Transcript
- 0:05Speaker 1: Hello and welcome to Outspoken. It's your dose of the
- 0:08Speaker 1: hottest influencer and pop culture news twice a week. I'm
- 0:12Speaker 1: Sophie Torber and coming up on today's show, Matt Zukowski's
- 0:15Speaker 1: shocking first date. The nominees for the 2025 TikTok Awards
- 0:20Speaker 1: are unveiled and Molly May admits to having ongoing trust
- 0:24Speaker 1: issues in her relationships. But first, Chloe Zepp has revealed
- 0:28Speaker 1: her son's pet snake has gone missing. The OG influencer
- 0:32Speaker 1: joked her house was for sale after the python escaped
- 0:35Speaker 1: from the garage earlier this week. I feel on edge
- 0:38Speaker 1: just thinking about this situation. It's not even my house.
- 0:42Speaker 1: The snake in question is fortunately not venomous though, but
- 0:45Speaker 1: is known to bite. So this thing's already bitten the children. Well,
- 0:48Speaker 1: it has. Awkwardly, Chloe and Mitch revealed, I think it
- 0:51Speaker 1: was last month, that the snake had bitten Artie. So
- 0:54Speaker 1: they got it for Artie's fifth birthday and they documented
- 0:58Speaker 1: the moment where they surprised him with the snake. Now,
- 1:01Speaker 1: just to refresh your memories, he's five years old. And
- 1:04Speaker 1: as someone who hates snakes, this freaked me out. So
- 1:07Speaker 1: Mitch came in with this little bag with the snake
- 1:10Speaker 1: in it. And you could tell Chloe was ultra uncomfortable.
- 1:13Speaker 1: She even said she was a little bit scared. And
- 1:15Speaker 1: then he gets Artie to pick the snake out of
- 1:18Speaker 1: the bag while his little brother, Sonny, is screaming and
- 1:21Speaker 1: carrying on. I'm like, surely this is not good for
- 1:23Speaker 1: the snake. I assume that this snake is going to
- 1:25Speaker 1: appear in the family's new YouTube channel because they recently
- 1:28Speaker 1: announced that they're going to have an adventure YouTube account. Well,
- 1:32Speaker 1: maybe they're documenting this whole thing. I mean, the snake
- 1:35Speaker 1: can't really be in the channel if it's gone missing
- 1:37Speaker 1: because Chloe said she had searched everywhere for Firebolt, that's
- 1:41Speaker 1: its name, and it was nowhere to be seen. Do
- 1:43Speaker 1: you reckon this snake's really gone missing or maybe Chloe
- 1:45Speaker 1: and Mitch have got rid of it? Well, the snake
- 1:47Speaker 1: didn't really look happy living in their house because Mitch
- 1:50Speaker 1: shared this clip of Artie wanting to say goodnight to it.
- 1:52Speaker 1: And he got this little set of keys out to
- 1:54Speaker 1: open the door to give it a pat or something.
- 1:57Speaker 1: And Mitch zoomed up and the snake was literally posed
- 2:00Speaker 1: to strike. And Artie was like, oh, he doesn't, he's
- 2:03Speaker 1: all coiled up. I don't think I should pat him.
- 2:04Speaker 1: I'm thinking, oh my God, don't pat him at all. Yeah,
- 2:07Speaker 1: I think if this was my child's pet, I'd be like, oh, sorry.
- 2:11Speaker 1: They've gone off to live at a farm somewhere far,
- 2:14Speaker 1: far away because, oh, my God, I couldn't think of
- 2:16Speaker 1: anything worse. I mean, it's not ideal that the snake
- 2:19Speaker 1: is just loose in the house now. Like, God knows
- 2:21Speaker 1: what it's plotting.
- 2:23Speaker 2: Good morning, Anna. We're just having some off-air chats which
- 2:27Speaker 2: can stay off-air. Where's your head up?
- 2:32Speaker 1: Matt Sikowski has hosed down speculation that he's moved on
- 2:36Speaker 1: from his ex-wife, Tammy Hembrough, confirming on his podcast that
- 2:39Speaker 1: he's still single. The revelation comes less than two weeks
- 2:43Speaker 1: after a photo of him on a date in Adelaide
- 2:45Speaker 1: went viral. Kate, it seems like Matt was left just
- 2:48Speaker 1: as surprised as everyone else by the hard launch. Yeah,
- 2:51Speaker 1: it's pretty awkward because it turns out that he and
- 2:53Speaker 1: Adelaide girl Emily Lawson were on a first date. So
- 2:57Speaker 1: to refresh everyone's memories, the internet went into overdrive when
- 3:01Speaker 1: photos emerged of Matt doing a mirror selfie in front
- 3:04Speaker 1: of an elevator with normie Emily. Now, it was actually
- 3:07Speaker 1: Emily who posted the selfie to her public Instagram story
- 3:11Speaker 1: alongside photos of their dinner and also a video of
- 3:14Speaker 1: fireworks from a rooftop bar. Influencer Updates AU first broke
- 3:19Speaker 1: the story after receiving a tip off from someone who
- 3:21Speaker 1: saw Emily's story. And it was pretty clear that Emily
- 3:25Speaker 1: and her friends were very excited to be part of
- 3:26Speaker 1: the influencer goss. Heaps of them were commenting on subsequent
- 3:30Speaker 1: social media stories about it and tagging Emily. We reckon
- 3:33Speaker 1: that Emily sent it in herself. Well, I feel like
- 3:37Speaker 1: the more I hear about it, it could be a possibility.
- 3:39Speaker 1: I mean, who takes a picture together on the first date?
- 3:43Speaker 1: I'm putting it out there. I have never, ever taken
- 3:45Speaker 1: a photo on a first date. I wouldn't take a
- 3:48Speaker 1: photo with someone until we were official, and I definitely
- 3:51Speaker 1: wouldn't be posting it all over Instagram. I mean, this
- 3:53Speaker 1: wasn't a little soft launch where maybe you post that
- 3:56Speaker 1: you're out and about and you have their arm in
- 3:57Speaker 1: the shot. This was a full-blown selfie with him.
- 4:00Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:00Speaker 1: I mean, I thought the same thing about it being
- 4:02Speaker 1: weird taking a photo on the first date, but according
- 4:05Speaker 1: to Matt's co-host, Anna McAvoy, she thinks it's quite normal,
- 4:08Speaker 1: and she said that she always takes a photo on
- 4:11Speaker 1: the first date just in case they end up together.
- 4:14Speaker 1: She actually has one from her first date with her husband, Michael. Yeah,
- 4:17Speaker 1: but there's also a difference between taking a photo and
- 4:20Speaker 1: also making that photo public. One, it would be embarrassing
- 4:24Speaker 1: for the person you're on the date with to see
- 4:26Speaker 1: said photo on your Instagram because it's like you're telling everyone, oh, look,
- 4:29Speaker 1: we're dating. And secondly, when the person has a public
- 4:32Speaker 1: profile and they've only just broken up with their wife,
- 4:35Speaker 1: you think you might be a bit careful about sharing that.
- 4:37Speaker 1: It seems like a bit of clout chasing is going on.
- 4:39Speaker 1: I think you're right. I mean, initially when I saw it,
- 4:42Speaker 1: I was like, oh, okay, the fact that Emily Lawson
- 4:45Speaker 1: felt confident enough to upload the photo. I was like,
- 4:48Speaker 1: surely this is something quite serious, not a first date.
