Transcript
- 0:00In October, 2026, microsoft starts disabling the protocol, apple mail still needs. This is MAG 7 Daily, episode 9. At the top of the tape, MacRumors reports the disable is now the default inside exchange online, and calendar on the Mac syncs microsoft 365 work accounts on that same protocol. Microsoft stopped adding features to exchange web services in 2018, and in 2023 it announced this exchange online cutoff.
- 0:29A post-microsoft updated in June calls the change of phased rollout, so some Mac users
- 0:35can lose access before others.
- 0:38Apple's platform deployment document says it is actively working with Microsoft to move
- 0:43mail, calendar, contacts, notes and reminders on the Mac onto the Microsoft Graph API.
- 0:50That move is aimed at a future Mac OS 27 update.
- 0:54Gemini 4, already the replacement for the 3.5 Pro line, now has a shipping model called
- 1:01Argon, and Yahoo Finance reports the first users are trusted cybersecurity researchers.
- 1:07Paid API customers and Google AI ultra-subscribers are expected to get it next, ahead of developers,
- 1:14businesses, and consumers.
- 1:15Google said Argon scored 77.9% on the deep SWE version 1.1 coding benchmark and called
- 1:24that a record. Jeffries noted it still trails leading competitors on Frontier SWE version
- 1:302. Google said the model can autonomously identify, verify, and address software vulnerabilities.
- 1:37And for this first cyber rollout, it is handing Argon to trusted defenders and internal
- 1:42teams without some standard safeguards.
- 1:45Wiz is using it through scan for good.
- 1:48The output cap is now 1 million tokens, up from 64,000.
- 1:53And Google said it is already running argon internally for software
- 1:56development and data center optimization.
- 1:59AWS has been granted planning permission for a data center in
- 2:03Iver, in the UK, data center dynamics reports.
- 2:07Techirati reports that approval came despite environmental concerns.
- 2:11Amazon Web Services has signed a multi-year agreement with Synopsis worth over $1 billion,
- 2:18focused on custom chip design, simply Wall Street reports. The deal positions AWS as a leading
- 2:24customer for Synopsis Silicon IP tailored for AI data center workloads. The contract includes both
- 2:31licensing and royalty components. Those components point to ongoing commercial use of Synopsis
- 2:37technology inside AWS in-house silicon.
- 2:41The mail cutoff is not a same-day loss for every work account.
- 2:45MacRumors reports that organizations which chose to keep exchange web services running
- 2:50are not affected for now, and an IT administrator can still restore access.
- 2:56Those organizations can also move Mac users to a graph compatible client such as Outlook.
- 3:02Companies that run their own exchange servers sit outside the change.
- 3:05iPhone and iPad are not in it because they sink through exchange active sync rather than
- 3:11exchange web services.
- 3:13Jeffree's prices are gone at $2 per million input tokens, and the silicon note published
- 3:19with Amazon's deal already names rivals across the 7.
- 3:23The same brokerage card puts output at $10 per million tokens, and Thropix Clawed Fable
- 3:29$5.1 is $10.50 on that split, and Claude Opus $5.5 is $4.20, Jeffries said.
- 3:38Google is also offering a 95% discount on cashed input tokens, according to that brokerage
- 3:45note.
- 3:46Jeffries said Argon ranked first for coding on LLM Arena's Text Arena, and 8th on Code
- 3:52Arena for web development, 21 places above Gemini 3.8 Flash.
- 3:57On CWE Bench version 1, a test built for vulnerability fixes, Argon tied GROC 4.7 at 68%, the brokerage
- 4:07said. Figures Jeffrey cited put prompt injection success at 0.7% against Argon, versus 1% for
- 4:16Claude Opus 5.5 and Fable 5.1. Anthropics competing models stop at an output limit of 128,000 tokens,
- 4:25Jeffries said. Google said Argon also produced results on tests covering automation,
- 4:32long-form video, and professional work in finance, legal services, and tax.
- 4:37The synopsis deal note says the partnership tightens the AWS stack in the same way
- 4:42and video, alphabet, and Microsoft are pushing their own tailored chips.
- 4:47Amazon is the customer in that agreement, and those three are the peers
- 4:51the note places on the same path. On April 1, 2027, Microsoft plans to shut down exchange
- 4:58web services in exchange online for good, and no extensions are currently planned.
- 5:04Before we go, that April 1, 2027 shutdown is the hard date on the exchange protocol.
