- 0:00Speaker 1: Yeah, that uh, Chuck Norris was chasing the Tyrannosaurus Rex.
- 0:05Speaker 1: The rex was not chasing the jeep. Murray, Murray, you there.
- 0:09Speaker 1: You love sandwiches. Huh, Let's go to uh eighty.
- 0:13Speaker 2: It was bo.
- 0:16Speaker 3: Wow that Prime time. Maybe I had a crush on
- 0:18Speaker 3: Betty Rubbell.
- 0:19Speaker 1: I honestly, until after the segment ended and we went
- 0:22Speaker 1: to a commercial break, had no idea that Jonathan Coachman
- 0:25Speaker 1: was black.
- 0:25Speaker 3: He caught them the game last night, although they won
- 0:28Speaker 3: the game. You're listening just to Godsend Company.
- 0:31Speaker 4: The Great Frank Guy Sola is with us. I have
- 0:34Speaker 4: no idea where Israel Gutiere is this?
- 0:36Speaker 3: What are you shrugging your shoulders about about?
- 0:38Speaker 5: Said?
- 0:38Speaker 6: Because you're just trying to be nice. You probably has
- 0:41Speaker 6: five other people to come on this early in the morning.
- 0:43Speaker 6: Nobody would do it, so I did it. So you feel,
- 0:45Speaker 6: you know, obligated to say great.
- 0:47Speaker 5: Well, I know you don't feel that way, but that's true.
- 0:50Speaker 4: The Great Frank Guy Sola is with us, the only
- 0:52Speaker 4: person willing to come up with us.
- 0:55Speaker 3: What time is breed in the morning? How are you, buddy,
- 1:00Speaker 3: how are you good?
- 1:01Speaker 6: Well, you know, I just finished my radio show, so
- 1:03Speaker 6: I go right from talking for three hours. Now I
- 1:06Speaker 6: get to be with Stu Gott's. But if it makes
- 1:07Speaker 6: you feel better, I saved all my good material for you,
- 1:11Speaker 6: not for your audience. It's three three hours of boring radio. Yes,
- 1:14Speaker 6: so I could save my good stuff for you. Yes,
- 1:17Speaker 6: And I love the background there.
- 1:18Speaker 4: You guys have checked this out where Frank looks like
- 1:20Speaker 4: he's in serious XM. But if you look a little
- 1:23Speaker 4: bit to the right and past the side that's behind him,
- 1:26Speaker 4: you'll see that he's at home.
- 1:27Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:28Speaker 6: Yeah, I come on though, I used to drive, so
- 1:31Speaker 6: I'm covering the Knicks.
- 1:32Speaker 5: This will be like a SOB So you.
- 1:33Speaker 6: Want to play like violin music in the background, covering
- 1:37Speaker 6: the Knicks. Getting home at like twelve right, then I'm
- 1:40Speaker 6: up at five thirty because I got to beat the
- 1:42Speaker 6: traffic to the tunnel to go on at seven. Then
- 1:45Speaker 6: there are a lot of days too, you would like this.
- 1:47Speaker 6: I'm doing a little radio on forty eighth Street at Sirius,
- 1:51Speaker 6: get a little bit of a break, then over to
- 1:54Speaker 6: ESPN studio for Around the Horn, then Nick Game Wow,
- 1:57Speaker 6: then back the next day in the morning. So just
- 2:00Speaker 6: so my kids didn't have to have any college debt.
- 2:02Speaker 6: What a great guy I am.
- 2:04Speaker 4: Yes, that's a big day. No, that's a that's a
- 2:06Speaker 4: lathy day for you. It's a tough day, Frank, I'm serious.
- 2:08Speaker 5: I know. I you know, I aged about twenty years
- 2:12Speaker 5: during that during that time. But it was fun.
- 2:14Speaker 3: It's only people saying, you know what I would give
- 2:17Speaker 3: for I sold a schedule.
- 2:19Speaker 6: No, no, no, I did love it, but it was
- 2:21Speaker 6: you know, when you wake up, and when you're a
- 2:23Speaker 6: sports writer, you know you covering mostly at night, especially
- 2:27Speaker 6: if you're a beat writer. So I never was a
- 2:29Speaker 6: morning person. Now I get up all the time early,
- 2:31Speaker 6: at like six o'clock.
- 2:33Speaker 3: I like you really, you like getting up early.
- 2:36Speaker 5: I do, well, I have to because I'm doing the
- 2:38Speaker 5: radio show. But even on Saturdays and Sundays, I got
- 2:40Speaker 5: up early now too, I.
- 2:42Speaker 4: Like, so you get so you'll take your your weekday
- 2:45Speaker 4: kind of schedule and you'll take it over into into
- 2:48Speaker 4: the weekends with you just to kind of keep some consistency.
- 2:50Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm basically a loser. I have no life.
- 2:52Speaker 6: I don't really go out at night, and then on
- 2:54Speaker 6: the weekends, you know what, I've been doing a lot too.
- 2:57Speaker 6: I watch these games because believe or not I'm doing
- 2:59Speaker 6: an NBA radio show. I'm doing an NBA radio show,
- 3:01Speaker 6: so I have to watch the games and then I
- 3:03Speaker 6: get up early, and I watched the replay early in
- 3:07Speaker 6: the morning. But the problem with some of the replays,
- 3:09Speaker 6: like Prime video, like God Blessed Taylor Rooks. But on
- 3:12Speaker 6: Prime when you try to like first of all, the
- 3:13Speaker 6: buffering takes forever, and when you're doing that at four
- 3:16Speaker 6: in the morning, you're ready to throw a brick through
- 3:17Speaker 6: your television. And then it has like the fast forward
- 3:21Speaker 6: is sometimes a little messed up, and sometimes when you
- 3:23Speaker 6: fast forward it goes right to commercials.
- 3:25Speaker 5: Right there you go, that's my life.
- 3:27Speaker 3: Taylor, can you help him out? From a technological she
- 3:30Speaker 3: should be customer service?
- 3:31Speaker 5: Absolutely?
- 3:33Speaker 4: The buffering, yes, yes, But somehow what I'm saying is,
- 3:40Speaker 4: if Taylor was doing was going through that same experience,
- 3:43Speaker 4: I feel like there would be no buffering.
- 3:45Speaker 5: He would know, he would true, he would just know
- 3:49Speaker 5: how to do it. Yes, it would be fair.
- 3:50Speaker 4: Absolutely, Frank, you have two big knick fans on the
- 3:54Speaker 4: zoom with you, Me and Taylor, of course Mikey A. Well,
- 3:57Speaker 4: no he's not. He's trying to jinks us. So I
- 4:01Speaker 4: am wondering here what it would mean. What do you
- 4:04Speaker 4: think it would mean if the Knicks we were able
- 4:07Speaker 4: to get to the NBA Finals, Because you know this
- 4:10Speaker 4: city as well as anyone. You've been covering the city
- 4:12Speaker 4: for a long long time, and you've been covering the
- 4:14Speaker 4: sport for a long lot of time. In New York,
- 4:17Speaker 4: we have choices baseball, we have the Mets and yank Kepes. Football,
- 4:20Speaker 4: we have the Jets and Giants. You have the Islanders
- 4:22Speaker 4: and Rangers. At hockey, we are stuck and saddled with
- 4:24Speaker 4: one NBA team. It's the New York Knicks, and we've
- 4:27Speaker 4: been waiting forever to see him get it done. What
- 4:29Speaker 4: do you think it means to New York if they
- 4:31Speaker 4: actually get it done?
