- 0:00Speaker 1: Now, Ron Verb on News Radio 570 WKBN.
- 0:05Speaker 2: All right, testing one, two, three. I think everything is
- 0:08Speaker 2: working here. Good afternoon. Welcome to Wednesday.
- 0:10Speaker 1: It's already August 26th. We're sitting with 81 degrees. A
- 0:13Speaker 1: comfortable Wednesday afternoon wherever you are, whatever you might be doing.
- 0:17Speaker 1: Hope life is treating you well. And all is well
- 0:20Speaker 1: with you here this afternoon. If you want to conversate,
- 0:23Speaker 1: what is our top secret number?
- 0:25Speaker 3: Well, it's 330-729-9977.
- 0:25Speaker 2: 330-729-9977 will get you through to us here on NewsRadio 570.
- 0:27Speaker 4: 330-729-9977.
- 0:27Speaker 2: If you want to pick up the phone and give
- 0:28Speaker 2: us a call, you're on the air.
- 0:43Speaker 3: Ron, good afternoon, sir. How are you today?
- 0:45Speaker 2: It's Rich, the pharmacist. So far, Rich, I'm doing okay.
- 0:49Speaker 2: I can't complain.
- 0:52Speaker 3: Well, unfortunately, I couldn't listen to you live, so I
- 0:55Speaker 3: listened to the podcast this morning, and a couple thoughts
- 1:00Speaker 3: came to my mind that I'd like to expound upon
- 1:03Speaker 3: if I can.
- 1:03Speaker 2: Yes, sir.
- 1:05Speaker 3: Number one, everybody that calls your program has a nickname,
- 1:09Speaker 3: but you know who doesn't? The option stock guy. I
- 1:15Speaker 3: don't know what the hell... I have no idea what
- 1:16Speaker 3: to call the guy.
- 1:19Speaker 2: Yes, I do. I tell you what, I would.
- 1:22Speaker 1: You know what? I think you should... I won't use
- 1:24Speaker 1: his nickname, but I think you should call him Millionaire.
- 1:27Speaker 2: But that's... Mr.
- 1:28Speaker 3: Big or something.
- 1:30Speaker 2: Yeah, you know what I mean? That's... So, what about him?
- 1:34Speaker 5: But.
- 1:34Speaker 1: Here's a guy, though, that's– he's just– that guy is just–
- 1:38Speaker 1: I've talked to him for so many years, and you
- 1:41Speaker 1: get an impression of a person. I just think he's
- 1:44Speaker 1: a really nice– he's just a nice, decent guy, and
- 1:47Speaker 1: he's just an interesting guy. And he's– since he retired,
- 1:51Speaker 1: he's spent a lot of time making a lot of
- 1:53Speaker 1: money in the market. So he's a really smart guy.
- 1:55Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:57Speaker 1: You know, when I listen to him talk or Fort
- 2:00Speaker 1: Lauderdale Frank talk, these guys are at a whole other
- 2:02Speaker 1: level than the average investor stock guy.
- 2:08Speaker 3: Mr. Big, I would say yes. Frank, I would totally
- 2:11Speaker 3: disagree with you on personally, but I won't get into that.
- 2:15Speaker 3: But the guy that does the options trading, I think
- 2:19Speaker 3: he's not an investor. I mean, what he's doing is really–
- 2:23Speaker 3: educated gambling. He's almost like the guys that do blackjack
- 2:27Speaker 3: and poker and know how to count the cards and
- 2:29Speaker 3: do it, and they're banned from the casinos because they
- 2:32Speaker 3: can win more than they lose.
- 2:33Speaker 2: But the key is it's educated. It's very educated, what
- 2:36Speaker 2: he does.
- 2:37Speaker 3: Yes, yes. I mean, he knows exactly what he's doing,
- 2:40Speaker 3: and I mean, he'll admit. I think he has admitted
- 2:42Speaker 3: on your program. There have been times he's gotten burned
- 2:44Speaker 3: and he's lost a substantial amount of money, but he's
- 2:47Speaker 3: smart enough to get it back. But, you know, he's
- 2:50Speaker 3: not the average person, including myself. I wouldn't even attempt
- 2:56Speaker 3: to do what he's doing because I don't have the
- 2:58Speaker 3: knowledge of that subject area that he has. I mean,
- 3:02Speaker 3: he can do it because he knows what he's doing most.
- 3:04Speaker 3: I would say 99.8% of the people out there listening
- 3:08Speaker 3: to you have no idea what he's talking about and
- 3:11Speaker 3: would get slaughtered if they tried doing what he's doing. Agreed.
- 3:14Speaker 2: I totally agree.
- 3:18Speaker 3: And I like him. I think he's a great caller.
- 3:19Speaker 3: But there's only one thing. He always quotes Tucker Carlson.
- 3:24Speaker 3: And it got me thinking about, you know, I think
- 3:26Speaker 3: the Internet is probably the greatest invention in our lifetime.
- 3:30Speaker 3: It's probably one of the greatest inventions as far as
- 3:32Speaker 3: dissemination of information in human history since the printing press
- 3:36Speaker 3: was invented. But that said, it comes with a lot of.
- 3:43Speaker 3: Caveats that are dangerous. And I think one of the
- 3:47Speaker 3: biggest things is there's so many people that use the
- 3:52Speaker 3: internet for self-promotion. And the man that he really enjoys
- 3:58Speaker 3: listening to, listens to his podcast every night is Tucker Carlson,
- 4:01Speaker 3: who I think is one of the biggest frauds out there,
- 4:04Speaker 3: to be honest with you.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Well, now pause for a second, because I will say
- 4:08Speaker 1: this as you will continue on here. I just want
- 4:11Speaker 1: you to know this. I totally and completely disagree with that.
- 4:15Speaker 1: And just because I think Tucker is free to be Tucker.
- 4:20Speaker 2: Let's make no mistake. I don't think Tucker needs the money.
- 4:22Speaker 1: When you say, oh, it's all about making money and
- 4:25Speaker 1: all this kind of stuff. Fox had to pay him
- 4:28Speaker 1: huge money when they parted ways because of his contract.
- 4:33Speaker 1: He could literally sit and do absolutely nothing. But he's
- 4:36Speaker 1: free now to do exactly what he wants to do
- 4:38Speaker 1: and say what he wants to say without any corporate ramifications.
- 4:41Speaker 1: I thought Tucker Carlson was smart when he was on
- 4:43Speaker 1: Fox News. I think he's smart today. I don't think
- 4:47Speaker 1: he's doing it for clicks. And some of the broadcasts
- 4:52Speaker 1: that he puts out there, some of the interviews he
- 4:54Speaker 1: does are excellent, excellent interviews by a lot of different
- 5:00Speaker 1: people and backgrounds. So I'm just saying, I don't agree
- 5:03Speaker 1: with what you're about to say, but go ahead.
- 5:06Speaker 3: And say it. I don't agree with you. I think
- 5:08Speaker 3: there are interviews he does that are excellent, but that
- 5:10Speaker 3: doesn't mean that a lot of the interviews or a
- 5:14Speaker 3: lot of the stuff that the people are saying or
- 5:15Speaker 3: that he is saying is factual. Because I think he's
- 5:19Speaker 3: a big purveyor of conspiracy theory stuff.
- 5:23Speaker 1: Well, OK, but the people that today's conspiracy theory, everything
- 5:28Speaker 1: was a conspiracy theory till it's true. It was a
- 5:31Speaker 1: conspiracy theory about the lab leak with COVID. OK, let
- 5:34Speaker 1: me give you a conspiracy theory, the replacement theory.
- 5:36Speaker 2: Oh, it's BS. It's a bunch of conspiracy theory. Well, no,
- 5:39Speaker 2: it wasn't.
- 5:40Speaker 1: Everything that you're critical of, somebody wants to say it's
- 5:43Speaker 1: a conspiracy theory. There's plenty of people that think that
- 5:46Speaker 1: there was more to September 11th. and meets the eye
- 5:49Speaker 1: in Building 7, and it just doesn't make sense to them.
- 5:53Speaker 1: Is it a conspiracy theory, or do they see something.
- 5:56Speaker 2: That we don't?
- 5:57Speaker 1: Because a lot of stuff is covered up. Was Oswald
- 6:01Speaker 1: the only killer when it came to John Kennedy? I mean,
- 6:03Speaker 1: I've just seen the conspiracy.
- 6:06Speaker 3: In my opinion, yes. I've looked at that extensively, but
- 6:10Speaker 3: there's no evidence that doesn't suggest that. And I think
- 6:16Speaker 3: it was probably about 10 years ago, CBS News actually
- 6:19Speaker 3: did a recreation of Dallas. And basically after everything, and
- 6:25Speaker 3: it's skeptical. I mean, you know, that single bullet theory
- 6:28Speaker 3: with Kennedy, yes, I completely understand how you can be
- 6:31Speaker 3: skeptical of it. But when they recreated the scene, they
- 6:34Speaker 3: pretty much came up with the same scenario, the same results.
- 6:41Speaker 3: Everybody forgets Oswald was trained by the Marines. The Marines
- 6:44Speaker 3: teach you how to shoot pretty good.
- 6:45Speaker 1: I mean, you can accept it. Many people don't and
- 6:47Speaker 1: say there's more to this. And was the government involved
- 6:52Speaker 1: in it because of Kennedy? Who knows?
- 6:57Speaker 3: You and I are old enough to remember when you
- 6:59Speaker 3: went to the grocery store and when you were looking
- 7:01Speaker 3: at the magazines, the one that was always there was
- 7:05Speaker 3: Once in a while, it would have something truthful, but
- 7:07Speaker 3: you knew that about 90% of what it was spewing
- 7:09Speaker 3: was garbage with the National Enquirer.
- 7:11Speaker 2: Once in a while, they'd come up.
- 7:13Speaker 3: With something that was truthful, and I think Tucker's a
- 7:15Speaker 3: lot like that. There's some things that he spouts out
- 7:18Speaker 3: that are truthful, but I think probably 75% to 80%
- 7:21Speaker 3: of what he's spouting out is pure garbage.
- 7:23Speaker 1: Well, I would say watch it, listen to his monologues
- 7:28Speaker 1: on a more regular basis, and I think you'll find
- 7:30Speaker 1: that I think he's a smart guy, deep thinker. And
- 7:35Speaker 1: I don't disagree with a lot of what he says.
- 7:38Speaker 1: I don't necessarily... Trust the government on everything either. I mean,
- 7:43Speaker 1: I'm suspicious of everything. I mean, I've been lied to
- 7:45Speaker 1: over the years about Agent Orange in a cover up there.
- 7:48Speaker 1: You saw it happen during the Vietnam time where it
- 7:51Speaker 1: was just until they couldn't cover it up anymore. Fauci,
- 7:56Speaker 1: this whole COVID thing was a gigantic cover up of
- 7:59Speaker 1: everything and no one's being held accountable.
- 8:01Speaker 2: Well, take a look.
- 8:01Speaker 1: The Russian collusion thing under Trump's first term, no one's
- 8:05Speaker 1: held accountable. It was all BS, orchestrated by all these
- 8:09Speaker 1: government people. Oh, the 50 intelligence people that said Tucker's
- 8:12Speaker 1: laptop was.
- 8:14Speaker 2: Russian propaganda, all BS. Think of all of the stuff the.
- 8:18Speaker 1: Government told you that was absolutely false, that wasn't true
- 8:23Speaker 1: at all. The border was secure under Biden. I mean,
- 8:25Speaker 1: you just mull all of that over and then... Do
- 8:29Speaker 1: you say to yourself.
- 8:30Speaker 3: Well, everybody knew the border wasn't... They were saying the
- 8:32Speaker 3: border was secure, but I mean, your eyes don't lie.
- 8:38Speaker 3: People could look around and see that they were lying
- 8:40Speaker 3: about that. Even with Fauci, I mean, as much as
- 8:43Speaker 3: I can't stand him, I call him fraud-gy, by the way,
- 8:45Speaker 3: because that's what he is. He's a total fraud. But
- 8:48Speaker 3: a lot of... Looking back at COVID, what I get
- 8:51Speaker 3: most angry about is they told us things... They presented
- 8:56Speaker 3: things as facts that were... in all honesty, opinions or conjecture.
- 9:05Speaker 3: You know, when they said you're going to get the jab,
- 9:07Speaker 3: that's all you're going to be done. Well, they didn't
- 9:09Speaker 3: realize those mRNA vaccines last about four months, and then
- 9:13Speaker 3: after that, your immunity is in the toilet. You know,
- 9:18Speaker 3: they thought it would last longer because they didn't really
- 9:20Speaker 3: have the evidence. I mean, if you look at that
- 9:23Speaker 3: operational warp speed, how fast that brought that vaccine on,
- 9:26Speaker 3: They didn't have any clinical data to really go on.
- 9:29Speaker 3: They just figured once you get the vaccine, it's going
- 9:31Speaker 3: to be like most vaccines. You'll have some immunity that
- 9:33Speaker 3: lasts long. But it didn't. We were given those vaccines in,
- 9:38Speaker 3: what was it? I think January of 21 is when
- 9:40Speaker 3: we started giving them. And you started doing the first
- 9:43Speaker 3: boosters in May of 21. So you were getting four
- 9:45Speaker 3: months out of it, and you were needing a booster already.
- 9:48Speaker 3: And that was after the initial two-shot series. But they
- 9:51Speaker 3: presented it like, oh, if you get it, you're going
- 9:53Speaker 3: to protect grandma. Well, no vaccine protects grandma realistically other than,
- 9:58Speaker 3: you know, getting in. herd immunity and things like that.
- 10:01Speaker 3: But you can still be vaccinated and be a carrier. So,
- 10:05Speaker 3: I mean, there were a lot of things that were
- 10:06Speaker 3: just misrepresentations that I think they were trying. And I
- 10:10Speaker 3: don't know. I mean, the whole origin theory, I mean,
- 10:15Speaker 3: I think they knew darn well it came out of
- 10:17Speaker 3: that Wuhan lab. And I don't know what their theory
- 10:21Speaker 3: was for not giving that credence and saying, yeah, I
- 10:26Speaker 3: think it's a possibility and totally shooting it down, other
- 10:29Speaker 3: than Trump was one of the first ones to parrot that.
- 10:32Speaker 3: And with Donald Trump, anything he says has got to
- 10:35Speaker 3: be shut down. He's just so reviled.
- 10:38Speaker 1: Listen, I don't have a problem with– I just think
- 10:42Speaker 1: a lot of people just dismiss everything as– everybody's entitled
- 10:46Speaker 1: to an opinion. I like there being a lot of platforms.
- 10:50Speaker 1: People can listen to whatever they want to listen to
- 10:52Speaker 1: or watch whatever they want to watch, and they can
- 10:54Speaker 1: determine for themselves whether– It's fact or fiction. I think
- 10:58Speaker 1: the lack of credibility that the government has has been
- 11:01Speaker 1: brought on by the government itself because people have been–
- 11:04Speaker 1: I mean from the Epstein situation, double standard of justice
- 11:07Speaker 1: to just a lot of the shenanigans that we've watched
- 11:13Speaker 1: take place. People are suspicious and I– probably more so
- 11:16Speaker 1: than ever and they have every right to be.
- 11:18Speaker 2: Every right to be.
- 11:20Speaker 3: And now you're seeing it with the data centers. All
- 11:24Speaker 3: the people that are against the data centers. And I
- 11:26Speaker 3: understand if you're against it because your electric bill is
- 11:29Speaker 3: going up. And that's an issue that needs to be
- 11:32Speaker 3: dealt with. They need to be told they need to
- 11:33Speaker 3: produce their own power so that the rest of the
- 11:36Speaker 3: country isn't paying to subsidize these data centers via their
- 11:39Speaker 3: electric bill every month. But a lot of, I think,
- 11:42Speaker 3: the data center stuff, they're starting to trace it back
- 11:45Speaker 3: and find out that it's China, Russia, and our competitors
- 11:48Speaker 3: that are ginning up this anti-data center stuff so that
- 11:53Speaker 3: they can interfere with our development of AI, which benefits them.
- 11:59Speaker 3: What bothers me, though, is just that there's so much
- 12:02Speaker 3: misinformation out there. I mean, the Internet is a great tool,
- 12:06Speaker 3: but you have to be very discerning in what you
- 12:08Speaker 3: read and who you believe. You know, a lot of
- 12:13Speaker 3: times you've parroted some of the stuff about the whole biolabs.
- 12:17Speaker 3: Do I think there were biolabs in Ukraine? Yeah, there
- 12:19Speaker 3: probably were.
- 12:20Speaker 2: There was a bunch of them.
- 12:21Speaker 3: They've established that there were.
- 12:23Speaker 2: And they lied to you about that?
- 12:24Speaker 3: Do I believe for a second that that's the reason
- 12:26Speaker 3: Putin invaded? Not a chance. Not a chance at all.
- 12:30Speaker 3: Putin invaded Ukraine because Putin wanted to reinvent. He wants
- 12:33Speaker 3: to reinvent the Soviet Union. He always has. He may
- 12:37Speaker 3: use that as part of his excuse.
- 12:39Speaker 1: You believe that? And I don't believe that. I believe
- 12:42Speaker 1: this whole war situation could have been avoided. I go
- 12:45Speaker 1: back to say Putin was concerned about the biolapse. Putin
- 12:48Speaker 1: was concerned about the slaughter of the Russian-speaking people in
- 12:51Speaker 1: the Donbass region. And that's what he wanted. He wanted
- 12:55Speaker 1: those things dealt with, and they were not dealt with.
- 12:59Speaker 1: To a certain extent, I think the lack of diplomacy
- 13:02Speaker 1: during the Biden administration... led to this conflict in Ukraine.
- 13:06Speaker 1: I think there's an agenda there by some of these
- 13:08Speaker 1: people that want this kind of stuff to happen, just
- 13:12Speaker 1: like there might very well be an agenda with this
- 13:14Speaker 1: situation going on in Iran. And some of this stuff
- 13:17Speaker 1: doesn't make a lick of sense to me at all.
- 13:21Speaker 3: Well, there again, though, I mean, do I think Israel
- 13:24Speaker 3: tried to influence us to hit Iran? Yeah, I don't
- 13:27Speaker 3: doubt that for a minute. But, I mean, the people
- 13:30Speaker 3: that are blaming the Zionist conspiracy stuff, and I know
- 13:34Speaker 3: a lot of people that pair with that, I just
- 13:36Speaker 3: don't buy that. I mean, every country, every society is
- 13:40Speaker 3: trying to influence us to support their view of what
- 13:44Speaker 3: they want.
- 13:44Speaker 1: Yeah, but see, their argument is this is a foreign
- 13:46Speaker 1: country that contributes huge money.
- 13:49Speaker 2: Basically, here's their argument.
- 13:50Speaker 1: It's a foreign country that has huge money that is
- 13:53Speaker 1: given to just about everybody, Republican and Democrats in Congress.
- 13:57Speaker 1: They spent a great deal of money to get rid
- 13:58Speaker 1: of Thomas Massey. Why were they so interested in him
- 14:03Speaker 1: and the influence that they have there? There's always talking
- 14:09Speaker 1: about Epstein and his association with Mossad or the intelligence
- 14:13Speaker 1: community who has all of that information. I mean, so
- 14:17Speaker 1: is everything.
- 14:21Speaker 1: Do people have the right to say we should be
- 14:25Speaker 1: worried about America's interest first and not some foreign country?
- 14:28Speaker 1: I don't care what country it is, including giving them
- 14:31Speaker 1: access to our military, as was recently done on a vote.
- 14:37Speaker 1: I mean, some of this stuff is a little ridiculous
- 14:39Speaker 1: that's going on.
- 14:42Speaker 2: So it's certainly worth having a debate over.
- 14:45Speaker 3: And listening yesterday, though, and the reason this sort of
- 14:49Speaker 3: struck me is because when G2 got on, you could
- 14:53Speaker 3: tell he was really frustrated. And there's a lot of
- 14:56Speaker 3: times I disagree with some of the stuff G2 says,
- 14:58Speaker 3: but what he said yesterday was dead spot on, in
- 15:00Speaker 3: my opinion. We're letting ourselves get so distracted because gas
- 15:05Speaker 3: has gone from, you know, a barrel of oil was, what,
- 15:08Speaker 3: $ 65 before the war? It's $ 80 now. So roughly about probably, what,
- 15:12Speaker 3: a 25%, 30% increase. And we're letting that so blind
- 15:17Speaker 3: us to what else is going on in the world
- 15:19Speaker 3: that we're willing to, this November, hand control back to
- 15:24Speaker 3: the Democrats. We're going to just basically vote for anybody
- 15:27Speaker 3: but who's in charge right now.
- 15:28Speaker 2: I don't know. And I think people forget how bad
- 15:31Speaker 2: it was.
- 15:33Speaker 1: Listen, I'm the first guy, as you know, that I'm
- 15:35Speaker 1: told this whole war situation, I think, is a big mistake.
- 15:38Speaker 1: And getting out of this is going to be a
- 15:40Speaker 1: bigger problem than I think most people realize. And I
- 15:44Speaker 1: think there's fair cause for criticism.
- 15:46Speaker 2: Now, does that mean I would vote for Sherrod Brown?
- 15:48Speaker 2: Absolutely not. I absolutely would.
- 15:50Speaker 1: Not vote for Sherrod Brown or a congressional candidate that's
- 15:55Speaker 1: a Democrat. But I also know Carville said it's economy
- 15:59Speaker 1: stupid in a There's a lot of truth to that
- 16:01Speaker 1: when people say, hey, their life is kind of sucking
- 16:03Speaker 1: right now because of this stuff. And that's why they
- 16:07Speaker 1: voted for Trump. Sometimes people say, then I want to
- 16:09Speaker 1: try someone else. I want to try a different change.
- 16:13Speaker 1: I mean, take a look. Take a look at your
- 16:14Speaker 1: own kids that said they're not going to vote for
- 16:17Speaker 1: this guy based on economics.
- 16:20Speaker 2: So, I mean, your own family's got it.
- 16:21Speaker 3: When I get into this conspiracy stuff, I argue this
- 16:24Speaker 3: with my kids and my wife as well because they
- 16:26Speaker 3: get down some of these rabbit holes.
- 16:29Speaker 1: And usually who's right between you and your wife? Do
- 16:32Speaker 1: I need to remind you?
- 16:34Speaker 3: Well, on COVID, both our wives are right. You and
- 16:37Speaker 3: I were both.
- 16:38Speaker 2: Wrong on that.
- 16:38Speaker 1: Yeah, but I'm just trying to remind you, when she
- 16:42Speaker 1: says she goes down those rabbit holes, she's been more
- 16:44Speaker 1: right than wrong.
- 16:47Speaker 2: All right, I've got to pause.
- 16:49Speaker 1: All right, so you don't like Tucker, and I got it.
- 16:54Speaker 3: I think a lot of what he says is fraudulent.
- 16:56Speaker 1: All right, Rich, thank you. Back after this, Guardians will
- 16:59Speaker 1: be coming up. Ron Furbin.
- 17:04Speaker 2: Radio 570 WKBN. It's going to be a short broadcast today.
- 17:08Speaker 2: You want to know why? Is today Wednesday?
- 17:12Speaker 3: Yes.
- 17:14Speaker 1: That means the Guardians are going to have a pregame
- 17:17Speaker 1: show like about 335 or so.
- 17:18Speaker 2: You're on the air.
- 17:21Speaker 7: Hey, Ron, you going to hang up on me again?
- 17:22Speaker 2: I don't know. Probably not.
- 17:26Speaker 7: You hung up on me yesterday.
- 17:27Speaker 2: I don't remember hanging up on you yesterday.
- 17:30Speaker 7: It was like 525. He said, hurry up. And I said, well,
- 17:33Speaker 7: I'm going to make this quick. And then I heard click.
- 17:35Speaker 2: Well, I didn't hang up on you. Somehow we got disconnected.
- 17:39Speaker 7: Well, listen, you know, I'm still ahead of you when
- 17:42Speaker 7: it comes to hanging up on each other.
- 17:43Speaker 1: And that breaks every rule in talk radio. Only the
- 17:46Speaker 1: host does the hanging up.
- 17:48Speaker 7: Well, you know, I'm a rule breaker, Ron. You know that.
- 17:52Speaker 2: Come on. I know, but you've got to change that.
- 17:53Speaker 2: That's not right.
- 17:55Speaker 7: No, it ain't broken. I ain't going to fix it.
- 17:57Speaker 7: But what I'm going to tell you about this, right?
- 18:00Speaker 7: I am really, really, really, really upset. You know, I'm
- 18:04Speaker 7: really upset, you know, because our president has grown, has
- 18:09Speaker 7: gone back, you know, went crazy. You know what this
- 18:12Speaker 7: man is doing?
- 18:13Speaker 2: What's he doing?
- 18:15Speaker 7: He filed a brief to the Supreme Court telling them
- 18:22Speaker 7: if they don't let him put his name on the
- 18:24Speaker 7: Kennedy Center.
- 18:25Speaker 8: He's.
- 18:27Speaker 7: Going to build a They call it, like, Plum Plaza
- 18:32Speaker 7: or something like that. And now we're building a new ship, right?
- 18:38Speaker 7: I think it's an aircraft carrier. And it's going to
- 18:41Speaker 7: be named— it was supposed to be named after a sailor
- 18:44Speaker 7: who was a hero, a black sailor at that. I
- 18:46Speaker 7: think it was going to be the first ship named
- 18:48Speaker 7: after a black man, right? He's changing the name to
- 18:53Speaker 7: name the boat Trump. Why is it that all he's
- 18:58Speaker 7: trying to do is try to make his legacy better?
- 19:01Speaker 7: Why don't he just be the president and help us now?
- 19:03Speaker 7: Forget his legacy. He needs to help us.
- 19:07Speaker 1: Are you sitting down? I totally agree with you. I've
- 19:11Speaker 1: done programs saying... It's the Kennedy Center. Get your name
- 19:14Speaker 1: off the Kennedy Center. And then the people that are
- 19:16Speaker 1: on that board that he appointed all wanted to put
- 19:18Speaker 1: his name on it. A lot of times, these are
- 19:21Speaker 1: people that are just kissing his arse that he puts
- 19:24Speaker 1: in these things that are stroking his ego and want
- 19:26Speaker 1: to put his name on everything. I totally agree with you.
- 19:29Speaker 1: I'm in complete agreement. Stop this craziness of wanting your
- 19:33Speaker 1: name on everything.
- 19:34Speaker 2: It's bizarre.
- 19:35Speaker 1: Even like I said to you, I like that he
- 19:38Speaker 1: has cabinet meetings. I like the transparency. I like the
- 19:41Speaker 1: fact that they're on TV. But the reality is when
- 19:44Speaker 1: you watch them, it's disturbing to me the ass kissing
- 19:48Speaker 1: that goes on on those cabinet meetings. It's like, does
- 19:52Speaker 1: anybody really just say it like it is to have
- 19:55Speaker 1: a frank discussion with this guy?
- 19:58Speaker 2: Or is everybody operating in fear of him?
- 20:01Speaker 7: Well, he's a fascist, and everybody's scared of him. If
- 20:03Speaker 7: he don't get his way, if you write something bad
- 20:06Speaker 7: about him, he'll make sure you get fired.
- 20:09Speaker 2: Explain this to me. Explain this to me.
- 20:12Speaker 1: How about his former lawyer, Cohen, that said all those
- 20:15Speaker 1: nasty things about him, and then Cohen has kind of
- 20:18Speaker 1: recanted a lot of that stuff, I guess, and him
- 20:24Speaker 1: and Trump have reconciled.
- 20:25Speaker 2: Or reconciled, I should say.
- 20:31Speaker 1: Go ahead.
- 20:32Speaker 7: Okay, well, what I'm saying is this, right? You started off,
- 20:35Speaker 7: and no disrespect to the people that you have the
- 20:38Speaker 7: show with, but when you start off saying a person's
- 20:40Speaker 7: a lawyer, anything's liable to happen. But what I'm trying
- 20:44Speaker 7: to tell.
- 20:44Speaker 8: You is this.
- 20:46Speaker 7: What I'm trying to tell you is this. And you
- 20:50Speaker 7: know I ain't lying. So what I'm telling you is this, right?
- 20:56Speaker 7: This is different. Like, well, what about this? What about that? Listen,
- 21:00Speaker 7: Cohen's not the president. Cohen is not running stuff. I know.
- 21:03Speaker 2: I just think it's weird.
- 21:06Speaker 7: I mean, what I'm telling you is this. This guy
- 21:08Speaker 7: is the president. And we got wars going on. We
- 21:11Speaker 7: got the economy in trouble. And, you know, you guys still,
- 21:14Speaker 7: one thing I haven't heard from you guys in a
- 21:15Speaker 7: long time was the real inflation. Let me ask you
- 21:20Speaker 7: a question. What is the real inflation number now? Because
- 21:22Speaker 7: when it was 3%, when Obama, y'all said it was 9%.
- 21:25Speaker 7: So what is the real inflation right now and the
- 21:28Speaker 7: real unemployment rate?
- 21:30Speaker 2: Right. That's what I argue with G2 over. Absolutely.
- 21:34Speaker 1: I don't let these Republicans get away with it when
- 21:36Speaker 1: they say, oh, inflation's only 3% or whatever. I go
- 21:39Speaker 1: right back to the same thing I said with Biden.
- 21:42Speaker 1: That's 3% on top.
- 21:43Speaker 2: Of what it already is.
- 21:45Speaker 1: You remember when the Biden administration used to say, oh,
- 21:48Speaker 1: inflation's only been 2.75% or something, and I would remind
- 21:52Speaker 1: everybody that's on top of what it's already been. And
- 21:55Speaker 1: now the Republicans are trying to do the same BS,
- 21:57Speaker 1: and I don't let them get away with it. Uh-uh,
- 22:00Speaker 1: not me.
- 22:00Speaker 7: But to all this one, to all this, including the
- 22:04Speaker 7: guy that's running for governor that gave all that money
- 22:08Speaker 7: to the Epstein guy, right, and then voted, to not
- 22:11Speaker 7: release the asking files, you would rather vote for him
- 22:14Speaker 7: than a Democrat?
- 22:16Speaker 3: Yes.
- 22:17Speaker 1: I can't vote for the crazy Democrat agenda. They're just crazy.
- 22:23Speaker 1: I know I've got to hang up on you because
- 22:24Speaker 1: I've got my break at 3.30, and I believe the
- 22:26Speaker 1: Guardians pregame is coming up, but call me with that.
- 22:29Speaker 1: I want to talk to you more about that. Guardians
- 22:31Speaker 1: coming up. News Radio 570 WKVN. Police are.

