- 0:10Speaker 1: Welcome to Conspiracy The Show, the world's most trusted conspiracy
- 0:16Speaker 1: dairy podcast, with your hosts Adam Todd Brown and Olivia Hidar.
- 0:32Speaker 2: Hey, everybody, welcome to a very special book club edition of.
- 0:39Speaker 3: Conspiracy The Show. I'm your host Adam Todd.
- 0:41Speaker 4: Brown or are you I'm Olivia Hidar.
- 0:44Speaker 3: That makes us your hosts plural. Olivia, how's it going?
- 0:48Speaker 4: You know it's going okay. I've built myself a little
- 0:51Speaker 4: arc and that has allowed me to survive the la
- 0:54Speaker 4: weather for the last couple of days been pretty wild.
- 0:58Speaker 4: Between the hurricane and the earth it was. It was
- 1:01Speaker 4: a bumpy weekend.
- 1:03Speaker 3: I love that now and forever.
- 1:06Speaker 2: I get to tell people like especially from the Midwest,
- 1:09Speaker 2: and shit, I get to be like, I survived a
- 1:13Speaker 2: hurricane and an earthquake at the same time, and then
- 1:17Speaker 2: they're like, oh, what did you do? I'll be like,
- 1:20Speaker 2: I just kept watching tennis.
- 1:22Speaker 3: It was pretty.
- 1:24Speaker 2: Like it like a few seconds into the earthquake before
- 1:28Speaker 2: me and the wife looked at each other.
- 1:30Speaker 4: Like are we having an earthquake right now? Because we're
- 1:34Speaker 4: your way farther. You're you're much further from Ohai than
- 1:37Speaker 4: than I was. So I definitely felt it. Yeah, it's
- 1:41Speaker 4: you can say I survived a hurricane and the people go,
- 1:44Speaker 4: what is a tropical storm? And people in LA can
- 1:48Speaker 4: rightfully go in LA. It's basically the same. There's just
- 1:52Speaker 4: I'm sorry, we're just not built for that much rain.
- 1:54Speaker 3: No, we sure aren't. But we survived.
- 1:57Speaker 4: We did.
- 1:58Speaker 3: We're still here and we're talking about a book.
- 2:02Speaker 2: Yes, this book is called The Keepers, an alien message
- 2:07Speaker 2: for the human race. I feel like there are two
- 2:11Speaker 2: different questions here in terms of this book.
- 2:15Speaker 4: One, yeah, is it good?
- 2:17Speaker 3: Two?
- 2:17Speaker 4: Sure?
- 2:18Speaker 3: Do you believe the guy?
- 2:19Speaker 4: Sure? I would say. The third big question is did
- 2:23Speaker 4: Jim Sparks do all the illustrations himself?
- 2:26Speaker 3: The illustrations are wild.
- 2:30Speaker 4: This is going to be something we talk about a
- 2:31Speaker 4: lot in depth. But every time there was an illustration,
- 2:35Speaker 4: I had a good old laugh. I had a nice
- 2:38Speaker 4: time looking at that picture.
- 2:40Speaker 3: Yeah, Like, did he have that mullet in real life?
- 2:43Speaker 3: Or is that just threw him?
- 2:47Speaker 4: It must be drawing from reality. Every okay, so every
- 2:52Speaker 4: for the people who did not read this book, which
- 2:54Speaker 4: is hopefully goddamn everyone, don't read this. Don't spend your life.
- 3:00Speaker 3: I don't read it, and like take it as gospel.
- 3:04Speaker 4: But I will definitely drew.
- 3:07Speaker 2: I found the book at least in the early chapters.
- 3:11Speaker 3: He's not a terrible writer, like he's.
- 3:13Speaker 4: He's not a terrible writer. No, he's a very basic right.
- 3:18Speaker 4: He feels like a like a normal like a normal
- 3:21Speaker 4: person sat down.
- 3:24Speaker 2: I think he's a little better than that, like as
- 3:27Speaker 2: a writer myself. I sure there were there were several
- 3:30Speaker 2: lines that I respected a whole lot. He actually isn't
- 3:34Speaker 2: bad with jokes. But yeah, I found the book entertaining.
- 3:39Speaker 4: I did for a little while. I will say it
- 3:42Speaker 4: is quite repetitive.
- 3:44Speaker 2: Near the end, he really starts he's just kind of
- 3:47Speaker 2: saying the same thing over.
- 3:49Speaker 4: I mean all of the encounters are play out fairly similarly,
- 3:56Speaker 4: with some variations. So yeah, I mean, you know, obviously
- 3:59Speaker 4: there if it were available for free anywhere, like if
- 4:04Speaker 4: it were available on any sort of like Libby or
- 4:07Speaker 4: scribbed sort of you know, home library experience, then I
- 4:12Speaker 4: would have a lot easier time suggesting it. And if
- 4:17Speaker 4: any of the illustrations were online at all, I would
- 4:22Speaker 4: say seek those out. But unfortunately you'll have to make
- 4:24Speaker 4: do with our descriptions, and every single one is features
- 4:29Speaker 4: him from the back kind of three quarters angle, so
- 4:33Speaker 4: you see his mulleted head and the big pushbrow musta
- 4:39Speaker 4: apparently he had.
- 4:42Speaker 2: Yeah, the illustrations are great. So anyway, it starts with
- 4:46Speaker 2: a prologue from Linda Moulton Howe, who anyone who's way
- 4:50Speaker 2: into UFO's will recognize that name. She's been on the
- 4:54Speaker 2: scene for a long time.
- 4:56Speaker 4: I would say a solid quarter of this book is
- 4:59Speaker 4: written by other people, because there's a bunch of there's
- 5:03Speaker 4: a ton of stuff at the very end that's also
- 5:05Speaker 4: written by other people. Yeah.
- 5:08Speaker 2: The we do find out in the prologue that Jim
- 5:11Speaker 2: Spark's real name Vincent Sparasino.
- 5:14Speaker 3: Yes, which and yeah, that is never explained.
- 5:20Speaker 4: Why is Italian? He says over and over again that
- 5:26Speaker 4: he is Italian. I'm gonna I'm gonna argue with you,
- 5:30Speaker 4: but is it.
- 5:30Speaker 2: But I mean, is that in it Italian thing to
- 5:33Speaker 2: just go by a different name.
- 5:35Speaker 4: Well, no, but I mean his his name is very Italian,
- 5:38Speaker 4: is all I meant.
- 5:39Speaker 3: Oh No, I get that.
- 5:40Speaker 2: I just don't understand why he's using the stage name.
- 5:44Speaker 4: It's a synonym. It's to protect his identity.
- 5:48Speaker 3: I guess line in his book it's a real name.
- 5:52Speaker 4: I know. Yeah, that is that is kind of funny.
- 5:55Speaker 4: I don't know why you do that, but it's it
- 5:57Speaker 4: is very funny. How often he mentioned being an Italian.
- 6:01Speaker 4: It's a very Italian American thing to do. Yeah.
- 6:05Speaker 3: Yeah, he's super proud of that.
- 6:07Speaker 4: And hey, anybody who's ever known an out and proud
- 6:10Speaker 4: Italian will tell you that, they'll let you know that
- 6:13Speaker 4: they're fucking Italian.
- 6:14Speaker 3: Yeah, and he sure does.
- 6:16Speaker 2: And Yeah, there's a bunch of like prologue and introduction stuff.
- 6:22Speaker 2: Yeah that, I mean, I don't care about. You know,
- 6:25Speaker 2: there is now that I'm looking. I'm flipping through the
- 6:27Speaker 2: pages again, there is a picture of Jim Sparks.
- 6:30Speaker 3: And he does have a mullet.
- 6:32Speaker 4: There we go. It's a very curly mullet. I missed
- 6:34Speaker 4: the photograph.
- 6:35Speaker 3: Yeah, and he in.
- 6:36Speaker 2: The introduction dives right in says, my name is Joe Sparks,
- 6:40Speaker 2: and I have been contacted by extraterrestrial beings.
- 6:43Speaker 4: Yes, did you find it?
- 6:45Speaker 2: I mean, I guess it doesn't always happen in the morning.
- 6:48Speaker 2: But a lot of this, what he's describing sounds so
- 6:52Speaker 2: much like sleep paralysis.
- 6:54Speaker 4: Yes, yes, absolutely, that was a big sleep paralysis. And
- 6:58Speaker 4: once again noid schizophreniarears its ugly head. And you know,
- 7:04Speaker 4: I don't want to just dismiss the guy out of hand,
- 7:06Speaker 4: but also when you're describing things that sound like textbook
- 7:11Speaker 4: examples of psychological phenomenon, I'd it difficult not to do
- 7:15Speaker 4: that a little bit.
- 7:17Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:17Speaker 2: He even talks about during these abduction scenarios, like about
- 7:23Speaker 2: how he can't move. Yeah, and it's like that really
- 7:26Speaker 2: sounds like sleep paralysis. Yes, And we know now that
- 7:30Speaker 2: a lot of alien contact type of stuff ends up
- 7:35Speaker 2: being that, Like there's a terrible documentary about it, Like
- 7:38Speaker 2: we know it's a thing.
- 7:40Speaker 4: Yes, And he over and over again in describing his
- 7:45Speaker 4: abductions talks about how dreamlike they feel and how you know,
- 7:52Speaker 4: things don't move in a logical fashion, and you know,
- 7:57Speaker 4: just there's a lot of hints what's actually going on here. Yeah.
- 8:02Speaker 4: He also drinks a lot, and he also was a
- 8:06Speaker 4: severe alcoholic for several years at least, So.
- 8:10Speaker 2: So yeah that all as I was reading this, I
- 8:13Speaker 2: was just like, I don't know, Bud, Like I'm not
- 8:18Speaker 2: I'm not.
- 8:19Speaker 3: Opposed to the idea that aliens.
- 8:21Speaker 4: Exist, sure me either, obviously.
- 8:24Speaker 2: And the thing is everything he's talking about one of
- 8:29Speaker 2: the things he always points out is well, I have
- 8:32Speaker 2: like perfect recollection of everything happened to me, and I'm
- 8:35Speaker 2: the only one who has that perfect recollection.
- 8:38Speaker 3: And it's like, well, that's weird too then.
- 8:41Speaker 4: Right, Yes, I mean a lot of this In addition
- 8:44Speaker 4: to talking feeling like sleep press is a lot of
- 8:48Speaker 4: it also feels like a creative writing exercise, like you know,
- 8:53Speaker 4: there's a lot he remembers. He remembers his events so
- 8:56Speaker 4: clearly that he remembers specifically what he is mumbling to
- 9:01Speaker 4: himself as the experiences are happening. And I don't know
- 9:06Speaker 4: that's all. That's pretty accurate memory.
- 9:08Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 9:09Speaker 2: That reminds me of Behold a Pale Horse, where so
- 9:14Speaker 2: much of it is Bill Cooper being like listen, I
- 9:17Speaker 2: saw a bunch of documents in nineteen sixty five, and
- 9:20Speaker 2: as luck would have it, I remember every one.
- 9:22Speaker 3: Of them word for word. Like, are you sure you
- 9:25Speaker 3: remember every one of them word for word?
- 9:27Speaker 4: Bill? Yeah, I don't know.
