- 2:01SPEAKER_02: It's just easy.
- 2:03SPEAKER_02: Uh actually, I Oh, it's all about Jeffrey.
- 2:06SPEAKER_02: Actually, I do like both this band and the uh guest artist that's on there with them.

- 2:24SPEAKER_02: Actually, it would be one of our songs that is not out yet.
- 2:28SPEAKER_02: Oh one that we haven't yet to record.
- 2:30SPEAKER_06: Right.
- 2:30SPEAKER_06: On the forthcoming album.
- 2:32SPEAKER_06: Right.
- 2:32SPEAKER_06: Whenever that will be.
- 2:33SPEAKER_06: Right.

- 2:40SPEAKER_02: Uh oh, that's live.
- 2:42SPEAKER_02: I do I want the live one?
- 2:44SPEAKER_02: No, I want this one right here.
- 2:45SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 2:46SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 2:46SPEAKER_02: Are we ready?
- 2:47SPEAKER_02: Let's just check this out.
- 2:48SPEAKER_02: This is Blackberry Smoke.
- 2:51SPEAKER_02: Kind of a uh country rock, southern rock.
- 2:56SPEAKER_06: Have we listened to them before?
- 2:57SPEAKER_02: We have.
- 2:57SPEAKER_02: Okay, I think we have.
- 2:59SPEAKER_02: Uh uh Shane actually was a big fan of them.
- 3:02SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 3:02SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 3:03SPEAKER_02: Uh, but this is with Amanda Shires, who is the ex-wife of Jason Isbell.
- 3:08SPEAKER_02: Uh great performer.
- 3:10SPEAKER_02: And she's she's a great um not only singer, but fiddle player.
- 3:15SPEAKER_02: So this is this is Let Me Down Easy.
- 3:17SPEAKER_06: All right.
- 3:17SPEAKER_02: Uh we do have a song.
- 3:18SPEAKER_02: We do have a song called Let Me Down Easy.
- 3:20SPEAKER_02: Um let me let me turn this off.
- 3:23SPEAKER_02: And let's get past this political ad.
- 3:26SPEAKER_02: Here we go.
- 3:27SPEAKER_02: I don't know why it's halfway already playing 30 seconds in.
- 3:30SPEAKER_02: I didn't listen to it.
- 3:31SPEAKER_02: Here we go.
- 4:39SPEAKER_02: Okay, let me say a couple things about this.
- 4:42SPEAKER_02: Uh number one, I really like it.
- 4:44SPEAKER_02: That's good.
- 4:45SPEAKER_02: Um it actually sounds like something common crossing would do.
- 4:49SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 4:49SPEAKER_02: Doesn't it?
- 4:50SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it does.
- 4:50SPEAKER_02: A little bit.
- 4:51SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 4:51SPEAKER_06: Um country five, but yeah.
- 4:54SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 4:55SPEAKER_02: I should say this is old.
- 4:57SPEAKER_02: Oh, is it?
- 4:58SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 4:58SPEAKER_02: Uh it must just be something that he's been listening to because this was posted on YouTube eight years ago.
- 5:03SPEAKER_02: Oh, okay.
- 5:03SPEAKER_02: So at the time she was she was either still married to Jason Isbell or was about to get married to Jason Isbell.
- 5:09SPEAKER_06: Ah, okay.
- 5:11SPEAKER_02: Um good stuff though.
- 5:13SPEAKER_02: I mean, just laid back vibes and great harmonies and let me down easy.
- 5:19SPEAKER_02: Um Dare I?
- 5:22SPEAKER_02: Dare I?
- 5:23SPEAKER_02: I wonder if uh Kariani's actually Yeah, no, he probably has, right?
- 5:26SPEAKER_02: Because he's been listening to the podcast, and I know that we've I know that we've shared some of these.
- 5:32SPEAKER_16: This is called Let Me Down Easy.
- 5:35SPEAKER_02: Ha ha.
- 5:36SPEAKER_02: This is at a kitchen table.
- 5:38SPEAKER_13: If you're gonna let me down, let me down easy.
- 5:45SPEAKER_13: It's the only way that I'll survive.
- 5:48SPEAKER_06: I really do want to make this album.
- 5:50SPEAKER_06: I know, man.
- 5:50SPEAKER_06: Oh man, I got so much good stuff right now.
- 5:54SPEAKER_13: You don't need me.
- 5:57SPEAKER_13: You don't need to drop the night.
- 6:44SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I yeah.
- 6:45SPEAKER_02: I uh we gotta record.
- 6:46SPEAKER_06: I like ours better.
- 6:47SPEAKER_02: I do too.
- 6:49SPEAKER_02: I do.
- 6:49SPEAKER_02: I do like the blackberry smoke.
- 6:51SPEAKER_02: Let me down easy, but this is yeah.
- 6:53SPEAKER_06: I'm but I'm being biased.
- 6:54SPEAKER_06: I'm partial.
- 6:55SPEAKER_02: I'm partial to very partial to ours.
- 6:58SPEAKER_02: Um we g we have a gig.
- 7:01SPEAKER_02: Full band.
- 7:03SPEAKER_02: Oh yeah.
- 7:04SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 7:04SPEAKER_02: This is kind of neat.
- 7:06SPEAKER_02: Um so we used to play the full band before Josh and with Josh, or no, it was never before Josh.
- 7:15SPEAKER_02: What?
- 7:15SPEAKER_02: That we played Deans.
- 7:16SPEAKER_02: Oh, we we played with Josh.
- 7:18SPEAKER_02: Remember?
- 7:19SPEAKER_02: I'm saying before Josh.
- 7:20SPEAKER_02: Did we play with Dean at Dean's before we had Josh?
- 7:23SPEAKER_02: I don't think we did.
- 7:24SPEAKER_06: I don't remember.
- 7:26SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I think I think we've always had Josh when we played Deans.
- 7:30SPEAKER_02: Anyway.
- 7:30SPEAKER_06: Well, it was funny because he was 16 at the time and it was a 21 and over place.
- 7:35SPEAKER_06: Right.
- 7:35SPEAKER_02: So Yeah, we did that a couple times actually.
- 7:38SPEAKER_06: Well, I did we did more than a couple.
- 7:40SPEAKER_02: Uh let's see.
- 7:42SPEAKER_02: So we had so and we anyway, the band used to play, full band, big speakers, loud guitars, um, up at Dean's Motor Lodge, and always had a good time.
- 7:52SPEAKER_02: Small place, great crowd.
- 7:53SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 7:54SPEAKER_02: Um so we had one of the old crew.
- 8:00SPEAKER_02: When I say crew, I mean people that come to came to see us, yeah, reach out to us and said, uh, listen, crazy question here, but do you do any common crossing gigs?
- 8:09SPEAKER_02: My wife uh used to love listening to you guys at Dean's, and well, she turns fifty in September, and I'd love to hire you guys if that's something you do.
- 8:17SPEAKER_02: Oh, I maybe this is a surprise.
- 8:18SPEAKER_02: Maybe I shouldn't say anything.
- 8:20SPEAKER_06: Well, he would have said something, I would imagine.
- 8:22SPEAKER_02: Well, he did.
- 8:24SPEAKER_02: In the last message.
- 8:25SPEAKER_02: Did you read the last message?
- 8:26SPEAKER_02: No, I I am making arrangements for the upstairs.
- 8:29SPEAKER_02: This is crazy.
- 8:29SPEAKER_02: This will be an amazing surprise.
- 8:31SPEAKER_02: Oh, it is a surprise.
- 8:32SPEAKER_02: Maybe I shouldn't say anything.
- 8:33SPEAKER_02: Uh so I'll stop right there.
- 8:34SPEAKER_02: Um anyway, the band is in.
- 8:38SPEAKER_02: We're we're gonna we're gonna play.
- 8:39SPEAKER_02: It's not till September.
- 8:40SPEAKER_02: It's not until September September.
- 8:42SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 8:42SPEAKER_02: Uh we're gonna do like a uh two hour.
- 8:46SPEAKER_02: Which is fine.
- 8:47SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 8:47SPEAKER_02: We're getting too old for cigarettes.
- 8:49SPEAKER_02: We are uh but we're gonna it'll be mostly acoustic.
- 8:52SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that's fine.
- 8:53SPEAKER_02: Um and but we're gonna do our old shtick, you know, the songs that they they they loved.
- 8:58SPEAKER_02: And yeah.
- 8:59SPEAKER_02: Um yeah, no, I I think it'll be fun.
- 9:01SPEAKER_02: Um, I know it's gonna be fun, man.
- 9:03SPEAKER_02: I uh I had to correct uh our bass player.
- 9:06SPEAKER_02: I don't know if you saw that.
- 9:07SPEAKER_02: He's like, I want to learn some new songs for this.
- 9:09SPEAKER_02: And I'm like, well, the reason they're hiring us is because they want the old songs.
- 9:15SPEAKER_06: You gotta read.
- 9:16SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 9:17SPEAKER_02: It's all about reading comprehension.
- 9:19SPEAKER_02: I get it though.
- 9:19SPEAKER_02: I mean, I I would like to, I mean, if we were gigging, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 9:23SPEAKER_02: I would want to learn.
- 9:24SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 9:24SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 9:25SPEAKER_02: Um so yeah it's only two hours.
- 9:27SPEAKER_02: I mean, it's uh yeah, yeah.
- 9:29SPEAKER_02: So I I think it's gonna be fun.
- 9:31SPEAKER_02: I I'm I'm gonna be great.
- 9:32SPEAKER_02: Looking forward to it.
- 9:33SPEAKER_06: Uh we haven't played as a band for few years now, so well, a lot of years, like six, seven?
- 9:39SPEAKER_06: Like four.
- 9:40SPEAKER_06: Well, I mean we uh Well the Turnbills uh Josh's Josh Turnbull's wedding.
- 9:45SPEAKER_06: Yeah, I suppose.
- 9:46SPEAKER_06: That was like four years ago.
- 9:47SPEAKER_02: That's true.
- 9:47SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I suppose.
- 9:49SPEAKER_02: I don't know if I consider that a gig.
- 9:50SPEAKER_02: It was a gig, but it was.
- 9:52SPEAKER_06: Yeah, yeah.
- 9:52SPEAKER_06: There was instruments and we played it and there were people.
- 9:55SPEAKER_06: Shosh, you know what I mean.
- 9:57SPEAKER_06: And we got money.
- 9:58SPEAKER_02: Or do you know what I mean?
- 9:59SPEAKER_02: I don't know if you know what I mean.
