- 0:32Speaker 3: So all right, well.
- 0:35Speaker 1: I'm just kidding. I love you all, thank you?
- 0:36Speaker 4: All right? What's going on? Everybody? I am the one,
- 0:39Speaker 4: the only, the w oh okay, I e joined here
- 0:42Speaker 4: by the normal cast of misfits. We have the boxing champ,
- 0:46Speaker 4: the noble one, Zach.
- 0:48Speaker 3: That's right, I'll bring every bring anybody out.
- 0:50Speaker 4: I'll fight him. And in the Blue Corner we got big.
- 0:52Speaker 3: Z that's right, he has no chance.
- 0:55Speaker 4: And then we got me and Oger here too, Hi, Ogre, Hey,
- 0:58Speaker 4: what's going on?
- 0:59Speaker 1: Man?
- 0:59Speaker 2: I don't know why everybody woke up and chose violence.
- 1:01Speaker 4: I feel like you would have got caught in the crossfire.
- 1:04Speaker 4: And we just don't know what we're doing.
- 1:05Speaker 2: Here chilling in the corner, trying not to get walloped.
- 1:12Speaker 4: Agreed, But we're gonna do this little thing we call
- 1:14Speaker 4: a podcast. We do it every Friday. You should come
- 1:17Speaker 4: in to the Altered Corner Discord and listen to it
- 1:21Speaker 4: every Friday at nine pm. If you're not out doing
- 1:24Speaker 4: other things on your Friday. We talk about altered here.
- 1:29Speaker 3: Even if you are just like put it in the
- 1:30Speaker 3: background middle of the restaurant, blare it out sounds.
- 1:35Speaker 4: Grandma and Grandpa behind you won't care.
- 1:39Speaker 3: I used to play cards back in my day too.
- 1:42Speaker 4: Yeah, it just they're still they're still playing rummy. But
- 1:47Speaker 4: we got first off, we got the unique of the
- 1:49Speaker 4: week with big Z. Is this one of yours too
- 1:54Speaker 4: that you recently pulled?
- 1:56Speaker 3: Is not mine? I wish or at least one of us,
- 2:00Speaker 3: which is so unique of the week. I'm a little
- 2:04Speaker 3: flopping around with who's doing what? So Robin is dead,
- 2:09Speaker 3: so there's a big thing of like what's decks, what's
- 2:12Speaker 3: out there? I mean, we're gonna talk a little bit
- 2:14Speaker 3: about that moving from the metal line. But one of
- 2:16Speaker 3: the things that has kind of been like a boogeyman
- 2:21Speaker 3: for me is specifically out of Ortis they can they
- 2:24Speaker 3: can pop out of Waru or Siggy. Is there a
- 2:28Speaker 3: specific line that happens in Ortis Cards that I think
- 2:33Speaker 3: deserves its own Like the actual condition is basically the
- 2:37Speaker 3: unique of the week. I literally there are way better
- 2:39Speaker 3: versions of this card. I just literally grabbed a random
- 2:42Speaker 3: one to highlight. It doesn't matter which one I found.
- 2:45Speaker 3: As soon as I found when it was going to
- 2:46Speaker 3: be great, and that was true in this case. So
- 2:50Speaker 3: we have a thought here from ortis a thought is
- 2:54Speaker 3: a bureaucrat. This one costs four to three. It costs
- 2:58Speaker 3: Its stats are three to two three, so not bad
- 3:00Speaker 3: for stat wise as far as your bureaucrat line. It's
- 3:04Speaker 3: got the normal. When it fails in this case, it
- 3:07Speaker 3: creates two recruits in its own expedition. So that's fine.
- 3:10Speaker 3: That's not why we're here. Why we're here is this
- 3:13Speaker 3: specific condition, which is actually great in Siggy and if
- 3:18Speaker 3: it happens to be burecrat, great in Warup. In this case,
- 3:22Speaker 3: it is a bureaucrat. This one is when another non
- 3:26Speaker 3: a token character joins your expeditions. If you control three
- 3:31Speaker 3: or more characters, including this one, create an orders recruit
- 3:36Speaker 3: one one one in your other expedition. So before I
- 3:40Speaker 3: go on, like, that's so this is always ben create one.
- 3:42Speaker 3: On the other side, you do have to have three.
- 3:45Speaker 3: This specific condition does not have to be this limited.
- 3:51Speaker 3: There are cars that just say when another non token
- 3:54Speaker 3: character joins your expedition, create an orders recruit in any
- 3:58Speaker 3: expedition you choose. There are lots of these things out there,
- 4:03Speaker 3: and you see them coming at you from Siggy, you
- 4:06Speaker 3: see them coming at you from Warrow. Siggy prefers the
- 4:09Speaker 3: ones that are just super cheap. Their handcoffs are two
- 4:12Speaker 3: or one. They don't care what the attributes are. Warrow
- 4:18Speaker 3: has a more broad array of which ones that they
- 4:21Speaker 3: can throw at you, because ideally they want them to
- 4:24Speaker 3: be bureaucrats. But the super cheap ones work for them
- 4:27Speaker 3: great too, because they tend to have lots of cards. Anyway,
- 4:31Speaker 3: this the decks that are coming at me that have
- 4:34Speaker 3: two and I even saw one that had three of
- 4:37Speaker 3: these types of cards are creating a like It's like
- 4:43Speaker 3: it's not like a man a curve thing going on.
- 4:45Speaker 3: It's creating like this spam differential in the amount of
- 4:50Speaker 3: power that's hitting the board. That has really really been
- 4:53Speaker 3: hard for me to keep up with when I see
- 4:55Speaker 3: the decks like that. So my unique of the week
- 4:58Speaker 3: is that specific when another character joins an expedition, it
- 5:03Speaker 3: creates another token. And for Warrow, of course, you're looking
- 5:06Speaker 3: at bureaucrat ciingy E. They're looking for a two. Three
- 5:10Speaker 3: costs is okay, but they're really really wanting it's cost
- 5:13Speaker 3: to be two. And that's what I wanted to highlight
- 5:16Speaker 3: for the Unique of the Week, like that that idea,
- 5:19Speaker 3: And because this condition can fit on so many different
- 5:23Speaker 3: characters in Ortis, there are quite a few of these
- 5:27Speaker 3: in the game right now, so it's like you could
- 5:31Speaker 3: probably end up getting three if you wanted to invest
- 5:34Speaker 3: some like financials into this without even that much money. Like,
- 5:39Speaker 3: there's a lot of these, that is what I'm saying.
- 5:43Speaker 3: So because I see a lot of them, it's just
- 5:45Speaker 3: one of those things. If they're more rare, I wouldn't
- 5:46Speaker 3: see them as frequently. But quite often when I'm playing
- 5:51Speaker 3: in the higher Arena, if I'm running at the blue,
- 5:55Speaker 3: I'm seeing at least one of these dudes, and when
- 5:58Speaker 3: they hit the board, it's it's rough because they'll sandman
- 6:02Speaker 3: this guy. I ran into one. Oh, I didn't run
- 6:07Speaker 3: into it. I was reading someone won some event and
- 6:10Speaker 3: I was looking at their uniques. They had one of
- 6:13Speaker 3: these guys that was super cheap that could sleep himself.
- 6:18Speaker 3: It wasn't even a sandman. The two traits he got
- 6:21Speaker 3: was this crazy good trait and the sleep trait from Samman.
- 6:25Speaker 3: I was like, okay, like this is just a lottery
- 6:29Speaker 3: winning dude here, but uh, that is what what I
- 6:35Speaker 3: brought to you. I don't know if y'all run in
- 6:36Speaker 3: any of these The games I lose to Blue right
- 6:39Speaker 3: now mostly are because of this this condition.
- 6:45Speaker 2: That's always been sort of something that they can leverage
- 6:47Speaker 2: in addition to all their other strengths as well. Like
- 6:50Speaker 2: we've had the discussion before, I think on the cast,
- 6:52Speaker 2: even that power that's split onto multiple b is almost
- 7:01Speaker 2: always in the current meta superior of power that's condensed
- 7:04Speaker 2: into one. So like if you play a three three
- 7:08Speaker 2: three character and your opponent gets three ortist recruits out,
- 7:14Speaker 2: they're up advantage wise.
- 7:16Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, because it like the most almost all of
- 7:19Speaker 3: the Golden Game is one one dude, except for Krakins Wrath,
- 7:22Speaker 3: which I think might be going up in value at
- 7:25Speaker 3: some point in time. I think it has to be.
- 7:28Speaker 2: I've seen more of them, because I don't know.
- 7:30Speaker 3: Blue is everywhere in late game. Krakens Wrath can win
- 7:33Speaker 3: the game, but you do have to get to the
- 7:37Speaker 3: late game.
- 7:39Speaker 1: I really like that this one self fulfills its clause
- 7:42Speaker 1: in a warter deck or like you said, the same deck,
- 7:45Speaker 1: like you play it, it's going to fail. You create
- 7:48Speaker 1: two tokens, you've got your three characters, You're ready to
- 7:50Speaker 1: start happen.
- 7:52Speaker 2: Yeah, that's as I was sitting here reading it. That's
- 7:54Speaker 2: one of the things like if you control three or more.
- 7:57Speaker 2: This gets me with Ortis all the time because they
- 8:00Speaker 2: have a large variety of cards that say three or more.
- 8:04Speaker 2: Other and they have a large variety of cards that
- 8:07Speaker 2: say three or more and the inclusive exclusive has caught
- 8:13Speaker 2: me so many times like making a mistake like expectation
- 8:17Speaker 2: wise playing into them, and then like in draft and
- 8:20Speaker 2: and sealed environment, it's caught me up playing with Ortist
- 8:24Speaker 2: cards because I'm much less familiar with them. I think
- 8:27Speaker 2: Zach's had to give me back season like three different
- 8:30Speaker 2: things where we've been at.
- 8:31Speaker 1: The show, like a yeah, speaking of speaking of Ozma,
- 8:40Speaker 1: do you see the one that west Will posted in
- 8:42Speaker 1: the chat. It's a three to two on hand play
- 8:46Speaker 1: effect to control one more landmarks draw card. Not a
- 8:48Speaker 1: big deal when another non tokenition it creates if you
- 8:55Speaker 1: control token crete two Like good.
- 8:59Speaker 3: This one's better than the ones that I showed you
- 9:01Speaker 3: and specifically this one's great for Stiggy. This is that
- 9:05Speaker 3: three too, I'm talking about like because Sticky doesn't care
- 9:07Speaker 3: if they're bureaucrass. This is actually both great for all Blue.
- 9:11Speaker 3: But in this case, like you're you're going to have
- 9:15Speaker 3: Ciggy is more likely to have a uh. I guess
- 9:18Speaker 3: War is more likely to have a landmark actually, but
- 9:20Speaker 3: either way, well.
- 9:22Speaker 2: A lot of the Siggys do run like a token
- 9:25Speaker 2: uh I say a lot.
- 9:27Speaker 3: No, I feel like not as much anymore.
- 9:30Speaker 2: I see, I still see carriers.
- 9:31Speaker 3: I still see them occasionally, but the ones that are
- 9:34Speaker 3: like winning games typically don't have them.
- 9:37Speaker 2: Carriers pretty bad.
- 9:39Speaker 3: Yeah, the math is not that great on it, especially
- 9:44Speaker 3: when everyone is running stuff to get rid of Haven.
- 9:47Speaker 2: Anyway, there are some things that were quite like if
- 9:50Speaker 2: you've got a set of uniques that really wants a
- 9:52Speaker 2: landmark trigger, I could definitely see, including.
- 9:55Speaker 3: Yeah that that can't change some stuff like if I
- 9:57Speaker 3: had three of this OSMA, I would go out of
- 10:00Speaker 3: my way to force some end months.
- 10:02Speaker 2: Absolutely, I mean, even though it's create two recruits in
- 10:08Speaker 2: my expedition as opposed to like in target.
- 10:12Speaker 3: Yeah, that means playing the dude on the other side
- 10:14Speaker 3: and then the other two are laying here.
- 10:16Speaker 2: Yeah, it's it's still money of flex and that's that
- 10:22Speaker 2: can be so many bodies.
- 10:26Speaker 3: Yeah, it's just the value.
- 10:28Speaker 2: So every every artistic nowadays is running paper messenger. Like
- 10:33Speaker 2: you pay pay one cost, you get your little is
- 10:36Speaker 2: paper messenger one.
- 10:37Speaker 3: Zero zero, it's sometimes hald is zero zero one, so
- 10:44Speaker 3: almost nothing there.
- 10:45Speaker 2: But like you pay one, you get your token body,
- 10:48Speaker 2: you get these two and then if you happen to
- 10:52Speaker 2: have a charge in hand, you've now got one, two, three,
- 10:55Speaker 2: four bodies to hit with it.
- 10:58Speaker 3: Well then that's not even counting like what you already had.
- 11:01Speaker 3: They like they all start what they took in as well.
- 11:05Speaker 2: Oh yeah for sure.
- 11:06Speaker 3: Yeah, so like it's pretty good multiplication spread spread spread. Yeah,
- 11:13Speaker 3: and again the only answer, like effective answer is krakens
- 11:16Speaker 3: wrath and that all it is is a stall for
- 11:20Speaker 3: them until way late game because like, so what you
- 11:23Speaker 3: played a five minute card. Now you do nothing because
- 11:25Speaker 3: that faction doesn't have ramp, so that five minute will
- 11:28Speaker 3: be their turn most of the time.
- 11:32Speaker 2: Yeah, we can. You can play it out an axiom,
- 11:34Speaker 2: but that's really not your game.
- 11:37Speaker 3: I've never seen that played from axiom. Didn't even know
- 11:40Speaker 3: where this odd affection was.
- 11:42Speaker 2: Yeah, it takes too much of a of a turn
- 11:46Speaker 2: away from you to really afford it in axiom, I think, yeah,
- 11:50Speaker 2: you're very momentum dependent.
- 11:54Speaker 3: Okay, well that is my unique of the week. We'll
- 11:57Speaker 3: have some more specific on one's.
- 12:02Speaker 2: Oh yeah, that was last week.
- 12:05Speaker 3: All right? Do you buy Chipotle getting in a bowl
- 12:09Speaker 3: or a salad even though they're the same. Damn thing.
- 12:13Speaker 4: We don't like Chipotle good. They're stingy on the there's
- 12:16Speaker 4: stingy on the on the servings.
- 12:19Speaker 2: Speak for yourself, man, Chippotle and I get along great.
