- 0:14Hello and welcome to Arguing Ever After.
- 0:16I am Luke and this is the one and only Amber.
- 0:19Hello. Together we are the Lord and
- 0:21Lady who lock horns. The count and Countess of
- 0:23contention. The Duke and Duchess of
- 0:25Disagreement. And the king and queen of
- 0:28quarrels. We have been together since the
- 0:30debut of the cute new Volkswagen Beetle, the epic Porsche Boxster
- 0:35and the totally weird Isuzu Viha Cross.
- 0:40Yeah, that's it. Keep going.
- 0:41In this podcast, we were bigger about all things big and small,
- 0:44and the audience gets the final say on who the winner is.
- 0:48Many of our topics are frequently submitted by our
- 0:50listeners, so if you have something you want us to battle
- 0:52over, please share it with us at arguingeverafter@gmail.com.
- 0:56We will use this completely unscientific method of letting
- 0:59the masses decide who is right determine who the winner is.
- 1:03Dun, Dun, Dun, and here we are. Yeah, here we are.
- 1:08Episode 19. 19 it's. 19. Yeah. 19 in life to Nope, it's
- 1:1418 in life to go. Dang it, I should have used that
- 1:17last week. Opportunity lost.
- 1:19You'll never be able to use it again.
- 1:21Can we just backtrack to the intro for one second?
- 1:23Because I want everyone to know how amazingly weird truly the
- 1:27Isuzu VI Cross actually was. Okay, what is this vehicle?
- 1:31Well, first of all, Isuzu had a real brief little foray into
- 1:35passenger vehicles in the United States.
- 1:37I don't know how long it lasted, but it like it wasn't very long.
- 1:40I think it was like maybe it was like 80s to 90s.
- 1:43What do they usually do? I think they do more like big
- 1:46truck stuff like I feel like they do maybe they do semis and.
- 1:51Like Peterbilt or something? Maybe not that big like the I
- 1:55don't know. I don't actually know what they
- 1:56do anymore but I actually I remember once in my car selling
- 2:02career back in the 2000s we took it.
- 2:05I took in on trade an Isuzu via cross and I can't remember if it
- 2:10was either red or yellow. I remember it being very bright,
- 2:13but this thing was like a 2 door like tough looking little 4x4
- 2:18thing with a really weird front end and headlights and the
- 2:21bottom half of it was like covered in a plastic clad rugged
- 2:26looking like mud shield thing. And it was really tall like off
- 2:31the ground. The ground clearance was high,
- 2:33but it had like a bin like a like a basin you got into and it
- 2:38was really hard to get into. You had to like, jump into the
- 2:41car. That's how old Wranglers used to
- 2:44be. OK, so it was like that except
- 2:45way taller entry height. OK.
- 2:48And it was like jumping into a cockpit of an airplane.
- 2:51It was very small and tight because it was a it was smaller
- 2:54than a Wrangler by like some measure.
- 2:57That seemed to be the moment, right?
- 2:59Like back then the two seater crossover type vehicle was kind
- 3:03of big. Or the 90s, I mean the 90s was
- 3:07the the debut of the crossover as a vehicle.
- 3:11Prior to that there was like sedans were and coupe sedans and
- 3:14coupe sports cars, trucks and well, trucks really were were
- 3:19not like they were not more of a passenger vehicle.
- 3:21They were more of a utility vehicle.
- 3:23So like I think in the 90s maybe is when they introduced the four
- 3:26door truck as well. It was when they went sort of
- 3:30away from the minivan being the family vehicle to everybody
- 3:33wanted to make something that was like a mix between an SUV,
- 3:39which was a, you know, sport utility vehicle.
- 3:41Everyone knows what those were. They've been around for a long,
- 3:44long time. And then the crossover came into
- 3:48the mix. I want to say it was a Lexus
- 3:49that made the first one. I don't.
- 3:52You know, what I find very interesting is back in the day,
- 3:55there were very few trucks on the road.
- 3:58And I don't know that I knew. I think I knew like one or two
- 4:02people who owned a truck, right? Yeah.
- 4:04You know, everybody had a sedan car, right?
- 4:07And now there's very few sedan cars on the road.
- 4:10Well, now most car companies in the US don't even really make
- 4:14them. Yeah, it's bonkers.
- 4:17Bonkers. And I, when I was younger, you
- 4:21know, like it, it didn't even cross my mind to ever own a
- 4:24truck. It was always a car.
- 4:27I don't think it me either. I think yeah, cars were the
- 4:29thing. Like I wanted a car when I
- 4:31wanted my first car. Right, right.
- 4:33I certainly and like the truck seemed not at all well and
- 4:37trucks and I'm sure I'm wrong, but I all I could think about
- 4:41with a truck was just a 2 door truck.
- 4:44Like now they have the one with the row behind them.
- 4:49They were definitely not conducive for doing what I
- 4:52wanted to do as a teenager, which was drive everywhere,
- 4:55maybe have friends in my car, maybe right.
- 4:58Sometimes I didn't want to drive my friends, but you know, I
- 5:00wanted the ability to have them. And in a truck you were very
- 5:03limited. We packed so many people into so
- 5:05many cars in the 90s. We did.
- 5:08I mean, now they have different laws about all of that though.
- 5:11Didn't. One of our friends get pulled
- 5:13over. Were we in the car for having
- 5:16too many people in the car? I I cannot speak to that, but I
- 5:21am sure. You're pleading the. 5th No, I
- 5:23don't recall that because the IT was.
- 5:25Your Honor, I don't recall. It was just so common to throw a
- 5:28bunch of kids in the car back then and I don't they don't do
- 5:32that. I mean, I think drivers and I
- 5:35know people are going to really necessarily not necessarily
- 5:38agree with this, but I feel like youth today take driving much
- 5:40more seriously than we did in our day.
- 5:43I wonder if that's true. Well, I mean the laws also make
- 5:47them. Well, right, Do that.
- 5:48Well, at least in Minnesota. We don't know that that's the
- 5:50case everywhere. True, true.
- 5:53Like isn't the rule that you can't?
- 5:54Have you said something like this?
- 5:56Not more than one passenger. Under the age of 18, if you're
- 6:00under the age of 18. Yeah, yeah.
- 6:04I mean, that would have. Could you imagine?
- 6:06That's crazy. So you're saying you couldn't
- 6:07pack in like 4 of your friends in A5 passenger vehicle?
- 6:12No. To go, just drive to drive.
- 6:15Or drive to school even. I mean, think about that.
- 6:17Drive to a event or a party or a it's.
- 6:21Not allowed anymore. That's stupid.
- 6:24Is it? Do you think people are getting
- 6:25caught though? Like I wonder if this is still
- 6:27happening? I don't know.
- 6:28I mean, I'm sure if you get pulled over like you would,
- 6:32that's when you would get in trouble.
- 6:33But I don't think you're getting pulled over for that.