- 9:29Speaker 2: And Jim Spark's basic message here, at least in the beginning,
- 9:33Speaker 2: is that aliens have been here on Earth for thousands
- 9:37Speaker 2: and thousands of years. Yeah, and that they've been you know,
- 9:41Speaker 2: following and tracking us the whole time.
- 9:44Speaker 4: He's since before humans evolve, is right? How long?
- 9:50Speaker 2: And he seems to be a proponent of the what
- 9:55Speaker 2: the fuck did they call it?
- 9:56Speaker 3: The ancient aliens thing? Pan spermia?
- 9:58Speaker 4: Oh, pan spermia where.
- 10:01Speaker 2: Aliens come down and like see the planet and like
- 10:05Speaker 2: make the DNA with ours.
- 10:07Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, he's he's way into that theory.
- 10:11Speaker 3: He's also a subscriber to what I think people sometimes
- 10:14Speaker 3: call the zoo theory.
- 10:16Speaker 2: Sure that aliens like we are cattle to them, and
- 10:20Speaker 2: they use us for resources and otherwise they don't really
- 10:25Speaker 2: care what happens to us.
- 10:26Speaker 3: But also they need us alive.
- 10:28Speaker 4: So they want to keep the planet running, right like.
- 10:31Speaker 3: You would with a farm, right, And uh maybe I don't.
- 10:34Speaker 4: Know, sure, maybe could be uh yeah, it could be.
- 10:39Speaker 4: Probably Prometheus was actually a documentary. It's it's actually real.
- 10:44Speaker 4: The Xenomorph exists.
- 10:46Speaker 2: So he says early on in this book, he's been
- 10:48Speaker 2: abducted by aliens so many times that lost count. Yeah,
- 10:53Speaker 2: which that's a lot, that's a yeah, that's a that's
- 10:56Speaker 2: a whole lot of aliens he's had.
- 10:59Speaker 4: He had numerous adventures with these extraterrestrials.
- 11:04Speaker 3: And they the interactions with them are interesting and yeah,
- 11:10Speaker 3: also really convenient for the story he's telling because he
- 11:15Speaker 3: says they never answer questions, right, which that's disappointing.
- 11:20Speaker 4: It is. I mean, like, look, that's fine. I'm not
- 11:24Speaker 4: necessarily expecting some alien intelligence to like be interested in
- 11:29Speaker 4: answering our unique mortal questions. That's true, but it does
- 11:34Speaker 4: make for kind of an unsatisfying book that is promising
- 11:37Speaker 4: you the answers about extraterrestrials.
- 11:41Speaker 2: What did you think about the abduction stories themselves?
- 11:45Speaker 4: Uh, you know, again, they kind of got repetitive after
- 11:49Speaker 4: a little while. But you know, there's he tells it interestingly, right.
- 11:54Speaker 4: It kind of reminds me of Fire in the Sky
- 11:57Speaker 4: a little bit, some of it. Yeah, where it's they're
- 12:00Speaker 4: taking him up and they're like inspecting him and they're
- 12:03Speaker 4: giving him tests. They they they have the language thing,
- 12:07Speaker 4: which is interesting until I mean, I don't know, man,
- 12:12Speaker 4: I'm seeing some of these alien letters that he's that
- 12:17Speaker 4: he's presenting us, and I'm like, are these alien letters
- 12:20Speaker 4: or are they squiggles? Yeah?
- 12:23Speaker 3: Some of them just look like like the alien A
- 12:25Speaker 3: just looked like an A, right, yeah.
- 12:27Speaker 4: And the alien B. Right, it was the alien B
- 12:30Speaker 4: was a beat a capital B, but without like the
- 12:33Speaker 4: back line, so just like the curves.
- 12:36Speaker 2: The whole time the aliens are teaching him this language
- 12:40Speaker 2: or this writing system, they're also talking to him telepathically, right,
- 12:44Speaker 2: And you can tell that after the first edition of
- 12:47Speaker 2: this book came out, he was inundated with questions from
- 12:50Speaker 2: people being like, why did they need an alphabet if
- 12:52Speaker 2: they could just talk to you telepathically, Because he addresses
- 12:57Speaker 2: that at the end of this book, right, right, answer
- 13:00Speaker 2: is that doing that implanted the framework in him that
- 13:05Speaker 2: would allow him to communicate telepath right.
- 13:09Speaker 4: Yeah, It's like the more he does it, the better
- 13:12Speaker 4: he gets at communicating mind to mind. Right.
- 13:18Speaker 3: I like the first abduction story because.
- 13:22Speaker 4: Well, which one, the one that takes place kind of
- 13:25Speaker 4: in media reshea, the.
- 13:27Speaker 2: One that he like starts the book off with it
- 13:31Speaker 2: and then circles back to it.
- 13:32Speaker 4: At the end.
- 13:34Speaker 2: The feature is that the alien in question showed up
- 13:38Speaker 2: wearing like a zoot suit or something.
- 13:40Speaker 4: Yeah, he was, like he's specifically described as dressing and
- 13:46Speaker 4: talking like a twenties mobster. Basically, basically, I was just
- 13:52Speaker 4: picturing Edward g. Robinson kind of you know.
- 13:56Speaker 3: Yeah, see, and his explanation or his all.
- 14:00Speaker 2: His best attempt to explain this is, well, you know,
- 14:03Speaker 2: these aliens, they hop around.
- 14:05Speaker 3: From time to time, right right, yeah, time.
- 14:08Speaker 2: Travel, and this one probably like the last time he
- 14:12Speaker 2: came to Earth it was forties.
- 14:14Speaker 3: And yeah, he.
- 14:15Speaker 4: Thinks we're still we're still talking like that, even though
- 14:18Speaker 4: we've moved on.
- 14:20Speaker 2: Was pictureing aliens showing up looking like the fawns.
- 14:26Speaker 4: That would have been fun. He should have played with
- 14:28Speaker 4: that more. Yes, I feel like, yeah, I really disliked
- 14:34Speaker 4: that device of starting with some abduction from like nineteen
- 14:40Speaker 4: ninety four or whatever, and then getting to a dramatic
- 14:44Speaker 4: spot where he's like, they opened the door and what
- 14:47Speaker 4: I saw was the truth or something, and then jumping
- 14:52Speaker 4: back to I was born in nineteen sixty three in
- 14:57Speaker 4: Florida and blah, blah, blah, Like, God, shut the fuck up, man,
- 15:03Speaker 4: what the fuck? Just tell me what the truth was.
- 15:05Speaker 4: That's what I'm here for.
- 15:07Speaker 2: And yeah, the abduction stories, there's a point where, all right,
- 15:12Speaker 2: I just passed one of the first illustrations, and this
- 15:17Speaker 2: first abduction story kind of ends with him in this
- 15:21Speaker 2: man dressed as a Chicago mobster, a stroll on the beach. Yes,
- 15:27Speaker 2: they see a light coming up out of the water,
- 15:30Speaker 2: and that's one of the first illustrations we get.
- 15:32Speaker 3: Yes, and yeah, there's no way he didn't draw these himself.
- 15:36Speaker 4: That has to be what it is, right, Like, I
- 15:39Speaker 4: cannot think of another explanation for why these are the
- 15:44Speaker 4: illustrations that you include in your book as like evidence.
- 15:48Speaker 2: Yeah, and imagine if he did, like farm that workout
- 15:52Speaker 2: to someone else and these are the exs they came.
- 15:54Speaker 4: He's like, he came back like this. He's like, what
- 15:57Speaker 4: the fuck? Man, I could have done this. You guys
- 16:00Speaker 4: wanted professional art.
- 16:02Speaker 3: This is what you think My hair looks like I
- 16:05Speaker 3: ever have a mullet?
- 16:06Speaker 4: What the fuck? And a mustache where the mustache? The
- 16:10Speaker 4: artist is just like, I don't know, you said Florida guy.
- 16:13Speaker 4: So I just kind of drew a Florida guy and
- 16:16Speaker 4: with all these aliens.
- 16:19Speaker 2: Yeah, it's funny to me that so much of the
- 16:23Speaker 2: early part of this book is him being like, all right, well,
- 16:27Speaker 2: I'm getting abducted by aliens a bunch here in Texas,
- 16:33Speaker 2: so what I should probably do is go to North
- 16:36Speaker 2: Carolina for a bit. And it's like, these are these
- 16:39Speaker 2: things are traveling from other dimensions, right humped by you
- 16:43Speaker 2: going to rally U.
- 16:46Speaker 4: It seems like they are for a while at least
- 16:49Speaker 4: they can't figure it out. Yeah, apparently because he talks
- 16:52Speaker 4: about he like he operated a business in Texas that
- 16:57Speaker 4: mostly did business in North Carolina for some Yeah, and
- 17:01Speaker 4: so he was constantly flying from Texas to North Carolina.
- 17:05Speaker 4: I don't know. I would probably just move to where
- 17:07Speaker 4: my you know, company does its business. Yeah. I think
- 17:11Speaker 4: I just moved to North Carolina. Why not. It's got
- 17:14Speaker 4: to be better. Yeah, especially if you're getting abducted by
- 17:17Speaker 4: aliens all the time in Texas. Yeah, getting you in
- 17:21Speaker 4: North Carolina.
- 17:23Speaker 2: I also liked the part where he was trying to
- 17:25Speaker 2: hide from them by checking into motel rooms.
- 17:28Speaker 4: Oh yeah, yeah yeah, and he.
- 17:29Speaker 2: Said he checked into one and requested a room with
- 17:31Speaker 2: no windows. I don't think that's real.
- 17:34Speaker 4: I don't think. I don't think that exists. I don't
- 17:36Speaker 4: think you're gonna have a hard time with that one.
- 17:37Speaker 2: That sounds quasi illegal. If I'm being completely honest.
- 17:43Speaker 4: We're goning to give you the dungeon suite.
- 17:47Speaker 2: And he describes these encounters as if there's like a
- 17:51Speaker 2: hierarchy when it comes to these aliens.
- 17:53Speaker 3: There's the workers. And then there's the supervisors.
- 17:56Speaker 2: And the supervisors are bigger and more, like he describes
- 18:02Speaker 2: it as, you can like feel their importance.
- 18:06Speaker 4: Right, They've got like a psychic pressure that they that
- 18:11Speaker 4: they just exude whenever they're around. Right.
- 18:14Speaker 2: And then there's you know the bullshit worker drones, who
- 18:18Speaker 2: he suspects they maybe even like make themselves, like they
- 18:21Speaker 2: just like create those little guys.
- 18:24Speaker 4: Yeah, they either are like created or they're like some
- 18:28Speaker 4: sort of stunted sexless drones or something. I don't know,
- 18:32Speaker 4: it's kind of unclear.
- 18:34Speaker 2: And there's two main things that happens to him during
- 18:38Speaker 2: these encounters.
- 18:40Speaker 3: One he is kind of forced to learn this alien alphabet.
- 18:46Speaker 2: Yeah, but also they sometimes extract semen from him.
- 18:49Speaker 4: Well, yeah, they always got to have a little semen
- 18:52Speaker 4: on hand. Yeah, Aliens love semen.
- 18:55Speaker 3: They're gonna use it to repopulate the earth, you know.
