Transcript
- 0:01My name is before you name your kids something weird. When I say weird,
- 0:04I just mean unique. And I get the urge because, like me,
- 0:07if I were to have a child, I would want to name it
- 0:09something that's not like so overdone. But there are things to consider. Amanda,
- 0:13who has two kids with semi normal names for their age, I suppose,
- 0:16Yeah, Sydney I felt was extremely normal. Briggs was my idea and
- 0:20my husband wasn't convinced. Right away, you invented Briggs. I did not.
- 0:24I'm just saying that was like unique. It wasn't. There wasn't a
- 0:28lot of Briggs hanging around. I got friends with a kid named Briggs,
- 0:30but you know it's definitely I don't know many Brigs older than twenty years old
- 0:34exactly. So there's three factors to consider, according to a baby naming expert,
- 0:39when you're naming your child a unique name like one, you're gonna want
- 0:42to ponder potential jokes or insults, Oh that could be made based on your
- 0:46child's name. That's the first thing you do. But then also, I
- 0:49think one of our biggest challenges we had a lot of friends who had already
- 0:52had kids, so every name were like oh, so and so's kids is
- 0:55this and that? And then also I dated somebody with that name or yeah,
- 1:00and was it nice? Yeah, I can't imagine being a teacher well
- 1:03a kid. Oh yeah, you had them all exactly. That's how you
- 1:07know. We had a teacher in elementary named their kid's Sydney too. Actually
- 1:11name, we had a Sydney in our class. It's like, oh,
- 1:12really, see who the favorite is? Obviously apparently Amy Schumer. I don't
- 1:18know if you remember this, but it was in twenty twenty. She had
- 1:19a baby with her husband. They named the kid Jeane, which is obviously
- 1:23a family name, but middle name was a Tel, which I've never heard
- 1:26that name, but again, it must be a family name. Purpose with
- 1:30her, you know, probably feel like that was a pr stunt. So
- 1:33of course Gena Tel Janet, you know, yes, and so she realized
- 1:38it eventually, and she actually changed the baby's middle name. Of course you
- 1:42do. There's no way you did not know that, because you're writing your
- 1:45kids' names down a man. When you were naming your kids, though,
- 1:48you were running it through the test, right, I mean, you got
- 1:51to say it out loud a few times, and your your husband was really
- 1:55putting it to the test. Yeah, so Sydney he made He literally brought
- 1:57up that name. I don't remember ever having another girl name. It was
- 2:00just boom. Within seconds, that was like, that's it, that's nice.
- 2:05I struggled so hard with boy names. Nick wanted Jordi. We have
- 2:09a cousin, Jordi or Jordan. He has a best friend Jordan, and
- 2:14he like, actually JORDI not want just Jordie. And I'm like, I
- 2:16don't know, it just it didn't have it, didn't have it for me.
- 2:20Briggs. He was kind of like a so I will never forget it,
- 2:23and I just pulled up the audio for it. This was him sitting
- 2:27in a rocking chair with Sydney because she was still a little kid in the
- 2:30hospital room. No, this was this was Nick hanging with Sydney and Iana
- 2:37a beautiful day while we were trying to pick out baby names for Briggs.
- 2:39Okay, yeah, de hair Bridge, what free times, Jordy wonder,
- 2:54wonder, what do you say say he's just a little baby just loving it.
- 3:01Yes, but he was. That was his thing. And then we're
- 3:05like, okay, now Beijing, Briggs Linder to the office. I mean,
- 3:09just you go through all of it. Yeah, you got to hear
- 3:10it. You got to hear it. I love that we asked what the
- 3:15weirdest names people had heard on our Big ninety eight point seven facebook page.
- 3:17If you got when you want to weigh in seven oh one two eight oh
- 3:21eight seven, you can text or call us weird names you've heard. Amanda
- 3:23Lee commented Dorcas, yep, is that you? That is me? And
- 3:29actually suddenly commented because I didn't want to put the last name just out of
- 3:32but Kelly knows this person as well from my hometown, Dorcas. He married
- 3:37a dick house. It's married into a dick house. Her name was Dorcas,
- 3:42dick House, yanks. I don't even know what's funny, but I
- 3:46mean it's just some funny combinations of letters as all. It just sounds funny
- 3:50Dorcas. I mean, what when did dork come around as a negative?
- 3:53Yeah? I guess, I don't know. I don't I really don't know.
- 3:57Did they have a nickname or did they just straight up went by Dorcas.
