- 0:00Speaker 1: Guess who?
- 0:02Speaker 2: It's 10 o'clock.
- 0:02Speaker 3: Do you care where your parents are?
- 0:04Speaker 4: This episode is rated M for Misty. Yes, that's right,
- 0:08Speaker 4: this is a Misty episode, so it will be laced
- 0:10Speaker 4: with profanity even more than usual. If you're not comfortable
- 0:13Speaker 4: with this level of profanity, perhaps this isn't the episode
- 0:16Speaker 4: for you. But we have many other episodes to choose
- 0:18Speaker 4: from that do not feature Misty and will probably be
- 0:21Speaker 4: far less offensive. Okay, maybe. With that having been said,
- 0:25Speaker 4: on with the show.
- 0:33Speaker 5: Defense Corps forces reported just moments ago.
- 0:38Speaker 1: This is not a drill.
- 0:39Speaker 2: Repeat, this is not the drill.
- 0:41Speaker 6: At this time, we are requesting the immediate and orderly
- 0:46Speaker 6: evacuation of the vicinity.
- 0:49Speaker 7: The Coast Guard and the Navy have been alerted and
- 0:51Speaker 7: are standing by on the eastern seaboard.
- 0:53Speaker 3: And it continues to burn out of control.
- 0:56Speaker 4: It has been regular.
- 0:57Speaker 8: Every five to ten minutes, there has been another convoy
- 0:59Speaker 8: of units, fire.
- 1:01Speaker 1: Companies, paramedics.
- 1:03Speaker 2: A citywide emergency has been declared.
- 1:05Speaker 3: Police officers are still on tactical full alert.
- 1:08Speaker 2: 2,000 National Guardsmen are standing by.
- 1:11Speaker 1: Air defense warning read.
- 1:14Speaker 6: We're doomed!
- 1:17Speaker 4: It's time for Movie Meltdown's Attack of the Killers soundtrack.
- 1:21Speaker 5: The live transmission has begun, and we're into the final
- 1:24Speaker 5: hour of hell.
- 1:25Speaker 6: MUSIC PLAYS.
- 1:44Speaker 8: What's up? Welcome to Movie Meltdown's Attack of the Killers soundtrack.
- 1:47Speaker 8: I'm Brian, and today I'm coming to you from inside
- 1:50Speaker 8: a vehicle. Right now, we're moving down the road. And
- 1:54Speaker 8: with me, luckily it's somebody else here because I'm not
- 1:58Speaker 8: recording and driving, so then the car would have to... Anyway,
- 2:01Speaker 8: we've got somebody behind the wheel.
- 2:02Speaker 2: We have Jay. Hey.
- 2:04Speaker 8: If you're familiar with the cast of the other Movie
- 2:08Speaker 8: Meltdown show, you'll be quite familiar with these two. Jay
- 2:12Speaker 8: and Misty. Hey! The infamous Misty.
- 2:15Speaker 3: Is that good or bad? That's usually bad, isn't it?
- 2:17Speaker 6: Infamous. Infamous.
- 2:20Speaker 2: More than famous.
- 2:21Speaker 8: A plethora of songs we have for you today. So,
- 2:24Speaker 8: we've had a running theme on our show of road
- 2:28Speaker 8: trip episodes. Anyway, that's just sort of, you know, I
- 2:30Speaker 8: think every week is sort of a a movie geek adventure.
- 2:33Speaker 8: What are we doing this time? All right, let's see
- 2:35Speaker 8: what happens. So we, we ended up going different places
- 2:38Speaker 8: and talking to different people. And I thought with this one,
- 2:40Speaker 8: you know, we, it's sort of a theme with movie
- 2:43Speaker 8: meltdown in general. So we'd go ahead and spill over
- 2:45Speaker 8: into this other show. But at the same time I
- 2:47Speaker 8: started thinking, I'm like, well, and where else did you like,
- 2:52Speaker 8: initially put together your own playlist like before you had
- 2:55Speaker 8: your iTunes before you had an mp3 player like where
- 2:59Speaker 8: were you putting together you know your own little play
- 3:01Speaker 8: you're like oh we're going on a road trip let's
- 3:03Speaker 8: see I gotta play this I gotta play that I
- 3:04Speaker 8: mean that's kind of what you used to do anyway
- 3:06Speaker 8: back in the day before technology made it really easy
- 3:08Speaker 8: to do all that stuff so I don't know I
- 3:10Speaker 8: thought this would be more of a retro kind of
- 3:12Speaker 8: hey let's pick some songs we want to play for
- 3:14Speaker 8: other people while we're all jammed in a car.
- 3:16Speaker 3: Are we telling them where we're going.
- 3:18Speaker 8: If you that was my next thing is you know
- 3:20Speaker 8: being geeks that we are.
- 3:22Speaker 3: None of my songs are going to be relevant to
- 3:23Speaker 3: where we're going.
- 3:23Speaker 8: No, but we might as well.
- 3:25Speaker 3: I mean, we are going somewhere pretty fucking awesome. So,
- 3:27Speaker 3: I mean.
- 3:28Speaker 8: We are dorks. You guys, it doesn't tie into movies
- 3:32Speaker 8: very much.
- 3:32Speaker 3: I want to tell them.
- 3:33Speaker 8: I want to tell them where we're going. Which is
- 3:34Speaker 8: why I didn't plan a whole, you know, episode around it.
- 3:38Speaker 8: But I thought we could have fun doing an episode
- 3:39Speaker 8: on the way there. So, okay, Misty, where are we going?
- 3:43Speaker 3: We are going to the Dukes of fucking Hazard fanfare, bitches.
- 3:47Speaker 3: I'm so fucking excited.
- 3:49Speaker 6: Oh, yeah.
- 3:50Speaker 4: The humanity.
- 3:51Speaker 3: John Schneider. I love me some John Schneider. He has
- 3:54Speaker 3: aged remarkably well. A whole lot better than Catherine Bach,
- 3:57Speaker 3: who looks kind of scary, I guess, would be a
- 4:00Speaker 3: good term.
- 4:01Speaker 9: Maybe.
- 4:02Speaker 3: That's being nice.
- 4:02Speaker 8: I've seen some other pictures lately. She can clean herself
- 4:05Speaker 8: up and still look like Catherine Bach. I've seen some scary.
- 4:09Speaker 3: She had some work done.
- 4:10Speaker 8: I've seen some scary pictures people have thrown out on
- 4:12Speaker 8: the internet. But, you know, everybody looks bad on a
- 4:14Speaker 8: bad day.
- 4:14Speaker 3: I don't look bad on a bad day.
- 4:16Speaker 8: So, you know... It's all about how you present yourself,
- 4:20Speaker 8: I'd say.
- 4:22Speaker 3: Hopefully she's not wearing the Daisy Dukes because I don't
- 4:24Speaker 3: need to see that much of Catherine Buck.
- 4:25Speaker 4: Oh, come on.
- 4:25Speaker 8: We all need to see Daisy Duke, actually. So, yeah,
- 4:29Speaker 8: I was just like, just the fact that that goes
- 4:31Speaker 8: on is kind of amazing.
- 4:33Speaker 2: It's going to be rowdy.
- 4:35Speaker 8: And I needed to see it. It's like, regardless of
- 4:38Speaker 8: your feelings at home about Dukes of Hazzard, Misty loves it.
- 4:41Speaker 3: Fucking A, I love Dukes of Hazzard. I got fucking
- 4:44Speaker 3: John Schneider's face. Bo Duke is on my goddamn leg.
- 4:48Speaker 8: He's hanging out with Corey. Permanently.
- 4:52Speaker 3: Corey has friends.
- 4:53Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:54Speaker 8: So, yeah, I'm just like, regardless of your feeling, you
- 4:57Speaker 8: have to admit this is going to be an amazing adventure.
- 5:00Speaker 3: Do we need to keep like a running tally of
- 5:01Speaker 3: how many times we hear yee-haw and or the General
- 5:05Speaker 3: Lee horn?
- 5:06Speaker 8: If you'd like to.
- 5:08Speaker 3: Because you know we're going to hear... You know, at
- 5:11Speaker 3: least once.
- 5:11Speaker 8: If you'd like to keep like a stick count as
- 5:13Speaker 8: we're there, maybe we can check back in later.
- 5:16Speaker 3: Or good old boys. Have you ever heard good old
- 5:18Speaker 3: boys referenced?
- 5:20Speaker 8: Oh, so many yeehaws. It's frightening.
- 5:23Speaker 3: I fucking hope so. I'll be disappointed if there's going
- 5:25Speaker 3: to be yeehaws because I'm going to be fucking doing it, dude.
- 5:28Speaker 3: Yee fucking haw.
- 5:29Speaker 8: Right there.
- 5:29Speaker 3: Oh, Lord.
- 5:31Speaker 8: Well, if nothing else... I think... Cooters.
- 5:33Speaker 3: We're going to Cooters, for God's sakes.
- 5:36Speaker 8: Cooters.
- 5:38Speaker 3: Do you have any comment on that, boyfriend? You're sitting
- 5:40Speaker 3: there shaking your head.
- 5:41Speaker 2: No, I don't.
- 5:43Speaker 8: I would say, if nothing else, it's going to be
- 5:45Speaker 8: a good time. That's kicked off our music for this episode.
- 5:49Speaker 3: Yeehaw.
- 5:50Speaker 2: Everybody shake.
- 5:52Speaker 10: Everybody groove.
- 5:56Speaker 8: Everybody shake.
- 5:59Speaker 6: Everybody groove.
- 6:07Speaker 10: Mary, Mary, you're on my mind The folks are gone
- 6:14Speaker 10: and the place will be mine Mary, Mary, I wanna
- 6:21Speaker 10: be with you And this is what I'm gonna do
- 6:27Speaker 10: I'm gonna put a call to you Cause I feel
- 6:30Speaker 10: good tonight And everything's gonna be right.
- 6:36Speaker 9: Right, right, yeah I'm gonna have a good.
- 6:38Speaker 6: Time tonight Rock and roll music gonna play all night.

- 6:51Speaker 3: Gonna be with him I said loud.
- 6:56Speaker 2: Tall Sally's gonna be with Slim A sharp fat fan
- 7:03Speaker 2: is gonna.
- 7:04Speaker 6: She's gonna be there too.
- 7:08Speaker 9: And this is what I'm gonna do Well, I've got
- 7:10Speaker 9: to put.
- 7:11Speaker 6: A call to you Cause I feel good tonight And.

- 7:21Speaker 9: good time tonight Rock and roll music gonna play all

- 7:32Speaker 6: Tonight I've got to talk to you.