- 4:32Speaker 5: Well, I think a couple of things. Obviously the excitement,
- 4:34Speaker 5: but I think there would be a lot of relief
- 4:35Speaker 5: relief because the last time they made it was in
- 4:37Speaker 5: ninety nine. That's one thing.
- 4:39Speaker 6: But I think when everyone looked at the team that
- 4:42Speaker 6: was coming into this season, considering that Tyres Halliburton was
- 4:45Speaker 6: going to be available for Indiana, and we all knew
- 4:48Speaker 6: that Jason Tatum would miss a lot of time whether
- 4:50Speaker 6: or not he came back would be a question mark.
- 4:52Speaker 6: But obviously Boston treated it like a gap year in
- 4:55Speaker 6: terms of the players that they got rid of to get,
- 4:57Speaker 6: you know, to help out their salary cap, you know.
- 4:59Speaker 6: So I think that Boston was a much better team
- 5:02Speaker 6: last year. Obviously Indiana was much better last year. So
- 5:05Speaker 6: I think it was all set up for the Knicks
- 5:08Speaker 6: to make it. Now we'll see how they do in
- 5:09Speaker 6: the next round, but I would still think that they
- 5:11Speaker 6: would be favored. You know, the Knicks, like, you know,
- 5:13Speaker 6: we're all like classic New Yorkers, Like they did a
- 5:15Speaker 6: lot of complaining during the year. A lot of the
- 5:17Speaker 6: players weren't getting along well when it came to the
- 5:19Speaker 6: playoffs after falling behind two to one to Atlanta, and
- 5:22Speaker 6: they finally.
- 5:23Speaker 5: Figured out how to defend CJ. McCollum.
- 5:25Speaker 6: Ever since then, they haven't stopped winning. They've won seven
- 5:28Speaker 6: in a row, and they've also listened. They've had an
- 5:30Speaker 6: easier road. Atlanta isn't a great team, and I actually
- 5:33Speaker 6: think Philadelphia's even weaker, especially coming off a seven game
- 5:37Speaker 6: series against Boston. They weren't equipped to win to beat
- 5:41Speaker 6: the Knicks. So the Knicks have caught breaks. From the
- 5:43Speaker 6: standpoint of the teams that they're playing. But that's you
- 5:45Speaker 6: should get a break if you're the third seed, and
- 5:47Speaker 6: I think a relief. I think a lot of the
- 5:50Speaker 6: fans would feel relief that they finally made it to
- 5:52Speaker 6: an NBA finals.
- 5:53Speaker 2: Yeah, Frank, what would you say to Knicks fans who
- 5:55Speaker 2: skipped out on the Alford Payton years and started referring
- 5:58Speaker 2: to the Miami Heat as.
- 5:59Speaker 6: We Well, it's funny you say that.
- 6:04Speaker 3: Who are you talking to?
- 6:06Speaker 5: Everyone is first of all, that's not true.
- 6:08Speaker 6: But anyway, it is like everyone is killing the sixer
- 6:12Speaker 6: fans for not being in the building for Game.
- 6:14Speaker 5: Four, right.
- 6:16Speaker 6: I actually think that that tells me that they are
- 6:18Speaker 6: a good fan base because you're kind of protesting. The
- 6:20Speaker 6: team was already down three. Judging from history, they weren't
- 6:24Speaker 6: going to come back and win. It was Mother's Day.
- 6:26Speaker 6: They end up getting blown out. So and this is
- 6:29Speaker 6: the way sports has become now. It's the players criticizing
- 6:32Speaker 6: the fans for not showing up when the story is
- 6:35Speaker 6: that the team didn't show up in play right. You know,
- 6:38Speaker 6: they were terrible in Game three, terrible in Game four.
- 6:41Speaker 6: So the Nick fans always had passion, but you know
- 6:43Speaker 6: they get beaten down all those years when the when
- 6:45Speaker 6: the teams were terrible and you know, we in the
- 6:47Speaker 6: media are there to like write about it, and then
- 6:50Speaker 6: the organization is getting mad at us because they saying, well,
- 6:52Speaker 6: you guys are way too negative. Actually, we're just reflecting
- 6:55Speaker 6: what the what the score, and what the record is.
- 6:57Speaker 6: When the team is good, the coverage, I mean, look
- 6:59Speaker 6: at the cover now, it's like everyone's waving pomp pomps. Essentially,
- 7:03Speaker 6: look at the coverage in Miami.
- 7:04Speaker 5: When they're winning.
- 7:04Speaker 6: Everyone is on the you know, everyone's part of the
- 7:06Speaker 6: pat Riley Army. Now not so much when they haven't had,
- 7:10Speaker 6: you know, a few good years.
- 7:11Speaker 3: Yes, it's all based on winning and losing. You know that.
- 7:14Speaker 4: But going back to Philly for a second, I understand
- 7:16Speaker 4: what you're saying about the fans, but it's not like
- 7:17Speaker 4: they didn't see their team just a week before come
- 7:20Speaker 4: back from a three one typicide again, you know.
- 7:23Speaker 6: I get it, But it's a come on, Stu. It's
- 7:25Speaker 6: funny how I know that. Like Embiid and I give
- 7:29Speaker 6: him beat credit. He had the surgery, he ended up
- 7:31Speaker 6: coming back and playing wasn't good. In the first game
- 7:34Speaker 6: against Boston, they went three straight. But it's it was
- 7:37Speaker 6: treated like he was having a generational playoff runt. When
- 7:40Speaker 6: the dust settled, he played seven games. They went three
- 7:44Speaker 6: and four in the games that he played in. So
- 7:46Speaker 6: it's like, you know, we Nikola Jokic has now reached
- 7:49Speaker 6: this point. He gets knocked out in the first round.
- 7:51Speaker 6: He's getting criticized. That's all fair. Look at Lebron all
- 7:54Speaker 6: the years when he was losing in the finals getting
- 7:56Speaker 6: criticized like Embiid you got people want to give him
- 7:58Speaker 6: a parade because they're right. He beat the Celtics in
- 8:00Speaker 6: a game seven, And come on, how good really was
- 8:02Speaker 6: that Celtic team? I know that had a great regular season.
- 8:05Speaker 6: They're one of the teams that took the regular season seriously.
- 8:08Speaker 6: But I'll tell you something else about these numbers. Detroit
- 8:11Speaker 6: won sixty games during the regular season. You really think
- 8:13Speaker 6: that Detroit team was better than the Knicks? The Knicks
- 8:16Speaker 6: could have won sixty games if they were all in
- 8:18Speaker 6: on the regular season. No offense to you know, all
- 8:21Speaker 6: your friends down there in Miami, But to me, Detroit
- 8:23Speaker 6: sixty is a lot like bam Adabay, who's eighty three.
- 8:26Speaker 6: It's like an asterisk next to it. This season was
- 8:28Speaker 6: a little bit different in the NBA.
- 8:30Speaker 3: I am so glad right now. Is real Goudy Eires
- 8:32Speaker 3: is not present for this.