- 9:59SPEAKER_02: I don't know what you mean.
- 10:00SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 10:01SPEAKER_02: Uh what do you mean?
- 10:03SPEAKER_02: Wait, so I haven't seen you since Tuesday?
- 10:08SPEAKER_02: Right?
- 10:08SPEAKER_02: No, the gig Friday.
- 10:09SPEAKER_02: Oh, okay.
- 10:10SPEAKER_02: So I told you about uh Finn.
- 10:12SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 10:12SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 10:14SPEAKER_02: So Finn got in an accident.
- 10:16SPEAKER_02: Um he's okay, everybody's okay.
- 10:18SPEAKER_02: Um Did you notice how I'm jumping around now?
- 10:21SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I don't know why.
- 10:22SPEAKER_02: I don't know either.
- 10:23SPEAKER_02: I just I I forgot that I told you because I'm old.
- 10:26SPEAKER_02: And uh Who were you?
- 10:28SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I I forgot that I told you.
- 10:29SPEAKER_02: Where am I?
- 10:30SPEAKER_02: We could talk about the gig though.
- 10:31SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 10:32SPEAKER_02: Uh because we played a new place, uh Bastion's Tavern in Holton.
- 10:37SPEAKER_02: And I uh it's it's like uh Sizzle and Slice.
- 10:40SPEAKER_02: I I can't really I can't really cast a not judgment ball.
- 10:46SPEAKER_06: Well I think we got a better reception at Bastion's than we did at Sizzle and Slice.
- 10:50SPEAKER_02: I do too.
- 10:51SPEAKER_02: Sizzle and Slice nobody really acknowledged us, except for that a couple of people.
- 10:55SPEAKER_02: Except for the salt dancers.
- 10:56SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 10:57SPEAKER_02: Um But the crowd at Bastion's was was quite a bit younger.
- 11:02SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 11:03SPEAKER_02: Um and more of a bar.
- 11:05SPEAKER_02: It was it is a bar.
- 11:06SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that's all.
- 11:06SPEAKER_06: It's more of a bar.
- 11:07SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 11:08SPEAKER_06: Um and I was thinking it was more like the down under before we got there, but when I got there, I was like, oh there's yeah, there's no food.
- 11:13SPEAKER_02: There's no food.
- 11:13SPEAKER_02: It's just a bar.
- 11:14SPEAKER_06: There's just bar and pool tables.
- 11:15SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 11:16SPEAKER_02: So um and I think they liked us.
- 11:20SPEAKER_06: I mean, I I mean I didn't I didn't get the impression that anybody was like annoyed with us.
- 11:26SPEAKER_06: Right.
- 11:27SPEAKER_06: So I I take I I call that a win.
- 11:29SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 11:29SPEAKER_02: So Yeah.
- 11:30SPEAKER_02: I I would play I would give it another chance.
- 11:33SPEAKER_02: I would play there.
- 11:33SPEAKER_06: Yeah, I mean, why not?
- 11:34SPEAKER_06: You know, I'm I mean I don't think it's gonna be anytime soon, but no, I don't either.
- 11:38SPEAKER_06: But that's fine.
- 11:39SPEAKER_02: Because we're you know, after our next gig at Sizzle and Slice, we're done for the summer.
- 11:43SPEAKER_06: For the summer, yeah.
- 11:44SPEAKER_02: So um yeah, so that gig went pretty well.
- 11:46SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 11:47SPEAKER_02: Um what else?
- 11:48SPEAKER_02: What else is going on?
- 11:49SPEAKER_02: Anything?
- 11:49SPEAKER_02: How was school?
- 11:50SPEAKER_06: Well, how'd the fuck dynasty gig go?
- 11:53SPEAKER_02: Uh very well.
- 11:54SPEAKER_02: Good.
- 11:55SPEAKER_02: Very well.
- 11:56SPEAKER_02: We had uh a bunch of people and and and let's see, mm a bunch of the old crowd that used to come to see.
- 12:04SPEAKER_06: Well, uh the average age is like ninety.
- 12:05SPEAKER_02: Well print pretty much.
- 12:06SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 12:07SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 12:08SPEAKER_02: Um but we raised uh twenty five hundred bucks.
- 12:12SPEAKER_02: Good.
- 12:12SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 12:13SPEAKER_02: Excellent.
- 12:13SPEAKER_02: So um yeah, it was and it was a good time.
- 12:17SPEAKER_02: That's it's uh I enjoy playing them with those guys.
- 12:19SPEAKER_02: You know, the last time we pl uh we played together was at the VFW last year.
- 12:23SPEAKER_06: I was about to say it was wasn't it another Buck Dynasty gig gig?
- 12:26SPEAKER_02: I think it was like in the fall.
- 12:27SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 12:28SPEAKER_02: Uh and and you know, it's like you like October, wasn't it?
- 12:30SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 12:31SPEAKER_02: It's like you and I uh we don't rehearse.
- 12:34SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 12:34SPEAKER_02: Uh Common Crossing uh Common Crossing rehearsed, but not very often.
- 12:39SPEAKER_06: Um we used to back in the early Every Monday night, rain or shine, snow or slea to freezing rain.
- 12:46SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 12:47SPEAKER_06: The songs must go through.
- 12:49SPEAKER_02: I was I was driving by that uh when I dropped you off Friday.
- 12:54SPEAKER_02: I drove by the Blaine, obviously the Blaine uh you know what it what is it the Grange Hall Grange Hall.
- 13:00SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 13:01SPEAKER_02: And just you know, all kinds of memories.
- 13:03SPEAKER_06: Yeah, it's basically condemned now.
- 13:05SPEAKER_02: Is it condemned?
- 13:06SPEAKER_06: Well, I don't I don't think it's condemned, but it's the floors are so warped in there you can't really they don't use it for anything.
- 13:11SPEAKER_06: No, I haven't seen anybody in there in years.
- 13:14SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 13:14SPEAKER_06: I mean if we if we wanted to, we could probably have it for a song.
- 13:18SPEAKER_02: Like like like buy it.
- 13:20SPEAKER_02: Really?
- 13:21SPEAKER_06: I I would imagine.
- 13:22SPEAKER_06: I mean, it it's just sitting there, nobody's doing anything.
- 13:25SPEAKER_06: I mean, we'd have to like fix it up, renovate it, like and that would be like a lot.
- 13:30SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 13:31SPEAKER_06: But I mean we could turn that into a really cool like rehearsal slash gig place.
- 13:36SPEAKER_06: That's a that's a thought.
- 13:38SPEAKER_06: That's an idea.
- 13:40SPEAKER_06: That's an idea.
- 13:41SPEAKER_02: They they wouldn't sell it to us for that.
- 13:43SPEAKER_06: I doubt it.
- 13:43SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 13:44SPEAKER_06: But I mean, you know, maybe maybe, you know, maybe we would be like, hey, I'll give you a dollar.
- 13:50SPEAKER_02: I'll buy that for a dollar.
- 13:52SPEAKER_02: I'll buy that for a dollar.
- 13:53SPEAKER_02: That would be fun.
- 13:54SPEAKER_02: That would be that would be interesting.
- 13:56SPEAKER_06: Well, I mean, I'm always playing with my my thought of opening a uh blues cigar bar.
- 14:01SPEAKER_06: Oh wow.
- 14:02SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 14:03SPEAKER_06: I think that would be awesome.
- 14:04SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 14:05SPEAKER_06: Just play blue blues music and sell, you know, high quality cigars.
- 14:09SPEAKER_06: That'd be like a smoke shop, right?
- 14:11SPEAKER_06: No, no, cigar bar.
- 14:13SPEAKER_06: You you get a cigar and you sit in there.
- 14:15SPEAKER_06: Well, I mean, you gotta have ventilation and everything like that, so it's not like choking people out, but it it would it would be expensive, but that's like my dream thing.
- 14:25SPEAKER_02: To have a blues cigar bar?
- 14:28SPEAKER_02: And you never told me that before.
- 14:30SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 14:30SPEAKER_06: I I don't nobody ever asked me about my dreams.
- 14:36SPEAKER_06: They're just like, ah, it's Doug, he doesn't have any dreams.
- 14:40SPEAKER_06: That guy's going nowhere.
- 14:44SPEAKER_06: No, I he just he just plays his drums and sings his songs and he he hangs out and he you know, teaches kids wrong answers, and you know, he just he just what a loser.
- 14:57SPEAKER_06: No, I just he just has no ambition in life.
- 15:00SPEAKER_06: You just named the podcast.
- 15:01SPEAKER_06: He's just he just he's dead end Doug.

- 15:26SPEAKER_06: I think it would be awesome, man.
- 15:28SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I do you think it'd go over up here?
- 15:30SPEAKER_02: No.
- 15:30SPEAKER_02: No, but it would just be for us.
- 15:32SPEAKER_06: Well, I mean, I would I mean it's hard to find people that l enjoy blues music and cigars.
- 15:40SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 15:41SPEAKER_06: Of course you gotta you gotta have an open, you gotta have a bar or two, you gotta serve yeah whiskeys and whatever like that you do.
- 15:47SPEAKER_06: You know, so I mean there's a lot to go into it.
- 15:50SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 15:50SPEAKER_06: You know, I've I've thought about asking Chat GPT, you know, what it would take to, you know, open a cigar bar or lounge or whatever they call it.
- 16:00SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 16:00SPEAKER_06: But I think it'd just be it'd be something different.
- 16:02SPEAKER_02: It would be.
- 16:03SPEAKER_06: You know what I mean?
- 16:04SPEAKER_02: It would be, yeah.
- 16:05SPEAKER_06: I mean nobody you can't you you can't bring cigarettes in or you know, the jazz cigarettes.

- 16:23SPEAKER_06: Yeah, I mean, I mean, we're talking blues, baby.
- 16:25SPEAKER_06: We're talking Robert Johnson.
- 16:26SPEAKER_06: We're talking to have like live performers?
- 16:29SPEAKER_06: I didn't thought about it, but we could.
- 16:31SPEAKER_06: I think that would be I think that would add a nice because I mean you're not you're not looking to, you know, you're not looking to have like a dance party.
- 16:38SPEAKER_02: Right, right, right.
- 16:39SPEAKER_06: It's just everybody sitting around smoking cigars, drinking whiskey or whatever, listening to awesome music.
- 16:46SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 16:47SPEAKER_02: No, that's cool.
- 16:48SPEAKER_02: That's uh that's like my dream, man.
- 16:50SPEAKER_06: I would I would love to do that.
