- 0:00Speaker 1: You're listening to a lily Pad production.
- 0:04Speaker 2: This is the Team Up Play Show.
- 0:07Speaker 1: Podcast previously in the City of Bones.
- 0:30Speaker 2: Displayed stiffly on a mannequin is a gray suit with
- 0:35Speaker 2: intricate white accent lines. The entire body would be covered
- 0:40Speaker 2: with a gray flexible metal mesh. Two white belts cross
- 0:46Speaker 2: over the chest and connect at the waist and the
- 0:50Speaker 2: two shoulder epaulets. These hold a shimmering white cape. And
- 0:56Speaker 2: then there's the helm. The center dome displays a mighty
- 1:00Speaker 2: white fin that arcs from the forehead to the nape
- 1:03Speaker 2: of the neck. It is sharp and dangerous. Standing before
- 1:07Speaker 2: you is bright blade. There's two things you find the
- 1:11Speaker 2: drawn schematics to the everheart, and what you note in
- 1:16Speaker 2: the bottom right hand corner of these drawn schematics is
- 1:20Speaker 2: E E.
- 1:21Speaker 1: There are two e's Ellington.
- 1:24Speaker 3: That's my thought. I know ann Ellington, but I think
- 1:26Speaker 3: his first name is Manny.
- 1:27Speaker 1: Could be Ellington, I see him.
- 1:30Speaker 3: He likes to read.
- 1:31Speaker 4: EE.
- 1:31Speaker 2: Could also just be for Ellington Electric. You also touch
- 1:35Speaker 2: base with Jackie sometime in this week at one of
- 1:37Speaker 2: your normal spots.
- 1:39Speaker 3: I'm sure she's rocked.
- 1:42Speaker 2: So he just got shot in Koso.
- 1:46Speaker 3: That's what they said, did you did.
- 1:49Speaker 2: You tell him about that thing?
- 1:51Speaker 5: I nod ever so slightly, And is that why they
- 1:54Speaker 5: took him from us?
- 1:56Speaker 2: Oh?
- 1:56Speaker 5: My god, and it's not fair.
- 1:59Speaker 2: Busting out of the door, there's a man. This man
- 2:03Speaker 2: is shirtless and his body is encompassed with a beautiful
- 2:08Speaker 2: red dragon tattoo. But the dragon tattoo is interrupted by
- 2:13Speaker 2: a surgically implanted shoulder device that connects to his spine.
- 2:19Speaker 2: Coming out of their invisible status is a large day woman.
- 2:25Speaker 2: She draws back her fingers to her cheek. Materializing in
- 2:32Speaker 2: the space in between her two arms is an arrow
- 2:36Speaker 2: made of pure white energy. She looses it and it
- 2:40Speaker 2: streaks through the hallway right towards you west shoot safe
- 2:46Speaker 2: going back to base.
- 2:48Speaker 6: And Jamir, very very hurt, will limp into the nearest
- 2:53Speaker 6: tunnel access and slowly fly my way back to the
- 2:59Speaker 6: manner because I am very.
- 3:01Speaker 2: Hurt, Jamir. As you come off the street and find
- 3:15Speaker 2: an entry way to the sewers, the adrenaline begins to
- 3:21Speaker 2: wear off and the pain begins to set in.
- 3:26Speaker 1: Oh shit, you're hurt, hurt bad.
- 3:32Speaker 2: Your enhanced connection with your body feels the blood pooling
- 3:37Speaker 2: under your skin. As you cruise you feel the tears
- 3:42Speaker 2: where your skin was hit too many times in the
- 3:45Speaker 2: same place, you feel the blood leaking out of you
- 3:49Speaker 2: and mixing with the piss and shit that you walk in.
- 3:53Speaker 2: That's right now, you're feeling like you can't make it home.
- 4:00Speaker 3: Am I under the shoot?
- 4:03Speaker 2: Yeah? You're around in that area for sure?
- 4:05Speaker 3: In that area. Okay.
- 4:09Speaker 5: If I'm under the shoot, I'm gonna take off my costume,
- 4:21Speaker 5: leave it in the sewers and try to sneak up
- 4:27Speaker 5: into the shoot.
- 4:29Speaker 3: Do you have clothes on underneath? Yeah?
- 4:31Speaker 5: I always keep on some not nothing substantial, but I
- 4:36Speaker 5: mean it's mostly.
- 4:37Speaker 3: I mean yeah, just really yeah, tell us what you're wearing.
- 4:40Speaker 1: And what would it feel like if we touched touch the.
- 4:43Speaker 5: Bloody but if it would be pretty pretty wet, pretty sweat. Wow,
- 4:51Speaker 5: my costume is still mostly just dry fit. So I
- 4:56Speaker 5: if I lose the ban data, oh, I'm with moist quick.
- 5:02Speaker 5: If I'm losing the bandana, I'm losing the do rag,
- 5:06Speaker 5: I will like take off. I guess I would have
- 5:09Speaker 5: to take off the shirt that has my little insignia
- 5:12Speaker 5: painted on it. Definitely lose the three quarter cape, and
- 5:17Speaker 5: I want to try as much as I can to
- 5:21Speaker 5: slink through the shadows to my community living pod.
- 5:26Speaker 3: Damn, guys, should this podcast just be an audio description
- 5:29Speaker 3: of stripping. Let's pivot. Let's pivot hard. I slink through
- 5:35Speaker 3: the shadows. Take my shirt.
- 5:37Speaker 2: Off, I shirtlessly slink, shirtless, slink, Jamira. As you get
- 5:44Speaker 2: to the living pod, you try your key and fuck
- 5:51Speaker 2: you haven't been here enough. Come on for them to
- 5:56Speaker 2: keep your spot.
- 5:59Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:59Speaker 5: Do I see like a box of my effects anywhere
- 6:02Speaker 5: in the Yes.
- 6:02Speaker 2: Just like sitting by your by your door, waiting for you.
- 6:08Speaker 5: Okay, okay, I will pick up that box, throw my
- 6:18Speaker 5: key by the doormat in frustration, leaving it there.
- 6:23Speaker 2: Man, how far am I? How far am I from.
- 6:28Speaker 3: The station and Jackie?
- 6:32Speaker 2: Right now, You're pretty far, but it's much much closer
- 6:38Speaker 2: than your house in Sass.
- 6:43Speaker 5: I will open up my box just there in the
- 6:47Speaker 5: like open communal hallway ish space. I will throw on
- 6:52Speaker 5: a clean shirt, throw on a clean pair of pants,
- 6:57Speaker 5: some flip flops that I kept for shower visits, and
- 7:04Speaker 5: try to look as calm as I can painfully limb
- 7:09Speaker 5: walking holding my box to Jackies.
- 7:14Speaker 2: Another thing you could do is that there are I
- 7:16Speaker 2: don't think I've ever said this, but I've always imagined it,
- 7:21Speaker 2: so my bad. But there are like small railway like
- 7:27Speaker 2: standing platform rails that were installed by Ellington Electric for
- 7:32Speaker 2: free for the people of the Shoote that run east
- 7:34Speaker 2: and west across the shoe down the chute.
- 7:38Speaker 3: Yep.
- 7:38Speaker 2: So that's the way that Jackies.
- 7:40Speaker 5: Definitely head on, hop on that can serve some energy
- 7:46Speaker 5: and just try not to look too pained as I do.
- 7:49Speaker 3: So does the sound of the train go shoot even
- 7:55Speaker 3: though it's.
- 7:55Speaker 1: An electric train, that's cute.
- 7:59Speaker 2: It's yeah, it goes cute, cute, cute, cute. Jamr heads
- 8:06Speaker 2: towards Jackie's house. Jason, I'm a paper bidy. You've become
- 8:13Speaker 2: a piece of paper, turned yourself into an airplane, and
- 8:16Speaker 2: you are floating down to the rooftop where Dirk has
- 8:19Speaker 2: dispatched the Flog. The Yakuza and the Flog now fire
- 8:24Speaker 2: openly at each other, and the police are beginning to
- 8:27Speaker 2: repel from their zeppelins. Above the rooftops. They've uncovered their spotlights,
- 8:32Speaker 2: and the light shines on Dirk. Before you come out
- 8:37Speaker 2: of paper. You see he wears the bright Blade suit.
