- 0:45Speaker 1: weeks till spring. So, hey, before we start, want to
- 0:48Speaker 1: thank Barrett Media. Now, in the radio business, Barrett Media
- 0:54Speaker 1: is like the Bible of the industry. It's the official
- 0:58Speaker 1: trade magazine of radio, talk, radio, music, radio, all kinds
- 1:01Speaker 1: of radio. It's the the trade magazine Barrett Media. It's
- 1:06Speaker 1: a website. You can go look at it, and you should.
- 1:08Speaker 1: It's actually got very interesting stuff if you're interested in
- 1:11Speaker 1: radio and news and talk, and they got all kinds
- 1:14Speaker 1: of great stories. Barrettmedia dot Com, two ours, two teas
- 1:18Speaker 1: Barrettmedia dot Com and then every year at this time
- 1:23Speaker 1: they do. This is like our equivalent of the Academy Awards,
- 1:28Speaker 1: and the best thing you can win is a number
- 1:29Speaker 1: one show. There's a number one show in America, morning show,
- 1:33Speaker 1: number one, afternoon show, number one midday show. And it
- 1:37Speaker 1: just came out today we won as the number one
- 1:40Speaker 1: show in America mid days, number one in America. This
- 1:44Speaker 1: is like winning the Oscar for Best Pictures. So it's
- 1:48Speaker 1: a great honor for all of us here that work
- 1:50Speaker 1: on the show, management, everybody in the control room, everybody here.
- 1:54Speaker 1: Number one. We won last year's number one. We're number
- 1:56Speaker 1: one again this year, so thanks to Barrett Media. But
- 1:59Speaker 1: start reading this site every day. I think you'll like it.
- 2:01Speaker 1: You'll learn a lot of stuff, not just about radio,
- 2:04Speaker 1: but a lot of stuff about news and talk, and
- 2:07Speaker 1: they very good at covering cable news stuff. But it's
- 2:10Speaker 1: like the trade magazine of the radio industry. Barrettmedia dot Com.
- 2:15Speaker 1: Check it out. It's Jason Barrett and Barrettmedia dot Com.
- 2:20Speaker 1: It's a great honor and we're very happy about it,
- 2:23Speaker 1: which means we got to now, look, we got to
- 2:25Speaker 1: make room for another we have it. The last year's
- 2:27Speaker 1: framed over there. We got to put another one over there.
- 2:30Speaker 1: But that's a good problem to have. The latest on
- 2:33Speaker 1: the Guthrie kidnapping. They found the glove, as you know,
- 2:38Speaker 1: on the side of the road. But here's the part
- 2:40Speaker 1: you might not realize. You know, it's a huge area,
- 2:44Speaker 1: it's a lot of desert. It's an enormous area. Why
- 2:47Speaker 1: would they pull up there and find a glove there? Well,
- 2:51Speaker 1: they're not saying much. The feds are now running things,
- 2:53Speaker 1: not the locals, and the Feds keep everything very quiet.
- 2:57Speaker 1: They don't talk, they don't let on. But apparently they
- 3:01Speaker 1: have gone to looking at every car that was in
- 3:04Speaker 1: the area around that time, anywhere near that time that night.
- 3:10Speaker 1: You can get the GPS off cell phones. Your phone
- 3:14Speaker 1: has a GPS in it, and whether you want to,
- 3:18Speaker 1: whether you use it or not, that GPS is always working.
