- 1:59Speaker 1: And here comes Buffy weekeed hats.
- 2:01Speaker 2: Okay, hats, party hats, party hats for everybody.
- 2:04Speaker 1: Why it's Thursday night, It's Thursday, and it's been a week.
- 2:10Speaker 1: I feel like it's been two weeks in just four days.
- 2:13Speaker 1: It really does.
- 2:14Speaker 2: It does feel that way. Mike, we're almost to the
- 2:16Speaker 2: finish line. We're almost there. We're almost there, Terry, we are.
- 2:22Speaker 1: Now, before we get into all of this, I just
- 2:28Speaker 1: need you to remind everybody what you're doing on Saturday.
- 2:32Speaker 2: Oh well, Saturday on our YouTube channel True Crime and
- 2:37Speaker 2: Wine Time, which I guess if you're listening to this pod,
- 2:39Speaker 2: it's kind of late notice. But what I will be
- 2:42Speaker 2: doing is a twelve hour megastream fundraiser for Mike Marucini,
- 2:49Speaker 2: one of the many victims of Laura Owens she is
- 2:53Speaker 2: still battling him in court over ten years of this
- 2:58Speaker 2: quite frankly bull shit, and so we are raising money
- 3:04Speaker 2: because of course she's tried to take things down.
- 3:06Speaker 1: Appeal.
- 3:07Speaker 2: If you have no idea when I say the word
- 3:10Speaker 2: named Laura Owens, bless you one but two, get your
- 3:14Speaker 2: butt over to our YouTube channel, find our Laura Owens
- 3:18Speaker 2: playlist and start what it's worth it It is, every
- 3:24Speaker 2: single second is insane.
- 3:26Speaker 1: It will about yourself and the stupid decisions you made
- 3:32Speaker 1: when you were young. I mean, it's made me. I
- 3:33Speaker 1: was like, wow, I thought I was really bad for
- 3:36Speaker 1: doing you know, like breaking into a guy's you know call,
- 3:41Speaker 1: because back then you had to ask the operator to
- 3:43Speaker 1: break in because we didn't have Paul waiting kind of thing.
- 3:47Speaker 1: So I'm like, I thought it was horrible for that.
- 3:49Speaker 1: And then you hear about Laura Owens. I was an angel, Honey,
- 3:58Speaker 1: I was an angel.
- 4:00Speaker 2: It's an absolutely unbelievable, very true story that's still ongoing
- 4:06Speaker 2: to this day. So if you don't know who I'm
- 4:08Speaker 2: talking about, go google it, then pop over and watch
- 4:11Speaker 2: our coverage of that. But Saturday, we have a twelve
- 4:14Speaker 2: hour fundraiser. There's gonna be a ton of content creators
- 4:17Speaker 2: on non content creators auctions. It's going to be such
- 4:22Speaker 2: a blast. I'm so excited. That's also where I'm so
- 4:25Speaker 2: tired right now.
- 4:27Speaker 1: I know what I'm most excited about. And I was
- 4:29Speaker 1: telling DOUBLEHS on our way back from the VET, I said,
- 4:34Speaker 1: can you believe Lama is doing twelve hours live streaming?
- 4:39Speaker 1: I was like, getting her to do one episode was
- 4:43Speaker 1: like pulling fingernails and toenails. Now she's doing twelve hours.
- 4:51Speaker 1: Twelve hours. I haven't even signed up to do something
- 4:57Speaker 1: like that.
- 4:58Speaker 2: Well, see, the problem is is that the there is
- 5:00Speaker 2: ambitious Lama, and she loves coming up with grand Ida.
- 5:06Speaker 1: On camera.
- 5:09Speaker 2: Like let's go for it. And then you know the
- 5:13Speaker 2: future Lama is very pissed at her, like, girl, you're
- 5:16Speaker 2: not the one who has to do this. I do,
- 5:18Speaker 2: and I'm tired. I'm anxious that I'm nervous, But no,
- 5:22Speaker 2: it's gonna be great. I'm so excited about it. Cause
- 5:26Speaker 2: an absolutely great cause, Like if you hear these men's story,
- 5:30Speaker 2: you will not believe it. You'll be like this, how
- 5:34Speaker 2: this couldn't even get worse?
- 5:36Speaker 1: This person, don't say that, don't say that. It does
- 5:40Speaker 1: so Okay, that's a merch idea that just gave me
- 5:49Speaker 1: some things. Lick send me that on the discord chat.
- 5:53Speaker 1: So I'm in the car next week.
- 5:56Speaker 2: I know she does say nice things about me every
- 5:59Speaker 2: once in a while.
- 6:00Speaker 1: Sometimes, Well I have you now, Lick. I'm gonna have
- 6:05Speaker 1: to call out. Lick called me out today when I
- 6:10Speaker 1: offered to be an auctioneer to auction off someone who
- 6:16Speaker 1: was on the computer lea kid, and I offered to
- 6:21Speaker 1: be the auctioneer, and Lick goes, you can't because you
- 6:25Speaker 1: would be bidding. I mean, okay, Link, Lick called me out.
- 6:33Speaker 2: I love that. Well, congratulations Kelly, and you remember versary
- 6:37Speaker 2: for fifteen months. So happy to have you with us

- 9:06Speaker 1: La Crema seven Young Blanc thirteen point five percent alcohol
- 9:11Speaker 1: by volume. And this is what I've had so far.
- 9:18Speaker 2: Well, it's quite a lot of I'm missing from the bottle.
- 9:21Speaker 2: If you're listening to this as a.
- 9:22Speaker 1: Podcast, did you I did? I just talked O girl
- 9:28Speaker 1: code have not that it's been a rough day, A
- 9:33Speaker 1: thousand dollars at the VET.
- 9:36Speaker 2: That's rough for anybody. Well, tonight, I'm just having a
- 9:38Speaker 2: cold Coca cola. Somebody's got to steer the ship tonight.
- 9:42Speaker 1: So let's be honest. You just have a lot of
- 9:44Speaker 1: work to do tonight.
- 9:45Speaker 2: Still, Well, it's absolutely true, absolutely true. It's like, nope,
- 9:50Speaker 2: not tonight, Lama M and I have grapes. I have
- 9:54Speaker 2: a bunch of grapes here, So it's kind of wine.
- 9:56Speaker 2: Are they doing stages of wine.
