- 2:15just jumped in. That's the good thing about this platform. There's plenty of
- 2:21room. The couch is really really big in here. Huge. And then
- 2:27Tracy gets his own, I mean Stacy gets his own. Sorry, I
- 2:30looked up and I saw Tracy in the in the chat there. Welcome to
- 2:35Fredy. Very excited. Lots of things playing today. I'm going to tell
- 2:39you about a very tragic event that happened in our house last night here in
- 2:43just a minute, but also coming up today. I'm not sure exactly what
- 2:49we're calling it. If it's the Dan Knack, the Magnificent O'Malley the or
- 2:54Killarney mac something. Whatever it is, we're ripping off Johnny Carson and we're
- 2:59doing that today. Very excited for that. Also, Ana Daharo, you
- 3:06not is going to be doing a live traffic report at least one, yes,
- 3:12maybe two, maybe too, if we can convince her to do some
- 3:14extra work for free, if she's not all tired from doing it. On
- 3:19a Bow show this morning on lone star. Now fine, high over the
- 3:22treehouse. That's right, Yeah, you will be flying high over the treehouse.
- 3:27Did the party chiuaha? Get enough for rest. I did a good
- 3:32week, and we will also enjoy a visit from our friends at Pause in
- 3:43the City telling us about some free friends available for adoption and for fostering,
- 3:51along with a special announcement about Vermafest twenty twenty four happening right here today inside
- 3:58the treehouse. We will be making that announcement with Kaylin in about twenty five
- 4:03minutes or so, so that to look forward to. And now I must
- 4:10start with the tragic event inside the O'Malley treehouse last night. Oh no,
- 4:15did you get hit by the tornado? Did not get hit by a tornado?
- 4:20Yeah? No, baseball size hill no no, no. Yeah.
- 4:27Well, you guys were dealing with North Texas weather. I was dealing with
- 4:30a special type of predicament, and that's called bat in the bedroom. Oh
- 4:38my mm hmmm yeah, flying yeah, flying rodent, flying rodents, perpetual
- 4:46rabies, carriers, night stalkers, the thing you see right before you get
- 4:53bitten in the neck and dreamed of all your blood. Dan, Yes,
- 4:58I have got I'm gonna just go out here on a limb and step out
- 5:00and say, listen, I'm proud of you, because if it were me,
- 5:05there would be nothing but burning embers in the background. I understand that
- 5:12sentiment, and a few of the people that we've mentioned this to already have
- 5:16shared that same sentiment. Trey. Unfortunately, this is not our house to
- 5:21burn down to collect I know, but I feel this kinship and responsibility to
- 5:30our Saint John landlords because while our house is rented out on Saint Thomas,
- 5:35we live here for for my wife's job and homeless yea, well, and
- 5:46let me tell the story and then you can decide who should be or is
- 5:48currently homeless. So you just, in a low voice, go, I
- 5:54am not Batman. I cannot make that claim for Batman, because at one
- 6:01point last night I kind of felt like him. So I told you guys
- 6:08a few weeks ago that there are bats not in the house, but sort
- 6:12of in the little nook in between the roof and the I forgot what Daniel
- 6:19Cook from Cook DFLW Roofing and Restoration called, but you know, it's like
- 6:23the wood part of the roof and then the actual roof itself. Somewhere in
- 6:27between there is where we believe some bats like to party, and somewhere around
- 6:31six am and six pm, you know, very much on the clock,
- 6:35they will come and go. So like we mentioned before, like the bats
- 6:41at the Congress Bridge in Austin, which you know Trey and Rodg you're very
- 6:44familiar with An and I think you've seen him as well. So at six
- 6:48pm they will leave the house and do some good around the neighborhood because they
- 6:54love eating skeeters, and there's lots of them around here to eat. And
- 6:57then around six am they come back. And at both times they have a
- 7:01tendency to wake us up. And by tendency I mean sometimes me Tara all
- 7:06the damn time, because they chirp and their loud and it wakes her up.
- 7:12The other night, we're about to go to bed, Tara goes upstairs
- 7:15into the bedroom, but sort of a loft style. Right, I'm turning
- 7:18off some lights and stuff on the first floor in the kitchen, and what
- 7:24could really only be described as a blood curdling scream. Almost like that,
- 7:31Tara just starts shrieking from the bedroom, and to my credit, I did
- 7:38not run out the front door and down the mountain. No. No,
- 7:42Instead, I barreled up the stairs to see what was the matter. And
- 7:46I see Tara clutching a pillow and bella are chihuahua in her lap as she's
- 7:51looking towards the ceiling, looking up into the rafters, and she starts pointing
- 7:56and screaming, saying, there's a bat. There's a bat. There's a
- 7:58bat. There's a bat. And this is where I'd like to ask you
- 8:01all. Have you ever had a moment in your life where you have recreated
- 8:07a scene in a movie, Because in that moment, I was inserted into
- 8:13the great outdoors with John Candy and Dan Ackroyd because I now had to suit
- 8:20up and get this bat out of the house. And so she calls our
- 8:24landlord, our Colombian landlord, Kiko, because they live right below us.