- 22:52Speaker 8: say the woman was spared serious injuries as her body
- 22:55Speaker 8: was protected by the wheelchair. A teenager is in custody

- 26:58Speaker 2: defeat the Angels tonight 8-6. Welcome back to the Bet365
- 27:04Speaker 2: Guardians warm-up show. The bullpen was big last night. Eight
- 27:08Speaker 2: and two-thirds innings to get the job done in a
- 27:11Speaker 2: ten-inning win. Most innings by the pen for Cleveland since
- 27:15Speaker 2: April of 2023. Logan Allen was a part of it.
- 27:18Speaker 2: We'll talk to him next.
- 27:21Speaker 6: Here's the Bet365 Minute, where winning is everything, with Scott Davidson.
- 27:26Speaker 13: Let's look at the numbers. The finale out west against
- 27:28Speaker 13: the Angels. Guardians favored to pull off the sweep. They're
- 27:31Speaker 13: minus 135, and the total is 8.5. And my play
- 27:34Speaker 13: of the day is going to be on the guards
- 27:36Speaker 13: to pull off that sweep and take care of the
- 27:38Speaker 13: Angels again this afternoon with left-hander Joey Cantillo. Now, we
- 27:41Speaker 13: talked about the Angels' struggles against lefties on Monday when
- 27:45Speaker 13: they faced Parker Messick. And that gave us a play
- 27:47Speaker 13: of the day winner. Same deal here. The Angels, 13-27
- 27:50Speaker 13: against lefties. That's the second worst mark against left-handed starters
- 27:55Speaker 13: in the American League and among the worst in baseball.
- 27:58Speaker 13: And Grayson Rodriguez, he's got a 6.5 ERA for the Angels.
- 28:02Speaker 13: I think the guards get to him. Cleveland, Moneyline, my
- 28:04Speaker 13: play of the day. Now you can join me when

- 28:31Speaker 2: Welcome back to guardians warm-up series finale here in anaheim
- 28:34Speaker 2: this afternoon we're joined by logan allen part of a
- 28:37Speaker 2: tremendous win last night for the guardians so many uh
- 28:40Speaker 2: players who've contributed in key ways and Logan three innings
- 28:44Speaker 2: for you at a key time in the game and
- 28:46Speaker 2: and you kept it close and what was that like
- 28:49Speaker 2: coming in on a night where Gavin Williams is pitching
- 28:52Speaker 2: and yet the bullpen's called.
- 28:53Speaker 14: Early yeah it's just uh you know that's their job
- 28:57Speaker 14: down there is to pick up the starters whenever they
- 28:58Speaker 14: need us and you know Gavin's been doing it all
- 29:01Speaker 14: year so you know those those games where you do
- 29:04Speaker 14: struggle it is nice to be able to pick them
- 29:06Speaker 14: up and obviously keep the team in it and you
- 29:08Speaker 14: know give us a chance to win and Obviously, Gavin
- 29:10Speaker 14: didn't have his best stuff, but he kept us in
- 29:12Speaker 14: it as well. He left the game and gave us
- 29:15Speaker 14: a chance to win, and that's all you can ask for.
- 29:17Speaker 2: And certainly for you, you have great familiarity with this
- 29:19Speaker 2: team from a season ago, and a couple of stints
- 29:22Speaker 2: up here this year. When you see Stephen Kwan have
- 29:25Speaker 2: the night he had, and Jose Ramirez had the night
- 29:27Speaker 2: he had, do you feel like, hey, this team should
- 29:31Speaker 2: be in great shape down the stretch because of what
- 29:33Speaker 2: you know about those two?
- 29:34Speaker 14: Yeah, I feel like I said last night, these guys
- 29:36Speaker 14: are kind of like traditionally the guys that kind of
- 29:39Speaker 14: get us going, so you know anytime those guys are
- 29:41Speaker 14: rolling and playing well i feel like it kind of
- 29:43Speaker 14: boosts the lineup you know brings a boost of energy
- 29:45Speaker 14: to the clubhouse and obviously with some of the reinforcements
- 29:47Speaker 14: that we have now in the lineup as well it's
- 29:49Speaker 14: like marrying those two things together and you know it's
- 29:51Speaker 14: really exciting to see what we got going.
- 29:53Speaker 2: And obviously to to come back in a game, the
- 29:55Speaker 2: bullpen has to do its job. You're in the bullpen,
- 29:57Speaker 2: and we've always seen you as a starter before. How
- 29:59Speaker 2: have you handled that transition up here to working out
- 30:02Speaker 2: of the pen and being able to contribute?
- 30:04Speaker 14: It's been great. It's obviously different. I've had a lot
- 30:08Speaker 14: of experience starting, and it's cool to get the experience
- 30:10Speaker 14: now out of the bullpen, but any opportunity to be
- 30:13Speaker 14: up here is an opportunity that I'm grateful for, so
- 30:16Speaker 14: obviously thankful for that and just trying to make the
- 30:18Speaker 14: most of it while I'm up here and help the
- 30:21Speaker 14: team win games, throw up as many zeros as I
- 30:22Speaker 14: can whenever they call my name.
- 30:24Speaker 2: And it always seems like you're level-headed in the time
- 30:26Speaker 2: that we've known you. This year, more than any, important
- 30:30Speaker 2: to try and keep your focus regardless of where you
- 30:33Speaker 2: are and keep moving forward?
- 30:36Speaker 7: Yeah, no doubt.
- 30:37Speaker 14: I mean, this year's definitely been big about, you know,
- 30:41Speaker 14: figuring out who you are as a player and kind of,
- 30:43Speaker 14: you know, being grounded in that and trusting who I
- 30:46Speaker 14: am as a pitcher and, you know, feeling confident in that.
- 30:48Speaker 14: I feel like I've been able to do that whether
- 30:49Speaker 14: I'm in, you know, here or in Columbus. And, you know,
- 30:52Speaker 14: like I said, just happy to be up here now and,
- 30:54Speaker 14: helping us win games and help contribute.
- 30:55Speaker 2: And you mentioned that timing-wise, great time to be here.
- 30:58Speaker 2: A team probably playing its best baseball. How closely have
- 31:02Speaker 2: you followed it while you're at Columbus and then to
- 31:04Speaker 2: be able to come up here and see them playing
- 31:06Speaker 2: their best baseball?
- 31:07Speaker 14: Yeah, I mean, we're following along a lot with, you know,
- 31:10Speaker 14: the games on there. Obviously, a lot of the schedules coincide.
- 31:12Speaker 14: So we're, you know, you're always kind of box score watching. So,
- 31:15Speaker 14: you know, we always kept up with how the guys
- 31:16Speaker 14: are doing and, Obviously, you're always one call away, so
- 31:19Speaker 14: everyone's always keeping tabs. But it's obviously really cool to
- 31:21Speaker 14: see us kind of turn a corner and playing good
- 31:23Speaker 14: ball right now. And, yeah, we're excited to keep it rolling.
- 31:26Speaker 2: Logan, great to see you again. Thanks for coming by.
- 31:28Speaker 2: Thank you, Rosie.
- 31:29Speaker 3: Appreciate you.
- 31:30Speaker 2: That's Logan Allen, Guardians pitcher, who was tremendous in last
- 31:33Speaker 2: night's 8-6 win. Stay tuned. More to come after this.

