- 0:04Speaker 1: Welcome to pick up and deliver the podcast where I
- 0:06Speaker 1: pick up my audio recorder as I step out for
- 0:08Speaker 1: a walk and deliver an episode to you while I
- 0:10Speaker 1: stroll around. I'm Brendan Riley.
- 0:21Speaker 2: Well Greeting's listener.
- 0:22Speaker 1: I'm on the way home from the hardware store and
- 0:24Speaker 1: ready to record for you the last episode of season eight.
- 0:28Speaker 1: This is coming on January fifth and will be released
- 0:31Speaker 1: probably January sixth or seventh, and that will be it
- 0:35Speaker 1: for the season.
- 0:36Speaker 2: Then I'm gonna take a couple of.
- 0:37Speaker 1: Weeks off and I'll come back at the beginning of
- 0:40Speaker 1: my college spring semester at the end of January. So
- 0:43Speaker 1: with that in mind, I thought I would talk a
- 0:45Speaker 1: little bit about my thinking my goals for the coming year.
- 0:50Speaker 2: I'm not talking.
- 0:50Speaker 1: About personal goals. This isn't a self help podcast. Instead
- 0:55Speaker 1: of talking about board game related goals. As I think
- 0:57Speaker 1: about the coming year, I like to think about what
- 1:00Speaker 1: happened last year and what I can do this year.
- 1:03Speaker 1: So here we go. First off, game design. So, as
- 1:07Speaker 1: you know, I am a game designer. I do spend
- 1:08Speaker 1: time on game design. Thus last year and frankly the
- 1:11Speaker 1: year before it have been pretty lackluster on the game
- 1:14Speaker 1: design front for me, my game design partner has been
- 1:16Speaker 1: holding out the end of our work with consistent new
- 1:20Speaker 1: designs that I've been helping him play test. But I
- 1:22Speaker 1: haven't really been holding up my end of the bargain
- 1:24Speaker 1: in terms of equal work or equal effort. Now there's okay,
- 1:27Speaker 1: reasons for that that are life related or work related
- 1:31Speaker 1: or whatever. I'm not gonna make excuses, but I do
- 1:35Speaker 1: want to do better this year. So I'm going to
- 1:36Speaker 1: be more intentional about spending time on game design, both
- 1:40Speaker 1: with Rob, Hey Rob, and working sort of on my own,
- 1:44Speaker 1: so that when I come to when I meet up
- 1:46Speaker 1: with Rob to work on things, I have new design
- 1:48Speaker 1: stuff there to bring. It is a creative boon and
- 1:52Speaker 1: a really enjoyable thing to do, and so I'm looking
- 1:56Speaker 1: forward to doing it more. Okay, So that's game design.
- 2:01Speaker 1: We have a number of designs that are sort of
- 2:03Speaker 1: interesting and ready to be shown or published or pitched,
- 2:08Speaker 1: ready to be made available to the world, and I
- 2:11Speaker 1: think that we should make more effort to get them out. Now,
- 2:14Speaker 1: this is a thing I've said number of times, but
- 2:18Speaker 1: New Year's is a time for deciding to try to
- 2:20Speaker 1: do something, and yeah, I want to try to do that.
- 2:24Speaker 1: So that's on the game design front. So hopefully I
- 2:26Speaker 1: will keep you up to date on that throughout the year,
- 2:30Speaker 1: maybe every now and again, I'll every other month or so,
- 2:32Speaker 1: I'll do an episode on latest game design stuff.
- 2:35Speaker 2: I guess, maybe.
- 2:35Speaker 1: Throwing my hat over the wall and being accountable to
- 2:38Speaker 1: you listeners, which I think there's like fifty of you,
- 2:42Speaker 1: maybe between fifty and one hundred.
- 2:44Speaker 2: It's hard to say.