- 6:36So we need if there's either parents of teens in that era
- 6:42right now or teens listening in that I want to know like, what's
- 6:46the situation like out there? Are we still doing this?
- 6:49Are we just breaking the law? Are the kids packing it in?
- 6:51Because I promise you, I would. I mean.
- 6:54I'd be like, yeah, me and my 4 buddies are going to get in the
- 6:57car and we're going to go. I don't know.
- 6:59Anywhere. Fishing, snowboarding, fishing.
- 7:02I'm just randomly calling out hobbies.
- 7:05I don't, I, well, I think though, it's different because
- 7:09when you were saying, you know, I think still everybody's gonna
- 7:13break the law sometimes, but I think that we were clearly that
- 7:18I'm sure the law did not allow for the piling in.
- 7:21I feel like it's always been a rule in my driving life that you
- 7:25couldn't have more passengers than seatbelts.
- 7:29I mean, that's fair. I definitely broke that rule.
- 7:32Yeah. Because I had a car that was
- 7:34ready to hold so many people. Right.
- 7:36Oh yeah, you did. And it did.
- 7:38You did. You had a boat.
- 7:40I mean, it was just. Beautiful double hand me down
- 7:431991 Mercury Grand Marquis. Still in the like the boxy body
- 7:49style when you like the old cop cars.
- 7:53Yeah, I mean, and that that glided.
- 7:55Oh yeah. You know, and when it would hit
- 7:57a bump, it was like going through the ocean it.
- 8:00Was driving a boat. Yeah, it was very different than
- 8:02a land. Got.
- 8:04Yeah, yeah, but you fit a lot. I also remember.
- 8:07I mean, I don't know, I think here's I'm going to say it.
- 8:10And again, I don't think it's the most popular opinion, but I
- 8:12feel like kids today are just more responsible than we were.
- 8:16Maybe they have better self-control because.
- 8:19Like what? OK, maybe it's our fault.
- 8:21I feel like this is a generational blame situation.
- 8:25Does it go along with the helicopter parenting?
- 8:28I feel like it might. It might, but you know what?
- 8:30I don't think that's wrong. I mean, I feel like I might have
- 8:34done a few dumb things. I feel like you should be able
- 8:37to just hop in the car with a bunch of your friends literally
- 8:39just to go drive because driving is cool.
- 8:42Wait, is driving still cool? Oh, I don't know.
- 8:45You just said kids were taking it more seriously.
- 8:47Now I'm worried that they don't like think like let's go for a
- 8:50drive is an activity that would have merit.
- 8:53I feel like there's, I don't know, I mean, like, so back in
- 8:57our day, God, we're so old. Like, yeah, kids would just go
- 9:03driving and you. Would like.
- 9:05Go racing and things like that. I think that.
- 9:08Racing the oldest, junkiest cars everyone has.
- 9:11Right, right. On a big St. that we lived near.
- 9:15Like that was what everybody, not everybody.
- 9:18I didn't do that, but lots of kids would do that on the main
- 9:21thorough way and you'd see kids just parked in parking lots up
- 9:25and down. And I don't know if the police
- 9:26necessarily liked that. Probably not.
- 9:29I imagine people got caught. Right.
- 9:31But also when we later moved to another area, that was another
- 9:34thing kids were still doing. But I don't see that now
- 9:38everyone that. Was a small town, there was less
- 9:40to do. Right, there was less to do.
- 9:42Every once in a while I'll. See like it was like drive down
- 9:45the Main Street or go to Walmart.
- 9:48Right, that was it. Those were your options.
- 9:50Past 9:00, that's what you could do.
- 9:52But like, now I just don't. I don't really think I see kids
- 9:56driving like that anymore. I think you're right.
- 9:58Yeah. Every once in a while you might
- 9:59see some, and I don't know if they're kids or not, who are
- 10:02like, racing on the highway. And I totally feel like I've
- 10:07ridden in a car like that, that maybe that has happened.
- 10:12And I might say that that might have been with you as a driver.
- 10:16Quite likely that I was the culprit of many a crime.
- 10:19I was a responsible driver, but but you were a little different.
- 10:24I mean, if you're in the car, doesn't that make you an
- 10:26accomplice or something? Oh, I don't think we want to go
- 10:30down on that road, no. Way with other people and not
- 10:34with me. No, well, I mean it is the
- 10:37drivers. The driver drives.
- 10:40The driver has control of of of how the vehicle is moving.
- 10:45That's true. But I don't know, I just feel
- 10:47like it's so different today and maybe it's just not the same
- 10:50freedoms. I don't know.
- 10:53I don't know, I. Mean.
- 10:54That's really sad if it's true, because cars are awesome and
- 10:58should be viewed as an awesome thing and they should be fun and
- 11:01cool and people should like doing it.
- 11:04Well, I would, I'd love some feedback on that from people who
- 11:08our kid is not yet to driving age, from people who have
- 11:12driving age children. Do you think your kids are just
- 11:14overall more responsible for you?
- 11:16And if you're of driving age, do you just feel like it's more of
- 11:20a responsibility? And is it not cool anymore?
- 11:22I really want to know that. Is it just a method of
- 11:24transportation? Like, are we just driving
- 11:26because we have to, like, get in the car and go to work or, you
- 11:29know, go to A? Like, is it point A to point B
- 11:32or is it an event? Yeah, Yeah, I'm troubled right
- 11:36now. Well, I'm interested in.
- 11:38Concern for the youth of America.
- 11:40Well, I mean, it is, it is what it is.
- 11:43I feel like they just don't, I don't know, I don't think kids
- 11:46have the same amount of free time as we did growing up, even
- 11:49though I was always working, I swear I had more free time than
- 11:55kids do today. But you know, I don't know.
- 11:57Maybe idle hands, they say. I mean, I hate to sound like the
- 12:01old man in the room I am because here I am, but maybe smartphones
- 12:06are a little bit to blame because maybe kids would rather
- 12:09hang out and like, you know, check out what video gamers are
- 12:13doing on YouTube or something and not go out for a drive
- 12:17instead. Yeah, I don't know, maybe maybe.
- 12:21I mean, I don't think. We had some jams back in the day
- 12:24though and. Maybe that's it.
- 12:26Maybe the music isn't as good. Maybe it's not as good for Rd.
- 12:29tripping like for Yeah. Huh.
- 12:32I wonder if that's part of it because the 90s was definitely
- 12:37like. And the 2000s?
- 12:39There was like a lot more, Well, maybe this isn't true.
- 12:43I feel like there was a lot more like anthems.
- 12:46Well, like just, you know, big hit bangers and there's not as
- 12:50many of those today. Like there's more pop and less,
- 12:55I mean, pop is always pop. But like the what was popular
- 12:59then versus what is popular now? Like now it feels more like a
- 13:04music factory than a, you know, expression.