- 8:36Speaker 5: Somewhere he's shaken the last nine points. Said that seventy
- 8:40Speaker 5: four points was good, was a fine?
- 8:42Speaker 4: Yeah, ridiculous? Come on, yes, absolutely absurd. Spulster should be
- 8:45Speaker 4: ashamed of himself, by the way, and so should Riley.
- 8:47Speaker 4: Go ahead, Taylor.
- 8:49Speaker 2: Frank, if you're the Pistons, what would you do with
- 8:51Speaker 2: Jalen during this summer because it feels like he's played
- 8:54Speaker 2: his way out of a lot of money in his contract.
- 8:57Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 8:58Speaker 6: I think it's the curse of the Angel rees cocoa puffs,
- 9:01Speaker 6: That's what it must be.
- 9:02Speaker 5: I don't something's going on there with him.
- 9:05Speaker 6: I guess they said the last time an All Star
- 9:07Speaker 6: has has had his average drop that far, So he
- 9:10Speaker 6: was at nineteen something during the regular season. Now he's
- 9:14Speaker 6: at ten points. The only guy that's had his average
- 9:16Speaker 6: drop more was Will Chamberlain back in sixty two. But
- 9:19Speaker 6: Wilt average fifty points per game during the pend of
- 9:21Speaker 6: season and thirty five in the playoffs.
- 9:23Speaker 5: It's I mean, come on, you have to admit it's shocking.
- 9:27Speaker 6: How poor he's playing, he's not even doing a good
- 9:29Speaker 6: job rebounding the ball, and he's like a bull in
- 9:31Speaker 6: a china shop when he's playing. So I don't know
- 9:34Speaker 6: what happened to him. You know, it's funny. My radio
- 9:36Speaker 6: partner brid' calibrit, he brought up a great point. If
- 9:39Speaker 6: the guy had twisted his ankle on the eve of
- 9:41Speaker 6: the playoffs and didn't play in a playoff game, he's
- 9:43Speaker 6: getting all the crazy money from the Pistons. Now you
- 9:47Speaker 6: wonder what they're going to do with him. I voted
- 9:49Speaker 6: him All NBA. I don't know if he was on
- 9:52Speaker 6: the second or the third team. He's going to be
- 9:54Speaker 6: an All NBA player this season.
- 9:56Speaker 5: But the way that he's played in the playoffs, if
- 9:58Speaker 5: you're at Detroit, you got to be thinking, especially they
- 10:00Speaker 5: lose this series, you have to be thinking like, what
- 10:03Speaker 5: are we going to do?
- 10:03Speaker 6: Like our team certainly isn't good enough and we have
- 10:06Speaker 6: a significant Jalen Durhan problem on our hands.
- 10:09Speaker 3: This is the rare case where you could say with.
- 10:13Speaker 4: Ninety nine percent confidence that, yeah, the moment's too big
- 10:16Speaker 4: for Jalen duran You say that about certain athletes, and
- 10:18Speaker 4: normally people there'll be some blowback, but I think everyone
- 10:21Speaker 4: would agree it appears like the moment's too big for
- 10:23Speaker 4: him and.
- 10:25Speaker 6: You know what's to and you look at the way
- 10:26Speaker 6: that they play, like a lot of baskets that Jalen
- 10:29Speaker 6: Duran gets during the season is because Kate Cunningham just creates,
- 10:34Speaker 6: lays it off to him and he gets a dunk.
- 10:35Speaker 5: He had there was that great moment.
- 10:37Speaker 6: I think it was either game one or Game two
- 10:40Speaker 6: against Cleveland where he had three straight dugs, all because
- 10:44Speaker 6: it was all created by Kate Cuttingham. So maybe it's
- 10:47Speaker 6: a little bit harder in the playoffs, but you also
- 10:49Speaker 6: have to raise your level. Look at James Harden in
- 10:51Speaker 6: games one and two against Detroit. My big thing with
- 10:53Speaker 6: him was you're not playing hard enough, right like that
- 10:56Speaker 6: That's like the issue, like you have to raise your
- 10:58Speaker 6: intensity level. That's why you look at Max Struce and
- 11:01Speaker 6: I know, you know, I goof around about the heat
- 11:04Speaker 6: culture and stuff, but you could tell that Max Strews
- 11:06Speaker 6: has been through it before, yes with Miami, and I
- 11:08Speaker 6: felt like in games one and two he was looking
- 11:10Speaker 6: at his teammates on Cleveland, like Donovan Mitchell and James
- 11:13Speaker 6: Harden say like do you guys realize it's the playoffs,
- 11:15Speaker 6: like we got to play like this much harder. And
- 11:18Speaker 6: I think for Jalen Doran, I think that's kind of
- 11:20Speaker 6: an issue. He looks a little lost out there. He's
- 11:23Speaker 6: not playing hard enough, certainly not playing well enough either,
- 11:25Speaker 6: And I think you're a hundred percent right the moment
- 11:27Speaker 6: he's not certainly seizing the moment.
- 11:30Speaker 3: Stick outs here for my friends. Over at FanDuel.

- 13:14Speaker 8: In Louisiana, James Harden since Izzy railed on him on
- 13:29Speaker 8: you know we filled in for Colin Cowherd, James Harden.
- 13:32Speaker 5: Has been fantastic.
- 13:33Speaker 3: Sure, you agreed with Izzy.
- 13:35Speaker 4: Through the first game, first two games, Harden wasn't playing
- 13:37Speaker 4: hoarded up And what have you seen differently from James
- 13:40Speaker 4: Harden's please hoarded out?
- 13:42Speaker 5: It's weird, right.
- 13:43Speaker 6: I kind of think the guy has a laid back
- 13:46Speaker 6: attitude and when the team is losing he's not playing well,
- 13:49Speaker 6: it's like, come on, man. But then the way that
- 13:52Speaker 6: he deals with the criticism is pretty good. He really
- 13:54Speaker 6: didn't let it get to him. And I think he knew. Listen,
- 13:57Speaker 6: he played. He played really well with the Clippers this year.
- 14:01Speaker 6: You know, he was defending. You know, he's still a
- 14:03Speaker 6: great passer. I just think that I think he realized
- 14:07Speaker 6: it was you know, he wanted to get traded. He
- 14:09Speaker 6: was okay with going to Cleveland because I think he
- 14:11Speaker 6: knows that they're going to pay him. He had a
- 14:13Speaker 6: lot of pressure on him in that Game three and
- 14:15Speaker 6: they were losing in Game three, and I think I
- 14:19Speaker 6: think playing harder had a little bit to do with it.
- 14:21Speaker 6: I think being a little bit more aggressive on the
- 14:23Speaker 6: defensive end. You make a couple of shots, you get
- 14:25Speaker 6: to the free throw line. I always like the trade
- 14:27Speaker 6: just because Darius Carland for me, is hurt all the time.
- 14:31Speaker 6: He's undersize, And listen, this is the closest they've been
- 14:35Speaker 6: to a conference finals without Lebron James since nineteen ninety
- 14:38Speaker 6: two when they made the conference finals. So if they
- 14:40Speaker 6: can get for it, oh yeah, if they can get
- 14:41Speaker 6: a win tonight, no matter how you look at it,
- 14:44Speaker 6: it's like the Calves. It means a lot to that
- 14:47Speaker 6: organization to accomplish something without Lebron James on your team.