- 8:28So Keiko, he comes running up to the house. He comes inside,
- 8:31and he's all, you know, dressed up ready for battle, kind of
- 8:35like me. Where you get the wicker trash, can you stick it over
- 8:37your head so it doesn't the bat doesn't get your eyes. You get some
- 8:41gloves on. And I found a fruit basket, like a wire fruit basket,
- 8:46and the handle of a broom. I'm like, okay, I've now
- 8:48got my weapons. And then Keiko and I went to work, and I
- 8:54swear to God, all I could think of was, am I John Candy
- 8:58in this scenario? Or am I an acroid? Or is it really matter?
- 9:01I feel like we're not winning either way because it's two grown men chasing
- 9:05a bat around the house, dressed up with trash cans on their heads.
- 9:09Right, it's a flying Rabies rodent. You should have protection. That just
- 9:16burnt the son of bitch down. Yeah, but they're also blind, so
- 9:24you were, you know. But it's not like they can't see. They
- 9:28see cannot see that they know where they're going. Shut up. They knew
- 9:33what they were doing the right once we told him he was right about the
- 9:37Huckleberry thing, and he got all big headed and now he's like, well,
- 9:41bats can't see. Well, technically they can't, but they can still
- 9:43find you. Yeah. Yes, But what I'm saying is if they knew,
- 9:50like, look, they know where they're going, then he wouldn't be
- 9:52in your room. That you're not. You're making this like it's a conscious
- 9:54effort on the bat's bartlo Let's see what the mallleys are doing today? How
- 9:58do I know it wasn't We had a yummy dinner. Maybe it smelled tasty
- 10:03and he wanted to come inside. What do you think you got a peeping
- 10:05bat? Well, now I do. Maybe that's a Maybe that's a that's
- 10:11an island, saying like, man, if I could just be a bat
- 10:13on the wall. So we're still trying to figure out how the hell it
- 10:20got inside, because you know, while we had heard them for months,
- 10:24we never saw one inside, right, and then all of a sudden,
- 10:26this one. I guess. I don't know if there's a forking fork in
- 10:30the in the rafters somewhere where the right takes it to its little bat nest
- 10:33and the left somehow gets it inside the bedroom of the house. But I
- 10:37don't know what happened there. It goes and the bats inside flying around and
- 10:45and so we sued it up and we went to work with a wickard trash
- 10:48can on here. Could you see, yes, or were as the bat
- 10:58it was? It was so you could see through the lines. But I
- 11:03will freely admit it wasn't one hundred percent. It wasn't like twenty twenty vision
- 11:07yeaheah, were you able to hear your screams off the wall and like know
- 11:11where you were. I was not screaming. I was not using scream dar
- 11:18to find out where I was. Trey. I just knew I didn't want
- 11:24the damn thing biting out my eyes or sucking my blood or whatever the case
- 11:28is. I just knew that as long as I didn't end up with rabies
- 11:31and that thing didn't come near my wife, I would see it as a
- 11:35victory. And and and also was I John Candy or DNAs How many times
- 11:39did you guys hit each other? Shut up, Raj? So are you
- 11:48saying that you did not let out a scream, a shriek, anything,
- 11:52Only when Kiko hit me in the butt with the mock that was what?
- 12:00Oh my. At that point, I was afraid there was a second bat
- 12:03that I hadn't seen yet. I had always heard that they go after hair.
- 12:09Is that true? Well, luckily I don't have much. I keep
- 12:13mine nice and short. But Tara has hair. She does, and so
- 12:16that's that's another reason why it was important to make sure the bat didn't,
- 12:20you know, try to nest in there. This is you and your wife,
- 12:24and now there's two bats. No, there's there's just the one.
- 12:28Mop was the second one. Yeah, that's right. Yeah, invite goat
- 12:33Man over and you've got a hell party. You're not fine goat Man Batman,
- 12:41Mopman with her basket man. Yeah no. And that's the sad thing
- 12:46is, you know, you got the bat flying around. You want to
- 12:48you want to feel cool, you want to feel like your Christian bale and
- 12:50Batman begins. You're like, I'm gonna stand in the middle of well,
- 12:54this one bat instead of like a thousand, and I'm going to overcome my
- 12:58fear of bats and I'm going to turn into like the Dark Knight. I'm
- 13:00gonna fight crime on a tiny island in the Caribbean or whatever. No,
- 13:03no, no, Instead I felt like John Candy and in the great outdoors.
- 13:09The next thing you know, I'm getting dragged around the water on on
- 13:11skis in a boat. You're Wickerman Wicker basket man. I feel like that's
- 13:18the follow up. That's going to be Nick Cage's next role. So did
- 13:24we uh did who caught who eventually caught the bat guy or Wickerman guy did
- 13:31so? And here's it and here and this is a this is and this
- 13:35legitimately bothers me. I'm not proud of it, but it legitimately bothers me.