- 2:45Speaker 1: We are downloading that around that many downloads with each episode,
- 2:50Speaker 1: I think, give or take, and so I presume some
- 2:54Speaker 1: people might just be downloading it into their feed and
- 2:56Speaker 1: deleting it. But I hope some of you that are
- 2:59Speaker 1: listening are enjoying it, and I look forward to talking
- 3:02Speaker 1: with you about my game design ideas. All right, The
- 3:06Speaker 1: second thing I want to do is more planned games.
- 3:09Speaker 1: This last year was really fun. I had a good time,
- 3:11Speaker 1: but I did not play as many of the sort
- 3:13Speaker 1: of big crunchy games that I like to play as
- 3:17Speaker 1: I wanted to.
- 3:18Speaker 2: Now.
- 3:18Speaker 1: Part of this was often the place that I play
- 3:20Speaker 1: those is our board game club toggle game community, and
- 3:23Speaker 1: this last year has been very tumultuous for it. We've
- 3:26Speaker 1: had to navigate moving to a new location and all
- 3:30Speaker 1: sorts of other things that sort.
- 3:31Speaker 2: Of go with that.
- 3:33Speaker 1: That has made it hard for me to make time
- 3:36Speaker 1: and effort to plan out games that I will do.
- 3:38Speaker 1: But I'm hoping to make a little more effort in
- 3:41Speaker 1: that regard in the coming year so that I can
- 3:45Speaker 1: play those games that I really really like. You know,
- 3:47Speaker 1: when I do my top fifty and I talk about
- 3:48Speaker 1: my favorite games, a lot of times those games are
- 3:51Speaker 1: very poorly represented in my gameplays for the year, unless
- 3:55Speaker 1: they're specifically the ones my wife enjoys. Ark Nova gets
- 3:58Speaker 1: a lot of play at my house.
- 4:00Speaker 2: She likes ark.
- 4:00Speaker 1: Nova and by the way, congratulations she kicked Maya and
- 4:03Speaker 1: my daughter's butts yesterday in her first win of ark Nova.
- 4:08Speaker 1: Second win actually, but we've been playing it for three years,
- 4:11Speaker 1: so it is a game that she keeps coming back to,
- 4:14Speaker 1: even though I tend to win more often, much much,
- 4:16Speaker 1: much more often. But she kicked our butts yesterday, which
- 4:19Speaker 1: was awesome. So I want to plan But if so,
- 4:22Speaker 1: if I have a big game that takes like two
- 4:24Speaker 1: two and a half hours, three hours, and it's not
- 4:26Speaker 1: a game that she likes to play, it's very rare
- 4:28Speaker 1: that I get to play it and that's going to
- 4:30Speaker 1: be true. That's going to continue to be true. But
- 4:32Speaker 1: I think I could make a little more effort to
- 4:34Speaker 1: get those played, be a little bit more selfish in
- 4:36Speaker 1: my gaming time in terms of playing games I want
- 4:39Speaker 1: to plan to play, but I miss those games. That's
- 4:42Speaker 1: the thing I like most about this hobby are those
- 4:45Speaker 1: big chunkie games, and so I want to play them.
- 4:47Speaker 1: So that's planned games. I haven't actually put it anywhere
- 4:51Speaker 1: in an official challenge, but one of those games I
- 4:53Speaker 1: would love to get played is a Struggle of Empires.
- 4:58Speaker 1: Struggle of Vampires is a Martin Waller, a big beefy
- 5:02Speaker 1: colonizing game which I don't love the theme, but it
- 5:05Speaker 1: is a classic of the genre.
- 5:07Speaker 2: It's supposed to be very good.
- 5:09Speaker 1: I have the fancy pants Ian O'Toole graphic design version
- 5:14Speaker 1: from Eagle Griffin Games.
- 5:15Speaker 2: I think it deserves to get to the table and
- 5:17Speaker 2: I would like to do that.
- 5:18Speaker 1: So Struggle of Vampires would be one of my big
- 5:21Speaker 1: planned games for the year.