- 16:51SPEAKER_02: What would you call it?
- 16:52SPEAKER_06: No idea.
- 16:53SPEAKER_06: I don't know.
- 16:53SPEAKER_06: I hadn't thought of that for Dead End Doug's place or something.
- 16:57SPEAKER_02: Some some sort of this would be a juke joint.
- 17:00SPEAKER_02: Wouldn't be a juke joint though.
- 17:02SPEAKER_02: Because it's a cigar bar.
- 17:03SPEAKER_02: It would be like uh I don't know.
- 17:12SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 17:13SPEAKER_06: I don't either.
- 17:14SPEAKER_06: That's something to think about though.
- 17:15SPEAKER_06: That's yeah, I mean, I'm I I'm hoping because you know, we're always like somebody says something or we see something, we're all like, oh, that'd be a great album name, or that'd be a great song name.
- 17:23SPEAKER_06: Right, right.
- 17:24SPEAKER_06: I'm waiting for that to happen when I go, oh, that's my bar's name.

- 17:40SPEAKER_02: Well what if you did something like uh um well you just call it like the crossroads or or or the deal.
- 17:50SPEAKER_06: You know, or I I would like to center it around the the the Robert Johnson legend.
- 17:55SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 17:55SPEAKER_06: I think that would be cool.
- 17:56SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 17:57SPEAKER_02: But yeah, yeah, don't c use crossroads, yeah.
- 17:59SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 18:00SPEAKER_06: I mean it's kind of over overdone a little bit.
- 18:03SPEAKER_06: A little bit.
- 18:04SPEAKER_06: But you know, I think that would be cool.
- 18:06SPEAKER_06: Or something something blues related.
- 18:08SPEAKER_06: Oh.
- 18:09SPEAKER_06: You know?
- 18:10SPEAKER_02: Yeah, no, that that's that's food for thought, man.
- 18:13SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 18:13SPEAKER_02: I'm uh yeah, I mean I'm intrigued.
- 18:15SPEAKER_06: I mean You know, when this podcast gets big and we start making like Joe Rogan money, that's what I'm gonna do with my share.

- 25:18SPEAKER_14: I know.
- 25:19SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 25:19SPEAKER_14: And it doesn't even sound like a woman.
- 25:22SPEAKER_14: Is this a duet?
- 25:28SPEAKER_02: Let's just listen for a second.
- 25:29SPEAKER_02: It's not listed as a duet, but I I I'm willing to bet.
- 25:33SPEAKER_10: Maybe it's me.
- 25:35SPEAKER_02: There's a either a duet or there's a woman.
- 25:37SPEAKER_02: Seems like a like a backup.
- 25:39SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 25:40SPEAKER_10: I can't understand why.
- 25:45SPEAKER_15: Just so baby deep.
- 25:46SPEAKER_10: All these lovers keep hurting each other.
- 25:51SPEAKER_10: When good is hard to come by.
- 26:03SPEAKER_14: Yep, this is it.
- 26:04SPEAKER_10: Yep, right here.
- 26:09SPEAKER_02: I don't know why I'm taking as a woman, but I don't know.

- 26:14SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 26:22SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 26:22SPEAKER_02: Well, now with now that we got to the bottom of that.
- 26:26SPEAKER_02: I just find it funny that we just go off on these tangents.
- 26:30SPEAKER_02: Hey, great.
- 26:30SPEAKER_02: Good job, Scooby.
- 26:32SPEAKER_14: Hey, Finn had an accident.
- 26:34SPEAKER_14: I don't know.
- 26:35SPEAKER_14: And now we're at.
- 26:36SPEAKER_06: Doesn't anybody stay together anymore?
- 26:38SPEAKER_06: I don't know.
- 26:38SPEAKER_14: I don't know why you're telling me this.
- 26:40SPEAKER_06: This is like a game of telephone.
- 26:41SPEAKER_06: I went horribly, horribly wrong.
- 26:45SPEAKER_10: It's so true.
- 26:46SPEAKER_04: Hey, hey, Finn got an accident.

- 26:52SPEAKER_04: Hey, we need a sugar daddy.
- 26:53SPEAKER_04: Michael Martin Murray.
- 26:54SPEAKER_04: Doesn't anybody stay together anymore?
- 27:01SPEAKER_04: Are you people on crack?
- 27:05SPEAKER_04: This is the worst game of telephone ever.
- 27:08SPEAKER_04: This is awful.
- 27:10SPEAKER_04: This is like almost telephone.
- 27:13SPEAKER_16: Oh my goodness, that makes me laugh.
- 27:16SPEAKER_04: Man, this is just bad, man.
- 27:18SPEAKER_04: How long have we been going?
- 27:20SPEAKER_04: Like 20 minutes, maybe?
- 27:21SPEAKER_04: 15 minutes?
- 27:22SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 27:22SPEAKER_04: This is we've covered like half a dozen topics.
- 27:26SPEAKER_04: But isn't that every podcast episode?
- 27:28SPEAKER_04: Yeah, but this this one was really off the rails.
- 27:31SPEAKER_06: You know what I mean?
- 27:32SPEAKER_06: It's like this is like Space Mountain went off the track and you know ended up in Epcot.
- 27:37SPEAKER_06: You know what I mean?
- 27:38SPEAKER_06: This is just like, what is happening?
- 27:42SPEAKER_16: Oh my goodness.
- 27:44SPEAKER_16: Should we get to some music news?
- 27:46SPEAKER_16: Bill Collins.
- 27:47SPEAKER_16: No, Michael Martin Murphy.
- 27:49SPEAKER_14: Michael Martin Murphy.
- 27:52SPEAKER_14: Dead end Doug.
- 27:54SPEAKER_14: Sugar daddy.
- 27:55SPEAKER_14: Sugar daddy.
- 27:56SPEAKER_06: Nobody believes my dreams.
- 27:57SPEAKER_04: Nobody cares about it.
- 27:58SPEAKER_04: Nobody cares about my dreams.
- 28:01SPEAKER_04: Doug sucks.
- 28:03SPEAKER_06: Here's one for Sadler and Waldorf.
- 28:05SPEAKER_06: Two poop on.
- 28:06SPEAKER_06: Yeah, they're about to say that's how it's started.
- 28:08SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 28:09SPEAKER_06: Man, what a weird, what a weird 15 minutes has been.
- 28:12SPEAKER_06: Oh man.
- 28:13SPEAKER_06: The Grateful Dead were right.
- 28:15SPEAKER_06: What a long, strange trip it's been.
- 28:17SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 28:18SPEAKER_06: And it hasn't even been long.
- 28:20SPEAKER_06: Board trip.
- 28:22SPEAKER_02: Let's see.
- 28:24SPEAKER_06: So weird.
- 28:24SPEAKER_02: Do you want to hear new new music?
- 28:26SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 28:27SPEAKER_02: Let's get back to some sort of focus.
- 28:29SPEAKER_02: I only have one.
- 28:30SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 28:32SPEAKER_02: It's from Sir Paul's latest album.
- 28:34SPEAKER_02: Sir Paul.
- 28:35SPEAKER_02: Hey, and it's Ringo.
- 28:36SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 28:38SPEAKER_02: He's released a new song with Ringo.
- 28:41SPEAKER_02: Called Home to Us.
- 28:42SPEAKER_02: First time the two Beatles have ever made a proper duet.
- 28:46SPEAKER_02: Did you know that?
- 28:48SPEAKER_06: Uh yeah, because I mean, before they just played as the Beatles.
- 28:53SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 28:54SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 28:55SPEAKER_02: So they've never done that.
- 28:57SPEAKER_02: Is Ringo actually singing on this?
- 28:58SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I believe so.
- 28:59SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 28:59SPEAKER_02: So it says it's from McCartney's upcoming album, The Boys of Dungeon Lane.
- 29:04SPEAKER_02: Comes out May 29th.
- 29:07SPEAKER_02: According to McCartney, Home to Us was written specifically with Ringo in mind.
- 29:12SPEAKER_02: At first he he invited him to play drums on some other material, but after discussing with producer Andrew Watt, a whole new song was created about the two former Beatles upbringing in working class Liverpool.
- 29:26SPEAKER_02: So he said I rang him, and he said he thought I only wanted him to sing one or two lines, and I said I'd love to hear him sing the whole thing.
- 29:33SPEAKER_02: So we took my first line, Ringo's second line, and then we had a duet.
- 29:37SPEAKER_02: We'd never done that before.
- 29:38SPEAKER_02: Then we wanted some backing vocals, and I had the idea it'd be nice to hear girls.
- 29:42SPEAKER_02: Christy Hind of the Pretenders said she'd do it, and Charlene Spitieri, their mates, so they did it.
- 29:48SPEAKER_02: So let's hear.
- 29:50SPEAKER_02: This is from McCartney's latest album, which comes out at the end of the month.
- 29:54SPEAKER_02: This is Paul McCartney and Ringo Star Home to Us.
- 30:00SPEAKER_02: Let's see what this sounds like.
- 31:22SPEAKER_02: They're only remaining members left of the most iconic band in music history.
- 31:27SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 31:28SPEAKER_02: And this is their first duet, and it's pretty cool.
- 31:32SPEAKER_02: Pretty great.
- 31:32SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 31:33SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 31:34SPEAKER_02: And it's just them reminiscing about their childhood.
- 31:37SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 31:38SPEAKER_06: Which I basically is basically the whole theme of the album.
- 31:41SPEAKER_06: Yeah, yeah.
- 31:58SPEAKER_06: I dig it.
- 32:02SPEAKER_06: Yeah, they never they've never sung like like this.
- 32:06SPEAKER_06: Like this before.
- 32:07SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 32:07SPEAKER_06: It's usually like Paul singing and Ringos in the background, or Ringo sting and Paul's in the background.
- 32:14SPEAKER_06: You know.
- 32:14SPEAKER_06: Right.
- 32:15SPEAKER_06: There's no training of lines or anything like that.
- 32:17SPEAKER_06: So this is awesome.
- 32:18SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 32:22SPEAKER_02: Somebody tells me that's Paul on guitar, too.
- 32:25SPEAKER_02: Oh yeah, I would almost guarantee it.
- 32:30SPEAKER_02: Have you so and you know, I saw a video of him singing just him, Paul.
- 32:36SPEAKER_02: And his voice is cracking a little bit.
- 32:38SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 32:39SPEAKER_16: I mean, he is.
- 32:40SPEAKER_16: I mean he's 80 something.
- 32:41SPEAKER_16: Yeah.