- 4:50Speaker 1: He's come out to see her in Adelaide, you know,
- 4:52Speaker 1: they're doing long distance or something. But listening to Matt,
- 4:55Speaker 1: I got the vibe that it was a first and
- 4:58Speaker 1: last date and I don't really blame him. I would
- 5:00Speaker 1: probably be questioning someone's motives if they did that on
- 5:03Speaker 1: a first date. Well, on a recent podcast he was on,
- 5:05Speaker 1: he was asked about how he finds dating now that
- 5:08Speaker 1: he has a public profile and whether he has to
- 5:10Speaker 1: be careful about people using him for fame. evidently it
- 5:14Speaker 1: sounds like he does have to be a bit more careful.
- 5:16Speaker 1: It would be strange for Matt to be on the
- 5:18Speaker 1: other side of things now because Tammy Hembrough basically called
- 5:20Speaker 1: him a clout chaser herself on a podcast interview last week. So,
- 5:24Speaker 1: you know, it seems to come around in full circles.
- 5:27Speaker 1: Listening to the podcast, it was clear that Matt had
- 5:29Speaker 1: had this massive debrief off mic about the whole situation
- 5:32Speaker 1: with Anna because he said he's been dropping bombs off air.
- 5:36Speaker 1: I'm very sad that they edited those conversations out because
- 5:38Speaker 1: I would have loved to hear them In terms of
- 5:41Speaker 1: what they did share on air about the situation, you
- 5:43Speaker 1: could tell Anna was completely shocked when the photos emerged.
- 5:46Speaker 1: Let's take a listen to what she said.
- 5:48Speaker 2: We need to talk. Yeah, right.
- 5:52Speaker 3: Because me, the sleep-deprived mum, was just looking on my phone.
- 6:00Speaker 3: I think I'm pretty sure it was in the middle
- 6:01Speaker 3: of the night and I hadn't been on my phone
- 6:04Speaker 3: like the day before. And then all of a sudden
- 6:06Speaker 3: I see so much smoke. garbage on the internet i'm
- 6:11Speaker 3: just gonna call it garbage yeah and everyone's like that's
- 6:14Speaker 3: hard launch.
- 6:18Speaker 1: Excuse me what wait i know that you were in
- 6:21Speaker 1: adelaide i know that you were going on a first
- 6:24Speaker 1: date how have we gone from you telling me you're
- 6:26Speaker 1: going on a first date to now there's a hard
- 6:28Speaker 1: launch out.
- 6:29Speaker 2: There yeah i yeah i was shook as well i
- 6:33Speaker 2: actually woke up and saw that i that as well
- 6:35Speaker 2: and i was like hang on wait what i was
- 6:37Speaker 2: i didn't hard launch anyone um No. So I was
- 6:40Speaker 2: in Adelaide on getting some business done. And while I
- 6:43Speaker 2: was there, I was like, I'll catch up with a friend.
- 6:46Speaker 2: So we went out for dinner. Really nice. Adelaide's actually
- 6:49Speaker 2: a really nice place. It's beautiful.
- 6:52Speaker 1: A little bit off track, but it was really nice
- 6:54Speaker 1: to hear both Matt and Anna talk so glowingly of Adelaide.
- 6:56Speaker 1: It was quite rare from Victorians. It is. I related
- 7:00Speaker 1: to Anna saying that she's going through a four-month regression
- 7:02Speaker 1: at the moment, and it took her days to even
- 7:05Speaker 1: see the news of this hard launch happen. And in
- 7:07Speaker 1: the midst of a late night wake up call, she
- 7:10Speaker 1: saw it. It sort of reminded me of when I
- 7:12Speaker 1: first saw the news of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsey
- 7:15Speaker 1: getting together only because I was up at 3am to
- 7:17Speaker 1: see that news be broken live. She was a bit
- 7:19Speaker 1: later to it, the story though.
- 7:21Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:21Speaker 1: It seems like with newborn schedules, you're either the first
- 7:24Speaker 1: or last to hear about this type of pop culture news.
- 7:27Speaker 1: I'd love to know the conversation Matt had with his date, Emily,
- 7:31Speaker 1: after her Instagram story made headlines. I'm guessing he thought
- 7:35Speaker 1: she was never going to post it because he explained
- 7:37Speaker 1: that the photo got snapped while he and Emily were
- 7:39Speaker 1: waiting at the lifts to go to the second rooftop
- 7:42Speaker 1: bar that they had visited. Anna did make a bit
- 7:44Speaker 1: of a dig saying that that photo should have been
- 7:46Speaker 1: kept on her close friends list, which I tend to agree.
- 7:49Speaker 1: It was clear that Matt wanted to clear things up
- 7:52Speaker 1: and let the world know that he's single. This is
- 7:54Speaker 1: what he said.
- 7:54Speaker 2: Yeah, I woke up the next day and we'd hard launched.
- 8:00Speaker 1: LAUGHTER Which is not the case.
- 8:05Speaker 2: Not the case at all. But yeah, it was pretty
- 8:07Speaker 2: funny to see.
- 8:08Speaker 1: So she just put it in her story and then
- 8:11Speaker 1: it got taken.
- 8:12Speaker 2: Got taken. And yeah. No, people work fast in this industry.
- 8:16Speaker 2: They see something and they run with it and it
- 8:17Speaker 2: gets legs. And look, I'm actually going to say I
- 8:20Speaker 2: really appreciate some of the kind messages I got about it.
- 8:24Speaker 2: But sorry, guys.
- 8:26Speaker 3: Still single.
- 8:26Speaker 2: Still single. It was not that at all. But very
- 8:29Speaker 2: nice girl as well. Very nice.
- 8:30Speaker 1: Had a nice day. I wonder if Matt's got a
- 8:32Speaker 1: few girls on the roster who were like, what the fuck,
- 8:35Speaker 1: when they saw the photo. I feel like that would
- 8:37Speaker 1: be a big motivator to clear the rumors up. I
- 8:40Speaker 1: also think in terms of how he's faring since the divorce,
- 8:43Speaker 1: as we've touched on before, he has this new puppy
- 8:46Speaker 1: dog energy about him. People seem to be liking Matt.
- 8:49Speaker 1: He's receiving a lot of apologies. And he probably wants
- 8:53Speaker 1: to not look like he's moved on too quick and
- 8:55Speaker 1: is mindful of that. Yeah, well, in yesterday's episode of
- 8:57Speaker 1: Where's Your Head At, they're doing this thing where they dissect,
- 9:00Speaker 1: and I use that term loosely, some headlines. And one
- 9:03Speaker 1: of the headlines they chose to discuss was one about
- 9:05Speaker 1: Matt caught out crying after Tammy was found to be
- 9:09Speaker 1: the ambassador for Tinder. And he's like, oh my God,
- 9:12Speaker 1: this is completely false. I actually was crying because I
- 9:15Speaker 1: watched a movie about a golden retriever. And he was saying,
- 9:19Speaker 1: I definitely was not crying about Tammy Hembrough. So He
- 9:22Speaker 1: seems more and more comfortable to talk about the situation.
