- 0:08[SPEAKER_00]: Let's go back to school.
- 0:11[SPEAKER_00]: Let's go back to school.
- 0:13[SPEAKER_00]: Let's go back to school.
- 0:14[SPEAKER_00]: Let's go back to school.
- 0:15[SPEAKER_00]: Let's go back to school.
- 0:15[SPEAKER_00]: Let's go back to school.
- 0:16[SPEAKER_00]: Let's go back to school.
- 0:17[SPEAKER_00]: Let's go back to school.
- 0:23[SPEAKER_01]: Hi everybody welcome back to go on the same tour on Haley.
- 0:26[SPEAKER_01]: I'm Tara.
- 0:26[SPEAKER_01]: This is Haley.
- 0:27[SPEAKER_01]: Hi, Haley.
- 0:27[SPEAKER_01]: Hi, Tara.
- 0:28[SPEAKER_01]: Happy September, everybody.
- 0:30[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my gosh, it's September.
- 0:32[SPEAKER_00]: It's September.
- 0:33[SPEAKER_00]: Happy Memorial season.
- 0:35[SPEAKER_00]: Happy fall.
- 0:37[SPEAKER_00]: I'm more curious too.
- 0:39[SPEAKER_00]: The feelings as opposed to the solstice.
- 0:43[SPEAKER_00]: But what I was going to say is that my mom sings songs like that.
- 0:47[SPEAKER_00]: But she'll like, when we're trying to get out of the door, when we were younger, like, trying to go, trying to get us to do something.
- 0:52[SPEAKER_00]: She'd add a little, like, song to it.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_01]: I love that.
- 0:55[SPEAKER_01]: I love that.
- 0:57[SPEAKER_00]: She was doing it the other day.
- 0:58[SPEAKER_00]: And when I just did that, I was like, oh my gosh, I've become like my mom.
- 1:01[SPEAKER_00]: I've become my mother.
- 1:02[SPEAKER_01]: I've become my mother.
- 1:04[SPEAKER_00]: I know.
- 1:04[SPEAKER_00]: So all of my singing is really attributed to my mom.
- 1:08[SPEAKER_00]: I have to.
- 1:09[SPEAKER_00]: It's trying to get them to go out of the door to go to school.
- 1:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, honestly, I would also sing a song.
- 1:14[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I could use cream a song sometimes.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_01]: I'd work it to take some time.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_00]: They were louder than others, but she tried to keep the vibes going, you know?
- 1:22[SPEAKER_00]: She tried to get the mood up.
- 1:23[SPEAKER_00]: Because she knew that she ruined the mood for four people at the beginning of the day.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_00]: That would be monstrous.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_00]: That was where everyone involved.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_00]: But it's specifically as it relates to school.
- 1:35[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:35[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 1:36[SPEAKER_00]: Which I imagine a lot of you are back to school already.
- 1:38[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 1:38[SPEAKER_00]: I had it to school or you're you're in the trenches already.
- 1:43[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:43[SPEAKER_00]: You're a student a teacher or you've gone back to school later in life and you're a student in your later years.
- 1:50[SPEAKER_00]: It's true.
- 1:50[SPEAKER_00]: You.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_01]: Probably you either way.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_01]: And as we talked about in our definitely our academia episode and maybe even the episode
- 1:59[SPEAKER_01]: Prior, back to school is a state of mind.
- 2:02[SPEAKER_01]: It's like back to school season.
- 2:04[SPEAKER_01]: I think there are two starts to the year.
- 2:06[SPEAKER_01]: January first and back to school.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_00]: Back to school.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_00]: Of course.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_00]: And I think the back to school is a state of mind if you're no longer in school.
- 2:15[SPEAKER_00]: If you are in school, back to school is a reality for you.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_00]: You go back there.
- 2:22[SPEAKER_00]: But now school season is a state of mind.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_00]: It's because it's so formative like that schedule of the year that like you feel like summer is June and July because that was summer break and then when you get to August I feel like a lot of people are like summers ending but like healing your inner school girl totally person is like letting August be summer to yeah and like that back to school a mindset if you don't absolutely I just love going back to school and I love that
- 2:52[SPEAKER_01]: The year feels like it restarts again, or it's just like a new season comes September first.
- 2:58[SPEAKER_01]: There's just a shift in the air.
- 3:00[SPEAKER_00]: It feels like you can set good goals.
- 3:03[SPEAKER_00]: Get stickers.
- 3:04[SPEAKER_00]: Get good pens.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_00]: Get a new planner.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_00]: Get a new planner.
- 3:08[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, because planners is hard to find a year, year to year planner.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_00]: No, it's really nice.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_00]: It's an August or July.
- 3:16[SPEAKER_00]: to like get ahead of August.
- 3:17[SPEAKER_00]: I know I feel like that's that's lending it to the teachers who are totally back to school journey totally.
- 3:22[SPEAKER_00]: Like that's planners just like don't queue planners at least don't work year to year because I tried to get one in January and they were like what?
- 3:30[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 3:31[SPEAKER_00]: We're already on to twenty twenty six baby.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_00]: I know when I was like oh okay.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_00]: I know.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_01]: Great time to get a clearance one though.
- 3:36[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my gosh, that reminds me, I should get a planner right now.
- 3:40[SPEAKER_00]: It was one that I wanted was sold out.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_00]: And I was like, what do you mean?
- 3:43[SPEAKER_00]: It's January.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_00]: And they sent me a middle finger and sent me straight to September.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_00]: You better report them.
- 3:52[SPEAKER_00]: I know we're going to be aggressive.
- 3:56[SPEAKER_00]: But before we get back to school in our content, we do have some other stuff that is coming back.
- 4:02[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, yes, our fall merch is back in full swing.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_01]: Well, not full swing because we have some other new, well, it's, it's the return of our faves.
- 4:13[SPEAKER_00]: The return of some of these stuff coming up.
- 4:15[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, but we've got so excited for that.
- 4:17[SPEAKER_00]: The fog is Ebo, who I love because we've got poor little backpack on.
- 4:20[SPEAKER_00]: I know.
- 4:21[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, because Ebo shirt on if you're on.
- 4:23[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, if you're with us on YouTube.
- 4:25[SPEAKER_00]: It's, so this one is my favorite.
- 4:27[SPEAKER_00]: They're all cute.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_00]: They're all my favorite, but this one is my favorite.
- 4:31[SPEAKER_01]: I love the fall gazebo, the fall and the winter gazebo.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I agree.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_01]: I love them all.
- 4:37[SPEAKER_01]: But the fall and the winter gazebo just feel like it more girls.
- 4:40[SPEAKER_01]: They do.
- 4:41[SPEAKER_01]: And I love that one.
- 4:42[SPEAKER_01]: I also love our fall essentials.
- 4:44[SPEAKER_01]: We released it last year.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_01]: It is back.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_01]: Love her.
- 4:48[SPEAKER_01]: She tells us what we need.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_01]: The essentials of you.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_00]: Well, Tara also loves her because she wears her at least three times a week.
- 4:54[UNKNOWN]: Shit.
- 4:54[SPEAKER_01]: I don't have to burn these shirts after a while because I'm like, Tyrone.
- 4:58[SPEAKER_00]: No, Tyrone.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_01]: Take your clothes out of it.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_01]: I really do.
- 5:02[SPEAKER_01]: But I'm excited.
- 5:04[SPEAKER_01]: You should wear clothes.
- 5:05[SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely.
- 5:05[SPEAKER_01]: You should wear your clothes.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_01]: But I've been wearing it all August and preparation for this moment.
- 5:10[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not wearing it right now if you're with us on YouTube.
- 5:12[SPEAKER_00]: She wasn't wearing it because she was like, I can't work.
- 5:14[SPEAKER_00]: I can't work.
- 5:15[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to start rumors about me.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, if you're watching a new version of Patreon that's coming out later this month, you will see her in that shirt.
- 5:24[SPEAKER_01]: You will.
- 5:25[SPEAKER_01]: Many do see her.
- 5:27[SPEAKER_01]: Many times, but on that topic, we do have the rewatch club coming back along with a fun little announcement about our next chapter of Patreon.
- 5:34[SPEAKER_01]: So keep an eye out for the rewatch club.
- 5:36[SPEAKER_01]: she will be back, merch-wise, she will also be back in a new form.
- 5:40[SPEAKER_01]: And we have some other new fall merch items that are coming out in the next couple weeks, next month or so.
- 5:47[SPEAKER_00]: Some of them seem familiar, but they're a little different.
- 5:50[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'm really excited.
- 5:52[SPEAKER_00]: Brand new ones because this Gilmore girl season feels monumental.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_00]: Because it was the twenty-fifth anniversary.
- 5:58[SPEAKER_00]: It is our twenty-fifth fall with Gilmore girls.
- 6:01[SPEAKER_00]: Honestly, I think it's the twenty-fifth fall in general.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_00]: Fall didn't exist before the Gilmour roll step.
- 6:05[SPEAKER_00]: Don't we see?
- 6:07[SPEAKER_00]: So, it's true.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_00]: Happy twenty-fifth fall, everyone.
- 6:09[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 6:11[SPEAKER_00]: But is the Gilmour girls twenty-fifth birthday?
- 6:13[SPEAKER_00]: They can rent a car, can rat squirrels, rats.
- 6:18[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know what you've been doing driving that.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_00]: I'm always old.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_00]: I know.
- 6:21[SPEAKER_00]: Well, it wasn't rented.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_00]: They owned that one.
- 6:23[SPEAKER_00]: Sounds true.
- 6:24[SPEAKER_00]: That's true.
- 6:24[SPEAKER_00]: You're so, yeah.
- 6:26[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 6:27[SPEAKER_00]: Um, but we have a lot coming up.
- 6:30[SPEAKER_00]: We have voices about every other week to celebrate.
- 6:34[SPEAKER_00]: We got lots of fall content coming.
- 6:36[SPEAKER_00]: We also have a lot more episodes coming up.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, to enjoy the following.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so we're having a bit of a fall explosion with our episodes because every Tuesday, of course, you're going to get a Gilmore to say.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_01]: And we have some really exciting topics for fall for the month of September.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_01]: I think almost every Wednesday there will be a Gilmore to read.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_01]: Haley has been interviewing a bunch of authors.
- 6:55[SPEAKER_01]: We have so many episodes.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so many good ones.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_01]: So there will be a Gilmore to read release almost every Wednesday of September and then throughout October.
- 7:05[SPEAKER_01]: And on Thursdays, we're going to start rearing some of our favorite episodes to get us excited for fall.
- 7:11[SPEAKER_01]: Last week, we did a Gilmore to say revisited on the girlies first day at school, which is really exciting to listen to.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, you girls, you're babies.