- 32:42SPEAKER_02: So it was this was the first time that that it kind of showed itself.
- 32:47SPEAKER_03: Oh yeah.
- 32:48SPEAKER_02: You know, because he's been going non-stop for how many years now?
- 32:52SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 32:53SPEAKER_02: And almost looks unstoppable.
- 32:55SPEAKER_02: This was the first time I'd seen some wear.
- 32:58SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 32:58SPEAKER_02: You know, in his voice, which is totally understandable.
- 33:02SPEAKER_06: Like 60 years.
- 33:03SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 33:03SPEAKER_06: You know what I mean?
- 33:04SPEAKER_06: So.
- 33:05SPEAKER_02: Well, I dig this song.
- 33:07SPEAKER_02: I like it a lot.
- 33:08SPEAKER_02: Yeah, me too.
- 33:09SPEAKER_02: And and I'm probably gonna pick up that album, of course.
- 33:12SPEAKER_02: Although, I was thinking about this the other day.
- 33:16SPEAKER_02: Whoa, why the heck are we I mean I know why.
- 33:23SPEAKER_02: But I was gonna say, why are we still buying albums when And here's what I mean.
- 33:32SPEAKER_02: So I have I have this uh subscription to uh Spotify.
- 33:37SPEAKER_02: I always said I would never gonna I was never gonna do it.
- 33:39SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 33:40SPEAKER_02: Um I had like the free version of Spotify with the commercials and everything.
- 33:45SPEAKER_02: And so now I have the I have the three-month um trial and then I just let it keep going.
- 33:53SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 33:54SPEAKER_02: Um like when Vince Gill came out with a new album, it's on Spotify.
- 34:00SPEAKER_02: Yeah and I can listen to it.
- 34:04SPEAKER_02: I would still buy it if it was available in the store, you know, to have.
- 34:09SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 34:10SPEAKER_02: I don't listen to CDs anymore.
- 34:13SPEAKER_02: I have them.
- 34:14SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 34:14SPEAKER_02: I have a bunch of vin vinyl.
- 34:16SPEAKER_02: It's very rare that I get the chance to come down here and slap a record on.
- 34:19SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 34:20SPEAKER_02: I mean, I I there will be a day when I'm sl when I slow down and maybe in a blue cigar bar, just put a record on.
- 34:28SPEAKER_06: Yeah, just bring your just bring everything here.
- 34:30SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 34:31SPEAKER_06: We'll play it at the bar.
- 34:32SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 34:32SPEAKER_02: And just just slap a record on and just chill.
- 34:36SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 34:36SPEAKER_02: There will come a time.
- 34:37SPEAKER_02: Just that's why I have all these books.
- 34:39SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 34:39SPEAKER_02: You know, because I'm gonna read all those.
- 34:41SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
- 34:41SPEAKER_02: And I have all this vinyl, I'm gonna listen to them all.
- 34:45SPEAKER_02: Um and uh so I was thinking about like well, like this.
- 34:51SPEAKER_02: I I probably will buy this album just because it's the right thing to do.
- 34:55SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 34:55SPEAKER_02: Uh but it'll be available on Spotify and you can listen to it anytime you want.
- 35:01SPEAKER_02: Uh not that that's a good thing, because it's destroying the music industry.
- 35:05SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 35:06SPEAKER_02: Um, but as a music fan and a you know, just I mean I mean it's kind of cool that if I want to listen to it before I buy it, maybe I can.
- 35:17SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 35:18SPEAKER_02: Um it's just it's just backwards.
- 35:20SPEAKER_02: It's just it used to be you'd have to buy the album and you know, complain that there's only two good songs on it.
- 35:29SPEAKER_02: But you still had the album.
- 35:30SPEAKER_06: You still had to buy the whole album.
- 35:31SPEAKER_06: Right.
- 35:32SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 35:32SPEAKER_02: And you still had it.
- 35:33SPEAKER_02: I mean, I have that album, right?
- 35:35SPEAKER_02: So uh I like a few songs on it.
- 35:38SPEAKER_02: Uh, but I I I put down my money and I bought that album.
- 35:42SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 35:43SPEAKER_02: And now it's backwards.
- 35:44SPEAKER_02: It's like, I'm gonna listen to all those songs.
- 35:46SPEAKER_02: Well, I only really like this one, so I'm gonna download it.
- 35:49SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 35:50SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna buy that for a dollar or two dollars or whatever it is.
- 35:52SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 35:53SPEAKER_02: Um, it's just it's completely reversed as to what it used to be.
- 35:58SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 35:58SPEAKER_02: Which, in my opinion, i has destroyed.
- 36:01SPEAKER_02: Well, i oh well, there are benefits to it.
- 36:04SPEAKER_02: There there are pros and cons.
- 36:06SPEAKER_02: I think more cons, honestly, yeah, than there are pros.
- 36:10SPEAKER_02: Um I see the benefit.
- 36:12SPEAKER_02: You know, I can I can go on Spotify and I can dial up to anything I want.
- 36:17SPEAKER_02: It's usually there.
- 36:18SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 36:19SPEAKER_02: Um and I I don't necessarily I mean, I say I don't support Spotify, but I do, right?
- 36:28SPEAKER_02: Because I mean I have the You're paying for it.
- 36:30SPEAKER_02: I am paying for it.
- 36:30SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 36:31SPEAKER_02: And I always said I wouldn't.
- 36:33SPEAKER_02: Um that could change too.
- 36:35SPEAKER_02: I mean, I'm kind of a principled person.
- 36:39SPEAKER_06: But it's not like you're just getting music solely from Spotify.
- 36:43SPEAKER_02: Oh, that's true.
- 36:43SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 36:44SPEAKER_06: No, absolutely.
- 36:45SPEAKER_06: I mean, we're still buying albums because as musicians, we understand that that's the only way anybody makes money anymore.
- 36:51SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 36:51SPEAKER_02: Well, besides touring.
- 36:52SPEAKER_02: Actually, the the Buy and merch.
- 36:54SPEAKER_02: Buy and merch.
- 36:55SPEAKER_02: Those are merch and touring, those are really the only ways they're making money because they're not nobody's selling records anymore.
- 37:01SPEAKER_02: That's true, yeah.
- 37:02SPEAKER_02: So you know, uh, because of Spotify, because you know, of streaming services like that that pay diddly.
- 37:08SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 37:08SPEAKER_02: They can't make them they can't make money from selling their music, which is just criminal.
- 37:14SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 37:15SPEAKER_02: Um that would be, I mean, if I had to make an analogy.
- 37:18SPEAKER_02: I mean, what what kind of an analogy could we make there?
- 37:22SPEAKER_02: Like if a fisherman No, not a fisherman.
- 37:26SPEAKER_02: Well, let's let's say uh any kind of person that makes art.
- 37:33SPEAKER_02: Um so let's say uh person came you you hired a person to um paint a mural.
- 37:42SPEAKER_02: Uh no, I'm going down the wrong road here.
- 37:44SPEAKER_02: I'm that's a terrible I'm not sure where you're going.
- 37:46SPEAKER_02: That's a terrible analogy.
- 37:48SPEAKER_02: Um I guess what I'm saying is people just aren't getting paid for.
- 37:52SPEAKER_06: Well, no, nobody's getting paid for creating anything.
- 37:55SPEAKER_06: Right.
- 37:55SPEAKER_02: That's what I mean.
- 37:56SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 37:57SPEAKER_06: Let's say let's say you hired someone.
- 37:58SPEAKER_06: So somebody like somebody, you know, makes a masterpiece painting and you put it up in a, you know, a rest area on the I-95.
- 38:07SPEAKER_15: Right.
- 38:08SPEAKER_02: Or you know what I mean, or stick it on a, you know, or you know nail it to a tree alongside the road.
- 38:15SPEAKER_02: Let's see if this analogy uh works.
- 38:17SPEAKER_02: So uh I need a garage.
- 38:20SPEAKER_02: And I need someone who can build me a garage.
- 38:22SPEAKER_02: Design it and build it.
- 38:24SPEAKER_02: So I hire somebody and they design it and they build it.
- 38:27SPEAKER_02: And they d it do a good job, but you know what?
- 38:31SPEAKER_02: I know I you said fifty grand, but I think that's probably I'm gonna give you about ten.
- 38:38SPEAKER_02: Ten grand for that.
- 38:39SPEAKER_06: Yeah, and they gotta take it.
- 38:40SPEAKER_02: They gotta take it.
- 38:41SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 38:41SPEAKER_02: They have to.
- 38:42SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 38:42SPEAKER_06: They don't have a choice.
- 38:44SPEAKER_06: Right.
- 38:44SPEAKER_06: That's that's criminal. 'Cause everybody has that garage.
- 38:49SPEAKER_06: Right.
- 38:50SPEAKER_06: Ever everybody can use that garage.
- 38:51SPEAKER_06: Right.
- 38:52SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 38:53SPEAKER_02: It's not a great analogy, but you get the idea.
- 38:56SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 38:56SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 38:56SPEAKER_02: So I don't know.
- 38:58SPEAKER_02: Uh I I will buy this album.
- 39:00SPEAKER_02: I love Paul McCartney.
- 39:01SPEAKER_02: Um just the fact that it's about it, I mean, the fact of uh their age, right, you know, and and they're reflecting, and uh that to me is pretty cool.
- 39:12SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 39:13SPEAKER_02: And that cool that song is pretty cool.
- 39:15SPEAKER_02: It is very cool.
- 39:15SPEAKER_02: I probably will uh I probably will pick that up.
- 39:18SPEAKER_06: Heck yeah, man.
- 39:19SPEAKER_02: Um so the other piece of news uh that was that I found today.
- 39:27SPEAKER_02: Alex Van Halen.
- 39:29SPEAKER_02: This is uh at rockcelebrities.net.
- 39:31SPEAKER_02: Alex Van Halen reveals the final offer Eddie made to Michael Anthony before hiring his son Wolfgang to play bass ought to be good to play bass in uh in Van Halen.
- 39:42SPEAKER_02: Now everybody knows that actually not probably not everybody knows, but Michael Anthony signed away all his rights to the Van Halen name uh because they were uh like an entity.
- 39:55SPEAKER_02: It was all four of them.
- 39:56SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 39:57SPEAKER_02: And then when Sammy came, it was it was all four of them.
- 40:00SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 40:00SPEAKER_02: Um and he had rights to um marketing materials and and using the Van Halen name and you know they even w wasn't there talk of removing his picture from the albums?