- 33:54Speaker 2: out ahead of a line of storms out in Indiana
- 33:56Speaker 2: and western Ohio. That line of storms will likely move
- 33:59Speaker 2: into our western counties and then fade this evening as
- 34:01Speaker 2: it moves into Cleveland. Outside of that, low 80s for
- 34:04Speaker 2: highs this afternoon. Tonight, stray shower. We're back down.
- 34:08Speaker 20: Into the 60s, and then we're behind the front tomorrow,
- 34:10Speaker 20: so tranquil weather expected. Sunshine, a few clouds, and a
- 34:14Speaker 20: stray shower left over in our eastern counties. Temperatures tomorrow
- 34:17Speaker 20: in the upper 70s. From the 3 News Weather Center,
- 34:20Speaker 20: I'm Senior Meteorologist Matt Wintz. Hot one here in Anaheim
- 34:24Speaker 20: this afternoon, sunny and warm, and the Guardians red hot.
- 34:27Speaker 20: We'll talk about it with Manager Steven Vogt next.
- 34:34Speaker 21: Win for our guys. Get down early with Gavin on
- 34:37Speaker 21: the mound. He comes out of the game in the second.
- 34:40Speaker 21: the night does not look good and for our guys
- 34:42Speaker 21: to fight back and fight back multiple times and ultimately
- 34:45Speaker 21: take a win. So many good performances to talk through,
- 34:48Speaker 21: but just a gutsy win for our guys.
- 34:51Speaker 2: And you've played winning baseball for a while now, that's
- 34:53Speaker 2: six in a row in the win column, but why
- 34:55Speaker 2: is a win like that important as you get deeper
- 34:58Speaker 2: into this thing?
- 34:59Speaker 21: Well, I think you look at our season and there's
- 35:00Speaker 21: been numerous games that Gavin has started where, you know,
- 35:03Speaker 21: we didn't help him out and he gives us a
- 35:05Speaker 21: performance that should have led to a win and it didn't.
- 35:07Speaker 21: And He goes out and didn't quite have it last night,
- 35:11Speaker 21: and what did the team do? They picked him up,
- 35:13Speaker 21: and that's what good teams do. They don't quit. They
- 35:15Speaker 21: don't go away. Our guys, there was never a.
- 35:18Speaker 2: Feeling of we're losing this game.
- 35:20Speaker 21: They kept the energy going in the dugout, and we
- 35:22Speaker 21: knew we were going to come back and give ourselves
- 35:24Speaker 21: a chance, and they did.
- 35:26Speaker 2: So many key performances by so many different players, but
- 35:29Speaker 2: Jose Ramirez has arguably his best game of the season.
- 35:34Speaker 2: What have you seen from him lately that's indicated that
- 35:37Speaker 2: all right, maybe he's different, but he's battling through and
- 35:40Speaker 2: can get some good things done.
- 35:41Speaker 21: Well, I think you're starting to see him hit the
- 35:42Speaker 21: ball harder. And, you know, that's just indicative. I mean,
- 35:44Speaker 21: he's coming off of a wrist surgery. I mean, let's
- 35:47Speaker 21: not shy away from it. And, you know, I think
- 35:50Speaker 21: for him, he got some pitches to hit and he
- 35:52Speaker 21: hit them hard. And that's a really good sign. He's
- 35:54Speaker 21: starting to feel better. He's communicating that he's feeling better
- 35:56Speaker 21: each day. And it's still there. He's still battling through it.
- 35:59Speaker 21: But it's Jose Ramirez. He's going to find a way
- 36:02Speaker 21: and he's going to, you know, he's been picking up
- 36:03Speaker 21: our team and carrying us for a long time, even
- 36:06Speaker 21: before I was here.
- 36:07Speaker 2: And He did it again last night. And what does
- 36:09Speaker 2: that mean for his teammates when he has a game
- 36:11Speaker 2: like that?
- 36:12Speaker 21: I mean, when Hosey goes, we go. And there's no
- 36:14Speaker 21: one that brings more energy to our dugout than Hosey.
- 36:16Speaker 21: And we just all marvel at how he plays. I mean,
- 36:20Speaker 21: 30 stolen bases after missing five weeks already in August.
- 36:23Speaker 21: That's pretty impressive in itself. And just, you know, when
- 36:28Speaker 21: guys are on base, you know, we know he's going
- 36:30Speaker 21: to get the job done. And, man, he had a
- 36:31Speaker 21: great night. You won six in a row. But you've
- 36:35Speaker 21: been saying for a while that you felt good about
- 36:37Speaker 21: this team and you were seeing some positive signs. Even
- 36:40Speaker 21: before the wind started coming consistently, what was telling you
- 36:43Speaker 21: that maybe there was a good stretch coming? We're too
- 36:46Speaker 21: good for it to continue to trend the way it was.
- 36:48Speaker 21: I mean, we went through a tough stretch. We went
- 36:50Speaker 21: through a very tough stretch. But the guys didn't lose resiliency.
- 36:54Speaker 21: The guys didn't lose faith. And you have to continue
- 36:56Speaker 21: to believe. That's the only thing you can do. You
- 36:58Speaker 21: cannot get caught up in the negativity. You cannot get
- 37:01Speaker 21: caught up in wins, losses, anything. You have to just
- 37:04Speaker 21: keep your head down, show up every day, ready to win,
- 37:07Speaker 21: and go out and do your best. We were doing
- 37:08Speaker 21: a lot of things really well. We just weren't finding
- 37:11Speaker 21: ways to win, and that's why I kept saying it's
- 37:13Speaker 21: going to turn. It's been a nice little stretch run
- 37:16Speaker 21: for us here. We'd love to finish it off strong here,
- 37:19Speaker 21: but we've got a lot of baseball left, and we've
- 37:20Speaker 21: got to keep working.

- 43:19Speaker 2: bat second. Jose Ramirez, the DH, will hit third. Joe
- 43:23Speaker 2: Adele in right field, bats clean up. Nathaniel Lowe, the
- 43:26Speaker 2: first baseman, bats fifth. Angel Martinez in left field hits sixth.
- 43:30Speaker 2: Angel Henao, the third baseman, bats seventh. Austin Hedges will
- 43:34Speaker 2: do the catching, bat eighth. And Brian Rocchio at shortstop
- 43:38Speaker 2: hits ninth. On the mound, lefty Joey Cantillo. Now for
- 43:42Speaker 2: Kurt Suzuki and the Angels leading things off the shortstop,
- 43:45Speaker 2: Zach Netto. Mike Trout, the designated hitter, bats second. Vaughn
- 43:50Speaker 2: Grissom will be at first base. He's batting third. Christian Moore,
- 43:53Speaker 2: the second baseman, bats cleanup. Jose Siri in left field
- 43:57Speaker 2: will hit fifth. Josh Lowe, the right fielder, bats sixth.
- 44:00Speaker 2: Denzer Guzman at third base bats seventh. Tyler Heinemann is
- 44:05Speaker 2: the catcher hitting eighth. And Bryce Teodosio is in center
- 44:08Speaker 2: field batting ninth. On the mound, Grayson Rodriguez. Those are
- 44:12Speaker 2: your starting lineups. Now stay tuned. When we return, it's

- 45:01Speaker 2: Guardians baseball today from Angel Stadium in Southern California, Anaheim.
- 45:08Speaker 2: It's the Guardians and the Los Angeles Angels. This is
- 45:11Speaker 2: the finale of a three-game series and the final game
- 45:15Speaker 2: of what has been a wildly successful season. Six-game road
- 45:19Speaker 2: swing for Cleveland. Jim Rosenhouse along with you. Tom Hamilton
- 45:22Speaker 2: with the road trip off. Hammy will be back on
- 45:24Speaker 2: Friday when the team returns home to take on the
- 45:27Speaker 2: Kansas City Royals. We've been joined on this leg of
- 45:30Speaker 2: the trip on loan from Guardians TV. Chris Jimenez, the
- 45:33Speaker 2: former major leaguer. and a good portion of that time
- 45:36Speaker 2: with Cleveland. Chris, the Guardians, they've taken care of business
- 45:41Speaker 2: to the extreme on this road trip, playing their best
- 45:43Speaker 2: baseball of the season. Yes, couldn't have come at a
- 45:46Speaker 2: better time for the Cleveland Guardians as well, as they
- 45:49Speaker 2: needed a stretch like this. If only just to continue
- 45:53Speaker 2: to gather momentum going into September. We know what happened
- 45:56Speaker 2: to this team last year. I don't think you can
- 45:58Speaker 2: necessarily rely on the fact that, hey, we can just
- 46:01Speaker 2: flip that switch on, but if that's what they want
- 46:03Speaker 2: to do every year, more power to them. Well, they're
- 46:05Speaker 2: playing good baseball and another win last night. They're sixth
- 46:08Speaker 2: in a row as they won a 10-inning game, 8-6.
- 46:12Speaker 2: And a lot of the victories on this road trip
- 46:14Speaker 2: have been pretty straightforward. Good hitting, good pitching. This one
- 46:18Speaker 2: needed a big comeback from five runs down early. Yeah,
- 46:21Speaker 2: they did. Down five in the second inning, you start
- 46:23Speaker 2: to think, oh, boy, could this be that turning point?
- 46:25Speaker 2: And what a way to exit that five-game winning streak.
- 46:28Speaker 2: But to give credit to this offense... They continued to
- 46:32Speaker 2: scratch and claw, scratched a few out. A couple innings later,
- 46:35Speaker 2: ended up tying that baseball game up and going into
- 46:37Speaker 2: extra innings. This was a massive team win, and morale's
- 46:40Speaker 2: about as high as I've seen it right now in
- 46:41Speaker 2: that clubhouse. You mentioned team win, and the bullpen logged
- 46:44Speaker 2: eight and two-thirds innings last night. It's a little thin
- 46:48Speaker 2: out there today, putting some pressure on the starting pitcher,
- 46:50Speaker 2: Joey Cantillo, to get deep. There's no doubt about it.
- 46:53Speaker 2: It's a hot, muggy day. We've talked about how hot
- 46:55Speaker 2: it's been here. This has been unseasonably hot in Southern California.
- 47:00Speaker 2: You just hope that Joey can go out there and
- 47:01Speaker 2: throw strikes, attack the strike zone. He's got incredible stuff
- 47:05Speaker 2: and the ability to cruise in this game. Getting strike
- 47:08Speaker 2: one is unbelievable. of the utmost importance. And he'll be
- 47:11Speaker 2: opposed by right-hander Grayson Rodriguez, at one time one of
- 47:14Speaker 2: the top pitching prospects in the game when he was
- 47:17Speaker 2: at the Baltimore Orioles, now coming back from injury, and
- 47:20Speaker 2: the biggest key for him is he's been healthy and
- 47:23Speaker 2: he's starting to come on down the stretch. Yeah, he
- 47:25Speaker 2: really is. The slider has gotten a lot better over
- 47:27Speaker 2: the last three starts in particular. It's good premium velo, 96-98.
- 47:32Speaker 2: You hope he can continue to throw strikes. That's been
- 47:34Speaker 2: an issue for him in the past. So these guys
- 47:36Speaker 2: are going to have to get him up in the
- 47:38Speaker 2: strike zone today. Tons of early count fastballs. So if
- 47:41Speaker 2: you're looking to attack early, look for your zone and
- 47:44Speaker 2: get that changeup and slider up in the strike zone. Well,
- 47:47Speaker 2: we'll play today's game at Angel Stadium in Anaheim. It
- 47:50Speaker 2: opened up back in 1966 with a capacity just over 45,000.
- 47:56Speaker 2: and it will be almost empty today because it is
- 47:59Speaker 2: a brutally hot day here. Temperatures could approach the 100-degree mark,
- 48:04Speaker 2: real feel-wise and regular temperature-wise at some point in time.
- 48:08Speaker 2: There's not a cloud in the sky, so the folks
- 48:10Speaker 2: that are here are trying to tuck it under the
- 48:12Speaker 2: limited shade that they have to try and find a
- 48:15Speaker 2: cooler spot, but that's a challenge. It's certainly a challenge
- 48:17Speaker 2: today in particular, the sun directly over the top of
- 48:20Speaker 2: us right now. And I'll tell you what, you know
- 48:22Speaker 2: this full well, it's not very cool in this booth
- 48:25Speaker 2: right now either. And we'll see if the ball flies
- 48:28Speaker 2: too with some night games here. A lot of hard-hit
- 48:31Speaker 2: balls died on the warning track, but maybe not today
- 48:34Speaker 2: in the sunshine. as pretty good fence distances here, 330
- 48:39Speaker 2: down the line in left, left field to dead left, 350,
- 48:43Speaker 2: then left center branches out to 389, 396 to dead center,
- 48:48Speaker 2: 365 to right center, and down that right field line, 350.
- 48:53Speaker 2: Eight-foot-high home run fence most of the way around except
- 48:57Speaker 2: in the corners where it drops down to five feet,
- 49:00Speaker 2: and we saw Angel Martinez test that center field, eight-foot-high
- 49:05Speaker 2: wall last night as he took a maybe a home
- 49:07Speaker 2: run away from Mike Trout. I asked Don Hell about that,
- 49:10Speaker 2: that key catch late in the game, and he said
- 49:12Speaker 2: he's not sure if it would have gone out or not,
- 49:14Speaker 2: but he made a great grab just the same. And
- 49:16Speaker 2: that defensive play really helped the Guardians on their way
- 49:19Speaker 2: to the 10.
- 49:20Speaker 3: Win.
- 49:20Speaker 2: The Angels have taken the field, and they do so
- 49:23Speaker 2: behind Grayson Rodriguez, your umpiring crew, Mike Malinsky, he's the
- 49:28Speaker 2: home plate umpire, Emil Jimenez at first base, Gabe Morales,
- 49:32Speaker 2: the second base umpire, and the crew chief is Doug Eddings.
- 49:36Speaker 2: is around at third. And again, on the mound, Grayson Rodriguez,
- 49:41Speaker 2: a former top-round draft pick of the Baltimore Orioles, acquired
- 49:45Speaker 2: via trade in the offseason for Taylor Ward. and still
- 49:50Speaker 2: reasonably young with a bright future ahead at the age
- 49:52Speaker 2: of 26. But as we mentioned at the top, some
- 49:56Speaker 2: injuries have set him back, and he's starting to find
- 49:58Speaker 2: his groove now late in the season. Yeah, he's making
- 50:01Speaker 2: his 15th start of the season here in Anaheim. He's
- 50:04Speaker 2: essentially missed the last 22 months because of injury. So,
- 50:08Speaker 2: you know... Easily to see why the Angels would want
- 50:11Speaker 2: to take a chance on him. Four years of team
- 50:12Speaker 2: control left for Taylor Ward, just a single year, and
- 50:16Speaker 2: the Baltimore Orioles actually ended up trading Taylor Ward at
- 50:19Speaker 2: the trade deadline this year. So essentially a half a
- 50:21Speaker 2: season for four years of control over a starter that's
- 50:24Speaker 2: got some incredible stuff. So Rodriguez ready to go. His
- 50:28Speaker 2: overall numbers this season, the ERA almost at 7 at
- 50:33Speaker 2: 6.41 with a record of 4 and 5 coming in.
- 50:37Speaker 2: Stephen Kwan to lead things off. Hot off a five-hit
- 50:40Speaker 2: game last night. Here's the pitch. And we are underway
- 50:44Speaker 2: as the first pitch is down low for ball one.
- 50:48Speaker 2: And we are at 92 degrees at game time here.
- 50:52Speaker 2: Bright sunshine. Rodriguez right back to it to Kwon. Next
- 50:57Speaker 2: pitch on the inside corner for a strike. 1-1 the count. Well,
- 51:02Speaker 2: it certainly feels every bit of 92, and I'm sure
- 51:04Speaker 2: it's significantly warmer down there on the playing surface. Here's
- 51:09Speaker 2: the 1-1. Kwon chops it foul at home plate, and
- 51:12Speaker 2: the count's now 1-2. Second career five-hit game for Kwon
- 51:18Speaker 2: last night. Last time he did it back in the
- 51:20Speaker 2: 2022 campaign. On base six times as he also walked.
- 51:26Speaker 2: Here's the 1-2. Swung on. Ripped foul outside of first.
- 51:30Speaker 2: Just past Sandy Alomar on the first base coaching lines.
- 51:34Speaker 2: Ruclas Odor coaching at third again for the Guardians. Just underway.
- 51:41Speaker 2: No score. Top half of the first inning. Rodriguez with
- 51:46Speaker 2: the 1-2. Swung on. Popped it up foul. Back out
- 51:49Speaker 2: of play. And will do it again on 1-2 to Kwan.
- 51:53Speaker 2: The average now up to 274 on the year. The
- 51:57Speaker 2: on-base percentage, 378. It's amazing. The 1-2. Down low, 2-2.
- 52:05Speaker 2: It doesn't seem like that long ago where Kwon was
- 52:08Speaker 2: just fighting to stay above the 200 mark. But it
- 52:13Speaker 2: really clicked in mid-June and then really started sizzling at
- 52:16Speaker 2: the 1st of July and since.
- 52:19Speaker 3: The 2-2.
- 52:21Speaker 2: Just down low. No challenge by the catcher, Tyler Heinemann,
- 52:27Speaker 2: on a pitch that looked like it had the plate,
- 52:30Speaker 2: but just a little bit low. So a full count
- 52:33Speaker 2: for Kwon. Here it comes. Swung on, looped foul, and
- 52:38Speaker 2: out of play. Third base side. He'll do it again
- 52:41Speaker 2: on three and two, and this is what you like
- 52:43Speaker 2: to see, a lot of pitches. There's no doubt it's
- 52:46Speaker 2: going to be the ninth pitch of the at-bat here
- 52:48Speaker 2: to Stephen Kwon in the first half. He continues to
- 52:51Speaker 2: not only get hits, but could work an at-bat with
- 52:53Speaker 2: a vestibule. 3-2 pitch. Swung on. Ground ball near the middle.
- 52:58Speaker 2: On through. Base hit. Center field. And the daily leadoff
- 53:04Speaker 2: single for Stephen Kwan continues as he has had a
- 53:08Speaker 2: tremendous road trip. That's his 11th hit on the trip
- 53:12Speaker 2: and the 8th in this series. It is hard to
- 53:15Speaker 2: believe six for his last six with a walk mixed
- 53:18Speaker 2: in there. Rosie, it took me two months to get
- 53:20Speaker 2: six hits. Back when I played, Stephen Kwan did it
- 53:23Speaker 2: in two days. He is something else. So he sets
- 53:27Speaker 2: the table for Travis Bazzana. Left-handed hitting second baseman. Here's
- 53:33Speaker 2: the pitch from Rodriguez, and it's swung on and fouled back.
- 53:37Speaker 2: Setting the defense for you for the Angels. Jose Siri
- 53:42Speaker 2: is in left. Bryce Anderson. Matti Adosio just up from
- 53:45Speaker 2: the minor leagues. He's in center. And Josh Lowe is
- 53:49Speaker 2: around and right. Get the infielders for you after this
- 53:52Speaker 2: pitch to Bazana. The next pitch is swung on and
- 53:56Speaker 2: chopped foul at home plate. And quickly it's 0-2. On
- 53:58Speaker 2: the infield, Vaughn Grissom at first. Christian Moore is the
- 54:03Speaker 2: second baseman. Zach Netto at shortstop. Denzer Guzman is around
- 54:08Speaker 2: at third with Tyler Heinemann catching. The 26-year-old out of Nogadoches, Texas,
- 54:15Speaker 2: Grayson Rodriguez. Here's the 0-2. Swung on, foul tip hung
- 54:22Speaker 2: on to by Heinemann. That's strike three. And Pazana is
- 54:27Speaker 2: down on strikes. Well, a good pitch here from Grayson
- 54:31Speaker 2: Rodriguez after what was a long at-bat. He just went fastball,
- 54:36Speaker 2: middle away to Travis Pazana, who was just underneath the
- 54:39Speaker 2: pitch for a foul tip. Strike three, and now here
- 54:43Speaker 2: comes Mr. Doubles himself. Jose Ramirez with three doubles last night,
- 54:50Speaker 2: producing five RBIs, the pitch to him. On the inside corner,
- 54:54Speaker 2: strike one. And Jose starting to come around at the plate.
- 55:00Speaker 2: Took him a little bit coming off of that handmade surgery.
- 55:04Speaker 2: Average up to 240. Ten homers, 44 driven in.
- 55:05Speaker 1: The 0-1.
- 55:10Speaker 2: And it's on the outside corner for a strike, and
- 55:12Speaker 2: it's 0-2. And it's just amazing the impact he has
- 55:16Speaker 2: on his teammates. They love seeing what happened last night.
- 55:21Speaker 2: RBI doubles in key spots, including the two-run double in
- 55:26Speaker 2: the 10th inning. It proved to be the game winner.
- 55:29Speaker 2: The 0-2 is swung on and popped up foul out
- 55:31Speaker 2: of play, third base. Yeah, it was great to see Jose.
- 55:36Speaker 2: That was a big game for him, I think, mentally
- 55:38Speaker 2: as well.
- 55:38Speaker 4: You know, just.
- 55:39Speaker 2: continuing to make that rehab process a real thing, not
- 55:42Speaker 2: only physically, but the mental side of that, which again,
- 55:46Speaker 2: for somebody as good as him, you don't think you
- 55:48Speaker 2: necessarily have to go through, but that's the way it goes.
- 55:52Speaker 2: There's the 0-2, and it's up high, 1-2. There's maybe
- 55:57Speaker 2: 10 people in the upper deck on the third base
- 55:59Speaker 2: side right now, and they're all tucked under the overhang,
- 56:04Speaker 2: and they came down and chased after that foul ball,
- 56:07Speaker 2: and That's why you hear the cheering in the background.
- 56:11Speaker 2: The 1-2. Swung on. Line drive. Base hit. Right field.
- 56:15Speaker 2: Moving up 90 feet to second is Kwon. And Ramirez,
- 56:19Speaker 2: he has a solid line drive single to start his day.
- 56:24Speaker 2: Jose picking up right where he left off last night
- 56:26Speaker 2: as well. Has nice, easy, smooth swings. Again, that was
- 56:31Speaker 2: a fastball at the bottom part of the strike zone.
- 56:33Speaker 2: Jose just kind of stayed right behind that ball with
- 56:36Speaker 2: the barrel. Served it out into right field, and now
- 56:40Speaker 2: Joe Adele comes up with runners at first and second.
- 56:45Speaker 2: And he has been an RBI machine since joining the Guardians.
- 56:49Speaker 2: 18 runs batted in in his first 19 games with Cleveland.
- 56:54Speaker 2: Here's the pitch to him. He swings and chops it
- 56:57Speaker 2: foul for strike one. Now Adele enjoying his return to Anaheim.
- 57:05Speaker 2: The team that drafted him in the first round developed him.
- 57:08Speaker 2: He had his best season here last year. Here comes
- 57:14Speaker 2: the 0-1. On the inside corner for a strike. And
- 57:19Speaker 2: it counts now 1-1 on Adele. And really nice receptions
- 57:25Speaker 2: from the fans here each time he has come to
- 57:27Speaker 2: the plate. Great to see, too. Great fans when you know...
- 57:33Speaker 2: Nothing that the young man could do. Here's the 0-2.
- 57:38Speaker 2: Swung on. Ground ball near the middle. Picked up by Moore.
- 57:41Speaker 2: The second baseman steps on the bag for one. Throws
- 57:44Speaker 2: to first. Double play. So Grayson Rodriguez works out of
- 57:49Speaker 2: the jam. No damage done. And we played a half
- 57:51Speaker 2: inning in Anaheim. It's the Guardians nothing. The Angels coming up.
- 57:56Speaker 10: Hey, Guardians fans, are you thinking of consolidating your debt