- 13:39I was the one that grabbed the capturing tools of the of the fruit
- 13:45basket and the broom handle or like the like you're like just the tip of
- 13:50the broom instead of the whole stick. It's just like just like a handheld
- 13:54broom. Just the tip works. Yeah, I mean, there's no there's
- 14:00no reason in going overboard. So it is Kiko all in and you were
- 14:03just a tip. Well here's the thing. He goos Colombian. He's a
- 14:09little aggressive. He goes mop deep and that's and that's why I shrieked yes,
- 14:24so uh no. So he he has the mop with the full handle,
- 14:28and that's kind of ridiculous, uh, especially with what he did with
- 14:33it. But I've got the fruit basket and the handheld broom, and I'm
- 14:37like, okay, the one to do is I'm just because this this little
- 14:39guy finally landed on a rafter. He's on a beam, right, he's
- 14:41and and he actually he actually covered up his little his little face, his
- 14:46little his little flying rabbid bat face with his wing and and and it's like,
- 14:52oh this is the part where as a kid that you should be most
- 14:56afraid because that's what Dracula would do. He would hide like in front of
- 14:58like this, and the bat's doing the same thing. So it's like,
- 15:01as a kid, I'd be scared to death, thinking this guy, this
- 15:05bat's about to change into Dracula and kill us all. But it wasn't like
- 15:09that. Instead, I'm more worried about Kiko with the mop, and I
- 15:15just I see him hiding his little face, the bat, not Kiko,
- 15:18and I know I can just kind of use the broom and just kind of
- 15:20brush him into the fruit basket and then take him outside, off off into
- 15:26the night. Instead, I think it was planned. Keiko, I guess,
- 15:31was trying to get the mop to hit the bat, and instead my
- 15:37ass out in the way, and that's where the mop ended up. So
- 15:41that's when Kiko grabs the fruit basket and the broom and then he stands on
- 15:48the edge of a futan and then because he's short, and then he just
- 15:50kind of swoops it into the basket and then he covers it with the broom
- 15:56and then he says and I quote and that's uh, and now you know
- 16:02how to catch the bats. What you I was the one that had the
- 16:07tools to do and he's making it seem like I didn't know, Like I'm
- 16:10the one that brought this stuff anyway. Yeah, and so we caught the
- 16:14bat. We take it downstairs, We go outside, walk down the mountain
- 16:18into the night with a creature of the night, and and and and we
- 16:22let it go, and we live to tell the tales. There there we
- 16:23are. How big was this rodent with wings? Oh? Use like pterodactyl
- 16:30size? And yeah, it was this big, totally this big. There
- 16:34are three things men lie about when it comes to size, and the other
- 16:38one's bats. They fought, but all right, one at a time.
- 16:49Yeah, go for it. Oh, I was gonna say, doesn't the
- 16:53bat live? Don't all the bats live in under your roof? So when
- 16:59you set this bat where you didn't it just go back to your house?
- 17:04I don't know, maybe, but I'm look, it's dark outside. I'm
- 17:08not taking the damn thing to Tortola, okay. And it's got wings,
- 17:14there's only so's there's only so much room I can take it to where it
- 17:18leaves. It's gonna know where home is. No matter how far we take
- 17:21it. We just wanted it outside the house, and that was accomplished.
- 17:23Gotcha, Okay, I'm just that's curious. That's nube where you thought it
- 17:30was gonna go after you let it. It may have come right back.
- 17:34I don't know, But all I know is it didn't end up back inside
- 17:37the house last night or this morning. I just want to know what the
- 17:41bat said when it got back to the rest of the bats, like watch
- 17:45out for the a holes with the trash cans on their head, those guys
- 17:49meeting business, I don't I think they probably think that they ran into some
- 17:53sort of freaky stuff in the bedroom with a couple of guys dressed weird with
- 17:56mops shoving into places that they're not typically too. I got lost, But
- 18:02there was this Colombian shoving a mop of this dude's ask I've ever seen that's
- 18:07like you hear of a Colombian necktie. But I'm not sure that's the Colombian
- 18:14swiffer. Yeah, yeah, probably watch the Colombians. Now, I'll ask
- 18:26this question, when's this coming out on your only dance account? That'll be
- 18:36uh sometime this weekend. In order to get access to that, you must

- 20:25and Entrey or buying sub hard toilet paper. And I'm wondering, am I
- 20:30the only one? Have Have you ever made that mistake by buying cheap toilet
- 20:33paper? Dan? I'm right there with you, man, For before I
- 20:37had a wife and knew the difference between toilet paper. Yeah, it was
- 20:42whatever the coupon said or whatever was had the had the cheapest price on the
- 20:48shelf. But then as you mature as a man and uh you go through
- 20:52life's learning curves, your your wife will explain to you the difference in toilet
- 20:57paper and why certain toilet paper is the only paper that will be used in
- 21:02our house. So that is where we're at currently. I had no clue
- 21:08or learning of the ability of toilet paper shopping until I got married. Now
- 21:14you're a full grown husband, man, you use the right toilet paper and
- 21:18there's no going back to the cheap stuff. No, no, you know
- 21:22what I will say, You do get spoiled. And so when you let's
- 21:26say you are on the road and you have to go, there's definitely a
- 21:29difference in that that time, you know, on a racetrack or a QT

- 21:57three Cook DFW, the website cookdfw dot com. All right, let me
- 22:06check in here, Anna, are you ready? I'm ready? All right,
- 22:12Let's see if I got all my all my ducks in a row ready
- 22:17to go here with our very first, totally unnecessary live traffic report inside the
- 22:22treehouse. Hang on, let me find your I did I got to do
- 22:26a new music bed for you so real quick. I have to throw out
- 22:29a quick disclaimer. There we go. So when this show was on The
- 22:36Eagle way back in the late nineties, Russ, Dan Valerie and other people,
- 22:44of course, uh, they did traffic out of Black Thunder and black
- 22:48Thunder is a classic. And then we went to CBS change the name to
- 22:51White Lightning with Jonathan Dodge and then let CBS back to the Eagle. So
- 22:56Black Thunder made its return. While technically Black Thunder is not real, I
- 23:00think they might still, you know, be a little you know, petty
- 23:04on that they owned the name black Thunder because at one point back in the
- 23:07day, there actually was a physical Black Thunder helicopter. Now there's not.