- 12:22Speaker 3: Chipotle gives you plenty of It's just that Midwestern They
- 12:26Speaker 3: just send you up there with that. I guess maybe
- 12:29Speaker 3: it just cracks me up. Like on their menu though,
- 12:32Speaker 3: Like whatever, never mind, a bowl and a salad have
- 12:36Speaker 3: the same ingredients you served in the bowl.
- 12:39Speaker 1: You can't be bad talking to sponsors, right.
- 12:41Speaker 2: Bowls don't come with lettuce, that's yes, they do.
- 12:45Speaker 4: Well, you can my bowl, you can add lettuce.
- 12:48Speaker 3: They have the same ingredients they don't in the When
- 12:52Speaker 3: you click bowl, it is the same drop down menu.
- 12:55Speaker 2: Just let me tell you, I have never ordered a
- 12:58Speaker 2: single bowl that contained lettuce leaves not one.
- 13:01Speaker 3: Time, but it has the same options. They're all there.
- 13:04Speaker 3: You could have picked them. You can.
- 13:06Speaker 4: You can add lettuce to your ball. By the way, salad.
- 13:10Speaker 3: Thist worry though they're the same price.
- 13:14Speaker 4: Mos is better than Chipotle. I agree with this one.
- 13:17Speaker 4: I've never heard of Pantero's.
- 13:20Speaker 2: I've never heard of three of these four things.
- 13:22Speaker 3: I never heard of.
- 13:24Speaker 2: I've never heard at those or I don't know.
- 13:33Speaker 1: I love It's literally as stupid as it looks.
- 13:38Speaker 4: But Mo's Mexican grill. Chef's kiss man, I love that.
- 13:42Speaker 3: Have no idea.
- 13:43Speaker 4: I don't well you, I don't know. If you're coming
- 13:46Speaker 4: up to the Midwest anytime soon finds and we will go.
- 13:51Speaker 4: Then it'll make you forget all about Chipotle.
- 13:54Speaker 3: They are huge. I don't want to Carolina, New York.
- 13:57Speaker 2: I don't want to talk too much smack. But like
- 14:00Speaker 2: anytime I hear about these Mexican grills like it. Every
- 14:04Speaker 2: time I go to visit my family up north. This
- 14:07Speaker 2: is in Minnesota, for for reference, they talk about like,
- 14:10Speaker 2: oh yeah, let me take you to this Mexican restaurant
- 14:12Speaker 2: or that Mexican restaurant. There's one exception that I'm I'm
- 14:18Speaker 2: going to say, is very good because it's run by
- 14:21Speaker 2: a family member of mine. But every other place they've
- 14:23Speaker 2: ever brought me is not good Mexican, Like it's just
- 14:30Speaker 2: not so there. Maybe I'm spoiled because I live in Texas,
- 14:33Speaker 2: but like you're supposed you.
- 14:35Speaker 4: Live, Yeah, you live.
- 14:37Speaker 1: Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, I believe
- 14:39Speaker 1: there is actually a mos closer to Ogre than there
- 14:43Speaker 1: is any of us most southwest. Yes, I'm I'm if
- 14:47Speaker 1: I remember correctly where you live? This is this is
- 14:50Speaker 1: in this is in your area. Hold on, we're hopping
- 14:54Speaker 1: on Google. This is the thing that must be what
- 15:04Speaker 1: There's also one where Toll lives, too, so he should
- 15:07Speaker 1: check out southwest grill.
- 15:09Speaker 2: Hold I think there's one in my city.
- 15:13Speaker 3: How have I never heard of.
- 15:15Speaker 1: On the southeastern side of your city?
- 15:18Speaker 4: Maybe go outside every now and again. I don't know
- 15:22Speaker 4: it's it's they're really good. You should go there.
- 15:25Speaker 3: Let us know how it is.
- 15:27Speaker 4: In fact, in fact, will continue talking. You go to
- 15:31Speaker 4: Mo's right now.
- 15:33Speaker 2: Okay, So I just I tried to pull it up,
- 15:35Speaker 2: and the image that Google Maps trys to take me
- 15:39Speaker 2: to is a gas station that I am familiar with.
- 15:42Speaker 4: M I see I see yah maybe one time and
- 15:46Speaker 4: no longer is oh.
- 15:48Speaker 2: Now according to this image, it's one of the in Okay.
- 15:51Speaker 2: So it's like an in gas station restaurant.
- 15:54Speaker 3: That's weird.
- 15:55Speaker 4: I don't think I've ever gone to an in gas
- 15:57Speaker 4: stations what we're talking about this?
- 16:03Speaker 2: I typed in most Southwest Grille. Yes, that's the Flying
- 16:06Speaker 2: Jay some of these things. Whoa, that looks like garbage,
- 16:10Speaker 2: But the rest of this looks pretty all right.
- 16:11Speaker 4: It's it's pretty good.
- 16:13Speaker 3: Well, next time you come down for us like that Friday,
- 16:16Speaker 3: So the Friday of the cast, you need to go
- 16:19Speaker 3: there and get something for Zach and me and then
- 16:22Speaker 3: bring it the Saturday.
- 16:23Speaker 2: We can have it for a hold on, before before
- 16:27Speaker 2: we do our normal Saturday game thing. You want me
- 16:29Speaker 2: to bring you gas station food that's a day old,
- 16:33Speaker 2: that's been in a car ride with me for.
- 16:35Speaker 1: A couple of hours.
- 16:35Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, then you can say.
- 16:37Speaker 1: Stomach hopefully hopefully you can dip your fingers in there too,
- 16:41Speaker 1: So it's a little bit of essence of ogre.
- 16:44Speaker 3: Well, you could maybe pick it up on the way.
- 16:46Speaker 3: I don't know how that works.
- 16:47Speaker 1: No, hold on, you can't bad talk gas station food
- 16:50Speaker 1: because there's I remember visiting.
- 16:53Speaker 3: Pretty bad.
- 16:54Speaker 1: I'm just saying, but there are certain gas station quote
- 16:56Speaker 1: unquote gas station food. BUCkies has some really good food there.
- 17:00Speaker 2: I guess the Bucky's cheats because it's not it has
- 17:05Speaker 2: the budget of like a Michelin restaurant.
- 17:08Speaker 3: Well sure, but still gas station technically, all right?
- 17:14Speaker 4: Any other the other place.
- 17:17Speaker 3: When we were in.
- 17:23Speaker 4: Because there's a there's a place in Minnesota that does
- 17:27Speaker 4: nothing but crunch wrap supremes, but does it significantly better.
- 17:31Speaker 4: And they were there in Roosevelt and they were signal
- 17:37Speaker 4: like it was the best. Like when you ordered it,
- 17:39Speaker 4: I didn't. We didn't quite know what we were getting
- 17:41Speaker 4: until they brought it to you. I'm like, oh, it's
- 17:42Speaker 4: a crunch wrap Supreme, and but it was significantly better.
- 17:46Speaker 4: Next time I go, I'll shoot you the place. It
- 17:49Speaker 4: was so good. It's just some little hole in the wall. Yes,
- 17:55Speaker 4: ogre metal. I'm the one' on track and I'm doing
- 17:58Speaker 4: a bad job.
- 18:00Speaker 2: Is the metal line? Is it hippo pockets? Where I
- 18:03Speaker 2: can get these trip supremes in Minnesota.
- 18:06Speaker 4: I'll look it up. I'll look it up. You you
- 18:08Speaker 4: go over the battle line, I'll.
- 18:10Speaker 2: Got my brain like totally focused meta line So here's
- 18:14Speaker 2: what we're gonna do this week, as he kind of
- 18:17Speaker 2: alluded to doing a little bit of a swap around.
- 18:19Speaker 2: Normally you would expect to see our dear friend Zach
- 18:23Speaker 2: on this particular segment, but he doesn't like Turbo. So
- 18:30Speaker 2: today we're talking about Turbo. I'm gonna step in and
- 18:34Speaker 2: uh kind of cover a little bit of something. If
- 18:37Speaker 2: you are a player who is trying to follow the
- 18:40Speaker 2: meta and that you know was on Warrow up until
- 18:43Speaker 2: now or was you know, it's just looking to adapt
- 18:46Speaker 2: into the post robin hood reality. This is for you. Now.
- 18:55Speaker 2: I am not a top tournament placing crazy, you know,
- 19:00Speaker 2: twenty days games, a day grinder like that has everything
- 19:05Speaker 2: completely dialed in. But I have played a lot of
- 19:08Speaker 2: Turbo and I do think that there are a couple
- 19:12Speaker 2: of things that you should be aware of that are
- 19:15Speaker 2: trickier than people give it credit for. And that is
- 19:18Speaker 2: this your entire game plan in Turbo, no matter what
- 19:22Speaker 2: are else, what else you're doing right, Like, you want
- 19:24Speaker 2: to turn your ability on. You want to follow all
- 19:27Speaker 2: the rules we've already laid out. You know, don't over commit,
- 19:30Speaker 2: don't spend resources where you don't have to. The big
- 19:35Speaker 2: thing in Turbo is your havens. You will win games
- 19:40Speaker 2: where you get value out of haven and you will
- 19:43Speaker 2: lose most of your games that you don't see your havens.
- 19:45Speaker 2: It's just how it is. It's how the deck functions.
- 19:48Speaker 2: It's an important part of the equation, and part of
- 19:52Speaker 2: that is knowing how and when to play your havens.
- 19:57Speaker 2: It is very tempting as a player, particularly if you're
- 20:00Speaker 2: new to the deck and you're just trying to get
- 20:01Speaker 2: to grips with it. You're going to have situations where,
- 20:04Speaker 2: let's let's paint a picture. We are third turn. Third
- 20:11Speaker 2: turn is when everybody has five.
- 20:12Speaker 3: Mana, right, ye, most people have five mana.
- 20:16Speaker 2: So we're third turn. You just put your card down
- 20:18Speaker 2: from your hand. You've got five mana. You have let's say,
- 20:23Speaker 2: like a tasty salvager sitting in your reserve ready for
- 20:27Speaker 2: you to spend one and draw you a card, or
- 20:28Speaker 2: maybe there's a tinker bell in there. Let's say it's
- 20:30Speaker 2: tinker bell. A lot of people that are new to Turbo,
- 20:38Speaker 2: when they see that they draw that turbo or that
- 20:41Speaker 2: that haven that turn, the first thing that they're going
- 20:45Speaker 2: to want to do, the first card that they're going
- 20:47Speaker 2: to want to play is that haven almost every time
- 20:50Speaker 2: because obviously you want all those boosts to go on
- 20:53Speaker 2: your characters.
- 20:54Speaker 1: Right.
- 20:55Speaker 2: The thing is, if you lead, if you start a
- 20:59Speaker 2: turn with a haven like fresh, both players have all
- 21:03Speaker 2: their man out, you're making the other player's decision extremely
- 21:08Speaker 2: noncommittal if they're going to remove your haven or not,
- 21:12Speaker 2: because they can pay their three after you've just paid
- 21:16Speaker 2: your two. They're going to kill it. And now they
- 21:19Speaker 2: still get to watch you play your first character to
- 21:23Speaker 2: the board before they have to play one, so they
- 21:26Speaker 2: still get the opportunity to react and play a two
- 21:29Speaker 2: drop that you know lets them sneak a lane after
- 21:33Speaker 2: trading their three cost removal that does not matter near
- 21:37Speaker 2: as much to their deck as your haven matters to yours.
- 21:42Speaker 2: This this timing of like knowing when to actually send
- 21:49Speaker 2: the haven out from hands so that you can at
- 21:51Speaker 2: least make it expensive for them to remove it, and
- 21:55Speaker 2: not necessarily expensive in terms of like you're actually increasing
- 21:58Speaker 2: the cost de besive in terms of processing power to
- 22:02Speaker 2: know like, Okay, if I remove this now, I am
- 22:06Speaker 2: leaving myself open to them getting a double advanced and
- 22:08Speaker 2: leaving myself open to them doing something that's going to
- 22:12Speaker 2: get them momentum even though they're losing their Haven. The
- 22:17Speaker 2: other thing that that timing will do is, even if
- 22:22Speaker 2: they don't have the removal for the haven itself, if
- 22:25Speaker 2: you start your turn with Haven, you now pass turnover
- 22:30Speaker 2: to them any sabotage effects they have in your hand,
- 22:33Speaker 2: have an opportunity to kill whatever you just brought from
- 22:36Speaker 2: your deck into reserve for you get a chance to
- 22:38Speaker 2: respond to it. That's important because again, what happens when
- 22:43Speaker 2: you flop haven with your haven. If they're able to
- 22:47Speaker 2: just sabotage it out of a reserve, it really hurts.
- 22:50Speaker 2: If they get your your salvager, if they get your Aida,
- 22:57Speaker 2: if they get your chronicler, whatever anything that you're just anytime,
- 23:01Speaker 2: you're just giving them the opportunity to trash that resource
- 23:05Speaker 2: before you get a chance to use it. That's lost
- 23:07Speaker 2: value for you. So one of the things that I
- 23:10Speaker 2: really like to do is I will delay my Haven
- 23:16Speaker 2: play until after the first card that I've played on
- 23:21Speaker 2: a turn, because a lot of people will see that
- 23:25Speaker 2: and think, Okay, if you had the Haven, he'd have
- 23:28Speaker 2: played it because he wants the boost counter, right. They
- 23:31Speaker 2: assume the same thing that you do, and so a
- 23:34Speaker 2: lot of times they'll play like you know their they're
- 23:37Speaker 2: Baba Yaga or whatever, something that puts them below the thresholder.
- 23:42Speaker 3: So there, if you play an axiom of the salvager
- 23:46Speaker 3: for say a one drop, they are more likely to
- 23:49Speaker 3: play a three drop on the other side to take
- 23:52Speaker 3: the line from the accidum salvager or something.