- 4:00I would assume full name Dorcas. Wow analious. Somebody commented, Hell,
- 4:08come on now, Amy said, not the weirdest but I had a
- 4:13bank customer named Mary and her last name was Christmas. That's really good.
- 4:18Hi am Merry Christmas. That's so good because yeah, the last name people
- 4:24have the last name Christmas Lloyd Christmas, for example. I feel like you
- 4:28and Lowe are gonna Lauren are going to have fun with baby names at some
- 4:31point. Yeah. Step one would be to have the baby will and we'll
- 4:36see from there. I guess somebody commented, I think I know this person
- 4:41Dick Trickle really on our Facebook? You ever heard of a Dick Trickle that
- 4:45does actually sound very familiar because my neighbor or something somebody has said that before.
- 4:49Oh yeah, a couple of tough he's on here too. Somebody said
- 4:53disco biscuits. Is there somebody named disco biscuits? Or did somebody not understand
- 5:00the post. I'm guessing that there's actually people named this. That's a sick
- 5:04name. By the way. Yeah, yeah, if you're gonna name a
- 5:08kid something weird, just run it through the test. Be like nick Just
- 5:10say it out loud a few times, think of any nicknames, and you'll
- 5:13be fine. Who's gonna break it to him? If he's not the three
- 5:15time MVP. What did he say up to bat a three time all stay
- 5:18or breaks linder? Like it a minute in the morning. I know,
- 5:21Amanda stills, let's see, let's see love it. Garth Brooks wants Travis
- 5:28Kelcey to perform Friends in Low Places at his new bar's grand opening. It's
- 5:31called Friends in Low Places Bar and honky Tonk. It opens on March seventh,
- 5:35and uh, this is just great. I see Travis Kelsey's version of
- 5:40Friends in Low Places uns. I'm so up and booz I loved it.
- 5:46I thought it was fantastic too, big man. I'm just telling you this,
- 5:49I will be a grand opening. If you're that, I'll send a
- 5:51plane. If you want to come and get another shot at the title.
- 5:57You want to come seeing that, I'll send you. Come by yourself,
- 6:00or you bring your brother, your gang, whatever you want to do.
- 6:03Do you think he could do better than what we saw in that video?
- 6:06I think so. I mean he was obviously hammered and you know he was
- 6:10screaming. So do you think given the right situation he could impress? Yeah?
- 6:14And you know he is now down Unda. He went to Australia yesterday
- 6:16to be with his girl Taylor Swift. Maybe she can give him a few
- 6:19music lessons before March seventh. But I do love how Garth says and the
- 6:24gang Are you referring to Taylor Swift? Oh? No, of course,
- 6:30Why would Garth Brooks want Taylor Swift at his restaurant's grand opening. That'd just
- 6:32be a distraction from And there's been a lot of rumors of the past week.
- 6:39Why Kelly Roland walked off the set of the Today Show. I kind
- 6:42of I rolled out of him, like this seems a bit aggressive. But
- 6:44there was the whole rumor that the dressing room just wasn't up to her standards.
- 6:48I didn't know she was such a diva. I know that's how it
- 6:51was being portrayed. Yeah, years into her career, suddenly she's now a
- 6:55big diva in the Today Show in New York City. Like, I'm sure
- 6:58it's fine, right, So she haded up on like the Sherry Shepherd Show
- 7:01or something like that. The other Howard those dressing rooms and on it it
- 7:04said something about thank you for offering such a safe space, and then people
- 7:10went, hold up, what is that referring to? Well, apparently the
- 7:14reason Kelly walked off the set was because Savannah Guthrie was like getting really aggressive
- 7:18with her asking her questions of Beyonce, and she told her numerous times like,
- 7:23I'm not here to talk about that. She has a new Netflix show
- 7:25called Mia Kulpa that is out tomorrow, so that's what she's not promoting Jestiny's
- 7:30Child. No, she's not. I mean, I get it, I
- 7:31get the urge to not want to talk about your past like that, but
- 7:34and I guess all of her interviews her team tells them like, hey,
- 7:39don't ask questions about this, but at the same time that today's show pretty
- 7:42much ignores it, like, no, if you want to come on our
- 7:44show, we'll ask you what we want to ask you, and you should
- 7:46just know that. I know we've been in those situations a couple of times.