- 40:16SPEAKER_02: Like the reissues?
- 40:17SPEAKER_02: They were gonna remove Michael Anthony's picture.
- 40:19SPEAKER_06: Yeah, something like that.
- 40:19SPEAKER_06: Yeah, like remove his you know images and stuff like that.
- 40:23SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 40:23SPEAKER_02: So apparently Alex Van Halen did an interview with Kaza Cazagasteo.
- 40:30SPEAKER_02: I don't know what that means, or who that is.
- 40:32SPEAKER_02: Um he's he explained the circumstances that led to Wolfgang joining the band.
- 40:36SPEAKER_02: Uh he said they did reach out to Mike Anthony first, and this is what he said quote Ed and I, as usual, were in the studio alone because nobody else tolerated it.
- 40:44SPEAKER_02: They'd rather be at the beach.
- 40:46SPEAKER_02: I've got news for you.
- 40:47SPEAKER_02: You've got to work for this spleep.
- 40:49SPEAKER_02: Nobody showed up, and one day Ed and I were playing, and his and this bass comes in and it had a nice feel to it.
- 40:56SPEAKER_02: And behind the curtain, it was Wolf.
- 40:58SPEAKER_02: For the record, we did call Mike because we owed him that.
- 41:01SPEAKER_02: We did call him and he just didn't answer.
- 41:05SPEAKER_02: Uh he said he praised Wolfgang's independence and career choices following his time with Van Halen.
- 41:10SPEAKER_02: Wolf's very careful that he doesn't want to be Ed Jr.
- 41:13SPEAKER_02: He was in a very tough spot, meaning he could have just continued with the Van Halen stuff, but he decided he was his own man.
- 41:18SPEAKER_02: Everything that he's done, I'm very proud of him.
- 41:20SPEAKER_02: By the way, that's probably not the thing the right thing to say about an adult.
- 41:23SPEAKER_02: He's 35 years old.
- 41:25SPEAKER_02: You shouldn't be proud of an adult, right?
- 41:26SPEAKER_02: That's what you do to your children.
- 41:28SPEAKER_02: Of course you can be a proud of an adult, whatever.
- 41:30SPEAKER_02: Uh this is not answering the question.
- 41:33SPEAKER_02: What was the offer to Mike Anthony?
- 41:35SPEAKER_02: Let's see.
- 41:36SPEAKER_02: Uh the transition from Michael Anthony to Wolfgang uh was part of a larger restructuring that began in the mid-2000s.
- 41:46SPEAKER_02: Anthony was forced to take a pay cut and sign away his rights to the Van Halen band name before going on tour with the group in 2004, which is public record that that was an awful reunion tour.
- 41:56SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 41:57SPEAKER_02: Uh this marked the beginning of the end for Anthony's tenure with the band, and he had been uh he had been part of since 1974.
- 42:04SPEAKER_02: Uh they they really haven't said what the offer was.
- 42:10SPEAKER_02: Uh let's see.
- 42:11SPEAKER_02: Wolfgang Van Halen received backlash from some Van Halen fans when he replaced Mike Anthony for the band's reunion tour.
- 42:17SPEAKER_02: Decision was particularly difficult given Anthony's long history with the band.
- 42:20SPEAKER_02: Yes, we know all this.
- 42:22SPEAKER_02: Uh circumstances surrounding Anthony's departure were more complex than initially revealed.
- 42:27SPEAKER_02: Anthony told New York magazine that he believes the Van Halen brothers disliked his sauce business and felt it undercut their music.
- 42:33SPEAKER_02: This business venture, which Anthony had developed as a side project, apparently created tension within the band that contributed to his eventual exit.
- 42:40SPEAKER_02: I don't know how a sauce brand could create one has nothing to do with the other.
- 42:45SPEAKER_02: Right, exactly.
- 42:46SPEAKER_02: Um this just talks about what Wolfie is up to.
- 42:51SPEAKER_02: This doesn't answer the question.
- 42:52SPEAKER_02: It sounds like it's clickbait.
- 42:53SPEAKER_02: It is clickbait.
- 42:54SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 42:55SPEAKER_02: Reveals the final offer Eddie made to Michael Anthony.
- 42:58SPEAKER_02: Oh, we called him and he didn't answer.
- 43:00SPEAKER_02: Hey, you want to play?
- 43:01SPEAKER_02: That's the final offer.
- 43:03SPEAKER_06: Are you there?
- 43:04SPEAKER_02: That's the final offer.
- 43:06SPEAKER_06: Hey, Mike, pick up.
- 43:08SPEAKER_06: Are you there?
- 43:10SPEAKER_06: Um.
- 43:15SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 43:16SPEAKER_02: So uh well that revealed nothing as far as I'm concerned.
- 43:20SPEAKER_02: You're right.
- 43:21SPEAKER_06: That was That is a big nothing burger.
- 43:22SPEAKER_06: Exactly what I with Michael Anthony software.
- 43:25SPEAKER_02: What you said was clickbait, yeah, for sure.
- 43:27SPEAKER_02: So um uh let's because uh Van Halen was uh huge in the 80s, uh I'm trying to make a transition here.
- 43:36SPEAKER_02: Let's uh transition to uh movie time.
- 43:39SPEAKER_02: Poorly explained movies.
- 43:41SPEAKER_06: Yay!
- 43:42SPEAKER_02: Uh which did you know that maybe I played this for you?
- 43:47SPEAKER_02: Eddie Van Halen.
- 43:51SPEAKER_02: Let's see if I can just type in the right thing and it'll come up.
- 44:02SPEAKER_02: Uh that No.
- 44:08SPEAKER_02: It won't come up.
- 44:10SPEAKER_02: I think it was right now.
- 44:12SPEAKER_06: Well somebody made a really bad version of that song and put it on a TV commercial I noticed.
- 44:17SPEAKER_02: Oh really?
- 44:18SPEAKER_06: Yeah, for like Walgreens or CBS or something.
- 44:22SPEAKER_02: Um well I'm thinking of the um there was uh there was a made-for-tv movie or something.
- 44:30SPEAKER_02: Um that Oh, maybe it's this wildlife soundtrack.
- 44:37SPEAKER_02: Um that the the wor the word or the the song Right Now was part of.
- 44:46SPEAKER_02: Um I didn't know all these existed.
- 44:52SPEAKER_02: Uh I'm gonna I'm gonna pause this one just for a second because I wanna listen to that.
- 44:59SPEAKER_02: Again, another uh another rabbit hole.
- 45:04SPEAKER_02: That oh maybe this is it.
- 45:09SPEAKER_02: This is so this is on a Van Halen album.
- 45:25SPEAKER_02: It's on the new one, the latest one.
- 45:28SPEAKER_02: So this is from a from the wildlife.
- 45:31SPEAKER_02: This is the opening theme to a television series or television movie.
- 45:35SPEAKER_02: The wildlife.
- 45:46SPEAKER_02: Nope.
- 45:57SPEAKER_06: You sure?
- 45:59SPEAKER_06: Yep.
- 46:08SPEAKER_02: All right.
- 46:10SPEAKER_02: Maybe you will recognize it if I play it off that album.
- 46:30SPEAKER_02: Oh, now I do.
- 46:30SPEAKER_02: Blood and fire.
- 46:31SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 46:34SPEAKER_02: Which largely that album that came out in uh what was it, 90 oh no, 2012, A Different Kind of Truth was largely what that was.
- 46:42SPEAKER_02: Oh old Van Hilly music that just kind of recycled.
- 46:45SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 46:46SPEAKER_02: But uh he did a t a TV movie where uh right now, the piano music for right now was part of the soundtrack.
- 46:52SPEAKER_02: Oh.
- 46:52SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 46:53SPEAKER_02: So that's it's that old.
- 46:54SPEAKER_02: It's that old.
- 46:55SPEAKER_02: Anyway.
- 46:56SPEAKER_02: Let me go back to this and we'll ask some questions.
- 47:00SPEAKER_02: Um again, I have three that I think you'll get.
- 47:03SPEAKER_02: One that I think you might have a hard time with.
- 47:05SPEAKER_02: And um I've been wrong a couple of times.
- 47:08SPEAKER_02: Me too.
- 47:08SPEAKER_02: So uh and some of these uh I wonder if we've already well, at least one of these we may have already done, but I don't know.
- 47:14SPEAKER_02: We'll see.
- 47:15SPEAKER_02: Here is the poor explanation.
- 47:19SPEAKER_02: A Dutch man takes a mud bath.
- 47:25SPEAKER_02: And the hint is while hunting, 1987.
- 47:30SPEAKER_06: Oh.
- 47:30SPEAKER_06: Predator.
- 47:31SPEAKER_06: Holy cow, how did you get that?
- 47:33SPEAKER_06: I don't know how he's Dutch.
- 47:35SPEAKER_06: Who is it?
- 47:36SPEAKER_06: Schwarzenegger.
- 47:38SPEAKER_06: He's not Dutch.
- 47:39SPEAKER_06: I know.
- 47:40SPEAKER_06: That's why I don't get it.
- 47:42SPEAKER_06: He's German.
- 47:43SPEAKER_06: But the fact that Austrian is the fact that you got that.
- 47:45SPEAKER_03: Wow.
- 47:46SPEAKER_06: Well, I mean, remember because he figured out that the Predator could see, could had like heat sensors, could like so he covered himself in mud.
- 47:54SPEAKER_06: So I do remember.
- 47:57SPEAKER_06: You know, I'd seen that movie so long ago.
- 47:59SPEAKER_06: I don't how you guys remember this stuff.
- 48:00SPEAKER_06: I don't know.
- 48:01SPEAKER_06: I don't either.
- 48:01SPEAKER_06: Well, Rambo, Rambo did the same thing in Rambo too.
- 48:04SPEAKER_02: Covered himself in mud, yeah.
- 48:06SPEAKER_06: Yeah, remember, remember he was like the Russians were hunting him, and there's like the scene, this Russian comes up, and there's like this big mud wall, and all of a sudden Rambo opens his eyes, and then you're like, Yeah, I love that.
- 48:16SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 48:17SPEAKER_02: Uh all right, here's the next one.
- 48:19SPEAKER_02: I think you'll get this.
- 48:20SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 48:22SPEAKER_02: A gym teacher searches for a mole.
- 48:29SPEAKER_06: Gym teacher searches for a mole.
- 48:31SPEAKER_02: You'll get it when I give you the hint.
- 48:33SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 48:34SPEAKER_02: She saw it in the shower.
- 48:36SPEAKER_02: 1981.
