Transcript
- 0:08Speaker 1: Well, if this past week is titus anything, it's that
- 0:11Speaker 1: gossip is rarely correct but super fun. We're still in
- 0:16Speaker 1: the middle of a crazy signing period. You're on No
- 0:19Speaker 1: Dribble strap in Hello and welcome to No Dribble, the
- 0:35Speaker 1: podcast where we talk about neck ball and we talk
- 0:38Speaker 1: about so much more. My name is Carolyn Swindell.
- 0:40Speaker 2: I'm cock.
- 0:41Speaker 1: Thank god you're back.
- 0:42Speaker 3: Yes, and I'm lose Ellis And I've been nowhere and
- 0:45Speaker 3: done nothing.
- 0:46Speaker 1: Well, we know that you have been places and done
- 0:49Speaker 1: exciting things. Social media tells me that you have been
- 0:52Speaker 1: rubbing shoulders with a governor general or two just one
- 0:55Speaker 1: one you've.
- 0:56Speaker 2: Gone and warden the same again.
- 0:59Speaker 1: You've got.
- 1:01Speaker 4: Email their people in the morning and find out what
- 1:03Speaker 4: they're wearing.
- 1:05Speaker 3: If you had people, I would have emailed them. You
- 1:07Speaker 3: don't have people by email, nobody.
- 1:10Speaker 2: Do you know what?
- 1:11Speaker 3: I walked in the door? So we had the We're
- 1:14Speaker 3: in the middle of one year to go celebrations for
- 1:16Speaker 3: the Netball World Cup. So this time next year it
- 1:18Speaker 3: will just be very very very very exciting, I know
- 1:23Speaker 3: from a netball point of view. So last week we
- 1:26Speaker 3: had a function at Government House in Canberra at Yara
- 1:31Speaker 3: Lamla with the Governor General and it was fabulous and
- 1:33Speaker 3: the Minister for Sport turned up, the Shadow Minister for Sport,
- 1:37Speaker 3: so we had lots of important politicians there. We had
- 1:39Speaker 3: lots of representatives from the High Commissions and embassies of
- 1:44Speaker 3: the countries who will be playing at the Netball World Cup,
- 1:48Speaker 3: which was fabulous. So it was really a way to
- 1:49Speaker 3: connect with them and get people excited about the fact
- 1:52Speaker 3: that the Netball World Cup will be here in a year.
- 1:54Speaker 3: And because I now get to have a small amount
- 1:58Speaker 3: of influence over things, I try to get my friends
- 2:00Speaker 3: to do things. So I got Brianie Akle to come
- 2:02Speaker 3: down and sit on the panel and she was well,
- 2:05Speaker 3: you know, she was the assistant coach of the Silver Ferns,
- 2:08Speaker 3: so she was representing New Zealand.
- 2:09Speaker 1: And did she wear her gold medal get one might
- 2:14Speaker 1: have been the best flam.
- 2:18Speaker 3: Her and I might have had to take it to
- 2:19Speaker 3: the car park and had a fisty cuffs. But anyway,
- 2:23Speaker 3: so Briani was there, Amy Schlager was there, you know
- 2:25Speaker 3: as a young Diamond Squad member, and it was just fabulous.
- 2:30Speaker 3: It was such a great feeling in the room and
- 2:31Speaker 3: as we've spoken about, at length before the Governor General
- 2:34Speaker 3: is an absolute superstar Sam Mouston.
- 2:36Speaker 5: But I nearly died.
- 2:37Speaker 3: So for those of you who are news to the Dribble,
- 2:40Speaker 3: not the Grand Final this year, but last year Catherine
- 2:43Speaker 3: and I turned up to the Grand Final unbeknownst to
- 2:45Speaker 3: each other, both wearing a bright orange suit and when
- 2:48Speaker 3: you look at so that was the Grand Final at
- 2:50Speaker 3: Rod Laver Arena. And we've got photos at Netball Australia
- 2:53Speaker 3: that sort of get put it into different things that
- 2:55Speaker 3: I see occasionally. And there's a photo of the whole
- 2:59Speaker 3: like the seventeenth people that were there fifteen.
- 3:01Speaker 5: Thousand or whatever, and there's Wally.
- 3:04Speaker 3: Two people wearing orange suits and you can see you
- 3:06Speaker 3: can see Catherine sitting in the broadcast area and me
- 3:09Speaker 3: sitting down at the end of the court in the
- 3:12Speaker 3: fancy seats, and it's the funniest thing. Every time I've
- 3:14Speaker 3: seen it, I laugh because it is just like, you know,
- 3:16Speaker 3: two walies playing where's Wally. And then I walked it
- 3:19Speaker 3: on at the Governor General's function on Wednesday night and
- 3:22Speaker 3: I was like, I'm so sorry, and she, like me,
- 3:25Speaker 3: has we both have silver hair, which we have both
- 3:27Speaker 3: bonded about before and I was like, Sam, I don't
- 3:30Speaker 3: know where you stop and I start. Yes, well, hopefully
- 3:33Speaker 3: everybody else knows. But it was a fabulous night.
- 3:36Speaker 4: White doesn't stand out quite as much as the fluo
- 3:39Speaker 4: orange does.
- 3:40Speaker 2: But yes, you guys looked amazing.
- 3:41Speaker 1: If you're ever worried, though, I can set your mind
- 3:44Speaker 1: at ease. Now I'm never going to show up wearing
- 3:47Speaker 1: a white pants suit.
- 3:49Speaker 2: Well do you know what are your anti suit or
- 3:51Speaker 2: you anti white?
- 3:52Speaker 1: Well, the pantsuit is better on the long legged gal.
- 3:56Speaker 1: I'd have to say, I don't know. The pantsuit doesn't
- 4:00Speaker 1: go so well for me and a white suit just
- 4:04Speaker 1: I'd be terrified all night.
- 4:05Speaker 3: Well, as you know, and as Catherine knows, I'm a
- 4:08Speaker 3: grot right there is like the first time I saw
- 4:11Speaker 3: Katherine wearing a white suit in commentary, I nearly hyperventilated
- 4:14Speaker 3: with anxiety.
- 4:15Speaker 5: I was like, oh my god, she's not going to
- 4:17Speaker 5: get through the game.
- 4:18Speaker 3: And then I remember that Catherine comes from a long
- 4:19Speaker 3: line of women who like wearing white. So the lovely
- 4:22Speaker 3: franc he loves a bit of white. And so you have,
- 4:26Speaker 3: you know, floated your way through your commentary commitments Catherine
- 4:29Speaker 3: wearing white.