- 9:58Speaker 1: Like refrigerated wines? Have you ever put them in the
- 10:01Speaker 1: freeze or no light, not refrigerator, but in the freezer.
- 10:03Speaker 1: But you soak them an alcohol, you freeze them and
- 10:08Speaker 1: then you roll them in sugar and you eat them
- 10:12Speaker 1: and they pop with the alcohol like I usually filled
- 10:15Speaker 1: with vodka, or you can do it with white wine.
- 10:17Speaker 1: It's on a hot day out by the pool. It's
- 10:21Speaker 1: like a little cold burst.
- 10:24Speaker 2: No, but they are very cold because I keep my
- 10:26Speaker 2: fridge pretty coold. But I got green ones. I got
- 10:30Speaker 2: the black grapes, which are my personal favorite kind of whips. Yes,
- 10:34Speaker 2: black grapes.
- 10:35Speaker 1: I only know of red and green. Those are blueberries, honey.
- 10:39Speaker 2: No, they're grapes. This is way bigger than a blueberry. Terry. No,
- 10:43Speaker 2: they're black grapes, and they're my favorite of all the grapes.
- 10:47Speaker 1: And that looks blue, not black. But that's okay. I
- 10:51Speaker 1: didn't name them, Terry. I've had wine, okay, But now
- 10:56Speaker 1: that we know what you're not drinking.
- 10:59Speaker 2: Yes, no us to coke for me tonight. So let's
- 11:05Speaker 2: move along now.
- 11:06Speaker 1: Shall we. So tonight we're going to cover part two
- 11:11Speaker 1: of the tragedy of doctor Chris Dawson, but before we
- 11:15Speaker 1: begin today's story, we need to take a moment for
- 11:18Speaker 1: something important. This episode deals directly and deeply with suicide, depression, addiction,
- 11:25Speaker 1: and mental health struggles. And if these topics feel too
- 11:30Speaker 1: heavy or too close to home right now, please take
- 11:34Speaker 1: care of yourself first, Okay. There is no judgment in
- 11:39Speaker 1: stepping away. In fact, we will applaud you for stepping
- 11:42Speaker 1: away and protecting your space, okay, because we'll be here
- 11:47Speaker 1: when you're ready. And for those choosing to stay with us,
- 11:52Speaker 1: we believe these conversations matter. You know, we cannot shine
- 11:56Speaker 1: a light on a crisis if we're unwilling to talk
- 11:59Speaker 1: about it, and some stories are difficult to hear, but
- 12:03Speaker 1: they also give us an opportunity to better understand the
- 12:06Speaker 1: struggles that so many people quietly carry behind closed doors.
- 12:12Speaker 1: And tonight's case is heartbreaking, it's also very complex, and
- 12:18Speaker 1: it is also a reminder that the battles people face
- 12:23Speaker 1: are most often not visible to the outside world. And
- 12:27Speaker 1: as we tell this story, we encourage you to listen
- 12:29Speaker 1: with empathy and to check it on the people you love,
- 12:34Speaker 1: and to remember that asking for help is absolutely never
- 12:38Speaker 1: a sign of weakness. It's a sign of strength, absolutely
- 12:43Speaker 1: So grab a drink, grab your blankie. I got mine too,
- 12:48Speaker 1: and we are going to you know, a closer look
- 12:51Speaker 1: at the tragic story of doctor Christawsen and the families
- 12:55Speaker 1: whose lives were forever changed. That's right.
- 12:59Speaker 2: And if you are someone you know is struggling with
- 13:01Speaker 2: mental health, depression, or thoughts of self harm, please reach out.
- 13:05Speaker 2: You can call or text the Suicide and Crisis Line

- 13:47Speaker 1: And we did. I am sorry, but we may have
- 13:50Speaker 1: to fire some of our loved members and people in chat.
- 13:57Speaker 1: It's one hundred degrees in NORCLSA. No blank it for me, honey,
- 14:01Speaker 1: it was ninety four here with our heat in Dixon humidity.
- 14:04Speaker 1: It was one hundred and four. I still have a blanket.
- 14:08Speaker 1: It's not covered up, but I still have it here
- 14:09Speaker 1: to cuddle and I'm in the house with it cold.
- 14:12Speaker 1: So still grab your blanket just to rub your fingers on. Okay,
- 14:16Speaker 1: don't have to put it on your body. Just need
- 14:19Speaker 1: to verify that. So if you are just joining us,
- 14:25Speaker 1: you need to pause this episode right now. Stop what
- 14:27Speaker 1: you're doing. Unless you're here live, go back to part
- 14:30Speaker 1: one of this story. And for those of you who
- 14:33Speaker 1: are caught up, let's recap the heavy ground that we've
- 14:37Speaker 1: already walked so last week.
- 14:40Speaker 2: We will tarry, but I know the story. Stut to
- 14:44Speaker 2: behind the manicured lawns and twinkly holiday lights of North
- 14:48Speaker 2: Richland Hills, Texas, to look at the devastating case of
- 14:54Speaker 2: doctor Christopher Dawson. Now to the outside world, Chris was
- 14:59Speaker 2: the poster child for the American dream, a brilliant up
- 15:04Speaker 2: and coming surgeon married to his college sweetheart Rachel, who
- 15:09Speaker 2: was a dedicated, nicky nurse. Together, they shared two beautiful,
- 15:15Speaker 2: fiercely loved children, nine year old Luke, who was a
- 15:20Speaker 2: fearless soccer loving adventurer, and five year old Aubrey or
- 15:25Speaker 2: Bree as her family called her, who was and sounded
- 15:29Speaker 2: very much like a vibrant little princess packed with pure,
- 15:34Speaker 2: unadulterated sass. The two adorable children.
- 15:39Speaker 1: Yeah and I love that, okay. But behind the surgeon mask,
- 15:44Speaker 1: Chris was finding a quiet, suffocating war with severe depression
- 15:49Speaker 1: and crippling anxiety. Trapped in a high stakes medical culture,
- 15:53Speaker 1: or seeking psychiatric help carries a career ending stigma. Chris
- 15:59Speaker 1: and that secretly self medicated because he was too terrified
- 16:03Speaker 1: to ask for a lifeline now.