- 18:58Speaker 4: Yeah, they're real cumharsen. The aliens they swallow, they're really
- 19:07Speaker 4: they don't just swallow they like they like BOUCACKI all
- 19:10Speaker 4: this stolen seamen all over themselves.
- 19:13Speaker 3: I'm gonna be honest.
- 19:14Speaker 2: A lot of what he describes, I mean, even the
- 19:18Speaker 2: semen extraction to some extent it sounds kind of rad.
- 19:22Speaker 4: He doesn't. Yeah, he talks about he has to constantly
- 19:26Speaker 4: say over and over again. I felt so terrified this
- 19:30Speaker 4: entire time because what he's actually describing doesn't really sound
- 19:34Speaker 4: that bad at all.
- 19:37Speaker 3: It's just it's just aliens being like, all right, so
- 19:40Speaker 3: here's what your letter A looks like. Right, now, here's
- 19:42Speaker 3: what ours looks like. Draws.
- 19:45Speaker 4: It's like, fine, okay, sure that's enough. But he's but
- 19:50Speaker 4: he's he you know, he's so rebellious. That's the thing
- 19:54Speaker 4: about him. Well, I don't know if you know, it's
- 19:56Speaker 4: just a rebel spirit.
- 19:57Speaker 3: Well he's Italian.
- 19:59Speaker 4: He is Italian, and he don't want to you don't
- 20:01Speaker 4: want to get on their bad side.
- 20:02Speaker 3: A spicy meatball, Olivia.
- 20:05Speaker 4: That's true. He is a spicy meatball.
- 20:09Speaker 2: Not only is he mostly just you know, learning an
- 20:13Speaker 2: alien alphabet or bone in like a projection of a
- 20:17Speaker 2: beautiful woman that's actually.
- 20:19Speaker 3: Like a box or whatever.
- 20:22Speaker 2: When he does the tests properly, he gets rewarded, like, yeah,
- 20:27Speaker 2: the word lust and power comes up and he has
- 20:30Speaker 2: to pick one, right, Lust, he gets to just bone
- 20:33Speaker 2: whatever fucking projection they put in front of him.
- 20:36Speaker 3: Right, they're like, hey, you can move that brick with
- 20:38Speaker 3: your head.
- 20:39Speaker 4: Do it well? And also even before they give him
- 20:43Speaker 4: the lust and Power option, they would whenever he would
- 20:46Speaker 4: like trace the letter, they would flood his brain with euphoria,
- 20:50Speaker 4: which I don't know, sounds kind of fun. I'd like
- 20:52Speaker 4: to do that. I like drugs, you know that would
- 20:57Speaker 4: be fun.
- 20:58Speaker 3: Yeah, I would love some euphoria.
- 21:00Speaker 4: Great please? Oh no, wait, is Zi Daya involved? I
- 21:03Speaker 4: don't know. I don't want any of that.
- 21:07Speaker 2: So he says his abduction started in nineteen eighty eight.
- 21:11Speaker 2: This book doesn't come out for I think another ten years.
- 21:14Speaker 2: I think it comes out around ninety eight.
- 21:17Speaker 4: Yeah, around that. Well, this is the second edition that
- 21:19Speaker 4: we're reading, though, true, I think it came out like
- 21:22Speaker 4: in yeah, the mid nineties, and then this one is
- 21:25Speaker 4: a little bit later.
- 21:26Speaker 2: And even when he's describing his very first abduction, the
- 21:29Speaker 2: one in nineteen eighty eight, yeah, there's a line I highlighted.
- 21:33Speaker 2: The one aspect that did bother me was the temporary paralysis.
- 21:38Speaker 4: Yeah, did no one.
- 21:39Speaker 2: I mean, I guess I don't know how evolved our
- 21:43Speaker 2: understanding of sleep paralysis was at this point in history.
- 21:47Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, I feel like doctors probably were aware
- 21:51Speaker 4: of it, and probably you know it, had a little
- 21:54Speaker 4: bit of a broader understanding. But you know, regardless, that
- 21:58Speaker 4: would require him to talk to someone about it and
- 22:03Speaker 4: take their advice, and neither of those are things that
- 22:07Speaker 4: he is inclined to do based on the evidence of
- 22:10Speaker 4: this book.
- 22:12Speaker 3: Yeah, he certainly doesn't hit up any doctors about this.
- 22:15Speaker 4: No, he does hit up multiple people who try to
- 22:20Speaker 4: prevent protect his home from demons.
- 22:24Speaker 3: I mean, everyone knows you line the outside of your
- 22:27Speaker 3: house with eggs, and of course I'm.
- 22:29Speaker 4: In Well, that part actually made sense because that is
- 22:33Speaker 4: like a Latin American like, you know, evil spirit protection
- 22:38Speaker 4: type thing and so like. But it was funny that
- 22:42Speaker 4: like his neighbor he tells he tells his neighbor about
- 22:45Speaker 4: the aliens, and his neighbor's like, okay, I understand. And
- 22:47Speaker 4: then he finds him like putting eggs around his house
- 22:50Speaker 4: and saying he's gonna protect them from demons. And then
- 22:53Speaker 4: like his wife calls in some experts or something and
- 22:57Speaker 4: comes up. They come over and the the church guy, Yeah,
- 23:01Speaker 4: he goes to the pastor, and the pastor's like, I
- 23:04Speaker 4: know exactly who to talk to about this, and he
- 23:08Speaker 4: brings him over and it's some fucking demon guy. He's like, ga,
- 23:10Speaker 4: there's some demons all over this place.
- 23:12Speaker 3: He brings holy water and shit, right, what if it worked?
- 23:16Speaker 4: You never know, maybe that was demons. His wife, I
- 23:22Speaker 4: would divorce him if I read this book. If I
- 23:25Speaker 4: was her, like, yeah, her role in this book is
- 23:30Speaker 4: not positive, I would say no.
- 23:34Speaker 2: He he really, at least the way he paints it.
- 23:36Speaker 2: He does not get a ton of support from that wife,
- 23:40Speaker 2: even though she also like cops to having been visited
- 23:44Speaker 2: by aliens.
- 23:46Speaker 4: Yeah before before the preacher comes over to the house,
- 23:49Speaker 4: She's like, yeah, no, I've told I've been I've been
- 23:52Speaker 4: visited every day. This just happens to him multiple times.
- 23:55Speaker 4: Where after a while of him talking about this, someone
- 23:59Speaker 4: is like, oh, yeah, I've experienced that all the time,
- 24:03Speaker 4: but I just don't care, Like it just doesn't bother me.
- 24:05Speaker 4: His mom is the same way.
- 24:07Speaker 2: Yeah, Like I wonder if they're just like, fuck, if
- 24:11Speaker 2: I agree with him, will he stop talking about this?
- 24:14Speaker 4: That might be it? That actually might be it. She's like, yeah, no,
- 24:17Speaker 4: I mean I see it all the time. I just
- 24:19Speaker 4: don't want to talk about it. It's okay. And then
- 24:21Speaker 4: the preacher and the demon guy come over and she's like,
- 24:25Speaker 4: he is out of control. He's been drinking so much.
- 24:28Speaker 4: I don't know what he's talking about. I'm like, holy shit,
- 24:32Speaker 4: this this is not a flattering portrayal of your fucking wife.
- 24:36Speaker 2: Yeah, she definitely takes a turn. And I also feel
- 24:41Speaker 2: like that's our first indication that he was drinking a
- 24:44Speaker 2: whole bunch.
- 24:45Speaker 5: Yes, I don't fee he he says he wasn't like
- 24:49Speaker 5: at the time at least, but he did start drinking heavily.
- 24:52Speaker 5: But he's not an alcoholic, No, he just is you know,
- 24:56Speaker 5: he's just having a hard time.
- 24:57Speaker 4: Man. He just needs to let off little steam.
- 25:01Speaker 2: I mean, what would you do if you're constantly getting
- 25:03Speaker 2: abducted by aliens and forcing to play fun alphabet games
- 25:08Speaker 2: that end with you having sex with anyone in history
- 25:11Speaker 2: that you've ever wanted.
- 25:12Speaker 4: Yeah, I think first what I would do is, you know,
- 25:15Speaker 4: just kind of enjoy that for a while exactly, and
- 25:19Speaker 4: then I would probably start getting high all the time.
- 25:23Speaker 4: But I didn't get high all the time anyway.
- 25:25Speaker 2: So time anyway, Yeah, because I'm hoping it opens a portal.
- 25:29Speaker 3: For me to talk to aliens. I think that's the
- 25:31Speaker 3: wrong drug.
- 25:32Speaker 4: But if it turns out that that happens that if
- 25:37Speaker 4: you've been smoking weed long enough and consistently enough, that
- 25:41Speaker 4: is what the portle opens.
- 25:42Speaker 3: That is what they say about DMT, that you talk
- 25:46Speaker 3: to the aliens.
- 25:48Speaker 4: Well, sure, but that's a little bit more of a
- 25:50Speaker 4: metaphorical to talk to the higher power experience.
- 25:54Speaker 3: So he's kind of an asshole to these aliens.
- 25:58Speaker 4: He's kind of an asshole period.
- 26:01Speaker 2: There's one say, he keeps asking them who they are,
- 26:04Speaker 2: and they finally say, well, we're star people, and.
- 26:07Speaker 4: He's like, first they say we're God, oh right, right.
- 26:11Speaker 2: And then yeah, I like his response to that. He's like,
- 26:14Speaker 2: all right, if you're God, let me choke you, and
- 26:17Speaker 2: if I can hurt you, then you're not God, right,
- 26:19Speaker 2: And they're like shit, And so they say they're star
- 26:29Speaker 2: people and he's like, uh, humans are people.
- 26:31Speaker 3: You can't be people. Try again, damn dude.
- 26:36Speaker 4: Yeah, that's so funny, Like come on, man, we've we've
- 26:40Speaker 4: been having a broader definition for that word for a while,
- 26:43Speaker 4: Like it's you know. Although he does say that he
- 26:46Speaker 4: was not a science fiction fan before all this happened.
- 26:50Speaker 2: Yeah, and he also makes it makes a big point
- 26:54Speaker 2: out of mentioning that he didn't read any other like
- 26:58Speaker 2: alien abduction stories, right or anything before this, because he
- 27:03Speaker 2: doesn't want to have his memories tainted by the memories
- 27:06Speaker 2: of someone else.
- 27:08Speaker 4: Right. But he does name drop Whitley Streiber. Yeah, and
- 27:13Speaker 4: which have you read? Have you read Communion? Maybe that's
- 27:16Speaker 4: why I'm just kind of hard on this book, because
- 27:18Speaker 4: it's just kind of like shittier Communion. I have not
- 27:21Speaker 4: read Communion. Communion is a book that I think is
- 27:25Speaker 4: I mean, at least in my memory. I haven't read
- 27:26Speaker 4: it since I was younger, but like I remember it
- 27:28Speaker 4: being actually well written, yeah, and pretty engaging.
- 27:32Speaker 3: I mean, maybe we'll do that next.
- 27:35Speaker 4: Sure, it's longer. I don't like that it's a longer book. Now,
- 27:39Speaker 4: this book was quite short.
- 27:41Speaker 3: This book is an easy read. I read it this
- 27:44Speaker 3: morning essentially.