- 5:22Speaker 2: I'd also love to play in a game of.
- 5:25Speaker 1: Twilight Imperium, that one I really enjoyed when I played it,
- 5:30Speaker 1: I guess two years ago now, and I would love
- 5:32Speaker 1: to play it again, and then other ones like Rob
- 5:35Speaker 1: planned a game of Cuthulu Wars that was awesome. Yeah,
- 5:37Speaker 1: so big planned games. It's the second thing I want
- 5:40Speaker 1: to try to do more. The third gaming thing that
- 5:44Speaker 1: I want to do a little more is something that
- 5:46Speaker 1: we were doing very well on the last couple of years,
- 5:48Speaker 1: and then we sort of fell off come with the
- 5:52Speaker 1: arrival of the Fall here and this is home campaign games.
- 5:55Speaker 1: I really like when I'm on the regular, you know,
- 5:59Speaker 1: at least once every two weeks, playing another chapter of
- 6:02Speaker 1: a campaign game with my wife and ideally my son
- 6:04Speaker 1: as well. We did really well on gloom Haven, we
- 6:07Speaker 1: did really well on frost Haven. We played a couple
- 6:10Speaker 1: games of Arkham Horror, and then that one has kind
- 6:12Speaker 1: of stalled, so I don't know if we're going to
- 6:13Speaker 1: finish that campaign, but I really do want to play those.
- 6:16Speaker 1: I like those kinds of games a lot. I love
- 6:18Speaker 1: the ongoing story. I like the complexity of them. It's
- 6:21Speaker 1: just a matter of making the time. So home campaign
- 6:24Speaker 1: games are something else I want to try along those lines.
- 6:27Speaker 1: I have a copy of Clank Legacy Acquisitions Incorporated that
- 6:32Speaker 1: I think would go over well with my wife and son.
- 6:35Speaker 1: That would be a good game for us to tackle
- 6:38Speaker 1: after we I think he wants to finish arkhamh Horror
- 6:40Speaker 1: and then get back to frost Haven for a while.
- 6:42Speaker 1: Hopefully my wife will be up for that. She was
- 6:44Speaker 1: a little burned out on frost Haven, I think toward
- 6:47Speaker 1: the end of our plays of it. So we'll see
- 6:50Speaker 1: on that. But I really would like to play some
- 6:52Speaker 1: of those games. I also did get a copy of
- 6:54Speaker 1: Rise of Queensdale, which is a fun looking campaign game
- 6:59Speaker 1: that I'd love to try. And I also have Orleon Stories,
- 7:02Speaker 1: and I don't know how I'm going to play that
- 7:04Speaker 1: one because that one did not go over very well
- 7:06Speaker 1: at home, so that one I would have to get
- 7:08Speaker 1: to do at toggle now toggle Do we do have
- 7:11Speaker 1: the possibility of like a once a month, get the
- 7:13Speaker 1: same group of people we're always going to meet at
- 7:15Speaker 1: seven o'clock on the first Monday of the month to
- 7:17Speaker 1: try to play this campaign game.
- 7:19Speaker 2: That seems like a.
- 7:19Speaker 1: Thing I could do, and I might try to. I've
- 7:22Speaker 1: been meaning to reset I have The King's Dilemma, and
- 7:25Speaker 1: we played three or four chapters of it and nobody
- 7:29Speaker 1: else liked it, so we put it away.
- 7:30Speaker 2: But I really like it, so I would like to
- 7:31Speaker 2: play it again.
- 7:32Speaker 1: I think that would be a fun one to play.
