- 0:52Speedy, you like my hair? You like the the blonde color?
- 0:55Yeah, you get a little, little lighter I think than the last.
- 0:58Little lighter light. I I like my new hat too XOX.
- 1:03What is that spell? What does that mean?
- 1:05Means hugs and kisses, Speedy. I'm not going to kiss you,
- 1:07Speedy No, I'm definitely not going to like you, but I do like
- 1:10the hat. It is beautiful and look, you
- 1:12know it has a little like heartbreak on the back of you.
- 1:15I like that speedy. Creative.
- 1:17Yes, it's very creative, very, very nice as I I'm just like a
- 1:21hat collector. I love my hats.
- 1:23So yeah. Hey Errol, I got to.
- 1:25I got to correct myself from the sportsman real quick.
- 1:28I just found out from research in the backstage I could have
- 1:32sworn Mikhail and Miles Bridges were brothers.
- 1:34They're not related at all. They were just drafted in the
- 1:36same year, had the exact same last name spelled the same way.
- 1:39Both have. I was going to say something.
- 1:41But I was. I did know that McHale Bridge
- 1:43just doesn't have a. Brother, I could have sworn.
- 1:46I could have sworn they were related the entire time they
- 1:48were in the NBA. The bigger the bigger issue, in
- 1:51fact, that Biles Bridges are still playing after what he did.
- 1:53Yeah, that's another thing. I mean, I am very surprised he.
- 1:55Still. Well, I mean, he just got put in
- 1:57a headlock by Isaiah Stewart, who's a massive individual.
- 2:01You got to watch that fight when you.
- 2:02Get a chance. I love Isaiah Stewart for him
- 2:04going after LeBron. I do very, very much so I like
- 2:07Isaiah Stewart. So I I remember when he went
- 2:10after Braun and he he started throwing punches at him and
- 2:13Braun, all he does is talk crap. But Braun, I mean, his hair is
- 2:17like his hairline is pushing so far back.
- 2:20I think if Isaiah Stewart landed a punch, his hair, his hair
- 2:24probably would have pushed even further back.
- 2:26So that's a whole nother story. Anyways, we call this King of
- 2:29the Hill. There's the King of the Hill.
- 2:32This, Bobby, is the Beltline. You never ever hit below that.
- 2:36Not that kind of king of the hill, you dumb ready?
- 2:39Are. You ready?
- 2:41This is King of the Hill. Man, that's the music.
- 2:47This hasn't been. We haven't.
- 2:48Played in a while. Welcome back to King of the
- 2:53Hill. Oh, this is everyone's favorite,
- 2:56kind of like round Robin trivia game.
- 2:59We're going to bring everybody and we're going to bring in our
- 3:01new interns for this one. Dom and Zoot are going to pop on
- 3:04in. That's cool.
- 3:05Jabba, if you can get the camera back in in the second.
- 3:07When we start this round, we're going to have just going to
- 3:11explain to everyone who's listening at home speed.
- 3:13If you just turn the music down just a touch, I'll let them know
- 3:16about the peasant fight, which is round one.
- 3:18Everybody's going to have to answer a question.
- 3:20You're going to have a top three.
- 3:22We're going to go in like a snake draft type fashion going
- 3:25down and then the last person goes twice and then back the
- 3:28other way. Whoever has the best 3 will be
- 3:30decided by King Errol, who will say who moves on to the Round 2,
- 3:33which is the joust. New questions, same idea.
- 3:37Give us your top three for whatever the question is and
- 3:40then Errol decide who decides who comes on to take on the
- 3:44king. At that point though, we go from
- 3:46monarchy to democracy. Everybody back in, we vote on
- 3:50Earth. Errol keeps his crown on the
- 3:52last question or it moves on to the challenger.
- 3:55Are you guys ready to play? King of the Hill.
- 3:58Whore bag. OK, I'll take that as a yes.
- 4:02All right, let's move this on to the King of the Hill camera,
- 4:05which is just our favorite camera over here.
- 4:09Here is the first one. In fact, we're going to go to
- 4:11this one now that we have it. I don't care if Java streams.
- 4:14Either no, I don't. All right, let's get into it.
- 4:19Here's the first round fight. Oh, man, best Super Bowls of all
- 4:28time. So the way this game works, you
- 4:30can't just tell me the Super Bowl and who was in it.
- 4:33You got to tell me why. Give us me at least one reason
- 4:37why that is the best Super Bowl of all time.
- 4:39You're being judged, Errol. Basically whatever you want, but
- 4:42I know you like when they explain themselves beneficial
- 4:45and make good points. Let's get it going.
- 4:50Best Super Bowls of all time, please.
- 4:54You know, we we don't need you to read off ChatGPT.
- 4:57We understand. No, we're not goody.
- 5:00We don't have the numbers of the Super Bowls chambered.
- 5:03You can look it up, but you need to have your own reasons.
- 5:07Here we go. Let's get the camera started and
- 5:11we'll just go like this. Jabba will pop in.
- 5:13We'll have Jabba go last. It'll be Speedy Dom, Zoot and
- 5:17then Jabba for two speedy. All right, I'm going to start it
- 5:20off with 1979. It was the the Steelers and the
- 5:24Cowboys when they played the second time and those were two
- 5:26of the best defense. Obviously the Steel Curtain with
- 5:28the Pittsburgh Steelers and that doomsday Dallas defense.
- 5:30And yet what we got here was a high scoring game back and
- 5:33forth. The Steelers end up winning it
- 5:34late, I believe on a touchdown by John Stallworth.
- 5:37Lynn Swann, I believe was the MVP in that game.
- 5:39And it was a high scoring game for the 70s.
- 5:42What you never see, if you look at all the Super Bowls in the
- 5:4470s, you barely ever saw even teams getting the 20 points.
- 5:47So a back and forth side game, one of the higher scoring Super
- 5:49Bowls ever and it was in the 70s of two teams with a lot of Hall
- 5:53of Farmers. OK, dumb all.
- 5:57Right, I got to go with Super Bowl 42,005, Pittsburgh Steelers
- 6:02versus Seattle Seahawks, and now through bowl campaigns.
- 6:06First of all, not just the Super Bowl run for the Steelers that
- 6:08year, but they were the first six seed ever to make the Super
- 6:11Bowl that year. All right, it was Jerome Bettis.
- 6:14His last year, Big Ben told him to come back in 2004.
- 6:18Jerome Bettis was going to retire.
- 6:19Big Ben told him to come back. He came back.
- 6:21Big Ben made the shoestring tackle for Jerome Bettis to save
- 6:25the touchdown from the Colts defense.
- 6:28The Colts kicker missed the field goal that game.
- 6:30So they went on. They went on to the ACE
- 6:31championship on it, winning that game in the Seahawks in the
- 6:34Super Bowl, great Super Bowl, and they wound up winning it for
- 6:38Jerome Bettis. All right, Zoot.
- 6:43Got to got to go another Steelers Super Bowl Super Bowl
- 6:4643 2009 Steelers Cardinals One of the most exciting finishes in
- 6:52Super Bowl history. Plus you had one of the best
- 6:55plays in this in Super Bowl history with James Harrisons 100
- 6:59yard pick 6 to end the first half and then come to the end of
- 7:03the fourth quarter. You get an exciting back and
- 7:06forth game. Larry Fitzgerald long touchdown
- 7:09right down the middle of the defense.
- 7:11And then the Steelers come back the other way with a long drive
- 7:14and San Antonio Holmes just a few plays before he makes the
- 7:18catch of his life, has a wide open drop in the end zone.
- 7:21And then 2 plays later, one of the best catches in Super Bowl
- 7:24history to win a Super Bowl and win Super Bowl MVP.
- 7:28It's got to be my pick. All right, looks like Jabba's a
- 7:31little busy right now, so we're going to go to Tommy Poops on
- 7:36Remote, joining us for 2A Deuce from The Deuce Man.
