- 0:05Speaker 1: Welcome to Just the Cats with Michael Bennett. Hello, Big
- 0:13Speaker 1: Blue Nation.
- 0:15Speaker 2: Welcome to Just the Cats. My name is Michael Bennett
- 0:17Speaker 2: on this Thursday, October 29th. I mean, just an absolutely
- 0:22Speaker 2: beautiful week this has been, and I'm looking forward to
- 0:25Speaker 2: another great day in Louisville, Kentucky, and hopefully you are
- 0:29Speaker 2: as well. Justin Kalin is with me. Good morning, Justin.
- 0:32Speaker 1: Good morning. Howdy.
- 0:33Speaker 3: Hi.
- 0:35Speaker 1: Howdy. Howdy. Howdy, partner.
- 0:37Speaker 2: Is that something people use much anymore is the phrase
- 0:40Speaker 2: howdy or the word howdy?
- 0:42Speaker 1: I run across it every now and then. Do you really?
- 0:44Speaker 1: But what it is is Saturday's Halloween, and I'm going,
- 0:48Speaker 1: Toy Story's the theme, so I'm going dressed up as Rex,
- 0:52Speaker 1: the dinosaur, but I'm just getting my Woody voice ready. Really? Howdy, partner.
- 0:57Speaker 1: So you're going to go as Woody? No, one of
- 0:59Speaker 1: my coworkers is going as Woody.
- 1:01Speaker 2: Oh, yeah?
- 1:01Speaker 1: I'm going as Rex. I just said that. Thanks for listening.
- 1:04Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:05Speaker 1: Rex is the dinosaur. Oh, see, I don't know who
- 1:08Speaker 1: that is. Okay. Well, that makes sense. How does that
- 1:11Speaker 1: make sense? You call me a dinosaur? No, because Rex
- 1:15Speaker 1: is after a T-Rex. A T-Rex. Thank you.
- 1:21Speaker 2: So, yeah, that's why it makes sense. That's all I meant.
- 1:24Speaker 1: I thought you were calling me a dinosaur. No, I'm
- 1:27Speaker 1: not calling you a Saturday. I mean.
- 1:30Speaker 4: What?
- 1:30Speaker 1: I don't. What is happening? Do we need to restart?
- 1:33Speaker 2: I think we do. I'm trying to multitask and I'm
- 1:38Speaker 2: really sucking at it. But anyway, well, because the thing
- 1:43Speaker 2: that's interesting to me is that, you know, they say
- 1:47Speaker 2: this is going to be a really crazy Halloween because
- 1:50Speaker 2: it's on a Saturday because normally it's on like a
- 1:53Speaker 2: weekday for the most part. And kids are in school
- 1:57Speaker 2: and nothing's going on. And But now that it's on
- 2:00Speaker 2: a Saturday, lots of adults are going to partake in Halloween.
- 2:03Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 2:04Speaker 2: As well as the kids will be out everywhere. So
- 2:07Speaker 2: hopefully everybody's a little safer than they usually are with
- 2:12Speaker 2: all that happening. Here's the thing about it, though. It's
- 2:15Speaker 2: not going to happen again until 2037.
- 2:18Speaker 1: Really? Yeah. Maybe I'll have a little one by then. Oh, wow. Wow.
- 2:24Speaker 1: I like the sound of that. That's 11 years from now. Well,
- 2:27Speaker 1: it is. And let's say you would be 48.
- 2:33Speaker 5: Yes.
- 2:34Speaker 1: A little two-year-old. That sounds like a blast. So you'd
- 2:37Speaker 1: have a baby at 46? Wow. Men can have babies.
- 2:41Speaker 1: You're right. Robert De Niro just had a kid. He's 80.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Are you serious? Yeah. Come on. 80 years old. Actually,
- 2:50Speaker 1: I think he's older than that.
- 2:51Speaker 2: The kid will be... 20 when he's over 100. He'll
- 2:54Speaker 2: be long gone.
- 2:55Speaker 1: He's 83 and just had a kid this past year. Wow.
- 2:59Speaker 1: That's amazing.
- 3:00Speaker 2: There was this old actor who you've probably never heard of,
- 3:03Speaker 2: Tony Randall. You ever heard of Tony Randall?
- 3:06Speaker 1: I haven't.
- 3:06Speaker 2: He was a hilarious comedian. He was in lots of
- 3:09Speaker 2: stuff back a long time ago, as they say, in
- 3:13Speaker 2: the day. But he would come on David Letterman every
- 3:16Speaker 2: now and then and was really funny. So in his,
- 3:20Speaker 2: I think he was 80, and he married a 25-year-old
- 3:24Speaker 2: young girl.
- 3:24Speaker 1: Good for him. Really? Good for him? Yeah.
- 3:27Speaker 2: I look at that, and I think that's just odd.
- 3:29Speaker 2: It all goes back to the whole Belichick thing.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Yeah. I think it's strange. It just kind of, I
- 3:36Speaker 1: don't know, it's a little creepy. Yeah, but put yourself,
- 3:40Speaker 1: take yourself out of the looking from the outside in.
- 3:43Speaker 1: Put yourself in his shoes. How awesome would that be? Wow.
- 3:49Speaker 1: I don't know. I think I'd be exhausted for sure. Yeah.
- 3:54Speaker 2: Listen, I can't keep up with a young person. And
- 3:57Speaker 2: the thought of dating and marrying a young woman. No,
- 4:00Speaker 2: I just I don't know. I look at the parents
- 4:03Speaker 2: of the girl and I think, how do they feel
- 4:06Speaker 2: about this?
- 4:07Speaker 1: You know, it's just got to be this is just
- 4:09Speaker 1: kind of. And if I was one, this is my dad.
- 4:12Speaker 1: He's 30 years younger than you. Yeah.
- 4:14Speaker 2: And guess what? This is my step mom. And I'm
- 4:17Speaker 2: 10 years older than her. How would you like that?
- 4:20Speaker 2: I mean, that would be just, I'm not calling her mom.
- 4:23Speaker 2: I'm not calling him dad. I mean, I mean, what
- 4:27Speaker 2: if like, I'm going to step brothers, by the way,
- 4:30Speaker 2: which one of your sons is single?
- 4:32Speaker 1: Both. No one has a girlfriend. Oh, well that's single though.
- 4:36Speaker 1: But yeah. Mason is the single. Yes, you are correct.
- 4:39Speaker 1: What if he came home today and he had an
- 4:42Speaker 1: 85-year-old woman with him? Oh my gosh, no. What would
- 4:45Speaker 1: you think? I would just be so grossed out. Would you?
- 4:48Speaker 2: Oh, absolutely. I would not be happy. I'd go to
- 4:52Speaker 2: him and say, Mason, she's 25 years older than me.
- 4:55Speaker 2: Let's get you off the gun, my friend. I would
- 5:02Speaker 2: be afraid of that. It's like, dude, what's going on here?
- 5:05Speaker 2: So no, no.
- 5:06Speaker 1: All right.
- 5:07Speaker 2: So who is the Playboy actress? Pam, not Pamela Anderson.
- 5:12Speaker 2: The other one that married the old, old guy in Texas.
- 5:17Speaker 2: And then she unfortunately passed away about 10 years ago
- 5:21Speaker 2: down in Florida.
- 5:22Speaker 1: Oh, what was her name?
- 5:23Speaker 2: She used to come to Derby and her, her, her husband,
- 5:26Speaker 2: her next husband or whoever she had the baby with
- 5:30Speaker 2: is actually from Louisville.
- 5:32Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 5:32Speaker 2: You don't even know who I'm talking about. Blond-headed lady.
- 5:35Speaker 2: She was in some movies and stuff. B-rated movies.
- 5:38Speaker 1: Ah, shoot.
- 5:39Speaker 2: Because she married an old guy that was like in his...
- 5:44Speaker 2: I think mid to late 80s.
- 5:45Speaker 1: I mean, that's smart. And she was only... Really? That's smart?
- 5:49Speaker 1: That's gross. That's such an easy paycheck.
- 5:52Speaker 2: My gosh, is that all it's about is a freaking paycheck? Yeah,
- 5:55Speaker 2: at that point, yeah.
- 5:56Speaker 1: Okay. No doubt about it. Somebody's going to help me
- 5:59Speaker 1: with the name of that lady. You think Jordan Hudson's
- 6:02Speaker 1: with Bill Belichick because he's attracted to him? No, it's
- 6:05Speaker 1: because he's got a lot of money and he's close
- 6:06Speaker 1: to death. Okay, I got it now. Thank you, Jamie.
- 6:09Speaker 1: Thank you, Hoosier Hank. Anna Nicole Smith. Oh, that's right.
- 6:13Speaker 2: Yes, that's who I'm talking about. And she was married
- 6:16Speaker 2: to the oldest guy out there. And she's like, oh,
- 6:20Speaker 2: have you ever watched the movie Best in Show? I
- 6:23Speaker 2: have never seen Anna Nicole Smith in not one thing. Okay, no,
- 6:26Speaker 2: she wasn't in Best in Show. But there's this one
- 6:30Speaker 2: lady that is in the movie, and she was in
- 6:34Speaker 2: American Pie, too. She's unbelievably funny. But she's married in
- 6:39Speaker 2: the movie. She's married to an older gentleman that's probably
- 6:43Speaker 2: in his 80s. And all she talks about, oh, we
- 6:47Speaker 2: have fun talking and not talking. We both have so
- 6:52Speaker 2: much in common. We like soup. Oh, it's hilarious. It
- 6:56Speaker 2: has to be Jennifer Coolidge.
- 6:58Speaker 1: It is Jennifer Coolidge. Great guess right there. Well, I
- 7:00Speaker 1: was looking up the cast. Okay, yes.
- 7:02Speaker 2: That sounds exactly like Jennifer Coolidge. We both like talking
- 7:05Speaker 2: and not talking. Gets me every time. I mean, you
- 7:07Speaker 2: have got to go watch that movie. It is one
- 7:10Speaker 2: because it's got Eugene Levy, Christopher Guest. I mean, it's
- 7:13Speaker 2: got so many great actors in it.
- 7:14Speaker 1: It's got a lot of your favorites. Catherine O'Hara. Absolutely.
- 7:17Speaker 2: It's got all of my favorites in there. And it
- 7:21Speaker 2: is one of the funniest movies ever. And I bet
- 7:24Speaker 2: you I've watched that one. Probably up in the 30s
- 7:28Speaker 2: or 40 times. Whoa.
- 7:30Speaker 1: I love it that much. And yeah, yeah.
- 7:33Speaker 2: Eugene Levy has two left feet, literally. I mean, the
- 7:37Speaker 2: things that they come up with, just unbelievable.
- 7:39Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 7:39Speaker 1: The whole, I don't know.
- 7:41Speaker 2: Do you look down on guys that marry older women?
- 7:46Speaker 2: Or do you look up to, and you look up
- 7:50Speaker 2: to guys that marry younger women? Because why is that?
- 7:55Speaker 2: Why do we look? Because I think we do. So
- 7:58Speaker 2: I want to know why we do that.
- 8:00Speaker 1: Here's my opinion on the matter. All right. I'm ready
- 8:02Speaker 1: right now where I'm at in the stage of my life. Yes.
- 8:05Speaker 1: And for the past probably seven years, I've been attracted
- 8:10Speaker 1: to older women. Have you really? Absolutely. All right. All right.
- 8:13Speaker 1: Let's define that, though. No, we're not talking 80s, but
- 8:17Speaker 1: I would like I've seen some. ladies your age that
- 8:21Speaker 1: i've found very attractive really and if the opportunity presented
- 8:25Speaker 1: itself yeah maybe i'd maybe i'd go.
- 8:27Speaker 2: There so in other words i should be worried if
- 8:30Speaker 2: patricia decides michael i'm done with you because i had
- 8:33Speaker 2: that dream last week that she was having an affair
- 8:36Speaker 2: and uh maybe it's you then.
- 8:39Speaker 1: I mean i'm not gonna lie she would be a
- 8:40Speaker 1: candidate no doubt about it But wow. Let me finish that.
- 8:45Speaker 2: I don't know if that's a compliment or a threat.
- 8:48Speaker 1: Let me. It's certainly not a threat. I'm way too
- 8:51Speaker 1: little for that. No, but at some point I know
- 8:56Speaker 1: I'm going to reach a certain age where that's going
- 8:58Speaker 1: to flip flop. Oh, you think so? For the last
- 9:01Speaker 1: few years, I've just been curious at what age will
- 9:04Speaker 1: I stop being attracted to older women and turn my
- 9:06Speaker 1: attention to the younger women? Cause I know that'll eventually happen.
- 9:10Speaker 2: I'm telling you fish daddy, you better watch out because
- 9:12Speaker 2: if something happens, a fish mama might be after Justin Kalen.
- 9:15Speaker 2: So that's all I'm going to say right there. So it's,
- 9:21Speaker 2: you draw the line at what age then is it 60?
- 9:25Speaker 1: Oh, I mean, have you ever seen the show? Age
- 9:27Speaker 1: is just the number. No, it's like a, a speed
- 9:30Speaker 1: dating show where you've got older guys, older women, younger guys,
- 9:34Speaker 1: younger women, and they all just go on these speed dates.
- 9:37Speaker 1: That's how I feel. I mean, the age, like there
- 9:40Speaker 1: is no cutoff in terms of age. If I find
- 9:42Speaker 1: somebody attractive, I find them attractive. And if she's got
- 9:47Speaker 1: a lot of money and a fat bank account and she's,
- 9:49Speaker 1: A few years from dying makes her even more attractive.
- 9:52Speaker 1: This is the wild.
- 9:53Speaker 2: You know, we've had some wild starts to this show.
- 9:56Speaker 1: This is probably.
- 9:57Speaker 2: This is the wildest we've ever had. I just want
- 9:59Speaker 2: you to know. I think I'd agree with that.
- 10:01Speaker 1: Yeah. Okay, good. Zach, you know what?
- 10:03Speaker 2: And this is probably the earliest I've ever gone to
- 10:05Speaker 2: the text messages, but it's kind of blowing up, so
- 10:07Speaker 2: we need to get to some of these.
- 10:08Speaker 1: 502... 414, am I right? 1450. Yeah, 41414.
- 10:13Speaker 2: You know, it was funny. I told you yesterday, I
- 10:15Speaker 2: couldn't even think of the number to send to Nick Mingione.
- 10:18Speaker 2: He's like, okay, we're ready. As I texted him, he goes, Michael,
- 10:21Speaker 2: I need a number. It's like, oh, crap, man.
- 10:25Speaker 1: He's got it.
- 10:25Speaker 2: Well, I know he thinks I'm an idiot, but that's okay.
- 10:28Speaker 2: But then I couldn't even think of it. I sent
- 10:30Speaker 2: him the wrong number. And then sent them the right
- 10:33Speaker 2: number because you're telling me what the number is. It's like,
- 10:35Speaker 2: what is wrong with you, Bennett?
- 10:36Speaker 1: I swear. Come on, Bennett. I know.
- 10:39Speaker 2: Zach texted out, is that a date for Scoots?
- 10:42Speaker 1: Is that a date? Yeah.
- 10:44Speaker 5: What?
- 10:47Speaker 1: I have no idea, but maybe it is. No, I
- 10:49Speaker 1: don't have a date. Oh, okay. Oh, you do have
- 10:51Speaker 1: a date? No, I don't have a date. You need
- 10:53Speaker 1: a date.
- 10:53Speaker 2: Oh, well, is it your new radio boss over at
- 10:58Speaker 2: the other station?
- 10:58Speaker 1: Absolutely not. Is it her? No.
- 11:00Speaker 2: Yeah, I think so. All right, then. Is there a young, well,
- 11:07Speaker 2: I can't say young lady. Is there an older lady
- 11:09Speaker 2: out there that you have in mind right now? That
- 11:12Speaker 2: you have not asked out?