- 7:48One I remember were Sheryl Crow and Lance Armstrong when they had gone through
- 7:53their breakup and we were told do not bring up Lance Armstrong whatsoever. And
- 7:57then the other one was Pistol. Annie's thought, Oh yay, we're gonna
- 8:01get to interview. This was when Miranda Lambert was like the hottest thing,
- 8:03and she just sat there and wouldn't answer our question. She's like, this
- 8:07isn't about me. Ah uh oh, okay, it's really stupid. Yeah,
- 8:11I mean you're allowed to feel that way and try. But at the
- 8:13same time, it's like, no, if you're gonna come on, if
- 8:15you're coming on this show, this show, you're gonna get some hard hitting
- 8:18questions. Okay, and whoopy Goldberg? Did you remember that her real name
- 8:24is Karen Johnson. I know everything about what be I know, so yeah,
- 8:26I knew that. That just has me rolling. Anyway, she got
- 8:30pretty hot about this. So Malia Obama is now a director in a movie
- 8:33and people are just razzing her online because she changed her name on the movie
- 8:37to Malia Ann, which is what is that her middle name? I don't
- 8:43This is like such a stupid thing to get because it's such a subtle thing.
- 8:46The whole point is like, oh, we all know you're an Obama,
- 8:48so stop trying to hide it. Yeah, but if you can,
- 8:50you know, for the few people that might not recognize her, To be
- 8:52honest with you, if she was doing something and I saw her, I
- 8:56don't think I'd be like, oh, that's so. I mean, she's
- 8:58grown up so much. I don't follow that. I mean she doesn't want
- 9:01people to think that she's able to direct movies at such a young age only
- 9:05because she's in Obama. I mean she worked hard for this. Well,
- 9:09your girl, Whoopee got real worked up about it. If she knows she's
- 9:13an Obama, why do you care? Why do you care what she calls
- 9:18herself? If she wanted to call herself, Janet McDonald could be Whoopy Goldberg,
- 9:26she could be whoever the hell she wants to be. Where Karen Johnson
- 9:31got Whoopi Goldberg? I mean that's just great, WHOOPI love it. We
- 9:35gotta make up a name, I mean, make up a good one.
- 9:37You know, how do you land on Whoopy Goldberg? That's what That's what
- 9:41I want to know. I mean, all this time you've spent with her,
- 9:45with your love for Whoop, I can't believe you don't know the reason.
- 9:48The time we did spend together, which was one Samantha, to be
- 9:50fair, it was on the set of the View and I was just so
- 9:54I was just blacked out. Oh yeah, she smelled gray. I'll tell
- 10:00you that much. If you were wondering, really, because I've heard she
- 10:03has a farting problem. Remember that whole story. Well, she's as clutching
- 10:07for me. She was being very respectful. I get a Manda in the
- 10:09morning seven. You know, it's a tail as old as time you board
- 10:15the flight, get in your seat, buckle up, flight takes off,
- 10:20and suddenly you get the urge to just rip the emergency door open. Yet
- 10:24no, definitely not. In fact, if they say, hey, do
- 10:28you want to sit in the emergency exit. I'm not flying solo ever usually
- 10:31anymore, but every once in a while I would going back and forth,
- 10:35and it always made me nervous, just like it felt like a lot of
- 10:39responsibility. Well, yeah, how many times does it? How many times
- 10:43does the blane go down? You get you know, you're stuck helping people
- 10:45out there. Have you ever had a flight attendant who really like if they
- 10:48take it to a level where it's her job one hundred percent? But that
- 10:52was very intimidating, Like, no, I don't want to be in charge
- 10:54of the plane of something to go a ride. They make you take your
- 10:58headphones out inverbally say yes, I agree that I will help in the case
- 11:01of an emergency. No books. Yesterday it happened again on a flight in
- 11:05an American Airlines flight leaving Albuquerque, New Mexico. When the plane got in
- 11:09the air after takeoff, this guy suddenly just started trying to open the door,
- 11:13which I just I don't It doesn't say here. Of course, they
- 11:16won't know until they interview him and figure it out. Like, what were
- 11:18you doing? You just have a panic attack. You're getting claustrophobic to me,
- 11:22Vodka Cranberry's what happened? You're trying to just take the whole plane down,
- 11:24or you're just yourself? Who knows. But thankfully there were five passengers
- 11:28nearby that were able to put an end to it. They tackled him,
- 11:33and somebody had just had duct tape on him. I guess, oh they
- 11:37let that through security. Just good to have, you know. And so
- 11:39they duct tape this dude's ankles together, threw some flexi cuffs on him,
- 11:43and then turned it around and they had to go all the way back to
- 11:46Albuquerque where they landed. The guy was arrested. Okay, that is horrifying.