- 7:42A deuce from the poops man. I guess you could say too.
- 7:45But all right, so basically I'm going to go with as a non biased
- 7:50Giants fan whatsoever, I'm going to go with probably the best
- 7:53Super Bowl of all time, the Giants beating the undefeated
- 7:55Patriots. The code has been 19 and O
- 7:58Patriots ended up being the 18 and 1 patriots to the New York
- 8:02Giants. Absolutely stellar plays stellar
- 8:05amazing catches. What that one, of course, Eli
- 8:08Man and getting out of the pocket, managing to make that
- 8:11David Tyree catch and on top of that, a couple players later,
- 8:14Plaxico burst doing what he did. 99.
- 8:16Percent of the world. Getting it done, that's going to
- 8:19be my first pick and since I have a number two, I'm going to
- 8:22also go with the Colts and Bears.
- 8:24Super Bowl. That really was the one that put
- 8:29TomTom right. Excuse me, That was the one that
- 8:31Peyton Manning. Of course, Peyton Manning, no
- 8:32other team being the third seed ever even made it to the Super
- 8:35Bowl at that team. You had him Tom Brady fighting
- 8:39in an AFC. Then you get to the Super Bowl
- 8:40and what an amazing showcase that was.
- 8:43You had the Bears with Devin Hester and that amazing the way
- 8:45to start off a game. You had an absolute amazing team
- 8:49in the Colts, absolutely full with a Hall of Famers and
- 8:51legends that that one has to absolutely be up there on the
- 8:54Mount Rushmore Super Bowls. Let's go back the other way,
- 8:57Zoot. For the second one, I got to go
- 9:00the second Chiefs 49ers Super Bowl, which ended up in
- 9:06overtime. I mean, that game was high
- 9:11scoring back and forth, good offense, some good defensive
- 9:14plays too. And then coming down with that
- 9:17confusing end of the first overtime where the clock was
- 9:21running down and the Chiefs were just being patient and everyone
- 9:25watching at probably every, every Super Bowl party.
- 9:28What are the Chiefs doing? They're letting the clock run
- 9:29down. But they seemed like they were
- 9:31the only one who knew the new overtime rules in the playoffs
- 9:35where all they were going to do is flip sides of the fields.
- 9:37But it didn't matter because they ended up scoring right on
- 9:40the end, too. Definitely one of the most
- 9:42exciting Super Bowls of recent memory and seeing Patrick
- 9:46Mahomes. I know nobody likes Patrick
- 9:47Mahomes, but I like him. He's an exciting quarterback to
- 9:49watch win another Super Bowl. All right, Dom.
- 9:55Yeah, I like that take. But yeah, I'm going to have to
- 9:58say the the Ravens and 49ers when the lights went out called
- 10:04the blackout brawl. That was an absolutely insane
- 10:08Super Bowl. As the current 3 fan myself, I
- 10:11want to see the Ravens get absolutely killed that game.
- 10:14But of course they were doing the doing the kill in that game
- 10:17to the 49ers until the lights went out.
- 10:20Kobe Jones returning, that second-half touchdown, being up
- 10:2420 to 6 was absolutely crazy. And then when the lights go out,
- 10:28a whole different atmosphere and vibe comes back out. 49ers come
- 10:32back, surge back, wind up winning that game 34 to 31 with
- 10:36Colin Kaepernick at the helm, The Hardball Bowl to Harbaugh
- 10:40brothers, that was just an awesome Super Bowl.
- 10:43So nice to see. So nice to see the 49ers come
- 10:46back and win that game. That was one of the most iconic
- 10:49Super Bowls and one of the best Super Bowls to this death.
- 10:53All right, Speedy for two. Before I get to my before I get
- 10:56to my pics, Adam, it was funny. I was in high school with that
- 10:59with that Super Bowl happened and my friends and I had a
- 11:01conspiracy hearing that Sean Payton because that was the year
- 11:04he got suspended, got revenge on the Saints organization because
- 11:06it was at the Superdome and they messed up their stadium.
- 11:11All right, so I'll go to I'll go to back-to-back here kind of 2-3
- 11:14years apart of these two Super Bowls.
- 11:16I'm going to start with the Rams and the Titans.
- 11:17One that when it ended 1 yard short, the tackle by Mike Jones
- 11:21on Kevin Dyson after Kevin Dyson obviously had the Music City
- 11:24miracle the week before to beat the Buffalo Bills.
- 11:26That was the greatest show on turf with that Rams offense.
- 11:29It was Jeff Fisher defense and ended up actually containing him
- 11:32decently throughout that game. Steve McNair, rest in peace with
- 11:35a good quarterback at that time, played very well in that game
- 11:37back and forth. But it's a tough thought to do
- 11:40it when you're doing 1 yard short as the final play of a
- 11:43Super Bowl, not to put that one up there.
- 11:45And again, these are two teams that just relocated to the Rams,
- 11:48Saint Louis and Houston Oilers after never making the Super
- 11:51Bowl in Houston, going to Tennessee.
- 11:52So I'll take that one as one and I'll reference one that we
- 11:55mentioned earlier with Kenneth Walker now winning Super Bowl
- 11:58MVP with the last one being Terrell Davis.
- 12:00I agree with Errol. He should not be a Hall of
- 12:02Famer. He was like a three or four year
- 12:03peak guy. I'm surprised he got in as
- 12:05quickly as he did, but he was Super Bowl MVP for the Broncos
- 12:07against the Packers. That our friend Leroy Butler,
- 12:10unfortunately. Lost it.
- 12:11But it was a very good back and forth game, John Elway and Brett
- 12:14Favre, 2 good coaches at that time, good very offensive
- 12:17schemes and John Elway making that crazy run to get him into
- 12:19the red zone to set up that play for the Broncos.
- 12:21And they win the first of back-to-back Super Bowls, their
- 12:25first ever in their franchise history.
- 12:27So take that, soccer. As my second one in 98.
- 12:30All right, back to Dom. All right, well, this is, I know
- 12:35a lot of people hate Tom Brady. A lot of people hate the
- 12:37Patriots. I do myself.
- 12:39But I got to go the 28 to 3 Super Bowl New England Patriots
- 12:43versus the Atlanta Falcons. Now that was an absolute crazy
- 12:47comeback. I believe that is the largest
- 12:50deficit comeback in durable history after being down 25
- 12:53points. I'll never forget that lucky
- 12:56catch with Julian Edelman in between like 6 Atlanta Falcons
- 13:02defenders. All of a sudden him getting his
- 13:03little right arm under that football in between their legs
- 13:07and catching that coming down with that.
- 13:10I knew right then and there something, something, something
- 13:13was going on. Tom Brady leading those
- 13:15game-winning drives, those two point conversions and then
- 13:17finally tapping it off with the James White touchdown at the end
- 13:22of the game to end it and to come back from 28 to 3 deficit.
- 13:27Matt Ryan great year that year, but fortunately his defense
- 13:30couldn't hold up and get the job done.
- 13:32So that's. Definitely.
- 13:33Do you know a rooster is a cock? All right.
- 13:37Zoot. And I'm going to go to another
- 13:41Patriots, Super Bowl 2015. Patriots, Seahawks.
- 13:45It was a lot better than the most recent edition of Patriots.
- 13:48Seahawks. Another game going back and
- 13:50forth. Well, remember that Jermaine
- 13:53curse catch on the final Seahawks drive?
- 13:56I really thought the Patriots were about to go down.
- 13:58As someone growing up in New England, not a Patriots fan, I
- 14:02hated them. You know, I love nothing more
- 14:05than being able to go to school the next day and make fun of all
- 14:07my Patriots fans, friends, and when Jermaine Curse made that
- 14:11catch, I thought I was about to be able to do that again the
- 14:13next day. They get down to the goal line,
- 14:161 yard line. All you got to do is give it to
- 14:17Lynch. The biggest, the best power back
- 14:20in the league. Pete Carroll tries to get cute
- 14:23and Malcolm Butler just makes the play of his life.
