Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: Nine. It's a bail at a kid at Candice Lopez
- 0:04Speaker 1: producer poo. We've been talking about the most haunted places
- 0:06Speaker 1: in Texas, which so far I think almost all of
- 0:09Speaker 1: them are here on the Metroplex, you know, in DFW,
- 0:12Speaker 1: which is crazy because so they say Texas is one
- 0:14Speaker 1: of the most haunted places in the world. There's just
- 0:18Speaker 1: so much history here. I feel like there's a lot
- 0:19Speaker 1: of history, there's a lot of ghosts. Unfortunately, that's my experiends.
- 0:24Speaker 1: This list is from some like paranormal experts that you
- 0:27Speaker 1: know listened down. Number ten was Old Alton Bridge, go
- 0:30Speaker 1: Man's Bridge and Denton, very famous place. Number nine, surprisingly
- 0:33Speaker 1: to me was six Flags Over Texas, which they say
- 0:36Speaker 1: is very haunted. Number eight yesterday was White Rock Lake
- 0:40Speaker 1: and today at number seven on the list, and we're
- 0:42Speaker 1: gonna count this down all the way till Halloween. Number
- 0:44Speaker 1: seven is the Baker Hotel in Mineral Wells, which is
- 0:50Speaker 1: a legendary place for so many years. It opened originally
- 0:54Speaker 1: back in the day in like nineteen twenty two. It
- 0:56Speaker 1: was TB. Baker who did it, and this was a
- 0:59Speaker 1: hotel hell that was iconic around the country and no
- 1:04Speaker 1: I mean known around the world, believe it or not,
- 1:07Speaker 1: because of the crazy water that was said to have
- 1:11Speaker 1: healing power, the crazy water in mineral wells, which you
- 1:14Speaker 1: could buy in the stores right now, which I don't
- 1:18Speaker 1: know if it necessarily is magical, but it was. It's
- 1:22Speaker 1: rich in minerals. So back in the day, people used
- 1:24Speaker 1: to come from all over the place to try to
- 1:27Speaker 1: soak in the water and heal themselves with the ailment
- 1:32Speaker 1: they had. And it was serious stuff back then. You know,
- 1:35Speaker 1: they didn't have modern medicine. I mean they had medicine, yeah,
- 1:38Speaker 1: but it wasn't like modern medicine like it is now.
- 1:40Speaker 1: So I mean this was like famous people used to
- 1:43Speaker 1: go there. I mean, it sounds funny now to say
- 1:47Speaker 1: like the famous people that were, but it was a
- 1:48Speaker 1: big deal back then. Yeah, like you know Judy Garland,
- 1:53Speaker 1: who knows her, grew up with her, like Clark Gable,
- 1:57Speaker 1: Ronald Reagan. Really crazy water, Will Rogers, you don't know.
- 2:02Speaker 1: I had some recently, not knowing what it was. I
- 2:04Speaker 1: bought it at Juice Land and I drank and I
- 2:06Speaker 1: was like, look, why, Yeah, I just didn't like the taste.
- 2:09Speaker 1: It's straight from a bathtub in mineral wells. A fan,
- 2:13Speaker 1: you're not. No, I actually like it and I buy
- 2:16Speaker 1: it sometimes at Kroger. Shout out to mineral Wells. Nice. Yeah,
- 2:19Speaker 1: either way, But people used to go there and soak
- 2:22Speaker 1: in the water. Maybe they didn't drink it. We're messing up, huh.
- 2:25Speaker 1: Either way, It rumorates like Bonnie and Clyde stayed there
- 2:28Speaker 1: back in the day. There's so much history there, but
- 2:31Speaker 1: then it closed down because of the Great Depression and whatnot,
- 2:33Speaker 1: and they've had it close for years. The ghosts there
- 2:36Speaker 1: are the crazy part. What they say is many ghosts
- 2:41Speaker 1: haunt this hotel and the area around it. One of
- 2:45Speaker 1: the more notable sightings they talk about has been the
- 2:48Speaker 1: bell Hot Boy, a certain bell Hot boy that it
- 2:51Speaker 1: was really young and I guess what happened back in
- 2:55Speaker 1: the day is I don't know what was going on
- 2:57Speaker 1: with elevators back in the day, but he was crushed
- 2:59Speaker 1: by an elevator. He was crushed in the lift. I guess.
- 3:02Speaker 1: Actually he wasn't crushed. He was on another floor and
- 3:04Speaker 1: went to step off thinking the elevator was there and
- 3:08Speaker 1: it wasn't and he fell. Oopsie. Yeah, which, Candice, it's
- 3:17Speaker 1: milling to the oopsie either way. Can you imagine the
- 3:21Speaker 1: days where there was elevators, no doors, you just stepped off. Yeah. Anyway,
- 3:26Speaker 1: I guess what, his ghosts still roams around that area
- 3:29Speaker 1: in his uniform, which is kind of freaky to think about.
- 3:33Speaker 1: People have seen him multiple sightings. That's not the only ghost.
- 3:36Speaker 1: There's another ghost, TB. Baker himself from the Baker Hotel.