- 13:07The radio isn't listened to anymore.
- 13:09It's different how people are consuming.
- 13:11That's true music. So, you know, like that common
- 13:14ground. I'm the old man in the room.
- 13:16Yeah, Yeah. I mean, like the common ground
- 13:18of everybody's going to be catching this same music, you
- 13:21know, I mean, obviously there is ways of them doing that, you
- 13:25know, with ratings and taking a look at what's going to be
- 13:27popular to, you know, top charts and all of that.
- 13:30But I mean, when we were kids, you were like, you're choosing
- 13:33your station and that would be your genre, but you're at their
- 13:36whim unless so unless you had like ACD player in your vehicle
- 13:43or mixtapes because now it's. Possible.
- 13:45Did the CD player come out in the 90s?
- 13:47I bet it did because we had tapes.
- 13:49I don't know if the CD player came out, but I remember well.
- 13:51Your first car didn't have ACD player right?
- 13:53No, no, I don't think mine did. No, mine was.
- 13:56Wait, maybe mine did. Mine was a oh 1990 Ford Escort
- 14:01or 91 I. Don't know.
- 14:03I don't know, but I remember when the big deal, like the kids
- 14:07who put money into their system would get that five CD disc
- 14:12changer and they'd have to put it into their trunk.
- 14:15They'd open it up and, and, and people had these huge books of
- 14:18CDs. Yeah, I still have one of those
- 14:20in a closet somewhere. But you owned music, though I
- 14:26will say I don't know. And I think that made driving
- 14:29more fun because. Weirdly you still can, but
- 14:31there's nowhere to play it because cars don't have CD
- 14:33players anymore. Does might not have ACD player.
- 14:37Yours. Wait, I don't know.
- 14:39I have a replaced radio. I mean, it came with one.
- 14:42Yeah, mine didn't come with them.
- 14:43My current car does not have ACD player Well, and most cars you
- 14:47can't even get it. I don't even think it's an
- 14:48option anymore. Well, it's like when you go to
- 14:51the car shows, antique car shows.
- 14:55Antique. What do you call them?
- 14:56Antique Are we antiques? Collector car shows I'm not.
- 15:00This. I don't want any of these terms
- 15:01to classify me. No, no, no.
- 15:04So like the old car shows. Fair that we would go to so like
- 15:07cars from the 60s and. Right. 50s, seventies, stuff
- 15:11like that. But like the radios were just,
- 15:13you know, they were different. And I wonder, like when they're
- 15:15pressing those buttons to listen to the radio, are they really
- 15:18getting anything on that, you know, like the AMI mean?
- 15:21I know AM still exists. Yeah, it does.
- 15:23So does FM. But, I mean, they're both still
- 15:25dying. It's dying out.
- 15:27You know, that's true. You used to have a whole bunch
- 15:29more options and you don't know. So maybe, OK, I'm gonna say the
- 15:34musical change is maybe changing driving, because there's nothing
- 15:37like that. Just driving, listening to
- 15:39music. I agree.
- 15:41I love doing that on my own terms.
- 15:44You. Let me tag along though.
- 15:47Sure, yeah. But I'm saying like when you're
- 15:50driving to do something you don't want to do, like driving
- 15:52to go to work or driving to. Some people like going to work,
- 15:58Amber. I mean, I love my job.
- 16:01For anyone who's listening, just don't.
- 16:03Want to go drive to work and be stuck in traffic and deal with
- 16:07all the dingbats Who are I? I don't know.
- 16:12Am IA dingbat. Well, OK, when you are a
- 16:17passenger in the car, you were saying that you're complicit by
- 16:19being a passenger. I'm going to say being a
- 16:23passenger in your car. I don't feel complicit because I
- 16:25feel like I do tell you you're being a dingbat.
- 16:29You know, I think for a while you were really much more
- 16:33reserved and actually I kind of was annoyed with you because I'm
- 16:36like, why are you driving so flipping slow?
- 16:39I went through a phase. Yeah, you did.
- 16:41You did. Am I not currently inside the
- 16:44the phase you're talking about? I think when you got back to
- 16:46driving a lot longer, so for a little while Luke only had like
- 16:50a 5 minute commute to work. That was cool.
- 16:53And so he was. That was real cool.
- 16:55Wasn't speeding, but now you have a really long commute to
- 16:57work and you've gotten back to enjoying speeding.
- 17:00But I don't think that one led to the other.
- 17:03I actually remember what led to the the change was right after a
- 17:08child was born. You were like, I've got a kid in
- 17:12the car. That makes sense.
- 17:13And now I care. Don't be dangerous.
- 17:16Where before that you were did not.
- 17:18She was a cute little baby. She was a little baby, Yeah.
- 17:20Very cute, yeah. But before that you were like
- 17:24speed limit. Who's that for?
- 17:27It's not for me. Stop signs.
- 17:29Who's that for? That's also not for me.
- 17:32Turn signals. You would use them, but you're
- 17:34like. I'm a big fan, big fan of turn
- 17:36signals. I think everyone ought to use
- 17:37them more than they do. Right.
- 17:39Because I want to know what you're doing.
- 17:41I think that's a fair question. I find myself looking at
- 17:44people's like where their head is going in cars because I drive
- 17:47so much. I'm like always on the defensive
- 17:50for is somebody about to change lanes into me and not tell me
- 17:54they're coming with their blinker?
- 17:56You know what was really interesting for a little while
- 17:59and I, I hate thinking about this time because it was such a
- 18:01hard time living but in the pandemic period in the
- 18:07beginning. COVID times, that's what we're
- 18:09calling it. How it was like so wild, Wild
- 18:12West on the highway. Oh, for sure.
- 18:14And I it was. Kind of awesome.
- 18:16It was so weird. There were like 4 cars, you
- 18:18know, like everybody's going 110 miles per.
- 18:21Hour they were like, we're all out here, don't know if we're
- 18:23going to die today or tomorrow, so we're just driving like we
- 18:26don't care. They're like, we're essential, I
- 18:28suppose, and. I was essential.
- 18:31I was Mad Max out there. Yeah.
- 18:33Me and the other 10 people that had to go to work.
- 18:35Terrifying if you had to go on the roads at that.
- 18:38Time. It was amazing.
- 18:39There was no traffic. And no police were going to pull
- 18:41you over because they're like, what?
- 18:42I don't want to catch COVID. Listen, my hour long commute was
- 18:44like 35 minutes. OK.
- 18:46No, that's not actually OK. That's how long it took you.
- 18:49But I don't think that was ever supposed to be the intended
- 18:52drive time. Well, I mean, I probably maybe I
- 18:56shaved off 5 minutes of the commute with the additional
- 19:03speeding. I was gonna try to come up with
- 19:05a cooler word, but I couldn't. Yeah, yeah.
- 19:09Well, and I, I mean I, I might have a lead foot every once in a
- 19:14while. Thankfully now our vehicles
- 19:18don't allow us to have too LED of a foot.