- 14:28All right, and Tommy, finish it up.
- 14:30All right, so I was actually going to go with that one too.
- 14:32But since that one was taken, I will be going with the Saints
- 14:36and Colts Super Bowl where Drew Brees did it finally and won
- 14:39himself his first and only ring. But you know, that definitely
- 14:42did wonders for him in his career.
- 14:43Definitely that he was that guy, that guy that can lead A-Team to
- 14:47a franchise. That did wonders for Sean
- 14:48Payne's career. And it was an overall great game
- 14:50overall. You had he what do you think of
- 14:53craziest decisions to actually go for an onside kick out of the
- 14:56halftime? And like I said, both teams were
- 14:58just absolutely amazing and on fire that entire season.
- 15:00Both teams had an undefeated season going into like Week 15,
- 15:03which is absolutely amazing. That Drew Brees also didn't do
- 15:06it against anybody. He did against Peyton Manning.
- 15:09So that's got to be up there. Of course we want to keep best
- 15:11Super Bowls of all time. All right, Errol, who's moving
- 15:14on to Round 2? The Jousts.
- 15:16I'll let you choose. All right, I'm going to go with
- 15:21Speedy and I like Zoot's pics. We're going to go with Zoot.
- 15:26We're going to move you on, you 2 guys back into the backstage.
- 15:29We're going to move on to the next round.
- 15:30Here it is. We'll just pop Dom off.
- 15:33He'll be right hanging back. Here it is Round 2, the joust.
- 15:38All right, no points or anything, but a new question You
- 15:42get same idea. Go back and forth.
- 15:44There won't be you go twice in a row in this round.
- 15:47Just back and forth. Errol will decide who goes
- 15:49first. This one best plays in Super
- 15:53Bowl history, so you can go through the annals of the 60
- 15:59different Super Bowls that have happened.
- 16:02Tell us what the best plays in those games were.
- 16:05Suit you're going to start off, then speed to go, then I'll go
- 16:07back. I'm giving you the advantage
- 16:09suit. All right, I'm going to go to
- 16:11the Super Bowl. I already mentioned Super Bowl
- 16:1443, end of the first half. The Arizona Cardinals are
- 16:19driving, looking to take the lead, and James Harrison is
- 16:22supposed to blitz. He's he's a blitzer.
- 16:24That's what he does. He doesn't drop into coverage,
- 16:26but instead he decides, you know what, I'm going to, I'm going to
- 16:28back off. This isn't even what I'm
- 16:30supposed to do this play, but I'm going to back off.
- 16:32He backs off. Kurt Warner doesn't see it
- 16:34coming at all, makes the pick, not only picks it off to stop
- 16:38the Cardinals from scoring and a goal line situation, runs it 100
- 16:42yards back all the way for a touchdown to completely change
- 16:47the game. Speedy.
- 16:50Got to go with the got to go with the helmet catch for the
- 16:52Giants. David Tyree.
- 16:54Eli Manning also with the escape too, which that was probably the
- 16:57only time he ever did that in his career because he could
- 16:59barely run. Are you a meat Bender?
- 17:00No, I'm not a meat Bender, but Eli Manning bent out of several
- 17:04Patriots players, including one we've had on the show in the
- 17:06past, and Jarvis Green to make that escape and throw the ball
- 17:09down field. David Tyree catches it right in
- 17:10front of Hall of Famer and Rodney Harrison.
- 17:13Willie Whopper's Speedy. But that one up there has
- 17:17arguably the greatest. Reminds you of an old graphic.
- 17:22Say we once had Zoot. You're up.
- 17:25OK, I'm going to stay in the same game and go to San Antonio
- 17:29Holmes in the back of the end zone to win the Super Bowl.
- 17:32A guy that wasn't really even a star receiver.
- 17:34He was just kind of a role player.
- 17:36He made some good plays just sitting in the back of the end
- 17:39zone, the toe tap. I mean, it's probably as close
- 17:43as you can get getting that toe barely down before he fell down.
- 17:49Probably one of the best, probably a top three catch in
- 17:52Super Bowl history. And the fact that it was a game
- 17:54winner makes it one of the best offensive plays of all time.
- 17:58In the throw by Big Ben, that might be the best throw in Super
- 18:01Bowl history. Just over the defender, not too
- 18:03far right in the corner of the end zone to win the Super Bowl.
- 18:07All right, all right, back to Speedy.
- 18:09All right, I'll change it up a little bit.
- 18:10Let's go for some let's go for some special teams here.
- 18:13One of you mentioned the the Saints Super Bowl.
- 18:15Why not the onside kick, that onside kick, a bold as bold of a
- 18:19play call as you can get for Sean Payton going out of the
- 18:21gate. The Saints, this is their first
- 18:22time ever in the Super Bowl. There was a team that was
- 18:24previously dysfunctional forever.
- 18:26They didn't make the playoffs until 1989 and it come out with
- 18:29an onside kick. Thomas Morstead, who is still
- 18:31punting as a clear too. It's crazy how good his career
- 18:34has been. Poor bag as a punter, but coming
- 18:36out of the gates with that kind of momentum, I get to Peyton
- 18:39Manning in Indianapolis. Colts number one seed that just
- 18:41won the Super Bowl 3 years. To.
- 18:43Do that. I think he has to be up there
- 18:46for special teams plays. Ever.
- 18:48I have to take a shit. All right, last ones, zoot.
- 18:52I'm a biased Steelers fan, so I'm going to go to another
- 18:54Steelers play. The trick play in 2005 against
- 19:00the Seahawks, Antoine Randall out double reverse pass down the
- 19:05field to Heinz Ward. Just.
- 19:08I mean, you really, teams try to bring out a lot of new stuff in
- 19:12the Super Bowl to try and throw teams off.
- 19:15But you don't see stuff like that usually.
- 19:17Yeah, sure. You see sometimes some passes by
- 19:22non quarterbacks, maybe not maybe at the goal line or maybe
- 19:26in a short yardage situation, but to have a wide receiver
- 19:29throw it like 50 yards down the field for a deep touchdown, you
- 19:33really never see plays like that in the Super Bowl.
- 19:36So the double reverse pass Antoine Randall L to Heinz Ward
- 19:40for me all. Right, Speedy, finish it up.
- 19:43All right, I'm going to finish it up with the with with Julian
- 19:47Edelman's catch in that Super Bowl 51 that you guys mentioned.
- 19:50I mean, yeah, there was a little bit of a luck involved.
- 19:52Robert Alford went for the ball and probably should have just
- 19:54tried to deflect it instead of trying to go for the
- 19:56interception. But Julian Edelman, like one of
- 19:59you were saying before, smothered around 2 safeties
- 20:01behind him with the Falcons. They had a linebacker that was
- 20:04coming over there and to make that kind of catch in traffic in
- 20:07that. Kind of moment, but.
- 20:08With Tom Brady backed up as well as they did, they needed a
- 20:11prayer basically and I think. That like a serial kill.
- 20:15Wasn't as like athletically difficult as Tyrese, but I think
- 20:18in terms of the awareness, in terms of the just having all
- 20:21those defenders around him, I mean it's got to be up there.
- 20:23This makes my pecker. Hard.
- 20:26All right, Errol, who's moving on?
- 20:27I'm going to go zoot. All right, let's go.
- 20:31Let's try to work. For you zoot, very good.
- 20:34Let's bring everyone else back into the stage and we're going
- 20:38to get right to the last round of this one, and this one is a
- 20:43fun one. You guys get to take on the
- 20:47king. We're going to see if Zoot is
- 20:49going to be the king next week. So here you go.
- 20:53We're done with we're done with football on the show after this
- 20:56question reasons why the Patriots lost and the Seahawks
- 21:02won this game. Either you can say it's the
- 21:06Patriots lost because of this or the Seahawks won because of
- 21:10that. Whether it's you know more on
- 21:12one team or the other, however you want to phrase it, I want
- 21:15you to have fun and be creative with this.