- 7:41Speaker 10: Born and grown, it's gonna be wet, Jimmy.
- 7:57Speaker 9: Lady love, your cell is gonna be real, yeah.

- 8:47Speaker 3: Sing my song. We're gonna have a.
- 8:48Speaker 6: Good time tonight. Rock and roll music gonna play all night.
- 8:54Speaker 6: Come on, baby, it won't take long.
- 8:56Speaker 9: Only take a minute just to sing my song.
- 9:02Speaker 6: We're gonna have a good time tonight.
- 9:06Speaker 4: Rock and roll music.
- 9:09Speaker 6: Gonna play all night.
- 9:25Speaker 8: I thought, Misty, you would appreciate that. Both of you,
- 9:28Speaker 8: I think you're both into this movie. That was Good
- 9:31Speaker 8: Times from In Excess and Jimmy Barnes from the Lost
- 9:35Speaker 8: Boys soundtrack.
- 9:37Speaker 3: Dude, I ain't cut none of my Lost Boys songs.
- 9:39Speaker 3: That's all fucking rowdy.
- 9:41Speaker 8: So, yeah, I thought that was a nice fitting way
- 9:43Speaker 8: to kick off this little road trip adventure.
- 9:46Speaker 3: I love In Excess.
- 9:48Speaker 8: I'm telling you, it's one of those that's... And it
- 9:52Speaker 8: was funny because I was already familiar with them. I
- 9:54Speaker 8: feel like I at least, for somebody in this country,
- 9:56Speaker 8: was tapped into them a little earlier than the rest of...
- 9:59Speaker 8: yeah you you.
- 10:00Speaker 2: Too same here yeah i don't know uh god i
- 10:05Speaker 2: don't even know how i came across in excess it
- 10:09Speaker 2: was probably from one of my friends but yeah i
- 10:12Speaker 2: knew about him way before any of my friends or
- 10:15Speaker 2: anybody that I actually knew in school did.
- 10:18Speaker 8: Yeah, I mean, they didn't really hit until Kick.
- 10:20Speaker 2: No.
- 10:21Speaker 8: And I already had... I mean, I'd been listening to
- 10:24Speaker 8: the Listen Like Thieves CD.
- 10:26Speaker 11: No, wait.
- 10:27Speaker 8: The Listen Like Thieves cassette tape.
- 10:29Speaker 2: Cassette tape, yeah.
- 10:30Speaker 3: I had that shit on vinyl.
- 10:32Speaker 6: I had.
- 10:32Speaker 8: Well... you retroactively did, but I was listening to it
- 10:35Speaker 8: on cassette tape back in the day. And like it, it's,
- 10:39Speaker 8: I love that album. Like it was an awesome album.
- 10:41Speaker 8: And that was when they were just some weird, you know,
- 10:43Speaker 8: Australian band that nobody knew anything about. And I think,
- 10:46Speaker 8: I mean, they, again, they, it's funny that in this country,
- 10:49Speaker 8: that's still where they were sort of just crossing over,
- 10:51Speaker 8: but they'd already put out like five or six albums
- 10:54Speaker 8: in Australia. Like they were a well-established Australian band when
- 10:57Speaker 8: that just sort of crept over here.
- 10:59Speaker 2: And I mean, I still like a lot of their
- 11:01Speaker 2: stuff before kick.
- 11:02Speaker 1: Yeah, I do too.
- 11:03Speaker 2: I went back and bought all of it. I think
- 11:04Speaker 2: that's some of the best stuff.
- 11:05Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 11:05Speaker 2: You know?
- 11:06Speaker 8: There's stuff, yeah. A lot of that stuff on a
- 11:10Speaker 8: couple albums before that. I had that very first album.
- 11:13Speaker 8: When you can tell, it's an early band. It's a
- 11:16Speaker 8: different version of NXS than we came to know. But
- 11:19Speaker 8: even the stuff on that one's really great. They were
- 11:22Speaker 8: always a good band. And just continued to get more
- 11:24Speaker 8: polished and more amazing as they went on.
- 11:26Speaker 3: I think you'd be hard-pressed to find a frontman more
- 11:29Speaker 3: charismatic and just amazing than Michael Hutchins. He's just watching him.
- 11:34Speaker 3: He's perfect. As far as what you think of as
- 11:38Speaker 3: a quintessential rock star lead singer, he's fucking amazing. And
- 11:44Speaker 3: he was fucking sexy as hell. I ain't gonna lie.
- 11:47Speaker 8: You know... I'm not going to argue with you on that.
- 11:49Speaker 2: No, because I wanted to be him in high school.
- 11:51Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 11:52Speaker 2: And unfortunately, I ended up looking more like the saxophone player.
- 11:58Speaker 3: But even Michael Hutchins, in the early days, he was
- 12:00Speaker 3: so awkward and gawky. I watched some of the earlier videos.
- 12:04Speaker 3: It wasn't until probably almost listening to Thieves.
- 12:08Speaker 8: That's when the hair finally got his look. He sort
- 12:13Speaker 8: of came into his own.
- 12:14Speaker 2: But that's like most people. I mean, when you're younger,
- 12:16Speaker 2: you're in that kind of gawky stage. Some people a
- 12:20Speaker 2: little bit longer than others. I know I was gawky
- 12:23Speaker 2: all the way up into my mid-twenties.
- 12:24Speaker 8: I'm still working to get out of mine.
- 12:25Speaker 3: He definitely outgrew his, though. Especially by kick.
- 12:29Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 12:30Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 12:30Speaker 8: I mean, that's the thing.
- 12:31Speaker 2: Like, he.
- 12:33Speaker 8: And that's what it was. It wasn't just the look. Like, yeah, he,
- 12:36Speaker 8: by that point, was pretty damn pretty.
- 12:38Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 12:39Speaker 8: But he also... It was. It was just charisma. Like,
- 12:41Speaker 8: he was just a hell of a front man. And, like,
- 12:44Speaker 8: when he was on... And that's one of those I
- 12:46Speaker 8: have to say I'm pretty... thrilled that I actually got
- 12:48Speaker 8: to see them live. It was a stadium. I was
- 12:51Speaker 8: way the hell back there.
- 12:53Speaker 3: When you die, can I have your NXS shirt?
- 12:56Speaker 12: No.
- 12:56Speaker 8: Oh, you fucker. Maybe I'll get buried in it.
- 12:58Speaker 3: Oh, you suck.
- 13:00Speaker 2: We can dig him up. He'll be dead.
- 13:01Speaker 8: I'll put an alarm system on.
- 13:04Speaker 2: It's not going to stop. It will explode if you
- 13:06Speaker 2: break it. She doesn't care.
- 13:08Speaker 3: I hire a lackey to do it that way. They
- 13:11Speaker 3: take all the mess and I clean it up.
- 13:13Speaker 8: No, no, I'm taking it out with me, though. It
- 13:15Speaker 8: will blow everything.
- 13:17Speaker 3: Dude, you suck.
- 13:19Speaker 8: Anyway, though, I mean, that was one of the best
- 13:21Speaker 8: live shows ever. Like, it was amazing. And that was
- 13:23Speaker 8: the point they were pretty, they had a hell of
- 13:25Speaker 8: a lot of money thrown at them. So there was
- 13:27Speaker 8: this light show that, I mean, just like, not even
- 13:29Speaker 8: like cheesy lasers and stuff, just like the spotlight show
- 13:32Speaker 8: was like, so perfectly timed in with the music like
- 13:35Speaker 8: it was just a well put together production at that
- 13:38Speaker 8: point so yeah they they were amazing live they were
- 13:41Speaker 8: amazing even back when they first started it's yeah an
- 13:45Speaker 8: underrated band as far as i'm concerned especially for one
- 13:47Speaker 8: that got so mainstream but still like never got the
- 13:50Speaker 8: recognition they probably deserved.
- 13:52Speaker 3: Are they still touring with their shitty replacement.
- 13:55Speaker 8: Don't know did they stick with that guy from the
- 13:57Speaker 8: dumb tv show i have.
- 13:58Speaker 3: No idea i watched the show just because i was
- 14:00Speaker 3: like this is a train wreck i gotta see what happens.
- 14:02Speaker 8: It really it's it's kind of sad like it's just
- 14:05Speaker 8: sort of like.
- 14:07Speaker 3: Nobody you can't replace michael.
- 14:09Speaker 8: Hutchins and that's the thing like you can't do it
- 14:11Speaker 8: anyway but it's even worse when like his friends did
- 14:14Speaker 8: it you know it's like it'd be different if like
- 14:15Speaker 8: a bunch of strangers decided they were going to do
- 14:17Speaker 8: this show but like It was guys that grew up
- 14:20Speaker 8: with him. Like, they'd all been together for years. Some
- 14:22Speaker 8: of those guys were brothers. Like, they'd all literally grown
- 14:25Speaker 8: up around each other. So, for them to just go, eh,
- 14:28Speaker 8: never mind. Let's pick somebody new.
- 14:30Speaker 2: Did they just go, hey, let's pick somebody new? Or
- 14:33Speaker 2: were they forced by studio execs?
- 14:35Speaker 8: Either way. I mean, at that point, I would have
- 14:37Speaker 8: thrown out the band. I'd be like, you know what?
- 14:39Speaker 8: Let's just start another band. We can hang out if
- 14:41Speaker 8: we want to, but... Don't use the name. Don't sully
- 14:44Speaker 8: the fine name of InXS with anybody else.
- 14:47Speaker 3: It's so hard when it's the lead singer. It's one
- 14:49Speaker 3: thing if you're replacing the fucking keyboard player, the guitar player.
- 14:55Speaker 3: Even the guitar player, it depends.
- 14:57Speaker 8: I mean, it's true. It's no offense to anyone else
- 14:59Speaker 8: in any band out there, but that's the most distinctive
- 15:04Speaker 8: thing about your band is if you have vocals, your
- 15:07Speaker 8: lead singer creates the sound probably more than anybody else.
- 15:11Speaker 3: Aside from ACDC, I've not seen any bands that have
- 15:14Speaker 3: successfully switched lead singers and had, if not, probably a
- 15:19Speaker 3: more successful career.
- 15:20Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah.
- 15:21Speaker 3: Well, yeah, Journey doesn't really count because they weren't as
- 15:23Speaker 3: big before Steve Perry, I don't think.
- 15:25Speaker 8: And they took a huge, like, lapse there. I mean,
- 15:27Speaker 8: they disappeared for 10 or 15 years.
- 15:29Speaker 2: There's been other bands, hasn't there?