- 16:06Speaker 2: When his life began to fracture under the weight of
- 16:09Speaker 2: severe marital turmoil and the sudden public humiliation of losing
- 16:17Speaker 2: his prestigious surgical job after just six weeks, the walls
- 16:22Speaker 2: began to collapse, and on the morning of December ninth,
- 16:27Speaker 2: twenty seventeen, the mask slipped off for the final catastrophic time.
- 16:34Speaker 2: In a state of extreme psychological collapse, Chris used a
- 16:39Speaker 2: semi automatic shotgun purchased just the day before to take
- 16:44Speaker 2: the lives of Luke and Brie before turning the weapon
- 16:48Speaker 2: on himself, and it was an unspeakable tragedy that left
- 16:54Speaker 2: their quiet suburban block shattered and left a graving mother
- 16:58Speaker 2: standing in an act going empty home. That just.
- 17:07Speaker 1: So, we ended last week's episode with a haunting realization
- 17:11Speaker 1: that doctor Chris Dawson didn't stay silent because he didn't
- 17:16Speaker 1: want to get better, guys. He stayed silent because he
- 17:19Speaker 1: was terrified that a mental health paper troll could permanently
- 17:23Speaker 1: destroy the career he had sacrificed his youth to build.
- 17:28Speaker 1: Before we continue with today's episode, we wanted to take
- 17:31Speaker 1: a moment to address something we mentioned during part one
- 17:35Speaker 1: of the Tragedy of Chris Dawson last week. Now, during
- 17:39Speaker 1: that episode, we shared that we planned to discuss the
- 17:42Speaker 1: Physician's Health Program or it's often called the PHP system
- 17:47Speaker 1: and its possible connection to some of the broader issues
- 17:50Speaker 1: surrounding physician wellness and mental health. Since that episode aired,
- 17:55Speaker 1: we have had several individuals who reached out to share information, experiences,
- 18:01Speaker 1: and perspective on this topic.
- 18:04Speaker 2: Now, we know some of you may have been expecting
- 18:07Speaker 2: that portion of today's episode, and we never take it
- 18:12Speaker 2: lightly when we have to change course after announcing something.
- 18:16Speaker 2: If you know me, I literally do not like doing
- 18:20Speaker 2: that unless it is of the utmost importance. And we
- 18:25Speaker 2: also believe that when new information comes forward, that it
- 18:31Speaker 2: is our responsibility to slow down, listen, ask questions, and
- 18:37Speaker 2: do the research necessarily necessary to fully understand what we're
- 18:43Speaker 2: discussing before presenting it to our audience. And we take
- 18:48Speaker 2: our jobs very seriously when we have microphones, right. And so,
- 18:54Speaker 2: the Physician Health Program system is a complex topic that
- 19:01Speaker 2: affects physicians, healthcare professionals, their families, and their careers. And
- 19:09Speaker 2: it is also a subject that impacts thousands of people
- 19:13Speaker 2: across the country. And because of that, we do not
- 19:17Speaker 2: want to oversimplify it or reduce it to a single case,
- 19:23Speaker 2: or discuss it without taking the time to understand the
- 19:27Speaker 2: many different experiences and viewpoints that exists with it. And
- 19:34Speaker 2: so this issue is also personal for some members of
- 19:39Speaker 2: our TCWT team, and that personal connection makes us even
- 19:44Speaker 2: more committed to approaching this topic thoughtfully, fairly, and with
- 19:50Speaker 2: empathy for everyone involved. So there will be a day,
- 19:55Speaker 2: but it will be a day now.
- 19:57Speaker 1: But at TCWT Media belief people matter more than the headlines, okay,
- 20:04Speaker 1: And while today's episode focuses on Chris Dawson's story, that
- 20:08Speaker 1: broader conversation surrounding PHPs deserves its own careful attention. I mean, guys,
- 20:15Speaker 1: it's a big deal and it is something that needs
- 20:18Speaker 1: to be out there, but it needs to be done
- 20:20Speaker 1: the right way. For that reason, we are pressing pause
- 20:25Speaker 1: on this portion of the discussion. We will continue gathering information,
- 20:30Speaker 1: reviewing sources, and listening to those who have reached out
- 20:33Speaker 1: to us. We have already spoken to a couple of
- 20:36Speaker 1: amazing individuals that I think Lama will agree with me.
- 20:42Speaker 1: They they grabbed my heart. They grabbed my heart. So
- 20:50Speaker 1: if and when we choose to cover this topic in
- 20:52Speaker 1: the future, it will be because we believe we can
- 20:54Speaker 1: do so in a way that is balanced, informed, and
- 20:58Speaker 1: respectful of the many people's who lives have been touched
- 21:01Speaker 1: by these programs, and also not damage anyone that we
- 21:05Speaker 1: love dearly.
- 21:06Speaker 2: Absolutely, and I say, we still encourage people to reach
- 21:09Speaker 2: out to us. Yet please, experiences, We're not This is
- 21:12Speaker 2: again the word pause. It's a pause, So please, if
- 21:17Speaker 2: you have any experiences, do reach out to Terry or
- 21:20Speaker 2: myself at Terry at TCWT, T E R I One
- 21:25Speaker 2: rt at tcwtmedia dot com or Tara t A r
- 21:29Speaker 2: A at tcwtmedia dot com as well. And we really
- 21:33Speaker 2: do appreciate everyone who has contacted us, who share their
- 21:36Speaker 2: experience and trusted us with their stories. We very much
- 21:42Speaker 2: hold that, very deeply and seriously. So. Some topics, though,
- 21:45Speaker 2: are simply too important to rush, and this is one
- 21:49Speaker 2: of them. So with that, let's get into finishing the
- 21:53Speaker 2: story though, of doctor Chris Dawson's story, in the story
- 21:58Speaker 2: of his family.
- 22:00Speaker 1: Now, before you start, sure, Kelly, I am not going
- 22:07Speaker 1: to live stream from NAPA if I've had more than
- 22:10Speaker 1: two glasses of WI. Just putting it out there, okay,
- 22:13Speaker 1: just telling everybody you're safe, putting it in the chat lama, Okay,
- 22:21Speaker 1: all right.
- 22:21Speaker 2: So, in the immediate wake of an unspeakable crying, the
- 22:26Speaker 2: world usually demands a monster. We look for a villain
- 22:30Speaker 2: to anchor our rage. But what happened next in this
- 22:34Speaker 2: story defies the standard true crime script. It is an
- 22:38Speaker 2: act of radical, almost unfathomable grace.