- 23:55Speaker 2: Yeah, you could bait it out and what that lets
- 23:57Speaker 2: you do it particularly like great example, I played a
- 24:02Speaker 2: game to warm up before the cast, and this was
- 24:05Speaker 2: actually turned two, so I don't know it was turned three. Yeah,
- 24:09Speaker 2: five minute. So I was playing into an a Faunas
- 24:14Speaker 2: and they had a categiar mage dancer and then off
- 24:17Speaker 2: you go. In reserve, I had in my hand my
- 24:22Speaker 2: Haven and a Kellen Elemental, and in reserve I had
- 24:28Speaker 2: tinker Bell. I could have played my Haven, got my
- 24:35Speaker 2: I had the initiative, got my resupply with it, made
- 24:40Speaker 2: decisions about what I wanted to play from from there,
- 24:45Speaker 2: but instead I led with the tinker Bell, took the
- 24:49Speaker 2: categiar major dancer out, knowing that it's a faunas and
- 24:52Speaker 2: like they they need bodies right let him. Then I
- 24:57Speaker 2: think I can't remember what he played exactly but he
- 25:00Speaker 2: played something else after that, and it was enough to
- 25:03Speaker 2: take him down below that. You know, three mana watermark
- 25:09Speaker 2: that you have to be concerned about. I then fluffed
- 25:13Speaker 2: my haven. The creature that he played or the character
- 25:16Speaker 2: that he played. Sorry, was wasn't enough to contest my
- 25:18Speaker 2: tinker belt in the first place. I got my haven
- 25:23Speaker 2: on the board. I'm telling this story so wrong. I
- 25:26Speaker 2: didn't have initiative. He had an initiative. What I'm trying
- 25:32Speaker 2: to get at is that I got to end my
- 25:34Speaker 2: turn by playing my haven, getting my resupply, and then
- 25:38Speaker 2: moving into the next round. I get to open with
- 25:42Speaker 2: my haven on the board. I get to use the
- 25:45Speaker 2: resupply whatever it is, like whatever whatever that card that flops,
- 25:48Speaker 2: I don't remember what I got off of it before
- 25:51Speaker 2: he gets a chance to remove it, and I didn't
- 25:55Speaker 2: give him like a free removal opportunity momentum wise on
- 25:59Speaker 2: my haven. Sorry, that got super convoluted. I'm trying to
- 26:02Speaker 2: like structure my thoughts and remember exactly how the game
- 26:05Speaker 2: went and things broke down.
- 26:06Speaker 3: It's part of the complexity of the game. There's a
- 26:09Speaker 3: lot moral.
- 26:11Speaker 2: Of the story. We kind of said in one of
- 26:15Speaker 2: the other segments that I think. When I was covering
- 26:19Speaker 2: for Dexterra on Why Suck It Altered, I talked about
- 26:22Speaker 2: doing the math before you start playing your cards and
- 26:24Speaker 2: making decisions. Even though the temptation will be so strong
- 26:29Speaker 2: to get your Haven in play and get every single
- 26:31Speaker 2: boost counter that you can, like possibly juice out of it,
- 26:35Speaker 2: a lot of times you don't. On the turns where
- 26:38Speaker 2: you're like establishing yourself and you're first playing your Haven,
- 26:42Speaker 2: You're not gonna need a boost counter on every single
- 26:45Speaker 2: one of your characters in order to win a lane.
- 26:49Speaker 2: And all you need to do the first few turns
- 26:51Speaker 2: as Turbo, assuming you're not playing into WARU, is win
- 26:55Speaker 2: one lane. Because then after you get your reserve stocked
- 27:00Speaker 2: and you get a Haven in play, you have so
- 27:03Speaker 2: many opportunities to take double advances from that point forward
- 27:09Speaker 2: that you just have to like give yourself the solid
- 27:11Speaker 2: foundation to then leverage those to win the game. You
- 27:15Speaker 2: don't need to play your Salvager, your Star Gazer, all
- 27:19Speaker 2: your like Amelia Earhart like all on a single turn
- 27:25Speaker 2: when you play your Haven. Just slow roll it a
- 27:29Speaker 2: little bit. Don't don't make it easy on the other guy.
- 27:33Speaker 2: I promise you you'll have like so much more impactful
- 27:38Speaker 2: turns after that. Even and even if on your next
- 27:41Speaker 2: turn you play a card and then they play their
- 27:46Speaker 2: removal and kill your Haven, you still came out on
- 27:51Speaker 2: top because you didn't let them get to your resupply
- 27:57Speaker 2: before you could do anything about it. You've got a
- 27:59Speaker 2: counter out of hate. You now aren't down the manna
- 28:05Speaker 2: that you paid to play Haven that turn, whereas they
- 28:08Speaker 2: are down the manna that they paid to remove Haven.
- 28:12Speaker 2: And you've got a body on the board, so you're
- 28:15Speaker 2: you're coming up bases all the way across. Hopefully that
- 28:20Speaker 2: makes sense. I'm feeling a little bit like I got you.
- 28:23Speaker 3: I got you. Basically it is. The Haven is your Winkne,
- 28:27Speaker 3: but you still have to be mindful of how and
- 28:29Speaker 3: when you're playing it. You didn't cover this bar, but
- 28:34Speaker 3: there are potential turns where you have Haven on day
- 28:37Speaker 3: three with five minut that you might not play at
- 28:40Speaker 3: that turn, just depending on where you're at in your
- 28:42Speaker 3: turber of status. Getting your turber tuned on earlier is
- 28:49Speaker 3: more important if you have a different line that would
- 28:51Speaker 3: take you to five that turn versus playing Haven. Mm hmm,
- 28:55Speaker 3: because getting that extra card Doral is more valuable than
- 28:58Speaker 3: just having your asset out.
- 28:59Speaker 2: There, and sometimes you just sometimes there's a very clear
- 29:06Speaker 2: scenario where like same game, this is before I had
- 29:09Speaker 2: my haven. My opening hand for this game was nuts,
- 29:14Speaker 2: so I had a bunch of junk, but I had
- 29:16Speaker 2: two salvagers and I had an eight to right. So
- 29:19Speaker 2: I went into turn one three rare cards in hand,
- 29:24Speaker 2: too to one costs and a two cost all of
- 29:26Speaker 2: which are gonna help me turn on my ability and
- 29:29Speaker 2: generate card advantage. I play my one, play my two.
- 29:35Speaker 2: The next turn, I draw Kell and Elemental and Frank.
- 29:42Speaker 2: Now when I play that Kell and Elemental, I could
- 29:47Speaker 2: put the other salvager that was in my hand into
- 29:49Speaker 2: reserve and then play two salvagers from reserve, getting like
- 29:54Speaker 2: additional resupplies to like churn through and look for haven faster.
- 30:01Speaker 2: What I chose to do was play Mike Kellen sent
- 30:07Speaker 2: Frank to reserve even though I didn't have a haven yet,
- 30:11Speaker 2: and I played Frank into the other lane, and I
- 30:16Speaker 2: was able to take a double advance that second turn
- 30:19Speaker 2: because Frank, even without anything else, was a two costs
- 30:23Speaker 2: three to three and particularly into a faunas he wasn't
- 30:27Speaker 2: doing anything. Second turn that was going to let him
- 30:29Speaker 2: contest two three stat bodies, one in each lane. He
- 30:34Speaker 2: just couldn't do anything about it unless he had drawn
- 30:37Speaker 2: I guess, like Beauty Sleep or something right. But then
- 30:39Speaker 2: if he does that, I roll into the next round
- 30:41Speaker 2: with it and I can take my double advance then.
- 30:44Speaker 2: So sometimes, like sometimes you do have to steer away
- 30:49Speaker 2: from your main win con, which is turning on your
- 30:51Speaker 2: ability and getting your haven in order to take those
- 30:55Speaker 2: moments that present themselves that are just like a very
- 30:57Speaker 2: easy strategic expedition advance. You know, I agree, Zach, did
- 31:07Speaker 2: we lose you? None of that had the word bureaucrat
- 31:09Speaker 2: in it, So you tuned me out pretty quickly, didn't you.
- 31:13Speaker 1: No, I will say when I did try the two
- 31:17Speaker 1: or three test runs with Traced, I did fall into
- 31:20Speaker 1: that trap and played my haven's too early and they
- 31:24Speaker 1: were immediately blown up before any kind of remote value
- 31:27Speaker 1: that I got out of it.
- 31:28Speaker 3: And uh that that sucked.
- 31:30Speaker 1: That really, that really felt bad, and it probably made
- 31:34Speaker 1: a lasting scar on me for play Trace it legitimately,
- 31:38Speaker 1: like it's backbreaking.
- 31:41Speaker 2: I don't know if there's any other character in the game,
- 31:44Speaker 2: a hero in the game right now, because like Turbo
- 31:46Speaker 2: is undisputably good, right, Yeah, Zack is good.
- 31:51Speaker 3: It was good even when Warrow was kicked. It's just
- 31:54Speaker 3: the fact that playing into Warrow with trace back then
- 31:56Speaker 3: because it was miserable.
- 32:00Speaker 2: I don't know if there's any other character, any other
- 32:03Speaker 2: hero that is as dependent on a singular card though
- 32:08Speaker 2: as Turbo is, Like.
- 32:11Speaker 3: Nope, I can't name one. Well, because even Water is
- 32:16Speaker 3: still good now.
- 32:17Speaker 1: So yeah, I was gonna say, you can't say Wardo
- 32:19Speaker 1: because there's still a lot of good bureaucrats that he
- 32:21Speaker 1: could play.
- 32:22Speaker 2: Yeahol is pretty pretty wide, Like there's definitely some spikes
- 32:28Speaker 2: here and there, but it's it's it's a pretty big toolbox.
- 32:32Speaker 3: Right, There's like three o's that other heroes will always have.
- 32:37Speaker 3: But like whether they see them in the game maining
- 32:40Speaker 3: that they're going to win that game or not is
- 32:41Speaker 3: not not like that. It is it's specifically traced right
- 32:45Speaker 3: now with that Haven.
- 32:47Speaker 2: Yeah, you're your value, Like the numbers that you generate
- 32:51Speaker 2: are so dependent on Haven that even like having a
- 32:55Speaker 2: bunch of card advantage and being able to play a
- 32:57Speaker 2: whole bunch of cards is awesome, sure, but like when
- 33:01Speaker 2: you're paying fair values for stats, you cannot compete with
- 33:08Speaker 2: everybody else who is not paying that same rate, right,
- 33:13Speaker 2: like everybody else has a way to sort of cheat
- 33:18Speaker 2: larger cost bodies into play or like their faction just
- 33:21Speaker 2: like Bravos. Right, their bodies are big and they have ramp. Yeah, exactly.
- 33:28Speaker 2: You You don't have that an axiom. Your your stuff
- 33:32Speaker 2: is mostly fair costed, and in order to get like
- 33:36Speaker 2: the the things where you actually do pay a discounted
- 33:40Speaker 2: rate for better stats, you're sacrificing a play of the
- 33:43Speaker 2: cart a lot of the time. Like Amelia Earhart, you're
- 33:46Speaker 2: never going to play from hand almost ever, almost ever,
- 33:51Speaker 2: so you're only ever going to send her a reserve
- 33:53Speaker 2: and then pay for one.
- 33:54Speaker 3: From Yeah, half of regard off for a lot of
- 33:57Speaker 3: your stuff too.
- 33:58Speaker 2: Yeah, and that that all like adds up over time.
- 34:07Speaker 2: This has been my ted talk, the only time I've
- 34:09Speaker 2: done that. A livey.
- 34:10Speaker 3: Thank you for joining, so continue to switch it up.
- 34:19Speaker 3: Who we have next?
- 34:23Speaker 4: Let's see we got well, we said we were skipping.
- 34:26Speaker 4: Why I suck it altered? But now I see Zach no.
- 34:29Speaker 3: No, we're yeah, yeah, Dexter was going to be here,
- 34:35Speaker 3: but he had some family.
- 34:36Speaker 4: Well he's taking he's spending so much needed time with
- 34:39Speaker 4: his very lovely mother. I forget her name, but hi,
- 34:43Speaker 4: Dexter's mom. We miss you. But Zach, What's what's why?
- 34:51Speaker 4: Why do you suck it altered?
- 34:55Speaker 1: This has been the recurring theme. I feel like, but
- 34:59Speaker 1: z has put and here play the game rust and
- 35:02Speaker 1: I put sad face. Right now, I'm sucking because I
- 35:08Speaker 1: even when I did so. I did play in our
- 35:11Speaker 1: Ace season two uh inaugural match lineup Tuesday, and I
- 35:19Speaker 1: was playing Warru our R I p Robin deck and
- 35:25Speaker 1: it does okay, but it just I don't know it.
- 35:31Speaker 1: It just doesn't have the same luster. It just feels
- 35:33Speaker 1: like it's still lacking something. And so right now I'm
- 35:35Speaker 1: just kind of stuck in between.
- 35:37Speaker 4: Yeah, you have to play it with like the same
- 35:39Speaker 4: I want to play.
- 35:41Speaker 1: Well that's and that's unfair, right so.
- 35:47Speaker 4: Wow, you got to pay the same rules and now
- 35:51Speaker 4: I can't win.
- 35:54Speaker 1: No, I'm not crying about it, but it's it is
- 35:57Speaker 1: like it's it. I haven't been plane because I haven't
- 36:01Speaker 1: found a new deck that I have been enjoyed to play.
- 36:04Speaker 1: So that's where I'm at right now. That's why I
- 36:07Speaker 1: second altered.
- 36:09Speaker 3: Because it doesn't know what to do.
- 36:12Speaker 2: It's okay, we're just pick a get together buddy, I
- 36:16Speaker 2: mean is still yeah, don't change color.
- 36:19Speaker 3: Stick let's stick with the bureaucrat.
- 36:21Speaker 4: I think.
- 36:23Speaker 1: It's not a problem. But like one of the big
- 36:26Speaker 1: things that like Zee and I have talked about brought
- 36:29Speaker 1: up is like our uniques are just not as good
- 36:36Speaker 1: as other uniques that we're going to run up against. Right,
- 36:39Speaker 1: And I could still I could still play my ass
- 36:42Speaker 1: off and still play all the right plays, but.
- 36:45Speaker 3: You still getting back to the why you suck part,
- 36:49Speaker 3: you still have to play more.
- 36:52Speaker 1: Well.
- 36:54Speaker 3: Definitely some bad lines there.
- 36:56Speaker 2: Bro I didn't like even if he did shake the
- 36:59Speaker 2: rest off, right, like knowing that with the effort that
- 37:04Speaker 2: you would put in to get back on top of
- 37:07Speaker 2: the work plays, you would still be at a disadvantage
- 37:10Speaker 2: due to that.
- 37:11Speaker 1: Like that, Like, yeah, the whole the whole idea of
- 37:13Speaker 1: this game is like having those crazy uniques that will
- 37:15Speaker 1: pop out, you know what I mean, It's just ours
- 37:17Speaker 1: are not up the Streetunately.
- 37:21Speaker 3: We have like one point seventy five in Bravos, but
- 37:24Speaker 3: outside of Bravos, I guess we have one really good
- 37:28Speaker 3: it's like the one then one, Yeah, the Sandman yeah, yeah,
- 37:33Speaker 3: that one was.
- 37:33Speaker 2: And that's an interesting spot to be in, right because
- 37:35Speaker 2: like orders, uniques are so good.