- 4:29Speaker 5: And then when I got to Canberra.
- 4:31Speaker 3: I had a couple of hours to spare, and I
- 4:33Speaker 3: never have a couple of hours to spare in a
- 4:35Speaker 3: place where I can go shopping. So I wandered over
- 4:37Speaker 3: to the Camera Center and there was a few specialist on.
- 4:40Speaker 3: So I wandered into QUE and the lady in Q
- 4:42Speaker 3: was lovely and I walked out with the white jacket
- 4:45Speaker 3: and white pants and it was fabulous and I got
- 4:49Speaker 3: through and we even I went out for dinner afterwards
- 4:52Speaker 3: with Briany and Amy, and I didn't get it dirty
- 4:55Speaker 3: over Dinnerine.
- 4:56Speaker 2: Did you have rewind at dinner.
- 4:57Speaker 5: Or you just of course I didn't.
- 4:59Speaker 1: Oh my god, an idiot, you can ship she had
- 5:03Speaker 1: She had sushi with no soy sauce.
- 5:06Speaker 2: No chicken rice, and what.
- 5:09Speaker 3: We had dumplings like Asian street food with soy sort
- 5:12Speaker 3: of sauces. And I absolutely nearly didn't eat. And I thought, no, no,
- 5:17Speaker 3: be big girl, you can do this. And I did
- 5:19Speaker 3: it and I don't have to get it.
- 5:22Speaker 2: Sheer go.
- 5:22Speaker 1: But also something last week, Liz that you did that
- 5:25Speaker 1: was sensational was a segue, and I think you've done
- 5:29Speaker 1: another amazing segue, because of course you have mentioned Frotzie
- 5:32Speaker 1: and Catherine, you've just been overseas with you with your mother.
- 5:36Speaker 2: I was about to pick up on that I have.
- 5:38Speaker 4: So it's a very different travel experience when you go
- 5:43Speaker 4: with an eighty plus year old. And I had to
- 5:46Speaker 4: put my patient head on, took my little lego head off.
- 5:49Speaker 4: That's the running through airports one and I put on
- 5:52Speaker 4: my patient head lego head, and I think going into it,
- 5:56Speaker 4: I was far better equipped for how slow the whole
- 6:00Speaker 4: thing was. But it was something that she was desperate
- 6:03Speaker 4: to do. Mum is too old to trouble by herself now,
- 6:07Speaker 4: particularly internationally, and her brother's not well in New Zealand.
- 6:11Speaker 4: So I offered to take her and she rang him
- 6:14Speaker 4: within seconds before she'd even answered to me and said,
- 6:17Speaker 4: Catherine's going to bring me to New Zealand.
- 6:19Speaker 2: I thought, oh crap. I thought we were just having
- 6:20Speaker 2: a conversation about it.
- 6:22Speaker 1: That was straight to the commitment.
- 6:24Speaker 2: It's happening, so listen. It was good fun.
- 6:28Speaker 4: As I said, it was frustratingly slow because when I'm
- 6:31Speaker 4: normally at an airport, I'm darting in and out of people,
- 6:34Speaker 4: trying to get through and out of there as fast
- 6:36Speaker 4: as possible. But It was good fun. It is nice
- 6:39Speaker 4: to be back and to be back to normal speed.
- 6:41Speaker 4: I'll tell you what I discovered in New Zealand. They
- 6:44Speaker 4: clearly do not drink as much as we do. So
- 6:47Speaker 4: we went out.
- 6:48Speaker 1: When you say we do, you mean Australian.
- 6:52Speaker 4: As much as Australians do. Twice we're out for dinner
- 6:55Speaker 4: and we ordered a drink when we sat down, and
- 6:58Speaker 4: the waiter asked us twice on two separate occasions.
- 7:01Speaker 2: Was I thought, was weird?
- 7:02Speaker 4: Oh what do you think you might have for dinner?
- 7:04Speaker 4: And then we can work out you know, you drink
- 7:06Speaker 4: and I'm like, hey, we don't need to worry about that.
- 7:09Speaker 2: This drink would be sold by the time we get
- 7:12Speaker 2: to order. What twice that happened?
- 7:15Speaker 1: Oh wow, that's rad, isn't it.
- 7:19Speaker 2: We don't need to worry about that, buddy. I could
- 7:20Speaker 2: polish this whole.
- 7:21Speaker 1: Your reputation precedes you captured And maybe they were already
- 7:24Speaker 1: thinking our license laws could be under jeopardy here with
- 7:28Speaker 1: Catherine Cox in the house.
- 7:29Speaker 2: So it was weird anyway. No, so yeah, good, it
- 7:32Speaker 2: was a good trip. I'm glad I'm back.
- 7:34Speaker 4: I missed you guys, but oh my god, I listened
- 7:37Speaker 4: to both episodes. How lucky are we to have Gordy?
- 7:40Speaker 2: Oh yeah, the insides honestly, And you.
- 7:44Speaker 1: Know, we talk about gossip and man, there's so much information, no, no,
- 7:50Speaker 1: not information. There are so many rumors flying around and
- 7:53Speaker 1: we could be talking about that. As everyone knows. We
- 7:56Speaker 1: record on a Monday, so by the if we start
- 7:58Speaker 1: trading in gossip by week, we look like we're Man.
- 8:04Speaker 4: This is such interesting to is how they're dragging it
- 8:08Speaker 4: out and like the people saying they're not signing with
- 8:10Speaker 4: their new.
- 8:11Speaker 2: Clubs and you're like, oh my god, where are they going?
- 8:13Speaker 2: We don't know.
- 8:14Speaker 1: It's just well, they're not allowed to, are they At
- 8:17Speaker 1: this stage. They're only allowed to up until today, they
- 8:21Speaker 1: are only allowed to sign their own players. So therefore,
- 8:24Speaker 1: if someone's moving on that couldn't be announced, they can
- 8:27Speaker 1: only say I'm not going back to That's why it's
- 8:29Speaker 1: so good. And what I don't want to happen though,
- 8:32Speaker 1: is it forever end?
- 8:34Speaker 4: Yes, I don't want for the clubs to drop it
- 8:36Speaker 4: in the first two days.
- 8:38Speaker 2: Keepers hanging as.
- 8:39Speaker 5: Long as until Christmas? Do you think?
- 8:41Speaker 4: Definitely until the last day that the teams have to
- 8:44Speaker 4: be announced. We've got two weeks, don't we Well.
- 8:46Speaker 1: People are complaining to me about this, and I keep saying,
- 8:49Speaker 1: you know, when this is over, there's nothing really going
- 8:53Speaker 1: to happen then until the constellation cups, so save for it.