- 19:21Yeah, there's certain vehicles that you drive and it's it's too
- 19:24easy to speed in them. I've had a couple of those.
- 19:27Oh yeah, I had this one, one vehicle once, this little Audi,
- 19:32and it was so easy to speed in that vehicle and.
- 19:35Oh yeah. That was a fun car that we owned
- 19:37for. Six months.
- 19:38So fun. Yeah.
- 19:40Terrible, terrible decision making it.
- 19:43Was bad decision making if. You're ever on vacation in
- 19:46California, people. Don't just buy a car.
- 19:48Don't impulse buy a car, cancel your flight and drive home.
- 19:51Yeah, but it was a cool car. It had that racing green
- 19:55metallic. It was beautiful.
- 19:57I thought it was more of a emerald green.
- 19:59Well, I think it was. And it was like a convertible.
- 20:02And I mean, it was a Audi. So for me, I was like, that's,
- 20:05that's pretty boozy. Right there.
- 20:07Fancy. Yeah, it was, it was a lot of
- 20:09fun to just. I mean, I feel like I kind of
- 20:11had that thought in my mind a little bit before we went out
- 20:14there that I wanted a vehicle like that, otherwise we wouldn't
- 20:17have driven. Sure.
- 20:18To we were looking out here. Yeah, yeah.
- 20:20But we didn't have the right one, and that wasn't the right
- 20:24one in the long run either that. Definitely qualifies as
- 20:29bourgeois it. Was an impulse pilot.
- 20:31Yeah, it only like only lasted about six months.
- 20:35That car wasn't made for Minnesota.
- 20:37I don't think that was the problem.
- 20:38I don't even remember why I got. Maybe I was like, I just can't
- 20:41drive responsibly in this thing. You traumatized the car into
- 20:44submission. That's what happened.
- 20:47You told me about when you would go around cloverleafs.
- 20:52Oh damn, so turned. On all the warning lights.
- 20:56Yes. Because you were going too fast.
- 20:58I think the car, No, I'm not saying I don't know that.
- 21:02That is why. That sounds like a mechanical
- 21:04error on the vehicles. I mean, if the car can't go
- 21:07around a cloverleaf at 50 or 60, what's it even for, right?
- 21:10My point is all the warning lights going off on a vehicle
- 21:14going. On a Jeep, go around a
- 21:16cloverleaf at like 20. Five.
- 21:18Yeah, Yeah. And people behind you are like
- 21:21honking their horn. They're so mad at you 'cause
- 21:24you're taking so long and you're like, if you've ever driven on 2
- 21:27tires, you would not be going fast.
- 21:29I like seeing that bumper sticker on a Jeep that says I
- 21:32bought a Jeep or something. Something like it's it's not
- 21:36fast, it's a Jeep go around. Somewhere, right, Right.
- 21:39It's a funny bumper. Well, it's like a brick, you
- 21:41know, And we are Jeep people. We've I've had Jeeps.
- 21:45I'm also a fast car people, but I don't I don't have the
- 21:49finances to keep up with it or the restraint.
- 21:53That's. Not go to jail in one.
- 21:56Right. I feel like our speeding
- 21:57tickets, I don't actually. I've never gotten a speeding
- 22:00ticket. I've only had one or two.
- 22:03I mean, we don't need to go into that too much, but I've never
- 22:06had one. Now, have I been pulled over?
- 22:09Sure. Would I deserve a speeding
- 22:12ticket if I got 1 have? You ever gotten a ticket?
- 22:14No. Oh my goodness.
- 22:16No, because I'm a safe driver. Because girl power.
- 22:20I don't think so. I don't think so.
- 22:22I mean, I've been pulled over, right?
- 22:25And I think the important thing is, as a life lesson is be
- 22:30honest. And then if you're being honest,
- 22:34maybe the right things will happen.
- 22:35That has been my scenario when I've been pulled over.
- 22:39You know, not me. I feel like you probably also
- 22:43aren't always being honest. I'm not, I mean.
- 22:45Oh, no, I don't think it's about honesty.
- 22:47I just think the violations that I have been flagged for have
- 22:51been past the Gray area of, you know, is this OK?
- 22:57Does he know what he's doing? I think it's been more of a
- 23:00clearly this is a problem and this young fella needs to be
- 23:04corrected. Oh yeah, there's some good
- 23:07stories that I don't think I'm allowed to, I mean.
- 23:08My 20s were wild. They were wild.
- 23:12They were wild. There's a reason why your
- 23:13insurance as a 20 year old should have been higher.
- 23:17I think it was more than my car payment for a while.
- 23:21I wouldn't be, I'm sure of that actually.
- 23:24Well, also I think you had a vehicle without a payment for a
- 23:27little bit. I did.
- 23:28Well, yeah, of course. Well, the Mercury, yeah.
- 23:30Yeah, because it was a double hand me down.
- 23:32Yeah. First, this is my granddaddy's
- 23:34car, and he gave it to my mom. She gave it to me.
- 23:37Yeah. It leaked out all the power
- 23:39steering like every couple of days.
- 23:41Later in its life, it had a really good long life actually.
- 23:45I actually wish and you could fix that vehicle.
- 23:48I fixed it a bunch of times. I don't like the way a lot of
- 23:52vehicles are made nowadays where you can't really fix them.
- 23:56That's true. They're very, very advanced.
- 23:59Yeah, I don't like that. And I just feel like that's also
- 24:01making them not last as long. Or maybe it's our attention
- 24:05span, I don't know. But it seems like there's just
- 24:08not that many old vehicles or maybe all vehicles.
- 24:12I have a problem with this. I can answer most vehicle
- 24:15questions, so I'm ready for you to say whatever.
- 24:17Really want vehicles to look extremely different from each
- 24:21other and I feel like I look at the road and it's just a bunch
- 24:25of the sea of the same 100%, you know and I personally it's.
- 24:29The Plague of SU VS. I'm going to ask all vehicle
- 24:33manufacturers. Everyone pay attention.
- 24:35Can you please make something shinier, differentiate yourself
- 24:41and you know what? Even if it's ugly because
- 24:43there's been some vehicles where I'm like oh that's trash, but at
- 24:46least it's different. Like the Pontiac Aztec.
- 24:49I don't. I don't, yeah, I mean.
- 24:51Fiasu V hit cross. Or that one.
- 24:54I really didn't like the avalanche.
- 24:56Garbage can. Oh.
- 24:58Yeah, politics aside, the dumpster's a dumpster.
- 25:02You have to agree that The thing is shaped like an actual.
- 25:05Dumpster it is. It's terribly ugly and I look at
- 25:08it and every time like but also gigantic.
- 25:12At least I have a reaction to it.
- 25:14Also they call it a truck. I have never seen one towing
- 25:16anything or carrying anything. I think of a truck in a very
- 25:20specific manner, and this is probably from my 1900s
- 25:24viewpoint. From the 1900s and.
