Speaker 1: All right, well, on this edition of One Look Up
• 0:03
Speaker 1: alex Media. If you didn't hear it already or know
• 0:06
Speaker 1: it already, there were two million people that line the
• 0:10
Speaker 1: Canyon of Heroes. And how fortunate to say, though it
• 0:15
Speaker 1: look bleaked early on, I couldn't given even get into
• 0:18
Speaker 1: the office building one eleven Broadway. My buddy Ryan Pagano
• 0:22
Speaker 1: and I got on the Cannon of Heroes to watch history,
• 0:28
Speaker 1: and I want to give you some of the sights
• 0:30
Speaker 1: and sounds from where we were standing outside the Starbucks
• 0:33
Speaker 1: at one sixty Liberty. It was quite amazing. And here
• 0:38
Speaker 1: they are some of the sounds from this historic day
• 0:44
Speaker 1: right on one Look Up alex Media, taking you along
• 0:47
Speaker 1: the parade route as New York City as the Cannon
• 0:50
Speaker 1: of Heroes at City Hall honors the New York Knicks
• 0:55
Speaker 1: over the first time in fifty three years, win the
• 0:58
Speaker 1: NBA Finals. Here's a montage of the sounds of the
• 1:04
Speaker 1: city this past Thursday, June eighteenth, twenty twenty six.
• 1:42
Speaker 2: No do you ut come you lot go? No, do
• 1:49
Speaker 2: you luck out? Do you ut come that?
• 2:56
Speaker 1: And wouldn't you know it? Wouldn't you know it? We
• 2:59
Speaker 1: were the although we couldn't really see him from our
• 3:01
Speaker 1: vantage point. We were there when Jalen Brunson crossed our
• 3:06
Speaker 1: cross down the Canon of Heroes to City Hall, and
• 3:10
Speaker 1: here were those MVP chants ringing out through downtown Manhattan.
• 3:40
Speaker 1: And then a moment I felt really moved by was
• 3:43
Speaker 1: when they blasted Empires had of Mind, Alicia Keys through
• 3:48
Speaker 1: the Canon of Heroes, and everybody started singing along, even yours.
• 3:53
Speaker 1: Truly take a listen to this. It truly is a
• 4:23
Speaker 1: parade that'll be talked about for a lifetime. And the
• 4:25
Speaker 1: story of how Ryan and I got up there after
• 4:28
Speaker 1: not being able to go to the office. I saw
• 4:30
Speaker 1: an opening where people were coming in and out from
• 4:34
Speaker 1: Broadway to you know, the steps on Liberty Street, and
• 4:38
Speaker 1: I said, Ryan, look there's an opening right there. Let's
• 4:40
Speaker 1: see what happened. He said, let's go. We go. We
• 4:43
Speaker 1: in st our way closer and closer from under the
• 4:47
Speaker 1: building to right out right in the outside portion of
• 4:51
Speaker 1: it on the steps of one sixty Liberty, and the
• 4:58
Speaker 1: folks hanging off the ledge is sitting there with their
• 5:01
Speaker 1: legs dangling like the steel workers build the Empire State Building.
• 5:07
Speaker 1: I mean, you just had to be there, and it
• 5:12
Speaker 1: was amazing to me. How not only Broadway, but the
• 5:16
Speaker 1: side streets were packed Greenwich Street, that whole area of
• 5:21
Speaker 1: Greenwich Street packed out by Cedar and Trinity, packed out
• 5:28
Speaker 1: tim Street, where our office is packed out. You know
• 5:33
Speaker 1: why people showed out for the Knicks, because the Knicks
• 5:37
Speaker 1: showed out and showed up for the people of New
• 5:41
Speaker 1: York when they had this run. When they had this run,
• 5:47
Speaker 1: the people loved the Knicks. It's a parent and the
• 5:52
Speaker 1: Knicks obviously loved the city back. But this team might
• 5:56
Speaker 1: just have its numbers retired. I mean to come back
• 6:00
Speaker 1: from twenty seven twenty nine points in that Game four
• 6:05
Speaker 1: and the og tip, and then to have the Brunson
• 6:12
Speaker 1: forty five point performance. How about the comeback against the
• 6:16
Speaker 1: Cavs in Game one of that series leading into an
• 6:20
Speaker 1: eventual sweep. Two sweeps in a row. You go down
• 6:24
Speaker 1: against the Hawks two to one, and you come back
• 6:27
Speaker 1: and win that series. Mike Brown taught this team endurance.