- 15:31Speaker 8: There's been a lot, but not many that have kept
- 15:34Speaker 8: that same level. Like, ACDC is one of the few
- 15:36Speaker 8: that sort of continued on. Yeah, I can't think of
- 15:38Speaker 8: anybody else right now. Because, yeah, even your, like... What
- 15:41Speaker 8: was the, Judas Priest did it, didn't they? And, like,
- 15:44Speaker 8: what was the other, another big metal band did it?
- 15:46Speaker 3: But they were probably early in their career when it happened.
- 15:48Speaker 3: NXS had been around for how many, you know, they'd
- 15:50Speaker 3: been around for a couple decades.
- 15:53Speaker 2: That was the end, like, almost the end of their career.
- 15:55Speaker 2: I wouldn't say end of their career, but.
- 15:58Speaker 3: The last album they did was pretty good.
- 16:01Speaker 2: But, you know what I mean.
- 16:03Speaker 3: Weren't at the height of their career. They'd already passed
- 16:05Speaker 3: their height. A lot of bands that can replace a
- 16:08Speaker 3: lead singer, it happens early, early. Maybe one or two
- 16:12Speaker 3: albums in. NXS had how many albums with Michael Hutchins?
- 16:17Speaker 2: Twelve?
- 16:17Speaker 8: I don't know. It was a lot.
- 16:19Speaker 2: They weren't at the Chili Peppers stage of their career.
- 16:22Speaker 2: They were a few albums before that.
- 16:25Speaker 8: I guess we've gone into NXS quite a bit. So
- 16:28Speaker 8: we can move on.
- 16:28Speaker 4: Music And now it's time for some Blaxploitation Appreciation. You're
- 16:41Speaker 4: damn right.
- 16:46Speaker 8: So the other running theme, I don't know how familiar
- 16:49Speaker 8: you guys are, but I've been trying to work in
- 16:52Speaker 8: some awesome, awesome music from Blaxploitation. So this one was
- 16:57Speaker 8: just one I came across, and it's from 1973's Gordon's War.
- 17:03Speaker 8: The music, most of it on the album, is credited
- 17:06Speaker 8: to Badder Than Evil. And this song is Super Shine No. 9,
- 17:12Speaker 8: with vocals by Sister Goose and the Ducklings. You've got
- 17:16Speaker 8: to love Blaxploitation.
- 17:17Speaker 4: I'm sorry, it's amazing.
- 17:25Speaker 14: Da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da.
- 17:29Speaker 6: Super shy. Number nine. Super shy. Number nine. Both side up.
- 17:38Speaker 6: Like a dog goes side. Super, super, super shy.
- 17:45Speaker 15: Number nine.
- 17:47Speaker 6: Number nine. To your feet. Number one. On the street.
- 18:03Speaker 4: Make you look so sharp and fine.
- 18:06Speaker 6: Super, super, super shine. Number nine. Number nine. You'll be
- 18:26Speaker 6: big daddy cool No girl's gonna tell you no, no,
- 18:36Speaker 6: no Daddy, you'll short.
- 18:38Speaker 2: Circuit her ever-loving mind.
- 18:58Speaker 6: Number nine. Every drop on time. Super, super, super shine.
- 19:38Speaker 16: Number nine.
- 19:39Speaker 6: Number nine.
- 19:52Speaker 1: If you leave the theater, folks, please be careful. Don't
- 19:56Speaker 1: let this happen to your car. Be sure to remove
- 20:01Speaker 1: the speaker before you leave. If you should accidentally pull
- 20:04Speaker 1: the speaker loose, please turn it in at our snack
- 20:07Speaker 1: bar or box office.
- 20:10Speaker 5: It's war, baby. The battlefield is Harlem. The enemy is junk.
- 20:23Speaker 5: The general is a cat named Gordon.
- 20:27Speaker 14: Me!
- 20:28Speaker 17: I give the orders.
- 20:29Speaker 5: He spent four years in the NAMM fighting someone else's battle.
- 20:34Speaker 5: Now he's back to fight his own. and a foolproof plan.
- 20:45Speaker 14: As you can see, we're well prepared.
- 20:47Speaker 5: Step one, infiltrate enemy territory.
- 20:51Speaker 1: Are you Big Pink?
- 20:52Speaker 14: What do you want?
- 20:56Speaker 5: Step two, cut the supply line.
- 20:59Speaker 1: Gentlemen, we have a problem. Our largest New York franchise
- 21:03Speaker 1: is having distribution difficulties.
- 21:07Speaker 5: Step three, harass the hostiles. Step four, search and destroy.
- 21:19Speaker 3: I bet he got his head right here.
- 21:21Speaker 5: I'm through playing with.
- 21:23Speaker 6: You, Luca. Watch your teeth.
- 21:25Speaker 5: Step five, knock out the heavy artillery. They said it
- 21:34Speaker 5: would take an army to get dope out of Harlem.
- 21:38Speaker 5: This is an army. And this is Gordon's War.
- 21:45Speaker 8: It's just, I love that's the thing. Like, even movies
- 21:48Speaker 8: that you weren't familiar with, sometimes they have this amazing soundtrack. Like,
- 21:52Speaker 8: they put so much, you know, great talent and time
- 21:55Speaker 8: and effort and money to record these amazing albums that, like,
- 21:58Speaker 8: you know, the movie itself didn't do well and it
- 22:00Speaker 8: just sort of falls by the wayside. But, like, there's
- 22:02Speaker 8: still this, like, a huge amount of albums out there
- 22:05Speaker 8: that are just filled with great songs.
- 22:07Speaker 3: Nothing else. They have fantastic titles for their bands, you know.
- 22:11Speaker 8: Badder than evil.
- 22:12Speaker 3: The names of their songs and their... It's entertaining, if
- 22:15Speaker 3: nothing else.
- 22:16Speaker 12: Don't jive me.
- 22:17Speaker 8: So, as previously stated, on this show I wanted to
- 22:21Speaker 8: bring in, you know, different people as we go along.
- 22:23Speaker 8: So it's not just me picking the same stuff I
- 22:25Speaker 8: like over and over. Not that I won't do that
- 22:27Speaker 8: for as long as I feel like it, basically. But
- 22:30Speaker 8: I do want to mix it up, and I do
- 22:31Speaker 8: want to get other people's input, and other people have,
- 22:34Speaker 8: you know, different tastes and different takes on stuff. So
- 22:38Speaker 8: we're definitely going to hit, you know, pretty much everybody
- 22:40Speaker 8: in our own crew, and then we'll try to bring
- 22:42Speaker 8: in special guests as we go along.
- 22:44Speaker 3: Special guests.
- 22:45Speaker 8: Not your kind of special, but we'll get to you
- 22:46Speaker 8: next time.
- 22:47Speaker 3: No Velcro shoes? I did not wear my Velcro shoes today.
- 22:50Speaker 3: I left those at home. Thank you. You're welcome.
- 22:53Speaker 8: Anyway, so yeah, I thought this time we'd go ahead
- 22:57Speaker 8: and while we're jammed in the car here, we'd go
- 22:59Speaker 8: ahead and work in some of yours. So since we
- 23:02Speaker 8: just had a Misty Heavy episode recently, and if not,
- 23:05Speaker 8: go back and listen to it.
- 23:06Speaker 3: You call me fat. Misty's heavy. You call me fat.
- 23:12Speaker 3: Go ahead. Please continue. Thank you. Carry on.
- 23:18Speaker 8: If you missed it, yeah, go back a few episodes.
- 23:20Speaker 8: It's Laced with Profanity. You'll recognize it. It's got Misty
- 23:23Speaker 8: all over it. So I thought we would start with Jay,
- 23:26Speaker 8: and then next time around when we do the next
- 23:28Speaker 8: music version of this show, we will get to yours, Misty.
- 23:42Speaker 4: It's time for the Killer Five.
- 23:51Speaker 8: Jay, I think you described yours as trying to put
- 23:54Speaker 8: together your five-song mixtape of 80s teenage heartbreak.
- 23:58Speaker 2: Yeah. I guess for people that know me, my birthday's
- 24:03Speaker 2: coming up pretty soon, and I'm getting older.
- 24:05Speaker 3: You're gonna be old.
- 24:06Speaker 2: Yeah. Shut up. It happens. But, yeah, you know, I'm
- 24:11Speaker 2: one of these people that have a tendency to, I guess,
- 24:14Speaker 2: live in the past a lot, and... I usually revisit
- 24:18Speaker 2: the 80s maybe every Friday or Saturday night.
- 24:23Speaker 8: Yeah, and I.
- 24:24Speaker 3: Have to hear it.
- 24:26Speaker 8: Flashback.
- 24:27Speaker 3: There's a lot of Cure involved, and I am not
- 24:28Speaker 3: happy with that.
- 24:29Speaker 2: There's not that much Cure.
- 24:31Speaker 8: There's some great Cure songs.
- 24:32Speaker 3: Any Cure is too much Cure.
- 24:34Speaker 8: There's a few that I'm not a fan of.
- 24:35Speaker 1: No.
- 24:36Speaker 8: But there's some great Cure songs.
- 24:38Speaker 2: Yeah, there's great Cure songs, but it's no Friday, I'm
- 24:41Speaker 2: in love shit.
- 24:41Speaker 8: Yeah, I'm not big on that one.
- 24:43Speaker 2: No.
- 24:43Speaker 6: Okay.
- 24:44Speaker 2: She just doesn't like any Cure songs.
- 24:46Speaker 8: Boys Don't Cry is awesome, man.
- 24:48Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 24:48Speaker 8: That guitar riff is badass.
- 24:50Speaker 3: Anyway.
- 24:50Speaker 2: Yeah, anyways.
- 24:51Speaker 8: Okay, so do you want me to list off what
- 24:54Speaker 8: you gave to me?
- 24:55Speaker 2: Yeah, you're going to have to because I'm driving right now,
- 24:57Speaker 2: and if I look back, I may end up in
- 24:59Speaker 2: a wreck.
- 25:00Speaker 8: Did you want to go in a specific order, one
- 25:03Speaker 8: through five?
- 25:03Speaker 2: Yeah, I specifically put them in order. Okay.
- 25:07Speaker 3: You put way more thought into his than I did
- 25:09Speaker 3: into mine.
- 25:10Speaker 2: Yeah, it's almost like a mixtape. I was thinking of.