- 37:39Speaker 1: Well, the last the last breaks that we've done, we
- 37:42Speaker 1: have opened a zero yeah zero, we did.
- 37:46Speaker 2: Let me tell you, we did open a whole bunch
- 37:49Speaker 2: of ship purple. Yeah, you just were raking it in,
- 37:55Speaker 2: like eating that up. Raking in in is a strong term.
- 37:58Speaker 2: I I definitely walk away with more uniques than anybody else.
- 38:03Speaker 2: I walked away with around the same number of playable uniques.
- 38:08Speaker 4: I'll say, I feel like it's one A one b here,
- 38:11Speaker 4: Zach like I, so we've done. I don't know how
- 38:14Speaker 4: many we've done. I've gotten one.
- 38:17Speaker 1: I know one, Like I said, we've we've opened zero.
- 38:21Speaker 3: Bell.
- 38:22Speaker 4: I'm to the point where I almost convinced that Lyra
- 38:25Speaker 4: uniques they just don't exist.
- 38:28Speaker 2: That I don't know what it is about the the
- 38:32Speaker 2: faction breaks in this crew, but like they're just extremely
- 38:35Speaker 2: kind to me. I guarantee you that my own boxes
- 38:39Speaker 2: that I purchased before all this, that I opened by myself,
- 38:43Speaker 2: none of them, none of them gave me so many
- 38:47Speaker 2: uniques in the colors that I actually cared about. So
- 38:51Speaker 2: then when we we you know, started doing this, and
- 38:54Speaker 2: we started saying, Okay, I'm gonna open you know this,
- 38:56Speaker 2: this color of faction all goes to one person. This
- 38:58Speaker 2: is what we're talking about with the faction. The fact
- 39:02Speaker 2: that so many of them and the ones that we
- 39:04Speaker 2: have done have sent uniques my way was extremely mind
- 39:08Speaker 2: blowing for me. And then it just kept happening, like
- 39:13Speaker 2: I think three in a row. I walked away with
- 39:15Speaker 2: at least two uniques every time, and then this most
- 39:19Speaker 2: recent one with the gold pack included, there was a
- 39:23Speaker 2: bunch of them that came my way. Equally funny is
- 39:30Speaker 2: that all the uniques that came my way, two of
- 39:36Speaker 2: them are good, two to three of them are playable,
- 39:43Speaker 2: which is still like, this is not me. Just for
- 39:46Speaker 2: the record, Wookie, I still feel your pain, and now
- 39:49Speaker 2: that I am mostly complete, I hope that my luck
- 39:52Speaker 2: rolls to you and Zach. But I if I were
- 39:56Speaker 2: a Blue player and the luck had rolled my way
- 39:58Speaker 2: and I had gotten all those unique I bet I
- 40:00Speaker 2: would have gotten some like megabusted Blues. I mean yes,
- 40:05Speaker 2: like I said, I'm in the world of just believing
- 40:08Speaker 2: that Lyra uniques don't exist. They happened a little dry
- 40:15Speaker 2: in the in.
- 40:15Speaker 4: A little dry, A lot dry.
- 40:19Speaker 3: I was trying to be good.
- 40:20Speaker 4: A little A little dry would be called. I mean,
- 40:24Speaker 4: so what we we pulled one and it was a
- 40:26Speaker 4: robin Hood of all things.
- 40:33Speaker 1: I forgot about that.
- 40:35Speaker 4: Like out They're like, yeah, you got one, and then
- 40:38Speaker 4: everyone starts giggling and I'm like, wait, what, how bad
- 40:42Speaker 4: was it? And they're like, well, actually it's playable, and
- 40:44Speaker 4: I'm like, okay, why are we all laughing? It was
- 40:49Speaker 4: a robin Hood. No, I don't believe you, sure enough.
- 40:55Speaker 2: It was really funny when when Zach opened it, because
- 40:58Speaker 2: the way that he does it, like season before we
- 41:01Speaker 2: do right right, So we just hear him start giggling
- 41:03Speaker 2: out of nowhere. We have no context for why, and
- 41:07Speaker 2: he says like, oh, well, Wookie got one, and then
- 41:09Speaker 2: he slowly slides robin to frame.
- 41:15Speaker 4: Like it was like a double kick. It was like, oh,
- 41:18Speaker 4: like six weeks. Can we go back six weeks and
- 41:20Speaker 4: make sure that never happened? No? No, okay, because I
- 41:24Speaker 4: feel like that card's busted. If this is like pre nerf.
- 41:30Speaker 3: No okay, I mean that's We're ever gonna be a
- 41:32Speaker 3: thing like when people open Robinhood there and be.
- 41:34Speaker 4: Like wa wa yeah, it was. It's but like, I'm
- 41:41Speaker 4: literally out of all this now. I don't. I don't
- 41:43Speaker 4: have a local scene like you guys have, So I
- 41:45Speaker 4: don't get the cool nifty tournament packs, right, but man,
- 41:51Speaker 4: I only have one other Lyra unique and it's like,
- 41:56Speaker 4: do they exist in this faction? I don't. I'm not
- 41:58Speaker 4: sure they do.
- 42:00Speaker 2: My luck balance is out on that front though, Like
- 42:02Speaker 2: I get all these uniques from the faction breaks, but
- 42:05Speaker 2: when when I do make the drive out to Houston
- 42:07Speaker 2: for the for the thing, like, I haven't opened a
- 42:10Speaker 2: unique out of a out of a promo pack, yet
- 42:12Speaker 2: I keep getting the the promo heroes.
- 42:18Speaker 4: Well, I guess you would some you lose some, It's true.
- 42:22Speaker 3: So eh, And that's supposed to be like fifty to fifty.
- 42:29Speaker 2: It's like, isn't it like forty a forty of opening
- 42:34Speaker 2: a unique, you have a sixty percent of opening a
- 42:38Speaker 2: promo character. And I don't know like promo characters are cool?
- 42:44Speaker 2: I guess I personally like to have the text for
- 42:47Speaker 2: the ability on the card so that if a new
- 42:49Speaker 2: player is sitting across from me, like there, they don't
- 42:52Speaker 2: have to wonder. And I don't care about the aesthetic
- 42:54Speaker 2: of the full art as much. So they kind of
- 42:58Speaker 2: feel like a whiff when they happen. But maybe one day,
- 43:00Speaker 2: like it'll be sitting in my binder and you know,
- 43:02Speaker 2: three years down the road, nobody has access to them
- 43:06Speaker 2: and I can trade one for a unique that's cool,
- 43:08Speaker 2: and then it'll all come out in the wash.
- 43:10Speaker 4: Yeah, probably that's probably what will happen. But where are
- 43:13Speaker 4: we at? Are we onto marketplace?
- 43:17Speaker 2: Yes?
- 43:17Speaker 4: All right, my marketplace here.
- 43:22Speaker 1: I was thinking about this the last time we opened this,
- 43:24Speaker 1: like we probably should be. I mean, just for remembering
- 43:28Speaker 1: sake is putting in the prices that we're seeing into
- 43:30Speaker 1: our marketplace sheet. Oh yeah, yeah, that's.
- 43:36Speaker 2: Job congrad all right, all right, all right, so we
- 43:41Speaker 2: also need you to look handsome.
- 43:42Speaker 1: So two jobs, got it?
- 43:45Speaker 3: Well?
- 43:45Speaker 4: Last week we had a little I believe we had
- 43:47Speaker 4: a little dipping price because of the Black Friday sales.
- 43:50Speaker 4: Right this week, beyond the gates Kickstarter edition, the cheapest
- 43:58Speaker 4: I'm finding I did find one here for one forty.
- 44:02Speaker 4: That is the cheapest I am finding that is on
- 44:04Speaker 4: eBay over at max Valley Games.
- 44:08Speaker 2: Got ks is pretty low.
- 44:11Speaker 4: Though, otherwise you can't get it from our friends over
- 44:15Speaker 4: at gamer Guild a zy for one six. That's that's
- 44:23Speaker 4: what it was last week, I think, Yeah, it was
- 44:25Speaker 4: the same last week for gamer Guild. They've been around
- 44:27Speaker 4: the one fifty mark.
- 44:28Speaker 2: Yeah, I thought it was one fifty for the for
- 44:30Speaker 2: the Black Friday sale.
- 44:32Speaker 3: Quick.
- 44:32Speaker 4: We kind of all thought like, oh, maybe this is
- 44:34Speaker 4: a Black Friday thing, but it's it's I just clicked
- 44:37Speaker 4: on it. It's still there. You can you can buy
- 44:39Speaker 4: it one ninety ninety six, which a little strange, but
- 44:42Speaker 4: onety nine you can get yourself a box.
- 44:47Speaker 1: They still have quite a few boxes.
- 44:48Speaker 3: I was looking at it earlier this week in their warehouse.
- 44:51Speaker 4: Yeah, and then this one up just ever so slightly.
- 44:58Speaker 4: The just regular old display boxtop display version ninety one
- 45:03Speaker 4: to twelve kind of again another weird price, but I
- 45:09Speaker 4: believe it was eighty nine ninety nine last week is
- 45:12Speaker 4: where we found it.
- 45:15Speaker 2: So it's I've been right around that like eighty four
- 45:17Speaker 2: eighty four to ninety dollars range.
- 45:20Speaker 4: Or if you're real now, I didn't do the math
- 45:22Speaker 4: on this one. Maybe I should do it before I
- 45:24Speaker 4: get crazy, because you could also purchase it buy the
- 45:29Speaker 4: case from gamers Guild. There's six to a case yeah,
- 45:36Speaker 4: and you get you get yourself a little bit of
- 45:38Speaker 4: a discount one forty two. If you buy the whole
- 45:40Speaker 4: case per box, it's eighty five eight fifty four seventy
- 45:44Speaker 4: seven if you're interested. But check outs guild not a.
- 45:52Speaker 2: Spot there like a whole case at once.
- 45:54Speaker 4: But they should be. I've I've boughten cases of other
- 46:00Speaker 4: card games before. I'm sure Z has as well.
- 46:04Speaker 2: I've never done it, maybe one day.
- 46:06Speaker 3: Never.
- 46:06Speaker 4: I remember buying case cases for Lesh and Blood and
- 46:13Speaker 4: always being really upset afterwards. But anyway, maybe that's kind.
- 46:22Speaker 4: I just remember opening displays they were selling them. It
- 46:27Speaker 4: was like buy the light Well, no, you could buy
- 46:29Speaker 4: it by the box.
- 46:30Speaker 3: But like I bought way too many cases of The
- 46:32Speaker 3: Dead Game, so I definitely did that.
- 46:36Speaker 4: Anyway.
- 46:38Speaker 2: I think it's funny. I usually wind up like over
- 46:40Speaker 2: the course of you know, insert x period of time.
- 46:42Speaker 2: If I am involved in a game, I probably spend
- 46:45Speaker 2: an equivalent amount of money, but it's like all spread
- 46:48Speaker 2: out over yeah, next year or two years or whatever
- 46:53Speaker 2: makes it feel better at that point that like going
- 46:58Speaker 2: all in all at once, and uh, I don't know,
- 47:02Speaker 2: it's it's always been so hard for me to pull
- 47:04Speaker 2: the trigger on it.
- 47:05Speaker 4: It's a lot of money all at once. I mean,
- 47:07Speaker 4: I say, who this is?
- 47:11Speaker 2: But you know, and I'm so terrible at car flipping,
- 47:14Speaker 2: Like the the process of going out and like seeking
- 47:17Speaker 2: buyers out and doing that whole thing is so unappealing
- 47:23Speaker 2: that like most of the time when I do over buy,
- 47:28Speaker 2: I don't have that secondary like car sales sort.
- 47:32Speaker 4: Of cary case. I'm cracking that bitch, all of it,
- 47:38Speaker 4: every last one. Yeah, and I can't. I can't do
- 47:43Speaker 4: the whole flipping thing. I'm I'm open. This is why
- 47:47Speaker 4: I don't buy cases, because I know what's going to
- 47:49Speaker 4: happen next be like, yeah, I'm but a flipping for
- 47:53Speaker 4: a profit. And then before you know what, they're all open.
- 47:55Speaker 4: You're like, shit, I have nothing.
- 47:57Speaker 3: Yep, that would be me.
- 47:58Speaker 4: Yeah that sounds about right.
- 48:00Speaker 3: Yeah, So all right, I'm pretty patient.
- 48:05Speaker 4: You are extraordinarily patients. Some of us need our cardboard
- 48:09Speaker 4: crack a little more readily available than others. Anyways, events
- 48:16Speaker 4: going on right now, we do have packs going on.
- 48:20Speaker 4: Make sure you follow us over on Twitter. Cole is
- 48:23Speaker 4: uploading some pictures. I'm sure he'll give us the whole
- 48:27Speaker 4: four one one once he gets back about guests about
- 48:31Speaker 4: the convention. It looks like it is going quite well.
- 48:34Speaker 3: Don't have to guess about what next week's episodes can
- 48:37Speaker 3: be about. Yes, and then we got ACE still going on, right, Yeah,
- 48:45Speaker 3: we had a Week one of our second season pop
- 48:49Speaker 3: off this week, Yes, which hero one at all? Wookie
- 48:56Speaker 3: then No, No, I know you aren't there and you
- 49:00Speaker 3: don't pay attention to anything in the chat.
- 49:01Speaker 4: So I do, but I'm kind of all over the
- 49:04Speaker 4: place lately.
- 49:05Speaker 3: Waw WAW won the day stat wise, That's all I did. Zach,
- 49:12Speaker 3: did you do anything with the stats?
- 49:14Speaker 1: I didn't know this.
- 49:16Speaker 3: Oh my gosh, don't play the game. Don't take stats,
- 49:19Speaker 3: really show up what the I know.
- 49:23Speaker 1: It was disappointing for myself.
- 49:25Speaker 2: Exact the finals were it was. It was wor sicky right,
- 49:29Speaker 2: so like we had an all an a final for
- 49:31Speaker 2: the first time in a while.
- 49:32Speaker 3: We'll get some shoutouts though our We had a lot
- 49:35Speaker 3: of I think the coolest thing about Week two for
- 49:39Speaker 3: Week one for season two is we had a lot
- 49:42Speaker 3: of first time ACE inventters come out, so that was
- 49:45Speaker 3: really cool to see. We had after people dropped or whatever,
- 49:50Speaker 3: we had thirty nine active players start and play games
- 49:55Speaker 3: and our winner was All of the Marbles in runner
- 49:58Speaker 3: up was Garro. Oh so welcome to ACE and you
- 50:03Speaker 3: have punched your ticket, I think are. We had some
- 50:07Speaker 3: changes for season two. They now start at six thirty.