- 22:45Speaker 1: It was Rachel Guys, the mother who had just lost everything,
- 22:50Speaker 1: the woman who had been systematically isolated and controlled, who
- 22:55Speaker 1: sat down to write her husband's obituary, and she did
- 22:59Speaker 1: so with the full blessing of Chris's parents. I can't imagine,
- 23:04Speaker 1: and I can't either, un listeners, I want you fit
- 23:08Speaker 1: with that for a minute, And I want you to
- 23:09Speaker 1: think about it, because try to imagine channeling a grief
- 23:14Speaker 1: that heavy and anger that fears. I mean, this is
- 23:17Speaker 1: a Mama bear in choosing to write the absolute raw truth,
- 23:24Speaker 1: I mean exposing yourself that is like a huge exposure.
- 23:30Speaker 1: And Rachel didn't try to hide how her family died,
- 23:35Speaker 1: and she didn't pain over the darkness.
- 23:39Speaker 2: So the obituary published in the Fort Worth Star Telegram
- 23:43Speaker 2: stated clearly that Christopher Chad Dawson lost his long, brutal
- 23:48Speaker 2: battle with severe depression. It explained that after years of
- 23:54Speaker 2: silently suffering from anxiety, a suffocating depression to cold and
- 24:00Speaker 2: Chris was simply unable to escape its grip. The text
- 24:05Speaker 2: read quote on Saturday morning, while not in his right mind,
- 24:09Speaker 2: he did the unimaginable. But that was not the Chris
- 24:14Speaker 2: his family and friends knew and loved.
- 24:20Speaker 1: In those fewsed words, Rachel did something extraordinary. With her
- 24:26Speaker 1: medical background as a nurse, she recognized that severe depression, anxiety,
- 24:32Speaker 1: and untreated substance abuse can lead a person into a
- 24:36Speaker 1: complete break from reality, and she separated the diversase from
- 24:42Speaker 1: the man she had known, refusing to allow the final
- 24:46Speaker 1: horrific chapter of his life to raise the loving father,
- 24:50Speaker 1: respected surgeon, and complex human being he had once been.
- 24:56Speaker 2: Now the community rallied around Rachel and her unimaginable grief,
- 25:02Speaker 2: and a gofunding campaign was established to help with funeral
- 25:06Speaker 2: expenses and rebuilding a wife that had been shattered in
- 25:11Speaker 2: an instant.
- 25:13Speaker 1: I mean, for those of us that our spouses have
- 25:18Speaker 1: been spouses and our mothers or fathers, that says a
- 25:23Speaker 1: lot about the person Rachel is. And I mean she
- 25:29Speaker 1: could have taken a different route totally, But guys, the
- 25:35Speaker 1: most powerful reminder of Luke and Bree's lives can be
- 25:39Speaker 1: found in a Texas cemetery, where a monument stands not
- 25:43Speaker 1: as a reminder of how they died, but as a
- 25:45Speaker 1: celebration of how they lived.
- 25:49Speaker 2: So the marker features their smiling faces and a tribute
- 25:54Speaker 2: to the special bond they shared as brother and sister,
- 25:58Speaker 2: and at its heart is a photograph of the two
- 26:02Speaker 2: children dancing together, capturing a moment of pure childhood joy.
- 26:08Speaker 2: And it is huge. Now there, it is right, I.
- 26:14Speaker 1: Mean, they can go look it up. We didn't want
- 26:16Speaker 1: to show the picture, but it is absolutely stunning and
- 26:20Speaker 1: I have to say, since I'm going to be in
- 26:21Speaker 1: Dallas this weekend, I may have to stop by and
- 26:25Speaker 1: take some flowers.
- 26:27Speaker 2: It's gorgeous.
- 26:27Speaker 1: It's gorgeous. It is now.
- 26:31Speaker 2: There is no mention of the violence that ended their lives,
- 26:35Speaker 2: but instead it serves as a lasting testament to their
- 26:39Speaker 2: love and their laughter and the bright futures they should
- 26:44Speaker 2: have had. You know, how do you survive when the
- 26:48Speaker 2: life you built disappears overnight? How do you move forward
- 26:53Speaker 2: after enduring a loss still profound that it seems impossible
- 26:58Speaker 2: to carry. For Rachel Dawson, the answer has been to
- 27:02Speaker 2: transform grief into purpose.
- 27:07Speaker 1: Now today, Rachel continues to speak publicly about her experience,
- 27:12Speaker 1: advocating for greater awareness surrounding domestic abuse and mental health struggles,
- 27:19Speaker 1: and in her own words, through a lot of therapy,
- 27:24Speaker 1: running God and signs from Heaven, I am still here
- 27:29Speaker 1: in sharing my story as awareness for domestic abuse because
- 27:33Speaker 1: it's not always physical before it's deadly, and more recently
- 27:39Speaker 1: for gun sense laws. Luke and Bree's lives will not
- 27:44Speaker 1: be lost in vain. Our story will make a difference,
- 27:48Speaker 1: and I continue my one life is three living with
- 27:52Speaker 1: them in spirit.
- 27:55Speaker 2: It's beautiful beautiful and honest the reality of the situation
- 28:01Speaker 2: she has to live every day. I think you know now.
- 28:04Speaker 2: Rachel's message reinforces that domestic abuse does not always begin
- 28:10Speaker 2: with physical violence. Control, manipulation, isolation, and emotional abuse can
- 28:18Speaker 2: be every bit as dangerous, and it's usually how it goes.
- 28:25Speaker 2: Her advocacy encourages others to recognize the warning signs before
- 28:30Speaker 2: tragedy strikes. And so as we close tonight's episode, we
- 28:36Speaker 2: return to the center of this story of family that
- 28:41Speaker 2: should still be together.
- 28:46Speaker 1: Luke and Bray would be teenagers today and Rachel should
- 28:50Speaker 1: be watching them grow. She should be celebrating milestones, graduations,
- 28:56Speaker 1: first dates, proms, and planning for their future. Instead, she
- 29:01Speaker 1: carries their memories forward while working to ensure that their
- 29:05Speaker 1: lives continue to make a difference.
- 29:09Speaker 2: Chris Dawson's story is a very heartbreaking reminder to us
- 29:18Speaker 2: all okay, that mental illness, depression, anxiety, and substance abuse
- 29:26Speaker 2: can have devastating consequences when left untreated. It is also
- 29:33Speaker 2: a reminder that every behind every headline are real people
- 29:38Speaker 2: with real families, real struggles, and lives are forever changed. Guys.