- 21:18We've talked about it all show it's time Errol, you are the
- 21:21reigning king. Would you like to go first or
- 21:23second I'll. Go first.
- 21:26All right, let's begin. Everybody knows why they won
- 21:29that game. Dominant defense.
- 21:31I mean, the defense absolutely completely stuffed.
- 21:35They're running game in the second-half and they couldn't
- 21:38they couldn't throw against him. Diggs was their big power
- 21:42superstar wide receiver. He couldn't get open.
- 21:45Nobody could get open on that booty, whatever his name is.
- 21:48The booster I he couldn't get open.
- 21:51No. And Drake may just couldn't
- 21:52throw the ball. He didn't have time to throw the
- 21:54ball because he was sacked. How many times?
- 21:566 times it was just complete annihilation defensively.
- 22:01Zoot. I'm going to say the New England
- 22:05Patriots lost because they didn't deserve to be there.
- 22:09The New England Patriots, they were good this season.
- 22:11They improved a lot from last season, don't get me wrong, but
- 22:15they played literally the easiest schedule of all time.
- 22:20They played three teams with a winning record, the Buffalo
- 22:24Bills twice and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
- 22:27Neither of those teams were that great this year.
- 22:29The Steelers, they make the playoffs and lose every year.
- 22:33They're never a contender. And the Bills, well, they're
- 22:36usually contenders every year because of Josh Allen.
- 22:38They weren't the same team this year.
- 22:40They didn't have the defense or the weapons like they normally
- 22:43do. The Patriots simply were
- 22:46outmatched by a team that deserves to make it to the Super
- 22:49Bowl. And then in the playoffs, the
- 22:51Patriots played against the Chargers, who their online was
- 22:55completely decimated. Justin Herbert didn't play a
- 22:58good game. Then they play the Texans where
- 23:00CJ Stroud plays maybe the worst game of football I think I've
- 23:05ever seen. I mean, if he just plays
- 23:07average, the Texans probably win that game.
- 23:10And then they go to Denver, where they play against a backup
- 23:12quarterback who, if he didn't make that one mistake with that
- 23:16backwards pass, Denver might have won that game.
- 23:19The the Patriots were simply outmatched because they just
- 23:22didn't deserve to be there. They were a great team.
- 23:24They improved a lot. May did a lot of really good
- 23:27things this year, and he deserved to be second in MVP
- 23:29voting. But the Patriots just weren't
- 23:32nearly as good as Seattle. Seattle was a true Super Bowl
- 23:36team. The Patriots were not.
- 23:39Let's move on to the next one, Errol.
- 23:42Just absolutely dominate coat dominant coaching by Mike
- 23:45McDonald. I mean you're talking about Mike
- 23:47Frabel. He had such a good season.
- 23:50Everybody was giving him the coach of the year.
- 23:52But Mike McDonald, I said it on my story.
- 23:54We're going to see who the better coach is when they go to
- 23:57the Super Bowl and you just saw a complete domination.
- 24:00Mike McDonald's defense completely out coached and
- 24:03outplayed Josh McDaniels and and Mike Frabel.
- 24:07Mike Frabel had nothing to say at the end of the game
- 24:10throughout the from from for the first quarter to the fourth
- 24:13quarter, the transition, even the second-half, the change of
- 24:16pace was all Mike McDonald. He just completely out coached
- 24:20and I'll play called with his coaches Mike Rabel and Josh
- 24:25McDaniel. All right, Zoot.
- 24:30The Seahawks skill players on offense made so many more plays
- 24:34than any of the Patriots skill players.
- 24:36There really wasn't anywhere where the Patriots skill player,
- 24:40Andre Stevenson, diggs booty, None of them really did
- 24:43anything. I don't think digs, digs had
- 24:46like one or two catches. He didn't do much.
- 24:48He's supposed to be their star player.
- 24:50But the Seahawks, JSN had a good game.
- 24:52He had a few nice catches. Cooper Cup had a nice game with
- 24:55a few catches. And then Kenneth Walker, just an
- 24:58absolutely dominant game. And it was certainly helped by
- 25:02Seattle's online having maybe their best game of the year too.
- 25:06But 170 total yards for Kenneth Walker.
- 25:09I mean, especially when the Patriots skill players aren't
- 25:13doing anything on the other end. If a guy's gonna have 170 yards,
- 25:16it's gonna be tough to stop that offense.
- 25:19All right. Last ones, Errol.
- 25:22Well, he used the offense, so I'm gonna have to, I'm gonna
- 25:24have to say that the Patriots defense, the Patriots defense
- 25:28just didn't show up in the big parts of the game.
- 25:31They couldn't stop Kenneth Walker.
- 25:32This was the best, the second best run stopping team in all of
- 25:36the NFL. And Kenneth Walker ran all over
- 25:38them and in specific parts of the game where they needed to
- 25:40clock up the middle, even take him on the outside.
- 25:43It was just horrible defense by the Patriots, especially in the
- 25:47second-half. When you think Mike Vrabel, he's
- 25:49a defensive minded coach and he always says he comes from the
- 25:52Bill Belichick coaching. You know the coaching system
- 25:56where you stop the best guy and who's was their best guy
- 25:59offensively throughout the game? Kenneth Walker.
- 26:01You would have thought in the second-half they would stop
- 26:03Kenneth Walker, especially how good their their, their defense
- 26:06and their front 7 is. They couldn't stop them still.
- 26:08So I would say the Patriots defense absolutely was a
- 26:11debacle, especially. Our last one, Zoot for the end
- 26:16of game. Well, we talked about offense,
- 26:18we talked about defense. How about the special teams?
- 26:21Seattle special teams played amazing.
- 26:24Not just the kicker, Jason Myers, a Super Bowl record 5
- 26:28field goals. But I want to talk about the
- 26:30punter. He had two punts inside the five
- 26:33yard line. He had another one inside the
- 26:3510. It's tough when your offense is
- 26:38struggling already. When you're that backed up, it's
- 26:43so much tougher to get something going because you can get three
- 26:46first downs in a row and you're not even at midfield yet.
- 26:50So when your offense is already struggling and you're and the
- 26:54other teams punters pinning you back every single time, it's
- 26:58it's impossible to just get anything going without getting a
- 27:02deep ball, which we saw. Drake may try to Force One and
- 27:05it was an interception. I got to go.
- 27:07Special teams made just an even bigger impact than there already
- 27:11was on both sides of the wall for Seattle.
- 27:14Special teams just put the nail in the coffin.
- 27:17All right, so now we're going to vote and I'm going to just read
- 27:21off what the the different reasons you guys said.
- 27:23Errol gave Seattle's defense, Mike McDonald dominating Vrabel
- 27:28and Patriots defense, specifically the run defense not
- 27:31showing up especially late in the game.
- 27:33Zoot didn't deserve to be there because of their easy schedule
- 27:37and path to the game. Seahawks skill players made more
- 27:40plays than pat skill players and Seattle special teams.
- 27:43I'm giving this one to Errol 2 to 1.
- 27:45I loved your special teams take there at the end, Zoot.
- 27:48I think that that was one of the ones, especially the punter, you
- 27:51know, pinning them back. I love that.
- 27:53But I got to give the Seattle defense is definitely the reason
- 27:56they they won this game. So I got to take that over your
- 27:58reason and McDonald dominating variable is, I think, more
- 28:02important than what the scandal players did in that one.
- 28:05So I'm going to go with Errol on this one.
- 28:08Speedy how do you vote? Yeah, I'm voting the same way.
- 28:10I think the defense was definitely the number one factor
- 28:12and I think the discrepancy and a coaching advantage too.
- 28:15And so we were judging more of like the in games concepts.