- 8:43Speaker 2: But in the short time he's had away from you,
- 8:45Speaker 2: all he's changed it. The change is simple but striking.
- 8:52Speaker 2: All of the brilliant white accents of the suit have
- 8:56Speaker 2: been crudely painted black. Long cloak flaps black, the once
- 9:03Speaker 2: white X that was formed by the belts that cross
- 9:07Speaker 2: his chest are now black, and the mighty white fin
- 9:10Speaker 2: running lengthwise on his helm has been shorn down and
- 9:15Speaker 2: painted black as well. It makes for a more somber appearance,
- 9:21Speaker 2: makes the bright Blade a darker night. But as one
- 9:26Speaker 2: of the spotlight's trains on him, you finally understand the
- 9:30Speaker 2: name bright Blade. The veneum sword glints fiercely against the night,
- 9:38Speaker 2: and that spike of silver cannot be marred with paint
- 9:41Speaker 2: if he were to try.
- 9:45Speaker 3: The paper airplane like the crease in the middle flaps
- 9:48Speaker 3: as Jason talks, Oh, Dirk, you're golf now? Are you good?
- 9:54Speaker 3: You got shot?
- 9:55Speaker 2: He is in a kind of a crouched position right now.
- 9:59Speaker 2: After taking the impact of the arrow. He looks over
- 10:03Speaker 2: at the paper airplane. Phantom is that you?
- 10:07Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 10:07Speaker 2: Huh ah hah, He smiles as he looks up at
- 10:12Speaker 2: his sister, who is popping her head out of the
- 10:15Speaker 2: trapdoor in this rooftop, The Phantom of the Night and
- 10:20Speaker 2: the Blade of the day. Oh yeah, we're so God,
- 10:23Speaker 2: they are fools to test us.
- 10:26Speaker 3: Sure, sure, so we're gonna You wanna stay and you
- 10:28Speaker 3: wanna fuck this shit up.
- 10:30Speaker 2: This is what they've done to my sister, and this
- 10:33Speaker 2: will be her dusk of.
- 10:34Speaker 3: Freedom, Oh dusk of freedom? Like like, you want to alright,
- 10:42Speaker 3: kill her?
- 10:43Speaker 2: What?
- 10:43Speaker 3: No?
- 10:44Speaker 5: What?
- 10:45Speaker 4: No?
- 10:45Speaker 2: I don't want to kill her. We're gonna free her.
- 10:47Speaker 2: Oh okay, okay, but to do that we might need
- 10:49Speaker 2: to fight her. Oh okay, tight, Come Phantom, and he
- 10:53Speaker 2: starts getting ready to fight Quanta. Here's what's going on
- 10:58Speaker 2: with you. You've lit up the whole large space in this
- 11:01Speaker 2: building with dancing blue light. It jumps from falling water
- 11:06Speaker 2: droplet to falling water droplet. You've stepped out of the
- 11:11Speaker 2: dark as a spear of lightning streaks out of a
- 11:14Speaker 2: dark cloud. One of these guys you've taken down, There
- 11:18Speaker 2: are three left. They've all taken a single damage. Shay
- 11:22Speaker 2: has run out and has headed down, and you start
- 11:26Speaker 2: to hear yelling screaming from downstairs. Help, Help, Help, and
- 11:34Speaker 2: then voice you recognize hoop hoopos. Arthur and someone else
- 11:40Speaker 2: are in trouble downstairs. He is here, I moved. All right,
- 11:45Speaker 2: let's do this. So we're back in combat order here,
- 11:49Speaker 2: the same combat we were in last episode. And Jason,
- 11:52Speaker 2: you are up first. You are in a new round.
- 11:56Speaker 3: All right? I am I hidden right now? Lia's paper?
- 12:00Speaker 3: Do they know that I'm I'm a I'm a man
- 12:03Speaker 3: or they just think that there's there's a lot of
- 12:05Speaker 3: other stuff going on.
- 12:06Speaker 2: You have to take an action to hide, which you
- 12:10Speaker 2: took your last action to move. I believe so you
- 12:13Speaker 2: are not hidden, even though it's hard to want to
- 12:16Speaker 2: shoot it a piece of paper.
- 12:18Speaker 3: Sure, all right, then I'll hide. Great?
- 12:19Speaker 2: How are you hiding?
- 12:20Speaker 3: Where you are? I'm the paper airplane's gonna fold, lattice book,
- 12:25Speaker 3: just a piece of paper, one with the roof.
- 12:28Speaker 2: Frick Dirk sees you going into hiding and just says,
- 12:33Speaker 2: are you with me?
- 12:34Speaker 3: Then?
- 12:34Speaker 2: Phantom?
- 12:35Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah, but don't don't look at me though
- 12:39Speaker 3: I don't like it when you look at me.
- 12:40Speaker 2: Don't look at me? Do very well?
- 12:43Speaker 4: Uh?
- 12:44Speaker 2: At this? The police are, like I said, repelling off
- 12:48Speaker 2: these zeppelins. They're repelling on all of the rooftops around you.
- 12:52Speaker 3: Guys.
- 12:52Speaker 2: So awesome because the Yukuza and the flog are just
- 12:55Speaker 2: shooting at each other now, so they're trying to calm
- 12:57Speaker 2: that down. That's gonna be their main goal. But they
- 13:01Speaker 2: also are eyeing you guys and don't like what they're seeing.
- 13:06Speaker 3: Sure, do you need me to make a stealth check
- 13:08Speaker 3: here to hud, Yes, sneak check, sneak check. I'm sorry oof,
- 13:12Speaker 3: all right?
- 13:14Speaker 2: Eight eight, Okay, you believe that you remain hidden tit,
- 13:19Speaker 2: but you're not.
- 13:20Speaker 3: Certain less tight, somewhat tight, medium, loose. You hide.
- 13:27Speaker 2: The police are repelling down, mostly looking at Dirk because
- 13:31Speaker 2: you're very small, very hidden, and they're just saying, stand down,
- 13:37Speaker 2: stand down, put that sword down. You're under arrest. It's
- 13:40Speaker 2: Dirk's turn. He rushes forward a movement to get in
- 13:45Speaker 2: the same mail as his sister. His sister pops out
- 13:49Speaker 2: of the trap door, the hatch door, the hatch door,
- 13:54Speaker 2: along with following her Hikaru, the guy with the dragon
- 13:59Speaker 2: tattos and the device on his shoulders, no shirt, The
- 14:05Speaker 2: dragon tattoo ripples across his muscles and.
- 14:09Speaker 3: He yeah, all of it all tilts last.
- 14:17Speaker 2: And he squares up. They both are moving. Quanta, your turn.
- 14:23Speaker 4: I'm going to hearing Arthur's voice become lightning and move downstairs.
- 14:32Speaker 4: I have five l's just leaving these guys behind.
- 14:35Speaker 2: Got it? They are all gonna take pursuit attacks on you.
- 14:41Speaker 2: So three pursuit attacks coming at you? Do they say
- 14:44Speaker 2: pursuit suit?
- 14:46Speaker 4: Uh?
- 14:47Speaker 1: Why would they say that?
- 14:48Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 14:48Speaker 3: I'm just thinking about the train.
- 14:52Speaker 2: One damage right first?
- 14:55Speaker 1: Is it's a D six for me?
- 14:58Speaker 4: Now right? No?
- 15:00Speaker 2: Two damage? You take one and four damage.
- 15:02Speaker 1: I take all of that, so five total?
- 15:05Speaker 3: Got it?
- 15:05Speaker 2: You turn into lightning and start hopping around in here,
- 15:09Speaker 2: zipping off the water and smash out of a window.
- 15:13Speaker 2: Are you going down the stairwell, down the stairwell.