- 59:42Speaker 1: Hey, it's Ron Burb, and I'm taking on the stories
- 59:44Speaker 1: that actually matter after Guardians Baseball on 570 WKBN.
- 59:52Speaker 2: The 26-year-old left-hander, Joey Cantillo, takes the mound today for
- 59:56Speaker 2: the Guardians. Heels from Honolulu, Hawaii, 6'4, 225. One of
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: the bright young pitchers in the American League. Will face
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: Zach Netto in this scoreless first inning. Netto right-handed hitting
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: shortstop for the Angels. And he takes a breaking ball
- 1:00:13Speaker 2: in there for strike one. We're going to get a
- 1:00:16Speaker 2: challenge here. First pitch of the game. I love it.
- 1:00:21Speaker 2: So the Angels living on the edge. And the ABS
- 1:00:26Speaker 2: says it's a strike. Very quickly, Los Angeles down to
- 1:00:33Speaker 2: one challenge. So 0-1 the count on Netto, the reigning
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: American League Player of the Week after going 14 for
- 1:00:42Speaker 2: 28 last week. Here's the pitch, and it's outside for
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: a ball changeup that time. Netto with a 7-RBI game
- 1:00:52Speaker 2: in that we've gone by. Here's Cantillo's 1-1 on the
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: outside corner. Great striking ball. Great breaking ball right there.
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: And again, I think that's a very good sign early
- 1:01:07Speaker 2: on in this game for Joey. He's thrown three separate
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: pitches already to Zach Netto. Two of those three for strikes.
- 1:01:16Speaker 2: Here's the 1-2. Swung on and chopped foul at home plate.
- 1:01:20Speaker 2: He'll do it again on one and two. Netto with
- 1:01:25Speaker 2: two hits in the series in nine at-bats. Former top-round
- 1:01:31Speaker 2: pick of the Angels. Here comes the one-two delivery. Swung on,
- 1:01:39Speaker 2: and that's lined to left. Charging in, but playing it
- 1:01:42Speaker 2: on the hop is Angel Martinez. And it's a lead-off
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: single for Zach Netto. Well, that ball was not hit
- 1:01:49Speaker 2: as hard As Angel thought it was right off the bat,
- 1:01:52Speaker 2: I do believe that ball got in on Zach. Quite considerably, actually.
- 1:01:57Speaker 2: Give him a little credit for being able to fight
- 1:01:59Speaker 2: that ball off just enough to dump it into left
- 1:02:01Speaker 2: field in front of Angel. But so far, so good.
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: I like what I'm seeing out of Joey Cantillo. Again,
- 1:02:07Speaker 2: a major key for him today is pounding the strike zone.
- 1:02:11Speaker 2: Mike Trout steps in. Pitch to him. Swung on and
- 1:02:16Speaker 2: he blasts it high in the air to right center.
- 1:02:19Speaker 2: Cruising after it, the right fielder and making the catch
- 1:02:22Speaker 2: is Joe Adele. Not far from the warning track, but
- 1:02:26Speaker 2: Trout is retired. Another first pitch strike there from Joe.
- 1:02:32Speaker 2: He's two for two on the afternoon so far. Now
- 1:02:37Speaker 2: finds himself potentially a pitch away from getting out of
- 1:02:39Speaker 2: this inning. He faces Vaughn Grissom. Had a big night
- 1:02:43Speaker 2: last night with two home runs for the Angels. Nine
- 1:02:47Speaker 2: on the season now and 54 driven in. Right-handed hitting
- 1:02:52Speaker 2: first baseman. Runner at first, no score. Here's the pitch.
- 1:02:57Speaker 2: Outside for a ball. Game time temperature 92 degrees. It's
- 1:03:02Speaker 2: brought to you by Gusto. Hire, pay, and grow your
- 1:03:06Speaker 2: team with Gusto. Bright sunshine, very little breeze, maybe blowing
- 1:03:11Speaker 2: out just a little bit. Throw to first. Back safely
- 1:03:17Speaker 2: is Netto. The defense for the Guardians today. Martinez in left.
- 1:03:21Speaker 2: Stephen Kwan in center. Joe Adele in right. Nathaniel Lowe
- 1:03:25Speaker 2: at first. Travis Bazzana at second. Brian Rocchio at short.
- 1:03:29Speaker 2: Angel Hanau around at third with Austin Hedges catching. Here's
- 1:03:34Speaker 2: the pitch. And it's on the outside. Corner for a strike.
- 1:03:37Speaker 2: Another good off-speed pitch from Cantillo. So one and one
- 1:03:43Speaker 2: to count on Grissom. with Netto at first base, one down.
- 1:03:52Speaker 2: There's Cantillo's pitch. Off speed on the inside corner for
- 1:03:56Speaker 2: a strike. Another curve ball there. Again, something that I
- 1:04:02Speaker 2: think Austin Hedges identified. This is going to work very
- 1:04:05Speaker 2: well for Joey this afternoon. Long set. Now the 1-2.
- 1:04:14Speaker 2: Curve ball. Foul back. Grissom stays alive. For Joey Cantillo,
- 1:04:21Speaker 2: he has been durable. Made every start. This is number
- 1:04:26Speaker 2: 28 on the season for him. He's 9-7. His earned
- 1:04:30Speaker 2: run average, 3.73. Goes just about five innings a start.
- 1:04:35Speaker 2: Ten strikeouts, four walks every nine innings. And gets it
- 1:04:40Speaker 2: done with a heavy use of that curve ball. We've
- 1:04:43Speaker 2: seen that already. Here comes his one-two delivery. Swung on,
- 1:04:51Speaker 2: chopped foul at home plate. Grissom can't staying alive. Now
- 1:04:57Speaker 2: what a road trip it's been for Cleveland. They swept
- 1:05:00Speaker 2: the Rockies three in a row. Now they're trying to
- 1:05:04Speaker 2: do the same to the Angels here in Anaheim and
- 1:05:08Speaker 2: actually sweep the season series. They won the three games
- 1:05:11Speaker 2: back in Cleveland in May. Here comes the 1-2 to Grissom.
- 1:05:20Speaker 2: Swung on. There's a slow tap for third base side.
- 1:05:23Speaker 2: Picked up by Cantillo. Spins and throws. And throws it
- 1:05:26Speaker 2: down the right field line. On his way to third
- 1:05:28Speaker 2: is Netto. He's going to come home. Here comes the relay.
- 1:05:32Speaker 2: It goes to third. Netto scores. Hung up in a
- 1:05:35Speaker 2: run down is Grissom. He's tagged out by Henao. But
- 1:05:40Speaker 2: the run comes across on the error by Joey Cantillo.
- 1:05:44Speaker 2: And the Angels take a 1-0 lead. Well, I'm sure
- 1:05:48Speaker 2: this is a play Joey would love to have back.
- 1:05:51Speaker 2: Probably really no reason to even throw that baseball as
- 1:05:54Speaker 2: Vaughn Grissom was getting down the line, and that ball
- 1:05:57Speaker 2: was hit essentially like a soft bunt down the third baseline.
- 1:06:02Speaker 2: Joey trying to make a play, but good backup there
- 1:06:06Speaker 2: by Joe Adele getting the ball in to the cutoff man.
- 1:06:09Speaker 2: Christian Moore steps in with a runner actually tagged out
- 1:06:13Speaker 2: at third base, Grissom.
- 1:06:15Speaker 3: So.
- 1:06:16Speaker 2: Moore at the plate with nobody on base. Two down,
- 1:06:20Speaker 2: but a run in. And the Angels in front quickly.
- 1:06:26Speaker 2: Here's the 1-0. Low and outside, and the count's now
- 1:06:30Speaker 2: 2-0 on Moore. Well, we saw the Guardians fall behind
- 1:06:35Speaker 2: 5-0 last night, but that's not something you want to
- 1:06:39Speaker 2: make a habit of. Here's the 2-0. That's outside and
- 1:06:45Speaker 2: high for ball three. Moore, another former first-round draft pick
- 1:06:53Speaker 2: by the Angels, playing in just his tenth game this
- 1:06:55Speaker 2: season in the big leagues. Most of it spent at AAA.
- 1:07:02Speaker 2: Here's the 3-0. Outside and high, ball four. He walks
- 1:07:07Speaker 2: him on four in a row. Joey's going to have
- 1:07:10Speaker 2: to take a step behind the mound right here, catch
- 1:07:12Speaker 2: his breath. And sometimes, young players in particular, you go out,
- 1:07:18Speaker 2: you try to make a play, things go sideways, and
- 1:07:22Speaker 2: now you have to recollect yourself. He's got to get
- 1:07:24Speaker 2: himself back in this at-bat right here to Jose Siri.
- 1:07:30Speaker 2: Siri steps in, batting. 250, seven homers,. 23 driven in.
- 1:07:34Speaker 2: The pitch to him, curveball on the inside corner for
- 1:07:38Speaker 2: a strike. By the way, that... That slowly hit ground
- 1:07:41Speaker 2: ball that resulted in a run off the bat of
- 1:07:44Speaker 2: Vaughn Grissom. He was credited with a single. And then
- 1:07:48Speaker 2: a throwing error by Cantillo. Here's the pitch. And that's
- 1:07:52Speaker 2: on the outside corner for a strike. And then Grissom
- 1:07:56Speaker 2: was thrown out trying to advance to third on that error.
- 1:08:01Speaker 2: Adele to Nathaniel Lowe at first base. And then Angel Hanau,
- 1:08:05Speaker 2: the third baseman, applied the tag. Here comes the 0-2 pitch.
- 1:08:12Speaker 2: There goes the runner, and the pitch is swung on
- 1:08:14Speaker 2: and missed. Strike three, and that retires the side. But
- 1:08:18Speaker 2: the Angels score first, and we'll head to the second inning.
- 1:08:21Speaker 2: Los Angeles 1, the Guardians nothing.
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: Ron Furb checking in with Bob Dieter out at Dietz
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: Ron Furb. I'm saying what everyone else won't after Guardians
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: baseball on 570 WKBN.
- 1:08:33Speaker 2: Guardians trailing 1-0. Second inning here in Anaheim. Nathaniel Lowe
- 1:08:38Speaker 2: leads things off for the Guardians. And Grayson Rodriguez fires
- 1:08:41Speaker 2: a strike on the outside corner. 95 on the fastball.
- 1:08:46Speaker 2: We'll see a lot of that today as he averages
- 1:08:49Speaker 2: mid to upper 90s with his hard stuff. Here's the 0-1.
- 1:08:53Speaker 2: And that's swung on and peppered into right center field.
- 1:08:55Speaker 2: A base hit off the bat of Lowe. It's deep
- 1:08:58Speaker 2: in the gap. Does he go for it?
- 1:08:59Speaker 27: Nope.
- 1:09:00Speaker 2: Stays at first base with a long single. Sharply struck
- 1:09:03Speaker 2: by Nathaniel Lowe. Well, if there's a right field arm
- 1:09:06Speaker 2: that Nathaniel Lowe probably knows better than any right field
- 1:09:10Speaker 2: arm in Major League Baseball, it is his younger brother, Josh.
- 1:09:15Speaker 2: As he smoked this baseball, looked like this ball was
- 1:09:17Speaker 2: going to get in the gap. But give his younger brother, Josh,
- 1:09:21Speaker 2: a little credit. Was not about to let his brother
- 1:09:23Speaker 2: lead off with a double. So Lowe's aboard for Angel Martinez.
- 1:09:29Speaker 2: Rodriguez delivers, and his pitch is outside for a ball. Well,
- 1:09:33Speaker 2: in the first four innings we play, the Conrads score four,
- 1:09:36Speaker 2: win four new tires contest. Guardians score four or more
- 1:09:40Speaker 2: runs in any of the first four innings. Joanne Corey
- 1:09:45Speaker 2: of Silver Lake wins a set of Bridgestone tires. Martinez
- 1:09:48Speaker 2: swings and skies one high in the air to center.
- 1:09:51Speaker 2: Coming in on it, Teodosio, and he makes the catch.
- 1:09:56Speaker 2: First out in the inning, no advance by Lowe. If
- 1:10:01Speaker 2: you'd like to enter.
- 1:10:04Speaker 2: The Conrads score four, win four new tires contest. Visit econrads.com.
- 1:10:10Speaker 2: Brought to you by Conrads Tire Express and Total Car Care.
- 1:10:15Speaker 2: Here's Angel Hanao. Night off last night for Hanao. Rookie infielder,
- 1:10:21Speaker 2: the pitch to him. And it's outside for ball one. Hanao,
- 1:10:26Speaker 2: 17 games into his major league career. The average still
- 1:10:30Speaker 2: up at. 290. He has a home run, three runs
- 1:10:34Speaker 2: driven in. Here's the pitch from Rodriguez. Fastball strike on
- 1:10:42Speaker 2: the inside corner. Bit of hard fastball right there, too,
- 1:10:46Speaker 2: from Grayson. Not much on help could do. I think
- 1:10:49Speaker 2: he's rightfully so kind of looking up and out over
- 1:10:52Speaker 2: the plate here on this. Next pitch to him. And
- 1:10:59Speaker 2: it's outside and high for a ball. Guardians trying to
- 1:11:09Speaker 2: match their longest winning streak of the season. They won
- 1:11:12Speaker 2: seven in a row back in May. The 2-1. Strike
- 1:11:16Speaker 2: called on the outside corner.
- 1:11:17Speaker 3: 2-2.
- 1:11:18Speaker 2: And Chris, we've talked about a little bit on this
- 1:11:21Speaker 2: road swing. Teams that are struggling. Some of the worst
- 1:11:24Speaker 2: records in baseball the Guardians are playing right now in
- 1:11:27Speaker 2: Colorado and the Angels. And prior to that, the Giants.
- 1:11:30Speaker 2: You still have to go out and play the game, right? Yes,
- 1:11:32Speaker 2: you absolutely do. And it's not, you know... Who you play,
- 1:11:36Speaker 2: it's when you play those certain teams. Here's the 2-2.
- 1:11:42Speaker 2: Just downstairs for ball three. And right now, obviously the
- 1:11:47Speaker 2: Angels are still trying to find a new identity after
- 1:11:49Speaker 2: the trade deadline and trading seven players off their major
- 1:11:52Speaker 2: league roster. There's an infusement of a lot of young
- 1:11:55Speaker 2: talent here now. And the same thing can be said
- 1:11:58Speaker 2: for the Rockies. Payoff pitch. Swung on. Ripped to first.
- 1:12:03Speaker 2: Just foul. Just foul near the bell. So we'll do
- 1:12:09Speaker 2: it again on three and two. Now the Guardians have
- 1:12:15Speaker 2: done what they've needed to do on this road trip
- 1:12:19Speaker 2: so far. They'd won the final game of the homestand
- 1:12:21Speaker 2: against the Giants last Thursday. They're now trying to sweep
- 1:12:27Speaker 2: a road trip. And sweep the season series from the Angels.
- 1:12:33Speaker 2: It would be the fourth time that they have done
- 1:12:35Speaker 2: that in a series of five games or more. The
- 1:12:40Speaker 2: 3-2 swung on and that's lifted high in the air
- 1:12:43Speaker 2: but foul down the left side and out of play.
- 1:12:49Speaker 2: The Guardians swept the Angels in 2019, 2017, and 1994.
- 1:12:51Speaker 2: That doesn't happen often, that's for sure. Now the payoff pitch.
- 1:13:03Speaker 2: Swung on, and there's a high fly ball to dead center.
- 1:13:06Speaker 2: Settling under it, Teodosio, and he makes the catch shy
- 1:13:09Speaker 2: of the warning track. Now he's retired and low remains
- 1:13:13Speaker 2: at first base. Now with two down, with the Angels up,
- 1:13:16Speaker 2: 1-0 in this top half of the second inning. Austin
- 1:13:23Speaker 2: Hedges will step in. Playing in the shadow of his hometown,
- 1:13:29Speaker 2: San Juan Capistrano. Down the road heading towards San Diego
- 1:13:34Speaker 2: a little bit. And he's had mom and dad here
- 1:13:37Speaker 2: for a couple of the games. Saw him out yesterday
- 1:13:39Speaker 2: having a chat with everybody. What a year for Hedges
- 1:13:45Speaker 2: at the plate as Lowe draws a throw. That doesn't
- 1:13:48Speaker 2: happen very often. Austin Hedges batting 270, five homers, 21
- 1:13:54Speaker 2: runs batted in. Career batting average under 200 coming into
- 1:13:59Speaker 2: this season and has been a long career for Hedges.
- 1:14:02Speaker 2: More than a decade in the big leagues. Here's the
- 1:14:05Speaker 2: pitch to him. And he swings and lifts it to
- 1:14:08Speaker 2: shallow center. Coming on to Adosio. And he makes the catch.
- 1:14:12Speaker 2: The retire hedges and the Guardians in the second. After
- 1:14:15Speaker 2: an inning and a half, it's the Angels 1, the
- 1:14:18Speaker 2: Guardians nothing. Dollar Bank is a proud partner of the