- 8:57Speaker 1: This up, it's amazing.
- 8:58Speaker 4: Do you know what I was laughing about is off
- 9:00Speaker 4: the back of the Swifts announcing there'd be no Wiki,
- 9:03Speaker 4: there'd be no Oshannessy, there'd be no Landon.
- 9:06Speaker 2: I reckon they might have had their hands forced to
- 9:08Speaker 2: make an announcement.
- 9:09Speaker 1: Have you got anyway?
- 9:11Speaker 2: Because the social media was going off, what is happening?
- 9:16Speaker 2: What's going on with the Swifts? And so next minute
- 9:18Speaker 2: Helen hows be staying in the world is saved.
- 9:21Speaker 1: Paige Helen and Tey Frey and Grace White. Now so yeah,
- 9:28Speaker 1: So I'm hoping that I've had a lot of Swift's
- 9:32Speaker 1: fans being contacting me. What the hell is happening at
- 9:35Speaker 1: the Swifts has been quite a common text message for
- 9:37Speaker 1: me to receive in the past week. So I'm hoping
- 9:40Speaker 1: now everyone is feeling a little bit calmer, a bit
- 9:43Speaker 1: more excited. But I want them to play a game
- 9:46Speaker 1: where at any times it's like stop put the side
- 9:50Speaker 1: that you have signed on court right now and see
- 9:53Speaker 1: what happens.
- 9:54Speaker 4: But I love how I mean, it's Monday now, so
- 9:56Speaker 4: again there's probably not a great deal of point talking
- 9:58Speaker 4: about it. But the only that hadn't said boo was
- 10:02Speaker 4: the Vixen's, and they did Monday morning saying no Walters,
- 10:05Speaker 4: we haven't announced any particular players signing, but they hadn't
- 10:08Speaker 4: said anyone that was leaving. They hadn't said anything.
- 10:12Speaker 1: Tea birds are also very quiet, like I've got a
- 10:15Speaker 1: lot of good people there who your fans are hoping
- 10:17Speaker 1: to be re signed. The rest of us don't mind
- 10:20Speaker 1: if all of your players go somewhere else and disperse
- 10:22Speaker 1: into the other seven clubs.
- 10:24Speaker 4: The funniest room mcgun around is Georgie Horges is going
- 10:26Speaker 4: to this new Sydney club. I mean, there's a whole
- 10:29Speaker 4: range of reasons that's not going to happen, I reckon,
- 10:31Speaker 4: and the biggest one being why would you want to
- 10:33Speaker 4: put herself in the same state that I live.
- 10:36Speaker 2: I mean, that's asking for trouble.
- 10:38Speaker 4: You know.
- 10:38Speaker 1: The only one making it weird now as you it's
- 10:40Speaker 1: always been.
- 10:41Speaker 2: I'd be outside the windows with my binoculars every.
- 10:44Speaker 1: Anyway we're going to have. I want to hear more
- 10:47Speaker 1: from you in our netball segment in a minute, but
- 10:49Speaker 1: I do just have a little bit of an update
- 10:51Speaker 1: on our the internationals. And when I'm talking the internationals,
- 10:55Speaker 1: I'm not talking Super Netball Internationals, I'm talking no dribble
- 10:59Speaker 1: drib international So we are now we've been listened to
- 11:03Speaker 1: in one hundred and seventeen countries. And if you listen regularly,
- 11:05Speaker 1: you know that a few months ago or maybe a
- 11:08Speaker 1: month ago, I worked out that I can get a
- 11:09Speaker 1: map of where the country which countries we are listened
- 11:13Speaker 1: to in, and in the last month we have added Estonia, Georgia, Latvia,
- 11:19Speaker 1: Moldover to Puerto Rico. Really hope that's Ricky Martin listening. Ricky,
- 11:25Speaker 1: if you're listening, we love you. Good bad Bunny would
- 11:28Speaker 1: also be sensational Rwanda, Solomon Islands and Venezuela. So those
- 11:32Speaker 1: are our new countries. I know, I know, but it
- 11:36Speaker 1: gets even more interesting and there's more challenges afoot for dribblers.
- 11:39Speaker 1: And thank you to those dribblers who I know are
- 11:41Speaker 1: taking summer holidays in Europe particularly who are making a
- 11:45Speaker 1: point of ticking off some countries for us. So yep.
- 11:49Speaker 1: We love that. We still haven't covered we need to.
- 11:52Speaker 1: There's only a couple of countries missing in South America
- 11:54Speaker 1: and then we can color it. It's like playing risk,
- 11:57Speaker 1: isn't it. So missing in South America is still Paraga,
- 12:00Speaker 1: why French, Guyana and Surinam. But that's only three countries left.
- 12:04Speaker 1: But our biggest markets Australia, obviously, UK, New Zealand, then USA,
- 12:13Speaker 1: which is very exciting.
- 12:14Speaker 2: First now I think we need to get over there.
- 12:19Speaker 1: I do too, I do too. But what's really interesting
- 12:22Speaker 1: is our biggest state within the US. Have a guess, Oh,
- 12:27Speaker 1: it's like l A incorrect, that's A That's that's city anyway, California.
- 12:33Speaker 1: It's not California, Florida incorrect, and not New York. I
- 12:38Speaker 1: went and looked up where Netball USA is is headquarters,
- 12:42Speaker 1: because they are now quite active on our notrible Facebook page.
- 12:47Speaker 1: Our biggest and they're headquartered in New York. It's not there.
- 12:50Speaker 1: Our biggest market is Kansas, so I don't know what's
- 12:55Speaker 1: going on.
- 12:56Speaker 5: Canas Kansas.
- 12:59Speaker 1: We are in Kansas total, that is our biggest market
- 13:04Speaker 1: in the US by far. So it goes Kansas, New York, California.
- 13:09Speaker 1: Then Texas, Florida, Illinois, Washington, Virginia, DC, and then Connecticut.
- 13:14Speaker 1: So we you know, that is a wide range of
- 13:17Speaker 1: states east, west, north, south, coastal Inland, but Kansas, tell
- 13:23Speaker 1: us who you are. Make contact with us please.
- 13:26Speaker 4: We want to know because is this like three people
- 13:28Speaker 4: as opposed to one person.
- 13:30Speaker 1: The numbers are reasonably high out of the United States.
- 13:33Speaker 1: This is our biggest so Puerto Rico. It could just
- 13:36Speaker 1: be Ricky Martin listening so high, Ricky always well.
- 13:41Speaker 2: Collin bangs and bangs.