- 50:11Speaker 3: We're gonna run six weeks of eventing to earn spots,
- 50:15Speaker 3: and our final championship tournament is going to be thirty
- 50:20Speaker 3: two people instead of sixteen. The winners will still get
- 50:25Speaker 3: a retail box, so first place can get twelve booster packs,
- 50:30Speaker 3: second place will get eight. That's the overall winners at
- 50:33Speaker 3: the very end. So this is free to play in
- 50:36Speaker 3: every Tuesday, six thirty pm Central time. Come on out,
- 50:41Speaker 3: hang out, see what's winning and what's not.
- 50:45Speaker 2: It's a good time and it's not as much of
- 50:47Speaker 2: a commitment.
- 50:48Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, single lim It was super fast for this week.
- 50:53Speaker 4: Wow, wow it was so it was bad.
- 50:58Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 51:00Speaker 2: I brought all, I brought Turbo back out and uh
- 51:04Speaker 2: I in my first game, the Show in the Door,
- 51:08Speaker 2: I didn't see a single Haven across the entire game
- 51:12Speaker 2: and what not to Oh god, I was so focused
- 51:18Speaker 2: on not having my haven. I don't even remember who
- 51:20Speaker 2: I played into.
- 51:23Speaker 1: I will look got you you played?
- 51:25Speaker 2: It was a green oh exam is into at Asia.
- 51:30Speaker 2: I I got dragoned, Oh no, not the dragon. I
- 51:36Speaker 2: got dragoned and I didn't have UH. I didn't have
- 51:41Speaker 2: haven and I didn't have UH. I couldn't get a
- 51:46Speaker 2: hold of a boom to clear the dragon, so I
- 51:51Speaker 2: couldn't get the tools, and the other player did everything
- 51:54Speaker 2: that they needed to to capitalize on that.
- 51:56Speaker 1: So I'm sorry it was we we that beat you.
- 52:01Speaker 4: Yeah, A Wall is still a thing that is also
- 52:05Speaker 4: going on, right.
- 52:08Speaker 1: Yeah, they have they have two things going on and
- 52:10Speaker 1: every week they have the normal Western based, US based
- 52:16Speaker 1: Wednesday evenings that they do, and they also have a
- 52:20Speaker 1: Monday European focused that they also do and still turn
- 52:25Speaker 1: it out forty fifty plus. It's good to see.
- 52:29Speaker 4: And then our boy kaelon Guy he is running something
- 52:32Speaker 4: is that And I know you were saying it's like, right,
- 52:34Speaker 4: is it right before a wall or right before Ace?
- 52:37Speaker 1: It's right before Ace because he's in over in Europe.
- 52:41Speaker 1: He's running a bi weekly event through BGA. Looks like
- 52:47Speaker 1: this last week he had forty eight players sign up,
- 52:50Speaker 1: so still still look good.
- 52:53Speaker 3: What style is that? Like? I literally know nothing about
- 52:55Speaker 3: this event?
- 52:57Speaker 1: It is it's Swiss six rounds of Swiss, So it's
- 53:00Speaker 1: like the.
- 53:01Speaker 3: A Wall but on Tuesdays and earlier. Yeah, yeah, that
- 53:05Speaker 3: was like, lookie, if you're off, you could actually play
- 53:08Speaker 3: in that. Aren't you off Tuesdays?
- 53:10Speaker 4: I am off Tuesdays. Yes, I do participate in another
- 53:15Speaker 4: function that happens right around.
- 53:17Speaker 3: That same earlier in the days.
- 53:19Speaker 2: What we just said, Yeah, it's like it's like two
- 53:23Speaker 2: PM or something like.
- 53:24Speaker 3: That, because it's it's a European person, so like their
- 53:27Speaker 3: PM is going to be your Like.
- 53:29Speaker 1: Uh, it would be one o'clock.
- 53:31Speaker 2: One o'clock is when you got even even earlier than
- 53:33Speaker 2: I thought one o'clock.
- 53:34Speaker 3: H yeah, it might work for me. Yeah, it should
- 53:38Speaker 3: all be over by five or whatever.
- 53:41Speaker 4: I mean, I can always pull an oger in just
- 53:43Speaker 4: you know.
- 53:44Speaker 2: Oh yeah, one day I'm going to make it past
- 53:48Speaker 2: round one and then you guys are all going to
- 53:49Speaker 2: have to eat crumb.
- 53:50Speaker 4: Yeah one day, that's not today.
- 53:53Speaker 3: Last season you made it past you made two every.
- 53:57Speaker 1: Time, two or three.
- 53:59Speaker 2: But I I never got into the like the big
- 54:02Speaker 2: important player range like some people.
- 54:05Speaker 3: I was knocked out by the winner. So if I
- 54:07Speaker 3: like by after knocking Zach out the winner of the
- 54:10Speaker 3: whole damn thing did beat me. So that did. That
- 54:12Speaker 3: did help salve the wound. After I lost that, I
- 54:16Speaker 3: had one really bad turn where I got double pushed
- 54:20Speaker 3: and I lost right there. It's like I lost because
- 54:22Speaker 3: of this turn. Sometimes the draw is just real bad. True, yep.
- 54:29Speaker 4: Sometimes you just can't beat arn Jesus right. Sometimes take
- 54:34Speaker 4: that I did.
- 54:34Speaker 3: It was like, there's so many cards I could have
- 54:36Speaker 3: drawn into that would have like entirely changed that turn,
- 54:40Speaker 3: and I just didn't have any of them.
- 54:42Speaker 1: I was just the man.
- 54:43Speaker 3: The numbers were real bad that turn. No matter what,
- 54:46Speaker 3: I was going to play one card to be done
- 54:48Speaker 3: and I got double pushed. I was like I lost
- 54:50Speaker 3: the game right now this turn.
- 54:52Speaker 4: Yeah, it's always a bummer. I hate that, but you know,
- 54:57Speaker 4: you win again, you win some, you lose some. Let's
- 55:01Speaker 4: see where was I and that's it. Yeah, we got
- 55:04Speaker 4: packs going on right now. We'll get that information coming
- 55:06Speaker 4: into later tenth episode Top ten Heroes.
- 55:11Speaker 3: Yeah, guys, y'all believe that this is our tenth episodes? Q.
- 55:15Speaker 1: Yeah, crazy, I did not because not everyone has been
- 55:20Speaker 1: here all ten episodes except for me. O no o no,
- 55:26Speaker 1: I have not been here.
- 55:27Speaker 4: I believe you are the only one I was gone
- 55:29Speaker 4: for one in November, I was gone for two.
- 55:33Speaker 3: Yeah, just goes to show I've got nothing.
- 55:36Speaker 5: This is the first could every time I feel like it,
- 55:44Speaker 5: I think exactly, I think exactly. It's like the one
- 55:46Speaker 5: constant face.
- 55:47Speaker 4: Yeah. Interesting, I think I think he's correct. Yeah, because
- 55:51Speaker 4: he's he's either.
- 55:52Speaker 3: That all that all shook down, noble reliable, right is
- 55:57Speaker 3: the noble one?
- 55:58Speaker 4: Yeah, he was all excited beginning when he didn't actually
- 56:03Speaker 4: have to play the game to win, and now he's like.
- 56:06Speaker 3: Yeah, now he has to play to win, and he's
- 56:08Speaker 3: like he has gone from the metal line to the
- 56:12Speaker 3: lie suck it altered.
- 56:15Speaker 4: The line that is a drop and.
- 56:23Speaker 3: The band hammered there.
- 56:26Speaker 1: Nurse my nuts right off like a right.
- 56:29Speaker 3: Okay, So here is our next block. So in honor
- 56:32Speaker 3: of our tenth episode, we're gonna make a top ten
- 56:35Speaker 3: heroes live here. This hasn't been like prep We talked
- 56:39Speaker 3: about these ears all the time. So to make it
- 56:43Speaker 3: go a little faster though, we're just gonna do top
- 56:46Speaker 3: to bottom. And I have all eighteen heroes listed in
- 56:50Speaker 3: the on our sheet. And when it's your turn, you're
- 56:54Speaker 3: just gonna eliminate a hero first. That's gonna take it
- 56:56Speaker 3: from Okay, let's little one hero.
- 57:04Speaker 1: All raight?
- 57:04Speaker 3: All right, all right, all rock? Does anyone object to
- 57:11Speaker 3: them thinking that what a rock would be in their
- 57:13Speaker 3: top ten?
- 57:14Speaker 1: There's a couple of low hanging fruits.
- 57:15Speaker 2: Come on, all right?
- 57:16Speaker 3: Iraq is gone Ogre, it's Sadi kill a hero. Sadi
- 57:20Speaker 3: is gone. So we're down to sixty heroes. What can
- 57:24Speaker 3: you like the heroes?
- 57:27Speaker 1: Are you you're not live updating this?
- 57:29Speaker 4: Yeah? Are you?
- 57:31Speaker 1: I don't see it? No?
- 57:32Speaker 4: Is he deleted? Are you just deleting them?
- 57:35Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 57:35Speaker 4: He's just deleting them? Okay, I'll take.
- 57:40Speaker 3: Who would you say if Cole is here, he would
- 57:45Speaker 3: say something? But you know what, pol Y.
- 57:47Speaker 4: Ain't here, and he's wrong. As much as I love Novenka,
- 57:51Speaker 4: I want it to be I want it so bad,
- 57:55Speaker 4: it's just just not consistent enough.
- 57:59Speaker 2: We're doing here, yeah, and we are doing this for
- 58:01Speaker 2: like oh I mean right now?
- 58:04Speaker 4: Okay, So okay, fine, I'll take the Sira, the Sierra.
- 58:09Speaker 3: I'm agree with that.
- 58:13Speaker 4: The Venka might end up hitting top Does it hit
- 58:16Speaker 4: top ten? Hold on? Now I gotta count. We'll take
- 58:18Speaker 4: that one.
- 58:20Speaker 2: Are you taking Zee?
- 58:22Speaker 3: All right? What's lap? We got trace? Teja too, gosh,
- 58:26Speaker 3: oh Sierra. Yeah, in fact, that made it for I'm
- 58:33Speaker 3: taking it. Argent Argein's gone.
- 58:36Speaker 1: Hanging fruit yeap, yep, yep.
- 58:39Speaker 3: So that's so. Now we're down to fourteen. I think
- 58:42Speaker 3: that we can eliminate scream more. All right, So just
- 58:47Speaker 3: this will just be a pop gorgeous tell me and
- 58:49Speaker 3: we'll see if anyone objects.
- 58:51Speaker 1: It's gotta go yep, all right, yeah.
- 58:54Speaker 3: Like if if THEIOU is my thing. Like when I
- 58:57Speaker 3: first read here, before I do anything off the game,
- 59:00Speaker 3: I knew there was unique cards. I assumed there would
- 59:04Speaker 3: be unique permanence when I read this hero, and then
- 59:07Speaker 3: when I learned there weren't unique permanent I was like,
- 59:11Speaker 3: without knowing the card pool, I was like, there's just
- 59:13Speaker 3: like no way this card is good. This is a
- 59:15Speaker 3: shit hero. And you know what, it's a shit hero,
- 59:18Speaker 3: like it just doesn't have any support for what else
- 59:22Speaker 3: to do, Like everything it can do that's interesting, Subash
- 59:26Speaker 3: or Turbo dude, just do better. Yeah, all right, any
- 59:31Speaker 3: other low hanging fruits in here.
- 59:34Speaker 2: I would be very happy to see, well, very happy.
- 59:37Speaker 2: I would not contest Wren Lindaway or gul Rang like
- 59:41Speaker 2: any of those getting dropped at this phase feels like
- 59:45Speaker 2: Wren and.
- 59:45Speaker 1: Gull Ring for sure, I would agree with.
- 59:49Speaker 3: Because Wren is basically mechanically like a Tsadi and gul
- 59:54Speaker 3: Rang just good enough compared to each other. Two just
- 1:00:00Speaker 3: never play that And having played all three purple heroes
- 1:00:05Speaker 3: actually quite a bit, I gotta get rid of Lindy.
- 1:00:09Speaker 3: The only scenario where Lindy is good is relying on
- 1:00:12Speaker 3: three very hard to get uniques. And that's more like
- 1:00:15Speaker 3: that's a pocketbook thing. If you have eight hundred dollars
- 1:00:18Speaker 3: to go buy three of those that have a two
- 1:00:21Speaker 3: to one cost five great, then you have a serviceable
- 1:00:26Speaker 3: deck that could possibly get you to a day tube
- 1:00:28Speaker 3: and still not win. That's what you spend one hundred
- 1:00:31Speaker 3: dollars on.
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: Yeah that was ten, right? There is that ten?
- 1:00:36Speaker 3: Yes, that's ten six seven, ten, all right, so now
- 1:00:40Speaker 3: that is ten. So we haven't racked them yet, but
- 1:00:43Speaker 3: we have ten. Now the question is Wookie said Bassira
- 1:00:48Speaker 3: and Novenka or those got named aca better than any
- 1:00:53Speaker 3: of these guys where we have Warro, Trace, Teja, zubosh Iggy.
- 1:01:01Speaker 3: I think it's still in there. I was gonna say,
- 1:01:03Speaker 3: how did Nevenka.
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: Still because I think I think Novenka and Basira are
- 1:01:08Speaker 2: kind of on the line right, and one of them
- 1:01:10Speaker 2: was going to creep into the top ten here. I
- 1:01:13Speaker 2: don't hate it being Nevenka instead of the Sira.
- 1:01:17Speaker 3: I think, I think has got to be in there too,
- 1:01:20Speaker 3: So like between, there's the debate.
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: Really yeah, wait, what did you just say.
- 1:01:31Speaker 3: Better than.
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: Well?
- 1:01:35Speaker 3: I think it's like a half step it's a half step.
- 1:01:38Speaker 4: Ahead, but it also has the possibility to just be
- 1:01:44Speaker 4: utter dog water to like you're you're I go on
- 1:01:47Speaker 4: one or the other, and it's like, I don't think
- 1:01:50Speaker 4: it's consistent enough to really.
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I think it's if it is top, it's
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: like ten eleven, it's it's very bottom.
- 1:02:01Speaker 2: And the people that like play a really good Nevanca
- 1:02:03Speaker 2: that you see putting up numbers and stuff, those people
- 1:02:05Speaker 2: would also if they played the better hero Finn put
- 1:02:09Speaker 2: up good numbers.