- 11:14Speaker 1: Yeah. See, that's the problem with the older ladies. They're
- 11:17Speaker 1: all married. Oh, okay. Don't worry. I'll die. Unless they're not. Really?
- 11:22Speaker 1: But I haven't found one.
- 11:23Speaker 2: If I'm dead, you're asking Patricia Bennett out is what
- 11:26Speaker 2: you're telling me.
- 11:27Speaker 1: Absolutely not.
- 11:28Speaker 5: Really?
- 11:29Speaker 1: I wouldn't do that. I'm dead, though. What difference would
- 11:32Speaker 1: it make? That's true. She would meet all the other criteria,
- 11:35Speaker 1: so maybe so. She would meet? What is the criteria?
- 11:39Speaker 1: I mean. Now I'm intrigued. I don't want to talk
- 11:42Speaker 1: about anything else until I hear what. No, you didn't. Attractiveness.
- 11:48Speaker 3: One.
- 11:49Speaker 1: Nice bank account.
- 11:51Speaker 2: My gosh is it all about the money with you
- 11:53Speaker 2: it's gotta be love if i'm marrying up yeah it's
- 11:56Speaker 2: gonna there's gonna be an aspect of love but if
- 11:58Speaker 2: i'm marrying up then there has to be some portion
- 12:01Speaker 2: where money's involved you're not having kids that's fine okay
- 12:05Speaker 2: what's that what else we can well at least if
- 12:07Speaker 2: i can adopt looks.
- 12:09Speaker 1: Money bank account yeah yeah what else that's it Oh.
- 12:14Speaker 2: My, you are the shallowest person I think ever met
- 12:17Speaker 2: in my life. I'm not disagreeing.
- 12:19Speaker 1: At least you do that.
- 12:20Speaker 2: So at least you're honest about it. Oh my gosh. Uh, John,
- 12:25Speaker 2: I'll get to your text in a little bit. Cause
- 12:27Speaker 2: we're going to get to basketball. Um, uh, Wisconsin guy
- 12:32Speaker 2: said G Rex.
- 12:39Speaker 1: I am getting that more and more. Very good.
- 12:43Speaker 2: Uh, Uh, 48 Hanley said Tony was half of the
- 12:46Speaker 2: odd couple.
- 12:46Speaker 1: You were right. He was half of the odd couple. Uh,
- 12:49Speaker 1: I don't remember the other guy's name.
- 12:51Speaker 2: Uh, but that was, that was Jack lemon and Walter
- 12:54Speaker 2: Matthau were the original odd couple though. Uh, 48 Hanley,
- 12:57Speaker 2: just to let you know, uh, who's your Hank said
- 13:00Speaker 2: and Nicole Smith.
- 13:01Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 13:01Speaker 2: Yeah. Everybody was helping me with that one. So I
- 13:04Speaker 2: really appreciate it. Uh, Saturday, Michael, what's he talking about?
- 13:09Speaker 1: Was it a question mark?
- 13:10Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:10Speaker 1: It's a question mark Saturday, Michael. I don't know.
- 13:16Speaker 2: UK's off Saturday. I'm going to the Breeders' Cup on Saturday.
- 13:19Speaker 2: I'm looking forward to it. Are you going to dress up?
- 13:21Speaker 1: Can you dress up? Me? Not you specifically, but if
- 13:27Speaker 1: people are going out to Keeneland on Saturday, can you
- 13:29Speaker 1: wear a Halloween costume? Oh, no. I know that's not
- 13:32Speaker 1: par for the course with Keeneland. Yeah, it's not. But
- 13:35Speaker 1: how often are they actually racing on Halloweens? That's a
- 13:38Speaker 1: fair question, but no. I should be able to wear
- 13:40Speaker 1: a costume if I want.
- 13:42Speaker 2: No, it's not going to happen. That's the part about
- 13:45Speaker 2: Keeneland I cannot stand the most. They're snooty over there.
- 13:49Speaker 1: If they were racing at Churchill, everybody would be in costume. No,
- 13:53Speaker 1: I disagree with that, too. A bunch of people would be.
- 13:56Speaker 2: Well, I think some would be. I wouldn't say a bunch. But, yeah,
- 14:02Speaker 2: I don't do costumes. I was invited to two or
- 14:06Speaker 2: three different costume parties. I said, no, I'm not doing it.
- 14:11Speaker 2: Because the Breeders' Cup was my number one excuse. And
- 14:14Speaker 2: Patricia was like, Michael, we can go after the Breeders' Cup.
- 14:16Speaker 2: I'm like, Patricia, I'm not doing a costume.
- 14:19Speaker 1: Come on, man. I'm just not. No, I'm not doing it.
- 14:22Speaker 2: No.
- 14:22Speaker 3: No.
- 14:23Speaker 2: You only get to wear a costume once a year.
- 14:25Speaker 2: I don't want to do it. That's not in Michael
- 14:29Speaker 2: Bennett's DNA, just to let you know.
- 14:31Speaker 1: I just don't do costumes. Sorry. Why?
- 14:36Speaker 2: Because I don't want somebody to get a picture of
- 14:38Speaker 2: me and then make fun of me.
- 14:40Speaker 1: Who cares? Yeah. Well, that's the reason. I mean, I just,
- 14:44Speaker 1: I think they're silly. You are at the age where
- 14:47Speaker 1: you should not care what people think about you. Yeah.
- 14:49Speaker 1: Because I'm that way and I'm 37.
- 14:51Speaker 2: You know, majority of the time I am that way.
- 14:54Speaker 2: But with that, I don't know. It's just a little
- 14:56Speaker 2: personal thing. It's just like, no, it's just goofy. So
- 14:59Speaker 2: I just, that's a personal preference. I'm not saying you're
- 15:02Speaker 2: goofy or anybody else that dresses up. I think it's
- 15:05Speaker 2: a lot of fun. I just, I'm not into it.
- 15:08Speaker 2: So fun that you don't do it. No, I'm not
- 15:10Speaker 2: doing it. And Mason's dressing up as something. Max is
- 15:13Speaker 2: dressing up going to a big party and going up
- 15:16Speaker 2: as his girlfriend or going as a couple. and dressing
- 15:20Speaker 2: up as i don't remember what it was but i
- 15:22Speaker 2: and patricia's like come on michael let's hear me yeah
- 15:26Speaker 2: and i'm like no i'm not doing it and then
- 15:28Speaker 2: she goes hang me hang him right back at me so.
- 15:31Speaker 1: Tell patricia when you get home that i'll dress.
- 15:33Speaker 2: Up really okay all right then well you dress up
- 15:36Speaker 2: i'm scared of what you would dress up you'd probably
- 15:38Speaker 2: dress up as the nurse and want her to dress
- 15:40Speaker 2: up as a doctor and i yeah we're not having
- 15:42Speaker 2: that uh One person texted, keeping up or it up
- 15:47Speaker 2: is easier thanks to game day pens. Well, this episode
- 15:56Speaker 2: is really interesting this morning. The hell with sports.
- 15:59Speaker 1: Come on.
- 16:05Speaker 2: The texts that we get in so early in this
- 16:08Speaker 2: show just make me crack up.
- 16:10Speaker 1: Oh, that was a good one.
- 16:11Speaker 2: Scoots likes them older. That's why he's dressed as a dinosaur.
- 16:19Speaker 2: He's digging for his Jurassic geriatric mama.
- 16:22Speaker 1: Jamie never, never.
- 16:29Speaker 1: I'm going to tell you right now.
- 16:31Speaker 2: Zach says, Scoots dressing up with whoever that is on Saturday.
- 16:37Speaker 2: Is that a date for Scoots? Yes, absolutely. No, it's
- 16:42Speaker 2: not a date. It's actually a work function.
- 16:44Speaker 1: Oh, sure. Hold on.
- 16:47Speaker 2: Work function. It's a work function. Yeah, sure it is.
- 16:50Speaker 2: What work function are you referring to, by the way?
- 16:53Speaker 1: Trick or treat at the track. How's that a work function?
- 16:57Speaker 1: Because we have to be there. We have a tent
- 17:00Speaker 1: set up. At what track? Candy to pass out. At
- 17:02Speaker 1: what track? It's actually at the Harrison County Fairgrounds. There
- 17:06Speaker 1: is a horse track around there. They actually did harness
- 17:09Speaker 1: racing not too long ago. Seriously? Over the summer, yeah,
- 17:12Speaker 1: they did harness racing. Okay. It was pretty cool. I
- 17:15Speaker 1: didn't know there was harness racing around the area. I
- 17:18Speaker 1: didn't either. And I don't think it's an annual thing
- 17:20Speaker 1: for them. I think it was just like a one-off. Yeah.
- 17:22Speaker 1: But it's pretty cool. Wow.
- 17:24Speaker 2: Okay, because, you know, they opened a new track over
- 17:26Speaker 2: in eastern Kentucky.
- 17:27Speaker 1: Did they?
- 17:28Speaker 2: Yeah, and I don't think they're doing quarter horse racing.
- 17:32Speaker 2: It's the first time in many, we talked about it
- 17:34Speaker 2: not too long ago, it's the first time in many
- 17:35Speaker 2: years that they've had quarter horse racing, which is interesting.
- 17:39Speaker 2: I mean, I don't think I would want to go
- 17:41Speaker 2: to quarter horse racing on a daily basis. It's just
- 17:43Speaker 2: too short.
- 17:44Speaker 1: Yeah. So, anyway. Hard to win. It is. All right.
- 17:48Speaker 1: We got to get back on task. I know it's
- 17:50Speaker 1: going to be hard, but because I'm looking. That's no fun.
- 17:53Speaker 2: It isn't because I would rather talk about this than
- 17:55Speaker 2: anything else. But no, we're going to talk about some
- 17:58Speaker 2: UK basketball because that was a little bit of a concern.
- 18:01Speaker 2: I know that game means absolutely nothing. But if it's
- 18:06Speaker 2: a precursor to the rest of the season, I'm a
- 18:07Speaker 2: little fearful. There were some good moments. There were some
- 18:10Speaker 2: good moments. The Overtown was really good, too. So we're
- 18:13Speaker 2: going to talk about that as soon as we get back.
- 18:14Speaker 2: If you want to join us, 502-384-1450. If you want
- 18:18Speaker 2: to text me on the Whiskey Thief text line, don't
- 18:20Speaker 2: text Justin now. I don't need ladies texting Justin. Justin,
- 18:25Speaker 2: I'm 76 years old and available. Please don't be doing that.
- 18:29Speaker 1: Where are we meeting? 502-414-1450. I'm halfway not.
- 18:32Speaker 2: Going to give the phone number out. I got six
- 18:37Speaker 2: numbers tonight. One more and I would have had seven.
- 18:40Speaker 2: But anyway, we're going to leave it at that. This
- 18:44Speaker 2: is just the cat. Stay right there. We got a
- 18:45Speaker 2: lot more to go.
- 19:00Speaker 1: This is my third.
- 19:42Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm chillin' on the dirt road Laid back, swimmin'
- 19:47Speaker 5: like I'm George Jones Smoke rollin' out the window An
- 19:53Speaker 5: ice cold beer sittin' in.
- 19:55Speaker 3: The console Memory laid up in the headlights It's got
- 20:01Speaker 3: me reminiscin' on the good times.
- 20:05Speaker 5: I'm turning off a real life drive and that's right.
- 20:09Speaker 5: I'm hitting easy street on what time?
- 20:11Speaker 2: See, I kind of crashed Steven Peake yesterday on Kentucky
- 20:17Speaker 2: Roll Call.
- 20:17Speaker 1: I don't know if you know that or not. I
- 20:19Speaker 1: don't know.
- 20:19Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 20:20Speaker 2: So he was getting ready to talk about, you know,
- 20:23Speaker 2: the whole Tyler Childress thing and that song and stuff.
- 20:27Speaker 2: And so I came and crashed and I said, I
- 20:28Speaker 2: need to give my opinion. He goes, but Michael, you
- 20:31Speaker 2: and I agree. And I'm like, oh, really? So then
- 20:33Speaker 2: we started discussion.
- 20:35Speaker 1: Wait, you were on Roll Call? I was. Really? Yeah.
- 20:38Speaker 1: That must have been the second hour.
- 20:40Speaker 5: It was.
- 20:41Speaker 2: I told you I crashed the show. And so it
- 20:44Speaker 2: was the second hour. I was about.
- 20:46Speaker 1: To say, I listened to the whole first hour. Oh,
- 20:47Speaker 1: you did? Okay.
- 20:48Speaker 2: No, it was the second hour. And then he starts
- 20:52Speaker 2: discussing Jimmy Buffett and how he's country.
- 20:58Speaker 1: I agree. Oh, you do? Yep.
- 21:01Speaker 2: Oh, I couldn't disagree more. And Trevor was on my side.
- 21:05Speaker 1: The majority, I don't think all of Jimmy Buffett's country,
- 21:09Speaker 1: but I would say the majority is. Really? Okay. Interesting.
- 21:13Speaker 1: It's like a beach country. It's not. A Caribbean country
- 21:17Speaker 1: is what I call it. There you go. There you go.
- 21:19Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 21:19Speaker 2: And so I said, no, there's no– I can see
- 21:23Speaker 2: tones of country in it, but it's no. The vast
- 21:26Speaker 2: majority of it is not country. I think you nailed it.
- 21:29Speaker 2: Caribbean country.
- 21:30Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 21:30Speaker 2: So anyway, I just like, no, it's country. It's like, no,
- 21:34Speaker 2: you talk about– and I had fun debating that with him.
- 21:37Speaker 2: Here I came in to battle with him about that
- 21:40Speaker 2: little song everybody likes that I'm probably– I'm not the
- 21:44Speaker 2: only one, by the way, that doesn't like it, but
- 21:47Speaker 2: we all agreed it should be played when the game's
- 21:49Speaker 2: out of hand in the fourth quarter or after the game.
- 21:52Speaker 2: That's when it should be played. I'm going to go
- 21:54Speaker 2: back and listen to that.
- 21:55Speaker 1: Yeah, it was fun.
- 21:58Speaker 2: I tell you who you should dress up as. If
- 22:00Speaker 2: you find your elderly lady that you want to go
- 22:02Speaker 2: out with, you should dress up as an old man
- 22:05Speaker 2: and she should dress up as a young woman.
- 22:08Speaker 1: I was thinking, well, that would be weird. Never mind. No,
- 22:11Speaker 1: I want to hear it. No, no, no, no. I
- 22:12Speaker 1: want to hear it now. I was thinking like Happy
- 22:15Speaker 1: Gilmore and his grandma. Ah, that's a great one. How
- 22:19Speaker 1: is that weird?
- 22:20Speaker 2: Because they're related. I think that would make it weird. No,
- 22:23Speaker 2: that makes it even sexier. Are you kidding? uh one
- 22:26Speaker 2: person texted out uh scooters uh dates don't know how
- 22:31Speaker 2: to text they use the landline and the giant button
- 22:35Speaker 2: so they can hear the numbers scoots bringing new meaning
- 22:38Speaker 2: to his checks.
- 22:39Speaker 1: They actually use the rotary phones geez do you even
- 22:44Speaker 1: remember rotary phones do you really me and my best
- 22:47Speaker 1: friend we would We would prank call so many people
- 22:50Speaker 1: using that rotary phone. We would just pick a random number. Oh,
- 22:53Speaker 1: it was great.
- 22:54Speaker 2: Have you seen that one infomercial where the two elderly
- 22:59Speaker 2: people are talking to their grandkid, and it's typing out
- 23:04Speaker 2: what the kid is saying, and they're all relieved. Hey,
- 23:07Speaker 2: I used to play that position.
- 23:10Speaker 1: You don't know that? I don't know. Oh, my gosh.
- 23:11Speaker 2: It's a terrible commercial. But they're talking about a telephone
- 23:14Speaker 2: that now you don't have to hear. You can just
- 23:17Speaker 2: read what is being said.
