Transcript
- 0:01My heating and cooling expert,
- 0:03Nathan Shafer is joining me here on the program today to talk about the importance of conducting regular maintenance.
- 0:14And I've always suggested and I've always heard twice a year bi annually.
- 0:18So let's hear it from the expert,
- 0:20Nathan,
- 0:20how are you doing,
- 0:20buddy?
- 0:21Hey,
- 0:22good,
- 0:22how are you?
- 0:23I'm doing fantastic.
- 0:24Ok.
- 0:25At least twice a year.
- 0:26Right.
- 0:26Spring and fall.
- 0:28Yeah.
- 0:28And it's not even so much has to be the certain time of the year,
- 0:31spring and fall as it is just twice a year.
- 0:34So kind of,
- 0:35I always like to picture to we all drive cars,
- 0:37right.
- 0:37We've all got vehicles and it's not a certain time of the year per se,
- 0:42um,
- 0:42that we're changing the oil and servicing our maintenance in the vehicle so much as it is the mileage,
- 0:47right?
- 0:47Or the run time of that vehicle,
- 0:49we'll picture your,
- 0:50your heating and your cooling system.
- 0:51It runs year round.
- 0:53And so it's really just based off,
- 0:55hey,
- 0:55let's get that done twice a year.
- 0:56Uh,
- 0:56I do recommend once in heating mode and once in cooling mode whenever that may be throughout the season.
- 1:01A lot of times it does fall in that spring and fall time.
- 1:04Uh,
- 1:04it works great with scheduling to people's schedules.
- 1:07You know,
- 1:07they're not traveling different things.
- 1:09Uh,
- 1:09but yeah,
- 1:09hitting that twice a year makes a,
- 1:11makes a huge difference on the overall performance of the system.
- 1:14Longevity of the system and uh comfort that that system delivers uh,
- 1:18to you,
- 1:19to,
- 1:19to you and your family.
- 1:20So,
- 1:21I agree,
- 1:22people go to the dentist twice a year.
- 1:24Right.
- 1:24And a six month checkup.
- 1:26And it doesn't matter what time of year I will say this though.
- 1:29It,
- 1:30I prefer having my air conditioning system really getting ready in the springtime for the summer.
- 1:39I really don't want to wait till September to have it checked right now.
- 1:42September,
- 1:44I wanna have my heating checked.
- 1:47So,
- 1:47for me personally,
- 1:49you know,
- 1:50the,
- 1:51when,
- 1:52you know,
- 1:52when the snow melts.
- 1:53Right.
- 1:53So,
- 1:53you know,
- 1:54April would be early.
- 1:56April would be a great time to have my air conditioning checked out.
- 2:00And certainly before we get that first cold snap,
- 2:03I would say by early October,
- 2:06I wanna get my heating checked out.
- 2:07Does that sound?
- 2:07Right?
- 2:09Sure.
- 2:09Yeah,
- 2:09absolutely.
- 2:10Get prepped and ready.
- 2:11Right.
- 2:11Don't wait until,
- 2:13you know,
- 2:14it does get extreme hot or extreme cold and,
- 2:16and systems start breaking down because they're being taxed and working hard,
- 2:20you know.
- 2:20Uh,
- 2:20and then now the everybody's schedules are full.
- 2:23Right.
- 2:23And trying to get to all those,
- 2:24no heat and no cools.
- 2:25When most of the time it's something that could have been prevented.
- 2:29You know,
- 2:29we,
- 2:29we have club memberships,
- 2:30our most valued customers that automatically just have us come out twice and they don't have to worry about remembering to call us or anything else.
- 2:36It's just automatically on the schedule and we show up,
- 2:39you know,
- 2:39a licensed technician ready to go with a big smile and takes care of that for them.
- 2:44And Jim,
- 2:44you know,
- 2:45that they're the customers that we see the least throughout the year as far as the breakdowns,
- 2:48we see them twice a year.
- 2:50Yes.
- 2:50But it's just to do their maintenance and take care of their systems and keep them up to date and they get so many benefits with being a part of that program.
- 2:57Uh,
- 2:57it's,
- 2:58it's,
- 2:58it's unbelievable.
- 3:00It's really like going to see your doctor on a regular basis for a physical.