- 29:47Speaker 1: I think that's important for everybody to take a moment
- 29:50Speaker 1: and listen to that, you know, because these are real people,
- 29:55Speaker 1: these are real stories.
- 29:57Speaker 2: Now looking too, it doesn't matter what your career year is,
- 30:00Speaker 2: the kind of house you live in, or none of
- 30:03Speaker 2: that matters when it comes to mental illness and substance
- 30:08Speaker 2: use and abuse, like there is nobody immune from it.
- 30:13Speaker 1: Because even teachers are scared to reach out, even police
- 30:18Speaker 1: officers are scared to reach out. It's especially here in
- 30:23Speaker 1: the South. You're raised to not show your weakness. You're
- 30:26Speaker 1: supposed to show your strength. You're supposed to be strong
- 30:29Speaker 1: or as my mom used to say, just stuck that inside.
- 30:32Speaker 1: Just stuck that inside. But guys, that doesn't make you
- 30:36Speaker 1: stronger to do that, Okay. Now, Luke and Bredolson deserved
- 30:42Speaker 1: to remember for who they were, not simply for the
- 30:46Speaker 1: tragedy that took them the way. Through Rachel's advocacy, their
- 30:50Speaker 1: memory continues to inspire conversations about mental health, domestic abuse awareness,
- 30:56Speaker 1: and the importance of seeking help before a crisis comes irreversible.
- 31:03Speaker 2: So tonight, raise your glass for Luke and for Bree
- 31:07Speaker 2: and for a mother's extraordinary determination to carry their light forward.
- 31:14Speaker 2: And you know, we want to thank you all for
- 31:17Speaker 2: spending time with us, and to please look out for
- 31:20Speaker 2: one another. Okay, check in on the people you love,
- 31:25Speaker 2: and never be afraid to ask for help when you
- 31:28Speaker 2: need it. Now, if you or someone you know is
- 31:32Speaker 2: struggling with mental health, depression or thought of self harm,
- 31:37Speaker 2: please reach out. You're not alone. Honestly, talking to somebody
- 31:41Speaker 2: else who has been through it literally helps so much.
- 31:46Speaker 2: I wish there wasn't such a stigma about that because
- 31:49Speaker 2: I can stay Talking about it helped me out way
- 31:52Speaker 2: more than not talking about it. So you can. Yeah,
- 31:59Speaker 2: you can call or texts the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline
- 32:03Speaker 2: at nine a eight or text home h O M
- 32:07Speaker 2: to seven for one seven for one for the crisis
- 32:10Speaker 2: text line.
- 32:13Speaker 1: And for people that are watching this are they're part
- 32:16Speaker 1: of our discord group of the Courtyard. There is a
- 32:21Speaker 1: lot of us in there that have struggled with mental
- 32:26Speaker 1: health issues, suicidal ideations, addiction issues. Don't feel ashamed to
- 32:32Speaker 1: send us a message or reach out at all, because
- 32:36Speaker 1: I can tell you I don't personally know anyone within
- 32:40Speaker 1: our group that would shame you or be like, oh,
- 32:43Speaker 1: why are they doing that? Like I can just tell
- 32:47Speaker 1: you do it because I can tell you there's probably
- 32:50Speaker 1: a lot of our team that can say they're here
- 32:53Speaker 1: because they reached out to somebody and that person helped them.
- 32:57Speaker 2: Absolutely. Absolutely, You'll never convince me otherwise. My stringer, Solly.
- 33:04Speaker 1: Well, that's all of that. But since it was short tonight,
- 33:10Speaker 1: and I know we talked a little bit about the
- 33:12Speaker 1: top of the show about what you're doing this weekend,
- 33:17Speaker 1: I want to know what you personally are most excited
- 33:23Speaker 1: about for being on camera for twelve hours. And I
- 33:30Speaker 1: do want to let you know. I want you to
- 33:33Speaker 1: all that are watching this or if you're on the
- 33:35Speaker 1: replay crew, I want you to write down how much
- 33:39Speaker 1: time you think Wama will actually be on camera because
- 33:45Speaker 1: she's gonna need to take breaks. Guys, Oh yeah, okay,
- 33:48Speaker 1: she needs to take food breaks, bio breaks, foggy breaks.
- 33:52Speaker 1: But I want you all to think about that because
- 33:55Speaker 1: I think when we come back, everybody write it down.
- 34:00Speaker 1: I'm going to ask people to submit and we are
- 34:02Speaker 1: going to give away a coloring or something.
- 34:06Speaker 2: Oh wow, does that have to be like down to
- 34:07Speaker 2: the minute.
- 34:08Speaker 1: What's the w whoever is closest to what it is?
- 34:12Speaker 2: So okay, because you have very many scheduled breaks, let's
- 34:18Speaker 2: just honey.
- 34:20Speaker 1: We know life happens, like when a mouse comes or
- 34:23Speaker 1: a bee comes, or a snake comes in the house,
- 34:27Speaker 1: or Zoe pulls her things or elbow feet needs a
- 34:30Speaker 1: tick inspection.
- 34:32Speaker 2: That's true.
- 34:35Speaker 1: Oh my god, say geese.
- 34:37Speaker 2: Oh my god, she says, Lama's going to need to
- 34:40Speaker 2: stand in angle that camera like she's yellow, fake and
- 34:43Speaker 2: a twenty four pregnancy. Oh my god, stuffing.
- 34:46Speaker 1: You saw a pillow under your shirt and stand up right?
- 34:51Speaker 1: But no, seriously, because I will be traveling for a
- 34:54Speaker 1: lot of it. But listen, water hydration, get up and
- 34:58Speaker 1: move around, take your legs around.
- 35:02Speaker 2: Her coffee and my money. I did say I would
- 35:05Speaker 2: not drink wine though, until halfway through at six pm,
- 35:08Speaker 2: so there's no way I can.
- 35:09Speaker 1: So, Laney, I am not packed. I don't want to
- 35:17Speaker 1: hear it. We're going to meet lady. I am Lany
- 35:22Speaker 1: and iol each other and we're staying at the same hotel.