- 23:11But we want to make sure that we keep the dream alive of aerial traffic
- 23:18in DFW as opposed to just sitting in a cubicle pretending to be so.
- 23:25Yes, Tray, it's a bad joke. I give you credit for holding
- 23:32it in. So to that end, we needed to find a new helicopter
- 23:37since along with some of the stuff in our offices, they kept Black Thunder,
- 23:41which is fine, it's there. So we had to find a new
- 23:45chopper off of Craigslist, and then we had to send it to Plano where
- 23:48Ana lives. And are you ready with traffic? I am ready, all
- 23:53right, here we go. It is twelve thirty nine at KDIK or WTRI.
- 24:11We haven't decided yet because it doesn't matter because we're out FCC license.
- 24:15Dallas, Fort Worth, Texas and Saint John US, Virgin Islands. From
- 24:19a tequila drenched traffic center with your lunch rush traffic and a daharo is in
- 24:26the treehouses, Silver thunder, the silver Thunder, Yes, fine, high
- 24:33over GFW and Dan, thank you so much. Right now in Dallas,
- 24:37we do have some slowdowns due to stalled vehicles. Southbound seventy five. As
- 24:41you approach Walnut Hill, we have a stalled vehicle off to the right shoulder.
- 24:45Traffic is slowed from six to thirty five LBJ and then another stalled vehicle
- 24:48in Dallas block is the right lane westbound thirty at Second Avenue. Traffic stopping
- 24:53go in the area. Some construction wrapping up right now. In Sunnyvale,
- 24:57eastbound Highway eighty between law Elston Road and Lake Ray Hubbard Spillway, Trinity River
- 25:03Eastport. Drive carefully flying high over the treehouse in silver thunder or silver lightning
- 25:12Silver Twister. Anna, it's the Silver Twister. It's the Silver Twister.
- 25:17I'm anna Dahara with your traffic on the treehouse. Was that the Airwolf helicopter?
- 25:38No, No, I think that's trademarked. I don't think we're allowed
- 25:41to use the Airwolf helicopter. And we're not because that's also copywritten. We're
- 25:45not allowed to use the music bed for it, either along with Dallas or
- 25:48Chips or any other ones that we loved us. I'm sorry. So I
- 25:52shared this video on Instagram. Someone made an RC helicopter and it's huge,
- 25:57but it's a replica of Airwolf. It is the coolest thing ever. Yeah,
- 26:02check it out trade turn Home one. It is literally fire. It
- 26:07has guns and everything. Okay, so we need we need that. Let's
- 26:10acquisition that. See you said it. You said it's a really big RC
- 26:11chopper tray huh, and it's tiny. I bet she'll fit into it.
- 26:19And I have guns on a helicopter. She's gonna clear traffic up, that's
- 26:25right. See radio stations just report the traffic in the tree house. We
- 26:30clear that bitch for you. We killed the bastard that started it. No
- 26:37road rage on our roads. It's just it's just our own air rage eagle
- 26:45dropping bombs. Hmmm, that was good. All right, I believe she
- 26:56is waiting in the waiting room. Now we'll get Kaylen in from a pause
- 27:00in the city with a special announcement for firm FS twenty twenty four and of
- 27:04course menfo on some great dogs available for fostering and adoption. Let's bring her
- 27:11in now. Hello, Kaylen, how are things at pause in the city.
- 27:14Hey, how are you guys doing? We're doing great. We just
- 27:15did traffic on a podcast. What the kill end of that? That's an
- 27:21experience? Yeah it is. Are you going to cover Oklahoma weather for us
- 27:26next? Sure? Why not. We're willing to do just about anything in
- 27:32here, including including Trey right now showing off his rescue dog. Daisy is
- 27:41three pound chihuahua. Anna. How would you like a How would you like
- 27:48a Daisy to fly that chopper while you report traffic? Oh? Absolutely,
- 27:56let's do that. I don't know if I trust her with the party tiuaa
- 28:02come on, yes, little microphone. Yeah, I'm gonna I'm gonna look
- 28:12up on Amazon now see if I can find a tiny little headset to put
- 28:15on Daz's head. I mean, it's gonna have to be like it'll probably
- 28:18have to be the size of like what a barbie would use, but it'll
- 28:21probably fit on Daz's head, all right. From Pause in the City,
- 28:26Caylen, we appreciate you jumping on with us inside the treehouse. It's a
- 28:29long standing relationship we've had trying to help animals dogs in North Texas get adopted
- 28:36and fostered until they can get adopted. And Pause in the City is one
- 28:40of the fine fine groups that do that. Is the largest all volunteer,
- 28:44no brick and mortar UH, no kill animal quote unquote shelter in North Texas.