- 25:27I think it needs like I think truck and I think pickup pickup
- 25:31truck. Like that's what it should be.
- 25:34You can put stuff into the back. Put it in the back in the truck.
- 25:39I can you do that with the dumpster vehicle?
- 25:41I believe there's some method of putting stuff in the back, like
- 25:45maybe it has a retractable thing, but again, I have never
- 25:49seen a person who owns 1 using it as a truck.
- 25:52Yeah, which doesn't surprise me because I don't think the people
- 25:55buying $100,000 electric triangle are like, I need to tow
- 26:00my boat to the lake. Or I have construction to do.
- 26:03Yeah, I need my tools for construction.
- 26:07It maybe it maybe it could, I don't know.
- 26:09Yeah, I feel like it doesn't. But anyhow, the other, the other
- 26:12thing, I'm gonna beg. Or manufacturers all the again,
- 26:17pay attention manufacturers. Find another color besides
- 26:20black, red, white and Gray. And silver and you went too far
- 26:26with red. Cuz there's right, right?
- 26:28OK, not red, not red like burgundy.
- 26:31It's mostly just the mute colors.
- 26:34I want more colors like I wanna see the rainbow on the road yes
- 26:39I don't just. And it's fine if you drive a not
- 26:42rainbow vehicle cuz good luck finding one.
- 26:45One of the reasons why I enjoy the vehicles that I enjoy is
- 26:48because I want. They make fun colors.
- 26:51A fun color vehicle. It's really sports cars and
- 26:54Jeeps. Yeah, that's the if you want a
- 26:56fun color, that's where you're going.
- 26:58Yeah. Or randomly some weird stuff
- 27:00like Mitsubishi had a little car that they made in like purple.
- 27:05I remember a little purple color.
- 27:07There was like a little yellow car.
- 27:09Some of the little really economical cars have wild
- 27:12colors. I think maybe because, no
- 27:15offense to the cars, they don't have a lot else going on for
- 27:17them, so they throw on a wild color.
- 27:20Please do. That, yeah.
- 27:21Oh, the Chevy Spark, which has the industry has lovingly
- 27:26nicknamed the Chevy Sparkle. I don't think they make it
- 27:29anymore, but it came in like a hot little green color.
- 27:32That's good. I like that.
- 27:33I want, I just want to see some variety out there.
- 27:36I mean, it's just, it's like we were talking about last week on
- 27:40our last episode about plane travel, just being so much about
- 27:44getting one place to the other that it's just travel now
- 27:48There's the fun. Same thing with cars.
- 27:51It's gone, yeah. And cars, it's, it's very
- 27:54similar and you know, but the cost of vehicles nowadays and
- 27:59again, I know I'm not going to go too far into that, but can we
- 28:03just make sure we're doing a little bit more of that, you
- 28:06know? I agree with you like.
- 28:07More comfort, more style style. I've driven some stylish cars.
- 28:13You have. Let's hear about them.
- 28:14Oh well, and one maybe not so stylish, but awesome.
- 28:17I did one of those vehicle experiences which you got me as
- 28:21a gift. I did to drive a Ferrari.
- 28:24Yeah, which I went to with a friend of mine and we had an
- 28:28absolute blast on a closed track driving like maniacs in a
- 28:33Ferrari. It was fantastic.
- 28:35The cars were gorgeous. They sounded like heaven on
- 28:40wheels and they drove like a bat out of hell.
- 28:43Those things were. That's been probably my favorite
- 28:47exotic car, maybe forever. It's for sure Ferrari's still my
- 28:53favorite car maker of like sexy exotic sports car.
- 28:58I've also driven a tank, which was another gift from you.
- 29:03Thank you all my cool things. The airplane was cool.
- 29:06The tank, that was a wild experience because we went down
- 29:11to this place in southern Minnesota and they, it was like
- 29:14a whole tank like thing. They had all the tanks and you
- 29:19could pay whatever kind of money you wanted to do whatever with
- 29:22the tank. We got the low level, like just
- 29:25go drive it around in a circle, which was amazing.
- 29:28Yeah, because they're insanely large and they're not easy to
- 29:32drive. I wouldn't think so.
- 29:34Like they're manuals and I don't, I think they maybe have
- 29:39two gears. I don't exactly remember
- 29:41everything was hand. Like there wasn't a foot clutch.
- 29:44Like the everything was by hand. I don't think was there a foot
- 29:47throttle? I don't even remember.
- 29:48I just remember having my head out of a little hole to like
- 29:53look up over the front of the tank and down below.
- 29:56Inside the tank was where you were controlling the machine and
- 30:00it had two tracks. And so like your right hand was
- 30:03the right track and your left hand was the left track.
- 30:06Interesting. Super fun and they both were
- 30:08independent so you could reverse with one and forward with the
- 30:11other. Turn around in a circle.
- 30:13I was going to ask you what that would.
- 30:14Mean much like a skid steer which is AKA a bobcat.
- 30:20It was super fun and then we got to watch people drive tanks over
- 30:24entire cars. Like they paid a bunch of money
- 30:26to drive over a junker, which if I ever did it again 100% I want
- 30:30to do that because it was awesome.
- 30:32Like the cars would pop from the weight, like the glass would
- 30:36explode out. It was awesome.
- 30:39And you could pay to drive it through a semi trailer, like
- 30:43like a semi trailer enclosed, but you'd drive the tank through
- 30:46the middle of it like smash bang pow through.
- 30:50The metal walls. Through the Yeah, right through
- 30:53it. They also had retired mobile
- 30:56homes as well. You could drive through right
- 30:59through the middle do. You think they would go?
- 31:01Though Oh, not very fast the the, the big one, the fast one I
- 31:04think was an Abrams tank and I think they maybe they top out at
- 31:08like 30 or something, but you know, maybe 4, I don't know.
- 31:11Not very fast. They're huge things.
- 31:13I think they weigh like 10 tons or something so you can't get
- 31:18them to go real fast because diesel fuel only goes so far.
- 31:21That well that would be what I would think you would need to
- 31:23drive through a semi. Is that container because like
- 31:28it it's you go through it and it semi pushes it and then it
- 31:32catches on something and tips over and you just smash through
- 31:36shrapnel everywhere. It was awesome.
- 31:38I always The one thing you can't do is shoot live ammunition out
- 31:41of a tank. It's federally illegal.
- 31:42Well, that makes complete sense I.
- 31:44Really wanted to shoot the giant cannon into something but you
- 31:48can't so I couldn't. Well, would they let you like
- 31:50put a pumpkin in there or something?
- 31:51Nope. Nope, there's nothing and.
- 31:54That's not ammunition. With specific to a tank.