- 11:52Can you imagine? This is stuff that happens in movies. There's been
- 11:56a lot of these circumstances lately that are kind of going either the doors fly
- 12:00off on its own, or somebody's opening and although it was like the window
- 12:03situation, right, it sounded like it was the whole side of the plane
- 12:05that opened up. It is nice to know that you're not gonna because everything
- 12:09I've seen in like movies and cartoons is if the plane door opens, everyone
- 12:13just gets sucked out, correct, like a vacuum. You know, it
- 12:16doesn't feel like that's necessarily the case. I don't know. I just don't
- 12:20even want to be in a situation like that. You got a flight coming
- 12:22up? Does this make you nervous? I'd probably better pay a little bit
- 12:28more attention, because I do tend to not listen to the flight attendant sometime.
- 12:33I do know that, especially now that I have kids, it's like,
- 12:35oh, I'm supposed to take care of myself first, before the kid,
- 12:37and making sure I know how to put that yellow thing on over my
- 12:41head, the oxygen mask, and then if there was something about it,
- 12:43like a flotation device under my booty. Yes, your seat is a flotation
- 12:46device, so you're supposed to rip the sea down and take it out with
- 12:48you. I don't know. I don't envision me doing any of that.
- 12:52Well, panicking if something really happens and just if the plane goes down in
- 12:56the middle of the ocean, especially at night, what night mares are made
- 13:00of? Just imagine being in the dark, dark Pacific Ocean, the middle
- 13:03of nowhere, and you're trying to find your seat to use it as a
- 13:07flotation device. I don't know. Meanwhile, as we're talking, did you
- 13:09see this bomb scare mid air that's currently going on on another flight? Like?
- 13:13Really, well, that's not cool. Now my story seems all outdated.
- 13:18And Amanda in the morning on Big you want suspect a thing when you
- 13:26hear that telephone by friend's lucky number, this lesson by friend in the sunny
- 13:35Wan arrested by friend today's victim. I don't like using the word victim.
- 13:41That sounds weird. Person. We're gonna prank call today Amanda was set up
- 13:43by his friend, good friend of his name Ryan. I like it.
- 13:46Just a couple of bros just razing each other. Oh yeah, it's the
- 13:50best. So we're gonna just make something random up and try to get this
- 13:52guy with a little goof m just be silly geese for a sec. Okay,
- 13:54ready, a goose. You're not a geese, you would mean this
- 13:58is all you stop it. Hey, this is Chad. Hi, Chad,
- 14:05good morning. Do Spentura over here at Peter Peter Potato Eater, USA,
- 14:11of course, one of the nation's largest providers of russet potatoes. How
- 14:15are you today, I'm good. Yeah. I do have good news for
- 14:20you, Chad, because you entered a contest at your local grocery store recently,
- 14:24and you, my man, have won a year's worth of free russet
- 14:30potatoes. You know, I don't remember entering a contest for this, or
- 14:35actually any contest really. Actually, you just kind of automatically signed up when
- 14:41you bought a bag of potatoes here recently. So, Chad, my question
- 14:43for you is when is a good time for me to drop off this load
- 14:46of potatoes. I'm sorry, I'm militious, so confusing. So I'm getting
- 14:52a I'm getting a bag of potatoes for b got a bag an entire year
- 14:56of russet potatoes, and I will be personally delivered bring them to your house
- 15:01at four twenty seven third Second Avenue South here in Fargo. Wait, wha
- 15:07wha, wha wha wait wait, how do you know my address? I'm
- 15:09looking at your house right now on Google Maps. Actually, and it looks
- 15:13like to be here. There's plenty of room over there on the south side
- 15:16of the garage. Might if I just go in that back door? Or
- 15:18what's best for you? Not? I mean, how would you guys just
- 15:22send me some coupons or something instead of actual potatoes? Don't you a check?
- 15:24I got to do the actual potatoes. It's four hundred pounds, just
- 15:28so you have an idea. It's going to take up about half of a
- 15:31two stall garage, so you're gonna have to park on the street for a
- 15:33while. But the cool thing is they are fresh russet potatoes. But if
- 15:39I don't want them, though, like I have to take these potatoes,
- 15:41I get it, Chad. The deal though, is here my job's on
- 15:45the line, and if I don't dump these potatoes off somewhere, I'm probably
- 15:48gonna get fired. So let me ask you this, though, what would
- 15:50your preference be on size? Excuse me? Like, would you rather have
- 15:56the potato be a little smaller kind of like a potato you could fit in
- 15:58your mouth, or would you rather be one of the great big ones that
- 16:02you could, you know, like pretend it's a little baby or something.