- 27:48Speaker 2: Like guys, started at like eight and finished around one
- 27:50Speaker 2: point thirty and now here we are recording.
- 27:53Speaker 4: Yeah, I read it in bits at work.
- 27:56Speaker 3: He's got that famous Arthur C. Clark quote in here.
- 28:00Speaker 4: Yeah. He brings that up any sufficiently.
- 28:03Speaker 2: Advanced technology will appear indistinguishable from magic. Yeah, because he
- 28:09Speaker 2: does talk a lot about alien technology in this that's true.
- 28:13Speaker 3: And I do kind of agree.
- 28:16Speaker 2: I don't know if he makes this exact point, but
- 28:19Speaker 2: when people are debating aliens and you know, extraterrestrial beings
- 28:25Speaker 2: making their way here, and they're like, well, technology doesn't
- 28:28Speaker 2: it would take millions of years. You have to take
- 28:31Speaker 2: into account that if they're coming here, they have technology
- 28:34Speaker 2: we don't.
- 28:35Speaker 4: Yeah. I feel like, if anything, the supposed evidence for
- 28:41Speaker 4: aliens kind of under I've talked about this before, Like,
- 28:45Speaker 4: you know, we're talking about the Roswell UFO crashing because
- 28:49Speaker 4: it got struck by lightning, and I'm like, I just
- 28:52Speaker 4: don't think that of a craft that was capable of
- 28:57Speaker 4: traveling the distances that it would have had to travel
- 29:01Speaker 4: through space, I just don't think that lightning is going
- 29:05Speaker 4: to be its downfall.
- 29:07Speaker 2: Well, on the one hand, I definitely agree with that,
- 29:10Speaker 2: and I have also said a whole lot like why
- 29:13Speaker 2: would we want technology that crashes all the time. But
- 29:18Speaker 2: it seems like the way he describes the alien technology
- 29:24Speaker 2: in this is that, let's say, if you're trying to
- 29:27Speaker 2: get here from space, it's not so much about the
- 29:31Speaker 2: craft you're traveling in as it is like what you
- 29:35Speaker 2: know about space and sure like wormholes and shit, sure,
- 29:41Speaker 2: like it would have to be something like that. Like
- 29:44Speaker 2: he describes these things as being able to like exist
- 29:47Speaker 2: in multiple dimensions, Well.
- 29:49Speaker 4: Yeah, he could. He goes back and forth. I think
- 29:52Speaker 4: he finally lands on them being from another dimension, but
- 29:55Speaker 4: he goes back and forth over whether they're extraterrestrial a
- 30:00Speaker 4: millions or extra dimensional of beings of some kind, right,
- 30:05Speaker 4: and those are those definitely have very different different implications
- 30:10Speaker 4: as far as the technology they would need. And yeah,
- 30:14Speaker 4: I know.
- 30:15Speaker 2: He talks about them being able to like make anything
- 30:18Speaker 2: invisible that they want, right, he talks about the field,
- 30:23Speaker 2: and yes, as it might be like an electromagnetic field.
- 30:26Speaker 4: But he it's kind of the catch all for him.
- 30:29Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 30:29Speaker 2: He his claim is that these aliens he interacts with
- 30:33Speaker 2: are able to access this field that allows them to
- 30:37Speaker 2: do all sorts of crazy shit, which I want.
- 30:41Speaker 4: I want access to that. Yeah, the field, it makes
- 30:44Speaker 4: things invisible, It makes you able to pass through solid
- 30:49Speaker 4: objects but still leave footprints.
- 30:53Speaker 3: Yeah, that was confusing.
- 30:56Speaker 4: Because he talks about how he what part of his
- 31:00Speaker 4: evidence not pictured.
- 31:02Speaker 3: Only an illustration.
- 31:03Speaker 4: Well, of course there's an illustration, but are like dirty
- 31:08Speaker 4: footprints going to a wall towards his garden and there's
- 31:13Speaker 4: a footprint that is half on his carpet and half
- 31:18Speaker 4: in the dirt of the garden. And I'm like, but
- 31:22Speaker 4: you're walking through the wall, then why are you able
- 31:25Speaker 4: to leave any sort of physical trace there? It feels like,
- 31:29Speaker 4: if anything, there should be no footprint where you're walking
- 31:32Speaker 4: through the wall because you're not making contact with anything.
- 31:36Speaker 3: That is a very good point.
- 31:38Speaker 4: But maybe maybe it's so precise that it is just
- 31:43Speaker 4: affecting your interaction with the wall and not anything else.
- 31:48Speaker 2: And I don't know, Maybe you can answer this question
- 31:51Speaker 2: for me, because I'm not sure.
- 31:54Speaker 3: Did we have cameras in nineteen eighty eight.
- 31:57Speaker 4: Yeah, I could have taken a picture of those because
- 32:00Speaker 4: Prince get someone.
- 32:02Speaker 2: This is where the demon guy shows up, because he
- 32:04Speaker 2: goes he get demon guy and is like, look at
- 32:06Speaker 2: these fucking footprints, and guys like I know just what
- 32:10Speaker 2: to do. And that's when he shows up with eggs
- 32:11Speaker 2: and holywater.
- 32:14Speaker 4: So like, where's the pictures?
- 32:16Speaker 3: It's yea, the same problem I have with Ancient Aliens
- 32:20Speaker 3: and Chariots of the Gods, where there's so many parts
- 32:24Speaker 3: in that book where Eric von Danikin is like, you
- 32:27Speaker 3: won't believe what we saw in this chamber, and it's like,
- 32:31Speaker 3: I believe it because you didn't.
- 32:33Speaker 4: Take a picture. The alien evidence is here too, it's
- 32:36Speaker 4: just out of frame laughing, you know, it's that that
- 32:39Speaker 4: Nathan for you picture.
- 32:41Speaker 3: Their number system is based on the six oli of course.
- 32:45Speaker 4: Yeah, but it's not exodecimal. It's some other It's just
- 32:49Speaker 4: they count to six and then they start over from
- 32:53Speaker 4: the beginning. It doesn't really make sense. I don't think
- 32:56Speaker 4: he quite understands how base numerals work because they don't
- 33:00Speaker 4: don't seem to understand the concept of a number greater
- 33:03Speaker 4: than six, which I'm gonna say that's gonna fuck up
- 33:07Speaker 4: your ability to like travel great distances across the space
- 33:12Speaker 4: because it's a lot higher than six. That's true.
- 33:17Speaker 2: I did like the part where he's doing all these
- 33:20Speaker 2: his his lessons, and the way it works is they'll
- 33:24Speaker 2: flash like a word on the screen, like there's like
- 33:28Speaker 2: a screen system. There's a screen in front of him,
- 33:30Speaker 2: and like a tablet that he can like.
- 33:32Speaker 4: Yeah, he's got some sort of on Yeah, like an
- 33:35Speaker 4: entertainment table from like a restaurant.
- 33:37Speaker 3: Yeah, like one of those miss pac Man tables.
- 33:39Speaker 4: That exactly, that's exactly one hundred percent what I was
- 33:44Speaker 4: picturing when he's talking about this.
- 33:47Speaker 3: And along those same lines. At one point, when he's
- 33:50Speaker 3: doing all of these fun games the aliens go compete,
- 33:55Speaker 3: He's like, compete, what do you mean? And he looks
- 33:57Speaker 3: over and his wife is nice to an. Yes, he's
- 34:00Speaker 3: also doing the letters. I like that part.
- 34:03Speaker 4: That was fun. It was fun, and that's what leads
- 34:06Speaker 4: to him confronting her, And yeah, it was. It was interesting.
- 34:10Speaker 4: I was not expecting the wife to like come into
- 34:13Speaker 4: it in that way. And then he like kidnaps her
- 34:16Speaker 4: in the middle of the nights because he doesn't want
- 34:20Speaker 4: to go to the alien school.
- 34:22Speaker 2: And they when they talk about it, she calls them
- 34:24Speaker 2: her helpers from heaven.
- 34:26Speaker 4: Right, Yeah, they they're like angels, They're.
- 34:29Speaker 3: Right, which is also what his mom kind of implies, right.
- 34:34Speaker 4: They both seem to have a much chiller relationship to
- 34:37Speaker 4: the aliens than he does.
- 34:39Speaker 2: Right, despite his mom also being Italian crazy right exactly.
- 34:42Speaker 4: You'd think his mom would have that famous Italian spunk.
- 34:47Speaker 4: Maybe maybe he's just Italian on his dad's side.
- 34:50Speaker 2: So Yeah, he talks to his wife about it, and
- 34:54Speaker 2: a pastor ends up coming over and he's like, it's demons, dude,
- 34:57Speaker 2: it's just deepes. And that's when, Yeah, his wife really
- 35:01Speaker 2: lets him down. She comes in the room and is like,
- 35:03Speaker 2: I don't know what this crazy bitch is talking about.
- 35:06Speaker 4: And that's what he said. That's what she says. It's weird. Yeah,
- 35:09Speaker 4: it's nuts.
- 35:10Speaker 2: So one of the things, yeah, you mentioned him, like
- 35:13Speaker 2: kidnapping his wife in the middle of the night. At
- 35:15Speaker 2: one point, he starts trying to like run away when
- 35:20Speaker 2: these things happen, and it's like, you got to know,
- 35:23Speaker 2: we're playing a different game than that. This isn't a
- 35:27Speaker 2: fucking hurricane, Like, you can't just go somewhere else and
- 35:31Speaker 2: take shelter.
- 35:31Speaker 4: These are aliens, dude, doesn't work.
- 35:35Speaker 3: Aliens that he's already acknowledged have been following his family
- 35:39Speaker 3: bloodline for like a thousand years, which anytime a conspiracy
- 35:43Speaker 3: book says the word bloodline, I'm like, oh.
- 35:47Speaker 4: Weird, yeah, no. That is my favorite part of the
- 35:51Speaker 4: book is when they show him like images of himself
- 36:00Speaker 4: in the place of his ancestors, like a quantum leap
- 36:02Speaker 4: type thing, yes and so like, and then we get
- 36:06Speaker 4: illustrations from all of these different time periods of like, oh,
- 36:10Speaker 4: here's here's mulleted Jim Sparks in the forties. Here's mulded
- 36:15Speaker 4: Jim Sparks in the Renaissance era. He's wearing a floppy hat,
- 36:19Speaker 4: but he still has a mullet and the mustache. I
- 36:22Speaker 4: got that mullet. Yeah. And then it goes all the way.
- 36:25Speaker 4: It doesn't go back thousands, it goes all the way
- 36:27Speaker 4: back again to before. Like it shows him like some
- 36:30Speaker 4: monkeys and they're like, these are your ancestors.
- 36:35Speaker 3: And he's like bullshit.
- 36:37Speaker 2: It's like, dude, like if they can even show you that,
- 36:41Speaker 2: just believe it, right, Like my question, you.
- 36:44Speaker 4: Know, I don't know, man, how is that so difficult
- 36:46Speaker 4: to believe? Why else are they picking your hay seed ass?
- 36:49Speaker 4: Like it doesn't make any sense otherwise they didn't know
- 36:52Speaker 4: that you would turn into the tip stereotypical Florida man.