- 9:25Speaker 1: I mean, he didn't name it. They just kept saying
- 9:27Speaker 1: his ex-wife, but I think it is only a matter
- 9:29Speaker 1: of time before we hear a full breakdown of what's
- 9:32Speaker 1: going on. Guys, did I mention that I've been nominated
- 9:37Speaker 1: for TikTok creator of the year? The nominees for the
- 9:41Speaker 1: 2025 TikTok creator of the year are in and Tammy
- 9:45Speaker 1: Hembrough is the front runner. Did that surprise you? It Yeah,
- 9:49Speaker 1: because I don't really think of her as being a
- 9:50Speaker 1: TikToker as such. I just think of her as being
- 9:53Speaker 1: an all-round influencer, if that makes sense. I think that
- 9:56Speaker 1: on TikTok there's a lot of different niches and she's
- 9:58Speaker 1: just sort of a personality, if that makes sense.
- 10:00Speaker 2: Sense.
- 10:00Speaker 1: I get what you mean, but she does have over
- 10:02Speaker 1: 2 million followers on the platform and she posts very
- 10:04Speaker 1: different content than she does on Instagram. I mean, she
- 10:07Speaker 1: didn't even post her divorce announcement on Instagram. That was
- 10:10Speaker 1: purely on TikTok. Yeah, but when you think about people
- 10:13Speaker 1: who've won in the past, like Anna Paul or Indi Clinton,
- 10:16Speaker 1: they've really made a name for themselves on TikTok through
- 10:19Speaker 1: sharing everyday vlogs, whereas she made a name for herself
- 10:23Speaker 1: obviously on Instagram 10, 15 years ago. Yeah, but in
- 10:27Speaker 1: saying that, having a big following on Instagram doesn't promise
- 10:30Speaker 1: you a big following on TikTok. There are so many creators,
- 10:33Speaker 1: just off the top of my head, Sarah's Day, Steph
- 10:35Speaker 1: Clare Smith, who do not have the same following that
- 10:38Speaker 1: they do on TikTok as they do on Instagram. In
- 10:41Speaker 1: saying that, I suppose Tammy has around 17, 18 million
- 10:44Speaker 1: followers on Instagram and only 2 million on TikTok. But
- 10:48Speaker 1: I think her videos are cutting through. I mean, they
- 10:50Speaker 1: get millions and millions of views. Yeah, well, as you said, Kate,
- 10:53Speaker 1: she always seems to be dropping bombs on there. Yeah,
- 10:55Speaker 1: I mean, I think she's definitely going to win this
- 10:58Speaker 1: award just looking at her following against the other nominees.
- 11:02Speaker 1: The only one I'm actually familiar with is Letitia Clark.
- 11:05Speaker 1: Her mum is Kat Clark, who won the award three
- 11:07Speaker 1: years ago. But I think Tammy is a definite shoe in.
- 11:11Speaker 1: It is voted on by the public and she's already
- 11:13Speaker 1: put the call out on her Instagram page saying you
- 11:15Speaker 1: can vote once a day. I wonder though if some
- 11:18Speaker 1: of the smaller creators... have more of an invested community
- 11:22Speaker 1: of people who want to see them do well. Quite often,
- 11:24Speaker 1: people don't really want to see the big dog win.
- 11:26Speaker 1: And Tammy feels like the big dog in this situation. Yeah,
- 11:28Speaker 1: but I think TikTok probably want her to win. And
- 11:30Speaker 1: of course, they're in charge of the algorithm. So her
- 11:33Speaker 1: video promoting the link to vote for her might appear
- 11:36Speaker 1: to a lot more people than the other nominees. Who knows?
- 11:39Speaker 1: But I definitely think we'll see her accepting the award.
- 11:42Speaker 1: It's interesting. It was only a couple of weeks ago
- 11:44Speaker 1: that Indy Clinton opened up about that viral moment of
- 11:48Speaker 1: her and Anna Paul presenting Creator of the Year. It
- 11:52Speaker 1: was an absolute schmuzzle. So for those who missed it,
- 11:55Speaker 1: let's throw to it.
- 11:56Speaker 3: Of 2024.
- 11:57Speaker 2: TikTok-a-whiz.
- 11:59Speaker 1: Okay. It is... Ready to go! There were absolute crickets after,
- 12:10Speaker 1: weren't there? It was all very awkward. And Indy opened
- 12:13Speaker 1: up about the experience on the Happy Hour podcast with
- 12:16Speaker 1: Lucy and Nikki a couple of weeks ago. And it
- 12:18Speaker 1: turns out that Anna Paul had been chosen over Indy
- 12:21Speaker 1: to present the award. And that was despite the fact
- 12:24Speaker 1: that Indy won the year prior. So as the winner,
- 12:27Speaker 1: you then get the honor of presenting the new winner
- 12:29Speaker 1: with their award. Yeah, Indy said she'd been looking forward
- 12:32Speaker 1: to having that moment on stage. And she was actually
- 12:34Speaker 1: one of the hosts of the awards alongside Robert Irwin
- 12:37Speaker 1: and Kat Clark. And so last minute, it seems like
- 12:40Speaker 1: the event organizers were like, okay, you can go on
- 12:43Speaker 1: stage with Anna Paul. Reading between the lines, it seems
- 12:46Speaker 1: like Anna Paul dropped past the rehearsals briefly for around 10,
- 12:50Speaker 1: 15 minutes, but that wasn't long enough for them to
- 12:53Speaker 1: actually rehearse the moment. Indy had been there all day.
- 12:57Speaker 1: So minutes before the award was presented, Indy was like
- 13:00Speaker 1: quickly whispering to Anna, like, let's make it more dramatic,
- 13:03Speaker 1: add pauses. but Anna ended up reading straight from the autocue.
- 13:07Speaker 1: Do you reckon the indie feels safe now to tell
- 13:08Speaker 1: that story considering the huge cancellation of Anna Paul this year?
- 13:12Speaker 1: Because before she was seen as the sweetheart of TikTok
- 13:15Speaker 1: and people would have come for her to hear anything negative. Yeah,
- 13:18Speaker 1: I definitely think so. I mean, it was actually at
- 13:20Speaker 1: the 2024 TikTok awards that the crack started appearing for
- 13:24Speaker 1: Anna Paul. Remember she was on the red carpet and
- 13:26Speaker 1: she said this really tone deaf comment when they asked
- 13:28Speaker 1: her like, Who would you want to be? Like, what
- 13:30Speaker 1: creator would you want to be? And she's like, oh,
- 13:32Speaker 1: someone that has lots of money and flies around the world.
- 13:34Speaker 1: I'm like, isn't that you already? I wonder if she's
- 13:37Speaker 1: actually going to show up this year. It could be
- 13:40Speaker 1: a bit of a rebranding exercise for her.
- 13:42Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:43Speaker 1: Well, we have to wait until Wednesday, the 26th of
- 13:45Speaker 1: November to see if that happens. The awards are being
- 13:48Speaker 1: hosted in Sydney. This year, Sophie Monk is the host.