- 28:19Like, yeah, we know the Patriots got a cakewalk schedule
- 28:21obviously. And I think there were a lot of
- 28:23teams in the AFC that would have gotten exposed by that Seahawks
- 28:25team this year. But I I think that wasn't as
- 28:28much of A game factor. So I, I that wasn't probably the
- 28:31lowest of the six for me. All right, Dom, how do you vote?
- 28:37I got to go zoot. With that special teams on at
- 28:41the end, I think was a very important factor that benefits
- 28:45not only Seattle's defense playing in there, but also their
- 28:50offense. If they don't get a first down,
- 28:52they punt it. You get ball midfield.
- 28:54I think that special teams take Big 1, so I got to go zoot here.
- 28:58All right, 2 to 1, Tommy. Yeah, dude, I thought you had
- 29:03some really good points. I mean, of course I thought the
- 29:04Patriots have also had a Mickey Mouse schedule of of a schedule
- 29:07all season long. And of course, that dude, that
- 29:10punter was absolutely amazing. I kept watching him punt inside
- 29:13the five those two times. I was just like, damn, this dude
- 29:15does not miss. And what a great way to start
- 29:17punting on a great day. But honestly, the two ultimate
- 29:20deciding factors has to be just the fact that that defense just
- 29:23looked, I mean, like Errol mentioned too before during the
- 29:26monologue, it just looked like the oldest Legion of Boom
- 29:27defense. You know, you had a if you were
- 29:29an old Seattle Russ Wilson fan and everyone in all the days
- 29:32back in the Legion of Boom days, you loved that that defense
- 29:35yesterday. And on top of that, Mike
- 29:36McDonald just absolutely out coached Mike Rabel.
- 29:39So that was ultimately the two things that made them win.
- 29:41And on top of that, the Patriots defense like Errol mentioned.
- 29:44So. I got to go there and you know
- 29:47what that means. By a vote of three to one, Errol
- 29:50is king of the hill once more. Thanks for playing, everybody.
- 29:56We'll play again sometime. Dude, you were really good, man.
- 29:59Your takes, yeah, are fantastic and thank you.
- 30:02The only thing I would say that you made a mistake is, is their
- 30:05schedule. Their strength is schedule to
- 30:07get there. That had nothing to do with the
- 30:08game, you know. So if, if you if you would have
- 30:12gave another take that had something to do with the game, I
- 30:15might have swung your way. I mean, there was some takes
- 30:18that you made a special team. And also Gonzalez, he played
- 30:21fantastic. I mean, he shut down the the the
- 30:25wide receivers on that side, but the Patriots couldn't stop the
- 30:28run game. That was the, I think the the
- 30:31problem why the Patriots couldn't beat them or couldn't
- 30:33even keep into the game. And, and you're right, Myers was
- 30:36unbelievable. So he really was so there.
- 30:39You go. That was a great job, Errol.
- 30:41We got one segment left, yes. Ladies and gentlemen, we call
- 30:45this Dial it Up. This regularly scheduled hot mix
- 30:49to bring an important news we got.
- 30:51A big broadcast to do here. We're about to dial it up.
- 30:55I'd take a shit. What about Steven?
- 30:57Oh boy. Welcome back to Dial IT Up,
- 31:01everyone's favorite Lightning round Sports News segment.
- 31:05We got five stories. Errol hasn't heard them.
- 31:07He's going to see him for the first time and dial up a
- 31:10reaction and then we will react to his first take on it.
- 31:16Are you guys ready to dial it up?
- 31:19First story taking care of my the closer Emmanuel Class A
- 31:25Apparently it gets worse than we thought, or maybe we thought it
- 31:29was this bad, I don't know. But Emmanuel Class A is now
- 31:32being accused of manipulating his pitching performance in at
- 31:37least 48 games over a 26 month period from 2023 to 2025 to
- 31:45benefit gamblers. This is now updated the scope of
- 31:50the investigation. It looks like he, along with
- 31:54teammate Luis Ortiz, accepted thousands of of dollars in
- 31:57bribes to help gamblers in the doctor win about half,
- 32:02$1,000,000. Obviously that covers apparently
- 32:08a quarter, 25% of all games Class A appeared in in that time
- 32:14period. Errol, dial it up.
- 32:17Oh my God, find out that there was 48 games that he was
- 32:21involved with making, you know, making viable bets and stuff
- 32:25like that. It it just says one thing.
- 32:27How did the MLB not know about this story?
- 32:29How did the FBI link this? And and again, we don't know if
- 32:34Emmanuel Class A had anything to do with the playoffs and what
- 32:37against the Yankees, the Yankees were hitting home run after home
- 32:41run against them completely dominating him.
- 32:43This is a horrible story and it just shows you that Ben betting
- 32:46is only going to get worse. These players are going to get
- 32:49more involved. We had we've had many people,
- 32:51Tim, Tim Donaghy on the show saying that it's going to be
- 32:54more it's going to factor into college sports, especially
- 32:58college basketball. Even worse.
- 33:00This is not a good story for baseball and and again, baseball
- 33:03is going to have to nip this on a bus.
- 33:04But before it gets worse, remember baseball would be on
- 33:08strike next year. Maybe with the new CBA rules
- 33:11they'll have something involved with sports betting and how if
- 33:15they do it more than one time, they're completely banished from
- 33:18the game of baseball. It's it's frustrating to me
- 33:24because I know, I know what happens.
- 33:28I didn't think it was to this extent, but what are you taking
- 33:32thousands when you're making millions?
- 33:36What the hell is the point? Like what?
- 33:38Like are you really making that much?
- 33:41Because it originally came out, it was only 15,000, and now it's
- 33:45more games. And he's helping.
- 33:47So is he getting kicked back? You're already making $8
- 33:49million. What the Hell's another 1530
- 33:52grand? That's another Breitling watch
- 33:56or an Automark, a game, whatever you want.
- 33:58Like a Rolex. I don't care.
- 33:59Like that's the part that I don't understand.
- 34:02And obviously they're from a different culture.
- 34:05Don't understand that. We'll never say I do.
- 34:08But we all have morals. We're all human beings.
- 34:10We know what's right and wrong and for you to not only just
- 34:15dabble, but like to be like 48 games.
- 34:18I mean, that's damn, it's 1/4 of the season depending on if you
- 34:22if you take a 162 and I just I don't I don't understand it.
- 34:27It makes the game look terrible in so many ways and which way I
- 34:34think it it, it's not looking great and we're going to lose
- 34:39because now we're going into a year where it's going to strike
- 34:41and then there's a bad taste in people's mouth, not only on the
- 34:44strike but with betting and everything that goes on top of
- 34:47it. That's going to lead into the
- 34:48season when we don't come to agreement that is just like it's
- 34:52stacking on stacking and it's just not.
- 34:55The game is in a great place. There was nothing better than
- 34:58what Major League Baseball wanted this post season with
- 35:01Canada, with Japan, with you Dominican.
- 35:04I mean, we had everything that Major League Baseball could
- 35:07want. And now we get a slap in the
- 35:08face to find out this was worse than it was.
- 35:11And now we're fighting for our lives to hopefully hold on to
- 35:14the season. It's just going to leave a worst
- 35:16taste and it it doesn't make it. And because now they're finding
- 35:20this out, what are they going to do now?
- 35:22They're going to dig more. They're going to dig more.
- 35:25And it's like an iceberg. You only see a little bit.
- 35:27And we're now we're going to hopefully we don't see any more
- 35:29for the sake of the game and the integrity of the game.
- 35:33But damn, how long did it take to find all the rest of this
- 35:37stuff out? Who knows how many more people
- 35:39deep it is. And I just, it's just not a good
- 35:42position or a good state of where the game should.
- 35:45Be and 48 games. How does the How does the
- 35:47baseball not figure this out? 48 games he was betting.
- 35:51On how would we get that number is what I really want.
- 35:53Like can they pin? Did they go?