- 1:16:05Speaker 1: Hey, it's Ron Verb, and my show is all about
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: the Valley after Guardians baseball on 570.
- 1:16:15Speaker 2: WKBN. 1-0, the Angels lead as Joey Cantillo takes the
- 1:16:18Speaker 2: mound in the bottom of the second for the Guardians,
- 1:16:20Speaker 2: facing Josh Lowe. Right fielder, left-handed batter, here's the pitch,
- 1:16:26Speaker 2: and it's upstairs for ball one. Lowe batting. 213 with
- 1:16:30Speaker 2: 10 home runs, 27 driven in. And to work through
- 1:16:35Speaker 2: some injury issues this season. Here's Cantillo's 1-0 delivery to Lowe.
- 1:16:45Speaker 2: Off speed again. Stays high for ball two. Now we
- 1:16:51Speaker 2: want to send out happy birthday wishes, belated birthday wishes,
- 1:16:56Speaker 2: to the best traveling secretary in baseball, Jared Jones. Next
- 1:17:02Speaker 2: pitch is down low for a ball. Jarrett Jones, birthday
- 1:17:05Speaker 2: number 33 today. And when you're from Indiana and you're 33,
- 1:17:10Speaker 2: that's the Larry Bird birthday. Kind of a big deal.
- 1:17:15Speaker 2: Larry Bird, number 33 for his tremendous career. There's a
- 1:17:21Speaker 2: pitch down low for a ball. Low draws a four-pitch
- 1:17:25Speaker 2: walk and a leadoff base runner. But J.J. celebrating his
- 1:17:29Speaker 2: birthday last night. And now rewarded with a travel day today.
- 1:17:34Speaker 6: Amen.
- 1:17:35Speaker 2: But it was at least nice of the boys to
- 1:17:37Speaker 2: reward his birthday with a very nice team-oriented victory. Get that.
- 1:17:42Speaker 27: Yes.
- 1:17:44Speaker 2: And now right back to work. Travel days are the
- 1:17:47Speaker 2: World Series days for the travel guys. If you want
- 1:17:50Speaker 2: to call it that. They have to be on their
- 1:17:53Speaker 2: game and JJ as good as anybody. Jenser Guzman steps in.
- 1:17:58Speaker 2: Takes a pitch outside and high for ball one. Now
- 1:18:07Speaker 2: the 1-0 from Joey Cantillo. Low and inside. 2-0 the count.
- 1:18:13Speaker 2: I don't know how those guys keep track of them
- 1:18:15Speaker 2: on a travel day.
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: I know.
- 1:18:16Speaker 3: I mean, I don't know how.
- 1:18:17Speaker 2: Many suitcases there are. JJ might have arguably the hardest
- 1:18:20Speaker 2: job of anybody in the entire organization. The amount of
- 1:18:25Speaker 2: jobs that he has underneath his umbrella of travel director.
- 1:18:29Speaker 2: The 2-0 outside.
- 1:18:33Speaker 29: 3-0.
- 1:18:36Speaker 2: Exponentially large amount of jobs that poor JJ has to do.
- 1:18:41Speaker 2: But like you said, he always does it with a smile.
- 1:18:43Speaker 2: He's more than happy to help. And unbelievable at his job.
- 1:18:49Speaker 2: Now the 3-0 pitch. On the outside corner for a strike. 3-1. Guzman.
- 1:19:01Speaker 2: Young third baseman. And again, the Angels undergoing roster turnover.
- 1:19:07Speaker 2: Trying to get younger. Full rebuild. The 3-1. Outside and
- 1:19:12Speaker 2: high for ball four. So back-to-back walks by Cantillo. And
- 1:19:18Speaker 2: with nobody out, that's runners at first and second for
- 1:19:21Speaker 2: the Angels. Out to the mound. Austin Hedges to have
- 1:19:26Speaker 2: a chat with him. Yeah, this is a good visit
- 1:19:27Speaker 2: here from Austin. Seven straight balls before Joey got a
- 1:19:31Speaker 2: strike in there to Guzman before that final ball four.
- 1:19:37Speaker 2: I think this group in the infield right now knows
- 1:19:39Speaker 2: how important it is for Joey to get it deep
- 1:19:41Speaker 2: into this ballgame as he possibly can. Again, hot, humid,
- 1:19:46Speaker 2: probably a little sweat on the hands. Maybe not the
- 1:19:49Speaker 2: best feel for the baseball, but they're going to have
- 1:19:51Speaker 2: to find a way this afternoon to get him through
- 1:19:54Speaker 2: at least, at the very least, five of these. You
- 1:19:58Speaker 2: would think that they have to get there somehow, some way. Hey,
- 1:20:03Speaker 2: the Guardians and PNC Bank are going to bat for
- 1:20:05Speaker 2: small business. Throughout the season, joined PNC Bank in honoring
- 1:20:09Speaker 2: six local businesses that could make a difference in the community.
- 1:20:14Speaker 2: Tyler Heinemann steps in. The pitch to him. He shows bunt,
- 1:20:19Speaker 2: pulls it back, takes it down low for a ball. Heinemann,
- 1:20:23Speaker 2: a nice pickup. And a cash deal with the Blue
- 1:20:26Speaker 2: Jays back in June. Veteran catcher. Played in 33 games
- 1:20:33Speaker 2: with the Jays this year. Right-handed batter, the pitch to him.
- 1:20:38Speaker 2: Shows bunt, pops it up behind the plate. Hedges is there,
- 1:20:41Speaker 2: and he makes the catch. In foul territory, Heinemann pops
- 1:20:46Speaker 2: out trying to bunt. Well, thank you very much. First
- 1:20:51Speaker 2: and foremost, that's an uneasy feeling. Your job there is
- 1:20:56Speaker 2: to get that ball put on the ground. Popped it
- 1:20:58Speaker 2: up just off. The dirt there at home plate, easy
- 1:21:02Speaker 2: play for Austin Hedges. And now, again, you hope that's
- 1:21:06Speaker 2: maybe that little break that Joey needs to find himself
- 1:21:10Speaker 2: back in the strike zone and cruise. Bryce Teodosio steps in,
- 1:21:14Speaker 2: and he takes a strike on the inside corner with
- 1:21:16Speaker 2: the curve. 1-0, Angels lead. And they are threatening here
- 1:21:21Speaker 2: in the second inning with two on, one out. And
- 1:21:24Speaker 2: their number nine hitter, Teodosio, just up from AAA Salt
- 1:21:28Speaker 2: Lake today. In the lineup, center field, but batting just
- 1:21:32Speaker 2: 198 in 34 big league games this year. Open stance
- 1:21:38Speaker 2: from that right side. And now Cantillo steps off. Off
- 1:21:54Speaker 2: day tomorrow for the Guardians. They're back at it Friday night.
- 1:21:58Speaker 2: opening up that 10-game homestand against Kansas City. Next pitch,
- 1:22:02Speaker 2: low and in for a ball. Royals for three, and
- 1:22:07Speaker 2: then an off day Monday. Blue Jays come in for three,
- 1:22:10Speaker 2: and then the Tigers for four on Labor Day weekend.
- 1:22:19Speaker 2: Now the 1-1. Curve ball missed outside, 2-1. So, command
- 1:22:23Speaker 2: and issue early.
- 1:22:26Speaker 5: Yes.
- 1:22:27Speaker 2: For Cantillo. Yeah, it has been. And again, when Joey's good,
- 1:22:33Speaker 2: he is in the strike zone early and often. And
- 1:22:35Speaker 2: I've said this multiple times. I still, to this day,
- 1:22:38Speaker 2: think he has the best pure stuff of any starter
- 1:22:41Speaker 2: on our staff. The 2-1. Herb Ball, strike on the
- 1:22:44Speaker 2: inside corner. And leaving it at 2-2. Sometimes when you
- 1:22:50Speaker 2: have stuff as nasty as Joey's, it can be very
- 1:22:53Speaker 2: difficult to To control on a daily basis. His last
- 1:22:57Speaker 2: start was in Colorado. You and I talked about this
- 1:22:59Speaker 2: before the game. First, the 2-2. Low and in, ball three.
- 1:23:06Speaker 2: About how his curveball was breaking four inches less up
- 1:23:10Speaker 2: in Colorado. So trying to find that arm spot, you know,
- 1:23:14Speaker 2: your release point for that pitch, getting that ball to
- 1:23:16Speaker 2: go or break the direction and the depth that you
- 1:23:19Speaker 2: want it to, to now coming here to sea level,
- 1:23:22Speaker 2: and it's hot and humid. Not an easy task to
- 1:23:25Speaker 2: need to find in-game that release point you need. And
- 1:23:29Speaker 2: that's where you feel for the Rockies pitchers because they
- 1:23:33Speaker 2: go through this all the time. For the Guardians, it's
- 1:23:35Speaker 2: once every other year. The 3-2 pitch. Low and in.
- 1:23:40Speaker 2: Ball four. A walk to Teodosio. And now they're loaded
- 1:23:44Speaker 2: up on walks with only one out. And arguably the
- 1:23:49Speaker 2: top hitter for the Angels, Zach Netto, coming in. Beto
- 1:23:56Speaker 2: at the top of the lineup, singled his first time up,
- 1:23:59Speaker 2: and he'll have to wait as pitching coach Carl Willis
- 1:24:02Speaker 2: is on his way to the mound to have a
- 1:24:03Speaker 2: chat with Joey Cantillo. Don't forget the September Guardians ballpark
- 1:24:09Speaker 2: pass presented by Planet Fitness is on sale now. Get
- 1:24:12Speaker 2: a standing room only ticket to all 13 September home games.
- 1:24:16Speaker 2: Just $ 59. Matchups in there against the White Sox and Tigers,
- 1:24:21Speaker 2: among others. Ballpark pass is available at CLEGuardians.com. Another mound
- 1:24:29Speaker 2: meeting complete as Willis heads back to the dugout. Four
- 1:24:37Speaker 2: walks already in the game for Cantillo. Three this inning.
- 1:24:44Speaker 2: And now Neto steps in. Long set. Here's the pitch.
- 1:24:53Speaker 2: Outside and high for ball one. Josh Lowe, the base
- 1:24:58Speaker 2: runner at third. Denzer Guzman is out at second. And
- 1:25:02Speaker 2: Bryce Teodosio is on at first. 1-0 Angels already. Here's
- 1:25:07Speaker 2: the pitch. And it's outside and high. Ball two. Antillo
- 1:25:18Speaker 2: battling those command issues early. Trying to settle in in
- 1:25:23Speaker 2: a hurry. Here's his pitch. Swung on. A chopper foul
- 1:25:27Speaker 2: outside of third. So 2-1 the count. Zach Netto out
- 1:25:38Speaker 2: of Campbell University in Buies Creek, North Carolina. He's from Miami,
- 1:25:45Speaker 2: but said none of the Florida schools recruited him when
- 1:25:49Speaker 2: it was time to go to school and play college ball.
- 1:25:53Speaker 2: Here's the 2-1. And it was inside. Did it hit him? Yes,
- 1:25:57Speaker 2: it did. It clipped Netto on the way by in
- 1:26:00Speaker 2: the knee. So he's hit by a pitch that forces
- 1:26:04Speaker 2: in a run from third, and it's 2-0 Angels. Josh
- 1:26:09Speaker 2: Lowe comes down the line from third. Netto heads to
- 1:26:13Speaker 2: first with his 64th run batted in. Base is still loaded,
- 1:26:18Speaker 2: still only one out. It looked like this ball got
- 1:26:24Speaker 2: Zach Netto on the back knee, just grazed that back knee.
- 1:26:31Speaker 2: Now again, Joey Cantillo needed a ground ball here against
- 1:26:34Speaker 2: Mike Trout in the worst kind of way. Trout looks
- 1:26:37Speaker 2: at an off-speed pitch outside for ball one. Very few
- 1:26:42Speaker 2: fastballs so far today from Cantillo, and Sometimes he'll use
- 1:26:47Speaker 2: that a little bit more often than you would think
- 1:26:48Speaker 2: to take hitters off the breaking stuff. There's a swing
- 1:26:51Speaker 2: and a line drive to center. Coming on, making the
- 1:26:54Speaker 2: catch is Stephen Kwan. Tagging, heading for home and scoring,
- 1:26:58Speaker 2: standing up is Guzman. The throw came into second. Teodosio
- 1:27:02Speaker 2: got back there. But the sack fly by Mike Trout
- 1:27:05Speaker 2: plates another run for the Angels. And it's now a
- 1:27:08Speaker 2: 3-0 Angel lead. Well, this is just a good job
- 1:27:12Speaker 2: by Mike Trout. Not trying to do too much. Stay
- 1:27:14Speaker 2: to the big part of the field. Get it out
- 1:27:15Speaker 2: there just deep enough. Stephen Kwan realizing as he's running
- 1:27:20Speaker 2: in to catch this ball because the play is right
- 1:27:23Speaker 2: in front of him. The runner at second base initially
- 1:27:25Speaker 2: broke to third. Thought about trying that ball out at
- 1:27:29Speaker 2: second base. Vaughn Grissom steps in. He takes a pitch
- 1:27:33Speaker 2: low and in for ball one.
- 1:27:36Speaker 3: Grissom.
- 1:27:38Speaker 2: Reached on an infield single. There was a throwing error
- 1:27:41Speaker 2: on the play, and the Angels' first run came around
- 1:27:44Speaker 2: to score back in that first inning. Here's the 1-0.
- 1:27:50Speaker 2: Swung on, and that's lifted high in the air to right.
- 1:27:53Speaker 2: Settling under it, Joe Adele. And the right fielder makes
- 1:27:56Speaker 2: the catch. Side retired, but the Angels had a pair
- 1:27:59Speaker 2: of runs, and we'll head to the third. It's Los
- 1:28:02Speaker 2: Angeles 3, the Guardians nothing on the Cleveland Clinic Radio Network.
- 1:28:06Speaker 30: Give your home an inter.
- 1:28:07Speaker 1: It's Ron Ferb, and I've got opinions you'll want to
- 1:28:10Speaker 1: hear after Guardians Baseball on 570 WKBN.
- 1:28:13Speaker 2: 3-0 Angels as we hit the third inning. And it
- 1:28:25Speaker 2: is the Hyundai Grand Slam giveaway inning of a Guardians hitter.
- 1:28:30Speaker 2: Blast a Grand Slam here in the third. Kerry Politsky
- 1:28:33Speaker 2: of Broadview Heights wins a Hyundai Kona courtesy of your
- 1:28:36Speaker 2: Northern Ohio Hyundai dealers. Visit HyundaiGrandSlam.com to enter. Brian Rocchio
- 1:28:42Speaker 2: will get it started for the Guardians. Number nine hitter.
- 1:28:46Speaker 2: Facing right-hander Grayson Rodriguez who fires a strike on the
- 1:28:50Speaker 2: outside corner. 0-1 the count on Rocchio. Rocchio batting. 247.
- 1:28:55Speaker 2: Ten homers, 54 driven in. Switch hitter left side. Rodriguez
- 1:29:02Speaker 2: fires away, and the off-speed pitch catches the outside corner
- 1:29:05Speaker 2: for a strike. Rodriguez right back to it, and it's
- 1:29:17Speaker 2: swung on and foul-tipped at home plate. Nice job there
- 1:29:21Speaker 2: by Brian Rocchio, just trying to be a little pesky.
- 1:29:25Speaker 2: That pitch was arguably too close to take, so good job.
- 1:29:30Speaker 2: Lives to see another day here. The 0-2. Swung on
- 1:29:34Speaker 2: and he lifts it high in the air to left.
- 1:29:37Speaker 2: Right there is Siri to make the catch. And there's
- 1:29:40Speaker 2: one gone here in the top half of the third.
- 1:29:43Speaker 2: Jim Rosenhouse along with Chris Jimenez this afternoon on loan
- 1:29:47Speaker 2: from Guardians TV. Tom Hamilton with the road trip off.
- 1:29:50Speaker 2: But Hammy will be back on Friday night when the
- 1:29:52Speaker 2: team returns home to take on the Royals. Big homestand
- 1:29:57Speaker 2: coming up. We have Mike Noto with us in the
- 1:29:59Speaker 2: booth here in Anaheim and back home at command center,
- 1:30:02Speaker 2: Brian Motze. Here's the pitch. Stephen Kwan takes it for
- 1:30:08Speaker 2: a strike on the outside corner. Kwan had another base
- 1:30:11Speaker 2: hit leading off the game today after a 5-for-5 night
- 1:30:15Speaker 2: last night. Here's the 0-1. Upstairs for a ball. 1-1.
- 1:30:21Speaker 2: I hope we're enjoying... Your late afternoon back home. Maybe
- 1:30:27Speaker 2: you're in the car driving home from work and have
- 1:30:30Speaker 2: the game on. Here's the 1-1. Down low, 2-1. Bright
- 1:30:35Speaker 2: sunny day here in Anaheim with our game time temperature
- 1:30:39Speaker 2: of 92 and it's up to 94 now. I believe it.
- 1:30:45Speaker 2: We might get triple digits today. Well, I did see
- 1:30:48Speaker 2: on the news this morning that was a possibility. The 2-1.
- 1:30:51Speaker 2: Swung on and that's lifted foul and out of play
- 1:30:55Speaker 2: on the left. And again, very few fans are out
- 1:31:01Speaker 2: in the sunshine. There's a big upper deck here in
- 1:31:04Speaker 2: a second level, so some shade throughout the ballpark. The 2-2,
- 1:31:08Speaker 2: swung on, lined foul, left side out of play. And
- 1:31:11Speaker 2: everybody's tucked underneath. Nice play down there, too. A gentleman
- 1:31:17Speaker 2: with a barehanded jumping catch. That's a game on a
- 1:31:23Speaker 2: Wednesday afternoon. Absolutely. The 2-2. Swung on. There's a tapper
- 1:31:27Speaker 2: to the second baseman. Up with it more, and he
- 1:31:29Speaker 2: throws low. Ball bobbled, but they say that Grissom hung
- 1:31:33Speaker 2: on to it long enough for the out. So Kwon
- 1:31:37Speaker 2: has retired for the second out in the inning. And
- 1:31:41Speaker 2: that'll bring up Travis Pazana. Yeah, look. A lot of
- 1:31:46Speaker 2: the folks undercover here. Just a brave few getting that
- 1:31:54Speaker 2: That good, bright sunshine. We'll see how long they last
- 1:31:56Speaker 2: out there. And as Bazana steps in, here's the pitch.
- 1:32:01Speaker 2: And it's on the outside corner for a strike. I mean,
- 1:32:03Speaker 2: no lie. Chris, I think there's 12 people in the
- 1:32:09Speaker 2: bleachers and right? Yeah. The 1-0-1 pitch is swung on
- 1:32:14Speaker 2: and missed. It's 0-2. I kind of imagine that is
- 1:32:18Speaker 2: about The hottest place on earth right now. Those bleachers.
- 1:32:24Speaker 2: It looks like tinfoil out there. It does. And the
- 1:32:29Speaker 2: sun just radiating off those poor seats.
- 1:32:32Speaker 3: Yes.
- 1:32:36Speaker 2: Now the 0-2 pitch from Grayson Rodriguez. Breaking ball down low.
- 1:32:44Speaker 2: Checked his swing. It's been that kind of road trip
- 1:32:47Speaker 2: that The strength and conditioning staff, the training crew, it
- 1:32:52Speaker 2: has been all about hydration and everything else that they
- 1:32:55Speaker 2: do to keep these guys going in a good direction
- 1:32:58Speaker 2: when it's hot. Here's the pitch, and it's swung on,
- 1:33:00Speaker 2: fouled back. Yeah, they certainly made their money this trip
- 1:33:04Speaker 2: for sure. And again, I was talking with Tanner Bybee
- 1:33:07Speaker 2: the other day about that specific thing, it being the
- 1:33:09Speaker 2: first time he pitched in Colorado, and just asked him
- 1:33:12Speaker 2: if he felt a noticeable difference, and he said he
- 1:33:14Speaker 2: was absolutely blown away. with how much of a difference
- 1:33:18Speaker 2: he felt being at altitude. There's the one-two. Swung on.
- 1:33:23Speaker 2: Ground ball. First base. Fair ball. Diving stop. Grissom. Backhand.
- 1:33:27Speaker 2: Toss to first. Not in time. Safe at first is
- 1:33:30Speaker 2: Bazzano with an infield single despite a great effort from
- 1:33:34Speaker 2: the first baseman, Vaughn Grissom. Well, that was a great effort.
- 1:33:38Speaker 2: He smothered that baseball, rolled around, and as he rolled,
- 1:33:42Speaker 2: tried to get up and shovel that ball to a
- 1:33:45Speaker 2: Grayson Rodriguez. The ball shoveled. His glasses actually came off
- 1:33:51Speaker 2: of his hat, and he threw those and the ball
- 1:33:53Speaker 2: at the same time. I saw something go flying. I
- 1:33:56Speaker 2: was wondering what it was. We had a chance to
- 1:33:58Speaker 2: see it here on the replay. Fortunately, he may need
- 1:34:02Speaker 2: to wipe those off before he puts them back on
- 1:34:04Speaker 2: his hat. Rodriguez must have been wondering, what is going on? Well,
- 1:34:12Speaker 2: Bazana at first. Two-out baserunner for the Guardians. They trail 3-0.
- 1:34:18Speaker 2: Angels with three runs on just two hits. No runs,
- 1:34:23Speaker 2: four hits for the Guardians. Here's the pitch. And it's
- 1:34:26Speaker 2: down low for ball one. Jose Ramirez, the batter, a
- 1:34:30Speaker 2: single his first time up. Building off the big night
- 1:34:34Speaker 2: last night when he had the three doubles and five
- 1:34:36Speaker 2: runs batted in. The pitch to him. Outside for a ball.
- 1:34:43Speaker 2: 2-0 the count on Jose. I'm sure Jose would love
- 1:34:51Speaker 2: to find his way on right now with Joe Adele
- 1:34:53Speaker 2: on deck. You just feel like Joe's kind of waiting
- 1:34:56Speaker 2: for that signature welcome home moment. The 2-0 swung on
- 1:35:00Speaker 2: line and it hit Bazana. The line drive hits Bazana,
- 1:35:05Speaker 2: so the inning is over. Another line drive for Jose Ramirez,
- 1:35:10Speaker 2: ticketed for right field. But with Bazana at first, he
- 1:35:14Speaker 2: started making that move to second and got smoked with
- 1:35:17Speaker 2: that line drive. It looks like he's okay. The side
- 1:35:22Speaker 2: is retired, and we'll head to the bottom of the third.
- 1:35:24Speaker 2: Anaheim in Anaheim to score the Angels three, the Guardians nothing.
- 1:35:31Speaker 2: Check engine or ABS light on?
- 1:35:33Speaker 16: Take the guesswork out of your warning lights with O'Reilly Veriscan.
- 1:35:37Speaker 2: It's free. Ask for O'Reilly Veriscan.
- 1:35:39Speaker 11: Oh, oh, oh, O'Reilly.