- 13:45Speaker 1: I've very sadly come to the conclusion that that's of
- 13:47Speaker 1: no interest to Ricky Martin. It's not the fact that
- 13:50Speaker 1: I'm middle aged that puts me out of Ricky Martin's interest.
- 13:54Speaker 1: But anyway, there's a few states left in the United
- 13:56Speaker 1: States that we need to cover off. So dribblers, please
- 14:00Speaker 1: contact your friends in Alaska, Arkansas, Delaware, Iowa, Mississippi, Montana,
- 14:08Speaker 1: North Dakota, Vermont, and West Virginia. So come on, Wow,
- 14:12Speaker 1: we got to get on these. I want to see
- 14:14Speaker 1: the whole of the United States colored in for us
- 14:16Speaker 1: so dominant. But that's really really exciting and very nice
- 14:21Speaker 1: to have so much interest from the United States where
- 14:24Speaker 1: we need our game to grow and grow, but we
- 14:26Speaker 1: need to get over there and help it anyway. But look,
- 14:29Speaker 1: let's have a little break and then come back and
- 14:30Speaker 1: talk about some it ball. Okay, So, as we've said,
- 14:41Speaker 1: we record on a Monday. If we talk about signings
- 14:44Speaker 1: by Wednesday, you're going to go, oh my god, you
- 14:46Speaker 1: guys don't know anything, and so we're just going to
- 14:50Speaker 1: sidestep that entirely. But Elizabeth, you wanted to talk about
- 14:54Speaker 1: player turnover in our sport.
- 14:57Speaker 3: So thanks to Darryl lovely Daryl Milton with some stats
- 15:00Speaker 3: on the weekend that clearly he has time and enthusiasm
- 15:03Speaker 3: to do. This is the sort of thing that I
- 15:04Speaker 3: would wonder and go, I should have a look, and
- 15:06Speaker 3: then I'd see something shining and off I'd go and
- 15:09Speaker 3: just go chasing that. So and also on the weekend
- 15:12Speaker 3: I watched rugby, union, netball, soccer and basketball, so you know,
- 15:18Speaker 3: and none of it at any level that wasn't my children.
- 15:20Speaker 5: So I didn't have time.
- 15:22Speaker 3: But Darryl had time, and I love that he's gone
- 15:25Speaker 3: and looked at player turnover and the thing.
- 15:27Speaker 5: You can see this on the Facebook page if you
- 15:28Speaker 5: have a look.
- 15:30Speaker 3: So in twenty twenty five, Daryl says one hundred and
- 15:32Speaker 3: six players took the court in the SSN. By season's end,
- 15:36Speaker 3: twenty two had left their club through retirement, moving to
- 15:38Speaker 3: another SSN team, or heading to another league.
- 15:40Speaker 5: Which is twenty.
- 15:41Speaker 3: Percent of all players used, or twenty percent of the
- 15:44Speaker 3: original eighty eight contracted players including the eleventh playoff. So
- 15:47Speaker 3: that would also include replacement players that came in. So
- 15:51Speaker 3: for comparison, so think about twenty point eight percent as
- 15:54Speaker 3: a turnover for Super Netball AFL roughly seven to nine
- 15:58Speaker 3: percent turnover. And I read that and went network seven
- 16:01Speaker 3: to nine, seven to nine percent turnover. It's not much,
- 16:05Speaker 3: is it. But before we get into that, let's look
- 16:07Speaker 3: at the others. NRL twenty seven point five percent, which
- 16:11Speaker 3: is high. It's a quarter over a quarter.
- 16:13Speaker 1: So this is changing from one season to the next
- 16:16Speaker 1: or within the season.
- 16:18Speaker 3: One season to the next, right yep, okay, okay, EPL.
- 16:22Speaker 3: So the English Premier League soccer or football, if you
- 16:25Speaker 3: want to call it that, I get in trouble from myself.
- 16:27Speaker 5: You're saying soccer around.
- 16:29Speaker 1: A soccer, soccer, soccer.
- 16:31Speaker 3: Around thirty to forty percent, Wow, really high. And the
- 16:35Speaker 3: NFL it's forty four percent. Wow, So isn't that fascinating?
- 16:39Speaker 3: So I reckon there's something in the fact. So I
- 16:41Speaker 3: thought it was interesting that AFL was so low. And
- 16:44Speaker 3: I think Darren might have mentioned this in his Facebook
- 16:46Speaker 3: group in his Facebook post, which is that in the
- 16:49Speaker 3: AFL the only players you're going to sign really most
- 16:53Speaker 3: of them are from Australia. There might be a few
- 16:55Speaker 3: sort of outlies from you know elsewhere.
- 16:58Speaker 1: But errand Irishman or the odd.
- 17:01Speaker 5: Texan is that where Mason Cox is from.
- 17:03Speaker 1: Let me just tell you one thing I learn about
- 17:05Speaker 1: a f L. There's a player named steel Sidebottom. Did
- 17:09Speaker 1: you hear he's just retired?
- 17:11Speaker 3: And did you hear the Great Dennis commedty line, the
- 17:14Speaker 3: late Great Dennis Committee in commentary still Sidebottom. Something happened
- 17:18Speaker 3: in a game and still and Dennis commedtee said, still Sidebottom.
- 17:22Speaker 3: He's used to things coming in at odd angles.
- 17:31Speaker 1: People have taken the piece out of me from from birth.
- 17:33Speaker 2: About it, audience, Jesus Gott.
- 17:43Speaker 3: I thought I was really safe with the name like
- 17:45Speaker 3: Ellis as a last name. But one of us, well,
- 17:49Speaker 3: one of my friends calls me.
- 17:56Speaker 1: Fell us nice. That's cute. I don't know about kid,
- 17:59Speaker 1: but anyway, I do it so wonderful.
- 18:01Speaker 3: But so in the AFL, like, there's not if you're
- 18:04Speaker 3: a good player, you're going to be found right in Australa,
- 18:06Speaker 3: there's not this huge player pool from all over the
- 18:09Speaker 3: world to contribute to turnover NFL.
- 18:11Speaker 5: I don't know, but epl that.
- 18:13Speaker 3: I mean, there's soccer players all over the world and
- 18:15Speaker 3: net Bar's really interesting, isn't it Because we have so
- 18:17Speaker 3: many international players and so many juniors coming through such
- 18:20Speaker 3: a massive pool of players that we've got about a
- 18:23Speaker 3: twenty to twenty five percent turnover. I think that's fascinating
- 18:26Speaker 3: and I do think that that's a really good argument.