- 25:15Speaker 2: Research involved and it wasn't research it was just yeah
- 25:19Speaker 2: I was like man if I was stuck in a
- 25:22Speaker 2: movie and if there was a soundtrack made of my
- 25:26Speaker 2: miserable high school existence in the 80s what songs would
- 25:30Speaker 2: I pick in what order and what is most fitting
- 25:33Speaker 2: of yeah what is most fitting of all the things
- 25:35Speaker 2: that uh I pretty much you know went through and
- 25:39Speaker 2: you know I I guess in high school, I wasn't
- 25:42Speaker 2: a nerd. I was actually kind of shunned by the nerds,
- 25:45Speaker 2: but then I was even shunned by the jocks and
- 25:48Speaker 2: the geeks. Actually, I was just pretty much by myself.
- 25:51Speaker 2: I was the really weird, I was the beyond weird kid.
- 25:54Speaker 8: I'm kind of right there with you, so I won't
- 25:56Speaker 8: call you out. But yeah, I don't think I fit
- 25:58Speaker 8: any little classic 80s movie niche.
- 26:02Speaker 2: No, like the closest I've come to is a lot
- 26:05Speaker 2: of my friends... A lot of my girlfriends, and I
- 26:09Speaker 2: mean that as girl friends, because I was in the
- 26:13Speaker 2: friend zone a lot.
- 26:14Speaker 3: Were you ducky?
- 26:15Speaker 2: I was ducky. A lot of people always referred to
- 26:19Speaker 2: me as ducky.
- 26:20Speaker 4: Not ducky.
- 26:22Speaker 3: I love ducky.
- 26:23Speaker 8: What's wrong with ducky?
- 26:24Speaker 3: I would have picked ducky.
- 26:26Speaker 2: See, everybody says they would have picked ducky, but you
- 26:29Speaker 2: know what? They don't.
- 26:30Speaker 3: I did. Fuck. I picked you.
- 26:33Speaker 8: Depends on which ducky you're talking about.
- 26:35Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah. Okay.
- 26:35Speaker 3: Okay.
- 26:37Speaker 8: The real world Ducky you probably wouldn't have.
- 26:39Speaker 2: No, no, the real world Ducky you wouldn't have.
- 26:41Speaker 8: Because he was based on a real person. And those
- 26:45Speaker 8: allegations that have been made about Ducky's character over the years,
- 26:48Speaker 8: turns out they're kind of true if you base it
- 26:50Speaker 8: on the real person.
- 26:51Speaker 2: No, I don't know who it was based on.
- 26:53Speaker 8: Well, it was Molly Ringwald's friend that she grew up with.
- 26:57Speaker 8: I mean, he wrote the screenplay, but she had a
- 26:59Speaker 8: lot of input on adding the Ducky character.
- 27:01Speaker 2: Yeah, now I remember.
- 27:02Speaker 8: Giving the Ducky character his style.
- 27:06Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 27:06Speaker 8: And people always went, whatever, Ducky's gay. And she was like, well,
- 27:10Speaker 8: I hate to break it to you guys, but my
- 27:11Speaker 8: best friend growing up was gay. So the real world
- 27:14Speaker 8: Ducky character she based it on actually was gay. In
- 27:17Speaker 8: the movie, he's just a weirdo.
- 27:19Speaker 2: Well, I was just a weirdo. I mean, I'm not gay.
- 27:21Speaker 3: Not that there's anything wrong with that. Well, no.
- 27:25Speaker 2: No, I mean, girlfriend always says I have gay tendencies.
- 27:28Speaker 3: You do like more chick movies than me.
- 27:30Speaker 8: You know what?
- 27:31Speaker 2: I just go everywhere. I am so crazy. I don't care.
- 27:34Speaker 2: I love everything.
- 27:36Speaker 8: I have no boundaries when it comes to movies and
- 27:38Speaker 8: usually music. Certain other things, there are a few boundaries.
- 27:43Speaker 2: No, you know, whatever.
- 27:45Speaker 8: All right, so... Do we want to start with number
- 27:47Speaker 8: one here?
- 27:47Speaker 2: Yeah, we want to start with number one.
- 27:49Speaker 8: Okay, number one.
- 27:50Speaker 3: We haven't written a list for a reason.
- 27:51Speaker 2: Hell yeah. This wasn't Jay's random order of 80s heartbreak songs.
- 27:56Speaker 2: This is Jay's specific order.
- 27:58Speaker 8: The specific mixtape to get it to build and swell
- 28:01Speaker 8: so that by the end of it, you really totally
- 28:03Speaker 8: get your James.
- 28:04Speaker 2: All the rejection. All the anger. Well, not so much
- 28:08Speaker 2: anger at that time. Just mostly.
- 28:10Speaker 4: Angstiness.
- 28:11Speaker 2: Yeah, not even angstiness. Emoness.
- 28:14Speaker 8: Emoness, yes.
- 28:14Speaker 2: Emoness of the 80s. The sitting on the newspaper, been
- 28:18Speaker 2: in the rain up against the wall kind of thing.
- 28:20Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 28:21Speaker 8: I get that. I still do that sometimes.
- 28:23Speaker 2: I was putting it together going, God, I was so pathetic.
- 28:25Speaker 3: This is going to be really depressing, isn't it?
- 28:27Speaker 8: Yeah, kind of.
- 28:29Speaker 2: No, actually not. Because, you know, now that I look
- 28:32Speaker 2: back on it, I actually enjoy a lot of the songs.
- 28:34Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 28:35Speaker 2: You know? And I don't get depressed about it.
- 28:37Speaker 3: Sometimes.
- 28:39Speaker 2: I get more depressed about being old, but I, you know,
- 28:43Speaker 2: they're great. They're great songs. So definitely go with that.
- 28:47Speaker 8: Number one is teenage kicks by the undertones. Now that's
- 28:51Speaker 8: not depressing.
- 28:51Speaker 2: That one wasn't depressing, but that one's more of the, Hey,
- 28:54Speaker 2: you know, Hey, I'm kind of the, the new kid
- 28:57Speaker 2: coming to school kind of thing. It's the opening, the
- 29:01Speaker 2: opening of my, it.
- 29:03Speaker 8: Gets us into your wonderful teenage years.
- 29:05Speaker 3: Story arc. Yeah.
- 29:06Speaker 2: It's my story arc.
- 29:26Speaker 18: Every time she walks down the street Another girl in
- 29:31Speaker 18: the neighborhood.
- 29:33Speaker 3: Wishes mine, she looks so good.
- 29:36Speaker 6: I want to hold her, want to.
- 29:38Speaker 18: Hold her tight.
- 29:40Speaker 6: The teenage kicks right through the night.
- 29:54Speaker 18: And it's the best I've ever had. I want to
- 29:59Speaker 18: hold her, want to hold her tight.
- 30:01Speaker 16: Get teenage kicks right through the night.
- 30:04Speaker 6: I have teenage dreams so hard to beat.
- 30:23Speaker 18: Every time she walks down the street, another girl in
- 30:28Speaker 18: the neighborhood. Wish she was mine, she.
- 30:32Speaker 6: Looks so good.
- 30:34Speaker 16: I wanna hold her, wanna hold her tight.
- 30:36Speaker 18: That teenage kicks right through the night.
- 30:41Speaker 19: I'm gonna call her on the telephone.
- 30:44Speaker 13: Have her over cause I'm all alone.
- 30:48Speaker 18: I need excitement, oh I need it bad And it's
- 30:52Speaker 18: the best I've ever had I wanna hold her, wanna
- 30:56Speaker 18: hold her tight That teenage kicks right through the night.
- 31:26Speaker 8: From Starter for Ten?
- 31:30Speaker 2: Yeah. Yes.
- 31:31Speaker 3: I fucking love that movie because it has Benedict Cumberbatch.
- 31:33Speaker 2: That's an excellent movie.
- 31:35Speaker 3: The best part of that movie was Benedict Cumberbatch and
- 31:37Speaker 3: his acid-washed jeans. He was so sexy in them acid-washed jeans.
- 31:43Speaker 2: No comment. It was a good movie. Great soundtrack. If
- 31:47Speaker 2: you haven't watched it, check it out.
- 31:48Speaker 8: Very cool.
- 31:49Speaker 3: It's set in the 80s. There was so much fucking
- 31:53Speaker 3: Cure in this movie. I swear to God. Wasn't there
- 31:55Speaker 3: like four Cure songs?
- 31:57Speaker 8: Let's hope.
- 31:59Speaker 3: I'm like, are you fucking serious? Is there anything other
- 32:02Speaker 3: than Cure in this song? Did Cure fucking sponsor this movie?
- 32:06Speaker 2: I don't know. I think maybe the guy who made
- 32:07Speaker 2: the movie really liked Cure.
- 32:09Speaker 8: That happens.
- 32:11Speaker 3: Cure aside, it was a really good movie. It was quirky. Okay.
- 32:17Speaker 8: Um, I don't know if I know this one by title,
- 32:20Speaker 8: so you say the title of the New Order song.
- 32:23Speaker 2: I gotta look at it because I can't remember. E-L-E-G-I-A?
- 32:27Speaker 8: What's the proper pronunciation?
- 32:28Speaker 2: You know what? I don't even know how to properly pronounce,
- 32:30Speaker 2: pronunciate it. Because you're asking me.
- 32:33Speaker 4: Elegia?
- 32:34Speaker 2: Yeah, you know. Eats the fuck out of me. Yeah,
- 32:39Speaker 2: I don't know. I always just call it Elgia, but.
- 32:42Speaker 2: i'm kind of a moron so i don't normally that's
- 32:46Speaker 2: the thing i've never you live in the middle of
- 32:48Speaker 2: nowhere or not so much nowhere but you you you
- 32:52Speaker 2: grow up in a not great how do i put
- 32:55Speaker 2: it you grow up in an area that's not very
- 32:57Speaker 2: cool and you're not surrounded by record shops and and
- 32:59Speaker 2: and cool artistic people you're mostly surrounded with rednecks and
- 33:03Speaker 2: jocks and so you don't really get uh learn the
- 33:08Speaker 2: proper pronunciations of a lot of songs and shit like that.
- 33:11Speaker 8: That was also like way pre-internet. So it's like you
- 33:14Speaker 8: didn't have any connection to the outside world to tell
- 33:17Speaker 8: you how to pronounce this stuff.
- 33:18Speaker 2: You had to wait until you bumped into somebody from
- 33:21Speaker 2: the city, you know.
- 33:22Speaker 8: And then they would laugh at you and tell you
- 33:24Speaker 8: you're doing it wrong.
- 33:24Speaker 2: Yeah, what's wrong with you, idiot? That's not how it's pronounced. So, yeah,
- 33:28Speaker 2: I'm sorry. I probably mangled the name of it, so.
- 33:31Speaker 8: I mean, usually you just kind of read the tracks.