- 28:49And Kaylyn's been doing work with pas inive city for many years. And
- 28:53our uh, our dear friend Mark Verma, who used to run Pause in
- 28:56the City, Uh, he passed away. Was it almost two years ago
- 29:00now? And the mission still lives the way the mission still lives for our
- 29:07Police Fire Foundation. The mission still lives on trying to get homes for dogs
- 29:12in neat So let's start with Kaylin. Let's start with do you have any
- 29:15like off the top of your head, a great example of a dog that's
- 29:18needing a home whether to foster or to be adopted. Yeah, so today
- 29:23I want to talk to you guys about Winnie. I'll search for a picture
- 29:27to show you, but she is a Carolina Lab mix. She's a large
- 29:33breed. She is super cute. If you go on our website Poulsitcity dot
- 29:38org and look up Winnie, there's tons of photos of her. She's beautiful.
- 29:44She's kind of a light cream color and she has the eyes that you
- 29:48typically see with a husky, with the one blue and one brown. She's
- 29:52so pretty. She's incredibly friendly. So if you're looking for a large cuddle
- 30:00bug of a dog, Whinny is for you. She's she's pretty young,
- 30:04she's probably around four or five years old. But anything revolving around peanut butter
- 30:11or toys, she's all about it. You know, this is this is
- 30:17one of the moments where if if you were Mark Verma and he said that
- 30:19she loves peanut butter, this is where the show would just go completely off
- 30:23the rails. And you know, as soon as you said that, I
- 30:26know exactly what I'm wanted into see. I think you guys know it.
- 30:32I think we've said this for years. We think you guys plan this stuff
- 30:33on purpose to to make it seem innocent when in reality, you're you're,
- 30:38you're, you're, you're baiting us to go dirty. You know what,
- 30:44I will never tell but no. One of the questions, actually I get
- 30:48a lot, is why aren't they me and you as they were to Mark,
- 30:53because you're still new. Well, I feel like I might not set
- 30:57myself up quite as off in as he did. Well, it's because you're
- 31:02not a horrific idiot. Hey, come on, we kick people who were
- 31:08dead all the time. That's true, as you guys, not me.
- 31:14I'm get myself out of that. We have no problem kicking the dead and
- 31:18the imprisoned hard. Yeah, these are actually, these are great photos.
- 31:29I reached out to the foster and honestly, he's sin us so much stuff,
- 31:33so you know, most of it's up on the website. Her demeanor
- 31:37is supposed to be just like, very bubbly as a dog. She's also
- 31:42dog friendly. I don't know about kid friendly, but everything I've heard has
- 31:48been really positive. It does take her a second to talk to other dogs,
- 31:52just because you know they're new. She takes her time. It's not
- 31:56that she's not friendly, it's just that you know, she likes to kind
- 31:57of check them out and watch it everybody and she she'll follow the pack for
- 32:01a little while until she gets used to everybody. She just wants to make
- 32:05sure she's not dealing with a Verma. No peanut butter from strangers. That
- 32:12is one way to get to get more dogs to rescues. You just get
- 32:15yourself a panel van with an asking a bunch of dogs if they'd like some
- 32:19peanut butter. We do not condone that that's a way to rescue the dogs.
- 32:23What you do with them inside the van, that's that's that's on your
- 32:27conscience. Oh, I'm gonna get some now. Now you sound like now
- 32:35you sound like Mark Verma. Okay, So anything else about when you'd like
- 32:45to share. You said you're not sure how she is with everybody and certain
- 32:49dogs. It kind of depends. But you said she currently does have a
- 32:52foster. How long has she been with Paws in the City. She's been
- 32:55with Pause in the City since I believe twenty twenty. And it's no fault
- 33:00of her own. It's it's just, you know, in twenty twenty,
- 33:02we saw a weird thing happen, like like we talked about a ton of
- 33:07people went out and got dogs and then realized they couldn't stay home with them
- 33:09kind of situations. I'm not sure if she was a victim of that directly,
- 33:15but we did see an influx of dogs that we were picking up,
- 33:17you know, after that. So but yeah, I mean it's not even
- 33:22some dogs, it's she gets along with all dogs. It's just you know,
- 33:24she she likes to observe and make sure that you know she she likes
- 33:30everybody before she jumps in. But she hasn't anybody Trey raj Anna, do
- 33:35you have any questions for Kaylin about about Winnie who's available for adoption from Pause
- 33:39in the City. How old is she? Did? Did we say?
- 33:44Our estimate is probably around like four or five. She's pretty young when we
- 33:46brought her in. Now. Also, I know last time we talked about
- 33:52Gavin and then he got adopted right after the show. Yeah, that's awesome.
- 34:00Well, there's caveats that he's fantastic. If anybody just fell in love
- 34:06with him and thought they missed her chance go apply, he is back again.
- 34:09It is to no fault of his own. Unfortunately, there was a
- 34:13dog in that household that was very, very dominant and was not happy about
- 34:17a new dog being the house. He was fine, He just that was
- 34:22not a happy place for him, unfortunately, but we appreciate that they tried.
- 34:28You know, some dogs are just used to being lone dogs, and
- 34:31unfortunately, for Gavin, that means that, you know, we got to
- 34:36keep looking. But he is super cute as well. When we have,
- 34:38you know, back from that large intake we did not too long ago.