- 7:34Speaker 1: It doesn't take too long. We could play it every
- 7:36Speaker 1: other week at toggle or something. You also can play
- 7:39Speaker 1: it with with people missing. You don't have to always
- 7:41Speaker 1: all be there every time. So I've been thinking about
- 7:43Speaker 1: resetting that. Because it's not a legacy game, it's a
- 7:46Speaker 1: campaign game, so you can reset it, and I've been
- 7:48Speaker 1: thinking about doing that to see if we can get
- 7:51Speaker 1: that played. That is campaign games, particularly home campaign games,
- 7:55Speaker 1: but that's because I never play campaign games in other spaces.
- 7:59Speaker 1: Next up is painting. I really like painting miniatures. I
- 8:02Speaker 1: have a lot of fun with it. I have a
- 8:03Speaker 1: lot of supplies for it, good paints, and I have
- 8:07Speaker 1: done it a fair amount, but it's fallen away. It's
- 8:10Speaker 1: fallen away in recent months, so I would love to
- 8:12Speaker 1: get back to that and really tackle the painting challenges
- 8:17Speaker 1: that I've set up for myself and basically all the
- 8:19Speaker 1: games that I have minis for. In particular, I'm close
- 8:22Speaker 1: to finishing painting Cerebria, which I would love to do
- 8:25Speaker 1: before I play it again, to have it all painted.
- 8:28Speaker 1: So that's the top story, and then I have a
- 8:30Speaker 1: lot of hell Boy miniatures that need painting, though that
- 8:33Speaker 1: one might go on the back burunners just because there's
- 8:35Speaker 1: so many of them that it's hard to it's hard
- 8:38Speaker 1: to get them all done or feel like you're ever
- 8:40Speaker 1: done with the project. That big Anacarni is another one
- 8:43Speaker 1: that I think deserves painting, And I have other games.
- 8:45Speaker 2: Too that have mentors and need some love.
- 8:48Speaker 1: It's also just a really fun hobby, So that is
- 8:50Speaker 1: something else I would like to try to do more
- 8:53Speaker 1: in the coming months or this year.
- 8:55Speaker 2: I would like to next year.
- 8:56Speaker 1: I'd like to be able to reflect and say, look,
- 8:58Speaker 1: I painted a bunch of stuff. Maybe I can make
- 9:00Speaker 1: a commitment to you, dear listener, that episode nine hundred
- 9:02Speaker 1: will be a review of the things I said in
- 9:06Speaker 1: episode eight hundred. Along those lines, I'd love to hear
- 9:08Speaker 1: what are your board gaming goals for the coming year.
- 9:11Speaker 1: What are the things you'd like to do more of.
- 9:12Speaker 1: What are the things that you're neglecting about the hobby
- 9:15Speaker 1: that you'd like to get back into. Head over to
- 9:17Speaker 1: board game Geek Guild three two sixty nine and show
- 9:20Speaker 1: some love. Share your board gaming goals and resolutions resolutions
- 9:24Speaker 1: if you want to call them that, just goals is fine.
- 9:26Speaker 1: And finally, I thought i'd name five games that I'm
- 9:29Speaker 1: really excited about trying in the coming year. These are
- 9:32Speaker 1: all games that just look really good. Two of them
- 9:36Speaker 1: I'm planning to buy. The other three i'd love to try.
- 9:40Speaker 1: So the first and most of it I'm going to
- 9:42Speaker 1: go in order of availability, like if I wanted to
- 9:44Speaker 1: play right now, how quickly could I get to a
- 9:47Speaker 1: table that has it.
- 9:48Speaker 2: The first is going to be Galactic Cruise.
- 9:50Speaker 1: This is the game that came out I think a
- 9:52Speaker 1: year and a half ago, in twenty twenty three, but
- 9:55Speaker 1: they've already done an expansion for it. It is a
- 9:57Speaker 1: big meati game about running a galactic cruise network. It
- 10:02Speaker 1: looks very ark Nova like with Ray and Rich on
- 10:07Speaker 1: board game Arena. I'm diving into it there, but it
- 10:10Speaker 1: often takes me a long time to learn it there.