- 18:29Speaker 3: And I say this to my little boy at the time,
- 18:30Speaker 3: who's decided he wants to be a professional sports person
- 18:34Speaker 3: and he doesn't like school is ten. I'm like, mate,
- 18:37Speaker 3: you have to go to school and get an education
- 18:39Speaker 3: because all the stats, now that I've got, the stats
- 18:41Speaker 3: point to the fact that there's only a small group
- 18:44Speaker 3: of people who have really long professional careers. It doesn't
- 18:48Speaker 3: happen all that often, and so if you play your
- 18:51Speaker 3: sport professionally, you have to make the most of it.
- 18:53Speaker 3: And that's why players move right, and used to see
- 18:56Speaker 3: it in you know, rugby league or AFL, and now
- 18:59Speaker 3: we're seeing more increasingly in netball because the money's there
- 19:02Speaker 3: and players can be enticed away with money. You've got
- 19:06Speaker 3: to make hay while the sunshines right, because your career
- 19:09Speaker 3: might not be long enough. And Catherine, I mean you
- 19:11Speaker 3: move clubs a couple of times you would know too well,
- 19:15Speaker 3: like the thought processes that you go through. Yes, it's
- 19:17Speaker 3: hard to leave a club where you love the fans
- 19:19Speaker 3: and you love the coach or you love your other players,
- 19:21Speaker 3: but you look after yourself.
- 19:23Speaker 5: That's just the reality of professional sport.
- 19:25Speaker 2: Should we chat about that Friday?
- 19:27Speaker 3: Yes, I want you to talk us through that on Friday. Yeah.
- 19:31Speaker 3: And so because of that movement that Daryl did the
- 19:34Speaker 3: stats on, I'm not surprised that we're seeing so much
- 19:38Speaker 3: of it now. And it's funny is that the last
- 19:40Speaker 3: time this happened in twenty twenty three, Gordy was like
- 19:43Speaker 3: everyone was talking about, oh my god, this is this
- 19:46Speaker 3: is unprecedented, and three years later we're saying the same thing.
- 19:49Speaker 5: Now, this won't ever happen again now with.
- 19:51Speaker 3: The new CBA because players can sign multi year deals
- 19:53Speaker 3: that can cross over multiple CBA agreements, so now might
- 20:00Speaker 3: just see a couple of players in you moves. So
- 20:01Speaker 3: that'll be interesting to see if we see the same
- 20:03Speaker 3: turnover at the end of every year that we're seeing
- 20:05Speaker 3: now as well.
- 20:06Speaker 4: I'm really fascinated to see who the biggest long term
- 20:09Speaker 4: signing is going to be.
- 20:10Speaker 2: Or who the first, and there hasn't been a lot
- 20:12Speaker 2: of it hasn't.
- 20:13Speaker 1: So what a Jamie Lee Price got a couple of years.
- 20:15Speaker 4: I think I think they've all learning just gone to
- 20:17Speaker 4: the end of twenty twenty seven for what I've seen
- 20:19Speaker 4: so far.
- 20:19Speaker 3: Oh okay, yep, and I've seen some sign for two
- 20:22Speaker 3: years that'll be twenty seven, twenty eight. I think Liz
- 20:25Speaker 3: Watson's two years, Jamie Lee's two years.
- 20:27Speaker 1: Really, certainly no one's got because they can have up
- 20:29Speaker 1: to five years, can't they. No one's got I reckon.
- 20:32Speaker 4: There's some coming though. There's got to be some coming,
- 20:34Speaker 4: particularly if you're looking at trying to establish new clubs
- 20:37Speaker 4: like this New Sydney sign. It'll be interesting because and also,
- 20:42Speaker 4: as you say, is given the uncertainty of the competition
- 20:46Speaker 4: or trying to build a club now from scratch, given
- 20:48Speaker 4: how much movement there is. You want some stability. I'm
- 20:51Speaker 4: surprised that it's not. I mean, it hasn't been able
- 20:54Speaker 4: to happen obviously until this week, but I reckon there'll
- 20:57Speaker 4: be some coming.
- 20:58Speaker 3: I have heard of a player who signed a three
- 21:01Speaker 3: year deal. I don't know whether that's true or not.
- 21:03Speaker 3: I'm still so there are players out there now negotiating
- 21:06Speaker 3: three year deals, and if I was moving into state,
- 21:07Speaker 3: I'd probably want a three year deal to make them
- 21:09Speaker 3: wink while yeah yep, yeah.
- 21:11Speaker 1: So yeah, all right, well that'll be good. We'll talk
- 21:13Speaker 1: about that on Friday, Catherine. But just before we end
- 21:16Speaker 1: our netball segment, there is netball outside of super Netbal.
- 21:20Speaker 1: I know, shocker, I did not understand this myself, but
- 21:23Speaker 1: the Victorian Netball League Grand Final was played on the
- 21:26Speaker 1: weekend and it's really it's exciting. And this is relevant
- 21:30Speaker 1: because twenty five percent of Super netball players have played
- 21:33Speaker 1: in the VNL, so this is a big feeder comp
- 21:37Speaker 1: for super netball anyway. This is the top state league
- 21:40Speaker 1: in Victoria, but City West Falcons have dominated the league
- 21:44Speaker 1: since their inception in two thousand and nine and won
- 21:47Speaker 1: the last four grand finals, so they had a rockie
- 21:51Speaker 1: start to the season, lots of changes and players. Still
- 21:54Speaker 1: finished second, but were knocked out by the Hawks in
- 21:56Speaker 1: last week's preliminary finals. So for the first time in
- 21:59Speaker 1: five years, the Victorian Netball League has a new champion,
- 22:03Speaker 1: like it has been the same team, Like you're eking
- 22:05Speaker 1: a three PiZZ hud a four peat. That is absolutely incredible.