- 35:56Did they have an arbitrator? Did they have one dude's job
- 36:00like Zoot or Dominic is literally sitting going through
- 36:02every game like oh, that pitch. Remember what he did the first
- 36:05time he threw a ball here now, OK, 40.
- 36:09OK, look at the like. How do you come to that number?
- 36:12I bet that's what I don't I. Bet you there's.
- 36:14Somebody inside to where they they looked at enough dialogue
- 36:19and video to be like it was 48 games.
- 36:23Yeah, and like I said, Java, that's literally one out of
- 36:26every four games he appeared in in two years.
- 36:29So that's crazy. Next, next story, Errol, I know
- 36:33you're going to love this. Not really.
- 36:35Duke got upset by UNC. Yeah, yeah.
- 36:38Yeah, and it LED and. They led the.
- 36:41And they led the whole game. UNC charges the court and
- 36:45apparently some Duke staffers got rocked in the face by some
- 36:51UNC fans in this upset. When I came back, this is coach
- 36:56John Shire. I came back in the locker room
- 36:58and I see he's got a bloody lip and he's disheveled and he
- 37:02didn't know what happened. He got trampled on the floor.
- 37:05That was my main concern after the game.
- 37:07That's why I said what I said. Shire lost his mind a little bit
- 37:11in the post game conference. Was very unhappy with how it was
- 37:15done. If you remember last year, I
- 37:18believe it was Houston, Kyle Philipowski that got hurt in one
- 37:24of those games. I think it was also against UNC
- 37:27where they got hurt with another crowd storming.
- 37:30Duke loses. They only dropped 1.1 in the in
- 37:33the standings. They're still fine, Errol.
- 37:37What's it say about the future of crowd storming here if they
- 37:41can't stop from being aggressive to the players and coaches?
- 37:45Dial it up. If I'm going to storm at one of
- 37:47the coaches, I'm knocking out John Shire, OK, I'm not knocking
- 37:52out anybody but John Shire because he's a complete moron.
- 37:56How do you let UNC come back in this game?
- 37:58You're dominating the whole game and then the last again, last
- 38:02three minutes of the game absolutely choked.
- 38:04We saw that against Houston in the Final Four when you were up
- 38:07by 12 with, what, 2 1/2 minutes left?
- 38:09It's an absolute debacle. And then he comes out.
- 38:12Yeah, I'm, if I'm one of the fans, too, I'm knocking out you.
- 38:15I'm knocking out your coaches. I'm knocking out your players
- 38:18because you're going to get knocked out of the tournament
- 38:21the way you finish games. As far as them driving on the
- 38:25This has been going on forever. It's been going on forever.
- 38:28If the coaches know it's going to happen, they're not the home
- 38:31team. You know what you do get the
- 38:33hell off the floor. And John Shire's crying about
- 38:35it. The only thing he should be
- 38:36crying thing about is him not getting knocked the hell out
- 38:39because if I was on that floor I'm knocking him the F out.
- 38:42That's it. Because he's a complete moron.
- 38:45We already we already mentioned this a while back moron.
- 38:48If Duke does win a championship with George.
- 38:50I'm a Duke. We're inviting Carl to the
- 38:52parade before Errol because Carl Dose stood by John Shire
- 38:56forever, I think. He's an idiot.
- 38:57He's going to win the final game.
- 38:59I didn't say I trust them to win they they actually have like one
- 39:02of the highest rated Kempogs teams ever.
- 39:03But can you trust it with John Shire as a As a?
- 39:05Coach not at the end of the game.
- 39:06No, I know the end of the game, definitely not ideal.
- 39:10Going back to what you were saying about the court storming,
- 39:12I always said that court storming and then same thing
- 39:14with football too, is a lot of times more reserved for those
- 39:16bigger upsets those those ACC schools or those like non power
- 39:204 schools that. That wasn't a big.
- 39:22Upset, and obviously it was a big upset they were.
- 39:24Undefeated. No, I know that I'm not.
- 39:26I'm not saying that I'm OK with it actually, even in a rivalry
- 39:29instance. I think that's why they're
- 39:31trying to reduce it as a whole. But again, in a rivalry like
- 39:34Duke, North Carolina when North Carolina.
- 39:36Is dude you and Barry rank? UNC shouldn't have even came.
- 39:39Back in that game, I'm I don't have a.
- 39:41Problem. You were up by 10 with two
- 39:43minutes. Almost 2 1/2 minutes left and
- 39:45you choked again. The game was.
- 39:47Over yeah I wouldn't storm the court all the time just because
- 39:50if it's a road upset like if you're ranked on ranked but this
- 39:53is fine coaching I feel bad for the I was to the coach that.
- 39:55Got timing out to calling time out at the proper time, which
- 39:59John Shea, John Shea has no understanding on how to do that.
- 40:03He stinks. That's all it is.
- 40:05And again, if I was on the basketball court, I'm I'm
- 40:08running and I'm going to punch somebody out.
- 40:09I'm punching him out because he doesn't know what the hell he's
- 40:11talking and he's crying to the media.
- 40:13Stop dude, you stink. Well, at least there's a media
- 40:17to cry to. This next story kind of scares
- 40:20the crap out of me. And of course it's Rob Manfred.
- 40:23No please. The MLB in the union have agreed
- 40:27to use AI of players to interact with fans.
- 40:33How wonderful. So this means basically there's
- 40:38going to be AI avatars of players that converse directly
- 40:45to people, like replicas of Jabba would talk to Jabba's
- 40:49fans. Now, I don't know how the
- 40:51money's going to work as far as the likeness in AI and how
- 40:56players are going to get paid. I'm assuming there's something
- 40:58to it. But it was agreed by MLB Players
- 41:01Inc, the business arm of the MLB Players Association and the
- 41:05company Genies. There's going to be interactive
- 41:08conversations, personalized interactions, year round
- 41:12engagement and of course commercial offerings.
- 41:15There's going to be roll out in the this year and it's going to
- 41:19be contributed to some AI fan experiences.
- 41:23MLB wants to do going forwards with fans remotely.
- 41:28Errol, it's a brand new world. Dial it up.
- 41:32First of all, am I going to get a chance to speak to an AI
- 41:36version of Rob Manfred to tell him how stupid he is?
- 41:38I mean, seriously, this is the dumbest, dumbest thing.
- 41:41I understand it's starting to transition.
- 41:44You don't need AI to talk to to to be the speakers for the
- 41:48players that you could reach out to the players.
- 41:50There's social media, there's X, there's Instagram.
- 41:53Why do I want to speak to AI? If I want to speak to AI, I'll
- 41:56just go reach out to ChatGPT or Google AI and have a
- 42:00conversation to myself. This is the most dumbest,
- 42:03stupidest, ridiculous move that baseball has brought to the
- 42:08table. And if anybody copies baseball,
- 42:10it just shows you how stupid and how dumb every organization is.
- 42:14It's a dumb move. Baseball should not be doing
- 42:16this. Eventually it will happen.
- 42:18Eventually we'll have robotic professional athletes.
- 42:22But right now we're what, what, five years into AI and we're
- 42:25going to have AI speaking for the players?
- 42:27It's dumb, it's stupid, it's dumb move.
- 42:29They're not speaking for the players.
- 42:31Are going to be their are going to be the player they're going
- 42:34to be more players they're going to pretend their job yeah,
- 42:37they're speaking they're speaking see that that that's
- 42:41where that's where I hate it and I don't care what the non I
- 42:46guess extrovert people, but that takes away from my brain because
- 42:52what if AI is not like the way I perceive things or the way and I
- 42:57don't know obviously I'm not that smart but if I'm having a
- 43:01conversation, am I just agreeing with you and like having a great
- 43:05conversation and like just making you feel good like no
- 43:08like if you don't like what I'm saying I'm telling you because
- 43:11like that's my opinion and that's how I feel like OK, am I
- 43:15getting paid for it yeah, you have to if the PA agreed to it,
- 43:20it just goes into our licensing check.