- 14:51Speaker 2: And Frank, the Calves haven't lost at home this postseason.
- 14:55Speaker 2: So if they do close it out tonight and they
- 14:57Speaker 2: do move on to the Eastern Conference Finals, how do
- 14:59Speaker 2: you think they would with the Knicks?
- 15:01Speaker 6: You know, the one issue that they've had with the
- 15:03Speaker 6: Knicks has really been Evan Mobley and Jared Allen Mitchell
- 15:07Speaker 6: Robinson and Karl Anthony Towns have had their way with
- 15:10Speaker 6: them with those two players. So they got to prove
- 15:13Speaker 6: that they're tough enough. The one difference will be, you know,
- 15:16Speaker 6: for Harden, you know, he'll be a tough cover, as
- 15:19Speaker 6: will Donovan Mitchell and for you know, Jalen Brunson is
- 15:21Speaker 6: a terrific player. But They did a pretty good job
- 15:24Speaker 6: hiding him in those last few games against Atlanta, putting
- 15:26Speaker 6: him on dis and Daniels. It's not gonna be as
- 15:29Speaker 6: easy against the Cleveland Cavaliers, so that would be the
- 15:32Speaker 6: chance that they would have. And you wonder too, for
- 15:34Speaker 6: guys like Donovan Mitchell, who's never been out of the
- 15:36Speaker 6: second round. Sometimes you get over that emotional hump and
- 15:40Speaker 6: maybe you know that that will he can relax a
- 15:43Speaker 6: little bit. Maybe the same thing with Evan Mobley. Listen,
- 15:45Speaker 6: they'll be the underdog and they're gonna have to start
- 15:47Speaker 6: on the road. So if they're gonna win that series,
- 15:50Speaker 6: they have to win a road game. Just like beating Detroit.
- 15:53Speaker 6: They we're gonna have to win a road game, and
- 15:55Speaker 6: they did it in Game five. I think I think
- 15:57Speaker 6: the series will be a lot more competitive than people
- 15:59Speaker 6: think if it's Cleveland, because I think Cleveland has kind
- 16:03Speaker 6: of found a bit of a groove and what the
- 16:05Speaker 6: two guys that I really like on their team are
- 16:08Speaker 6: Max Strus and Dennis Shooter because they have a toughness
- 16:12Speaker 6: to them and their competitive and you need that in
- 16:14Speaker 6: the play. Why do you think Paul Reid, all of
- 16:16Speaker 6: a sudden is playing for Detroit because he's competitive and
- 16:19Speaker 6: he goes out there and he fights, you need it's
- 16:21Speaker 6: a different animal in the playoffs. And that's why when
- 16:23Speaker 6: they traded for Shooter, I saw, you know, I do
- 16:25Speaker 6: the net games on Yes and Shooter. When he showed
- 16:27Speaker 6: up there last year, I was like blown away by
- 16:30Speaker 6: how a how good he was, and he's nasty. He
- 16:32Speaker 6: wants to fight every game, right, and like that's like
- 16:34Speaker 6: you kind of need that. And that's why I thought
- 16:36Speaker 6: he was a good fit for Cleveland.
- 16:38Speaker 4: How did the next match up, in the event that
- 16:40Speaker 4: the Pitons get there, how did the next match up
- 16:42Speaker 4: with that team?
- 16:43Speaker 6: Yeah, I think the big thing will be stopping Kate
- 16:45Speaker 6: Cunning And I just don't think Detroit shoots well enough.
- 16:48Speaker 6: And I think they would pack in the you know,
- 16:50Speaker 6: pack in the paint and just dare them to beat
- 16:53Speaker 6: them from the outside. I think Tobias Harris would have
- 16:55Speaker 6: to have a big series now he's played well at
- 16:57Speaker 6: you know, a rough fourth quarter the other night. The
- 17:00Speaker 6: other thing would be you would need Jalen Dorran. So
- 17:03Speaker 6: right now, Doran is a you know, a seven foot
- 17:05Speaker 6: question mark. And Tobias Harris historically and I do like
- 17:08Speaker 6: the way he's played in the playoffs has been up
- 17:10Speaker 6: and down. They would have to hit outside shots. Think
- 17:13Speaker 6: about it, Guys, their team last year and I know
- 17:16Speaker 6: they didn't have Tobias Harris, but they had Tim Hardaway Junior,
- 17:19Speaker 6: who got six Man of the Year votes. This year
- 17:21Speaker 6: for Denver, they had Malik Beasley who didn't play because
- 17:23Speaker 6: he's involved in the gambling scandal, and they had Dennis Shreuter.
- 17:27Speaker 6: I actually liked their team better last year and this
- 17:29Speaker 6: year they won sixty games, So I think perimeter shooting
- 17:32Speaker 6: was an issue.
- 17:33Speaker 5: Not having Malik Beasley was massive for them. That would
- 17:36Speaker 5: help a lot if they had him.
- 17:38Speaker 4: Mikey the way he laid out both those batches ups. Now,
- 17:41Speaker 4: it just dawned on me, like the Knicks are going
- 17:43Speaker 4: to the finals. Can you imagine if the Knicks didn't
- 17:46Speaker 4: make it to the NBA.
- 17:47Speaker 6: Well, so I told I think we have to start
- 17:50Speaker 6: thinking about that.
- 17:51Speaker 5: So last year during the playoffs, you know, you know
- 17:54Speaker 5: Brian Scalabering, my radio partner, he thinks that Boston's just
- 17:57Speaker 5: gonna waltz to the playoffs.
- 17:59Speaker 6: And I told him, said, I said, I think the
- 18:01Speaker 6: Knicks gonna beat them. And why do you say that,
- 18:02Speaker 6: I said, they shoot too many threes. So what they
- 18:05Speaker 6: do the first two games against the Knicks, they win
- 18:06Speaker 6: twenty five of one hundred. They missed seventy five threes
- 18:11Speaker 6: in the first two games. And then and I said,
- 18:13Speaker 6: the Knicks. The Knicks just like, look like the Knicks
- 18:15Speaker 6: would have gone had it not been for that game
- 18:17Speaker 6: one where Halliburn hit the crazy shot.
- 18:18Speaker 5: The Knicks never should have lost that game.
- 18:20Speaker 6: But I said, like right, like it might have been
- 18:23Speaker 6: game one or two of the plays even though the
- 18:24Speaker 6: Knicks lost. And I saw the other teams in the East,
- 18:27Speaker 6: I said, Brian, the Knicks are the best team these
- 18:28Speaker 6: because why do you say that? I said, they just are.
- 18:31Speaker 6: They're the most complete team. They have like a lot
- 18:33Speaker 6: of talented players. I mean, Karl Anthony Towns gets killed
- 18:36Speaker 6: by everyone. Do you know how good Karl Anthony Towns is. Right,
- 18:39Speaker 6: He's been to three straight conference finals, folks. He went
- 18:42Speaker 6: two years ago with Minnesota. He's gone back to back
- 18:44Speaker 6: years with the Knicks.
- 18:45Speaker 5: You know what he is.
- 18:45Speaker 6: He's the guy that because he doesn't fight back and
- 18:48Speaker 6: no one is afraid of any repercussions. Everyone destroys Carl
- 18:52Speaker 6: so Carl's got to get like a little nastier, probably
- 18:54Speaker 6: with the media, probably with the fans.