- 15:16Speaker 1: I want to follow she following, Shay, Yeah, towards the voices.
- 15:20Speaker 2: Towards the voices. You zip down, get on this bottom level.
- 15:23Speaker 2: See that it is a garage and they are loading
- 15:26Speaker 2: up Arthur and Page into a black van, a hover van.
- 15:33Speaker 2: Stop right there, that's your turn, Jason, back up to you.
- 15:37Speaker 3: How far away am I from swift shot two l's
- 15:41Speaker 3: two l's small rooftop up here? Yeah?
- 15:44Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 15:44Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 15:45Speaker 3: If I get up on a zeppelin, can I be
- 15:48Speaker 3: three l's away from her? Yeah? Of course, sick. I'm
- 15:51Speaker 3: just gonna move then I'm gonna flap my way up
- 15:54Speaker 3: to the top of a zeppelin.
- 15:55Speaker 2: How do you stay hidden and flap to a zeppelin?
- 15:59Speaker 2: I'm the guy his paper.
- 16:00Speaker 3: Imagine I can just kind of like act like paper,
- 16:05Speaker 3: like try, yeah, leaf leaf my way up, try and ride,
- 16:10Speaker 3: ride wind and currents and just no one would think
- 16:14Speaker 3: just a piece of paper floating around up here on
- 16:17Speaker 3: the roof.
- 16:18Speaker 2: All right, it is Dirk's turn. Dirk's blade is loose
- 16:23Speaker 2: and free, his cloak billowing. He takes a slash down
- 16:29Speaker 2: at the man who has.
- 16:31Speaker 3: The controlling deface has the control and the rippling muscles.
- 16:38Speaker 2: Oh, Dirk does six damage. This guy's gonna try to
- 16:41Speaker 2: defend rolls a five. That's good, and then rolls a
- 16:46Speaker 2: six on his resilience so fully blocks all this. The
- 16:49Speaker 2: man leans Dodges, doesn't have a weapon, but is rolling
- 16:53Speaker 2: out of the way of Dirk's attacks. Swift shots. Turn
- 16:57Speaker 2: she point blank here is just fire ring another bolt
- 17:01Speaker 2: at Dirk with her venimbo. Okay, she rolled poorly, so
- 17:08Speaker 2: only three damage coming to Dirk.
- 17:09Speaker 3: Hang in there, big, do it, uncle Dirk.
- 17:13Speaker 2: Dirk reveals for three, So he reveals all that. Another
- 17:18Speaker 2: blast hits him and he sluughs it off, smiling. It
- 17:23Speaker 2: is the handler's turn. Swift shots handler. He just starts
- 17:28Speaker 2: putting out like a classic martial arts combo at Dirk's
- 17:33Speaker 2: abs and his face.
- 17:36Speaker 1: Five classic martial arts combos.
- 17:39Speaker 2: Five damage to Dirk. He is just going to reseal.
- 17:45Speaker 2: He reveals four to two, so Dirk takes three. All right, Quanta,
- 17:50Speaker 2: your turn. Arthur and Page are in the car. The
- 17:53Speaker 2: doors are shut, and Shay is running towards the driver's
- 17:57Speaker 2: seat or the passenger seat.
- 17:59Speaker 4: Yes, utility, I yelled stop it, stop it right there
- 18:04Speaker 4: and hold out my hands and turn off the car
- 18:07Speaker 4: so it cannot go.
- 18:09Speaker 2: Oh fun, All right. This is a knowledge check. What
- 18:16Speaker 2: no coax the car? Off the car? No, it's a
- 18:21Speaker 2: knowledge check to know where to turn off the right
- 18:23Speaker 2: electrical things to turn off the car.
- 18:26Speaker 3: I think like trying to start a car and it's
- 18:29Speaker 3: like not turning over. That's maybe a coat. When you're
- 18:31Speaker 3: just yeah, yeah, that's good.
- 18:34Speaker 1: When are you trying to open the throttle.
- 18:36Speaker 3: But turning it off? That's right? It feels very Jenny.
- 18:39Speaker 2: This is an average.
- 18:41Speaker 1: Nobody's going to comment on my check cave reference. What
- 18:45Speaker 1: are you trying to open the throttle.
- 18:47Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I remember that.
- 18:53Speaker 1: I'm stalling because I'm nervous. I really want to make
- 18:54Speaker 1: this check.
- 18:55Speaker 2: This is an average check.
- 18:59Speaker 1: Drop the D four.
- 19:01Speaker 2: I rolled an eight. I'll tell you now, shit.
- 19:04Speaker 1: I rolled a four on the D four.
- 19:07Speaker 3: That's good. Part of the days we need.
- 19:15Speaker 1: I can't reach the buttons anymore, but if.
- 19:18Speaker 2: You could, Uh, listeners in the chat gave Steph has
- 19:24Speaker 2: been pushing the buttons on our recording device and making
- 19:27Speaker 2: a lot of noise. Sure, so just say you know
- 19:30Speaker 2: that's what she's referencing. You start to feel the electrical
- 19:35Speaker 2: movings of this car as the key enters in the
- 19:38Speaker 2: ignition and they start to turn it over. You follow
- 19:41Speaker 2: the line of electricity and turn it off. Cut it
- 19:44Speaker 2: off at the right point so that the engine cannot
- 19:46Speaker 2: turn over.
- 19:47Speaker 3: You hear, just though, Jack, Jack, he's trying to coax
- 19:51Speaker 3: it back.
- 19:53Speaker 2: He's rolling a cox check and failing. He's rolling a
- 19:56Speaker 2: titanic coax check to try to get it back on
- 19:58Speaker 2: and failing. What the fuck? He starts beating the wheel.
- 20:04Speaker 2: You hear Seamus starts screaming at him, a fact, get
- 20:08Speaker 2: it going, let's go. As the car won't start. That's
- 20:12Speaker 2: your utility.
- 20:13Speaker 1: Yes, and.
- 20:15Speaker 4: As I, you know, get there, yell, hold out my hands.
- 20:19Speaker 4: Stop this, I say into my earpiece. They have they
- 20:22Speaker 4: have Arthur and Page. I think I can save them,
- 20:24Speaker 4: But they have Arthur and Page is there?
- 20:26Speaker 3: They have Arthur and Page over.
- 20:28Speaker 1: They have Arthur and Page over.
- 20:30Speaker 3: Oh my god, I just needed to know if that's
- 20:32Speaker 3: the end of the message.
- 20:34Speaker 2: Oh fuck, it's their turn. Shay gets out of the
- 20:37Speaker 2: passenger side and just says to any of the other
- 20:43Speaker 2: FLOG members that are around, fuck it, We'll do it
- 20:45Speaker 2: another day. And they just start running out into the night, getting.
- 20:50Speaker 3: Out of here.
- 20:51Speaker 1: They no longer have Arthur and Page over. It's over over.
- 20:53Speaker 3: Oh god, what a roller goes to This has been
- 20:56Speaker 3: over Jamir? Yeah, Jamir has his communicator. It is box.
- 21:00Speaker 5: He's not going to have like an earpiece in in public.
- 21:04Speaker 5: So yeah, I've been missing out on some of this.
- 21:06Speaker 2: I imagine you get off of the platform rail with
- 21:13Speaker 2: some other shooters that were headed home to the station
- 21:17Speaker 2: on this late evening, and you walk through the station.
- 21:34Speaker 2: The station surrounds the singular launch pad of the Great
- 21:39Speaker 2: Space Barges. The amount of support and ingenuity needed to
- 21:44Speaker 2: thrust the monster spacecraft out of the atmosphere is incalculable factories, laboratories,
- 21:52Speaker 2: a university, thousands of ergonomic living quarters, restaurants, bars, and parks,
- 21:59Speaker 2: all now abandoned but then refilled by the Core Gang.
