- 0:00I will share with you seven easy steps to become a digital Nomad,
- 0:04so that you can leave the rat race for good.
- 0:07Travel the world, working remotely doing what you love.
- 0:12I have been a digital Nomad for over two years now, and it's the
- 0:16best thing ever. It literally is, I could never
- 0:19go back to working in a cubicle. Like I used to do right now.
- 0:23I'm working as our freedom coach teaching people, how to leave
- 0:27the rat race and make money doing what they love.
- 0:30And I am also the founder of the blog, the spirit, no matter.
- 0:33Make sure to watch until the very end because I will be
- 0:36sharing a little gift for you. That you don't want to miss if
- 0:40you want to become a digital Nomad and don't forget to
- 0:43subscribe and join the spirit Nomad Community.
- 0:46If you want more digital Nomad tips in the future, number one
- 0:50is get inspired. You might have heard that, you
- 0:53are a result of the people. You you have around you.
- 0:57So it's so important to be Part of a community, otherwise it
- 1:02will feel very lonely and it's very easy to get back into Old
- 1:05Habits, like getting an office job.
- 1:07And yeah, your parents might tell you, you need to get a real
- 1:10job, but if you have a supporting community that, I
- 1:13will be so so much easier. Trust me.
- 1:16So what you can do is you can join a meetup groups.
- 1:20You can join Facebook groups. For example, I have the Facebook
- 1:24group digital Nomad women, where we are a big group of digital.
- 1:29No man, women or women who wants to become digital Nomads and we
- 1:32can all support each other. We can, we can answer each
- 1:35other's questions and it's just a very very valuable especially
- 1:40when you're starting out as a digital Nomad.
- 1:43A book, I can highly recommend this vagabonding by Ralph pots.
- 1:47It's a really shatters the myth that you have to be rolling in
- 1:50money to be able to travel travel.
- 1:52Long-term another Mastery. This of course, the 4-Hour Work
- 1:58Week, by Tim Ferriss. Which is actually the book that
- 2:01inspired me to become a digital Nomad.
- 2:03You can also follow digital Nomads on Instagram, such as my,
- 2:07my account, which is at the Spirit Nomad and also my
- 2:12community that Community account which is digital Nomad women,
- 2:17and hashtags such as hashtag digital Nomad.
- 2:21Hashtag laptop, lifestyle and other digital Nomad hashtags.
- 2:27Step number two, identify by what you are good at and your
- 2:31passions. So you might feel like, oh, I
- 2:35have no skills that I can use as a digital Nomad.
- 2:39Well, that is completely wrong. Everyone has some kind of
- 2:43passion and you can teach that passion to other people, right?
- 2:47You can create an online course, you can create a book and ebook
- 2:52or YouTube channel teaching it. You can become a freelancer and
- 2:56help people coach people in your hobby, where that is, A video
- 3:01game like Dota or it could be a gardening or are whatever that
- 3:08might be you can teach it to someone another really great one
- 3:12that we all a school we all have is language you probably know
- 3:16some kind of language right? And you can teach this language
- 3:20to other people. So one thing I do to get income
- 3:24as teach Swedish and in I first I thought that nobody's going to
- 3:28want to learn Swedish Shhhh. We can all speak English in
- 3:31Sweden and it's just a small language but believe me there
- 3:35has been a huge demand and it's been a very easy for me.
- 3:40So if you can if so if so if I can take teach Swedish online
- 3:45and the demand for that then you can definitely teach your
- 3:49language. So there are platforms like the
- 3:51verbling or italki. I shock is the one I use and a
- 3:55few others where you can teach Language online.
- 3:58You also want to identify Your hard and soft skills.
- 4:02Soft skills is like more about personality like your strengths
- 4:05and weaknesses. For example, if your social or
- 4:09if you're a good listener and the hard skills is more like
- 4:12what you learned in school, what do you have professional
- 4:14experience? And look at all this, like what
- 4:17you're passionate about your hard and soft skills and what
- 4:21you've learned about your experience.