- 18:56Speaker 5: But Carl delivers. Karl Anthony town is a really good player.
- 18:59Speaker 4: Yes, I hope he turns into defiant Karl Anthony Towns.
- 19:02Speaker 4: If they win an NBA title, it just gives everyone
- 19:04Speaker 4: the fucking middle finger.
- 19:05Speaker 3: He might all deserve it, Yes he might.
- 19:07Speaker 2: Yes, being in Devilware's product too probably doesn't help either.
- 19:12Speaker 5: Seeing that movie.
- 19:14Speaker 2: Yeah, he has a brief cameo.
- 19:16Speaker 6: That's that's the one thing that could stop the next
- 19:19Speaker 6: always and last year, remember they won, Meryl Streep could
- 19:26Speaker 6: stop the next is when they had, like all of
- 19:29Speaker 6: a sudden, the city put up street signs named after
- 19:32Speaker 6: the players, like Ari L. Har Porty Way and Tyler
- 19:35Speaker 6: Kolech Boulevard. It's like, can we like, it's not Oklahoma City,
- 19:39Speaker 6: it's not like a po dunk town. Why don't we
- 19:41Speaker 6: slow down? It's wait till they get to the finals,
- 19:44Speaker 6: maybe win a championship. There was a little too much
- 19:46Speaker 6: you know, self aggrandizing last year with the Knicks. After
- 19:50Speaker 6: they got out of the second round. It was a
- 19:52Speaker 6: little too much. And then the next thing, you know,
- 19:54Speaker 6: their season ended. Everyone was like wondering what the heck happened?
- 19:57Speaker 6: So I think maybe they're doing a little bit better
- 20:00Speaker 6: of it. But how about after these games, especially the
- 20:02Speaker 6: home games, with the celebrities mingling with the players, which
- 20:05Speaker 6: almost be a social media thing. You got what's the
- 20:08Speaker 6: guy's name from the show The Police Show, Chris Maloney shall.
- 20:14Speaker 5: What's you know?
- 20:15Speaker 6: Like?
- 20:15Speaker 3: You got you?
- 20:16Speaker 5: Yeah? You got all these like older actors, and I
- 20:18Speaker 5: think they they're, you know, hanging out with Jalen bruns
- 20:21Speaker 5: I think they all want to like be on Instagram
- 20:23Speaker 5: and things like that. It's kind of weird, yes, but if.
- 20:26Speaker 2: The Knicks win the finals, Eleventh Avenue can become Brunton Avenue, right.
- 20:30Speaker 5: It probably will be. Yeah, it probably it puts it
- 20:32Speaker 5: puts him in a different stratus here. I remember, tell
- 20:35Speaker 5: you how old I am.
- 20:36Speaker 6: I remember when the Knicks were in the finals in
- 20:38Speaker 6: ninety nine and Rick Brunson was on the team and
- 20:40Speaker 6: who would be running around the locker room little Jalen Brunson.
- 20:43Speaker 5: Wow, that was only twenty How is it possible it's
- 20:46Speaker 5: twenty seven years ago. It's hard to believe.
- 20:49Speaker 3: Just gave me goosebumps, Frank.
- 20:50Speaker 9: We play, we play a game on this show called
- 20:53Speaker 9: one Table, and how does table in Manhattan? To get
- 20:56Speaker 9: one table left, Jalen Brunson and Derek Jeter walk in
- 21:00Speaker 9: at the same time.
- 21:00Speaker 5: Who gets the table? Ye oh uh, you know what
- 21:05Speaker 5: I think?
- 21:06Speaker 4: So let's do it right after the next winning NBA championship.
- 21:09Speaker 5: Well, right now, I think I think it'd be Jeter.
- 21:12Speaker 5: I think if the Knicks won a championship, then to
- 21:15Speaker 5: be Brunting because it's more recent.
- 21:16Speaker 6: Okay, so let's on a different plane. Derek Jeter won
- 21:19Speaker 6: all those World Series.
- 21:21Speaker 4: Right, you're saying right now, you're saying, if it happened today,
- 21:24Speaker 4: Jeters getting that table?
- 21:25Speaker 5: I think so yeah.
- 21:26Speaker 4: Okay, So now let's make it like the Knicks win
- 21:28Speaker 4: a title and a year later, the Brunson's and the
- 21:32Speaker 4: Jeters walk into a restaurant.
- 21:35Speaker 3: Who's getting that table?
- 21:36Speaker 6: You know what, it's nothing against jam. I still think
- 21:38Speaker 6: it's Derek Jeter. Derek Jeeter's royalty in New York, right.
- 21:42Speaker 9: Right, Okay, let's let's let's lower the bar a little
- 21:45Speaker 9: bit today this very day. Jalen Bronson, Aaron Judge walking.
- 21:53Speaker 6: That's a really good one. Yeah, I might take Brunson
- 21:56Speaker 6: on that one people. For some reason, people are upset
- 21:59Speaker 6: with Aaron J because, you know, the Yankees haven't won
- 22:02Speaker 6: a World Series, I mean two years ago. They you know,
- 22:04Speaker 6: they lost to a better team in the past year.
- 22:07Speaker 6: Who they lose Toronto. So he's been getting beaten up
- 22:09Speaker 6: by everybody, which I think is a little unfair.
- 22:11Speaker 5: But I think it would be Brunson, I.
- 22:14Speaker 3: Mean a little unfair. The guy's awesome.
- 22:16Speaker 5: What I mean, I don't I don't know. Like baseball
- 22:20Speaker 5: is not bag I get it.
- 22:21Speaker 6: It's it's a regular season sport, right, you know, you
- 22:23Speaker 6: could have a bit of a slump right in the
- 22:25Speaker 6: middle of a playoff and it costs you.
- 22:27Speaker 5: It does happen.
- 22:28Speaker 4: Yes, I love one table tell you had a soccer
- 22:31Speaker 4: question for him.
- 22:33Speaker 2: I do have a soccer question. Actually, uh, Frank, I
- 22:37Speaker 2: was looking back at some of your soccer takes and
- 22:39Speaker 2: one that I love the way you made this comparison.
- 22:43Speaker 2: Arsenal is the US men's national team of the Premier League,
- 22:48Speaker 2: said that in twenty seventeen, really we're two games away. Now,
- 22:53Speaker 2: does Arsenal get the job done against City?
- 22:58Speaker 6: So yeah, Arsenal's because my son's face team. So I
- 23:00Speaker 6: ended up watching them as STU pay attention. They played
- 23:04Speaker 6: Burnley I think on Monday, right as a Sunday and
- 23:07Speaker 6: Monday they'll beat them, and then they play Crystal Palace,
- 23:10Speaker 6: which is owned by you know, one of the owners
- 23:13Speaker 6: is Josh Harris who owns the Sixers. So Arsenal bought
- 23:17Speaker 6: a player from Crystal Palace during the season. If they
- 23:22Speaker 6: win the title, which they can do by beating Crystal Palace,
- 23:25Speaker 6: Crystal Palace gets ten million dollars.
- 23:28Speaker 5: So Arsenal is winning their last two games. It's it's official.