- 36:57Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 36:57Speaker 2: One of their challenges. He shows up and there's an
- 37:00Speaker 2: ant on.
- 37:01Speaker 4: The table, yes, oh yeah yeah, And they.
- 37:04Speaker 2: Show him a symbol and at first it just says
- 37:07Speaker 2: kill and he's like kill what And they're like, dude,
- 37:10Speaker 2: we obviously mean the fucking ant on the table in
- 37:13Speaker 2: front of you, and they're like, just draw the symbol
- 37:16Speaker 2: to kill the ant please, right, and he makes this
- 37:19Speaker 2: like bold moral stance of like I.
- 37:22Speaker 4: Will not kill for you, sir.
- 37:25Speaker 3: Yeah, like I would have just fucking slapped it with
- 37:28Speaker 3: my hand.
- 37:29Speaker 4: Yeah, that's kind of.
- 37:32Speaker 3: Draw a symbol, like, oh.
- 37:34Speaker 4: We don't need here on earth, we don't need symbols
- 37:37Speaker 4: to kill ants.
- 37:38Speaker 3: Yeah, who's the evolved one?
- 37:40Speaker 2: He does talk having a big, stupid mediaass hands that
- 37:44Speaker 2: they probably can't do anything with.
- 37:47Speaker 3: Right, He's like, but it's fine.
- 37:48Speaker 2: All of their all of their equipment runs on telepathy.
- 37:53Speaker 2: It's like who built it, right then? What did their
- 37:57Speaker 2: hands look like?
- 37:59Speaker 3: But they were just asking him with the ant thing
- 38:01Speaker 3: to make sure he's not a killer.
- 38:03Speaker 4: Right right, Like you aren't? Well, okay, sure, yeah, here's.
- 38:09Speaker 2: How you improve this book. He kills one of them
- 38:11Speaker 2: right in that moment. It's like, oh no, h snap
- 38:17Speaker 2: a neck movie.
- 38:17Speaker 4: Let's how you know it happened, because that would have
- 38:19Speaker 4: been a better story choice.
- 38:22Speaker 2: Yeah, And so he starts getting like people, he's trying
- 38:26Speaker 2: to talk to people about this and no one's really
- 38:29Speaker 2: buying it. His wife is like sort of supportive, but
- 38:32Speaker 2: also it seems like they just sort of stopped living
- 38:35Speaker 2: together eventually.
- 38:36Speaker 4: Yeah, he's spent a lot of his time in North Carolina. Yeah,
- 38:40Speaker 4: now he talks about it. He doesn't get into it,
- 38:42Speaker 4: but he talks about later how like they kind of
- 38:45Speaker 4: become estranged and then reconnect later on.
- 38:49Speaker 3: Now, I had a really, uh problematic point in this book.
- 38:56Speaker 3: Not problematic, but.
- 38:58Speaker 2: There's that part where he goes go to a meeting
- 39:01Speaker 2: with a bunch of other people who have all been abducted,
- 39:05Speaker 2: and for some reason my version of the book, it
- 39:09Speaker 2: just like it's got to be like a glitch or something.
- 39:13Speaker 2: But it's just like it skips all past, like he's
- 39:17Speaker 2: just all of a sudden at the meeting.
- 39:18Speaker 3: Yeah, what meeting are we talking about?
- 39:21Speaker 4: Yeah, I've ran into a couple of things like that.
- 39:24Speaker 4: I do think it is it's either a really unprofessional
- 39:30Speaker 4: editing job by the publisher there's or it's some sort
- 39:35Speaker 4: of ebook printing error. Maybe Yeah, But again, I don't
- 39:40Speaker 4: have a physical copy to like compare it to, and
- 39:43Speaker 4: I'm not going to seek it out because it's thirty dollars.
- 39:46Speaker 4: And if I'm going to spend thirty dollars on a book,
- 39:48Speaker 4: it's going to be about like some old boat or
- 39:51Speaker 4: or like a monster or something like it's not going
- 39:54Speaker 4: to be about this.
- 39:56Speaker 3: And the thing about that meeting, it doesn't it doesn't matter,
- 40:00Speaker 3: Like he doesn't he doesn't really talk about it. He
- 40:02Speaker 3: just like talks about, Yeah, I found a meeting where
- 40:05Speaker 3: I could talk to other people who've been.
- 40:06Speaker 4: Abducted, right, it's like move on or something.
- 40:09Speaker 2: Yeah, And so he talks about the letter H being
- 40:13Speaker 2: his big problem letter.
- 40:15Speaker 4: Ye can't. He can't even reproduce it in the book.
- 40:18Speaker 4: It's so tough.
- 40:21Speaker 2: This is the point in the book where he just
- 40:24Speaker 2: straight up asked the aliens, so like, if if you
- 40:28Speaker 2: can just like travel the universe like this, can you
- 40:31Speaker 2: just take me with you? And they're like yeah, yeah,
- 40:34Speaker 2: And he goes, will you bring me back? And they're
- 40:36Speaker 2: like no, no, of course not.
- 40:39Speaker 3: You just come with us.
- 40:40Speaker 4: And you know what I would say, I would say, yes, yes,
- 40:45Speaker 4: please me away from here.
- 40:47Speaker 3: I think that has happened because Jim Sparks is gone.
- 40:51Speaker 4: If it has, then God bless him.
- 40:53Speaker 3: His website no longer exists. He is not a voice
- 40:57Speaker 3: in the UFO community anymore because a lot of what
- 41:00Speaker 3: he talks about is the same shit Stephen Greer is
- 41:03Speaker 3: talking about now.
- 41:05Speaker 4: Yeah, but from a very wayless exploitative angle. I prefer
- 41:11Speaker 4: Jim Sparks's version to Griers.
- 41:14Speaker 2: Oh for sure. But all I'm getting at is where
- 41:17Speaker 2: is Jim Sparks. Sure, he for the longest time was
- 41:21Speaker 2: like the leading voice when it comes to the idea
- 41:23Speaker 2: that the government is suppressing alien technology that could fix
- 41:28Speaker 2: global warming. Like it seems like that message started with him.
- 41:33Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 41:33Speaker 2: Now, like if he died, I can't find anything about
- 41:36Speaker 2: him dying. Like, no, he just around twenty thirteen just
- 41:42Speaker 2: falls off the face of the internet.
- 41:44Speaker 4: Have you searched for and I haven't, So I can't
- 41:47Speaker 4: corroborate Vincent whatever battalion his name is.
- 41:52Speaker 2: I did that right before we were Yeah, and there's
- 41:55Speaker 2: some out there, but number like Jim Sparks.
- 41:59Speaker 4: No, no, well it's and mustaches. Can't get over how
- 42:04Speaker 4: good these pictures are. They are the absolute highlight of
- 42:08Speaker 4: the book. Yeah, every single one is awesome.
- 42:11Speaker 3: It's worth it for the illustrations'.
- 42:14Speaker 4: They're all so we should probably we should like scan
- 42:17Speaker 4: some and include him in the episode notes or something,
- 42:20Speaker 4: so people, because like you really, we can't convey the
- 42:25Speaker 4: energy of these illustrations. They're so good.
- 42:31Speaker 3: Yeah, it looks like King of the Hill a little bit.
- 42:34Speaker 4: A little bit, a little bit. It's kind of like
- 42:38Speaker 4: The Gang meets Aliens and King of the Hill. It's
- 42:40Speaker 4: so good, I tell you.
- 42:42Speaker 2: My absolute favorite part of this book is the uh
- 42:47Speaker 2: chapter called the Gift where they bring him in a
- 42:52Speaker 2: room and to like thank him for his service or whatever.
- 42:55Speaker 3: They're like, hey, right, we got you a gift.
- 42:58Speaker 2: Here it is, and it's just this black box right
- 43:02Speaker 2: that at first he can't figure out how to open.
- 43:04Speaker 4: No, but it stinks, it smells bad.
- 43:07Speaker 2: Well, he finally gets it open, right, and he's like,
- 43:10Speaker 2: the smell was terrible. There were these like tubes full
- 43:14Speaker 2: of liquid in there, and then there was this like thick,
- 43:17Speaker 2: dark liquid at the bottom that yeah, really stunk. And
- 43:20Speaker 2: I asked him what it was and they were like, oh,
- 43:23Speaker 2: we pulled that out of your lungs. You're welcome, and
- 43:26Speaker 2: he said he was a smoker at the time.
- 43:30Speaker 4: That's fun. I like that. That's a fun thing for
- 43:33Speaker 4: the Aliens to do with their like human examination technologies,
- 43:37Speaker 4: you know.
- 43:38Speaker 3: But it's also kind of a conflict because he also
- 43:43Speaker 3: kind of makes them out to be like not dumb,
- 43:46Speaker 3: but just like not understanding of how like sympathy and
- 43:51Speaker 3: compassion work, right, but also they're like, oh, well, we're
- 43:55Speaker 3: going to fix your lung cancer.
- 43:56Speaker 4: Though well I yeah, well, I mean, but again, I
- 43:59Speaker 4: don't think it's I think it's not sympathy or compassion
- 44:03Speaker 4: in that moment. It's a gift, like they're saying, like
- 44:06Speaker 4: it's like, well, we've been doing this for so long,
- 44:09Speaker 4: we might as well give you a little something back.
- 44:11Speaker 4: So here, here's all of the tar out of your
- 44:13Speaker 4: lungs that you've been pumping into there. We probably should
- 44:17Speaker 4: stop doing that.
- 44:18Speaker 3: I love all of the seamen extraction scenes so weird.
- 44:23Speaker 4: That's just one of those things that every alien abduction
- 44:27Speaker 4: story is kind of obsessed with.
- 44:29Speaker 2: But also like they can do all of this advanced shit,
- 44:32Speaker 2: but they still can't get semen out of a person
- 44:35Speaker 2: without jerking on.
- 44:37Speaker 4: Well they can, but they like to do it. They can,
- 44:41Speaker 4: they talk about it. We can do it artificially, or
- 44:44Speaker 4: we can do it naturally, he said, they say, and
- 44:48Speaker 4: naturally means you fuck this like portapussy that has a
- 44:55Speaker 4: hologram of a little of a naked lady on it,
- 44:58Speaker 4: and uh, that's natural. And then artificial is they've got
- 45:02Speaker 4: the wand but.
- 45:03Speaker 2: It does prompt Jim at one point to shout, this
- 45:06Speaker 2: is not natural, which is fair.
- 45:12Speaker 4: I would say that's fair. I'd say natural was the
- 45:15Speaker 4: wrong word choice for them, probably probably, Uh yeah, the
- 45:20Speaker 4: rod like electrically stimulates his prostate or something.
- 45:25Speaker 2: Yeah, he's just like Jesus in five seconds exactly.
- 45:29Speaker 4: God, so fucking weird.
- 45:32Speaker 2: So I also love the part where whenever he's being unruly,
- 45:37Speaker 2: the aliens will sometimes just tri morphing into cops.
- 45:41Speaker 3: Yeah, like that seems.
- 45:42Speaker 4: Like police or like military officers and stuff.
- 45:45Speaker 2: Because they're like, well, these idiots respect cops.
- 45:49Speaker 4: Right, these are the authority figures on this planet.