- 7:21[SPEAKER_01]: Listen to these little girls.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_00]: They're so cute.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_00]: Listen to us talk to each other in that stage.
- 7:26[SPEAKER_00]: Not that we didn't know each other, but it was just different.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_00]: It was different.
- 7:29[SPEAKER_00]: Five.
- 7:30[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, because now I can like read your brain.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_00]: I know what you're about to say and I could say it instead.
- 7:34[SPEAKER_01]: So you know, yeah, and it's it's hilarious because like you and Brett same thing and our relationship duration has honestly been probably the same long the arc is the same arc is very similar, but it's funny because we're not getting married though, but we've already been legally attached for quite a while.
- 7:50[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, we've been legally bound for a while, but
- 7:53[SPEAKER_01]: I hope before we even met each other face to face.
- 7:56[SPEAKER_01]: But I was probably playing trivia the other night.
- 7:58[SPEAKER_01]: And I was, we had gotten a question marked wrong that was actually right.
- 8:02[SPEAKER_01]: And so I texted Emily, who does trivia, who's a friend of ours.
- 8:05[SPEAKER_01]: Just be like, hey, we got this question right.
- 8:06[SPEAKER_01]: It wasn't really a big deal, but I kept checking.
- 8:09[SPEAKER_01]: I kept checking.
- 8:09[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, I kept checking to see.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_01]: And Brett was like, why are you fidgeting?
- 8:14[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, he goes, I know you.
- 8:15[SPEAKER_01]: What's going on?
- 8:16[SPEAKER_00]: That's like I just want to make sure we got the picture marked right me.
- 8:20[SPEAKER_00]: You would know that I was like, oh, he was a short right now.
- 8:23[SPEAKER_01]: I loved I loved that he was like, I know your fit.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_01]: That's what he didn't want to.
- 8:27[SPEAKER_01]: And I loved it.
- 8:29[SPEAKER_01]: So I love that we're at that stage in our friendship too, or it's like
- 8:32[SPEAKER_01]: You know me, you know what I'm saying.
- 8:34[SPEAKER_01]: But we were still learning each other.
- 8:35[SPEAKER_00]: We were still learning with each other and I think that was what was fun about that episode as we talked about our experience with school in addition to the first day of school back to school on the show.
- 8:46[SPEAKER_00]: But I think that we're just talking about the show differently than we were there.
- 8:50[SPEAKER_00]: That's like a lot more rigid.
- 8:53[SPEAKER_00]: If you will.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_00]: Not that there was less laughing, but I feel like we are more prone to a silly goose moment now.
- 9:00[SPEAKER_01]: That's fair.
- 9:01[SPEAKER_01]: But it was very cute.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_01]: It was a very serious about our jobs.
- 9:04[SPEAKER_01]: Not that we're not serious.
- 9:05[SPEAKER_01]: We still take this job very seriously.
- 9:08[SPEAKER_01]: But it just was different.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_01]: We were still learning each other, learning our audience, learning in the podcast.
- 9:13[SPEAKER_01]: And it was really our first foray into doing a themed episode.
- 9:18[SPEAKER_01]: Well,
- 9:19[SPEAKER_01]: not so much for you, like Mother's Day and stuff, but I just need for fall.
- 9:22[SPEAKER_01]: Like it was the first time we were leaning into fall, we were leaning into the magic of gold, gold, gold, gold, gold, gold, gold.
- 9:27[SPEAKER_01]: And you will episode.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_01]: That's a better word for it.
- 9:30[SPEAKER_01]: Because we have now done a back to school episode.
- 9:35[SPEAKER_00]: It was an early fall.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_00]: It was the first time we had back to school.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_00]: All of it's live live live live live live live live live live live live live live live live live live live live live live live live live live live live live live live live live live live live live live live live live live live live live live live live live live live live live live live live live live live live live live live live live live
- 9:53[SPEAKER_00]: No, don't burn it.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_00]: It's cute.
- 9:55[SPEAKER_00]: But we have another one coming up this Thursday, which is the academic things apply.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_00]: And there's just one of them to buy.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_00]: That was such a good episode.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_00]: Like fantastic episode.
- 10:07[SPEAKER_00]: It's also an hour and forty minutes, but like I loved that one.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_00]: Worth every minute.
- 10:11[SPEAKER_00]: If you didn't hear it the first time, I highly recommend listening to it on Thursday.
- 10:16[SPEAKER_01]: Even if you did hear it the first time, great realistic.
- 10:18[SPEAKER_00]: Right again.
- 10:19[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I really, really loved that one so much.
- 10:21[SPEAKER_00]: And so I'm really excited to re-erate, have everyone relive that with us.
- 10:26[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe you'll listen to it and be like, girl, what did you like so much about this?
- 10:29[SPEAKER_00]: Do you really have any questions?
- 10:29[SPEAKER_00]: Do you really have any questions?
- 10:32[SPEAKER_00]: No, but I liked that episode.
- 10:34[SPEAKER_00]: It was a good one.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_00]: But every Thursday episode is not an old episode because we have kind of like a double feature next week.
- 10:45[SPEAKER_00]: We'll go ahead and talk about it.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_00]: Grant Lee Phillips.
- 10:48[SPEAKER_00]: We'll be on next Tuesday.
- 10:49[SPEAKER_00]: The town to go for himself.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_00]: So excited.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god.
- 10:54[SPEAKER_00]: I love it.
- 10:54[SPEAKER_01]: It is an angel.
- 10:56[SPEAKER_01]: Literally angel.
- 10:58[SPEAKER_00]: You've got wings.
- 11:00[SPEAKER_00]: That was.
- 11:00[SPEAKER_01]: That was written for him.
- 11:03[SPEAKER_01]: He's just so wonderful.
- 11:05[SPEAKER_01]: And remember so much from the show.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_01]: So next week's episode is going to be with Grandly Phillips.
- 11:09[SPEAKER_01]: We're so excited.
- 11:11[SPEAKER_00]: And something I loved about that episode is like he was in the show, but also creating it in some way too.
- 11:17[SPEAKER_00]: So I think that that's that balance that I love about people that we have on.
- 11:21[SPEAKER_00]: It's never just like someone who would within it.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_00]: It's always someone who's like somehow crafting it around the show, also a fan of the show.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_00]: So I liked that.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_00]: But we didn't want to end in date and with all of our opinions on the town drew Bador because we have so many about his appearances.
- 11:39[SPEAKER_00]: So of course we have to do.
- 11:43[SPEAKER_01]: So that will air next Thursday and our interview with Grant Lane Phillips will air Tuesday.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_00]: Really excited.
- 11:49[SPEAKER_00]: Like we have so many fun episodes coming up this fall.
- 11:53[SPEAKER_00]: Some old favorites being renewed.
- 11:55[SPEAKER_00]: Some new favorites.
- 11:57[SPEAKER_00]: Hopefully.
- 11:58[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 11:58[SPEAKER_00]: Hope so.
- 12:00[SPEAKER_00]: And I just, I'm excited.
- 12:01[SPEAKER_01]: So excited.
- 12:02[SPEAKER_01]: I can't believe we're here.
- 12:03[SPEAKER_01]: We've been talking about this for so long.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_01]: So I know.
- 12:06[SPEAKER_01]: Really excited to do fall with you guys.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_01]: And speaking of, if you guys want to do fall with us in person, our only live event this year is going to be returning to Ann Arbor for Stars Hello Saturday.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_01]: And it is going to be bigger and better than it was last year.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_01]: And last year is pretty incredible.
- 12:22[SPEAKER_01]: So it was so fun.
- 12:24[SPEAKER_01]: It was so much fun.
- 12:26[SPEAKER_00]: One of my favorite things about it is that Ann Arbor is just such a cute college town because the University of Michigan is right there, but like it just felt so small town cozy, but at rock paper scissors who hosted Lisa and Lane are angels.
- 12:41[SPEAKER_00]: They had a yellow dz station.
- 12:44[SPEAKER_00]: We could get some yellow dz.
- 12:46[SPEAKER_00]: And then when you're walking around town, you know, going to a coffee shop, going to get lunch, doing whatever you're doing, between events at Rock Paper Scissors, everyone is holding yellow daisies.
- 12:56[SPEAKER_00]: And it feels like Sadie Sadie.
- 12:58[SPEAKER_00]: Sadie Sadie.
- 13:00[SPEAKER_00]: That's not lazy.
- 13:01[SPEAKER_00]: Sadie Sadie.
- 13:03[SPEAKER_00]: Like where everyone is walking around town.
- 13:05[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, there's daisies everywhere.
- 13:06[SPEAKER_00]: It's not that much of an explosion, but it's just cool.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_01]: And you can spot every people's like, bent the event.
- 13:12[SPEAKER_01]: And then you kind of know your amongst friends.
- 13:14[SPEAKER_00]: And like, yeah, you can strike up conversation.
- 13:16[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, because you're tasty.
- 13:18[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 13:18[SPEAKER_00]: So that's what you mean.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_00]: But there's costume contest, there's an event with us, coffee coffee coffee.
- 13:23[SPEAKER_01]: There are a couple of friends with us.
- 13:25[SPEAKER_01]: So we're hosting coffee coffee coffee again, which we have last year.
- 13:28[SPEAKER_00]: That's like a podcast sort of episode where we're just like basically like everything that you've ever wanted in terms of like talking to us during an episode, we will now talk back.
- 13:39[SPEAKER_00]: Mm-hmm.
- 13:40[SPEAKER_00]: That's kind of the format of that one.
- 13:42[SPEAKER_01]: It's true.
- 13:43[SPEAKER_00]: But then I was born.
- 13:43[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to do a birthday bash, a twenty-fifth anniversary birthday bash for the Gilmore girls.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_01]: And we'll be there.
- 13:50[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 13:51[SPEAKER_00]: Car rental cars.
- 13:53[SPEAKER_00]: Just kidding.
- 13:54[SPEAKER_01]: But there will be round cakes.
- 13:55[SPEAKER_01]: There will be round cakes.
- 13:56[SPEAKER_01]: There will be a lot of things.
- 13:58[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 13:59[SPEAKER_01]: With your ticket, you get like a boat tote and oh my god.
- 14:03[SPEAKER_00]: There's so, so cute.
- 14:05[SPEAKER_00]: I cannot wait to get a boat tote when she said that I was like, you read my mind.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_00]: You know exactly what I wanted.
- 14:09[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be a little snacks and drinks and we'll be there.
- 14:12[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be a lot of fun.
- 14:13[SPEAKER_01]: And then the next morning.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, right.
- 14:16[SPEAKER_01]: The charm bar forgot about the charm bar.