- 13:52Speaker 1: She is about to start hosting Love Island Australia. Are
- 13:56Speaker 1: you going to watch that? I'm not really a big
- 13:58Speaker 1: fan of the Aussie version. I prefer to watch the
- 14:00Speaker 1: UK Love Island. That being said, the UK version has
- 14:03Speaker 1: been pretty disappointing in recent years. And a lot of
- 14:06Speaker 1: people sent us DMs saying, oh my God, last year
- 14:08Speaker 1: the Australian version was epic. You need to watch it
- 14:10Speaker 1: again this year. Hang on. Love Island this year was
- 14:13Speaker 1: really good. What are you talking about? It wasn't as good. Yes,
- 14:16Speaker 1: it was. I don't think it was. To be fair,
- 14:18Speaker 1: it was a little bit better. But I've watched so
- 14:20Speaker 1: many all-stars which have been disappointing. Yeah, they're not good. Look,
- 14:23Speaker 1: I actually feel like it's a moment for you to
- 14:25Speaker 1: eat your words because a couple of weeks ago, you
- 14:28Speaker 1: were absolutely ripping into me about watching The Block. You're
- 14:31Speaker 1: finally watching it and are loving it. Yeah, it's my
- 14:34Speaker 1: relaxation show now. Brandon and I, as soon as Luke
- 14:37Speaker 1: has been put to bed, we quickly put The Block
- 14:38Speaker 1: on for a couple of hours because we have all
- 14:41Speaker 1: of the episodes to catch up on. I'm so jealous.
- 14:43Speaker 1: I love it. I haven't watched free-to-air television for a while.
- 14:48Speaker 1: And yes, it can be a bit overproduced and dramatic,
- 14:51Speaker 1: but It's sort of the trash that I need at
- 14:53Speaker 1: the moment. And I kind of like, it sounds weird,
- 14:55Speaker 1: but I like that it's got ads because you've got
- 14:57Speaker 1: your time where you can be on your phone and
- 14:58Speaker 1: then you can put it back down. I'm really interested
- 15:00Speaker 1: to see how the block auctions go on Sunday night
- 15:03Speaker 1: because my dad, who also watches it, was telling me
- 15:07Speaker 1: that there are some whispers that the houses aren't going
- 15:10Speaker 1: to sell. Because they're just far too expensive for the
- 15:12Speaker 1: Daylesford market. Maybe we'll have to do a full block recap.
- 15:15Speaker 1: Look at me absolutely eating my words here now.
- 15:17Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 15:18Speaker 1: So many people messaged us saying that they love it.
- 15:19Speaker 1: So I was like, oh, okay, maybe I have to
- 15:21Speaker 1: give it a go. Yeah, I'm going to put it
- 15:22Speaker 1: out there. If the houses end up selling, I'm tipping
- 15:26Speaker 1: Brit and Taz for the win.
- 15:28Speaker 2: It's just this like shadow of the past that will
- 15:31Speaker 2: always just, sounds really deep, but like kind of come
- 15:33Speaker 2: back and like haunt us a bit.
- 15:35Speaker 1: The second series of Molly Mae's docuseries, Behind It All,
- 15:38Speaker 1: has shone a light on the current state of her
- 15:40Speaker 1: relationship with boxer Tommy Fury. Whilst the couple rekindled their
- 15:44Speaker 1: relationship earlier this year, the UK influencer admits she has
- 15:48Speaker 1: ongoing trust issues and is haunted by ghosts of the past.
- 15:52Speaker 1: Before we dive into that, Soph, I want to hear
- 15:54Speaker 1: your thoughts on the docuseries as a whole. I loved
- 15:57Speaker 1: every second of this. I don't think it will surprise anyone.
- 15:59Speaker 1: As a Molly Mae stan, I couldn't get enough of it.
- 16:03Speaker 1: It was this real cross between a fly on the
- 16:04Speaker 1: wall reality show and a documentary series. I think that
- 16:08Speaker 1: they managed to get that cozy day-to-day vibe that Molly
- 16:12Speaker 1: has in her vlogs whilst also having just the right
- 16:15Speaker 1: level of drama and conflict to get you hooked. I
- 16:17Speaker 1: feel like a terrible Molly Mae fan because I need
- 16:19Speaker 1: to call myself out. I actually haven't watched a single
- 16:22Speaker 1: second of it. I've seen a few reviews of it
- 16:25Speaker 1: on TikTok and people have been saying, oh, it's no good.
- 16:28Speaker 1: Like she's not likable. She's really out of touch. And
- 16:31Speaker 1: that's rattled me because I'm like, I loved the first
- 16:34Speaker 1: series of it. And I've actually been waiting to make
- 16:36Speaker 1: a bit of a night of it and watch it
- 16:37Speaker 1: with some nice snacks. I just haven't had that moment
- 16:40Speaker 1: so far. Yeah, but this show was literally made for
- 16:43Speaker 1: Molly Mae Stans. It wasn't made for the critics. And
- 16:46Speaker 1: I think that people are being particularly critical of it
- 16:48Speaker 1: now that it won, or the previous series won an award.
- 16:51Speaker 1: I think also because it's a docu-series, like people are
- 16:54Speaker 1: taking it too seriously and like, oh, this isn't a
- 16:57Speaker 1: David Attenborough documentary. It's like, no, it's just behind the
- 17:00Speaker 1: scenes of her life. Like it's a documentary of her life.
- 17:03Speaker 1: It's sort of an elevated version of her vlogs because
- 17:06Speaker 1: it does really show her day-to-day life. And it really
- 17:09Speaker 1: goes into her experiences with motherhood and also her business ventures.
- 17:14Speaker 1: And of course, the ups and downs of her relationship
- 17:16Speaker 1: with Tommy, which everyone wanted to find out about. See,
- 17:19Speaker 1: I think there's not as much hype about this series
- 17:22Speaker 1: as there was the first series because There was still
- 17:24Speaker 1: a lot of question marks about the status of Tommy
- 17:26Speaker 1: and Molly's relationship, whereas we now know they're back together.
- 17:31Speaker 1: And personally, I'm not that interested in Molly's brand, maybe.
- 17:34Speaker 1: I like the second series better than the first so far,
- 17:37Speaker 1: because I think there was a lot of padding happening
- 17:40Speaker 1: with the maybe content. We were expecting to hear a
- 17:42Speaker 1: lot about Molly and Tommy's relationship, but instead, we got
- 17:46Speaker 1: this whole brand opportunity and the brand pushed down our throats,
- 17:50Speaker 1: whereas It feels more organic when the brand has been
- 17:53Speaker 1: mentioned so far in these first three episodes. I wonder
- 17:55Speaker 1: if it was a case of they filmed all this
- 17:57Speaker 1: content that didn't make Tommy look very good. And then
- 17:59Speaker 1: suddenly Molly and him got back together and they couldn't
- 18:02Speaker 1: use it. Like it didn't make sense in the story arc.
- 18:04Speaker 1: It's interesting though, because in this latest series, the relationship
- 18:08Speaker 1: with Tommy and Molly doesn't really look very rock solid,
- 18:11Speaker 1: does it? Yeah. In this latest series, she hinted that
- 18:13Speaker 1: there are continuing trust issues between her and Tommy and
- 18:17Speaker 1: And this was made very apparent when she went on
- 18:19Speaker 1: a beach holiday to Wales with her best friend and
- 18:21Speaker 1: their two kids. So while she was away with Bambi,
- 18:24Speaker 1: Tommy was back home in Manchester celebrating the release of
- 18:27Speaker 1: his BBC documentary with his mates. And I wonder if
- 18:30Speaker 1: Molly purposely went away during the launch of his doco
- 18:32Speaker 1: so there weren't heaps of questions about where she was.