- 10:12Speaker 1: I'd love to play it on the table. I put
- 10:13Speaker 1: this at the top of the list because I know
- 10:15Speaker 1: my friend Jason Brooks has a copy, so I could,
- 10:18Speaker 1: with the will and the time find a copy to
- 10:20Speaker 1: go find a chance to go to his place and
- 10:22Speaker 1: play it. Second, Luthier is another game that came out
- 10:26Speaker 1: last year. It is a big meaty economic game about
- 10:31Speaker 1: making musical instruments. It's from the company that made Distilled
- 10:34Speaker 1: and has beautiful table presence. The thing that makes you
- 10:37Speaker 1: excited about it is all the descriptions I've heard of it.
- 10:40Speaker 2: Well.
- 10:41Speaker 1: For one regular listener, John Canos or Grishni, put it
- 10:46Speaker 1: very near the top of his list. I think it
- 10:48Speaker 1: was his favorite game of last year. If not, it
- 10:50Speaker 1: was Galactic Cruise. So both of those heavily John inspired here.
- 10:53Speaker 1: But it just looks really good and it reminds me
- 10:56Speaker 1: when I've heard descriptions of the game mechanism. It sounds
- 10:58Speaker 1: like Trick carry On, which is like I really really like.
- 11:01Speaker 2: So Luthier is a game I would love to try.
- 11:04Speaker 1: Next up in terms of availability, and I think that
- 11:06Speaker 1: one does exist. So I don't know if I know
- 11:08Speaker 1: anyone who has it, but I bet I could call
- 11:10Speaker 1: around and find a copy to play. Next step is
- 11:12Speaker 1: Hot Streak. This game looks like really fun for a
- 11:15Speaker 1: large group. I would love to get it played. I'm
- 11:18Speaker 1: hoping that my college board game club will buy it.
- 11:20Speaker 1: I think it'll be a big hit there and I
- 11:22Speaker 1: want to try it with them. I don't think I'm
- 11:25Speaker 1: gonna buy it for my collection because my wife doesn't
- 11:28Speaker 1: like Ready Set Bet and this feels like ready Set Bet.
- 11:30Speaker 2: With sillier components.
- 11:32Speaker 1: If I didn't have Ready Set Bet, I might be
- 11:34Speaker 1: interested in getting Hot Streak, but knowing that she doesn't
- 11:36Speaker 1: like it, it seems silly to buy it, especially because
- 11:39Speaker 1: it's a large group game. But I think that one
- 11:41Speaker 1: looks really fun. If you haven't had a chance to
- 11:43Speaker 1: check that out yet, take a look at it.
- 11:45Speaker 2: It looks neat.
- 11:46Speaker 1: Next up are two games that came out at ESEN
- 11:48Speaker 1: that I'm very excited about and saying I'm sort of
- 11:50Speaker 1: even excited about both of them. One is a Recall,
- 11:53Speaker 1: A Recall which is designed by three of the four
- 11:55Speaker 1: people who designed Revive, which is excellent and game I
- 12:00Speaker 1: really should play more.
- 12:02Speaker 2: I like it so much.
- 12:03Speaker 1: Recall is the sort of new game. It's not related
- 12:07Speaker 1: in any way, but with a title like that feels similar,
- 12:11Speaker 1: I get the vibe that I could see them going
- 12:14Speaker 1: for the regame series. It's kind of like Danielle Tashini
- 12:17Speaker 1: has the Tea games. He keeps making games that start
- 12:20Speaker 1: with a te or maybe that's Simone Luciani or them together.
- 12:24Speaker 1: I think Revive and Recall have that vibe. Although, like
- 12:28Speaker 1: I said, while Christian Amensen Aspy is involved in a revive,
- 12:33Speaker 1: I believe I lifts Fensen is not, so I'm not sure.