- 34:42Go look at our website. If you haven't seen new dogs in a while,
- 34:45we certainly have quite a few walve, gotcha. Yeah. The it's
- 34:49important to note that that's actually a good thing that a dog gets returned,
- 34:54because a lot of times if people realize they don't want a dog it doesn't
- 35:00work out, then they just go and dump the dog and that just makes
- 35:01everything worse instead, and this is part of what Pause in the City does
- 35:06is they try to find a right fit. And something's not a right fit,
- 35:08you bring the dog back and they'll find something else that could be a
- 35:10right fit, and then maybe and then dogs like when he can find the
- 35:15right spot for them, and then everybody wins. Everybody's happy, and you
- 35:17don't have more dogs running around the streets than than we already do any other
- 35:24dogs you want to mention or do you want to get to the uh?
- 35:27Would you like to get to the big news of the day for pause in
- 35:30the city. I mean, I didn't know if you wanted to drag that
- 35:32out and leave it as a teaser for a while. No, I say,
- 35:37I mean that's up to you. I mean, it's your event.
- 35:38We're just going to help you promote it. I just want to make sure
- 35:42that you know that it gets it. It's day in the sun, and
- 35:45I wanted to make sure that we were able to mention at least one dog
- 35:47available for adoption before we make the big Verma Fest announcement. Yeah, well,
- 35:53I guess now is as good a time as any. Yeah, we
- 35:57are finally able to announce the liner that we teased back and I don't know,
- 36:00was it January? Yeah? What is before you and before you mentioned
- 36:06who the headliner is? What is Verma Fest? So Verma Fest is something
- 36:13that was championed by one of our friends. His name is Jeff, you
- 36:16know, and anybody who knows Mark knows he was a huge fan of,
- 36:22you know, the the Dallas rock and roll scene. You know, I
- 36:27can't tell you how many times I ran into him by accident at a show,
- 36:30whether it was at Gas Monkey or elsewhere that there's tons of places.
- 36:35But one of his friends said, hey, let's do a Pause in the
- 36:38City event. But I want to make sure that it is all about Mark
- 36:44and you know just what he loved doing. So a couple of our friends
- 36:47here Posmove City and Jeff went around talked to some bands and they got together
- 36:52a large show that ended up being our largest benefit last year. That was
- 37:00and that was its its first year. We raised just at the show on
- 37:04its own, about twenty thousand dollars for the year. That's awesome. Yeah,
- 37:08really, it really was funny. If you ever saw it, if
- 37:13you knew Mark pausing the city, Mark that came to the radio station and
- 37:16like I ran into him a couple of times out yeah there was rock and
- 37:21roll Mark, Yeah, Mark, Yeah, yeah, Okay, because I
- 37:24didn't see that part because I'm trying to picture the guy that would come in
- 37:28with the dogs and I'm like, and you guys would just bust his walls
- 37:30all the time. It was. There was a couple of times I was
- 37:34at the studio and I was like that was faster. What did he do?
- 37:38It's really funny. One of the last shows that I ran into him
- 37:43at it was when Slittnock came to town right before everything shut down. It
- 37:49was like September of twenty nineteen, and he was a couple of rows behind
- 37:52me and Katie was there, and it was how did you get in front
- 37:57of us? And they were, you know, give me a hard time,
- 38:00and for the price of a couple of possibly contraband fireball shots, we
- 38:06were able to sneak them up. But it was a good time. I'm
- 38:09sure it was. Fireball was involved and verma I. I just couldn't picture
- 38:14him as a slipnot fan like he was. He was rock and roll,
- 38:20metal guy. That's what was funny. You know, So this is gonna
- 38:24be an odd comparison, but hang with me just momentarily. Okay, you
- 38:28ever go to the Strip club and see the weird, old, creepy guy
- 38:30in the corner? That was that was That was sort of like Mark but
- 38:34at metal shows, but very nice. He was a lot a lot of
- 38:39well, yeah, there's a lot of the people at the show would be
- 38:42looking around like, yeah, there the hardcore and then you look over and
- 38:45like who brought their dad and that that was typically Verma and he fella and
- 38:52I swear like seventy five percent of the people were like bikers and metal heads.
- 38:58Yeah right, memorial to that they had for them. So for Vermafest
- 39:05last year was a huge success for Pausing the City. You're doing it again
- 39:07this year, and you are, like most things, when something's good the
- 39:14first time, you want to recreate it do it again, but you want
- 39:15to do it bigger and better than next year. And that seems like what
- 39:19you are accomplishing with Vermafest two for Pause in the City. So, uh,
- 39:24who would you like to say is a part of Vermafest this year?
- 39:28I mean all of us obviously? Uh No, So that is true.
- 39:32It is. It is brought to you by the Treehouse Podcast. We'll be
- 39:37helping promote it three Nations, Brewery, the studio at the Factory, Pause
- 39:42in the City of course, anyone else. I'm leaving out Calen the headliner,
- 39:46which is so right. Yeah, that's about all I can play of
- 40:00it before we get there. Can I promoted on lone Star ninety too five.
- 40:07Absolutely, I'll shoot you over the graphic anything you know you need just
- 40:12let me know. Yeah, it was. These guys worked so hard to
- 40:16be able to work with us. There was it was a process getting everything
- 40:21locked in. But the guys at Drowning Pool were so excited about doing this,
- 40:27and our original date wasn't going to work, so they they kind of
- 40:30moved things around and were able to fit us into their tour schedule. So
- 40:36so our new date, I'm sorry, Yeah, yeah, they were.