- 23:18Speaker 1: That must play during the day. Yeah. Oh, is that
- 23:20Speaker 1: what it is? That's when all the old people commercial. Oh,
- 23:24Speaker 1: is that what you're saying? If you watch daytime TV, yeah,
- 23:27Speaker 1: you see a lot of commercials catered to the old.
- 23:30Speaker 1: A lot of commercials. Is it really? Oh, yeah. Huh.
- 23:33Speaker 2: Because they're in bed by what? No, I mean, they're
- 23:36Speaker 2: just they don't do anything. They sit around and watch
- 23:38Speaker 2: TV all day.
- 23:39Speaker 1: Yeah. Well, I mean. When I was a kid, I
- 23:42Speaker 1: always thought that the old people went to bed early.
- 23:44Speaker 1: They do.
- 23:45Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 23:46Speaker 2: And I'm kind of like, am I getting that way?
- 23:48Speaker 2: Because I'm up at 4 or 5 o'clock in the morning.
- 23:52Speaker 2: I'm going to bed at 9. So I'm eating dinner
- 23:54Speaker 2: around 5 or 6. If it's later than 6, I
- 23:57Speaker 2: get grumpy.
- 23:58Speaker 1: I've been doing this really annoying thing for the last
- 24:01Speaker 1: two weeks where I wake up at 5 o'clock on
- 24:04Speaker 1: the dot every single morning. Yeah. And it's like, well, cool.
- 24:07Speaker 1: Now I've got a decision to make. Do I just
- 24:08Speaker 1: get up or do I sleep another 40 minutes? Yeah.
- 24:10Speaker 1: What decision do you think I make? I think you'd
- 24:13Speaker 1: lay down a little longer. Absolutely.
- 24:15Speaker 2: Yeah, I figured you would. Bo Derek used to stop
- 24:17Speaker 2: by Doc's barn. She seemed to be holding up pretty well.
- 24:22Speaker 2: I have a picture of her. Doc and Gail the
- 24:25Speaker 2: hot walker. That's pretty cool. Gail looked as good as Bo.
- 24:30Speaker 1: Wow. I don't know who.
- 24:32Speaker 2: I think I know who Doc is. I don't know
- 24:33Speaker 2: who Gail is. But anyway, thank you for the handily.
- 24:36Speaker 2: All right, let's talk about the UK basketball game last night.
- 24:39Speaker 1: Okay, still a looker for what it's worth. Do you
- 24:42Speaker 1: think so? Yeah.
- 24:44Speaker 2: I would agree with that. I mean, Selma Hayek is
- 24:47Speaker 2: my favorite. And she's in her 50s, isn't she?
- 24:51Speaker 1: Is she that old?
- 24:52Speaker 2: I believe so. She's special. Look how old she is.
- 24:56Speaker 2: She's 60.
- 24:59Speaker 1: Is she really? I mean, I am never in a
- 25:03Speaker 1: million years saying no to Selma Hayek. No.
- 25:06Speaker 2: If she's 60. Besides my wife, I think she is
- 25:09Speaker 2: the most beautiful woman in the world. I've always loved her.
- 25:12Speaker 1: I agree.
- 25:13Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 25:13Speaker 1: All right. Let's talk about UK basketball. UK wins. Woo-hoo.
- 25:18Speaker 1: But it wasn't pretty. A little sketchy. All right. Let's
- 25:24Speaker 1: talk about some of these players.
- 25:26Speaker 2: Because Alex Wilkins, who raced the... the length of the floor,
- 25:33Speaker 2: and hit the game-winning floater, I predict he's going to
- 25:36Speaker 2: be doing more of that.
- 25:37Speaker 1: That's my MVP for the year, if you remember.
- 25:39Speaker 2: I do remember that. And he's already proven it three
- 25:43Speaker 2: games into exhibition. So, I mean, UK dominated this game.
- 25:51Speaker 2: They were up by 13 points, went on a 13-4
- 25:55Speaker 2: run with, what, three minutes left in the first half?
- 25:59Speaker 2: But then they led by 13, and then UCF went
- 26:03Speaker 2: on a 13-4 run and kept the pressure on after
- 26:06Speaker 2: the break. The turnovers are killing Kentucky. Kentucky missed both
- 26:11Speaker 2: free throws on a late trip to the line, and
- 26:13Speaker 2: UCS Malone split a pair to go up 71-69 with
- 26:16Speaker 2: five seconds left. Three free throws are definitely a talking point, okay?
- 26:24Speaker 2: That's another part that's really worrying me. The defense was
- 26:29Speaker 2: hit or miss, and that's the one thing. Either it
- 26:31Speaker 2: was good at one point or it was bad at
- 26:33Speaker 2: another point. Oh, it was good when it needed to be. Well,
- 26:35Speaker 2: that's a fair point as well.
- 26:37Speaker 1: And I think in these exhibition games, that's something that
- 26:39Speaker 1: gets lost in the shuffle a lot is you're getting
- 26:42Speaker 1: a lot of players in that probably aren't going to
- 26:44Speaker 1: see that much playing time in the regular season, especially
- 26:47Speaker 1: in exhibition game number three.
- 26:48Speaker 2: Right.
- 26:50Speaker 1: I feel like so many times you go in with
- 26:52Speaker 1: the mindset of an exhibition game of, well, let's just
- 26:55Speaker 1: work on something, but just, let's just see what works,
- 26:58Speaker 1: what doesn't. So that's why I don't really read too
- 27:00Speaker 1: much into the exhibition games, but I get your concerns
- 27:04Speaker 1: for sure. Well, can we talk about Mason Williams for
- 27:07Speaker 1: a minute? Yeah.
- 27:08Speaker 2: He's awesome. He is the bright spot. I mean, the
- 27:12Speaker 2: freshman guard finished with 18 points. How do you like that?
- 27:15Speaker 1: Yeah. But the biggest concern is.
- 27:21Speaker 2: I think the biggest concern in the entire game was
- 27:22Speaker 2: zoom Diallo. I, he has struggled in these exhibition games.
- 27:28Speaker 1: I mean, do you see a, yes. The answer is yes.
- 27:33Speaker 1: Williams taken over for him in the starting lineup. Or
- 27:36Speaker 1: would you rather have Williams production off the bench? Because
- 27:39Speaker 1: that's a great point. You put zoom on the bench,
- 27:42Speaker 1: then you're going to expect stuff out of him coming
- 27:44Speaker 1: in with that second unit. Yeah.
- 27:47Speaker 2: I say for right now, you keep it as is.
- 27:50Speaker 2: Because clearly Mason's comfortable coming off the bench and doesn't
- 27:55Speaker 2: expect to start. So I say you keep it as
- 27:59Speaker 2: is for right now. But if it starts getting worse
- 28:01Speaker 2: and worse and nothing is improving, then you got to
- 28:04Speaker 2: make a move.
- 28:04Speaker 1: Don't you think? I just worry about that second unit
- 28:09Speaker 1: if that's the case. I mean, I don't. I don't
- 28:13Speaker 1: hate the idea, although I do think there's enough scoring
- 28:16Speaker 1: and playmaking on that first unit where you don't really
- 28:18Speaker 1: need much from Zoom. You just need him to be
- 28:22Speaker 1: like Kenny Menchie, really. I mean, just be a game manager,
- 28:25Speaker 1: take care of the ball, get the ball in your
- 28:27Speaker 1: playmaker's hands, and let them work.
- 28:29Speaker 2: Well, some would say the defense has outperformed preceded expectations.
- 28:34Speaker 2: I would say yes at some points, yes. At other points, no.
- 28:37Speaker 2: While other notes, UK gave UCF too many open looks,
- 28:43Speaker 2: and that's what fueled the run like that 12-3 stretch.
- 28:47Speaker 1: I mean, which is it?
- 28:49Speaker 2: I mean, is it the defense that's underperforming, or is
- 28:53Speaker 2: it the offense that's letting us down?
- 28:57Speaker 1: What do you think? It's really tough to say at
- 29:03Speaker 1: this point in the season because you haven't played a
- 29:06Speaker 1: real game yet. And I don't know that, like I
- 29:09Speaker 1: just said, I don't know how much of what we
- 29:11Speaker 1: saw in these exhibition games is actually going to carry
- 29:14Speaker 1: over to the regular season. But I think defensively is
- 29:20Speaker 1: where this team is not necessarily going to struggle. It's
- 29:23Speaker 1: just not going to be as strong as the offense. Yeah.
- 29:26Speaker 1: I mean, I get it. But you had the height
- 29:28Speaker 1: and the length to be a great defensive team. So
- 29:31Speaker 1: I don't even feel comfortable saying that. I know. And
- 29:34Speaker 1: I know it's October. It doesn't count.
- 29:38Speaker 2: But it showed us both the ceiling with the league.
- 29:41Speaker 1: Yeah you know what i mean but now you know
- 29:43Speaker 1: where to put the bucket.
- 29:44Speaker 2: Well exactly wow nice comeback right there you put it
- 29:49Speaker 2: in the bucket by the way uh fix the free
- 29:51Speaker 2: throws and the point guard play before manhattan And that
- 29:56Speaker 2: overtime version of Kentucky is the one we really want
- 29:59Speaker 2: to see all season, you know, because that's where they
- 30:02Speaker 2: were dominant. They all completely, completely dominant, dominant in the overtime.
- 30:07Speaker 2: That's the part I like. That's the part of this
- 30:09Speaker 2: UK team I really want to see. But man, I'm
- 30:13Speaker 2: telling you, Alex Wilkins, Mason Williams, they were fun to watch.
- 30:19Speaker 1: I mean, you didn't even, you're not even bringing up Milan,
- 30:24Speaker 1: who was the leading scorer, right?
- 30:26Speaker 3: Who?
- 30:27Speaker 1: Mylon. Mylon, yeah. You're right. He was the leading scorer.
- 30:30Speaker 1: But is that just– I mean, is that how it's
- 30:31Speaker 1: going to be all season with him? Like we don't
- 30:33Speaker 1: even– like he's just going to put up 20 and
- 30:35Speaker 1: nobody even bats an eye because that's just what he's
- 30:37Speaker 1: expected to do? Probably so.
- 30:44Speaker 2: I think he will get overlooked because the expectations are there.
- 30:49Speaker 2: You know the one person I'm leaving out, and I
- 30:52Speaker 2: thought you might bring him up, Braden Hawthorne.
- 30:54Speaker 1: Oh, he had some really good moments. Yeah, he did.
- 30:57Speaker 1: That block late in the game was freaking awesome.
- 31:00Speaker 2: I just wish he would gain some weight. That's the
- 31:02Speaker 2: only part that worries me about him. But you can
- 31:04Speaker 2: see the potential with him.
- 31:06Speaker 1: Oh, no, no. I think the potential's there. He's very lengthy.
- 31:09Speaker 1: I mean, he's kind of an awkward-looking guy, almost like
- 31:13Speaker 1: a Stretch Armstrong doll, like somebody just took his fingers
- 31:16Speaker 1: and stretched them out too much. Oh, yeah, you're exactly right.
- 31:18Speaker 1: I think he's going to be really good. I don't
- 31:20Speaker 1: know if it'll all come together. for him this year,
- 31:23Speaker 1: but I do think he'll have some really good moments
- 31:25Speaker 1: this season. I just don't know if it'll, as a whole,
- 31:28Speaker 1: if they'll come together. Yeah, exactly.
- 31:29Speaker 2: So, all right, we're going to take a break because
- 31:32Speaker 2: I want to leave plenty of time because I am
- 31:34Speaker 2: looking forward to this, and I want all the listeners
- 31:37Speaker 2: to join in. This is your idea here, and you
- 31:43Speaker 2: wanted to bring up what are the three crazy things
- 31:47Speaker 2: that you believe will happen This upcoming basketball season.
- 31:51Speaker 1: Yeah. Three crazy. And truthfully, I got more than three.
- 31:54Speaker 1: I got four. You got four. All right.
- 31:56Speaker 2: And I want to see. And it doesn't have to
- 31:58Speaker 2: be positive. Doesn't have to be negative. I would like
- 32:00Speaker 2: combination of both. And I know you got a combination.
- 32:03Speaker 2: I got a bit of a combination. So let's talk
- 32:05Speaker 2: about that. What are the three crazy things? What is
- 32:09Speaker 2: wrong with my mouth right now? What are the three?
- 32:11Speaker 2: I think it's the three and crazy.
- 32:14Speaker 1: Three crazy. That's it. Three crazy things. There we go.
- 32:17Speaker 2: Too many THs there that you believe will happen this
- 32:22Speaker 2: upcoming basketball season. I mean, outlandish things, okay? We'll talk
- 32:26Speaker 2: about that next.
- 32:26Speaker 1: Stay right there. Just the Cats coming right back.
- 32:32Speaker 5: Smoke rolling out the window. An ice cold beer sitting
- 32:37Speaker 5: in a concert.
- 32:43Speaker 3: We'll see you next time.
- 33:07Speaker 4: Been up since the crack of dawn just trying to
- 33:10Speaker 4: get paid been hotter than a hundred suns i can't
- 33:15Speaker 4: find no shade just two more rows and i'm good
- 33:19Speaker 4: to go yeah i'm shutting this tractor down give me
- 33:22Speaker 4: a half an hour for a shave and a shower
- 33:25Speaker 4: and i'll be outside your house might.
- 33:27Speaker 2: Have a little you know it's really funny but i'm
- 33:30Speaker 2: When we talk about ridiculous comments, the text line goes nuts.
- 33:34Speaker 2: When we talk about sports, it dies. Completely dies. I
- 33:37Speaker 2: don't get it. I really do not understand why when
- 33:42Speaker 2: we talk.
- 33:42Speaker 1: It's a UK show. I figured a lot of people
- 33:44Speaker 1: wouldn't talk about the UK game. Well, it's like the
- 33:47Speaker 1: text we got in the first segment. Screw sports! Exactly, but... Anyway, 502-414-1450.
- 33:53Speaker 2: You want to text 502-384-1450. You want to call in.
- 34:00Speaker 1: John here.
- 34:01Speaker 2: Hey, Michael, I'm not mad at our basketball cats. They
- 34:04Speaker 2: got a win in a tough exhibition game. UCF will
- 34:07Speaker 2: be a tournament team just like us. I don't know
- 34:11Speaker 2: because the expectations are low down in Orlando with Central Florida.
- 34:15Speaker 2: So I'm not convinced of that. We did find a
- 34:19Speaker 2: clutch player in Wilkins and maybe Mason Williams should be
- 34:22Speaker 2: the starting PG. Hey, I believe the Cats will have
- 34:26Speaker 2: fewer than 10 losses this season. They will win the
- 34:29Speaker 2: regular season or SEC tournament. Also, they will make the
- 34:33Speaker 2: Elite Eight or better than the NCAA tournament this year.
- 34:37Speaker 1: We shall see. I believe this can all come true.
- 34:41Speaker 4: Wow.
- 34:42Speaker 1: Okay. Do you have team aspects in yours? Because I
- 34:47Speaker 1: just went with only the players because I simply don't
- 34:51Speaker 1: know what to expect from this team in terms of
- 34:54Speaker 1: how far they'll go and all that. So all mine
- 34:56Speaker 1: are just player stuff. Oh, it is? Okay. Yeah. No,
- 34:59Speaker 1: I had team aspects as well.
- 35:00Speaker 2: Okay.
- 35:01Speaker 1: I like that. Anyway. All right. Should we get to them? Yeah,
- 35:03Speaker 1: let's do it. All right. This is yours. You introduce it.
- 35:08Speaker 1: So basically, yeah, we're just going to name crazy things
- 35:12Speaker 1: that we think are going to happen this season. When
- 35:13Speaker 1: they come out of our mouth, they're probably going to
- 35:15Speaker 1: sound gross, but things that we truly believe are going
- 35:19Speaker 1: to happen this upcoming season, we're not going to get
- 35:21Speaker 1: them all right. We know that, but It's prediction season.