- 22:10Speaker 1: So the Casey Demons, coached by Aaron Bell with first
- 22:14Speaker 1: team into the Grand Final two weeks ago and they
- 22:17Speaker 1: defeated the Hawks, only their third loss this season. But
- 22:20Speaker 1: the Hawks had a huge win in the Grand Final
- 22:22Speaker 1: sixty six to fifty five, winning by eleven goals, just
- 22:27Speaker 1: their first championship since twenty eleven. Then as Monash Storm,
- 22:32Speaker 1: so congratulations to coach aj Ballentine and the team. And
- 22:36Speaker 1: then Northeast Blaze won the Under twenty three. So these competitions,
- 22:42Speaker 1: if you are starved of netball, as we all are
- 22:45Speaker 1: at the moment, go and find out what's going on
- 22:47Speaker 1: at these comps because these are incredibly exciting games. You know,
- 22:51Speaker 1: we had Emma Right, who has played in Super NETWK
- 22:54Speaker 1: before she was retiring. She was Casey Demon's first player
- 22:57Speaker 1: to reach one hundred games at the VNL level. These
- 23:00Speaker 1: are records falling there that are you know, we will
- 23:04Speaker 1: see knock on effects coming into the like of these
- 23:08Speaker 1: players to play. It's the Sam yep So and congratulations
- 23:12Speaker 1: to Jess Tetley who was the most valuable player on
- 23:15Speaker 1: the day. So someone was back from maternity leave, we
- 23:18Speaker 1: had a player from Tasmania. It was everything was going
- 23:21Speaker 1: on there. And yes, thank you Georgia Ragick from sen
- 23:25Speaker 1: who has given me all of this information because I
- 23:28Speaker 1: saw something on social media and I sent her a
- 23:30Speaker 1: text saying I should know about this. Can you give
- 23:33Speaker 1: me the give me the skinny? And so she called
- 23:35Speaker 1: me and she left a lovely voicemail. And I love
- 23:38Speaker 1: having a personal sports journalist. That's one of my dreams.
- 23:41Speaker 1: I didn't know it was my dream until I got one.
- 23:43Speaker 1: But thank you George.
- 23:45Speaker 5: Very handed.
- 23:45Speaker 3: Georgia spoke at the Super Netball Grand Final lunch and
- 23:48Speaker 3: was outstanding. So she's someone who I think we'll see
- 23:52Speaker 3: I don't know on television screens, maybe with netball and
- 23:55Speaker 3: sometime in the future. I love the fact that there's
- 23:57Speaker 3: these great women female journalists coming through grown up on
- 24:00Speaker 3: neddie and love it and they're now sort of dictating
- 24:04Speaker 3: what we see and hear about, and it's fantastic.
- 24:07Speaker 1: She loves it soccer too, and probably doesn't call it soccer,
- 24:11Speaker 1: but so we love you still. Soccer soccer, soccer, soccer.
- 24:16Speaker 1: All right, Well, we will be back on Friday, obviously
- 24:19Speaker 1: to talk more about changing clubs. But let's have a
- 24:21Speaker 1: little break and then I think something's very important has
- 24:24Speaker 1: happened that we need to talk about. Okay, Liz, you
- 24:34Speaker 1: would have loved to have a little bit of a
- 24:36Speaker 1: job last week, a little bit of an admin job
- 24:39Speaker 1: that contributes to the country's knowledge of who we are
- 24:43Speaker 1: as a country and the information that we used to
- 24:47Speaker 1: build hospitals. And I'm talking about the census.
- 24:51Speaker 2: Yes, I was like, is this going?
- 24:55Speaker 3: While I was thinking, did I forget to do something
- 24:58Speaker 3: I forgot to do?
- 25:00Speaker 5: God? If I'm not.
- 25:01Speaker 2: Understandable if you did. The list is long.
- 25:03Speaker 3: The list is very long, and things get lost in
- 25:05Speaker 3: my inbox. And I can say to people.
- 25:07Speaker 1: No, if you forgot, if you forgot the census, you
- 25:10Speaker 1: have had your head in the sand. Right this was
- 25:13Speaker 1: there was no no way you could get around there.
- 25:15Speaker 1: I mean maybe maybe if you don't listen to ABC Radio,
- 25:18Speaker 1: you don't hear quite as much of the census, but
- 25:20Speaker 1: I think anytime. Oh no, I'm listening to it, listening
- 25:23Speaker 1: to the chief Statistician.
- 25:25Speaker 3: Yes, well, I love following the Bureau of Statistics on
- 25:27Speaker 3: social media. I know Catherine's pulling her face because it's interesting.
- 25:31Speaker 3: They give you lots of interesting stats.
- 25:32Speaker 2: Through the give me a stuf, throw me the most interesting.
- 25:36Speaker 2: That's come your wife.
- 25:37Speaker 1: Sixty six percent of No Dribble hosts love the census
- 25:40Speaker 1: sixty six percent six point six recurring.
- 25:44Speaker 5: Actually, yes so.
- 25:46Speaker 3: But when so, when the night came to fill it out,
- 25:49Speaker 3: the kids were all really excited. So Evelyn sat down
- 25:52Speaker 3: and filled it out as me. So I had to
- 25:54Speaker 3: go through and make sure she was correcting what she'd done.
- 25:57Speaker 3: But we were laughing at the fact that five years
- 26:00Speaker 3: ago when the census was done, Evelyn was nine and
- 26:03Speaker 3: Austin was four, and you know, you go through and
- 26:06Speaker 3: there's a question about how well do you speak English.
- 26:10Speaker 3: So Matthew was doing it that night and he or
- 26:12Speaker 3: the meat ruck I should say the meat trait was
- 26:13Speaker 3: doing it that night, and he was going through and
- 26:16Speaker 3: he was reading the questions out loud, and we were
- 26:18Speaker 3: answering because this is the fun stuff we do as
- 26:20Speaker 3: a family, Catherine.
- 26:21Speaker 1: So then he said, that little house on the prairie.
- 26:24Speaker 3: That's right, that's what we do because we don't have
- 26:26Speaker 3: a television in the living room. So he said, how
- 26:31Speaker 3: well do you speak English, Evelyn? And Evelyn went to
- 26:34Speaker 3: answer like very well, and Austin, as a four year old,
- 26:37Speaker 3: looked up from whatever he was doing lego and said loudly, oh,
- 26:42Speaker 3: which I thought was very smart for a little four
- 26:44Speaker 3: year old.
- 26:45Speaker 5: Anyway, there's not loudly on there.
- 26:46Speaker 3: We laughed a lot more than you two did, So
- 26:48Speaker 3: perhaps I should work on my delivery of that particular joke.
- 26:51Speaker 3: Maybe the punchline wasn't quite well.
- 26:52Speaker 1: At first I thought you were saying he remarked loudly,
- 26:55Speaker 1: and then I was thinking yep, so he made a
- 26:58Speaker 1: declarative statement of the following, and then I realized no, no,
- 27:02Speaker 1: that was what he said.
- 27:03Speaker 3: Yes, because he's used to his sister being loud, and
- 27:06Speaker 3: so that was what he thought we should write anything.
- 27:10Speaker 1: I don't know Evelyn is loud.
- 27:13Speaker 5: She was when she was little. She's sort of.
- 27:16Speaker 1: I know her is bemused, having been to some functions.