- 31:57Like if you throw some apples in there or something, or beach
- 32:00ball. Nope, discharging live anything
- 32:04out of a tank is not OK. Would it not work like if you
- 32:07put a beach ball in there and just shoot it?
- 32:08Out no that'd. Be so.
- 32:10Fun. That would be fun.
- 32:11That would be like saying can I put a grape into a gun and shoot
- 32:14it? Of course you can't.
- 32:16I have no idea. OK, well, it wouldn't do it.
- 32:19That's not how the thing works. So what you're telling me is
- 32:22cartoons are wrong? Yes, I'm so sad.
- 32:25It's unfortunate, but it's true. Well, I mean, I think about
- 32:29things that you can do in vehicles and you wanted to do a
- 32:31Jeep, you know, or a tank to drive around in that.
- 32:35What I always wanted to do was jump a vehicle off something.
- 32:38Oh, like Dukes of Hazzard style. Yes, and I was so sad recently
- 32:42when you told me that the General Lee didn't make it
- 32:46through that. Oh no, it was they went through.
- 32:49I can't remember the statistic anymore but it was insane.
- 32:51Like they went through in the filming of the entirety of the
- 32:54show somewhat. It was like hundreds and
- 32:57hundreds of those cars, Dodge Chargers, Challengers.
- 33:02I feel like, oh, you Charger 2 door Dodge, Dodge Charger.
- 33:07I'd bet on it. And if I'm wrong, somebody's
- 33:09probably going to correct me. Well, I don't know, it was just
- 33:12really disappointed when it. Were a fun color.
- 33:15Yeah, orange, bright orange. Yeah, I know it's one.
- 33:17It's one of the vehicle colors. I'll accept.
- 33:19I mean, I all accept I think I would get my car wrapped if I
- 33:25had one of the boring colors. If I could afford, obviously,
- 33:28you know, like. That's so expensive.
- 33:30Right. Obviously I understand that
- 33:31there's some privilege in me saying that I want to have the
- 33:34color that I want to have and and that.
- 33:36You get to be picky, partly because I'm in the car business.
- 33:39Right. And I mean, I would rather get
- 33:42an older vehicle in the color that I want than a new vehicle
- 33:45in a color I don't want as well. So because even though, you
- 33:50know, it is just a vehicle, I wanna I want to like what I'm
- 33:54looking at. I agree.
- 33:55And I I love that frequently. Well, not that frequently, but
- 33:59frequently enough, I hear people say I saw you on the road.
- 34:02Yep, not because they know it's they see my vehicle and they're
- 34:05like, that's Amber. Yep, I know it's hurt.
- 34:08It's true, you know, and if ever, one day.
- 34:10I feel like my current vehicle isn't noticeable enough.
- 34:13I know it is not. It is not I, I was.
- 34:16Actually, I like it. I like it, but it's not.
- 34:18I was driving today. I missed my yellow one.
- 34:21I was on the highway today and there was another we both Dr.
- 34:26Jeeps. I have the sport Jeep here we go
- 34:29and he has the other one. But I was driving down the
- 34:32highway and there was clearly the the the larger Jeep coming
- 34:39down down faster than I was going.
- 34:42And I was like, huh, is that Luke?
- 34:44Did he have to go to a different store today?
- 34:45And it wasn't. Yeah.
- 34:47And I was sure that if he saw a little green Jeep, he would know
- 34:53exactly without, without thinking 2 seconds.
- 34:56Oh, that's my wife. I for sure would have known it
- 34:58was you. Yeah, yeah.
- 34:59Well, even though, I mean, we both do drive a little
- 35:02differently this, but this person, like the way they were
- 35:05barreling down, I was like, this has got to be Luke.
- 35:07Well, I don't know if that's fair.
- 35:10I do tend to go fast. And it also felt a little
- 35:13aggressive. I tend to be aggressive.
- 35:16I try to be not like, not like mean person aggressive.
- 35:21I wouldn't say you're mean, yeah.
- 35:22But like, if the road is there for me to take it, I'm going to
- 35:27do that. But I'm not like weaving in and
- 35:29out of traffic because I'm stuck in traffic so much that I know
- 35:32that it's pointless. Like I'll watch it happen.
- 35:34There will be somebody like super aggressively weaving in
- 35:37and out and, you know, making dangerous maneuvers and then you
- 35:41get off on the same exit ramp and get stuck at the same stop
- 35:44light and there you are at the same.
- 35:46It's silly, you know. I mean, I don't feel like I'm a
- 35:49Weaver, but there's certainly times where I'm like, I don't
- 35:52want to be around this, this dingbat on the road and so like,
- 35:55I'll get around them. Are you talking about people
- 35:57that are like going too slow in the fast lane?
- 35:59Too slow in the like OK public service announcement and maybe
- 36:03life hack number. What am I at 3?
- 36:06I don't know. If you're driving 30 mph, do not
- 36:11get on the highway. Don't do it.
- 36:13You are a danger to yourself and the other folks around you.
- 36:16Yeah, so. 30 is pretty low though.
- 36:19OK, even 40 that's still too low.
- 36:22If you're going 50 and you're on the highway, guess what you
- 36:24should It's not enough, I mean. 50 is at least like, I'm not
- 36:27expecting like if someone's going that slow on the highway
- 36:313040, which there are parts where I have certainly come upon
- 36:34that and they're the only person there.
- 36:36You don't expect that they're going that slow.
- 36:38True. You know, and you're like, whoa
- 36:39there, you know, is there something wrong with the vehicle
- 36:41and they're just out there driving that slow.
- 36:44Now I will say where we live, we do have some road conditions
- 36:47that maybe there are times people legitimately drive
- 36:50slower. But on a regular day, if you
- 36:52look down and you're driving on the highway and you see you're
- 36:55going 3540, it's time to get off the highway.
- 36:59That's true. Thank you for life act #3.
- 37:02Yeah, yeah. Don't be a danger to others.
- 37:05Also, on the same same breath, maybe you don't go 100 down the
- 37:10highway either. I've done that.
- 37:13I wasn't going to tell on you. I just did.
- 37:17Yeah, I mean, I'm not gonna talk about.
- 37:20You we don't wanna air all of my dirty secrets cuz there's some
- 37:22dirty ones. I will say I was young.
- 37:24For another episode and. I was I was less careful and I
- 37:29have learned from my many mistakes.
- 37:32There are some. I haven't had a ticket knock on
- 37:35wood in 15 years ish. I mean it, but it's not.
- 37:45You're right, it's kid. I would say it's not for the
- 37:50sake of there are some things you're doing that are better.
- 37:56OK. But Luke, let me ask you a
- 37:59question. There it is.
- 38:02I was waiting for you to say that.
- 38:04And now the moment you've all been waiting for.
- 38:07Ladies and gentlemen in this corner, claiming to weigh in at
- 38:10135 lbs. We have Amber sporting the
- 38:14finest hair this evening. It's just it's landing just
- 38:18right and wearing her Gray on Gray on Gray.