- 3:20Speaker 1: Even if you have your phone shut off, that GPS
- 3:22Speaker 1: is working because as soon as you turn it back on,
- 3:25Speaker 1: it'll upload the GPS information to somewhere. It's a place
- 3:29Speaker 1: where only federal authorities and really good you know, investigators
- 3:34Speaker 1: can get to it. But apparently they were tracking cars
- 3:38Speaker 1: that were going on certain routes, so that's where they
- 3:41Speaker 1: happened to see that glove. They were following the route
- 3:43Speaker 1: of a car that they had seen. They'd seen the
- 3:45Speaker 1: GPS on that car going that route, so they were
- 3:48Speaker 1: driving that route, looking going slow, looking out the window,
- 3:52Speaker 1: and they saw the glove. It appears to be the
- 3:53Speaker 1: glove that the invader there, the kidnapper, was wearing in
- 3:59Speaker 1: that video. We've all seen. It's a big, puffy, very
- 4:03Speaker 1: winter ski glove kind of thing, so not something anybody
- 4:07Speaker 1: in Tucson would ever own or wear. Very unusual, even
- 4:11Speaker 1: that big puffy coat. Tucson doesn't get that cold. So
- 4:14Speaker 1: they've found the glove, and because it's such a warm,
- 4:18Speaker 1: warm glove in such a hot climate, it's assumed that
- 4:21Speaker 1: the person must have sweated a lot wearing all that stuff,
- 4:25Speaker 1: and that sweat left a lot of DNA inside the glove.
- 4:28Speaker 1: It's possible there could be a fingerprint, although highly unlikely,
- 4:33Speaker 1: but they're looking at the glove looking for DNA. All
- 4:36Speaker 1: that sweat inside the glove could create some DNA. The
- 4:40Speaker 1: other thing they're looking at is the outside of the glove,
- 4:43Speaker 1: looking for any traces of blood because as we know,
- 4:46Speaker 1: Nancy Guthrie was bleeding as they took her out, and
- 4:49Speaker 1: it's possible the glove touched the touch the face or
- 4:52Speaker 1: wherever she was bleeding and got some blood on it,
- 4:54Speaker 1: so you'd have two sets of DNA on that glove.
- 4:57Speaker 1: So that's what they're looking at. Been somehow TMZ got
- 5:02Speaker 1: themselves a little too involved in this. If you have
- 5:06Speaker 1: anything to report, call the FBI. That's the best way
- 5:09Speaker 1: to do it. But a lot of people have been
- 5:11Speaker 1: going to TMZ, which they're very nice. Harvey Levin's a
- 5:13Speaker 1: great guy and tmzs a lot of fun to read,
- 5:17Speaker 1: but it's like, I don't mean this in a bad way,
- 5:20Speaker 1: but it's today's version of the National Inquirer, and they
- 5:24Speaker 1: print all kinds of stuff. They got all kinds of sources,
- 5:27Speaker 1: and a lot of times the stuff is true, but
- 5:28Speaker 1: sometimes it's not so true. I like the National Inquirer,
- 5:32Speaker 1: which broke a lot of big stories, but a lot
- 5:34Speaker 1: of stuff they broke didn't turn out to be exactly true.
- 5:37Speaker 1: So you got the same problem with TMZ. People are
- 5:40Speaker 1: going there. FBI is getting tips. Now. The tips are
- 5:43Speaker 1: very important because somebody might recognize something on that video.
- 5:48Speaker 1: The way the guy's eyes looked or something about his shape.
- 5:50Speaker 1: But they've gotten eighteen thousand tips. Now, it takes incredible
- 5:56Speaker 1: manpower because you got to run down each one of
- 5:58Speaker 1: them eighteen and tips have come in. That's why they
- 6:01Speaker 1: arrested that delivery guy the other day. Now, if you
- 6:05Speaker 1: look at that guy, his shape, his body, his shoulders,
- 6:09Speaker 1: the shape of his arms, his legs, he looks exactly
- 6:13Speaker 1: like the guy in the video, and his eyes look
- 6:15Speaker 1: like those guy's video. He has a mustache just like
- 6:17Speaker 1: the guy. The outline of him is exactly the same
- 6:20Speaker 1: as the guy in the video. They've determined it's not him.
- 6:23Speaker 1: I assume he could prove where he was and it
- 6:25Speaker 1: was nowhere near there that night. But he was a
- 6:28Speaker 1: delivery guy. And again they were checking the GPS's of
- 6:31Speaker 1: phones tracing the cars, and apparently his delivery route that
- 6:36Speaker 1: night took him somewhere near that house. That's why they
- 6:39Speaker 1: pulled this guy over.