- 45:52Speaker 2: If we turn into cops who he's going to be
- 45:54Speaker 2: afraid will arrest him. That's yeah, this man from bed
- 45:58Speaker 2: and taking him on.
- 45:59Speaker 4: A space ship. Yeah, but he doesn't want to go
- 46:01Speaker 4: to rest. That's nothing compared to American prison.
- 46:05Speaker 2: Yeah, it's nothing. He wants to get a ticket over,
- 46:08Speaker 2: that's for sure. So he keeps asking them at one
- 46:13Speaker 2: point like why me, Why me? Right, they're not answering him,
- 46:17Speaker 2: they're not answering him, and eventually they're like, all right,
- 46:20Speaker 2: ask your question the way we taught you, like write
- 46:22Speaker 2: it in our symbols and then yes, And so he
- 46:26Speaker 2: finally does that, and they answer him by way of
- 46:29Speaker 2: showing him something you already described. They show him all
- 46:34Speaker 2: these scenes throughout history, right, and there are people who
- 46:38Speaker 2: look just like him in each of these scenes. One
- 46:41Speaker 2: of them it's World War two and he's as like,
- 46:46Speaker 2: so that's a bad look.
- 46:49Speaker 4: That was that was a very very funny The first
- 46:51Speaker 4: thing he sees is him hanging out with a bunch
- 46:53Speaker 4: of Nazis. I'm like, okay, buddy, I probably would have
- 46:57Speaker 4: left this part of the story out.
- 46:59Speaker 2: Yeah, And what's that say about the Aliens? Like, I'm
- 47:03Speaker 2: always that's that's that's long been a question of mine,
- 47:06Speaker 2: Like do the Aliens agree with the Nazis? Because it does,
- 47:09Speaker 2: Like I hear so many stories about the Nazis having
- 47:13Speaker 2: alien technology. That was like sure to them, it's like,
- 47:16Speaker 2: I got aliens hate Jews to own.
- 47:20Speaker 4: Yeah, Aliens, they're white supremacists. They're they're the whites of
- 47:24Speaker 4: their species.
- 47:26Speaker 3: Could be. But also, this doesn't explain why they picked him.
- 47:30Speaker 3: They just show him a bunch of his ancestors throughout history.
- 47:34Speaker 4: Well, it's I think the point is, I mean, I'm
- 47:36Speaker 4: giving this guy so much benefit of the doubt, but whatever.
- 47:40Speaker 4: I think the point of that sequence is we didn't
- 47:43Speaker 4: pick you, We picked this monkey, and you are the
- 47:47Speaker 4: latest version right of this monkey. I think that's literally it.
- 47:51Speaker 4: I think it's just you know, we we got here
- 47:55Speaker 4: and you guys were hanging out in the savannah and
- 47:58Speaker 4: we were like, we'll tag bag this monkey, and then
- 48:02Speaker 4: over the millennia it evolved into you. Jim sparks, to.
- 48:07Speaker 3: Which he says, bullshit. You guys were trying to tell
- 48:10Speaker 3: me that you had something to do with human evolution,
- 48:13Speaker 3: and yeah, that's what they're trying to say.
- 48:15Speaker 4: And yeah, basically, I don't know, Like I said, like
- 48:18Speaker 4: a lot of these they do start to blend into
- 48:21Speaker 4: each other. I kind of. I know, he meets his
- 48:26Speaker 4: his weird fake daughter at one point.
- 48:29Speaker 2: Yeah, but before that, at the end of this encounter
- 48:33Speaker 2: where they show Jim that he was a fascist during
- 48:37Speaker 2: World War Two at the end and I found this
- 48:41Speaker 2: part weird just because this doesn't sound like how Aliens
- 48:44Speaker 2: would talk. But they tell him we've been around for
- 48:47Speaker 2: a while, right this. I don't think Aliens would say, eh,
- 48:50Speaker 2: you know, we've been here for a while a little bit, right, Like, well.
- 48:54Speaker 4: Maybe that's just how his brain is interpreting their telepathic signals.
- 48:58Speaker 2: We've been working on your personal family line. We know you, well,
- 49:02Speaker 2: humans are ours.
- 49:04Speaker 3: Yeah, sure, I don't like that.
- 49:06Speaker 4: Yeah, they're not very tactful, these aliens.
- 49:09Speaker 2: And yeah, it's around chapter twelve where he starts talking
- 49:12Speaker 2: about drinking as much as he was, but then he
- 49:14Speaker 2: says he sobered up and quit drinking, but damn a
- 49:19Speaker 2: lot of that happened while he was really.
- 49:21Speaker 3: Hitting the bottle.
- 49:22Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, so yeah, I just don't think we can, like,
- 49:26Speaker 4: I don't know that we can. We'll have the time
- 49:28Speaker 4: to break down every single thing that happened, because there
- 49:31Speaker 4: is a there's like, there's just a bunch of very
- 49:34Speaker 4: similar abduction incidents happened that he describes over and over again.
- 49:39Speaker 2: Not just that, but there's a point where he's like,
- 49:42Speaker 2: well there were more abductions, but I'm not going to
- 49:44Speaker 2: bore you with the details. And then it's like ten
- 49:47Speaker 2: more chapters that are just more stories about him being
- 49:51Speaker 2: abducted by an.
- 49:52Speaker 4: Ons, and it never they never like get back to
- 49:56Speaker 4: the same initial like you are as shocked as your
- 50:00Speaker 4: going to be by this story, by the first story,
- 50:02Speaker 4: you know. Yeah, And it's kind of diminishing returns with
- 50:06Speaker 4: every other one.
- 50:07Speaker 2: I also, I am really suspicious whenever a book like
- 50:12Speaker 2: this or a documentary talks about being visited by the
- 50:16Speaker 2: government and being three yes by.
- 50:19Speaker 4: Oh yeah, we haven't talked about the men in Black
- 50:21Speaker 4: at all.
- 50:21Speaker 2: Because there's yeah, there's a pair of men in black,
- 50:24Speaker 2: one of them who drives a white van, which that
- 50:26Speaker 2: was interesting, but they basically show up and they're like, Jim,
- 50:31Speaker 2: if that is your real name, Uh, you got to
- 50:34Speaker 2: stop talking about this stuff the way you are, or
- 50:36Speaker 2: you know, yeah.
- 50:37Speaker 3: We'll fucking kill you.
- 50:39Speaker 4: And now here this is a book, right, he's writing
- 50:42Speaker 4: the book. And also like at that point that he's
- 50:45Speaker 4: getting followed by the men in Black, he's talked to
- 50:48Speaker 4: like three people, none of whom believed him. So I
- 50:52Speaker 4: just don't know why he is now considered such a
- 50:56Speaker 4: threat to the government or whoever the men in Black
- 50:59Speaker 4: are that are gonna seek him out about it. I
- 51:02Speaker 4: just don't like, you're kind of making yourself a little
- 51:04Speaker 4: too important there, Jim. Yeah.
- 51:07Speaker 3: Yeah, at that point, they really didn't have any reason
- 51:11Speaker 3: to track Jimp down.
- 51:13Speaker 4: No, like unless they're just literally tracking everybody, in which
- 51:16Speaker 4: case that's a lot of manpower. Hey, I like that.
- 51:21Speaker 3: He had a little graduation ceremony from from me.
- 51:23Speaker 5: Oh yeah, yeah, Like they gave him a cat like
- 51:28Speaker 5: a cap.
- 51:29Speaker 3: With a right a little tassels on it.
- 51:30Speaker 4: They all have like noise makers.
- 51:34Speaker 2: Yeah, there's this is the quote. The abductions continued. I
- 51:37Speaker 2: won't bore you. They got to be routine.
- 51:40Speaker 3: But around this time something else happened of note, And
- 51:42Speaker 3: I'm pretty sure that something else is also like another alien.
- 51:45Speaker 4: It's another production or it's like the Men in Black
- 51:47Speaker 4: following him.
- 51:48Speaker 3: Yeah, there's the scene where he sees the phoenix.
- 51:51Speaker 4: Sure, there's a scene speaking of the Men in Black
- 51:53Speaker 4: where he goes to the FBI and then he like
- 51:58Speaker 4: he talks to a guy from the FBI who's like, yeah,
- 52:00Speaker 4: you know, we'll we'll look into it whatever. And then
- 52:03Speaker 4: as he walks out, they see the Men in Black
- 52:07Speaker 4: guys in their car and the FBI guy like waves
- 52:11Speaker 4: to him.
- 52:14Speaker 3: And was Jim in that moment not like oh hey
- 52:17Speaker 3: who are they?
- 52:18Speaker 4: Like? I know he was too stunned to ask a
- 52:21Speaker 4: question and he just knew that he was going to
- 52:25Speaker 4: be ignored more. But yeah that you show him a phoenix,
- 52:29Speaker 4: they show him his fake daughter.
- 52:31Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm at the illustration of his daughter right now.
- 52:35Speaker 4: And oh yeah, that's a weird one.
- 52:37Speaker 3: Yeah, she's a fucking weirdo. I don't like it.
- 52:39Speaker 4: So he's a fucking freak. I would not claim that
- 52:41Speaker 4: as my child's.
- 52:43Speaker 3: Oh wait, maybe he didn't do these illustrations, because this
- 52:45Speaker 3: one is signed. It says Galante at the bottom.
- 52:48Speaker 4: WHOA, I didn't notice that.
- 52:51Speaker 2: And we know that's not her name because the caption
- 52:54Speaker 2: under it is my nameless daughter.
- 52:57Speaker 4: Right, yeah, so.
- 52:59Speaker 3: Galante, this is a Galante original.
- 53:04Speaker 4: I like it. Okay, Well, if he paid money for these,
- 53:08Speaker 4: then he got ripped off as much as I like them.
- 53:13Speaker 2: And so you mentioned that this book gets a little repetitive. Yes,
- 53:17Speaker 2: it definitely starts repetitive, like he really drags out those
- 53:22Speaker 2: alien encounters, and then he gets to the part where
- 53:27Speaker 2: he really gets to his message and the sure alien
- 53:32Speaker 2: message for the human race.
- 53:34Speaker 4: I mean, it's basically in the final chapters of the book,
- 53:37Speaker 4: because the last couple chapters are all other people talking
- 53:41Speaker 4: about how great Jim Sparks is.
- 53:43Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, there's a there's a crazy ass like mass
- 53:47Speaker 2: abduction thing that happens.
- 53:49Speaker 4: Oh yeah, that was weird.
- 53:50Speaker 2: Yeah, where he's like put in charge of calming everyone
- 53:53Speaker 2: else down, like the aliens are like recruiting him as help.
- 53:58Speaker 4: Now yeah, again, I don't know why he's the one
- 54:02Speaker 4: task with all this with his mullet, but well he's
- 54:06Speaker 4: just either yeah, that's true. That is true.
- 54:09Speaker 2: And it's around the time of that mass abduction where
- 54:12Speaker 2: he gets to the alien message for Earth, which is
- 54:17Speaker 2: you are killing your planet.
- 54:18Speaker 3: Your planet is dying.
- 54:20Speaker 4: Hey, stop it, and like facts that's true.
