In 1965, Milwaukee hosted the Great Circus Parade for the third time — but this year was historic: for the first time ever, the Ringling Bros. circus moved its antique wagons, vehicles, and animals from Baraboo to Milwaukee via a special circus train called the Circus Parade Limited. A half-mile-long procession of flatcars and vintage coaches rolled through towns before arriving downtown, bringing old-school circus magic to the lakefront with wagon displays, live shows, and daily Ringling performances.