- 48:37SPEAKER_02: Porkies.
- 48:39SPEAKER_15: Yes.
- 48:42SPEAKER_02: A rite of passage.
- 48:44SPEAKER_02: Yes, it is.
- 48:45SPEAKER_02: Um, okay, and I think this is the one I think we might have done before.
- 48:48SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 48:49SPEAKER_02: Some retirees become obsessed with swimming.
- 48:52SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah, we've done this before.
- 48:53SPEAKER_02: It's cocoon.
- 48:54SPEAKER_02: Cocoon, yeah.
- 48:55SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 48:55SPEAKER_15: Alright.
- 48:55SPEAKER_08: Alright.
- 48:56SPEAKER_02: Here's one that you could go either way on, I think.
- 48:59SPEAKER_02: Alright.
- 49:00SPEAKER_02: I think you could get this, and then maybe you won't.
- 49:03SPEAKER_02: Um, okay.
- 49:05SPEAKER_02: Four disgruntled employees force a retiree to go back to work.
- 49:13SPEAKER_02: We may have done this too.
- 49:15SPEAKER_02: Some of these look so familiar.
- 49:17SPEAKER_02: Four disgruntled employees force a retiree to go back to work.
- 49:20SPEAKER_02: You want the hint?
- 49:21SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 49:21SPEAKER_02: They aren't human.
- 49:24SPEAKER_06: They aren't human.
- 49:25SPEAKER_02: 1982 The disgruntled, the four disgruntled employees are not human.
- 49:37SPEAKER_02: Force a retiree to go back to work.
- 49:40SPEAKER_02: 1982.
- 49:44SPEAKER_06: No idea.
- 49:45SPEAKER_02: Let me give you another hint.
- 49:46SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 49:47SPEAKER_02: Harrison Ford.
- 49:54SPEAKER_06: The Empire Strikes Back?
- 49:55SPEAKER_02: It is not.
- 49:57SPEAKER_06: Harrison Ford.
- 49:59SPEAKER_02: Think of 1982 Harrison Ford.
- 50:02SPEAKER_02: Sci-fi.
- 50:04SPEAKER_02: Oh, is it Blade Runner?
- 50:05SPEAKER_02: It is Blade Runner.
- 50:06SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 50:07SPEAKER_02: Uh, you wouldn't have got that, so I'm gonna say I was right.
- 50:10SPEAKER_06: Yeah, that's right.
- 50:10SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 50:11SPEAKER_02: That was, yeah, that was, yeah.
- 50:12SPEAKER_02: That was a little weird.
- 50:13SPEAKER_02: It was a little weird.
- 50:13SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 50:14SPEAKER_02: It was a little weird.
- 50:15SPEAKER_02: Um, so yeah.
- 50:17SPEAKER_02: There's that.
- 50:18SPEAKER_16: Alright.
- 50:18SPEAKER_16: Yay! Yay! Now you know what it's time for?
- 50:21SPEAKER_16: It's time for mix.
- 50:23SPEAKER_01: It's time for everyone's favorite part of the show.
- 50:25SPEAKER_01: That part! That one.
- 50:26SPEAKER_01: With everyone's favorites, O'Brien, Doug, Cousin Larry, and yours truly, Miss Judge Ness.
- 50:32SPEAKER_01: Judge Ness, Judge Ness.
- 50:34SPEAKER_01: It's time to play mixtape, mixtape.
- 50:37SPEAKER_02: Alright, and we had it.
- 50:38SPEAKER_02: This was a special edition of uh mixtape.
- 50:41SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 50:42SPEAKER_02: For our friend Bouncing Bob, uh, who is going through treatments for cancer.
- 50:47SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 50:48SPEAKER_02: And we uh were tasked with finding uh Well, we gotta do the past first.
- 50:53SPEAKER_06: Oh, I thought that was the past.
- 50:55SPEAKER_06: No.
- 50:55SPEAKER_02: Alright.
- 50:56SPEAKER_02: Hold on.
- 50:58SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 50:59SPEAKER_02: Okay, go ahead.
- 51:00SPEAKER_06: Or do we have the past?
- 51:01SPEAKER_02: No.
- 51:02SPEAKER_02: Do we have a past?
- 51:02SPEAKER_02: Yeah, we have a past.
- 51:04SPEAKER_02: Wait, I don't remember.
- 51:07SPEAKER_02: Just yep.
- 51:08SPEAKER_02: Let me uh she'll she'll shed some light on it, I'm sure.
- 51:10SPEAKER_06: Oh I'm sure, yeah.
- 51:11SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 51:12SPEAKER_02: Because we haven't done the the the cancer song yet.
- 51:15SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 51:16SPEAKER_02: Uh she did she send a reply?
- 51:28SPEAKER_06: Well, I I'll I'll just yeah, I'll just She did send a reply.
- 51:32SPEAKER_02: She did or she didn't?
- 51:33SPEAKER_02: She did.
- 51:33SPEAKER_02: She did, okay.
- 51:34SPEAKER_02: So she she's gonna kind of let us know.
- 51:37SPEAKER_02: She'll fix it.
- 51:38SPEAKER_06: Because she's wicked smat.
- 51:39SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 51:39SPEAKER_02: Because she's a professor, right?
- 51:41SPEAKER_06: She's a uh nuclear physicist.
- 51:43SPEAKER_06: Oh, okay.
- 51:44SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 51:44SPEAKER_06: She she uh she uh she invented um uh nuclear cold diffusion bomb.
- 51:52SPEAKER_06: Oh I thought that was her really good job.
- 51:58SPEAKER_03: She did a really good job.
- 52:01SPEAKER_05: She really made a fusion.
- 52:07SPEAKER_05: I don't know how nuclear works.
- 52:15SPEAKER_06: She's madder than you.
- 52:17SPEAKER_06: She's wicked as mad.
- 52:18SPEAKER_06: Have you ever heard the story about the g the the the pilot that got shot down over Japan in World War II?
- 52:23SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 52:24SPEAKER_06: Just after uh Hiroshima.
- 52:27SPEAKER_06: And so he was being interrogated by the Japanese and they started asking about you know, about the atomic bomb, and he had no clue.
- 52:37SPEAKER_06: He just had like bits and pieces of it.
- 52:39SPEAKER_06: So he made up this whole line of BS and fed it to him, and they believed him at first.
- 52:45SPEAKER_16: Right.
- 52:45SPEAKER_06: So they shipped him all the way to Tokyo because it he told them the next target was gonna be Tokyo.
- 52:51SPEAKER_06: So they shipped him to Tokyo to like meet with the war council or like and they had actual nuclear This is a true story.
- 52:57SPEAKER_06: This is a true story.
- 52:58SPEAKER_06: Okay.
- 52:58SPEAKER_06: And they and he had uh, you know, I mean he because they were beating the crab out of him.
- 53:02SPEAKER_06: They were interrogating, they're beating the crab out of him.
- 53:04SPEAKER_06: They told him he was gonna kill him and everything.
- 53:05SPEAKER_06: So of course he's gonna make up stuff.
- 53:08SPEAKER_06: You know, he told him that it was like the bomb was 36 feet long and 24 feet wide, and you know, it was it would just it was just such a line of BS.
- 53:18SPEAKER_06: So he gets they send him to Tokyo, he meets with this Japanese scientist that studied in New York, yeah, studied physics, and he's talking to him and he goes, and the the nuclear, the Japanese nuclear physicist is like, you don't know anything about this, do you?
- 53:32SPEAKER_06: And he's like, No.
- 53:37SPEAKER_06: But by that point, Nagasaki had been already bombed too.
- 53:40SPEAKER_06: Right.
- 53:40SPEAKER_06: So they were just like, you know, well, you're you're useless.
- 53:43SPEAKER_06: So wow.
- 53:44SPEAKER_06: It's a pretty great story.
- 53:46SPEAKER_06: I'd never heard that.
- 53:46SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 53:47SPEAKER_06: Uh okay, anyway, but back on top with because this is the ADD podcast.
- 53:51SPEAKER_06: Right.
- 53:52SPEAKER_06: All right, so here's Miss Judgeness.
- 53:54SPEAKER_01: Hey guys, that was a really epic week of picks for mixtape.
- 53:58SPEAKER_01: I had a lot of laughs listening to Doug's, uh, and I couldn't not pick Doug's after that.
- 54:04SPEAKER_06: Mr.
- 54:04SPEAKER_01: Master Pings.
- 54:05SPEAKER_01: That is a perfect uh song for creating a masterpiece.
- 54:10SPEAKER_01: I did unfortunately have that jingle stuck in my head thereafter, but it was worth it.
- 54:14SPEAKER_01: It was a great pick.
- 54:16SPEAKER_02: Creating your masterpiece.
- 54:17SPEAKER_02: That's right, that's what it was.
- 54:18SPEAKER_02: That's what it was.
- 54:19SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 54:20SPEAKER_06: So that's the past.
- 54:21SPEAKER_02: Now we do the present.
- 54:22SPEAKER_06: Now we do the present.
- 54:23SPEAKER_02: And so uh we all picked a song to help Bouncing Bob get through his treatments.
- 54:30SPEAKER_06: Yes.
- 54:30SPEAKER_02: Right?
- 54:30SPEAKER_02: And so what did what did Cousin Larry pick?
- 54:32SPEAKER_06: Well, I'm gonna go with the judge because she's already she Oh, that's right.
- 54:35SPEAKER_06: I forgot she he asked her to do it too.
- 54:37SPEAKER_06: Yeah, yeah.
- 54:37SPEAKER_06: And this is her choice.
- 54:38SPEAKER_06: Okay.
- 54:39SPEAKER_06: I'm gonna play it.
- 54:40SPEAKER_16: Okay.
- 54:40SPEAKER_06: Hopefully it comes through.
- 54:44SPEAKER_06: And it is not.
- 54:46SPEAKER_06: It's it's a song called Legends Are Made by Sam Tana Tenases.
- 54:53SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 54:55SPEAKER_02: Oh, she sent a link to it.
- 54:57SPEAKER_02: Yeah, okay.
- 54:57SPEAKER_06: And it's not playing for it.
- 54:58SPEAKER_06: Okay.
- 54:58SPEAKER_06: So let's see.
- 55:31SPEAKER_02: I've heard this actually.
- 55:33SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 55:37SPEAKER_02: It reminds me a little bit of a legend.
- 55:42SPEAKER_02: Less uh a less rock version of skillet.
- 55:47SPEAKER_02: Oh, okay, yeah.