- 14:18[SPEAKER_01]: And then the next morning is coffee coffee coffee with us, which again is kind of like a live show live episode.
- 14:24[SPEAKER_01]: It's much more intimate.
- 14:25[SPEAKER_01]: I think we talked about it so much on the podcast that like going to Ann Arbor changed the way we viewed.
- 14:30[SPEAKER_01]: It was live experiences.
- 14:32[SPEAKER_01]: It's it's so good.
- 14:33[SPEAKER_01]: It's gonna be great again, and then you start all of a sudden.
- 14:36[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, you get like a coffee gift and there's gonna be pop tarts and coffee and pop tarts.
- 14:43[SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't get those same cards last year.
- 14:46[SPEAKER_00]: They were so good for that day.
- 14:49[SPEAKER_00]: They were so good.
- 14:50[SPEAKER_00]: Oh God.
- 14:51[SPEAKER_00]: They were vegan.
- 14:53[SPEAKER_00]: They were awesome.
- 14:55[SPEAKER_00]: And she didn't even know I couldn't have dairy.
- 14:58[SPEAKER_01]: It was fake.
- 14:58[SPEAKER_01]: It was fake.
- 14:59[SPEAKER_01]: It was so good.
- 15:01[SPEAKER_01]: And then the stars hold us Saturday event will take place.
- 15:03[SPEAKER_01]: Like Haley said, there's a costume contest.
- 15:05[SPEAKER_01]: The entire store is just like decked out like stars hollow.
- 15:10[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, it's so perfect.
- 15:11[SPEAKER_01]: So much merch.
- 15:12[SPEAKER_01]: And we're going to have exclusive merch there that you cannot get on our website.
- 15:15[SPEAKER_01]: So if you are coming in and Arbor, you will be able to see a collab between rock paper scissors and us, which I will be some really fun exclusive merch work currently, finalizing all the little details.
- 15:27[SPEAKER_01]: And then on Saturday night, there's going to be in person live trivia hosted by the two of us and it's going to be hard.
- 15:33[SPEAKER_01]: It's for the girl morals only.
- 15:34[SPEAKER_00]: This is what I've been dreaming of.
- 15:37[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I have been wanting to do in person, girl morals trivia for forever for a long time.
- 15:41[SPEAKER_00]: Unfortunately, we cannot be on your team because we are really excited because this is for the girl moral obsessed.
- 15:49[SPEAKER_00]: And I bet that there's some of you out there that know the show way better than we do.
- 15:53[SPEAKER_00]: Like a totally in times better.
- 15:55[SPEAKER_00]: And you're, this is for you.
- 15:57[SPEAKER_00]: You're gonna get it.
- 15:58[SPEAKER_00]: There will be, there will be, it's for everyone.
- 16:01[SPEAKER_01]: I was gonna say, I just want to, not everyone is kind of an exclude anybody, but it's gonna be, it's gonna be like deep cut questions.
- 16:08[SPEAKER_01]: Cause there are some questions.
- 16:10[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sure when people go to trivia and sometimes even if it's Gilmour Girl seemed, I've actually never done it.
- 16:15[SPEAKER_01]: Where it sometimes like, okay, that was a soft fall.
- 16:17[SPEAKER_00]: I'm a fan.
- 16:19[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and but every time we would really excited, it's gonna be a lot of fun.
- 16:29[SPEAKER_01]: There are a bunch of opportunities to see us, staying out with us, but we would love to see you guys there.
- 16:35[SPEAKER_00]: And I also love that there's some other shops in town in Ann Arbor, involved.
- 16:39[SPEAKER_00]: There's a restaurant called Literati, which is like, if you are like a long time fan of Gilmore Girls, you know that is Justin Marie's ship name.
- 16:47[SPEAKER_00]: Complete then related to the bookstore, but it just feels so perfect and in keeping that we have a little bookstore to pair with it.
- 16:55[SPEAKER_00]: There's some other shops around town that are partnering with them as well for the event.
- 16:59[SPEAKER_00]: And actually,
- 17:01[SPEAKER_00]: It's going to be so much fun.
- 17:02[SPEAKER_00]: It's going to be so good.
- 17:03[SPEAKER_01]: You have plenty of stickers for the boat to see all of it.
- 17:06[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, it's so much fun.
- 17:09[SPEAKER_01]: The pop tarts we just had such a great time last year and it's going to be like I said, bigger and better this year so you can go to the notes in our our show notes and we'll have a link to buy tickets to any of the events that you want to come to.
- 17:20[SPEAKER_01]: socials to be on our socials.
- 17:22[SPEAKER_01]: We've already announced it on our socials and you can follow the link in our Instagram bio to get tickets as well.
- 17:29[SPEAKER_01]: We're so excited.
- 17:29[SPEAKER_01]: We can't wait to see you guys.
- 17:31[SPEAKER_01]: Some of you have already message us to be like, hey, I can't wait to see you.
- 17:33[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to be there.
- 17:34[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to be there.
- 17:35[SPEAKER_01]: I work so excited.
- 17:37[SPEAKER_00]: I'm so excited.
- 17:38[SPEAKER_01]: I'm making friendship bracelets.
- 17:39[SPEAKER_00]: See you guys, whatever you're ready.
- 17:40[SPEAKER_01]: Someone will be show girl themed.
- 17:42[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sure.
- 17:42[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my god, I'm sure.
- 17:44[SPEAKER_00]: Can you believe that we have like a Taylor Swift album release?
- 17:49[SPEAKER_00]: And then two days later, it's the twenty-fifth anniversary of Gilmour rolls.
- 17:51[SPEAKER_00]: Like, it's Christmas for you.
- 17:53[SPEAKER_00]: It's a, it's fall, it's fall is Christmas for the girlies.
- 17:58[SPEAKER_01]: Go to excited.
- 17:59[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm really excited to hear this album.
- 18:02[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's gonna be really good.
- 18:03[SPEAKER_01]: We haven't talked about it yet.
- 18:05[SPEAKER_01]: No, but we will.
- 18:06[SPEAKER_01]: Don't you worry.
- 18:07[SPEAKER_01]: We will.
- 18:08[SPEAKER_01]: So before we get into the back to school of it all, last week's episode, we ended on kind of a cliffhanger kind of a, oh, we need to survey the masses for this one because we had a really difficult time voting on who the best man of Gilmour Girls was.
- 18:23[SPEAKER_01]: And it came down to Luke V. Jess by a landslide the besties voted for Luke.
- 18:30[SPEAKER_01]: by a landslide.
- 18:31[SPEAKER_01]: But here is, I wish I take in a screenshot to actually read to you, but I think I can do it from memory.
- 18:38[SPEAKER_01]: The reason that someone gave that made me go, okay, I'm on board on board because I had Luke over Jess.
- 18:44[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, I have a reason too.
- 18:47[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, I wonder if they're the same.
- 18:49[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe Jess is a good man because of Luke.
- 18:53[SPEAKER_01]: Same, that's exactly what I wrote down.
- 18:55[SPEAKER_01]: And I was like,
- 18:57[SPEAKER_00]: You're right.
- 18:58[SPEAKER_00]: I literally wrote that down.
- 18:59[SPEAKER_00]: Let me see what I wrote.
- 19:01[SPEAKER_00]: I said, Luke made Jess a better man and as much as Luke carries nothing but faults as he ages, we can't look at Jess without his foundation of how he changed because of Luke.
- 19:11[SPEAKER_00]: We don't really know the ins and vats of Jess.
- 19:13[SPEAKER_00]: We romanticize him a lot, but if we go back to the reason why Jess changed, I, one hundred percent think it was Luke.
- 19:20[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, totally.
- 19:21[SPEAKER_00]: And only a good man.
- 19:22[SPEAKER_00]: What inspired that?
- 19:24[SPEAKER_01]: Amen.
- 19:25[SPEAKER_01]: Love that.
- 19:25[SPEAKER_01]: So the answer is Luke.
- 19:27[SPEAKER_01]: And that is exactly what Sebastian can all you said.
- 19:29[SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, I was when I saw the pull, I was like, it's just if you've not seen his arms, but I was like, bad men can have arms.
- 19:38[SPEAKER_01]: Well, he doesn't have to be a bad man.
- 19:40[SPEAKER_00]: No, I'm just saying in general, not him.
- 19:43[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that was the case.
- 19:44[SPEAKER_01]: You can't measure a man's goodness by his arms.
- 19:48[SPEAKER_00]: His wisdom.
- 19:49[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 19:50[SPEAKER_00]: He can.
- 19:51[SPEAKER_00]: Unless the competition is his arms.
- 19:54[SPEAKER_01]: It's about arms.
- 19:56[SPEAKER_00]: But in this case, yeah, if it was about arms, just would win by a landslide.
- 20:02[SPEAKER_00]: But because it doesn't bow.
- 20:04[SPEAKER_00]: Not that.
- 20:06[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, well, hopefully the people at home are satisfied by that answer.
- 20:09[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we can change with something.
- 20:11[SPEAKER_01]: Not champagne.
- 20:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 20:13[SPEAKER_01]: It is the link champagne.
- 20:15[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, let's talk about going back to school.
- 20:17[SPEAKER_01]: As you guys know, we let's go.
- 20:22[SPEAKER_01]: So on Thursday, we re-aired our episode from twenty-twenty-two.
- 20:28[SPEAKER_01]: The girl is first day of school, which is, or the girl is first day at school.
- 20:34[SPEAKER_00]: I don't remember.
- 20:35[SPEAKER_01]: Because it's the more life's first date at, you know, at Shelton at Shelton.
- 20:39[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 20:40[SPEAKER_01]: And we talked about all of the first day of school episodes on Gilmore Girls.
- 20:44[SPEAKER_01]: You want to take us through them?
- 20:46[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 20:47[SPEAKER_00]: I show.
- 20:47[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know why I said that like Leo.
- 20:49[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 20:50[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 20:50[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 20:51[SPEAKER_00]: I would love to.
- 20:53[SPEAKER_00]: So our first one, of course, season one, they'll realize first day at Chilton, because it is bothlorized first day at Chilton.
- 21:03[SPEAKER_00]: No explanation needed for that one, because that was the whole setup of the show.
- 21:06[SPEAKER_00]: It's where you're going to jump in.
- 21:07[SPEAKER_00]: It's true.
- 21:08[SPEAKER_00]: The second season is a bit confusing, because there is summer school, but then they go back to school.
- 21:14[SPEAKER_00]: So it's kind of hammers and vails, vails, vails, vails.
- 21:19[SPEAKER_00]: Because they go to summer school, but it is Nick and Norris in Nancy.