- 18:35Speaker 1: So she could just say, oh, I've had this pre-booked before.
- 18:38Speaker 1: That's why I'm not on the red carpet with him. Well,
- 18:40Speaker 1: they did end up having quite an awkward exchange over
- 18:43Speaker 1: the phone. Let's throw to that clip. No, it's just frustrating.
- 18:46Speaker 1: I just feel like you know things that are going
- 18:48Speaker 1: to rile me up, Tommy.
- 18:49Speaker 2: You think I don't know you after six years.
- 18:51Speaker 1: What are you talking about? I'll speak to you another time.
- 18:55Speaker 1: And that's that. Molly ended up hanging up on Tommy
- 18:59Speaker 1: and told the cameras that she doesn't want to be
- 19:01Speaker 1: a bore and Tommy should be able to do his thing.
- 19:04Speaker 1: That gave me the vibe that Tommy has been gaslighting
- 19:07Speaker 1: her because... I think she's well within her rights to
- 19:10Speaker 1: be nervous about the fact that he's going to be
- 19:12Speaker 1: out partying with his friends and there's alcohol around. Because
- 19:16Speaker 1: at the end of the last series, while she took
- 19:18Speaker 1: him back, there seemed to be really no resolution about
- 19:21Speaker 1: his behavior and nothing had seemed to change that much.
- 19:24Speaker 1: It was just sort of like, oh, we're back together
- 19:26Speaker 1: because we love each other. Well, it was evident that
- 19:28Speaker 1: he was on the piss there because she admitted that
- 19:30Speaker 1: hearing the word alcohol made her tense. I mean, we
- 19:32Speaker 1: didn't actually hear Tommy's side of the conversation. He has
- 19:36Speaker 1: only appeared in this documentary once. as a pop-up on FaceTime.
- 19:39Speaker 1: He didn't actually appear on camera. Well, I wonder if
- 19:42Speaker 1: it's because of his own documentary on the BBC. Maybe
- 19:45Speaker 1: they've said you can't appear on the Prime one. Well,
- 19:48Speaker 1: it's interesting because a lot of people are reading into this.
- 19:50Speaker 1: line that Molly said she said that she's haunted by
- 19:52Speaker 1: ghosts of the past now there were a lot of
- 19:54Speaker 1: rumors when she and Tommy broke up that he had
- 19:57Speaker 1: cheated on her and there was actually also a rumor
- 19:59Speaker 1: that he got a girl pregnant now that that was
- 20:01Speaker 1: actually bullshit that one But people are saying, well, has
- 20:04Speaker 1: he cheated? If you're saying you're being haunted by ghosts
- 20:06Speaker 1: of the past and there's these ongoing trust issues. I
- 20:09Speaker 1: don't think that you can have a docu-series like this
- 20:12Speaker 1: if you're not going to be completely honest about the
- 20:14Speaker 1: whole situation. Like, yes, it was very brave of Tommy
- 20:17Speaker 1: to share about his issues with alcohol, but I almost
- 20:20Speaker 1: feel like it was used as a little bit of
- 20:21Speaker 1: an excuse to cover up anything else that has gone
- 20:24Speaker 1: down between them because it's clear there are still issues
- 20:26Speaker 1: there that haven't been resolved.
- 20:28Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 20:28Speaker 1: I can see why they haven't wanted to touch on
- 20:30Speaker 1: it considering they have got back together though. What was
- 20:33Speaker 1: very clear is just how tough this breakup has been
- 20:36Speaker 1: on Molly. She said that she suffered panic attacks and
- 20:38Speaker 1: made the decision to go on anti-anxiety medication. So she's
- 20:42Speaker 1: now on beta blockers, which essentially slow her heart rate
- 20:45Speaker 1: down and also lower her blood pressure. Now, a clip
- 20:48Speaker 1: of Molly's manager, Fran, has gone viral. Basically, she's giving
- 20:51Speaker 1: her a right bollocking about not creating promotional content for
- 20:55Speaker 1: a brand, which was pretty surprising because Molly May is
- 20:57Speaker 1: one of the UK's biggest influencers, and I think she
- 21:01Speaker 1: does brand content very well. Well, this actually happened on
- 21:04Speaker 1: the same beach trip. So Molly forgot to bring the
- 21:06Speaker 1: product with her. And instead of being upfront with Fran,
- 21:10Speaker 1: she actually had previously lied to Fran and said that
- 21:12Speaker 1: she'd already shot it. And then she disappeared for three
- 21:15Speaker 1: days and didn't answer any of Fran's calls. So as
- 21:17Speaker 1: you said, Kate, Fran went ballistic. She is a bit
- 21:20Speaker 1: of a ball breaker. She was not happy. they showed
- 21:23Speaker 1: her on FaceTime and she told Molly that she'd let
- 21:26Speaker 1: people down and that it's not like her. And it
- 21:29Speaker 1: was just really awkward. So Molly ended up having to
- 21:32Speaker 1: pack up all of their stuff, leave this trip early.
- 21:36Speaker 1: And she actually said to the camera crew, look, I
- 21:37Speaker 1: know that you want to capture the chaos of us
- 21:40Speaker 1: packing everything up, but we're not going to get out
- 21:42Speaker 1: of here on time if you don't help. So everyone
- 21:43Speaker 1: put the cameras down. But yeah, it did seem a
- 21:46Speaker 1: bit out of character for her. And Fran was saying, oh,
- 21:49Speaker 1: I'm just worried that you're too burnt out, Molly. You're
- 21:52Speaker 1: trying to be the best partner you can be, the
- 21:54Speaker 1: best mom that you can be, the best business owner.
- 21:56Speaker 1: And there's cracks appearing. It was also an interesting insight
- 21:59Speaker 1: into Molly's relationship with Fran. They have referred to each
- 22:03Speaker 1: other as their best friends. Molly was a bridesmaid in
- 22:05Speaker 1: Fran's wedding, but clearly the foundation of their friendship is business.
- 22:09Speaker 1: And Fran has to have these tough conversations with her
- 22:13Speaker 1: I mean, she's wanting her 10% cut, isn't she? I mean,
- 22:16Speaker 1: I'm sure the brand deal was massive.
- 22:17Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 22:18Speaker 1: Well, something else we learned in this doco is that
- 22:20Speaker 1: Molly and Tommy are still living separately. So right before
- 22:24Speaker 1: their breakup, they purchased a home, which they dubbed their
- 22:27Speaker 1: forever home. It sounds like it's a ridiculous mansion. And
- 22:31Speaker 1: they were actually set to move in, but then suddenly
- 22:33Speaker 1: broke up. And Tommy ended up moving into that brand
- 22:36Speaker 1: new house, whereas Molly still lives in the house. I think,
- 22:39Speaker 1: is it called? Molly Mason, is that what they call
- 22:41Speaker 1: the house?
- 22:41Speaker 2: Maison.