- 35:25Speaker 1: Let's ask some fun. Let's make some predictions. Let's alternate, okay?
- 35:28Speaker 1: I'll go first. Then you go. I'll go. You go. Okay, good.
- 35:31Speaker 1: Sounds good. All right.
- 35:32Speaker 2: The first one I came up. Kentucky leads the nation
- 35:35Speaker 2: in threes with a Twin Towers lineup. Wow. This roster,
- 35:41Speaker 2: I'm telling you, is unusually big and built around, obviously,
- 35:45Speaker 2: Milan Momchilovic and Malachi Moreno, even though I want to
- 35:50Speaker 2: call it.
- 35:51Speaker 1: Call him something completely different. Malaki. I mean, sorry.
- 35:55Speaker 2: I know it's not Malaki or Malaki. But in the
- 36:00Speaker 2: wild version is that Pope runs jumbo lineups where everyone
- 36:04Speaker 2: over 6'9 can shoot. And UK goes from preseason afterthought
- 36:09Speaker 2: to a top 10 offense.
- 36:10Speaker 1: So there you go. There's my first one. Okay. My
- 36:13Speaker 1: first one. We almost saw it last night. So maybe
- 36:18Speaker 1: this is a little recency bias on my part. But
- 36:21Speaker 1: I think Malachi Moreno has multiple triple doubles. Wow.
- 36:27Speaker 2: Yeah, because he had how many points was it?
- 36:31Speaker 1: He was two assists away from a triple double. Exactly. Yeah,
- 36:34Speaker 1: he had eight assists. I predict he has multiple this year. Whoa.
- 36:40Speaker 2: Wow, that's pretty strong right there. Yeah, Malachi had 16 points,
- 36:45Speaker 2: 14 rebounds, and eight assists. Yeah. Or 16 points, yeah.
- 36:48Speaker 2: Won't be the last time you see that. That's a
- 36:51Speaker 2: huge one right there. All right. Are you ready for this?
- 36:56Speaker 1: Uh-huh.
- 36:57Speaker 2: I predict that here's my negative one. I'm trying to
- 37:01Speaker 2: get this out.
- 37:01Speaker 1: Of the way. All right. I'll go negative next, too.
- 37:03Speaker 2: Milan Momtilevich will be the biggest bust and will not
- 37:06Speaker 2: be drafted in the NBA after this.
- 37:08Speaker 1: Whoa. There you go.
- 37:10Speaker 2: That's the one idea. That's not happening. That's why I
- 37:16Speaker 2: said it. Because as soon as I say it, the
- 37:18Speaker 2: opposite will happen is what I'm hoping will happen. So
- 37:21Speaker 2: that's my crazy one. Or Milan will be drafted.
- 37:24Speaker 1: You think so? However. I hope so. My negative one
- 37:27Speaker 1: also has to do with Milan. So we made a
- 37:30Speaker 1: lot in this offseason about his three-point shooting and how
- 37:34Speaker 1: he was the best in the country last year at
- 37:36Speaker 1: over 46%. I predict this year. that Momchilovic will shoot
- 37:42Speaker 1: less than 38% from three.
- 37:44Speaker 3: Whoa!
- 37:45Speaker 1: So you and I are picking on him. Yeah. The
- 37:48Speaker 1: same player. Yeah. Oh, wow.
- 37:51Speaker 2: Less than 38% from three this year. And typically, when
- 37:54Speaker 2: we predict the same thing, we're absolutely incorrect. So I'm
- 37:57Speaker 2: hoping that's.
- 37:58Speaker 1: Going to be the case. Oh, Milan Momchilovic, player of
- 38:00Speaker 1: the year. All right, here we go. Number three. Mark
- 38:03Speaker 1: Pope goes from hot seat to final four in one season. Whoa.
- 38:08Speaker 1: How do you like that one? Yes. It's a defining
- 38:11Speaker 1: third year for Mark Pope.
- 38:12Speaker 3: It is.
- 38:13Speaker 2: Expectations are low. Let's be completely realistic about that. Of course,
- 38:18Speaker 2: you got the early test is going to be pretty
- 38:19Speaker 2: brutal between Kansas, IU, UofL, and North Carolina. I'm going
- 38:24Speaker 2: to predict they're going to go 4-0 with all those games.
- 38:29Speaker 1: All right. All right. I love how you respond to that.
- 38:33Speaker 1: You're like, yeah, right. That's basically. Yeah. Yeah. Here's what's
- 38:37Speaker 1: going to happen.
- 38:38Speaker 2: With that, with the UK team going 4-0 in all
- 38:41Speaker 2: those games, the narrative is going to completely flip. Go
- 38:45Speaker 2: from 0-4 and on the hot seat to guess what?
- 38:48Speaker 2: We're having the best Christmas ever.
- 38:50Speaker 1: I mean, I told you I wanted some crazy ones.
- 38:52Speaker 1: That is certainly a crazy one. So well done by you.
- 38:56Speaker 1: And you don't buy it at all. Not really. Okay.
- 38:59Speaker 1: All right. Let's see if you buy my next one.
- 39:01Speaker 1: All right. I'm ready. Kentucky will have two players in
- 39:05Speaker 1: the top 10 of voting for the SEC player of
- 39:08Speaker 1: the year. Whoa.
- 39:10Speaker 5: Really?
- 39:10Speaker 1: Okay. I don't know who. Oh, you don't? I don't
- 39:13Speaker 1: know who quite yet, but they will have two players
- 39:16Speaker 1: in the top 10 of the final voting. Really? All right.
- 39:19Speaker 1: Let's try to predict who those players will be. I
- 39:23Speaker 1: right now would say... Because I would... I would... I'm sorry.
- 39:27Speaker 1: I would add one more thing to it. I think...
- 39:30Speaker 1: UK will have freshmen of the year as well. Well,
- 39:32Speaker 1: that's my next one. Oh, so, okay. I'm sorry. Go ahead.
- 39:35Speaker 1: Steal my thunder. I am so sorry. Go ahead. Right
- 39:37Speaker 1: now for the two players that I'd be looking towards
- 39:40Speaker 1: would be a Wilkins and probably Milan. Those, those feel
- 39:44Speaker 1: like the safe picks as of right now, but If
- 39:46Speaker 1: we're looking at the end of the year at the
- 39:48Speaker 1: SEC Player of the Year standings and it's two other guys,
- 39:52Speaker 1: would I be surprised?
- 39:52Speaker 4: No.
- 39:53Speaker 1: Right. Because there's just enough talent on this team where
- 39:55Speaker 1: it can be spread out, and who knows what ends
- 39:57Speaker 1: up happening. Right, right. Okay. Go on. And then my
- 40:02Speaker 1: last one, my honorable mention that you just stole from me.
- 40:07Speaker 1: Mason Williams will be the SEC freshman of the year.
- 40:09Speaker 1: And you know what's funny? That's mine too. That is
- 40:12Speaker 1: hilarious that you and I have the exact same one.
- 40:14Speaker 1: Is that an overreaction from last night? Honestly, and I'm
- 40:20Speaker 1: looking at this realistically, I don't think so. He has
- 40:24Speaker 1: looked so good in these exhibition games. I don't think
- 40:28Speaker 1: it's an overreaction whatsoever. I think because of his dad,
- 40:33Speaker 1: growing up with a coach, growing up with a very
- 40:35Speaker 1: well-known and productive player, I think that it is transforming
- 40:41Speaker 1: into his own son. And I really think he is
- 40:45Speaker 1: playing beyond his years. Yeah. They even said that on
- 40:48Speaker 1: the broadcast. Oh, they did really? Yeah. He doesn't look
- 40:51Speaker 1: like a freshman. And I'm like, yeah, you're right. He
- 40:52Speaker 1: really doesn't. No, not at all. Jimmy Dykes wasn't bad
- 40:56Speaker 1: last night. I didn't hear about the jet. So that
- 40:58Speaker 1: was a pause. Okay, good.
- 41:00Speaker 2: Well, maybe he's beyond that. So, but no, I I'm
- 41:02Speaker 2: right there with you. I really think Mason, uh, Williams
- 41:07Speaker 2: is going to be freshman of the year. And I
- 41:09Speaker 2: do not believe that's an overreaction.
- 41:11Speaker 1: Well, and a lot, a lot of that for me
- 41:13Speaker 1: has to do with like last year, you had a
- 41:15Speaker 1: ton of really, really talented freshmen, whether it was Darius
- 41:19Speaker 1: Acuff or Nate Ament, but I, There's freshman talent in
- 41:23Speaker 1: the SEC this year. I just don't know that there's
- 41:25Speaker 1: top-level freshman talent like there typically is. Yeah, I hear you.
- 41:29Speaker 1: Maybe I'm forgetting something. Maybe somebody will text a name in,
- 41:32Speaker 1: and I'm like, oh, yeah, I'm an idiot. Yeah. But
- 41:34Speaker 1: right now, yeah, give it to Mason Williams.
- 41:36Speaker 2: You think there's any chance? Because this was another one
- 41:39Speaker 2: I came up with. There's actually four players that get
- 41:44Speaker 2: drafted in the NBA.
- 41:48Speaker 1: Next year?
- 41:48Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 41:50Speaker 2: That was another one I came up with. But, yeah,
- 41:53Speaker 2: that was another one. And I know that's a real stretch.
- 41:56Speaker 2: I don't think that's your stretchiest one, though. You don't
- 42:00Speaker 2: think so? I know which one you think is the
- 42:02Speaker 2: stretchiest one.
- 42:04Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 42:04Speaker 1: All right.
- 42:05Speaker 2: Let's go through that then. Kansas, November 10th. Indiana, November 20th. Louisville,
- 42:11Speaker 2: December 12th. And North Carolina, that's later on at MSG.
- 42:18Speaker 1: I don't think you all have an issue with Indiana
- 42:21Speaker 1: or North Carolina, for what it's worth. Really? Okay.
- 42:23Speaker 2: You think it's Kansas and Indiana or UofL that we're
- 42:26Speaker 2: having a problem with.
- 42:27Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 42:27Speaker 1: And UofL is at Rupp Arena, though. You know that.
- 42:30Speaker 1: That's true. So, that's a little bit of an advantage there. Yeah.
- 42:32Speaker 2: Kansas is not. That's in a... Well, like the other three.
- 42:39Speaker 2: They're at the... Neutral.
- 42:41Speaker 1: Neutral site. Thank you. So, you look at that. All right.
- 42:45Speaker 1: You think.
- 42:46Speaker 2: If you were going to predict now, you say Kentucky
- 42:48Speaker 2: beats IU and Kentucky beats North Carolina. Are you saying
- 42:52Speaker 2: you believe that Kentucky will lose both to Kansas and UofL?
- 42:58Speaker 1: No, I think they win one, lose one. I'm predicting
- 43:02Speaker 1: three and one in that stretch. Are you really? And
- 43:04Speaker 1: who are they losing to? Right now, I will say Louisville. Oh, see,
- 43:09Speaker 1: right now I say Kansas. Kansas just didn't blow me
- 43:12Speaker 1: away when I watched them play Louisville. Tyron Stokes, I mean,
- 43:15Speaker 1: maybe he has his footing under him by that point,
- 43:18Speaker 1: but he was kind of wild with the basketball last
- 43:22Speaker 1: time I saw him play, so. Right. And maybe, again,
- 43:25Speaker 1: that's an overreaction on my end.
- 43:28Speaker 2: See, I'm like you. I don't think they go 4-0. Well,
- 43:31Speaker 2: you just said you thought they went 4-0. No, that
- 43:34Speaker 2: was my prediction.
- 43:35Speaker 1: I asked you for a prediction that you actually believe
- 43:39Speaker 1: will happen. No, I don't believe that's going to happen. Well,
- 43:41Speaker 1: then you've got to scratch it from your list. That
- 43:43Speaker 1: is not what you said.
- 43:45Speaker 2: You said the most outlandish, wild things that you believe
- 43:49Speaker 2: will happen.
- 43:49Speaker 1: Oh, my gosh, man. But do I really believe?
- 43:52Speaker 2: Just because it comes up with an outlandish idea doesn't
- 43:54Speaker 2: necessarily mean I really believe it's going to happen. It's
- 43:57Speaker 2: something I definitely hope. You didn't follow the rules.
- 43:59Speaker 1: Oh, gosh. You and your rules.
- 44:02Speaker 5: Rules? No.
- 44:04Speaker 1: Rules are meant to be broken, just to let you know. Oh, man.
- 44:08Speaker 2: And there are some rules I'd love to break in baseball.
- 44:10Speaker 2: I just want you to know that. I am so disappointed.
- 44:13Speaker 2: We'll talk about that next hour. But I want to
- 44:16Speaker 2: talk about football second hour.
- 44:18Speaker 1: And, yeah, I'm bummed. But we'll talk about it for
- 44:24Speaker 1: a little bit, okay? You should be bummed. Should I really? Yeah.
- 44:29Speaker 1: It's a sad thing. Yeah, it is. I turned it off.
- 44:34Speaker 1: I just, it's like, okay, I'm done. It was just a,
- 44:38Speaker 1: and the other part that really, well, I'll talk about
- 44:40Speaker 1: it in a minute.
- 44:40Speaker 2: We got to take a break. So our two coming
- 44:42Speaker 2: right up, we're going to talk football. Cause you know what?
- 44:45Speaker 2: Some crazy things have been happening. Some stats are really
- 44:47Speaker 2: coming out that are unbelievable. Stay right there.
- 44:51Speaker 1: This is just a cat. Hard as I worked all day.
- 45:02Speaker 1: I'm going to work hard loving on you.
- 45:06Speaker 4: Spin you all over that dance floor.
- 45:09Speaker 2: For two on this Thursday. So don't be mad at me, okay?
- 45:14Speaker 2: Tomorrow I'm going to be off because I'm going to
- 45:16Speaker 2: the Breeders' Cup. Don't be mad at me. Do you
- 45:20Speaker 2: want to be a horseman or a radio host? I
- 45:22Speaker 2: know that guy hasn't texted in a while. I don't
- 45:24Speaker 2: know where he's gone to. I miss my Coffee Chronicles.
- 45:28Speaker 2: I don't know where Coffee— I need to know where Coffee
- 45:30Speaker 2: Chronicles is.
- 45:31Speaker 1: The RTG's been gone. That's right. Where is Podcast Thoughts
- 45:35Speaker 1: Random Guy?
- 45:37Speaker 2: Podcast Random Thoughts. Oh, whatever his name is. Well, I'm dyslexic, okay?
- 45:40Speaker 2: Don't you know that by now?
- 45:41Speaker 1: Yeah, I do. So where is PTRG? Great question.
- 45:47Speaker 2: And then you're getting these fish mama and fish daddy.
- 45:50Speaker 1: I mean, it's like, where are they? I mean, my goodness.
- 45:53Speaker 2: But I'm thankful for the ones we get here. 502-414-1450.
- 45:56Speaker 2: One texter said, Sophia Vergara. Or Selma Hayek are both gorgeous.
- 46:05Speaker 2: Maybe we need to vacation in South America to take in.
- 46:09Speaker 1: The culture more. Sofia is my Selma Hayek to you.
- 46:14Speaker 5: Really?
- 46:14Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 46:15Speaker 1: She's beautiful. I love Sofia.
- 46:16Speaker 2: Here's the thing about both of them. It's not just
- 46:19Speaker 2: their beauty. It's their personality. I mean, just because you're
- 46:22Speaker 2: pretty doesn't mean I would be attracted to you. It's
- 46:24Speaker 2: their accent for me.
- 46:26Speaker 1: Oh, that too. Yeah.
- 46:27Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 46:28Speaker 1: All right.
- 46:29Speaker 2: Are Spanish-speaking people the sexiest accents?