- 4:24So you don't have to start with what you're most passionate
- 4:28about. If you just quickly.
- 4:29I want to get out of the Rat Race.
- 4:31Just try to make do what you did when you had an office job.
- 4:36Remotely, step three is build your new skills.
- 4:42So now that you have identified what you want to do as a digital
- 4:45Nomad is time to build those skills and there are many ways
- 4:50you can build skills. One is to go to university, take
- 4:54courses there but that is not necessary anymore.
- 4:57I think that's a very very few professions where you need it.
- 4:59Most of the degree nowadays. There are so many online
- 5:04platforms out there. I can highly recommend you to me
- 5:08and skill shares, I will link it below if you want to learn
- 5:12programming, there's tons of platforms, like code academy
- 5:16team. Treehouse etcetera.
- 5:19Number four is to reduce your location ties and expenses.
- 5:25So when you just starting out as a digital Nomad, you don't want
- 5:27to have lots of Desserts, especially if it's like a
- 5:31location. Dependent cost like a gym
- 5:35membership. For example, if you will be
- 5:36traveling all over the world, that is so useless to have.
- 5:40So, for example, if you have a car, it might be a good idea to
- 5:43sell it. You don't have to keep like,
- 5:44buying that insurance and it's runs and so it doesn't decrease
- 5:48in value. Yeah, gym, memberships being
- 5:51even Netflix membership. If you really want to keep your
- 5:55cost down. Yeah, just identify What
- 6:01expenses you have? Take a look at previous month's
- 6:04bank statement, see what you're spending your money on and try
- 6:08to eliminate as much as possible.
- 6:10Also, think about where you going to do with a place where
- 6:12you're staying, are you going to rent out your place?
- 6:16And I will be a long-term Rend. Are you just going to keep it?
- 6:19Because you don't want people to come into your house.
- 6:22You can sell your place. All these things are things.
- 6:25You need to think about early on when you want to become a
- 6:28digital nomad. Step 5, get paid.
- 6:33So there are three paths. You can take freelancer online
- 6:37business or a remote job. So most digital Nomads start out
- 6:42as a freelancer so they will sign up for platforms like,
- 6:45upwork freelancer. People per hour fiver and they
- 6:51will sell their skill. When that is translation,
- 6:56copywriting programming, social, Management.
- 7:01You can also build your own website and have a diet.
- 7:06I have it there and then you can drive ads as a traffic through
- 7:09ads to your website and get people sign up for your services
- 7:14that way. It's a very easy way to get
- 7:16started as a digital Nomad. However, you are trading your
- 7:20time for money, which is not ideal in the long run.
- 7:23Ideally you want to be able to get that passive income so that
- 7:27you can make money while you sleep.
- 7:29So you have lots of time to do things, you love at least that's
- 7:33my philosophy. The other option is to start an
- 7:36online business. And this is again another way to
- 7:39make your work a bit more passive because that means that
- 7:43you can hire people to do things for you.
- 7:48Maybe, for example, let's say, you hate graphic design or your
- 7:51hip programming, or you hate sales, then you can Outsource
- 7:55these things to other people, so you can just spend your time on
- 7:58things that you really. By doing, and you can hire
- 8:01people from really really cheaply on up work.
- 8:04For example, you can get a virtual assistant for think,
- 8:07three dollars, an hour. Can you imagine how much time
- 8:12you would save by hiring a virtual assistant to do all
- 8:15these mundane tasks for you? So starting a business a little
- 8:21bit more risky Christ, little bit more Capital than a
- 8:24freelancer but if you're willing to start the risk, you can go
- 8:28ahead and start with a business straight away.
- 8:31Instead of going the freelancer route, first, it's completely up
- 8:33to you some common online. Businesses Subs, to start as a
- 8:37digital Nomad is Drop Shipping. Which is that you don't you have
- 8:41an online store but you don't have your own Warehouse with the
- 8:44stuff. So you have a supplier and every
- 8:47time someone orders something in your website, Is a player will
- 8:50send the product to the customer themselves, so it's less risky
- 8:56than having an online shop with your own Warehouse.