- 22:06Speaker 2: The core Gang because they live here in the heart
- 22:09Speaker 2: of the city. The last space barge is their headquarters,
- 22:14Speaker 2: and the station walls are their fortress. Jackie lives with
- 22:18Speaker 2: her family in one of the high rise one of
- 22:21Speaker 2: the high rise living quarters. The living quarter pod walls
- 22:25Speaker 2: of many units were kind of like broken down to
- 22:28Speaker 2: create a more homelike space, so they would get kind
- 22:31Speaker 2: of a quarter of a floor, if that makes sense,
- 22:34Speaker 2: and bust out a bunch of the smaller It was
- 22:37Speaker 2: just kind of like a bathroom bed situation in the
- 22:39Speaker 2: days of the space exploration. You know which building Jackie
- 22:45Speaker 2: lives in, and you know which floor she's on. She's
- 22:48Speaker 2: pretty high up on the eighteenth floor of one of
- 22:50Speaker 2: these high rises. What is going through Jamir's head as
- 22:53Speaker 2: you head towards Jackie's.
- 22:56Speaker 5: Jamiir is just trying to focus on the next step
- 23:01Speaker 5: in front of him, and just thinking about that couch
- 23:05Speaker 5: in Jackie's apartment where I can lie down and stop
- 23:11Speaker 5: pretending that my body is not screaming for respite.
- 23:17Speaker 2: These thoughts run through your head. How is Jamir feeling
- 23:21Speaker 2: about the reaction that Jackie might have when she sees
- 23:26Speaker 2: you so beat up? Jamir is a little nervous, but
- 23:30Speaker 2: I'm trying not to overthink you right now. I know,
- 23:33Speaker 2: I know she'll help, and that's what matters. You knock
- 23:37Speaker 2: on Jackie's door. Hey, Jackie, it's it's Jamir. Jackie. You there,
- 23:44Speaker 2: Jason back to you. You are hidden. You are on
- 23:47Speaker 2: top of a zeppelin. Dirk has engaged both swift Shot
- 23:51Speaker 2: and Hikaru down on the on the roof. What are
- 23:54Speaker 2: you doing?
- 23:55Speaker 3: All right? I'm gonna I'm gonna start spinning. I'm a
- 24:00Speaker 3: piece of paper. I'm spinning the piece of paper as
- 24:01Speaker 3: fast as I can. And then I want to I mean,
- 24:04Speaker 3: I get out of my paper. I want to kick
- 24:06Speaker 3: off of it and just send a piece of paper
- 24:09Speaker 3: spinning and flying at at the the controller at Hickorw's shoulder. Awesome.
- 24:16Speaker 2: So you're trying to bust the controller, yes, or you're
- 24:20Speaker 2: trying to do damage to him or the controller the controller, Okay,
- 24:23Speaker 2: if there's a difference, Yeah, I think that will matter.
- 24:26Speaker 2: It only has a resilience dive of six. Okay, so
- 24:30Speaker 2: to break an object you have to beat the resilience.
- 24:33Speaker 2: I just made this rule up and I really like it.
- 24:35Speaker 2: You have to beat the resilience of the object a
- 24:37Speaker 2: number of times based on how tough the object is.
- 24:40Speaker 3: Cool.
- 24:41Speaker 2: This object only has a toughness of two, so you
- 24:43Speaker 2: need to beat its resilience twice for it to not
- 24:45Speaker 2: function anymore. Heard, I rolled two? Oh, I wrote a
- 24:50Speaker 2: four that turns it into two.
- 24:52Speaker 3: I got eight eight.
- 24:54Speaker 2: Nice Derek fighting with these to a piece of pap
- 25:00Speaker 2: like a ninja star streaks out of the night and
- 25:03Speaker 2: sticks in firmly into this shoulder device he got. Who
- 25:08Speaker 2: looks over at it? Confused? Everybody looks up and sees
- 25:13Speaker 2: you having just jumped off of this piece of paper
- 25:17Speaker 2: cloak filling their vision. It's Dirk's turn. Let's go, Dirk, says,
- 25:24Speaker 2: smart phantom, and he brings down his sword on the
- 25:27Speaker 2: other side of he got his shoulder where the device is.
- 25:32Speaker 2: He's gonna try to get the second destroy in. Somebody
- 25:37Speaker 2: want to roll a d six resiliencety for me? I
- 25:40Speaker 2: got do it three, so that turns into two. I
- 25:47Speaker 2: rolled four. So Dirk's blade comes down and cracks into
- 25:52Speaker 2: the controlling device and then goes a little bit down
- 25:55Speaker 2: into he Gotta's shoulder. Ooh, you see immediately the eyes
- 26:10Speaker 2: of swift Shot start darting, start gaining presence. Huh. She
- 26:22Speaker 2: starts freaking out. Wow, it's her turn. She is wigging out, panicking,
- 26:31Speaker 2: where where? Who? And she turns invisible. You hear Dirk
- 26:41Speaker 2: say no, sister, as she disappears.
- 26:44Speaker 3: Let her go.
- 26:46Speaker 2: It is Hikaru's turn. He looks panicked. He's hurting. He
- 26:52Speaker 2: has a paper in one shoulder, a sword in the other,
- 26:55Speaker 2: starting to bleed. He puts his hands up. Niels, I
- 27:01Speaker 2: have clearly lost this fight. I'll drop down from the zeppelin.
- 27:06Speaker 3: Are the I guess it's the The flog is still
- 27:08Speaker 3: fighting other yakuza.
- 27:10Speaker 2: It's just him that's given up. Yes, and the police
- 27:13Speaker 2: are starting to descend. Here on your rooftop, okay, hands
- 27:17Speaker 2: in the air, hands in the air.
- 27:19Speaker 3: I look at Dirk. We should get out of here.
- 27:22Speaker 2: I believe it is time have fun with the cups.
- 27:25Speaker 8: And then like a big, big cloud of confetti, big
- 27:33Speaker 8: cloud of confetti, you and Dirk both start tearing down.
- 27:38Speaker 2: Well, how do you get off the where we could
- 27:40Speaker 2: be like out of combat here?
- 27:41Speaker 3: Sure?
- 27:42Speaker 2: So how do you get off the roof?
- 27:45Speaker 3: Yeah? I mean I would just like glide down, but
- 27:47Speaker 3: if Dirk needs a hand, I can kind of grab
- 27:50Speaker 3: Dirk and just you know, turn into a paraglider with
- 27:55Speaker 3: my cape and just kind of.
- 27:57Speaker 2: Yeah, what's your what's your strength?
- 28:01Speaker 3: Bad? It's a D four am my strength? Yeah?
- 28:05Speaker 2: How many EPs?
- 28:06Speaker 3: Oh? Just one? Yeah?
- 28:07Speaker 2: So you uh, you jump off? He runs, jumps, grabs
- 28:11Speaker 2: onto your hand as the two of you slowly just
- 28:14Speaker 2: glide down. You can't go up with him and you
- 28:17Speaker 2: can't carry him really, but the two of you just
- 28:19Speaker 2: slowly head towards the city floor. Quanta. The flog is run. Yes,
- 28:27Speaker 2: there is a hover van here in front of you.
- 28:30Speaker 2: What are you doing?
- 28:31Speaker 4: They're in the in the back yeah, still crackling with
- 28:36Speaker 4: electricity from my travel and then stopping the van. I
- 28:42Speaker 4: slow motion approached the back of the van and reach
- 28:45Speaker 4: my hands in too, Arthur and make eye contact with Paige.
- 28:49Speaker 1: Are you okay?
- 28:50Speaker 2: Arthur looks over Page. I think I'm okay. I think
- 28:55Speaker 2: we're okay. They came in and grabbed us. Page looks
- 29:00Speaker 2: to you, who are you what are you?
- 29:04Speaker 1: I'm Quanta?
- 29:06Speaker 2: Why do you wear a mask?
- 29:08Speaker 1: It's complicated? A wink?
- 29:11Speaker 3: Did I hear you guys winking?
- 29:12Speaker 2: What's going on? Arthur's like, okay, yeah, thank you very much.
- 29:19Speaker 4: Page.