- 43:22But at the same time, you're affecting my brain because now
- 43:25what if this mom or dad or brother, sister, aunt, uncle
- 43:29comes to me and is like, Oh, you agreed on such and such topic
- 43:32and I'd be like, no, I that wasn't me, that was AI me.
- 43:38Like you're taking away from my brand personally.
- 43:41Like is AI that so far along where they follow me and granted
- 43:47our phones listen to us like everything I type that is
- 43:50related to my name? Is that all taken into my cloud
- 43:54to where that's how it's going to respond?
- 43:56Like let me get a trial run with this, like have somebody
- 43:59interact and let me approve of it.
- 44:01And if I'm OK with it, then I sign off on.
- 44:04It's like, that's why Barry Bonds was never in any video
- 44:07games or trading cards because he didn't sign with the PA
- 44:10because he wanted his own brain. You're affecting my brand
- 44:14because how the hell do I know what AI is going to say to this
- 44:18person? I'll go one further, Jabba.
- 44:21How does that help? It's.
- 44:21Creepy. It's creepy as hell.
- 44:24And who, who in their right mind that like so this 8 year old
- 44:27kid, I have a son, granted he's a sophomore in college, but say
- 44:32when he was 12 he wanted to talk to his favorite player.
- 44:35And it's like, oh, I can spend 100 bucks and you can talk to
- 44:38AI. Like I would be a shitty parent
- 44:41That is terrible. Like hey, you can talk to the
- 44:44fake him, but he looks like him and you're having a
- 44:46conversation. Like that's what we're creating
- 44:49for our children, no? Yeah, and Jabba, it's honestly
- 44:53like, it's probably like, oh, hello, I'm Jabba Chamberlain.
- 44:57Buy Upper Deck baseball cards, like giving you subliminal
- 45:00messages because they have partnerships.
- 45:03And I just keep thinking of that old South Park episode with like
- 45:06the the doll. And it's like keeps telling them
- 45:08to have Pearl Harbor with the subliminal messages because it's
- 45:11got its own brain. They have an ulterior motive.
- 45:14These AIS, man, I don't trust it for a second.
- 45:17I wouldn't want kids playing with it.
- 45:19I can't imagine a world. Like that man, it doesn't help
- 45:21podcasting either when when you get a chance to listen to your
- 45:24favorite player. And if you're if you're doing a
- 45:26podcast, are you going to go out there if somebody reaches out to
- 45:29you on the social media market and says, I reached out to you,
- 45:32is this you? And you're going to be like, no,
- 45:34I never said that. That was my AI, but how do you
- 45:36defend yourself? So OK, so let me let me present
- 45:40this question this for everybody.
- 45:43So still part of the association.
- 45:45What if somebody wants to interact with me?
- 45:50Are you going to let me know or you just sending me a check?
- 45:55I I guess that's something that they must have worked out.
- 45:57I can't wait, Jabba, to find that I'm sure we're going to end
- 46:01up talking about. This Rob Mansford.
- 46:03Deal. There might be a check that
- 46:04shows up from the PA and I'm like what the hell is this for
- 46:07Rob? Mansford, who knows man who
- 46:10knows. Just crazier than after the
- 46:13crazier. This was a crazy move.
- 46:15I don't know, I kept thinking of the legendary Boobie Miles when
- 46:19Lindsey Exactly and Boobie had a torn ACL when he wanted to go in
- 46:26and it did not go well for Boobie when he went in.
- 46:28It did not go well for Lindsey Vonn as she attempted to go
- 46:32downhill after like the first or second turn.
- 46:35She wiped out. Apparently she has a complex
- 46:40tibia fracture and is going to need multiple surgeries on top
- 46:45of the torn ACL. She ate it super hard.
- 46:49They had the helicopter off the the the course I guess and it
- 46:54took about 1/2 hour. Saw it earlier today.
- 46:57Pretty terrible. But you know, maybe you
- 47:00shouldn't be trying to compete in the Olympics with a torn ACL.
- 47:04You're not Kurt Angle with a broken frickin neck over here,
- 47:07Errol. Dial it up.
- 47:09First of all, that's one of the hardest downhill courses in the
- 47:12world, and one of the fastest. It's not even snow.
- 47:16And and and you have a torn ACL going into, you know, the
- 47:20practice turns and everybody his her coach was out there speaking
- 47:24for her and saying, oh, she looked good on a practice turn.
- 47:27When you're competing, you have to go faster and you know, you
- 47:30got to go faster. How did you think on a torn ACL
- 47:34she was going to be able to go down one of the hardest hills in
- 47:37in the whole world? It makes no sense.
- 47:40I knew it was going to be a catastrophe before it even
- 47:42happened. Brittany actually told me before
- 47:46you got a chance to see it at 5:30 in the morning that there
- 47:48was a whole big story that Lindsey, Lindsey Vonn fell down
- 47:52and almost killed herself. And it was horrible to watch,
- 47:55which she's an Olympic champion. She's such a great Samaritan,
- 47:59perfect person when it comes to the Olympic sports.
- 48:01And then a father came out and said my daughter should have
- 48:04never done this. She stay with and and I and he
- 48:07said he went out there today when she was speaking to one of
- 48:10Yahoo Sports is analyst and writer says you will never see
- 48:14my daughter compete in the Olympics ever again period.
- 48:18That's what he said. So it's a horrible story to see
- 48:20her go down the way she did. And the final thing you're going
- 48:22to remember of Lindsey Vonn is that absolute crash and being
- 48:27flying off the court flown off the course for the last time of
- 48:31her Olympic championship career. So it's just a horrible story.
- 48:34Yeah, it was an absolutely devastating injury for some.
- 48:37Obviously there's a lot of risk when you're already.
- 48:39Doing she's 41, too. For somebody, yeah.
- 48:41She started her first Olympics were in Vancouver in 2010, and
- 48:45she was. Younger than you, Errol.
- 48:46Yeah. Thank you, Jabba.
- 48:48Yeah, she had two World Championships, I believe that
- 48:50the two years before that. So 41 years old.
- 48:52It was obviously it timing it just it sucks with the happening
- 48:56right before the Olympics. It's always one of those
- 48:58unfortunate things. And for somebody that is 41
- 49:01years old and it's just trying to build on when it's already an
- 49:03amazing legacy that she has in skiing.
- 49:05And like you're saying, Errol, the slalom course is a is a
- 49:08tougher 1 1/2 with the with the flags, with the change in
- 49:11direction with those hills, it's, it's a lot more difficult
- 49:14for somebody like. It's like the second hardest
- 49:16course to to to to go downhill from in the world and she's and
- 49:21as fast as it is down the course she on a torn ACL.
- 49:25She thought she was going to get down there.
- 49:26Yeah, in in timely fashion, but. Being just with the years too,
- 49:30like you're not going to be able to compete in another Olympics
- 49:32again, so you get the incentive. We talk about with guests all
- 49:34the time, like it's so hard to give up the game that you love
- 49:36and the sport that you love. And that's obviously her head
- 49:39was saying, oh, she shouldn't compete in it.
- 49:41I'm having leg injuries and surgeries and all that stuff.
- 49:44She wasn't saying yeah, she. Wasn't 100% healthy and she was
- 49:47100% healthy. That's fine.
- 49:49It's Lindsey Vonn. Let her let her try to win
- 49:52another a bronze medal or a silver medal or a gold medal.
- 49:56She wasn't 100% healthy. She just had ACL surgery a year
- 50:00and a half ago and she's they before the tournament, before
- 50:03the preliminaries, they said that her other knee wasn't 100%
- 50:07healthy. If you know that in your coach
- 50:09knows that and he's being interviewed by all the media,
- 50:12why would you let her go out there and risk her life?
- 50:14Yeah. Somebody, an Italian downhill
- 50:18skater, a man's Italian skater, I mean a skier last what was it,
- 50:226-7 months ago, went downhill over there in that same downhill
- 50:27competition in a World Championships and died.