- 12:37Speaker 1: And it's not from the same publisher. It's not from
- 12:39Speaker 1: a Porta. I think that's their company. But that one
- 12:42Speaker 1: looks really good too, and it's well reviewed from the
- 12:44Speaker 1: people who got it at Essen. And then finally, the
- 12:46Speaker 1: other one is Vladimir Succi's new game Eponia or Eponia.
- 12:50Speaker 2: Which is about horse racing.
- 12:52Speaker 1: I don't really care about the theme, but anytime Vladimir
- 12:54Speaker 1: Succi comes out with a new game, I want to
- 12:56Speaker 1: try it, and that's the new game from last year.
- 12:58Speaker 1: So those are the five games that I want to
- 13:02Speaker 1: try this year, and I'm putting that as.
- 13:05Speaker 2: My fifth goal for the year.
- 13:10Speaker 1: Greetings friends, Future Brendan here just recording a little follow
- 13:15Speaker 1: up to the season eight finale that I recorded yesterday.
- 13:20Speaker 1: This is my second attempt at the follow up because
- 13:22Speaker 1: even though I was able to record the other episode
- 13:26Speaker 1: using my phone, when I got to the part where
- 13:28Speaker 1: I was recording the follow up, suddenly my microphone started failing.
- 13:32Speaker 1: That it's possible to fail again this time, and then
- 13:34Speaker 1: I'm gonna have to try a third try, just using
- 13:36Speaker 1: the microphone in my house, so I can bring this
- 13:38Speaker 1: season to a close. I have re recorded the last
- 13:40Speaker 1: few episodes so many times anyway, minor problems. It was
- 13:44Speaker 1: only after I finished recording the last episode that it
- 13:47Speaker 1: occurred to me that I might have done this before.
- 13:50Speaker 1: Here's an illustrative story. Several years ago. Now, the headlight
- 13:54Speaker 1: went out on one of my cars, and I went
- 13:56Speaker 1: to replace it. And I got to the hardware store,
- 13:59Speaker 1: the car parts store, and.
- 14:01Speaker 2: They only had bulbs in packs of two.
- 14:03Speaker 1: Well, I figured I'm going to need the other bulb
- 14:06Speaker 1: eventually anyway, So I bought the pack of two, brought
- 14:09Speaker 1: it home, replaced the bulb in the headlight, and then
- 14:12Speaker 1: I thought, okay, so now what do I do with
- 14:14Speaker 1: this other bulb.
- 14:15Speaker 2: I don't want to keep in the car. That's pain
- 14:17Speaker 2: in the butt.
- 14:17Speaker 1: So I'm like, all right, there's a spot where I
- 14:19Speaker 1: keep some stuff related to the car in the house.
- 14:22Speaker 1: I'm going to put the bulb in that spot, and
- 14:25Speaker 1: then next time a headlight burns out, I will have
- 14:28Speaker 1: a headlight ready to go. So I went to the
- 14:30Speaker 1: spot in my house or that light bulb where I
- 14:33Speaker 1: would keep that light bulb where I would know to
- 14:34Speaker 1: look for it. And I found another package with one
- 14:38Speaker 1: light bulb in it from last time I had replaced
- 14:40Speaker 1: the light bulb in my car. It seems like this
- 14:43Speaker 1: is a useful allegory for me for specifically this reason.
- 14:49Speaker 1: As I after I finished recording the episode in which
- 14:52Speaker 1: I decided, Hey, maybe I should come up with some goals,
- 14:56Speaker 1: sort of lick podcasts resolutions, I.
- 14:58Speaker 2: Went and looked and I'd I did the same thing
- 15:00Speaker 2: last year, folks.
- 15:01Speaker 1: At the end of the season, in episode seven hundred,
- 15:04Speaker 1: I came up with eight goals for myself because it
- 15:08Speaker 1: was the end of the eighth season. Now here, for
- 15:11Speaker 1: the ninth season, I've only come up with five goals.