- 29:19Speaker 3: We should get out of here. Go talk to the police.
- 29:22Speaker 2: He's trying to get out of this situation.
- 29:25Speaker 1: Let me let me, let me escort you, just in
- 29:27Speaker 1: case there were still three upstairs.
- 29:29Speaker 2: Okay.
- 29:30Speaker 4: Takes them back up front, sensing all the while because
- 29:34Speaker 4: there were still those flamethrowers up there.
- 29:36Speaker 2: Yeah, you do feel the three guys come down and
- 29:39Speaker 2: just start to run off, getting the word that they're
- 29:42Speaker 2: they're out of dodge right now. You walk over to
- 29:45Speaker 2: the policeman and the fireman with the page. You see
- 29:49Speaker 2: Elaine run.
- 29:50Speaker 1: Up, and Joe might have not seen her, man if
- 29:52Speaker 1: you've not.
- 29:53Speaker 2: Seen her mat but she runs up a slick leather jacket,
- 29:59Speaker 2: goes to hug Page. Oh my god, this is crazy.
- 30:02Speaker 2: Are you okay, Paige? Yeah, we're okay. Quanta, Quanta, Quanta,
- 30:10Speaker 2: here's saved us. Hello, it's just very nice. All right,
- 30:15Speaker 2: let's uh, let's get inside. I don't want to be
- 30:18Speaker 2: out here anymore.
- 30:19Speaker 1: Yeah, where were you?
- 30:21Speaker 2: Both?
- 30:22Speaker 1: Taken from Oh the library. This seems to happen a
- 30:25Speaker 1: lot to you too.
- 30:28Speaker 2: Paige just says, how do you How do you know
- 30:30Speaker 2: that I've.
- 30:31Speaker 1: Got We've got some other friends who like to help.
- 30:35Speaker 2: Oh, she looks puzzled. Okay, anything else you're doing here
- 30:40Speaker 2: with page and aren't there?
- 30:41Speaker 1: I think I'll leave them in the hands of the authorities.
- 30:45Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 30:45Speaker 1: Once there seemed to be helped and escorted.
- 30:49Speaker 3: And Elaine Elaine's hands. Yeah, and Elaine's hands slick leather
- 30:54Speaker 3: jacket happened? Those slick hands, anti corruption.
- 30:58Speaker 2: Hands, pretty good hands did.
- 31:02Speaker 4: I'll strike away, head back towards the nest. Once I'm
- 31:17Speaker 4: back in the pneumatic tunnels. Put my earpiece back in.
- 31:21Speaker 4: Rachel Phantom, sorry, is over over?
- 31:25Speaker 3: I'm here.
- 31:26Speaker 1: Rachel's not over.
- 31:30Speaker 3: Let's go rifle through his grandma stuff.
- 31:33Speaker 1: I hope he's okay, right, I'm sure. How did everything
- 31:36Speaker 1: go with you?
- 31:38Speaker 3: I got Dirk? Oh, oh, yep, he's here. Dirk SAYI hello,
- 31:45Speaker 3: he's Goth. Now we're both goth.
- 31:49Speaker 2: I'm not sure what he means by this, but where.
- 31:52Speaker 4: The night we can we can let you know what
- 31:54Speaker 4: that means. We can show you some slides.
- 31:57Speaker 3: I was gonna drop Dirk back off at the Manor.
- 32:01Speaker 1: That's where I'm heading.
- 32:04Speaker 3: Hopefully Jamiir is there too.
- 32:06Speaker 1: Yeah, hey, your friends need to stay somewhere else.
- 32:09Speaker 3: Are they okay?
- 32:11Speaker 4: Yeah, they're okay. But as that guy ran away, he said,
- 32:15Speaker 4: we'll do this another time, thank you. Yeah, this is
- 32:20Speaker 4: this is what we do now right.
- 32:22Speaker 3: I also have a job too, don't.
- 32:24Speaker 1: Need to rub it in.
- 32:26Speaker 3: He doesn't pay a lot.
- 32:28Speaker 1: Mine paid really good.
- 32:30Speaker 3: Oh yeah, you really like the rebo pope.
- 32:32Speaker 1: Yeah, even before then I was making some good money.
- 32:35Speaker 3: I rubbed a bank. Anyway, I'll see you back over
- 32:37Speaker 3: at Jamir's.
- 32:38Speaker 1: Okay, tub time, Jamiir.
- 32:41Speaker 3: Yes.
- 32:41Speaker 2: Missus Garcia answers the door. Oh Jamir, sweetheart, how are you.
- 32:49Speaker 2: I'm good, I'm good, so good. It's been too long.
- 32:52Speaker 3: I know.
- 32:53Speaker 2: It's so good to see you. She gives you a
- 32:55Speaker 2: big old hug, just a Missus Garcia hug.
- 32:59Speaker 3: I tried to out wins and pain.
- 33:03Speaker 2: She is a plump Hispanic woman who just makes you
- 33:07Speaker 2: the best food whenever you come over.
- 33:10Speaker 4: Are you?
- 33:10Speaker 3: It's so great? Toe you?
- 33:12Speaker 2: It's late?
- 33:13Speaker 3: Why are you here?
- 33:15Speaker 5: I got I got kicked out of my cop and
- 33:19Speaker 5: I was trying to give Jackie some stuff anyway, So
- 33:23Speaker 5: I just brought some stuff.
- 33:25Speaker 3: Is she here by chance?
- 33:26Speaker 5: Yes?
- 33:27Speaker 2: Yes, come on in, Come on in, you enter in,
- 33:29Speaker 2: sit here?
- 33:31Speaker 3: How much? Oh, thank you.
- 33:32Speaker 2: I'll go. I'll go bring you. I'll bring you some juice.
- 33:36Speaker 2: That would be fantastic. She heads off into the kitchen.
- 33:40Speaker 2: Jackie calls for Jackie to come out of one of
- 33:43Speaker 2: the other living pods here that has become her room.
- 33:49Speaker 2: And Jackie comes out and leans on the doorway and
- 33:55Speaker 2: just looks at you for a second. Yo, yo, Jackie,
- 33:58Speaker 2: I brought the I brought over that stuff I mentioned too.
- 34:04Speaker 2: Do you have time right now? This is how you
- 34:06Speaker 2: show up. I've been Jamiir. I've been meeting in our places.
- 34:13Speaker 2: I've been going to your house with your family. I
- 34:18Speaker 2: haven't seen you, I know, yep, in private.
- 34:24Speaker 3: Okay.
- 34:25Speaker 2: She looks like she just wants to blow up, but
- 34:30Speaker 2: she quiets herself for a moment. Fine, thank you. Her
- 34:35Speaker 2: mom comes back out with some snacks and some juice
- 34:41Speaker 2: for you. Thank you, Thank you so much, of course.

- 34:51Speaker 2: I'm sorry.
- 34:52Speaker 5: I worked late today, so I'll buy schedules all out
- 34:55Speaker 5: of whack.
- 34:56Speaker 2: Okay, you too, well, I'm going to turn in, and
- 34:59Speaker 2: she heads towards her room.
- 35:00Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 35:01Speaker 5: I crack open the can of peach nectar and I
- 35:06Speaker 5: slug it down in one long gulp. Pope or no, pope,
- 35:12Speaker 5: oh pulpy.
- 35:16Speaker 1: Still wearing a shirt.
- 35:19Speaker 5: I'm still wearing my still wearing my shirt. It's probably
- 35:22Speaker 5: getting blood spots on it. And I once I see
- 35:28Speaker 5: that Jackie's mom is not watching, I allow myself to
- 35:32Speaker 5: kind of limp into Jackie's room, still carrying my stuff,
- 35:39Speaker 5: and wait for her to close the door behind us.
- 35:42Speaker 2: She does so, and as the door shut, she turns
- 35:45Speaker 2: on you. Are you running? Are you running from me?
- 35:48Speaker 1: No?
- 35:48Speaker 2: No, no, no, I know. We let ourselves get close
- 35:52Speaker 2: to Taylor, and that's not our fault. He was our friend.