- 50:30Yeah, and there's been there was the US bobsled guy that died too
- 50:34and one of those training as well.
- 50:35It's very scary. A lot of those training
- 50:37facilities too. And the other thing, too, is, I
- 50:39mean, obviously the skiers looking up to her going to say,
- 50:43all right, we want your spot anyway, but that could have been
- 50:44a spot for somebody else to make their first Olympics, too.
- 50:46Like, if you knew that, if you knew that wasn't good.
- 50:48Yeah. But again, that's the dilemma.
- 50:49You run. It's your first Olympics.
- 50:50You wanted to. Say, and if it's and her father
- 50:53was a competitive skier, he was a great competitive skier.
- 50:57If he knew hers, her, his daughter wasn't 100% healthy,
- 51:00why would he let her go on that downhill and actually compete in
- 51:04the Olympics? I don't care if it's Lindsay
- 51:06Vonn, you're putting her at risk.
- 51:08She could have died. She could have died on that
- 51:11course. That was horrible to watch.
- 51:14And it's remember Lindsey Vonn going down like that, an Olympic
- 51:17champion. It's just horrible to see.
- 51:19Lot multiple surgeries may never.
- 51:21I mean, I'm assuming it never again ever changed from
- 51:23surgeries, You know, All right, last story of the night, guys,
- 51:26we made it. This one.
- 51:28I couldn't, I didn't realize this was happening to this
- 51:30extent. But Yasiel Quigg was found
- 51:34guilty of obstruction of justice.
- 51:37He's facing up to 20 years. He has been sentenced May 26th,
- 51:41but do you know what his defense was for obstructing justice?
- 51:45His lawyers claimed that when he pled guilty originally, he
- 51:51didn't mean to. He just has a third grade
- 51:55education and does not understand how to do these legal
- 52:02proceedings you speak of basically was their defense.
- 52:06He did not win shocker on that defense.
- 52:10He initially pled guilty to a felony charge of lying to
- 52:13federal agents investigating, of course, an illegal gambling
- 52:16operation. He took a plea in August of 2022
- 52:20after he acknowledged racking up about a quarter $1,000,000 in
- 52:23losses over just a few months. I pled guilty.
- 52:28Let's just say it didn't go well.
- 52:30He wanted to clear his name. I never should have agreed to
- 52:34plead guilty to a crime I did not commit.
- 52:36Well, the courts said he committed it.
- 52:39And I mean, regardless of the fact that he's probably going to
- 52:43jail for a while, probably won't be the full 20 years, but he's
- 52:45going to jail. This has got to be one of the
- 52:48dumbest offenses I've ever seen in my life.
- 52:51Errol, dial it up. Here's my question.
- 52:55If I was a serial killer and I didn't graduate from the third
- 52:59grade and I killed about 10-15 people, well, I didn't graduate
- 53:04from the third grade, so I guess I should be acquitted for
- 53:06everything. I'm not smart enough, so I
- 53:09killed everybody. I mean in the.
- 53:11Way you eat string cheese though string.
- 53:13Too. I killed string tree I I kill
- 53:15string cheese. So you're absolutely right.
- 53:17I, I, I mean, this is a horrible, terrible, dumb,
- 53:22ridiculous story. And I remember Yasiel Puig, he
- 53:25was a good player. I watched him play for the
- 53:27Dodgers and, and he bounced around at the tail end of his
- 53:30career. But the guy wasn't smart.
- 53:32He never was smart. Even when he spoke to the media,
- 53:34you couldn't understand him. And when he did, when you did
- 53:37understand him, it was like, it's like talking to a child.
- 53:40So maybe he didn't graduate from the third grade.
- 53:43That's fine. But when you come out and say,
- 53:45well, the reason why this all happened is because I didn't
- 53:47graduate from the third grade. It just tells me you're trying
- 53:50to hide more things and just show people that you're even
- 53:54Dumber than you. Look, I again, if I was a serial
- 53:58killer and I didn't graduate from the third grade and I
- 54:00killed 15 people. And the first thing that I say
- 54:04when I'm speaking to, you know, the judge and the jury and they
- 54:08asked me, well, why did you do this?
- 54:10Well, Judge, I killed 15 people because I didn't graduate from
- 54:14the third grade. I'm just, I'm stupid.
- 54:17What can I say, Judge? Let me go.
- 54:19I'll never do it again. I mean, we'll let anyone who
- 54:24wants to come in just jump in over the top.
- 54:26All I have to say about it is I work with kids that are special
- 54:30needs and have, you know, a third grade education.
- 54:33They understand right from wrong.
- 54:34They understand they wouldn't have done something like this,
- 54:36this ridiculous, ridiculous excuse.
- 54:40I I can't even believe it. He's probably he.
- 54:44I mean, I guess he deserves. What?
- 54:46I'm John Wayne Gacy. I'm John Wayne Casey.
- 54:49I killed over 30 something boys and I buried them in my garden
- 54:53and under in my basement, my crawl space and and they ask me,
- 54:58they interview me and they say, well John, why did you do this?
- 55:01Sorry Sir, I, I didn't graduate from the 2nd grade.
- 55:05I wasn't taught from right and wrong.
- 55:06I I'm sorry. Just let me go.
- 55:09I, I just killed 343435 boys. I mean, I'll never do it again,
- 55:14Sir, I promise I. Didn't know I couldn't do that.
- 55:17My bad. I'm.
- 55:18Sorry, I didn't know I couldn't kill people for a living.
- 55:21I don't know, yeah. Makes sense.
- 55:24Anyone got anything to add on this one?
- 55:26Because I mean otherwise. That's it for the night on
- 55:29another great episode of Dial It Up.
- 55:33Unbelievable. Unbelievable.
- 55:36Yasiel Puig. I mean, how stupid could you be?
- 55:39I mean, wow, I and honestly you. Know guess who's agent is?
- 55:44Who is it? Trevor Bauer's agent.
- 55:46There you go. I mean, Trevor's a nice dude
- 55:49too, by the way. Shut the front door, Joey it.
- 55:52Was nice. It was nice to me.
- 55:56I know Jabba don't like him. I didn't like him.
- 56:00I just, I just know more than I can say.
- 56:02I know, I know, I know, I know. He's not a good person, but he
- 56:08was nice to me. I mean, that's.
- 56:10It's the same thing I say about a rod, so I guess I can't be a
- 56:13hypocrite. That's true.
- 56:18Anyways, that's it for our show, ladies and gentlemen.

- 58:17listen to us and downloading us and, and just listening to the
- 58:20craziness or whatever the hell is going to come out of our
- 58:22mouths because we don't really know.
- 58:23This is not scripted. We just kind of go, we kind of
- 58:27have a, an, an outline of what's going to happen.
- 58:30We don't know if it's going to really happen.
- 58:32But no, just appreciate everybody, appreciate all you
- 58:34guys and your time and the hard work that everybody puts in.
- 58:36And it's going to be a fun year. That's all I can say.
- 58:40It is. And then congratulations to your
- 58:42son. He's he's got a chance to do
- 58:44some big things at a Hutch and then D1 baseball possibly.
- 58:48So I'm hoping for the best for your kid.
- 58:50And Carter has been a fan of our show and we're a fan of his and
- 58:53we only wish him the best. And we have a lot of great
- 58:56things coming up and we're going to.
- 58:58Announce the stuff, Oklahoma. There you go.
- 59:01So yeah, well, that's true too. But we have a lot of great

- 59:18Like, like Jabba says this, this show is not scripted.
- 59:22Everything we do is off the head.
- 59:24We don't know what's going to happen.
- 59:26And that's what makes us unique. We don't have people talking to
- 59:29us in our, you know, our ears giving us information before we
- 59:33speak. You know, it's, it's really just
- 59:35off the cuff. And that's what makes the the
- 59:37show very unique. And that's what makes us
- 59:39interesting to listen to. So thank you to all the fans.