- 23:32Speaker 6: They'll they'll win and then they'll go to Budapest the
- 23:35Speaker 6: following week to play PSG in the Champions League final.
- 23:38Speaker 5: And I'm not so sure about that too good.
- 23:41Speaker 2: I think Stuve froze hold on a second, of course,
- 23:45Speaker 2: it's weird. See we were saying that your computer rejected
- 23:48Speaker 2: soccer talk.
- 23:49Speaker 3: It does. It hates soccer as well. It hates soccer
- 23:51Speaker 3: as much as I did.
- 23:53Speaker 6: How can you First of all, you're not going to
- 23:54Speaker 6: get caught up in the World Cup. You're not going
- 23:56Speaker 6: to get caught up in Curasao. Whoever was may gonna
- 23:58Speaker 6: be eight people in the in the bill thing watching
- 24:00Speaker 6: that game.
- 24:01Speaker 5: The prices are ridiculous.
- 24:04Speaker 4: Speaking of the prices, Mikey has a pair of ticket gets.
- 24:07Speaker 9: I've got four tickets to the World.
- 24:09Speaker 5: Coup at met Life. Which game?
- 24:12Speaker 9: Uh, Norway Senegal?
- 24:14Speaker 5: Oh that's all. That's great. You need a place to
- 24:17Speaker 5: give me a call. You want them, you want the tickets.
- 24:19Speaker 4: Your place to stay. Wait, Frank, you'll go see any
- 24:25Speaker 4: two countries play soccer, because.
- 24:27Speaker 9: No, Norway's got Norway's got like a superstar, and.
- 24:31Speaker 5: I'd see the place in Senegal. Those are all the
- 24:34Speaker 5: All the players on Senegal are the guys that couldn't
- 24:36Speaker 5: make the front the French national team.
- 24:38Speaker 6: Okay, France has done the best job in terms of
- 24:40Speaker 6: immigration and like.
- 24:41Speaker 5: Any you should see, the players that got cut from
- 24:45Speaker 5: France would be the U S Okay.
- 24:47Speaker 3: So Senegal is like a minor league system for France.
- 24:50Speaker 3: Is what you're saying, is they got I'll get into it, Frank,
- 24:55Speaker 3: I'll get into it. In all honesty.
- 24:56Speaker 4: I'll get into it if the men's team gives me
- 24:58Speaker 4: a reason to get into it.
- 25:00Speaker 3: They've never done that, Nick, well.
- 25:02Speaker 5: And you know they play. They have interesting times.
- 25:04Speaker 6: There's going to be a Friday game is at three
- 25:08Speaker 6: o'clock in the East, So that'll be like a good
- 25:11Speaker 6: like happy Hour game. And I think the other two
- 25:12Speaker 6: games might be nine o'clock games on the West East coast,
- 25:15Speaker 6: but they're being played six o'clock on the West coast.
- 25:18Speaker 5: Those games will be fun. People will get into it.
- 25:20Speaker 5: You're right, hopefully, Stu.
- 25:23Speaker 2: I have I have a one table for Frank. Actually, Frank,
- 25:26Speaker 2: this table is in College Park, Maryland. Scott Van Pelt
- 25:30Speaker 2: walks in. Juan Dixon walks in.
- 25:33Speaker 5: Who gets the table? Wow?
- 25:35Speaker 3: Wow?
- 25:35Speaker 5: Wow wow? Oh all right, I thought, even who would
- 25:38Speaker 5: I want to sit with? Scott?
- 25:40Speaker 3: I like that game better, actually.
- 25:42Speaker 5: Scott, Scott van Pelt, Wow over one Dixon.
- 25:46Speaker 6: Yeah, even though we won, people will probably a lot
- 25:48Speaker 6: of people may forget, you know, Derek Derek Jeter gets
- 25:53Speaker 6: the table, but not one Dixon.
- 25:55Speaker 3: But why want Dixon?
- 25:56Speaker 5: I mean because he won a national championship.
- 25:59Speaker 3: I know, but there's several guys you could have went
- 26:00Speaker 3: to it Maryland, right, Boomer Siasen.
- 26:03Speaker 5: Steve Steve Blake, Jan Dixon walks in.
- 26:06Speaker 2: Boomer size walks in, who.
- 26:07Speaker 5: Gets the table?
- 26:08Speaker 3: One Dixon?
- 26:09Speaker 6: Jan Dixon. I think people will probably forget you. Young
- 26:13Speaker 6: people don't remember anything, so no one's gonna remember Boom.
- 26:17Speaker 4: I want to do more one table with him, I did.
- 26:20Speaker 4: Gino Smith walks in and Jackson Dart walks in. That's
- 26:23Speaker 4: an easy one, right.
- 26:25Speaker 5: It's Jackson Dart with a significant other.
- 26:27Speaker 3: Yeah, no, just Jackson alone, Gino alone.
- 26:31Speaker 6: So there's a place nearby where I live in Clifton.
- 26:34Speaker 6: I'm in Montclair in Clifton. There's a place called Matthews.
- 26:37Speaker 6: One night I walk into. The owner runs up. He's
- 26:39Speaker 6: all excited because you're not gonna believe it was coming in.
- 26:41Speaker 6: It was Eli Manning Daniel Jones.
- 26:45Speaker 3: Wow.
- 26:45Speaker 5: And I'm gonna forget who the third quarterback was.
- 26:47Speaker 6: He was the guy that had gotten arrested like a
- 26:49Speaker 6: few months earlier because he went around traffic cones near
- 26:52Speaker 6: the Lincoln Tune.
- 26:53Speaker 5: I'm gonna forget his name.
- 26:54Speaker 6: But Eli brought all the quarterbacks out because you know,
- 26:57Speaker 6: I think it was going to be kind of the
- 26:59Speaker 6: changing of the guard and Eli was going to become
- 27:02Speaker 6: a big television star like he is.
- 27:04Speaker 5: Right, that was the story. That was the thrilling story.
- 27:11Speaker 5: I said, I got nothing else.
- 27:14Speaker 3: You're heading gas to the next match. Well, we'll get
- 27:17Speaker 3: you out of here in a second.
- 27:19Speaker 4: If it is indeed Knicks in Oklahoma City. I'm getting
- 27:23Speaker 4: ahead of myself, Micky hates, but I do this because
- 27:25Speaker 4: I'm setting myself up for a massive fall. Care I
- 27:28Speaker 4: just convinced me that neither the Pistons or the Cavaliers
- 27:31Speaker 4: could beat the Knicks. So now I move on to
- 27:33Speaker 4: the NBA Finals do the next match? Is it fair
- 27:36Speaker 4: of me to say that I think the Knicks or
- 27:39Speaker 4: the team that match up with Oklahoma City the best
- 27:42Speaker 4: in the NBA?
- 27:43Speaker 6: But now you might be well, I mean, the Spurs
- 27:46Speaker 6: have beaten them a bunch of times this year, but
- 27:47Speaker 6: the Knicks have beaten the Spurs, and the Knicks match
- 27:50Speaker 6: up really well with San Antonio, especially when Mitchell Robinson
- 27:53Speaker 6: is playing.
- 27:53Speaker 5: The Knicks would definitely have a chance because we know
- 27:55Speaker 5: how this works.