- 35:55Speaker 2: Just because he's gone and we got burned doesn't mean
- 35:58Speaker 2: we can't be close.
- 36:00Speaker 3: It does.
- 36:00Speaker 2: Is that what's going on? That's not what's going on.
- 36:04Speaker 5: But and I'm sorry that I led you to think
- 36:08Speaker 5: that that's that's on me.
- 36:11Speaker 2: I have failed to communicate. But hold on, wait, Jamir,
- 36:16Speaker 2: you're so look. She starts noticing the fury passing for
- 36:21Speaker 2: a second, all of the bruising, even on your face
- 36:26Speaker 2: and on your arms. Wait, Jamir, what the hell? What happened?
- 36:30Speaker 3: I got fucked up? Dude?
- 36:32Speaker 2: Did what?
- 36:33Speaker 1: Like?
- 36:33Speaker 2: Did Cono cops get you like? What?
- 36:38Speaker 3: No?
- 36:39Speaker 2: No Irish Mob, I'm pretty sure Irish mob. What the hell? Jamir?
- 36:46Speaker 2: What have you? What are you doing?
- 36:50Speaker 3: Oh? Jackie? Can I can? I lay down?
- 36:56Speaker 2: Tell me what's going on first? And you can lay down? Jamir.
- 37:00Speaker 3: Two things happened today.
- 37:04Speaker 5: I got shot a lot and I met the Wraith.
- 37:11Speaker 2: Okay, oh I know, I know.
- 37:19Speaker 5: I swear to God. I talked to the Wraith. Wait,
- 37:27Speaker 5: we need to go back to you got shot me?
- 37:29Speaker 3: Laid down? Please?
- 37:32Speaker 2: You just told me you got shot a lot. To me,
- 37:35Speaker 2: I rip open my shirt for no reason.
- 37:43Speaker 5: I start in the middle, right where my solar plexus
- 37:46Speaker 5: is and just like pop the fibers as if it
- 37:50Speaker 5: was silk, silky spiderwebs, and I destroyed. I destroyed this
- 38:00Speaker 5: perfectly fired shirt just to show Jackie how fucked up
- 38:05Speaker 5: I am.
- 38:05Speaker 3: I'm also imagining to you that before you got your powers,
- 38:08Speaker 3: you weren't ripped, and now you are.
- 38:11Speaker 4: No.
- 38:12Speaker 5: Yeahmer was a wiry fellow, but definitely not cripped. I
- 38:16Speaker 5: don't know, am I ripped or am I just super
- 38:18Speaker 5: strong and not ripped.
- 38:19Speaker 2: I think that's up to you, Jamir. What do you
- 38:21Speaker 2: want to be? You know what to do? You know what?
- 38:25Speaker 3: You know what the people want.
- 38:26Speaker 5: I think Jamiro would be seventy five percent more ripped.
- 38:35Speaker 2: Jackie says, wait, Jamir, when did you get so ripped?
- 38:43Speaker 3: In time?
- 38:44Speaker 2: In time, we'll jump over to the manor Jamir's house.
- 38:55Speaker 2: The three of you come back here. Dirk included, Oh,
- 39:00Speaker 2: are rebranding. Oh I thought of darker times. Perhaps called
- 39:06Speaker 2: for a darker Dirk. I don't know, darker bright blade,
- 39:10Speaker 2: dark blade, Yeah, something like that.
- 39:13Speaker 3: It's awesome.
- 39:15Speaker 1: Yeah, you look really cool.
- 39:17Speaker 2: No, thank you, gosh, I want to look cool.
- 39:20Speaker 3: Yeah, you're your costumes in the works.
- 39:22Speaker 1: It's okay, Yeah, I'm really excited.
- 39:25Speaker 2: Well, we found my sister Swift shot.
- 39:29Speaker 3: Yeah, I found her. And good news, bad news. I mean,
- 39:33Speaker 3: do you have a preference, Quanta, mm hm bad She's
- 39:39Speaker 3: gone dead, disappeared, disappeared. Okay, but the good news is
- 39:45Speaker 3: she's no longer being controlled by the yakuza.
- 39:49Speaker 2: We destroyed the controlling device.
- 39:52Speaker 3: We believe and I'm not one hundred percent because I
- 39:55Speaker 3: can't see into her but soul question mark.
- 40:01Speaker 2: Oh you think her eyes did open in a new way?
- 40:05Speaker 4: Why? Oh?
- 40:07Speaker 1: I hope she's okay. She's probably so scared.
- 40:09Speaker 2: She seemed terrified, and this will be my act of
- 40:15Speaker 2: finding her, and I will have to bid you.
- 40:17Speaker 1: Hey, hey, woll whoa, don't do this again. Don't do
- 40:20Speaker 1: this again.
- 40:20Speaker 2: I have to go find her. She's out there alone. Yeah,
- 40:23Speaker 2: but we yeah, well we're gonna help you.
- 40:25Speaker 1: Didn't you used to be a part of a team.
- 40:27Speaker 1: Didn't you do this with people before?
- 40:29Speaker 4: Yes, my team is right here, right here, now, your
- 40:37Speaker 4: team is right here now.
- 40:51Speaker 2: Very well.
- 40:52Speaker 4: Plus, I could probably really help with this. I can
- 40:56Speaker 4: find people pretty easily.
- 40:57Speaker 2: Fine, fine, I will stay.
- 41:00Speaker 1: Thank you. I gave him a little side hug real quick.
- 41:03Speaker 2: He reciprocates. You. Guys come into the nest and Maria
- 41:07Speaker 2: is there looking nervous.
- 41:09Speaker 1: Hi, Maria is everything okay?
- 41:13Speaker 2: Oh I believe so. Yes, there's a man here.
- 41:19Speaker 3: It is your dad.
- 41:21Speaker 2: Who Oh, I don't know. He wanted to see the
- 41:25Speaker 2: master of the house. I told him he's not here.
- 41:29Speaker 1: He's not here. We thought he'd be here.
- 41:31Speaker 3: Oh.
- 41:32Speaker 2: So yelling into the earpiece Roger. He said he would wait.
- 41:38Speaker 4: I would like to push my sense out and up
- 41:41Speaker 4: to see if I recognize the person that's here.
- 41:44Speaker 2: Roll a sens check. This is an average check. So
- 41:47Speaker 2: I'm rolling a D.
- 41:47Speaker 1: Eight sensin skin and sinsinskin.
- 41:51Speaker 2: I rolled a one.
- 41:52Speaker 1: Oh, I rolled an eight.
- 41:54Speaker 2: You push your sense up. You do sense two people upstairs.
- 41:59Speaker 2: One is you didn't know, one you recognize. But one
- 42:02Speaker 2: thing you do sense up there is something very much
- 42:06Speaker 2: like the Everheart. Where in Jamir's living room with these people,
- 42:13Speaker 2: yes on one of these.
- 42:15Speaker 1: People, Maria did did they say who they were?
- 42:18Speaker 2: No? They said they wanted to speak to the master
- 42:22Speaker 2: of the house. And we're a little forceful coming in
- 42:26Speaker 2: tell them they have to wait. If you don't mind, well,
- 42:30Speaker 2: can you, oh yeah, just do that? Would you you
- 42:40Speaker 2: don't want talk to them?
- 42:42Speaker 3: Well? Do they did they ask for Jamir specifically my
- 42:46Speaker 3: name or did they just say the master of the
- 42:48Speaker 3: house master.
- 42:49Speaker 4: We are not putting on the everyone costume by pretending okay, okay, okay, but.
- 42:53Speaker 1: I didn't even have to read your body to do that.
- 42:56Speaker 3: I'm not saying we wear his grandma's clothes in particular instance. Okay,
- 43:02Speaker 3: I mean I was thinking that that's a good catch.
- 43:04Speaker 3: But one of us could just talk to them if
- 43:08Speaker 3: they don't know who they're looking for.