- 16:04Okay, got to be a joke. No, it's not. No,
- 16:07not a joke. And actually, Chad, I'm actually in the area right
- 16:11now, just drove by your house a little bit ago, in fact,
- 16:12so I could circle back and drop these potatoes off right now. If it
- 16:15works. No, do not, no, please, do not drop any
- 16:19potatoes at my house. Chad. Listen, man, you're getting six hundred
- 16:22punds of potatoes. That's happening whether you like it or not. So I
- 16:26can do it now, I can do it later. You just tell me
- 16:29you what a good time is. Okay, No, are you kidding me?
- 16:32If you drop off any potatoes, we're gonna have an issue. Okay,
- 16:34stay away from my house. Amana should eat? Can we tell him
- 16:38the news? I mean, I'm starving for some potatoes right now. But
- 16:41no, chat my man. What hey, Bud, it's piking Amanda in
- 16:44the morning. I'm pig ninety eight point seven. That was a dumb prank
- 16:47call. I'm sorry. Yeah, I do it. I knew it.
- 16:52You sound like a big potato guy, though, you know apparently apparently I
- 16:57am. Now, Oh my god, Chad, Well, first of all,
- 17:00it was your friend Ryan that sets you up. He listens to our
- 17:03show, and he said to be funny to mess with you just for grins
- 17:06and giggles, But you were I'll say that, what kind of lunatic turns
- 17:10down a free year of potatoes? Though, that's a lot of potatoes,
- 17:11pods, that's a lot of potato. Thank you for being a good sport
- 17:15man, and enjoy the potatoes. Kay, I'll be over in about ten
- 17:18minutes. All right, sounds good buddy, Bye Fred. Now here's what
- 17:25you need to know. Well, this is quite the debacle. If you
- 17:27are left not able to make calls, text or access the internet, you're
- 17:32probably on AAT and t's network. So yesterday, I guess it's sort of
- 17:36kind of like late last night. Some people still having the problem this morning.
- 17:38Now it looks like it's just with AT and T, but some Verizon
- 17:41and T mobile customers are without any sort of network at all right now?
- 17:48Yikes, Oh frightening. So it would say like sos on the top of
- 17:51your phone? Mm hmmmm hmm, you got that? No I don't.
- 17:53Thankfully, I'm one of the chosen ones with the AT and T whose phone
- 17:56is still seemed to be operating, and it doesn't look like there is any
- 18:00reason behind it. Well there's a reason, yeah, but they haven't announced
- 18:04it yet. It's one of life's great mysteries. That's why we're going to
- 18:11the Moon figure out what's going on. I wonder if that has anything to
- 18:15do with it. It's just the last minute gripped in the moon. Maybe
- 18:21at and t's wireless devices on the Moon because they're almost there. What's happening
- 18:25today is an unmanned spacecraft is going to be landing on the Moon. And
- 18:29the reason this is such a big deal it's the first American mission to make
- 18:32a soft landing on the Moon since Apollo seventeen touchdown, which was back in
- 18:34nineteen seventy two. So is this Apollo eighteen. No, this is spacecraft
- 18:40Odyssey expected to land about four point thirty today. We're being told that even
- 18:45though NASA is not a part of it because it's a private company, they
- 18:48have funded it and they're putting six scientific instruments on the Moon. Well,
- 18:52did you say your favorite scientific instrument is ah? The so many the chart
- 19:00that the chart, the chart table, periodic periodic table. Yeah, that
- 19:04one's one of my favorites. It was really nice to like look at it
- 19:10in reference. Yes, One of my favorite pastimes is looking at it the
- 19:15scale? Is that one the scale? Yeah? I loved like or what's
- 19:19the one that would go like a teeter totter scale? Like one of those
- 19:23and that's just a teeter totter thing. I don't know. I'm trying to
- 19:26think of like a bunt and burner. Remember the beakers look at you?
- 19:30Chemistry boy, didn't know this about you. I went to class. Okay,
- 19:33did you ever have to gosh? And I can still smell it the
- 19:36Formelda hide? Did you is that when somebody dies? Did you ever have
- 19:41to do the the pig? Like the pig? Did you have to dissect
- 19:45the Oh? We didn't do any pigs? What was it? The I
- 19:48remember? I swear there was like a poor little piggy that we had to
- 19:51do. I want to say there was a cat and stop it. I
- 19:53think there was. Somebody tell me if I'm wrong. I think in high
- 19:56school you dissect a cat. You went to DGF. Correct, Okay,
- 20:00Wood, you need to do your creek. I think that we had like
- 20:02a same correct A fertile pig? What is it? A fertile pig?