- 46:36Speaker 1: Yes. Not Italians, French, German, any of that. It's Spanish,
- 46:41Speaker 1: for sure. It is, really. Although, you know what I'm
- 46:43Speaker 1: really coming around on as of late? Yes. We have
- 46:46Speaker 1: got a lady that works in here, what, once, twice
- 46:49Speaker 1: a week? We'll see her in here. Right. She's South African. Oh,
- 46:54Speaker 1: does she speak with a British accent? That South African
- 46:56Speaker 1: accent is pretty attractive. Is it really? Yeah.
- 46:59Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 47:00Speaker 1: Okay. So that's moving up my power ranking. Yeah, I
- 47:03Speaker 1: get it. I get it. But yeah, I like both
- 47:06Speaker 1: of those texters. So good choices right there.
- 47:09Speaker 2: One texter said, Exhibition sports events played for entertainment, charity,
- 47:14Speaker 2: or preseason preparation rather than official standings.
- 47:18Speaker 1: People still don't get it. Is he referring to me?
- 47:23Speaker 1: I'm not sure. I don't either. But I... Yeah, you're right.
- 47:28Speaker 1: It's used for preseason preparation. You're right. But it still
- 47:33Speaker 1: concerns me a little. But that's okay.
- 47:36Speaker 2: I mean, I just, you know, when I have a
- 47:39Speaker 2: different opinion, I don't need to be attacked. If you
- 47:42Speaker 2: have a different opinion, I'm not going to attack you.
- 47:44Speaker 1: I just, I don't know.
- 47:46Speaker 2: That whole thing with that song thing, people were just
- 47:49Speaker 2: nuts about that. They went crazy with it. So, I mean,
- 47:52Speaker 2: it's like, okay, I have a different opinion. I don't
- 47:55Speaker 2: like the song.
- 47:55Speaker 1: You do. It's okay.
- 47:57Speaker 2: We can still get along. Zach texted it. Boy, Zach's
- 48:01Speaker 2: on fire today. Don't feel so great about the game, Michael.
- 48:05Speaker 2: Your Kiots were one missed free throw away from an L,
- 48:09Speaker 2: and he's exactly correct. I just, if the overtime had
- 48:15Speaker 2: not happened, even though, Texter, it's an exhibition game. Do
- 48:20Speaker 2: you think majority of the fan base would be going
- 48:23Speaker 2: nuts today?
- 48:24Speaker 1: I say yes. Oh, yeah, absolutely. I don't see it.
- 48:29Speaker 1: I'm sorry. Go ahead. I was just I said no
- 48:31Speaker 1: doubt about it.
- 48:32Speaker 2: I don't see how they would not have been going
- 48:34Speaker 2: nuts over that. So one Wisconsin guy said Shadanian is
- 48:40Speaker 2: the most beautiful accent.
- 48:42Speaker 1: Not even close. Who was that? The country of Chad.
- 48:47Speaker 1: I'm assuming. chadanian i'm assuming it's uh or is it
- 48:51Speaker 1: chadanian i would say i don't know you would okay
- 48:55Speaker 1: okay yep he said yep so there you go chadanian
- 48:58Speaker 1: it's the country of chad i can say with utmost
- 49:01Speaker 1: confidence that i've never heard somebody from chad talk i.
- 49:04Speaker 2: I i've heard of the country chad i cannot tell
- 49:07Speaker 2: you where it is but so you're not a big
- 49:10Speaker 2: british accent kind of guy i mean.
- 49:13Speaker 1: It's okay like british and australian used to be my
- 49:16Speaker 1: favorite oh really but I mean, there's... i don't know
- 49:20Speaker 1: i feel like everybody likes those accents so to be
- 49:22Speaker 1: different i kind of want to do something else oh
- 49:24Speaker 1: i when i hear my wife speaking italian.
- 49:28Speaker 2: It's like oh it is okay thank you middle of
- 49:33Speaker 2: africa yeah i mean i like italian i like french No.
- 49:38Speaker 1: French is gross. Really? I think French is wildly overrated.
- 49:42Speaker 3: Okay.
- 49:43Speaker 1: People always say, like, it's a language of love. No,
- 49:45Speaker 1: it's not. It's disgusting. Okay. Oui, oui.
- 49:49Speaker 2: One texter said, of course the fan base would be
- 49:51Speaker 2: going nuts. Worst fan base in the country. I don't
- 49:54Speaker 2: know if I necessarily agree with that. We're the most
- 49:56Speaker 2: passionate ones. Most passionate, for sure. Yeah, without a doubt.
- 49:59Speaker 2: Say it in a nicer way. But, no, it's not.
- 50:03Speaker 2: People are always saying that UK has the worst fan base.
- 50:06Speaker 2: I don't think so. But anyway, I guess he's a
- 50:10Speaker 2: UofL guy is the only thing I can think of.
- 50:13Speaker 2: How much– I want to switch it up a little
- 50:15Speaker 2: bit because I want to talk about some football today.
- 50:18Speaker 2: How much luck– because I was having this conversation literally
- 50:22Speaker 2: yesterday with Oscar Combs, and I thought, ooh, this might
- 50:25Speaker 2: be a good topic today. How much luck do you
- 50:27Speaker 2: think UK football has had this year? A little bit, somewhat,
- 50:34Speaker 2: a lot.
- 50:37Speaker 1: I mean– I mean, it goes with how the ball rolls.
- 50:41Speaker 1: I don't even want to say even a little bit.
- 50:44Speaker 1: I would say less than a little bit. Would you really?
- 50:46Speaker 1: I would say everything they've done on the field. Has
- 50:49Speaker 1: there been a luck aspect to some of it? Sure.
- 50:52Speaker 1: But to me, it's good coaching and it's running good
- 50:56Speaker 1: plays and skill more so than luck.
- 50:59Speaker 2: Well, they've gotten favorable calls because you know that can
- 51:01Speaker 2: go all kinds of ways, especially if you talk to
- 51:05Speaker 2: Lane Kiffin. He'll definitely say, yeah, UK got more calls
- 51:07Speaker 2: than we did. I mean, I am so sick and
- 51:09Speaker 2: tired of hearing Lane Kiffin because we are, we are,
- 51:14Speaker 2: UK is buried in his brain right now. You know that,
- 51:17Speaker 2: don't you? He's still talking about that UK LSU game.
- 51:21Speaker 2: And he feels like that they got robbed.
- 51:24Speaker 1: You know who I never hear from?
- 51:25Speaker 5: Who?
- 51:26Speaker 1: Lane Kiffin. So it is possible, if you're tired of it,
- 51:30Speaker 1: to not run across that stuff. Okay, fair enough.
- 51:33Speaker 2: But I found this interesting, and I can't take credit
- 51:36Speaker 2: for it. Nick Roush put this up today. He said
- 51:40Speaker 2: that UK, are you ready for how many coin tosses
- 51:43Speaker 2: UK has won this year?
- 51:44Speaker 1: Uh-huh. Or do you want to guess? In seven games,
- 51:48Speaker 1: including overtimes, I will say... There's been ten of them,
- 51:54Speaker 1: I'll tell you right now. Seven. They have won nine
- 51:58Speaker 1: out of ten. Holy smokes.
- 52:00Speaker 2: That's 1 in 102 are the odds right there. And
- 52:03Speaker 2: UK has won 9 out of 10 coin tosses. That's
- 52:07Speaker 2: crazy stat right there.
- 52:09Speaker 1: That's pretty luck. See, that's what I was.
- 52:10Speaker 2: Getting ready to say. There's a lot of luck in
- 52:12Speaker 2: that right there alone. The ball has rolled in their way.
- 52:16Speaker 2: The turnover side, everything is favored Kentucky football. And I
- 52:20Speaker 2: think that's a lot of times when you have, I
- 52:23Speaker 2: say more times than not, Justin, when you have a
- 52:25Speaker 2: successful team, I feel like luck is on your side
- 52:28Speaker 2: as well. Because you've got to have a little bit
- 52:30Speaker 2: of luck when you win.
- 52:32Speaker 1: I don't necessarily disagree with that, but I don't know
- 52:35Speaker 1: that that's been the case this season. Really? Yeah, you've
- 52:40Speaker 1: had a little bit of luck because that's just inherently
- 52:42Speaker 1: part of sports. But, no, I fully believe that everything
- 52:46Speaker 1: that's happened to Kentucky this year has been because of
- 52:48Speaker 1: skill and just good coaching. Yeah. Good playmaking. Yeah.
- 52:52Speaker 2: Well, UK, as we all know, is on the bye
- 52:55Speaker 2: week this week. What, in your mind, should UK work
- 53:01Speaker 2: on the most this week in preparation for Tennessee?
- 53:05Speaker 1: Staying humble. Oh, really? It's not anything on the field. No,
- 53:11Speaker 1: I haven't seen anything on the field that I think
- 53:13Speaker 1: they absolutely necessarily need to clean up. I mean, obviously,
- 53:17Speaker 1: you would like better field goal kicking from Zouagi from
- 53:22Speaker 1: game to game.
- 53:23Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 53:23Speaker 1: But that's really the only thing I have a qualm with.
- 53:26Speaker 1: Just work on staying humble. I think the one.
- 53:29Speaker 2: Thing I think UK needs to work on is defensively
- 53:31Speaker 2: third and long. Every time you turn around, it seems
- 53:35Speaker 2: like there's a third and long and whomever team we're playing,
- 53:39Speaker 2: they got us exactly where they want us because they're
- 53:41Speaker 2: going to get a first down. That, to me, has
- 53:42Speaker 2: been probably one of the more frustrating things right now.
- 53:45Speaker 1: Well, I mean, for that matter, even third down offensively.
- 53:48Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 53:49Speaker 1: Has been somewhat of a struggle this season. Exactly. Maybe
- 53:52Speaker 1: work on that. It's third down on both sides of
- 53:54Speaker 1: the ball. Yeah.
- 53:55Speaker 2: That has just been just the death of my frustration
- 54:01Speaker 2: right there. I mean, I look at this and think,
- 54:03Speaker 2: why can't we really accomplish getting a first down? Or
- 54:07Speaker 2: why can't we keep when a opposing team has a
- 54:10Speaker 2: third and long, keep them from getting a first down?
- 54:12Speaker 2: It's just been one of those frustrating things. I wish
- 54:15Speaker 2: they could stop.
- 54:16Speaker 1: Mm-hmm.
- 54:17Speaker 2: But those are the two things I think would make
- 54:20Speaker 2: me happy if they could work on those things. I
- 54:22Speaker 2: think everything else has been great. I have no complaints
- 54:25Speaker 2: about special teams other than what you just said. Yeah,
- 54:28Speaker 2: we need to work on making the field goals. But
- 54:30Speaker 2: I think he is. I was talking to a gentleman yesterday,
- 54:34Speaker 2: Coach Polio. You know, used to be the coach at
- 54:37Speaker 2: VCU and then was working in the athletic department for
- 54:40Speaker 2: many years at UofL.
- 54:42Speaker 1: You know who I'm talking about, Mike Polio? Great guy.
- 54:47Speaker 1: Any relation to Marty? I can't answer that question. But
- 54:54Speaker 1: who's Marty Polio? He was the superintendent, I believe, of JCPS. Oh,
- 54:59Speaker 1: that's right.
- 55:00Speaker 2: I would have to say yes because that's an unusual
- 55:03Speaker 2: last name. But he was talking about, I've lost my
- 55:07Speaker 2: whole train of thought. I don't know what he was
- 55:09Speaker 2: talking about. How much he loves Will Stein and how
- 55:12Speaker 2: even though he's a UofL guy, he respects everything in it.
- 55:16Speaker 2: He said it's so hard to not fall in love
- 55:19Speaker 2: with the success UofL is having this year. I mean,
- 55:22Speaker 2: UK is having this year.
- 55:23Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 55:24Speaker 2: And he's a diehard UofL guy. And he was very
- 55:29Speaker 2: complimentary on the success of Will Stein. He goes, I
- 55:32Speaker 2: hope they do well.
- 55:34Speaker 1: Wow.
- 55:35Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 55:35Speaker 1: Very mature of him. Well, he's a great guy.
- 55:38Speaker 2: So he's not one of those diehards out there that
- 55:41Speaker 2: will knock on you. Wisconsin guy texted in, did Oscar
- 55:44Speaker 2: Combs have a falling out with Matt Jones?
- 55:48Speaker 1: They were buddies. What happened?
- 55:50Speaker 2: Well, I don't know if that's necessarily right for me
- 55:54Speaker 2: to answer that question. I do know. I mean, well,
- 55:59Speaker 2: I don't think he'd mind me saying this. He didn't
- 56:01Speaker 2: like how Matt treats me. And so, and Oscar is
- 56:06Speaker 2: very much a mentor and a father figure to Michael Bennett.
- 56:09Speaker 2: So I hope that answers your question. So, but yeah,
- 56:15Speaker 2: he doesn't. So there you go. I'm trying to talk
- 56:19Speaker 2: Oscar to come in on the radio with us.
- 56:20Speaker 1: Yeah, that'd be fun. But he's always a little hesitant.
- 56:23Speaker 1: I don't know why.
- 56:24Speaker 2: Michael, one day I will. Just hold on. We'll figure
- 56:27Speaker 2: it out. It's like one day might not ever come.
- 56:30Speaker 1: Right? Got to do it now.
- 56:32Speaker 2: He is the most historical person in UK, bar none.
- 56:37Speaker 2: And I'm not just talking media. Oscar Combs has to be,
- 56:42Speaker 2: when it comes to UK, has to be the most
- 56:45Speaker 2: famous person in UK, period.
- 56:48Speaker 1: High praise do you not agree.
- 56:50Speaker 2: I i would have put i would have probably put
- 56:54Speaker 2: joe b hall until he passed away as number one
- 56:57Speaker 2: oscar combs number two but can you when i when
- 57:01Speaker 2: i say oscar combs what's the first thing you think
- 57:03Speaker 2: of just uh the cat's paws well i agree with
- 57:07Speaker 2: you there and all the publicity he gave uk over
- 57:10Speaker 2: many years and uh so i think that's pretty cool
- 57:14Speaker 2: um wisconsin guys said good people oscar is i didn't
- 57:19Speaker 2: like how matt treated you either so i appreciate that
- 57:22Speaker 2: so yeah it's just we're fine now i mean we
- 57:26Speaker 2: we we matt and i speak to each other but
- 57:28Speaker 2: that's kind of the extent of it i mean we'll
- 57:30Speaker 2: say hello and you know that's it.
- 57:33Speaker 1: How about this crappy food we got.
- 57:34Speaker 2: Today yeah no that one we won't get that far
- 57:37Speaker 2: but uh listen, I, I, I don't, I don't want
- 57:41Speaker 2: to complain about Matt anymore. I don't want to none
- 57:44Speaker 2: of that. I mean, I think there's enough people that
- 57:46Speaker 2: do that, but I'm not going to do that. I just,
- 57:48Speaker 2: I want to stay even keel. That's why I'm, I,
- 57:50Speaker 2: you know, I'm, I'm happy to say, like we talked
- 57:53Speaker 2: about Alan Cutler. I mean, I just say, anyway, I
- 57:56Speaker 2: think he was relieved about it. I'm okay with it.
- 57:58Speaker 2: So anyway, just there comes a time you just, You
- 58:01Speaker 2: get tired of disliking people, and I don't want to
- 58:04Speaker 2: be that person. I want to be– just because I–
- 58:07Speaker 2: just like I was talking a little bit ago. Just
- 58:09Speaker 2: because I disagree with your opinion doesn't mean you have
- 58:11Speaker 2: to dislike me. I mean, we're all adults here. I
- 58:14Speaker 2: hope so, but sometimes I'm not an adult. Most of
- 58:17Speaker 2: the time.
- 58:17Speaker 1: All right. Well, that is true.
- 58:20Speaker 2: Projections are now unanimously having UK in the 12-team college
- 58:26Speaker 2: football playoff. The college football playoffs come out next week,
- 58:31Speaker 2: you know.
- 58:31Speaker 1: Oh, do they really? Yeah, first one. And this is
- 58:35Speaker 1: right before UK heads down to Knoxville.