- 27:19Speaker 1: I've never seen her look more like her father than
- 27:21Speaker 1: at the Swift's thirty year dinner when the three of
- 27:24Speaker 1: us were a few drinks in and Evelyn was having
- 27:26Speaker 1: to take photos of us with dribblers, and she was
- 27:28Speaker 1: just there smiling indulgently.
- 27:31Speaker 4: And anything interesting come out of this census when you're
- 27:36Speaker 4: doing it with the family.
- 27:37Speaker 3: As nothing other than nothing, nothing exciting.
- 27:43Speaker 1: Controversy apparently is the question of who does the housework.
- 27:48Speaker 1: Apparently this is a massive clash in a lot of couples.
- 27:52Speaker 1: And like, I didn't realize that because you know, for me,
- 27:55Speaker 1: it's it's fifty to fifty, if anything. Pete probably does
- 27:59Speaker 1: more than than I do. I do this stuff though
- 28:02Speaker 1: I keep the lights on. You know, there's just this
- 28:04Speaker 1: this house does not function without me. But he does
- 28:07Speaker 1: a lot of the other stuff that this house functions
- 28:10Speaker 1: with some degree of hygiene. Thank you to my husband
- 28:13Speaker 1: and this house. We do not drown under laundry too much.
- 28:17Speaker 1: But apparently that was a big, a big point of controversy.
- 28:21Speaker 1: And I had caught up with a friend for a
- 28:22Speaker 1: coffee on Friday morning and her husband put himself down
- 28:25Speaker 1: as fifty percent same number of hours as her because
- 28:29Speaker 1: he walks the dog. And I laugh, You can't put
- 28:34Speaker 1: down what about that's still one thing? Yeah, well, well
- 28:40Speaker 1: but it takes a fair bit of time. So because
- 28:42Speaker 1: it's not about it actually I keep saying it as
- 28:44Speaker 1: a percentage thing, but it was actually blocks of time,
- 28:46Speaker 1: wasn't It was sort of nineteen to blah hours or whatever.
- 28:51Speaker 1: So he calculated those hours, and then.
- 28:54Speaker 3: I wanted to go through and put Dobby Robovac in
- 28:56Speaker 3: as a sentient being because Domy actually works the hardest
- 28:59Speaker 3: in her house.
- 29:00Speaker 2: Well, I mean, one day that'll be happening, won't it.
- 29:04Speaker 3: How many robots by then I'll own many because I'm
- 29:07Speaker 3: going to get robots to clean my windows?
- 29:08Speaker 5: Is my next thing?
- 29:11Speaker 1: You're on a robot.
- 29:12Speaker 4: I had to do mine before I left, obviously, and
- 29:16Speaker 4: pretend that I was still in my house.
- 29:19Speaker 1: You were allowed to do that, but I didn't. I
- 29:22Speaker 1: had to put my son down as not bank here
- 29:24Speaker 1: because he was at boarding school, so they have to
- 29:26Speaker 1: they register him at boarding school, and then I had
- 29:28Speaker 1: to sort of say he's here, but he was at
- 29:31Speaker 1: boarding school. But I didn't do it. I'm usually a
- 29:34Speaker 1: massive rule follower, and forgot to do it on the day,
- 29:37Speaker 1: and so the next day, and this is my daughter
- 29:39Speaker 1: obviously has has my disorder on this because she was like,
- 29:42Speaker 1: did you do the census? So no, no, I didn't.
- 29:44Speaker 1: And then on the Thursday morning when she woke up,
- 29:47Speaker 1: she said did you do the census? And I went, oh, no,
- 29:49Speaker 1: I didn't. She's freaking out and I said, no, no,
- 29:50Speaker 1: it's okay. ABC Radio the chief statistician said on Friday,
- 29:54Speaker 1: if you hadn't done it by then, they would start
- 29:56Speaker 1: making contact with you. But they don't want to find
- 29:58Speaker 1: anyone they want the day.
- 30:00Speaker 3: So do you know what our sentence form is still
- 30:03Speaker 3: sitting on my dining table. I should probably go and
- 30:05Speaker 3: post it, shouldn't they?
- 30:06Speaker 2: Oh my god?
- 30:07Speaker 4: So you two carrying on about the sense.
- 30:10Speaker 1: Why didn't you do it online?
- 30:13Speaker 6: Because I love an old school form though if we've
- 30:20Speaker 6: had this, but if you ask for one, I love
- 30:23Speaker 6: the feeling you're feeling that stuff out.
- 30:24Speaker 4: Is that why you did it or just because you're
- 30:26Speaker 4: in the country and they feel like you can't get
- 30:28Speaker 4: it something?
- 30:29Speaker 5: Maybe I don't know.
- 30:31Speaker 3: Actually it wasn't on my list of things that it was.
- 30:33Speaker 3: Matthew was in charge, he had the form and he
- 30:35Speaker 3: gave it to Evelyn to do so the kids thoroughly
- 30:38Speaker 3: enjoyed sitting up at the bench and doing it.
- 30:40Speaker 1: Yeah, I like that. I like that. I'm done with
- 30:43Speaker 1: the form feeling. When we went to Europe last year
- 30:45Speaker 1: as a family, I just threw everyone's forms at them
- 30:48Speaker 1: and said, someone else fill in these things with your
- 30:50Speaker 1: passports and whatever else. And I had another glass of wine.
- 30:54Speaker 1: And that was good time as soon as you're finding
- 30:57Speaker 1: something useful to do with your spare time.
- 31:00Speaker 3: Like you know, I got the robo back to save time,
- 31:02Speaker 3: and now I just sit and watch it.
- 31:04Speaker 5: With a glass of wine.
- 31:06Speaker 4: You should put your wine on top of it, and
- 31:08Speaker 4: then you can get a little bit of incidental exercise
- 31:10Speaker 4: when you need a drink, He's gonna find it.
- 31:13Speaker 1: Well. Some guy rang into ABC Radio and asked, can
- 31:16Speaker 1: he put in the programming time that it took him
- 31:19Speaker 1: to program the robot vacuum cleaner? So well, no, he
- 31:25Speaker 1: actually asked whether he could include the time that his
- 31:28Speaker 1: robot vacuum cleaner does because he did the recording, And
- 31:31Speaker 1: the chief statistician said, you could put in the time
- 31:33Speaker 1: it took you to do the programming, but not the
- 31:36Speaker 1: actual cleaning because you're not doing it.
- 31:38Speaker 2: I love how that was a man as well.
- 31:40Speaker 4: Yeah, so scraping the barrel to find minutes of what
- 31:45Speaker 4: they're contributing to the household.