- 1:35:48Speaker 2: Like maybe you ride a motorcycle. But today, it's raining.
- 1:35:52Speaker 2: So you wish you had an RV.
- 1:35:54Speaker 31: But if you did, you'd have to listen to some
- 1:35:55Speaker 31: guy park next to a campsite plays acoustic guitar. Now,
- 1:35:59Speaker 31: before you start wishing you had a boat, remember, your
- 1:36:02Speaker 31: brother-in-law would invite himself every weekend.
- 1:36:04Speaker 2: Permission to come aboard, Captain?

- 1:37:16Speaker 2: Hey, it's Ron Furb.
- 1:37:17Speaker 1: I'm not holding back, ever, after Guardians Baseball on 570 WKBN.
- 1:37:26Speaker 2: Bottom of the third inning underway. Joey Cantillo fires to
- 1:37:29Speaker 2: Christian Moore, who swings and misses for strike one. Moore
- 1:37:33Speaker 2: walked his first time up. 1-1 the count on him. 3-0,
- 1:37:38Speaker 2: Angels lead. As Cantillo delivers the 1-1. Breaking ball in
- 1:37:44Speaker 2: there for a strike. Fast inning ended on a line
- 1:37:48Speaker 2: drive off the bat of Jose Ramirez that hit the
- 1:37:50Speaker 2: base runner, Travis Buzana. So Ramirez gets credit for a single.
- 1:37:55Speaker 2: He's now two for two. And because Buzana's out, the
- 1:37:59Speaker 2: out is reported unassisted by the second baseman. Here's the 1-2.
- 1:38:05Speaker 2: In tight, 2-2. And Buzana stays in the game at second.
- 1:38:10Speaker 2: He was drilled. Yes, he was. Near the ribs, maybe? No,
- 1:38:13Speaker 2: I think that actually got his arm, his right arm.
- 1:38:18Speaker 2: Now the 2-2, upstairs for a ball, 3-2. Cantillo, he's
- 1:38:24Speaker 2: really had command issues here today. Four walks already, as
- 1:38:28Speaker 2: well as a hit batsman, and that forced in a
- 1:38:30Speaker 2: run last inning. Here's his payoff pitch. Swung on, foul back,
- 1:38:37Speaker 2: and out of play, straight back. He'll do it again
- 1:38:40Speaker 2: on 3-2. Well, if Joey can find a way to
- 1:38:43Speaker 2: keep the game score as it is, we saw the
- 1:38:47Speaker 2: bullpen for Anaheim get worked up. Overly aggressively yesterday night.
- 1:38:52Speaker 2: You hope this offense has got another comeback. The 3-2
- 1:38:57Speaker 2: down low. Ball four. More walks for the second time.
- 1:39:03Speaker 2: The Angels, they did make the move to add an
- 1:39:06Speaker 2: arm to their bullpen before the game. The Guardians did not.
- 1:39:09Speaker 2: They'll try to make it through here today. Up to
- 1:39:14Speaker 2: the plate for Los Angeles, Jose Siri. He struck out
- 1:39:17Speaker 2: his first time up. Hey, don't forget, coming up Sunday,
- 1:39:20Speaker 2: it's the final Kids Fun Day of the summer, Guardians
- 1:39:23Speaker 2: and Royals. Get to the ballpark early, all kinds of
- 1:39:26Speaker 2: fun activities, and postgame, kids run the bases. The pitch
- 1:39:31Speaker 2: to Siri is swung on and missed for strike one.
- 1:39:34Speaker 2: That's presented by Cleveland Clinic. Get your tickets at cleguardians.com.
- 1:39:44Speaker 2: Moore with a leadoff walk. Off the bag at first.
- 1:39:48Speaker 2: Here's the pitch. And Siri takes it on the inside corner.
- 1:39:51Speaker 2: Strike two call. There was a good fastball. We haven't
- 1:39:56Speaker 2: seen many fastballs so far. No, we haven't. But I
- 1:39:59Speaker 2: have seen Joey wipe his hand off on his pants
- 1:40:02Speaker 2: about six times. The 2-0 curve just missed outside. And again,
- 1:40:08Speaker 2: I know the humidity out here, which is not something
- 1:40:11Speaker 2: you're used to on the coast. But you've got to
- 1:40:14Speaker 2: feel like that's giving him fits with holding on to
- 1:40:17Speaker 2: the baseball. Here's the one-two. Swung on. Ground ball to short.
- 1:40:23Speaker 2: Rocio to the back for one. Bazana the first. Double play.
- 1:40:29Speaker 2: Nicely turned around the bag by the Guardians.
- 1:40:32Speaker 1: 6-4-3.
- 1:40:32Speaker 2: Well, that was an outstanding job by Joey. Getting that
- 1:40:36Speaker 2: ball put on the ground. A little two-for-one action right there.
- 1:40:39Speaker 2: You love that. Now if he can just find a
- 1:40:42Speaker 2: way to get strike one and then try to expand
- 1:40:46Speaker 2: from there. Go in the heart of the plate. It's
- 1:40:48Speaker 2: okay to do that early in the count. Nothing he
- 1:40:51Speaker 2: throws is straight, so everything he throws moves. So if
- 1:40:54Speaker 2: you aim middle, give yourself the best room for error.
- 1:40:58Speaker 2: Josh Lowe, the batter, takes a pitch low and outside.
- 1:41:01Speaker 2: It's 3-0 Angels, bottom of the third. Here's Cantillo's 1-0 pitch.
- 1:41:11Speaker 2: To the veteran, Josh Lowe. Swung on and popped him up.
- 1:41:15Speaker 2: High in the air on the infield, battling the sun. Rocchio,
- 1:41:19Speaker 2: and he makes the catch. Side retired. We head to
- 1:41:22Speaker 2: the fourth. It's the Angels 3, the Guardians nothing on
- 1:41:26Speaker 2: the Cleveland Clinic radio network. Hi, this is Dan Rivers.
- 1:41:30Speaker 2: Every afternoon at 3 on 570 WKBN. Guardians trailing 3-0
- 1:41:39Speaker 2: as Joe Adele will lead things off in the fourth
- 1:41:41Speaker 2: inning for Cleveland. Adele bounced into a double play his
- 1:41:45Speaker 2: first time up. He is one for nine here in
- 1:41:48Speaker 2: his return to Anaheim. And I mean everybody here speaking
- 1:41:54Speaker 2: so highly of Joe Adele's time with the Angels as
- 1:41:56Speaker 2: he takes a pitch in tight from Grayson Rodriguez. I
- 1:41:59Speaker 2: mean from the elevator operators to the guys down at
- 1:42:03Speaker 2: guarding the door downstairs by the clubhouse. They loved him.
- 1:42:06Speaker 2: They certainly love him. There's still a couple of Joe
- 1:42:08Speaker 2: Adele giveaways. The 0-1, swung on, chopped to short. Up
- 1:42:11Speaker 2: with it. Netto throws to first in time. Next homestand,
- 1:42:17Speaker 2: I believe, there'll be a jersey giveaway. There's also a
- 1:42:19Speaker 2: bobblehead still of Joe that they're going to continue to
- 1:42:22Speaker 2: give away. So I think that shows, you know, what
- 1:42:24Speaker 2: he meant to this organization. Now the other acquisition at
- 1:42:30Speaker 2: the trade deadline, Nathaniel Lowe will step to the plate.
- 1:42:33Speaker 2: He singled his first time up. one of the others,
- 1:42:37Speaker 2: I should say. Here's the pitch, and it's on the
- 1:42:42Speaker 2: outside corner for a strike. 3-0, Guardians trailing. Trying to
- 1:42:47Speaker 2: get something going offensively here against Grayson Rodriguez, who's coming
- 1:42:51Speaker 2: off a strong effort in a win over Houston his
- 1:42:55Speaker 2: last time out. Did not allow an earned run in
- 1:42:59Speaker 2: seven innings against the Astros. Here comes his 0-1. Swung on,
- 1:43:07Speaker 2: fouled away. Third base side. Let's pause. Ten seconds. Station
- 1:43:10Speaker 2: ID on the Cleveland Clinic Radio Network.
- 1:43:13Speaker 6: From the Money Talks investment coach, John Arnold Studios, this
- 1:43:18Speaker 6: is 570 WKBN Youngstown, an iHeartRadio station guaranteed human.
- 1:43:23Speaker 2: The 0-2 to Nathaniel Lowe is swung on and missed.
- 1:43:28Speaker 2: Strike three. Lowe down on strikes. Two quick outs for
- 1:43:32Speaker 2: Grayson Rodriguez in the top half of the fourth inning.
- 1:43:36Speaker 2: As he records his second strikeout. And with the bases empty,
- 1:43:39Speaker 2: here comes Angel Martinez, who flied to center his first
- 1:43:43Speaker 2: time up. Rodriguez delivers. And his pitch is on the
- 1:43:51Speaker 2: outside corner for a strike. Jim Rosenhouse along with Chris
- 1:43:54Speaker 2: Jimenez this afternoon with Mike Nodo, our on-site engineer, and
- 1:43:58Speaker 2: Brian Motze back at command center on a hot day
- 1:44:03Speaker 2: in Anaheim. 94 degrees and climbing with bright sunshine. Here's
- 1:44:10Speaker 2: the 0-1. Inside it hit him. Down goes Martinez in
- 1:44:16Speaker 2: that left side batter's box. And he is slow to
- 1:44:20Speaker 2: get up. If I'm not mistaken, he's been hit on
- 1:44:24Speaker 2: that back leg before and was actually wearing a guard
- 1:44:29Speaker 2: on his back knee at one point during the season.
- 1:44:33Speaker 2: This is a slider that it was a heat seeker. Oh, man,
- 1:44:37Speaker 2: right on the shin of his back leg, just to
- 1:44:42Speaker 2: the inside of the calf. That could not have felt good. Well,
- 1:44:48Speaker 2: he makes it down to first base. He'll stay in
- 1:44:50Speaker 2: the game for now as Angel Hanau steps in. Switch
- 1:44:55Speaker 2: hitting third baseman today for the Guardians. Fly to center,
- 1:44:59Speaker 2: first time up. Guardians trailing 3-0. Trying to chip away
- 1:45:04Speaker 2: here at Grayson Rodriguez, who fires a breaking ball strike
- 1:45:07Speaker 2: on the outside corner. Well, we've seen Grayson Rodriguez be
- 1:45:14Speaker 2: very aggressive early in the count. Forcing fastballs. Next pitch
- 1:45:20Speaker 2: to Martinez. Or, excuse me, Henao is outside for a ball.
- 1:45:25Speaker 2: But he's mixed in some sliders early in the count
- 1:45:27Speaker 2: as well. But with a three-run lead... You love to
- 1:45:31Speaker 2: see how aggressive he's being in the strike zone. That's
- 1:45:34Speaker 2: kind of that thought process Joey can take. Here's the 1-1.
- 1:45:40Speaker 2: Outside and low, 2-1. Guardians came into play today back
- 1:45:48Speaker 2: over the 500 mark at 67-66. Currently hold the third
- 1:45:50Speaker 2: and final wild card spot. The 2-1. Swung on. Ground
- 1:46:01Speaker 2: ball up the middle and a base hit in the center.
- 1:46:03Speaker 2: Speeding around second. On his way to third is Martinez.
- 1:46:07Speaker 2: And Angel Henao with another sharp base hit up the middle.
- 1:46:11Speaker 2: Guardians have runners on the corners with two down. Well, again,
- 1:46:15Speaker 2: another excellent swing by Angel Henao. Just a laser beam
- 1:46:20Speaker 2: up the middle. Got a pitch to his liking up
- 1:46:23Speaker 2: and out over the plate. Put a good smooth swing
- 1:46:25Speaker 2: on it. And Angel Martinez... That's about as easy of
- 1:46:29Speaker 2: a first to third as you can ask for right there.
- 1:46:31Speaker 2: And now let's see if we can't get a little
- 1:46:34Speaker 2: something cooking here with Austin Hedges coming up in two outs.
- 1:46:37Speaker 2: Meeting at the mound as the catcher Heinemann went out.
- 1:46:41Speaker 2: Don't forget, Marathon knows that fans are the true co-pilot
- 1:46:44Speaker 2: of any team. Marathon is here to keep you and
- 1:46:47Speaker 2: your team fueled up all summer long. Marathon driven together.
- 1:46:53Speaker 2: Guardians down 3-0, but an opportunity here in the 4th.
- 1:46:57Speaker 2: With runners on the corners, two outs, and Austin hedges
- 1:47:01Speaker 2: the batter. Hedges, fly to center his first time up.
- 1:47:07Speaker 2: Here's the pitch to him. Down low, ball one. Manager
- 1:47:13Speaker 2: Steven Vogt giving Austin Hedges a lot of credit for
- 1:47:17Speaker 2: keeping this team's mindset positive when they were going through
- 1:47:21Speaker 2: some tough stretches in the month of June. Kind of
- 1:47:26Speaker 2: on the fringes of the postseason picture for a while.
- 1:47:29Speaker 2: Here's the 1-0. Breaking ball. Outside.
- 1:47:32Speaker 33: 1-1.
- 1:47:33Speaker 2: You said Edgy just keeps reinforcing that by the time
- 1:47:38Speaker 2: it's all said and done, they're going to be at
- 1:47:39Speaker 2: the top of the division and in the postseason. And
- 1:47:41Speaker 2: you've got to have that positive mentality always. There's always
- 1:47:47Speaker 2: one guy in the clubhouse that can keep it. The 2-0.
- 1:47:51Speaker 2: There's a strike on the inside corner. And Hedgie's that
- 1:47:54Speaker 2: guy that's just continually positive. But I think he's honest positive, too.
- 1:48:00Speaker 2: There's certain times when it's okay as the team leader,
- 1:48:03Speaker 2: the team morale guy, to get in someone's face and
- 1:48:06Speaker 2: say the things that need to be said, have those
- 1:48:08Speaker 2: tough conversations. The 2-1. Strike two called at the top
- 1:48:14Speaker 2: of the zone, and now it's 2-2 on Austin Hedges.
- 1:48:20Speaker 2: But the one thing Austin Hedges has not done is
- 1:48:24Speaker 2: wavered in his thought process and his love and ability
- 1:48:28Speaker 2: to keep this group together. 2-2 the count on him.
- 1:48:33Speaker 2: Here's the pitch. Swung on, fouled off at home plate.
- 1:48:37Speaker 2: He'll do it again on 2-2 to Hedges. More than
- 1:48:43Speaker 2: 10 years in the major leagues for Austin Hedges. And
- 1:48:47Speaker 2: that includes a season where he won a World Series
- 1:48:49Speaker 2: title with Texas, 2023. Trying to get back there with Cleveland.
- 1:48:58Speaker 2: Time call, just as it was close to a pitch
- 1:49:02Speaker 2: clock violation. Well, Tyler Heinemann was the one to call
- 1:49:08Speaker 2: that timeout, obviously realizing... that Grayson Rodriguez was not ready
- 1:49:12Speaker 2: to throw a pitch with that pitch clock down to
- 1:49:15Speaker 2: one second. Here's the 2-2. Strike three called on the
- 1:49:23Speaker 2: outside corner. Hedges caught looking. Side retired. Guardians strand a pair,
- 1:49:28Speaker 2: and we head to the bottom of the fourth. It's
- 1:49:30Speaker 2: the Angels three, the Guardians nothing.

- 1:50:09Speaker 17: Truck started slow.
- 1:50:10Speaker 22: Battery might be toast.
- 1:50:11Speaker 5: Slow starts are the first sign of heat damage to
- 1:50:13Speaker 5: your battery.