- 6:40Speaker 2: And once they saw they were following me, I pulled over.
- 6:42Speaker 2: They didn't even have to put a traffic stopper any day.
- 6:44Speaker 2: I got off the car and they arrested me as
- 6:46Speaker 2: soon as I got off the car.
- 6:47Speaker 1: Yeah, he looked like the guy in the it's not
- 6:48Speaker 1: the guy in the video. They've determined, but he looked
- 6:50Speaker 1: like it.
- 6:50Speaker 2: And then the detective guy here was the FBI agent
- 6:53Speaker 2: in the Santa Cruz County and they told me I
- 6:56Speaker 2: was being detained for kidnapping. And I asked him, I
- 6:59Speaker 2: will kidnapping of who told me this? Eighty I don't
- 7:01Speaker 2: know her name and Nancy Guthrie, Yeah, sir, I told
- 7:06Speaker 2: him I worked it two or some for Glas. I
- 7:08Speaker 2: might have delivered a back at your house, but I
- 7:10Speaker 2: know cannaotp pay anybody. They hold me from from like
- 7:13Speaker 2: four to right now.
- 7:15Speaker 1: Yeah, but they were able to determine he's not the guy,
- 7:17Speaker 1: so we'll see what happens. I think something's gonna break.
- 7:21Speaker 1: They're getting eighteen thousand tips. Takes time to run him down,
- 7:25Speaker 1: but but something could happen. Also, you know this demanding
- 7:31Speaker 1: bitcoin we've saw the two days ago they made a
- 7:35Speaker 1: three hundred dollars deposit into that bitcoin account and yesterday
- 7:38Speaker 1: one hundred dollars deposit. Now what's that all about. Well,
- 7:42Speaker 1: you may not realize this, but bitcoin can be traced
- 7:46Speaker 1: if you're using crypto to hide from the authorities, if
- 7:49Speaker 1: you're a drug dealer, hedge fun guy paying off people
- 7:54Speaker 1: that you know, whoever uses crypto for nefarious purposes. It
- 7:58Speaker 1: can be traced. I hate to break it to you.
- 8:01Speaker 1: So the way you trace it, they'll send a little
- 8:04Speaker 1: amount in there, like three hundred bucks or yesterday these
- 8:06Speaker 1: one hundred dollars, and once you send it to a
- 8:09Speaker 1: bitcoin address, it goes through the chain. It goes through
- 8:12Speaker 1: the blockchain, and it leaves footprints all over the place.
- 8:15Speaker 1: You can you can't do it, but the most sophisticated
- 8:19Speaker 1: federal investigators can trace it through the blockchain and see
- 8:23Speaker 1: exactly where it lands. So it is traceable. It's been
- 8:27Speaker 1: done before, so they are tracing the bitcoin as we speak,
- 8:32Speaker 1: so we'll see what develops. He Hey, Tom Holman has
- 8:35Speaker 1: announced ICE is leaving Minnesota. It's over. They say they've
- 8:39Speaker 1: arrested about five six thousand dangerous criminals and they're getting
- 8:43Speaker 1: the hell out of there. They you know, they oughter
- 8:46Speaker 1: just to thank Minnesota for their horrifying, awful reception. They
- 8:50Speaker 1: ought to take the six thousand criminals and just dump
- 8:52Speaker 1: them right in the middle of Minneapolis. Here's your criminals back,
- 8:55Speaker 1: here's your dangerous criminals. You want them back here? They are, no,
- 8:58Speaker 1: but they're not going to do that. But it's the
- 9:01Speaker 1: end of ICE in Minnesota. They're leaving. They are, of course,
- 9:04Speaker 1: operating in many other cities on a much bigger scale
- 9:08Speaker 1: with no problem at all because local authorities cooperate. We
- 9:13Speaker 1: had Bruce Blakeman on the show the other day, who
- 9:16Speaker 1: should be the governor in November. He'd be the perfect governor.