- 35:28Speaker 1: Oh I did not know that we are. I have
- 35:31Speaker 1: a fine same hotel. So maybe we can get some
- 35:33Speaker 1: pull time pre drinks after drinks because doubleh is driving
- 35:38Speaker 1: on Sunday and since he doesn't drink much, he's like,
- 35:41Speaker 1: drink whatever you want Saturday night because you can sleep
- 35:44Speaker 1: on Sunday. We've got an eleven hour drive.
- 35:48Speaker 2: Yeah, danger, danger. Oh I didn't know that.
- 35:52Speaker 1: That's cool. Oh yeah, so cool. But what are you
- 35:56Speaker 1: most excited about?
- 35:59Speaker 2: I mean, I'm really just most excited to talk to
- 36:01Speaker 2: a bunch of different people. I mean, that's going to
- 36:03Speaker 2: make it easier, right, because we're going to have new
- 36:07Speaker 2: people in like every half houred hour.
- 36:10Speaker 1: Water and mind money.
- 36:11Speaker 2: Thanks Stringer, I appreciate your super chat. Thank you. But
- 36:16Speaker 2: you know, because we're very new to this whole community,
- 36:19Speaker 2: to this whole scene of the Laura Owens just for
- 36:23Speaker 2: Clayton victims of Laura Owen's things. So there's so many
- 36:26Speaker 2: people on that have been around a lot longer. So
- 36:29Speaker 2: I can't wait to hear their stories and their viewpoints.
- 36:32Speaker 2: I know so many of the guests also have like
- 36:35Speaker 2: their own specialty focused and so I'm really excited to
- 36:40Speaker 2: learn and hear from them about that. You know, because
- 36:44Speaker 2: a case like this covers so many different areas, it
- 36:48Speaker 2: really does. So that's really what I'm most excited about,
- 36:55Speaker 2: as you know, just hanging out having a casual conversation.
- 36:59Speaker 2: That's what I like to do anyway, So.
- 37:01Speaker 1: It's I just getting a bunch of friends over and
- 37:04Speaker 1: like what we did when we did the live show
- 37:06Speaker 1: in Ohio, just getting everybody over, hanging out, chatting and
- 37:10Speaker 1: then raising money or somebody. I mean, I mean that's
- 37:16Speaker 1: who I'm really most excited.
- 37:19Speaker 2: But I.
- 37:22Speaker 1: Am excited about all of it. My dog is whimpering
- 37:28Speaker 1: because my other dogs are locked out. I am excited
- 37:34Speaker 1: for all of that, for you to get to meet
- 37:37Speaker 1: and to get to talk to everybody. But I'm most
- 37:39Speaker 1: excited to be able to help Mike.
- 37:42Speaker 2: Yes.
- 37:42Speaker 1: To think how many years I didn't realize how many
- 37:45Speaker 1: years it had been going on. I mean, he has
- 37:48Speaker 1: moved on with his life. I mean, we're talking about
- 37:51Speaker 1: an ex way in the background. We're not talking about
- 37:55Speaker 1: somebody from two years ago that he went out with,
- 37:58Speaker 1: and that when I sat down on paper and did
- 38:02Speaker 1: the math, was like holy schmackers. Yeah.
- 38:08Speaker 2: And today as we caught up with where they are
- 38:11Speaker 2: right now in real time, with everything, one hundred and
- 38:15Speaker 2: nine thousand dollars in legal fees just for this bs
- 38:19Speaker 2: dvro renewal that's totally baseless in all ways. I mean,
- 38:24Speaker 2: Laura Owens is facing fourteen felony counts right now for
- 38:28Speaker 2: perjury fraud evident like the whole shebang. Okay, And so
- 38:33Speaker 2: now she wants to take him for an appeal on
- 38:35Speaker 2: the things she couldn't show up to, which is going
- 38:38Speaker 2: to cost him another twenty to eighty thousand dollars in
- 38:42Speaker 2: legal fees. And then she has said, and I believe her,
- 38:46Speaker 2: and many other people believe her, that she's going to
- 38:49Speaker 2: try to file a new DVR, which is several more
- 38:53Speaker 2: tens of thousands of dollars. And you know, Mike has
- 38:56Speaker 2: a very new young family. He has two little girl girls.
- 39:00Speaker 2: I don't know exactly how old they are, but they
- 39:02Speaker 2: are small.
- 39:03Speaker 1: You know, she doesn't need this or deserve it.
- 39:06Speaker 2: No, she's taking money from children.
- 39:09Speaker 1: He would rather go away. He's like, I don't my thoughts.
- 39:13Speaker 1: He's like, I don't need this because I never want
- 39:15Speaker 1: to see you, speak to you or think of you again.
- 39:18Speaker 1: You don't need to worry about keeping me away.
- 39:21Speaker 2: M h.
- 39:22Speaker 1: But the other thing that makes me mad all of
- 39:25Speaker 1: the women who have the right and deserve to follow
- 39:29Speaker 1: those and they need those. She is breaking the system
- 39:35Speaker 1: by crying wolf. She is that little girl crying wolf.
- 39:40Speaker 2: Yeah, it's really gross. All around when she does. It's
- 39:46Speaker 2: a crazy story and that's for sure, but no, Yeah,
- 39:49Speaker 2: to do something for that family who is still going
- 39:53Speaker 2: through this nightmare. And Laura's a lot of things, but
- 39:59Speaker 2: she he's definitely going to try to take out as much.
- 40:02Speaker 2: She's very spiteful about the spiteful. I've never seen Sumption
- 40:08Speaker 2: as spiteful as her, to be quite honest with.
- 40:10Speaker 1: You, I mean, I get being jealous or upset that
- 40:12Speaker 1: a guy doesn't want you. I get that. Let's be honest,
- 40:15Speaker 1: We've all been there when this person that you like
- 40:19Speaker 1: they don't like you as much. This isn't how you
- 40:23Speaker 1: go about it. You show them what they lost, sweetheart,
- 40:29Speaker 1: I'm not doing all of this batshit crazy. She is
- 40:31Speaker 1: taking away from all of this Women's Stringer Bell exactly well.
- 40:36Speaker 2: And that's for those that are listening on the podcast.
- 40:39Speaker 2: I have no idea what us and chat though, because
- 40:41Speaker 2: they're always on for couching Cord with Lama too. Like
- 40:45Speaker 2: That's the thing is, this woman has claimed to be
- 40:47Speaker 2: a victim of literally everything everything.