- 33:34Speaker 8: You don't hear it. So regardless, this is by New Order.
- 33:37Speaker 14: New Order.
- 33:38Speaker 2: New Order's a great band.
- 34:21Speaker 6: Thank you. so so.
- 37:20Speaker 8: And that was there. There's the pretty and pink tie
- 37:22Speaker 8: in there. So yeah, lots of that used in pretty
- 37:25Speaker 8: and pink.
- 37:26Speaker 2: Lots of it.
- 37:27Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 37:28Speaker 8: I had, I was the one that was not on
- 37:30Speaker 8: board with pretty and pink. I had so many issues
- 37:32Speaker 8: with it. And I think you're on the other, you're
- 37:34Speaker 8: in the other camp. You were team Molly ring wall. Um,
- 37:38Speaker 8: I was just not, like, I just not, I did
- 37:40Speaker 8: not really get into her. It's, I don't want to
- 37:43Speaker 8: say I was, you.
- 37:44Speaker 2: Know, I mean, I liked her, but then I liked,
- 37:47Speaker 2: I liked, basically, I liked any girl that would look
- 37:50Speaker 2: at me. But then again, it would be always the, oh,
- 37:53Speaker 2: you're so nice, you know, kind of thing. But no,
- 37:58Speaker 2: I mean, I liked the movie more or less because
- 37:59Speaker 2: I could identify with John Cryer's character, aside from the
- 38:05Speaker 2: soundtrack being good, but.
- 38:06Speaker 8: You know, it's another one of those like when they
- 38:09Speaker 8: it's always frustrating when they have those movies of like, oh,
- 38:11Speaker 8: there's two guys and they're fighting over the girl and
- 38:13Speaker 8: she's got to choose. And usually I'm like, neither of
- 38:16Speaker 8: these is the right guy. And that's what that was like.
- 38:18Speaker 11: Really?
- 38:19Speaker 8: I'm like, Andrew McCarthy's a dick.
- 38:20Speaker 15: Yeah.
- 38:21Speaker 8: John Cryer's annoying.
- 38:22Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 38:23Speaker 8: Well, he's in love with you, but in a weird
- 38:25Speaker 8: way that probably would never work in a relationship.
- 38:28Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 38:28Speaker 2: It's like psycho stalker, obsessive.
- 38:31Speaker 8: Yeah, none of it's a good thing. There's no good
- 38:34Speaker 8: outcome to that. Annoying.
- 38:35Speaker 2: Pretty much everything I am.
- 38:36Speaker 3: You can be pretty damn annoying. But you do have
- 38:40Speaker 3: a fantastic ass.
- 38:42Speaker 8: Unlike John Cryer.
- 38:43Speaker 3: I've never looked at John Cryer's ass before.
- 38:44Speaker 8: I really don't want to, actually.
- 38:46Speaker 2: How did this descend into John Cryer-assed him?
- 38:51Speaker 8: I'm leaving that alone. All right. So moving on. The
- 38:56Speaker 8: next one up here is Love Will Tear Us Apart
- 38:59Speaker 8: by Joy Division.
- 39:00Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 39:01Speaker 2: Joy Visions are awesome.
- 39:28Speaker 15: We're rooted by its heart And.
- 39:31Speaker 6: Our mission's our own.
- 39:35Speaker 20: And resentment rides a mile, but emotions won't grow.
- 39:40Speaker 11: And we're changing our ways, taking different roads.
- 39:48Speaker 6: And love, love is there in the power again.
- 39:55Speaker 15: Love, love is there in the power again. Why is
- 40:07Speaker 15: the bedroom so cold?
- 40:10Speaker 11: Turned away on your side Is my time in that floor?
- 40:17Speaker 9: My respect looks so dry Yet there still is a meal.
- 40:23Speaker 20: That we've kept through our lives Love, love will tear
- 40:30Speaker 20: us apart again Love, love will tear us apart again Again.
- 41:07Speaker 11: I cry out in your sleep, all my feelings exposed
- 41:12Speaker 11: Yet a taste in my mouth, this desperation takes hold
- 41:19Speaker 11: You said something so good, just.
- 41:22Speaker 20: Can't touch you no more But one laugh.
- 41:29Speaker 3: Will tear us apart.
- 41:31Speaker 15: Again Love, love will tear us apart again Love, love
- 41:40Speaker 15: will tear us apart again Love, love will tear us
- 41:49Speaker 15: apart again.
- 42:33Speaker 2: I don't know what to say about the song other
- 42:35Speaker 2: than it's awesome.
- 42:38Speaker 8: And good use of it, Donnie Darko.
- 42:42Speaker 2: Donnie Darko.
- 42:43Speaker 8: Which, I mean, another one of those soundtracks that they
- 42:46Speaker 8: found the perfect stuff to work in and sometimes even
- 42:50Speaker 8: changed it and re-recorded it, but they were still picking
- 42:53Speaker 8: stuff from a period.
- 42:55Speaker 2: I really need to go back and watch Donnie Darko again.
- 42:58Speaker 3: The director's cut or the original theatrical release? Original.
- 43:01Speaker 5: Original.
- 43:02Speaker 3: I would say the Director's Cut because it has the
- 43:04Speaker 3: NXS song at the beginning, which is not in the
- 43:06Speaker 3: theatrical cut.
- 43:06Speaker 8: Just listen to the song and watch the movie.
- 43:09Speaker 2: I'll watch both.
- 43:10Speaker 8: I need to go back and watch the Director's Cut more.
- 43:12Speaker 8: I just don't like all the explanation that he gives.
- 43:15Speaker 8: I liked the not knowing. I liked the piecing together.
- 43:18Speaker 3: Some of us need the explanation.
- 43:19Speaker 8: Yeah, but it makes some of it kind of stupid.
- 43:21Speaker 8: I liked it. It was a much more interesting and
- 43:24Speaker 8: clever movie when he didn't spell everything out for me.
- 43:28Speaker 8: That's my thoughts on it.
- 43:30Speaker 3: Anything else? What was that song from, the last one?
- 43:34Speaker 8: Donnie Darko.
- 43:35Speaker 18: Yeah.
- 43:35Speaker 8: Joy Division.
- 43:36Speaker 2: Most of you probably know it. Most of you probably
- 43:39Speaker 2: listened to it. If you haven't, check them out.
- 43:41Speaker 8: Next up is Love My Way by The Second I
- 43:44Speaker 8: Looked First.
- 44:02Speaker 13: Floor, it's a fashion without gun, no love.
- 44:06Speaker 10: In a room without a door, a kiss is more
- 44:09Speaker 10: than nothing.
- 44:10Speaker 2: Love my way, it's a new road.
- 44:13Speaker 20: I follow where my mind goes and.
- 44:34Speaker 15: They dearly make us pay.
- 44:37Speaker 9: Laughing in their faces and making it all weighty.
- 44:46Speaker 13: Emptiness behind their eyes and dust in all their hearts.
- 45:05Speaker 16: It's a new road I follow Where my mind goes
- 45:15Speaker 16: Love my way It's a new road I follow I
- 45:54Speaker 16: follow where my mind goes to.
- 46:02Speaker 20: Follow all your fears, my love, and put on your.
- 46:06Speaker 2: New Yeah, that's an awesome song. From a really awesome movie.
- 47:14Speaker 8: You are quite partial to the Valley Girl. Dude, I
- 47:17Speaker 8: love Valley Girl.
- 47:18Speaker 2: I don't know why. Again, chick flick movie.
- 47:21Speaker 3: Wow. Even I've never seen it.
- 47:23Speaker 2: I can't get her to sit and watch Valley Girl.
- 47:25Speaker 2: And this is like Nick Cage, V-shaped chest hair. Valley Girl.
- 47:30Speaker 3: You are not selling me on this at all.
- 47:33Speaker 8: It became more of that formula. At that point, nobody
- 47:36Speaker 8: knew what the hell a chick flick was.
- 47:38Speaker 21: No.
- 47:38Speaker 8: To me, I look back at it and I'm like,
- 47:40Speaker 8: what an 80s movie. It's so steeped in the 80s.
- 47:43Speaker 8: I can't separate it and make it any other kind
- 47:46Speaker 8: of genre. But I haven't watched it in a long,
- 47:48Speaker 8: long time. So if I go back, maybe I'll see
- 47:51Speaker 8: how much it's sort of a chick flick romantic comedy thing.
- 47:53Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 47:54Speaker 8: To me, it's just such an 80s movie.
- 47:56Speaker 2: Yeah. That entire soundtrack is just awesome. I mean, there's
- 48:02Speaker 2: so many songs on that, and that's, I guess, that
- 48:05Speaker 2: whole kind of early, early punk slash new wave era.
- 48:12Speaker 8: Well, and it's also different when it's one of those
- 48:15Speaker 8: movies that it's not doing, it's not creating retro 80s
- 48:19Speaker 8: soundtrack no so many movies do now this was 1983
- 48:22Speaker 8: yeah they put the soundtrack together and they were just
- 48:25Speaker 8: current artists yeah it's a different mode when you're doing
- 48:28Speaker 8: it because so many do it like retroactively and they
- 48:30Speaker 8: just do the hits of the 80s kind of thing
- 48:32Speaker 8: when they go back and piece together an 80s soundtrack now.
- 48:35Speaker 3: Or they just throw a bunch of cure in there.
- 48:37Speaker 8: If you're lucky but yeah i i don't know that
- 48:41Speaker 8: to me it's a very different setting when it's something
- 48:43Speaker 8: that had an awesome soundtrack at the time versus something
- 48:46Speaker 8: that's a A modern movie that they make a period
- 48:48Speaker 8: piece and then pick stuff from that era.
- 48:50Speaker 2: Yeah. Which song did I pick again?
- 48:56Speaker 8: Within the context of doing this, we've already forgotten the song.
- 49:00Speaker 2: I told you, I'm getting old.
- 49:02Speaker 3: Love My Way.
- 49:03Speaker 2: Love My Way, yes. Awesome song.
- 49:06Speaker 8: All right, so next up to round out your five
- 49:11Speaker 8: is Kiss Me Deadly by Generation X.
- 49:13Speaker 22: The greyhounds rocking out tonight to maximum rockabilly when two
- 49:21Speaker 22: punks choose to risk the subway for.
- 49:24Speaker 4: A tube to pick a dilly.
- 49:28Speaker 19: Whose efforts stir fast gangs for glory another Dumb casualty,
- 49:38Speaker 19: having fun It's.
- 49:42Speaker 22: Hour six, hit a flick, night flicks Oh, kiss me.
- 49:51Speaker 19: Deadly Tonight See you next time.