- 9:19Speaker 1: But I said, you know, they're all over NASA. Kenna said,
- 9:22Speaker 1: how come we have no problems? He said, we cooperate.
- 9:24Speaker 1: We have full cooperation. We coordinate with them, We lend
- 9:28Speaker 1: them local help, police detectives, we even lend them jail cells.
- 9:31Speaker 1: We cooperate, and it's very They do pick up dangerous criminals.
- 9:34Speaker 1: If we cooperate and coordinate with them, it's orderly, it's very,
- 9:37Speaker 1: very peaceful. Now that's Bruce Plakeman, who would be a
- 9:40Speaker 1: great governor. But you got that kookie new Jersey governor,
- 9:44Speaker 1: the new one, Mikey Cheryl, who sounds like she's a
- 9:47Speaker 1: fourteen years old, but she's not going to cooperate with ICE.
- 9:51Speaker 3: I'm signing an executive order to ban ICE from launching
- 9:55Speaker 3: actions from any state property. That means no ICE stage as,
- 10:00Speaker 3: no processing locations, no operating basis, no federal civil immigration
- 10:07Speaker 3: actions run from any state grounds, not our parks, not
- 10:12Speaker 3: our roadways, not our buildings.
- 10:14Speaker 2: Here you go.
- 10:17Speaker 1: Perfect. You want to come in here and arrest dangerous criminals,
- 10:20Speaker 1: you are not coming in here. We're not going to
- 10:22Speaker 1: let you do that here. Hey, the bad Bunny stuff continues.
- 10:26Speaker 1: I'm actually enjoying this bad Bunny stuff because listen, the
- 10:29Speaker 1: halftime show was pretty good. I don't know what Delly
- 10:31Speaker 1: was singing about. Who could tell what he was singing? Hey,
- 10:34Speaker 1: But half the music today I can't understand what they're
- 10:36Speaker 1: saying either. But and it looked good. It was colorful,
- 10:40Speaker 1: moving dancing, the sets, the scenery was very well done,
- 10:44Speaker 1: very well done. It was great. But I mean, it
- 10:49Speaker 1: wouldn't have been my first choice Bad Bunny, but it
- 10:52Speaker 1: was worth it. Just all these lefties, all these liberals,
- 10:56Speaker 1: all these Democrats now have to run around pretending that
- 11:00Speaker 1: they're bad Bunny fans. They never heard of the guy
- 11:03Speaker 1: two weeks ago, but they're all running around trying to
- 11:06Speaker 1: convince you they're bad Bunny fans. Oh I love bad Bunny.
- 11:08Speaker 1: I love bad Bunny. You do, Oh, I love bad Bunny.
- 11:11Speaker 1: Name one song by him, You're racist. They just go crazy.
- 11:16Speaker 1: Even Jimmy Kimmel admits it. This week, almost every liberal
- 11:19Speaker 1: I know suddenly really into Bad Bunny.
- 11:21Speaker 2: I mean people I've never heard say the words bad
- 11:25Speaker 2: or Bunny in their lives, like I can't wait for
- 11:28Speaker 2: Bad Bunny. Oh, what's your.
- 11:34Speaker 1: What's your favorite Bad Bunny song? I don't know, but
- 11:36Speaker 1: I love them. I love that. It's true. They never
- 11:40Speaker 1: heard of this guy three weeks ago. When was the
- 11:42Speaker 1: last time you heard anybody, any Democrat, any liberal friend
- 11:45Speaker 1: of yours say we're going to the Bad Bunny concert
- 11:48Speaker 1: though we're gonna see Bad Bunny in two weeks. They've
- 11:50Speaker 1: never heard of this guy ever, ever, ever, So uh, Mom,
- 11:56Speaker 1: Donnie went to Albany to ask for more taxes. It's
- 12:01Speaker 1: already the highest tax place in America. Taxes are already
- 12:04Speaker 1: out of control. He's asking for more taxes. Nobody can
- 12:07Speaker 1: figure out why. When asked, he gave some ridiculous explanation about, well,
- 12:13Speaker 1: we're already the most expensive place and might as well.
