2026 January 25 - Phobos: Doomed Moon of Mars
In today's image, we see Phobos, one of the two moons of Mars as imaged by the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter. It is called the doomed moon because it is in a decaying orbit and will be torn apart by Mars' gravity in a million years or so.