- 50:27Speaker 6: It's all six.
- 50:28Speaker 13: It's Godless Teenage Sex.
- 50:31Speaker 8: Kiss me.
- 51:08Speaker 13: She pulls her lover down In ecstasy but they.
- 51:13Speaker 12: Can't make a sound It's a mother.
- 51:16Speaker 16: My heart comes out.
- 51:21Speaker 6: Having fun.
- 51:24Speaker 8: It's all a six, it's.
- 51:25Speaker 9: Got this teenage sex Her little kiss me Deadly.
- 52:16Speaker 4: Their super horn is empty.
- 52:18Speaker 9: Cause they're all out playing pro.
- 52:23Speaker 2: Hustling down the floor.
- 52:45Speaker 23: Have fun, it's hour six.
- 52:51Speaker 19: Have fun, we'll hit the break night flicks.
- 52:59Speaker 13: We'll fight this war, discover this teenage sex.
- 53:05Speaker 6: We'll hit the break night kicks. Oh, it's night six.
- 53:41Speaker 2: Generation X. Billy Idol. Young Billy Idol.
- 53:46Speaker 8: I think I prefer him when he was Generation X.
- 53:48Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 53:49Speaker 8: He gets cheesier as he gets older.
- 53:50Speaker 15: Yeah, he does.
- 53:51Speaker 2: He does.
- 53:53Speaker 8: So that was SLC Punk is where that one comes from,
- 53:56Speaker 8: which is a good example of that. There's something from
- 53:58Speaker 8: 1998 putting together an old school punk soundtrack.
- 54:02Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 54:02Speaker 2: And again, something I can completely identify with. Getting older.
- 54:08Speaker 2: Kind of going through high school, I guess. I wasn't
- 54:11Speaker 2: a miserable sack all through high school. Towards the end,
- 54:14Speaker 2: I actually pulled myself out. One of my friends got
- 54:19Speaker 2: me into punk and it kind of all went downhill
- 54:23Speaker 2: from there. So the Generation X is just, I guess,
- 54:29Speaker 2: kind of an early, I guess just when I was
- 54:33Speaker 2: kind of getting into it, I had some friends, I
- 54:37Speaker 2: actually made some friends that put together some mixtapes of
- 54:41Speaker 2: stuff that were just kind of like here you need
- 54:42Speaker 2: to listen to this um you know kind of thing
- 54:46Speaker 2: and that kind of pulled me out of uh out
- 54:49Speaker 2: of the teenage depression going into teenage angst wanting just
- 54:54Speaker 2: to smash everybody in the face kind of thing.
- 54:59Speaker 8: Just that term Mixtape. It's funny that... Yeah. That just
- 55:02Speaker 8: stuck with me. It's funny how much that's made its
- 55:04Speaker 8: own weird little comeback.
- 55:05Speaker 2: I know, and I.
- 55:06Speaker 8: And it's so trendy now.
- 55:07Speaker 2: Sometimes I even cringe saying it, but you know what?
- 55:10Speaker 2: Mixed fucking tape. Fuck you, you fucking fucks. I'm tired
- 55:14Speaker 2: of people... No, see, I'm going to get on a
- 55:15Speaker 2: ramp again, and my blood pressure's going to go up,
- 55:18Speaker 2: and I just need to calm down.
- 55:19Speaker 8: Yeah, I mean, it's... I just, like, take it for
- 55:21Speaker 8: what it is.
- 55:22Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 55:22Speaker 8: Like, it was a different thing at the time versus
- 55:24Speaker 8: what dorky kids are doing now.
- 55:25Speaker 17: Yeah.
- 55:26Speaker 8: And I can't call them out because they're doing it
- 55:28Speaker 8: for the right reasons... Some of them. Some of them
- 55:30Speaker 8: are just trying to be trendy and trying to look cool.
- 55:32Speaker 8: But I'm like, some of them are fucking hipsters. But
- 55:36Speaker 8: the ones that, like, there are ones, because I've seen them,
- 55:38Speaker 8: and I'm like, the same ones that are toting around,
- 55:40Speaker 8: they're crates of vinyl. Like, there are ones that they
- 55:43Speaker 8: got into it probably because it was trendy, but they
- 55:45Speaker 8: do have that love of the music, and they do
- 55:47Speaker 8: go into it for the right reasons. Or find them
- 55:50Speaker 8: along the way, maybe.
- 55:51Speaker 2: Well, no, it's like, okay, you're driving in your car,
- 55:54Speaker 2: or at the time, you've got your Walkman. cassette Walkman
- 55:58Speaker 2: and instead of hauling around your backpack full of you
- 56:02Speaker 2: know 25 different cassette tapes most of them I mean
- 56:06Speaker 2: come on really when you listen to a CD or
- 56:08Speaker 2: something there's probably not going to be every song on
- 56:10Speaker 2: the CD that you really love there's very few albums
- 56:13Speaker 2: that I love every single damn song on so what
- 56:16Speaker 2: did you do you went through and you basically you
- 56:19Speaker 2: shuffled this was pre MP3 shuffling yeah so you picked
- 56:24Speaker 2: the songs that you wanted to hear and Unlike my
- 56:26Speaker 2: MP3 player now that seems to like to play the
- 56:28Speaker 2: songs that I don't want to hear.
- 56:30Speaker 8: Mine just plays the same band or the same album
- 56:32Speaker 8: over and over.
- 56:33Speaker 2: Every day.
- 56:33Speaker 8: You don't understand random.
- 56:35Speaker 3: Do you?
- 56:35Speaker 2: How is this random? It's an algorithm, isn't it?
- 56:38Speaker 8: How is it possible that you keep coming up on
- 56:40Speaker 8: the same band?
- 56:42Speaker 2: And I fast forward through a lot of them. Maybe
- 56:44Speaker 2: this will screw it up. But no, it comes back.
- 56:46Speaker 2: It's like, hey, no. Here you go. You're going to
- 56:48Speaker 2: listen to this.
- 56:48Speaker 8: You like this band, damn it?
- 56:49Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 56:50Speaker 2: I don't like their ratings. Or how they figure out
- 56:53Speaker 2: that I like stuff. Because I don't. So, cut it out.
- 56:56Speaker 8: Well, you like those five songs.
- 56:57Speaker 2: I like those five songs.
- 56:58Speaker 8: Those are your killer five. Those are my killer five.
- 57:02Speaker 2: You know, yeah, that's probably a mushy, you know, I guess,
- 57:08Speaker 2: Jay's a big weenie kind of thing, you know. But, hey,
- 57:13Speaker 2: we were all big weenies at one point.
- 57:14Speaker 7: Looks like there's been a slight disagreement between friends. Well,
- 57:18Speaker 7: here's a surefire way to patch things up. Just take

- 58:19Speaker 3: Son of a bitch.
- 58:20Speaker 7: That's part of your problem, you know.
- 58:23Speaker 14: You haven't seen enough movies.
- 58:24Speaker 7: All of life's riddles are answered in the movies.
- 58:27Speaker 15: And now, on with the show.
- 58:33Speaker 8: Well, to continue on down the weenie road, I thought
- 58:37Speaker 8: while we were in the 80s mode, I was trying
- 58:39Speaker 8: to think of something else to play, to throw in here.
- 58:43Speaker 8: One that came up almost immediately, and I thought that's
- 58:45Speaker 8: actually a good tie-in as we're sitting here in the car,
- 58:47Speaker 8: because We also all suffered through this movie. I was
- 58:51Speaker 8: going to go with Teen Angel Eyes by Tommy Two-Tone.
- 58:56Speaker 8: Tommy Two-Tone. And you will know it because it was
- 58:59Speaker 8: in the film that I had you watch, The Last
- 59:01Speaker 8: American Virgin. That movie scarred me.
- 59:04Speaker 3: I didn't like it.
- 59:04Speaker 8: That was my point. like i watched it as a
- 59:06Speaker 8: kid and was scarred by it no but it was
- 59:09Speaker 8: such an 80s movie and that's what i thought i
- 59:11Speaker 8: was like this and it was such it was one
- 59:12Speaker 8: of those that was super 80s soundtrack again at the
- 59:16Speaker 8: time like it was they made it right there in
- 59:18Speaker 8: the 80s and they weren't pulling like yeah to the
- 59:20Speaker 8: 80s they were pulling the cars they were pulling the
- 59:22Speaker 8: police they were pulling stuff.
- 59:23Speaker 2: That was on the radio that's that's the soundtrack's good
- 59:27Speaker 2: I don't need to go revisit the movie.
- 59:28Speaker 8: Because it scarred us all for life.
- 59:29Speaker 3: That movie had a lot of people that I fucking
- 59:31Speaker 3: wanted to punch in the face.
- 59:33Speaker 8: Except Ryan Franklin.
- 59:35Speaker 2: We did. We did. That movie gave me heartburn. Or
- 59:38Speaker 2: irritable bowel syndrome or something. I don't know. It just
- 59:41Speaker 2: didn't agree with me.
- 59:42Speaker 8: It's a very uneven... I think it's amazing, but at
- 59:45Speaker 8: the same time, it's very uneven because it's a goofy
- 59:47Speaker 8: sex comedy one minute. It's horribly depressing in the real
- 59:51Speaker 8: world the next.
- 59:51Speaker 2: Well, I mean, yeah, it's everything that my life wasn't so...
- 59:55Speaker 2: Maybe that's why I'm just kind of like, eh. It
- 59:57Speaker 2: would be like me watching a baseball documentary or something.
- 1:00:01Speaker 3: Me watching a documentary.
- 1:00:03Speaker 2: In general.
- 1:00:04Speaker 3: Exactly.
- 1:00:05Speaker 14: Nice.
- 1:00:06Speaker 8: Well, if nothing else, we talked to Diane Franklin.
- 1:00:10Speaker 3: She was adorable.
- 1:00:11Speaker 8: She was adorable. And we'll let her do her little
- 1:00:14Speaker 8: intro and get into Teen Angel Eyes. This is Diane
- 1:00:17Speaker 8: Franklin with Movie Meltdown.
- 1:00:18Speaker 23: Music I never knew it could be like this Your eyes,
- 1:00:48Speaker 23: your kiss I've never known such tenderness Not till I met.
- 1:00:55Speaker 6: You If I could only make you.
- 1:01:00Speaker 21: Believe That what he gives you isn't what you need.
- 1:01:06Speaker 6: But you see him, you don't see me.
- 1:01:09Speaker 13: No matter what I try, my teenage old eyes keep
- 1:01:16Speaker 13: on denying. I'll stand right by your side, my teenage
- 1:01:23Speaker 13: old eyes.