- 22:42Speaker 1: Maison, sorry. And since then, Bambi has been going between
- 22:46Speaker 1: the two houses. And Molly admitted that despite the couple
- 22:49Speaker 1: now being back together, Bambi probably feels like her parents
- 22:53Speaker 1: are living these very separate lives. And in this scene
- 22:56Speaker 1: with her sister Zoe, whose side note we need more
- 22:59Speaker 1: of in the documentary because she was really the standout star. Well,
- 23:02Speaker 1: I wonder if she has purposely recruited a little bit
- 23:06Speaker 1: after getting backlash for being too in Molly's business and
- 23:09Speaker 1: also She didn't hide the fact that she's not Tommy
- 23:11Speaker 1: Fury's biggest fan in the first series. So now that
- 23:13Speaker 1: they're back together, she's taken a bit of a backseat.
- 23:15Speaker 1: I mean, she has moved in with Molly since then,
- 23:18Speaker 1: but it seems like she's just looking after the house
- 23:19Speaker 1: when Molly's not there. Well, Zoe and her husband, Danny,
- 23:22Speaker 1: they are moving out of the house soon and they
- 23:25Speaker 1: are moving into their own house that they built. And
- 23:27Speaker 1: Molly was saying that she doesn't know what to do
- 23:30Speaker 1: with her current house going forward. She says she doesn't
- 23:32Speaker 1: want to sell it and she doesn't want to rent
- 23:34Speaker 1: it out because the house has become her safety blanket.
- 23:37Speaker 1: She said it means that she's able to remove herself
- 23:40Speaker 1: from a situation with Tommy if she needs to. I mean,
- 23:43Speaker 1: the fact that you need a backup mansion in case
- 23:45Speaker 1: you have a fight just tells me that your relationship
- 23:47Speaker 1: is not in a good place. Well, yeah, she described
- 23:50Speaker 1: it as not wanting to put all of her eggs
- 23:51Speaker 1: in one basket and said that it would be scary
- 23:54Speaker 1: to get rid of the house because with Tommy, she
- 23:56Speaker 1: never knows what tomorrow is going to bring and she
- 23:59Speaker 1: gets really anxious thinking that she might wake up to
- 24:01Speaker 1: this big problem that she can't remove herself from. It
- 24:04Speaker 1: didn't sound great. Well, when series one concluded, I think
- 24:08Speaker 1: we all sat there and thought, this is not going
- 24:11Speaker 1: to work out well for them. Like we're happy to
- 24:13Speaker 1: see them back together, but realistically they haven't sorted anything out. Well,
- 24:18Speaker 1: it was actually Zoe who was saying to her, look, Molly,
- 24:20Speaker 1: this isn't normal for Bambi to be going between the
- 24:23Speaker 1: two houses and to not really know what's going on
- 24:26Speaker 1: between you two. You need to trial living back with Tommy.
- 24:29Speaker 1: I wonder if she suggested that because she kind of
- 24:32Speaker 1: hopes that maybe it'll end up with them breaking up.
- 24:35Speaker 1: I think she's the only realistic one in this situation.
- 24:38Speaker 1: It seems like Tommy and Molly are walking on eggshells
- 24:40Speaker 1: around each other because they still want to be together,
- 24:43Speaker 1: but they know realistically it's not going to work. I mean,
- 24:47Speaker 1: Molly even mentioned that she has chosen not to put
- 24:50Speaker 1: her engagement ring back on yet. So she admitted that
- 24:53Speaker 1: she doesn't feel quite ready to wear it again. And
- 24:56Speaker 1: she wants Tommy to make some sort of gesture. Now,
- 24:59Speaker 1: she said she doesn't expect a full-blown proposal from But
- 25:03Speaker 1: she'd like him to plan, you know, like a nice
- 25:05Speaker 1: romantic dinner out so she can have that moment where
- 25:08Speaker 1: she's like, okay, I'll wear it again. I mean, that's
- 25:11Speaker 1: not exactly hard to plan a nice dinner out. I
- 25:13Speaker 1: don't know why he hasn't done it already. She is
- 25:15Speaker 1: saying that this is a full new chapter for her
- 25:18Speaker 1: and Tommy. And again, reiterated that they're back together, but
- 25:21Speaker 1: things aren't perfect. Now, away from Tommy, the docu-series really
- 25:25Speaker 1: centered around Molly's experience as a mum, particularly the intense
- 25:29Speaker 1: mum shaming that she's been receiving from We've spoken at
- 25:33Speaker 1: length about the incidences on this podcast before. Funnily enough,
- 25:37Speaker 1: we were actually contacted by the Behind It All docuseries producers.
- 25:42Speaker 1: They asked if they could use a clip from our
- 25:43Speaker 1: podcast where we spoke about Molly and her secret nanny.
- 25:47Speaker 1: I was so excited by this. I was like, Does
- 25:49Speaker 1: this mean that Molly May knows we exist?
- 25:52Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 25:52Speaker 1: Or someone in her team. The segment was actually from
- 25:56Speaker 1: our subs episode. And I was like, I can't even
- 25:59Speaker 1: remember what we said. And we listened back. I have
- 26:00Speaker 1: the crokiest voice on it. Anyway, they were really keen
- 26:04Speaker 1: to have the clip and then they ghosted us. So
- 26:06Speaker 1: we got the vibe that, I mean, they did it
- 26:09Speaker 1: really well in the first series where they would have
- 26:11Speaker 1: people popping up on TikTok or podcasts popping up. And
- 26:14Speaker 1: they wanted to use a line that made it sound
- 26:17Speaker 1: like we were being quite negative around the fact that
- 26:19Speaker 1: it was revealed that Molly had this secret nanny, whereas
- 26:23Speaker 1: we came back to them and said we were actually
- 26:25Speaker 1: defending her decision to do so and felt it was
- 26:28Speaker 1: a bit sexist that no one brought up the fact
- 26:30Speaker 1: that Tommy also has a nanny for his daughter. So
- 26:33Speaker 1: I think as soon as they heard that, they were like, oh,
- 26:35Speaker 1: we might be barking up the wrong tree with that one.
- 26:37Speaker 1: It was quite interesting because they offered us a fee
- 26:40Speaker 1: to use a snippet from our podcast and they asked
- 26:42Speaker 1: us how much money we'd want for it. And we
- 26:45Speaker 1: were like, I have no idea what people would charge.
- 26:49Speaker 1: We went back to them and said, well, what's your budget?
- 26:51Speaker 1: They said 300 pounds, which isn't too bad for like
- 26:55Speaker 1: a tiny snippet of your podcast. I actually thought considering
- 26:58Speaker 1: it was a international licensing that it wasn't that much
- 27:02Speaker 1: at all. Like it was still 600 bucks essentially. We
- 27:04Speaker 1: would have let them use it for free. Let's be honest,
- 27:06Speaker 1: just to be on Molly Mae's talk. I was so excited.
- 27:08Speaker 1: I'm like, oh my God, Everyone that listens is going
- 27:10Speaker 1: to be thrilled for us that we're in the dog home. Well,
- 27:14Speaker 1: talking about the secret nanny, does she have one or not? Well, yes,
- 27:17Speaker 1: she does have a nanny. And this was brought up
- 27:20Speaker 1: when she was getting ready to go on a work
- 27:22Speaker 1: trip for a couple of days to St. Tropez. And
- 27:25Speaker 1: she was talking to her dad about it. And he said, oh,
- 27:27Speaker 1: who's going to be looking after Bambi whilst you're away?