- 31:47Speaker 2: That's a little unpaid labor.
- 31:49Speaker 1: Yeah, well, here you go No Dribble the podcast where
- 31:52Speaker 1: we talk about netball, but we also talk about the
- 31:55Speaker 1: excitement of statistics. And I can't wait till June when
- 31:59Speaker 1: this information starts to land. We might do a whole
- 32:02Speaker 1: segment on the results.
- 32:05Speaker 2: Yeah, that's gonna love her here that day.
- 32:07Speaker 1: If we added Gordy into the mix, I think that
- 32:10Speaker 1: the statistic about No Dribble hosts who are interested in
- 32:14Speaker 1: the census might drop to fifty percent.
- 32:17Speaker 5: Do you reckon? Do you think Gordy doesn't like it?
- 32:20Speaker 1: I think Gordy would be neutral on the census. I
- 32:24Speaker 1: think that I don't know, Gordy, let us know where
- 32:27Speaker 1: do you stand on the Census. I think she'd be
- 32:29Speaker 1: in favor of it as an activity, but not perhaps
- 32:31Speaker 1: to be so excited about. All right, Well that's about
- 32:34Speaker 1: all we've got time for today. Two exciting announcements of
- 32:37Speaker 1: that though. Look at me and what I am wearing.
- 32:41Speaker 1: Look at me, Look at me, everyone, look at me.
- 32:44Speaker 1: I'm going to So what does that say?
- 32:47Speaker 2: Netballers do it without dribbling.
- 32:49Speaker 1: Ball is a low dribbling So we have some new
- 32:53Speaker 1: merch being released and it's a no Dribble shirt. It's
- 32:55Speaker 1: got a little tiny ven diagram on the back with
- 32:58Speaker 1: Ellis Cox and swim podcast about netball sort of. But
- 33:02Speaker 1: I'm not going to turn around and do that. But
- 33:04Speaker 1: it's a netballers do it without dribbling range that we have.
- 33:07Speaker 1: We'll have jumpers, we'll have men's shirts because there's not
- 33:10Speaker 1: many netball not many merch options for men apparently, is
- 33:15Speaker 1: what I'm reading on social media. But yeah, that's dropping live,
- 33:19Speaker 1: So go to no Dribble dot com dot au. That
- 33:21Speaker 1: will be up by today being Wednesday, one.
- 33:24Speaker 2: Of those ones. Although I do love the classics.
- 33:26Speaker 1: Yeah, well the classics are still available. So you're in
- 33:30Speaker 1: a classic. Liz is in a classic.
- 33:32Speaker 3: There, look and while you know, you were just talking about, like,
- 33:37Speaker 3: you know, something that is really good. But I found
- 33:39Speaker 3: something related to an earlier conversation that I want to
- 33:41Speaker 3: drop into the end. So we're talking about the Bureau
- 33:44Speaker 3: of Statistics Instagram. So I've just found an interesting stat
- 33:49Speaker 3: for you.
- 33:49Speaker 5: Catherine.
- 33:50Speaker 3: Oh, okay, life expecting expectancy for Ossie's versus Game of
- 33:54Speaker 3: Throwing characters. So the average man lives for eighty one years,
- 33:58Speaker 3: the Averagejozzy woman lives for eighty five years, the average
- 34:02Speaker 3: Game of Thrones character lives for twenty nine hours ago.
- 34:06Speaker 5: Don't tell me.
- 34:06Speaker 1: They've gone into high life expert. This is the second
- 34:10Speaker 1: time we've tried to bring Game of Thrones into No Dribble.
- 34:13Speaker 1: The first time was when I talked about Sporty Swift,
- 34:16Speaker 1: the mascot who reminds me of hod Or in Game
- 34:21Speaker 1: of Thrones. Anyway, apparently not everyone welcomed my comments on
- 34:25Speaker 1: Ga the Giant last on.
- 34:28Speaker 4: You know, I did laugh though, because it's factual. As
- 34:31Speaker 4: much as that wasn't welcomed, maybe.
- 34:32Speaker 1: Oh like, I would retire Sporty before Ga. If I
- 34:35Speaker 1: had a choice of which suit to retire, it's Sporty
- 34:38Speaker 1: Swift because it just looks there's something gone wrong in
- 34:42Speaker 1: the neck of these terrible of these mascot costumes. But
- 34:45Speaker 1: no shade to the people who are inside. I don't
- 34:47Speaker 1: know who's inside the mascot costume, so you can't be offended.
- 34:51Speaker 1: I'm talking about the costume, and I'm hoping that the
- 34:54Speaker 1: Ga the Giant costume wearer will come to the artist
- 34:59Speaker 1: formerly known Giants mascot and embrace that. That's a Darryl
- 35:04Speaker 1: Milton one I've stolen there. He's no longer referring it
- 35:07Speaker 1: to as old Giants. It's the team formerly known as
- 35:10Speaker 1: the Giants.
- 35:10Speaker 2: Where do we find the suit? That would be great, well,
- 35:13Speaker 2: I would address up.
- 35:14Speaker 1: It would be great for No Dribble to be able
- 35:17Speaker 1: to keep that in our little museum of history of netball.
- 35:23Speaker 4: And the swifty one that used to have the big
- 35:25Speaker 4: boobs and the lipstick, let's get her back out.
- 35:28Speaker 2: Remember her, she's so wrong.
- 35:31Speaker 1: Anyway. So yes, new merchon sale. Also tickets to our
- 35:37Speaker 1: Constellation Cup Eve event. We have a Central Sydney venue
- 35:41Speaker 1: down at Darling Harbor there. It's going to be on
- 35:45Speaker 1: the Friday, the Saturday night, the night before Constellation Cups.
- 35:50Speaker 1: As you know, we like to start things not too late,
- 35:52Speaker 1: so it'll be a five to eight function and it's
- 35:55Speaker 1: shaping up to be super fun. So if you are
- 35:59Speaker 1: going to the Constellation Cup, which I think is the
- 36:01Speaker 1: twenty fifth of October, and our event is the Saturday,
- 36:05Speaker 1: the day immediately prior to that, the twenty fourth, so
- 36:08Speaker 1: those tickets will go on sale this week too, But
- 36:10Speaker 1: that's all we've got time for. In our Wednesday episode,
- 36:12Speaker 1: thank you for joining us and the podcast where we
- 36:15Speaker 1: talk about netball, we talk about so much more. My
- 36:17Speaker 1: name's Carolyn Swindell.
- 36:18Speaker 2: I'm Catcox, I'm Lozells.
- 36:20Speaker 1: Bye bye,