- 1:01:30Speaker 9: There's no telling how our love will grow And.
- 1:01:34Speaker 21: Though it's raining when it starts to show We'll keep
- 1:01:38Speaker 21: it hidden so no one will know It came from
- 1:01:42Speaker 21: your true love.
- 1:01:45Speaker 9: They make us pay but they can't.
- 1:01:47Speaker 21: Forgive What we've had together ¶ Hear them talking about
- 1:01:54Speaker 21: the pregnant kids ¶ ¶.
- 1:01:57Speaker 6: Let them talk forever ¶.
- 1:02:01Speaker 21: ¶ My teenager life ¶ ¶ Just keep.
- 1:02:06Speaker 13: On denying ¶ ¶ I'll stand.
- 1:02:10Speaker 21: Right by your side ¶ ¶ My teenager.
- 1:02:14Speaker 6: Life ¶.
- 1:02:34Speaker 22: Me apart How could you give him back your heart?
- 1:02:39Speaker 6: And I just got that older Bye. Bye. So 80s.
- 1:03:17Speaker 16: You can't get more 80s.
- 1:03:22Speaker 6: Than that sound.
- 1:03:41Speaker 3: I think the picture of you and her is the
- 1:03:42Speaker 3: contact picture for you on my phone.
- 1:03:46Speaker 8: The one where she's all hanging on me. I think so.
- 1:03:49Speaker 3: I don't know. I lost track of all the 80s
- 1:03:50Speaker 3: chicks that we've seen at conventions, so it might be
- 1:03:52Speaker 3: some other girl.
- 1:03:54Speaker 8: The hell you say. Yep, that would be me and
- 1:03:57Speaker 8: Diane Franklin right there.
- 1:04:00Speaker 11: Yes.
- 1:04:00Speaker 8: So to get into another running segment here, this is
- 1:04:03Speaker 8: one that I just sort of stumbled upon, and I
- 1:04:06Speaker 8: obviously knew this somewhere in the back of my mind,
- 1:04:09Speaker 8: but it's not usually what you think about when you're
- 1:04:11Speaker 8: paying attention to this genre. But it's sort of that
- 1:04:14Speaker 8: same thing. We were talking about the 80s and going
- 1:04:16Speaker 8: back and the music that was sort of just around
- 1:04:20Speaker 8: at the time. This is going back to an era
- 1:04:22Speaker 8: even before that as we get into the world of porn.
- 1:04:32Speaker 3: It's time for scoring with porn.
- 1:04:40Speaker 8: But that's the thing. Porn used to be something so different. Yeah,
- 1:04:44Speaker 8: it still amazes me that, number one, like, they used
- 1:04:47Speaker 8: to show it in theaters.
- 1:04:49Speaker 6: Oh, yeah.
- 1:04:49Speaker 8: We all kind of have memories of that. It was
- 1:04:52Speaker 8: right until video came along and killed it. Like, it
- 1:04:54Speaker 8: was a theater-based movie system just like everything else.
- 1:04:58Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, and then internet came and killed videos.
- 1:05:00Speaker 8: And killed everything, yeah. I mean, it annihilated any other
- 1:05:04Speaker 8: way for porn to exist, and yet set it free
- 1:05:07Speaker 8: to be bigger and more evil and scary. scarring than
- 1:05:11Speaker 8: anything could ever be.
- 1:05:13Speaker 4: Oh, internet porn.
- 1:05:14Speaker 8: But what was funny as I got into it, like
- 1:05:16Speaker 8: I started running across, like they also did actual soundtracks
- 1:05:20Speaker 8: on occasion. I guess it has to be the big
- 1:05:23Speaker 8: budget ones, but they would record like specific scores to
- 1:05:28Speaker 8: go along with certain movies.
- 1:05:29Speaker 3: Specific bound chicken wows? Yes.
- 1:05:32Speaker 8: And that's what's funny. Like you would think they would
- 1:05:34Speaker 8: just use the same one, which, oh, by the way,
- 1:05:35Speaker 8: they do. In a lot of movies, they just steal
- 1:05:37Speaker 8: that same music and keep playing it over and over
- 1:05:40Speaker 8: and over again, even within the movie. But there were
- 1:05:42Speaker 8: certain ones, I guess the high-end ones, which is funny,
- 1:05:45Speaker 8: talking about porn, but that actually brought in somebody to
- 1:05:49Speaker 8: compose a theme for these movies. I just thought that was,
- 1:05:53Speaker 8: you know, I was like, if we're getting into movie music,
- 1:05:56Speaker 8: once again, no boundaries. Let's go everywhere. It's like, I
- 1:05:59Speaker 8: ain't afraid of no porn. So let's go ahead and
- 1:06:01Speaker 8: work in some porn music. So this was one of
- 1:06:04Speaker 8: the ones I came across. This is from a film called,
- 1:06:08Speaker 8: classy as always, Teenage Twins. Because what's hotter than getting
- 1:06:12Speaker 8: it on with your sister?
- 1:06:14Speaker 6: What?
- 1:06:15Speaker 8: Yeah, it stars Brooke and Taylor Young. So I'm assuming
- 1:06:19Speaker 8: the twins thing isn't just for show. It's not just
- 1:06:22Speaker 8: part of the movie.
- 1:06:23Speaker 2: Wow, okay.
- 1:06:26Speaker 8: Yeah, 1976. This would be the opening track called Happy Homecoming,
- 1:06:31Speaker 8: composed by Alan Hawkshaw.
- 1:06:33Speaker 2: How do they spell homecoming? Because, really.
- 1:06:37Speaker 8: Just be glad I didn't say happy ending.
- 1:07:23Speaker 6: Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
- 1:09:39Speaker 8: So yeah, I thought, if nothing else, that was a weird... Again,
- 1:09:44Speaker 8: if we're going to throw in scores along the way,
- 1:09:46Speaker 8: I think you've got to work in some from forgotten porn.
- 1:09:52Speaker 2: I come from a really weird area as far as
- 1:09:56Speaker 2: porn is concerned because I guess... I guess most kids
- 1:10:02Speaker 2: grow up and they either find their dad's porn stash or.
- 1:10:07Speaker 2: Their brother or somehow they're exposed to it.
- 1:10:11Speaker 3: Or you find the de-scramble channel on the satellite where
- 1:10:13Speaker 3: you have to flip back and forth to try to
- 1:10:15Speaker 3: get it to come in.
- 1:10:15Speaker 8: I could never get that to work.
- 1:10:17Speaker 2: See, I didn't have any of that, and my parents
- 1:10:19Speaker 2: were really religious. So the thing, I guess, that kind
- 1:10:23Speaker 2: of formed the way I am or what I like
- 1:10:27Speaker 2: was my friend's granddad. No, no, you've got to think
- 1:10:33Speaker 2: about it. The guy was an old merchant marine, so
- 1:10:36Speaker 2: as far as me seeing naked women, it was mostly,
- 1:10:39Speaker 2: he had pinup pictures in his garage of half-naked women,
- 1:10:44Speaker 2: but they were all from the 50s and 60s. And that's,
- 1:10:48Speaker 2: I guess that's what I kind of grew up liking.
- 1:10:50Speaker 2: I didn't get into the whole 70s porn and stuff
- 1:10:53Speaker 2: like that. I don't know, maybe I'm just, I guess
- 1:10:55Speaker 2: I was more into the Cheesecake and Fargo Girls, you know.
- 1:10:59Speaker 2: That's probably a better way to go.
- 1:11:01Speaker 8: As time's gone on, I've come around to that, where
- 1:11:04Speaker 8: I certainly appreciate... There is something to appreciate with that,
- 1:11:07Speaker 8: whereas porn is just guttural. It's just like... It serves
- 1:11:12Speaker 8: its purpose. I'm not damning it. I certainly make use
- 1:11:15Speaker 8: of it more than most humans need to. But it's
- 1:11:18Speaker 8: something very different. Gross! There you go. You can't appreciate
- 1:11:23Speaker 8: anything that's going on there. It's all just horrible.
- 1:11:26Speaker 2: Well, it's for a specific... why i mean you're like
- 1:11:30Speaker 2: it is watching it for one reason.
- 1:11:32Speaker 3: And one reason only and it ain't gonna win an
- 1:11:34Speaker 3: oscar yeah.
- 1:11:35Speaker 8: Certainly it might win a uh whatever those things are
- 1:11:38Speaker 8: called i don't know whatever those things are called.
- 1:11:40Speaker 2: Uh adult video award but yeah.
- 1:11:43Speaker 8: I don't know i think there's something to appreciate in
- 1:11:46Speaker 8: the other stuff the sort of pin-up stuff and the
- 1:11:49Speaker 8: you know the the classy yeah it's very classy.
- 1:11:53Speaker 2: Yeah then we played some like burlesque music or something.
- 1:11:57Speaker 13: Maybe I can get into that.
- 1:11:58Speaker 8: You know, some of the, you know, you know, kind
- 1:12:02Speaker 8: of thing. But, that's out there. Maybe we'll get back
- 1:12:06Speaker 8: to that. There's certainly some of those movies to come
- 1:12:08Speaker 8: back to somewhere down the line.
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:12:11Speaker 2: You know, it's one of those things. I guess I
- 1:12:15Speaker 2: ended up, that was my exposure, was probably better than
- 1:12:18Speaker 2: most people, you know? And it wasn't, it wasn't like the,
- 1:12:22Speaker 2: I don't know, it's hard to describe.
- 1:12:23Speaker 8: I mean, how do you describe it?
- 1:12:25Speaker 2: You know, it wasn't the, ooh, dirty porn, ah, dirty,
- 1:12:28Speaker 2: dirty boy kind of thing. It was just kind of like, hey,
- 1:12:30Speaker 2: this girl's beautiful, you know, kind of thing. I mean,
- 1:12:35Speaker 2: that's a better version. Maybe I grew up with a
- 1:12:38Speaker 2: different view of, I guess, porn and a different view
- 1:12:42Speaker 2: of women, I guess.
- 1:12:44Speaker 8: I don't know. It's a better version. It's definitely, again,
- 1:12:48Speaker 8: appreciating her as a person versus look at this act
- 1:12:53Speaker 8: going on.
- 1:12:53Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:12:55Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:12:56Speaker 8: I mean, what do you think, girlfriend?
- 1:12:57Speaker 2: You know I'm nuts. I don't know.
- 1:13:02Speaker 3: You're weird for many, many, many reasons. I don't know.
- 1:13:06Speaker 3: I don't really have much to add on the porn.