- 40:40They were fantastic. And then so our date is going to be June fifteenth,
- 40:45and as you mentioned, it's going to be at the studio at the
- 40:47Factory, So and you can see me and the guys there, and I'm
- 40:52sure you if you have the ability, you're going to pop in. Yeah,
- 40:55I'm looking into flight. I may I may I may I make come
- 41:00to town for this bad Boy Yeah, m hmm. It's be right after
- 41:06my birthday, so I mean I would have been there an your birthday party,
- 41:08that's what it is. It's fat and your birthday. Yes, for
- 41:13my birthday. This year we're celebrating Mark. He would love that, by
- 41:16the way. Yeah, that is so it's outstanding news. So June fifteenth,
- 41:23the studio at the factory benefiting Pause in the City. It is drowning
- 41:29Pool and now just play the rest of the song in your head before we
- 41:39get sued. Thank you so much Kaitlin for coming on as always to help
- 41:46out dogs that need to be rescued, adopted and fostered, and for continuing
- 41:52the mission that is Pause in the City and in the spirit of Mark Verma,
- 41:58rocking the f out in d Bellum with Drowning Pool. That'd be a
- 42:01great event benefiting Pause in the City. So thank you Kaylin as always,
- 42:05and for more information on the event. All the dogs available for adoption and
- 42:10for fostering, which are always needed. The more fosters that Pause in the
- 42:15City has, the more dogs that they can save, So Kaylin, thank
- 42:17you again for all that info. Go to Pause in the City dot org.
- 42:22We are the Treehouse and we will be right back as soon as I
- 42:27find my bumper music. Hang on one second, m that is not it.
- 42:31That's a delay tactic. Here we go. You're in the tree House.
- 42:39Visit us online at Treehouseonair dot com. Time now to talk to Jacqueline
- 42:54from Brooks Plumbing inside the Treehouse for Indian all of your plumbing wants and needs.
- 43:00This woman two, one, four, three, six, eight,
- 43:01thirty eight, thirty eight. The website Brooks Plumbingtexas dot com. Jacqueline yesterday
- 43:07believe the kid and Trey were giving me a hard time because I got suckered
- 43:09into buying some really cheap toilet paper because it was on sale. And I've
- 43:15learned from my mistake. It's bad Vietnam. I'm stuck with a bunch of
- 43:19rolls of it. Does that have a huge effect on your plumbing system?
- 43:22The cheap toilet paper versus say, like the quilted stuff. I think cheap
- 43:25toilet paper is probably easier for your system because if we're talking like, hey,
- 43:30you've gone to prison and you've got the single ply that you can see
- 43:34through like that, it's so thin, and toilet paper is made to kind
- 43:38of degrade and fall apart, and that's what they say when they're talking about
- 43:43flesh ol wipe, so it's degradable. No, no wipe is really degradable.
- 43:47You shouldn't be using those unless you have a PVC system and you have
- 43:52a golden horseshoes stuck up your bum somewhere and you just feel are feeling really
- 43:54lucky. But the cheap toilet paper is so much better. Not that good
- 44:00toilet paper is not good for your system. But the higher quality the toilet
- 44:02paper, the thicker, the cushy, or the stronger, the harder,
- 44:06the longer it takes for it to break down. Now, I have a
- 44:07PVC sewer system, and I'm a prima donna, so I want my sharpman
- 44:12though, you know, the like Cadillac of toilet paper. But sometimes I
- 44:17was got to tell you, I was a cheap college kid once and we
- 44:20were buying that that bad stuff at the Dollar Tree, and you just got
- 44:22to, you know, do what you can afford, do what you like,
- 44:28and if you have a sewer backup, you know who to call.
- 44:30That's just the short and suite of it all. Give her a call for
- 44:31any and all of those plumbing once and needs two, one, four,
- 44:34three, thirty eight, thirty eight. The website trix Plumbing Texas dot com.
- 44:42You're in the treehouse. Visit us online a treehouse on air dot com.
- 44:52Guys, screwed it up. Hang on one second, it's been so
- 44:57long since we've done traffic. I forgot that we were supposed to do traffic
- 44:59out of that see you see you fall out of the habits and and and
- 45:04you just start things just run amok. And so Anna you're here. I
- 45:07want to make sure that we utilize you to the best of your abilities.
- 45:13I mean, you're more than a traffic reporter. But I spend some time
- 45:16on this artwork and I want to use it more than once. So yeah,
- 45:23I'm being I'm being quite selfish. But here we go. Do you
- 45:27so one more time? Are you ready? Anna? I am ready?
- 45:30All right, here we go. Oh that's the wrong music. Nope,
- 45:36that's the wrong music. Nope, there it is. Sorry, I got
- 45:39lets the buttons here, none of them are labeled. All right. It
- 45:44is one oh one inside the Treehouse, Dallas, Fort Worth, Texas and
- 45:49Saint John US, Virgin Islands from the Tequila Drench Traffic Center with your lunch
- 45:52rush traffic anadaharo is in the treehouse is silver Twister. And right now in
- 46:00Dallas, we do have some stop and go delays on westbound six thirty five
- 46:02LBJ between Preston and the Tollway. And this is due to a stone vehicle
- 46:07just after the Dallas North Toway. It's blocking the left lane around a five
- 46:10minutes slow down. At last report, we have an accident reported on the
- 46:15Toway southbound six thirty five LBJ and then in Plano, watch out for some
- 46:19slowdowns on southbound one twenty one the sam Ravern Toway due to an accident reported
- 46:23at Legacy Drive. Flying high over the treehouse. I'm Anna Dahara in a
- 46:29silver twister. Very good, Thank you, Anada. Look at Raja's face,
- 46:39he's getting I cannot believe we're actually doing this. I love it.