- 21:24[SPEAKER_00]: Because when they go back to school, for the regular term.
- 21:28[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 21:29[SPEAKER_00]: Season three is a fave.
- 21:30[SPEAKER_00]: It's haunted leg.
- 21:31[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, love episode.
- 21:33[SPEAKER_00]: Such a good one.
- 21:34[SPEAKER_00]: Four.
- 21:35[SPEAKER_00]: Another self-explanatory one, the Loyalized First Day at Yale.
- 21:39[SPEAKER_00]: Because she's going.
- 21:40[SPEAKER_00]: To Yale.
- 21:42[SPEAKER_00]: Number five season five is written the stars where she's moving back into Yale and means one Mr. Logan Hansberger.
- 21:50[SPEAKER_00]: Before he was a loser.
- 21:54[SPEAKER_00]: I love him.
- 21:55[SPEAKER_00]: I love him.
- 21:55[SPEAKER_00]: I love him.
- 21:57[SPEAKER_00]: Season six also has two.
- 21:59[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 22:00[SPEAKER_00]: But one of them she doesn't go back.
- 22:02[SPEAKER_00]: It is the ungraduate where she goes back to school, but she's not going back to school.
- 22:06[SPEAKER_00]: Everyone else is.
- 22:08[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 22:08[SPEAKER_00]: And then the second part of that is when she actually does go back to school for the winter term, which is the perfect dress.
- 22:14[SPEAKER_00]: And then for season seven is wonderful, marvelous, where she meets Lucy and Olivia.
- 22:20[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 22:20[SPEAKER_00]: She has to do this.
- 22:22[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, wow.
- 22:23[SPEAKER_01]: Good times.
- 22:23[SPEAKER_01]: And then we also included spring.
- 22:25[SPEAKER_01]: because she goes back to children.
- 22:27[SPEAKER_01]: It's more of a return of less of a first day of school.
- 22:29[SPEAKER_01]: She's just a situation.
- 22:31[SPEAKER_01]: She's just like physically going back to school.
- 22:34[SPEAKER_00]: Physically, she's going back to her school.
- 22:36[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 22:38[SPEAKER_01]: But also in addition to discussing the first day of school episodes, we also talked about our relationship with school, kind of going back to what you were saying about how we talked to each other a little differently, which I think is listening to that.
- 22:47[SPEAKER_01]: Me too, I was like, I'm so cute.
- 22:50[SPEAKER_01]: Girl, these were so cute.
- 22:51[SPEAKER_01]: And it's funny because you were talking about how the early seasons of Gilmore Girls really stress you out because of Roy's study ethic and just the idea of studying tests, papers, you know, how we used to have stress dreams, we definitely still do about like, yeah.
- 23:08[SPEAKER_01]: It's in class, failing school, not being there.
- 23:13[SPEAKER_00]: Like, there was like a class that you have a test in, but you haven't shown up all year.
- 23:17[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 23:18[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 23:20[SPEAKER_01]: Definitely like everything I was talking about in that episode about how I have it's mostly college that like I'm at my high school But I'm in college and I didn't drop the class and I haven't been going the whole semester and I have to now go and talk to the teacher and be like hey, I'm sorry.
- 23:38[SPEAKER_01]: I should have dropped this class sooner
- 23:41[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know why.
- 23:41[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not as a stress dream I have.
- 23:44[SPEAKER_01]: Pretty odd.
- 23:44[SPEAKER_00]: It gives me stress.
- 23:45[SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't hear it.
- 23:46[SPEAKER_00]: Twenty twenty.
- 23:46[SPEAKER_00]: I've had that one, too.
- 23:48[SPEAKER_00]: I also have a very particular school that my dream always takes me to.
- 23:53[SPEAKER_00]: And it's like, in my mind, it's like mapped to what my high school was like, but it looks completely different.
- 23:59[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, kind of similar for me.
- 24:01[SPEAKER_01]: I'm at my high school.
- 24:02[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just in like two very specific hallways that are like, yeah, parallel to each other that I haven't been in.
- 24:09[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 24:09[SPEAKER_00]: Are we stressing you out?
- 24:10[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 24:11[SPEAKER_01]: I hope we're not stressing you guys out.
- 24:12[SPEAKER_01]: But I'm really curious as we're moving through season one in our new iteration of Patreon.
- 24:19[SPEAKER_01]: If you were feeling the same stress.
- 24:21[SPEAKER_00]: Well, what's interesting is that it didn't stress me out when I watched it.
- 24:27[SPEAKER_00]: It was like motivation to study because that's what Rory was doing.
- 24:32[SPEAKER_00]: And so like it doesn't stress me out.
- 24:35[SPEAKER_00]: It didn't trust me out at the time.
- 24:36[SPEAKER_00]: It stresses me out in retrospect, thinking about using those episodes because they remind me of what I was doing.
- 24:44[SPEAKER_00]: And so it's less about what we're doing and more of like thinking of worry in terms of my life of like, for example, that damn donnery.
- 24:52[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, where you have so much homework to do, why are you making dinner for your boyfriend?
- 24:58[SPEAKER_00]: Why have you spent so much time trying to find this one CD?
- 25:00[SPEAKER_00]: How did you get into this dress by yourself?
- 25:03[SPEAKER_00]: And why are you wearing a bump-it and not doing your homework?
- 25:06[SPEAKER_00]: Like, real question.
- 25:08[SPEAKER_00]: The stress is me out.
- 25:09[SPEAKER_00]: And so, as we're going through, like, and rewatching it, I do get that anxiety for what she isn't isn't doing.
- 25:16[SPEAKER_00]: And I had forgotten that I had said that.
- 25:19[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm really glad that I had, like, revisited that thought.
- 25:22[SPEAKER_00]: So I completely forgot about that.
- 25:25[SPEAKER_00]: And so, as we're going through and kind of recapping after we watch an episode,
- 25:30[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, well, that's just me out.
- 25:31[SPEAKER_00]: Ten out of ten, but it's just me out.
- 25:33[SPEAKER_00]: And I wasn't really like recognizing that, like, that was a thought that I had had a long time ago, and it's now happening.
- 25:40[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm putting, like, articulate, articulating more of that stress is coming from, like, concerted and wrapped-est.
- 25:47[SPEAKER_01]: Well, that's just as you are because of the rummage sale.
- 25:50[SPEAKER_00]: Rummage sale, but she has so much work to do, and there's a rummage sale, and they're going to New York spontaneously.
- 25:57[SPEAKER_00]: Like, she has so much to do, and she's just wandering around town.
- 26:00[SPEAKER_00]: Go home.
- 26:02[SPEAKER_00]: Do your homework.
- 26:04[SPEAKER_00]: Every time she's not doing her homework, I'm like, this isn't realistic.
- 26:07[SPEAKER_00]: Go home.
- 26:08[SPEAKER_00]: Go home.
- 26:08[SPEAKER_00]: Where's your books?
- 26:10[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that touches me a lot so much.
- 26:12[SPEAKER_00]: Um, but I wonder if other people feel the same about it because worry Gilmore asks study in spell is like a phenomenon.
- 26:20[SPEAKER_00]: Because it really is.
- 26:22[SPEAKER_00]: If you Google worry Gilmore study in spell, you will get so many videos.
- 26:27[SPEAKER_00]: Like some of them have like three million views of like a low-fi soundtrack of worry studying for fifteen minutes straight.
- 26:34[SPEAKER_00]: Like they do Pomodora method.
- 26:36[SPEAKER_00]: Like there's dozens of them that have millions of views.
- 26:39[SPEAKER_00]: There's even one video that I clicked onto.
- 26:41[SPEAKER_00]: The user name is Mildred Sauce and her name is Millie and she is a Yale student and she does a what is it called Yale student lives like Roy Gilmore for a week and so that video has like almost a million views to so there's just like this phenomenon on YouTube of people seeking out watching Roy Gilmore
- 27:03[SPEAKER_00]: in like a montage of just her studying at the kitchen table, reading on the couch, being at school that like, focusing on that?
- 27:12[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, well, I was watching full episodes.
- 27:15[SPEAKER_00]: We didn't have any edits.
- 27:17[SPEAKER_00]: Back when I was, back when I was doing the schools.
- 27:20[SPEAKER_01]: But you would have been
- 27:21[SPEAKER_00]: But I would have, because it feels like Oregon more is like the epitome of like smart girl from the early two thousand.
- 27:28[SPEAKER_00]: I was trying to think of someone out to like kind of matched that same energy of like she was cute.
- 27:33[SPEAKER_00]: She was cool.
- 27:34[SPEAKER_00]: She liked fun things, but she also just really loved school.
- 27:39[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, because even if you search on Pinterest, like feel like type in like Oregon more S, the first thing that comes up is study motivation.
- 27:45[SPEAKER_00]: And there's like collages of like
- 27:49[SPEAKER_00]: motivation for school and worry is like every single one of them.
- 27:53[SPEAKER_00]: So, and I did take a poll with our besties on Instagram and the people who said that worrying Elmore was their inspiration won out just a little bit.
- 28:04[SPEAKER_00]: The other two options were like no.
- 28:08[SPEAKER_00]: I see myself in her, but she didn't inspire me.
- 28:10[SPEAKER_00]: And I imagine that was like people who are slightly older, who weren't going through school when they watched it.
- 28:15[SPEAKER_00]: They saw themselves in her, but maybe it wasn't an inspiration for them.
- 28:18[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe they've already moved on and have to ask that to you.
- 28:22[SPEAKER_00]: But the worry-gum art is an inspiration for me.
- 28:24[SPEAKER_00]: I think I said a thousand percent.
- 28:27[SPEAKER_00]: one out for that interesting.
- 28:30[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like it is something that like definitely is prevalent in the culture of rewatching Gilmore girls or like if you love Gilmore girls.
- 28:39[SPEAKER_00]: I've seen people on TikTok who've never been watched Gilmore girls who talk about where you go more studying interesting.
- 28:44[SPEAKER_01]: She's a little, she's a little study icon in that girl.
- 28:47[SPEAKER_01]: She really is and I think that
- 28:50[SPEAKER_01]: She represents, I mean, we've talked about academia on the show and how crucial it is, but like her world is really what emphasizes that and puts the emphasis on it, especially in the first three seasons.
- 29:01[SPEAKER_01]: I mean obviously in earlier seasons because of college, but it does mean awful little bit.
- 29:06[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like those early seasons, her like striving to get into Harvard and
- 29:12[SPEAKER_01]: And everything that's around her rivalry with Paris, I feel is all fueled by school.
- 29:19[SPEAKER_01]: And by school, they're in love with it.
- 29:20[SPEAKER_00]: It's like it's ambition because she is trying to get into school.