- 43:11Speaker 4: Jamiir doesn't want any heat on this place, and they
- 43:15Speaker 4: came in through the front door. If we if I
- 43:18Speaker 4: go up there, you know, I could try to do
- 43:21Speaker 4: the thing I did with you before, try to make
- 43:23Speaker 4: them see something else. But otherwise, I you know, no offense.
- 43:29Speaker 4: But I think I should be the one to go
- 43:30Speaker 4: up there and talk to them. If someone's going to oh.
- 43:33Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, no, I think you should, and I can
- 43:35Speaker 3: go put on the everwing suit. Why, I just felt comfortable,
- 43:40Speaker 3: but I felt supportive in a god in the chest.
- 43:44Speaker 1: Yeah, you just do you need a brand, You just
- 43:48Speaker 1: need a broad Jason.
- 43:49Speaker 3: I'm not gonna say no, but I can hide and
- 43:52Speaker 3: listen and if things go sideways.
- 43:55Speaker 2: One of them seems maybe dangerous. I don't know, Hey,
- 44:00Speaker 2: Maria weird dangerous. She looks troubled.
- 44:06Speaker 4: I would like to sense again, and after trying to
- 44:11Speaker 4: see who they were, now understand their.
- 44:15Speaker 1: What am I looking for?
- 44:17Speaker 2: Dynamic motives?
- 44:19Speaker 1: Yeah, like I would love to sense what they're feeling
- 44:21Speaker 1: their motives, like their current state.
- 44:23Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, on your success. You succeeded very very well.
- 44:29Speaker 2: I think we'll ride that wave. Yeah. You sense the
- 44:34Speaker 2: man sitting here is here for your help. You sense
- 44:39Speaker 2: that the other person with them, You begin to sense
- 44:43Speaker 2: something very similar to the everwing suit.
- 44:47Speaker 1: As you focus so the heart and the suit.
- 44:51Speaker 2: Around this person, you you recognize a more in depth
- 44:57Speaker 2: and intricate piece of heart hardware, and they are here
- 45:02Speaker 2: to protect the person there with.
- 45:05Speaker 4: I'm just I'm gonna maybe just put on some normal clothes,
- 45:09Speaker 4: but I don't still cover my face so I don't look. No, no,
- 45:14Speaker 4: I'm just gonna go as Quanta. I'm going as Quanta.
- 45:16Speaker 3: I'll be in the bookshelf.
- 45:18Speaker 1: Heighty ho.
- 45:21Speaker 2: You guys, head up to meet.
- 45:27Speaker 3: Toe.
- 45:28Speaker 2: You head up to meet this mysterious visitor.
- 45:32Speaker 3: Jamiir.
- 45:33Speaker 2: Jackie lets you lay down after seeing all the bruises
- 45:36Speaker 2: and the bleeding coming from your chest.
- 45:38Speaker 3: Your your piece rattles in your box.
- 45:44Speaker 2: Over. Thank you so much, jack Okay, now that I
- 45:47Speaker 2: let you lay down, you gotta tell me what's going on.
- 45:50Speaker 5: Yeah, of course, of course. I look at her hard
- 45:57Speaker 5: meeting her gaze, deciding if I should do this or not.
- 46:06Speaker 2: Jackie, I'm Rachel smile creeps across her face. I knew it.
- 46:31Speaker 2: I knew it can't have been gone this long without
- 46:34Speaker 2: something really bad happening, something really fucking crazy happening. Yeah,
- 46:40Speaker 2: no shit, Jamiir, you went to your grandma's house, you
- 46:43Speaker 2: found that sash, and that's like the last time I
- 46:46Speaker 2: heard from you. And then this hero named Rachel started
- 46:50Speaker 2: popping up. And guess what, Jamir, I followed around where
- 46:54Speaker 2: you've been going, because that's what I do. I'm Jackie, motherfucker.
- 47:00Speaker 2: And I went to all the places that Rigel has
- 47:03Speaker 2: been spotted, and guess where Rise has been spotted, Mostly
- 47:06Speaker 2: in the shoot and around the Mayor's office where we
- 47:09Speaker 2: lost Taylor. So I knew it. I freaking knew it, Jamir.
- 47:15Speaker 3: My motherfucking jack.
- 47:18Speaker 5: Oh Jackie, maybe I'm stupid, no offense, but if you
- 47:22Speaker 5: could figure it out?
- 47:23Speaker 3: Who else?
- 47:24Speaker 2: No, no, no, no, I'm jack I'm Jackie, dude. We've we've
- 47:28Speaker 2: been doing this for a long long time. We had
- 47:31Speaker 2: I'm really good at it, and no one else cares
- 47:34Speaker 2: about this like we do, Jamir. This is freaking awesome.
- 47:38Speaker 2: I'm so stoked. Thanks for telling me. I wonder I
- 47:42Speaker 2: was wondering kind of how long it was gonna take.
- 47:44Speaker 2: I was stoked before.
- 47:46Speaker 5: I mean, I'm I met the Wraith, Jackie, so I am,
- 47:50Speaker 5: I know, Tell me stoked.
- 47:53Speaker 2: I'm cracked out of my gord right now. Tell me
- 47:56Speaker 2: everything about the Wraith? What did what did he look like?
- 47:58Speaker 2: What is what?
- 47:59Speaker 3: What I did?
- 48:00Speaker 2: Did not get a good look? You didn't get a
- 48:02Speaker 2: good look? No, you said you met the Wraith. How
- 48:05Speaker 2: do you meet someone without getting a good look. I
- 48:08Speaker 2: fought with them. They we fought together against these mobsters.
- 48:13Speaker 2: Oh cool, it was very cool. But also I got.
- 48:19Speaker 3: Shot a lot.
- 48:21Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 48:22Speaker 5: The Wraith was firing from cover, and I will be
- 48:28Speaker 5: completely honest, I would have totally gotten my ass handed
- 48:32Speaker 5: to me if the Wraith had not shown up, like
- 48:34Speaker 5: I was considering immediately fleeing, maybe trying to take a
- 48:39Speaker 5: couple out with me. But the Wraith, together again mostly
- 48:47Speaker 5: carried by the wraith. Eighty twenty situation, we were able
- 48:51Speaker 5: to kick their asses, damn and at the end, awesome.
- 48:56Speaker 5: The Wraith spoke to me, spoke, but it wasn't like
- 49:02Speaker 5: being you talking. It was like kind of in my head,
- 49:06Speaker 5: but coming from them.
- 49:08Speaker 2: Wow, wow, Wow, what did what do they sound like
- 49:11Speaker 2: what did they say? They just told me good work kid,
- 49:17Speaker 2: whow Okay, so we might be able to glean from
- 49:20Speaker 2: that that they're older than you, which makes sense because
- 49:22Speaker 2: they've been around for a long time. Yes, it does. Yeah, yeah,
- 49:25Speaker 2: that's awesome. What if the raid said that to me? Wait, no,
- 49:29Speaker 2: that wouldn't happen. This is so cool. It's good to
- 49:32Speaker 2: know that the Wraith is real. And actually it's all
- 49:35Speaker 2: so fucking cool.
- 49:36Speaker 3: Dude. Yeah, it's all so cool cool.
- 49:40Speaker 5: I'm smiling through the pains. Get blood ter comfort Jacko, Jackie,
- 49:48Speaker 5: hold on, I reach out. I reach up slightly my
- 49:52Speaker 5: left hand to take her hand Jackie.
- 49:55Speaker 2: Yeah, my grandmother. Yeah was ever way? Oh that's so cool.
- 50:05Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 50:07Speaker 2: I knew she had to do something with it, and
- 50:09Speaker 2: I guess it makes sense. I should have put that together,
- 50:11Speaker 2: that you found the sash in her house. That makes
- 50:13Speaker 2: I mean, that's that's clue I had. I mean, yeah,
- 50:18Speaker 2: the sash was.
- 50:20Speaker 5: I needed help, and but I didn't after Taylor, I
- 50:24Speaker 5: didn't want to immediately just I don't know. This is
- 50:27Speaker 5: this is fucking dangerous, dude. I I I've already confronted
- 50:35Speaker 5: half the lady who shot Taylor in the head.