- 3:40Speaker 1: They say he haunts the facility and the site and
- 3:43Speaker 1: even specifically the room he used to stay in all
- 3:46Speaker 1: the time, which the crazier part is to me is
- 3:50Speaker 1: that I guess he was like common. He would stay
- 3:52Speaker 1: in the eleventh floor the suite, and not only did
- 3:58Speaker 1: his ghosts haunt it, but there's a misstress of his
- 4:01Speaker 1: that haunts that hotel or that area now too, because
- 4:05Speaker 1: he would keep her on another floor while his wife
- 4:09Speaker 1: was there. And one day, and this is real, real story,
- 4:13Speaker 1: one day she couldn't take it anymore, the mistress, and
- 4:16Speaker 1: she jumped out of the window and you know, unlive
- 4:20Speaker 1: to herself because she just couldn't take the pressure of
- 4:23Speaker 1: being a mistress and feeling disrespected. She ended it right
- 4:27Speaker 1: there piece on another FLOORO, bro, he was balling. When
- 4:33Speaker 1: you modernize the story as well, Yeah, when you can
- 4:36Speaker 1: have your side piece. Hey, listen, I can't talk to
- 4:38Speaker 1: you right now. I'm gonna put you up on the twelfth.
- 4:41Speaker 1: He kept telling her, like, I'm gonna leave my wife.
- 4:44Speaker 1: He's on the eleventh. She's on the eleventh floor with me. Yeah,
- 4:48Speaker 1: but girl, I'm gonna keep you on the ninth. Yeah,
- 4:51Speaker 1: I'll keep you and I'll come down after she goes
- 4:53Speaker 1: to sleep. I'll be right down. I'll text you when
- 4:56Speaker 1: she's sleeping. I guess they didn't have a text. I'll
- 5:00Speaker 1: set a pigeon. Yeah, I'll send a messenger pigeon when
- 5:04Speaker 1: she falls asleep. Hey, you up either way. I guess
- 5:11Speaker 1: you can walk into the room that he used to
- 5:14Speaker 1: stay in and you could smell his cigar, and you
- 5:17Speaker 1: can smell the mistresses perfume. They say many investigations have
- 5:22Speaker 1: said this. Hold on. Okay, and now, Brittany, you got
- 5:24Speaker 1: a story about the Baker Hotel.
- 5:26Speaker 2: Do you know that there was a doctor there that
- 5:28Speaker 2: was you know, because he believed in the mental water
- 5:30Speaker 2: would help cure people with like unfortunate you know, mental disorder.
- 5:34Speaker 2: He also used to do I don't know if you
- 5:36Speaker 2: can say this one, but he used to do autopsies
- 5:38Speaker 2: on people while they were alive.
- 5:40Speaker 1: Yes, yes, in the hotel what hotel basement.
- 5:45Speaker 2: And then there was a lady back in the fifties
- 5:47Speaker 2: that thought she could jump from the balcony and land
- 5:50Speaker 2: in the pool and she was a couple of yards
- 5:52Speaker 2: too short.
- 5:53Speaker 1: Wow, there's so many ghosts. And I guess you know
- 5:55Speaker 1: it's taken a long time to reopen because one of
- 5:58Speaker 1: the issues is construction workers. Some of the construction workers
- 6:02Speaker 1: were scared and quit.
- 6:03Speaker 2: I have a my nephew. I guess my nephew in moll.
- 6:06Speaker 2: I guess that's what my niece's husband. He was one
- 6:10Speaker 2: of the construction workers or companies that went in because
- 6:13Speaker 2: they hire multiple companies. She said that he had three
- 6:16Speaker 2: guys walk off the site and never came back.
- 6:18Speaker 1: Yes, I've heard that from it. And he gave me
- 6:20Speaker 1: the chills because and I'm glad you said that, because
- 6:22Speaker 1: I heard multiple stories about construction workers that said, I
- 6:25Speaker 1: can't go back in. I can't go back in and
- 6:28Speaker 1: do it.
- 6:28Speaker 2: I can't force nobody to go in there. I've been
- 6:31Speaker 2: inside the Baker Hotel and there's no Wayne Hill. I
- 6:34Speaker 2: feel that I.
- 6:35Speaker 1: Don't know when is it supposed to be done pretty soon.
- 6:37Speaker 2: Right, well, they said twenty six, twenty twenty six.
- 6:39Speaker 1: Okay, well thank you, Brittany. Isn't that for you all?
- 6:41Speaker 1: Now they're saying it it was just delayed again. Yeah,
- 6:43Speaker 1: I think to like twenty twenty eight. Would you stay there? No?
- 6:47Speaker 1: You wouldn't. No, see I would pooh. Would you stay there? No?
- 6:50Speaker 1: Why would you do that? Why not? It's new? I mean,
- 6:54Speaker 1: if it's new, I'm saying it's rebuilt and it's supposed
- 6:57Speaker 1: to be gorgeous. I was totally everything with us. It
- 7:00Speaker 1: sounds nice, but it's gonna be gorgeous. I go have
- 7:05Speaker 1: lunch there. Yeah, I'll do something during the day. I
- 7:07Speaker 1: ain't spend the night. Maybe just chill by the elevator,
- 7:10Speaker 1: wait for the bell hop boy, wait for the mistress
- 7:14Speaker 1: to come to my room. I wonder what her perfume was.
- 7:18Speaker 1: You would wonder that, like Diamond's box shut off,