- 29:25[SPEAKER_00]: When she's in school, it's more about being there.
- 29:28[SPEAKER_00]: Because I think I called school plot point in seasons one through three.
- 29:31[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and a location in four and five, six kind of ish.
- 29:36[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, six ish because things go awry.
- 29:40[SPEAKER_00]: Famously she drops out of school.
- 29:43[SPEAKER_00]: But I think that there are some moments in four and five that feel really collegiate that if you are in that mindset of the first three seasons, it's fun to watch things from four and five in a ambitious way and like a manifesting your future sort of way, like wanting to be in college.
- 30:02[SPEAKER_00]: But if you are striving to get into college or even if you are in college and
- 30:07[SPEAKER_00]: you're needing to get through the year and get through your studies.
- 30:09[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's really one through three because it has that like, pressure to it, but like, that can be exciting because she's trying to get an Harvard.
- 30:17[SPEAKER_01]: Totally.
- 30:19[SPEAKER_01]: Totally.
- 30:19[SPEAKER_01]: Totally agree.
- 30:20[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so with that in mind, that Wrigelmore is kind of this emblem for like the academic aspect of Gilmore girls and that she's such a study in spell.
- 30:30[SPEAKER_01]: I know that we went through the first day of school episodes a few years ago, but I would love to build with you like,
- 30:37[SPEAKER_01]: The top ten most academic school vibe episodes of Gilmore Girls.
- 30:43[SPEAKER_01]: Are we going?
- 30:44[SPEAKER_01]: It is so hard.
- 30:47[SPEAKER_01]: Are we going to include my first question?
- 30:50[SPEAKER_01]: Are we going to include the first day of school episodes?
- 30:55[SPEAKER_00]: We have to, right?
- 30:57[SPEAKER_01]: But all of them?
- 30:59[SPEAKER_00]: No, we don't.
- 31:01[SPEAKER_00]: Not all of them feel like peak academia or like even like feel like peak like ambition toward school.
- 31:13[SPEAKER_00]: That like if we're comparing the lower-rise first day at Chilton versus written in the stars, very different vibes.
- 31:22[SPEAKER_00]: And I wouldn't include it.
- 31:24[SPEAKER_00]: I agree.
- 31:26[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so of the first day of school episodes, which episodes do we want to include on that list?
- 31:33[SPEAKER_00]: I definitely include both first days.
- 31:35[SPEAKER_00]: Despite the fact that little more or less first day, Yale is not particularly academic.
- 31:42[SPEAKER_00]: I'm academically inclined.
- 31:44[SPEAKER_00]: She's not studying.
- 31:45[SPEAKER_00]: She's not taking any tasks.
- 31:47[SPEAKER_00]: She's not really reading, but I think that if you are
- 31:52[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe not.
- 31:52[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe that's not it.
- 31:53[SPEAKER_00]: It's just she's not.
- 31:55[SPEAKER_00]: She's at school.
- 31:56[SPEAKER_00]: She's moving.
- 31:57[SPEAKER_00]: This was her dream.
- 31:58[SPEAKER_00]: And she has achieved her academic dream and is moving in.
- 32:03[SPEAKER_00]: Is that count?
- 32:04[SPEAKER_00]: There's so many other ones though.
- 32:06[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 32:09[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe the other one I would include though is one hundred percent on to leg.
- 32:13[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 32:13[SPEAKER_00]: That one for sure.
- 32:15[SPEAKER_01]: I love that episode.
- 32:16[SPEAKER_01]: Me too.
- 32:17[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 32:17[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm going to add the Lorelaise first aid children and haunted like here.
- 32:22[SPEAKER_01]: first.
- 32:23[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 32:23[SPEAKER_01]: The first episode I wrote down was the Dear Hunters.
- 32:25[SPEAKER_01]: That episode is so it is the epitome of academia on Gilmore Girls.
- 32:32[SPEAKER_01]: You start with school supply shopping.
- 32:35[SPEAKER_01]: Come on.
- 32:35[SPEAKER_01]: It's the craziest.
- 32:37[SPEAKER_00]: She's at school.
- 32:39[SPEAKER_00]: She's studying for a test.
- 32:40[SPEAKER_01]: She's like, gotten a bad grade.
- 32:43[SPEAKER_01]: She's studying for a test.
- 32:44[SPEAKER_01]: She falls asleep.
- 32:45[SPEAKER_01]: There's a parent, a parent's night at the school.
- 32:49[SPEAKER_01]: That is like, oh, my God.
- 32:51[SPEAKER_01]: I remember when my parents had to go to nights like that.
- 32:54[SPEAKER_00]: I would, when they would get home, I'd grill them.
- 32:55[SPEAKER_00]: I'd go like, what they say about me.
- 32:56[SPEAKER_00]: Do they love me?
- 32:58[SPEAKER_00]: Am I the top of the class?
- 33:01[SPEAKER_00]: That feels like you were beloved.
- 33:06[SPEAKER_01]: What is the next one you wrote down though?
- 33:07[SPEAKER_01]: Because I exited season one after this.
- 33:11[SPEAKER_00]: Me too.
- 33:12[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 33:13[SPEAKER_01]: What did you write down next?
- 33:15[SPEAKER_00]: I had a hard time with this next one, but I ultimately decided on hammers and bails because of the summer school aspect of it, and that it feels like overachieving.
- 33:28[SPEAKER_00]: That it's like she realizes she needs these things for school.
- 33:32[SPEAKER_00]: She's building a house.
- 33:34[SPEAKER_00]: There's a hammer.
- 33:35[SPEAKER_00]: That's a hammer.
- 33:37[SPEAKER_00]: That's a hammer.
- 33:38[SPEAKER_00]: I don't necessarily need it on this list, but that is the next one I wrote down because of the like, ambitious nature of it of her being like, whoa, I've got to go build a house in order to get into college.
- 33:51[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so how would that one measure up against Nick and Norris and Nancy?
- 33:55[SPEAKER_01]: Did you write down wrote trip to Harvard?
- 33:58[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't.
- 34:00[SPEAKER_01]: I wrote that one down because it feels very like academia.
- 34:04[SPEAKER_01]: I totally get it.
- 34:05[SPEAKER_01]: like manifesting like this is this is this is the dream I'm dreaming and it's right in front of me but I have to work really hard to get it okay can I tell you the one that I wrote down first for season two it's like mother like daughter because when I think of like academia and children I always think of the puffs
- 34:26[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I always think of them like being in headmaster Charleston's office and even before that voice sitting at the table with her Walkman on and she's like listening to her music and they're in the dining hall because like I feel like
- 34:41[SPEAKER_01]: with this one school is in session for both of the Gilmore girls, like, and it's also about taking school outside of the classroom.
- 34:50[SPEAKER_01]: It's still in school, but it's also a little after school, Laura lies involved, the whole fashion show happened.
- 34:58[SPEAKER_01]: She's in the booster club.
- 35:00[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 35:00[SPEAKER_01]: So I don't know, this one feels like completely centered around school in a lot of ways.
- 35:05[SPEAKER_00]: And that's why I chose actually being in the classroom or federal time studying exactly.
- 35:12[SPEAKER_01]: So that was the last one I put.
- 35:16[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 35:16[SPEAKER_00]: I think this list is going to be longer than me.
- 35:18[SPEAKER_00]: Expect.
- 35:19[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 35:19[SPEAKER_01]: I'm trying to get it down to ten.
- 35:21[SPEAKER_01]: I've wanted to do like a top ten episodes.
- 35:24[SPEAKER_01]: There's no way.
- 35:24[SPEAKER_00]: But we'll keep trying.
- 35:26[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.
- 35:27[SPEAKER_00]: After like mother like daughter, I put runaway little boy.
- 35:29[SPEAKER_01]: Me too.
- 35:30[SPEAKER_01]: I put that one too.
- 35:31[SPEAKER_01]: Because I love that they bring the Shakespeare component to life.
- 35:35[SPEAKER_01]: They're at school.
- 35:36[SPEAKER_01]: They bring school to start hollow, which is kind of new.
- 35:38[SPEAKER_01]: The only other time we've seen that is in concert interrupters when the girl is come to the rummage sale famously.
- 35:44[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, they get stressed out.
- 35:46[SPEAKER_01]: And I always think of that episode.
- 35:48[SPEAKER_01]: I think of like motherlike daughter and run away a little boy.
- 35:52[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, definitely that one.
- 35:53[SPEAKER_00]: Because it's like this movement of school throughout the whole episode that like worries really focused on whether it's at school, in Star's Hollow, at the performance.
- 36:04[SPEAKER_00]: I love it.
- 36:05[SPEAKER_00]: And it even like infiltrates her relationship because of what they're doing at school.
- 36:10[SPEAKER_00]: Totally.
- 36:10[SPEAKER_00]: That one's a fun one.
- 36:13[SPEAKER_00]: The next one that I wrote down was back in the saddle again.
- 36:16[SPEAKER_01]: I wrote that down as an honorable mention because it is again kind of taking school outside of school.
- 36:23[SPEAKER_01]: It's in school.
- 36:23[SPEAKER_01]: It's out of school.
- 36:24[SPEAKER_01]: Richard's involved.
- 36:25[SPEAKER_01]: It's about like a parent sponsoring a project.
- 36:31[SPEAKER_01]: And so yeah, there is a lot of school involved.
- 36:33[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 36:35[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 36:37[SPEAKER_01]: It's an honorable mention.
- 36:39[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's an honorable mention for me.
- 36:41[SPEAKER_00]: I think that the reason I would put that one over like mother like daughter is because the work that's being done.
- 36:47[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's like it's more of like I would put like mother like daughter in the same category as Ted couples make night out because it's more of like around school, but it's not actually at school.
- 37:03[SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't, there's no schoolwork involved in what's happening.
- 37:07[SPEAKER_00]: It's really the social aspect of school.
- 37:10[SPEAKER_00]: It is the social aspect of school.
- 37:12[SPEAKER_01]: But I do think that's a part of
- 37:15[SPEAKER_01]: school.
- 37:16[SPEAKER_00]: You know, like, I love the face you just made school.
- 37:21[SPEAKER_00]: My little scrunchie face school.
- 37:22[SPEAKER_00]: You say it was scrunchie face.
- 37:23[SPEAKER_00]: I get it, but it feels more emphasized.
- 37:26[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 37:27[SPEAKER_01]: There's a lot of emphasis on that.
- 37:28[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 37:29[SPEAKER_01]: Let's come back to that.
- 37:30[SPEAKER_01]: What did you?
- 37:31[SPEAKER_01]: What else besides haunted leg in season three did you put down?
