- Adam Rutz: You gotta get intentional if you wanna change your life. Wanting something and actually getting it, those are two completely different things. Brian Cain one of the best mental performance coaches in the world and a personal mentor of mine, has taught me the importance of getting extremely intentional about what it is that you want to accomplish. And I think most people know what they want. The problem is their daily actions don't always match it. Maybe you want to lose 15 pounds because you want more energy, better health, to operate at a higher level, but your sleep is inconsistent, your nutrition's all over the place, and you keep telling yourself that you'll start Monday. Maybe you're an athlete preparing for a huge season and you know there's another level of preparation that you're capable of. Or maybe you're trying to grow your business, but half your day gets spent doing things that have absolutely nothing to do with growing your business. That's where intentionality matters. Because an outcome goal tells you where you want to go, but a process goal tells you what you need to do today. And there's nothing wrong with wanting the championship, the revenue goal, the promotion, the weight loss, whatever it might be for you. But the outcome alone doesn't tell you how to get there. Your process does. What time are you going to bed? What are you doing when you wake up? How many calls are you making? How many reps are you getting? When are you training? What are you saying no to? Those are all things you can control. So here's the challenge today. Pick one thing you say you want and ask yourself, do my daily actions actually support it? And if the answer is no, don't make it complicated. Choose one process that you can execute today. It might be one workout. One earlier bedtime, one extra hour of focused work, one conversation you've been avoiding. Whatever it is, get clear on what you want, then make your behavior prove that you actually want it. Because goals give you direction, but your process is what moves you forward. Mindset, process, discipline, execution, that's mental performance daily.