- 50:38Speaker 2: Wow, did you kill her?
- 50:40Speaker 3: No?
- 50:41Speaker 5: I could have, right, but you went and felt wrong. Yes,
- 50:46Speaker 5: you're a hero. I'm a hero. I can't just go
- 50:49Speaker 5: snapping people's necks and back valleys.
- 50:52Speaker 2: Even though you can, you don't. You shouldn't. Where where?
- 50:55Speaker 3: Where? Where? Does that end?
- 50:56Speaker 2: Right?
- 50:57Speaker 3: Once you start snapping?
- 50:58Speaker 2: How many snaps until the world's healed? Right? Yeah?
- 51:02Speaker 5: So I I'm staring down the you know, the barrel
- 51:08Speaker 5: hole of evil, and I don't really know what I'm doing.
- 51:13Speaker 5: I have a couple of friends you've read about. They're cool,
- 51:18Speaker 5: but they also do not know what they're doing. We
- 51:21Speaker 5: are in way over our heads and I am scared
- 51:27Speaker 5: that we have not made any progress stopping with the
- 51:30Speaker 5: mayor in the city council have been cooking up, but
- 51:34Speaker 5: there's just so much crazy shit.
- 51:36Speaker 3: Going on in this city.
- 51:38Speaker 5: Jackie like, I mean, there's multiple gangs that you know,
- 51:44Speaker 5: you know about, But then when you're a hero, you're like, man,
- 51:47Speaker 5: maybe we should do something about them. I'm still just
- 51:51Speaker 5: also trying to figure out exactly what my powers are
- 51:55Speaker 5: and how they work, and the extent to which I
- 51:58Speaker 5: can do stuff with them. It's it's been a lot
- 52:03Speaker 5: and I'm so excited to tell you this, but simultaneously,
- 52:07Speaker 5: I'm so scared. I'm so scared, Jackie. Jack I didn't
- 52:12Speaker 5: tell you, Jackie. I I was in the room. I
- 52:18Speaker 5: was looking at the Taylor's eyes and they but they
- 52:23Speaker 5: shot him. They made me watch him die, Jackie.
- 52:31Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 52:32Speaker 3: And I don't. I whatever I think about telling you,
- 52:44Speaker 3: you're telling.
- 52:46Speaker 2: My dad.
- 52:49Speaker 5: Or Leah or anyone, I imagine being back in that room,
- 52:55Speaker 5: sitting across from you when you died, and I see,
- 53:03Speaker 5: I don't.
- 53:06Speaker 3: I can't. I can't take I can't take an other
- 53:11Speaker 3: day like that.
- 53:12Speaker 2: Man.
- 53:14Speaker 3: But I.
- 53:16Speaker 2: Haven't even I haven't even forgiven myself for Taylor. That
- 53:32Speaker 2: was before you add powers. Yeah, it wasn't your fault, Jamir. Here,
- 53:49Speaker 2: she goes over and gets a blanket, puts it on.
- 53:54Speaker 3: You.
- 53:55Speaker 2: Get some sleep. We'll talk more tomorrow.
- 53:59Speaker 5: Jack I don't know, man, If I if I sleep
- 54:05Speaker 5: here and wake up, your mom is gonna start getting
- 54:09Speaker 5: all excited and it's gonna be a whole thing.
- 54:12Speaker 2: Dude, What do you mean She's just gonna like make
- 54:15Speaker 2: us some really good breakfast. She you've slept here before.
- 54:19Speaker 2: It's been a minute, though, dude. Yeah, but I don't know.
- 54:23Speaker 3: I should, I should.
- 54:26Speaker 2: I gotta hold on. Let me check in with my people.
- 54:32Speaker 2: I open up my box and she, uh, before you
- 54:36Speaker 2: open up your box and get out of the bed,
- 54:38Speaker 2: she like puts her hand on your shoulder and like
- 54:42Speaker 2: forces you, tries to force you back down on the bed. Jimior,
- 54:47Speaker 2: I got it. What do you need to check in with?
- 54:50Speaker 2: And she goes over to the box. Oh, there's just
- 54:53Speaker 2: like a little ear piece thing. Just just sorry, Yeah,
- 54:56Speaker 2: it fits right in my ear canal. It's really advanced technology,
- 55:01Speaker 2: I guess. But oh cool. She puts it in her
- 55:03Speaker 2: ear Hell over, Hey, Rachel's fine, he's here at my place.
- 55:12Speaker 2: He needs a rest, Jackie. She takes it out and
- 55:16Speaker 2: puts it back in the box.
- 55:19Speaker 1: Jason and I just struggling each other, keep going up
- 55:21Speaker 1: the metal stairs.
- 55:26Speaker 3: Yeah, the bra of the everywing, Jim would be noticing,
- 55:34Speaker 3: would be more upset a Jackie.
- 55:35Speaker 5: But I'm just so exhausted and leying in this bed
- 55:39Speaker 5: feels so good that I think I just drift right off.
- 55:47Speaker 2: You had to bed. The two of you come up
- 55:49Speaker 2: the stairs. Dirk stays downstairs.
- 55:53Speaker 1: Can we enter the main house and in a place
- 55:58Speaker 1: where they are not so they don't see the entrance. Okay, excellent.
- 56:02Speaker 2: Uh no, unless you want to go outside and come
- 56:07Speaker 2: into the back door.
- 56:08Speaker 1: Yeah, let's do that.
- 56:10Speaker 3: Okay, I think you should go. You should You're going
- 56:13Speaker 3: to like talk to this, Yes, you stay at the bookcase. Yeah,
- 56:15Speaker 3: I'm going to try and I'm going to try and
- 56:17Speaker 3: become one with paper one more time to get into.
- 56:19Speaker 2: The bookcase behind them. Okay, this is the last check.
- 56:25Speaker 2: Branch is your epic check, make a sneak check plus
- 56:28Speaker 2: your paper manipulation? Yeah, or is it your cloak? It's
- 56:33Speaker 2: actually it is my cloak technically, I this is the
- 56:37Speaker 2: last check to succeed on this branching power and just
- 56:39Speaker 2: have it to be something you can do. I'm rolling
- 56:41Speaker 2: an epic checks with the D twenty.
- 56:46Speaker 3: I could failed on the dtail. I got a five total.
- 56:51Speaker 3: All right.
- 56:52Speaker 2: You see Jason swhirling trying to become paper, focusing his
- 56:58Speaker 2: paper into himself and trying to be thin and slip
- 57:01Speaker 2: through the crack of the door and get into the bookshelves.
- 57:05Speaker 2: But then just flip rams into the door and doesn't
- 57:08Speaker 2: slip through.
- 57:09Speaker 3: Yeah, I'll just like fall into the room. I think
- 57:11Speaker 3: at this point, just onto the floor.
- 57:15Speaker 2: Oh, Jason, as you look up from the ground, you
- 57:18Speaker 2: see someone you recognize. Quanta. You know this face as well,
- 57:23Speaker 2: just from their fame. Mister Ellington, Manny Ellington sits on
- 57:28Speaker 2: your couch drinking a cup of tea. He is an
- 57:32Speaker 2: imposing figure, takes up a lot of space. He boasts
- 57:37Speaker 2: a tall and strong build. His hair falls just past
- 57:41Speaker 2: his ears. His clothing is casual. A cane of cedar
- 57:47Speaker 2: rests on his lap, and behind him is a dark
- 57:51Speaker 2: figure in a sleek clawed, dark, dark purple mechsuit the
- 57:58Speaker 2: same shape of the Ever aren't glowing in their chest.
- 58:02Speaker 2: The mechs helmet is the head of a dragon. Low
- 58:08Speaker 2: laying spikes shoot out the back of their head and
- 58:11Speaker 2: it points to a curved snout with wicked black teeth.
- 58:16Speaker 2: And that's where we'll end this episode.