- 54:25Speaker 2: Yeah, but I still don't there's a lot of this
- 54:29Speaker 2: that just doesn't add up for me, especially the time
- 54:33Speaker 2: travel part, because he near the end of this book
- 54:38Speaker 2: starts really beating us over the head with how important
- 54:42Speaker 2: it is to take better care of the environment or
- 54:45Speaker 2: the world is going to essentially end. But then he's
- 54:48Speaker 2: also like, you know, we just have waves and waves
- 54:51Speaker 2: of people from like thirty thousand years in the future
- 54:53Speaker 2: coming back and visiting us, and it's like, so we
- 54:57Speaker 2: figure it out.
- 54:57Speaker 4: Then, is that what you're doing at Yeah.
- 55:00Speaker 3: Clearly humanity did it. Yeah, I'm traveler's coming back.
- 55:05Speaker 4: Thirty thousand years is quite far in the future. Yeah,
- 55:09Speaker 4: if it's if that is still before the climate catastrophe
- 55:13Speaker 4: is going to destroy us because we are bad to
- 55:16Speaker 4: our planet. Then I feel like that's actually a pretty
- 55:18Speaker 4: good run and we could probably figure things out by then.
- 55:21Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, that's not bad. That is not bad at all.
- 55:25Speaker 2: And yeah, that that's the point where this book really
- 55:30Speaker 2: started to kind of drag for me, because every chapter
- 55:34Speaker 2: at the end is just some variation of him being like,
- 55:38Speaker 2: we have to save the planet, right, the only responsible
- 55:41Speaker 2: thing you can do is start buying land in the
- 55:43Speaker 2: Amazon rainforest.
- 55:45Speaker 4: Yeah, it feels like Jim Sparks was really impacted by
- 55:48Speaker 4: Captain Planet. It just really it changed his whole worldview,
- 55:53Speaker 4: and now he wants to advocate for the climate. And look,
- 55:56Speaker 4: and I'm making fun, but legitimately that is a perfectly
- 56:02Speaker 4: noble thing for you to make your alien abduction book about.
- 56:07Speaker 4: And I agree, And obviously, like the climate is hugely
- 56:10Speaker 4: important and we need to take care of it and
- 56:13Speaker 4: we are fucking it up. Do I think aliens give
- 56:16Speaker 4: a shit? I don't think aliens care, but I do
- 56:20Speaker 4: think obviously that's good to talk about.
- 56:23Speaker 2: Yeah, Like the message is perfectly fine, like, wo, you
- 56:27Speaker 2: need to take better care of the planet. It's just
- 56:30Speaker 2: that I don't know, like so much of what he's saying,
- 56:35Speaker 2: even though he's like, well, it's not like I don't
- 56:39Speaker 2: read any other accounts of this stuff because I don't
- 56:42Speaker 2: want it.
- 56:42Speaker 3: To cloud my description.
- 56:44Speaker 2: But also a lot of what he's describing was in
- 56:47Speaker 2: like behold a pale horse and shit like that, Like
- 56:50Speaker 2: this idea that he met with aliens and made some
- 56:53Speaker 2: kind of agreement that we have since violated, Like that
- 56:57Speaker 2: predates Jim Sparks for all of his talk about not
- 57:01Speaker 2: being influenced by anything else, Like.
- 57:04Speaker 4: Right, that does still, yeah, like that's basically what that is.
- 57:09Speaker 3: One of the.
- 57:10Speaker 2: Things I found interesting that I don't think I've heard
- 57:14Speaker 2: in any other book like this or anyone else who
- 57:18Speaker 2: talks about this idea that the government has suppressed technology
- 57:22Speaker 2: that would end global warming. He is adamant that we
- 57:27Speaker 2: need an amnesty program, as are the aliens. They are
- 57:30Speaker 2: adamant that there needs to be an amnesty program so
- 57:34Speaker 2: all of these government officials who've been hiding this stuff
- 57:39Speaker 2: can come forward and give it to us without fear of,
- 57:43Speaker 2: you know, being charged with crimes against humanity for letting
- 57:47Speaker 2: so many people die.
- 57:48Speaker 4: And you know what, sure, yeah, why why not get
- 57:51Speaker 4: I'll get on board with that, Yeah, amnesty for everybody
- 57:54Speaker 4: hiding alien technology, and like.
- 57:57Speaker 2: He is right that if that were the case, saving
- 58:00Speaker 2: the planet is probably the bigger concern over shaped Neuremberg
- 58:05Speaker 2: trialing a bunch of people who hid alien propulsion tech
- 58:10Speaker 2: in the back of the Pentagon, right, I don't know
- 58:12Speaker 2: that the Pentagon has a back.
- 58:14Speaker 3: That's not how shapes like the Pentagon work.
- 58:16Speaker 2: But yeah, there's He's got all these quotes about how
- 58:20Speaker 2: basically the Aliens made this agreement with the government, gave
- 58:25Speaker 2: us all this technology that was supposed to fix global warming,
- 58:28Speaker 2: and we just used it for war. Yeah, now we're
- 58:31Speaker 2: kind of screwed. And now that does sound like us.
- 58:35Speaker 4: That is a very human thing. Yeah, he kind of
- 58:39Speaker 4: got us with that one.
- 58:40Speaker 2: And this part comes up in the episode we just
- 58:44Speaker 2: did about those UFO hearings and the question of whether
- 58:49Speaker 2: a letter from Aliens was read during those UFO hearings.
- 58:53Speaker 4: Sure, it was.
- 58:54Speaker 3: Read during a different UFO hearing.
- 58:56Speaker 2: But the letter comes from this book and here is
- 59:00Speaker 2: I won't read all of it.
- 59:01Speaker 3: Although the print is very big.
- 59:03Speaker 4: It's very long. Your air, your.
- 59:06Speaker 2: Water are contaminated, Your forest, jungles, trees, and plant life
- 59:10Speaker 2: are dying. There are several breaks in your food chain.
- 59:14Speaker 2: You have an overwhelming amount of nuclear and biological weapons,
- 59:17Speaker 2: which include nuclear and biological contamination. Your planet is over populated.
- 59:24Speaker 2: That part I agree with. And I could just make
- 59:26Speaker 2: a list of the people I think we could do without.
- 59:30Speaker 4: Oh sure, Yeah, that's never gone wrong before. I think
- 59:33Speaker 4: that's a good idea.
- 59:35Speaker 3: Exactly.
- 59:36Speaker 4: Its always a good idea to make lists of undesirables.
- 59:41Speaker 4: I think that works out well every time. Yeah, that's
- 59:43Speaker 4: exactly what I'm saying, Olivia.
- 59:44Speaker 3: I'm glad we're on the same page. And yeah, that
- 59:47Speaker 3: once he gets to that point, there's still good sixty
- 59:51Speaker 3: seventy pages left in the book. Yes, and wow, he
- 59:56Speaker 3: just really hits on that point over.
- 59:59Speaker 4: Yes he does. And then, like I said, it's like
- 1:00:02Speaker 4: a good forty pages of that is people being like
- 1:00:05Speaker 4: this Jim Sparks guy, he's unbelievable. There's never been a
- 1:00:08Speaker 4: guy like this before. He's the biggest man who ever lived.
- 1:00:13Speaker 4: And that is like the last several pages of this book.
- 1:00:18Speaker 4: And I did not read that. I'm not gonna lie sorry.
- 1:00:22Speaker 2: Once I realized the end was just other people, I
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: skipped a lot of that.
- 1:00:25Speaker 4: Yeah, shit, there's like a supposedly an academic paper studying
- 1:00:31Speaker 4: the alien language samples. I'm like, okay, whatever, body.
- 1:00:37Speaker 2: Yeah, And one of the first lines in that is
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: something like compared to other alien writings, It's like, okay,
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: what Yeah.
- 1:00:44Speaker 4: Well, it's also like, you know, when you look at them,
- 1:00:48Speaker 4: it does appear like they are very human in nature
- 1:00:51Speaker 4: and could have easily been made by a human. And
- 1:00:53Speaker 4: I'm like, yeah, you're right. That is the feeling that
- 1:00:55Speaker 4: I get when I look at them. They do look
- 1:00:58Speaker 4: like they were made by people.
- 1:00:59Speaker 2: He does finally describe what these aliens look like, because
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: they do this thing where they can like image project
- 1:01:08Speaker 2: and just kind.
- 1:01:09Speaker 4: Of calls it screen imaging, which is a very specific term,
- 1:01:13Speaker 4: and I found really funny like that just it's not
- 1:01:16Speaker 4: really what that term means.
- 1:01:18Speaker 3: This is what he describes them as.
- 1:01:20Speaker 2: They were big, alright, Their upper bodies look like football linebackers.
- 1:01:25Speaker 2: As the light became brighter and the details clearer, beer
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: and shock did course through me like lightning. They had scales,
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: and their faces were sort of snakelike or lizard like,
- 1:01:36Speaker 2: nothing at all like the smaller aliens. So we're talking
- 1:01:39Speaker 2: reptilians now and.
- 1:01:40Speaker 4: Right, But can I say that has the best illustration.
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: Yes, because for one thing in the illustration, the thing
- 1:01:51Speaker 2: just has like a normal ass face.
- 1:01:53Speaker 4: But it's like but it's like on the end of
- 1:01:56Speaker 4: a stalk. It's so bizarre. It's like the face is
- 1:02:03Speaker 4: like pushed forward. It's so weird.
- 1:02:06Speaker 2: And the look on Jim Spark's face in this is
- 1:02:09Speaker 2: great too. No, he definitely farmed this out because this
- 1:02:13Speaker 2: one is also signed by Gallante.
- 1:02:15Speaker 4: God maybe he's Ganevo.
- 1:02:17Speaker 3: Imagine drawing this and being like, yeah.
- 1:02:20Speaker 4: Helly ok, this is perfect, I'm putting my name on it.
- 1:02:27Speaker 3: And yeah.
- 1:02:28Speaker 2: The chapter I think I found most interesting at the
- 1:02:32Speaker 2: end is uh oh, come on, yeah, chapter twenty two.
- 1:02:36Speaker 3: It's called What I Have Learned.
- 1:02:38Speaker 2: Yeah, and he just like runs through all of this different,
- 1:02:43Speaker 2: like all the different abilities these aliens have, like dimensional blending,
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: alien healings. And there's a a fun moment where he
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: gets like a chest infection and the aliens show up
- 1:02:58Speaker 2: and cure it.
- 1:02:59Speaker 3: For some reason, it's.
- 1:03:00Speaker 4: Like why they're just they're pros.
- 1:03:04Speaker 3: Is this where the black Helicopters thing came from?
- 1:03:07Speaker 4: No, Black helicopters predate this. Yeah, this book talks about
- 1:03:12Speaker 4: X files and the Black helicopters are part of X
- 1:03:14Speaker 4: files A sure, because he does X files is a
- 1:03:18Speaker 4: is a kind of a catch all bin for nineties
- 1:03:22Speaker 4: conspiracy thinking.
- 1:03:24Speaker 3: Barack Obama.
- 1:03:25Speaker 2: I think one of the best things he did when
- 1:03:28Speaker 2: he was in office, or like my favorite thing he
- 1:03:30Speaker 2: did when he was in office, Yeah, was that time
- 1:03:33Speaker 2: someone asked him about the black helicopters and if they exist,
- 1:03:37Speaker 2: and he just goes, yeah, but not for that.