- 1:13:08Speaker 3: Feel free to. My grandma bought me a Playgirl magazine
- 1:13:13Speaker 3: when I was 16. It had Shawn Michaels.
- 1:13:16Speaker 8: He was hot. That's not creepy at all.
- 1:13:18Speaker 3: It had Shawn Michaels. He was hot. I loved me
- 1:13:20Speaker 3: some wrestling at the time. My grandma's awesome, shut up.
- 1:13:24Speaker 8: No, she is pretty awesome, but it's still creepy. Her
- 1:13:27Speaker 8: grandma was awesome.
- 1:13:28Speaker 3: My grandma is awesome.
- 1:13:29Speaker 2: I've seen... Oh, yeah, her grandma's still awesome. I've seen
- 1:13:31Speaker 2: some photos of your grandma back in the 60s, and
- 1:13:34Speaker 2: your grandma was hot.
- 1:13:36Speaker 3: She was.
- 1:13:37Speaker 2: She was awesome.
- 1:13:38Speaker 8: She is that cool.
- 1:13:39Speaker 2: She is. She is super cool. She is awesome. I
- 1:13:42Speaker 2: don't know how else to describe it, but she is.
- 1:13:44Speaker 3: Where do you think I get it from?
- 1:13:46Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 1:13:47Speaker 8: I don't know. It's awesome.
- 1:13:50Speaker 3: Gift generations to my mom and my grandma was awesome.
- 1:13:54Speaker 2: Yeah skipped your aunt missed your aunt by like a solar.
- 1:14:01Speaker 8: System alright so to round this thing out there's another
- 1:14:05Speaker 8: new area I was going to go into a little
- 1:14:09Speaker 8: subsection to revisit every once in a while don't quit
- 1:14:13Speaker 8: your day job all.
- 1:14:14Speaker 9: My life people kept saying grow up fish give up
- 1:14:16Speaker 9: on your dreams fish get a haircut fish you'll never
- 1:14:19Speaker 9: rock anymore You know what?
- 1:14:22Speaker 2: Look at me now, Day Job!
- 1:14:26Speaker 8: I figure there's a lot of people out there that
- 1:14:29Speaker 8: we'll all know as probably, especially since we're still a
- 1:14:31Speaker 8: movie-themed show about music, so there's a lot of people
- 1:14:34Speaker 8: out there that we would know as an actor, but
- 1:14:37Speaker 8: they think of themselves as a musician, and they want
- 1:14:40Speaker 8: to put out albums, so I think every once in
- 1:14:42Speaker 8: a while we'll have to throw one of those in.
- 1:14:44Speaker 8: But again, I thought with the crew on hand, maybe
- 1:14:46Speaker 8: this week we would have to throw in a little
- 1:14:48Speaker 8: bit of Mila.
- 1:14:49Speaker 2: Oh, no, come on.
- 1:14:50Speaker 8: I'm not knocking her. I'm going to play the music.
- 1:14:53Speaker 3: Which song? Because Gentleman Who Fell is an awesome song.
- 1:14:57Speaker 8: That's what I figured. That's the track with her. That's
- 1:14:59Speaker 8: the one that people probably know. It did have a video.
- 1:15:02Speaker 2: Yeah, I figured you would have picked, like, you know.
- 1:15:03Speaker 3: Of course he's going to pick Mila. You like Mila.
- 1:15:07Speaker 3: Why would he pick anybody else? That's why I picked Mila.
- 1:15:09Speaker 4: You like Mila.
- 1:15:09Speaker 3: Oh, no, no.
- 1:15:10Speaker 2: I thought you were talking about actors that think they're singers.
- 1:15:13Speaker 8: It's going to fall on both sides. They suck at singing.
- 1:15:17Speaker 5: Yeah, no.
- 1:15:19Speaker 8: You know, that's why I kind of want to throw
- 1:15:22Speaker 8: them out there and you guys can decide for yourself
- 1:15:24Speaker 8: what you think about them.
- 1:15:25Speaker 2: She's a Jill of all trades. She's awesome.
- 1:15:28Speaker 8: She's also a yo-yo bitch.
- 1:15:30Speaker 2: She's also what?
- 1:15:31Speaker 8: How do you say it, Misty?
- 1:15:33Speaker 3: Yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo Does anyone have the Corey song when it's my turn?
- 1:15:52Speaker 8: If you would prefer.
- 1:15:54Speaker 6: Oh, wow.
- 1:15:55Speaker 3: One of his songs doesn't suck.
- 1:15:57Speaker 6: Okay.
- 1:15:59Speaker 8: It's not great. Oh, I don't remember.
- 1:16:02Speaker 3: But Mila's awesome, though. I adore her in every way.
- 1:16:05Speaker 8: That's what I thought.
- 1:16:06Speaker 3: Although she is getting old lady legs now.
- 1:16:08Speaker 8: But she's still a badass, you know, swinging around, shooting
- 1:16:11Speaker 8: zombies in the head kind of a chick.
- 1:16:12Speaker 3: Is she having the next Expendables movie?
- 1:16:14Speaker 2: Probably.
- 1:16:15Speaker 8: That's what I heard.
- 1:16:16Speaker 2: She's gorgeous.
- 1:16:16Speaker 3: She's gorgeous.
- 1:16:17Speaker 8: She'll be the villain in part four. I think they
- 1:16:20Speaker 8: just announced the villain for three is supposed to be
- 1:16:22Speaker 8: Mel Gibson, which is hilarious, actually. So they'll bring out
- 1:16:27Speaker 8: Mila for part four.
- 1:16:28Speaker 3: I think she just put a new album out, too,
- 1:16:30Speaker 3: didn't she? Or is she working on it?
- 1:16:32Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:16:33Speaker 4: You tell me.
- 1:16:34Speaker 3: She just released another video.
- 1:16:37Speaker 2: How does she have time to do anything? I mean,
- 1:16:38Speaker 2: she does a clothing line.
- 1:16:39Speaker 8: She's got a kid.
- 1:16:41Speaker 2: She's married. She's got. Videos and acting careers and movies
- 1:16:46Speaker 2: and interviews.
- 1:16:48Speaker 3: Maybe there really are a whole bunch of clones of her,
- 1:16:50Speaker 3: like in Resident Evil. There's like eight Milas at any time.
- 1:16:54Speaker 2: There's got to be. I mean, I can barely go
- 1:16:56Speaker 2: to work and like.
- 1:16:58Speaker 8: Not trip over a Mila?
- 1:16:59Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:17:00Speaker 2: Well, no.
- 1:17:01Speaker 15: I mean.
- 1:17:01Speaker 8: These Milas are everywhere, damn it.
- 1:17:03Speaker 2: No, not quite.
- 1:17:04Speaker 8: You wish.
- 1:17:06Speaker 2: Better than what I got to work with.
- 1:17:07Speaker 3: Imagine a bunch of Milas around your work welding.
- 1:17:11Speaker 2: Welding all day.
- 1:17:12Speaker 8: I don't know. Just big flash dance scenes breaking out.
- 1:17:16Speaker 2: I guess that would be cool. Like I said, it
- 1:17:18Speaker 2: would be better than what I have to work with.
- 1:17:21Speaker 3: Well, I thought.
- 1:17:22Speaker 8: That's a good way to kick this off and to
- 1:17:25Speaker 8: round out this episode. This will be The Gentleman Who
- 1:17:29Speaker 8: Fell from her album The Divine Comedy. I don't know.
- 1:17:34Speaker 8: What's anything else to send them off with as we
- 1:17:37Speaker 8: go here? As we head off down the road?
- 1:17:39Speaker 3: We're going to put on Cave City. And to your right,
- 1:17:42Speaker 3: you will see Gunshound Mountain. And the haunted house, it
- 1:17:47Speaker 3: has Charmin Charles, who I, at one point, intended to marry.
- 1:17:51Speaker 8: How did that go?
- 1:17:53Speaker 3: Didn't work out well.
- 1:17:56Speaker 8: He has a skeleton, and all he likes to do
- 1:17:57Speaker 8: is play piano.
- 1:17:58Speaker 3: And he had one eye!
- 1:17:59Speaker 8: Well, that's okay. I mean, we don't hold grudges. He's
- 1:18:02Speaker 8: specially enabled? Differently able?
- 1:18:06Speaker 3: Differently able.
- 1:18:06Speaker 8: He has a huge adult bookstore. Adult bookstore? There we go.
- 1:18:10Speaker 4: Back to the point.
- 1:18:11Speaker 3: I think that's it.
- 1:18:12Speaker 8: Keep on truckin'. That's kind of what I was just
- 1:18:15Speaker 8: thinking right now. So with that, go ahead, Misty.
- 1:18:20Speaker 3: Keep on truckin'..
- 1:18:22Speaker 8: And we will head on down the road.
- 1:18:24Speaker 17: Reaching over life to life Feeling sugared skin My poor
- 1:18:34Speaker 17: baby kissed him so Too ashamed to.
- 1:18:39Speaker 6: Lift his chin. it dropped when gone.
- 1:19:08Speaker 18: I don't know how to speak.
- 1:19:16Speaker 12: To you I don't know how to trust you I
- 1:19:24Speaker 12: don't know how to live for you I don't.
- 1:19:29Speaker 3: Know how.
- 1:19:43Speaker 17: I feel your closeness like a shotgun chill within my
- 1:20:04Speaker 17: soul Touch.
- 1:20:07Speaker 12: Your finger Know your darkness Your passion takes.
- 1:20:13Speaker 6: Its toll Can't see.
- 1:20:17Speaker 17: That this talk is cheap Let.
- 1:20:21Speaker 16: The suffering go I don't know how to.
- 1:20:27Speaker 12: Speak to you I don't know how to trust you.
- 1:20:34Speaker 6: I don't know how.
- 1:20:36Speaker 12: To live for you I don't know how Oh, you.
- 1:20:43Speaker 6: The gentleman fell before the corpse. Oh, you.
- 1:21:12Speaker 12: Hey there, mister, talk too much.
- 1:21:18Speaker 16: What's in store for us now?
- 1:21:22Speaker 6: I don't know how. I don't know how. I don't
- 1:21:35Speaker 6: know how to love you.
- 1:21:43Speaker 24: I don't know how to trust you I don't know
- 1:21:49Speaker 24: how to live for you I don't know how to
- 1:21:56Speaker 24: love you Oh.
- 1:21:59Speaker 6: Oh, oh, oh Oh.
- 1:22:02Speaker 8: Oh, oh, oh Oh, oh, oh, oh Oh.
- 1:22:07Speaker 6: Oh, oh, oh Keep on truckin'? Don't be jealous.