- 12:15Speaker 1: They can't figure out how to run things. You know,
- 12:19Speaker 1: we have the most out of controlled budget in New
- 12:22Speaker 1: York City and New York State. You know, the New
- 12:23Speaker 1: York state budget is double the budget of Florida. Double.
- 12:30Speaker 1: Florida is a bigger state, it has more major cities.
- 12:32Speaker 1: Our budget is double. Florida has a bigger population. Our
- 12:35Speaker 1: budget is twice the budget of Florida. New York studies
- 12:38Speaker 1: budget is like one hundred and twenty billion. It should
- 12:41Speaker 1: be forty billion. It's all waste, fraud, bloat. You could
- 12:45Speaker 1: easily cut it now, he implied yesterday, he's done some cutting.
- 12:48Speaker 1: We had a twelve billion dollar deficit coming up. We
- 12:51Speaker 1: have lowered that twelve billion dollar gap to seven billion
- 12:54Speaker 1: dollars over two fiscal years. Well that's a three billion
- 12:58Speaker 1: dollar cut every year. But again, you could cut half
- 13:02Speaker 1: the budget out without affecting anything. Just stop the waist,
- 13:06Speaker 1: the fraud, the bloat. It'd be very easy enough for
- 13:08Speaker 1: a guy like mom Donnie. I mean, in his defense,
- 13:11Speaker 1: he's thirty two years old, he never had a job before,
- 13:14Speaker 1: he's never worked, he's never run anything. But if you're
- 13:16Speaker 1: brought in a top ceo, if you brought the other thing,
- 13:20Speaker 1: you know, in New York City, you probably have the
- 13:23Speaker 1: two hundred greatest CEOs in America. They're all happy to help.
- 13:27Speaker 1: You know, if you call a guy like Jamie Diamond,
- 13:29Speaker 1: if you're in New York City, we need your help.
- 13:30Speaker 1: Could you come down to city. Guys like that would
- 13:33Speaker 1: come right down and help you. Be happy to help you.
- 13:36Speaker 1: If he said, you know, our budget's got all kinds
- 13:38Speaker 1: of waist and fraud and bloat. Could you take a
- 13:40Speaker 1: look at it. One of these CEOs would send in
- 13:42Speaker 1: a team the next day of twenty top guys in
- 13:45Speaker 1: the world to go through your budget and get rid
- 13:48Speaker 1: of the waist the fraud. It'd be easy to do,
- 13:50Speaker 1: but they're politicians. They're they're not going to they don't
- 13:55Speaker 1: want any help. They kind of like that wasist and
- 13:57Speaker 1: fraud and bloat. You know, guys like Schumer and Mom Donnie,
- 14:01Speaker 1: all these politicians, and they are Republicans too, they can be
- 14:03Speaker 1: just as bad. These The waste, fraud and bloat comes
- 14:06Speaker 1: out comes from giving out contracts everywhere and kind of
- 14:10Speaker 1: winking and nodding. You know you're gonna overcharge us by
- 14:12Speaker 1: three thousand percent. Go ahead, when you're fixing the road
- 14:16Speaker 1: or whatever, you want to take five years longer. Go ahead,
- 14:19Speaker 1: you want to put three times as many peopil as
- 14:22Speaker 1: you need to go ahead. A lot of winking and nodding.
- 14:25Speaker 1: Contracts are handed out, and in exchange the politicians get
- 14:29Speaker 1: massive donations when they want to run for something or
- 14:33Speaker 1: when they got those political packs. So that's always the deal.
- 14:36Speaker 1: We'll get to Pam Bondi coming up. That was pretty good,
- 14:40Speaker 1: and lots more just ahead, and uh oh, Jimmy Fayla
- 14:45Speaker 1: will be with us a little later. We'll get to
- 14:47Speaker 1: the economy just ahead. We'll take some calls next. Eight
- 14:50Speaker 1: hundred three two one zero seven ten is the number.
- 14:54Speaker 1: Eight hundred three two one zero seven ten