- 20:06Gotta be fertile? Why are we even on. I guess this is probably
- 20:08why kids stay in school, or you'll end up on the radio looking like
- 20:12these two. Oh, I don't even know where we were going. We
- 20:17had another whole story. Oh yeah about golf Leonard country Club. It opened
- 20:21yesterday, and I guess this is now them being able to say they have
- 20:23now been opened every single month of a year, which is great. Yeah,
- 20:26twelve months a year, year round golf and Fargo sign me up.
- 20:30Yeah. By the way, if you can't make it out to Leonard,
- 20:33it looks like Lakeview Golf Course in DL is also opening in Saturday, Sunday
- 20:37and months. Why have I never heard of that golf course? Isn't that
- 20:40the one like as you're coming into town, that's Highway ten. No,
- 20:42that's Forest Hills. Oh are you making up golf courses? No, I'm
- 20:47not Lakefield. Is that the one by the country club? But not the
- 20:49country club? Yeah, I don't know. There's the executive, there's that
- 20:55iron Man course out there. Whatever the heck, I don't know, big
- 20:57golf guy. Never heard a lake View? You haven't Lakeside? And well
- 21:03it is? Uh it is the country club. Oh, you're kidding.
- 21:10The country club is opening Lakeview Pro Shop says located in the Detroit country Club.
- 21:18Oh so you sure the just the pro Shop isn't opening, because there's
- 21:22no way they're opening up a country club. I don't know. Maybe maybe
- 21:25they are. I don't know what the heck, this isn't a golf program.
- 21:27So can I get a mulligan for this whole broadcast? All right?
- 21:33Weather today? It is gonna be sunny. I have about forty six tomorrow.
- 21:37We're kind of dipping down. But the weekend looking real nice. Oh
- 21:41yeah, like it a minute in the morning on Big Nutty eight point seven.
- 21:47Hey, listen, I'll be the first to admit. When you're faced
- 21:48with a hard situation and the options are deal with it or just ignore it,
- 21:55sometimes option two is the easier one, Amanda. However, I guess
- 21:57it really depends on the situation. Well, how about these situations when it
- 22:02comes to your relationship. If you want a healthy relationship, these are things
- 22:06that you should never avoid ignore. Okay, okay. For example, let's
- 22:10say you've stopped touching each other. And this is from an expert. By
- 22:14the way, this isn't from part Pike's heart. Although I really resonate with
- 22:18all of these Pike the Love Expert, Yeah, I'm upsetting Amanda. If
- 22:22you're not kissing or just regularly just a little just physical touch doesn't have to
- 22:27be smooching or you know even more. Yeah. No, but you can
- 22:32very easily become roommates, especially when you have younger kids. It's easy to
- 22:37like have the distractions or you need your time, but you always have to
- 22:40have like even even the look like hey, I see you like this is
- 22:45like, oh, hey, I don't know. Nick and I have that
- 22:48look where it's like I really want to be with you right now, but
- 22:51we've you know, there's two kids between us reading and doing something, which
- 22:53is fine, but that look says enough to us really interesting like licking lips
- 22:57kind of look or I'm like, no, I just I don't know.
- 23:02Last night we kind of gave it like a I don't know. It was
- 23:04a weird like I love you, I miss you, but this is our
- 23:07life right now. Like that. I guess we could call him and see
- 23:11just that was what my energy was to me. Probably he's just tired,
- 23:15just gazing looking right through you. Oh I see a big Nick, I
- 23:18see you, honey. Nick probably was going huh, why are you staring
- 23:22at me? You weird? No, I'm just kidding. Well, you
- 23:26don't want to ignore that if you're not touching each other. Also, if
- 23:27you're not making each other a priority, it's a little thing you don't want
- 23:32to ignore. You know. It sounds like you guys really are, at
- 23:36least through the look anyway trying my eyes, are prioritizing him. Yeah.
- 23:41And then also if you get to the point where you are making all the
- 23:45decisions on your own not healthy, No, because that means they don't care,
- 23:49oh the other person or you, well maybe vice versa. Yeah,
- 23:53oh yeah, that'd be the other thing. If all things are getting decided
- 23:57that I had nothing to do with and I don't care, well, I
- 24:02think I might have one foot out the dough here. Also, if you're
- 24:07kicking issues down the road in your relationship, things that you know you should
- 24:10deal with, big things happen, wadda, YadA YadA, you're it's easy
- 24:12to be like, oh, yeah, no, we'll worry about that at
- 24:15a later date. Right that. I think a lot of people do,
- 24:18whether they're big or small. It's you let things slide until it hits a
- 24:22point and you're like, Okay, we could have dealt with this before.