- 27:30Speaker 1: And she said, oh, we've got childcare covering some of
- 27:33Speaker 1: the days. She then told her dad that there's been
- 27:36Speaker 1: all this speculation in the press about Bambi's childcare and
- 27:39Speaker 1: whether she has a nanny. And she said that she
- 27:42Speaker 1: never knew it was going to be blown into such
- 27:44Speaker 1: a big issue. And to be honest, she had shied
- 27:47Speaker 1: away from talking about it because she was really mindful
- 27:49Speaker 1: that she didn't want to upset any mums or make
- 27:52Speaker 1: any of them feel less than. And she confirmed that
- 27:55Speaker 1: it's not actually around the clock care, it's just when
- 27:57Speaker 1: she and Tommy are at work. I think the difficulty
- 28:01Speaker 1: with Molly and her job as an influencer is that
- 28:04Speaker 1: her role is to be as relatable as possible, even
- 28:07Speaker 1: though she is a multimillionaire who is super famous. And
- 28:11Speaker 1: when you watch her vlog, she seems like just your
- 28:13Speaker 1: everyday girl, someone that you could be friends with. So
- 28:16Speaker 1: I understand why she probably shied away from talking about
- 28:19Speaker 1: the fact that she has a nanny. And in terms
- 28:22Speaker 1: of how often she uses her, and I think people
- 28:24Speaker 1: probably see her day documented on YouTube and go, oh,
- 28:28Speaker 1: but all she does is go down to... the shops
- 28:31Speaker 1: and watches movies at home or what she has a
- 28:34Speaker 1: nanny to look after Bambi. I don't think people realize, oh,
- 28:37Speaker 1: she actually has a business that she needs to work at.
- 28:39Speaker 1: Like most moms go back to work after a period
- 28:42Speaker 1: of time.
- 28:43Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 28:44Speaker 1: And I think that it's more evident when you watch
- 28:46Speaker 1: the docu-series, how busy her life is and the fact
- 28:49Speaker 1: that she is this huge business owner and also has
- 28:52Speaker 1: all these brand deals that she's got to manage at
- 28:53Speaker 1: the same time. She said that having a nanny allows
- 28:56Speaker 1: her to keep working and build her business and create
- 28:59Speaker 1: this life that she wants to for Bambi. I think
- 29:01Speaker 1: we also forget the fact that she's only 26 years
- 29:04Speaker 1: old and she's navigating motherhood for the first time. She
- 29:06Speaker 1: got a lot of flack for a potty training scene
- 29:09Speaker 1: that was included in this documentary. Oh, I saw people
- 29:11Speaker 1: talking about that on TikTok because People were like, why
- 29:14Speaker 1: did they film her in the bath and also on
- 29:17Speaker 1: the potty? Like they censored it, but they were saying, well,
- 29:19Speaker 1: what about the film crew that were there that, you know,
- 29:21Speaker 1: saw it all happening? I do understand that, but I
- 29:23Speaker 1: think it was actually a really clever way to juxtaposition
- 29:26Speaker 1: this very glamorous lifestyle that Molly has with the struggles
- 29:30Speaker 1: of motherhood. Because in the scene, she has this pink
- 29:34Speaker 1: potty training toilet set up in Bambi's en suite and
- 29:37Speaker 1: Bambi just refused to go on there and Molly had
- 29:42Speaker 1: bought her this little bucket hat and some sunglasses and
- 29:44Speaker 1: said only girls who use the toilet are allowed to
- 29:47Speaker 1: wear these anyway Bambi wasn't having any of it she
- 29:51Speaker 1: hid in this basket and then absolutely lost it when
- 29:54Speaker 1: Molly tried to put her on the toilet like it
- 29:55Speaker 1: was very relatable for any parents it was an absolute
- 29:58Speaker 1: shit show pardon the I mean, I get that that's
- 30:01Speaker 1: good content, but personally, if I was Bambi, I don't
- 30:04Speaker 1: think I'd be thrilled that this vision of me learning
- 30:07Speaker 1: to use a potty was being aired to millions of
- 30:10Speaker 1: people across the world. It was quite humorous because she
- 30:14Speaker 1: then put Bambi in the bath and Bambi ended up,
- 30:17Speaker 1: of course, pooing in the bath. And she's having to
- 30:19Speaker 1: scoop out this disintegrating poo. So, I mean, the thing
- 30:22Speaker 1: that actually made me more mad was that Tommy then
- 30:25Speaker 1: pops up on FaceTime. Oh, how'd you go Bambi? It's like,
- 30:28Speaker 1: Where are you? Why are you not helping? Yeah, I
- 30:30Speaker 1: read an article saying that the docu-series actually posed more
- 30:35Speaker 1: questions than it answered and it seems like by Molly
- 30:39Speaker 1: letting this crew into her life when I think that
- 30:42Speaker 1: there are a lot of unanswered questions that she wants
- 30:45Speaker 1: to know the answers to in terms of her relationship
- 30:48Speaker 1: with Tommy and it's just come across as a little
- 30:50Speaker 1: bit awkward. Yeah, but again, this docu-series has two parts
- 30:54Speaker 1: to it. So we've got three episodes that have been
- 30:56Speaker 1: released now. At the start of next year, we have
- 30:59Speaker 1: three more. I'm sure those three more are going to
- 31:02Speaker 1: answer some of those questions. I think it's actually set
- 31:04Speaker 1: it up in a really clever way because it leaves
- 31:06Speaker 1: you wanting more. How long are these episodes? Are they
- 31:09Speaker 1: around like the 45 to hour mark again? They're only
- 31:12Speaker 1: about half an hour. I got through them so quickly. Well,
- 31:15Speaker 1: that's disappointing. Maybe I could have bloody watched them this
- 31:17Speaker 1: week because I saw Molly talking about how she's taken
- 31:20Speaker 1: this big hiatus from YouTube because she's been filming 24-7
- 31:23Speaker 1: and To only have an hour and a half worth
- 31:26Speaker 1: of content when some of her vlogs are around the
- 31:28Speaker 1: 30 to 40 minute mark each week. Yeah, but I
- 31:31Speaker 1: think it's quality over quantity. The episodes were snappy. They
- 31:34Speaker 1: kept you engaged. And I personally cannot wait for the
- 31:37Speaker 1: second installment to drop in January. Let's have a bit
- 31:41Speaker 1: of a Friday debrief. I want to know what your
- 31:42Speaker 1: highs and lows for this week are, Sophie. I think
- 31:45Speaker 1: I already know your low. It's definitely the four month
- 31:48Speaker 1: sleep regression. I touched on this in our subs episode.
- 31:51Speaker 1: It's hit me hard. I have been pre-empting it for
- 31:54Speaker 1: a couple of weeks now. It's not like you to
- 31:56Speaker 1: be pessimistic. No, I've done a lot of reading about
- 31:58Speaker 1: it because I was like, I just want to know
- 32:00Speaker 1: when it's going to hit and I want to know
- 32:01Speaker 1: when it's going to end. Unfortunately, there's not an answer
- 32:03Speaker 1: to any of those questions because it is subjective. Well,
- 32:06Speaker 1: that's just life with a baby. I don't think that
- 32:08Speaker 1: they come with a handbook, unfortunately. So, I mean, luckily
- 32:12Speaker 1: he's still sleeping really well overnight. It's just his daytime
- 32:15Speaker 1: naps that have been thrown off. Literally, it'll be 30
- 32:18Speaker 1: minutes and bang on the 30 minutes he wakes up.