- 55:48SPEAKER_02: Doesn't it?
- 55:48SPEAKER_02: Yeah, a little bit.
- 55:49SPEAKER_02: Now that you mention it.
- 55:50SPEAKER_13: This is how legends are made.
- 55:53SPEAKER_16: Alright, Sam Tnez.
- 55:55SPEAKER_16: Tinez.
- 55:56SPEAKER_16: Tinez?
- 55:57SPEAKER_16: T-I-N-N-E-S-Z.
- 55:59SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 56:00SPEAKER_16: I bet the Z is silent.
- 56:01SPEAKER_06: I bet it is.
- 56:02SPEAKER_06: I bet the T silent too.
- 56:05SPEAKER_06: Sam Innie.
- 56:12SPEAKER_06: But he has an Audi.
- 56:16SPEAKER_06: I'm sorry.
- 56:17SPEAKER_06: I don't know why that's funny.
- 56:18SPEAKER_06: I don't know, because this is just this is just an off-the-rails project.
- 56:21SPEAKER_06: It really is.
- 56:22SPEAKER_02: Alright, what did uh what did Cousin Larry say?
- 56:25SPEAKER_06: Alright, so this is what cousin Larry said.
- 56:28SPEAKER_06: Okay.
- 56:30SPEAKER_06: Okay, mixtape.
- 56:32SPEAKER_06: Well, I have never had to face what our podcast friend is facing.
- 56:36SPEAKER_06: But there have been so many songs over the years that pump me up.
- 56:40SPEAKER_06: The theme from Rocky, Gonna Fly Now, is one.
- 56:42SPEAKER_06: And I love working out to either Van Halen's debut album or Van Halen 2.
- 56:46SPEAKER_06: But the song that kept popping up in my head is Tom Petty's I Won't Back Down.
- 56:51SPEAKER_06: Oh, good one.
- 56:51SPEAKER_06: You can stand me up at the gates of hell, but I won't back down.
- 56:54SPEAKER_06: I know our podcast friend will be strong, and I hope they find inspiration in the song.
- 56:58SPEAKER_06: We're all praying for you.
- 57:00SPEAKER_02: So that's a good one.
- 57:02SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 57:02SPEAKER_02: I almost thought of that one, actually.
- 57:04SPEAKER_02: I mean I did think of it, but I almost picked it.
- 57:06SPEAKER_02: So let's see.
- 57:20SPEAKER_13: Noah, walk back down.
- 57:24SPEAKER_13: You can stand me up at the gates of hell, but uh walk back down.
- 57:33SPEAKER_13: Noah, stand my ground, won't be turned around.
- 57:47SPEAKER_13: Stand my ground back down.
- 58:13SPEAKER_02: Something tells me Bounce and Bob probably had that one on his playlist, but yeah, great song.
- 58:18SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 58:18SPEAKER_02: Great choice.
- 58:19SPEAKER_02: Uh if he doesn't, he should add it.
- 58:21SPEAKER_02: I agree.
- 58:22SPEAKER_02: And what about you, my friend?
- 58:24SPEAKER_06: I went with one of the most pump up songs ever.
- 58:28SPEAKER_06: Pantera Domination.
- 58:30SPEAKER_12: Aha, so the message is I what is there a message?
- 59:57SPEAKER_04: Is there just dominate?
- 59:58SPEAKER_15: Right, that's what I'm saying.
- 1:00:02SPEAKER_12: That's like girl.
- 1:00:15SPEAKER_02: All right.
- 1:00:17SPEAKER_02: Domination.
- 1:00:18SPEAKER_02: Domination from Cowboys from Hell.
- 1:00:21SPEAKER_02: Uh I'm gonna go a little cheesier.
- 1:00:23SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 1:00:23SPEAKER_02: Um This isn't this isn't it.
- 1:00:33SPEAKER_06: Is this what I think it is?
- 1:00:34SPEAKER_15: Yeah, it is.
- 1:01:49SPEAKER_02: That's a kid cancer's ass song right there.
- 1:01:51SPEAKER_06: Yeah, man.
- 1:01:57SPEAKER_02: Well, there you go.
- 1:01:58SPEAKER_02: Jumbo Wumba.
- 1:02:00SPEAKER_02: Tumble Thumping is the name of that one.
- 1:02:02SPEAKER_02: Yeah! Domination from Pantera was Doug's choice.
- 1:02:06SPEAKER_02: I won't back down from Tom Petty was Cousin Larry's choice.
- 1:02:11SPEAKER_02: And Legends.
- 1:02:13SPEAKER_02: Hold on.
- 1:02:14SPEAKER_02: Legends are made by Sam Inneth.
- 1:02:18SPEAKER_02: Timmy.
- 1:02:19SPEAKER_02: Tinny.
- 1:02:20SPEAKER_02: That's what I'm saying.
- 1:02:21SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 1:02:21SPEAKER_02: So it's titnaise or something like that.
- 1:02:26SPEAKER_02: So all this to say, you got this bouncing bob.
- 1:02:30SPEAKER_02: Yeah, baby.
- 1:02:31SPEAKER_02: Um kick its butt.
- 1:02:32SPEAKER_04: Kick its ass, man.
- 1:02:34SPEAKER_02: And uh there.
- 1:02:37SPEAKER_02: So uh try picking that one.
- 1:02:39SPEAKER_02: Actually, can she pick?
- 1:02:40SPEAKER_02: Because she she she participated.
- 1:02:43SPEAKER_06: Is she still gonna she'll No, this is this isn't like a pick one.
- 1:02:46SPEAKER_02: Okay, so she's not gonna pick one.
- 1:02:47SPEAKER_06: Are we yeah, we're we're gonna do a future one.
- 1:02:49SPEAKER_02: Okay, okay, okay, okay.
- 1:02:51SPEAKER_02: Um so she's not gonna next week.
- 1:02:53SPEAKER_06: No, this this is just for Bob to add to his playlist.
- 1:02:55SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 1:02:56SPEAKER_02: So we're not gonna hear from the judge, her judges next week.
- 1:02:58SPEAKER_06: Ooh, this is good.
- 1:02:59SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 1:03:00SPEAKER_02: Right?
- 1:03:00SPEAKER_02: Is that right?
- 1:03:01SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 1:03:01SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 1:03:02SPEAKER_02: So unless she wants to send a commentary about our picks.
- 1:03:07SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah, that's she doesn't have to pick one.
- 1:03:09SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:03:09SPEAKER_02: Because obviously she participated.
- 1:03:11SPEAKER_06: Yeah, she could send us a commentary.
- 1:03:12SPEAKER_02: And she says, she could say, you know, something like, Boys O'Brien's was really good.
- 1:03:17SPEAKER_06: And it's Sam Tanae.
- 1:03:20SPEAKER_06: Stupid.
- 1:03:20SPEAKER_06: You bunch of stupid heads.
- 1:03:23SPEAKER_06: No wonder you do podcasts because you're useless in anything else.
- 1:03:26SPEAKER_06: Because I'm a nuclear physicist.
- 1:03:37SPEAKER_02: I thought it was a taco.
- 1:03:38SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah, she is.
- 1:03:40SPEAKER_02: She should have a cigar bar.
- 1:03:42SPEAKER_06: I don't think it'd go over as well.
- 1:03:43SPEAKER_02: No.
- 1:03:44SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 1:03:45SPEAKER_06: Unless it's an outdoor wedding, then nobody will care.
- 1:03:47SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 1:03:48SPEAKER_06: But you know.
- 1:03:52SPEAKER_06: I think that'd be cool.
- 1:03:56SPEAKER_06: Tacos and cigars.
- 1:03:58SPEAKER_06: Heck yeah, and blues music.
- 1:04:00SPEAKER_06: Blues music.
- 1:04:04SPEAKER_06: Nobody cares about your dreams, dog.
- 1:04:05SPEAKER_06: No, they don't.
- 1:04:07SPEAKER_06: Dead end dog.
- 1:04:09SPEAKER_06: He's a loser.
- 1:04:18SPEAKER_04: And he's exactly what he seems to be.
- 1:04:22SPEAKER_06: Did you pick one?
- 1:04:23SPEAKER_06: I did.
- 1:04:25SPEAKER_06: Okay, future question.
- 1:04:27SPEAKER_06: Best hair slash metal ballad song.
- 1:04:33SPEAKER_06: Best hair slash metal?
- 1:04:35SPEAKER_06: Hair metal?
- 1:04:36SPEAKER_06: Best hair slash metal ballad.
- 1:04:39SPEAKER_06: So it could be hair metal.
- 1:04:41SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 1:04:41SPEAKER_02: So best best hair metal ballad.
- 1:04:43SPEAKER_06: Hair metal.
- 1:04:44SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 1:04:48SPEAKER_02: Best hair metal ballad song.
- 1:04:52SPEAKER_02: Wow.
- 1:04:52SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 1:04:53SPEAKER_02: Yeah, well that that one actually kind of could be tough.
- 1:04:56SPEAKER_02: That's what I'm thinking.
- 1:04:56SPEAKER_02: That's the subjective, obviously.
- 1:04:58SPEAKER_02: Oh yeah.
- 1:04:58SPEAKER_02: Um.
- 1:04:59SPEAKER_02: Which all of these are, but still.
- 1:05:01SPEAKER_02: Super subjective.
- 1:05:03SPEAKER_02: Alright, so uh we're gonna take a break and we'll come back, we'll climb the wall of tunes and do all that good stuff and try and kill the mouse that's running through my basement.

- 1:12:13SPEAKER_06: Because we're talking about it.

- 1:12:16SPEAKER_02: Coming soon.
- 1:12:17SPEAKER_02: Coming soon.
- 1:12:18SPEAKER_02: Dead and Doug's dream hole.
- 1:12:24SPEAKER_14: We don't mention anything about glory anywhere.
- 1:12:27SPEAKER_14: That that was the whole point.
- 1:12:28SPEAKER_14: I know.
- 1:12:29SPEAKER_14: That was the whole point.
- 1:12:30SPEAKER_14: I know.
- 1:12:31SPEAKER_06: If we added glory, it would be like wrong kind of place.

- 1:12:49SPEAKER_02: Uh let the guessing begin.
- 1:12:51SPEAKER_02: Uh is it a band or a solo person?
- 1:12:54SPEAKER_02: It's a solo person known for being in a band.
- 1:12:56SPEAKER_06: Okay.
- 1:12:57SPEAKER_06: But is this Are we just talking about the person?
- 1:13:01SPEAKER_06: Oh yes.