- 27:56Speaker 6: I mean, first of all, who thought that Indiana was
- 27:59Speaker 6: going to take Oklahoma City to a Game seven? And
- 28:01Speaker 6: they lost Haliburt in the first few minutes, and they
- 28:03Speaker 6: even had.
- 28:03Speaker 5: A lead at halftime. They were twenty four minutes away
- 28:06Speaker 5: from winning the championship.
- 28:07Speaker 6: So I think I think the Knicks definitely could beat
- 28:11Speaker 6: Oklahoma City. I do think Oklahoma City right now is
- 28:14Speaker 6: the best team They've won eight in a row the Nets.
- 28:16Speaker 6: The Knicks have won seven in a row. Injuries are
- 28:19Speaker 6: always a factor. Jayalen Williams, you don't know about his
- 28:22Speaker 6: availability the one thing that helps. Okay, see though, with
- 28:25Speaker 6: Hartenstein and Cheed Holmgren, those are tough covers and Oklahoma
- 28:29Speaker 6: City gets away.
- 28:30Speaker 5: You know, they foul all the time on the perimeter.
- 28:32Speaker 5: When J. J.
- 28:32Speaker 6: Reddick said that he was he's right, and every team
- 28:35Speaker 6: complains about that, and I think the more they complain
- 28:38Speaker 6: about it, the more it's going to drive Sam Presty
- 28:40Speaker 6: crazy because he's going.
- 28:41Speaker 5: To be thinking. The referees in the league are going
- 28:43Speaker 5: to keep hearing this, and it's at some point it
- 28:45Speaker 5: could come back to haunt us.
- 28:47Speaker 4: All Right, So the Knicks pull this off and then
- 28:49Speaker 4: one year from now, Okay, one year from now, you
- 28:52Speaker 4: got to create some distance between them winning the finals
- 28:55Speaker 4: and see it's Mike Brown. There's one table, Mike Brown
- 29:00Speaker 4: and Joe Torre. Who's getting the table?
- 29:04Speaker 5: You know what?
- 29:05Speaker 6: It might be Mike Brown because again, wow, well didn't
- 29:09Speaker 6: the Yankees win with Joe Girardi as a manager.
- 29:11Speaker 5: They won once?
- 29:12Speaker 3: The legend there, I get it.
- 29:16Speaker 5: But they've won since then Nick's having one since seventy three.
- 29:19Speaker 3: All right, Mike Brown, Bill Parcells.
- 29:23Speaker 5: I know, Bill, that was d last night.
- 29:29Speaker 6: That's a legendary because think about the stuff that Parcells said,
- 29:33Speaker 6: like back in the day, that you'd be canceled for.
- 29:35Speaker 5: Remember you always used to have the thing with the player.
- 29:36Speaker 6: If they were always telling about something, he would say,
- 29:38Speaker 6: don't tell me about the pain, show me the baby.
- 29:40Speaker 3: Come on, he'd be done.
- 29:42Speaker 6: So your your your show would be over tomorrow if
- 29:45Speaker 6: you said that. So we didn't say it.
- 29:46Speaker 5: We just had Bill Parcells saying, Frank.
- 29:49Speaker 2: One table, yep, the Francesses walk in, the Russo's walk in?
- 29:54Speaker 5: Who gets the table?
- 29:56Speaker 6: I like both, but it would be you know what,
- 30:02Speaker 6: Mike is so much of a big shot, it might
- 30:04Speaker 6: be Mike.
- 30:05Speaker 4: Well, we asked Dog that question and he said it
- 30:07Speaker 4: would be francessa right right, So I.
- 30:10Speaker 5: Told you about that.
- 30:11Speaker 6: I went to the Marty Supreme premiere in uh it
- 30:15Speaker 6: was in December, and afterwards, so Chris is sitting right
- 30:18Speaker 6: behind me. The movie ends Chris a linezo, I'm with
- 30:22Speaker 6: my wife, Chris is with his son. He leans over
- 30:24Speaker 6: because what do you think? It was a weird movie?
- 30:25Speaker 6: He didn't really have like anybody that you could root for.
- 30:28Speaker 5: Next day, Chris goes on radios killing the movie and
- 30:31Speaker 5: then like he throws me in the bay. Frank, I
- 30:33Speaker 5: saw it. Was it in front of me, He said
- 30:34Speaker 5: the same thing. Right. So at the after party, we
- 30:38Speaker 5: go to the after party.
- 30:39Speaker 6: And a lot of the you know, the cast was
- 30:42Speaker 6: all there, but like Chalomet and everybody else was on
- 30:44Speaker 6: a different floor.
- 30:45Speaker 5: But I'm there with Chris.
- 30:46Speaker 6: My wife and Chris's son are like talking, like you know,
- 30:50Speaker 6: they're all engaged in like a deep conversation. He's a
- 30:53Speaker 6: college student, so she's talking about that with him. Chris
- 30:55Speaker 6: is just wandering around being Chris and having some of
- 30:58Speaker 6: the you know, character actors in the movie come up
- 31:02Speaker 6: to tell much I love him on ESPN and all
- 31:03Speaker 6: this stuff. Chris Foley walks back to me. He's holding
- 31:06Speaker 6: a drink in his hand. In the distance, he sees
- 31:08Speaker 6: my wife and his son. He goes, he know, Frank,
- 31:10Speaker 6: that's a good job by your wife.
- 31:12Speaker 3: Dad.
- 31:12Speaker 5: Talking to my son, I said, so what are you saying?
- 31:18Speaker 6: It's a good job by life, by being an actual
- 31:20Speaker 6: human being, and just it's a good job by your
- 31:23Speaker 6: wife dad.
- 31:23Speaker 5: Frank talking to my son. Yes, it is a good job.
- 31:26Speaker 3: She filled in for Dog as a parent.
- 31:30Speaker 6: We had a great Chris Is And you know this
- 31:33Speaker 6: Chris Is on the air is the same way in person. Oh,
- 31:37Speaker 6: he's out of his mind. And what he did he
- 31:40Speaker 6: kind of reinvented. He's had like a new life going
- 31:43Speaker 6: on with Steven A and it's definitely helped out Steve
- 31:47Speaker 6: and A. It's funny when he first started doing like
- 31:49Speaker 6: the screaming and stuff, all like the ex players were
- 31:51Speaker 6: getting all upset, and you know, they didn't realize that
- 31:54Speaker 6: that was Chris's act. Now that they realize that Chris
- 31:56Speaker 6: is good for them, now they all act as cheerleaders
- 31:59Speaker 6: behind him.
- 31:59Speaker 5: The same guy are like, don't ever yell at me
- 32:01Speaker 5: again for yelling at me, mad dog.
- 32:03Speaker 6: Everyone you know, now they all like they play a
- 32:06Speaker 6: bit characters to him being.
- 32:07Speaker 5: The leading guy.
- 32:09Speaker 4: Yes, I got mad at stephen A for sharing our
- 32:11Speaker 4: little gem in New York City with the rest of
- 32:13Speaker 4: the country.
- 32:14Speaker 5: I kind of agree.
- 32:15Speaker 4: I know, yeah, I prefer when he was just hours
- 32:20Speaker 4: But that's kind of infuriate In fact, I know it does.
- 32:22Speaker 4: The fact that he you know, he's at the after
- 32:25Speaker 4: party with you guys and they're coming up to him.