- 58:38Speaker 2: I'm not kidding. I'm nervous about that game. And we're, what,
- 58:41Speaker 2: eight days out, nine days out from that game. And
- 58:44Speaker 2: I'm already nervous about this game.
- 58:46Speaker 1: I mean, you should be. It's a huge game. Uh,
- 58:49Speaker 1: where do you show?
- 58:50Speaker 2: So before the, before the seating comes out next week,
- 58:53Speaker 2: we'll talk more about it next week, obviously, but w uh,
- 58:56Speaker 2: of course, UK ranks, whatever poll you're looking at coaches,
- 59:00Speaker 2: eight AP nine. Where do you, Justin Kalen see UK
- 59:07Speaker 2: in the first college football playoff poll?
- 59:10Speaker 1: Next week? Since they have a buy this Saturday, I'm
- 59:15Speaker 1: going to say 10. Are you really? Yeah. Wow. That's high. Well,
- 59:21Speaker 1: I mean, they're number nine right now. And a lot
- 59:23Speaker 1: of times you think they're going to go backwards. Well,
- 59:26Speaker 1: I just think you'll have enough goofiness happen this weekend
- 59:29Speaker 1: that maybe they drop back a spot. I don't know
- 59:31Speaker 1: if they'll drop back a spot in the AP, but
- 59:34Speaker 1: a lot of times the college football playoff committee, they'll
- 59:37Speaker 1: closely resemble the AP poll. So, yeah, I'll say 10. Man,
- 59:42Speaker 1: that's a blow. How's that a blow? You're still in.
- 59:45Speaker 1: We're still in, but we're not hosting anymore. I want
- 59:48Speaker 1: to host. I think, oh, that's the reason. You wouldn't
- 59:50Speaker 1: be host as a nine either. I know.
- 59:53Speaker 2: And I never said that I believed what we were
- 59:55Speaker 2: going to be nine. So let me. All right.
- 59:59Speaker 1: Well, I'll tell you, there's a number of people reporting.
- 1:00:03Speaker 2: They see UK going anywhere from a six seed to
- 1:00:07Speaker 2: a nine seed. And of course, if you're a six,
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: seven or eight, you're hosting.
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: You get to nine. You're not hosting. Right. Correct.
- 1:00:14Speaker 2: So, listen, I don't know why you think they'd go backwards.
- 1:00:19Speaker 2: You want to talk about, I think the country, not
- 1:00:22Speaker 2: just UK fan base, would go nuts again if they
- 1:00:26Speaker 2: saw UK go to 10 and they didn't even play
- 1:00:28Speaker 2: this weekend.
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: I mean, college football has just been crazy all year.
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: It has. I don't know why that would surprise you
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: if that was the case. Well, that is true.
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: It probably would not surprise me. It would frustrate me,
- 1:00:38Speaker 2: but it wouldn't surprise me.
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: Now, if....
- 1:00:41Speaker 2: UK, then here's some of the projections. UK could potentially face,
- 1:00:48Speaker 2: how do you like this, 11 seed Texas with winner
- 1:00:53Speaker 2: going to the Rose Bowl to face UCLA.
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: That'd be fun. How much fun? I mean, that feels
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: like a winnable path, too.
- 1:01:02Speaker 2: I couldn't agree more. I mean, can you imagine hosting?
- 1:01:06Speaker 2: Here's the other crazy part. Texas comes in here and
- 1:01:08Speaker 2: it's like, you know, we're going to dominate the SEC.
- 1:01:10Speaker 2: And here they are ranked behind Kentucky. And they have
- 1:01:15Speaker 2: to travel to Kentucky to play in the college football playoffs.
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: I mean, that's some crazy stuff right there. Because I
- 1:01:21Speaker 2: think you're right. If they can get back, I think
- 1:01:24Speaker 2: the Texas game would be tougher than the UCLA game.
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: Because of the fact of them, the Bruins losing their
- 1:01:31Speaker 2: starting quarterback.
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: Yeah, I'd agree with that.
- 1:01:33Speaker 2: So now that'd be a home game for UCLA. But
- 1:01:37Speaker 2: can you imagine the fan base going to the Rose
- 1:01:40Speaker 2: Bowl for the first time?
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: They'd show up. Oh, I couldn't agree more. I think
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: it would be sold out.
- 1:01:47Speaker 2: And it would be, I know there'd be a lot
- 1:01:49Speaker 2: of UCLA fans there just because it's right there in
- 1:01:51Speaker 2: their hometown.
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: But there would be a storm coming from the east.
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: and it would be nothing but big blue madness. I mean,
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: look at what happened with Indiana in their playoff run
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: last year, right? I mean, we were basically the home
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: team in every single game because we've never experienced anything
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: like that, and quite frankly, never thought we would. It'll
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: be the exact same thing with Kentucky.
- 1:02:11Speaker 2: Then you have another projection that has UK hosting, again,
- 1:02:15Speaker 2: they would be number eight, hosting number nine, Utah.
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: What do you think of that matchup? That would be
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: a little bit of a tougher one. I'm pretty high
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: on that Utah team. Why are you so high on Utah?
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: I can't put my finger on it. I have no
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: idea why. I really like them. Yeah, I know somebody
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: that's not high on them anymore. Who's that? Pat McAfee.
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: That's true. Yeah, exactly.
- 1:02:39Speaker 2: And then the last one, they have UK. Well, with
- 1:02:43Speaker 2: that one, the winner would play between UK and Utah
- 1:02:47Speaker 2: would play number one, Georgia in the Peach Bowl. That
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: doesn't excite me. I mean, UK has been to the
- 1:02:52Speaker 2: Peach Bowl. I know it's college football playoffs, but it'd
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: be nice to go to the Rose Bowl or something
- 1:02:57Speaker 2: else completely different that we haven't been to.
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: That would be fun. I just want the only thing
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: I want out of the playoffs this year is an
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: Indiana and Kentucky matchup. Yeah. That is the only thing
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: that I want. It is.
- 1:03:09Speaker 2: Well, who do you see right now as the top
- 1:03:12Speaker 2: four seats? I think that's pretty. I think the way
- 1:03:15Speaker 2: they have them now is right. You do Georgia, Miami,
- 1:03:18Speaker 2: Ohio State, and IU. Yeah.
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:03:20Speaker 2: And you think it's going to stay that way? Because
- 1:03:22Speaker 2: I'm not certain Miami will be there by the end
- 1:03:25Speaker 2: of the season.
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: I do not think it's going to stay that way.
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: If the last few weeks have taught us anything about
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: college football is that it's ridiculously unpredictable. I mean, you're.
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: You're going to have teams lose games that they shouldn't lose, i.e.
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: Georgia and Auburn. That's just going to continue to happen
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: for the rest of the season. So, no, it probably
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: won't be the same at the end of the year.
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: But right now, the way college football stands, those feel
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: like the best four teams. Yeah.
- 1:03:49Speaker 2: And if they do make the playoffs and then all
- 1:03:52Speaker 2: of a sudden they didn't make it to where they're hosting,
- 1:03:55Speaker 2: how disappointed will this fan base be if they don't
- 1:03:58Speaker 2: host their first time in the college football playoff? I
- 1:04:01Speaker 2: don't think they're going to be disappointed at all. I
- 1:04:04Speaker 2: think they'll be somewhat disappointed, but I'm with you for
- 1:04:06Speaker 2: the most part.
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: Like 5% maybe disappointed.
- 1:04:08Speaker 5: Really?
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: Yeah. You've never made the playoffs. You can't be picky
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: about if it's a road game. When Indiana made the
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: playoffs and we had to travel to Notre Dame, was
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: I mad or upset about that? No, because we were
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: in the playoffs. You're right. I didn't care where the
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: game was being played because I never thought Indiana would
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: be in the playoffs. All right, fair enough.
- 1:04:24Speaker 2: One person texted, I am a UK fan, but I
- 1:04:26Speaker 2: am right. The UK attacked Zoom last night to the point.
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: He deleted his social media. Wait, really?
- 1:04:34Speaker 2: Wow, I did not know that. Okay, that's a little hard. Okay, Texter,
- 1:04:38Speaker 2: I apologize. I'm right there with you. When you have
- 1:04:42Speaker 2: fans that go after a player, that's ridiculous.
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: I have.
- 1:04:49Speaker 2: No respect for people that want to go after players.
- 1:04:52Speaker 2: If you want to go after the coach, that's fine.
- 1:04:54Speaker 2: He's getting paid. Mark Pope's getting paid enough money that
- 1:04:58Speaker 2: you can go after him, but don't go after the players.
- 1:05:00Speaker 2: I get it that a lot of them are getting
- 1:05:02Speaker 2: paid today. They're no longer amateurs. They're professional players, but No, man,
- 1:05:07Speaker 2: they're still kids. I mean, I think that's the one
- 1:05:10Speaker 2: thing you don't do, and that's going over the line,
- 1:05:14Speaker 2: way over the line. So I don't think that UK's
- 1:05:17Speaker 2: the worst fan base, but there's a lot of them
- 1:05:19Speaker 2: out there, and we all have bad apples in there,
- 1:05:24Speaker 2: and those bad apples are the ones that always go.
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: I don't get it. I really don't.
- 1:05:29Speaker 2: I mean, yeah, am I disappointed that game was a
- 1:05:31Speaker 2: little closer than it should have been?
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: Yes. Am I going to be mad at Mark Pope? No.
- 1:05:36Speaker 2: I'm going to be disappointed, but I'm not mad about
- 1:05:39Speaker 2: that game. I'm a little concerned about this UK basketball team,
- 1:05:43Speaker 2: but it doesn't mean I'm not going to root for them.
- 1:05:45Speaker 2: It doesn't mean that I still don't think and hope
- 1:05:48Speaker 2: that they do well this season. No, I'm just a little, Justin,
- 1:05:52Speaker 2: shouldn't I have every right right now to be a
- 1:05:54Speaker 2: little concerned after three exhibition games and UK just kind
- 1:05:57Speaker 2: of looked okay during those three games. Yeah, I think
- 1:06:00Speaker 2: that's the Texas Tech game. I was I was thoroughly
- 1:06:02Speaker 2: surprised by that one. But I mean, we saw that
- 1:06:04Speaker 2: with Purdue last year. And look how the season turned out.
- 1:06:08Speaker 2: Not so great. So, all right, we got to take
- 1:06:10Speaker 2: another break. 502-414-1450 if you want to text in. Stay
- 1:06:14Speaker 2: right there.
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: More Jessica Hatz is coming right up. Add a few
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: limbs to your family tree.
- 1:06:19Speaker 3: And watch their pencil marks in the grass and the
- 1:06:21Speaker 3: yard all grow up. Because the truth about it is
- 1:06:27Speaker 3: it all goes by real quick. You can't buy happiness,
- 1:06:33Speaker 3: but you can buy dirt.
- 1:06:46Speaker 5: I heard it the first time I skinned my knee.
- 1:06:49Speaker 5: Daddy said, don't be scared to bleed. Years later from
- 1:06:53Speaker 5: a football.
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: Coach, took a hit, couldn't quit. It was fourth and goal.
- 1:06:58Speaker 5: Didn't win that game, but the lesson learned. You gotta
- 1:07:02Speaker 5: shake off them scrapes and burns when the world don't
- 1:07:05Speaker 5: turn your way. Sometimes all you can say is rub
- 1:07:09Speaker 5: a little dirt on it. Shake the dust right out
- 1:07:14Speaker 5: of your mind.
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: Let a cool breeze work.
- 1:07:19Speaker 5: You feel the heat of coming on right on time.
- 1:07:22Speaker 5: Crack a six-pack open somewhere under an open sky. Life
- 1:07:29Speaker 5: gets a little hard on you. Get in the middle
- 1:07:33Speaker 5: of nowhere and rub a.
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: Little Is he right about that? You just rub a
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: little dirt on it and everything will be fine. Maybe
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: not anymore, but that's how it was when I was
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: growing up. Absolutely.
- 1:07:44Speaker 2: I mean, can you imagine putting dirt on an open
- 1:07:46Speaker 2: wound today? I mean, what would come out of that?
- 1:07:48Speaker 2: It can't be good. Good call there.
- 1:07:50Speaker 5: Oh, really?
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: Never heard that one. Oh, you haven't heard of that?
- 1:07:53Speaker 3: No.
- 1:07:53Speaker 2: Okay, so that was in a movie at the end
- 1:07:57Speaker 2: of the movie, and I can't think of what movie.
- 1:07:59Speaker 2: I think it was either a baseball movie or a–
- 1:08:05Speaker 2: football movie it was with uh dennis quaid and if
- 1:08:09Speaker 2: you go look it up uh that that it was
- 1:08:12Speaker 2: a really good movie and it's like oh i kind
- 1:08:14Speaker 2: of like that song rub a little dirt on it
- 1:08:17Speaker 2: so anyway.
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: There's not very many country songs you can see me
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: send me that i haven't.
- 1:08:22Speaker 2: Ever seen Well, I'm kind of surprised, quite honestly, that
- 1:08:25Speaker 2: you had never heard that one right there.
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: Oh, it was from The Hill. Yeah, it was a
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: great movie. Is that what it is? Great movie. Okay, yeah.
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: What was The Hill about? Remind me. Baseball.
- 1:08:32Speaker 2: I thought it was a baseball movie, yet he's referring
- 1:08:35Speaker 2: to football in the song.
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:08:37Speaker 2: And it's like, well, because I look at that song
- 1:08:40Speaker 2: and I think baseball.
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: And I'm like, well, I need to rub a little
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: dirt on my wounds today. Yeah, so you remember the
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: kid wanted to play, but his dad wouldn't let him
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: because he's a pastor and he didn't think it was. Yes, yes.
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: Great movie.
- 1:08:50Speaker 2: Dennis Quaid does some great movies.
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: Especially baseball.
- 1:08:55Speaker 2: Oh, oh, the rookie by far is one of my
- 1:08:58Speaker 2: all time favorite baseball movies. Well, because it's a little
- 1:09:02Speaker 2: I remember the real player that that he portrayed in
- 1:09:06Speaker 2: that movie playing for the Tampa Bay Rays.
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: I remember that.
- 1:09:10Speaker 2: And so no, just cause I need to rub a
- 1:09:13Speaker 2: little dirt on my wounds today after the, the raise.
- 1:09:16Speaker 2: I mean, they basically got swept. I mean, you can
- 1:09:19Speaker 2: say all you want that, you know, at least say one, one,
- 1:09:21Speaker 2: but yeah, but it wasn't a good world series for me,
- 1:09:25Speaker 2: but I will say congratulations to the Milwaukee brewers, all
- 1:09:29Speaker 2: the fans out there. Good for you. You finally got
- 1:09:32Speaker 2: a world series. Hopefully one day my Tampa Bay raise will.
- 1:09:35Speaker 2: So we'll see. I mean, it's just, Feels like it's
- 1:09:38Speaker 2: never going to happen. It's never going to happen to Trump,
- 1:09:39Speaker 2: which I'm really disappointed about. Because with the raise, they
- 1:09:44Speaker 2: got a lot of players that most likely will not
- 1:09:47Speaker 2: be on this team next year. Because they don't pay
- 1:09:49Speaker 2: a lot. But we'll see if the new ownership does
- 1:09:52Speaker 2: or not. But I thought one of the cool moments
- 1:09:54Speaker 2: last night was when first baseman or designated hitter, whichever one,
- 1:09:59Speaker 2: my favorite player, Yandy Diaz, and Milwaukee Brewer catcher, William Contreras,
- 1:10:05Speaker 2: They were having a stare-off at the home plate. Now,
- 1:10:09Speaker 2: if you don't know this, they're really close friends, and
- 1:10:13Speaker 2: they grew up together, which I think is a lot
- 1:10:16Speaker 2: of fun when you have that happen because you've seen
- 1:10:18Speaker 2: Josh Freeman do that with some of his buddies out there,
- 1:10:21Speaker 2: and I love it when players are like this. Yandy
- 1:10:25Speaker 2: Diaz is at the plate and it's called, the pitch
- 1:10:28Speaker 2: comes in, it's called a ball. Well, the Milwaukee Brewers catcher,
- 1:10:32Speaker 2: William Contreras, taps his helmet and he wants it reviewed.