- 37:34[SPEAKER_00]: I put application anxiety because of the anxiety about the application.
- 37:41[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 37:43[SPEAKER_00]: Because like they're at that talk, that Vory and Paris are giving with the admissions advisors, I think, and then when Emily introduces to Laura Lie about what school, like how she needs to be applying to school, they go to that weirdo couple who's quizzing them with their
- 38:04[SPEAKER_00]: kids who with bad kids.
- 38:08[SPEAKER_00]: Definitely accidentally kissed one time.
- 38:10[SPEAKER_00]: Did I say that?
- 38:14[SPEAKER_00]: But I've had that one done.
- 38:16[SPEAKER_01]: I actually didn't have any others that I felt were like true.
- 38:19[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you could make an argument for I solemnly swear, you can make an argument.
- 38:24[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't do that on Facebook.
- 38:25[SPEAKER_00]: It felt petty.
- 38:26[SPEAKER_00]: I did put the big one.
- 38:27[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 38:28[SPEAKER_00]: Because it's like, it is all about getting into school.
- 38:30[SPEAKER_00]: That is cool.
- 38:32[SPEAKER_00]: It's Paris.
- 38:33[SPEAKER_00]: It's also famously the expansion.
- 38:36[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, you're so right, the expansion suki, the expansion.
- 38:40[SPEAKER_00]: And then my other one that was highly controversial is here comes the sun because if you take out all of the Jess parts, it's all school.
- 38:51[SPEAKER_01]: It's only about school.
- 38:52[SPEAKER_01]: It's about Ruby's Victorian who cares if I'm pretty if I fail my finals.
- 38:56[SPEAKER_01]: I know.
- 38:57[SPEAKER_01]: And the Jess and her she better the only reason I didn't write it down.
- 39:00[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but if you if you want real study like vibes that really Oh her with like the book up like she's got everything all laid out one hundred percent That's not a hundred percent and then the end yeah, I was like why is everyone calling you the valetic tour?
- 39:17[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god, it's gonna make me cry.
- 39:19[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, totally I have to write speech and remember remember but
- 39:23[SPEAKER_01]: Would you then say that those are strings Pinocchio is also?
- 39:27[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't include it.
- 39:28[SPEAKER_00]: Because I'm really thinking of this from the perspective of someone who's in school and needs that inspiration to get through their own studies to get to the other side.
- 39:39[SPEAKER_00]: It's kind of my mindset behind it.
- 39:43[SPEAKER_00]: If you see someone working hard, you're more likely to lock into that mindset.
- 39:48[SPEAKER_00]: If I want to clean my room, I usually turn on a YouTube video of someone cleaning their room.
- 39:54[SPEAKER_00]: And I'll feel inspired.
- 39:55[SPEAKER_01]: I got it.
- 39:57[SPEAKER_00]: What am I doing here with the messy room?
- 39:59[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, look at them.
- 40:01[SPEAKER_00]: Look at them.
- 40:01[SPEAKER_00]: They can do it.
- 40:02[SPEAKER_00]: I can do it too.
- 40:04[SPEAKER_01]: So the thing, the next one that I wrote down is in season four.
- 40:08[SPEAKER_01]: But in the episode, in and of itself, again, it's like I would have to cherry pick out certain parts of it.
- 40:16[SPEAKER_01]: But it's an affair to remember and it is because of restarting trees.
- 40:20[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it's so good.
- 40:25[SPEAKER_01]: But I'm like, did rest of it?
- 40:26[SPEAKER_01]: Does the rest of it?
- 40:28[SPEAKER_01]: pale in comparison, when it comes to like up against the academia because it's about Emily and the party and Suki and Laura like catering, it's like is it really a true?
- 40:39[SPEAKER_00]: I think sometimes I have to, you have to give in to Laura's story line knowing that like she's not gonna be studying, she's not gonna be school.
- 40:48[SPEAKER_00]: She did study recently in season one when we were watching, so like, but she didn't want to, she was a live-in, so.
- 40:55[SPEAKER_01]: Well, that's the other thing about runaway little boy.
- 40:57[SPEAKER_01]: Is it's about Laura like when a business school, but then she goes on that day?
- 41:01[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 41:02[SPEAKER_01]: So I think we have to include that one.
- 41:04[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like I need to add that one to our list.
- 41:07[SPEAKER_01]: Runaway little boy.
- 41:08[SPEAKER_00]: Runaway little boy.
- 41:09[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, it's not.
- 41:10[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just like letting us kind of chat about them, but as we have ones that are like definitive, like, Laura lives first in Chilton, haunted leg, the deer hunters, and now runaway little boy.
- 41:19[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, this is not really interesting.
- 41:21[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 41:22[SPEAKER_00]: I actually put the Hobbit the sofa and digger styles before that one.
- 41:27[SPEAKER_00]: You know, she's settling to school.
- 41:29[SPEAKER_00]: She goes to her first classes.
- 41:32[SPEAKER_00]: She meets Marty.
- 41:34[SPEAKER_00]: She does meet Marty.
- 41:35[SPEAKER_00]: You're right.
- 41:36[SPEAKER_00]: It's more of like I wonder if we can split up the list into like these are the top ten most academically inclined episodes and then have some like college and spell sort of apps.
- 41:52[SPEAKER_00]: because like it's hard with here comes the sun because like that one is so focused on Rory and school.
- 41:57[SPEAKER_00]: But we're also in California, and it's confusing.
- 42:00[SPEAKER_00]: And people don't like it.
- 42:01[SPEAKER_00]: People I'm people.
- 42:02[SPEAKER_00]: I was gonna say, I think your people, I love the Rory parts of it, though.
- 42:06[SPEAKER_00]: Those are some of my reef favorites.
- 42:08[SPEAKER_01]: I know, and we talked about that when we did our recap episode about that.
- 42:11[SPEAKER_01]: That we really liked the star's Holoparts of the episode.
- 42:15[SPEAKER_01]: It was the back door pilot of it all that had us like,
- 42:19[SPEAKER_00]: So, cherry pick that one though.
- 42:22[SPEAKER_00]: Go on YouTube.
- 42:22[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sure you can find all the Jess parts edited it out.
- 42:26[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sure someone has done it.
- 42:28[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's like one of the first times we were like edit the Jess out.
- 42:31[SPEAKER_01]: Do you like more Jess?
- 42:34[SPEAKER_01]: Give us more Jess.
- 42:36[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so the hop at the soven digger styles.
- 42:39[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's a good contender.
- 42:40[SPEAKER_01]: Is there anything else in season four that feels, I put Ted Cobble because it's like,
- 42:48[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, cuz it's like a college part of the game.
- 42:50[SPEAKER_00]: It's fall.
- 42:51[SPEAKER_00]: They're Bulldogs.
- 42:54[SPEAKER_00]: Bulldogs.
- 42:55[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, wow.
- 43:00[SPEAKER_00]: I would put that under college in spoe.
- 43:02[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, for sure.
- 43:03[SPEAKER_00]: But like it's definitely that vibe.
- 43:07[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 43:09[SPEAKER_01]: I also wanted to put the episode where, I think this is the nanny and the professor, which is what that's.
- 43:16[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't expect that one because it's Azure.
- 43:21[SPEAKER_01]: I know.
- 43:21[SPEAKER_01]: And that's a thing.
- 43:22[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, is this inspired ring?
- 43:24[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 43:25[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not inspired.
- 43:27[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not inspired to date.
- 43:28[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not inspired to date.
- 43:29[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not inspired to be an age girl.
- 43:31[SPEAKER_01]: Correct.
- 43:32[SPEAKER_00]: That's not the inspiration I'm hoping to inspire from this list.
- 43:35[SPEAKER_01]: Not at all.
- 43:36[SPEAKER_01]: But moving into season five.
- 43:39[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 43:40[SPEAKER_00]: I see pregnant stars.
- 43:42[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 43:43[SPEAKER_01]: I would as well.
- 43:44[SPEAKER_01]: But I immediately wrote down Norma Miller and pregnant.
- 43:48[SPEAKER_00]: One hundred percent.
- 43:49[SPEAKER_01]: We talked about this in last year's episode that in Childrenary L. That like Norma Miller and pregnant is quite possibly one of the best episodes of Gilmore Girls.
- 43:58[SPEAKER_00]: I love it.
- 44:00[SPEAKER_00]: It's so good.
- 44:01[SPEAKER_00]: Really, it really is a perfect balance of worries sort of new normal of being in college, balancing that work that she can't quite figure out what she wants to do.
- 44:13[SPEAKER_00]: She's drinking so much fucking coffee.
- 44:15[SPEAKER_00]: This is like maybe the most coffee drink in one episode in the whole series.
- 44:20[SPEAKER_00]: And she's like noticing all these things and
- 44:25[SPEAKER_00]: trying to write an article about it, trying to have these journalistic instincts about things, and she's just failing until she sees.
- 44:30[SPEAKER_00]: The gorilla mask girl.
- 44:31[SPEAKER_00]: Gorilla girl, if you will, Stephanie.
- 44:32[SPEAKER_00]: Stephanie.
- 44:32[SPEAKER_00]: Stephanie.
- 44:32[SPEAKER_00]: Stephanie.
- 44:32[SPEAKER_00]: Stephanie.
- 44:33[SPEAKER_00]: Stephanie.
- 44:33[SPEAKER_00]: Stephanie.
- 44:33[SPEAKER_00]: Stephanie.
- 44:33[SPEAKER_00]: Stephanie.
- 44:33[SPEAKER_00]: Stephanie.
- 44:34[SPEAKER_00]: Stephanie.
- 44:34[SPEAKER_00]: Stephanie.
- 44:34[SPEAKER_00]: Stephanie.
- 44:34[SPEAKER_00]: Stephanie.
- 44:35[SPEAKER_00]: Stephanie.
- 44:35[SPEAKER_00]: Stephanie.
- 44:35[SPEAKER_00]: Stephanie.
- 44:35[SPEAKER_00]: Stephanie.
- 44:35[SPEAKER_00]: Stephanie.
- 44:36[SPEAKER_00]: Stephanie.
- 44:36[SPEAKER_00]: Stephanie.
- 44:36[SPEAKER_00]: Stephanie.
- 44:36[SPEAKER_00]: Stephanie.
- 44:36[SPEAKER_00]: Stephanie.
- 44:37[SPEAKER_00]: Stephanie.
- 44:37[SPEAKER_00]: Stephanie.
- 44:37[SPEAKER_00]: Stephanie.
- 44:37[SPEAKER_00]: Stephanie.
- 44:38[SPEAKER_00]: Stephanie.
- 44:38[SPEAKER_00]: Stephanie.
- 44:38[SPEAKER_00]: Stephanie.