- 15:14Speaker 1: But here's the interesting part. I'm going to read you
- 15:16Speaker 1: the eight goals and tell you how I did on
- 15:18Speaker 1: last season's goals. Goal number one. I'm not doing these
- 15:22Speaker 1: in the same order they were. I'm just doing them
- 15:24Speaker 1: in the order.
- 15:24Speaker 2: I'm showing goal number one be more intentional. With Tago Gaming, I.
- 15:28Speaker 1: Had felt that the previous year I was a little
- 15:30Speaker 1: bit disconnected. I felt like I did better this year,
- 15:33Speaker 1: partly out of necessity. We had to change locations, but
- 15:36Speaker 1: also I think just taking the time to be a
- 15:38Speaker 1: little bit more observant, and I expect to continue a
- 15:43Speaker 1: continue that in the coming year. Slow down buying games. Now,
- 15:48Speaker 1: I did acquire a lot of new games this year,
- 15:50Speaker 1: but I will say I think that my percentage of
- 15:52Speaker 1: games acquired through thrifting and trading has gone up dramatically
- 15:56Speaker 1: versus my percentage of games just purchased at retail. I
- 15:59Speaker 1: would also that I have succeeded in the other half
- 16:03Speaker 1: of that, which is cull call cull. Admittedly, my collection
- 16:06Speaker 1: isn't getting smaller, but it isn't getting bigger either, So
- 16:09Speaker 1: I've done a pretty good job of maintaining roughly the
- 16:12Speaker 1: same size collection I had last year, which given the
- 16:16Speaker 1: previous year's stats where every year my collection was a
- 16:19Speaker 1: little bigger, feels pretty good to get the collection to
- 16:22Speaker 1: be the same size. And then finally, I said I
- 16:25Speaker 1: wanted to keep up with playing asynchronous games, that I've
- 16:28Speaker 1: been having a lot of fun with asynchronous games, and
- 16:30Speaker 1: I wanted to really keep.
- 16:32Speaker 2: That rhythm going.
- 16:33Speaker 1: And again I think I have done so lots of
- 16:35Speaker 1: ainger asynchronous games, played, lots of fun, had well done.
- 16:39Speaker 1: So those are four of the eight goals that I
- 16:41Speaker 1: set here are the other four. Let me know if
- 16:44Speaker 1: they sound familiar. Play more of my favorite games. I
- 16:47Speaker 1: don't know about you.
- 16:48Speaker 2: That sounds an awful lot like plan more games.
- 16:50Speaker 1: Paint more. I don't know about you, but that sounds
- 16:53Speaker 1: a lot more like paint more. Play can paint games
- 16:56Speaker 1: with my family. I'm not making this up. Last year
- 16:59Speaker 1: I said I want to play more our campaign games
- 17:00Speaker 1: with my family, and then for the first half of
- 17:02Speaker 1: the year, I think I did a pretty good job,
- 17:03Speaker 1: but we fell off so again and finally be more
- 17:07Speaker 1: intentional with my design time. I don't think I did
- 17:10Speaker 1: a great job on that this year, but apparently last
- 17:12Speaker 1: year I recognized that was a problem and wanted to
- 17:14Speaker 1: do better. So here's hope in twenty twenty six is
- 17:17Speaker 1: better that way. I did not, however, pick a top
- 17:20Speaker 1: five most anticipated games, so that's a new bit of
- 17:24Speaker 1: material for you. So if this episode was sounding a
- 17:26Speaker 1: little familiar, it is. Turns out I made the same
- 17:28Speaker 1: episode last year. Are pretty close to it. Well, here's
- 17:31Speaker 1: hoping next year I'll be able to report that I've
- 17:33Speaker 1: accomplished all the things that I wanted to and I'll
- 17:35Speaker 1: have new things for myself to try. Well, thanks for
- 17:38Speaker 1: taking the time to listen to this insert all right, future.
- 17:41Speaker 2: Brendan signing out.

- 17:48Speaker 1: and the end of my season. Want to say thank