• 6:31
Speaker 1: And let me tell you something though, while he taught
• 6:34
Speaker 1: showed them en durrance, perseverance, all that, all that, why
• 6:39
Speaker 1: wasn't Tom Thibdeaux included. Thibodeau built this team. He got
• 6:44
Speaker 1: the Knicks relevant again. He should have been involved. He
• 6:48
Speaker 1: was a key part of all of this comeback. Yes,
• 6:51
Speaker 1: he didn't manage, he didn't coach this team to victory,
• 6:55
Speaker 1: and he didn't really use the bench like Mike Brown
• 6:58
Speaker 1: has used it to win. But Diibbson deserves credit for
• 7:02
Speaker 1: this as well. Those noise sounds of downtown Manhattan, sounds
• 7:08
Speaker 1: of the city this past Thursday. We should be thanking
• 7:12
Speaker 1: Tom Thibodeau and Mike Brown equally forgetting the Knicks to
• 7:17
Speaker 1: this pinnacle, to this pinnacle. But I want to add
• 7:21
Speaker 1: one more sound to this, because the MTA float was there.
• 7:27
Speaker 1: They had a staff bus for coaches for the Knicks.
• 7:30
Speaker 1: They had different floats with celebrities on it. But Sanitation
• 7:34
Speaker 1: rounded it out and rightfully, so they got their own chance.
• 7:39
Speaker 1: You believe this. Take a listen to this.
• 7:47
  Speaker 2: Son, Son.
• 7:58
Speaker 1: Just like the Knicks cleaned the glass many a time
• 8:02
Speaker 1: this postseason, this NBA Playoffs, its NBA Finals run, the
• 8:08
Speaker 1: Sanitation cleaned up Broadway spotless. I mean, I of course
• 8:13
Speaker 1: work down there, so I come there on the Friday
• 8:16
Speaker 1: morning after all of this descended on New York City,
• 8:21
Speaker 1: all these Nick fans descended on New York City, two
• 8:23
Speaker 1: million of US and it looked like nothing happened a
• 8:27
Speaker 1: day later. That was a bit of whiplash. But I
• 8:30
Speaker 1: tell you what, they deserve their flowers in the sanitation
• 8:33
Speaker 1: because they did a bang up job cleaning up the streets.
• 8:40
Speaker 1: And I believe this drought being snapped, this fifty three
• 8:47
Speaker 1: year drought, it's the drought everybody's been waiting for in
• 8:50
Speaker 1: the New York City. The Knicks to finally went. It
• 8:53
Speaker 1: opens this bigots to more championships, maybe a Jets one,
• 8:57
Speaker 1: maybe a Mets one. Met's been forty years, just as
• 9:01
Speaker 1: in sixty nine. Maybe the Yanks again, first time in
• 9:07
Speaker 1: seventeen years, is gonna be So maybe this final snap,
• 9:15
Speaker 1: a drought snapped, is what propels the city to be
• 9:20
  Speaker 1: a winning city again. I just don't want I don't
• 9:23
Speaker 1: want just the Knicks down the Candon heroes. I want
• 9:26
Speaker 1: to see the Rangers down the candoon of heroes again
• 9:28
Speaker 1: since ninety four. I want to see the Yankees. Hell,
• 9:33
Speaker 1: I'll take the mest just keep the winning going. The
• 9:37
Speaker 1: Knicks have the city in a fever right now, in
• 9:42
Speaker 1: a fever, and I can't wait for Fanatics Fest as
• 9:47
Speaker 1: both a possible competitor and press person to see what
• 9:53
Speaker 1: this is going to be like at the Javit Center.
• 9:59
Speaker 1: I started the show when the Aches were on their
• 10:01
Speaker 1: world series run. You know nine, I've said this before,
• 10:06
Speaker 1: and to be around all those New Yorkers, all those people,
• 10:10
Speaker 1: it reminded me why I love doing this, why I
• 10:16
Speaker 1: love being on the scene, because it's an adrenaline rush.
• 10:20
Speaker 1: When our New York City sports are winning, are winning,
• 10:26
Speaker 1: and the Knicks their pinnacle right now, has everyone feeling
• 10:32
Speaker 1: damn good as we enter summer. In twenty twenty six,
• 10:35
Speaker 1: it wasn't Nixon six, it was Nixon five, but overall
• 10:40
Speaker 1: it was the Knicks in twenty twenty six. Those were
• 10:44
Speaker 1: the sights and sounds. Well for the sights and sounds,
• 10:47
Speaker 1: you can continue to follow me on Instagram alex J.
• 10:50
Speaker 1: N Weys one, alex J. N weys one, But those
• 10:52
Speaker 1: were the sounds of the city, two million people celebrating.
• 10:58
Speaker 1: As I've said before, Ilarry O'Brien coming back to New
• 11:03
  Speaker 1: York