- 44:38[SPEAKER_00]: Stephanie.
- 44:38[SPEAKER_00]: Stephanie.
- 44:39[SPEAKER_00]: Stephanie.
- 44:39[SPEAKER_00]: Stephanie.
- 44:39[SPEAKER_00]: Stephanie.
- 44:39[SPEAKER_00]: Stephanie.
- 44:39[SPEAKER_00]: Stephanie.
- 44:40[SPEAKER_00]: Stephanie.
- 44:40[SPEAKER_00]: Stephanie.
- 44:40[SPEAKER_00]: Stephanie.
- 44:40[SPEAKER_00]: Stephanie.
- 44:41[SPEAKER_00]: Stephanie.
- 44:41[SPEAKER_00]: Stephanie.
- 44:41[SPEAKER_00]: Stephanie.
- 44:41[SPEAKER_00]: Stephanie.
- 44:42[SPEAKER_00]: Stephanie.
- 44:42[SPEAKER_00]: Stephanie.
- 44:42[SPEAKER_00]: Stephanie.
- 44:42[SPEAKER_00]: Stephanie.

- 44:52[SPEAKER_00]: really trying to find a story really trying to be a journalist like we see her like later working at the newspaper but she's working in a very administrative role as an intern would and then we see her trying to work with the newspaper in season six but like
- 45:09[SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't really ever come back around.
- 45:13[SPEAKER_00]: There's one other moment that's later on my list, but I just feel like Norma Miller is just, oh, when they're eye-imbing at the end, oh, kill me.
- 45:21[SPEAKER_00]: That's so much.
- 45:22[SPEAKER_00]: I know, it's really good.
- 45:24[SPEAKER_00]: What is your other moment?
- 45:27[SPEAKER_00]: Well, from season five, I included but not as cute as Pushkin.
- 45:31[SPEAKER_01]: As did I. So good.
- 45:33[SPEAKER_01]: When I think of like the later seasons, academia and Gilmour rolls, I think of been not as cute as Pushkin.
- 45:38[SPEAKER_01]: I think of her smelling that book.
- 45:40[SPEAKER_00]: But I just see a small that book, like I look at.
- 45:44[SPEAKER_01]: And then the moment, because we asked our besties about their
- 45:49[SPEAKER_01]: You know, favorite moments.
- 45:50[SPEAKER_01]: And so many people put when Logan and Colin and Finn do that whole skit in.
- 45:55[SPEAKER_00]: And it's not a school, but she's in class.
- 45:59[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 46:00[SPEAKER_00]: And Anna's there and we get a headmaster Charleston sighting, which if you watched our previous episode, what a darling.
- 46:07[SPEAKER_01]: What a literal angel.
- 46:09[SPEAKER_00]: So do you think that's a definite?
- 46:11[SPEAKER_00]: I want to say, yeah, I don't, I admittedly don't remember where I storyline in that one, but I would say yes.
- 46:19[SPEAKER_00]: And Norma Miller.
- 46:21[SPEAKER_00]: Normaler has to be.
- 46:22[SPEAKER_00]: It has to be.
- 46:24[SPEAKER_00]: It has to be.
- 46:25[SPEAKER_00]: But my next one, that you didn't have any more in season five, did you?
- 46:29[SPEAKER_00]: I actually don't have any more period.
- 46:32[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, my next one of these are from seasons one through five.
- 46:35[SPEAKER_00]: Makes sense.
- 46:36[SPEAKER_00]: Mine is Friday nights, all right, providing when they saved the newspaper.
- 46:38[SPEAKER_00]: That was a great one.
- 46:40[SPEAKER_00]: That was like the only other one that felt like we're Rory was like her instincts took over.
- 46:45[SPEAKER_00]: She was doing what it felt like she was like kind of training to do.
- 46:50[SPEAKER_00]: but I feel like it mostly manifests.
- 46:52[SPEAKER_00]: It's not my main learn pregnant.
- 46:54[SPEAKER_01]: I agree.
- 46:54[SPEAKER_01]: I agree.
- 46:56[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 46:57[SPEAKER_01]: So we have six solid contenders right now.
- 47:00[SPEAKER_01]: We've got the lower lies for sea chulton, the deer hunters, run away a little boy.
- 47:07[SPEAKER_01]: Season two.
- 47:07[SPEAKER_01]: Season three, haunted leg.
- 47:09[SPEAKER_01]: Season five normal male learn pregnant.
- 47:12[SPEAKER_01]: And but not as cute as push again.
- 47:14[SPEAKER_01]: The other ones that we discussed are
- 47:18[SPEAKER_01]: in season two, hammers and vails, the road trip to Harvard.
- 47:22[SPEAKER_00]: I think we can knock out hammers and vails.
- 47:25[SPEAKER_00]: As much as it really, I mean, we can add like honorable mention episodes.
- 47:30[SPEAKER_00]: We can just put that one there.
- 47:32[SPEAKER_00]: If we want to make more like a definitive list, we can pop that in there because worry is the summer school.
- 47:37[SPEAKER_00]: That feels like a different sort of academic situation than the police wants.
- 47:44[SPEAKER_00]: We also have the road trip to Harvard.
- 47:47[SPEAKER_00]: That one feels like it needs to be there because it's not only reflection on Rory streams, but it also is an insight into what Lorelei wanted for herself.
- 47:58[SPEAKER_00]: Because we get that like longing look at the valid Victorian picture.
- 48:01[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 48:02[SPEAKER_01]: Is it though enough of the episode?
- 48:06[SPEAKER_01]: Because like within a fair to remember,
- 48:11[SPEAKER_01]: I do feel like it's like very big and temporary storyline.
- 48:16[SPEAKER_01]: But the episode is also about something else.
- 48:19[SPEAKER_01]: And with the road trip, we get to Harvard by like the second half of the episode.
- 48:24[SPEAKER_01]: But it is also about Laura like kind of running away from her.
- 48:29[SPEAKER_01]: Marriage.
- 48:30[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 48:33[SPEAKER_00]: I whispered it.
- 48:34[SPEAKER_00]: It's ASMR time.
- 48:36[SPEAKER_00]: Welcome to ASMR.
- 48:38[SPEAKER_01]: But my question is like how much of the episode feels like it needs to, like how much of the episode needs to justify it being like a school episode?
- 48:47[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 48:47[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?
- 48:50[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 48:55[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 48:56[SPEAKER_00]: Let's continue.
- 48:57[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 48:58[SPEAKER_00]: Hold a place for it.
- 48:59[SPEAKER_01]: Nick and Nora said Nancy.
- 49:04[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like this is,
- 49:06[SPEAKER_01]: This is this very much and it's hard though because it's the arrival of Jess.
- 49:12[SPEAKER_01]: I know, but I love that it kind of starts with worry, like, she's ready to go to school.
- 49:19[SPEAKER_01]: She's like, okay, let's go.
- 49:21[SPEAKER_01]: Come on.
- 49:22[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, this diner.
- 49:23[SPEAKER_01]: And then, you know, Paris is the head of the newspaper.
- 49:27[SPEAKER_01]: They're in class.
- 49:29[SPEAKER_00]: She assigned her this.
- 49:29[SPEAKER_01]: She's my niece.
- 49:31[SPEAKER_01]: And then, well, first, she assigned her the paving of the parking lot piece.
- 49:35[SPEAKER_01]: And then, she gives her the piece about Max.
- 49:38[SPEAKER_01]: So I think that one belongs on here.
- 49:40[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 49:44[SPEAKER_00]: I think so.
- 49:45[SPEAKER_00]: It's a back to school episode and I feel like it's a good one.
- 49:48[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 49:48[SPEAKER_00]: It's no haunted leg, but I feel like it's, if it's.
- 49:53[SPEAKER_01]: So then what about my mother like daughter?
- 49:57[SPEAKER_00]: See, this is one of those hard ones for it's like, they are at school.
- 50:01[SPEAKER_00]: They are at school for sure.
- 50:03[SPEAKER_01]: The only other reason I would want to add it is because like, Laura lies involved as well.
- 50:07[SPEAKER_01]: Like that's her story list.
- 50:09[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, she's boosting.
- 50:12[SPEAKER_00]: Boost boost and this is when she sees Max.
- 50:16[SPEAKER_01]: No, no, that's a different one.
- 50:18[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's in season three.
- 50:21[SPEAKER_01]: That's okay.
- 50:21[SPEAKER_00]: That's right, right.
- 50:23[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.
- 50:24[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, but she's boost in there too.
- 50:26[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I get her boosting mixed up.
- 50:30[SPEAKER_00]: I want to say yes, but like,
- 50:34[SPEAKER_00]: Would it make you want to study harder?
- 50:35[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 50:37[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe.
- 50:38[SPEAKER_01]: By the end, you know.
- 50:42[SPEAKER_01]: Marie feels like she's kind of a lone wolf makes a maybe a little bit of a friend who we never see again.
- 50:48[SPEAKER_01]: But like you do I know but realizes that she wants to or there's nothing like being on your own that that there's nothing wrong with being on your own.
- 50:58[SPEAKER_01]: You just listen to your music read your book your sandwich sounds like a dream day to me study yeah exactly the other one that I almost included in this was secrets and loans because of the PSities.
- 51:09[SPEAKER_01]: I love that moment.
- 51:10[SPEAKER_00]: Because it's a secret.
- 51:11[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's a secret.
- 51:13[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's a secret part of the world.
- 51:15[SPEAKER_01]: And then Bannon's spots to be half.
- 51:17[SPEAKER_01]: We have two more spots.
- 51:19[SPEAKER_01]: If we include like mother like daughter, we don't then we have three because we also have back in the saddle again.
- 51:24[SPEAKER_00]: And a fair to remember the other thing about back in the saddle again is like if we're pulling in other characters into this like when Laura lies at the boosters when she comes to
- 51:39[SPEAKER_00]: Ted Koppel and she said the football game in like it being incorporated in their storyline.
- 51:44[SPEAKER_00]: It's kind of that sense of like Richard like kind of later in life being re-invigorated by the work that is being done.
- 51:53[SPEAKER_00]: There's the aspect of it that's really good.
- 51:56[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 51:57[SPEAKER_00]: Also the bonding of Paris and Richard because they're just both like sharks.
- 52:03[SPEAKER_00]: hilarious.
- 52:05[SPEAKER_00]: And so I kind of like that aspect of it, but it is kind of like an extracurricular situation, but it doesn't spy.
- 52:13[SPEAKER_00]: I love how inspired Richard is to take Hamlin and take him to task.
- 52:18[SPEAKER_01]: He does.
- 52:19[SPEAKER_01]: He does.