- 3:05Um,
- 3:06I,
- 3:06I,
- 3:06if you do that,
- 3:08the doctor gets to know you and your body,
- 3:10the same thing with the team at Schafer,
- 3:13they get to know your systems well.
- 3:16And so you're treated a little different too because when you're part of the program and you're part of the family and you call up and there is an issue.
- 3:24They're like,
- 3:25well,
- 3:25we'll be right out.
- 3:26I mean,
- 3:26we were just there three months ago.
- 3:28It,
- 3:28it was working fine.
- 3:29We're gonna come out and get this thing going for you,
- 3:31ma'am.
- 3:31Right.
- 3:31And,
- 3:32and it's different than if you're not in the club.
- 3:35Literally,
- 3:35you're not in the club,
- 3:36you're in the program.
- 3:37They're like,
- 3:37ok,
- 3:38well,
- 3:38we'll get out there as soon as possible.
- 3:39But they,
- 3:40you know,
- 3:40you guys,
- 3:40your technicians don't know what they're going into.
- 3:43They,
- 3:43they don't know,
- 3:44they don't,
- 3:44they have no record.
- 3:46They haven't been keeping records and,
- 3:48um,
- 3:49because they haven't been out doing regular maintenance,
- 3:51so the regular maintenance is important.
- 3:54Getting onto the club membership is important.
- 3:58Um,
- 3:59it,
- 4:00it also generally will give you priorities.
- 4:02Um,
- 4:03you know,
- 4:04as a customer,
- 4:05as a client and,
- 4:06and I think it's important.
- 4:07I mean,
- 4:07I've,
- 4:07I've always said this,
- 4:09you don't want your heating and your air conditioning system on Sunday morning not to work.
- 4:15And in the winter it can be really,
- 4:18really uncomfortable.
- 4:19It also could be dangerous.
- 4:20You could have burst pipes because of it and in the summertime may not kill you,
- 4:25but you'd be cranky,
- 4:28that's for sure.
- 4:29That's for sure.
- 4:30You know,
- 4:30like you said,
- 4:31we,
- 4:31we,
- 4:32we maintenance and we do these routine things and everything else in our lives and all of our other,
- 4:37our vehicles or your boat or your camper,
- 4:40you know,
- 4:40all these different things.
- 4:42Our,
- 4:42ourselves,
- 4:42we go to the doctor,
- 4:43you know,
- 4:44the,
- 4:44your heating and cooling system is no different and so oftentimes it's forgotten about.
- 4:48It's kind of out of sight,
- 4:49out of mind.
- 4:50Right.
- 4:50We're accustomed to,
- 4:51we're just used to walking in the house and it's comfortable.
- 4:54But man,
- 4:54the moment that it happens that Sunday morning and the,
- 4:57you know,
- 4:57the heat's not working or this 90 degree degree summer day and the ac quits working and,
- 5:02and we're cranky.
- 5:03Right,
- 5:03buddy.
- 5:04Then,
- 5:04then we remember it.
- 5:05And so just get this one of the many advantages of being a part of that club,
- 5:08like you mentioned is that,
- 5:09hey,
- 5:10it's just scheduled,
- 5:10it's done.
- 5:11I don't have to worry about it.
- 5:12I don't have to think about it.
- 5:13Uh The heating cooling system typically isn't something that's exciting and fun to most people uh for us here at and cooling it is,
- 5:20that's what we,
- 5:20we,
- 5:20we do every day,
- 5:21you know,
- 5:22but for most it's not.
- 5:23And so let us take care of that,
- 5:24let us keep it up to spec for you and so that you can keep enjoying that comfort of walking in the house and being comfortable each and every time.
- 5:32Um And,
- 5:33and like I said,
- 5:34I know you mentioned there too,
- 5:35but you can go to the website for time sake.
- 5:37I won't go through all day,
- 5:37but there's lots of benefits uh to being a part of that club uh as well as getting the,
- 5:42the two services per year.
- 5:43So,
- 5:44yeah,
- 5:44to look more into the club and to sign up the link to the Shafer website is here in the description of this podcast,
- 5:54also their phone number as well as always,
- 5:56Nathan.
- 5:56Thank you so much for joining me here on the program.
- 5:58I really appreciate your insight.
- 6:00Hey,
- 6:01you're welcome.