- 1:02:13Speaker 3: All doubt Jet, but it would have been fun if
- 1:02:17Speaker 3: you was. I think, I like this where we're at then,
- 1:02:22Speaker 3: and Bassira bites it, so.
- 1:02:24Speaker 2: Okay, it's a tough one, but like name, every time
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: you see a really like a good Bravos player in events.
- 1:02:31Speaker 2: Right now, they're not running Basierra they're running Kojo, and I.
- 1:02:35Speaker 3: Don't know my issue when I talked about the Kojo line, right, Like,
- 1:02:40Speaker 3: just having an extra body every other turn is a
- 1:02:44Speaker 3: better boost value as a target for like physical screening
- 1:02:50Speaker 3: or whatever than having the conditional boost up thing unless
- 1:02:56Speaker 3: all three of your niqus are.
- 1:02:57Speaker 2: Like if you boost you x now, I will say,
- 1:03:01Speaker 2: I think you could convince like the bottom of this
- 1:03:04Speaker 2: tenth place really the ninth and tenth place, Subash, Novenka
- 1:03:10Speaker 2: and Bessira fighting over it. I am not going to
- 1:03:13Speaker 2: have strong feelings about the arrangement of any of the
- 1:03:16Speaker 2: three and nine, ten and eleven, Like I think it's
- 1:03:19Speaker 2: where they go, but I don't have a strong feeling
- 1:03:22Speaker 2: about who takes which of those spots.
- 1:03:26Speaker 3: All right, So now we have our tenth place. So
- 1:03:31Speaker 3: at tenth place, I think Subash Novenka, uh Kesha aha cool?
- 1:03:45Speaker 3: Are I gotta be here?
- 1:03:47Speaker 4: Right?
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: Like?
- 1:03:48Speaker 3: I honestly think Akesha is tenth here mm hmmm because
- 1:03:55Speaker 3: it's not hard to beat it, but like it deserves
- 1:03:59Speaker 3: a spot here because of what it can do. Yeah,
- 1:04:05Speaker 3: it does change how you have to play against it.
- 1:04:09Speaker 2: That's fair. I think I'm gonna have to stick with
- 1:04:13Speaker 2: my like I don't have strong feelings. I'll just increase
- 1:04:16Speaker 2: my range to eight and say any way that you
- 1:04:18Speaker 2: want to slot Subash, but Sira, Akesha and Novenka in
- 1:04:26Speaker 2: those in that range I'm comfortable with.
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: I would actually just prefer we do like this is
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: our bottom five, and then rank the top five, because
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: that might be.
- 1:04:35Speaker 2: That might be easier, honestly, because I feel like the
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: marginal difference.
- 1:04:41Speaker 3: It's relevant. They're close enough to the top six.
- 1:04:45Speaker 4: So you're saying there's four, I'm easy easy.
- 1:04:50Speaker 3: To do that.
- 1:04:51Speaker 2: Likenka goes to the bottom.
- 1:04:56Speaker 3: Akesha, Yeah, in no particular. Yeah, then Polkicon make a
- 1:05:05Speaker 3: wonderful graphic and littered the tools or whatever. There's another
- 1:05:12Speaker 3: cook who's the fourth one?
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: Isa Akesha? And is it is it? Is it Tasa
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: or is.
- 1:05:24Speaker 3: It just bottom three? I think it's just bottom three.
- 1:05:27Speaker 2: It might just be bottom three, well, because like you're
- 1:05:31Speaker 2: not gonna rank Tasa above any of these other ones,
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: uh me, are you?
- 1:05:37Speaker 3: We gotta fight about it, right like, okay, Akesha is
- 1:05:43Speaker 3: gone already rank that, So I think it's the only
- 1:05:47Speaker 3: one that's clear clut are those bottom three Akeshaveca and
- 1:05:50Speaker 3: subas are clearly worse than the rest of the seventh.
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: I would agree.
- 1:05:55Speaker 3: So at our top our current top seven that we
- 1:05:57Speaker 3: have yet yet ranked our Warrow Trace, Taja, Ziggy, Kojo,
- 1:06:01Speaker 3: Fenn and as.
- 1:06:05Speaker 4: This was easier four weeks ago.
- 1:06:08Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, war number one. Everyone else has tied bottom ten.
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: Yeah it was.
- 1:06:17Speaker 2: It was war in first spot, and then people that
- 1:06:19Speaker 2: had like rank the most or excuse me, ranked the
- 1:06:26Speaker 2: least painful matchup into Warrior, like in descending order, and
- 1:06:32Speaker 2: everybody hated to play into him. So you just kind
- 1:06:36Speaker 2: of had to find who suffered the worst, and they
- 1:06:39Speaker 2: tripped further down the list.
- 1:06:43Speaker 3: Okay, So as the Kojo player here, I played Kojo
- 1:06:48Speaker 3: a lot, and I've played fed a lot, and I've
- 1:06:52Speaker 3: played Tajo a lot. You can just say you can
- 1:06:55Speaker 3: just say that you play a lot, like.
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: I really do you think.
- 1:07:02Speaker 3: The lowest ranking of the seven is either Tojo or Taja,
- 1:07:09Speaker 3: And it might be Kojo.
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: I I don't know.
- 1:07:15Speaker 3: If I can get with that data would say that
- 1:07:19Speaker 3: Taja is seventh. If I pull data the win record
- 1:07:25Speaker 3: for Tasa across all events that I've seen, the mini
- 1:07:29Speaker 3: games that I've played in tract, TAJA's win rate is
- 1:07:34Speaker 3: not good.
- 1:07:36Speaker 4: I feel like Taja is really like represented though too.
- 1:07:42Speaker 3: It is one of the most played and least winning
- 1:07:46Speaker 3: as heroes as far as.
- 1:07:47Speaker 4: So, I think you can put that at seven.
- 1:07:51Speaker 2: She's she's kind of like she has great games. You like,
- 1:07:54Speaker 2: you will watch some Taja games where it feels like
- 1:07:57Speaker 2: the other player just never.
- 1:07:58Speaker 3: Had a doesn't have a chance, but.
- 1:08:02Speaker 2: It's You could say the same thing for Turbo, right,
- 1:08:05Speaker 2: Like you'll watch a Turbo game where it feels like
- 1:08:06Speaker 2: the other person never had a chance, but there was
- 1:08:09Speaker 2: a lot of those games are achieved.
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: Is a lot lower for Teja. I would say, like
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: before the Robin Hood Nerve, there were multiple Tation decks
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: that just womped all over the war Roow deck that
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: I played like handily down like Elio, he stomped all
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: over me and the last week leading up to Season
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: one ACE finales and then I was originally paired into him.
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: I was like, well, that's gonna suck like early out
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: for me. But I think it was also just a
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: very good player, absolutely absolutely, But like he his deck
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: was tweaked enough to where it was low cost strong
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: units and just they just stayed and they stayed and
- 1:08:52Speaker 1: they stayed, and I was like, I can't, I couldn't
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: find any removal or yeah, he's played.
- 1:08:58Speaker 2: Elliot's played a lot of games. I think he's had
- 1:09:00Speaker 2: an opportunity to kind of like z frequently likes to
- 1:09:04Speaker 2: yell at the rest of us about sharpening the blade
- 1:09:06Speaker 2: and Elios Eliot's put in the time at the Grindstone.
- 1:09:11Speaker 3: Yeah, Zags, go find his blade. You like lost it?
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: I think, yeah, it cut me.
- 1:09:19Speaker 2: Jack, Zach and I both have like those you know,
- 1:09:21Speaker 2: those nerve swords you can get off the racket target.
- 1:09:24Speaker 2: That's what we're swinging.
- 1:09:25Speaker 3: Baby. They're out there with lar.
- 1:09:28Speaker 4: Or some off brand foam.
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: Brand. We're having a good time. Soft foam. It's it's
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: soft foam or nothing.
- 1:09:39Speaker 3: Oh lord, okay, plastic swords made out of legos.
- 1:09:43Speaker 2: I think it's pretty good about this. Like Kojo six tages,
- 1:09:47Speaker 2: you think off on us five for.
- 1:09:49Speaker 3: The rest of those, Yes, out of these five, yeah,
- 1:09:51Speaker 3: because of of if you're opponus knows how to play
- 1:09:57Speaker 3: well against, this is definitely fifth. If they understand how
- 1:10:03Speaker 3: their ramp works like that, not the actual manner rat,
- 1:10:06Speaker 3: but they're like the curve on how their people spike,
- 1:10:10Speaker 3: because like Turbo is just playing a whole bunch of
- 1:10:12Speaker 3: dudes at high power. Athanas is playing one dude at
- 1:10:15Speaker 3: high power. So if you notice Savior team or trains,
- 1:10:19Speaker 3: save your keelon bursts see cloth Cocoon for that final
- 1:10:25Speaker 3: push where they're going to win the second to last lane.
- 1:10:29Speaker 3: Because all they need to do is get next to
- 1:10:31Speaker 3: each other, it's easy to stop that.
- 1:10:36Speaker 2: I don't think a lot of the good Faunas players
- 1:10:39Speaker 2: are doing that though. I think that's the mean build,
- 1:10:41Speaker 2: like where you go really hard on like a like
- 1:10:43Speaker 2: a mage dancer or whatever, and you stack one number large.
- 1:10:47Speaker 2: I think the ones that are doing well are playing
- 1:10:50Speaker 2: a variety of smaller cost bodies and spreading that stat
- 1:10:53Speaker 2: buff out using the very.
- 1:10:55Speaker 3: They kind of try to. But they don't have that
- 1:10:58Speaker 3: many characters period because they have to have so many
- 1:11:02Speaker 3: spells in the deck.
- 1:11:04Speaker 2: Yeah, but they do have like compared to anybody that's
- 1:11:07Speaker 2: not Muna, right, they have they run more anchored and
- 1:11:14Speaker 2: fleeting removal than anybody that's not Muna and Bravos. So
- 1:11:18Speaker 2: they have fewer characters, but they're often preserving those characters
- 1:11:22Speaker 2: using things that are like bouncing reserve cards back to
- 1:11:25Speaker 2: their hand, things that like they it feels like they
- 1:11:29Speaker 2: have additional reserve slots almost because of how many cards
- 1:11:32Speaker 2: they bounce back to hand and how frequently they are
- 1:11:35Speaker 2: able to get like three or four plays off of
- 1:11:38Speaker 2: a card. I not disagreeing that.
- 1:11:42Speaker 3: I think that like Flam does work that card is,
- 1:11:49Speaker 3: so that does help their situation up quite Yeah.
- 1:11:53Speaker 2: So I don't know, honestly, like some of the scary,
- 1:11:57Speaker 2: if honest players, I think are what's making my brain
- 1:12:00Speaker 2: sort of want to place in a little bit higher.
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: But that's not fair.
- 1:12:03Speaker 2: That's that's judging the character off of some of the
- 1:12:06Speaker 2: like the killers that are out there in the pool.
- 1:12:08Speaker 2: And again, like those players are making it maybe seem
- 1:12:13Speaker 2: slightly better even than it is. But I do think
- 1:12:15Speaker 2: if honest is he's he's on the come up.
- 1:12:19Speaker 3: I could argue that he could be four or five,
- 1:12:21Speaker 3: but I think right now I would have him at five.
- 1:12:24Speaker 4: I think he's at five. And then you have Waru
- 1:12:27Speaker 4: SIGGI three four. Really I feel like those two are
- 1:12:34Speaker 4: very close together.
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: Actually have I was gonna say, I put I put
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: fennit four fit for.
- 1:12:42Speaker 3: You actually experienced the reason why I have fitted for
- 1:12:45Speaker 3: right now it is the next three we're going to
- 1:12:48Speaker 3: talk about other the like Siggi and Warrow we have
- 1:12:50Speaker 3: not named yet, so obviously they're going to be in
- 1:12:52Speaker 3: the top three. Warro Ortis has Balker's unique that was
- 1:12:56Speaker 3: literally a unique of the week this week, not even
- 1:12:58Speaker 3: a specific card, just a trade. The fact that that
- 1:13:01Speaker 3: trait exists in that in blue all over the place
- 1:13:03Speaker 3: in blue gives them a ton of options there. Then
- 1:13:08Speaker 3: you like, Lira uniques are very hard to find, and
- 1:13:13Speaker 3: none of them and none of them spike like blue.
- 1:13:17Speaker 3: None of them spike even like green or red like
- 1:13:20Speaker 3: the best. The best Lira uniques in the game for
- 1:13:24Speaker 3: Lira are actually for Novenka, because there are really cool
- 1:13:29Speaker 3: uniques that say every time you roll, do a thing,
- 1:13:32Speaker 3: which is kind of super fun. But Novenka is our
- 1:13:36Speaker 3: ninth ranked person or bottom three, so if if it
- 1:13:41Speaker 3: adds something to that, there are some uniques that say
- 1:13:45Speaker 3: like win a card, leaves or observe do X, but
- 1:13:48Speaker 3: a lot of that trait is printed on a very
- 1:13:50Speaker 3: expensive body, so they lose value just because you don't
- 1:13:54Speaker 3: want to play that as much.
- 1:13:57Speaker 2: Yeah, I have sort of a personal and that I
- 1:14:00Speaker 2: always rank Fenn higher, maybe even that she deserves because
- 1:14:04Speaker 2: after after the war NERF. Like Fenn and Waroo were
- 1:14:08Speaker 2: my bookie people, like consistently they were the ones that
- 1:14:11Speaker 2: I had the worst games into and now with the
- 1:14:14Speaker 2: Warrior NERF, they just kind of flopped. Like Warrior is
- 1:14:17Speaker 2: still painful as Turbo even with that robin hood it is,
- 1:14:22Speaker 2: But like Fens destroy me. And I don't know if
- 1:14:26Speaker 2: it's my my deck specifically, is is at a disadvantage
- 1:14:30Speaker 2: or me as a player, Like it's so hard for
- 1:14:35Speaker 2: me to track all of the lines that Fenn has
- 1:14:38Speaker 2: at any given point in time, and.
- 1:14:39Speaker 4: They did anyone on any Givens, like to be honest
- 1:14:47Speaker 4: with you, because I feel like Fenna's jack of all trades,
- 1:14:49Speaker 4: master of none, but it has answers to every other deck.
- 1:14:54Speaker 2: Yeah, there's there's a lot of Strangely, there's a lot
- 1:14:57Speaker 2: of consistency there, like that additional like the free resupply
- 1:15:02Speaker 2: and the fact that every Fen that's good is running
- 1:15:05Speaker 2: alo Vera on top of it. They just they've always
- 1:15:08Speaker 2: got gas.
