- 0:24Lisa Hopkins: Hey there.
- 0:24Lisa Hopkins: So we're going to do a meditation right now.
- 0:30Lisa Hopkins: That is, around the distinction between excitement and stress.
- 0:39Lisa Hopkins: It's interesting because excitement and stress, excitement and fear they create the same physical sensations in our body and sometimes, even when we're really anticipating something really wonderful as I am in this moment it can be stressful, and so it's a great exercise just to tap into our energy and let go of any extra excited energy that we might be holding on to, so that we can tap into savoring, to centering, to being in the moment and enjoying.
- 1:31Lisa Hopkins: You know, when we've been anticipating something wonderful for a really long time, there can be a lot of energy spent in hope, in wondering, in expecting, in imagining, and these are all beautiful things.
- 1:51Lisa Hopkins: But it's a really important reminder to realize that the future hasn't happened yet and when the moment comes, the best way to enjoy it is to be in it.
- 2:11Lisa Hopkins: So I'm hoping that this little brief meditation will help you zoom out a little bit and then zoom right back in to what's truly important.
- 2:28Lisa Hopkins: So find yourself somewhere quiet and comfortable to sit or lie, and with your body resting comfortably.
- 2:43Lisa Hopkins: When you're ready, just allow the eyes to gently shut or lower your gaze and simply connect with the breath.
- 3:03Lisa Hopkins: The resistance that you may or may not feel in this moment is exactly what I was speaking of that excited, hyped energy Trying to make things right, trying to finish one last detail, trying to make everything perfect.
- 3:20Lisa Hopkins: I promise you, my friends, that everything is perfect just the way it is.
- 3:28Lisa Hopkins: Let that hyperkinetic energy go and we're going to do a very deep inhale in on 4, 3, 2, 1.
- 3:45Lisa Hopkins: And we're going to hold it at the top and now let it go Until you cannot exhale any further.
- 4:10Lisa Hopkins: Take a new deep breath now and fill up your belly and, as you do this, allow it to come up through your body like an internal air massage.
- 4:20Lisa Hopkins: It comes through you and it even rolls your shoulders back, ah, ah.
- 4:34Lisa Hopkins: Focusing only on your breathing now and the joyous truth that, in order to enjoy anything, we must be present in our breath, take a few more breaths here and, as you start to settle in, I want you to bring to mind the thoughts or situation that you've identified as exciting right now.
- 5:20Lisa Hopkins: I want you to identify something that could actually be an expansive moment if you could identify the anticipatory stress that is associated with looking forward to this.
- 5:41Lisa Hopkins: I want you to be honest with yourself and to breathe in any expectations or attachment you may have to the outcome and, on the exhale, simply let them go, trusting the process, knowing that everything will happen as it is supposed, as your breath continues to circulate in this, knowing you feel a sense of relief, emotion and freedom.
- 6:32Lisa Hopkins: Placing your hands over your heart, now allow yourself to know that everything is as it should be, feel the sense of warmth envelop you, feel it surround you and hold you circulating positive energy, unattached and connected to now.
- 7:19Lisa Hopkins: You know that you are supported in this moment because you have tapped into you.
- 7:29Lisa Hopkins: You will enjoy every moment as it comes and find magic beyond your wildest assumptions or hopes or dreams, simply by being in the moment and breathing.
- 8:08Lisa Hopkins: I want you to slowly begin to guide yourself back from this meditation.
- 8:13Lisa Hopkins: Begin to ground your energy into the physical space that you're in, feeling the weight of your body on your seat or bed, bringing gentle movement to your fingers and toes, maybe even wrapping your arms around yourself and giving yourself a great big hug.
- 8:37Lisa Hopkins: This is all you need.
- 8:40Lisa Hopkins: You have everything you need.
- 8:43Lisa Hopkins: Anything else is just the cherry on top.
- 8:49Lisa Hopkins: You are expansive and free.
- 8:55Lisa Hopkins: Take a nice deep breath, smiling and exhaling, allowing your eyes to open whenever you feel ready, guiding yourself back.
- 9:09Lisa Hopkins: Notice how much checking in with yourself has supported you to enjoy and savor every moment.
- 9:28Lisa Hopkins: You can return to this process anytime, just by slowing down.
- 9:35Lisa Hopkins: We often forget, when things are good, that they can also be very stressful.
- 9:43Lisa Hopkins: So enjoy your life, enjoy these moments and embrace them with open arms and open heart.
- 9:55Lisa Hopkins: My friends, welcome back you, beautiful, loving, kind-hearted soul, wishing you so much love from my heart to yours.
- 10:06Lisa Hopkins: May every moment be filled with peace.
- 10:12Lisa Hopkins: Namaste.
