- 0:12Hello friends, it is Sean. Here it is Wednesday, it is the
- 0:1612th of July and it is well, it's holidays in this part of
- 0:22the world and if you have a school going aged crew at your
- 0:27place. Ah, what a happy time this is.
- 0:30Or you might be retired and thinking all the noisy kids are
- 0:33out in the shops and on the streets.
- 0:35Bring back the school term. Wherever you are in between it
- 0:40is great to have your company. We are going to put down the
- 0:42holidays or put down the busyness or the noisiness.
- 0:46Just for the next few minutes as we focus our hearts on hearing
- 0:51what God has to say to us today and today, we will continue to
- 0:55hear these introductory. Oracles, as we hear Isaiah speak
- 1:01out against the choices that Judah and Jerusalem are making.
- 1:07So join me, friends, as we read together Isaiah Chapter 3.
- 1:16The Lord, the Lord of Heaven's armies, will take away from
- 1:26Jerusalem and Judah everything they depend on, every bit of
- 1:30bread and every drop of water. All their heroes and soldiers,
- 1:35judges and prophets, fortune tellers and elders, army
- 1:39officers and high officials, advisors, skilled sorcerers and
- 1:44astrologers. I will make boys their leaders
- 1:48and toddlers their rulers. People will oppress each other,
- 1:53man against man, neighbor against neighbor.
- 1:56Young people will insult their elders and vulgar.
- 1:59People will sneer at the honorable.
- 2:03In those days a man will say to his brother, since you have a
- 2:06coat, you be our leader, take charge of this heap of ruins.
- 2:11But he will reply, no, I can't help.
- 2:14I don't have any extra food or clothes.
- 2:16Don't put me in charge, for Jerusalem will stumble and Judah
- 2:22will fall. Because they speak out against
- 2:25the Lord and refuse to obey him, they provoke him to his face.
- 2:30The very look on their faces gives them away.
- 2:34They display their sin like the people of Sodom, and don't even
- 2:38try to hide it. They are doomed.
- 2:42They've brought destruction upon themselves.
- 2:45Tell the godly that all will be well for them.
- 2:49They will enjoy the rich reward they have earned.
- 2:52The wicked are doomed, for they will get exactly what they
- 2:57deserve. Childish leaders oppress my
- 3:00people, and women rule over them.
- 3:03Oh, my people. Your leaders mislead you.
- 3:08They send you down the wrong Rd. The Lord takes His place in
- 3:13court and presents His case against His people.
- 3:16The Lord comes forward to pronounce judgment on the elders
- 3:19and rulers of His people. You have ruined Israel, my
- 3:23vineyard. Your houses are filled with
- 3:27things stolen from the poor. How dare you crush my people?
- 3:31Grinding the faces of the poor into the dust demands the Lord,
- 3:36the Lord of Heaven's armies. The Lord says Beautiful Zion is
- 3:43haughty, craning her elegant neck, floating with her eyes,
- 3:49walking with dainty steps, tinkling her ankle bracelets.
- 3:54So the Lord will send scabs on her head.
- 3:57The Lord will make beautiful Zion bald On that day of
- 4:01judgment. The Lord will strip away
- 4:03everything that makes her beautiful ornaments, headbands,
- 4:07Crescent necklaces, earrings, bracelets and veils, scarves,
- 4:12ankle bracelets, sashes, perfumes and charms, ring
- 4:17jewels, party clothes, gowns, capes and purses.
- 4:21Mirrors, fine linen, garments, head ornaments and shawls.
- 4:27Instead of smelling of sweet perfume, she will stink.
- 4:31She will wear a rope for a sash and her elegant hair will fall
- 4:36out. She will wear rough burlap
- 4:39instead of rich robes. Shame will replace her beauty.
- 4:44The men of the city will be killed with the sword and her
- 4:47warriors will die in battle. The gates of Zion will weep and
- 4:52mourn. The city will be like a ravaged
- 4:56woman huddled on the ground. Lord, how quickly we forget that
- 5:11all the good things that we enjoy, these are gifts from you.
- 5:18We are not ultra clever and ultra special.
- 5:23And able to make these incredible lives for ourselves.
- 5:26But these are gifts from you. These are your blessings for
- 5:30your people whom you love. Help us always keep our hearts
- 5:35of gratitude. Help us always turn our eyes
- 5:39back to you. Back with the surefire knowledge
- 5:43that you are the author of our lives and every good thing.
- 5:49Thank you for those. Multitude of wonderful blessings
- 5:53that you give each of us that we just enjoy every day keep us
- 6:00turning back to you again and again to hold you at the center
- 6:05of our lives. You are marvelous and we just
- 6:10worship you day in, day out with every breath that we breathe and
- 6:17it's in Jesus name we pray. Amen.
- 6:20SMS Srikanth.