- 38:22Although part of it's covered up in a blanket, she is ready to
- 38:26bring the heat to take me down in some sort of driving related
- 38:30question. Of course, of course, in this
- 38:33corner we have Luke. He is repping the vehicle of
- 38:36choice today, Jeep at 185 plus pounds.
- 38:42Again though we are, we are locked in a tie.
- 38:45We're in a dead heat. We are nose to nose right now.
- 38:50We are going to need the votes to come in, Yep, so that I can
- 38:56win this. No, no, come out as the number
- 38:59one. What is that called?
- 39:01Number one best winner? No.
- 39:03What is it called? Like just coming in first?
- 39:05Is that all it is? Play.
- 39:06Champion. Sure, in a race track thing.
- 39:09What is that called? Champion winner, first place any
- 39:12of. That yeah, so that I can be all
- 39:14of that OK for our our podcast. You're already a champion.
- 39:19So anyhow, Luke, now you've talked about, you know, being
- 39:23dumb when you were younger. Is that what you said?
- 39:25I did. I made some, made some poor
- 39:27decisions. Now, I would say that I think
- 39:33you have grown in some ways and even in some ways when you're
- 39:37driving, OK, But I have to ask and the people need to know, OK,
- 39:47are you required to stop at a stop sign?
- 39:53Well, so here's the thing. OK, so that's a, it's a tricky
- 39:57question. I mean, by law, the answer is
- 40:01it's like on a technicality, stop means stop.
- 40:08Yes, yes. And you're supposed to stop yes,
- 40:13at a stop sign. There's no question about that.
- 40:15And I stop at stop signs when, when there are other vehicles
- 40:22involved, when, you know, when it's a four way stop and there's
- 40:28some oncoming or opposing traffic, I will come to a
- 40:32complete stop. If if there is not I will give
- 40:37it a little coast and glide. OK, now friends, I I know that
- 40:43first people who are not from Minnesota, OK.
- 40:47Just interrupted my situation, go ahead.
- 40:51You're right, I did. I'll wait.
- 40:53You were gonna bring in some geographics into it.
- 40:56I was going to. Anyway, I'll wait.
- 40:58So the reason I think this is the case is because I like to
- 41:04interpret the stop sign for its intent, which I would just like
- 41:10to point out that the stop sign, the stop sign did not always
- 41:17exist. It didn't right intersections,
- 41:22you know, back in the day, it wasn't, you didn't have a stop
- 41:26sign. You had to look around and see
- 41:29what was happening and just if there was nobody there, you just
- 41:32kept on going. And now, I mean, obviously
- 41:35that's from an older time and less traffic and less fast
- 41:39vehicles and probably there's some reasons they input the stop
- 41:44sign. It was probably more dangerous
- 41:45and there was probably more accidents and all that.
- 41:47And I get it. But the spirit of the stop signs
- 41:50law is for safety. And if I'm coming up to a four
- 41:55way stop or a three-way, five way stop, whatever, pick a
- 41:57number and I'm the only person there, I'm not stopping.
- 42:03I'm not cuz I am. I will say this, while I'm
- 42:06driving out on the road, I am very good at paying attention to
- 42:10my surroundings and oncoming or opposing traffic because I'm
- 42:14like hyper alert all the time because I drive all the time.
- 42:18I drive 25,000 miles a year. So I have to see a lot of stop
- 42:22signs and most of the time stop signs are in residential areas.
- 42:28They're not in, you know like the higher traffic areas have
- 42:33stopped lights. So for me, the stop sign is more
- 42:37about safety. So I look around as I am
- 42:40approaching the stop sign, I look for cars and people, etc.
- 42:45And if there's a good reason to come to a full and complete
- 42:48stop, I absolutely do. If there is nothing, I will slow
- 42:53down to some speed I feel is appropriate for the moment.
- 42:56Which I guess I don't want to claim a number right now, but
- 43:02let's say 5 miles an hour, I feel like that's pretty slow.
- 43:06Maybe sometimes I go a little faster, but I don't pay
- 43:09attention to what my speed is. I just, I check around and if
- 43:12there's nobody coming, I'm gliding through a little bit,
- 43:15little slide and glide. What did they used to call it
- 43:20slow, slow and go. There's different like terms
- 43:23that people use for OK stop signs and, and I think that
- 43:27that's fine. I would endorse other people to
- 43:30do the same thing. I would now if there's other
- 43:34cars around, you should stop. I might even I might even go so
- 43:39far as to say if there's I might not come to a complete stop.
- 43:43If there's one other car going the opposite direction and I'm
- 43:47clearly first, I might slow down to like 2 miles an hour and go
- 43:52through this is a whole. Other fight we have.
- 43:55And if the, and if the other person is coming from the same
- 43:59road and they're just going the opposite direction, no blinker
- 44:02and they're going to pass you same.
- 44:05I'm slowing down to an appropriate number that I feel
- 44:07is correct and I'm going on and I think that's fine and I'll
- 44:13knock on wood, thankfully not been pulled over for that.
- 44:19I imagine that will continue because I am obeying the spirit
- 44:23of the law, maybe not the letter of the law, and I rest my case.
- 44:30OK. Most likely.
- 44:31All right, so. You wanted to say so many
- 44:36things. So, so many things.
- 44:38That was your chance. It is my chance.
- 44:42I I mean, thank you for the win. Thank you for the win.
- 44:46Here we go. What if other people think it's
- 44:48OK too? Now I'm I'm pretty sure that
- 44:51like they just don't. This is one of many driving
- 44:57episodes I'm sure we will have because we have different
- 45:03beliefs and I would even say it's beliefs it's.
- 45:08Different levels of adherence to the law, yes.
- 45:11Yes, I would agree to that. I would agree to that.
- 45:15And there's not even a question. So earlier I was saying now we
- 45:22OK, so you were talking about a slow and go and and I I've heard
- 45:26this term before, but I've never heard it used in a metropolitan
- 45:32area. I've heard it used in like a
- 45:36farming area where maybe maybe that's.
- 45:40Where I got it? Where they really aren't
- 45:43actually dealing with a lot of vehicles like they're.
- 45:46They're on a tractor. Maybe, maybe, maybe they're on a
- 45:49tractor, maybe they're on a buggy.
- 45:51I don't know but. Buggy.
- 45:54Yeah, we're talking about the Amish right now.
- 45:56They're out there, OK? I don't know that they adhere to
- 45:58stop signs. I have no idea.
- 46:00And you know what? They're probably not gonna
- 46:02complain about whatever I say right now, cuz they're probably
- 46:05not listening. They're not.
- 46:07That's true. Yeah.
- 46:08But anyhow, I, I, I don't really think there's any question to
- 46:14this. The answer is if it's a stop
- 46:16sign, you should stop now. And the reason I know you
- 46:19actually don't believe this is because if there was a cop who
- 46:23wasn't driving but was parked on the road up the road, and you
- 46:28were in their visual area, you wouldn't slow and go, you would
- 46:32stop completely. That's likely.