- 1:03:42Speaker 4: It's like, all right, like that, I mean, well, probably thrones.
- 1:03:48Speaker 3: That you assassinate American citizens.
- 1:03:51Speaker 4: With exactly, like you know, it's probably for some nefarious
- 1:03:55Speaker 4: military purpose. Absolutely, It's like, it's not aliens, We're just
- 1:04:00Speaker 4: killing people.
- 1:04:01Speaker 2: But yeah, he Jim Sparks in this book claims the
- 1:04:04Speaker 2: black helicopters they respond whenever someone's been abducted by aliens,
- 1:04:10Speaker 2: there's this residue, like their energy sticks with you and
- 1:04:15Speaker 2: it goes out into the atmosphere. And he's like, the
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: black helicopters are tracking that down and.
- 1:04:21Speaker 4: Cool, cool, whatever you say, buddy, And.
- 1:04:26Speaker 3: Yeah, like by the end, it really turns into a
- 1:04:29Speaker 3: save the planet, stop eating beef kind of and listen,
- 1:04:33Speaker 3: Jim fucking love a burger.
- 1:04:35Speaker 4: Yeah, Like, look, I want to save the planet. And
- 1:04:38Speaker 4: if if the end of beef production like happens as
- 1:04:43Speaker 4: a means of state of making that happen, then I'll
- 1:04:47Speaker 4: grin and bear it. But in the meantime, when if
- 1:04:50Speaker 4: there's beef available, I'm gonna eat it.
- 1:04:53Speaker 3: I'm sorry, I like, yeah, I'm gonna eat a steak.
- 1:04:55Speaker 3: Tell you that much.
- 1:04:56Speaker 4: How cow is the tastiest animal there is. There's just
- 1:05:00Speaker 4: know two ways about it. The best animal.
- 1:05:03Speaker 3: Yeah, it's probably just the best animal.
- 1:05:05Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:05:06Speaker 3: He talks about alien human hybrids all that.
- 1:05:10Speaker 4: Shit, like all the hits. Yeah, I mean again, like
- 1:05:13Speaker 4: we're not we're not gonna we can't hit everything because
- 1:05:17Speaker 4: it's a it's a fucking book. But like you know,
- 1:05:23Speaker 4: he definitely he touches on all the big alien hallmarks.
- 1:05:27Speaker 3: So to summarize, should people read this book, I.
- 1:05:31Speaker 4: Mean, I really don't think that it's necessary. You've seen
- 1:05:35Speaker 4: most of this somewhere else if you want, if you
- 1:05:39Speaker 4: have a means. The thing is that you basically can
- 1:05:42Speaker 4: only read it by spending money on it, And I
- 1:05:45Speaker 4: can't recommend that if you If you found it at
- 1:05:49Speaker 4: your local library, it is available, like I know, it's
- 1:05:51Speaker 4: available in the reference section at the LA Public Library
- 1:05:56Speaker 4: the Central Division. So you know, if you have a
- 1:06:01Speaker 4: means of seeking it out for free from a library
- 1:06:05Speaker 4: or something, sure, but otherwise I cannot recommend it. No.
- 1:06:10Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean I don't think it's like the worst
- 1:06:14Speaker 3: in terms of writing. It's not terrible, and his descriptions
- 1:06:18Speaker 3: of the encounters with the aliens are entertaining.
- 1:06:22Speaker 4: It's a quick read, like his writing is very easy
- 1:06:25Speaker 4: to understand and straightforward, and he gets to the point basically.
- 1:06:31Speaker 2: It's just also that we've hit the point in the
- 1:06:34Speaker 2: UFO debate or UAP sorry, sure, where I don't trust anyone.
- 1:06:42Speaker 3: I don't trust the people saying the aliens are evil
- 1:06:45Speaker 3: and they want to kill us. I don't trust Stephen Greer, Like.
- 1:06:50Speaker 4: I definitely don't trust Stephen Greer.
- 1:06:52Speaker 3: I have just kind of thrown my hands up when
- 1:06:54Speaker 3: it comes to aliens, and it's like whatever's gonna happen
- 1:06:57Speaker 3: is gonna fucking happen. Like if the government a flagging us,
- 1:07:00Speaker 3: they're going to do it. Like there's not we're not
- 1:07:04Speaker 3: going to stop it by doing podcasts about.
- 1:07:06Speaker 4: It, yeah, the the or writing books about it. Like
- 1:07:09Speaker 4: there's a there's a major industry built up around this stuff,
- 1:07:15Speaker 4: and that makes it difficult to trust any of it
- 1:07:19Speaker 4: because a lot of people have a lot of money
- 1:07:22Speaker 4: on the you know, at stake trying to sell you
- 1:07:24Speaker 4: on their version of the story. Yeah, so I don't know.
- 1:07:29Speaker 4: At least Jim Sparks is not that we can definitively
- 1:07:33Speaker 4: say that. He is not the kind of guy who
- 1:07:36Speaker 4: is out there trying to sell you a million books
- 1:07:39Speaker 4: and DVDs and documentaries and shit. Like he has. He
- 1:07:43Speaker 4: wrote his goddamn book and he put it out there
- 1:07:46Speaker 4: and he fucked off. That is it, And like that
- 1:07:52Speaker 4: is admirable in its own way.
- 1:07:54Speaker 3: Yeah, there's all I can find from him. Like he
- 1:07:57Speaker 3: was in a UFO documentary in two thousand and three thirteen.
- 1:08:01Speaker 3: He was interviewed by Art Bell in like two thousand
- 1:08:05Speaker 3: and seven.
- 1:08:06Speaker 4: Or eight, and he was he was on a coast
- 1:08:08Speaker 4: to coast.
- 1:08:09Speaker 3: Yeah, and he doesn't sound like a crazy person on
- 1:08:12Speaker 3: coast to coast, but a lot of like people usually don't.
- 1:08:15Speaker 4: Like that's the well, it's because that's the coast to
- 1:08:18Speaker 4: coast thing, Like you're already the crazy part is that
- 1:08:21Speaker 4: you're listening to coast to coast, so like, you know,
- 1:08:26Speaker 4: everything kind of sounds, you know, pretty rational when it's happening.
- 1:08:30Speaker 3: So I think that's our episode. Yeah, I I do
- 1:08:34Speaker 3: like how this episode turned out, and I wouldn't mind
- 1:08:37Speaker 3: doing another book Club episode maybe next month.
- 1:08:42Speaker 2: And I know what, I know what book I want
- 1:08:45Speaker 2: to cover. It is a book I have not read,
- 1:08:48Speaker 2: but I have wanted to for a long time.
- 1:08:51Speaker 3: It's called the Elvis Files. Was his faked by jale
- 1:08:57Speaker 3: B Georgio. It's kind of defined, but it's out there.
- 1:09:02Speaker 3: And here's the thing, after looking at the FBI files
- 1:09:06Speaker 3: about Elvis, Like, without even reading this woman's book, I
- 1:09:10Speaker 3: do think he joined witness protection and fucked off to
- 1:09:14Speaker 3: another country. Sure, I don't think he died in nineteen
- 1:09:18Speaker 3: seventy eight. I mean, I'm sure he's dead now. But
- 1:09:22Speaker 3: I'm an Elvis truther.
- 1:09:24Speaker 4: Give sure why I think? Is it hurt? Yeah, that's
- 1:09:27Speaker 4: maybe Elvis.
- 1:09:28Speaker 2: That's at least not a conspiracy theory that when you
- 1:09:32Speaker 2: peel the layers away it ends with the Jews.
- 1:09:35Speaker 4: That's true. That is true for the seamless one. Right. Yeah,
- 1:09:40Speaker 4: I'm a Bubba ho Tip truther. I think actually that
- 1:09:43Speaker 4: was a documentary and that's what Elvis has been up to.
- 1:09:47Speaker 3: Yeah, I never saw it.
- 1:09:48Speaker 4: Oh you would like it. Maybe it's old. It's Elvis
- 1:09:52Speaker 4: in a retirement home, played by Bruce Campbell, and he's
- 1:09:54Speaker 4: and he has to fight at a zombie, a redneck
- 1:09:57Speaker 4: zomb redneck mummy, sorry, zombie, a red nick mummy.
- 1:10:02Speaker 3: So yeah, let's let's cover that next month.
- 1:10:04Speaker 2: Bubba ho Tep No yells fine hotep. I mean we
- 1:10:09Speaker 2: could cover Bubba Ho Tep as a bonus episode after week.
- 1:10:12Speaker 4: Well, that would be fun.
- 1:10:14Speaker 3: Cover the Elvis files. I'm just looking at where it's available.
- 1:10:17Speaker 3: You can get it on Amazon hardcover for nine dollars.
- 1:10:22Speaker 3: There are a bunch of used ones from like three dollars.
- 1:10:26Speaker 3: It's out there, you can find it. Yeah, there's probably
- 1:10:29Speaker 3: a PDF somewhere. I know there's a version on eBay
- 1:10:32Speaker 3: that comes with a cassette.
- 1:10:33Speaker 4: I want that. Well, I wonder, yeah it might be.
- 1:10:37Speaker 3: So that's our episode, Olivia. Thank you so much for
- 1:10:40Speaker 3: reading this crazy ass book.
- 1:10:42Speaker 4: Oh, thank you for having me. This is fun.
- 1:10:45Speaker 3: And uh, people at home, if you read the book,
- 1:10:48Speaker 3: you know, sound off in the comments, tell us what
- 1:10:51Speaker 3: you thought. Well, yeah, well we'll put up a pole
- 1:10:54Speaker 3: or something. I don't know. If you're on Spotify, we
- 1:10:56Speaker 3: can put a pole up, but then what does everyone
- 1:10:58Speaker 3: else do?
- 1:10:59Speaker 4: Who knows? So I think that's it.
- 1:11:02Speaker 3: Do we have anything to plug before we get out
- 1:11:05Speaker 3: of here?
- 1:11:06Speaker 4: I mean, you know, I'm on I'm on x Hi.
- 1:11:12Speaker 4: It's funny. It's not funny, it is funny, Okay, X.
- 1:11:17Speaker 3: Is like truth social at this point, like this, like
- 1:11:21Speaker 3: it's not a.
- 1:11:21Speaker 4: Guy actually in my everyday life refer to this website
- 1:11:25Speaker 4: as X well. Actually I do sometimes it's funny, but
- 1:11:30Speaker 4: obviously it's still Twitter. But you know, I can't funny
- 1:11:34Speaker 4: that he did that. It's so stupid.
- 1:11:37Speaker 3: You can find me on I guess blue Sky from there.
- 1:11:41Speaker 4: I mean, yeah there too, So I am.
- 1:11:45Speaker 3: I mean, I still have a Twitter, but I'm not
- 1:11:47Speaker 3: fucking using it. Uh and follow me on substack Adam
- 1:11:51Speaker 3: Todd Brown dot substack dot com. And I think that's it.
- 1:11:54Speaker 3: Let's get the funk out of here. Olivia say goodbye bye,
- 1:11:57Speaker 3: goodbye everybody. We love you people of Earth.
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: Your planets have to be destroyed.
- 1:12:17Speaker 3: Your planets have to be destroyed.