- 1:13:02SPEAKER_06: Uh is it a man or is it a woman?
- 1:13:04SPEAKER_06: It's a man.
- 1:13:10SPEAKER_06: Um height of popularity.
- 1:13:13SPEAKER_02: Um height of the band's popularity?
- 1:13:18SPEAKER_02: Or his popularity.
- 1:13:20SPEAKER_02: Because this is a solo album that I don't think did much.
- 1:13:26SPEAKER_06: Oh, okay.
- 1:13:27SPEAKER_02: So height of the band's popularity, I would say probably 80s.
- 1:13:31SPEAKER_06: Okay.
- 1:13:32SPEAKER_06: Is he still alive?
- 1:13:33SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 1:13:34SPEAKER_02: Is he still performing?
- 1:13:35SPEAKER_02: Yes, but he performs with several bands actually, at a time.
- 1:13:39SPEAKER_06: Is it um Paul?
- 1:13:45SPEAKER_16: Young?
- 1:13:46SPEAKER_16: Paul Young?
- 1:13:48SPEAKER_16: I don't try to think of who are you trying to think of?
- 1:13:50SPEAKER_16: Paul Young?
- 1:13:52SPEAKER_16: Every time you go.
- 1:13:54SPEAKER_02: Oh that's Paul Young.
- 1:13:56SPEAKER_02: Paul Rogers?
- 1:13:57SPEAKER_02: Paul Rogers?
- 1:13:58SPEAKER_02: It is not Paul Rogers.
- 1:14:00SPEAKER_02: This guy bet I bet wishes he was Paul Rogers.
- 1:14:02SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 1:14:03SPEAKER_02: Um I think he's a better songwriter.
- 1:14:06SPEAKER_02: Well, uh, it's consistent.
- 1:14:08SPEAKER_02: Songwriter.
- 1:14:11SPEAKER_06: What kind of music?
- 1:14:12SPEAKER_06: I mean, it's rock.
- 1:14:13SPEAKER_06: Like straight rock.
- 1:14:14SPEAKER_02: Straight rock.
- 1:14:14SPEAKER_06: Okay.
- 1:14:15SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 1:14:16SPEAKER_06: Known for being in a band.
- 1:14:21SPEAKER_02: Uh he has another one that did even less than this one.
- 1:14:27SPEAKER_06: This is like his first one?
- 1:14:28SPEAKER_06: No, this was his second, I believe.
- 1:14:30SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:14:33SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:14:44SPEAKER_02: He's been in a super group.
- 1:14:59SPEAKER_06: Billy Sheen.
- 1:15:00SPEAKER_02: No.
- 1:15:01SPEAKER_02: And he's a writer.
- 1:15:02SPEAKER_02: He writes most of the stuff actually.
- 1:15:07SPEAKER_02: I mean Um, let's see.
- 1:15:11SPEAKER_02: So I told you he's played the days.
- 1:15:14SPEAKER_02: He's a singer, he's a writer.
- 1:15:16SPEAKER_02: He's been in a supergroup.
- 1:15:18SPEAKER_02: Uh and he's been in a duo with a member of that supergroup.
- 1:15:26SPEAKER_06: Is it uh Jack Blades?
- 1:15:30SPEAKER_02: It is Jack Blades.
- 1:15:31SPEAKER_02: It is Jack Blades.
- 1:15:32SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:15:33SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 1:15:33SPEAKER_06: Have you ever heard this album?
- 1:15:35SPEAKER_06: I don't think so.
- 1:15:35SPEAKER_06: I didn't even know he had a.
- 1:15:36SPEAKER_02: Dude, this album is amazing.
- 1:15:38SPEAKER_06: No, I never even know he had a solo album.
- 1:15:40SPEAKER_02: Yeah, uh, this is Jack Blades, I think technically his second solo album.
- 1:15:44SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:15:45SPEAKER_02: It's called Rock and Roll Ride.
- 1:15:47SPEAKER_02: And actually, this uh when did this come out?
- 1:15:52SPEAKER_02: It looks fairly old.
- 1:15:54SPEAKER_02: It's on Frontiers Records.
- 1:15:55SPEAKER_02: Oh, it is.
- 1:15:56SPEAKER_06: So it's new, man.
- 1:15:57SPEAKER_06: Uh New Ish.
- 1:15:59SPEAKER_06: 2012.
- 1:16:00SPEAKER_06: Okay, yeah.
- 1:16:01SPEAKER_02: Um, but he's got like um who was the guy that played in Night Ranger?
- 1:16:06SPEAKER_02: Jack Jack Ray Jack Blades, of course, was in Night Ranger.
- 1:16:08SPEAKER_02: Is in Night Ranger.
- 1:16:09SPEAKER_02: And Damn Yankees.
- 1:16:10SPEAKER_02: And Shaw Blades.
- 1:16:12SPEAKER_02: Um, but he uh who's the guy that played guitar in Night Ranger for a while, but now is in like Whitesnake?
- 1:16:20SPEAKER_06: Brad Gill.
- 1:16:21SPEAKER_06: No, not Brad Gill.
- 1:16:22SPEAKER_02: Um shoot.
- 1:16:25SPEAKER_06: What is that guy's name?
- 1:16:26SPEAKER_02: Oh, Joel Holkstra.
- 1:16:28SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:16:28SPEAKER_02: So Joel Holkstra um plays guitar on a bunch of these songs, and I think actually a couple of the other members of Night Ranger are on these as well.
- 1:16:37SPEAKER_02: But I just I really like this album.
- 1:16:40SPEAKER_02: Um This song is has a is this a video?
- 1:16:46SPEAKER_02: Is there a video for this?
- 1:16:48SPEAKER_02: Uh it's very military.
- 1:16:51SPEAKER_02: He's very pro-military.
- 1:16:53SPEAKER_02: Um I wonder if it's I'm thinking of a video.
- 1:17:06SPEAKER_02: Why am I thinking it's a video?
- 1:17:09SPEAKER_02: No, I think it is a video.
- 1:17:10SPEAKER_06: Okay, I was thinking, are you thinking damn Yankees?
- 1:17:13SPEAKER_02: No, it is a video.
- 1:17:14SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 1:17:14SPEAKER_02: Uh this is a this is a great song.
- 1:17:19SPEAKER_13: Northern Italy, May 1944, I got nothing to die.
- 1:17:45SPEAKER_13: One thing in the night, I wanna die.
- 1:18:28SPEAKER_02: Back in the game.
- 1:18:29SPEAKER_02: Hey, this could be uh a song for Bouncing Ball.
- 1:18:32SPEAKER_02: Back back in the game.
- 1:18:34SPEAKER_13: One more line on the face and the years on the bottom.
- 1:18:38SPEAKER_02: That's that's a kind of a cool rocking rocking group.
- 1:18:41SPEAKER_02: Good song.
- 1:18:41SPEAKER_02: It is a good song.
- 1:18:42SPEAKER_02: Um and there's more than that on this album.
- 1:18:45SPEAKER_02: I want to show you uh a bunch of these because this guy is quite underrated, actually.
- 1:18:50SPEAKER_02: Uh this one is uh rock and roll ride.
- 1:18:54SPEAKER_02: It's pretty cliche.
- 1:18:56SPEAKER_02: Um, but it still rocks.
- 1:18:58SPEAKER_05: It's it's well, it's right in the name.
- 1:19:02SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 1:20:12SPEAKER_02: So it's pretty cliche, but rocks, man.
- 1:20:14SPEAKER_02: I mean, it's cool.
- 1:20:15SPEAKER_02: It's cool.
- 1:20:15SPEAKER_02: I mean, this is what you want.
- 1:20:16SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:20:17SPEAKER_02: I agree.
- 1:20:18SPEAKER_02: Uh, it does have a great ballad, hardest word to say.
- 1:20:21SPEAKER_02: I'm not gonna play too much of it, but super calapatrica has been all the notion.
- 1:20:25SPEAKER_06: Oh, sorry.
- 1:20:27SPEAKER_03: I can say that, sorry.
- 1:20:34SPEAKER_03: At least I think it's sorry.
- 1:20:36SPEAKER_13: Keep calling out judging.
- 1:20:40SPEAKER_13: Voice I'm hearing knowing just don't sound the same.
- 1:20:47SPEAKER_13: Started up so.
- 1:20:49SPEAKER_02: You can tell he's one of the main riders behind Night Ranger, right?
- 1:20:53SPEAKER_02: Oh yeah, yeah.
- 1:20:54SPEAKER_13: Just one whisper, just to feel I don't know why.
- 1:21:00SPEAKER_13: So many times I've tried to pretend even on the road it never ends.
- 1:21:07SPEAKER_13: I don't know how well to begin.
- 1:21:34SPEAKER_02: It's goodbye.
- 1:21:36SPEAKER_02: I'm sorry, goodbye.
- 1:21:37SPEAKER_02: I went wrong.
- 1:21:39SPEAKER_02: Uh this one I think has uh Robin Sander leads to her a cheap trick.
- 1:21:43SPEAKER_02: Singing with him.
- 1:22:07SPEAKER_15: This one does have a little bit.
- 1:22:25SPEAKER_15: You can hear Robin Xander.
- 1:22:27SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 1:22:30SPEAKER_02: But see what I mean, it's just straight-up rock and roll.
- 1:22:33SPEAKER_02: Oh yeah.
- 1:22:33SPEAKER_02: You know, it's not it's not heavy metal, it's not pop, it's there's hooks, right?
- 1:22:38SPEAKER_02: It's just straightforward rock and roll.
- 1:22:40SPEAKER_06: Yeah, it's just rock.
- 1:22:41SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:22:44SPEAKER_02: And I just play a piece of this almost sounds like the Jack Black uh song in uh School of Pop.
- 1:22:52SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it does.
- 1:22:56SPEAKER_06: It's got a damn Yankee feel to it though.
- 1:22:59SPEAKER_13: Love life is what this is called Field of California Stop.

- 1:25:05SPEAKER_02: This one's called Born for This.
- 1:25:07SPEAKER_02: I like that I really love it.
- 1:25:08SPEAKER_02: I thought it'd be called Jack's Day.
- 1:25:10SPEAKER_06: I like this one.
- 1:25:45SPEAKER_02: Let me let me clarify.
- 1:25:46SPEAKER_02: The last verse is about him.

- 1:27:03SPEAKER_02: Straight up rock and roll, man.
- 1:27:05SPEAKER_02: Jack Blade's uh Rock and Roll Ride is the name of it.