- 32:21Speaker 1: and can't resettle himself. He is learning so many things though.
- 32:25Speaker 1: So my high of the week has to be the
- 32:26Speaker 1: fact that he's put on a lot more weight recently.
- 32:30Speaker 1: He's looking a lot bigger and he's just smiling and
- 32:32Speaker 1: there's so much more personality now. He's so gorgeous. You've
- 32:36Speaker 1: got to take the good with the bad, don't you?
- 32:37Speaker 1: My low of the week is that poor Amy has
- 32:40Speaker 1: been sick. She's been struck down by, it's not the
- 32:42Speaker 1: flu or COVID, but it's some nasty sort of coldy virus.
- 32:46Speaker 1: And that's why she hasn't been on the show this week.
- 32:49Speaker 1: But it also means double the work for Sophie and I.
- 32:52Speaker 1: Especially those of us struggling with four-month regressions and children
- 32:55Speaker 1: not sleeping during their nap times, which is your only
- 32:56Speaker 1: time to do some work. It makes it tough.
- 32:58Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 32:59Speaker 1: So poor Amy, she is starting to feel a lot better,
- 33:02Speaker 1: but we haven't really seen her because she was away
- 33:05Speaker 1: in Kangaroo Island for a couple of days too. So
- 33:07Speaker 1: I'm really missing her. So that would be my low
- 33:10Speaker 1: of the week. My high of the week is sadly
- 33:14Speaker 1: television related. I know we talked about the block. I'm
- 33:16Speaker 1: sad that the block is basically over, but I've replaced
- 33:19Speaker 1: that obsession with Sophie, you'll be excited by this. With
- 33:22Speaker 1: the summer, I turned pretty. I did sad watch the
- 33:25Speaker 1: block if you watch the summer, I turned pretty. And look,
- 33:27Speaker 1: we should take each other's recommendations more clearly. It's the
- 33:30Speaker 1: first show in a long time where I don't even
- 33:32Speaker 1: want to be on my phone. Like I've got to
- 33:33Speaker 1: be watching it. And it's so nice to actually be
- 33:36Speaker 1: so invested in a TV show. I'm at the end
- 33:39Speaker 1: of the second series and I've been told that the
- 33:40Speaker 1: third series is by far the best and that I
- 33:43Speaker 1: didn't even have to bother to watch the first two.
- 33:45Speaker 1: I said to Brandon last night, I just can't wait
- 33:47Speaker 1: for Kate to start watching the third series. You're going
- 33:49Speaker 1: to have your socks blown off. See, it's annoying because
- 33:51Speaker 1: I actually do know what happens at the end. I
- 33:53Speaker 1: won't spoil it for anyone else. But I do know.
- 33:55Speaker 1: I mean, I think it's fairly obvious. Yeah, I know
- 33:57Speaker 1: what happens at the end. And I've been hearing everyone
- 34:00Speaker 1: going on like, oh, I'm team Conrad. I'm team Jeremiah.
- 34:03Speaker 1: And I was surprised because towards the end of season two,
- 34:06Speaker 1: I was team Jeremiah. But I've been told that I
- 34:09Speaker 1: will turn into Team Conrad in season three. Because not
- 34:12Speaker 1: to give anything away, but they really make Jeremiah into
- 34:15Speaker 1: a bit of a flog in season three. When I
- 34:17Speaker 1: first watched it, I was like, I don't rate any
- 34:19Speaker 1: of these guys. I don't think they're attractive. I mean,
- 34:21Speaker 1: probably because they looked really young. But now I'm like,
- 34:23Speaker 1: oh my God, they're both gorgeous. Like, which one would
- 34:25Speaker 1: I choose from? That's the best thing about how the
- 34:27Speaker 1: show is created is you almost feel like your belly
- 34:30Speaker 1: and you're in the dilemma of, oh my God, they're
- 34:32Speaker 1: both incredible. bone to pick with Belly. Why are you
- 34:35Speaker 1: messing with these boys when their mother's just passed away?
- 34:37Speaker 1: I get so annoyed at her. I'm like, you're causing
- 34:40Speaker 1: this problem. And apparently I'm going to be even more
- 34:42Speaker 1: annoyed with her by season three. In season three, everyone
- 34:45Speaker 1: turned on Belly. I'm already turned on her now. I'm
- 34:47Speaker 1: not impressed with her behavior. It's funny because she's the
- 34:49Speaker 1: main character, but she's not the hero of the show.
- 34:51Speaker 1: The heroes of the show are Jeremiah and Conrad.
- 34:54Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 34:55Speaker 1: So I'm getting ready to be team Conrad because I
- 34:58Speaker 1: always love an underdog, and now suddenly that he's the underdog,
- 35:01Speaker 1: I'm like, oh. He flips so much during the series.
- 35:03Speaker 1: It's so clever. Yeah. I could talk about that show
- 35:05Speaker 1: all day, but we probably should head off. Thank you
- 35:08Speaker 1: so much for joining us for this episode. If you
- 35:10Speaker 1: have enjoyed it, could you please make sure you are
- 35:12Speaker 1: subscribed on Apple Podcast and also Spotify. And if you
- 35:15Speaker 1: want to hear more content from us, we drop a
- 35:16Speaker 1: subscriber-only episode every Thursday. That episode went live yesterday. If
- 35:21Speaker 1: you're not an Outspoken Plus subscriber, what are you doing?
- 35:24Speaker 1: It's basically an extension of this show. You get a
- 35:27Speaker 1: third episode every week. This week we spoke about the
- 35:31Speaker 1: croc invasion at an influencer hotspot along with G Bungalow's
- 35:36Speaker 1: decision to launch a faceless kids clothing campaign and also
- 35:40Speaker 1: Indy Clinton taking aim at her plastic surgeon. We also
- 35:45Speaker 1: had a bit of a candid conversation about Sophie Keisha's
- 35:49Speaker 1: recent podcast interview if you want to hear about that.
- 35:51Speaker 1: Yeah and let us know if You do want us
- 35:53Speaker 1: to do a bit of a deep dive into that. Also,
- 35:56Speaker 1: a bit of a live update. Artie's pet snake has
- 35:58Speaker 1: been located.
- 35:59Speaker 2: I know.
- 36:00Speaker 1: What are the odds of that? We just basically finished
- 36:02Speaker 1: the episode. I scrolled on Instagram and I'm like, oh,
- 36:04Speaker 1: the snake has been found. So it was actually hiding
- 36:08Speaker 1: in a bag. So Chloe has opened up the bag.
- 36:13Speaker 1: She wrote, oh my God, saw her pop her head
- 36:15Speaker 1: out of this bag as I was going into my
- 36:17Speaker 1: car this AM. Anyone want a snake? I think my
- 36:20Speaker 1: snake mum days are over. Sorry, Artie. Now, in the photo,
- 36:23Speaker 1: the snake again looks like it's about to strike. Oh,
- 36:26Speaker 1: it's horrible. I'm going to have nightmares after this. We
- 36:29Speaker 1: should probably leave things there. Thank you so much again
- 36:32Speaker 1: for joining us. This episode was recorded on the traditional
- 36:35Speaker 1: land of the Kaurna people of the Adelaide Plains. We
- 36:37Speaker 1: pay respect to elders past and present.