- 24:25Dumb right, right, Well, Amanda, the number one thing you should
- 24:29not ignore if you want a healthy relationship. It's a I guarantee you've never
- 24:33thought of this or you infanty going you would never even realize to address something
- 24:37this. You've stopped talking to each other. If that were to ever happen,
- 24:45where you're just not speaking. Who put together this list? It certainly
- 24:48wasn't me. This is ridiculous. It's not ridiculous, it's true. Well
- 24:52there's a reason it's number one on our list of things did not ignore.
- 24:56Duh. If you're not talking to each other, Amanda, newsflash non Hell
- 25:00Okay, you know we're laughing and it's pretty sad, but I guess it
- 25:03probably does happen, especially depending on your situation. Everybody's got lives that you
- 25:07business strip here there who knows. Like, if you're in the house together
- 25:11and you're not speaking, I mean, I get like you can have some
- 25:15quiet time, you know, when you're watching TV or whatever, But if
- 25:18you're just see and I think the goal for a healthy marriage is when it
- 25:22is TV time and your wife is talking and going through everything. That's what
- 25:25guys really love when I'm going through like the agenda for the week, Well,
- 25:29you're just trying to have some chill time. That's when you know you're
- 25:30in a real home. That's a best. Oh my god, Like,
- 25:33get a minuda in the morning, get up on dig. You know who's
- 25:38coming to town? I do. Here's a hint. The whole gang,
- 25:44Mickey Mouse, Goofster and Disney on ice at the Fargo down We got takerincesses.
- 25:48I mean, it's going to be so much fun. And they really
- 25:52do. They hit all of the eras of Disney, right, so you're
- 25:53going to see everybody, and of course your kids are gonna love to go.
- 25:56So we're giving you a chance to win four tickets to bring the whole
- 25:59family all week. And right now we have Caller nine on the phone.
- 26:02Good morning. Who's this, Jacqueline. If you didn't hear when I just
- 26:06said it, your caller nine? Woo yeah right, yeah, kiddo,
- 26:11stress, who would you bring Let's say you did hypothetically win tickets, who
- 26:15would you bring? My whole family? Well, my two kids and my
- 26:18husband. Oh that's awesome, it's perfect fit. So here's the deal,
- 26:21Jacqueline. We're going to play a game of sixty seconds Showdown Disney edition.
- 26:26Have you heard his play this game before? Yeah? All right, perfect,
- 26:27well you know a man ducked in. She's ready to go. Just
- 26:30let's win the tickets. Let's move on. So Amanda has written down seven
- 26:33things, Disney themed things, and I'm going to be the one that has
- 26:37to give you the hints. Sixty seconds is all. We have to get
- 26:40five of them correct to win you the tickets. Okay, okay, all
- 26:44right, so I uh I dug a little deep for some of these,
- 26:47so I apologize Pike in advance. It's anything that could be found on Disney
- 26:51Plus. Well listen, as listeners of this show, No, I am
- 26:55very good at it. You are very good. So I'm putting you to
- 26:56the test this morning. All right, are you ready? Jaqueine? Already?
- 27:00Sixty seconds and three to two one, here we go. Uh this
- 27:04would be not Elsa but the other one from Frozen. Oh you got it?
- 27:11This is like you drive these they're like another word promote plural card.
- 27:18You got it? Nice. This was like Amelia Estevez's hockey movie, not
- 27:26not Wimpy Geese, but the nineties hockey movie. They're not quack quack.
- 27:33What animal goes quack quack? Yeah? What kind of there we go?
- 27:38This was I'm gonna skip that one. This a beauty and the beast.
- 27:42What's the woman? The beauty's name? You got it? One more?
- 27:48Uh? Okay, This is a Donald's love interest. No, no,
- 27:55no, the same animal that quacks, but not Donald. It's a type
- 28:02of flower. I mean it was. It was your fault, Pike.
- 28:11Listen, Jacqueline, I'm so sorry that was on me. Hang on,
- 28:18I want to Jacqueline. I hate to send you home empty handed. Let
- 28:21me talk to my superiors real quick. Okay, disappeared superior? Am I
- 28:26visiting? They sit in they sit in the corner of the room when the
- 28:29show, just watching us at the buzzer, right, you give thet We're
- 28:33gonna give you the tickets. So much fun. I'm so sorry Pike is
- 28:38so bad at that game, Jacqueline, Daffy duck. That's a good duck
- 28:42too. But there's a lot of good ducks, so early on to the
- 28:45ducks this morning. Sorry, guys, go tell your family. You guys
- 28:48are going to Disney on ice on behalf of Big ninety eight point seven.
