- 0:00Welcome back. Here are the six quick questions.
- 0:12Question number one, what's your why? Why do you wake up every day and do what you do? It is because I'm a bit slow with it, but I think it's bringing joy to people's lives through fragrances. So elevating the mundane through these, you know, just a little bit of a waft of a natural scent. Yes. Oh, I love that. Beautiful. Question number two, what's been your favorite marketing moment so far?
- 0:41I think it's when Vogue magazine asked us for our product images before we'd even launched. Wow. Yeah. So that was a lovely moment. How? It was, again, Instagram because the lovely website developer that we hired, or designer, who we still work with today, Jules, had posted a little picture on Instagram of the day when they took pictures at Instagram.
- 1:07for our first, for our website. And Vogue must've followed them and, you know, and that's how, that's how they ask for pictures. Yeah. Love that. Question number three, what is your go-to learning resource? Where are you going to learn or upskill or discover?
- 1:26I think podcasts where you learn about people's stories, just a bit like this, I guess, is great. Guy Raz has that lovely podcast, How I Built This, which is so good. You know, we've talked about challenges, but every business has these challenges and you get that real depth from his podcast. Yeah, absolutely. Can agree. Question number four is how do you win the day?
- 1:54My day starts almost the same every day. I have a lovely border collie active, so dog park. Dog park, beautiful. Dog park, and then usually it's either a run or yoga second, and coffee, and that's enough to make me happy. Me too. Coffee, cold shower or swim in the ocean, and cuddles with my dog.
- 2:17Love. Yeah, lovely. What is, what's been your worst money mistake and how much did it cost you?
- 2:26Well, I think I spoke about that one earlier. That's probably the worst. But there's been another one dealing with a manufacturer who really shafted us and supplied us with inferior products and refused to remake them. So that I thought about going down the legal action, but, yeah, we lost again probably. That was even more, like $30,000. Yeah.
- 2:51um but you know in that relationship is now completely over so um yeah yeah and deciding not to go down the legal path is that like you know to protect your mental sanity i think yeah it is yeah yeah legal stuff takes a lot of time and energy and it just wasn't worth it yeah and last question question number six what is just a crazy story good or bad from your journey in
- 3:22Okay, I'm going to give you a recent one. Great. Because the Wash While brand we talked about and that launched a couple of years ago. And part of the portfolio is just this little product called Toilet Drops, which we launched about a year ago. And anyway, we got a little bit of press. An influencer on TikTok posted about how she uses the toilet drops in her laundry. And that went viral recently.
- 3:47hit Channel 7 News and it was unbelievable sales impact. So of all the products that we've launched and we've launched about 60, this is a product that is going crazy. How many, like, what can you attribute to the video? Like how much revenue can you attribute? It was pretty popular at the time, but even before the video, it was a really popular product. We had our first batch. It sold out within a month and that's never happened before.
- 4:17So even before then it was popular. But when Channel 7 News article, we were probably getting, normally we'd get an online wash world is really tiny and you can only buy this online. So we'd probably get 10 orders a day and all of a sudden it went to over 100 a day. Wow. Oh, my God. The power of a viral video. There you go.
- 4:37Love that for you. Yeah. It's so funny. And the fact that it's a toilet product too, that's kind of, we just all laugh at the toilet drops. It's so funny. Yeah. Oh, my gosh, Belinda. This was so nice. Thank you so much for coming on the show and sharing all these juicy insights and valuable gems. Yeah.