- 1:10:36Speaker 2: So Contreras stands up and they- He's a beast at reviewing.
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: Oh, absolutely. And well, have you seen Yandy Diaz, by
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: the way?
- 1:10:43Speaker 3: No.
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: Oh, he is ripped. You don't want to mess with
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: that guy. Oh, yeah, I've seen, yeah. Okay.
- 1:10:49Speaker 2: And they are both staring down each other. And you
- 1:10:53Speaker 2: can tell- They're trying their best to not laugh. And
- 1:10:58Speaker 2: then all of a sudden the call comes in because
- 1:11:00Speaker 2: they look at each other. Then they turn away to
- 1:11:02Speaker 2: see where the video is going to show. And the
- 1:11:05Speaker 2: comes up and it says ball. And Contreras has to
- 1:11:08Speaker 2: turn his head away and smile. And it's just that's
- 1:11:11Speaker 2: what I love about baseball, because you can have so
- 1:11:15Speaker 2: much fun in the heat of the moment. And it
- 1:11:18Speaker 2: was that was one of my favorite moments of definitely baseball.
- 1:11:22Speaker 2: The World Series. I love the ABS challenges, by the way.
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: Do you really? They're so fast.
- 1:11:27Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: And they're simple. I think getting to see it in
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: the stadium helps other fans get involved in the game. Yeah.
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: I love it.
- 1:11:35Speaker 2: Well, I'm glad you do because I do too. But anyway,
- 1:11:38Speaker 2: I'm bummed for my Tampa Bay Rays, but it's fine.
- 1:11:41Speaker 2: There's always next year.
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: Yeah. What's the manager for the Brewers? What's his name?
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: Pat Murphy. Pat Murphy. Okay.
- 1:11:47Speaker 2: So the manager for Kevin Cash for the Tampa Bay Rays,
- 1:11:52Speaker 2: waited around for Pat Murphy to come up the steps.
- 1:11:55Speaker 2: So he congratulated him under the, that's what I thought too, uh,
- 1:11:59Speaker 2: under the stadium, nobody else was supposed to see it.
- 1:12:01Speaker 2: And then somebody got a picture of it, which I thought,
- 1:12:03Speaker 2: you know, that's a nice moment right there. Cause that's
- 1:12:05Speaker 2: gotta be hard on the Tampa Bay Rays manager, cash, uh,
- 1:12:09Speaker 2: cash Daniels, uh, Kevin cash to go up to him
- 1:12:13Speaker 2: and say, congratulations, but they've known each other for a
- 1:12:15Speaker 2: long time. Cause, uh, Kevin cash played it. Uh, I
- 1:12:19Speaker 2: think it was, didn't he played Florida state and, The
- 1:12:22Speaker 2: other guy was at Arizona State, and they met each
- 1:12:24Speaker 2: other in the College World Series.
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: Huh.
- 1:12:27Speaker 2: And I thought that was pretty cool that he waited
- 1:12:28Speaker 2: around for him to come up and congratulate him on
- 1:12:31Speaker 2: his first World Series.
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, it takes a big man to do that.
- 1:12:35Speaker 2: Oh, listen, it does, but, you know, it takes a
- 1:12:38Speaker 2: good man to do that, too. Not just a big man,
- 1:12:40Speaker 2: but a good man.
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: That's what I meant. Yeah.
- 1:12:42Speaker 2: But, by the way, you know, UK's going into football,
- 1:12:47Speaker 2: that is, going into a bye week.
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: Mm-hmm. Which feels really weird.
- 1:12:52Speaker 3: Why?
- 1:12:53Speaker 1: Because I don't know. There's nothing to watch this weekend
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: in terms of the cats. Well, there's volleyball. I guess
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: you got volleyball. Yeah.
- 1:13:01Speaker 2: I mean, you had baseball last week. You don't have
- 1:13:03Speaker 2: any basketball.
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: But you're right.
- 1:13:05Speaker 2: There isn't much to watch. Kind of a relaxing weekend. Well,
- 1:13:09Speaker 2: I would predict it's all because of the Breeders' Cup. Yeah.
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: That's what you said earlier. Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:13:15Speaker 2: They're taking this off because of the Breeders' Cup. So anyway,
- 1:13:19Speaker 2: so you got nothing going on. Now, I look at
- 1:13:22Speaker 2: this and I get nervous because here's why. Mark Stoops
- 1:13:28Speaker 2: coming out of a off week never did well.
- 1:13:33Speaker 1: This is Kentucky football brain. Yeah, it is. Are you ready?
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: He lost 12 times coming out of a bye week.
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: That's horrible. Yeah. Like, how does that even happen?
- 1:13:45Speaker 2: He was 6-12 over his 13 seasons. So, I look
- 1:13:51Speaker 2: at this and think, okay, is there any chance Will
- 1:13:55Speaker 2: Stein can change that?
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: I don't know. Yes, absolutely.
- 1:14:00Speaker 2: And here's the other part, though. Stoops never won a
- 1:14:04Speaker 2: road game after a bop. His only win off a
- 1:14:08Speaker 2: bye week in the last final five years of Mark
- 1:14:13Speaker 2: Stoops' era was Murray State.
- 1:14:16Speaker 1: So there you go. Okay, go ahead. Now you can talk.
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: I mean, I don't really have anything else to say
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: other than just you can't think like that because Will
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: Stein has proven already that he's not Mark Stoops. Yeah.
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: He's competent.
- 1:14:32Speaker 2: Yes, you're exactly right. But this is the game I'm
- 1:14:35Speaker 2: probably more nervous about than any of the other ones.
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: That's because it's the hardest one left. It is the
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: hardest one left. And it's the next one. Well, yeah,
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: I get that.
- 1:14:45Speaker 2: I even think that if Tennessee was three games down
- 1:14:49Speaker 2: the road, I would still be more nervous about the
- 1:14:52Speaker 2: Tennessee game than I would be Florida, Missouri, or UofL.
- 1:14:55Speaker 1: Sure. Yeah.
- 1:14:56Speaker 2: And I still stand by my prediction of I'm not
- 1:15:00Speaker 2: nervous about– The game I'm least nervous about is UofL. Now,
- 1:15:04Speaker 2: if it ends up that UK does beat Tennessee or
- 1:15:10Speaker 2: Missouri and Florida, and then we play UofL, yeah, I'm
- 1:15:14Speaker 2: a little nervous. I'm probably more nervous about that game
- 1:15:16Speaker 2: than all the rest.
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: Because of everything riding on it? Exactly. It's not the
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: fact that we could use UofL. It's the fact that
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: we could lose it all.
- 1:15:25Speaker 4: Hmm.
- 1:15:26Speaker 2: Because I think that, well, even if UK wins and
- 1:15:32Speaker 2: goes three games in a row and wins them all,
- 1:15:35Speaker 2: I still think UK can make the playoffs if they
- 1:15:39Speaker 2: lose to UofL. Now, if UK loses to one of
- 1:15:43Speaker 2: the three, Florida, Missouri, and Tennessee... And now they're sitting
- 1:15:48Speaker 2: there with two losses, and this and the UofL game
- 1:15:51Speaker 2: could keep them from going.
- 1:15:52Speaker 1: To the college football playoffs. I think that revigorates UofL's
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: want and need to beat UK for that game. And
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: I worry about that. Louisville's going to want to beat
- 1:16:09Speaker 1: UK regardless. No matter what? Regardless. Yeah, it's a rivalry. Yeah.
- 1:16:14Speaker 2: But can Will Stein instill in this team that that's
- 1:16:17Speaker 2: a game he wants to win in the worst way?
- 1:16:19Speaker 2: Because he's a former player from UofL. You're telling me
- 1:16:22Speaker 2: he has no feel for UofL anymore. He is nothing
- 1:16:26Speaker 2: but UK. I would say so. You would say so?
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: Okay, good.
- 1:16:31Speaker 2: I hope so, but I do worry about it. I'm
- 1:16:33Speaker 2: still waiting for the day if he ever does the
- 1:16:36Speaker 2: L's down thing.
- 1:16:36Speaker 1: No. You don't think that ever? It's not happening. Why
- 1:16:39Speaker 1: is that? He's too classy of a guy. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:16:43Speaker 2: Here's the one thing I really loved, though, that I
- 1:16:47Speaker 2: saw yesterday on social media. UK, did you realize this,
- 1:16:50Speaker 2: is one of two schools for this one particular thing.
- 1:16:55Speaker 2: They are ranked in top 25 in football, men's basketball, volleyball,
- 1:17:03Speaker 2: and women's basketball.
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: Begs the question, who's the other one? See, I knew
- 1:17:07Speaker 1: you would ask that, so I had to go look
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: it up. Texas.
- 1:17:11Speaker 5: Really?
- 1:17:12Speaker 2: Yeah, so only UK and Texas, they are the only
- 1:17:16Speaker 2: two schools that is ranked in all four sports of football,
- 1:17:21Speaker 2: number nine in the UK, men's basketball, number 23, volleyball,
- 1:17:25Speaker 2: number seven, and women's basketball at number 14. That's a
- 1:17:28Speaker 2: pretty cool stat right there, and I thought it needed
- 1:17:31Speaker 2: to be definitely mentioned.
- 1:17:35Speaker 1: Okay, evidently you don't think so. I mean, it's impressive,
- 1:17:38Speaker 1: but also at the same time, I'm pretty sure every
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: fall sport on the campus here in town is ranked
- 1:17:47Speaker 1: with the exception of football. That's almost more impressive to me.
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: Say that again? I'm pretty sure at Louisville right now,
- 1:17:55Speaker 1: every fall sport with the exception of football is in
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: the top 25. Okay, yeah. So they got three of
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: the four. There's more than four, isn't there? No, there's football, basketball. Oh, volleyball, women's. No,
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: it's just four.
- 1:18:11Speaker 2: Football, men's basketball, volleyball, and women's basketball. It's only four
- 1:18:15Speaker 2: sports we're talking about.
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: I know in your scenario, that's the only four sports,
- 1:18:20Speaker 1: but I'm talking men and women's soccer. I'm talking volleyball,
- 1:18:25Speaker 1: cross country, field hockey. I mean, all of them. Are
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: they all sports too? They're all top 25 with the
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: exception of football. Okay, well, the stat came up. They're
- 1:18:36Speaker 1: only including football, basketball, women's basketball, volleyball. Okay, so you're
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: messing with me, and it's really frustrating me right now.
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: You got to stop it. Now I got to take
- 1:18:45Speaker 1: a break so I can overcome what you were just
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: telling me. So what?
- 1:18:52Speaker 2: Get back to your text as soon as we get back.
- 1:18:54Speaker 2: We're taking a break right now. This is just the cats.
- 1:18:57Speaker 4: And you feel the healing coming in right on time.
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: You crack a six pack open. Bye. Bye.
- 1:19:36Speaker 5: I was raised off of Route 3.
- 1:19:39Speaker 3: Out past where the blacktop ends We'd walk to church
- 1:19:45Speaker 3: on Sunday morning Race barefoot back to Johnson's Fence.
- 1:19:51Speaker 5: That's where I first saw Mary On that roadside picking
- 1:19:56Speaker 5: blackberries That summer I turned a corner in my soul
- 1:20:02Speaker 5: Down that red dirt.
- 1:20:04Speaker 2: Road I had no idea so many country music songs.
- 1:20:10Speaker 1: Had the word dirt in it. Me neither until this morning.
- 1:20:13Speaker 1: My gosh, man. It was actually a... Super easy playlist
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: to put together. I mean, I had probably six, seven
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: more options. Really?
- 1:20:22Speaker 2: And it's all related to dirt. I mean, what's wrong
- 1:20:25Speaker 2: with country music and dirt?
- 1:20:26Speaker 1: They don't like playing in dirt.
- 1:20:27Speaker 2: They got dirty minds or something. I don't know what
- 1:20:29Speaker 2: it is. One text was texted in. Indiana has the
- 1:20:32Speaker 2: largest alumni base in the country.
- 1:20:35Speaker 1: It's true.
- 1:20:36Speaker 2: That is why they were able to fill all the
- 1:20:39Speaker 2: stadiums last season.
- 1:20:40Speaker 1: UK doesn't have that.
- 1:20:42Speaker 2: They do travel well, but I doubt they would dominate
- 1:20:45Speaker 2: the Rose Bowl.
- 1:20:47Speaker 1: Does Indiana have the... They do. Do they really?
- 1:20:50Speaker 2: Yep.
- 1:20:50Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:20:52Speaker 2: I'm here to tell you, if UK plays in the
- 1:20:55Speaker 2: Rose Bowl... It'll be at least 50% UK. I'm not
- 1:20:58Speaker 2: going to say they're going to dominate the stadium, but
- 1:21:01Speaker 2: I'm telling you, they would be there in full force,
- 1:21:04Speaker 2: without a doubt. Because who says that's ever going to
- 1:21:06Speaker 2: happen again?
- 1:21:07Speaker 1: Don't you think they all want to go out there?
- 1:21:09Speaker 1: That was... the mindset of Indiana fans last year. And
- 1:21:11Speaker 1: it'll be the exact same for Kentucky. Yeah.
- 1:21:14Speaker 2: Uh, Patrick texted in, sorry to hear about the rays
- 1:21:18Speaker 2: coming up short in the world series. I was hoping
- 1:21:20Speaker 2: the rays would have come back and win the world series.
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: I was too. I mean, I still had hope. I
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: woke up to a text this morning from Patrick and he,
- 1:21:30Speaker 1: it was just a picture of Pat Murphy holding up
- 1:21:32Speaker 1: the trophy. And he was like, I want a world series.
- 1:21:35Speaker 1: Cause his name's Patrick Murphy. Yeah.
- 1:21:39Speaker 2: Well, you know, it was kind of weird. Did you
- 1:21:41Speaker 2: see him in the introductory line? And he wouldn't handshake
- 1:21:45Speaker 2: any of the players, and they just pat him on
- 1:21:47Speaker 2: the chest?
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:21:48Speaker 2: He said that was the goofiest waste of time was
- 1:21:51Speaker 2: doing that. It's like, come on, man. It takes you
- 1:21:53Speaker 2: two seconds to shake somebody's hand.
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: I don't know. Maybe he's a COVID guy.
- 1:21:58Speaker 2: I will tell you this. Analytics, they don't win World Series.
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: Analytics don't? Yeah.
- 1:22:07Speaker 5: How so?
- 1:22:08Speaker 1: Well, that's because.
- 1:22:11Speaker 2: The Rays, kind of like the A's, they're all kind
- 1:22:15Speaker 2: of one of those small ball, low salary teams, and
- 1:22:22Speaker 2: they use analytics to win games. And that's what clearly
- 1:22:26Speaker 2: shows you. It's kind of like the whole synopsis of Moneyball,
- 1:22:29Speaker 2: the movie. They used analytics to get where they were,
- 1:22:34Speaker 2: but when it comes down to actually winning games, The championships,
- 1:22:38Speaker 2: the World Series, it doesn't win you that.
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: That's what I mean. Am I making sense? Clearly not.
- 1:22:45Speaker 1: I mean, yeah, a little bit, but both of these
- 1:22:48Speaker 1: teams are both very analytical. Oh, the Brewers are as well?
- 1:22:53Speaker 1: The Brewers play a very similar style to Tampa Bay. Okay, well,
- 1:22:57Speaker 1: they won it. But here's the thing.
- 1:22:59Speaker 2: The Brewers had the best record in all of baseball,
- 1:23:03Speaker 2: so clearly they were the best team. I mean, they
- 1:23:05Speaker 2: just swept the Dodgers. And at least we won one game.