- 52:20[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I don't know.
- 52:24[SPEAKER_00]: Is there a different one that you would replace it with?
- 52:29[SPEAKER_00]: We're pleased with what was like instead of putting back in the saddle,
- 52:34[SPEAKER_01]: I think in a fair to remember, that was very, very essential.
- 52:40[SPEAKER_00]: It's like study.
- 52:40[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, for study tree.
- 52:42[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like it's between the road trip to Harvard and back in the saddle again.
- 52:47[SPEAKER_00]: I would say road trip to Harvard.
- 52:48[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I agree with like instinct, definitely like that just feels like I feel
- 52:56[SPEAKER_01]: like so many episodes of from season two.
- 53:00[SPEAKER_01]: And they say season two is it truly is very, very school forward school forward.
- 53:07[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, she gets a little bit caught up in the patina school with Francine and Francine, Francine and Paris and her relationship with Jess and it's more about like after a certain point getting into school and being with Jess.
- 53:25[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, I feel like that's why three falls off.
- 53:28[SPEAKER_00]: And then once we get into college, it's more of like kind of paralleling moral eye and where we storyline and how we can connect them.
- 53:34[SPEAKER_00]: I witnessed this early include the incredible sinking moral eyes because they are sinking is not doing so well in school, so wouldn't include it.
- 53:44[SPEAKER_01]: How do you feel about the Lorela's first aid Yale, not being on this list?
- 53:50[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like we need to create a separate list that's like collagen's bow, collagen's bow, like Lorela's first aid Yale, Ted Coppel, the opposite surface.
- 54:02[SPEAKER_00]: Those are string Pinocchio, graduation, Hobbit, so Hobbit.
- 54:09[SPEAKER_00]: It's more of the sofa.
- 54:10[SPEAKER_00]: It's really the sofa part.
- 54:12[SPEAKER_00]: It's really the sofa part.
- 54:15[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe Friday night because the whole episode, where we storyline, is not entirely about the paper.
- 54:22[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, she is writing while she's walking when Logan stops her and gives her coffee.
- 54:26[SPEAKER_00]: So she's working really hard.
- 54:29[SPEAKER_00]: So maybe I'd put that there.
- 54:30[SPEAKER_00]: I'm trying to look at what other ones I have.
- 54:32[SPEAKER_00]: What's your list?
- 54:32[SPEAKER_00]: What's the list that we have made?
- 54:34[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so I can see what else I have.
- 54:36[SPEAKER_01]: The lower-lights for state children, the deer hunters from season one.
- 54:40[SPEAKER_01]: Season two, the road trip to Harvard, Nick and Norris had Nancy, like mother-like daughter, and run away a little boy.
- 54:47[SPEAKER_01]: From season three, haunted leg, season four in a fair to remember, and season five, we have Norman Miller and pregnant, and but not as cute as Pushkin.
- 54:57[SPEAKER_00]: Hmm.
- 54:58[SPEAKER_00]: See, I'm like, I'm so tempted to put, here comes the sun, because it's just like the worry part of it.
- 55:05[SPEAKER_00]: The jazz part of it.
- 55:07[SPEAKER_00]: I wonder if we can make a second, a secondary list, to our first secondary list, that is like, roaring moments, because like, I feel like all of the worry moments in your comes the sun, nothing but school.
- 55:23[SPEAKER_00]: If we could delete jazz,
- 55:26[SPEAKER_00]: Minus Jess, that one would totally be there.
- 55:30[SPEAKER_00]: So.
- 55:32[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, is do we want to expand our list to twelve of the top twelve?
- 55:37[SPEAKER_00]: We get to twelve.
- 55:39[SPEAKER_00]: Twelve never add a buddy?
- 55:41[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 55:41[SPEAKER_00]: It's an Easter egg for Taylor's album.
- 55:46[SPEAKER_00]: School girl.
- 55:47[SPEAKER_01]: So now we have eleven.
- 55:49[SPEAKER_01]: If we add here comes the sun.
- 55:51[SPEAKER_01]: What else would we add?
- 55:53[SPEAKER_00]: Hmm, that's hard.
- 55:55[SPEAKER_00]: Here comes the sun if we're going to add that one.
- 55:57[SPEAKER_00]: I'm kind of tempted to add the big one.
- 56:01[SPEAKER_00]: Just but maybe that's more of like, I don't know.
- 56:04[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe that's in the college in spell list because it's where we're getting into school, but that's like what she's been wanting to do.
- 56:09[SPEAKER_00]: Hmm.
- 56:11[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 56:11[SPEAKER_00]: What do you think?
- 56:13[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 56:14[SPEAKER_01]: Is this an opportunity to add something like the lower-lace first date Yale or like the sentimental nature of that?
- 56:22[SPEAKER_00]: Are people going to yell at us?
- 56:24[SPEAKER_01]: If what?
- 56:25[SPEAKER_01]: If we don't?
- 56:26[SPEAKER_00]: If we don't include the lower-lace first date Yale?
- 56:28[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it is.
- 56:30[SPEAKER_00]: They're all going to yell at us.
- 56:32[SPEAKER_01]: They probably.
- 56:33[SPEAKER_01]: I think we could add the lower-lace first date Yale.
- 56:37[SPEAKER_00]: I'm kind of tempted to add back in the saddle instead.
- 56:41[SPEAKER_01]: I'm actually kind of tempted to add the off of the sofa and digger styles instead.
- 56:48[SPEAKER_00]: But there is also the hobby aspect of that and the digger part of that.
- 56:52[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, let's fair.
- 56:53[SPEAKER_00]: There really is like little bit of school and then they have a party.
- 56:58[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, if you want to add back in the saddle.
- 57:03[SPEAKER_00]: I'd back in the saddle.
- 57:05[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, but you know I love the Lorela's first day at Yale.
- 57:08[SPEAKER_00]: I think part of school is going to school.
- 57:11[SPEAKER_00]: Going back to school.
- 57:13[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 57:14[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.
- 57:14[SPEAKER_00]: This is hard.
- 57:16[SPEAKER_00]: I thought this was going to be really easy.
- 57:18[SPEAKER_00]: No, it's never easy.
- 57:21[SPEAKER_00]: It's never easy.
- 57:22[SPEAKER_00]: This is so difficult.
- 57:23[SPEAKER_00]: That's as the hardest thing I've ever done to my life.
- 57:25[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.
- 57:26[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 57:26[SPEAKER_01]: Nice.
- 57:27[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 57:28[SPEAKER_00]: I'm kidding.
- 57:28[SPEAKER_00]: I'm kidding.
- 57:34[SPEAKER_00]: Are you leaning one way or the other?
- 57:36[SPEAKER_01]: I'm very torn myself.
- 57:38[SPEAKER_01]: I am tempted to put the lower-lace for state Yale because it's about encapsulating the academic vibe, but it's also about encapsulating school and moving into your dorm that is so a part of school, you know, the journey of it.
- 57:53[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 57:54[SPEAKER_01]: And I like back in the saddle again.
- 57:56[SPEAKER_01]: I do think it really encapsulates the academic vibe as well.
- 58:01[SPEAKER_00]: But I think it can be an honorable mention.
- 58:03[SPEAKER_01]: I agree.
- 58:03[SPEAKER_00]: I honestly think that everything that we have mentioned that didn't make the list is an honorable mention.
- 58:08[SPEAKER_00]: I agree.
- 58:10[SPEAKER_00]: Early on when I was like looking for which episodes that I wanted to pick.
- 58:14[SPEAKER_00]: If I couldn't remember exactly what had happened at school, I would go through Netflix and like scrub.
- 58:18[SPEAKER_00]: But I'm like, OK, how much plaid do I see in this episode?
- 58:20[SPEAKER_00]: OK, this is really about school.
- 58:23[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, for sure.
- 58:24[SPEAKER_01]: So do we think that here comes the sun really captures the academic vibe?
- 58:30[SPEAKER_01]: Or is it really about where you go more studies, though?
- 58:34[SPEAKER_00]: I think there's a problem.
- 58:36[SPEAKER_00]: Because she's like, who cares if I'm pretty, if I fail my finals and didn't end with her becoming balladictorian or like learning that she is.
- 58:43[SPEAKER_00]: So I think that there's just like a nature to that.
- 58:46[SPEAKER_00]: Like on her, on its own, the episode is fantastic if we take out Jess.
- 58:52[SPEAKER_00]: Jess is ruining it.
- 58:54[SPEAKER_00]: Jess is always ruining everything.
- 58:57[SPEAKER_01]: It is not true, but it is a bummer.
- 59:02[SPEAKER_00]: Major bummer.
- 59:02[SPEAKER_00]: He's a major bummer.
- 59:03[SPEAKER_00]: He's in three.
- 59:05[SPEAKER_01]: He is, unfortunately, the second half of season three.
- 59:07[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the first half he's.
- 59:09[SPEAKER_01]: I was talking about his manager score.
- 59:10[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I was not talking about your win.
- 59:12[SPEAKER_01]: So we did a top twelve instead of a top ten, which we might have expected that we might do this, but we did say yesterday, what are the rules?
- 59:20[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, we are going to break them.
- 59:25[SPEAKER_01]: But I think this list really encapsulates like
- 59:29[SPEAKER_01]: school vibes.
- 59:30[SPEAKER_01]: I would totally, you know, I'm still, I still really want a petition for Netflix or Hulu to allow us to build an episode playlist.
- 59:37[SPEAKER_00]: Why can't we let me watch things how I want to?
- 59:41[SPEAKER_00]: And I, if reminds you of like Spotify, we can like save your episodes and you can listen to like three different podcasts and a row, back to back of what episodes you want.
- 59:50[SPEAKER_00]: Like you're on a flight, just listen to all of those.
- 59:52[SPEAKER_00]: Why can't I do that on Netflix?
- 59:54[SPEAKER_00]: I know.
- 59:55[SPEAKER_00]: Or who?
- 59:55[SPEAKER_00]: Like, why can't I?
- 59:56[SPEAKER_00]: Why can't I watch a documentary about someone who's missing and then watch Ted Couples Big Men out?
- 1:00:02[SPEAKER_01]: For a combo, a combo for the ages.
- 1:00:04[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, exactly.
- 1:00:08[SPEAKER_01]: Hello.
- 1:00:09[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think this is a really solid list.
- 1:00:12[SPEAKER_01]: It just puts me in the fields.
- 1:00:13[SPEAKER_01]: I watched the deer hunters today, at least like the first part of it because I just wanted to get in the vibes and I was like, God, I love the show.
- 1:00:21[SPEAKER_01]: I love the show so much.
- 1:00:24[SPEAKER_00]: And our new version of Patreon.