- 40:51Speaker 1: I don't think there's anything she hasn't tried yet.
- 40:54Speaker 2: No, and all of her stories are so baseless, so
- 40:58Speaker 2: unrealistic and so offensive and insulting to those who have
- 41:05Speaker 2: actually went through whatever it is, domestic violence, sexual assault, miscarriage, abortion,
- 41:12Speaker 2: I mean literally name it. She has claimed to be
- 41:15Speaker 2: a epileps eating to name it doesn't matter. She's had
- 41:20Speaker 2: it all apparently, but it's all so unbelievable and.
- 41:26Speaker 1: Disgusting.
- 41:27Speaker 2: And this is why nobody on the Internet likes Laura,
- 41:29Speaker 2: Like literally nobody.
- 41:30Speaker 1: And I loved somebody in chat today on couch Court said,
- 41:34Speaker 1: and you talked about it. Literally, Laura Owens has brought
- 41:38Speaker 1: people together on the Internet. The Internet doesn't agree on much,
- 41:45Speaker 1: but I think they pretty much have decided. Laura Owens
- 41:49Speaker 1: is not the victim boo, She's not the victim. But
- 41:54Speaker 1: I mean she is taking away from women of domestic violence.
- 41:58Speaker 1: She is taking away from more women who have had miscarriages.
- 42:02Speaker 1: She is taking away from women who can't get.
- 42:04Speaker 2: Pregnant mm hmm.
- 42:07Speaker 1: And she's I mean she, in my personal opinion, she
- 42:13Speaker 1: is breaking every role that protects women. I mean, she's
- 42:21Speaker 1: she's not good.
- 42:24Speaker 2: So I'm very excited about the fundraiser. It is for
- 42:27Speaker 2: such a good cause. Even if you can't donate anything,
- 42:31Speaker 2: sharing the info on social media is just as important
- 42:34Speaker 2: being there and support in the chat just as important,
- 42:38Speaker 2: not only for us, but like for Mike as well. Also,
- 42:42Speaker 2: if you want to leave any messages of support or
- 42:45Speaker 2: encouragement for him or his family, you can leave those
- 42:48Speaker 2: on our YouTube channel, community tab or post tab, or
- 42:52Speaker 2: email or social media on Discord social media. Terry has
- 42:57Speaker 2: all of social media before then, So it's a it's
- 43:01Speaker 2: very good cause I don't know how much money we're
- 43:03Speaker 2: going to raise, but you know what, whatever it is is,
- 43:05Speaker 2: we're showing our money.
- 43:06Speaker 1: We didn't have so money we didn't. I mean, yeah,
- 43:10Speaker 1: as a person, you know, we've both been in situations
- 43:13Speaker 1: where you know, things like this have happened. It's a
- 43:17Speaker 1: love and support. It's not necessarily the monetary. The monetary
- 43:21Speaker 1: is great because it helps, but the love support, the messages.
- 43:25Speaker 2: Yeah, it really really does. It really really does.
- 43:29Speaker 1: So do you have your snacks packed for your twelve hours? No?
- 43:35Speaker 1: But I do have my big bowl of grapes and more. Okay,
- 43:39Speaker 1: because I'm sitting here thinking, God, I wished I live
- 43:41Speaker 1: closer to you, because I would make you a whole
- 43:44Speaker 1: little care package, just like I did for Jeffa's drive.
- 43:47Speaker 1: I would have snacks to get you through morning, afternoon, evening.
- 43:51Speaker 1: I would have drinks, so you would just have a
- 43:53Speaker 1: little tote with them.
- 43:54Speaker 2: All. Oh, I will have that. I'll have chips, I
- 43:57Speaker 2: have okay, a couple bags of the eminem normal popped.
- 44:01Speaker 2: I'll have waters, wine, coffee, red bulls, all of it,
- 44:04Speaker 2: my little nest.
- 44:06Speaker 1: Don't get thewis.
- 44:08Speaker 2: I don't have twizzlers, but.
- 44:09Speaker 1: I only eat these during couch quart, so that's why
- 44:13Speaker 1: they're in my drawer. I can only eat them during couchquart.
- 44:17Speaker 2: Beef jerky for the protein to keep me going. That's true.
- 44:22Speaker 1: Now, I mean instead of taking bathroom breaks, if you
- 44:24Speaker 1: were a really dedicated person, you could be like astronauts
- 44:29Speaker 1: and race car drivers. What now, you could just wear
- 44:32Speaker 1: it depends.
- 44:34Speaker 2: Nah. I love y'all so much and I am all
- 44:37Speaker 2: for the cause, but I'm not wearing a diaper. Okay,
- 44:41Speaker 2: it's not happening. I don't care about anything that much
- 44:46Speaker 2: to do that.
- 44:47Speaker 1: Okay, guys, remember this is the woman who said if
- 44:50Speaker 1: elbow beat was lost out in the snow, she didn't
- 44:52Speaker 1: go on looking for it. If it was a blizzard,
- 44:55Speaker 1: and if I'm walked outside with snakes, she didn't come
- 44:58Speaker 1: and to look for me. So, by bitch, you're dead.
- 45:01Speaker 1: Sorry about it.
- 45:03Speaker 2: I tried to warn you about those snakes.
- 45:05Speaker 1: Yeah, well I I know we've got a stream tomorrow
- 45:11Speaker 1: that we'll talk about it. But just for those that
- 45:13Speaker 1: aren't going to be there, I am very proud of you,
- 45:17Speaker 1: thank you and everything with you starting this because it's
- 45:23Speaker 1: been a lot of work for you. Winks is help.
- 45:26Speaker 1: There are so many people helping in the background. Yeah,
- 45:28Speaker 1: that's true. It's it's not just I'm so proud of
- 45:32Speaker 1: you because it was your idea and you started it. Yeah. Yeah,
- 45:39Speaker 1: And I just can't wait to do a twenty four hour.
- 45:41Speaker 2: One that's never happening. I don't think that's ever happening.
- 45:46Speaker 1: Never say never, because then I will take that as
- 45:48Speaker 1: a challenge and I will do it on a day
- 45:51Speaker 1: that I know Buffy can you know, show up, slight,
- 45:56Speaker 1: show up later.
- 45:59Speaker 2: And have a kid several years ago not thinking about us,
- 46:02Speaker 2: of course.