- 1:23:09Speaker 2: I mean, we can hold our head proudly there. The
- 1:23:12Speaker 2: Dodgers couldn't even win a game. The Rays did. So, anyway.
- 1:23:18Speaker 2: One Wisconsin guy said, why aren't they called the Satan
- 1:23:22Speaker 2: Rays anymore? You know, that is interesting. I don't know
- 1:23:25Speaker 2: why they dropped the Devil Rays, the devil side of it.
- 1:23:28Speaker 2: But my mom always hated that.
- 1:23:30Speaker 1: She didn't.
- 1:23:31Speaker 2: Listen, she didn't like that they were called the Devil Rays.
- 1:23:35Speaker 2: But I don't know why they dropped that. But I
- 1:23:38Speaker 2: kind of like them just called the Rays. I like
- 1:23:41Speaker 2: those Devil Rays jerseys.
- 1:23:42Speaker 1: Do you?
- 1:23:43Speaker 2: I mean, it just reminds me of being a kid.
- 1:23:45Speaker 2: I love how colorful they are. That's the part that
- 1:23:48Speaker 2: really pops to me. I think they're really cool looking.
- 1:23:51Speaker 2: They got a truck that they drive, a pickup truck
- 1:23:53Speaker 2: on the field. It's a light blue and has Rays
- 1:23:56Speaker 2: on it. And I was just like, man, I would
- 1:23:58Speaker 2: do anything to be able to buy that truck.
- 1:24:00Speaker 1: Well, now that the season's over, who takes care of
- 1:24:02Speaker 1: the actuals?
- 1:24:04Speaker 2: I think they have somebody there from the Clearwater Aquarium,
- 1:24:09Speaker 2: which is a very well-known aquarium.
- 1:24:11Speaker 1: Yes. And they come down and take care of them.
- 1:24:13Speaker 1: I don't know. I think they do keep them in there.
- 1:24:16Speaker 1: I don't think they take them out. I wouldn't imagine
- 1:24:18Speaker 1: they took them out. Yeah.
- 1:24:20Speaker 2: But Lane Kiffin thinks the SEC is purposefully giving LSU
- 1:24:27Speaker 2: Bama a 3.30 time slot because they don't want LSU
- 1:24:30Speaker 2: to win.
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: Say what? That's what I said. Lane said this? Yes,
- 1:24:36Speaker 1: he did. He said it yesterday. This guy just looks
- 1:24:39Speaker 1: like more and more of a moron every day. But
- 1:24:42Speaker 1: you know, that doesn't make a lick of sense. That's
- 1:24:44Speaker 1: what I think, too. Is the game at LSU, I guess? Yes.
- 1:24:47Speaker 1: So he's crying that they don't get a night game?
- 1:24:49Speaker 2: Yes. out of here because the premier game for many
- 1:24:53Speaker 2: years on cbs was the 330 game not a night
- 1:24:57Speaker 2: game so why is he complaining about a 330 game
- 1:24:59Speaker 2: because all his fans aren't liquored up and ready to
- 1:25:02Speaker 2: go to the game all loud and drunk.
- 1:25:04Speaker 1: At 330 you should be liquored up i don't have a.
- 1:25:07Speaker 2: Problem with a 330 game i like 330 games right
- 1:25:10Speaker 2: you get a a all morning Casually go over to
- 1:25:14Speaker 2: the stadium. You get plenty of time to tailgate. And
- 1:25:18Speaker 2: then guess what? After the game's over, you get a
- 1:25:19Speaker 2: little more time to tailgate again.
- 1:25:21Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:25:21Speaker 1: You can rally. Do it again. Exactly. It's the noon
- 1:25:25Speaker 1: games like you. I can't stand the noon games. We're
- 1:25:29Speaker 1: at 3.30 this week. Thank God. Congratulations. Thank God. Who
- 1:25:32Speaker 1: does Indiana play this week? Minnesota. They play Minnesota. Okay, good.
- 1:25:35Speaker 1: College game day is going to be there for whatever reason.
- 1:25:39Speaker 1: I think we're a 22-point favorite in game days. And
- 1:25:41Speaker 1: you're playing who again? Minnesota. And you got game day coming?
- 1:25:44Speaker 1: Game day.
- 1:25:45Speaker 2: It must be the worst scheduling week of games if
- 1:25:48Speaker 2: they're coming for that.
- 1:25:49Speaker 1: You don't go for Indiana, Ohio State. But, yeah, Indiana, Minnesota,
- 1:25:53Speaker 1: we got to be there. Give me a point. Wow.
- 1:25:55Speaker 5: Okay.
- 1:25:55Speaker 1: You think game day shows up for UK, Tennessee? Ooh,
- 1:25:59Speaker 1: great question. I'll say yeah. Do you?
- 1:26:05Speaker 2: I'll say yeah right now. Uh, here's what I want.
- 1:26:08Speaker 2: I want them to wear that orange and blue. I mean,
- 1:26:10Speaker 2: I know I talked about it yesterday. I hope they
- 1:26:12Speaker 2: let them do this, but, uh, did you get that
- 1:26:14Speaker 2: song pulled up or no?
- 1:26:15Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:26:16Speaker 1: Don't worry about it. We'll, we'll, we'll go on to
- 1:26:18Speaker 1: that next week. But, uh, anyway, yeah.
- 1:26:21Speaker 2: Uh, I just, I saw that and I'm like, why
- 1:26:23Speaker 2: are you complaining about a three 30 game? Cause I'm
- 1:26:25Speaker 2: with you. At first thing I thought of was you.
- 1:26:27Speaker 2: Cause you're y'all. I, you has played nothing but noon
- 1:26:31Speaker 2: games this entire season feels that way.
- 1:26:33Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:26:33Speaker 2: I'm right there with you. So, uh, I'm sorry for
- 1:26:36Speaker 2: you from that standpoint. Wisconsin guy is killing me.
- 1:26:39Speaker 1: Okay. He called them the Lucifer Rays. I like that.
- 1:26:44Speaker 1: The Prince of Darkness Rays. The Fallen Angel Rays. Oh,
- 1:26:48Speaker 1: my gosh, man. Okay. You're on a streak there, Wisconsin guy.
- 1:26:52Speaker 2: But anyway, so tonight you got Thursday night football between
- 1:26:56Speaker 2: the Panthers and the Packers.
- 1:26:58Speaker 1: Don't tell me the spread. The spread is going to
- 1:27:01Speaker 1: be 19.
- 1:27:01Speaker 2: Of course I'm not going to tell you. but I
- 1:27:04Speaker 2: don't know why I'm not supposed to, but there you go.
- 1:27:06Speaker 1: Because we play guess the spread on Spears on Thursdays.
- 1:27:08Speaker 1: I try not to cheat.
- 1:27:09Speaker 2: Packers are four and three. Panthers are three and three.
- 1:27:12Speaker 2: It's a terrible game. Here's the crazy part is that
- 1:27:15Speaker 2: the Packers, Panthers are three and three.
- 1:27:17Speaker 1: I know the Packers. The Panthers are three and three
- 1:27:21Speaker 1: and yet lead the NFC South.
- 1:27:23Speaker 2: Yeah, because it's horrible. And then the Packers are four
- 1:27:25Speaker 2: and three and they're in last place. I mean, how
- 1:27:27Speaker 2: crazy is that?
- 1:27:28Speaker 1: Are they really? Yes, they're in last place. which I
- 1:27:32Speaker 1: think is so funny. Huh? Yeah. You don't believe me,
- 1:27:35Speaker 1: do you? You got to go check it out. I'm
- 1:27:36Speaker 1: not checking. Yeah.
- 1:27:36Speaker 2: You got the Vikings who are six and oh, the
- 1:27:39Speaker 2: bears are five and two and the lions are four
- 1:27:41Speaker 2: and two. And then the Packers are four and three.
- 1:27:43Speaker 2: They are in last place. Five over 500.
- 1:27:46Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:27:48Speaker 2: And then you got the Panthers in first place, only
- 1:27:51Speaker 2: three and three. The Falcons are three and four. Buccaneers
- 1:27:54Speaker 2: are two and five.
- 1:27:55Speaker 1: They suck. And the saints are two and five. Hey,
- 1:27:57Speaker 1: but Baker's back. That's got to make you excited.
- 1:27:59Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:28:01Speaker 1: I know.
- 1:28:01Speaker 2: They were putting out a bunch of posts on Tampa
- 1:28:03Speaker 2: Bay's Buccaneer sites, and I'm like, oh, we're so happy
- 1:28:06Speaker 2: Baker Mayfield's back. I'm like, you'd be the only one
- 1:28:09Speaker 2: that is. So, yeah, I'm just not a fan. Anyway,
- 1:28:14Speaker 2: it is crazy how the NFL is this year, though.
- 1:28:17Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 1:28:17Speaker 2: I mean, you look at NFC East. The Giants are
- 1:28:20Speaker 2: in first place at 4-2. The Cowboys are in second
- 1:28:23Speaker 2: place at 3-4. Who saw that coming?
- 1:28:26Speaker 1: Nobody. Nobody saw that coming. I mean, I would have
- 1:28:29Speaker 1: sworn up and down it had been the Eagles. I mean,
- 1:28:31Speaker 1: the Browns and Steelers are about to play for the
- 1:28:33Speaker 1: second time this season with first place in the division
- 1:28:36Speaker 1: on the line. Isn't that crazy? The NFL's been. Yeah.
- 1:28:40Speaker 1: but man, it's, it's, but, but doesn't that make it
- 1:28:42Speaker 1: fun though? Oh yeah. I mean, the Browns are five
- 1:28:45Speaker 1: and two. The Steelers are five. There's a reason the
- 1:28:47Speaker 1: NFL is my favorite league in the country. Yeah. And
- 1:28:50Speaker 1: the Bengals are right behind them. Four and two. I mean,
- 1:28:52Speaker 1: they had the same losses, but they hadn't played as
- 1:28:54Speaker 1: many games and the Ravens are about to get Lamar back.
- 1:28:56Speaker 1: So here they come. Yeah. Whatever. Where are they?
- 1:29:00Speaker 2: I didn't even see the Ravens. Well, they're 4-3, so
- 1:29:03Speaker 2: they're not far out either. And who would have ever
- 1:29:08Speaker 2: figured Liam Cohen would be doing the job he's doing
- 1:29:13Speaker 2: at Jacksonville?
- 1:29:13Speaker 1: They should run away with that division. They are. You
- 1:29:16Speaker 1: want to talk about a stinky division. Oh, it's horrible.
- 1:29:19Speaker 2: So the Jaguars are 4-2, the Colts are 2-5, the
- 1:29:22Speaker 2: Texans are 2-5, and the Titans are 1-6.
- 1:29:23Speaker 1: Mm-hmm.
- 1:29:26Speaker 2: I don't know how the Titans are staying in Nashville.
- 1:29:28Speaker 2: I hope they just say, screw it, we're out of here.
- 1:29:30Speaker 2: And then you can have your brand new little stadium.
- 1:29:33Speaker 2: We're moving to Louisville, Kentucky. How great would that be?
- 1:29:37Speaker 2: That's what I'm predicting.
- 1:29:38Speaker 1: I would love that. That would be one of my
- 1:29:40Speaker 1: wild predictions. Sorry, Kings. Y'all got delegated to Nashville.
- 1:29:44Speaker 2: Yeah, well, you know, you got that whole thing with
- 1:29:50Speaker 2: the racers threatening to leave. As soon as a team
- 1:29:53Speaker 2: starts to threaten to leave, well, if you don't show up,
- 1:29:55Speaker 2: we're out of here.
- 1:29:56Speaker 1: It's like, okay, see ya.
- 1:29:58Speaker 2: That's kind of a, yeah, the soccer team, the women's
- 1:30:00Speaker 2: soccer team is threatening to leave Louisville.
- 1:30:02Speaker 1: Have you not seen that? It's been in the news. Yeah, no,
- 1:30:04Speaker 1: I have. They're not, I can't think of their actual name.
- 1:30:07Speaker 1: Racing Louisville. Okay, whatever their name is. Not the racer. Well,
- 1:30:10Speaker 1: they're not Murray State. You made me think of Murray State.
- 1:30:13Speaker 1: I know. Exactly. That's what I was thinking of. Racers. Yeah.
- 1:30:17Speaker 1: But they're the racers. Okay. Rail racing. Whatever they are.
- 1:30:21Speaker 1: They're something. Okay. But, yeah. Yeah, that would suck. Because,
- 1:30:24Speaker 1: I mean, that's literally our only professional. Yeah.
- 1:30:26Speaker 2: Well, next two days I'm going to be in Lexington.
- 1:30:32Speaker 2: I'm not looking forward to the traffic there. They don't
- 1:30:35Speaker 2: do a great job with traffic in Lexington. At least
- 1:30:38Speaker 2: it's just breeders. Nothing else going on. Well, that is true.
- 1:30:43Speaker 2: At least there's not a football game or anything like that.
- 1:30:46Speaker 2: But I do get worried that they do. There's only
- 1:30:50Speaker 2: one way. Well, two ways in.
- 1:30:51Speaker 1: And that's it. Two ways in, two ways out. Do
- 1:30:54Speaker 1: you go past the castle on your way in? Is
- 1:30:56Speaker 1: that the way you go? Oh, yeah, absolutely. That's the
- 1:30:58Speaker 1: only way. That's the best.
- 1:31:00Speaker 2: Yeah, so I go 64 to Versailles and get off
- 1:31:02Speaker 2: that way and pass the castle. Because you heard about
- 1:31:04Speaker 2: the castle.
- 1:31:05Speaker 1: What about it? You didn't know one of the owners
- 1:31:08Speaker 1: was putting cameras in the bathroom mirrors? What? Oh, yeah.
- 1:31:14Speaker 1: I did not know that. Oh, yeah. So just beware
- 1:31:17Speaker 1: when you go there. Yikes. Yeah, yeah. Place is cool, though.
- 1:31:21Speaker 1: Wisconsin guy said tracing Louisville. Ha ha ha!
- 1:31:27Speaker 2: Oh, Twitter line never disappoints. But anyway, so yeah, I'll
- 1:31:31Speaker 2: be headed there for tomorrow.
- 1:31:33Speaker 1: You don't have any horses racing? No, no. Obviously not
- 1:31:37Speaker 1: in Breeders' Cup.
- 1:31:37Speaker 2: No, not in Breeders' Cup. Next one I have racing
- 1:31:40Speaker 2: is a week from Sunday. So we'll find out, I
- 1:31:43Speaker 2: think it's Sunday or Monday, whether or not he gets in.
- 1:31:47Speaker 2: There's a mile and a 16th turf race at Churchill Downs,
- 1:31:50Speaker 2: and we're bringing Hunting Goodwill down from New York to
- 1:31:54Speaker 2: race in that race.
- 1:31:54Speaker 1: Did you find a new rider? Not yet, but that's
- 1:31:58Speaker 1: not my responsibility.
- 1:31:59Speaker 2: So, yeah, that's Horacio DePaz that will be picking that out.
- 1:32:02Speaker 1: So it will not be me. So we'll see. But
- 1:32:06Speaker 1: we'll talk more about that next week.
- 1:32:07Speaker 2: And, of course, we'll definitely be talking about the U.K.-Tennessee game.
- 1:32:12Speaker 1: So get you ready for that.
- 1:32:13Speaker 2: And we've got the first game of basketball next week.
- 1:32:15Speaker 2: It's going to be a big deal. Everybody have a
- 1:32:18Speaker 2: safe weekend. Watch those kiddos out there on Saturday night
- 1:32:21Speaker 2: as they trigger a treat. So please be careful because
- 1:32:23Speaker 2: I know everybody's going to be out there having a
- 1:32:24Speaker 2: good time. And put a little dirt on it, okay? Justin,
- 1:32:27Speaker 2: have a great weekend, my friend.
- 1:32:28Speaker 1: You too. We'll see you on Monday on Just a Guess.