- 46:35Yes, because you know it is wrong.
- 46:39Illegal. You still can't say it's wrong.
- 46:43Oh. My.
- 46:45Gosh, Oh my gosh. I would debate this in court and
- 46:48lose. You yes, I, I would say that you
- 46:51maybe have debated a few things in other places and lost when it
- 46:56came to driving and what you think is right.
- 46:59I mean, I've again, I won't, I won't do anything but in
- 47:02preparing for this episode in like the 30 seconds of preparing
- 47:06and I know we are past the bickering.
- 47:07However, I'm going to try to maybe help the listener slash
- 47:12viewers forget a little bit about what you're saying so that
- 47:15maybe at the end, maybe they'll agree with you a little bit
- 47:17more. So I'm giving you a little
- 47:20reprieve here. But I was reading, I was like,
- 47:23oh, what about some crazy stories about driving, right?
- 47:26I know you hate when I come at this point at this point, but I
- 47:29there's no winning. There's you cannot win this one.
- 47:32So, but I thought if anyone wants to read about kind of a
- 47:36fun or weird, I guess fun story, and if you don't remember it,
- 47:41back in 2020, there was this five year old kid and I see this
- 47:49could almost have been you at five years old.
- 47:53He had seen a Lamborghini for sale in California and he was
- 48:02like, I've got $3. He stole his parents vehicle to
- 48:08drive at five years old to go buy a Lamborghini.
- 48:13For $3. For $3.
- 48:15Well, I wanna applaud the kid. Had good taste.
- 48:18Yeah, wild assumption this was a boy.
- 48:21Yes, yes, it was a boy. That checks out.
- 48:23I wanted a Lamborghini when I was 5.
- 48:25Yeah, yeah. But just when I read about, I
- 48:28was just and the police obviously were like.
- 48:31Why can you even like drive the car if how do you?
- 48:34Well, they thought it was an impaired driver.
- 48:36It's sort of a. Well, that checks out.
- 48:38Yeah, I mean, it was, it was one of those I was like, what is
- 48:41the, what is the youngest age anyone has stolen a vehicle
- 48:43because I've actually. Was there a crash?
- 48:46No, I no, they just pulled him over.
- 48:47Oh my goodness. Also, wow.
- 48:51And the other thing is, I mean, so he got grounded, OK, And he
- 48:57had to do some extra chores. He's 5.
- 48:58What are you gonna do to a 5I? Guess yeah.
- 49:01But the thing I will say that I didn't necessarily think was the
- 49:05right punishment or it wasn't in lieu of a good punishment, but I
- 49:09also could see the other side of it.
- 49:11There was someone who owned a Lamborghini and they're like,
- 49:14kid, hop in, you're going for a. Rag Yeah.
- 49:17So even though. And the best?
- 49:21And his parents let him. Made the kids like.
- 49:23Right, right. So the lesson was still steal
- 49:26the family car. Hell yeah, you're gonna get the
- 49:28ride in the I'd. Steal another car.
- 49:30If that was my reward, I'd be like, I'm stealing auntie and
- 49:34uncle's car now. Yeah, there's a lot of we're.
- 49:36Going for a ride, I'm gonna go, but I'd pick a different car.
- 49:39It'd be slick. I'd be like, I'm this time I'm
- 49:41gonna steal a Ferrari. Yeah, just to.
- 49:44See and be like, is someone on the Internet gonna let me take a
- 49:47ride? In that Ferrari notice, yeah.
- 49:51Can I steal a Austin Martin? Yeah, I love that you're naming
- 49:54off good marks right now. Well, hey, I mean, I have been
- 49:56around vehicles a little bit in my life.
- 50:00You're welcome. I mean, OK, OK.
- 50:03You are not the reason why of everything.
- 50:07Earlier today, we had this discussion that that you know
- 50:10you. Said Luke.
- 50:14Everything else. And that motion he did for our
- 50:18listeners was the hand being looped and everything else was
- 50:22the world going around him with his fingers.
- 50:24That was the center, the axis, yes.
- 50:27Yes. But anyhow, so that was just
- 50:29sort of an interesting little story and it's going to have me
- 50:32more looking. I've heard some really fun
- 50:36little stories about vehicle. I guess stealing of vehicles.
- 50:43Most time, no, stealing a vehicle is not fun.
- 50:45But you know, every once in a while there's a good story.
- 50:48So you think it's OK to steal a car but not but you gotta stop
- 50:51at the stop sign? I I OK a 5 year old stealing a
- 50:54vehicle is not a malicious thing.
- 50:57Nor is myself given a little little quick roll.
- 51:00OK. The question is, how much better
- 51:02do you know about stopping at a stop sign than the five year old
- 51:06quite a bit stealing the vehicle.
- 51:07That's point proven. Thank you for the win.
- 51:12So that's the fight. I don't even think there's a.
- 51:15Fight. You don't even have.
- 51:17You're like, well, no, you just stop.
- 51:19OK. Yeah, that's, that's fine.
- 51:20I got plenty of reasons that it's, you know, obey the safety
- 51:23of it, stop when it's necessary. Safety is stopping the vehicle
- 51:27like someone has already determined that's what you
- 51:30should do at that spot. And I mean, I can't even I like
- 51:34we've argued about this, there are.
- 51:36Plenty of laws that make no sense.
- 51:38A stop sign. There's some like, isn't there
- 51:40some law? Like, isn't there crazy laws?
- 51:42There's like one in Alaska, like after midnight you can't feed a
- 51:45moose a beer. There's some crazy.
- 51:47I'm just saying. You think a stop sign I'm not as
- 51:51absurd as not being able to feed a moose a beer after midnight in
- 51:56Alaska? Which the mayor?
- 51:57Really. Would like to ask if there's
- 51:58some law like that. That's weird.
- 52:00It's involves a time and an animal and alcohol.
- 52:03I just want to ask whoever made the law, hey why is it OK to do
- 52:07that during the day? I just want to know.
- 52:10I've never felt the need to fight something so less for one
- 52:14of our. Podcast.
- 52:15That's fine. No, no. #19. #19 the least fight
- 52:19from Amber you maybe ever will see.
- 52:20Yeah, it's just the answers you. Have the answer is stop and I
- 52:24disagree. I think the answer is give it a
- 52:26give it a look and give it a roll or or give it a stop.
- 52:29And that's so now you got it, I guess, people.
- 52:31Yeah, you got it. It's not too contentious.
- 52:34I mean I I'm not having to defend this cuz it there is no
- 52:38defense. So how did they vote for this
- 52:43one? Luke Well, the answer is you
- 52:45vote on Spotify. Yeah, there is a poll.
- 52:49It's very simple. If you're listening on one of