- 1:50:40Speaker 2: Rick, it's your mortgage loan officer, Beth.
- 1:50:43Speaker 25: I was in the neighborhood and wanted to let you
- 1:50:44Speaker 25: know your home loan application's been approved.
- 1:50:47Speaker 33: Beth, you're always there for me and not a moment
- 1:50:49Speaker 33: too soon.
- 1:50:50Speaker 2: Are your neighbors bowling with grand pianos again?
- 1:50:52Speaker 33: And apparently raising livestock?
- 1:50:55Speaker 27: Ew.
- 1:50:56Speaker 34: For every financial need, we'll meet you in the moment.
- 1:50:58Speaker 34: KeyBank opens doors. Equal housing lender. NMLS number 399797.
- 1:51:04Speaker 2: Swung on, there's a high fly ball. Launched to right field.
- 1:51:08Speaker 2: Home run, Jose Ramirez. This is Jim Rosenhouse, and you
- 1:51:13Speaker 2: are listening to the Cleveland Clinic Guardians Radio Network. Restrictions apply.
- 1:51:19Speaker 1: Hey, it's Ron Verb, and I'll be bringing the heat
- 1:51:21Speaker 1: every afternoon at.
- 1:51:22Speaker 3: 3 on 570 WKBN.
- 1:51:31Speaker 2: Joey Cantillo to face the bottom third of the Angels lineup.
- 1:51:35Speaker 2: As we head to the bottom of the fourth inning,
- 1:51:36Speaker 2: it's 3-0 Los Angeles. And Desmar Guzman will lead things off.
- 1:51:42Speaker 2: Pitch to Guzman, that's low and in for a ball. Cantillo,
- 1:51:47Speaker 2: he allowed a run in the first on his own
- 1:51:50Speaker 2: throwing error. Here comes his 1-0 to Guzman. And Cantillo
- 1:51:57Speaker 2: hung on to it, did not make the pitch. Have
- 1:52:00Speaker 2: he caught a spike on the mound? That'll go as
- 1:52:03Speaker 2: a pitch clock violation. I think he did catch a spike. Oh,
- 1:52:11Speaker 2: you see that? It could have been terrifying. I mean,
- 1:52:15Speaker 2: any time a pitcher has to shut down a windup
- 1:52:18Speaker 2: like that, certainly scary. The 2-0. Outside and high for
- 1:52:26Speaker 2: ball three. And the walks really hurt. In the second inning,
- 1:52:31Speaker 2: he walked three in the inning, hit a batter, and
- 1:52:33Speaker 2: two runs scored. And that's where we stand, 3-0 Angels.
- 1:52:39Speaker 2: The 3-0, way outside, ball four, and that already where
- 1:52:45Speaker 2: Joey Cantillo is walk number six. Leadoff walk here in
- 1:52:55Speaker 2: the fourth. Tyler Heineman will step in. He tried to bunt.
- 1:53:00Speaker 2: Back in the second inning, it popped out to the catcher,
- 1:53:03Speaker 2: Austin Hedges, and foul ground. Here's the pitch, and Heinemann
- 1:53:09Speaker 2: takes a strike on the outside corner. Kind of an
- 1:53:12Speaker 2: odd line score right now. Three runs, only two hits,
- 1:53:17Speaker 2: and no errors for the Angels. Guardians, no runs, six hits,
- 1:53:22Speaker 2: and an error. There's Cantillo's 0-1. Swung on, yanked foul
- 1:53:31Speaker 2: outside of third. 0-2 the count. Tyler Heinemann. Again, picked
- 1:53:38Speaker 2: up from the Blue Jays in mid-June. He actually caught
- 1:53:43Speaker 2: two of the three games we played in Toronto earlier
- 1:53:46Speaker 2: on this season. First start in this series. Here's the 0-2.
- 1:53:57Speaker 2: Off speed, down low. Heinemann. Been around a long time
- 1:54:07Speaker 2: as he was drafted back in 2012 by the Astros
- 1:54:12Speaker 2: out of UCLA. The one-two swung on and he lines
- 1:54:17Speaker 2: one to right, but moving over, making the catch is
- 1:54:21Speaker 2: Joe Adele. One away. And here comes the youngster, Bryce Teodosio.
- 1:54:31Speaker 2: Just back up from the minor leagues today, and that's
- 1:54:33Speaker 2: Salt Lake in the farm system for the Angels. Salt
- 1:54:39Speaker 2: Lake City, you hear them every once in a while
- 1:54:41Speaker 2: as a potential expansion team. Expansion City. I've heard that
- 1:54:46Speaker 2: name bounded about multiple times. Think it'd be a great place.
- 1:54:50Speaker 2: Here's the pitch, and it's swung on, popped up. First
- 1:54:53Speaker 2: base side, foul ground in the box, making the catches low.
- 1:54:58Speaker 2: Would that work, do you think? I think it would.
- 1:55:00Speaker 2: I mean, it is a beautiful place. You're going to
- 1:55:03Speaker 2: find it's probably very similar to what Denver is in
- 1:55:07Speaker 2: Colorado for the Rockies and how they play. There's some
- 1:55:09Speaker 2: elevation there. There's some weather that you may have to
- 1:55:12Speaker 2: deal with as well, but the views are to die
- 1:55:16Speaker 2: for and a great fan base up there. Top of
- 1:55:20Speaker 2: the lineup, Zach Netto, the batter. Cantillo delivers, and it's
- 1:55:24Speaker 2: swung on and missed, strike one. Boy, it sure seems
- 1:55:31Speaker 2: like the next round of expansion coming after everything's squared
- 1:55:34Speaker 2: away on the labor front. Yeah, I would have to imagine.
- 1:55:36Speaker 2: There's a few things that these two sides need to
- 1:55:38Speaker 2: get ironed out before that happens. Here's the 0-1 on
- 1:55:42Speaker 2: the inside corner. Strike two called. And it certainly seems
- 1:55:49Speaker 2: like Nashville is a shoo-in to be one of the cities.
- 1:55:52Speaker 2: And if they expand by two... They have been talking
- 1:55:55Speaker 2: about Nashville for, it seems like, the last 20-plus years.
- 1:55:59Speaker 2: Funny enough, I've heard Oakland's name being thrown around in that,
- 1:56:02Speaker 2: and I'm like, wait a minute. How is that considered
- 1:56:04Speaker 2: an expansion team? Throw to first. Back safely is Guzman.
- 1:56:12Speaker 2: They go one near the east with Nashville taking care
- 1:56:18Speaker 2: of that. I think they'd want to balance it with
- 1:56:20Speaker 2: one out west and We'll see. Here's the pitch. Swung
- 1:56:26Speaker 2: on and tapper foul at home plate. 0-2 the count
- 1:56:31Speaker 2: on Zach Netto, who has singled and driven in a
- 1:56:34Speaker 2: run when he was hit by a pitch and was
- 1:56:36Speaker 2: back in the second inning. I suppose if you're going
- 1:56:39Speaker 2: to get hit by a pitch, having an RBI come
- 1:56:42Speaker 2: along with that is probably the only thing that makes
- 1:56:45Speaker 2: that feel better. Cantillo. From the stretch. Here's his pitch.
- 1:56:56Speaker 2: Swung on. Blasted foul. Upper deck over on the first
- 1:56:59Speaker 2: base side. We'll do it again on 0-2 to Netto.
- 1:57:07Speaker 2: I don't know if you've seen some of the realignment
- 1:57:10Speaker 2: possibilities as well if there is expansion. The 0-2. Just
- 1:57:16Speaker 2: a bit outside.
- 1:57:16Speaker 5: 1-2.
- 1:57:16Speaker 2: I mean, it sounds like they're going to blow the
- 1:57:21Speaker 2: whole thing up and start over. It's kind of what
- 1:57:22Speaker 2: it sounds like, yeah. And make maybe more regional type divisions.
- 1:57:27Speaker 2: If they can make them more regional. Here's the pitch.
- 1:57:31Speaker 2: There goes the runner. And the pitch is popped up
- 1:57:33Speaker 2: on the infield. Settling under it. Rocio. And he makes
- 1:57:37Speaker 2: the catch. The shortstop does. To retire Netto. And the
- 1:57:41Speaker 2: Angels in the fourth. Four complete in Anaheim. It's the
- 1:57:46Speaker 2: Angels three. The Guardians nothing.
- 1:57:50Speaker 1: Hey, it's Ron Verb, and I'll be bringing the heat
- 1:57:52Speaker 1: every afternoon at 3 on 570 WKBN.
- 1:58:00Speaker 2: Fifth inning, Brian Rocchio to lead things off for the Guardians,
- 1:58:03Speaker 2: and he takes strike one on the outside corner. Facing
- 1:58:07Speaker 2: Grayson Rodriguez, who has thrown the ball well. a second
- 1:58:10Speaker 2: straight start where he has been awfully tough on the opposition.
- 1:58:14Speaker 2: Next pitch to Rocchio, line down the right side, foul.
- 1:58:20Speaker 2: Just going foul, too. Boy, that would have been a
- 1:58:23Speaker 2: nice start to this inning. Guardians down by three and
- 1:58:26Speaker 2: really haven't gotten much going. Against Rodriguez. Well, they've had opportunities.
- 1:58:37Speaker 2: Just once again, that kind of big hit with runners
- 1:58:40Speaker 2: in scoring position eluding them. Here's the 0-2. Swung on,
- 1:58:45Speaker 2: and that's line to left center. Sinking fast. Coming over,
- 1:58:49Speaker 2: making the catch. And then dropping it is Siri. And
- 1:58:53Speaker 2: in the second goes Rocchio. Boy, it looked like Siri
- 1:58:58Speaker 2: was going to make a circus catch, but he couldn't
- 1:59:00Speaker 2: hang on. He was full-out Superman style, and I do
- 1:59:04Speaker 2: believe that ball just hit off of his thumb and
- 1:59:07Speaker 2: kind of rattled around in his glove a little bit there.
- 1:59:10Speaker 2: It did just hit right off the thumb. And he
- 1:59:15Speaker 2: had to go a long way to get leather on
- 1:59:18Speaker 2: that ball, but here we are. Brian Rocchio finding himself
- 1:59:22Speaker 2: with a lead-off double in the fifth. Double number 19
- 1:59:27Speaker 2: for Rocchio. Now Stephen Kwan at the plate. Here's the pitch.
- 1:59:32Speaker 2: And Rodriguez fires a strike on the outside corner. 95
- 1:59:36Speaker 2: on the fastball that time. Again, his last start, Houston.
- 1:59:42Speaker 2: Two unearned runs he allowed in seven innings. The pitch
- 1:59:47Speaker 2: to Kwan. Swung on, yanked foul outside of first. Guardians
- 1:59:52Speaker 2: have seen him before, twice with Baltimore. He was 1-0,
- 1:59:56Speaker 2: an earned run average of 3.00. Last year, shoulder woes,
- 2:00:04Speaker 2: elbow issue, and he missed the entire season. Here's the 0-2.
- 2:00:12Speaker 2: Swung on, chopped back over the mound. The shortstop charging Netto.
- 2:00:16Speaker 2: Gloves and throws, and Kwan's retired. But he does advance
- 2:00:20Speaker 2: the base runner as Rocchio ends up at third with
- 2:00:22Speaker 2: less than two down. Again, a good read there by
- 2:00:25Speaker 2: Brian Rocchio. Soft chopper over Grayson Rodriguez's head. It's an
- 2:00:29Speaker 2: easy read to get yourself to third base here. Now
- 2:00:31Speaker 2: with one out, Travis Pazana up at the plate. Again,
- 2:00:36Speaker 2: the infield will be back here, so your thought is,
- 2:00:38Speaker 2: Travis Pazana, I have to find a way to put
- 2:00:41Speaker 2: something in the field of play. Here's the pitch from Rodriguez,
- 2:00:48Speaker 2: and it's outside for ball one. So far today, Pazana...
- 2:00:52Speaker 2: has struck out and reached on an infield single. And
- 2:00:57Speaker 2: then a bizarre play that happens every now and again.
- 2:01:01Speaker 2: He was hit by a line drive from Jose Ramirez
- 2:01:03Speaker 2: for the final out in the third inning. Next pitch
- 2:01:07Speaker 2: to him is down low for a ball, and the
- 2:01:09Speaker 2: count's now 2-0. Angels in front, 3-0 in the fifth.
- 2:01:20Speaker 2: Here's the 2-0. Swung on, and that's lifted high in
- 2:01:24Speaker 2: the air to deep left. Back on it is Siri,
- 2:01:26Speaker 2: and he makes the catch. Tagging, heading for home, and
- 2:01:30Speaker 2: scoring is Rocchio. And the Guardians are on the board
- 2:01:34Speaker 2: on the sacrifice fly by Travis Bazzana. It's now the
- 2:01:37Speaker 2: Angels 3 and the Guardians 1. And again, a great A.B.
- 2:01:41Speaker 2: there from Travis Bazzana. Just throwing the barrel of the
- 2:01:45Speaker 2: bat at the baseball, getting that ball to go in
- 2:01:47Speaker 2: the outfield. That's almost a free RBI in that situation
- 2:01:50Speaker 2: with the infield playing back. Did a good job of
- 2:01:54Speaker 2: just finding enough barrel on that ball, lifting it out
- 2:01:57Speaker 2: towards the left field line, and really no chance for
- 2:02:00Speaker 2: Siri to throw Rokio out at home there. Up to
- 2:02:04Speaker 2: the plate now, Jose Ramirez, and he takes ball one
- 2:02:07Speaker 2: high and away. Ramirez already two for two. The pitch
- 2:02:15Speaker 2: to him on the outside corner for a strike. Three
- 2:02:18Speaker 2: hits last night. They were all doubles. Five runs batted
- 2:02:24Speaker 2: in for Ramirez. The ball he hit last time, 105
- 2:02:28Speaker 2: and a half miles an hour. The 1-1 misses inside.
- 2:02:35Speaker 2: And that's significant if you were Travis Bazzana, the base
- 2:02:38Speaker 2: runner who was hit by that line drive. Here's the
- 2:02:45Speaker 2: pitch to Ramirez. He swings and loops it foul out
- 2:02:48Speaker 2: of play. Off to the left. Again, 105.5 off the bat.
- 2:02:57Speaker 2: That's the hardest ball I have personally seen Jose hit
- 2:03:01Speaker 2: since he's come back. Again, just another good sign. Barreled
- 2:03:05Speaker 2: some balls up over 100 miles an hour yesterday. Now
- 2:03:09Speaker 2: a couple here this afternoon. Two and two the count.
- 2:03:17Speaker 2: Here it comes. He tried to check his swing on
- 2:03:20Speaker 2: a pitch in the dirt, did he? He did not.
- 2:03:25Speaker 2: And Ramirez is retired. They don't have to tag him.
- 2:03:28Speaker 2: He didn't make a motion toward first. But he strikes out.
- 2:03:31Speaker 2: The inning's over. But the Guardians score their first run,
- 2:03:34Speaker 2: and we'll head to the bottom of the fifth. It's
- 2:03:36Speaker 2: the Angels 3, the Guardians 1.

- 2:05:27Speaker 1: every afternoon at 3 on 570 WKBN.
- 2:05:34Speaker 2: Mike Trout leads it off for the Angels, bottom of
- 2:05:37Speaker 2: the fifth inning, and their DH today takes a pitch
- 2:05:40Speaker 2: down low for a ball. Trout with a good game
- 2:05:42Speaker 2: last night in center with a couple of diving catches.
- 2:05:47Speaker 2: A little vintage Mike Trout last night. Here's the 1-0,
- 2:05:51Speaker 2: and he swings and fouls it off at home plate.
- 2:05:54Speaker 2: He just about put the Angels in the lead in
- 2:05:56Speaker 2: the eighth inning last night with a booming drive to center.
- 2:06:00Speaker 2: But a great catch was made by Angel Martinez to
- 2:06:04Speaker 2: take at the very least extra bases away and maybe
- 2:06:06Speaker 2: a home run. Yeah, I still think there's a good
- 2:06:08Speaker 2: chance that potentially was a homer. But Angel Martinez, the
- 2:06:13Speaker 2: play of the night certainly defensively, And ultimately ended up
- 2:06:17Speaker 2: being that game-saving catch that we talked about. He needs
- 2:06:22Speaker 2: a little extra time after fouling that one off his foot. Hey,
- 2:06:25Speaker 2: score big on authentic gear at MLBShop.com. They have the jerseys, memorabilia,
- 2:06:30Speaker 2: hats and hoodies and more. MLBShop.com slash guardians. Now Trout's
- 2:06:36Speaker 2: back in there and he takes a strike on the
- 2:06:38Speaker 2: inside corner. One and two the count on Mike Trout.
- 2:06:43Speaker 2: Three-time most valuable player, 11-time All-Star. Here comes the 1-2
- 2:06:51Speaker 2: from Cantillo. Down low, 2-2. And it's yet another year
- 2:06:57Speaker 2: of disappointment, win-loss-wise for the Angels. They have not had
- 2:07:03Speaker 2: a winning season since 2015. The 2-2, down low. 3-2
- 2:07:05Speaker 2: the count on Trout. Although I think there is finally
- 2:07:14Speaker 2: some sense of optimism here in Anaheim because there's a
- 2:07:20Speaker 2: clearer direction on the way this organization is going going forward.
- 2:07:26Speaker 2: They made some really impressive trades and acquired, again, a
- 2:07:29Speaker 2: ton of talent here at the big league level. Payoff
- 2:07:32Speaker 2: pitch to Trout. Outside and high. Ball four. And another
- 2:07:37Speaker 2: walk allowed by Joey Cantillo. That's his seventh. Poor Cantillo
- 2:07:44Speaker 2: is well above his career high. He had walked five
- 2:07:49Speaker 2: in a game a couple of times. Well, I do think,
- 2:07:54Speaker 2: you know, Rosie, with the game last night going the
- 2:07:56Speaker 2: way it did, he's probably going to be out there
- 2:07:59Speaker 2: for it. least the rest of this inning. Vaughn Grissom,
- 2:08:04Speaker 2: the batter, swings and pops one up high in the air,
- 2:08:07Speaker 2: shallow left, coming on Martinez, and he makes the catch
- 2:08:12Speaker 2: as Rocio was going out to help him out, and
- 2:08:15Speaker 2: Martinez came in and got it done. One down. Well,
- 2:08:20Speaker 2: a nice one pitch out right there certainly helps that
- 2:08:23Speaker 2: scenario out. This is one of those situations, again, just
- 2:08:29Speaker 2: given where the game is at, it's a 3-1 ball game. Normally,
- 2:08:34Speaker 2: I think Steven Vogt, Carl Willis would have probably gone
- 2:08:37Speaker 2: to the bullpen already, but given where they are after
- 2:08:39Speaker 2: last night. Christian Moore swings and misses strike one. Joey's
- 2:08:44Speaker 2: probably out there for every bit of his 100-pitch limit.
- 2:08:50Speaker 2: It's 79 right now. Next pitch to Moore. Low and in.
- 2:08:57Speaker 2: Good stop by Hedges. One and one to count on Moore.
- 2:09:04Speaker 2: Who's been up twice, walked twice. Drafted in the first
- 2:09:11Speaker 2: round back in 2024. Was in the big leagues a
- 2:09:14Speaker 2: year ago. The fifth fastest to make it from that
- 2:09:16Speaker 2: draft class. Here's the 1-1. Swung on, ground ball to short.
- 2:09:22Speaker 2: Diving stop, Rocchio. Flips to the back for one. Pizzana
- 2:09:26Speaker 2: to first. Oh, he got him! What a double play
- 2:09:31Speaker 2: by the Guardians. Rocchio with the diving stop, and what
- 2:09:36Speaker 2: a turn by Pizzana. And that retires the side. Unbelievable.
- 2:09:43Speaker 2: Doesn't get much better. We head to the sixth. 3-1,
- 2:09:47Speaker 2: Guardians trailing here in Anaheim.