- 1:15:10Speaker 3: Well, my issue always is the scaling of the game
- 1:15:13Speaker 3: as far as uniqus are considered, Like, yeah, every single
- 1:15:16Speaker 3: day more uniques are opened, Like we had this Sinky Forge.
- 1:15:20Speaker 3: It's a thing like every open, if more uniques are opened,
- 1:15:26Speaker 3: all the other people that are able to find their
- 1:15:29Speaker 3: uniques regularly, like they know what to look for, they
- 1:15:32Speaker 3: know the impact it has on the deck, where like
- 1:15:35Speaker 3: Fenn is a weird deck to play, it's weird deck
- 1:15:38Speaker 3: to get uniques for. And it's like like Turbo, like
- 1:15:41Speaker 3: what you're you're looking for something that's not necessarily like
- 1:15:44Speaker 3: eye openingly good. It's just good for what you're doing
- 1:15:47Speaker 3: because its.
- 1:15:49Speaker 4: Hard deck to play, because you're you're playing more, you're
- 1:15:54Speaker 4: playing your opponent more than you're playing a game plan. Yeah,
- 1:16:00Speaker 4: you have to be very adaptive, like you have to
- 1:16:03Speaker 4: you have to adapt, like every back you play, you're
- 1:16:06Speaker 4: gonna play differently, and like you're just hoping that they're
- 1:16:10Speaker 4: playing the metal line because if they kind of go
- 1:16:13Speaker 4: something crazy outward, like you're kind of like, oh shit,
- 1:16:16Speaker 4: I wasn't saying I didn't see that coming.
- 1:16:19Speaker 2: I think if part of our argument though, is that
- 1:16:21Speaker 2: Finn ranks lower because of the like the lower ceiling
- 1:16:25Speaker 2: for like unique opportunities for her that impacts Turbo just
- 1:16:28Speaker 2: as hard, and Turbo is spikier than Finn but less
- 1:16:32Speaker 2: consistent than Finn, like Turbo spikes higher than Finn, no doubt, unquestionable.
- 1:16:39Speaker 2: But Fenn's like economic engine is built in. She doesn't
- 1:16:47Speaker 2: have to work for it, and she she can't have
- 1:16:50Speaker 2: games where it fails Turbo does.
- 1:16:56Speaker 4: That's why I would have put Fed higher. But I
- 1:17:01Speaker 4: thought more to three range these saying five, six, five
- 1:17:06Speaker 4: or six.
- 1:17:07Speaker 3: Finn was actually winning more during the robinhood ages, because
- 1:17:10Speaker 3: like that was a potential answer because of the way
- 1:17:12Speaker 3: you could use the festival there. Ben has been winning
- 1:17:16Speaker 3: way less in the current environment, and I think it's
- 1:17:18Speaker 3: entirely because of the next three.
- 1:17:21Speaker 4: I think you're rock. I don't think Waru's still on top.
- 1:17:25Speaker 4: Are we not ranked these well?
- 1:17:27Speaker 3: No, no, I don't actually have a rank for the time.
- 1:17:30Speaker 3: I don't. I honestly don't know if if people have
- 1:17:34Speaker 3: feedback on which of these they think of the top three.
- 1:17:36Speaker 3: But like right now, when I pair and when I
- 1:17:38Speaker 3: que up, a large majority of the time I see
- 1:17:42Speaker 3: Tracer Cigy outside of seeing Tracer CIGGI all the time
- 1:17:46Speaker 3: in the open arena, because that's the ones I see
- 1:17:48Speaker 3: the most by a lot. We have seen a lot
- 1:17:52Speaker 3: of instances where people are bringing in they are three
- 1:17:56Speaker 3: crazy high powered orts cards into Waru basically with cars
- 1:18:01Speaker 3: exactly like we talked about earlier in the past the
- 1:18:03Speaker 3: day and are winning with a high frequency because one
- 1:18:09Speaker 3: they are bringing these three baller uniques and then they're
- 1:18:13Speaker 3: going up against a lot of Trace and ware still
- 1:18:16Speaker 3: tanks Traced, who then tanks everyone else. So it's very interesting.
- 1:18:22Speaker 3: And Warrao will always stand up to any deck pretty
- 1:18:26Speaker 3: evenly and then has an advantage against the other most
- 1:18:30Speaker 3: one of the other most populars, and then those same
- 1:18:33Speaker 3: uniques are feeding into Siggy doing really really well, and
- 1:18:36Speaker 3: Ciggy has always had the hey I have a free body.
- 1:18:39Speaker 3: Every tournamchanic going with it.
- 1:18:41Speaker 2: Isn't Worris CIGGI matchup quite a bit worse now without
- 1:18:43Speaker 2: Robin Hood I don't like.
- 1:18:45Speaker 3: That's the one that I don't know like. I have
- 1:18:48Speaker 3: played both, but I personally actually don't like playing ortists
- 1:18:51Speaker 3: that much. So, but I have played at least fifty
- 1:18:54Speaker 3: games into Waru and SIGGI probably only about with like
- 1:19:00Speaker 3: New Warrow or whatever to play a ton of games
- 1:19:04Speaker 3: on traced, And honestly, the only matchup I dread when
- 1:19:08Speaker 3: I get traced are matchups I don't see Havin and
- 1:19:13Speaker 3: Warrow playing against Warrow is a nightmare. Leg Itt and
- 1:19:17Speaker 3: quetzecaddle kick your ass like they.
- 1:19:19Speaker 2: Just every time. It's just like every time. And now,
- 1:19:23Speaker 2: honestly I said this before, but I maybe it's just me.
- 1:19:27Speaker 2: But I'm also hitting more councils and.
- 1:19:30Speaker 3: Uh yeah, they they do need a bigger body these days.
- 1:19:33Speaker 3: And some people have pumped their quetzacuddal or technically they're
- 1:19:38Speaker 3: knocking it down, but they're moving the questacuddle down to
- 1:19:40Speaker 3: the common slot just to get the four four four stats.
- 1:19:43Speaker 3: But it still does. This thing to you is freaking
- 1:19:47Speaker 3: trist Yeah.
- 1:19:48Speaker 2: That the council I knew that I hated playing into
- 1:19:52Speaker 2: it is traced because it turns off so much of
- 1:19:54Speaker 2: what I do, but.
- 1:19:55Speaker 3: Like everything you do.
- 1:19:56Speaker 2: Yeah, war before had Robinhood is a two so like
- 1:20:00Speaker 2: and that is that was way worse than Council. So
- 1:20:03Speaker 2: of course before were running it and that council.
- 1:20:05Speaker 3: Well, the one other thing about like what's interesting about
- 1:20:10Speaker 3: the changes to Warrow. The new Warrows have better stats
- 1:20:14Speaker 3: on board than the old wars because like people for
- 1:20:17Speaker 3: kind of forget that war like that Robin Hood was
- 1:20:19Speaker 3: super weak, Like his stats to the amount of manna
- 1:20:22Speaker 3: you're spending suck three two two is real bad for
- 1:20:26Speaker 3: four to four.
- 1:20:26Speaker 2: But he was costing. He was costing the other player.
- 1:20:29Speaker 3: Yes, that's why I'm not saying it's a bad card.
- 1:20:32Speaker 3: I'm just saying, like the stats on board were actually
- 1:20:35Speaker 3: pretty low. Now, the four drops for Warrow that are
- 1:20:38Speaker 3: coming to at you are actually four four four, So
- 1:20:41Speaker 3: they're not losing on the stat They're actually playing a
- 1:20:44Speaker 3: good static card. They're getting twelve stats for for mana
- 1:20:49Speaker 3: and whatever else it does, whether it's Quatzacato at Common
- 1:20:52Speaker 3: or Council at anything. I guess the Common Council is
- 1:20:57Speaker 3: for that's the when people blow, so like they're putting
- 1:21:01Speaker 3: a bigger body on the board for when it wakes up.
- 1:21:06Speaker 3: I don't know. I don't have an answer to which one. Basically,
- 1:21:09Speaker 3: it's some kind of weird triangle to me right now,
- 1:21:12Speaker 3: like I don't know what the War of CIGI matchup
- 1:21:14Speaker 3: looks like. Feels like I don't have data on that.
- 1:21:17Speaker 3: I know what Trace versus STIGI looks like. Generally I
- 1:21:20Speaker 3: win with Trace, and I know of a Trace versus war.
- 1:21:24Speaker 3: Unless I get super lucky, I just lose, like.
- 1:21:27Speaker 2: Yeah, but I think like I feel like back in
- 1:21:31Speaker 2: the day War with Robin Hood stopped all over Siggy.
- 1:21:37Speaker 2: I I don't know if it's true now now that
- 1:21:42Speaker 2: now that they've lost that tool, I don't know if
- 1:21:46Speaker 2: that matchup is kind of swung back in the other direction,
- 1:21:50Speaker 2: or if it's just more even in general, I.
- 1:21:54Speaker 4: Don't down and I don't know. I'm still building one.
- 1:21:59Speaker 4: I really had haven't really played a ton with it.
- 1:22:04Speaker 2: I just haven't seen. I haven't seen enough yet to
- 1:22:06Speaker 2: have a strong feeling about it.
- 1:22:09Speaker 3: And we did just see in our Ace event this
- 1:22:12Speaker 3: this week, Ware would beat out Ciggy at the top table.
- 1:22:17Speaker 3: We didn't have as many traits in that event as
- 1:22:19Speaker 3: I would have expect. As time progress is throughout the season,
- 1:22:23Speaker 3: I am expecting there to be more traced. We kind
- 1:22:27Speaker 3: of already talked about it like the like the longer,
- 1:22:30Speaker 3: Like say, I'm on Warror right now and I just
- 1:22:32Speaker 3: started I built the deck, or like like like what
- 1:22:34Speaker 3: you're saying, if I'm opening more uniques as war or
- 1:22:38Speaker 3: CIGGI I'm going to have a higher chance to add
- 1:22:42Speaker 3: to my value to my deck. That's going to make
- 1:22:44Speaker 3: me better. Whereas we just did the we just did
- 1:22:47Speaker 3: the Ace Patreon episode on Trace, we talked all about it.
- 1:22:52Speaker 3: The threshold of which you're improving your deck out of
- 1:22:54Speaker 3: the unique slot is not that big for traced.
- 1:22:58Speaker 4: Did what you do number from I don't know if
- 1:23:00Speaker 4: we did or didn't. We did listen to the chat saying, uh,
- 1:23:06Speaker 4: war didn't do well today because we I mean, Cole
- 1:23:09Speaker 4: told us the top four was three trays. That enough
- 1:23:13Speaker 4: on us, what's that?
- 1:23:19Speaker 3: But that's but the interesting thing about that is the
- 1:23:22Speaker 3: better Trace does, the more warrows you will see. Because
- 1:23:25Speaker 3: like a long time ago, when we were talking about
- 1:23:28Speaker 3: like what standard metals look like in TCTS is is
- 1:23:32Speaker 3: back in the day. The old thing is you'll have
- 1:23:34Speaker 3: your meta deck, you'll have your counter meta deck, and
- 1:23:36Speaker 3: everyone else is just playing for fun. Right, So like
- 1:23:39Speaker 3: if Trace does take the reins like the true I
- 1:23:43Speaker 3: am what you have to beat, then you will see
- 1:23:45Speaker 3: more wars because I just I.
- 1:23:47Speaker 4: Don't I don't know what all showed up. That was
- 1:23:49Speaker 4: the thing, Like, I don't know how many showed up
- 1:23:52Speaker 4: because I don't think today was the main event. I
- 1:23:56Speaker 4: thought that was yeah, tomorrow, But I could be wrong
- 1:23:59Speaker 4: on that on.
- 1:24:01Speaker 2: Saying that it was like so there were three of
- 1:24:04Speaker 2: them in the ten A M. And none of them
- 1:24:05Speaker 2: made the top fourteen. I wonder what the total count
- 1:24:07Speaker 2: was because there'll only be three wars. What what size
- 1:24:13Speaker 2: event are we talking about? Like is this a twenty
- 1:24:15Speaker 2: person event?
- 1:24:16Speaker 4: Total count was low?
- 1:24:18Speaker 3: Total was very low. But we will cover all of
- 1:24:22Speaker 3: not only.
- 1:24:22Speaker 1: That it's gonna be the show.
- 1:24:29Speaker 4: Is always range event to because of how close it
- 1:24:33Speaker 4: is to the holidays.
- 1:24:35Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm a little wary of of numbers that are
- 1:24:40Speaker 2: that low. Well yeah, so I'm looking at them as
- 1:24:45Speaker 2: without like you know what I'm saying, like, is this
- 1:24:48Speaker 2: just a statistical anomaly?
- 1:24:49Speaker 1: Like, well, very well, possibly, we were talking about all
- 1:24:52Speaker 1: those things.
- 1:24:52Speaker 2: Try go aheadsach.
- 1:24:53Speaker 1: While we were talking about all those things, like, I
- 1:24:55Speaker 1: was looking over the last few like weeks data from
- 1:25:01Speaker 1: thirty nine cards and seeing what was placing.
- 1:25:04Speaker 3: Uh.
- 1:25:05Speaker 1: This last Wednesday traced top four like Boom Boom, Boom boom,
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: then a WARU and the another trace to finish off
- 1:25:11Speaker 1: the top six. In Kellen Guys, there was three of
- 1:25:16Speaker 1: the top six that were traced, and in the A
- 1:25:20Speaker 1: Wall Monday there were three of the top five that
- 1:25:25Speaker 1: were traced. So it is definitely leaning towards.
- 1:25:30Speaker 4: There you go, packs you here. I was journe it
- 1:25:33Speaker 4: was twenty two five, Trace five, Trace two, Kojo Top
- 1:25:37Speaker 4: one Itt.
- 1:25:38Speaker 3: Yeah, but they're breaking up their events like when you
- 1:25:41Speaker 3: say made event, it's like they don't really have like
- 1:25:43Speaker 3: a main main event. I don't think they have a
- 1:25:45Speaker 3: bunch of events because it's not official, like there's no
- 1:25:51Speaker 3: real op until next.
- 1:25:53Speaker 4: There is a main event tomorrow, I thought. I'm almost
- 1:25:57Speaker 4: positive tomorrow is the main of that.
- 1:26:00Speaker 3: All of these are like little bitty things they're running.
- 1:26:02Speaker 4: But like today they were doing like the hero staff
- 1:26:05Speaker 4: and the a what was it called, I'm drawing a blank.
- 1:26:12Speaker 4: They were doing a lot of their like s.