- 32:28Speaker 4: He does a show five days a week, and he
- 32:29Speaker 4: did the most legendary sports radio show in the history
- 32:33Speaker 4: of the industry. And the only thing people recognize him
- 32:36Speaker 4: for it at that party was his appearances on First Dake,
- 32:40Speaker 4: And it drives him crazy.
- 32:42Speaker 6: And you know what Chris is like, he I know,
- 32:44Speaker 6: you guys are all going to roll your eyes, but
- 32:46Speaker 6: he is kind of like an old time sports columnist,
- 32:49Speaker 6: like the way that he thinks, and he knows a
- 32:50Speaker 6: lot about history, but he's just so naturally funny. I
- 32:53Speaker 6: still remember when Princess Diana was died in the car
- 32:57Speaker 6: accident and the story came out that everyone one that
- 33:00Speaker 6: was leaving the flowers outside of Kensington Palace, the royal family,
- 33:03Speaker 6: there were so many were just taking them and like
- 33:05Speaker 6: burning them and throwing them in the.
- 33:08Speaker 5: In the garbage. And when Francess was telling the story,
- 33:10Speaker 5: you know.
- 33:11Speaker 6: Chris is like, that's a bad job by the monarchy. Damn, Mike,
- 33:13Speaker 6: that's a bad job. What has the monarchy ever done
- 33:16Speaker 6: a good job?
- 33:18Speaker 3: Like the nuts coach.
- 33:22Speaker 2: I'm not I'm not sure if you saw stew but
- 33:25Speaker 2: on First Take this past week, they had Carlton Alfonso Robero, Yeah,
- 33:29Speaker 2: and he was giving a take and mad Dog was like,
- 33:32Speaker 2: I like this guy, who is this guy?
- 33:33Speaker 5: Where did we get this guy from?
- 33:35Speaker 2: And then Alfonso Robero says Alfonso Robero, and mad Dog
- 33:39Speaker 2: says something along the lines of like the only Alfonso
- 33:42Speaker 2: I know is Alfonso, you know.
- 33:46Speaker 6: And that's what made you know, that's what made them
- 33:48Speaker 6: really good was when the Yankees started to you know,
- 33:51Speaker 6: like in ninety six, you had you know, Mike was
- 33:54Speaker 6: a Yankee guy, and Chris hated the Yankees, so Chris
- 33:58Speaker 6: is rooting for them to lose, you know. That's when
- 34:00Speaker 6: they started playing the sterling calls, you know, the next
- 34:04Speaker 6: day Yankees when the Yankee So that became a big thing.
- 34:07Speaker 6: But that always that's what I've always liked about Chris,
- 34:10Speaker 6: where he's not a Yankee guy, He's a San Francisco
- 34:13Speaker 6: Giants guy. And he also, like you know, he doesn't
- 34:16Speaker 6: really care if the nixt winner lose, so he's always
- 34:18Speaker 6: willing to be critical, which made it entertaining. I know
- 34:21Speaker 6: a lot of sports radio shows you get a lot
- 34:23Speaker 6: of the guys that are fans of the team there.
- 34:25Speaker 6: But I think it's always funnier when the guy doesn't
- 34:28Speaker 6: really care if the team wins or loses, and sometimes,
- 34:31Speaker 6: like in the case of Chris, is openly rooting for
- 34:33Speaker 6: them to lose, which is always pretty funny.
- 34:35Speaker 3: Yes, he was rooting for content. He was so ahead
- 34:37Speaker 3: of his time.
- 34:38Speaker 4: He was always rooting for content and rooting for whatever
- 34:41Speaker 4: was best for the show and whatever pissed Mike alf
- 34:43Speaker 4: the most.
- 34:43Speaker 6: You know, I know, yes, I know, it's so good. Yes,
- 34:48Speaker 6: we're really really quick. One time he did an interview
- 34:52Speaker 6: with Jim Currier. Yeah, and because you know, Chris loves tennis.
- 34:56Speaker 4: He's the greatest. Yes, when he's talking to tennis, that's
- 34:58Speaker 4: that's him. It is most passionate.
- 34:59Speaker 5: Yes, he has Jim curR and Jim Currier is really good.
- 35:02Speaker 6: Yeah, he's he's like, you know Jim in the you know,
- 35:06Speaker 6: ninety two quarterfinals rolling Garros and he's giving him like
- 35:09Speaker 6: the second set and he's talking about a particular point
- 35:13Speaker 6: in this cis and you could tell Jim currys like
- 35:16Speaker 6: do you even remember that?
- 35:18Speaker 3: Right?
- 35:18Speaker 6: Like his interviews with when Chris knows the subject matter
- 35:21Speaker 6: and he's really into it, especially with things like tennis
- 35:24Speaker 6: or when he reviews a book and he has like
- 35:26Speaker 6: the author of the book.
- 35:27Speaker 5: It's so good, it's so entertaining.
- 35:29Speaker 3: The callback is second to none. It's fantastic.
- 35:32Speaker 4: Like the fact that he can remember specific points in
- 35:34Speaker 4: the third set of a Courier match back in ninety two.
- 35:38Speaker 5: What the fuck, it's insane, it really is. And I
- 35:41Speaker 5: told him I listened. I was on a long drive
- 35:43Speaker 5: and it was like an hour long interview. It was fascinating.
- 35:46Speaker 5: It was so good. And that's the thing. Courier was good.
- 35:48Speaker 5: I was more blown away by Chris just how good
- 35:51Speaker 5: he was.
- 35:51Speaker 4: Yes, no, I'm blown away by Chris when I'm just
- 35:53Speaker 4: like I'm listening, he's talking to himself.
- 35:55Speaker 3: I'm not certain if anyone really cares. I don't care.
- 35:58Speaker 4: But it's hiten that Isaac when he talks through his
- 36:02Speaker 4: own personal schedule for the next forty eight hours and
- 36:05Speaker 4: what he has to do. I got this, I got golf,
- 36:07Speaker 4: I got this, I got the big kids coming in.
- 36:09Speaker 3: I got a party at seven, I got an after
- 36:11Speaker 3: party I don't want to go to.
- 36:12Speaker 4: And I don't know if you heard the little piece
- 36:14Speaker 4: where he's talking about where he's breaking down that book
- 36:18Speaker 4: where Lincoln invites the grants.
- 36:20Speaker 5: I believe that.
- 36:21Speaker 4: Yes, the little details of like this is Chris Christie book.
- 36:26Speaker 3: He gave me the recommendation.
- 36:27Speaker 4: Yeah, the taff didn't like the Lincolns like he was
- 36:30Speaker 4: actually there and he did down gossip.
- 36:32Speaker 3: It's unbelievable. He's the best. He's the greatest ever do it.
- 36:35Speaker 5: He really is, He really is. You're not You're not
- 36:37Speaker 5: so bad either? Still, how about that?
- 36:39Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 36:39Speaker 5: I appreciate you call me great. I said, you're not
- 36:41Speaker 5: so bad.
- 36:43Speaker 4: All right, listen, I know you have a long drive
- 36:45Speaker 4: home from those serious extra studios you're at right now.
- 36:49Speaker 5: Thanks boys, I'll see you.
- 36:50Speaker 3: Guys, we appreciate the time. As always, we'll talk to
- 36:53Speaker 3: you down the red break.