- 2:11:38Speaker 1: every afternoon at 3 on 570 WKBN.
- 2:11:47Speaker 2: Sixth inning here in Anaheim, and Grayson Rodriguez facing Joe
- 2:11:51Speaker 2: Adele comes up and in with the first pitch. Just
- 2:11:54Speaker 2: missed hitting him. Adele got out of the way for
- 2:11:56Speaker 2: ball one. Adele's 0 for 2. He's bounced into a
- 2:12:00Speaker 2: double play and grounded to short. Rodriguez allowing Just the
- 2:12:05Speaker 2: one run, scattering seven hits. The right-hander delivers, and it's
- 2:12:10Speaker 2: swung on and lifted high and foul down the left
- 2:12:13Speaker 2: side and out of play. Well, that ball got in
- 2:12:16Speaker 2: on Joe. He's going to need himself a new bat.
- 2:12:22Speaker 2: But they have clearly not wanted to let Joe Adele
- 2:12:25Speaker 2: get extended on anything here today and pretty much this series.
- 2:12:30Speaker 2: Just one for ten in the series is Adele, and
- 2:12:32Speaker 2: he had been red hot coming in. 3-1 Guardians Trail.
- 2:12:38Speaker 2: The 1-1 pitch. Swung on and it's popped up. Shallow center.
- 2:12:44Speaker 2: Out goes the second baseman Moore. And Moore makes the
- 2:12:48Speaker 2: catch right in front of the center fielder Teodosio. One down.
- 2:12:55Speaker 2: Up steps Nathaniel Lowe. And we remind you Enbridge Gas Ohio.
- 2:13:00Speaker 2: Says whether you are an individual or contractor, state law
- 2:13:03Speaker 2: requires that you call 8-1-1 before you dig to have
- 2:13:06Speaker 2: underground utilities marked. Here's Nathaniel Lowe, one for two. Pitch
- 2:13:14Speaker 2: to him, and Rodriguez leaves it down low for a ball.
- 2:13:19Speaker 2: Now again, Rodriguez came in with an overall earned run
- 2:13:22Speaker 2: average this year of 6.41. The 1-0, up high, 2-0.
- 2:13:30Speaker 2: But he's been much better than that lately. Last five starts,
- 2:13:35Speaker 2: his ERA in the low threes. And the pedigree is there.
- 2:13:41Speaker 2: Always been considered a top prospect. The 2-0 outside.
- 2:13:45Speaker 34: 3-0.
- 2:13:48Speaker 2: But injuries really halted his development with the Orioles. And
- 2:13:53Speaker 2: he just didn't have much time on the major league
- 2:13:55Speaker 2: mound with Baltimore because of injuries. Now the 3-0. Outside
- 2:14:02Speaker 2: ball forward. Lowe draws the walk, and the Guardians have
- 2:14:05Speaker 2: a base runner here in the sixth. Well, there's a
- 2:14:10Speaker 2: little action in the Angels' bullpen. Sammy Peralta warming up.
- 2:14:18Speaker 2: And you are wondering, would that double play keep Cantillo
- 2:14:23Speaker 2: in the game? The Guardians' pen looks quiet right now. Yes,
- 2:14:26Speaker 2: it does. Figured the score being what it is. Pitch
- 2:14:34Speaker 2: to Martinez, down low, ball one. There's really no harm
- 2:14:37Speaker 2: in allowing Joey to go back out there. No harm
- 2:14:43Speaker 2: meaning if he gets himself into trouble, then that bullpen
- 2:14:47Speaker 2: can get hot. Next pitch to Martinez, in there for
- 2:14:51Speaker 2: a strike. Again, just given the state of the bullpen
- 2:14:56Speaker 2: right now, I think any out you can get past
- 2:14:58Speaker 2: the fifth inning is a beautiful thing for Steven Vogt.
- 2:15:07Speaker 2: Now the 1-1 pitch. Swung on, popped him up, right side,
- 2:15:12Speaker 2: shallow right. Moore is out, coming on, the right fielder low,
- 2:15:16Speaker 2: and he makes the catch. Another pop-up, two down in
- 2:15:21Speaker 2: the inning. And Angel Hanau will bat. Guardians trailing 3-1.
- 2:15:31Speaker 2: Back home this weekend against the Royals, including Saturday afternoon,
- 2:15:35Speaker 2: a 4-10 start. And it's a giveaway day. Throwback 1936

- 2:18:00Speaker 2: Left-hander Sammy Peralta is on the pitch for the Angels.
- 2:18:07Speaker 2: And he comes on with a runner at first and
- 2:18:09Speaker 2: two downs. He'll turn Angel Henao around to the right side.
- 2:18:13Speaker 2: And the first pitch is swung on and foul tipped
- 2:18:16Speaker 2: for strike one. What a good effort by Grayson Rodriguez.
- 2:18:24Speaker 2: Awfully sharp for the Angels today. Here comes the 0-1
- 2:18:31Speaker 2: from Peralta. Swung on. Ground ball to short. Right there.
- 2:18:35Speaker 2: Netto flips to the bag in time for the force.
- 2:18:38Speaker 2: And the side is retired. For the Guardians in the sixth,
- 2:18:42Speaker 2: no runs. They strand a base runner. We head to
- 2:18:45Speaker 2: the bottom of the inning. It's the Angels three, the

- 2:20:41Speaker 2: 3-1. Angels in front, bottom of the sixth here in Anaheim.
- 2:20:50Speaker 2: Joey Cantillo still at it, and he fires away, and
- 2:20:53Speaker 2: it's pounded foul outside of third by Jose Siri.
- 2:20:58Speaker 3: Siri.
- 2:20:58Speaker 2: 0 for 2. He has struck out and grounded into
- 2:21:06Speaker 2: a double play. Cantillo with seven walks today, yet he's
- 2:21:16Speaker 2: still in there at 81 pitches in the sixth inning.
- 2:21:20Speaker 2: His next pitch is outside for a ball. Yeah, it's
- 2:21:22Speaker 2: hard to believe that with seven walks in a baseball game,
- 2:21:25Speaker 2: you could still find yourself here in the sixth under
- 2:21:29Speaker 2: 85 pitches at that. Here comes his 2-1 to Siri.
- 2:21:35Speaker 2: Swung on and fouled back. I got my phone to
- 2:21:38Speaker 2: do it that time. That's Siri. Mine is, I'm still
- 2:21:42Speaker 2: waiting for mine, and it just hasn't happened yet. It
- 2:21:44Speaker 2: just lit up. I think it says, what do you want? Yeah.
- 2:21:48Speaker 2: What can I do for you? How about a couple
- 2:21:51Speaker 2: more outs, Siri? The 2-2 to Siri. Swung on, lined
- 2:21:56Speaker 2: to third, caught by Hanau. There's one. Siri must be
- 2:22:00Speaker 2: listening to you at this point. All right, Josh Lowe
- 2:22:06Speaker 2: steps in. No reaction from the phone. A walk and
- 2:22:11Speaker 2: a pop out. Cantillo's kept the team around, and that's
- 2:22:17Speaker 2: been the M.O. for the Guardians. Here's the pitch, and
- 2:22:22Speaker 2: it's swung on. That's lined to second, and it's caught
- 2:22:24Speaker 2: by Bazana. Two lineouts, two quick outs for Cantillo. And
- 2:22:29Speaker 2: a broken bat at that. Joey continuing to find a
- 2:22:33Speaker 2: way To wiggle in and out here now with two outs.
- 2:22:36Speaker 2: I think you have to be extremely aggressive right here
- 2:22:40Speaker 2: in the strike zone. Somehow find your way out of
- 2:22:46Speaker 2: this game with a quality start after walking seven would
- 2:22:49Speaker 2: be something magical. Denzer Guzman the batter and he takes
- 2:22:52Speaker 2: a strike. He's been up twice, walked twice. There's Cantillo's. 0-1.
- 2:23:06Speaker 2: Waved at and missed. Might have been his best curveball
- 2:23:08Speaker 2: of the day of beauty. Well, he certainly seems like
- 2:23:12Speaker 2: he's starting to settle in, and that's crazy to think
- 2:23:15Speaker 2: here with 89 pitches in the sixth inning. But sometimes
- 2:23:19Speaker 2: better late than never. Gets out of this quick. Maybe
- 2:23:24Speaker 2: he earns the seventh. Here's the pitch. Down low for
- 2:23:27Speaker 2: a ball. So we count 1 and 2 on Denzer Guzman.
- 2:23:36Speaker 2: Guardians down by 2. We have plenty of time remaining
- 2:23:41Speaker 2: in this one. We're only in the bottom of the 6th.
- 2:23:46Speaker 2: The 1-2 from Cantillo. Breaking ball down low. 2 and
- 2:23:51Speaker 2: 2 the count. Well, the bullpen's still quiet here at
- 2:24:00Speaker 2: Angel Stadium. And showing a little confidence in Joey. I
- 2:24:06Speaker 2: think that's also a great thing. Here comes his 2-2 pitch.
- 2:24:14Speaker 2: Swung on. Ripped to third. Caught. Hanao with a leaping grab.
- 2:24:19Speaker 2: Prevents that ball from going in the left. Nice play
- 2:24:22Speaker 2: by Angel Hanao. Three line drive outs in the inning.
- 2:24:27Speaker 2: And we head to the seventh. It is the Angels 3,
- 2:24:30Speaker 2: the Guardians 1. These statements have not been evaluated by
- 2:24:33Speaker 2: the Food and Drug Administration.
- 2:24:34Speaker 1: Hey, it's Ron Verb, and I'll be bringing the heat
- 2:24:37Speaker 1: every afternoon at 3 on 570 WKBN.
- 2:24:45Speaker 2: Seventh inning here in Anaheim. Guardians still trailing. It's 3-1.
- 2:24:48Speaker 2: Angels in front. Reliever Sammy Peralta, the lefty, who came
- 2:24:53Speaker 2: on last inning, continues. He'll face Austin Hedges. Hedges 0-2 today.
- 2:24:59Speaker 2: Here's the pitch. Off speed in there for a strike.
- 2:25:02Speaker 2: But you caught up on the out-of-town scoreboard this half inning.
- 2:25:05Speaker 2: Presented by your Northeast Ohio Ford dealers. White Sox play tonight.
- 2:25:12Speaker 2: They are hosting Texas once again. Guardians came in two
- 2:25:16Speaker 2: and a half back of Chicago for the top spot
- 2:25:19Speaker 2: in the division. Next pitch to Hedges. Misses low and outside.
- 2:25:23Speaker 2: It's one and one. There is a final from this afternoon.
- 2:25:26Speaker 2: Tampa Bay shut out the struggling Tigers 3-0 in Detroit.
- 2:25:31Speaker 2: The 1-1 swung on and fouled back. Freddie Peralta in
- 2:25:37Speaker 2: the honors in that one. I believe that was his
- 2:25:39Speaker 2: first victory as a Tampa Bay Raid. All right. Other
- 2:25:48Speaker 2: action this afternoon. A couple of games going on as
- 2:25:51Speaker 2: we speak. First, the 1-2.
- 2:25:54Speaker 3: Here it is.
- 2:25:55Speaker 2: Called strike three on the outside corner. Boy, Hedges looks
- 2:26:00Speaker 2: like he wants to challenge, but thinks better of it
- 2:26:02Speaker 2: and heads back to the dugout. Well, this one was
- 2:26:06Speaker 2: close regardless. I think it might have just barely clipped
- 2:26:11Speaker 2: that top part of the strike zone. Pretty much a
- 2:26:13Speaker 2: perfect pitcher's pitch in that situation. But Hedges probably making
- 2:26:18Speaker 2: the wise decision there to not challenge and save it
- 2:26:21Speaker 2: for another time. Brian Rocchio, the batter, shows bunt Takes
- 2:26:26Speaker 2: a strike. Other games this afternoon in baseball. Arizona hosting
- 2:26:33Speaker 2: the Cubs. They lead that game 2-0, the Diamondbacks do,
- 2:26:36Speaker 2: in the top half of the ninth inning over in Phoenix.
- 2:26:40Speaker 2: Giants and Reds. They're in the top of the seventh.
- 2:26:43Speaker 2: Giants lead that game up the coast in San Francisco
- 2:26:47Speaker 2: 6-3 over Cincinnati. Here's the 0-1. Swung on. That's pulled
- 2:26:53Speaker 2: foul outside of third. Rafael Devers has hit three consecutive
- 2:26:59Speaker 2: games with a ball in the bay over the right
- 2:27:02Speaker 2: field fence and four of the last six. So he
- 2:27:04Speaker 2: is starting to swing the bat a little bit better
- 2:27:06Speaker 2: as well. Thank goodness we got him out of town
- 2:27:09Speaker 2: in time. Time is everything.
- 2:27:11Speaker 6: Yes, it is.
- 2:27:14Speaker 2: Other games going on as we speak. San Diego shutting
- 2:27:18Speaker 2: out the Pirates 2-0 down the coast in San Diego.
- 2:27:21Speaker 2: Top of the seventh inning there. And it's the Phillies six,
- 2:27:25Speaker 2: the Mariners nothing. Boy, the Mariners have had one of
- 2:27:29Speaker 2: those years where no one can figure out what is
- 2:27:32Speaker 2: going on for a team with a lot of talent.
- 2:27:35Speaker 2: They have a ton of talent. And if it wasn't
- 2:27:37Speaker 2: for their pitching staff, they might not be here. be
- 2:27:41Speaker 2: or might have one of the worst records in baseball.
- 2:27:43Speaker 2: But that pitching staff has been on point. The 0-2.
- 2:27:47Speaker 2: Swing and a miss. Strike three. Back-to-back strikeouts for Sammy
- 2:27:52Speaker 2: Peralta here in the seventh. Two quick outs for the Guardians.
- 2:27:56Speaker 2: And now we head back to the top of the lineup.
- 2:27:59Speaker 2: For Stephen Kwan. Guardians trailing 3-1 here. Came in 2.5
- 2:28:06Speaker 2: back of the White Sox in the division. If the
- 2:28:10Speaker 2: season ended right now. They would have a wild card
- 2:28:14Speaker 2: playoff berth. As Kwan takes one inside for a ball.
- 2:28:20Speaker 2: And the wild card standings. The Yankees have the first seed.
- 2:28:23Speaker 2: Then Boston. Then the Guardians. By a game over Texas
- 2:28:28Speaker 2: right now. Here's the pitch. On the outside corner, called strike.
- 2:28:34Speaker 2: The other team's hanging around. You have Baltimore two and
- 2:28:36Speaker 2: a half behind Cleveland. Seattle, Minnesota, and Toronto are all
- 2:28:42Speaker 2: three back. It wasn't that long ago the Guardians were
- 2:28:46Speaker 2: below all those teams. That's the truth. The 1-1 on
- 2:28:49Speaker 2: the outside corner for a strike. With how jumbled up
- 2:28:52Speaker 2: the American League is this year, one good week could
- 2:28:54Speaker 2: really be the separator that you need, and I think
- 2:28:56Speaker 2: we're kind of seeing that play out right now. It
- 2:29:00Speaker 2: is amazing. One and two to count. The pitch to Kwon.
- 2:29:06Speaker 2: Tapped foul slowly at home plate. Nice job there by
- 2:29:10Speaker 2: Stephen Kwon. That was a late breaking slider. Almost a
- 2:29:14Speaker 2: bit of an emergency swing there from Kwon. But did
- 2:29:17Speaker 2: a great job of just fouling it off. And again,
- 2:29:19Speaker 2: living to see another pitch. Here's the one-two pitch. Swing
- 2:29:26Speaker 2: and a miss, strike three. Peralta strikes out the side,
- 2:29:31Speaker 2: and we reach the stretch in Anaheim. Your score, the
- 2:29:34Speaker 2: Angels 3, the Guardians 1.

- 2:31:38Speaker 2: Guardians trailing 3-1, and they have gone to their bullpen
- 2:31:42Speaker 2: for the first time as we head to the bottom
- 2:31:43Speaker 2: of the seventh inning. Left-hander Tim Herron will take over
- 2:31:47Speaker 2: for the starter, Joey Cantillo. Tyler Heinemann, the batter. Here's
- 2:31:53Speaker 2: the pitch from Herron. Slider on the inside corner, strike one.
- 2:31:58Speaker 2: Tim Herron has really been throwing the ball well of late,
- 2:32:02Speaker 2: and he's on now to try and keep it close
- 2:32:03Speaker 2: here in the seventh. On the season, Herron Two and four.
- 2:32:11Speaker 2: An ERA of 3.38. This is appearance number 56. Next
- 2:32:23Speaker 2: pitch to Heinemann. Bounce to third. Foul ball. Paid attendance
- 2:32:28Speaker 2: here at Angel Stadium today. Paid $ 25, 161. And many are
- 2:32:35Speaker 2: tucked up underneath the overhangs. The 25 part. Those are
- 2:32:42Speaker 2: paid tickets, but I'm sure a lot of people, they
- 2:32:46Speaker 2: knew they were going to be out in the sun.
- 2:32:48Speaker 2: Maybe another day or night would be better. A smoker today.
- 2:32:53Speaker 2: Here's the 0-2. Swung on, and there's a high fly
- 2:32:56Speaker 2: ball to the left. Hanging up there for Martinez. He
- 2:32:59Speaker 2: makes the catch, and there's one down. Well, nice job
- 2:33:04Speaker 2: there by Timmy. Again, the breaking ball looks like it's
- 2:33:07Speaker 2: on point again today. Coming in relief here, Joey Cantillo,
- 2:33:11Speaker 2: who Rosie somehow, someway, we need to start calling him
- 2:33:15Speaker 2: the magician apparently because he wriggled himself out of some
- 2:33:19Speaker 2: serious trouble. Managed to get a quality start out of
- 2:33:23Speaker 2: that with seven walks and just three runs given up.
- 2:33:26Speaker 2: Bryce Teodosio steps in and he takes a pitch low
- 2:33:29Speaker 2: and away. Only the three runs, two were earned on
- 2:33:34Speaker 2: only two hits, but those seven walks had him in
- 2:33:36Speaker 2: trouble a lot, but somehow made it through six. The
- 2:33:42Speaker 2: 1-0 swung on and foul back out of play. Good
- 2:33:45Speaker 2: heat that time from Heron at 95. Well, when Tim
- 2:33:53Speaker 2: Heron throws strikes, which again, I feel like we say
- 2:33:56Speaker 2: that a lot, but when Heron throws strikes, he's pretty
- 2:33:59Speaker 2: much unhittable. A 1-2. Actually, the 1-1. Now it's 1-2
- 2:34:06Speaker 2: as that's a strike on the inside corner.
- 2:34:12Speaker 7: One out.
- 2:34:12Speaker 2: Base is empty. Heron delivers. Down low for a ball.
- 2:34:20Speaker 2: That will even count at 2-2. Well, I like the
- 2:34:25Speaker 2: thought there. They tried to go four-seam in for a strike.
- 2:34:28Speaker 2: That worked out. And then tried to throw the slider
- 2:34:32Speaker 2: off of it. It just was too low right out
- 2:34:33Speaker 2: of the hand. The 2-2. Swung on and there's a
- 2:34:37Speaker 2: high fly ball to left center. Long run for the
- 2:34:40Speaker 2: left fielder and making the catches. Martinez in the gap
- 2:34:44Speaker 2: in left center. Two down. Good job there by Angel.
- 2:34:50Speaker 2: Got a good jump on that ball. Took off after
- 2:34:53Speaker 2: pretty good there for a minute but realized, okay, I
- 2:34:55Speaker 2: think I'm going to be able to haul this one in.
- 2:35:01Speaker 2: Top of the lineup, Zach Netto, the batter, with two down,
- 2:35:04Speaker 2: bases empty here in the seventh. Three to one, Angels
- 2:35:07Speaker 2: in front. Pitch to Netto, in there for strike one. Well,
- 2:35:12Speaker 2: having Tim throw the ball like this, this is fun
- 2:35:15Speaker 2: to watch. And then you have two dominant lefties in
- 2:35:19Speaker 2: the pen. We saw Eric Sabrowski was dominating last night
- 2:35:23Speaker 2: in his one inning of work. Here comes the 0-1.
- 2:35:30Speaker 2: Swing and a miss. Just a slider that disappeared on
- 2:35:34Speaker 2: the back foot. Yeah, but everything to me, that slider
- 2:35:39Speaker 2: sets off that fastball lane. And he's really shown the
- 2:35:43Speaker 2: ability to throw the fastball in her third to these
- 2:35:45Speaker 2: righties for a strike. The 0-2. Just missed outside. Tried
- 2:35:51Speaker 2: to go backdoor breaking ball right there as a freeze pitch.
- 2:35:56Speaker 2: Netto smartly took that, probably knowing he couldn't hit it.
- 2:35:59Speaker 2: If he tried to swing at it, he'll take your chances.
- 2:36:02Speaker 2: Next pitch to Netto, down low for a ball, and
- 2:36:05Speaker 2: it counts now 2-2. Tim Herron at Indiana University. Here
- 2:36:22Speaker 2: comes his 2-2 pitch. Fastball high and away. Three and two.
- 2:36:26Speaker 2: You'd love to get Netto and avoid facing Mike Trout.
- 2:36:36Speaker 2: Here comes Heron's payoff pitch. Swung on and that's line
- 2:36:39Speaker 2: to left near the alley. Reaching out. Diving attempt. Another
- 2:36:45Speaker 2: great catch by Angel Martinez. What a series. What a
- 2:36:52Speaker 2: road trip defensively for Martinez. How did he get to that?
- 2:36:58Speaker 2: Looked like a young Chris Jimenez out there for a second.
- 2:37:01Speaker 2: Holy smokes. Fantastic diving play there. Going towards the warning track.
- 2:37:07Speaker 2: I mean, that was unbelievably impressive. Will probably be on
- 2:37:11Speaker 2: the top ten plays this evening. I think the top
- 2:37:14Speaker 2: one play. I think it was the top one play.
- 2:37:16Speaker 2: That's incredible. It retires the side. We head to the eight.
- 2:37:19Speaker 2: Three to one, Angels. Sip something special.