- 46:02Speaker 1: I know, I mean selfish like that. He's a selfish
- 46:06Speaker 1: like that. We should have.
- 46:09Speaker 2: Foreseen our friendship eight years ago.
- 46:11Speaker 1: And I am just proud of you because, like I said,
- 46:13Speaker 1: when I mentioned the double h we're doing twelve hours,
- 46:16Speaker 1: he went, are you sure? You didn't force her to.
- 46:21Speaker 1: I'm like, it wasn't my idea. I did nothing about it.
- 46:25Speaker 1: I'm when you got told she was doing it, he
- 46:28Speaker 1: was like her go home?
- 46:30Speaker 2: Really, I was like, yes, I mean, honestly, I've been
- 46:34Speaker 2: pretty close to that time before. You have like trials,
- 46:40Speaker 2: and then we would have nights I would do.
- 46:42Speaker 1: But this is dial You've got a lot of different
- 46:45Speaker 1: guests and is easier.
- 46:47Speaker 2: This is going to be so much easier if you find.
- 46:50Speaker 1: It easier to talk to all of these different people,
- 46:53Speaker 1: knowing that you don't people often.
- 46:56Speaker 2: Yes, did you did you forget the Paul Canaro trial?
- 47:00Speaker 1: Did you for off ten hours a day? What? That's true?
- 47:05Speaker 1: Because that I was ready to myself and say I
- 47:09Speaker 1: was never watching a trial again.
- 47:10Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, So, I mean there would be days I
- 47:13Speaker 2: would do a trial from like eight and then you
- 47:15Speaker 2: just p Diddy, then do couchcore after dark, then do
- 47:20Speaker 2: a true crime and wine time or whatever else doing on.
- 47:23Speaker 1: Twenty four hours.
- 47:24Speaker 2: I've been very close. WHOA that was close to twelve hours.
- 47:27Speaker 1: Come your tips, we're gonna have to do twenty four hour.
- 47:31Speaker 2: So I think what I've I've definitely done from like
- 47:35Speaker 2: eight to eleven with like maybe an hour break forty
- 47:39Speaker 2: five minutes to an hour total, so we'll see socks.
- 47:44Speaker 1: I I am, I actually pulled, not trying to call
- 47:48Speaker 1: you out, but your cue saw I will.
- 47:50Speaker 2: Don't worry.
- 47:51Speaker 1: I packed mine for my car rides smart Well.

- 48:31Speaker 1: Come on over to YouTube. It's fun to see us
- 48:34Speaker 1: and the eye rolls, the burbs, the facial expressions that
- 48:39Speaker 1: apparently we all make, plus the visuals. It really helps
- 48:43Speaker 1: tell the story exactly.
- 48:45Speaker 2: And we have all sorts of shows over here too.
- 48:47Speaker 1: People don't realize have a lot of shows. We're on
- 48:50Speaker 1: like every day for something. So we had a podcast ohs,
- 48:58Speaker 1: we're both doing it all at you click it. So
- 49:00Speaker 1: we actually started as a podcast and then moved over here.
- 49:06Speaker 1: So we've been a podcast. I forget how many years,
- 49:11Speaker 1: six years, it's six years, seven years this October.
- 49:14Speaker 2: Or something something like that.
- 49:16Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, but we do have a podcast. We are everywhere.
- 49:19Speaker 1: You can even ask a l e x A. I
- 49:22Speaker 1: can't say it out well, I'm gond she'll do it.
- 49:25Speaker 1: Play it there because I used to play it for
- 49:27Speaker 1: Jasper the Goat because it calmed him to hear my voice.
- 49:31Speaker 1: Everybody else despises my voice. But Jasper was like, oh mommy, so.
- 49:37Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, and if you do here, and then when
- 49:41Speaker 2: does it get released on the pod.
- 49:43Speaker 1: So now that's what you can do here for now
- 49:47Speaker 1: we've gotten really good. You hear it on YouTube four
- 49:53Speaker 1: weeks before you get it on the pod four weeks
- 49:56Speaker 1: four weeks because of the break we took.
- 50:00Speaker 2: Wow. Yeah that's true.
- 50:01Speaker 1: But if you listen on the pod, if you start
- 50:04Speaker 1: with the very first season, which I would recommend, not recommend,
- 50:08Speaker 1: skip the first four or five episodes when it was
- 50:11Speaker 1: just me in a closet with Raggedy Ann and Andy Dolls.
- 50:16Speaker 1: It's fun to go back and listen to them. But
- 50:20Speaker 1: and farting Laney, who nobody farts on our show?
- 50:26Speaker 2: Farting?
- 50:27Speaker 1: And if we did, could I please get a clip
- 50:29Speaker 1: to that? I mean, there will be a day, There
- 50:33Speaker 1: will be a day. I mean it's never loud enough
- 50:36Speaker 1: for anybody today. Hear it? I hope. Oh you're just
- 50:40Speaker 1: not put it together.
- 50:41Speaker 2: Oh that's funny.
- 50:42Speaker 1: I will tell you if you ever listen to one
- 50:45Speaker 1: of the episodes on the podcast app one of the
- 50:49Speaker 1: best ones. I don't remember the name of the episode.
- 50:53Speaker 1: I think it was the Corkscrew Killer, but I had
- 50:57Speaker 1: one of my gaze was on with me Chewy Queen
- 51:02Speaker 1: and oh my god. I still listen to that episode
- 51:06Speaker 1: when I need to laugh. I love because talking with
- 51:10Speaker 1: a man about a killer. It's a gay couple and
- 51:14Speaker 1: he takes a corkscrew into a guy's mile anatomy and
- 51:19Speaker 1: to hear a man that you're sitting right next to
- 51:23Speaker 1: the videos even better. I do have the video clips,
- 51:25Speaker 1: but I can't share them, but because he won't let me.
- 51:28Speaker 1: But he's like, what, oh that sounds horrible.
- 51:34Speaker 2: Yeah, apple feet does fart in hallways.
- 51:37Speaker 1: Okay, Laney says, it's them that are farting. They are
- 51:41Speaker 1: all a bunch of farighters. Hey, if you fart on stage, Laney,
- 51:44Speaker 1: nobody will know.
- 51:47Speaker 2: All right, on that note, Yes, why don't you tell
- 51:51Speaker 2: them about next month?
- 51:54Speaker 1: So tonight is the last line of True Crime and