- 28:51Congrats, awesome, Thank you so much in the morning, Big naty eight
- 28:56point seven Iman. Given the option between hard and soft, what do you
- 29:00think is more desirable? I see I go half and half all the time.
- 29:03We're talking tacos, right, Oh sorry, no skills at the workplace,
- 29:08hard skills or soft skills. But since you mentioned it, hard or
- 29:12soft tacos, I do three and three truly three and three. Yeah.
- 29:18If I get like a six back in a pound, I want a soft
- 29:19and I want a hard. Okay. Now, when it comes to me's
- 29:23skills, yeah, your skill set, Amanda, No, they say that,
- 29:26I don't know what this means nowadays in today's workforce in twenty twenty four,
- 29:30it's soft skills that people say are more in demand. So like,
- 29:34what's the difference, Well, like a hard skill, like for what we're
- 29:37doing right now, ability to turn the microphone on and edit audio and yadia,
- 29:44those are hard skills. But soft skills or your ability to communicate with
- 29:48others, your your personality, your ability to listen, problem solving, yeah,
- 29:52or they say the biggest one in twenty twenty four critical thinking. Now
- 29:56that's something I wasn't good at that growing up, because that's like the word
- 30:00problems. Right, those are an example of critical Those stressed me out,
- 30:06Like when Sally walks in the door and Sally has three friends and then four
- 30:11of them decide to go this way in that way, kind of like a
- 30:12riddle, not a fan. Right, we have to write out the answer
- 30:15and think about it. Yeah, it's like give me a little multiple choice
- 30:18here, you know, but always go see, always go see. Yeah,
- 30:23I guess just with the information I know here, I think I'm more
- 30:26of the softie. Yeah, and that's great. Those are obviously good skills.
- 30:30Now that's what they say anyway, because hard skills things that you learn
- 30:33like actual you know, things you do physically. Those are skills they say
- 30:37that pretty much expire after about five years. You know. I think about
- 30:41it like if you went to school for one thing and you learn some hard
- 30:45skills. That's what college is a lot of hard skills. Well, if
- 30:48you don't use it, if you don't get into that industry right away.
- 30:51It's like for me, yeah, I got an advertising degree nine years ago,
- 30:55but I have so what good is it now? You know what?
- 30:57I man, it looks like I got a slam dunk in the college degree.
- 31:00Mass communications with an emphasis in broadcast journalism. Man, I am using
- 31:07those hard skills well soft skills. I used to do a survey of everybody
- 31:11who went to school for mass communications and just see what they're all doing minor
- 31:17by the way, in public relations. Oh wow, yeah, jeez,
- 31:19Louise talk about a girl who used her college degree? What like my wife
- 31:25went for PR two? Yeah, what is it? What's the appeal?
- 31:27What's like the dream job when you're going to school for PR. It was
- 31:30hilarious because I remember because I went to school in Denver and I had a
- 31:34few of friends like working at a PR firm, Like what does it?
- 31:37Celebrity? And I watched too much Hallmark growing up, like I'm gonna sit
- 31:41there, yeah, like a celebrity or that had to be the dream people
- 31:45are chasing magazine or something and listen dream do it? You know? If
- 31:49not? Then when as I started going through it though, and realized I
- 31:52couldn't read a teleprompter because fun fact, I wanted to be on TV.
- 31:56That's a hard skill reading, not difficult, necessarily hard. It isn't hard
- 32:04versus soft skills. But I remember kind of I worked at a place at
- 32:07like a little internship, and it was more of like the pr angle and
- 32:10I had a buddy who we were best friends, and it was I mean,
- 32:15actually, like, if there's a fire you have to put out in
- 32:17a company, the PR firm has to to go ahead and do them,
- 32:22Like, oh, this is really intense. I don't like that. Yeah,
- 32:25so this is intense. Putting me back to the soft skill ye yeah,
- 32:29soft skills. So basically what I'm saying is acquire some soft skills.
- 32:31Not that some of them you can acquire, it's just sort of who you
- 32:35are. I feel like you need to have a good balance in life between
- 32:37hard and soft. Yes, for sure. That's why you go three and
- 32:39three at the taco bell exactly
