my shinny-shin-shins.
- 1:25:52Speaker 9: Yeah, my Argyle twins is where it all begins. Life
- 1:25:54Speaker 9: can be heavy, we all know. So much pressure, you're
- 1:25:57Speaker 9: gonna explode. You gotta take time to release the load.
- 1:25:59Speaker 9: So I kick off my shoes and I wiggle my toes.
- 1:26:51Speaker 9: the snoring. And the snorting.
- 1:27:01Speaker 1: It's not the first time people have fallen asleep in
- 1:27:03Speaker 1: the middle of it.
- 1:27:05Speaker 3: Roger fell asleep.
- 1:27:06Speaker 9: He passed out. He passed out, yeah.
- 1:27:08Speaker 2: I think the first Chicago one.
- 1:27:12Speaker 13: I might have, or like right before we were going
- 1:27:15Speaker 13: to record, and then I woke up and I was like, fine.
- 1:27:18Speaker 13: I turned around, but like, Right beforehand, it was like.
- 1:27:23Speaker 9: Okay, here we go.