- 9:00Another common digital Nomad business is being a social media
- 9:05agency so you can have yourself or someone else help companies
- 9:13to manage their social media accounts.
- 9:17And the third option is just to to get a remote job.
- 9:20So this is the one that is most similar to the 95.
- 9:25It has the stability of 95 that you are.
- 9:28You have a contract, and you get a fixed salary, you work nine to
- 9:34five. So it's a very stable non risky
- 9:38option. However, do keep in mind that
- 9:42when you travel around the world, use will still have
- 9:44meeting in their time zone of where you live.
- 9:48So, It might mean that you have like meetings in the middle of
- 9:52the night and things like that. So, that's, that's good to keep
- 9:57in mind, is, of course, more time-consuming because you will
- 10:02be working in 95 even though your you can travel and have
- 10:06options for that. So it's less flexible, but it's
- 10:08a safe option. So where can you find remote
- 10:12jobs? Well, there are many job boards
- 10:14online. You have a, we work remotely
- 10:18Flex job. Oops.
- 10:19Or you can just search on a big search engine like, indeed for
- 10:24the profession and then plus remote or work from home and you
- 10:29can see what pops up in your country.
- 10:32There's also job spresso working know, math and remote.
- 10:36Okay. Step number six, decide on a
- 10:40location. So this will be very much an
- 10:44individual taste but something, some criteria or something.
- 10:49Most digital Nomads value are fast Internet safety.
- 10:57Whether rightmost digit, no one wants to be in Thailand or Spain
- 11:02or in Sun, Shines and low cost of living.
- 11:06So where can we find all these? Well, Shang, mine has been said
- 11:10to be the digital Nomad capital of the world.
- 11:14It has a great digital Nomad community, and they have the
- 11:17Nomad Summit. Um, friends there every year and
- 11:21this is really cheap, you can get a massage for like $5 or
- 11:25less and a great night markets. I can hide recommend Chiang, Mai
- 11:30Thailand, another popular one is Sheng gu in Bali.
- 11:35Also, low cost of living slightly more expensive, but a
- 11:38great additional amount community.
- 11:40And there you also have beaches, beautiful beaches.
- 11:45I just love having a sip of a coconut while I watch the She's
- 11:49such a nice way to take a break from work.
- 11:52Step, seven is to keep educating yourself.
- 11:57So learning never ends as a digital Nomad.
- 12:00You can't just say, I'm fully learned, I'm a fully fledged
- 12:04Nomad and I am a lonely, to learn again, like, some some
- 12:07office jobs, right? It's an ever-changing landscape.
- 12:12If you work in marketing, the marketing Trends will always
- 12:15vary the Google we changed her algorithms.
- 12:18So, So you always have to keep learning and growing.
- 12:22I also recommend that you find your community.
- 12:25So go on meetup.com, find added at the digital Nomads.
- 12:29Maybe join digital Nomad events like The Nomad Cruise know the
- 12:33know my train Nomad City in the North in Las Palmas I think yeah
- 12:40or co-working co-living Retreats like work wonders or work action
- 12:47which I can highly recommend. You want to travel with other
- 12:51Nomads instead of traveling solo and now it's time for my gift to
- 12:55you. As you may know I have the
- 12:58course cubicle to digital Nomad. By teach people how to leave the
- 13:03rat race. And it comes with several
- 13:05bonuses, such as racing vibrations to attract your

- 13:16you subscribe you now get 30%. Percent off the whole course,
- 13:22this is only for a new course students.
- 13:26So to get 30% off, only need to do is apply the code, YouTube
- 13:31sub-30, YouTube sub-30. Let me know in the comments if
- 13:36you want to become a digital Nomad or if you're already are
- 13:38digital Nomad and if you want to become a digital Nomad, what do
- 13:43you want to do is teach, you know.