- 1:26:14Speaker 3: Okay, So tomorrow there will be a six round event
- 1:26:18Speaker 3: with the top cut of it. All of these calls
- 1:26:27Speaker 3: a judge there like he is doing doing the He's
- 1:26:31Speaker 3: doing the altered work for sure, but that's what we have.
- 1:26:35Speaker 3: So to recap our top three undefined where they are
- 1:26:39Speaker 3: as far as one, two, three are Stiggy, Trace and Waru.
- 1:26:43Speaker 3: More data needs to be collected. There's lots of variants
- 1:26:47Speaker 3: going on in all of the tourneys we see, and
- 1:26:50Speaker 3: then we have fourth fin fifth, the Funnest, sixth Kojo
- 1:26:55Speaker 3: in seventh Tasia and then we have our bottom three,
- 1:26:58Speaker 3: similar to the top three were hard to split hairs
- 1:27:01Speaker 3: where they fall. Put our bottom through Kesha, Novenka, and Subash.
- 1:27:06Speaker 3: That's what we have as our top ten at the moment.
- 1:27:10Speaker 3: I do want to like before you finish this segment.
- 1:27:13Speaker 3: I have played various number of TCGs from top to bottom,
- 1:27:18Speaker 3: from number one all the way. Actually am going to
- 1:27:23Speaker 3: cut off before I get to the bottom bottom, but
- 1:27:25Speaker 3: from one to seven, I do think with the proper
- 1:27:29Speaker 3: unique support, with the amount of like getting in good reps,
- 1:27:34Speaker 3: all of these have real shots to win real events.
- 1:27:39Speaker 3: And that is not something I could say about any
- 1:27:41Speaker 3: game I've ever played. Now that Robinhood is dead, I
- 1:27:45Speaker 3: do think Equinox has made one of the currently most
- 1:27:50Speaker 3: balanced metas that I've ever seen or played in. Because
- 1:27:54Speaker 3: when I go see these top decks, watch of these
- 1:27:57Speaker 3: top players like they're not winning a crazy large percentage
- 1:28:02Speaker 3: of their games, it is they are there. They're coming
- 1:28:05Speaker 3: real close in some of their wins and whatnot, and
- 1:28:08Speaker 3: they've been the matches that I see, So I think
- 1:28:12Speaker 3: I think they've done a real good job.
- 1:28:15Speaker 1: Only the only thing that I do have a problem
- 1:28:17Speaker 1: with I was looking at the top seven there are
- 1:28:20Speaker 1: still two Blue representatives in one of each of the rest,
- 1:28:24Speaker 1: so Blue does still have.
- 1:28:25Speaker 3: That slight Well, that's because of the uniques, many which
- 1:28:28Speaker 3: you have the best uniques in this game, right, absolutely,
- 1:28:31Speaker 3: And so it'll be interesting to see, like as the
- 1:28:33Speaker 3: new set comes out in January and further out down
- 1:28:37Speaker 3: the road, to see if that balance shifts to if
- 1:28:41Speaker 3: another color will get that you know, crazy, because we
- 1:28:45Speaker 3: know how you like the well we somewhat know how
- 1:28:47Speaker 3: uniques are driven, so like all that takes is so
- 1:28:53Speaker 3: every color has something that a unique can get that
- 1:28:56Speaker 3: is literally not on a card. I'm like this every
- 1:28:59Speaker 3: time to play a thing spawn a guy. But on
- 1:29:03Speaker 3: top of that, if it exists in your card pool,
- 1:29:06Speaker 3: if you have access to it, even if it came
- 1:29:08Speaker 3: from out affection, it can be put on a unique.
- 1:29:12Speaker 3: So in this game is song. As you get a
- 1:29:15Speaker 3: cool effect on any card given to you, your potential
- 1:29:20Speaker 3: to have great uniques drastically changes. So like when we
- 1:29:24Speaker 3: were talking about Trace not really having like a home
- 1:29:26Speaker 3: run hitter or all of lera uniques, Like what am
- 1:29:30Speaker 3: I actually trying to get on a unique here? Being
- 1:29:32Speaker 3: a question mark? All you need is like one good
- 1:29:36Speaker 3: effect on anything. It can be a landmark, it can
- 1:29:39Speaker 3: be a spell, it can be a character. If it
- 1:29:41Speaker 3: hits a printed card, the algorithm can pull it onto
- 1:29:45Speaker 3: a unique character. So that is what I would like
- 1:29:49Speaker 3: to see. These things that just don't have those home
- 1:29:52Speaker 3: runs right now, give them some home run cards so
- 1:29:56Speaker 3: that they can also get them on the unique side.
- 1:30:00Speaker 1: Have some new like pool polls for some of these
- 1:30:04Speaker 1: unique for the abilities to go back into yeah.
- 1:30:09Speaker 4: Ye, also so they can exist.
- 1:30:14Speaker 3: My question is like how dim dynamic like would the
- 1:30:17Speaker 3: company be about printing in their algorithms. So like, like
- 1:30:22Speaker 3: let's say, right now, I can never remember the name
- 1:30:27Speaker 3: of the next set, but whatever trial ice trialed by Frost,
- 1:30:32Speaker 3: so something about ice comes out, right, We just gave
- 1:30:39Speaker 3: you the name, and you're, yes, yes, I think it's
- 1:30:43Speaker 3: I think it's a song of fired ice.
- 1:30:45Speaker 1: Or something like that.
- 1:30:45Speaker 3: Right's familiar, Like, well, we have fire dog, and maybe
- 1:30:49Speaker 3: this whole set could be called ice monkeys. Who cares.
- 1:30:52Speaker 4: If you're gonna have a fire dog, you gotta have
- 1:30:54Speaker 4: an ice cats.
- 1:30:55Speaker 2: Okay, ice cats, and the picture will very clearly be.
- 1:31:01Speaker 3: A dog. Yeah yeah, Okay, We're call.
- 1:31:05Speaker 4: It a cap because that's what we need.
- 1:31:06Speaker 1: It to be.
- 1:31:09Speaker 3: And they get a really cool ability on any card.
- 1:31:13Speaker 3: Then if the company prints any set, would those uniques
- 1:31:18Speaker 3: potentially pull to the uniques and the other ones because
- 1:31:21Speaker 3: they have the power to do that, and it would
- 1:31:24Speaker 3: make their reverse product more viable where every other company
- 1:31:29Speaker 3: in the world could never do that.
- 1:31:31Speaker 4: Ah, But wouldn't that just give Blue the ability to
- 1:31:34Speaker 4: make more one on one canuts.
- 1:31:39Speaker 3: What I'm saying is that that effect exists in their cardpools.
- 1:31:42Speaker 3: It's never going away, like I think, I don't think so,
- 1:31:46Speaker 3: like unless I mean, they can control all of that,
- 1:31:49Speaker 3: But I assume we're still going to be able to
- 1:31:52Speaker 3: see that effect on new Blue characters in ice Cats see.
- 1:31:57Speaker 2: I wonder though, if if that's not the case in
- 1:32:00Speaker 2: my head, I wonder if the the uniques that are
- 1:32:04Speaker 2: printed with each set, because eventually they're gonna stop printing
- 1:32:07Speaker 2: beyond the gates right like they'll it'll hit whatever their
- 1:32:10Speaker 2: saturation is. If it's not there already, all the product
- 1:32:14Speaker 2: will be out there. If you're gonna get it, You're
- 1:32:16Speaker 2: gonna get it whatever. I to always have every unique
- 1:32:23Speaker 2: ability that was in the algorithmic pool for the first
- 1:32:27Speaker 2: set be in every set going forward. I feel like
- 1:32:30Speaker 2: you eventually hit the point of dilution where like nothing works.
- 1:32:35Speaker 2: So I wonder if each set will have its.
- 1:32:36Speaker 3: Own Yeah, I guess it would just get so rare
- 1:32:38Speaker 3: you would never see.
- 1:32:39Speaker 1: Some Yeah, like.
- 1:32:42Speaker 2: With each set, you want the cool new things that
- 1:32:45Speaker 2: that set brings to the table to show up on
- 1:32:47Speaker 2: the uniques for that set, right, Like with that that would.
- 1:32:50Speaker 3: Be an interesting AMA thing, Like I don't know if
- 1:32:53Speaker 3: that's been an asset I call would know cold tracks everything.
- 1:32:55Speaker 3: But like, like as anyone asked them, like, are uniques
- 1:33:00Speaker 3: going to be isolated to the set as far as
- 1:33:03Speaker 3: the traits go? Because we like, like we just said,
- 1:33:05Speaker 3: we know how uniques are generally generated. We've done a
- 1:33:08Speaker 3: lot of live research on this, like it has to
- 1:33:11Speaker 3: be pulled from a card or each faction does have
- 1:33:17Speaker 3: a weird conditional like if this thing happens, then do this,
- 1:33:22Speaker 3: Like we just we went over ortises today. When another
- 1:33:25Speaker 3: non token character joined your expedition created creat a recruit,
- 1:33:28Speaker 3: Ortis gets that it is not on a card that
- 1:33:31Speaker 3: they have, They just magically materialize it on their uniques.
- 1:33:35Speaker 3: We went over the red one a couple of weeks ago,
- 1:33:38Speaker 3: where it is if I get a boost draw card, right, Like,
- 1:33:41Speaker 3: these don't exist in their card pool, but they exist
- 1:33:45Speaker 3: only on the unique. So, like, if you're saying like
- 1:33:47Speaker 3: that is a question I would be interested in ask
- 1:33:49Speaker 3: when us like are those things going to move forward
- 1:33:54Speaker 3: or are they going to be different each expansion.
- 1:33:57Speaker 2: That makes me wonder if because like we know that
- 1:34:00Speaker 2: they made some changes to the set before it ever
- 1:34:02Speaker 2: got in front of us, right, I wonder if there
- 1:34:05Speaker 2: was a card that had that effect on it and
- 1:34:07Speaker 2: the effect was allowed to continue living in the algorithm
- 1:34:09Speaker 2: even if like the card got pulled or moved or whatever.
- 1:34:12Speaker 3: I would be on board with believing that if every
- 1:34:15Speaker 3: house or every faction did not have one or actually,
- 1:34:21Speaker 3: like I think there's two, every faction didn't have like
- 1:34:24Speaker 3: two of these things and they're written in a very
- 1:34:28Speaker 3: similar fashion.
- 1:34:31Speaker 4: Cole might know the answer to all of this, probably,
- 1:34:35Speaker 4: which is a weird story, so get it.
- 1:34:38Speaker 2: Oh speaking, Oh that's Sarah is saying that the Ortis
- 1:34:41Speaker 2: and Bravos abilities that aren't on cards did exist on
- 1:34:45Speaker 2: cards at one point. I wonder if he means, uh
- 1:34:49Speaker 2: play testing, Yeah, like if they kept play testing ability text? Yeah, yeah,
- 1:34:58Speaker 2: that's see that's wild though, If text from the early
- 1:35:01Speaker 2: part of this play test can can continue to exist
- 1:35:04Speaker 2: in the out.
- 1:35:05Speaker 3: That I wouldn't have wanted to know because in my opinion,
- 1:35:07Speaker 3: if that's true, like that's a that's a fail. I
- 1:35:12Speaker 3: don't know.
- 1:35:13Speaker 2: Well, they could have decided that the text was too
- 1:35:15Speaker 2: good to be printed on a common right.
- 1:35:18Speaker 3: A standard card, but just leave it there for a flavor.
- 1:35:21Speaker 2: Like yeah, yeah, yeah, the text itself was okay if
- 1:35:25Speaker 2: you're looking at the power level of like theoretical what
- 1:35:30Speaker 2: a unique is valued at? Right, Like also like the
- 1:35:34Speaker 2: the the percentage chance that you're going to get three
- 1:35:38Speaker 2: exact copies of one of those abilities as much lower,
- 1:35:42Speaker 2: even though like, yes, you can throw a wallet at
- 1:35:44Speaker 2: it and solve that problem.
- 1:35:46Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, percentage this doesn't matter. We just start about
- 1:35:49Speaker 3: like youoard, like, if it can happen, it will happen
- 1:35:53Speaker 3: at the highest table period. You don't have to debate it.
- 1:35:56Speaker 4: It's going to all right.
- 1:35:59Speaker 3: But uh yeah, those would be interesting questions we could
- 1:36:02Speaker 3: I'm sure calls will listen to this and yeah he
- 1:36:04Speaker 3: was actually in here right now, but SA spam our
- 1:36:08Speaker 3: thing and uh, at some point be like this is
- 1:36:11Speaker 3: the answer to this, this this this, this is this,
- 1:36:13Speaker 3: but anyway, I think it's time to wrap. It's time
- 1:36:19Speaker 3: before Tole actually jumps in here.
- 1:36:21Speaker 4: Yeah, and then you have to bring it in here.
- 1:36:23Speaker 1: He isn't the audience though, Yeah, I know.
- 1:36:25Speaker 4: And that's where we will go over all of this
- 1:36:28Speaker 4: next week, right, so make sure you come back next week.
- 1:36:32Speaker 4: Make sure you go over to the patreon for the
- 1:36:34Speaker 4: win a box and some holiday deals from the patreon.
- 1:36:38Speaker 4: Right now, so to be.
- 1:36:39Speaker 3: Clear about that, there are two people in my event
- 1:36:42Speaker 3: to win a box there will get a full retail box.
- 1:36:45Speaker 3: Whoever wins the event right now, it is Wookie and.
- 1:36:47Speaker 2: Cole wait Cat members are eligible.
- 1:36:51Speaker 3: Why not they enjoyed it's those two. I haven't like
- 1:36:56Speaker 3: publicized the nuance of the event, but there will be
- 1:36:59Speaker 3: like some thing about the events. So it might be
- 1:37:01Speaker 3: comings only, but we've already done that, so it'll be
- 1:37:04Speaker 3: something fun so that, you know, just the same old
- 1:37:07Speaker 3: people aren't always winning, so it'll be a little bit
- 1:37:08Speaker 3: different than normal. But if you want a chance out
- 1:37:11Speaker 3: of like probably less than ten people to win a box,
- 1:37:14Speaker 3: join the Patreon. I can't remember if it's set to
- 1:37:17Speaker 3: three or five dollars a month. I think it's only
- 1:37:19Speaker 3: three three bucks a month. Become a Patreon. There's a
- 1:37:23Speaker 3: couple resources there that only you have access to. We

- 1:37:33Speaker 3: be the next one. So that'll be there. It'll be
- 1:37:35Speaker 3: for the patreons only, and from now until January.
- 1:37:40Speaker 4: I don't know.