- 46:46The helicopter just makes some people laugh every time. And then it's like,
- 46:52I put a lot of work into this. I'm like, did we that
- 46:55took like ten minutes. I'm just waiting to see that. Did you do
- 47:00weather? You have not done weather? I have not How are you gonna
- 47:05do traffic and not do weather because I didn't have time to make a weather
- 47:08graphic? Hang on a second, uh hang out? All right? Yeah,
- 47:15and try to just set me the the the clip of the guy with
- 47:17the RC helicopter, and it's pretty ef and cool, like you gotta you
- 47:22gotta watch it like that guy. That guy's cool. I don't care,
- 47:25it's gotta. It had to have cost him so much money, but it
- 47:28was righteous. Oh all right, so I can find some weather for you.
- 47:37You're gonna do, say John weather or DFW weather. Actually right now,
- 47:40they might be about the same. I don't know. Cloudy, it's
- 47:45cloudy here today. See it's not it's not all. It's not all sunshine
- 47:49and beaches and stuff. Sometimes there's backs and clouds. Yeah, you have
- 47:52tornado and hail. No hail, but the occasional tornado will pop out of
- 47:58a hurricane cloud to cloud to ground. Lightning last night and telling people to
- 48:04run and stay inside because according according to the Emergency Broadcasting Broadcast System, lightning
- 48:12kills f y. I just letting you get no see that right there is
- 48:15why it's it's important to be a professional radio broadcaster so you can relay the
- 48:21important information from the emergency alert system that lightning kills. Yes, I will
- 48:27say this, Hey on, make sure I found my weather deal find it
- 48:31before I do weather. I would. Some meteorologists in Kansas or Missouri,
- 48:37whatever it is, they had severe storms going through I guess the same one
- 48:39that hit DFW last night went through Kansas and Missouri, you know, before
- 48:45it made its way south, and some meteorologists started talking about, oh there's
- 48:51there's a gorilla haile. You gotta be careful go inside. This needs to
- 48:55stop because this is this sensational meteoro logical crap. Because when you name hale,
- 49:05it's supposed to be the size of the thing you named golf ball size,
- 49:09hail, baseball size, hail, softball sized, pineapple candalou quarter whatever.
- 49:15This guy's idea of gorilla hale was basically in the like golf ball tot
- 49:22like golf ball to baseball size. And it's like no, no, no,
- 49:23no no. If you say gorilla hale, I'm expecting it to be
- 49:28like gorilla is dropping from the sky, but ice balls, gotcha? Or
- 49:35could it just be it was like like like gorilla warfare, like you don't
- 49:38know where it's coming from. Or no, it was g O R not
- 49:42g the other one. Yeah, it was gorilla poop hale, like the
- 49:47size of poop. You know, I've never seen gorilla poop, so I
- 49:51wouldn't know if it like, is it about the same as a human?
- 49:55I mean that obviously comes in various sizes and U gorillas are much bigger than
- 50:00humans. Yeah, and and very and they're very dense, So I'm guessing.
- 50:07I'm guessing, so is their poop that would be. That'd be some
- 50:12dangerous hall. But when you say when you say gorilla hale, I'm thinking
- 50:15it lands on the ground and then takes a crap and throws it at you.
- 50:20That's monkey hail tray. That's totally different. None of Gorilla Hill just
- 50:27escapes the Dallas Zoo, that's all. It jumps over tall fences really easily
- 50:31and chases it terrorizes forwards, suit keepers, treehouse. Weather for tonight,
- 50:40hmmm, we have got chance or more rain and showers and such. Don't
- 50:45expect anything severe overnight low around some mid fifties them. Tomorrow, more rain
- 50:51likely and a high of sixty five right now sixty three degrees. See what
- 50:59happened to me? Oh you did it? Did it? Yeah? Shut
- 51:06up you? Yeah, so it's actually sixty three degrees at the treehouse.
- 51:12Yeah. That right there goes to show how difficult it is to get out
- 51:15of muscle memory because I start thinking about four different things ahead of weather and
- 51:19and Raj. I think you can do this as a stand up comedian.
- 51:22You just start saying things that you know because you've done them so many times,
- 51:25and you can think about something else. Yeah, But then I also
- 51:29do I also what I call it. Now. As I pull a Dan,
- 51:31It's like midway through my set, I'm like, did I already do
- 51:34that? Because I was does doing I was just on autopilot and I was
- 51:37thinking about something else. And then I got out of the autopilot and I'm
- 51:39like, oh, no, I'm about to start this joke. Did I
- 51:42already do this? So yeah, but you're a hundred sent right. I
- 51:45just didn't. I didn't even catch it when you said it. Uh,
- 51:47you know what, though he calls it, I almost pulled a Dan.
- 51:52No, No, I heard it and I felt it. I'm twelve hundred
